- 0:17Speaker 3: Jason Hoyt, Mike Kesey. They've just done the trans Alphine
- 0:20Speaker 3: train from chichip to the beautiful Hokitika for tomorrow's Hookitickers
- 0:25Speaker 3: Wild Foods Festival. Now you can still get your tickets
- 0:27Speaker 3: the Wild Foods ha haang on We're at the ticket
- 0:30Speaker 3: Wildfoods dot co dot m Z. There we are, thank
- 0:32Speaker 3: you very much. Now on the show this afternoon, it
- 0:34Speaker 3: is trained themed to getting up, Get on board. We're
- 0:38Speaker 3: going to be playing back the best bits from the
- 0:41Speaker 3: Big Show's train adventure. Of course, there was that massive
- 0:44Speaker 3: walnut party just last night at the Richmond Club Critic
- 0:46Speaker 3: Bar in christ Church. I don't know whether they've recovered
- 0:49Speaker 3: from that. It looked wild. So train themed for the
- 0:55Speaker 3: Daku Big Show this afternoon with your old Palanjie pup
- 0:59Speaker 3: your choice says, hey, hey it's Friday. Got some black
- 1:03Speaker 3: keyspere shortly and of course, thanks to our sponsors Toledo's Electrolytes.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Because we're adults and hydrating a sexy Hodarky.
- 1:10Speaker 1: The Hierarchy Big Show weekdays from four on Radio Hidarchy.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Garbage on Hodaki's stupid gettle. That's, of course the drum loop,
- 1:19Speaker 3: taken infamously from the Clash's train in Vain, which, funnily enough,
- 1:23Speaker 3: I'm just about to plane second because the Big Show
- 1:26Speaker 3: today is trained themed. Jason Hoyt caught me up and said,
- 1:29Speaker 3: and do you want to do the Big Show on Friday?
- 1:31Speaker 3: I said, you're going to be there? He said no,
- 1:32Speaker 3: So I said, great love to. They are currently well,
- 1:35Speaker 3: they have just done the Trans Alpine crossing from christ
- 1:38Speaker 3: Church to hook a ticket. The Wild Food Best Ball
- 1:40Speaker 3: is going down tomorrow. They're going to be there and
- 1:43Speaker 3: so we're playing back. That's from the train.
- 1:48Speaker 4: On board the Trans Alpine.
- 1:50Speaker 5: We're on the tracks and off the rails with Jase,
- 1:54Speaker 5: Mike and Keizy.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Hurracky.
- 1:58Speaker 6: You made the founders from the Big Show here on
- 2:02Speaker 6: the trains Alpine Express and absolutely loving every second of it,
- 2:09Speaker 6: aren't we Fellers?
- 2:10Speaker 2: Sure Ja? So we just arrived at Arthur's Past station.
- 2:13Speaker 7: So we are a third of the way there, I think, yes,
- 2:16Speaker 7: And it's they're just attaching an extra train to help
- 2:19Speaker 7: us get down the hills.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 2:22Speaker 8: It's called the Old Master, is it it is? Yeah,
- 2:26Speaker 8: an extra engine. Key's in on an extra train.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Extra carriage. Why would you have two trains back to back.
- 2:35Speaker 2: The thing about that is it makes no sense.
- 2:37Speaker 7: Sometimes sometimes there are two trains back to back. If
- 2:41Speaker 7: it's like an extra heavy load.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Wow, okay.
- 2:47Speaker 8: Regardless, the journey so far has been absolutely bloody beautiful.
- 2:53Speaker 2: It is lovely, isn't it.
- 2:54Speaker 7: And it's a lot of sort of mum and part
- 2:56Speaker 7: passengers who are down here, A lot of people wearing
- 2:59Speaker 7: their licraft for they've gone on like an e bike
- 3:01Speaker 7: tour of the South Island, will guess the Transalpine.
- 3:04Speaker 8: And one guy is wearing one of the great wigs.
- 3:08Speaker 4: That is sensational whammy.
- 3:12Speaker 8: He's got the long here. It's a sort of a
- 3:15Speaker 8: an Auban tanny sort of a color, isn't it, a
- 3:17Speaker 8: light brown that's sort of down to the collar. And
- 3:21Speaker 8: then on top of that is quite clearly a cheap
- 3:25Speaker 8: wig black and color plopped right on top like a
- 3:28Speaker 8: dead cat.
- 3:29Speaker 6: But he also He also has a patch that's sort
- 3:32Speaker 6: of yellowy white. Yeah, like you'd get if you were
- 3:35Speaker 6: a heavy smoke or you know, the s used to
- 3:38Speaker 6: get on your fingers from you know, your darries.
- 3:41Speaker 4: He's certainly quite the character. But I'll tell you what.
- 3:43Speaker 4: It has been absolutely majestic.
- 3:46Speaker 6: And there's something, isn't there, fellows about the slow rocking.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Of a train that just soothes the soul.
- 3:54Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:54Speaker 8: One of the great regrets for me is that I'm
- 3:56Speaker 8: not on the Hammer, because this is Hammer time, the
- 4:00Speaker 8: train the trans Alpine. Absolutely, it really is. We've got
- 4:03Speaker 8: a great bar here, it's beautiful. It's a very comfortable
- 4:06Speaker 8: sort of a ride. But the idea of having a
- 4:08Speaker 8: five hour session on the Hammer, oh my god, opportunityly
- 4:11Speaker 8: mess your fellows.
- 4:12Speaker 2: You should be honest, responsibly of course.
- 4:14Speaker 7: Arriving in Graymouth, I'm just a reminder we are on
- 4:17Speaker 7: the Trans Alpine Express.
- 4:18Speaker 2: We're heading over to the hook.
- 4:19Speaker 7: Tek of Wild Foods Festival will be there tomorrow and
- 4:22Speaker 7: if you stick around and stay tuned on Hodarky you'll
- 4:25Speaker 7: hear a few more updates of our journey across the
- 4:28Speaker 7: Old Alpine.
- 4:28Speaker 2: There a fellers, ye mate.
- 4:31Speaker 3: More from the train coming up shortly if you want
- 4:33Speaker 3: to get yourself tickets to the Wild Foods Festival Wildfoods
- 4:35Speaker 3: dot co dot indid. Here is that tune with the
- 4:37Speaker 3: most excellent drum loop. It's the Clashes train and vain
- 4:42Speaker 3: Hadarky Afternoon.
- 4:44Speaker 1: The hold Aching Big Show with Jason, Mike and Kzy
- 4:47Speaker 1: tune in week days at four on Radio.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Hodak Angie here on Hurdarky filling in for the Hurdarchy
- 4:52Speaker 3: Big Show. Geez, we need something to brighten us up
- 4:55Speaker 3: after that tune because it's Friday stained on Hodaki. That
- 4:58Speaker 3: was outside. Now here's something that Jay's, Nike and Kezy
- 5:02Speaker 3: prepared earlier today from the trans Alpine Train.
- 5:06Speaker 9: The Radio Hora Big Cheryl en route to the Hawker
- 5:10Speaker 9: Tickle my Old Foods Festival.
- 5:14Speaker 6: H Lucky Yeah, welcome back your massive backbones. Well, the fellas,
- 5:19Speaker 6: as you know, are on the Transalpine Express. We've just
- 5:22Speaker 6: had a little stop, haven't we, fellows at Arthur's Pass
- 5:25Speaker 6: and I finally got the chance to have a quick fake.
- 5:28Speaker 6: I've been hanging out for that since about all nine
- 5:30Speaker 6: o'clock last night with my charge right.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Now, been in an absolute hoot. So you haven't enjoyed
- 5:36Speaker 2: any of the journeys so far.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Oh look, I've loved the journey, you know, and I've
- 5:39Speaker 6: been slightly upset at you guys being on your phones
- 5:42Speaker 6: the whole time taking henous photos of Poorty Jay's shoes
- 5:46Speaker 6: and face, while I've been enjoying the absolute majesty of
- 5:51Speaker 6: the landscape around me.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Well, the early we've been learning a lot on this trip, too,
- 5:55Speaker 2: and the early explorers of this area didn't seem to
- 5:58Speaker 2: be enjoying it a lot. The names, That's right.
- 6:01Speaker 8: We did a little trip there, didn't we In the
- 6:04Speaker 8: early on Just as we got through the Banks Peninsula,
- 6:08Speaker 8: there's a place called Mount Horrible, and not too far
- 6:11Speaker 8: away from that was Mount Disappointment, named by early settlers
- 6:15Speaker 8: traveling by a horse or on foot. And the train's
- 6:17Speaker 8: very slow, exhausting, of course, and often dangerous, so they
- 6:22Speaker 8: gave them these names horrible and disappointing.
- 6:25Speaker 6: What would disappointment? I don't know about you guys. You know,
- 6:29Speaker 6: they probably traveled for like twenty days. I've been probably
- 6:32Speaker 6: six or seven people have died on the Arduous and
- 6:36Speaker 6: they've been told all about this place. And I'm just
- 6:39Speaker 6: imagining an old fellow and his trill be hatstanding there
- 6:41Speaker 6: going once they arrived. Oh well, this is a disappointment,
- 6:44Speaker 6: you know what I mean? You know what I mean,
- 6:46Speaker 6: what a disappointment this is?
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yes, yes it is.
- 6:50Speaker 8: And you can't imagine really heaving to journey through this land,
- 6:52Speaker 8: either on foot or on horseback, would be a bit
- 6:55Speaker 8: of a wound.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Is tough, Yeah, because the roads wouldn't be there, would
- 6:58Speaker 2: they make you? There's no roads.
- 6:59Speaker 8: That's a about these places when they were discovered, and
- 7:02Speaker 8: even in pre moldy days.
- 7:04Speaker 2: There were no roads.
- 7:06Speaker 8: That'd be difficult man Mount difficulty, Mount difficult.
- 7:10Speaker 2: That's another place altogether that's very confusing.
- 7:13Speaker 7: But we've still had another three or four hours of
- 7:14Speaker 7: the train journey left, which I'm excited about. And after
- 7:19Speaker 7: a pretty year interesting live show last night, Yes, Critic
- 7:23Speaker 7: Bar at the Richmond Club.
- 7:24Speaker 2: There it's nice just to relax, it is.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Well, there's something very soothing about being on a train.
- 7:29Speaker 6: It just rocks you gently, doesn't it feels, especially when
- 7:33Speaker 6: you're surrounded by such spectacular scenery.
- 7:35Speaker 4: If you've never done it, you simply mass well, you
- 7:38Speaker 4: simply must if.
- 7:39Speaker 7: You do want to do it. By the way, great
- 7:40Speaker 7: journeys in z dot com. If you want to experience
- 7:43Speaker 7: New Zealand's most breathtaking train.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Journey, it will take your breath away really well.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Tell you what, had a very nice ham and cheese
- 7:49Speaker 4: croissant as well, so did.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I was yummy, it was very good. He took like
- 7:53Speaker 2: an hour to eat his. I had a big breakfast.
- 7:57Speaker 2: We'll see you soon, New Zealand.
- 8:00Speaker 1: The Hierarchy Big Show with Jas, Mike and Kezy.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Tune in on radio host tune here Friday audio slave
- 8:07Speaker 3: on Hoarky Original Fire Kyoto, your old pale Angie here
- 8:11Speaker 3: back in the hot seat, filling in for Hodaki the
- 8:13Speaker 3: hidraky Big Show Jase, Mike and Kezy. Currently as far
- 8:17Speaker 3: as I can tell, a few pints deep at montethe

- 8:28Speaker 3: the Trans Alpine train. They just in this bit here
- 8:33Speaker 3: pulled out of Arthur's Pass.
- 8:37Speaker 5: On board the Trans Alpine to the Hooker Tick our
- 8:40Speaker 5: Food Festival.
- 8:41Speaker 2: It's Jase, Mike and Kezy Radio.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Big Show.
- 8:47Speaker 6: Hurucky you welcome backy messve Backbones now we're leaving the
- 8:51Speaker 6: Arthurs Pass now. Great to see a lot of people
- 8:54Speaker 6: getting their tramping gear on fellows and getting off the
- 8:57Speaker 6: train here heading into the mountains out while it pisses
- 9:01Speaker 6: down with range.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Bloody beautiful, isn't it.
- 9:03Speaker 8: Yeah, the weather's really turned as we've gotten up to
- 9:05Speaker 8: US's Path. It used to be called, yes, Ars's Path,
- 9:08Speaker 8: it used to be called Ours's Path, and they've renamed
- 9:11Speaker 8: it to Arthur's Pass. Really because it's a very heavily
- 9:15Speaker 8: religious area back in the eighteen forties eighteen fifties that
- 9:20Speaker 8: led to the change from Ars's Path to Arthur's Path.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Why would they call it Ars's Path? Is it for
- 9:27Speaker 2: the reason I'm thinking?
- 9:28Speaker 4: Right?
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 9:29Speaker 8: Real well, if you see it, if you see it
- 9:31Speaker 8: from further back keys over my right shoulder, and if
- 9:35Speaker 8: you're looking down the valley, it has a striking resemblance
- 9:39Speaker 8: to an ass. It does so if a man was
- 9:42Speaker 8: lying all woman was lying face down us in the.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Air, preferably a man for this yarn, for this yarn.
- 9:49Speaker 8: Then in between the two mountain ranges looks like Ars's Path. Right, Well,
- 9:54Speaker 8: we've got to go straight down the gats.
- 9:56Speaker 7: It's interesting too, because We are just entering right now,
- 9:59Speaker 7: the longest train tunnel in the South Island.
- 10:01Speaker 6: It's spooky, is it. You should blow your whistle, your
- 10:05Speaker 6: train whistle.
- 10:06Speaker 7: Oh my god, I forgot my train whistle. It's down
- 10:07Speaker 7: by my other seat there.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Oh no.
- 10:10Speaker 7: But if we're entering a tunnel that is the longest
- 10:12Speaker 7: in the South Islands's path, what is this?
- 10:15Speaker 2: Where? Where are we now?
- 10:17Speaker 8: I don't know that it's something or other column. It
- 10:22Speaker 8: might be Arthur's column.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yes, right, okay, we're deep.
- 10:27Speaker 4: We're going deep into the column right now.
- 10:30Speaker 6: If you can imagine the two mountain sides on either side.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Now, we're going deep into the column. It's very too.
- 10:37Speaker 4: It's kind of spooky.
- 10:39Speaker 2: That's right.
- 10:40Speaker 4: It's the unknown, isn't it.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I feel like I'm allowed to be here.
- 10:43Speaker 8: It's very warm. It feels like home. Yeah, real familiarity somehow.
- 10:49Speaker 4: And I tell you what. It's very tight as well.
- 10:52Speaker 2: There are it's not much room on either side.
- 10:54Speaker 4: No room on either side.
- 10:57Speaker 2: The wall is really precedent.
- 10:58Speaker 4: It's really closing in.
- 11:00Speaker 2: It feels like we shouldn't be really running a train
- 11:02Speaker 2: through here. We'll be back with more updates after.

- 14:58Speaker 6: a little bit thrown when we initially, but it's all now.
- 15:02Speaker 8: We've settled now. In that two song break there, we
- 15:05Speaker 8: managed to get the correct name. It's Satan's Column.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Satan's Column?
- 15:10Speaker 2: Is that what it's called? Wow? Who is naming these places?
- 15:14Speaker 2: But look it's I'm kind of used to beingrom the outside.
- 15:18Speaker 4: But very comforting inside.
- 15:20Speaker 7: Yeah, I kind of I'm enjoying it now. At first
- 15:22Speaker 7: I was kind of like, what what's going on?
- 15:24Speaker 4: Now?
- 15:24Speaker 2: I kin't want to do it again?
- 15:25Speaker 7: Yeah, totally, But last night was good.

- 15:36Speaker 7: There was a punishment, mog you had to eat a
- 15:39Speaker 7: snail from the Wild Food Festival. Hoidy j you had
- 15:42Speaker 7: to eat a large portion of bulls testicle?
- 15:45Speaker 2: How did you know? How are you feeling about there today?
- 15:49Speaker 6: Listen, Fellas, I wish I could have been more manly
- 15:52Speaker 6: about it.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you're a disgrace, can I say that?
- 15:55Speaker 6: But can I just say in terms of the bull testicle,
- 15:58Speaker 6: it was much creamy mere than I expected, and that threw.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Me right, Okay, yeah, you have exploded.
- 16:06Speaker 4: In literally exploded in my mouth.
- 16:10Speaker 6: And but also it was a weird combination of creaminess
- 16:15Speaker 6: and sinew.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yes you were saying it was pretty Moorish.
- 16:18Speaker 6: It was well once that, you know, once you got
- 16:21Speaker 6: used to the taste.
- 16:22Speaker 8: And you have plenty of time to get used to it,
- 16:24Speaker 8: because your tutele about nine thousand times.
- 16:27Speaker 4: I was really genuinely gagging.
- 16:30Speaker 7: But yeah, well but then, guys, can we keep this
- 16:37Speaker 7: chat on the rails?
- 16:38Speaker 4: Sorry? But I got it down eventually.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Yeah, good? Would you go back for more?
- 16:42Speaker 4: Oh? Look, now that.
- 16:43Speaker 6: I've had it, it's in a quiet taste, the old
- 16:47Speaker 6: bull testicle. But I'm very intrigued to see what they're
- 16:50Speaker 6: going to throw us at the HAWKATCKA Wild Food Festival tomorrow.
- 16:54Speaker 2: It's gonna be. Yeah, there's bull semen. You'll be playing
- 16:57Speaker 2: drinking plenty of that.
- 16:58Speaker 8: And my understanding was because of me challenge to a
- 17:01Speaker 8: boat race of bull semen bull is. Now my understanding
- 17:05Speaker 8: was that when you when you were doing these challenges,
- 17:08Speaker 8: it was a shot glass. But in fact it's a pint. Yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 8: it's a pint of ball semen, a pint. Stop saying
- 17:16Speaker 8: it's making me queasy.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I honestly thought that that was bollocks.
- 17:21Speaker 2: It is from bollocks.
- 17:24Speaker 6: But but it's true, and we have been challenged. I
- 17:30Speaker 6: just see bloody, you know, drinking a pint of balls.
- 17:34Speaker 8: No, look, it's one of those things, isn't it tricky
- 17:37Speaker 8: because I've got no desire really to neck any any
- 17:42Speaker 8: ball semen. But the competitive streak, yeah.
- 17:46Speaker 4: We'll just throw it down. There will be dribbling out
- 17:48Speaker 4: the side. It's to be horrendous.
- 17:50Speaker 8: And the other thing as well, of course, which I
- 17:51Speaker 8: didn't realize freshly prepared, prepared, the old tap. There'll be
- 18:00Speaker 8: working the handles.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Back to you, Angie.
- 18:07Speaker 3: You can catch the fellas at the World Foods Festival
- 18:09Speaker 3: tomorrow if you're in the region. Wild Foods dot Coto
- 18:11Speaker 3: in zippid tickets, Band's Lights, Head Pole, Dave Dobbyn Soda
- 18:15Speaker 3: Flare playing. Here are some key relegions. It's Element Hodaki.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Afternoon, The Hidarchy Big Show, with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue.
- 18:24Speaker 3: And Kesey Living Colors Cultive Personality on Hodaki with Angie
- 18:28Speaker 3: here filling in for the Hidache Big Show. We lead
- 18:31Speaker 3: them out into the wild. They've gone rogue. Though last
- 18:33Speaker 3: night you would have heard doing a warm up party
- 18:36Speaker 3: with Monteese at the Richmond Club Critic Bar. This morning
- 18:40Speaker 3: jumped onto the Transalpine Train. They've recorded from there. You
- 18:43Speaker 3: can hear it in their voices that last night was
- 18:45Speaker 3: a little bit large. So without further ado, again from
- 18:48Speaker 3: the Trade.
- 18:50Speaker 9: The Radio Hold Racket Big Show en route to the
- 18:54Speaker 9: Hooker Ticko Wild Foods Festival.
- 18:59Speaker 6: Hurcky, great stuff, Angie, thanks for that mate.
- 19:03Speaker 4: Now I found us.
- 19:03Speaker 6: We had a very interesting hotel experience last night. This
- 19:07Speaker 6: was a great thing about being on the road to
- 19:08Speaker 6: get to stay in different places. Last night, I would
- 19:11Speaker 6: have to say was very unique.
- 19:15Speaker 7: Yeah, well, I mean I would go as far as
- 19:16Speaker 7: saying it was probably the worst accommodation we've ever been
- 19:19Speaker 7: put in.
- 19:19Speaker 8: Yeah, that's right, and we've shared accommodation before. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 8: this is hands down the smallest. It was like something
- 19:25Speaker 8: out of sort of Eastern Europe. I'd say, like a
- 19:29Speaker 8: chech near.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Yes.
- 19:31Speaker 2: During a war.
- 19:32Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, very small, very small, and it was like
- 19:36Speaker 7: a safe saving. Space saving was obviously pretty high on
- 19:39Speaker 7: the priority list.
- 19:40Speaker 4: That was.
- 19:41Speaker 2: And I sent a photo to my wife of me
- 19:43Speaker 2: lying in bed and my arms stretched out and I
- 19:45Speaker 2: could almost touch the toilet door. Yes, And it was
- 19:49Speaker 2: a very interesting toilet shower set up too, because it
- 19:51Speaker 2: was like this rounded little cubicle. Half of it was
- 19:54Speaker 2: the toilet. It was like if you pitch a third
- 19:57Speaker 2: of a wheel of cheese. Half of that the toilet,
- 20:00Speaker 2: the other half of shower. Very very no cheese in it,
- 20:03Speaker 2: but not without cheese, well there was for a bit there.
- 20:05Speaker 8: If you picture a circle similarly, it's not a wheel
- 20:08Speaker 8: of cheese, but works the same way.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I had a different room I had. Mine was very
- 20:11Speaker 2: much like a wheel of cheese.
- 20:13Speaker 6: What I really appreciated Fellers was the massive mirror that
- 20:16Speaker 6: was parallel to the bed. It was excellent, which I
- 20:18Speaker 6: think was trying to create the illusion of space.
- 20:21Speaker 8: That's right. It's one of the one of the tricks
- 20:23Speaker 8: of interior designers. You add a mirror and it does
- 20:26Speaker 8: provide that illusion. It was odd as I was lying
- 20:28Speaker 8: in bed nude and I looked over to my right,
- 20:31Speaker 8: and I was shocked to see another man next to
- 20:34Speaker 8: me nude as well. Yes, And next to us was
- 20:38Speaker 8: two guys in the mirror nude.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Yes.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Wait what.
- 20:42Speaker 6: One of the things one of the things that we
- 20:47Speaker 6: discovered too was I I.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Don't worry it was.
- 20:54Speaker 4: What's that Jason I mentioned in the show yesterday.
- 20:56Speaker 6: You know that I don't like to do steamers on planes,
- 20:58Speaker 6: and so I'd saved up for the hotel room, thinking
- 21:02Speaker 6: I'll be in the privacy of my own room there,
- 21:05Speaker 6: which I you know, Julie did. And as we were saying,
- 21:08Speaker 6: the toilet was literally about two feet away from the
- 21:10Speaker 6: head of the bed. But then when I was trying
- 21:13Speaker 6: to flush said toilet, she wouldn't go down, she wouldn't bad.
- 21:16Speaker 8: And I'd had a similar problem in my room. Jason,
- 21:18Speaker 8: I discovered that the flush was coin operated. You had
- 21:22Speaker 8: to insert a twenty cent piece in order to be
- 21:25Speaker 8: able to flush, and they were making money anyway they could.
- 21:29Speaker 7: We just got a little message here, tell you what,
- 21:31Speaker 7: Why don't we throw back to Angie the man.
- 21:33Speaker 8: We'll come back to this because this message could go
- 21:35Speaker 8: for up to an hour.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Yeah, cheers, Thanks fellas, We'll take a break right here,
- 21:39Speaker 3: which will give you time actually to go lace up
- 21:41Speaker 3: your docks to have a mosh to the next tune
- 21:43Speaker 3: that's coming up after the break. It's a real just
- 21:45Speaker 3: finished work. On a Friday, you tune so hod onto
- 21:48Speaker 3: your hats The.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Darky Big Show was Jason, Mike and Kyzy tune.
- 21:53Speaker 3: In on Radio Monkeys on Hodarchy. Do I want to know?
- 21:58Speaker 3: You know ninety nine percent of the time, trust me,
- 22:00Speaker 3: you don't. In fact, I don't know if I want
- 22:02Speaker 3: to know what the Big Show have prepared for us next.
- 22:06Speaker 3: They spent five hours on the Beautiful trends Alpine train crossing,
- 22:11Speaker 3: but I think they started to go a little still cry.
- 22:15Speaker 2: On board the Trendsalpine.
- 22:17Speaker 4: So the Hooker Dig Your Food Festival, it's.
- 22:20Speaker 9: Jase, Mike and Kizzy the Radio Racke Big, Shelly Lucky.
- 22:27Speaker 6: That's great stuff. Well that's Friday.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know what she's like.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I know totally she's on. I mean, why wouldn't you.
- 22:37Speaker 2: On the firewater.
- 22:38Speaker 6: So we were discussing the hotel room last night. Where
- 22:40Speaker 6: was a coin operated Danny? Yeah, basically twenty I mean,
- 22:43Speaker 6: who care? It was twenty cents to do the flush
- 22:46Speaker 6: because I was vigorously trying to flash it, but it
- 22:48Speaker 6: wouldn't Bud, Yes, I mean, who carries a twenty cent
- 22:51Speaker 6: piece these days?
- 22:52Speaker 2: Well nobody.
- 22:53Speaker 8: That's why the reception I said, they're open all night
- 22:55Speaker 8: and you can go down and get your twenty cent pieces.
- 22:58Speaker 8: But yeah, I mean for the sake of twenty cents.
- 23:01Speaker 8: I mean, I guess it all adds up, you know,
- 23:03Speaker 8: you think to yourself or twenty See, it's how many
- 23:05Speaker 8: steamers am I going to go for in twenty four hours?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Maybe four or five? Normal?
- 23:09Speaker 4: They've got a if your mowgi six or cent not normal?
- 23:13Speaker 8: Now, okay, they're getting a dollar out of you. And
- 23:15Speaker 8: if there's one hundred rooms there, that's one hundred dollars
- 23:17Speaker 8: a day, seven hundred dollars a week. Is it really
- 23:20Speaker 8: worth it at that point? I'm not sure your way
- 23:22Speaker 8: of carrying it, Jason, because you're embarrassing. You didn't want
- 23:25Speaker 8: the maid to see that you had left your fecal
- 23:28Speaker 8: metal there in the toilet and you hadn't spotted the
- 23:31Speaker 8: coin operated system. Was you scooped out your number two
- 23:35Speaker 8: and your stuffed it into your kettle?
- 23:38Speaker 6: You tell us a little bit about that yeah, and
- 23:41Speaker 6: this is actually quite embarrassing feeling. So I stuffed it
- 23:44Speaker 6: into the kettle and completely forgot about it. And then,
- 23:48Speaker 6: of course I'll wake up this morning at bloody five o'clock.
- 23:51Speaker 6: Oh god, I'll pound a coffee inside myself, so, you know,
- 23:55Speaker 6: fill the kettle up, turned the basket on and boil
- 23:58Speaker 6: the living crap out.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Of my Yeah.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Right, did you have a coffee?
- 24:02Speaker 4: I did, but the kona and it was.
- 24:08Speaker 2: So glad we came back and finished that.
- 24:10Speaker 7: Yarn off the Angie back to you in the studio,
- 24:12Speaker 7: lay off the beers.
- 24:19Speaker 3: I just I just don't have it. I've got nothing
- 24:22Speaker 3: to I've got nothing. I got nothing more train theme tunes.
- 24:26Speaker 3: That's what I got. Sol Asylum right here, Runaway Train
- 24:31Speaker 3: on Hurdaki with Angie. You got a.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Hurdarchy Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Kesey.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I don't know if you remember back in nineteen ninety
- 24:41Speaker 3: three when that song came out, Sol Asylum Runaway Train
- 24:43Speaker 3: on Hodaki. Their music video featured a whole lot of
- 24:46Speaker 3: missing children like on the back of milk cuttons, names
- 24:49Speaker 3: and faces. There are about thirty kids that they showed
- 24:53Speaker 3: they found twenty one of them returned safely to their family.
- 24:58Speaker 3: So I reckon man I Solosylum just known for that
- 25:00Speaker 3: one song, that one song, oh that changed lives on
- 25:03Speaker 3: your fellas. Now speaking of changing lives. The hohot Ichy
- 25:08Speaker 3: Big Show, well, they did the trans Alpine Crossing earlier.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Today they've gone rogue the wild in the South Island.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Let's just say I will be playing back more of
- 25:18Speaker 3: the recording from the train, but a caveat that. We're
- 25:22Speaker 3: getting more and more unhinged as that recording went on,
- 25:24Speaker 3: so I genuinely don't know what we're going to be
- 25:26Speaker 3: hearing after six o'clock. Brace yourselves also got Navana in
- 25:29Speaker 3: there too, an oasis the whole.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Achy Big Show with Jason, Mike and Kezy tune in
- 25:36Speaker 1: week days at four on Radio.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Hold Ike and Angelina, how you doing. I've been kind
- 25:41Speaker 3: of manning the desk. Well, the Hierockey Big Show, they've
- 25:43Speaker 3: been released into the wild. They've gone rogue currently in
- 25:45Speaker 3: Hooker Ticket did the trans Alpine Crossing earlier, which they
- 25:48Speaker 3: recorded from. I actually feel sorry for the other passengers
- 25:52Speaker 3: on the train, so got more unhinged as it went on.
- 25:56Speaker 3: More of those recordings from the train. Will we played
- 25:59Speaker 3: back real soon for you In the meantime, If you
- 26:01Speaker 3: want to get amongst and meet them at the Wild
- 26:03Speaker 3: Foods Festival where they're going to be tomorrow, jump on board,
- 26:06Speaker 3: get yourself ticket Wildfoods dot Co, dot n Z. And
- 26:09Speaker 3: a big thanks to these sponsors of the Big Show,
- 26:12Speaker 3: Toledo's Electrolytes. I think the Big Show after their live
- 26:16Speaker 3: recording last night, probably need them. Thanks your life changing
- 26:20Speaker 3: I swear now on the way through Relson, we've got
- 26:24Speaker 3: some Chili's. We're gonna go Awasis alongside more change hat
- 26:29Speaker 3: right here, we're going to Varna's in Bloom.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Hodiki the Hiarchy Big Show was Jason, Mike and Kyzy
- 26:35Speaker 1: tune in on.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Radioiki, Oasis and Hodaki Champagne, soup and over. Mel Gallagher
- 26:41Speaker 3: at the times that the lyrics were just nonsense. He
- 26:45Speaker 3: had no idea what he was talking about, so that
- 26:47Speaker 3: kind of makes it the perfect soundtrack to this next bit.
- 26:50Speaker 3: When The Big Show earlier recorded on the Trends Alpine
- 26:54Speaker 3: crossing small caveat they were getting unhinged. So good luck to.
- 26:58Speaker 5: Us all on board the trans Alpine. We're on the
- 27:03Speaker 5: tracks and off the rails with cheese make and Kizy.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Lucky.
- 27:10Speaker 6: Yeah, great stuff and Gie, thanks for that, appreciate it.
- 27:13Speaker 6: We should also point out not only are we on
- 27:15Speaker 6: the trans Alpine train, we're actually broadcasting in the middle
- 27:20Speaker 6: of the sort of cafe cart trails where people can
- 27:24Speaker 6: get your toasted sandwiches, your croissants, your coffees.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:29Speaker 7: I've partaken in a crossant with ham and cheese, very
- 27:31Speaker 7: nice coffee as.
- 27:32Speaker 8: I had a big breakfast there. It was two sausages
- 27:36Speaker 8: the size of my forearms. Yes, they were massive, a
- 27:40Speaker 8: quarter of a mushroom and one true tomato.
- 27:42Speaker 2: It was delicious.
- 27:43Speaker 6: Now, fellas, I understand the Wars are playing on our
- 27:47Speaker 6: playing tonight because you've been banging on about it all afternoon.
- 27:50Speaker 4: What's the plan for tonight?
- 27:52Speaker 2: The Wars are playing eight pm tonight against the Raiders.
- 27:55Speaker 2: It's also it's at Mount Smart Stadium up in Auckland there,
- 27:58Speaker 2: so we'll be finding a local up. I'm thinking Stumpers Bar,
- 28:01Speaker 2: which we did a live show from last year.
- 28:04Speaker 7: He's going to be packed at the Gunns. I'm pecking hopefully.
- 28:07Speaker 7: I'm pretty sure it's the West Coast too. They're big
- 28:08Speaker 7: on rugby league. They'll love a bit of buck Bellogue.
- 28:11Speaker 7: It'll be the legal Beyond, not the Rugby Union. So
- 28:14Speaker 7: I'm thinking Stumpers Bar. If you're in the area, come
- 28:16Speaker 7: on down. Although by the time you've heard this and
- 28:20Speaker 7: then make your way there, it might not be worth it.
- 28:22Speaker 8: But I've got a good feeling about tonight's game. Moggie, Yeah, yeah,
- 28:25Speaker 8: I do too. I'm excited about it. I like beating
- 28:28Speaker 8: up the Raiders. There's something about them I don't like.
- 28:30Speaker 8: I don't know what it lives, although I do like
- 28:32Speaker 8: Sticky Sticky Wreck. I'm a big fan because he wears
- 28:37Speaker 8: is hard on his sleeve. He loves his buck be
- 28:39Speaker 8: League Radio.
- 28:41Speaker 6: Yes, I think the Raiders are going to absolutely deal
- 28:47Speaker 6: to the Wars tonight.
- 28:48Speaker 4: That's my prediction.
- 28:49Speaker 2: What's what's that based on?
- 28:50Speaker 4: It's based I hope my huge knowledge of League.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Are you going to come to the pub and watch
- 28:55Speaker 2: it with us?
- 28:55Speaker 8: Oh?
- 28:55Speaker 6: Look, HEP's hearing at the moment. And I want to
- 28:59Speaker 6: sort of teak out this sort of area because I
- 29:01Speaker 6: haven't spent a lot of time there. I'll see how
- 29:03Speaker 6: I go keezy maybe maybe, not not quite sure at
- 29:07Speaker 6: this point.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Actually, you know, don't even worry about it. You do
- 29:10Speaker 2: not invite it. But look back to you, Angie, You're
- 29:14Speaker 2: doing a great job so far. Considering love love you.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Thanks Mixed Queens of the Stone Age and Metallica on
- 29:20Speaker 3: Hodaki The Hidarchy.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Kesey Kick here.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I got my tickets in the pre sale. Earliot this
- 29:28Speaker 3: week count ball them and wait Gina eating part Christmas
- 29:31Speaker 3: Time a game on Genr's Night Train on Hodaki, tying
- 29:35Speaker 3: in very nicely with our train themed big show today.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Of course, the final recording from Jace, Mike and Kesey
- 29:43Speaker 3: from the Trans Alpine Train. Just don't don't. It's not
- 29:47Speaker 3: my fault what they say. They lost it. Kevin fever A,
- 29:50Speaker 3: go go okay.
- 29:52Speaker 9: Oh Radio hold rack here, Big Cheryl en route to
- 29:56Speaker 9: the Hooker Ticco Wild Foods Festival.
- 30:01Speaker 6: Great stuff. Angie is sounding a lot better now. Listen
- 30:06Speaker 6: as we say said, we're in the cafe cart at
- 30:08Speaker 6: the moment doing the final break, and I believe that
- 30:11Speaker 6: there's something that you want to share.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Emoje.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Well, we were just we were talking earlier on about
- 30:18Speaker 2: our rooms. Wen't we heard you? Jay?
- 30:19Speaker 8: I went down to the foyer last night. I ran
- 30:22Speaker 8: into you when we got to chatting. Our rooms For
- 30:26Speaker 8: those that didn't hear, probably about two or three meters squarish, yes,
- 30:31Speaker 8: snuff room for a bed and a mirror and a toilet,
- 30:34Speaker 8: and that was around about it. The smallest and worst
- 30:37Speaker 8: hotel room I think any of us have ever been in.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and to be also, we're quite easy to please to.
- 30:42Speaker 8: And I should point out no windows. Yes, we haven't
- 30:44Speaker 8: mentioned that there's no windows.
- 30:46Speaker 4: And coin operated toilets.
- 30:48Speaker 2: That's right.
- 30:49Speaker 8: You couldn't flush the toilet unless you had a twenty
- 30:50Speaker 8: cent piece, which is the first time I've ever seen that,
- 30:55Speaker 8: and it might be a sign of things to come.
- 30:57Speaker 8: But I saw you in the four year Jace. And
- 31:00Speaker 8: what Keysy won't know is that we went to reception
- 31:03Speaker 8: and we upgraded our rooms. We both got ourselves some
- 31:08Speaker 8: lovely rooms up there on the fifth and sex floor,
- 31:10Speaker 8: sex floor, making beautiful. Saw the beautiful views across the city.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Windows galore? Are you kidding?
- 31:17Speaker 4: So many? There's too many?
- 31:19Speaker 2: Were thinis.
- 31:19Speaker 8: I rang up and I said, can you get rid
- 31:21Speaker 8: of a few of these windows because it's ruining my sleep.
- 31:24Speaker 2: So you actually upgraded your rooms.
- 31:25Speaker 8: Yeah, also free of charge because we're huge radio DJs.
- 31:30Speaker 2: It doesn't that doesn't make any sense.
- 31:32Speaker 4: Really, Yes, we did.
- 31:34Speaker 2: So you went into those tiny rooms and you said,
- 31:35Speaker 2: we can't do it. I simply can't.
- 31:37Speaker 6: Well I just re and I mean I'm not a
- 31:39Speaker 6: big fowler, but I was so claustrophobic and that you
- 31:42Speaker 6: literally couldn't And I'm a pacer, that's right, So I
- 31:44Speaker 6: couldn't walk anywhere. I was just lying on my bed nude,
- 31:47Speaker 6: going what am I doing with my life?
- 31:49Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 31:49Speaker 7: Right, okay, So and they just gave it to you
- 31:51Speaker 7: free of charge.
- 31:53Speaker 8: And I'll tell you what, this is a sign of
- 31:55Speaker 8: how bad these rooms are. The receptionist, without a word
- 31:58Speaker 8: of same one that checked us and when we arrived,
- 32:00Speaker 8: was there and she said, I thought you would be
- 32:02Speaker 8: back here. Really I thought you would be back here.
- 32:05Speaker 8: I didn't think that you would take those rooms. Wow,
- 32:08Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 32:08Speaker 2: There was something you could do. The toilet's still coin operated.
- 32:12Speaker 8: The toilet's not well they were, but there was a
- 32:13Speaker 8: stack of twenty cent pieces on the cistern.
- 32:16Speaker 4: Wow.
- 32:17Speaker 2: He's probably payWave as well.
- 32:18Speaker 4: Yeah, there was payWave. You could use your credit card.
- 32:21Speaker 6: Hey, but listen, we're continuing great Mouth. It's been an
- 32:26Speaker 6: absolute pleasure bringing you the off the Rails show here
- 32:30Speaker 6: live on the train, and of course we'll be back
- 32:35Speaker 6: on Monday with the full show at full steam ahead.
- 32:37Speaker 6: And Angie, you take care of yourself, all right.
- 32:39Speaker 7: That's right, Andie, just just while you're there, just to
