- 0:00Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 0:03Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 0:07Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 0:11Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 0:15Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 0:19Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom the United States
- 0:23Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 0:28Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 0:31Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 0:35Speaker 1: are here illegally, your next you will be fined nearly
- 0:39Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will
- 0:43Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 0:46Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 0:55Speaker 1: border and families will be protected.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 1:00Speaker 3: We got the backstory, and you know you stayed down
- 1:03Speaker 3: till you came up, but we now I want to
- 1:04Speaker 3: I'm interested in it. Come up. So all right, you
- 1:06Speaker 3: stayed in your mom's crib for nine months. No haadcut
- 1:09Speaker 3: just walk the dog just on some real Will Smith
- 1:13Speaker 3: just figuring it out right, all right, So what happened?
- 1:16Speaker 3: Like you just had like an epiphany and it's like
- 1:19Speaker 3: I got it, Like what can you explain me how
- 1:21Speaker 3: you woke out of that darkness and re emerge to
- 1:23Speaker 3: the unlight.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yeah. So when I went out of business with the
- 1:25Speaker 2: box trucks, my sole purpose of my research was to
- 1:30Speaker 2: identify what I did wrong and apply the correct information
- 1:35Speaker 2: to my operations. And the first thing I realized is like, yo,
- 1:39Speaker 2: I need to get the eighteen wheeler. Like the box
- 1:42Speaker 2: truncks is cool, but the eighteen wheeler is going to
- 1:44Speaker 2: definitely like open up my options now. It was so
- 1:48Speaker 2: funny because when I would be on the low board
- 1:49Speaker 2: with the box trucks, I would have to do the
- 1:52Speaker 2: search for twenty six foot, right, I can only look
- 1:55Speaker 2: for lows that would fill up the twenty six foot
- 1:57Speaker 2: on the trailer. But I would just sometimes just get cure,
- 2:00Speaker 2: let me see what the eighteen wheeler loads it like,
- 2:02Speaker 2: so it'll be like eighty loads available for box trucks,
- 2:06Speaker 2: but four thousand loads available for eighteen wheelers. And I'd
- 2:09Speaker 2: be like man like them eighteen wheelers is eating. So
- 2:11Speaker 2: that was the first thing I realized during my research,
- 2:14Speaker 2: It's like, yo, I need to get an eighteen wheeler.
- 2:17Speaker 2: So when I got the eighteen wheeling and I started
- 2:18Speaker 2: rolling with that one, it was like night and day.
- 2:21Speaker 2: It was like night and day. You know what I'm saying.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And you know, I learned how to negotiate. I learned
- 2:27Speaker 2: how to read the market. I learned how to position
- 2:29Speaker 2: my trucks.
- 2:30Speaker 3: So you said that before as far as all right,
- 2:31Speaker 3: so just to get the first eighteen wheeler, did you
- 2:34Speaker 3: finance that? Did you lease it?
- 2:35Speaker 2: How do you my first eighteen wheeler? I was able
- 2:37Speaker 2: to get that for really cheap. This dude that I know,
- 2:40Speaker 2: he was going through a divorce and I think his
- 2:42Speaker 2: wife was trying to take everything. He was like, YO,
- 2:44Speaker 2: just give me a price. I literally paid about seventy
- 2:48Speaker 2: eight hundred dollars first, it was a nineteen How.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Much does it cost like on average for.
- 2:54Speaker 2: A good truck that you you know that we recommend getting,
- 2:56Speaker 2: It's gonna be anywhere from fifty to sixty thousand, and
- 2:58Speaker 2: that's brand new. You about two thousand, sixteen, twenty fifteen,
- 3:01Speaker 2: all right, So I use the truck, yeah, but you
- 3:03Speaker 2: always only I got an old one.
- 3:04Speaker 3: You only recommend use trucks, right.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, absolutely? Why because a brand new truck is
- 3:08Speaker 2: gonna run you upwards of one hundred something thousand dollars, right,
- 3:11Speaker 2: and it's gonna get you the same results as a
- 3:14Speaker 2: as a semi US truck. You know what I'm saying.
- 3:16Speaker 2: It's all about getting a truck that you know the warranty.
- 3:20Speaker 2: You gotta go warranty on it, it's inspected. And if
- 3:22Speaker 2: you get you a really good US truck, it's gonna
- 3:24Speaker 2: get you the same results. But you're being able to
- 3:27Speaker 2: you'll be able to make your money back.
- 3:28Speaker 4: So between forty five to sixty for US one fifty
- 3:32Speaker 4: to sixty, how's the financing on that? Is there a
- 3:34Speaker 4: certain amount you have to leave down to get that
- 3:36Speaker 4: type of job?
- 3:36Speaker 2: So it's just different ways. So if you're an investor, right,
- 3:39Speaker 2: if you don't have a CDL. By the way, I
- 3:40Speaker 2: don't have a CDL, never drove a truck before, don't
- 3:43Speaker 2: plan on driving. You're not trying to drive, you know
- 3:46Speaker 2: what I'm saying. That's why I got so much respectful drivers.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Is I don't do it. I can't do it. So
- 3:51Speaker 2: as an investor, you're gonna put down an average of
- 3:53Speaker 2: about thirty percent down, right. Thirty percent down is what
- 3:56Speaker 2: I've been seeing for the last few years with UH
- 3:58Speaker 2: you know these UH banks at the actual dealerships, right,
- 4:01Speaker 2: there's different ways that you can come into the game.
- 4:03Speaker 2: You can actually go through the truck dealership, right, and
- 4:06Speaker 2: if you go through that route as an investor, it's
- 4:08Speaker 2: gonna be thirty percent. But if you have a CDL,
- 4:11Speaker 2: it's gonna be a little bit less down let's say
- 4:12Speaker 2: around fifteen to twenty percent. And the reason why it's
- 4:15Speaker 2: less for somebody who actually owns the CDLs because the
- 4:18Speaker 2: risk is a lot less for the banks. They're looking
- 4:20Speaker 2: at it like, hey, look, if you're an investor, you
- 4:22Speaker 2: don't have a CDL, you get a truck and you
- 4:24Speaker 2: don't have a driver, there's a higher chance that you're
- 4:28Speaker 2: gonna default on your loan because your trucks is gonna
- 4:30Speaker 2: be sinning versus somebody who has a CDL. They can
- 4:33Speaker 2: actually just hop in their truck and go generate some
- 4:35Speaker 2: money to pay their notes. So, again, thirty percent is
- 4:39Speaker 2: the average down on a fifty to sixty thousand dollars
- 4:42Speaker 2: truck for an investor with no CDL and about fifteen
- 4:45Speaker 2: to twenty percent down is the average that I've been seeing.
- 4:48Speaker 2: If you have a CDL, we call them own the
- 4:49Speaker 2: operators due to own their trucks and operate their trucks
- 4:52Speaker 2: as well. What I recommend, though, the best scenario as
- 4:56Speaker 2: far as getting into the game, no, is just having
- 4:58Speaker 2: like decent credit and having relationships with your own bank
- 5:01Speaker 2: a credit union for example. Right, some of these credit
- 5:04Speaker 2: unions all finance you up to one hundred percent, right,
- 5:07Speaker 2: so you don't have to put money a bunch of
- 5:09Speaker 2: money down for the truck. So in no scenarios, you'll
- 5:12Speaker 2: be looking at getting into the game about with about
- 5:14Speaker 2: ten grand because now or you got to pay for
- 5:15Speaker 2: is your insurance down payment, your license, your DT numbers,
- 5:19Speaker 2: your tags, et cetera. So that's the cheapest way to
- 5:22Speaker 2: get into the game is getting financing directly from your
- 5:24Speaker 2: credit union, just bringing them a bill of sales, like, hey, look,
- 5:26Speaker 2: this is the bill of sales. Can you guys finances truck.
- 5:29Speaker 2: You're going you wanna get the best interest rate through
- 5:31Speaker 2: your credit union, And that's the best.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Way I did my first like two cars to my
- 5:34Speaker 4: credit union. It was just like they take the money
- 5:36Speaker 4: right out your check. So it's like you never have
- 5:38Speaker 4: to worry about it. And the interest rate, like you said,
- 5:40Speaker 4: is a lot lower.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Absolutely, that's so you said.
- 5:42Speaker 3: As far as okay, reading the market, what does that.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Mean reading the market? Like? Okay, So the trucking literally
- 5:47Speaker 2: changes every week, like literally every week, like Atlanta could
- 5:51Speaker 2: be the hot zone this week. As far as freight,
- 5:54Speaker 2: when I say supplying the man, I'm talking about loads
- 5:58Speaker 2: to truck ratio. You knows what I'm saying. So like,
- 6:02Speaker 2: for example, I think the last time I checked, Atlanta
- 6:05Speaker 2: had about thirty nine hundred loads and they had about
- 6:09Speaker 2: fourteen hundred trucks. Right there's certain parts of the city
- 6:14Speaker 2: right now. Wisconsin is one of them. Hot right now.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Wisconsin had about I want to say, about five thousand
- 6:20Speaker 2: loads and like eight hundred trucks available in the last
- 6:23Speaker 2: business day. What does that mean to y'all?
- 6:27Speaker 3: Block You're gonna be able to charge the high amount
- 6:29Speaker 3: because it's not enough.
- 6:31Speaker 2: It ain't truck trucks out there. So now we have
- 6:33Speaker 2: all these shippers, all these shippers that's fighting for trucks now,
- 6:38Speaker 2: So what are they going to have to do to
- 6:39Speaker 2: make sure that their load gets to move. Hey, top dollar,
- 6:42Speaker 2: that's what the negotiating power comes in that. So if
- 6:44Speaker 2: you don't understand, Okay, this week Atlanta, Virginia, Tennessee is hot,
- 6:50Speaker 2: I need to position my trucks up there. If you
- 6:51Speaker 2: don't know that, you're gonna miss out. And that's what
- 6:53Speaker 2: I specialized, and I specialize it in and knowing where
- 6:56Speaker 2: to position my trucks at to get that top dollar
- 6:58Speaker 2: because all it is is connecting the dot. We're going
- 7:00Speaker 2: from one city to the next city to the next city, right.
- 7:04Speaker 2: So a lot of times what I was messing up
- 7:06Speaker 2: at is I would just take the big, the best
- 7:07Speaker 2: paying load going wherever, not realizing that when I got there,
- 7:11Speaker 2: it wasn't no loads there, right, So I'm thinking like, Okay,
- 7:16Speaker 2: I'm about to eat on this three thousand dollars load,
- 7:19Speaker 2: not realizing when I get to Iowa, for example, right,
- 7:24Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to drive probably five hundred miles to
- 7:26Speaker 2: get to another good load. So now I don't put
- 7:30Speaker 2: most of my profit back into the fuel tank to
- 7:32Speaker 2: get to that next market. So it's not just about
- 7:35Speaker 2: booking the load that day. It's about looking at where
- 7:38Speaker 2: the load is going and what that market is looking
- 7:40Speaker 2: like as well.
- 7:40Speaker 3: So you said it changes weekly, do you how do
- 7:42Speaker 3: you know? It's like website?
- 7:44Speaker 2: How?
- 7:44Speaker 4: I think you said something about trucks having seasons, Like
- 7:47Speaker 4: how does that work?
- 7:48Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean we got peak seasons, we got slow seasons,
- 7:50Speaker 2: we got times where producers are is real high at
- 7:53Speaker 2: that time, and you know, like that's around April or
- 7:55Speaker 2: like July is produce season. You know what I'm saying,
- 7:58Speaker 2: The freight rates go up because it's more it's more
- 8:00Speaker 2: demand for trucks. Right, But we have we actually have
- 8:03Speaker 2: on some of the low boards, we actually have a
- 8:06Speaker 2: feature that shows you all the hot zones in the
- 8:09Speaker 2: whole country, so we can literally go on there and
- 8:11Speaker 2: see what's going on in the market.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Right, anybody has access to those low boards or.
- 8:17Speaker 2: You have to. You have to have an active authority
- 8:19Speaker 2: in order to have actions.
- 8:20Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 8:21Speaker 2: Your dot number, your doot number is a number that's
- 8:24Speaker 2: on the side of all the trucks and you have
- 8:26Speaker 2: to have that activated in order for you to have
- 8:29Speaker 2: access to that low board. So the general public just
- 8:30Speaker 2: couldn't go on and look at the lowboard.
- 8:33Speaker 3: They probably wuldn't understand it even if they did. Nah,
- 8:35Speaker 3: it's like reading Spanish.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's similar to like a search engine
- 8:39Speaker 2: for like travelocity, like if you're traveling, it's similar to that.
- 8:42Speaker 2: But if you just knew nothing about it, you would
- 8:44Speaker 2: definitely need to get trained on how to actually operate
- 8:46Speaker 2: with it.
- 8:47Speaker 3: So you have like a map in your office where
- 8:49Speaker 3: you have like, Okay, I'm gonna go from Atlanta to
- 8:53Speaker 3: Philly to New York to Chicago and this is gonna
- 8:57Speaker 3: like how do you calculate the math on it to say,
- 9:01Speaker 3: because like you said, that was a good point, like
- 9:02Speaker 3: you might it might be good money going to Idaho, Iowa,
- 9:05Speaker 3: but now you got to come back to Atlanta, and
- 9:07Speaker 3: you don't really have any other stops in between. So
- 9:10Speaker 3: like if you have a set idea, okay, you need
- 9:12Speaker 3: to hit at least five stops everywhere, it's like five
- 9:14Speaker 3: hundred miles something like that, or you don't do more
- 9:15Speaker 3: than five hundred miles, like fifty miles something like that,
- 9:18Speaker 3: or is that like a formula or.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Well, whenever, my book and load and I brought a
- 9:22Speaker 2: couple here for example just to show you guys, right,
- 9:25Speaker 2: But whenever you book and load, it's important that you
- 9:28Speaker 2: know how much money you're going to be making after
- 9:31Speaker 2: the load is complete. So I just bought it. Like
- 9:33Speaker 2: the load. We're doing the load right now as we speak.
- 9:35Speaker 2: One of my drivers picked up below yesterday. Right, the
- 9:38Speaker 2: load is picking up in Tennessee and Laverge, Tennessee picked
- 9:41Speaker 2: up yesterday on the twentieth, and it's going to Franklin, Massachusetts,
- 9:44Speaker 2: delivering on Monday. Right. They're paying me twenty four hundred
- 9:47Speaker 2: dollars for that load. Right, So when I look at
- 9:49Speaker 2: that load, I got to figure out how many miles
- 9:52Speaker 2: is from the origin to the destination. So I did
- 9:55Speaker 2: the math. It's about a thousand miles. So now I
- 9:57Speaker 2: got to figure out how much fuel is it going
- 9:59Speaker 2: to take for me to to complete that load. So
- 10:03Speaker 2: we're gonna take the rate that the load is paid.
- 10:05Speaker 2: So we have twenty four hundred dollars, right, and then
- 10:08Speaker 2: I know that it's one thousand miles. So I hadn't
- 10:10Speaker 2: figure out how much fuel am I gonna need to
- 10:12Speaker 2: get this job complete? So we're just gonna take a
- 10:14Speaker 2: thousand miles. We're gonna divide that by six miles per gallons.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Because that's the average that each truck us six months. Yeah,
- 10:21Speaker 2: you get six eight eight miles if you got a
- 10:23Speaker 2: good truck. But I'm just gonna do worst case scenario, right,
- 10:25Speaker 2: So divide that by six, right, So I know it's
- 10:28Speaker 2: gonna take me one hundred and sixty six gallons of
- 10:30Speaker 2: diesel in order to complete that load from Tennessee to Massachusetts. Right,
- 10:33Speaker 2: So I'm gonna do is I'm gon times that times
- 10:36Speaker 2: the average amount of diesel the price for diesel, which
- 10:39Speaker 2: is about three dollars and twenty five cents right now, right,
- 10:44Speaker 2: So that's showed me right there. Out of that twenty
- 10:46Speaker 2: four hundred dollars, I'm gonna have to use five hundred
- 10:48Speaker 2: and forty of.
- 10:48Speaker 4: It on fuel just to get there and get back.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Right. So me personally, everybody pays eight drivers differently. I
- 10:54Speaker 2: pay my jovers a percentage, right, so I pay my
- 10:56Speaker 2: job is twenty percent of whatever that load is paying.
- 10:59Speaker 2: So just remember that, imber right there. So we're gonna
- 11:01Speaker 2: do twenty four hundred times twenty percent. It's four hundred
- 11:06Speaker 2: and eighty dollars. Remember that number. And then going up
- 11:09Speaker 2: there we got toes. So I'm gonna say I think
- 11:12Speaker 2: going up, there's gonna be about one hundred and eighty
- 11:15Speaker 2: dollars in toes, right, So if we do twenty four
- 11:18Speaker 2: hundred dollars minus was it five forty? Ask how much
- 11:23Speaker 2: does the driveway eighty forty for eighty minus one eighty
- 11:27Speaker 2: and tolls? Yeah, so we had eleven ninety nine on
- 11:31Speaker 2: the profit. That's your profit, that's my profit that I'll
- 11:34Speaker 2: see on Monday. So she picked up the load yesterday. Jove,
- 11:37Speaker 2: this is wild with you guys. Right now, my truck
- 11:39Speaker 2: is driving right now as we speak, right and by
- 11:42Speaker 2: the time I wake up on Monday morning, it's delivering
- 11:45Speaker 2: at seven am. She's going to deliver by the time
- 11:48Speaker 2: I wake up.

- 13:40Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 13:44Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 13:48Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 13:52Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 13:56Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 14:00Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United States
- 14:04Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 14:08Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 14:12Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 14:15Speaker 1: are here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly
- 14:19Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned and deported, you will
- 14:23Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 14:27Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 14:36Speaker 1: border and families will be protected.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security. I'll
- 14:41Speaker 2: be able to get eleven ninety nine in my bank
- 14:43Speaker 2: account about five thirty PM. That's another thing about trucking
- 14:46Speaker 2: that I love is that it's liquid. Every single day,
- 14:48Speaker 2: I'm getting deposits in our business account. You know, I
- 14:51Speaker 2: don't got to wait thirty days to get paid. Right.
- 14:54Speaker 2: You pick up a load on a Monday, we deliver
- 14:55Speaker 2: on a Tuesday, We get paid on a Tuesday. So
- 14:58Speaker 2: at the end of the day, we have a factory
- 14:59Speaker 2: compan A factory company is a third party bank that
- 15:02Speaker 2: literally purchases our invoices from us. Right now, my volume
- 15:06Speaker 2: is so high. I started off at three percent. I'm
- 15:08Speaker 2: down to one percent right now. So I get charged
- 15:10Speaker 2: one percent to get paid the same day, and they
- 15:13Speaker 2: wait thirty days to get paid. Does that make sense? Right?
- 15:18Speaker 2: So when you talk about people who are are in
- 15:22Speaker 2: other industries like real estate, or they do deals where
- 15:24Speaker 2: they need finance, you know how attractive it looks to
- 15:26Speaker 2: a bank to see daily deposits into your account. When
- 15:32Speaker 2: I go to my bank, they harass me, you don't
- 15:34Speaker 2: a lot of credit. You you don't want a lot
- 15:37Speaker 2: of credit today because I'm a lower risk. Because they
- 15:40Speaker 2: seeing that money coming in, that daily deposit coming in.
- 15:43Speaker 3: That's dope. So all right, how do you get drivers? Like,
- 15:47Speaker 3: what's the process to that?
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the hardest part of our industry. Like,
- 15:51Speaker 2: I'm not going to sit here and just tell y'all
- 15:53Speaker 2: the good part, right, you know what I'm saying. If
- 15:55Speaker 2: anybody just tells you the good part of anything, just
- 15:57Speaker 2: run away from them. Right. That's the biggest obstacle in
- 16:00Speaker 2: our industry. Whow because we're talking about the human factor
- 16:03Speaker 2: right here. We're talking about people, right, personalities, and with
- 16:07Speaker 2: the drivers, they don't have to necessarily be the most
- 16:10Speaker 2: polished people. You know. This is an industry where we
- 16:12Speaker 2: hire feelings, you know what I'm saying, Like, you know,
- 16:15Speaker 2: they don't have to have education. It is what it is. Right.
- 16:19Speaker 2: So the thing about drivers is that this is a
- 16:21Speaker 2: very challenging job. This job requires them to be away
- 16:24Speaker 2: from their families, right. This job requires them to be
- 16:28Speaker 2: driving at some times eleven hours straight. In the day
- 16:32Speaker 2: of drivers only allowed to drive for eleven hours straight.
- 16:35Speaker 2: They're allowed to be on duty for fourteen hours they're allowed,
- 16:38Speaker 2: and then they have to shut down for ten hours. Right.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Everybody can't drive for eleven hours straight every single day,
- 16:45Speaker 2: that right. So I got so much respect for jobs man,
- 16:49Speaker 2: and just shout out to you know, to the drivers
- 16:51Speaker 2: out there, man, like the world will stopped without y'all.
- 16:54Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. So I just got a
- 16:55Speaker 2: lot of respect for y'all. And that's why I treat
- 16:58Speaker 2: my drivers really, really well. My you know, and we're
- 17:00Speaker 2: gonna get into the portal and all that what I
- 17:02Speaker 2: train on. But you know, I know sites that I
- 17:06Speaker 2: go on sites and I I put on an attractive ad.
- 17:09Speaker 2: That's the first thing I wrote it down. Man.
- 17:11Speaker 4: When I saw the ad, you were like, we're gonna
- 17:13Speaker 4: pay you more by accident than ever shorten you on purpose.
- 17:17Speaker 2: And I was like, wow, that's not even on my ad.
- 17:19Speaker 2: That's what I tell my job is actually after I
- 17:21Speaker 2: get them, but I tell them all the time because
- 17:22Speaker 2: one of the biggest things when I'm doing these driver interviews,
- 17:24Speaker 2: I'm like, yo, why did you leave your last job?
- 17:27Speaker 2: Like what made you leave? In eighty percent of the time,
- 17:30Speaker 2: it's because they previous employee was playing with their money. Right,
- 17:33Speaker 2: That's the number one excuse that I hear while drivers
- 17:36Speaker 2: leave companies is they playing with the money. So I
- 17:39Speaker 2: tell them all the time, like, look, I'll pay you
- 17:41Speaker 2: more on accident. Before I short you on purpose, it's
- 17:44Speaker 2: my honor to pay you. You're helping me feed my family.
- 17:47Speaker 2: I don't have a CDL. You know, we both got
- 17:50Speaker 2: a role to play, so it's my honor to pay
- 17:53Speaker 2: you and just treating them with respect. And I don't
- 17:57Speaker 2: treat them like they work for me. I treat them
- 17:58Speaker 2: like business partners. You got to play. I got a
- 18:00Speaker 2: role to play. Your role is to make sure that
- 18:02Speaker 2: load gets there on time, right, safely and communication. And
- 18:06Speaker 2: my job is to make sure that your truck is safe,
- 18:09Speaker 2: it's operating correctly, the loads are there, and you get
- 18:11Speaker 2: your paycheck.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:12Speaker 4: One of the things you do with your trucks is
- 18:15Speaker 4: you put extra equipment inside of the truck just in
- 18:18Speaker 4: the event that there is something that happens.
- 18:20Speaker 2: From a mechanical standpoint right there, that's the maintenance. Yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 2: that is what it's called. It's not just about reacting
- 18:25Speaker 2: when the truck breaks down. Is how can I decrease
- 18:28Speaker 2: my trucks possibility of breaking down? You know? And what
- 18:32Speaker 2: I've shared with people is how I was able to
- 18:34Speaker 2: decrease my breakdowns about twenty one percent in twenty nineteen.
- 18:37Speaker 2: This is the little things that I've done little little,
- 18:40Speaker 2: little extra things that you can do to just help
- 18:42Speaker 2: help yourself on that road. You know, whatever belts that
- 18:45Speaker 2: your truck uses, right, we got an alternated belt, we
- 18:47Speaker 2: got a AC belt. Just put an extra set of
- 18:49Speaker 2: belt in, extra set of belts in your truck. Right,
- 18:52Speaker 2: keep any freeze, keep all in the keep fuses, keep
- 18:55Speaker 2: light bulbs, keep an extra spare tire on too. Right,
- 18:58Speaker 2: little fixes that can have you shut down for five
- 19:01Speaker 2: hours waiting on roadside if you already have the part there,
- 19:03Speaker 2: it's gonna save you some time and save.
- 19:04Speaker 4: You some money, save you a lot of money. Right,
- 19:06Speaker 4: they're gonna charge you just to look at it.
- 19:08Speaker 3: So how do you all? Right, So you have a truck,
- 19:11Speaker 3: you have the whole operation, you have drivers and all that,
- 19:13Speaker 3: but you had to have product to move right. So
- 19:17Speaker 3: is it most companies like free lance or do you
- 19:20Speaker 3: have set contracts with the people long term? Is it
- 19:23Speaker 3: a combination of both?
- 19:24Speaker 2: Like?
- 19:24Speaker 3: How does that work?
- 19:25Speaker 2: So when you first come into this game, you know,
- 19:26Speaker 2: the low board is pretty much your best friend at
- 19:28Speaker 2: that point, right when you just freshen the game, you
- 19:31Speaker 2: gotta develop relationships. So the load board is where we
- 19:34Speaker 2: started off at the load board. That's the website, right,
- 19:37Speaker 2: that's the website. And what what's the web loadboard? Dot
- 19:39Speaker 2: com dot com d as we have. We have the
- 19:43Speaker 2: that board and we have truckstop dot com. Okay, those
- 19:46Speaker 2: are the two big ones. So on this low board
- 19:49Speaker 2: there's brokers. You know, these are the people who have
- 19:53Speaker 2: the loans that we have to call and negotiate with. Right.
- 19:56Speaker 2: So what I did was we just started doing We
- 19:59Speaker 2: just did good business. Right. We stressed being all time,
- 20:03Speaker 2: we stressed delivering a good service. And what happened is
- 20:08Speaker 2: we would just be meeting all these different brokers every
- 20:10Speaker 2: day from booking different loads in different cities and then
- 20:14Speaker 2: me personally, I ended up doing this load that I
- 20:16Speaker 2: really liked. But it was a load that picked up
- 20:18Speaker 2: in Georgia and it went to Cleveland, Tennessee. And it
- 20:21Speaker 2: was twice a day. Right. You would pick up in Atlanta,
- 20:24Speaker 2: you would go to Cleveland, Tennessee, which is right there
- 20:26Speaker 2: by Chattanooga's like two hours away, right, and they was
- 20:30Speaker 2: paying us seven fifty to go two hours away and back.
- 20:33Speaker 2: And we was doing it twice a day. Okay, so
- 20:36Speaker 2: we was generating fifteen hundred dollars a day. Going up
- 20:39Speaker 2: twice and I loved it. Right. We did it for
- 20:43Speaker 2: like a week. It was like this project day was
- 20:45Speaker 2: working on, right, And then I looked at the numbers
- 20:47Speaker 2: that week. I was like, Yo, this is dope. So
- 20:48Speaker 2: I hit the broke up, like, Yo, how often do
- 20:50Speaker 2: y'all do these loads? He was like, man, it's funny
- 20:53Speaker 2: you asked that. Man, we just got an extension on
- 20:54Speaker 2: this project. We're gonna be doing this for the next
- 20:56Speaker 2: nine months. Wow. Right, So I'm like wow, he was like, yeah,
- 21:00Speaker 2: you know what. Maybe we had like about five different
- 21:01Speaker 2: companies on this all load, but y'all actually executed the best.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Y'all communicated whenever something was a delay, you called me immediately.
- 21:08Speaker 2: You let me know what was going on. He was like, man,
- 21:10Speaker 2: with you know, how many trucks do you guys have?
- 21:12Speaker 2: Would you guys like to, you know, do this full time?
- 21:15Speaker 2: And at the time, I think we was at about
- 21:16Speaker 2: five or six trucks. I was like, y'all give you
- 21:18Speaker 2: all my trucks. And man, when I tell you this
- 21:22Speaker 2: is two thousand and seventeen, we ran this load. We
- 21:26Speaker 2: ran this a load for the whole year, right, And
- 21:29Speaker 2: that was the year I really I was able to
- 21:31Speaker 2: level up on my cast.
- 21:32Speaker 4: That was the entire business.
- 21:33Speaker 2: It was just that, yeah. Was they was moving one
- 21:37Speaker 2: plant from Cleveland, Tennessee to Atlanta. We was moving an
- 21:39Speaker 2: entire plant for a fortune five hundred company to Atlanta.
- 21:44Speaker 2: That nine months ended up turning into two years. Oh wow,
- 21:47Speaker 2: and then then it ended up turning into nine years.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Now, how profitable is your business as far as like
- 21:55Speaker 3: truck or on average? Like how how much you can
- 21:57Speaker 3: a truck make?
- 21:59Speaker 2: Right now? And I like to under promise and overachieve, right,
- 22:01Speaker 2: I don't like to give the high numbers. I like
- 22:03Speaker 2: to give the low ball numbers. Right with the way
- 22:05Speaker 2: that we do it, each truck should be able to
- 22:07Speaker 2: generate you anywhere from fifteen hundred to three thousand a
- 22:09Speaker 2: week take home after all expenses are paid. That's what
- 22:12Speaker 2: the truck that's not breaking down. That's what a good driver,
- 22:15Speaker 2: and that's what a full week of work. We don't
- 22:17Speaker 2: see any reason why you should be able to at
- 22:19Speaker 2: least take home about fifteen hundred dollars a week per truck.
- 22:22Speaker 3: And of course you can have multiple trucks.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yes, it's a volume game.
- 22:25Speaker 4: After that game, that's how you got your trust right,
- 22:28Speaker 4: the first truck paid for the second truck.
- 22:29Speaker 2: And money management is how you is how you scale up.
- 22:32Speaker 2: You know, I had to make a lot of sacrifices
- 22:34Speaker 2: in the first couple of years. And instead of when
- 22:36Speaker 2: I made my profits, instead of using the money and
- 22:38Speaker 2: buying frivolous things, I would just reinvest it back into
- 22:41Speaker 2: the company. I would reinvested in new equipment. Right. And
- 22:44Speaker 2: then when you jump up to four, five, six trucks,
- 22:47Speaker 2: then the money that's what it gets real crazy a fleet.
- 22:51Speaker 2: And you know what I'm saying. I said, I've been
- 22:53Speaker 2: doing this. I've been doing this game for like but
- 22:54Speaker 2: six years now, and I just really started like buying
- 22:58Speaker 2: stuff like this year. You know what I'm saying, Like
- 23:01Speaker 2: I just started really like enjoying life and traveling. I
- 23:04Speaker 2: made my sacrifice. I reinvested in my company.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Right. That's the common that's the common theme for almost
- 23:09Speaker 3: every one of our guests.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Almost.
- 23:10Speaker 3: It's funny you say that because literally we've had people
- 23:12Speaker 3: from the music and just people from real estate developers
- 23:16Speaker 3: trucking now and the one common theme is exactly what
- 23:19Speaker 3: you said, Like you got it's all money in, Like
- 23:21Speaker 3: you got to put the money in and that's something
- 23:24Speaker 3: that it sounds simple, but nobody wants to do that.
- 23:27Speaker 3: As soon as you get profit, people want to live
- 23:28Speaker 3: off that on some selfish like just go to the
- 23:31Speaker 3: mall and just ball out. And it's like, that's not
- 23:33Speaker 3: how it works. And it's like you try to explain
- 23:35Speaker 3: that to people and they still don't understand.
- 23:38Speaker 2: You got to pay your dues. You gotta pay your dues, man.
- 23:41Speaker 2: And you know, like I said, this year, I bought
- 23:44Speaker 2: my dream car. I went what you call the sixty
- 23:47Speaker 2: three coop.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, I say the spending that.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Came with it, that came with it, yeah, man, you know,
- 24:00Speaker 2: like I paid my dues. So like any success that
- 24:03Speaker 2: I've seen, I'm unapologetic for because I put in the
- 24:06Speaker 2: work for it.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Now, we never apologize about making a profit. That's what
- 24:09Speaker 3: we're in business for.
- 24:10Speaker 4: You're in a business, like you said, it's a seven
- 24:12Speaker 4: hundred billion dollar industry, absolutely, and you're like, honestly, you're
- 24:16Speaker 4: the first person I know that's doing it. It's so crazy.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Can I say the first black person?
- 24:19Speaker 2: For sure? Sure? We are minorities in this industry. With minorities, yo,
- 24:26Speaker 2: let me tell you something. I went to Louisville, Kentucky.
- 24:28Speaker 2: It's this big truck show that they do every year
- 24:30Speaker 2: in Louisville, Kentucky, is called a match truck show, right,
- 24:33Speaker 2: thousands of people. I mean, they bring these trucks. It's
- 24:36Speaker 2: like tricked out trucks. They got classes there. It's the
- 24:39Speaker 2: biggest convention in the trucking industry, right every year. I
- 24:42Speaker 2: went there last year and I'm walking through the crowd, y'all,
- 24:46Speaker 2: and I had a couple of my students with me.
- 24:48Speaker 2: It was all eight of us, right, and we played
- 24:50Speaker 2: a game. The game was how many minorities can you
- 24:53Speaker 2: find in this crowd? It's mind blowing how much of
- 24:58Speaker 2: a minority we are in in the shit. And I'm
- 25:00Speaker 2: gonna tell you, I'm they just messed up and let
- 25:02Speaker 2: me figure it out. They said, eleven, that's stop letting
- 25:08Speaker 2: me in. My graduates from my school being forced back
- 25:15Speaker 2: drop bag drop, Mike, drop back drop, b drop.
- 25:30Speaker 6: Coach. The energy out there felt different. What changed for
- 25:32Speaker 6: the team today. It was the new game day scratches
- 25:34Speaker 6: from the California Lottery players. Everything. Those games sent the
- 25:38Speaker 6: team's energy through the roof. Are you saying it was
- 25:40Speaker 6: the off field play that made the difference on the field. Hey,
- 25:43Speaker 6: little play makes your day, and today it made the game.
- 25:46Speaker 6: That's all for now, Coach.
- 25:47Speaker 1: One more question played the new Los Angeles Chargers, San
- 25:50Speaker 1: Francisco forty nine Ers and Los Angeles Ram Scratchers from
- 25:53Speaker 1: the California Lottery.
- 25:54Speaker 6: A little play can make your day. Peacely, responsibly.
- 25:57Speaker 1: It must be eighteen years or older to purchase plate
- 25:59Speaker 1: or claim
