- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey, Jonas.
- 0:26Speaker 2: And that was our jingle. Love it. Love it. We
- 0:31Speaker 2: kind of came up with that. Then it was turned
- 0:33Speaker 2: into a song.
- 0:34Speaker 3: You did it. We did it. We're songwriters.
- 0:37Speaker 2: What can we say? All right, let's get to these voicemails.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I'm dying to give some advice.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Dying to give some advice that I shouldn't be giving.
- 0:42Speaker 4: My name's Julia calling from New Hampshire. I was at
- 0:45Speaker 4: your Manchester, New Hampshire show the week before Christmas. Had
- 0:48Speaker 4: the best time. You guys always joke that you are
- 0:52Speaker 4: not always qualified to give advice, but I have a
- 0:56Speaker 4: question I think you're perfectly qualified for. I got divorced
- 1:00Speaker 4: last year and that's okay. And pretty quickly after started
- 1:05Speaker 4: seeing who had previously been a very close friend and
- 1:09Speaker 4: I didn't really tell anyone, but it's been a year
- 1:13Speaker 4: and now I still really haven't told.
- 1:16Speaker 5: Anyone because I feel like I waited too long and
- 1:18Speaker 5: I'm not really sure if I should like hard launch
- 1:21Speaker 5: it or how to post it on social media because
- 1:24Speaker 5: there's a lot of people who who still don't even
- 1:26Speaker 5: know I got divorced in the first place, I'm looking
- 1:29Speaker 5: for advice on how to handle relationships kind of being
- 1:34Speaker 5: seen from the outside, which I know is something you're
- 1:36Speaker 5: all familiar with.
- 1:37Speaker 6: So can't wait to hear your advice.
- 1:39Speaker 4: And thanks so much for this podcast. It makes me
- 1:41Speaker 4: laugh every single time I put it on. Awesome.
- 1:44Speaker 2: She's so sweet. So sweet. I love hearing that. I
- 1:46Speaker 2: will say that before we get to the advice, a
- 1:49Speaker 2: real moment here. We've been doing the podcast now for
- 1:53Speaker 2: six years, six years. I think a few months, six months,
- 1:56Speaker 2: six months, maybe give or take. Not, not, I think
- 1:59Speaker 2: it's like two months. But my point is now that
- 2:01Speaker 2: it's out in the world, I've seen some of the
- 2:04Speaker 2: clips on Tik TOK and other places. It does bring
- 2:07Speaker 2: me a lot of joy to know that this podcast
- 2:11Speaker 2: that we started is bringing people joy.
- 2:15Speaker 7: Totally.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And it's fun for us. And I hope it continues
- 2:18Speaker 2: to make people happy because it's all that we want
- 2:20Speaker 2: to do. And now to the advice I have, will
- 2:25Speaker 2: say that I think this is an obstacle a lot
- 2:29Speaker 2: of people have to navigate. How do you post about
- 2:33Speaker 2: your relationship online? What does that look like? Not just
- 2:37Speaker 2: at the beginning, but during the relationship and otherwise. In
- 2:43Speaker 2: this scenario, given that there's the divorce aspect and then
- 2:46Speaker 2: the new relationship, I kind of feel like a simple,
- 2:52Speaker 2: so here's a life update.
- 2:54Speaker 8: Oh.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Period.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And it's like, I got divorced this, you know, last year. Like,
- 2:58Speaker 2: you just kind of lay it out. But start it
- 3:01Speaker 2: with the thing of like, hey, so here's a life update.
- 3:04Speaker 2: And then people can be like, oh, yeah, wow. That's
- 3:06Speaker 2: a lot of information. And it's their information to give.
- 3:10Speaker 2: But it's not like it doesn't have to be like too,
- 3:13Speaker 2: I don't know. You should chime in.
- 3:16Speaker 9: Me.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Everyone. I think it's all, I think it's great advice. Look, girl,
- 3:20Speaker 2: are we trying to go viral?
- 3:22Speaker 9: Oh.
- 3:22Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 3:23Speaker 1: It's just a little fun idea. You could be like,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I could see the concept and be like, so this
- 3:29Speaker 1: funny thing happened with me and my friend. And it's
- 3:32Speaker 1: like a slideshow or it's like a beautiful photo. It's like,
- 3:35Speaker 1: we've been friends for so long. And then cut to,
- 3:39Speaker 1: you know, it's like the last slide, they're in love.
- 3:41Speaker 2: It's like, oh, and by the way, I got divorced. Oh,
- 3:46Speaker 2: by the way, I am divorced. These are all jokes.
- 3:49Speaker 2: We're joking. I mean, look, my real advice, that's my
- 3:53Speaker 2: fun advice. Have fun with it. The real advice, I think,
- 3:58Speaker 2: if you're happy, that's all that matters. If you're happy,
- 4:00Speaker 2: be happy.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And ultimately, if you're not trying to hurt the other
- 4:04Speaker 1: party or if they're not necessarily in your life.
- 4:09Speaker 3: That was good, Joe.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I'm clocking that. Yeah. It's nice to be like, Keep
- 4:15Speaker 2: your side of the street clean. Live your life. Be happy.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Live your truth. Life is waste. I mean, of course,
- 4:22Speaker 2: people will say, let's do short. Just be happy. But like,
- 4:24Speaker 2: that's true.
- 4:25Speaker 1: It's tough when you're like, oh, I got to hear
- 4:27Speaker 1: from Aunt Carol that she's mad that I posted because
- 4:30Speaker 1: she doesn't understand that people get divorced.
- 4:33Speaker 2: That's weird. Well, Aunt Carol, live your life. I'll live mine.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I'm happy. Hard launch that shit.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Give me a new soft launch, a little photo of
- 4:42Speaker 2: hands holding, be like, DM me for details. Life update
- 4:46Speaker 2: coming soon. Life update coming soon. But I'm happy.
- 4:48Speaker 1: And if you're happy, which sounds like you're very happy,
- 4:52Speaker 1: live your best life. And ultimately like trolls will troll
- 4:54Speaker 1: even in the family dynamic.
- 4:56Speaker 7: True.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Or bring him to the concert next time we play
- 4:59Speaker 3: and we'll help you hard launch it.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 2: One side note about this too. I feel like New
- 5:03Speaker 2: Hampshire is having a moment. Oh, it's big. It's heavy, right?
- 5:07Speaker 2: Am I the only one that's, I'm like, I'm hearing
- 5:09Speaker 2: a lot about New Hampshire right now.
- 5:11Speaker 3: People in the Hamptons this last weekend were saying like,
- 5:14Speaker 3: oh yeah, we're going to New Hampshire next weekend. They're
- 5:15Speaker 3: talking about New Hampshire. Hamptons is talking about going to
- 5:18Speaker 3: New Hampshire. So that's the thing. And I'm not really
- 5:21Speaker 3: a Hamptons.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Guy, so this is cool. It's getting whale belt, but.
- 5:24Speaker 3: It is very whale belt.
- 5:26Speaker 2: I have no idea what that means. It's getting popped
- 5:28Speaker 2: Abercrombie collar. Oh, now I know what you're talking about.
- 5:32Speaker 2: From there. Okay, next question. voicemail. Next voice. Hey, besties.
- 5:37Speaker 8: So I really want to ask you guys about what
- 5:42Speaker 8: you think of potlucks.
- 5:45Speaker 6: This has been kind of an ongoing debate.
- 5:47Speaker 8: Some people are really into them and like every single
- 5:52Speaker 8: time they host people at their house, they want it
- 5:54Speaker 8: to be a potluck. And then a couple of us
- 5:57Speaker 8: are like, no, like if you're choosing to host, you know,
- 6:00Speaker 8: it's your responsibility to provide food, whether it's pizza or
- 6:05Speaker 8: just snacks, drinks, whatever. So what do you guys think
- 6:08Speaker 8: of potluck? Like, is it a special events only like
- 6:12Speaker 8: friends giving only situation? Wow.
- 6:14Speaker 10: Wow.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I love this question.
- 6:15Speaker 3: This is a great question.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I do not believe luck has a surprisingly literal origin
- 6:20Speaker 2: that dates back to the 16th century England long before
- 6:23Speaker 2: it became associated with neighborhood block parties in plastic containers.
- 6:26Speaker 2: The literal meaning 1500s, the phrase originally referred to the
- 6:29Speaker 2: luck of the pot is In medieval and Renaissance England,
- 6:32Speaker 2: households would often keep a soup or stew pot constantly
- 6:36Speaker 2: simmering on the hearth, sometimes called a perpetual stool. A stew,
- 6:42Speaker 2: not stool. When an unexpected guest arrived at mealtime, they
- 6:46Speaker 2: were invited to take potluck, meaning they would get whatever
- 6:50Speaker 2: happened to be in the pot at the moment without
- 6:52Speaker 2: any special preparation.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I'm going to stop you there. This says a lot
- 6:55Speaker 1: about her question. It originates from a surprise guest. A
- 6:59Speaker 1: potluck shouldn't be like, Like, hey, everybody, I'm having a
- 7:03Speaker 1: potluck tonight.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Come by. It's like, bring something. It's like, girl.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Well, I guess that's where the surprise comes into play.
- 7:08Speaker 1: If I'm a surprise guest, I'd be like, hey, oh,
- 7:11Speaker 1: grab a slice of pizza. I don't want to have
- 7:12Speaker 1: to be like, make something at home and come to
- 7:14Speaker 1: my party.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Not every time. The whole concept is that you have
- 7:18Speaker 2: this simmering thing. You don't know what's in it. You
- 7:22Speaker 2: go and you test your luck with the pot. My
- 7:25Speaker 2: point is... That's fun.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I think also everybody can Uber Eats their own food
- 7:29Speaker 1: or Postmates depending on who sponsors it.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Group orders are great.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I think make it a mystery.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Mystery dessert.
- 7:36Speaker 2: So here's my concept.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I like it.
- 7:38Speaker 2: We create like a container that conceals the identity of
- 7:44Speaker 2: the food.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Sounds like a TV show.
- 7:46Speaker 8: Right?
- 7:47Speaker 2: And you go and you or you can just wear
- 7:50Speaker 2: a blindfold I guess too.
- 7:51Speaker 3: I like it though.
- 7:52Speaker 1: For a Christmas one year I got a charcuterie board
- 7:54Speaker 1: for everybody that I loved It's a company and it's
- 7:57Speaker 1: called Cocktutory Boards. It's in the shape of a phallic.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I'll let you figure that out. That, however, a cocktutory
- 8:05Speaker 1: board party could be fun.
- 8:07Speaker 3: I have actually seen this where people bring like, you know,
- 8:11Speaker 3: like a board, like a wooden board, like to a party,
- 8:14Speaker 3: but it could be anything. So it's like meat and cheese.
- 8:17Speaker 3: It's like cotton candy board. It's whatever.
- 8:20Speaker 2: It's a board party.
- 8:21Speaker 3: It's a board party. And you like line all the
- 8:22Speaker 3: boards up.
- 8:23Speaker 2: My opinion is, I'm going to.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Drop some knowledge here, guys, because I have a lot
- 8:27Speaker 1: of potluck knowledge. Because I've done this. I've had a
- 8:31Speaker 1: couple potlucks in my day and lucky pots. I'd say, look,
- 8:35Speaker 1: I think if this friend is constantly like, they're like, hey,
- 8:38Speaker 1: we should do a potluck next Thursday and you guys
- 8:40Speaker 1: are just coming off the heels of one on Friday.
- 8:42Speaker 1: She'd be like, girl, can we just Uber Eats because
- 8:46Speaker 1: this is getting out of hand. I don't have that
- 8:48Speaker 1: many recipes.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I agree.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Somebody has their, somebody has their thing. And if you
- 8:51Speaker 1: do that weekly, it's like, it's, it takes the excitement away.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I'm also like once a month, once a month, let's
- 8:57Speaker 3: just have that.
- 8:57Speaker 8: Okay.
- 8:58Speaker 2: That's the advice. We're limiting the potluck to once a month,
- 9:01Speaker 2: no more than that. That's it.
- 9:04Speaker 3: I totally agree with you on that.
- 9:05Speaker 5: All right.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Next.
- 9:07Speaker 7: Hey, this is Emily from Georgia. So I know all
- 9:11Speaker 7: three of.
- 9:11Speaker 8: You guys are dads.
- 9:13Speaker 7: My husband and I have been married a few years,
- 9:15Speaker 7: been together quite a few and, And we're at the
- 9:18Speaker 7: point of having conversations about kids. So my question is,
- 9:21Speaker 7: how did you guys know that you were ready to
- 9:24Speaker 7: have kids? Or did you know you were ready? Or
- 9:26Speaker 7: whatever that looked like. So how did you guys know
- 9:29Speaker 7: that you guys were ready to be dads?
- 9:30Speaker 9: Thanks.
- 9:31Speaker 7: Have a good day.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Hi, Emily. I'm George. George is also kind of having
- 9:35Speaker 2: a moment.
- 9:35Speaker 8: Oh.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Nick disagrees. And I also disagree with myself, except Millie
- 9:40Speaker 2: Bobby Brown has.
- 9:41Speaker 3: A big farm.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I would like to visit that.
- 9:43Speaker 3: She has so many animals.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I thought she was joking, but she does have a
- 9:47Speaker 1: lot of animals. I think that's a very exciting time
- 9:50Speaker 1: for you and your husband, Emily. Those conversations are very
- 9:55Speaker 1: big conversations. Sounds like you guys are kind of at
- 9:57Speaker 1: that point where you're in a relationship where you're like,
- 9:59Speaker 1: all right.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Are we ready? Is it time? Um, I think it's
- 10:05Speaker 2: to answer your question. I feel like it's, it sounds weird,
- 10:08Speaker 2: but it's a gut feeling.
- 10:08Speaker 3: It's just like, Hey, You know what Danielle said? We
- 10:11Speaker 3: had this conversation over the weekend, and she said to
- 10:13Speaker 3: our friends, she said, the minute you start talking about
- 10:16Speaker 3: having kids as a couple is when you're on the
- 10:19Speaker 3: precipice of being ready for kids.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Have you guys been testing out babies, Emily? Have you
- 10:22Speaker 1: been holding babies recently? Sometimes you get baby fever, you know?
- 10:26Speaker 1: Please don't ever say testing out babies.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Well, I'm just saying. You know what I'm saying? You
- 10:30Speaker 2: get what I mean, right?
- 10:33Speaker 1: You're like holding one, and you're like, this feels right.
- 10:36Speaker 2: This podcast is a bad idea. No, it feels great.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I got to say, one of the most bizarre things
- 10:47Speaker 2: when we were leaving the hospital with Malti Marie was
- 10:50Speaker 2: the doctor said, okay, are you ready to take your
- 10:53Speaker 2: baby home?
- 10:54Speaker 4: Like, nope.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And you're like, what? This is okay?
- 10:59Speaker 3: Like, where's the manual?
- 11:00Speaker 2: Yeah, there's like, the car seat is, you know, put
- 11:05Speaker 2: in the car correctly.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And you're not allowed to, at least in California, you can't, Like,
- 11:10Speaker 1: no one can help you put the baby in the
- 11:11Speaker 1: car seat.
- 11:12Speaker 2: You have to, yeah, you have to. So then their
- 11:14Speaker 2: last question is, are you ready to take your baby home?
- 11:16Speaker 2: It's like, what happens if someone's like, I don't know.
- 11:19Speaker 2: It's crazy, but it's a metaphor for a bigger thing,
- 11:21Speaker 2: which is like, will you ever be ready? You just
- 11:23Speaker 2: have to do it.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Great question.
- 11:24Speaker 2: That's the thing.
- 11:25Speaker 1: A lot of friends who are thinking about this situation, Emily,
- 11:31Speaker 1: guys and girls who are like, well, maybe this could
- 11:33Speaker 1: be it.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Maybe this, like, it's time.
- 11:36Speaker 1: And I feel like to the core, it's like, as
- 11:39Speaker 1: long as you and your partner, whatever your situation is,
- 11:42Speaker 1: if you're having that combo.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Between you guys and you get in the itch, test
- 11:48Speaker 2: out some babies. Just kidding. I'm kidding.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Obviously I think we're all saying like, if you're having
- 11:56Speaker 1: the combo, it might be the answers there.
- 11:58Speaker 2: You're, you're, um, digging my grave. Your cancel panic just
- 12:02Speaker 2: now was so intense.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Me?
- 12:05Speaker 2: I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
- 12:05Speaker 9: I'm good.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Um, uh, Cancel away, kids.
- 12:08Speaker 1: All right.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Next up.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Cancel Panic is the name of this episode.
- 12:13Speaker 2: You can wear Cancel Panic pants. It's like an adult diaper.
- 12:17Speaker 1: All right.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Next one.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Cancel Panic at the Disco.
- 12:21Speaker 9: Hey, Jonas.
- 12:23Speaker 6: This is Nicole from Los Angeles. I have a question.
- 12:27Speaker 6: I'm getting married in March and I'm doing my bachelorette.
- 12:30Speaker 6: A little bit early because we want to be able
- 12:31Speaker 6: to go do the Vegas pool parties. But I'm curious
- 12:34Speaker 6: to know if any of you had traditional bachelor parties.
- 12:38Speaker 6: And if you did, where you went. And if you
- 12:40Speaker 6: have any special memories that you want to share from one. Bye, guys.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Okay, can I just say something? I feel like Los
- 12:46Speaker 2: Angeles is having a moment. I was going to disagree.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Have you guys heard of Los Angeles?
- 12:51Speaker 3: Vegas apparently is having a moment.
- 12:53Speaker 2: A traditional pool party. I like that she says it
- 12:55Speaker 2: like that. Traditional.
- 12:56Speaker 8: You know what?
- 12:56Speaker 2: You make that sound so classy. I will tell you what.
- 12:58Speaker 9: It ain't.
- 12:59Speaker 2: It is so.
- 13:00Speaker 8: It ain't.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Sloppy and fun. And you better prepare yourself. I think
- 13:04Speaker 1: you need to go all in, have the best time
- 13:05Speaker 1: in Vegas.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Go all out. But to answer your question, any stories?
- 13:10Speaker 2: My bachelor party was in Ibiza. We did have bachelor parties,
- 13:13Speaker 2: first of all. Joe was in Ibiza.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Whoa.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Here's a photo of Joe on his bachelor party. Yes,
- 13:20Speaker 2: his shirt is torn.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Yes, he has a crown of a 1942 on his head.
- 13:24Speaker 2: It was a trip. We actually played a football soccer
- 13:28Speaker 2: match in the Ibiza... team stadium. It was a hundred
- 13:33Speaker 2: degrees and we were all brutally hungover.
- 13:36Speaker 3: In the most Jonas Brothers thing we ever do though,
- 13:38Speaker 3: we fly home from your bachelor party and went to
- 13:42Speaker 3: eight straight hours of press.
- 13:44Speaker 2: As it should be.
- 13:44Speaker 4: It was great.
- 13:46Speaker 2: My bachelor party was in the Bahamas. It was a
- 13:49Speaker 2: great time. Here's a photo. For some reason I said
- 13:51Speaker 2: we should all wear suits one night. It's always a
- 13:56Speaker 2: better idea on paper. Yeah. And then Kevin had a
- 13:59Speaker 2: bachelor party. But it was kind of cut short because
- 14:04Speaker 2: what were we doing?
- 14:05Speaker 3: We had to perform at the Disney Christmas Parade.
- 14:09Speaker 2: You're so salty as you said that just now. I'm sorry.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I'm going to rephrase.
- 14:14Speaker 3: We got to fly to Orlando to perform for the
- 14:17Speaker 3: Disney Christmas Parade.
- 14:19Speaker 2: It was actually in Los Angeles or in California. But
- 14:21Speaker 2: by the way, again, Los Angeles.
- 14:22Speaker 5: No, it wasn't.
- 14:22Speaker 3: It was in Orlando.
- 14:23Speaker 2: It was in Orlando?
- 14:24Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Then we took you to the Giants game, which was fun.
- 14:28Speaker 3: We took you to the Giants game, which was great.
- 14:29Speaker 2: It's going to be so fun for her, by the way.
- 14:30Speaker 3: I have zero photos from my trip.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I'm so excited for her to go on this bachelorette party.
- 14:33Speaker 1: You're going to have the best time.
- 14:35Speaker 2: In Vegas, too? Which DJ are you going to see?
- 14:37Speaker 3: Where should they go?
- 14:37Speaker 2: We should probably go see Marshmello if he's on. But
- 14:41Speaker 2: my advice would be.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Give yourself some time, a couple hours between pool party
- 14:48Speaker 1: and dinner. That means disco nap. Naps are important. So
- 14:51Speaker 1: you're going to have some drinks, you're going to have
- 14:53Speaker 1: some fun. have some snacks at the pool and you
- 14:57Speaker 1: should leave by like five or 35. You should go
- 15:01Speaker 1: take a nap for at least three hours. Another thing
- 15:04Speaker 1: is like a steam and sauna situation really helps.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Oh yeah. But you should go all out. It's me.
- 15:08Speaker 2: A lot of fun. Have fun and have a great wedding.
- 15:11Speaker 9: Totally.
- 15:11Speaker 8: Okay.
- 15:13Speaker 10: All right.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Do we have more moss?
- 15:14Speaker 10: My name is Darlene. I am from San Diego, California.
- 15:18Speaker 10: My fiance and I are getting married December 22nd this year,
- 15:22Speaker 10: and I am stuck in a super pickle. Not the
- 15:25Speaker 10: pickles with Jolly Ranchers or whatever Tiffany Haddish was saying.
- 15:29Speaker 10: But if you guys had to pick between one of
- 15:32Speaker 10: your two songs to walk down the aisle to, my
- 15:36Speaker 10: first option would be Love Bugs. which is my all-time
- 15:38Speaker 10: favorite song, or I'd love you to have in the
- 15:42Speaker 10: acoustic version. They both speak to us. They both speak
- 15:45Speaker 10: to our relationship. I wanted to get you guys' advice
- 15:48Speaker 10: on which one you guys would suggest.
- 15:50Speaker 1: That's great.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Congratulations.
- 15:52Speaker 1: My vote's kind of love bug. I think, you know,
- 15:54Speaker 1: as long as you don't get to the big, like,
- 15:57Speaker 1: it should stop before the bridge. There's a guitar solo.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Or not. And fireworks and a kiss. That'd be great.
- 16:03Speaker 1: But they have to still do the whole ceremony before
- 16:05Speaker 1: the kiss.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Yeah, they do it after.
- 16:06Speaker 1: They pick it back up. It's like, and then they kiss.
- 16:13Speaker 1: There's a Love Bug jazz version. A Love Bug jazz version, huh?
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, which is.
- 16:19Speaker 3: That's cool.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Jazzy love. I would say Love Bug for sure. I
- 16:22Speaker 2: think that's the quintessential Jonas Brothers song, and it's perfect
- 16:25Speaker 2: for that environment. I agree with Joe. Maybe don't do that.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Plus it's her favorite.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and Love Made to Heaven feels a little... A
- 16:32Speaker 2: little high energy.
- 16:33Speaker 3: She said the acoustic version, though. Which, I don't know,
- 16:36Speaker 3: which version is that? Like, have you heard, I don't
- 16:38Speaker 3: remember which one that is.
- 16:39Speaker 2: You've not heard that version, Kev?
- 16:40Speaker 3: I mean, like, I was there, so I'm sure.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Of our song that we've released? Yeah.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Oh, there's a, or you could do a, you know what,
- 16:46Speaker 1: I just found a very suave Burning Up.
- 16:49Speaker 3: There's actually the ones, the Bridgerton version of both songs.
- 16:54Speaker 3: There you go.
- 16:55Speaker 2: That's a good idea.
- 16:55Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 2: You could do this.
- 16:57Speaker 10: I am cold.
- 17:05Speaker 2: It's giving wedding. Where's the creator? Shout her out.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Shout out.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Jade Grey. Love this version. I love it. Very emotional.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Here's what we'll promise. I like it.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Can she do love bug for her for her wedding?
- 17:32Speaker 3: Let's see if we can make that happen.
- 17:33Speaker 6: Jade Grey.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Perform that version at your wedding. That'd be sick. That'd
- 17:37Speaker 2: be amazing. Jade Gray, very talented. Shout out to Jade Gray.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Let's hear another voicemail.
- 17:42Speaker 11: My name is Nayemi.
- 17:43Speaker 9: I am from Chicago. I am listening to your Hey
- 17:47Speaker 9: Jonas podcast on my way to work. And I am
- 17:50Speaker 9: just feeling really disillusioned.
- 17:52Speaker 10: And burnt out.
- 17:53Speaker 9: I am a primary care doctor. I work at a
- 17:59Speaker 9: low-income sliding scale clinic. doing amazing work. I grew up
- 18:04Speaker 9: in the neighborhood that I work in now, but I'm.
- 18:08Speaker 6: Just, you know, I'm really burnt out.
- 18:10Speaker 9: It is incredible work, but it is really exhausting. And
- 18:14Speaker 9: I feel like lately with social media, primary care doctors
- 18:19Speaker 9: have been painted in a very negative light. And, you know,
- 18:23Speaker 9: I really went into this field because I wanted to
- 18:25Speaker 9: help people and I wanted to be there, you know,
- 18:28Speaker 9: for families. I've just been really struggling to get myself
- 18:32Speaker 9: to get to work and you guys and your podcast
- 18:36Speaker 9: just bring a lot of light into my mornings and,
- 18:39Speaker 9: and make me feel a little bit more motivated to
- 18:42Speaker 9: go to work. So thank you so much. And just
- 18:44Speaker 9: wondering how you guys push through, you know, the burnout
- 18:47Speaker 9: phase of, of doing something that you love, but you're
- 18:50Speaker 9: just exhausted.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Well, thank you so much for all of you that
- 18:54Speaker 3: you do, uh, especially in the neighborhood that you grew
- 18:57Speaker 3: up in. That's so cool. But at the same time,
- 18:59Speaker 3: as you said, it can be tough and it can
- 19:01Speaker 3: burn you out and, We need the doctors to stay
- 19:05Speaker 3: strong because we need you out there. So thank you.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Piggyback on you, Kev. Thank you so much for what
- 19:09Speaker 1: you do. And I can only imagine it's got to
- 19:12Speaker 1: be exhausting thing. We can even hear you in the car.
- 19:15Speaker 1: It sounds like you're in traffic. This is like a
- 19:17Speaker 1: stressful season. And also, you know, you're doing something amazing,
- 19:20Speaker 1: not only for people, but also your community. And yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 1: social media can be quite toxic as much as we
- 19:28Speaker 1: can have fun with it and find things that inspire
- 19:30Speaker 1: us and make us laugh.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Mike has questioned things. I think it's also, look, we.
- 19:36Speaker 1: We, our algorithms can easily put us into a lane
- 19:40Speaker 1: of negativity and, um, we're sorry that's happening to you,
- 19:44Speaker 1: but you do matter. And we really hope you, you
- 19:48Speaker 1: find something that you can do for yourself. You'd, deserve
- 19:51Speaker 1: a moment of like relief maybe deleting social media for
- 19:54Speaker 1: a little while might help putting it on a timer
- 19:57Speaker 1: or something on your phone could be like hey i'm
- 19:59Speaker 1: only gonna check it like an hour a day or
- 20:02Speaker 1: literally delete it for a month or two just to
- 20:04Speaker 1: see how you feel or a week just to see
- 20:06Speaker 1: if it brings some clarity but a little bit Treat yourself.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Do something nice for yourself. Whether that's taking yourself out
- 20:12Speaker 1: for dinner. I know that sounds weird. Doing something fun.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Taking yourself to a movie. Reminding yourself that you are
- 20:18Speaker 1: a person that needs care and love and you got
- 20:21Speaker 1: to take care of that person because your work person
- 20:24Speaker 1: and your person is different.
- 20:26Speaker 3: You know what I'll do to help us out? We're
- 20:28Speaker 3: going to have two tickets waiting for you just to
- 20:29Speaker 3: say thank you for what you do. I'll make sure
- 20:31Speaker 3: that happens.
- 20:32Speaker 8: Nice.
- 20:33Speaker 11: Love it.
- 20:34Speaker 2: It's kind of moments like these where I feel like
- 20:36Speaker 2: the thing that we do podcasts are our music and
- 20:39Speaker 2: it seems so insignificant in comparison to the work that
- 20:43Speaker 2: people are doing in the healthcare space and beyond serving
- 20:48Speaker 2: their community and, and, um, helping people, you know, and,
- 20:54Speaker 2: and so I want to say first, thank you for
- 20:58Speaker 2: what you do. Um, please stay encouraged to, because to
- 21:03Speaker 2: Kevin's point, um, We need our doctors to feel ready
- 21:09Speaker 2: and willing and eager to go to work and to
- 21:13Speaker 2: help people and save lives. We need to continue to
- 21:19Speaker 2: encourage people whose jobs are not just important, but critical
- 21:25Speaker 2: to society as a whole. So in whatever way we
- 21:31Speaker 2: can be helpful in that, as insignificant as it feels
- 21:34Speaker 2: to sit and just talk on a podcast or make
- 21:38Speaker 2: a song. Um, thank you for allowing us that opportunity to,
- 21:42Speaker 2: to bring some light into your world. And please know
- 21:44Speaker 2: that we don't take it for granted and that, uh,
- 21:47Speaker 2: we wear it as a badge of honor to, to get,
- 21:50Speaker 2: to bring some, some light into your, your very intense worlds.
- 21:56Speaker 11: Um, and on that note, Hey Jonas, this is Cheyenne
- 21:59Speaker 11: over in Portland, Oregon. I was calling for some advice.
- 22:03Speaker 11: My husband and I are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary and,
- 22:07Speaker 11: And I do not know what to get him. So
- 22:11Speaker 11: maybe you can give me advice on what you guys
- 22:13Speaker 11: think he would want. He's a pretty chill guy. He
- 22:17Speaker 11: doesn't ask for a lot and, um, he's a really
- 22:20Speaker 11: good dad of our two daughters. And so, yeah, I
- 22:23Speaker 11: just want to give him something special or do something
- 22:26Speaker 11: activity wise. So maybe you can give me some advice
- 22:29Speaker 11: on that.
- 22:29Speaker 3: I know exactly what you should get him. You should
- 22:32Speaker 3: get an edible arrangement. From our actual new sponsor.
- 22:38Speaker 9: Oh.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Are we sponsored?
- 22:39Speaker 3: They are official sponsored by Edible Arrangement. Look at this.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Are you kidding me? I am not kidding.
- 22:46Speaker 9: Yep.
- 22:47Speaker 3: We did it, boys.
- 22:48Speaker 2: The journey we've taken to get it. By the way,
- 22:51Speaker 2: the perfect gift. The perfect gift for.
- 22:53Speaker 10: Look at this.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Who would not love this? Here you go. You did it.
- 22:57Speaker 1: The gift that lasts about a couple days.
- 23:00Speaker 3: And the kids will love it, too.
- 23:02Speaker 2: The thought that lasts forever. The gift that actually lasts
- 23:04Speaker 2: a few days.
- 23:05Speaker 9: Nice.
- 23:05Speaker 2: That's Kevin's slogan. Give us a breakdown of what you
- 23:08Speaker 2: got going on. You got some chocolate-covered strawberries.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Okay, so it definitely looks chocolate-covered strawberries.
- 23:12Speaker 2: None of your sponsors. You should probably have a bite.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Chocolate-covered marshmallows. And this is called the- Marshmallows, though.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Marsho, bro.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Marsho.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Chocolate-covered marshmallows. Marsho.
- 23:23Speaker 3: This is actually the Mocotini, so you should definitely- What
- 23:25Speaker 3: does that mean?
- 23:26Speaker 2: Is there coffee in there?
- 23:26Speaker 3: This is the name of this beautiful thing.
- 23:28Speaker 8: It's the Mocotini.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Eat the marshmallow.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Eat the marshmallow.
- 23:30Speaker 1: As everybody knows, we are sponsored by Edible Arrangement. And
- 23:34Speaker 1: we feel like you should get your husband an Edible
- 23:36Speaker 1: Arrangement with something from his childhood. I think you should
- 23:42Speaker 1: go nostalgic. He'll be like, oh my gosh, how did
- 23:45Speaker 1: you find this? Go on eBay for like 30 bucks,
- 23:50Speaker 1: depending on your budget. You can probably find like a
- 23:52Speaker 1: toy he grew up with. He'll be like, call his
- 23:54Speaker 1: mom or dad or cousin or uncle or auntie. Be like, yo,
- 23:58Speaker 1: what did he play with a lot? And see if
- 23:59Speaker 1: you can get that. You might be able to find
- 24:01Speaker 1: the Hulk. Remember Hulk, the stretchy Hulk?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that was good.
- 24:05Speaker 2: What was it called?
- 24:06Speaker 3: I also like the new Game Boys that you got me, Joe,
- 24:07Speaker 3: that have all the games on them. Those are cool.
- 24:10Speaker 1: They are so good. I have in my room, I'm
- 24:13Speaker 1: playing Pokemon right now. OG Pokemon.
- 24:15Speaker 3: But for everybody asking, yes, this is the Mokatini, and
- 24:17Speaker 3: you should order that.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I think we should pull a question from this bowl.
- 24:22Speaker 6: Got it.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Bowl game time. What do you think is your biggest
- 24:26Speaker 2: red flag?
- 24:30Speaker 8: Oh.
- 24:30Speaker 2: I'll start.
- 24:31Speaker 3: I can be messy.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Yes, you can.
- 24:33Speaker 3: And I can be judgmental and also reactionary.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Is that what it is?
- 24:37Speaker 2: Well, sure.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I'm working on it, guys. Working on it. We were
- 24:40Speaker 3: away this weekend when I made our bed at our
- 24:42Speaker 3: friend's house, like you did when you came to our house.
- 24:44Speaker 3: It was so nice. Even Danielle mentioned. She goes, he
- 24:47Speaker 3: made his, everything in his room is so put together.
- 24:50Speaker 11: So nice.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I was hoping she noticed. I'm not going to lie.
- 24:53Speaker 3: She noticed.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Okay. What's the red flag about you, Joe?
- 24:56Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I thought we'd tell each other what the red flags were. Oh,
- 24:59Speaker 2: Kevin's just telling us his, though. Yeah. What's mine, guys?
- 25:02Speaker 3: I think that's more dangerous, though. I don't know. I
- 25:04Speaker 3: don't want to do that.
- 25:05Speaker 1: I think that's fun.
- 25:06Speaker 2: I think it's fun. Like, you're annoying as fuck. That's true.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Facts.
- 25:13Speaker 3: You're, like, really handsome, and it's annoying.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Oh, my wife's... Priyanka, what's my red flag? What's Joe's
- 25:18Speaker 2: red flag? Like, what's my biggest red flag?
- 25:21Speaker 3: You don't have any.
- 25:21Speaker 2: There you go, Priyanka. Priyanka Chopra Jonas says.
- 25:23Speaker 3: I don't have my red flag.
- 25:24Speaker 9: Oh, Joe is.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Are we really doing this? Are we actually going to
- 25:28Speaker 3: tell each other our red flags?
- 25:30Speaker 2: Yeah, go for it.
- 25:30Speaker 3: What do we got? It's okay. I have no red
- 25:32Speaker 3: flags too. You're the only person, not only person, you
- 25:36Speaker 3: know every food place better than everybody else.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Oh, that's annoying, yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 6: Sorry.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I'm bad at... Relinquishing control to others when making a plan. Yeah.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I'll go to a city that either of you have
- 25:48Speaker 1: been to.
- 25:48Speaker 2: That I've lived in.
- 25:49Speaker 10: And lived in.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Literally lived in.
- 25:50Speaker 1: And I'll tell you where we should go for dinner. That's...
- 25:54Speaker 1: I'm getting better at that, but that's, you know.
- 25:56Speaker 3: yeah i actually noticed that you are getting better at
- 25:58Speaker 3: that actually like it's okay sometimes you gotta go with
- 26:01Speaker 3: the flow guys okay nick gotta go um where do
- 26:05Speaker 3: you want to start no i mean well it's just
- 26:08Speaker 3: i'd probably say i would say maybe you're better at
- 26:11Speaker 3: this but probably be okay with going with the flow
- 26:14Speaker 3: like you're not you're not great at going with the
- 26:16Speaker 3: flow letting somebody else have control yeah but in our
- 26:19Speaker 3: world with so many voices all the time to like
- 26:21Speaker 3: it can be.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Tough because Also like when something annoys me, like I
- 26:25Speaker 2: get like stuck on it. I can't.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:27Speaker 1: You know, when like, it'll be water off my back.
- 26:30Speaker 1: And for you, you'll be like, if somebody, if something,
- 26:32Speaker 1: somebody says something, you're like, that was annoying. Nick would
- 26:34Speaker 1: be like, my day's ruined.
- 26:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 2: You can't move on past that.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I see.
- 26:39Speaker 2: That could be about any situation. You get stuck. You
- 26:41Speaker 2: picked one.
- 26:41Speaker 3: What does it say?
- 26:42Speaker 2: What's a childhood food or snack that you still think about?
- 26:45Speaker 2: What is it? Diet Coke Zero you're on? No, it's
- 26:47Speaker 2: a Coke Zero Summer. Dunkaroos.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Love it.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Dunkaroos. And remember the Red Baron focaccia with the four
- 26:58Speaker 2: cheese that we put in the microwave after school?
- 27:00Speaker 1: I will say Lunchables and Dunkaroos were and are still
- 27:07Speaker 1: my favorite. There was a time they came back around.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Nutty Buddies. Remember these?
- 27:10Speaker 1: The wafer cookie that had chocolate?
- 27:13Speaker 3: You could like pull them apart. I just had one
- 27:16Speaker 3: for the first time in like 20 years. Maybe more yesterday.
- 27:20Speaker 3: And my head was like.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Kev, you got a question?
- 27:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I pulled one. If you no longer had to sleep,
- 27:27Speaker 3: how would you spend those extra eight hours?
- 27:29Speaker 2: Play a lot of Fortnite.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Actually, Nick, you just went through this unintentionally for like
- 27:33Speaker 3: a couple months. So what'd you do with that extra
- 27:35Speaker 3: eight hours? I can't sleep eight hours.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Eight hours is a dream, but yeah, it's not. It'd
- 27:40Speaker 2: be amazing.
- 27:40Speaker 1: I don't sleep eight hours. What's your sleep, Kev? What
- 27:44Speaker 1: numbers are we getting?
- 27:45Speaker 3: Seven to eight.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Remember, he's got a fancy bed though.
- 27:48Speaker 3: Oh, big update. We got a hamster.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, we're about to get the hamster when I
- 27:51Speaker 2: came to visit. What's the hamster's name?
- 27:53Speaker 3: Yeah, we got the hamster. Hamster's name is River.
- 27:56Speaker 11: River.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Great name.
- 27:57Speaker 3: That's a great name.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I asked her, why River? She's like, I don't know.
- 28:01Speaker 2: I was like, why not?
- 28:03Speaker 5: Why not?
- 28:04Speaker 2: That's great. I'm excited to hear the updates.
- 28:05Speaker 3: She's so in love with this hamster, and all she
- 28:08Speaker 3: does is Valentina, and she questions if it loves her
- 28:12Speaker 3: every day.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Don't we all?
- 28:13Speaker 3: Do you think it loves me? Do you think it
- 28:14Speaker 3: loves my mom?
- 28:16Speaker 2: That is the life's biggest question. I would, well, I
- 28:19Speaker 2: think I would probably... And I'd get super jacked.
- 28:23Speaker 5: Okay. Yeah.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Back to the eight hours of sleep. I'd have a
- 28:27Speaker 2: lot more time to exercise.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Four hours of extra workouts every day.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I'm lucky if I get some time in. You've got kids.
- 28:33Speaker 1: You've got life stuff.
- 28:35Speaker 3: You guys are looking very vacated, and I'm really proud
- 28:37Speaker 3: of you.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Joe would like to read an excerpt from his new
- 28:40Speaker 2: favorite book.
- 28:41Speaker 1: This is Farts in the Wild by H.W.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Schmelt. Okay, first tell the story of being on the
- 28:47Speaker 2: plane and this book going off. This book is a
- 28:50Speaker 2: gift to my daughters from Greg Garbowski and Paris Carney.
- 28:54Speaker 2: And classically, like, unks, uncles and aunties, unks, unks and aunties.
- 28:59Speaker 3: Unks and aunts.
- 29:00Speaker 1: They don't think through some of these gifts. Like, I
- 29:02Speaker 1: would be carrying them in my carry-on. And as I
- 29:05Speaker 1: got up, I hit a button. There's your buttons here.
- 29:09Speaker 1: And a loud toot blasted over first class. And everybody
- 29:14Speaker 1: could hear. The sound of my fart. Book.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Okay, let's leave our listeners with a nice excerpt. Tell
- 29:22Speaker 2: me when to stop, Kev.
- 29:23Speaker 10: Stop.
- 29:24Speaker 2: The meerkat.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Big mobs of meerkats live in sprawling networks of tunnels
- 29:29Speaker 1: and chambers deep underground. With so many meerkats living together,
- 29:33Speaker 1: a single meerkat fart can be amplified and funneled into
- 29:36Speaker 1: powerful geishas of funk.
- 29:39Speaker 7: Geishas.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 29:41Speaker 1: The tunnels are like a big twisty city with holes
- 29:44Speaker 1: that aren't just ways in and out. These holes help
- 29:47Speaker 1: release the fart pressure before it blows.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Let's hear the fart.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Fantastic.
- 29:55Speaker 2: On that note, buh-bye.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Buh-bye.
