- 0:20Favorite happy places her chicken coop, along with all her
- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:29Good morning from the Porch today because we are in a very,
- 0:34very, very heavy rainstorm. I had to let the girls out and
- 0:38it was too rainy to record over there.
- 0:41So windy because it was coming in the door.
- 0:43So, it was just messy. So, this morning, we're doing it
- 0:46from the porch, so you can still hear him.
- 0:49He's in the lawn right now. Apparently they don't mind the
- 0:53rain. I don't mind it either because
- 0:55it's taking care of all the stuff that's growing.
- 0:57However, I don't want to be soaking wet but Just to my
- 1:01point. Today we're talking about being
- 1:03adaptable and this is one thing that I absolutely love about my
- 1:08chickens is that they are really, really adaptable to
- 1:11whatever happens if it's pouring, they figure out what
- 1:15they're doing. They are out anyway, you'll see
- 1:18them in the lawn. If it's not raining too hard,
- 1:20they are all over our farm free-ranging.
- 1:23If it's pouring, they run, they find other places to be.
- 1:27They go under their Coop because it's elevated.
- 1:29So they can hide I'd they will sit under a tree, they will come
- 1:33on the porch, which I think is really funny.
- 1:35They'll all sit on the porch and like wait and again, the being
- 1:39adaptable factor is huge and I admire them for that.
- 1:44They are quickly adaptable. As soon as I put them into the
- 1:48new Coupe, they didn't complain that you know it wasn't the old
- 1:52Coupe or they were missing things or anything else.
- 1:54They figured out where their spot was and they were good
- 1:57whatever happens with them. They seem to be Adaptable, even
- 2:01the tragedies when we lose chickens and it happens because
- 2:04just last week, I found one of my chickens and she was just
- 2:08there on the ground dead and no visible signs of anything that
- 2:13happened and we suspect something must have spooked her.
- 2:19And she got hit and she just probably broke her neck or
- 2:23something. Because her neck didn't look
- 2:25right, but no wounds. So no Hawks and there was no
- 2:28warning in the area from anything else.
- 2:30But But in any event they saw her there and they didn't dwell
- 2:35on it and the lesson in this that I want to talk to you about
- 2:40today is just that this this ability to be so quickly,
- 2:44adaptable makes it so that they can survive, they are prey
- 2:49items. Let's be very clear about it.
- 2:50Everything wants to eat a chicken possum, raccoons, foxes
- 2:54coyotes, dogs, Hawks owls. I could Eagles, we could go on
- 3:00and on about the The list of things here where we live that
- 3:03are predators for them but they don't spend their life worried
- 3:09about that. They just don't, they just move
- 3:11on. If they get scared, they're
- 3:13scared for a short period of time and then they're like, okay
- 3:16let's move on and they do. And I think that that's such a
- 3:20fantastic trait, it's kind of like dogs, they move on.
- 3:25It is so quickly apparent to me how much while we want to
- 3:31believe because we're the higher thinking species that we are.
- 3:34So have the, such a great ability to adapt.
- 3:38Oftentimes, we are not really adapting.
- 3:41What we're doing is living in fear, and we've cut away a part
- 3:45of ourselves because we're in such a state of fear, as to as
- 3:48opposed to being truly adaptable where you look and you go, okay?
- 3:52You know what, this is, how it's going to.
- 3:54I'm going to change this. Is what's going to happen and
- 3:56you let the rest of it go. So the adaptability is taking
- 4:00what you can learn from a situation and then moving on,
- 4:04not dwelling, in it, not having a, an overwhelming sense of.
- 4:10How am I going to stay safe? How am I going to, you know,
- 4:15avoid this from ever happening again?
- 4:17Because when you live in avoidance, you actually avoid
- 4:20good stuff, too. And this level of adaptability
- 4:24that we need to create Eight for ourselves, has to be built out
- 4:28of a constant state of awareness for what emotions, we're using
- 4:33day-to-day being adaptable, looking at something and, and
- 4:37being able to shift when, you know, you need to and letting go
- 4:43of what those old emotions were that are holding.
- 4:45You back is so critically important to real growth re.
- 4:50And I, when I say real growth, I mean not just growing and
- 4:55getting little tiny pieces from it, which is still fine.
- 4:58But real growth is when you let go of the emotion of it, when
- 5:02you can tell your story and you're not in tears, you can say
- 5:07this is what happened. But that was a different version
- 5:10of myself. That is hard work, my friends
- 5:13but it's so worth it. Believe me.
- 5:14I know I've had to do it multiple times and now I can
- 5:17talk about things. Now, I can tell the stories and
- 5:20I don't fall to pieces because there's no emotional
- 5:23connectivity to it. I just not know, it brought me
- 5:25to who I am today. So work on your adaptability
- 5:30work on letting go of those emotions work on being able to
- 5:33shift and just taking what you can be adaptable.
- 5:38All right, my friends. I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:40Hopefully right from the chicken coop, and I hope you have a
- 5:43blessed day. Bye.
