Speaker 1: verse forty. There's a lot of great things happening here

Speaker 1: in this chapter. This is where we saw the feeding

Speaker 1: of the five thousand. This is where we saw the

Speaker 1: disciples across the river and the boats, and also the

Speaker 1: sea of what was it to see a galilee? So

Speaker 1: it's not a river, it's a sea. Also, this is

Speaker 1: where we find the multitudes following after Christ. But we

Speaker 1: saw how people can follow and chase God for the

Speaker 1: wrong reasons. They want his stuff, they love what he

Speaker 1: can do for them, or when they're in trouble, they

Speaker 1: want him to beil them out. But Jesus wants a relationship.

Speaker 1: He wants us to obtain eternal life, and that's.

Speaker 1: He is the only source where we can receive life,

Speaker 1: A verdict on mankind on the hearts of men, saying

Speaker 1: loves darkness. And so the Gospel of John is amazing,

Speaker 1: it's jam packed with a lot of truth. Now this podcast,

Speaker 1: we're talking about the words of eternal life and that

Speaker 1: Jesus promises that whoever believes in him will have everlasting life,

Speaker 1: and the reality that not everyone can handle that truth.

Speaker 1: The Jews didn't complained about him. Now, why would you complain?

Speaker 1: He said that he gives eternal life and he will

Speaker 1: to complain about that because he said, I am the

Speaker 1: Bread which came down from heaven. And they said, is

Speaker 1: not this Jesus the son of Joseph. Now that's where

Speaker 1: they're wrong right there. He's not the son of Joseph.

Speaker 1: They didn't understand the miraculous conception of Mary, whose father

Speaker 1: and mother we know. How is it then that he

Speaker 1: says I have come down from heaven. Now that's a complaint. Now,

Speaker 1: to be honest, it looks to be a legitimate and

Speaker 1: honest question. Right, I believe God doesn't. Now this is

Speaker 1: my opinion in my belief Right, Actually, it is a

Speaker 1: word because the Bible tells us to him and to

Speaker 1: prove him right in certain instances. But I believe that

Speaker 1: God is not bothered by questions like this could be

Speaker 1: a very legitimate question, like they saw him grow up right,

Speaker 1: he was born of Mary, but they misunderstood. I mean,

Speaker 1: it's obvious to say, hey, Joseph is his father, but

Speaker 1: they didn't really know the way to God. Now, I

Speaker 1: believe where they went wrong is complaining about it. There's

Speaker 1: a difference between a complaint and a question. As a

Speaker 1: let that stop your ministry just because they think they

Speaker 1: weaknesses and your limitations. They might count you out. But

Speaker 1: don't let man's opinion determine your future and the call

Speaker 1: Let's go to verse forty three and forty four. Jesus

Speaker 1: therefore answered and said to them, do not murmur among yourselves. Now,

Speaker 1: They were murmuring, and they were doing it amongst themselves.

Speaker 1: If they would have came to him and asked the questions,

Speaker 1: I think it could have been a different outcome for them.

Speaker 1: And verse forty four it says, no one can come

Speaker 1: to me unless the Father who sent me draws them,

Speaker 1: Now this is powerful. I am so thankful that at

Speaker 1: the age of fifteen, the Father drew me to Christ

Speaker 1: in that Bible study, Amen, I am so thankful that

Speaker 1: I received him, and I praised God for the promise

Speaker 1: of the resurrection. We can trust in that we can.

Speaker 1: We look forward to the day we get that our

Speaker 1: dream job, or the day we get that degree or

Speaker 1: that promotion. We think that this is like the most

Speaker 1: amazing thing that can happen in our lives like this,

Speaker 1: Us who have been droned by the Father, we can

Speaker 1: look forward to that day of resurrection. That's our graduation

Speaker 1: day right there, that's our ceremony there because he promises

Speaker 1: it right here. He says that we will be resurrected

Speaker 1: in the last day. You see, the Spirit, the Holy

Speaker 1: Spirit will draw.

Speaker 1: Salvation is initiated by God's grace. Now, that is so humbling.

Speaker 1: break this down. Actually, let's go to verse fifty one.

Speaker 1: He has seen the Father. Most assuredly. I say to you,

Speaker 1: he who believes in me had everlasting life. Hallelujah.

Speaker 1: the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna and

Speaker 1: the wilderness and are dead. This is the bread which

Speaker 1: and not die. I am the living bread which came

Speaker 1: down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he

Speaker 1: see here is Jesus. He identifies himself as the true

Speaker 1: source of substance, spiritual nourishment that leads to eternal life. See,

Speaker 1: we're so used to feeding our bodies. About how often

Speaker 1: are we feeding our souls? Jesus is saying, come eat

Speaker 1: from me. He's talking about my word, he's talking about

Speaker 1: my presence. Is time to start a new diet, the

Speaker 1: bread of life. That's the new diet. That's the new

Speaker 1: eating plan. Right, the Bread of Life plan is the

Speaker 1: new diet to nourish our souls and our bodies. Now,

Speaker 1: this was hard for the Jews to hear. This, This

Speaker 1: was difficult to hear. When you come across something difficult,

Speaker 1: instead of criticizing, instead of complaining and murmuring, ask questions,

Speaker 1: Ask legitimate questions.

Speaker 1: I tell people straight up, this right here is a

Speaker 1: Cannot afford to take lightly. I would take the extra mile.

Speaker 1: other religions. We're not here to make people look bad

Speaker 1: and sound bad and make fun of people who don't

Speaker 1: have the true relationship with the true and living God. No,

Speaker 1: we're here to provoke you, to provoke you to thought

Speaker 1: to independent thinking, critical thinking. This is gonna take some

Speaker 1: integrity to really look into your own life and to

Speaker 1: see what path are you on. Yeah, maybe your mother

Speaker 1: and your dad, maybe your family grew up in a

Speaker 1: particular religion. Maybe it's cultural. Maybe they will shame you

Speaker 1: and shun you. A lot of things can possibly happen.

Speaker 1: People are losing their lives because they're serving the true

Speaker 1: and living God. But beloved, is worth it to get

Speaker 1: past these difficult another one questions and not complain or

Speaker 1: not have a prejudice, but truly do your homework. If

Speaker 1: The Jews therefore quarreled amongst themselves. Look at them. They're quarreling.

Speaker 1: That means they're sitting there fighting. There's a huge debate

Speaker 1: and a huge argument saying, how can this man give

Speaker 1: us his flesh to eat? Now, this is a ridiculous statement.

Speaker 1: I mean, if you really think about it, that's not

Speaker 1: an argument at all. Now, this is a good question.

Speaker 1: Their problem is they didn't go to Jesus with the

Speaker 1: question they're asking themselves. Whenever we take the focus off

Speaker 1: of Jesus, it's inevitable we're gonna start quarreling amongst ourselves

Speaker 1: and we're gonna seek the answer from ourselves. That's a

Speaker 1: huge mistake. We need to seek the answer that comes

Speaker 1: from God. If you seek, you shall find. We can

Speaker 1: go to God. And there's people that I've witnessed to

Speaker 1: over the years and they've had questions, they've had concerns,

Speaker 1: and what really trips them up is they keep their

Speaker 1: eyes on man. They look at people who go to church. Yes,

Speaker 1: there's hypocrites in the church. They look at lifestyles of people,

Speaker 1: they look at pastors and all this stuff, but they

Speaker 1: don't look further to see the people who are truly
23:59
Speaker 1: faithfully living life out the people are truly doing.

Speaker 1: And beloved on that day of judgment. You can't point

Speaker 1: your finger at some pastor and think that that will

Speaker 1: excuse you of your sin and you'll be allowed into

Speaker 1: the kingdom. That's not gonna happen. We need to do

Speaker 1: our own homework and we need to work out our

Speaker 1: own salvation through fear and trembling. Amen. Now, the Jews,

Speaker 1: therefore a quarrel amongst themselves, saying, how can this man

Speaker 1: give us his flesh to eat? And Jesus said to

Speaker 1: them most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat

Speaker 1: the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,

Speaker 1: you have no life in you. Hey man, Now these

Speaker 1: are some radical statements, you know what I mean? This

Speaker 1: is really tripping them up. Wherever he eats my flesh

Speaker 1: and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will

Speaker 1: raise him up at the last day. For my flesh

Speaker 1: is food, indeed, and my blood is drink. Indeed, he

Speaker 1: who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me,

Speaker 1: As the Living Father sent me, and I live because

Speaker 1: stumbling and getting tripped up, and Jesus just pushed the

Speaker 1: pedal to the floor. Like he just keeps expounding on

Speaker 1: this point. Now, the problem was they took his words

Speaker 1: literally instead of spiritually, Jesus spoke of communion. His body

Speaker 1: and his blood symbolizes the ultimate sacrifice. This is about relationship,

Speaker 1: Isn't a church snack, you know what I'm saying now,

Speaker 1: in church. It's a covenant reminder that he gave us

Speaker 1: We eat of the bread, and we drink of the

Speaker 1: through sixty six. Therefore, many of his disciples, when they

Speaker 1: heard this, said, this is a hard saying. Who can

Speaker 1: understand it? When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples

Speaker 1: complained about this, he said to them, does this offend you?

Speaker 1: If you should see the son of Man a sin

Speaker 1: where he was before. It is the spirit who gives life.

Speaker 1: The flesh prophets nothing. The words that I speak to

Speaker 1: some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew

Speaker 1: from the beginning who they were who did not believe,

Speaker 1: And who would betray him, And he said, therefore, I

Speaker 1: From that time, many of his disciples went back and

Speaker 1: Then Jesus said to the twelve, do you also want

Speaker 1: This had to have been heartbreaking. As much as Jesus

Speaker 1: loves us and desires for us to be saved, this

Speaker 1: must have been heartbreaking for him to see this many

Speaker 1: people walk away. Therefore, many of his disciples, when they

Speaker 1: heard this said, this is a hard saying. Who can

Speaker 1: understand it? Many of them low, they walked, They left.

Speaker 1: Many left because they couldn't accept a suffering savior. They

Speaker 1: wanted blessing. They didn't want the cross. They wanted a

Speaker 1: savior that was gonna overthrow the political situation with Rome

Speaker 1: and to establish the kingdom. Now here's the truth bomb

Speaker 1: on this. Following Jesus will cost you something. Some people

Speaker 1: went and follow him because they want the miracles, but

Speaker 1: not because of his message. But when you truly eat

Speaker 1: of his flesh, meaning you internalize his word, right, the

Speaker 1: ingrafted word is able to save our souls. That's when

Speaker 1: you will be changed from the inside out. And even

Speaker 1: Jesus takes the time. He knew that they were offended.

Speaker 1: So he comes back and he takes the time to

Speaker 1: explain to them that his words were spiritual. He says

Speaker 1: it himself. That's why we can't just take a passage

Speaker 1: out of the Bible and twist it. We can't start

Speaker 1: a religion and say, oh, we need to eat the

Speaker 1: flesh of people, or we you know, start drinking blood

Speaker 1: and say well, this is you know, the blood of

Speaker 1: Christ or nothing like that. No, this is spiritual, and

Speaker 1: he explains it to him. But also he says that
