- 0:22Speaker 2: I got stiffed coming into work today.
- 0:24Speaker 1: For the first time in your life. Ha, allright, someone shagged.
- 0:28Speaker 1: You have been anywhere that you haven't been stiffed?
- 0:31Speaker 2: To me, there was a guy about fifteen meters ahead
- 0:33Speaker 2: of me, right unloading stuff out of his trap. He was,
- 0:37Speaker 2: and he spotted me, and he got broke out into
- 0:40Speaker 2: this huge smile and started jogging towards me, and I
- 0:44Speaker 2: had my headphones on maybe, But then as he got
- 0:48Speaker 2: close to me, he went to do the high five,
- 0:50Speaker 2: and I went to high five him, and he put
- 0:52Speaker 2: his hand down.
- 0:54Speaker 1: That is so good.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I was like, oh man, and he cracked up. He
- 1:00Speaker 2: fucking stepped me.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Man, did you swing through with it?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:04Speaker 1: I did him? Yeah, No, I mean did you He
- 1:07Speaker 1: put the high five up and.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I swished the air embarrassing good one.
- 1:14Speaker 3: So did he then say like, oh no, just joking?
- 1:17Speaker 2: Yeah he did.
- 1:18Speaker 1: But I felt like.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I'd already humiliated myself.
- 1:22Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:23Speaker 3: I like it because it doesn't matter who you are,
- 1:25Speaker 3: and you're a big deal I am. You can be
- 1:27Speaker 3: brought crashing down to Earth.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Not a day goes by when I don't, you know,
- 1:31Speaker 2: get some sort of interaction with the punters out there.
- 1:36Speaker 3: What a legends number one? I reckon at least three
- 1:38Speaker 3: or four days would go by for me.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I would completely agree.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're not on the CBD with hundreds of
- 1:45Speaker 2: people every day.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It's also true, you know what I mean.
- 1:48Speaker 3: It's also true you're out in the dark depths of
- 1:50Speaker 3: west Auckland.
- 1:51Speaker 2: No one goes out on the streets there, and it's
- 1:53Speaker 2: too dangerous.
- 1:54Speaker 1: True.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I love what you're doing here because you're trying to
- 1:56Speaker 3: wind me up because you know that I'm on the
- 2:00Speaker 3: fringe of Westorkland and proud to be part of we Storkland.
- 2:03Speaker 3: But you've come in from so far out west, you
- 2:07Speaker 3: know what I mean? Yeah, I see you, Jason Man.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I'm proud of my west Auckland heritage.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Man, It's not heritage's who you are. Jason.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I'm just glad to get out of there, That's all
- 2:17Speaker 2: I'm saying.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Yeah, gets you've been telling me, it sounds like things
- 2:21Speaker 3: have gotten way better.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's true.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I was telling the fellows. Actually, it was my loudest
- 2:27Speaker 2: night in the city last night, A massive party at
- 2:29Speaker 2: about two o'clock in the morning, about ten meters from
- 2:32Speaker 2: my bedroom window.
- 2:34Speaker 3: So is it out in the park with a big speaker.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yeah, with a big boom box. About twenty dudes just
- 2:40Speaker 2: on the purse, screaming and laughing at each other a
- 2:43Speaker 2: good time, having a great time. That sounds also it's
- 2:46Speaker 2: like peak, pat if you walked into a party at
- 2:48Speaker 2: at peak time.
- 2:49Speaker 1: What day of the week was it, Tuesday?
- 2:51Speaker 2: Tuesday? On the steps fucking to the park, I was
- 2:55Speaker 2: Jeffan and Jeff and I can tell you. And then
- 2:57Speaker 2: someone having a massive breakdown at about five wasn't so
- 3:00Speaker 2: cool either.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Doesn't have as that does all the time.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm surprised that your your building mates, your neighbors
- 3:09Speaker 1: that live in that building, because they're stuck up, rich bastard.
- 3:13Speaker 2: No, they're lovely people that listen to this podcast.
- 3:16Speaker 1: In my opinion, that's not what you said. But I'm
- 3:19Speaker 1: surprised that they don't seem to react in any way,
- 3:21Speaker 1: shape or formers because they're elderly and dear or is
- 3:23Speaker 1: it they.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Do but they don't leave their apartments.
- 3:29Speaker 3: I reckon there's a part of that loves it.
- 3:30Speaker 2: And also yes, and also you've got a lot of
- 3:34Speaker 2: are on the other side, so we're on the side,
- 3:37Speaker 2: so the part most of them are on the other side,
- 3:40Speaker 2: so they're not getting the direct in your face through
- 3:43Speaker 2: the windows stuff.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I was a Wednesday last week, I think it was Wednesday,
- 3:49Speaker 3: was walking down to do my gaming potty there, which
- 3:51Speaker 3: involves me walking through that ABDS.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Such a good podcasts game?
- 3:55Speaker 1: Is it so good?
- 3:56Speaker 3: It's on TV?
- 3:58Speaker 1: Yeah? Watch it. I'll tell you he hasn't got a
- 4:01Speaker 1: TV show on TV. And plus he's probably got a
- 4:04Speaker 1: few on their dogs.
- 4:06Speaker 3: But I was walking through one of the parks. What's
- 4:10Speaker 3: that walking through one of the parks and I would
- 4:13Speaker 3: have been twelve pm on a Wednesday, and there was
- 4:16Speaker 3: a group of about five six seven dudes sitting up
- 4:20Speaker 3: for a party boxes twenty four boxes of beers, reds,
- 4:23Speaker 3: big boom box. I was just connecting up to it,
- 4:25Speaker 3: having a darry and as I walked past them, they
- 4:29Speaker 3: looked at me and I did the old eyebrow.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I was like, hey, you know like, we're how did
- 4:33Speaker 1: you do it? Did?
- 4:34Speaker 3: I did like a like a sort of like if
- 4:36Speaker 3: I didn't have a podcast, Yeah here you know what
- 4:39Speaker 3: I mean? On you Fellers, one of the young guys
- 4:42Speaker 3: just goes hey, and I was like, what's up man,
- 4:44Speaker 3: and he goes, I love your show, broh Yeah, And
- 4:47Speaker 3: I was like yeah, it's like, yeah, that's funny.
- 4:50Speaker 1: You have a good day. And I was like, yea cool,
- 4:52Speaker 1: all right, it was pretty It's pretty good, bueller yesterday
- 4:56Speaker 1: been been iff a recently into the Moon TV?
- 5:00Speaker 3: Is that off here or off here for the Moon TV?
- 5:05Speaker 1: Yes, it was unreal.
- 5:07Speaker 2: This is and this is what I love, these little
- 5:09Speaker 2: long claves Kizy like whenever I walk home or you're
- 5:12Speaker 2: walking up to it, you know by that sky City
- 5:14Speaker 2: area Mogi where they're we're they're partying down you know
- 5:18Speaker 2: most nights. Yeah, help with the pie. Yes, it's it's
- 5:23Speaker 2: a dangerous area there. There's like four or five people
- 5:27Speaker 2: just getting on it, you know, and smoking big doobes
- 5:31Speaker 2: and fucking sinking the past that ship.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Jason is thinking, man, that's living.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Totally, am that would be great.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It's a dream.
- 5:39Speaker 2: And then you go past job, you go past in
- 5:41Speaker 2: the morning there asleep on the bus fucking shelter seat.
- 5:46Speaker 1: For the grace of God goes.
- 5:48Speaker 2: You're totally totally the whole ky Big Show week days
- 5:53Speaker 2: from four on Radio Hurdarky.
- 5:56Speaker 1: The wy Big Show Podcast. This job's not holding, you bet,
- 6:00Speaker 1: a three hour job. You could imagine if you were
- 6:02Speaker 1: living in one of those busheld It's how close the
- 6:04Speaker 1: commute would be.
- 6:05Speaker 2: That's true, man.
- 6:06Speaker 3: And you have to commute from the party outside your
- 6:08Speaker 3: house to your house.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I mean you guys would be all right if I was,
- 6:11Speaker 2: you know, I came in to do the show steamed.
- 6:15Speaker 3: I wouldn't be out of the ordinary for Hucky.
- 6:17Speaker 2: We've also still got to do We've still got to
- 6:21Speaker 2: do our big show green special.
- 6:24Speaker 3: What's that, oh, Basil Basil special?
- 6:28Speaker 1: Couple of years old?
- 6:29Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, we were supposed to do it at your bloody.
- 6:32Speaker 2: We kind of did, but Mogi wasn't there.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Yea, Mogi had COVID. Yeah, a bit of work, that's right.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I did have COVID, is right.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I was sick as a fucking Should we do that again?
- 6:42Speaker 2: Should we try that again?
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:45Speaker 2: Okay, because especially over winter, I'm still fucking spilling it
- 6:49Speaker 2: out there.
- 6:49Speaker 1: We're looking for something to do for our ten year
- 6:51Speaker 1: winning anniversary. I wanted to go back and stay yet
- 6:54Speaker 1: because we got married at pink Carow Lodge down in Wellington.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so pin Caroll Lodge if you're at in
- 7:00Speaker 1: the harbor, it's the lighthouse on the other side of
- 7:02Speaker 1: the harbor there, and they had like a little house
- 7:06Speaker 1: that we stayed in. It's fucking it's a long haul
- 7:08Speaker 1: getting out there. Keys. You look out across the South
- 7:10Speaker 1: Island across the cook straight stunning. But I thought they
- 7:13Speaker 1: might have done up the little shed we setting because
- 7:15Speaker 1: we got in there that night after the shindig and
- 7:18Speaker 1: the power cut out after about two minutes, so that
- 7:20Speaker 1: was it. But it looks like it's been I don't know,
- 7:24Speaker 1: sold or something or rather all right, but look, that
- 7:27Speaker 1: would have been great to go back there after ten
- 7:28Speaker 1: years and do that and have our family look after
- 7:31Speaker 1: our kid. I anybody out there can recommend. I want
- 7:34Speaker 1: ocean views highly style that the place where we went to.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Yeah, it depends how you and your wife are with
- 7:42Speaker 3: doing nothing, Yeah, because it is awesome.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Well we won't be doing nothing, will we get on
- 7:46Speaker 1: the purse? And my wife was I said, I was
- 7:49Speaker 1: talking to my brother last night. I said, I'm coming
- 7:51Speaker 1: over for Magic Ground. I'll be getting on it there,
- 7:53Speaker 1: trying to take the rest of the year off. My
- 7:54Speaker 1: wife went past and said, no, you're on it for
- 7:57Speaker 1: our wedding anniversary. Well, fair enough to I think fair enough.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I think fair enough. That's realized because I probably, if
- 8:06Speaker 1: I was sober, i'd probably do a bit of funny.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Funny that I can imagine you for some reason, you've
- 8:11Speaker 3: got your wedding suit on again.
- 8:13Speaker 1: You're a bit of work.
- 8:15Speaker 2: It's really funny because I knew this person and I'm
- 8:19Speaker 2: not going to give too many details because it might
- 8:22Speaker 2: become obvious. And he was in a relationship he gave
- 8:25Speaker 2: up the pass for like two years. Wow, and his
- 8:31Speaker 2: partner said, you're so fucking boring. Was you're so fucking boring,
- 8:39Speaker 2: you should just get back on it again, And so
- 8:41Speaker 2: he did and just went massively downhill. Yeah, and the
- 8:46Speaker 2: whole relationship combusted, which.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Is effectively what my wife thinks as well. Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 1: She said, if you don't drink, then you don't sit down,
- 8:54Speaker 1: which is one hundred percent true. If I'm drinking, that's
- 8:56Speaker 1: what I'm doing. Everything else in my life. I'm giving
- 8:59Speaker 1: it a hundie.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Yes, I'm trying to drink better than anyone's ever drunk before.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I'm you know, I And the tendency is too when
- 9:07Speaker 2: you don't drink because you don't go out. I don't
- 9:09Speaker 2: want to fucking go out and sit with people getting
- 9:11Speaker 2: on the purse. It's just too go for half an hour, yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 2: or an hour or something point. But yeah, yeah, good ship.
- 9:21Speaker 2: But I just thought that was a classic sort of
- 9:23Speaker 2: thing of you know, going, oh, you're so boring now, okay,
- 9:25Speaker 2: well I'll get back on it. Yeah yeah, And then.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It's like, how's this, how's this for when you drink? Pass?
- 9:32Speaker 2: Let's break up?
- 9:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm addicted again.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you.
- 9:37Speaker 3: So in that situation, job, in that situation, maybe that's
- 9:41Speaker 3: when they should have gone, oh, maybe we aren't over
- 9:42Speaker 3: the right fit for each other.
- 9:43Speaker 1: If drunk, if you need to me to drink. But
- 9:46Speaker 1: then the conversation would have been, well, just have a couple,
- 9:49Speaker 1: you don't have to get wasted, And then the feeling
- 9:51Speaker 1: would have been wow. I mean, I guess I've been
- 9:53Speaker 1: off it for a couple of years. I'll probably break
- 9:54Speaker 1: and broken my own cycle. Let's give it a go.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Next minute you're in the gatta. Yeah, cover in your
- 9:59Speaker 1: own jew. I thought they wheeze, but jizz.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Cover up at sky City there at the bus stop.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Fuck yeah, I feel bad for I see a lot
- 10:08Speaker 3: of elderly tourists walking around and getting like, you know,
- 10:13Speaker 3: being visibly quite scared, and the awkmand CBD and fair
- 10:17Speaker 3: enough to oh yeah, yeah it sucks.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Look, I've been in the middle of the chests with
- 10:22Speaker 1: a pipe, you know, by an elderly, homeless gentleman who
- 10:26Speaker 1: I thought it was the funniest thing ever was and
- 10:29Speaker 1: was right. It kind of was. The it was amazing.
- 10:32Speaker 2: It's all in the eyes too, Keysy. You know, you've
- 10:34Speaker 2: got to just check out when you're walking towards someone
- 10:36Speaker 2: and they're having a you know they're not in a
- 10:38Speaker 2: good space. You just eye contacts not good.
- 10:41Speaker 1: See, yeah, I feel like you. No, I'm good.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I'm good at reading people and going, Okay, this fellow's having.
- 10:46Speaker 1: A bad day.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I need to just give them a bit of space.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 3: One thing I've done is take out quite a bit
- 10:51Speaker 3: of cash. It's coins currently, but I'm gonna do five
- 10:55Speaker 3: dollar notes because every single day there's someone at my
- 10:58Speaker 3: window as I'm parked at the line. Yes, and so
- 11:00Speaker 3: I've started giving out like a couple of dollars at
- 11:02Speaker 3: a time and stuff.
- 11:03Speaker 1: And I'm just gonna get a hundred bucks with a
- 11:04Speaker 1: five dollar notes out.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Yes, and then for the next two months, every time
- 11:07Speaker 3: there's someone there, here's five bucks.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Yep. Because it's just it's out of control. Man. Yeah, well,
- 11:12Speaker 1: what percentage of your income do you give away to charity?
- 11:15Speaker 3: Uh?
- 11:16Speaker 1: Twenty thirty percent? Well I get fifteen text is included,
- 11:21Speaker 1: so that's about thirty five percent text.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I tell you what. Actually, my wife's
- 11:29Speaker 2: a fucking shocker for that, for paying text. Well, no,
- 11:33Speaker 2: for so many charities. I'm like, what the fuck's this one?
- 11:37Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:37Speaker 2: What the fuck was that? Oh?
- 11:39Speaker 1: God?
- 11:39Speaker 2: I just thought we should you know, and we we
- 11:42Speaker 2: get it. We've been getting into the habit of taking
- 11:43Speaker 2: money out, yeah, and giving it to people. It's literally
- 11:46Speaker 2: what I just said I was going to do, right,
- 11:48Speaker 2: but like twenty bucks, forty bucks?
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yeah, five bucks, that's literally what I talked about on
- 11:54Speaker 1: the show, Remember that guy, Yeah, yeah, And it was.
- 11:57Speaker 3: The pistols closed the Murgers. Look at the bright side, man,
- 12:00Speaker 3: At least you were homeless, and I thought that was
- 12:04Speaker 3: very distasteful, fucking pretty cruel, tasteless, tasteless, not as crooked
- 12:08Speaker 3: as your cake. Hey, listen to the Big Show four
- 12:10Speaker 3: or seven weekdays radio. Hurarky yeah man,
