- 0:28Hey, everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31So this morning we are talking about morning rituals that boost
- 0:36your energy for the day. So often we we don't think about
- 0:40the fact that we're going to have to sustain ourselves for a
- 0:42period of time and when we don't put ourselves into the right
- 0:46headspace and physically as well, not just mentally, but
- 0:50physically, they both work in tandem, they both work hand in
- 0:53hand. And when you don't have one set
- 0:55up, then the other one causes your you to go downhill.
- 0:59So morning rituals for me obviously are important.
- 1:03I'm in a chicken coop. I just, I look forward to coming
- 1:07out here every single morning. It's never a chore to me because
- 1:11they are so silly and they crack me up the way they are and
- 1:15they're just fun for me. So one of my morning rituals is
- 1:19obviously to come out and open up their main gate.
- 1:23Their little door opens up into their run, but you know their
- 1:26main gate that opens up into the whole farm.
- 1:29It's a thing for me to come out, give them breakfast.
- 1:32You guys have probably seen pictures on social media of the
- 1:34fact that they have these platters for breakfast while
- 1:37they have their chicken food. I spoil them.
- 1:39This morning they're having oatmeal with coconut oil, chia
- 1:43seeds and bananas. And the platters are actually
- 1:46already empty because they loved it so much.
- 1:49And every day I try to make them a platter of something one.
- 1:53It helps them but really helps me.
- 1:55It's a morning ritual of nurturing, so that is the key
- 2:00for me personally. I recognize that if I nurture
- 2:03myself before I go out and try to take care of anything else in
- 2:08the world, I'm going to feel better.
- 2:10And taking care of them makes me feel good because they're my
- 2:14chosen pets, just like the dogs and the cat are my chosen pets.
- 2:19I love to take care of things, my flowers, all of that.
- 2:23And it's part of a process for me that builds me up.
- 2:28It's not just about having other things to do.
- 2:30So when people say to me, well, doesn't it bother you that you
- 2:32have so many things to take care of?
- 2:34I don't look at it that way because I look at it like as I
- 2:38am nurturing them. I'm filling myself back up
- 2:41because that word nurturing for me is an important aspect of my
- 2:44identity. So it's a morning ritual for me.
- 2:49What else do I do in the morning that will help me sustain my
- 2:52energy for throughout the day? Well, first and foremost for me,
- 2:56it's a it's reading. Every morning I have a book of
- 2:59some sort. I probably have like 5 different
- 3:02books going on right now. They're all in a pile and I pick
- 3:04them up and I'll grab from one and I'll start reading it.
- 3:08And even if it's two pages, it doesn't matter.
- 3:11I have a highlighter. I sit.
- 3:13I. Take information in that makes
- 3:15me feel good and I focus on that because that's something that
- 3:20again, is going to help me sustain my mental energy
- 3:23throughout the day. Going again with mental energy,
- 3:28listening to something. So once I can't sit and read
- 3:31because the time is ticking and I've got to obviously do mom
- 3:34chores and. Business chores.
- 3:37I've got to start moving, so then I turn it on to an audible
- 3:40that I can play out loud or videos.
- 3:42I'm in a class right now, so I'll I'll watch a video while
- 3:45I'm making a pancake or while I'm even preparing the platters
- 3:48for the chickens to come outside.
- 3:50I will have that going. And that really helps a lot
- 3:53because it gives me the ability to say, OK, I've got this, like,
- 3:57you know, knowledge that I'm taking in, which makes me feel
- 4:01amazing in the process. So think about it as like I'm
- 4:05building, building, building. This is why I shoot the podcast,
- 4:07so you guys can have something out there that you can go to and
- 4:11fill you up. And for me, just shooting this
- 4:14for you helps me fill that up once I'm out here.
- 4:16So that's another thing. Now let's talk physical for a
- 4:19second because the physical aspects of the morning rituals
- 4:23should be just as dialed in. You know, some people start
- 4:27their day immediately with coffee and.
- 4:30It's not the healthiest thing to start with, just coffee.
- 4:34It it has been said that if you can drink 8 ounces of water
- 4:37first you're going to hydrate your body, get that underway,
- 4:41then you can have your coffee, You're going to feel more
- 4:43energy. Now, I'm not a caffeine drinker
- 4:46at all. Can you imagine what I'd be like
- 4:48if I had caffeine? So I can't tell you that that
- 4:52works or does not work because I have just.
- 4:56A natural energy I can't necessarily explain, but I do
- 5:00believe it's because of all the other things that are mental
- 5:02that I put into place so I don't have to rely on a supplement
- 5:05type of thing. However, I do drink a ton of
- 5:07water and that is a constant thing to keep your energy up.
- 5:12Having that water in your body will make it easier for you to
- 5:17function throughout your day. And another thing is having a
- 5:21really solid breakfast, having a really like something that fuels
- 5:25you. For me, it's protein shakes.
- 5:27It's not food. Some days it'll be oatmeal
- 5:30because I really like oatmeal and it's a slow burn.
- 5:33But you've got to find your things that are healthy for you
- 5:36and do those like having a bagel, not necessarily healthy
- 5:40because it's too many carbs right away.
- 5:42So it's really trying to figure out those little things.
- 5:46That fill your morning up so that you feel good and you're
- 5:49fuelled. It's not.
- 5:50It's filling up and fuelling up and using that to take you
- 5:55through the day. So hopefully those little tips
- 5:57will help you and you'll put your morning ritual into place
- 6:01for energy. All right, my friends, I hope
- 6:04you have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 6:06Bye.
