- 0:00Speaker 1: My name is Rick sander Lake Keyboards in ever Gray
- 0:05Speaker 1: and we have an upcoming Australian tour in uh in
- 0:14Speaker 1: uh when it's tber like late October, yeah, October.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, fantastic bet. Thanks for joining us.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Yeah, no problem, no problem.
- 0:26Speaker 2: So, as you say, right, Everygrade returned to Australia for
- 0:31Speaker 2: the first time since two thousand and seven this October
- 0:34Speaker 2: for a run of day starting in Perth and October
- 0:36Speaker 2: twenty then hitting Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra before finishing in
- 0:39Speaker 2: Sydney on October twenty five. So the big question is
- 0:42Speaker 2: why the hell have you neglected us for so long?
- 0:47Speaker 1: H Well, it's I don't. I don't. I don't really
- 0:52Speaker 1: take the responsibility for that. I mean, if we're up
- 0:55Speaker 1: to us, we would come every year because we had
- 0:59Speaker 1: a real a great time. I mean it was a
- 1:02Speaker 1: long time ago now, but we really enjoyed it. That
- 1:06Speaker 1: was our first time and we've been we've been waiting
- 1:10Speaker 1: to come again. We were supposed to come earlier, but
- 1:15Speaker 1: unfortunately because of the the war, we had to cancel
- 1:20Speaker 1: because the flights were canceled. But we're really looking forward
- 1:24Speaker 1: to come back and it's it's about time.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Definitely definitely changed with the band since there's a lot
- 1:32Speaker 2: of water under the bridge.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, let me let me think there's a few
- 1:39Speaker 1: changes definitely. We we have a we have a new drummer,
- 1:45Speaker 1: we have a new bass player, and we have a
- 1:51Speaker 1: new guitarist and Tom Tom the vocalist who are still
- 1:57Speaker 1: in the band since since last time in Australia. Well
- 2:03Speaker 1: things yeah, thinks, Yeah, things change definitely, and we have
- 2:08Speaker 1: a bunch of new records made so so hohold a
- 2:14Speaker 1: bunch of new songs as well. So yeah, it's hopefully
- 2:19Speaker 1: some some people will see us for for the second
- 2:22Speaker 1: time and they will see you completely different shows. So
- 2:26Speaker 1: I recommend going very.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Nice and as we say, right like you ever throw astray?
- 2:32Speaker 2: How get it? Design a set list of balances in
- 2:35Speaker 2: newer records like Theories of Empiness and architects of a
- 2:37Speaker 2: New Weave with nineteen years of missistory for the bad.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it's uh, that's that's all. It's always a bit
- 2:46Speaker 1: complicated with the set lists because peop fans they always
- 2:51Speaker 1: have their favorites and obviously we we dig our new stuff,
- 2:56Speaker 1: so we we really want to promote the new stuff
- 2:59Speaker 1: and play our new stuff, but of course we we
- 3:02Speaker 1: will put in some older songs as well because we
- 3:05Speaker 1: we we still like them and we know people wants
- 3:09Speaker 1: to hear it, so it's gonna be a good mix
- 3:11Speaker 1: of old and new songs.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I guess do you find, like turn around the world,
- 3:16Speaker 2: that some songs go better in certain countries and others
- 3:20Speaker 2: They have to play those songs in that country, but
- 3:22Speaker 2: it doesn't really matter else somewhere else.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Maybe there's there's some countries we we've been to quite
- 3:30Speaker 1: a lot, like in the middle parts of Europe, and
- 3:35Speaker 1: of course they've seen us a lot of times, so
- 3:37Speaker 1: we can play more maybe more new songs because because
- 3:42Speaker 1: they've they've heard us play pretty much old songs. But
- 3:45Speaker 1: for example Australia and the countries we don't tour that much.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Maybe it's a good idea to play some more older
- 3:52Speaker 1: stuff because people haven't heard us played it so but
- 3:57Speaker 1: but usually we don't. We we we pretty much played
- 4:00Speaker 1: the same set wherever we go, and it feels like
- 4:06Speaker 1: people appreciate it as much as anywhere we play, so
- 4:11Speaker 1: it's no big difference.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah, run us through a typical everygrade live shown and
- 4:16Speaker 2: what we can expect.
- 4:19Speaker 1: A typical live show. Yeah, yeah, like one and a
- 4:25Speaker 1: half hour mix of heavy songs mixed with some more
- 4:36Speaker 1: softer songs as well, a mix of songs through our career. Yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 1: it's it's hopefully a great experience for anather great fan.
- 4:51Speaker 2: And you've got Tambers unprogressive metal starwards in Moriam providing
- 4:55Speaker 2: national support. So firstly, what trade of a Moriam Mans
- 4:58Speaker 2: and Mind support for this run and how important is
- 5:00Speaker 2: it for every grade to sort of uplift the domestic
- 5:03Speaker 2: metal scene everywhere at all?
- 5:07Speaker 1: I think it's it's very it's really important. It's very
- 5:10Speaker 1: it's very nice to we we use there's usually like
- 5:15Speaker 1: local bands we can help to promote when we come
- 5:19Speaker 1: and play that we like. We we try to invite
- 5:25Speaker 1: the openers that we that we really like and that
- 5:29Speaker 1: we think are every grade audience we like as well.
- 5:33Speaker 1: So I think it's it's it's very important because we've
- 5:37Speaker 1: been there as well opening up for a lot of
- 5:40Speaker 1: bands and it's uh, it's good to find the good
- 5:44Speaker 1: match because it's it's it's a whole evening for for
- 5:48Speaker 1: people to go. It's not only every grade. They will
- 5:51Speaker 1: see some more bands and it's it's important that it's
- 5:53Speaker 1: a good match, I think. Yeah.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Nice. And earlier this Ye did a couple of shows
- 5:58Speaker 2: with Iron Maiden, so brother, I have wed I would
- 6:00Speaker 2: have been sick.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it was, it was, really it was, it was
- 6:05Speaker 1: absolutely sick. We we did one in Amsterdam for like, yeah,
- 6:11Speaker 1: I think it was indoor, like fifteen twenty thousand people
- 6:16Speaker 1: and it was like an amazing experience and we really
- 6:20Speaker 1: felt we had the crowd with us, which can be
- 6:23Speaker 1: hard sometimes. We talked to Steve Harris and he said
- 6:27Speaker 1: that he was really impressed that the audience were really
- 6:31Speaker 1: into our into every grade because he said a lot
- 6:34Speaker 1: of openers they have a really hard time. So that
- 6:38Speaker 1: was great. And then we played Paris for like forty
- 6:41Speaker 1: thousand people and it was even better. It was even better.
- 6:44Speaker 1: So so those two gigs were totally amazing experience for us.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yeah I bet yeah. You drop your fifteen studio album
- 6:54Speaker 2: Architectus of the New We've back on during the fitth
- 6:57Speaker 2: That was a reception for that.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Fancy to it, like hope they would, Yeah, I think
- 7:02Speaker 1: so it's people people seem to be surprised that we
- 7:08Speaker 1: managed to still managed to put out high quality albums.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Uh so, so it's the reception has been great. Uh,
- 7:19Speaker 1: And I wouldn't say we were used to it, but
- 7:22Speaker 1: I mean we we We just tried to do the
- 7:24Speaker 1: best album we can and people really seem to like it. Then,
- 7:29Speaker 1: of course there will always be opinions about certain songs.
- 7:34Speaker 1: People will always have their own favorite album from back
- 7:37Speaker 1: in the days. Maybe, but I really feel we're still
- 7:42Speaker 1: going strong in the songwriting perspective.
- 7:48Speaker 2: So are there any songs on the album that went
- 7:50Speaker 2: down a lot better live than maybe you thought they would,
- 7:52Speaker 2: or any that didn't go down as well as what
- 7:54Speaker 2: you thought they would.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Well, that's a good question. It's it's it always takes
- 8:01Speaker 1: a little bit of time when the new songs to
- 8:03Speaker 1: really to really you know, get stuck in the in
- 8:09Speaker 1: the live set. But but I think the new songs
- 8:15Speaker 1: they worked really well, and I think they're gonna work
- 8:19Speaker 1: even better the more we will have a chance to
- 8:22Speaker 1: play them. So I bet in when we come to
- 8:25Speaker 1: Australia the new songs are gonna sound fantastic.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yes, great as this was your fifteenth album, so you know,
- 8:32Speaker 2: it gets easier or harder they come up with new,
- 8:35Speaker 2: fresh handed material. The more albums you write.
- 8:40Speaker 1: It kind of goes in in you know, it differs
- 8:44Speaker 1: a little bit, but but right now we we we
- 8:48Speaker 1: have had a really good creativity feeling in the band.
- 8:52Speaker 1: So so for the last last a lot of albums,
- 8:57Speaker 1: it has been going really well. And pretty much everyone
- 9:01Speaker 1: in the band rights music. Our singer Tom writes the lyrics,
- 9:08Speaker 1: but but we all contribute in the musical part. So
- 9:14Speaker 1: we always always have had a lot of ideas. We
- 9:18Speaker 1: don't really have to struggle to make an album. It
- 9:22Speaker 1: goes pretty pretty smooth, I would say.
- 9:25Speaker 2: And then still, do you have any mentionages, fears, trying
- 9:28Speaker 2: fans bray before you come out.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I really hope you will come and see us. If
- 9:35Speaker 1: you saw us the last time, I guess you're pretty
- 9:37Speaker 1: old now, but you can manage to come and see
- 9:40Speaker 1: us anyway. And I really hope there's some some fans
- 9:45Speaker 1: that haven't seen us that will take the opportunity to
- 9:49Speaker 1: come and see us, because you never know when we
- 9:51Speaker 1: come back again. I hope it will not take that long,
- 9:53Speaker 1: but you never know. Assass
