- 0:04SPEAKER_03: Well, hey everybody, welcome to yet another exciting, exciting episode.
- 0:08SPEAKER_03: You're so exciting, Jeff.
- 0:10SPEAKER_03: Another exciting episode of the Steve and Jeff Experience Podcast.
- 0:13SPEAKER_03: I'm Steve.
- 0:14SPEAKER_03: And I'm Jeff.
- 0:14SPEAKER_03: Hey Steve, how's it going?
- 0:16SPEAKER_03: Hey Jeff, it is going so great.
- 0:18SPEAKER_03: You know, had a little trouble coming into the studio.
- 0:20SPEAKER_03: You know, the the exterminator put all that stuff out, you know, the email that he was talking about.
- 0:24SPEAKER_03: And I, you know, I stepped into one of the glue traps.
- 0:27SPEAKER_03: Luckily, it wasn't it wasn't one that snapped, you know, one of those.
- 0:30SPEAKER_03: That would have been really bad.
- 0:31SPEAKER_03: But I can't the glue trap is like those things really cling.
- 0:35SPEAKER_03: And I've I've kind of still got it on my shoe.
- 0:37SPEAKER_03: I'm I tried to get it off here during the show, but but I digress.
- 0:41SPEAKER_03: But other than that, it's been great.
- 0:42SPEAKER_03: It's been great, really.
- 0:43SPEAKER_03: And we have we have so much success that we've been talking about.
- 0:46SPEAKER_03: You know how you know how sometimes people remember something different than the way it is.
- 0:52SPEAKER_03: You know, I think they call that the um the the mandolin effect, I think they call it.
- 0:57SPEAKER_03: And and but anyway, they the mandolin bay effect.
- 1:00SPEAKER_03: Mandolin Mandolin Bay effect, yes.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think I've heard of it.
- 1:04SPEAKER_03: And the reason I bring that up is there was an article talking about podcasts, the development of podcasts and which podcasts were the best, and it remembered wrong.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: It didn't mention us.
- 1:18SPEAKER_03: And I said, Well, well, that's a perfect example of the Mandolin effect, the Mandolin Bay effect.
- 1:22SPEAKER_03: That you know, they're just they're remembering something that didn't happen.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: And I, you know, it's another example of try of trusting the media, you know, you should never trust the media because they tell you what, you know, they tell you what's popular, whatever hidden agenda they have.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: They, you know, they rarely tell the truth.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: So I'm not surprised, Steve.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: But it is uh interesting though, because we are the number one podcast ever in the history of all podcasts.
- 1:51SPEAKER_03: Yes, we are better than the original pod that started the whole podcasting.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: We are, and I and I I I haven't looked at our traffic lately, but it was somewhere in the area of five trillion viewers.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Well, I would I was on I don't know how you get left out of any article when you're at that level.
- 2:09SPEAKER_03: And you know, and and funny you should mention that because I was on Google Diuretics a little bit earlier and I I looked and our numbers are way up.
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: They're way up.
- 2:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm still running the bathroom.
- 2:18SPEAKER_03: That's just crazy.
- 2:19SPEAKER_03: But but I hate that uh our numbers were way up.
- 2:22SPEAKER_03: I was looking at this just a little bit ago, just right before the show here, you know.
- 2:25SPEAKER_03: But oh, and speaking of the show, Jeff, Jeff, you are gonna love tonight's guest.
- 2:31SPEAKER_03: Now he couldn't be here live, he's calling in, so I can't tap the glass.
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: They don't want me to tap the glass anyway.
- 2:37SPEAKER_03: It's like, what?
- 2:38SPEAKER_03: Come on, come on, that's so much fun.
- 2:40SPEAKER_03: I like doing that, but anyway, he wasn't able to come in, but he is calling in and he's on a pretty good line.
- 2:44SPEAKER_03: So we we we tested it out, Jeff.
- 2:47SPEAKER_03: You're not gonna believe it.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: You know who we've got in the studio tonight?
- 2:51SPEAKER_03: Well, not in the phone.
- 2:52SPEAKER_03: Is it your dad?
- 2:54SPEAKER_03: You are so close, Jeff.
- 2:56SPEAKER_03: Because you know, last of course, last time we had my mom on, right?
- 2:59SPEAKER_03: You know who we've got on this show?
- 3:01SPEAKER_03: You're half right, it's a dad, but it's not mine, it's mine, your dad is on the show with us tonight.
- 3:09SPEAKER_03: Jerry, Jerry's on the show.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Jerry, welcome to believe it.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: How are you, Jerry?
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: Steve, Jeff.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness, Jeff, Jeffrey, Jeffrey, my young boy.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: How are you?
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: He's sounds like he's doing great.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, why would anybody think he was dead?
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: Listen to that voice, my gosh.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: I'll tell you what, I thought I was dead for a while there too.
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: I got in a fight with an alligator down here in Florida.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: Oh, you gotta watch those, yeah, at Disney World, I bet, right?
- 3:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I bet it was.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: And I'm in I'm in a state of shock right now.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Um, dad, first of all, I'm surprised that you're able to call in.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: You know, I mean, I don't think you're you're really up to speed on all the technology.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: What was it uh the last time I saw you?
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: You're like, what is this thing called?
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: This garage door opener, and how does it work?
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: And so are we uh does it open it up side?
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: Uh you know, and you were really confused.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: So, so my first question, dad, is anybody over there helping you set this thing up?
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Because they did a good job.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: You're here.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: It is a pretty good technical setup, yeah.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: Jeff, you know, I had a rotary phone long before a garage door opener, and I have been using it for years.
- 4:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, uh that's great.
- 4:24SPEAKER_03: I remember those rotary phones that we used to have a Kawanis phone, actually, where I was because we had different clubs and all, but but yeah, I remember those.
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: So yeah, so you did this all yourself.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I've been listening in to you guys.
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: I uh I miss hearing my boy's voice there, and uh my gosh, after after that run in with the gator, I uh I knew I just had to reach out.
- 4:45SPEAKER_03: Kind of humbles you, kind of puts you on pace with what's important, right?
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm I'm speechless, you know.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: I am so happy, you know.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Uh it's just another gift, you know, the gift of where I thought you were dead for 20 years, and then turns out you weren't dead, and now I didn't think that you were capable of doing much except be in Florida or whatever.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: But now you're here with us on this podcast.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: I am just so blessed.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: I cannot tell you how happy I am to hear your voice again and to be on our show.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Hey Jerry, you know, how are things in Florida?
- 5:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, is it pretty hot down there?
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: Hot.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, it's it is so hot and damp in Florida.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: We are hoping to be hit by a hurricane just to cool off.
- 5:34SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh, hot and damp.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, speaking of hot and damp, is mom still alive?
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: Because I I haven't spoken to her for a while either.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, your mother, she she did leave me after I got in that fight with that young college student, the gator.
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: You know, he plays for the gators.
- 5:53SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, it was a it wasn't a gator, it was a gator.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I oh I okay, as opposed to like a seminole, right?
- 6:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay.
- 6:00SPEAKER_03: I I know I think I follow this.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, very cool, dad.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Uh, just for the audience to a little background.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Uh, my father, Jerry.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: This is a again, so many questions I want to ask you that I probably should have asked you growing up.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: So you're Jerry, J-E-R-R-Y, but I saw when I thought you were dead, I saw your birth certificate and it's Gerald with a G.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: I don't know if I've ever known anyone spell their names differently on their formal name and their regular name.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: Is there a reason for that?
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh, damn.
- 6:40SPEAKER_03: If he's dead again, if he's dead again, Steve.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: Oh wow.
- 6:44SPEAKER_03: He died.
- 6:45SPEAKER_03: Oh no, no, wait, wait, I hear rumbling.
- 6:47SPEAKER_03: I hear rumbling.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: Guys, I've got rats, and one of them chewed through the telephone cord.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: I got the electrical tape real quick.
- 6:54SPEAKER_03: Oh, see, if you were in the studio here, I could give you this glue board and you'd take care of that rat.
- 6:58SPEAKER_03: Boy, that rat is stay put.
- 7:00SPEAKER_03: Let me tell you, my shoe is like I'm gonna have to wear this, I'm gonna have to learn to walk with this glue board.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: So you're you're good now, the rats are rats are gone.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: Rats are I kicked it with my shoe, and my foot was in the shoe.
- 7:11SPEAKER_03: Oh, well, that should that should do it.
- 7:14SPEAKER_03: That should do it.
- 7:15SPEAKER_03: Well, you know, you know, Jerry, uh, I don't know if you have listened to the shows, but we had my mom on last time and see, my mom is thinking about leaving my dad.
- 7:24SPEAKER_03: And so we're thinking, if you're available, Jerry, it might, it might be fun.
- 7:29SPEAKER_03: Just we'll introduce you to and we'll we'll just kind of see what happens.
- 7:32SPEAKER_03: Would you be able to say come up north for a visit?
- 7:36SPEAKER_03: I would I would love to join you in the colder climate.
- 7:39SPEAKER_03: If we do it early enough, it won't be too cold.
- 7:41SPEAKER_03: Uh maybe we'll do it with get together in the Chicago area somewhere, and we'll, you know, we'll we'll just kind of see what happens, you know.
- 7:47SPEAKER_03: I think that'd be fun.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Jeff and I'd be like stepbrothers, right?
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: I know, I know.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: And plus, dad, I know how much you you like young women.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: And uh what do you call them?
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: I there's tail.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: Is that the term that you use?
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: It's a weird I think that's a Florida term.
- 8:03SPEAKER_03: It's like is that a Florida term?
- 8:05SPEAKER_03: Is that like gator tail?
- 8:06SPEAKER_03: Gator tail, yeah.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: Gator tail, yeah.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: But uh there's a lot of really hot women both in Omaha and in Chicago, so you know, either place, uh, we could probably set up uh an interview session there.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: And when I say interview, dad, I think you know what I'm talking about.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Jeffy Jeff, you're always looking out for me.
- 8:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, and and and just to clarify, when Jeff's talking about young women, I it would be a little misleading to tell you that my mom is a young woman.
- 8:34SPEAKER_03: I mean, she's still quite good looking, but she's you know, I I wouldn't call her young, you know, you know, but she's probably a little younger than you, Jerry, maybe about or about the same age, maybe I don't know, not older, probably.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Steve, I've seen your pictures online, and if you got any looks from her, I'm in.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: Beautiful, beautiful.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Well, and and you know, in general, my rule of thumb is that any woman, no matter what they look like, if she's naked, is is good looking.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: So I think your mind's good looking.
- 9:03SPEAKER_03: Well, oh, oh, well, I you know, I do too.
- 9:06SPEAKER_03: Wait, what did I just admit to?
- 9:08SPEAKER_03: Wait, no.
- 9:09SPEAKER_03: Oh, you know, you know, you know, Jeff, while I recover, I I I I I may have to go back and edit some of this, but while while I recover, uh, you know, Jeff, we we have another a repeat sponsor.
- 9:23SPEAKER_03: We've got you remember uh Farmer Brute when they they did all the pharmacy?
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: Well, we've got another one.
- 9:29SPEAKER_03: Farmer Brute has been listening to the show like the zillions of others that Google diuretics doesn't count.
- 9:36SPEAKER_03: They just piss it away, but but or poop it away.
- 9:39SPEAKER_03: But I digress.
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: But yeah, but Farmer Brute heard our commercial about the dating services, and they said, you know, we have a pill for that.
- 9:48SPEAKER_03: And so, you know, it's just it's a whole it's this whole new product that they're bringing out.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: And and let's uh, you know what, let's just let's go to commercial.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 9:59SPEAKER_03: Are you still wasting all your time looking for a partner with nothing to show for it?
- 10:05SPEAKER_03: Do you envy your asexual friends because their days are not consumed by thoughts of sex?
- 10:11SPEAKER_03: You can ease the pain of trying to hook up with a simple pill we call perma-ace.
- 10:16SPEAKER_03: Permaace takes away your desire to hook up, it frees up your time and your mind so you can finally spend time on self-improvement.
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: Become a tennis star, a martial arts expert, even a commercial voiceover professional.
- 10:32SPEAKER_03: Wait.
- 10:32SPEAKER_03: Uh anyway, listen to some of these satisfied customers.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: My job is so demanding that I never had time for dating.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: I used to hate that, but now permace lets me work 24-7 without a thought about dating.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: I'm due for promotion soon.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Thanks, Permace.
- 10:49SPEAKER_03: My spouse was so demanding.
- 10:51SPEAKER_03: I used to resent him, but now we both take permace and we get along just fine.
- 10:56SPEAKER_03: I used to hate everyone I saw out on dates.
- 11:00SPEAKER_03: I still do, but with permace, it's now more of a general dislike.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: Find out for yourself.
- 11:06SPEAKER_03: Take the 42-day permace challenge.
- 11:09SPEAKER_03: Use permace every day for six weeks, and if you still feel a libido, we'll send you your money back.
- 11:16SPEAKER_03: So what do you have to lose other than a string of dreadful dates and hours wasted thinking about sex?
- 11:23SPEAKER_03: Set your mind and your time free with permease.
- 11:26SPEAKER_03: Use of permease by some persons can cause a dangerous condition called automotive dysphagia.
- 11:32SPEAKER_03: Stop use of the product if you feel a physical attraction to mid-60s cars.
- 11:36SPEAKER_03: Do not use if you are currently on MOLLE because, come on.
- 11:39SPEAKER_03: Possible side effects include sudden death, which could be a permanent condition.
- 11:44SPEAKER_03: Some patients in clinical studies developed an obsession with baking or with PBS documentaries.
- 11:49SPEAKER_03: Not recommended for patients over 60.
- 11:52SPEAKER_03: You know why, right?
- 11:54SPEAKER_03: Permace may be less effective if used in combination with THC and smooth jazz.
- 11:59SPEAKER_03: So try permace and take hooking up worries off the hook.
- 12:09SPEAKER_03: Well, now, Jerry, I don't want you using any of that permease before you meet my mom.
- 12:15SPEAKER_03: Because I'll tell you, you guys really might make it great together, you know.
- 12:20SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm looking forward to it.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: Really am.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: Really am.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Hey dad, so how's the house?
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: I haven't been to Florida for a while.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: Um, uh so mom's gone.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: And so are you in the house by yourself now?
- 12:32SPEAKER_02: I am.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: The uh the uh the the the ranch that I live in down there, uh with the uh the the the the gray siding, it's uh and and the bathroom is is just off the it's great.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: I'm loving it.
- 12:47SPEAKER_03: Oh he's got siding and a bathroom.
- 12:50SPEAKER_03: I mean that sounds like a beautiful place.
- 12:52SPEAKER_03: Sounds beautiful, but uh dad, that's that's not our house.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: That's uh uh you have a two-story.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: I mean, we I I've been there a million times and it was a two-story.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: Is did you did you move or have you always um how long have you been in this other house?
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: I uh I you know I got rid of the second story, is uh just thought the roof is so far away.
- 13:17SPEAKER_03: Well, and and that's probably better sense in hurricanes because then the roof can't blow off, it's it's already gone, right?
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Is is our dog how's how's uh what is her name again?
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: I I I you know I'm having a a brain cramp.
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry, her her name is Trixie.
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: Trixie, I have brought Trixie up to you, Steven.
- 13:39SPEAKER_02: Thank you for remembering.
- 13:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I thought you thought I heard about a some dog named Trixie.
- 13:43SPEAKER_03: Wait, was that you?
- 13:44SPEAKER_03: That wasn't you, Jeff, was it?
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: No, I think Trixie.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: I may have referred to a Trixie um as being a dog, but no, I don't think that's it.
- 13:54SPEAKER_03: Wasn't your actual dog though, yeah.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: No, no, that dad, I I think it was uh it wasn't Trixie, I think it was um uh uh Laurel.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: I think she's a golden.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: So yeah, and Laurel's right here.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's that that doesn't sound like Laurel.
- 14:14SPEAKER_03: It sounds like you sounding like well, you know what, you know they say when people live with animals for a long time, they start to look alike.
- 14:20SPEAKER_03: Maybe they maybe they start to sound alike too, you know?
- 14:22SPEAKER_03: They got the same voice.
- 14:23SPEAKER_03: Very pretty.
- 14:24SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 14:25SPEAKER_03: That that we should we should introduce her to my mom.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think that's a good idea.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: And so, dad, you're are you are you working now?
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: I know you're geez, you must be close to a hundred years old.
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: Uh are you what do you what are you doing to keep busy?
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: I uh I have been sweeping uh hair at the the barber shop uh down on the corner.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: What really do people still do that?
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: I don't even know if they even have like hair on for barber shops.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: That that doesn't sound like you, dad.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: Sweeping hair.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: Well, that's that's that's a change of pace for Jerry, I think, isn't it?
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: For a guy who you know didn't have any hair himself, that is kind of weird, unless you're gonna sweep it up and glue it onto your head, which is a potential business venture that Steve, we should talk about someday, and maybe we could have an advertiser.
- 15:18SPEAKER_03: You know, we could get a supply of hair from the barber shop and we could glue it onto heads.
- 15:23SPEAKER_03: And I think Jerry could supply it for us.
- 15:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we could call it Jerry Curl.
- 15:28SPEAKER_03: Wait, let's take it.
- 15:30SPEAKER_03: Wait, we could call it, we could call it Jerry's hair, we could call it here's Jerry.
- 15:36SPEAKER_03: Oh no, wait, wait.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: I go out.
- 15:38SPEAKER_03: We'll we'll come over the name.
- 15:38SPEAKER_03: I digress, but anyway, anyway.
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: I don't want to interrupt this father-son reunion here.
- 15:43SPEAKER_03: This is this is beautiful.
- 15:44SPEAKER_03: This is what this show is all about.
- 15:46SPEAKER_03: This is the family, this is the core, this is the values, this is the basics that we're all about.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: All right, all right.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: After all of those words, and as a person that hates to admit he had has a great set of hair, I uh I'm not actually Jerry.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: What not yeah, you're Gerald, right?
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: You're Gerald, right?
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I get it.
- 16:11SPEAKER_03: He didn't want to be Jerry with a G because that sounds female, you know.
- 16:15SPEAKER_03: I it's yeah, it's this whole societal pressure thing, you know.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: I understand dad.
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: Who cares, really, right?
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: I mean I don't care what you call yourself dad, you know, I still love you.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm I'm beginning to love you too, Jeff, but I am not your father.
- 16:29SPEAKER_03: Well, you you suspected that for a long time, Jeff.
- 16:33SPEAKER_03: I mean, uh, you know, you you said I don't think it's really my dad.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Well, and I I thought for a second for a while there, I thought that that 23andMe were was just wrong, you know.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: But so, dad, in my mind, you're still my dad because I mean you raised me, whether you know, biologically you're my father or not.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: I really don't think that matters.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: You're still my father, and that's what I love about you.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: So don't worry about that.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, your secret is safe with me about you not being my biological father, but uh it's okay, dad.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: Don't worry about it.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, god dang.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: I'm I am beginning to love you, Jeff.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: I need you to refer to me as veto, uh, and uh, and I also need some help getting out of this joint.
- 17:18SPEAKER_03: Well, well, Jeff, Jeff, I I think I don't think this is your dad.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: I think you know, I think this is veto sangrini.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: The veto sangrini that wrote us, the wrote us email you and Joliat, you're you're at Statesville now, right?
- 17:33SPEAKER_02: I would say here in the flesh, but I'm still on the phone.
- 17:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, oh man, wow.
- 17:38SPEAKER_03: Now now, Vito, I I just want to make sure that you're the one I remember.
- 17:41SPEAKER_03: You you lived in Rogers Park, right?
- 17:44SPEAKER_03: That's me.
- 17:44SPEAKER_03: Sen High School.
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: Yep, okay.
- 17:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I know this guy.
- 17:48SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah.
- 17:49SPEAKER_03: Oh, hey Jeff, you better be careful.
- 17:51SPEAKER_03: I remember this guy.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: You know, though, Steve, it's kind of uh I I'm conflicted.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: On one hand, I was I really wanted to talk to my father, and I I felt that Vito was my father.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: On the other hand, Vito, you sound pretty damn good.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: If you wanted to be my father, I'd be honored.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: I am such a huge fan of you guys.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: They actually let us listen to the podcasts in the pen.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: And yeah, that's nice.
- 18:18SPEAKER_03: Oh, we got a lot of fans there, yeah.
- 18:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, great.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: So so I think in some ways, Steve, I've gained a father.
- 18:25SPEAKER_03: Well, and and Jeff, you know, uh Jerry, uh I I just one question because I you know, I could I could easily join Jeff's fandom and declare that you are for all practical purposes, his new father.
- 18:39SPEAKER_03: But but just one question.
- 18:41SPEAKER_03: Jerry, when we were kids, we were like 16, I'd sometimes go over to Jeff's house.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: Jeff wasn't home.
- 18:47SPEAKER_03: His dad, if his dad was home, Jerry'd say, Yeah, come on in anyway.
- 18:51SPEAKER_03: And he he let me drink scotch.
- 18:52SPEAKER_03: We'd sit around drinking scotch.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: Sure.
- 18:55SPEAKER_03: Would if if we were together, would you would you give me a scotch?
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: If you're bringing it, I'd let you have some.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: That's good enough for me.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: You're in, vito.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: And it sounds like veto has uh, you know, he's attracted to the the feminine side of of the world, you know, the tail looking for tail, like my dad was.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: And in some ways, I think it's a little weird to be out looking for women when uh with your father, but vito doesn't have to be my father when we go out looking for women, right?
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: So we're just friends, he's a 90-year-old, 80-year-old, whatever you are.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: How old are you, Vito?
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: I am 75.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: 75, young, yeah.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: He'd be a young dad for us, he'd be a little young, but hey, you know, Jeff, I just have to ask, please don't tell people you have two dads.
- 19:48SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 19:50SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, you can't say that in Florida.
- 19:52SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, no, no.
- 19:53SPEAKER_03: You cannot say that.
- 19:54SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry, in fact, I'm surprised.
- 19:56SPEAKER_03: Well, he's not in Florida.
- 19:57SPEAKER_03: I was just saying, I'm surprised they let you get away with that.
- 19:59SPEAKER_03: But you're at Statesville.
- 20:00SPEAKER_03: You say anything in Statesville, yeah.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: And and and there may be times, uh, dad.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Can I call you dad?
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: Please, it's comforting now.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: So there may be times when we're gonna yeah, we're gonna have to kind of, you know, there are I have relatives, I have friends who uh they they met my father, but probably don't remember him exactly.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: And I'd like to just kind of introduce you as my father.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: You know, there's a couple things about my father that I I think he probably would work out well.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: He had a very large penis.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: Uh, so if we are ever in a situation where, you know, like we're in a swimming pool or you know, in a sauna or whatever, are you pretty well equipped, Dad?
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: Because that you know, that would be a dead giveaway if you know if you didn't have a big penis, too.
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: You know, I've got very few shortcomings, but I do know a guy at a butcher shop, so I can find filler.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: Ah, okay.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: Well, this has become just a wonderful day.
- 20:56SPEAKER_03: And and and and you know, vito, I I don't think, or maybe I'll just call you Jerry.
- 21:02SPEAKER_03: Why not?
- 21:03SPEAKER_03: You know, you know, Jerry, don't worry about that.
- 21:06SPEAKER_03: My mom will be upset you're in Statesville, because you know, my mom one of the reasons she's leaving my dad is she never knows where he is, and she'll always know where you are.
- 21:15SPEAKER_03: It's perfect.
- 21:16SPEAKER_03: I think this really could work out.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: Something about that, boys.
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: I uh I'm getting out soon and uh kind of tough out there finding a job for convicts.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: You could probably work for us.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: I mean, the the letter that you sent us, the email, it was uh that was you, right, vito?
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Asked uh telling us that you wanted to work with us.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Um well you have proven yourself, Steve.
- 21:43SPEAKER_03: I mean, oh yeah, he said a home run.
- 21:45SPEAKER_03: Oh yes, yes.
- 21:47SPEAKER_03: I mean, not only he said he could provide guests, and he did.
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: He provided your dad as a guest.
- 21:53SPEAKER_03: Yes, that's that's one of the best job interviews I've ever seen.
- 21:56SPEAKER_03: I think, I think, vito or Jerry, I think you're hired.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: I think you can start working immediately.
- 22:02SPEAKER_03: Stupendus, yeah.
- 22:04SPEAKER_03: So, you know, let us know who we can get for next week, but but yeah, I think you're I think you're good.
- 22:08SPEAKER_03: I think come right aboard.
- 22:10SPEAKER_03: Now we we we don't have any money.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: You know, I want to I want to sleep in the studio, that'd be very wonderful.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: I don't need pay.
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: Okay, well, you know, eccentric Lady Land Studios here, they might they might object, but I've hey not like I haven't done it, okay.
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: You know, yeah, I think you could get away with it.
- 22:28SPEAKER_03: Uh because really nobody's around here, nobody much cares, really.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: So yeah, and I think you'd be very comfortable here because we have a uh I know that Joliet probably has a very large rodent infestation.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: Um, and we have that in our studio, Steve.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: We have all kinds of vermin uh running around.
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: So uh Jerry, vito, dad.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: Um, I think that you would feel very comfortable uh sleeping on the floor next to the the glue traps and the cages.
- 22:55SPEAKER_03: You got to be careful when you roll over, don't hit that glue trap because it'll it will stay with you.
- 23:00SPEAKER_03: I in fact, I think I wonder if I stepped on a glue trap that there was a little rodent in, because it's like the trap's kind of moving on my shoe now.
- 23:09SPEAKER_03: It's like I I'm not sure what this is.
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: This is strange.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: And if you roll over on your back, I mean, vito, I don't know.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: I'm not stereotyping, but my sense you're probably Italian may have some back hair, those glue traps can be really painful.
- 23:26SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, completely.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: Always so this has turned out to be just the best, maybe the best day of my life, and I owe it all to you.
- 23:38SPEAKER_03: And we're here, Jerry to share that with you.
- 23:41SPEAKER_03: Isn't that beautiful, Jerry, veto, dad?
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: So glad I could be your father.
- 23:47SPEAKER_02: Wonderful, yeah.
- 23:48SPEAKER_03: Well, and you know, we're we're just about to get kicked out of eccentric Lady Land Studios here, but but I am just so excited about this reunion and a possible union with my mom.
- 23:59SPEAKER_03: So we'll all be related.
- 24:01SPEAKER_03: Isn't that just like I don't know, hillbilly or something, but we'll all be related.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: But it's a family show.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: I mean, Steve, you and I have always said it's all about family and prisoners.
- 24:13SPEAKER_03: It is, it is and and hey, you know, we're we're about to get booted, but but listen, we will be back next time with another exciting guest, and I can't thank you enough, Jerry Vito.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: Thanks, Jerry Vito.
- 24:26SPEAKER_03: I love you both.
- 24:28SPEAKER_03: Hey, go send bulldogs, man.
- 24:29SPEAKER_03: Send bulldogs.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, bye now.
- 24:33SPEAKER_03: Bye.
