- 0:01Speaker 1: And she said, no, it's about the people. It's about
- 0:03Speaker 1: people who play, coach and are in sports. And that
- 0:07Speaker 1: really stuck with me and I've tried to model my
- 0:09Speaker 1: entire journalism career around that, that it's really about the
- 0:12Speaker 1: people and that everyone has a story. So thanks for
- 0:15Speaker 1: inspiring me and Killian and being a mentor of mine.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Oh, Greg, we've known each other a really long time.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what that means too. That's true. I saw
- 0:27Speaker 1: Anne Killyan in the press box and then the mix
- 0:29Speaker 1: zone at the US Australia game at Lumenfield where before
- 0:33Speaker 1: the match on Friday, and you posted on Twitter x
- 0:36Speaker 1: that Seattle has the best football stadium slash soccer stadium
- 0:40Speaker 1: in the country the venue, the atmosphere and everything, and
- 0:44Speaker 1: Friday didn't disappoint that.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Why do you think that, Well, your stadium has always
- 0:49Speaker 2: been my favorite stadium in the country, and usually I'm
- 0:52Speaker 2: there for a Seahawks forty nine er game. But I
- 0:55Speaker 2: just think it is the perfect meld of city and stadium.
- 1:05Speaker 2: It just if you feel like you're in Seattle, you're
- 1:09Speaker 2: right downtown, You've got great access on public transit and
- 1:13Speaker 2: the you know, ferries and walking. If you're staying downtown,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and you know, the vibe is just always great, Like
- 1:20Speaker 2: game day vibe in Seattle is you know, unparalleled. Everyone's out,
- 1:26Speaker 2: everyone's got a jersey on, everyone's drinking coffee or beer
- 1:29Speaker 2: or whatever their drink of choices, and it's just it's
- 1:33Speaker 2: it's like an energy vibe. And now, you know, and
- 1:39Speaker 2: I haven't I think I've seen one Talker game there before,
- 1:42Speaker 2: but so my soccer history with Seattle is not long.
- 1:45Speaker 2: But that was just a fantastic vibe. I'd been at
- 1:49Speaker 2: so far with the US team the week before, and
- 1:52Speaker 2: that was you know, it was good. It was full,
- 1:54Speaker 2: and you know, it was a lively, lively crowd. But
- 1:57Speaker 2: it's indoor. It's you know, a little fancier, a little sterile.
- 2:02Speaker 3: But I just I just.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Think I love that. You know, it looks like the
- 2:07Speaker 2: US should be back there for a Round of sixteen game.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I mean not to not to jump too far ahead,
- 2:13Speaker 2: but you know, they won their group. They're going to
- 2:15Speaker 2: play a third place team here in the Bay Area,
- 2:17Speaker 2: and then their next game.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Would be July sixth, sixth in in Seattle.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And I just think it's going to be another showcase
- 2:26Speaker 2: for just a fabulous stadium, And you know, I mean,
- 2:30Speaker 2: being from San Francisco, I often think, not often, every
- 2:35Speaker 2: time I'm there, I think, geez, the forty nine ers
- 2:38Speaker 2: could have done something like this in San Francisco, and
- 2:41Speaker 2: instead they chose to go fifty miles south to Santa
- 2:45Speaker 2: Clara and to a place that has no atmosphere and
- 2:48Speaker 2: no game day vibe and no you know, no beautiful
- 2:51Speaker 2: views and no feel of the city that they wear.
- 2:54Speaker 3: On their uniforms.
- 2:55Speaker 2: So I just think, I think I'm a big fan.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I'm a big fan. And I didn't know until I
- 3:01Speaker 2: tweeted that that some Seattle people were like, yeah, and
- 3:04Speaker 2: the idiots here talking about replacing it?
- 3:06Speaker 1: Is that true?
- 3:07Speaker 4: No?
- 3:07Speaker 1: That was one sets rucker sham throw out of a
- 3:10Speaker 1: new owner of the Seahawks maybe looking at potentially replacing
- 3:13Speaker 1: the stadiums Okay, actually there's been no other.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Yeah, that was one one off.
- 3:18Speaker 1: And where would you would And.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Now that now that they put natural grass in for
- 3:23Speaker 2: the World Cup, please keep it? Yes, how can Seattle
- 3:26Speaker 2: not have natural grass and of the perfect irrigation systems?
- 3:30Speaker 1: You are right about that. And there are a lot
- 3:32Speaker 1: of people, including those I cover on the Seahawks, who
- 3:35Speaker 1: absolutely agree with you.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I think the NFL if they go back and they
- 3:40Speaker 2: and they replace tear out all these beautiful turf stadiums
- 3:45Speaker 2: and put it back in plastic turf, it's just it's
- 3:48Speaker 2: going to be it's going to be a crime. Because
- 3:50Speaker 2: every play the Players Association just has to be stronger
- 3:53Speaker 2: about it. Every player wants to play on grass. And
- 3:56Speaker 2: you know, here are the soccer players, the other football players,
- 4:01Speaker 2: they will not play not on grass. They refuse to
- 4:04Speaker 2: play on our official surface. So because they you know,
- 4:07Speaker 2: they know that it will take years off of their career,
- 4:11Speaker 2: and the NFL just they need to really demand this.
- 4:16Speaker 2: It's not like they don't have enough money.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Great exactly and they absolutely could afford it, but they
- 4:21Speaker 1: want to keep all the money for themselves.
- 4:22Speaker 5: That's how they became billionaires. But J. C.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Tratdter has talked about this issue, the president of the
- 4:27Speaker 1: new President of Players Association. But and would you think
- 4:30Speaker 1: they need to go to collective bargaining and then hold
- 4:32Speaker 1: out and say, hey, you won an eighteenth game and
- 4:34Speaker 1: all these other bells and whistles you want in a
- 4:36Speaker 1: new CBA put grass in on every field. Why wouldn't
- 4:39Speaker 1: they just make that a CBA issue, like a draw
- 4:41Speaker 1: line and sand on it.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Well, I think it's come up, but it's just never
- 4:45Speaker 2: been a draw Yeah, it's never been a draw line
- 4:47Speaker 2: in the sand. And I would think, you know, if
- 4:50Speaker 2: they really and we know that they are going to
- 4:52Speaker 2: try to go to eighteen games, at some point there
- 4:55Speaker 2: has to be concessions made to players health and longevity,
- 4:59Speaker 2: and I would think this would be a very big one.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I mean, the one thing I can say about Levi's
- 5:04Speaker 2: and I can't say a lot nice about it, but
- 5:07Speaker 2: it has it finally. It took a couple of years,
- 5:09Speaker 2: but it finally has a beautiful grass field and players
- 5:14Speaker 2: who come to play on it, and probably the Seahawks
- 5:16Speaker 2: said after the Super Bowl, it's nice, they feel better,
- 5:20Speaker 2: it's more forgiving, it's a better surface to play on.
- 5:24Speaker 2: And we've seen the gruesome injuries that can occur on turf.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I mean, you know, injuries will occur anywhere it's football,
- 5:30Speaker 2: but it seems just that there are way more acls
- 5:34Speaker 2: and achilles and all sorts of things happening on really
- 5:38Speaker 2: bad sake grass.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I know multiple Seahawk players who say that turf at
- 5:43Speaker 1: Lean Vis Stadium is the best in the NFL, and
- 5:46Speaker 1: they say it during a regular SeAsTe before the NFL
- 5:48Speaker 1: takes it over.
- 5:49Speaker 2: And Kelly, they spent a lot of money to get it.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Right, Sure did, one team did anyway, And Kelly and
- 5:55Speaker 1: the San Francisco Chronicle joining us in the Beacon Plumbing
- 5:57Speaker 1: Hotline live here on ninety three point three, kJ. Are
- 5:59Speaker 1: you been with the US National team for a while
- 6:01Speaker 1: most of this month and before that previous worke up?
- 6:04Speaker 1: They're headquarters as Fayetteville, Georgia, just south of Atlanta. As
- 6:09Speaker 1: you probably know, what would stop them from moving to
- 6:12Speaker 1: Seattle and making this a permanent home for the US
- 6:16Speaker 1: national team and the headquarters and the feeder teams and
- 6:19Speaker 1: taken capitalizing on what everyone said was the greatest soccer
- 6:22Speaker 1: environment in the country has ever seen.
- 6:24Speaker 5: On Friday?
- 6:26Speaker 3: What would stop them?
- 6:27Speaker 2: They just built a billion dollar palace in Atlanta. That
- 6:31Speaker 2: would stop them? Yeah, I mean, you know, as you know,
- 6:33Speaker 2: they've been based in Chicago forever, and you know, I
- 6:36Speaker 2: think a lot of people were kind of surprised that
- 6:38Speaker 2: they went to Atlanta. Everyone says they're training facilities are
- 6:42Speaker 2: just state of the art, and you know, they have
- 6:44Speaker 2: all these fields and all this land. It's probably a
- 6:47Speaker 2: amount of land issue of what they could get. But yeah,
- 6:52Speaker 2: given you know, sheet and everything else, it seems a
- 6:57Speaker 2: little odd you're going to somewhere that's you know, can
- 7:02Speaker 2: be tough to play in at certain times. But yeah,
- 7:06Speaker 2: so I don't think they're going to uproot again, Greg,
- 7:08Speaker 2: not in not in my lifetime probably.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Which either And this US team has captured the imagination
- 7:16Speaker 1: even casual sports fans. Now how far you think they go?
- 7:19Speaker 1: What do you like about this team that's different? And
- 7:21Speaker 1: how much Hasino the coach just changed it himself.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I think Pochattino has been great and that nobody knew
- 7:30Speaker 2: if that was going to be the case. I mean,
- 7:32Speaker 2: he only had twenty months to put this team together.
- 7:35Speaker 3: This has been you.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Know, an erratic I mean by every other metric. Soccer
- 7:40Speaker 2: has exploded in this country since the nineteen ninety four
- 7:43Speaker 2: World Cup. You know, the number of people, number of
- 7:45Speaker 2: kids playing, the number of people playing, the number you know,
- 7:48Speaker 2: the we have a professional league, we have you know,
- 7:52Speaker 2: so many people just are absorbed on weekends watching your
- 7:56Speaker 2: you know, Premier league soccer. We're much more knowledgeable, like
- 8:00Speaker 2: a thousand times more knowledgeable than we were but the
- 8:04Speaker 2: one metric that hasn't changed is our World Cup progress.
- 8:07Speaker 2: And we've never gotten past the round of sixteen except
- 8:12Speaker 2: once in two thousand and two with a really young
- 8:18Speaker 2: team and a very a couple of very fortunate bounces
- 8:22Speaker 2: in a great opponent in you know, facing a Conker
- 8:28Speaker 2: CAF opponent in Mexico in the round of sixteen, which
- 8:32Speaker 2: is you know, doesn't usually happen. So that was the
- 8:36Speaker 2: only time we've gotten pasted. And every other time we've
- 8:38Speaker 2: you know, either been grouped or we've been bounced in
- 8:42Speaker 2: the round of sixteen. This team, we know, is by
- 8:47Speaker 2: far the most experienced and skilled professional group we've ever had.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Most of these guys have been pros since they were teenagers.
- 8:56Speaker 2: They're playing in Europe, they're playing in the biggest clubs.
- 8:58Speaker 2: You know, they have all this experience. So the material
- 9:02Speaker 2: is there for a good team. But you didn't know
- 9:04Speaker 2: with Pochattino. You know, he comes in, they have the
- 9:07Speaker 2: Gold Cup last summer, and and and he's you know,
- 9:12Speaker 2: trying out all these guys. He's got guys in and out,
- 9:14Speaker 2: in and out, in and out, and then a lot
- 9:16Speaker 2: of guys, including Pulistics, say they don't want to play
- 9:19Speaker 2: last summer, and which you know causes all this controversy.
- 9:23Speaker 2: How can you not want to play when this is
- 9:25Speaker 2: so critical? You know, they didn't have to go through qualifying.
- 9:28Speaker 2: They really had no difficult games, like no real test
- 9:31Speaker 2: in put Chattino's entire tenure, and so I think we
- 9:36Speaker 2: didn't know. And I think he's really pushed the right buttons.
- 9:40Speaker 2: They're playing a European style. They looked their their skills
- 9:44Speaker 2: are on exhibit, and so I think he gets a
- 9:48Speaker 2: lot of credit. He's I don't know, if you know,
- 9:51Speaker 2: he's he's difficult to quote. He's he's a rambler. He's
- 9:58Speaker 2: in and out of two languages. So I don't really know,
- 10:01Speaker 2: Like I couldn't really tell you what his tactics are
- 10:04Speaker 2: or what his approaches. But whatever he's doing, he seems
- 10:06Speaker 2: to have gotten through to these guys, and they seem
- 10:09Speaker 2: to be playing as one. There's see. I was down
- 10:11Speaker 2: there in Irvine at their camp the week before the
- 10:15Speaker 2: LA game, and there seems to be a real unity
- 10:18Speaker 2: with them. A lot of them, you know, have been
- 10:22Speaker 2: playing together since, you know, like U fourteen National or whatever,
- 10:26Speaker 2: U seventeen National. They've known each other all their lives,
- 10:29Speaker 2: so there is a chemistry there. Whatever little weirdness happened
- 10:35Speaker 2: posts twenty twenty two World Cup seems to have dissipated,
- 10:41Speaker 2: and I think, yeah, I think I think they're ready
- 10:46Speaker 2: to kind of, you know, take another step. I mean,
- 10:49Speaker 2: there's some real talent on the on the team, and
- 10:53Speaker 2: uh yeah, it's it's it's pretty fun to watch. I mean,
- 10:56Speaker 2: most of America knows one guy, Pulistic, right because every
- 11:00Speaker 2: time you turn on the TV, he's on TV, but
- 11:04Speaker 2: he's in an ad. But most of I think people,
- 11:07Speaker 2: except for super hardcore soccer fans, are just kind of
- 11:11Speaker 2: getting to know these guys.
- 11:12Speaker 3: And yeah, it's a fun little ride to be on.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Valguan is incredible on the ball. He's just he took
- 11:19Speaker 1: over the game in Australia in the first half and
- 11:22Speaker 1: just ram down the side of the Australian defense.
- 11:24Speaker 3: And Covert is amazing.
- 11:26Speaker 5: He is really good.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Who's your favorite one to cover? I mean Tim Reim
- 11:31Speaker 1: has thirty eight, been on a few World Cup teams
- 11:33Speaker 1: of that turn that you've covered many times. I saw
- 11:35Speaker 1: you in the mix zone talking to him after the
- 11:37Speaker 1: match on Friday. Who's the most compelling personality or just
- 11:41Speaker 1: someone you really like.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Covering on that team.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Well, you know, I'm just getting to know them. I
- 11:46Speaker 2: really don't know them. I like I've covered in the
- 11:49Speaker 2: last ten years, I've covered way more US women's games
- 11:55Speaker 2: than the men's games, and feel like I know that
- 11:57Speaker 2: team a lot better.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Large You've watched better soccer doing that too, exactly.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I mean when during the Paraguay game uh in La,
- 12:07Speaker 2: I turned to a US soccer official that we both
- 12:11Speaker 2: know who is the press officer for the women's team
- 12:14Speaker 2: and is helping out with the men's and I said,
- 12:16Speaker 2: oh my gosh, this is like watching the team that
- 12:18Speaker 2: you're in charge of. They're playing so they're being so dominant,
- 12:22Speaker 2: which you know has not happened in many World Cup
- 12:25Speaker 2: games for the US men. Yeah. I like Valligan. I
- 12:31Speaker 2: like his story, and I like his his attitude and
- 12:34Speaker 2: he he Yeah, he seems like a super team player.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I like Chris Richards, he's good to talk to. Tyler
- 12:40Speaker 2: Adams is really good to talk to too. So yeah, Helistic
- 12:45Speaker 2: seems that like although he says good you know, he's quotable,
- 12:49Speaker 2: he says interesting things. He seems like a very reluctant
- 12:52Speaker 2: h superstar. He he is the focal point of the
- 12:56Speaker 2: team and has been for you know, since he was
- 12:59Speaker 2: a team nature for a decade. But I don't think
- 13:04Speaker 2: he's fully comfortable with that. So I think, you know,
- 13:08Speaker 2: some of these other guys are feel a little easier
- 13:10Speaker 2: with what they say and how they interact with the media.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I think Pelistic probably because he's had so much of
- 13:18Speaker 2: it for so long, is it seems a little weary
- 13:21Speaker 2: of being the focal point. But yeah, I mean in
- 13:25Speaker 2: terms of who I like to cover, I mean, I'm
- 13:27Speaker 2: just learning them pretty much myself right now.
- 13:31Speaker 5: And I have to.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Ask you what's going on with the Giants and especially
- 13:34Speaker 1: I mean, we saw what happened. I didn't want to
- 13:38Speaker 1: come out of Devs, didn't want to come out of
- 13:39Speaker 1: the game the other night. But that was just a
- 13:41Speaker 1: minor thing compared to what happened on Friday and Pride Night.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Of all places, San Francisco, you were to calm about
- 13:48Speaker 1: the situation, giants pictures writing Biblical verses on their hats and.
- 13:53Speaker 5: All of it.
- 13:53Speaker 1: What's going on there and what's the fallout in of
- 13:56Speaker 1: all cities to do that in San.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Francisco, Well, it's the fallout is still happening. I mean,
- 14:03Speaker 2: people were very upset. Pride Night goes back, you know,
- 14:06Speaker 2: a version of some sort of Pride Night or or
- 14:08Speaker 2: Gay Community Night has gone back to nineteen ninety four
- 14:12Speaker 2: with the Giants. So they started until There's a Cure
- 14:15Speaker 2: Night for AIDS awareness and every year they have something
- 14:21Speaker 2: some sort of night, and it's usually in June in
- 14:24Speaker 2: Pride months. And you know, they have a huge segment
- 14:28Speaker 2: of their very loyal fan base, paying customers identify with
- 14:35Speaker 2: the gay community, and I would say the probably the
- 14:39Speaker 2: majority of their fans in general identify with inclusiveness, right.
- 14:46Speaker 2: And you know, I've gotten all these letters from people
- 14:49Speaker 2: who are upset, who you know, aren't part of the
- 14:52Speaker 2: gay community, but they want their team to be, you know,
- 14:56Speaker 2: to stand for that and have embraced that part of
- 15:00Speaker 2: their team. So yeah, they've got a lot of people
- 15:04Speaker 2: really upset. They've been getting tons of letters and feedback
- 15:07Speaker 2: and so far the Giant's front office hasn't been responding,
- 15:12Speaker 2: which is very unlike them because they're usually very good
- 15:14Speaker 2: at damage control.
- 15:16Speaker 3: UH Buster Posey has availability today at.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Two o'clock and that's going to be the first time
- 15:21Speaker 2: that anyone from management leadership will. Besides the manager, who's
- 15:27Speaker 2: a rookie of course right out of the college game
- 15:30Speaker 2: and probably didn't know how to handle it, hasn't really
- 15:33Speaker 2: handled it great since Tony Vitello.
- 15:36Speaker 3: So uh yeah, the fallout.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Still continues, and we're going to see I know that
- 15:42Speaker 2: there's a protest planned outside the stadium today because I
- 15:46Speaker 2: feel like people don't don't feel like the team is
- 15:51Speaker 2: is kind of answering to the people who you know,
- 15:55Speaker 2: pay exorbitant prices and buy all the rainbow colored merchandise
- 15:59Speaker 2: that they put out, and you know, you have been
- 16:02Speaker 2: extremely supportive of this team, and you know, have been
- 16:05Speaker 2: feeling you know, they're like, even despite their horrible record
- 16:10Speaker 2: this year, they're like sixth.
- 16:11Speaker 3: In attendance or something.
- 16:12Speaker 2: So you know, they have a fan base, and they're
- 16:18Speaker 2: usually quite good at courting that fan base and answering
- 16:22Speaker 2: to that fan base and doing damage control of things
- 16:24Speaker 2: that are not going well, and something there's some disconnect
- 16:29Speaker 2: that's happening right now, and I'm not entirely sure why.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Very unusual that Mike Krukat, a long time Giants broadcast
- 16:37Speaker 1: and former pitcher who employed by the team, was very
- 16:40Speaker 1: outspoken and how insensitive the writings on.
- 16:45Speaker 5: The caps were.
- 16:45Speaker 1: And then there's of course the other side of it
- 16:47Speaker 1: that there's pictures have the right to express themselves as well.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Is there any argument to be made.
- 16:52Speaker 3: For that, Well, they don't.
- 16:56Speaker 2: You don't have the right to alter your uniform. And
- 16:58Speaker 2: it's just basic professional sports if you alter your uniform
- 17:03Speaker 2: in any way, for even like to write high mom
- 17:06Speaker 2: on it.
- 17:08Speaker 3: But it's not okay in professional sports. Right.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Do they have the right to have an opinion?
- 17:12Speaker 3: Sure?
- 17:13Speaker 2: Sure, and I would say most you know, if they
- 17:18Speaker 2: had strong objections they I think I think there was
- 17:21Speaker 2: a lack of communication, like especially with a new manager
- 17:25Speaker 2: and with a lot of young players. You know, I
- 17:28Speaker 2: don't know, And this is what I would like to
- 17:29Speaker 2: find out. Did anyone sit down anyone from the front
- 17:33Speaker 2: office or Buster Posey who played for teams that wore
- 17:38Speaker 2: the Pride uniform, like I mean, did anyone sit down
- 17:42Speaker 2: and say, look, this is a really important thing for
- 17:44Speaker 2: a community. You guys might have certain feelings about it,
- 17:46Speaker 2: but you know, this is the situation and these.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Are your options. And it doesn't sound like that happened.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Do they have the right to express their point of view?
- 17:56Speaker 2: Sure they do, But you know, why are you doing it?
- 18:00Speaker 2: It was basically like turning around. I mean, you know,
- 18:03Speaker 2: everyone who bought a ticket that night knew they were
- 18:06Speaker 2: buying a ticket for Pride Night. And everyone most people
- 18:10Speaker 2: or lots of people were wearing the rainbow jerseys. They've
- 18:14Speaker 2: sold so much of that stuff of you know, rainbow
- 18:17Speaker 2: accented gear. People were. They had same sex couples renewing
- 18:22Speaker 2: their valves on the field before the game. I mean,
- 18:25Speaker 2: you know, it was a celebration night, and those guys
- 18:28Speaker 2: basically turned around and flipped the bird to the to
- 18:32Speaker 2: to their customers, to the people who pay their salaries
- 18:34Speaker 2: and so. Do they have the right to express their opinions, Sure,
- 18:37Speaker 2: sure they do, But was that the appropriate place to
- 18:40Speaker 2: do it? Probably not. I mean, what if on Jackie
- 18:44Speaker 2: Robinson Day, some guys says, I don't I don't want
- 18:46Speaker 2: to wear number forty two because I don't believe that
- 18:49Speaker 2: baseball should have been sacre but should have been integrated.
- 18:53Speaker 2: You know, I mean, how are they going to go
- 18:54Speaker 2: with that? What about you know, when they make them
- 18:56Speaker 2: wear these faux military camouflage for on ing the veterans.
- 19:01Speaker 2: You know, what if people like to face those and
- 19:04Speaker 2: said you know, screw the US military warmongering nation. Would
- 19:10Speaker 2: would the team be, you know, support that? Or what
- 19:13Speaker 2: if they have a Jewish heritage.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Night coming up?
- 19:16Speaker 2: What if someone you know started writing anti Semitic stuff
- 19:19Speaker 2: on their uniform.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I mean it's just.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Do you have the right to express yourself?
- 19:24Speaker 3: Sure? Are you?
- 19:26Speaker 2: Is there going to be a backlash to it if
- 19:28Speaker 2: you do it in a very clumsy way that that
- 19:33Speaker 2: doesn't seem to acknowledge that? And then and then these
- 19:38Speaker 2: guys made it worse by spouting things like about choice
- 19:41Speaker 2: and morality, so you know, just super dogless the words
- 19:47Speaker 2: when in terms of homophobia. So it's just it's it's
- 19:51Speaker 2: not been a it's it's not been a very uh
- 19:55Speaker 2: pleasant past week for for the Giants. They went on
- 19:58Speaker 2: the road right away and today is the stay there back.
- 20:01Speaker 1: You'll be talking to Buster Posy this afternoon once again
- 20:04Speaker 1: and Kellyan proving that it's the people in sports, not
- 20:07Speaker 1: the sports, that is really what we do. And thank
- 20:09Speaker 1: you so much. It's long overdue to get you on
- 20:11Speaker 1: our show and it's great to talk to You're great
- 20:13Speaker 1: to see again. And I guess if all goes off
- 20:15Speaker 1: for the US, I'll see you on July six back
- 20:17Speaker 1: up here in Seattle.
- 20:18Speaker 2: It sounds like there's a good chance I'll see you
- 20:20Speaker 2: all right.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Thanks great, Thank.
- 20:21Speaker 1: You Anne very much and Kellyan, longtime Bay area sports
- 20:24Speaker 1: columnists now the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Jose Mercury News.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Before that, talking about all that's going on in the
- 20:30Speaker 1: Bay Area, including the US and Turkey tomorrow excuse me,
- 20:34Speaker 1: US and Turkey is in Los Angeles tomorrow. Then the
- 20:36Speaker 1: Round of thirty two match July first in Santa Clara
- 20:38Speaker 1: that Anne will be covering. If they win that the
- 20:41Speaker 1: United States will then play in the Round of sixteen
- 20:43Speaker 1: match here at Lumenfield on July the sixth, and what
- 20:47Speaker 1: would be just an absolutely off the hook sports extravaganza
- 20:50Speaker 1: four nine, four or five one of the Comatadge tech line.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Some of you have opinions on what Anne Killian and
- 20:54Speaker 1: I were just speaking about with the giants and their
- 20:57Speaker 1: pitchers and their biblicult verses on their hats a pride
- 21:00Speaker 1: night in San Francisco last Friday. We'll read back your
- 21:04Speaker 1: text on the Tacoma Doadge Tex Line next on ninety
- 21:06Speaker 1: three point three KJRFM, Welcome back to the Greg Best
- 21:12Speaker 1: Show with Christopher kid Laugh on ninety three point three
- 21:14Speaker 1: KJR FM. If you've missed any of our show, including
- 21:17Speaker 1: our conversation with a Killing about the World Cup and
- 21:19Speaker 1: Bay Area and then Giants and they go to the
- 21:23Speaker 1: iHeartRadio app download nine three three KJR or our website
- 21:27Speaker 1: nine three three KJR dot com. You know what time
- 21:31Speaker 1: it is. The music means it's time for you to
- 21:32Speaker 1: be a part of the show. On the Tacoma Dodge
- 21:34Speaker 1: text line four nine four or five one.
- 21:36Speaker 6: From the two o six. How many US Soccer sites
- 21:39Speaker 6: are there for the World Cup? And why is the
- 21:42Speaker 6: US soccer team mainly playing on the West Coast?
- 21:47Speaker 1: I think it's about eight from the top of my
- 21:49Speaker 1: head outside Boston, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Santa Clara, Los Angeles,
- 22:00Speaker 1: Seattle a missing one that would be eight. Then there's
- 22:05Speaker 1: Toronto and Vancouver in Canada and Guadalajara in Mexico City
- 22:10Speaker 1: in Mexico. It appears that US Soccer and FIFA conspired
- 22:14Speaker 1: to put the West the United States on the West
- 22:16Speaker 1: Coast to start. Their training center is in Irvine, California.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Two matches in Los Angeles, won in Seattle, and then
- 22:25Speaker 1: the around a thirty two match in Santa Clara. They're
- 22:27Speaker 1: around of sixteen Seattle quarterfinal would be in Los Angeles,
- 22:31Speaker 1: then the semifinals and finals.
- 22:32Speaker 5: Would be back east.
- 22:34Speaker 1: I think it would be Houston if not mistaken, and
- 22:36Speaker 1: then the course of the final, if they got that
- 22:38Speaker 1: far for the first time ever, would be in East Rutherford,
- 22:40Speaker 1: New Jersey, outside New York City. And it looks like
- 22:43Speaker 1: they wanted to keep them on the West coast while
- 22:45Speaker 1: they put the marquee teams other marquee team worldwide, Ronaldo's
- 22:50Speaker 1: and whatnot, across the country. Argentina, for instance, started in
- 22:53Speaker 1: Kansas City, they played on the East coast. Yesterday, Portugal's
- 22:57Speaker 1: playing in Houston. They played on the East coast. England
- 23:00Speaker 1: played in Dallas, and now they're going to play on
- 23:03Speaker 1: the East coast. So they're moving the marquee teams around.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Will keep in the United States. See to me, maybe
- 23:09Speaker 1: out of that fray on the west and have the
- 23:11Speaker 1: West to themselves. That's my supposition. No one's told me that.
- 23:14Speaker 6: This is a funny one from the two o six,
- 23:17Speaker 6: So no, Brobard for a guy who goes by s
- 23:20Speaker 6: kid two zero six, No what bro Bars, Oh, you
- 23:24Speaker 6: don't want the bro Bards well played there or madam
- 23:27Speaker 6: Will played Will played. I'ma have to change my name
- 23:30Speaker 6: after that one.
- 23:33Speaker 5: I understand why you wouldn't know.
- 23:36Speaker 6: Let's see, Oh, here we go from the two five three, Greg.
- 23:38Speaker 6: I love your journalism and show, mister Bill, true professional.
- 23:42Speaker 6: I think Fame would be a great choice to be
- 23:44Speaker 6: the voice of the Dogs.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I appreciate that a couple of people have mentioned Dick
- 23:48Speaker 1: Fane as the voice of the Dogs. I said, Bob Rondo.
- 23:52Speaker 1: He probably laughed and goes, no, no, no, I'm enjoying
- 23:54Speaker 1: my life the way it is. Some of you on
- 23:57Speaker 1: the text lines, well, Chris may read him, so I
- 23:59Speaker 1: won't give him away because we asked that question at
- 24:01Speaker 1: the top of the show. So Dave Softie mal Or
- 24:04Speaker 1: is that?
- 24:04Speaker 6: Is that the one interview I think Softie would if
- 24:09Speaker 6: he's such a fan that I think he would lose
- 24:10Speaker 6: his mind in there.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I think he wouldn't be measured enough for when the
- 24:13Speaker 1: times as the word yeah, he would explode if they won,
- 24:18Speaker 1: they lost, yeah, the broadcast went at the end, Sorry,
- 24:21Speaker 1: we have to take a quick commercial break. Technical difficulty,
- 24:25Speaker 1: it's a lot of dump button work.
- 24:27Speaker 6: I think he'd be fine without that, I think I
- 24:29Speaker 6: think that he could do he does it on radio,
- 24:31Speaker 6: is fine, correct, But I think to your point, after
- 24:34Speaker 6: a loss, he'd be yelling, and it's just what should
- 24:37Speaker 6: be entertaining, I guess, But I don't know if I've.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Ever told the story on the previous iteration of our show.
- 24:42Speaker 1: But when we when I covered the Sugar Bowl National
- 24:46Speaker 1: semi Finals against Texas, well, yes, he was in the
- 24:51Speaker 1: press box, the booth next to me a top the Superdome.
- 24:54Speaker 1: But after the game, I was on the field interviewing
- 24:57Speaker 1: players amid the confetti and what And then I went
- 25:00Speaker 1: into the locker room. They were smoking cigars. The Huskies
- 25:03Speaker 1: were celebrating, and then they came. Then I came back out
- 25:05Speaker 1: to the field and I could hear from nine stories
- 25:09Speaker 1: above me Dave Softy mall Are screaming his excitement about
- 25:13Speaker 1: the Huskies being in a national championship from nine stories
- 25:17Speaker 1: and a couple of city blocks away from the middle
- 25:20Speaker 1: of the Superdome field to the top of the Superdome
- 25:22Speaker 1: press bug, which is the very top of the stadium
- 25:25Speaker 1: on the roof. I always remember that. Yeah, I don't
- 25:29Speaker 1: know that I amglearfield. Could they're not ready for that.
- 25:32Speaker 6: No, that's just you know, that's a M eighty and
- 25:36Speaker 6: you're looking for just a little simple firecracker or a
- 25:38Speaker 6: firework out there. You're looking for a firecracker and you
- 25:41Speaker 6: get a beautiful explosion like you can't contain them.
- 25:46Speaker 5: That's funny.
- 25:47Speaker 6: Great, But I just to your point Greg after a
- 25:50Speaker 6: tough loss.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Like, hey, we have to turn his mic down.
- 25:53Speaker 5: Guys, this is.
- 25:55Speaker 6: But maybe he you know what, Softy, I say, go
- 25:58Speaker 6: for it. I know you're busy, but know it would
- 26:01Speaker 6: be the voice of the of the dogs.
- 26:03Speaker 5: I appreciate two five, three for the words on the journalism.
- 26:06Speaker 5: Thank you, So I'm trying to do here.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Three six I'll asked, do we know why the Seahawks
- 26:10Speaker 1: didn't get invited to the White House?
- 26:12Speaker 5: Love the show?
- 26:12Speaker 1: Appreciate that the last I checked, they were not invited.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Yet they haven't been told no because they haven't been asked.
- 26:19Speaker 1: But I haven't checked in in a month or two
- 26:21Speaker 1: about that issue. It's not unusual for teams to not
- 26:24Speaker 1: go after winning a title until months and months later,
- 26:27Speaker 1: or maybe on their next trip near Washington or during
- 26:30Speaker 1: the following season. That happens quite a bit, actually, so
- 26:33Speaker 1: I wouldn't rule out that they will still get invited
- 26:38Speaker 1: by the White House. And I have been told by
- 26:41Speaker 1: a couple people within the organization high up that if
- 26:44Speaker 1: they are invited, they will go, and they will not
- 26:46Speaker 1: make it a spectacle or this big stance, and Seattle
- 26:50Speaker 1: will show you. No, they would be accepting of the
- 26:53Speaker 1: offer to go to the White House as Super Bowl champions,
- 26:56Speaker 1: but they have yet to receive an offer.
- 26:57Speaker 5: I don't know why, but I do know it's not.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Entirely unusual for those things to happen almost a full
- 27:03Speaker 1: year after the championship because of travel schedules and White
- 27:07Speaker 1: House commitments and whatnot.
- 27:09Speaker 6: All right from the four two five, John Ryan found
- 27:13Speaker 6: out the Seahawks released him on ESPN ticker while sitting
- 27:15Speaker 6: at the bar at Jay's, Jay Berry's and Renton playing
- 27:18Speaker 6: pool tabs.
- 27:20Speaker 1: I believe that I actually, I don't believe that. I
- 27:24Speaker 1: I don't know about that. Actually traded from the he
- 27:27Speaker 1: got released released, Yes, when they drafted Michael Dixon, but
- 27:32Speaker 1: that wasn't a surprise. They'd been talking to him about that.
- 27:35Speaker 1: When they drafted. They traded, Remember they traded.
- 27:37Speaker 6: To This is another example of him not being on
- 27:40Speaker 6: his phone or by his phone necessarily.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I'm not sure that's the first time he realized he
- 27:44Speaker 1: was being released. I'm pretty sure that they told him
- 27:47Speaker 1: here's what we're doing, especially by the end of that
- 27:49Speaker 1: training camp. I talked to him. At the end of
- 27:51Speaker 1: that training camp. He knew Dixon was there.
- 27:53Speaker 5: They just they'd used it.
- 27:54Speaker 1: They traded a draft.
- 27:55Speaker 5: Pick to draft him. Man, who does that?
- 27:57Speaker 1: A punter?
- 27:58Speaker 5: He knew.
- 27:59Speaker 1: So maybe while he found out that moment as the
- 28:02Speaker 1: actual moment they released him, they had spoken to him
- 28:04Speaker 1: and they had There's a great respect among John Schneider
- 28:08Speaker 1: and John Ryan and his wife Sarah Colonna, and yeah,
- 28:12Speaker 1: they go back. John Ryan still comes around. He's still
- 28:15Speaker 1: have been around. I was at Dino's with him for
- 28:18Speaker 1: a Seahawk.
- 28:19Speaker 5: Fan celebration about a year or so ago.
- 28:21Speaker 6: Last one from me is from the two five three,
- 28:24Speaker 6: Elise Woodward and Klan keep it sorry, ro.
- 28:28Speaker 5: Keep Kim Clayman.
- 28:29Speaker 1: But a last Woodward. She is really good on those
- 28:32Speaker 1: broadcasts on the sideline as a sideline analyst, and she
- 28:35Speaker 1: does do play by play for women's basketball in particular.
- 28:39Speaker 1: It was most recently with the Big Ten Network covering
- 28:42Speaker 1: women's basketball games. Of course, been with a PAC twelve
- 28:45Speaker 1: network in that similar role. Yeah, that would be a
- 28:49Speaker 1: recognition of her longtime work and excellence on Husky broadcast.
- 28:53Speaker 5: That's a good that's a good one. I don't know.
- 28:57Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 28:59Speaker 1: We'll see what they do again. Ig and Learfield will
- 29:02Speaker 1: have some say, but the Washington Athletic Department, of course
- 29:04Speaker 1: will as well. The news of Tony caster Cone the
- 29:07Speaker 1: new broadcaster for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so he was
- 29:10Speaker 1: no longer after nine years the voice of Husky football
- 29:13Speaker 1: and basketball.
- 29:13Speaker 5: Here on ninety three point three.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Kjrf M the two six about the grass issue, says
- 29:18Speaker 1: soccer grass will not hold up to NFL games. Well,
- 29:21Speaker 1: you just get better grass. There are half the league
- 29:24Speaker 1: has grass. Don't give me the excuse they don't have
- 29:29Speaker 1: grass because NFL owners became billionaires by keeping their money
- 29:33Speaker 1: and not spending it. And if they don't need to
- 29:35Speaker 1: spend it by replacing grass and putting in new grass
- 29:37Speaker 1: and reseeding grass and every year getting a new grass field.
- 29:40Speaker 5: They don't.
- 29:40Speaker 1: They won't so they can have tractor pulls and concerts
- 29:43Speaker 1: and nobody says anything about that. I think they should
- 29:47Speaker 1: the players should make it a collective barteying issue say
- 29:49Speaker 1: we're not signing this. We're not doing eighteen games until
- 29:51Speaker 1: you get us all grass fields. You did it for
- 29:53Speaker 1: the World Cup. Keep it now a misnomer that they
- 29:56Speaker 1: have to actually rip up the grass fields and put
- 29:58Speaker 1: in new turf. The grass at Lumen Field is over
- 30:01Speaker 1: the turf. It's a fourteen inch platform. Jackson Feltz was
- 30:05Speaker 1: down there telling me all about the ins and outs
- 30:07Speaker 1: of the draining system is in that fourteen inches under it,
- 30:10Speaker 1: but it's a wooden platform that the grass is sitting
- 30:13Speaker 1: on top of and planted on, and then the draining
- 30:15Speaker 1: system goes into that fourteen inches down to the turf,
- 30:17Speaker 1: but the turf is still there. So all they're going
- 30:20Speaker 1: to do is take down that platform and roll out
- 30:23Speaker 1: or roll up the grass and woila. Once you take
- 30:26Speaker 1: the platform out, there's their turf field and then we're
- 30:29Speaker 1: back to status quo with the normal Sounders and Seahawks turf.
- 30:32Speaker 1: That should not happen, but that's what's going to happen
- 30:34Speaker 1: when the World Cup rolls out of here. In the
- 30:36Speaker 1: first of July. A couple comments on the text line
- 30:39Speaker 1: real quick about MVP of the first half of the
- 30:42Speaker 1: season for the Mariners, Logan Gilbert a couple people's and I.
- 30:47Speaker 5: Don't blame him, and I'm not.
- 30:49Speaker 1: You can't argue with Logan Gilbert being the most valuable
- 30:52Speaker 1: pitcher on this team and how he's done overall. Yeah,
- 30:57Speaker 1: I get that Mariner's v is a quote player to
- 31:01Speaker 1: be named later in two six maybe right about that,
- 31:07Speaker 1: j Rod and Logan Gilbert says the three six zero.
- 31:10Speaker 1: But I don't have a problem with Randy Rose Arena.
- 31:11Speaker 1: He's the first Marina that's actually fording with three hundred
- 31:14Speaker 1: and quite a long time. But two seventy one for
- 31:16Speaker 1: Jay Rod at this point is very good. If col
- 31:18Speaker 1: starts to get hot, I think they all get hot.
- 31:21Speaker 1: You can make a case that if Cow gets hot,
- 31:23Speaker 1: it's over.
- 31:24Speaker 5: That's all they need. As good as he was last year,
- 31:27Speaker 5: of course.
- 31:28Speaker 1: And for nets the Mayor and Maple Valley's outside, he's
- 31:30Speaker 1: gonna tell us what he's got on the show next
- 31:31Speaker 1: on ninety three point three kJ RFM. Welcome back to
- 31:43Speaker 1: the Greg Best Show with Christopher kid Live on ninety
- 31:45Speaker 1: three point three kJ RFM, where we're joined by the
- 31:48Speaker 1: Mayor Maple Valley, whose golf course event is golf event
- 31:51Speaker 1: is coming up really soon.
- 31:53Speaker 4: Sold out.
- 31:54Speaker 5: That's great.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Yep, yep, yeah, July tenth, We're gonna have a party
- 31:58Speaker 4: and have some fun, raise some money for some great,
- 32:00Speaker 4: great organizations and I can't wait. We got a lot
- 32:04Speaker 4: of a lot of really cool people that support it.
- 32:06Speaker 4: So yeah, exciting. Thank you all the great things you do.
- 32:10Speaker 4: That's congratulate me on Monday.
- 32:12Speaker 5: The Yeah, I know it's an undertaking. Yes, I know,
- 32:18Speaker 5: it's another.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Oh yeah, no, it's a later love. I just I
- 32:21Speaker 4: got I got great support. We have great people to
- 32:22Speaker 4: help us, and so.
- 32:24Speaker 5: Yeah, it's great. When's the Georgetown the beer?
- 32:28Speaker 4: The beer comes out? In beer will come out? I
- 32:31Speaker 4: believe it's the third Friday in August. It's okay, we'll
- 32:35Speaker 4: announce it that day. We'll have a firm date on
- 32:38Speaker 4: the day of the golf tournament.
- 32:40Speaker 5: Uh yeah.
- 32:40Speaker 4: So then we'll do a show down in Georgetown Brewing
- 32:42Speaker 4: on that Friday and have the release of the Mayor beer.
- 32:46Speaker 4: And last year that beer sold out in like seven
- 32:49Speaker 4: eight days, eight day, actually nine days. We came out
- 32:52Speaker 4: on a on a Friday, and not that Sunday, but
- 32:56Speaker 4: the following Sunday it.
- 32:57Speaker 5: Was sold out.
- 32:57Speaker 1: So bring your growls.
- 32:59Speaker 4: No, you don't have to, they fell they are already filled.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Oh that's right, George. Georgetown's an easy place because it's
- 33:06Speaker 4: it's they don't like other people's growlers. They're very snobby
- 33:09Speaker 4: of fat. But if you have an old Georgetown growler,
- 33:12Speaker 4: leave it there, which I do and the last time,
- 33:14Speaker 4: then you drop the growler off and they'll give you
- 33:16Speaker 4: a fresh one, all filled up and red.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Rock and roll.
- 33:18Speaker 4: So yeah, I can't wait. That'll be a That's always
- 33:20Speaker 4: a fun show to do it. Doing a show at
- 33:22Speaker 4: a brewery for on a Friday in the summer. Can't
- 33:27Speaker 4: go wrong with that. I can't go wrong with that, right, Yeah,
- 33:31Speaker 4: so there we go.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure you saw the news by now that
- 33:35Speaker 1: the NFL is not having a supplemental draft. Yea, And
- 33:37Speaker 1: I was the whole time with this story was coming on.
- 33:40Speaker 1: I kept telling people, now, wait a minute, he's not
- 33:42Speaker 1: obligated to be in the draft.
- 33:43Speaker 4: I think you and I talked about that, like there's.
- 33:47Speaker 1: We did talk about that.
- 33:48Speaker 4: The NFL doesn't like gambling their players. They like the
- 33:52Speaker 4: gambling sponsorships a lot, they don't like it with their
- 33:57Speaker 4: players involved with it, or maybe a future player doing
- 34:00Speaker 4: it on wait for it, their own sport, their own Well,
- 34:06Speaker 4: he's got to be CFL bound, isn't he?
- 34:07Speaker 5: I would think.
- 34:08Speaker 1: But even the CFL gets pat on of course, yeah
- 34:10Speaker 1: in Canada, and Cana.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Has got more liberal rules and weeding as far as
- 34:14Speaker 4: get like, every every province has their own little thing
- 34:16Speaker 4: going on.
- 34:17Speaker 1: So but you think he gets a canadi because I
- 34:19Speaker 1: was wondering if the Canadian League might even say he's
- 34:21Speaker 1: too nuclear to touch. I mean, we got a minute here, Yeah,
- 34:25Speaker 1: you're gonna text one of your Canadians.
- 34:27Speaker 4: We're just gonna I'm just gonna call far Han on
- 34:28Speaker 4: the on the on the uh on the phone right now.
- 34:32Speaker 4: We'll just call him up and see far He might
- 34:35Speaker 4: be in the World Cup stadium. But this guy, I know,
- 34:40Speaker 4: he was at the Storm game last night with his daughter.
- 34:43Speaker 4: He's probably gonna put him live on the air. Fire
- 34:48Speaker 4: beware hopefully doesn't swear have the dump button ready. Can't
- 34:52Speaker 4: trust those Canadians?
- 34:55Speaker 5: Is he really?
- 34:55Speaker 4: Is he really not gonna answer my call?
- 34:57Speaker 1: Of course he's wore on our.
- 35:00Speaker 5: I know.
- 35:01Speaker 1: That's why I said. I can't believe he's not answered.
- 35:04Speaker 1: He knows we're on the air. He's probably listening.
- 35:06Speaker 4: Yeah, hey, answer your phone, fella, all right, network guy,
- 35:09Speaker 4: watch a call back.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on my kids seven on seven tournaments?
- 35:14Speaker 1: I think he's in a World Cup stadium. He's on broadcast.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Oh maybe asie. Okay, so he's probably doing that. Yeah.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I My guess is a CFL would welcome me with
- 35:23Speaker 1: open arms. That's just Chris's point is a reclamation project.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Here's your chance. Good player, I.
- 35:28Speaker 5: Mean, how good. We don't even know, well.
- 35:33Speaker 4: Better than Nathan Rourke true or Curtis Rourke whatever. Rourke
- 35:38Speaker 4: brother's up in BC right now, right, the not good one, right,
- 35:42Speaker 4: the one that's not as good it was with Tennessee
- 35:44Speaker 4: as a third string guy for two years. So I
- 35:46Speaker 4: don't know. Yeah I would. I would think cfluh, the
- 35:50Speaker 4: you know, the the tough thing for him. But listen,
- 35:52Speaker 4: you make your own bed. You have to. You know,
- 35:55Speaker 4: you're not gonna able to play high level FOOTBA unless
- 35:57Speaker 4: you can get in the CFL for a year, which
- 35:59Speaker 4: would be good for him. Uh, and get the tape
- 36:01Speaker 4: out there, because the other thing is his tape's just okay.
- 36:04Speaker 1: And that's my point. We don't know how good he is.
- 36:06Speaker 1: He's just so so at the college level.
- 36:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so, I mean it's I think the I
- 36:10Speaker 4: would say, also, Greg, I don't know what you think.
- 36:12Speaker 4: I think the NFL did its teams a favor not
- 36:15Speaker 4: take the gambling stuff aside, because oh look he's calling
- 36:19Speaker 4: hang on, hang on, careful for him. You're on the
- 36:23Speaker 4: air live on kJ R and Seattle. How are you good?
- 36:28Speaker 4: Can you hear him?
- 36:28Speaker 5: Okay?
- 36:29Speaker 4: Chris, Hey, you're with Greg bellanie In for You're with
- 36:32Speaker 4: Greg bellanie In for Nassi on the speaker. Folks, we
- 36:34Speaker 4: had it, we were this is the last second. We
- 36:36Speaker 4: need to call a nas something.
- 36:37Speaker 5: Okay. Are you ready? All right?
- 36:39Speaker 4: You're you're our CFL correspondent and a Canadian Football Hall
- 36:42Speaker 4: of Famer. By the way, he is is is sores Bet.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Would Brendan Soresby be okay to play with the CFL
- 36:48Speaker 4: have him up there this year?
- 36:50Speaker 7: That's a good question. I just talked to a couple
- 36:53Speaker 7: of people about it. I think the gamble you think
- 36:55Speaker 7: could affects his ability to play in the CFO as well.
- 36:58Speaker 7: And I don't think Brandon towards me dromps into the
- 37:00Speaker 7: CFL and gets on a field, right, just given the
- 37:02Speaker 7: fact that We're now in the week four of.
- 37:04Speaker 5: The season, right, Okay.
- 37:05Speaker 7: Currently had the arm talent to play in either league. Okay,
- 37:08Speaker 7: but just yeah, the circumstances around it, I would be
- 37:10Speaker 7: shopped if you wound up. Did I see a team
- 37:13Speaker 7: in the CFL put him on their negotiation? Was absolutely?
- 37:16Speaker 7: Do I team on the field for a CFL game
- 37:18Speaker 7: this season?
- 37:18Speaker 5: I'd be shocked.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Hey, by the way, would you have answered the call
- 37:21Speaker 4: in the first dial if it would have been Greg
- 37:23Speaker 4: and not me, Yes.
- 37:26Speaker 7: Well I'll go to the field coach football squallow him
- 37:28Speaker 7: and we got a little on you, all right because
- 37:31Speaker 7: it ended. I think I would have taken either one.
- 37:33Speaker 5: Of your calls.
