- 0:05I always tell people when they're like, Oh well, the
- 0:07customers aren't always right. No, they're not because I truly
- 0:12believe when you put your employees 1st and you take care
- 0:16of them, they care about their job and they automatically will
- 0:22take care of your cost. You know, all, all of my
- 0:25locations were five star rated. You know, we're not the biggest
- 0:28company in town, but we quote people all the time and we're
- 0:31more expensive. But well, the service we offer
- 0:35is way more high than a lot of the other companies in town.
- 0:38And I think that's just because putting them first are are
- 0:41employees. First, welcome to Mobile 5
- 0:43Wednesdays. Let's go.
- 0:46Welcome to Mobile 5. Wednesdays, welcome to fight It.

- 2:15there. And slippers on Wednesdays.
- 2:17I'm so excited to have fun. You know, this is what it's all
- 2:20about and I kind of want to hit it off with, you know.
- 2:23We'll see where we're at, where we're.
- 2:25At. Why are you?
- 2:27Moving legends retreat. It's the end of day one.
- 2:30And who spoke today? Did you speak today?
- 2:35Did not, I did not get the gratification of speaking today.
- 2:40Today we heard the legend. The Larry O'Toole.
- 2:45One of the one. Of Mark, Our own Mark gave his
- 2:48speech. There, Larry O'Toole is one of
- 2:51the main reasons I even showed. I mean, the guy's a.
- 2:53Legend he really Larry legend for sure the.
- 2:55Movie so when I. Found out that you when you
- 2:59found out that I was on the roster you didn't just like
- 3:02automatically sign up you go man I.
- 3:03Got to tell you were like automatic and then liberal tools
- 3:08kind of like that actually like, you know like the frosting on
- 3:11the. Cake, you know, we we talked
- 3:16about this in episode where me and Jason Braginsky from Movie
- 3:19Pro. Pro Legends.
- 3:22Retreat, retreat on. It's the third year in a row
- 3:25that. Happens the podcast shift.
- 3:27Happens. Stephen Reed episode 1 and 2
- 3:33calm. And there which is we talked
- 3:37about this where it is, you know, when you come to a smaller
- 3:40type of conference, when you come to a more intimate retreat,
- 3:43you have this amazing opportunity to go hang out.
- 3:46You know, you have 40 to 50 guys and gals that are running moving
- 3:52companies and a lot of them are either around 500 to 1,000,000,
- 3:571,000,000 to 3,000,000 and then you get like the 5 million to
- 4:00like 20 million. Up to Larry O'Toole at 70
- 4:03million. 7070. 70 which is 20 this camera.
- 4:07And everything else. 70. So what's amazing is 70 what a
- 4:12lot of other conferences you. Can run.
- 4:16The opportunity to actually have a one-on-one and sit down with a
- 4:19lot of business owners that have been in the game for this long.
- 4:24You know, I kind of want throw it your way because we were
- 4:27talking, we've chatted. You're part of the mastermind
- 4:29group Move by Nation. Group 3 Right 3 three.
- 4:33Group 14. Life.
- 4:38Muslim movers group. Three.
- 4:39That's right. I kind of wonder, I kind of
- 4:42understand your story. I mean, you, you didn't
- 4:44originally started in like just have your, you didn't grow up in
- 4:49Vegas, your businesses in Vegas. And if you can't see.
- 4:52You started moving. He's got a Welcome to Las Vegas
- 4:54sign tattoo on his arm with deals.
- 4:58The man lives Vegas all day, right?
- 5:01I was on my 10th anniversary, went to Vegas, he was upset.
- 5:04I didn't include him. A wiring business.
- 5:07Business and where you're sitting at right now, it's Chris
- 5:12Knowles. Is he joining us right now?
- 5:14Is he coming to grab a chair? There's no.
- 5:17You can grab you can grab a stool.
- 5:18And come grab a stool, yeah. So OK, So what exactly do you
- 5:21want to know? I want to know how you even
- 5:23started getting this whole. Situation.
- 5:25How did you end up in? When I first came to Las Vegas
- 5:29back in 2017, actually, it was October 1st, 2017.
- 5:36I don't know if you guys know that, but that was the day of
- 5:38the shooting. Wow, a lot of weird stuff.
- 5:40Happening Vegas. There, That was their first
- 5:42concert, right? That was the first day I moved
- 5:45to Vegas. What did I bring myself?
- 5:48Into that, literally that was the first day I moved to Vegas.
- 5:52And when I did, I was working at gas stations.
- 5:57I was working at all different type of places.
- 6:00And I, I came across, you know, moving companies and I started
- 6:05working for a couple of different moving companies for
- 6:08about 14 months. And I decided, you know, at
- 6:11least in Las Vegas, a few of the movie companies, I seen how they
- 6:15like to get over on their customers and then on their
- 6:18employees. And I was like, I know I can do
- 6:21this better. So I started my own company and
- 6:27we've been in business for about 6 years now and.
- 6:31Congratulations. We were the highest rated moving
- 6:35company in Las Vegas, nice and people.
- 6:38So my supplier came to my office about two weeks ago and he was
- 6:42like, hey, how's business? And I was like, we're fucking
- 6:45slammed nice. And he was like, well, everybody
- 6:49else is dead. And I was like, well, for us,
- 6:53we're up 300%. What do you think you were doing
- 6:56differently in your business to be up 300%?
- 7:00One and all. I'll always admire this.
- 7:03I put my employees first. I always tell people when
- 7:06they're like, Oh well, the customers aren't always right.
- 7:08No, they're not because I truly believe when you put your
- 7:13employees 1st and you take care of them, they care about their
- 7:18job and they automatically will take care of your customer.
- 7:23You know, all, all of my locations were five star rated.
- 7:27You know, we're not the biggest company in town, but we quote
- 7:30people all the time and we're more expensive.
- 7:32But well, the service we offer is way more high than a lot of
- 7:37the other companies in town. And I think that's just because
- 7:39putting them first are are employees first.
- 7:41What do you think? What do you think is the biggest
- 7:43difficulty for you to grow even larger?
- 7:47Like where? Where do you think some of the
- 7:48struggles are that you're sitting on right now in 2026?
- 7:55That's a good question. I don't even think that that's
- 7:58Vegas is so hungry for a legit moving company.
- 8:03My biggest concern is keeping up with the leads.
- 8:08It's how many trucks you guys running?
- 8:095. 5 now 5 trucks warehouse. And actually just a it's a
- 8:15little bit of an occasion today, first day to run 5 trucks.
- 8:18He just added a truck to the fleet, got it running.
- 8:21Fantastic. So, so like a lot of other
- 8:24companies, been there 15/17/20 years, but they're just the
- 8:29average, you know, burning turn company in Vegas.
- 8:33There's not too many companies where like they, they really
- 8:39care about the quality of work that's being delivered.
- 8:42And that's all I care about, right?
- 8:44That's all I care about. And people fucking fall over
- 8:49backwards for themselves, the book with us.
- 8:51So for us the book moves is no problem at all, even though I'm
- 8:55running 5 now. So last February to this
- 9:00February, we're up 300%. 300% congratulations.
- 9:04With three trucks last February we did 83,000.
- 9:08This February we're at 233,900 with three trucks.
- 9:17Wow, so I want to go. Ahead because people, people
- 9:21care about quality of service over burn.
- 9:24In turn, I don't care what anybody says.
- 9:27People just want to move their stuff.
- 9:28It doesn't matter if their stuff, they bought them in 1990,
- 9:32they bought it. They want that good service.
- 9:36I wanna go. I want to ask for something to
- 9:38let Chris ask that because he looks like he's curious about
- 9:40something. No, you're good, alright.
- 9:43I got something you. Can you talk a little bit about
- 9:46what your role was a year ago at your moving company and what
- 9:50you've done to get to this spot this year?
- 9:52What is A day in the life of Vincent like right now at your
- 9:55service? Are.
- 9:56You an estimate, I know the answer, but you are you doing
- 9:59estimates? Are you doing operations?
- 10:00You doing a little bit of. Both a year ago I was doing
- 10:04everything I recently. Brought anything and everything.
- 10:07Right. Any and everything.
- 10:09About a year ago I brought in my sister-in-law.
- 10:11She used to be one of three HR Directors of TripAdvisor in the
- 10:16world and she retired and then she was gone for about 2-3
- 10:23years. She wanted to go back to work,
- 10:26but she didn't wanna go corporate.
- 10:28So 2024 December she asked me if I had anything open and I was
- 10:33like well I could make you office slash HR.
- 10:36You saw talent was like, we can make it work.
- 10:38We'll figure. It out we went from.
- 10:40Talent and care. A lot of people that, you know,
- 10:45like kind of the average burning turn employee to employees that
- 10:51like have their own houses have their own.
- 10:53Cars setting goals. And she just transformed
- 10:56everything. So now I do a lot of our our
- 10:59high-end sales, but our biggest I, I'll give it to my sister and
- 11:05I like the way that she handles the guys and the crews and
- 11:09hiring is just, I even couldn't even imagine business without
- 11:13her. When you're configuring and
- 11:15setting up smart moving, it triggers all kinds, oh, we could
- 11:21do this or we could do that. We may not have ever thought
- 11:25about those options, but smarter they compels you to think about
- 11:30it while you're going through the setup and configuration
- 11:33process and onboarding process of adopting the program into
- 11:37your business. And that's really cool.
- 11:39That's super powerful because you're leveraging the experience
- 11:42of smart moving funds, research the moving industry to create
- 11:45this incredible tool while you're just moving like a four
- 11:49man operation and getting started in the moving business.
- 11:53But now you've got this wealth of information comes just by
- 11:56default because you purchased the program.
- 11:58That's the whole idea. We build stuff with movers by
- 12:02our side, not just in mind. Hey everyone, Maddie Mailers
- 12:13here, the guy who pioneered handwritten letters for the
- 12:15moving industry. Why?
- 12:17Because my competition at my moving company was using the
- 12:20same stock postcards as me and my mailing company didn't care.
- 12:24So I created a better way. Here's some mind blowing
- 12:27results. In July, Miracle Movers Utah
- 12:30closed $93,000 using our handwritten letter strategy.
- 12:35With our campaigns, you can forget about the guessing games.
- 12:38You get a trackable phone number, daily photo proof and
- 12:41incredible design team. And I'm also included.
- 12:44All letters stop at me for approval before they ever leave
- 12:48our facility. Right now, modified listeners
- 12:50get 1000 golden tickets stuffed in our genuine handwritten
- 12:53letters completely free. Plus I'm going to throw in bulk
- 12:57realtor data for up to five counties.
- 12:59What are you waiting for? Moving letters?
- 13:01AI stop competing, start dominating.
- 13:08What's her name? Brooke.
- 13:10Brooke, let's look at Brooke and tell her thank you.
- 13:12Thank you. I called her today and was like,
- 13:16thank you so much, bro. She's like, I got you.
- 13:18We need like four more employees right now.
- 13:20We're so slim. We're bro, we're slammed.
- 13:24Chris, you got me curious questions.
- 13:27Chris Knowles because. Chris knows one of the reasons
- 13:30that I came here was Steven Reed.
- 13:32Thank you. Tennessee Boys.
- 13:34Chris, I told you the other day, you're one of the reasons, cause
- 13:36I wanted to pick his brain. Your brain.
- 13:38Larry and the Tennessee boys is what?
- 13:40They call shafted every single. Time.
- 13:42It's because the hockey game. You're Canadian bro, you're.
- 13:47Canadian hard How hard it is to get into Las Vegas compared to
- 13:52most markets? Good question.
- 13:54Oh my God, that's a great question.
- 13:56So in Las Vegas, you got to get licensed through the Nevada
- 14:01Transportation Authority and to get licensed through them.
- 14:08Oh, that's it's, it's so many steps.
- 14:10So you got to so so if you want to be licensed in Vegas, let's
- 14:16say you want to start with three trucks.
- 14:19To start with three trucks, you gotta submit your tariff and how
- 14:25you price the Nevada Transportation Authority exactly
- 14:29your price. But they also want to know how
- 14:32much fuel each truck is going to take for the first two years.
- 14:37They also want to know what's the payroll for each truck for
- 14:41two years. They also want to know how much
- 14:44revenue each truck is going to bring in for the first two
- 14:47years. And then so let's say you put
- 14:49your license in for, let's say for three trucks.
- 14:54What they do is they're like, OK, three trucks, this is what
- 14:58you say your expenses are gonna be warehouse, everything
- 15:01included. Well, we want to see that dollar
- 15:05amount in your bank account as if you brought in no revenue for
- 15:09six months. So if it's three trucks X
- 15:14revenue for everything for six months in your bank account.
- 15:18So if you wanted to start with 10 you can, but you better have
- 15:211,000,005 in your bank. Account so they're making sure
- 15:24you can run a legit. Business that brings in no
- 15:26revenue just to pay for expenses.
- 15:30And they're making sure you're legit.
- 15:31You have a plan. 100% and then if you're not legit they have a
- 15:36task force which I might be friends.
- 15:40With, yeah, there you go. I might or might not.
- 15:45The market is so tight though that I think you mentioned
- 15:47yesterday that like they they have to submit it and the other
- 15:51moving company owners can come and have to approve that we can,
- 15:55we can take another. Move.
- 15:57So that's what we. Doing this.
- 16:00So so so so let's say big league movers is like I want to get my
- 16:04license in Las Vegas. Cool.
- 16:06You go to the process. Well, when you have your board
- 16:09hearing after you've submitted all the proper paperwork, which
- 16:12is like that thick, they sent a letter out to all the movie
- 16:17company owners. And I'm coming.
- 16:19And they're like, that's why the league movers wants to get
- 16:22licensed in Las. Vegas events, it's like.
- 16:26You gotta, you gotta, you gotta go to the board hearing to get
- 16:30approved. While me, I'm not going to name
- 16:33the owners names, but me and you know, all the other owners, we
- 16:38were good friends and over like I do, we want this guy.
- 16:42We can go to the board hearing and they'll be like, does anyone
- 16:45object? There's like 10 people, a
- 16:47deputy. Tossing his hand up.
- 16:51Start talking so they setting the phone off.
- 16:53Don't like this Maui? Moving.
- 16:54Company and dreaming. He owes me $15 and.
- 16:59The 9th 1 island. He actually sang.
- 17:01He actually owes me $15.00 for a check.
- 17:03Is it? Was it was $12.00 in change?
- 17:07Anyway, so so we could show up and then nobody, this is like.
- 17:11This is my time, James. Watch out.
- 17:13They'll be like, does anyone object?
- 17:15And then we could sign our names on the paperwork and then be
- 17:18like, alright, Vincent muscle movers.
- 17:20Alright, Tom 777 alright, Moisha, you know, champions and
- 17:25we can go open object and we could be like, Oh yeah, they're
- 17:29they're gonna they're gonna mess with the competition right now.
- 17:32We have good competition this and they'll take into
- 17:34consideration to approve his license.
- 17:37That's wild. So, so when we hear this all and
- 17:41for those that are watching, listening, Chris, we both love
- 17:45acquisitions. You go, I kind of want to get
- 17:49into the better market. You're hearing a story of
- 17:51something like Vincents and knowing the struggle of
- 17:55everything that you have to go through to try and get this
- 17:57through. Do you think when you're looking
- 17:59at his numbers that would play still a huge factor in what the
- 18:04price point of when he wants to sell his company and exit out
- 18:07that you're looking at? Because you know, man, it's
- 18:10going to be very hard to get into Nevada.
- 18:11Definitely. I feel like it would hold its
- 18:13value above other markets for sure.
- 18:15Just being able to the the time that it takes, the cost it takes
- 18:19just to penetrate or enter the market, I mean that could save
- 18:22six months, you know, sure. So I feel like when you get
- 18:25ready to sell, how many 18 one. 18 minimum.
- 18:28Wow so I mean Nashville, TN or in general is just like the Wild
- 18:32West. You go start moving people like.
- 18:35OHD West. Yeah.
- 18:37Wow. When you hear.
- 18:39This signal so if if let's say Chris Knowles was like, I want
- 18:43to buy your company. Is this happening right here?
- 18:48He has to still go through the approval.
- 18:51So even though he goes ahead and says, hey Vincent, you know
- 18:54what? I love your set up.
- 18:57Ownership change. They'll they'll run a background
- 18:59check on them. He has to then apply all of his
- 19:02name and branding and DBA to my license and revamp my license,
- 19:08which is about this thing. If I had a picture, I'll show
- 19:11you guys and then he would still have to go through the.
- 19:14Process even if he was going to keep your name. 100% because now
- 19:18he's the owner so he has to go through approval.
- 19:22So if you're if if you have. What are the benefits though,
- 19:26like for where you're at? What are the benefits for those
- 19:29that are listening to this and watching going?
- 19:31Which camera do I need to look at?
- 19:34Red light. Red light, Red light.
- 19:37What the advantage is because so I thought about opening a
- 19:41location in Miami. When I looked it up there was
- 19:43like 4000 registered movers. Cheez.
- 19:47And in Las Vegas, there's 2.5 million people.
- 19:51There's license because just because.
- 19:53You Clark County, right? Clark County.
- 19:55Yeah, just because you submitted application doesn't mean they
- 19:58accept you either. So keep that in mind.
- 20:02Sure, there it's very stringent. You gotta go through their.
- 20:05Financial are you are you saving anything like I mean the state
- 20:08of. Nevada let me, let me finish so.
- 20:11Just cannot finish. Submit your license doesn't mean
- 20:13you gotta prove so entity TA tracks.
- 20:18They track competition. Not only competition but
- 20:22compliance. So if there's too much
- 20:24competition they won't even approve you.
- 20:25They'll be like, oh, try again in 2-3 years.
- 20:28So the advantage of being in Las Vegas is, correct me if I'm
- 20:34wrong, but I think there's about 15 legit license movers for 2.5
- 20:40million people. Wow.
- 20:43So you as owners, you tell me if that's an advantage.
- 20:48Yeah. And then also, let's say you
- 20:50come in at Salmon. Somewhere and.
- 20:52Start running illegally I call I'm not going to say his name
- 20:57but let's say I call my guy at NTA and I'm like a here his
- 21:00trucks are here they'll park where you're you park your
- 21:04trucks they'll follow you the job site and if you try to do an
- 21:08illegal. Move going to bust.
- 21:09You they'll take your truck. You can't buy it back.
- 21:14There was some range to. Go rare because it seems like
- 21:17all these states they start with, that's the thing they
- 21:20start with. The goal was to fight rogue
- 21:23movers and it turns into department cuts after
- 21:26department. Cuts.
- 21:28And they're just going to people that are going.
- 21:30To show you text right? Now that's that's rare.
- 21:32It's like what's? Supposed to happen.
- 21:35Like, hey, whenever you have any of the other illegal movers, let
- 21:38me know. We'll pursue them.
- 21:39I could show you. His name is Diego.
- 21:42See to me, so I would I would hit it on 2 spots if I was
- 21:47looking at it going OK, here's the moving coming Nevada.
- 21:51They've went through the loopholes, they've they've done
- 21:53all the whole process, 18 months through it.
- 21:56You assume there's loopholes. It sounds pretty.
- 21:58Sounds pretty solid. I don't know how many loopholes
- 22:00are there to get through it. Months, right?
- 22:0415 months of. Looping it took me 10 months,
- 22:06but the the lady who did my file, she said you're the
- 22:11fastest applicant. To you, OK, but let's let's hold
- 22:14on. But I've seen, let's see,
- 22:15realistic. She said.
- 22:17You're the fastest applicant that I've seen in the 12 years
- 22:20I've been here. Normally it's 18 months, right?
- 22:23And I did it in 10, so let's. Say so, but.
- 22:26That's what she told. Me right, but I'm trying to I'm
- 22:29trying to give the break. What's her name?
- 22:33Why do you always how? Do you know what I mean?
- 22:35I just, I mean, it's a question. It's a horrible he knows.
- 22:40This guy wants to shout out everybody.
- 22:42People deserve a shout out. Me.
- 22:43He's like, wait, hold on. Wait, this guy?
- 22:45Hey, whoa, Vincent, this. Guy I gotta.
- 22:47Call this guy never wants to expand.
- 22:49Me and Chris go alright, we like your business.
- 22:52We're we're interested you got 5 trucks running while your
- 22:55business you're successful. Well, last year we had.
- 22:59Is this your phone? Turn on silent.
- 23:02Figure it out. Geez, again, you know you're on
- 23:06the. Podcast Oh hey, can we play when
- 23:09we start this episode? Can we play the arm wrestling
- 23:12match? No.
- 23:14Play the left, he said. No.
- 23:18No, no. The left one on there.
- 23:22You go dude, I I can't do this anymore.
- 23:24I changed the subject. Quick, I got I got 5 trucks.
- 23:29Let's say I'm a million and a half.
- 23:32I I got a million and a half with three.
- 23:34Yeah, OK. But what do you got for right
- 23:36now? I, I, I I'm running four solid
- 23:39and I'm, I'm today's five, Yeah. Ready for 2025?
- 23:451.5 Almost one point. It's 1 1/2.
- 23:48So let's take one and a half million, right?
- 23:50So you doing one and a half million, Chris, are you paying
- 23:52attention? One and a half million, five
- 23:54trucks. You're you're in Nevada.
- 23:56Runs a tight. Ship Chris goes, I'm interested
- 23:58in buying his business. It's clean, there's no issues,
- 24:01there's no nothing, right? It's going to be an asset cell.
- 24:03You're not. To me, it would be very
- 24:06interesting because you almost, you don't really have to take
- 24:08the LC over because you're going to have to go through the
- 24:12process yourself to open up this location.
- 24:16No matter what. It's going to be an interesting
- 24:19factor of what I would value your company at because it's
- 24:26still a massive risk. Am I going to get approved or
- 24:29not? I wonder what it's like if you
- 24:30added a partner instead? So OK, let me.
- 24:35Exit. Out.
- 24:35So let me let me clarify something.
- 24:37So if you're going to do an asset by and in Nevada, it's a
- 24:40more expedited process. It's not a, it's not astringent
- 24:45really what they wanna know are you, are you as the owner
- 24:50compliant to run the company is really what they want to know.
- 24:54It's probably more of a three six month turnaround instead of
- 24:58an 18 month because the the company's already established.
- 25:02That's right. So really what they want to
- 25:04verify, all they want to verify is the owner, which is pretty a
- 25:10quick turn around. So they do, they do board
- 25:12meetings once a month. But like, let's say you do it,
- 25:17you know, look like right now, right?
- 25:20Like this month today wouldn't be in time for March.
- 25:25So then you would be April. So it it's like a 2 three month
- 25:30and then depending maybe if you have a sketchy back, I'm saying
- 25:32you would. But if you do they would want
- 25:35more information and then they could go to like 6 months.
- 25:39We are he's he's as clean as it. Comes.
- 25:41I mean, he owes me 15. Dollars 400.
- 25:44But we're not. We're gonna move over to James.
- 25:48He does owe me $15. From the chat you're talking
- 25:50about. That I mailed them.
- 25:52I don't think I can go back to Vegas, actually.
- 25:55Flamingo. Long story.
- 26:00I got walked out. Of the you know what though, I
- 26:02love Vegas, man, I love. Them for sure. 21.
- 26:05You know what it is though? I love Vegas.
- 26:07I love Vegas people, they're from everywhere.
- 26:10They're from they're from Germany, they're from Canada,
- 26:12they're from everywhere. Like the biggest market is so
- 26:16unique because no ones like local.
- 26:20Everyone is from everywhere. And I, I always tell people like
- 26:26my Achilles heel is I do sales, I do all of our high end sales.
- 26:31But my hard part is like leaving that because I love the people
- 26:35that I meet, bro. So do I love the people?
- 26:38So we're going, let's do one more question and let's roll
- 26:41over to the other. Towards us, ready to roll.
- 26:43Over. Well, I got one more question,
- 26:47just share, just share, share. So 2026 you got some big goals.
- 26:54You're starting to get there, getting excited.
- 26:55It's looking like a good year for you.
- 26:57What are some things you're doing different this year to hit
- 26:59those goals besides great operational service?
- 27:05Already knows the answer. He does it all the time.
- 27:07He doesn't. Know he does.
- 27:09It's not bragging if it's true. That's right.
- 27:11I mean, it's true. So I hired a a ready role
- 27:15executive assistant. Did you?
- 27:17That's right. That's right.
- 27:18Ready rolls. Dot com.
- 27:22Activator my data. Door.
- 27:25You ready? Rolls his own.
- 27:28He went on his own about 2-3 weeks ago after onboarding.
- 27:33We've had nine on sites, which is equal to 43,000 in revenue.
- 27:39How much have you paid? Not even $1000 yet for that
- 27:42ready roll. Well, after today, it's probably
- 27:46been 1000. But thousand for the month.
- 27:48I mean, the hands down, it's the best ROI that I have, yeah, for
- 27:52this month. And this, what else are you
- 27:53doing? Not just the plug
- 27:55readyrolls.com, what else are you doing?
- 27:59That's some new things. Are you doing anything with
- 28:01data? Anything different?
- 28:04Cards I open up multiple locations so I have a Henderson.
- 28:07Location location. Location with rotate digital and
- 28:12I'm doing I'm just doing a lot more investing, you know, like
- 28:15I, I there's a lot. So Vegas is notorious for
- 28:20companies who've been there for for forever and they do the same
- 28:25thing because the get a license is hard.
- 28:30So these companies who've been licensed, been licensed for
- 28:33forever and they do the same. Then they're they're just
- 28:35thinking like this. Let's put it this way, the most
- 28:37high end moving company in Los Hypo.
- 28:39We shouldn't say this, but I'm gonna do it anyway.
- 28:41The most high end moving company in Las Vegas is feeling our pain
- 28:46because I go after very high end clientele and I know for a fact
- 28:52we've been taking a bunch of their business because I know
- 28:55people who've they've mentioned it too, because we're doing a
- 28:59lot more new things that they're not doing.
- 29:02I detail. Even though that I don't wanna
- 29:04put their name out there cause I do like the guy.
- 29:06He's a good dude, he's a good owner, but I'm coming for him
- 29:10and I'm taking his market share and I don't give a fuck.
- 29:14If you're considering snowball, just do it.
- 29:17Snowfall creates stunned for you referral programs for moving
- 29:21companies so you can turn happy customers into new revenue
- 29:24without lifting a finger. And the results speak for
- 29:26themselves. In less than a year, we've
- 29:28collected over 2000 referrals. We generated over $200,000 of
- 29:33revenue that cost about 5, $1000 to do it.
- 29:36I believe we have four or five the very first day.
- 29:39The companies winning with Snowball are the ones that
- 29:42already care about their customers.
- 29:44We just help turn that into new business through human outreach
- 29:48and customer nurturing. Snowball.
- 29:51Is are the arsenal of tools that I recommend to my clients
- 29:55because it works. Being found on the second page
- 29:59of Google is literally like having a billboard in the middle
- 30:03of the desert. Yo, momma ain't gonna see it.
- 30:05No one's gonna see it. You're on the second page of
- 30:08Google. No one's gonna call.
- 30:09No one's gonna book. Here is the deal.
- 30:12If your business is not ranking on the top of Google, that means
- 30:15your competitors are going to be stealing your customers every
- 30:19single day. So I rotate digital.
- 30:22We don't play any guessing games.
- 30:23We use data-driven SEO strategies to make sure Google
- 30:26finds you first so that these Google searches turn into your
- 30:31customers, not your competitors customers.
- 30:33How do we do it? We do it through AI driven
- 30:36keyword optimization, exclusive blog networks, backlinking
- 30:39strategies and honestly the secret self, the proprietary
- 30:43lead attribution software. So what do you get as a result?
- 30:46You get not only good marketing, but now you get clarity into
- 30:50what is bringing you more revenue.
- 30:52So if that's something you want to do, you want to make sure
- 30:55your beads finds you and not your competition, go ahead and
- 30:58go to rotate digital.com, schedule a call, and we'll help
- 31:02you take your business to the top of Google.
- 31:07Vincent. Vincent.
- 31:08This is some Vegas shit right here.
- 31:10He doesn't. Wars.
- 31:11The Hammers. And Nails taking it over.
- 31:13There's only one company that's known for.
- 31:15High-end, yeah. And I'll go and estimates and
- 31:18they're like, Oh yeah, he's coming tomorrow.
- 31:21And then I close them one on there, there you.
- 31:23And I know because he's mentioned something to people
- 31:26that I know, like, why does he do so well and we're not.
- 31:29And you're out there selling as the owner, is he selling, is he
- 31:32the one going to the houses or is he got sales reps?
- 31:35Because he has like 15 trucks and 50,000 square foot
- 31:38warehouse. Yeah, but he loves the sales
- 31:40too. Kind of like you, you love to
- 31:43say. So if you think of his company,
- 31:46you think of Vegas. I almost said his name.
- 31:50You think of him. Yeah.
- 31:51And so he still does a lot of the sales and I'm coming for his
- 31:55knack. Alright, well, you hear that?
- 31:57Voice. I like it.
- 32:00So, so Vincent, you, you flip the script and you go.
- 32:03We, we actually were really lucky and he used to work for
- 32:06him. Well, there you go.
- 32:08He wants to say it, Don't say it, don't say it, don't say.
- 32:11Fuck. It's it's, it's genetic.
- 32:14But listen, we were, we were really, we were lucky and
- 32:16blessed to have Gabe from his moving company on their show.
- 32:20Look back but a couple months. Ago a different.
- 32:23Island on a different island. Oahu running and moving company.
- 32:28Him and his sister running company in Huhu.
- 32:33Monday, though no competition. And.
- 32:38See what? It's a Move on Monday episode.
- 32:40He's. Referencing it was a move.
- 32:45That's. Right.
- 32:46There's no competition with my monies and.
- 32:48When this is the Wednesday, how are?
- 32:49Gonna start the Monday 1 and we're coming for your neck.
- 32:51I'll tell everybody. They got me in the fields on
- 32:55competition. I love it.
- 32:56Right, It doesn't. He doesn't even need to do
- 32:58anything. He texts me all the time.
- 33:00He's like, I'll move by Wednesday's, got a couple more
- 33:02views and move it Mondays. It's something to watch.
- 33:05There's a moving fight Monday. They.
- 33:08Start. For your neck, don't you start?
- 33:13This was on another travel place that everybody wants to go,
- 33:16maybe. Wants to go.
- 33:17Everybody wants to go to Oahu. Everybody wants to go to Hawaii,
- 33:19everybody wants to go to Maui. It's, it's one of the places
- 33:22that you, you want to take your partner, you want to go with
- 33:25your family. I mean, now he's such a
- 33:27beautiful, majestic, tropical place to go to.
- 33:32And so how did they end up getting the James over there?
- 33:37Because, you know, the reality is and it's kind of what I.
- 33:39Believe is the guy. On you.
- 33:42But listen, you were on a very small scope.
- 33:45You're on an island. You, you were segregated with
- 33:48kind of what's coming in, what's going out.
- 33:50Me and James have talked multiple times over the last
- 33:52year. The fact that, you know, you
- 33:55almost have to pivot and kind of go into a lot of people are
- 33:58coming inbound through containers, a lot of people
- 34:01going outbound through containers.
- 34:03The only way aside from air freight.
- 34:04So it's a little bit different. Because you going to get it over
- 34:07there, going to teleport it, throw it by rail.
- 34:09Well, that's it. You can't rely on local news.
- 34:11Everything else. So rail right over the.
- 34:14Pacific, James. Didn't.
- 34:15Appreciate you coming in here. Vincent kind of stole the show
- 34:18in the beginning. I really want you to close.
- 34:19Out the show you need to go strong because he represented
- 34:22Vegas heart he went for the. Full Vegas.
- 34:26Special shout out to game. We have we have Vegas as family
- 34:29cause we call it the ninth Hawaiian island.
- 34:31Bro. Nice.
- 34:32You know, Seriously. Yeah, do you guys both saw spam
- 34:35as I was? Tons of business together.
- 34:37I didn't even know it was him. Just knew like 4 hours ago.
- 34:40So hey, and he's like he's like good enough there 15 bucks I had
- 34:45I had a cause. Sometimes I have customers and
- 34:47they, and they are animate about not paying cause I, I take,
- 34:52they're animate about they, they want to pay like at destination,
- 34:56which makes it particularly hard, right when I'm doing
- 34:58logistics. And so we used multiple times
- 35:04before great rapport. But we call him up and he's
- 35:08like, yeah, I'll, I'll, I'll handle that, that cashier's
- 35:11check. So she was kind of like a Karen,
- 35:13you know, so we wanted to kind of be on top of it.
- 35:15Move was fine. He did a great job.
- 35:18So container work, you work with a lot of moving companies, you
- 35:20speak to a lot of guys out here and set up a unload for what
- 35:23you're sending. Yeah, we have an SOP.
- 35:25So basically. Stop before you go too deep.
- 35:29Sure. Tell me how you started.
- 35:31What made you want to start coming to Hawaii?
- 35:34One question at a. Time.
- 35:35How do you end up in there? Let's go start with how you
- 35:38ended up in Hawaii. Alright, so I was born and
- 35:40raised in New York. New York City.
- 35:42No Westchester. Westchester New.
- 35:45York sorry, is that? What was that?
- 35:47What was that? You get off the train at
- 35:49Peekskill. Salsa commercial.
- 35:50And then you start heading towards Yorktown Heights and I'm
- 35:53like right in between small town like.
- 35:57Beauty or how did you end up over there?
- 35:59Well, my life was kind of falling apart, OK.
- 36:07No worries, no judgment here. Existential crisis?
- 36:10How we end up in the movie industry.
- 36:13Notice it's pretty consistent. You know, it was nice.
- 36:18Falling apart. One point when you started.
- 36:22Now this is the the. Rebuild.
- 36:23Well, it's nice because what's nice about the moving business
- 36:26is the easy barrier to entry. Like, except for Vegas
- 36:29apparently, you know, but which is kind of interesting and nice,
- 36:32especially as, you know, coming in in a market like that, it's
- 36:36like a higher barrier to entry, you know, which is, which is
- 36:38nice if you're established. Right.
- 36:40But to me, I mean, I've been, I grew up going to Oahu all the
- 36:44time. And I think of the fact that you
- 36:46were on a small island and I and it's not to me.
- 36:51I guess it's a sense of challenging yourself, but you
- 36:53you end up on Maui and going. I thought Hawaii was 1 island
- 36:58before I moved over there. They were like, there's a Yahoo,
- 37:02there's the Big Island, there's Maui, there's Kawhi.
- 37:04I'm like, there's the what? The Big Island?
- 37:06You're like, yeah, like what? Like I was, I was shocked that
- 37:10they literally call it the Big Island.
- 37:12It was a super confused, but they're like, yeah, that's
- 37:15Hawaii. You know, I thought Hawaii was
- 37:16like 1 island. You know, I was just 20 years
- 37:18old and I just wanted to go somewhere that was real nice.
- 37:23But that was still in America, you know?
- 37:25No job, no girlfriend, no college, no nothing, right?
- 37:27Just figure it out. 20 years. Old figure it out, yeah.
- 37:30And then you have this apparently got, you know, you're
- 37:35making phone calls. What's up?
- 37:38What's up? Yeah, we got, we got.
- 37:43We have California in the house. He's he's coming to comment
- 37:48commandeer some some vape, fucking some vape and we just
- 37:52checked the vape out. Gotta ask what?
- 37:53He's gonna be scrambling for it. He's a fiend.
- 37:55When the question are you? It broke in half so.
- 37:58Now are you guys if he would have said no when I was trying
- 38:02to fix the action like what was? He's bombed.
- 38:04Either way, I need the pin. So the reference, I don't know
- 38:08if you mentioned you probably did, but we're in a 28,000
- 38:11square foot awesome mansion. Yeah, we just got this sick like
- 38:15I just. I'm finding new places in the
- 38:17house. It's just like, it's awesome.
- 38:19So you're, you're, you're just going.
- 38:20I'm going to, I'm going to one of the islands.
- 38:22I'm going to Hawaii. It's beautiful.
- 38:24I know you're good things. I don't know anybody.
- 38:26I had friends that went to Florida.
- 38:29I had friends that went to South Southern California, but I
- 38:33wanted to be unique and special, you know, something new.
- 38:36And then so I went to. I mean like spam we talked about
- 38:39and he liked spam calling around me.
- 38:40It helped. Places for rent and like you
- 38:45know everybody was was an asshole except for this one guy
- 38:48Bill Combest was his name should Bill shout out to Bill love you
- 38:53Bill look. At the camera, don't.
- 38:54Tell me how to write a check. You tell me how to write a
- 38:56check. Nice.
- 38:57Yeah, and he's like, yeah, we gotta, we gotta bed.
- 39:02You know, there's like 8 dudes in the house.
- 39:04You sharing a A room with a dude.
- 39:06It's like 500 bucks a month. He's like, I'll take you to the
- 39:08human resources, whatever place. Voyage change 500 bucks a.
- 39:12Month and change over there and he's like we'll get you BT and
- 39:16my friend owns a moped company. What year is this?
- 39:192013 we'll get you a a moped is like there's a deli, you know
- 39:26Mama's ribs and rotisserie. Shout out to Mama's ribs and
- 39:28rotisserie. The one in Kihei.
- 39:30It's not no longer there. God bless it.
- 39:32Really good ribs. Miss it.
- 39:34That's good. They still got to location line
- 39:37and or was I 500. It's like alright worst case
- 39:43scenario be homeless on the beach in Hawaii.
- 39:45That's not bad. And and and you know, I got the
- 39:49ice in my back pocket. My momma loves me a lot so I
- 39:52knew she would buy me to get home if it was real bad.
- 39:55But as long as I kept my nose out of trouble, nice.
- 39:57Which you know. Before you got to the island you
- 40:00you were setting that. You had a backup.
- 40:04Where do I go back home? Well, assume it was a good
- 40:07assumption. I'd say it was pretty safe.
- 40:09Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 40:10So what got you into moving though?
- 40:13Some shares, let's say what time shares Oh.
- 40:19We got to talk about. Time shares or timeshares.
- 40:21Oh wait, no, this is same thing. No, I'm kidding.
- 40:24No, there's some good there's no, there's some good.
- 40:26There's, you know, have one of the best memories as a child and
- 40:30timeshares, my best friends. This is San Diego chicken base.
- 40:35He's got the script tonight and we would go to timeshare where
- 40:40kids was actually a lot of fun. Enjoy timeshare so still have
- 40:44time. Training Speaking for the
- 40:47timeshare. I I had a friend, Willie.
- 40:50Trying to tell us the time sure right now.
- 40:52Actually, well, first you gotta I'm going to give you free gift
- 40:55and just 90 minutes of your time. 150 bucks cat.
- 40:59Chris sold Chris is soul. He's signed me up.
- 41:02I wanna type. Oht no, you bought it.
- 41:04You a liar. Tourist say no, he half off a
- 41:10trip. You know, no, he bought.
- 41:12No, I haven't bought. They're hard sells though.
- 41:15There's so much fun. He's gonna do it.
- 41:19Of course, yeah. And then you look stupid when
- 41:21you don't buy it, right? Yeah.
- 41:22You look stupid when you don't buy it.
- 41:23You're just like, it's it's great.
- 41:28It's fucking. Beautiful, but so you're leaving
- 41:30on. Time, Jerry.
- 41:31Yeah, leading up to so I was, you know, exploring, having a
- 41:34job, you know, and having multiple jobs.
- 41:37I was like, damn, I suck at landscaping.
- 41:39I was so happy when I got fired and I like almost cried, OK, I
- 41:42was so happy. And then, you know, I was
- 41:45working at Mama's ribs on Tisserie.
- 41:46He's like, sell the ribs. I sold all the ribs, you know,
- 41:49because they're really good ribs, you know, And then, so
- 41:52then I worked at GNC and, and then I learning, oh, you can
- 41:55make a Commission. So I'm like, I'm scanning.
- 41:57I scan all of the items in the store, every single item to see
- 42:00how much Commission they would give me in this one thing, $6 a
- 42:03box that was blown away. They'd pay me 6 bucks to sell an
- 42:08item. So it was like my first concept
- 42:10of Commission. So I sold all the boxes and I
- 42:14sold everything as much as I could, obviously.
- 42:17Yeah, it's a great job, OK. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:23So me and my friend, he came out there too about 90.
- 42:26Days under those commissions. The guy in Memphis, he would.
- 42:29Just they're not commissioned anymore.
- 42:30I ask. I love going in there and
- 42:32asking. But we, so my friend moves out
- 42:36there too and he's in GNC with me and we're studying Jordan
- 42:39Belfort. You know sales, right?
- 42:41Straight line persuasion is great.
- 42:43Learned about tonality and all that stuff.
- 42:46Gosh, yeah. And then?
- 42:50Then you're learning this for GNC sales.
- 42:52Oh yeah, and then and then. Get the powder.
- 42:55Get the powder and then I did the best I could.
- 42:59Do the best. This is a Vegas.
- 43:01This. I'm a vegan.
- 43:06And. The hours.
- 43:07Move fast. Yeah, bring me on the move side,
- 43:09man. So Fast forward.
- 43:13Should have never. My, my friend, my friend gets me
- 43:17into marketing timeshare. So I'm, I'm booking timeshare
- 43:19tours. I finally figure out, I mean,
- 43:22I'm always consistent #3 and then I finally figured it out
- 43:26after a year how to do it correctly.
- 43:29But by that time I finally got my real estate license after I
- 43:32think the 13th try because I failed the test.
- 43:35The charms. Yeah, I had to learn how to take
- 43:37tests. Real bad at taking tests.
- 43:39So I had to study how to study, to take tests.
- 43:42And like, I had to study, I'm sorry, how to take a test
- 43:45because I would always get stuck and I would just like blow it,
- 43:48right? So my reading comprehensions
- 43:51were bad, but it got a lot better.
- 43:53It's pretty damn good. Tad bit better.
- 43:56But my second book when I was 20 years.
- 43:58Old So where where where did you get 2?
- 44:00Getting into moving. You're still there.
- 44:04So in the timeshare, so. Went from I went from marketing.
- 44:07To sales. I didn't like the way the sales
- 44:10were. I felt like it was a dishonest,
- 44:13at least for the company that I was with.
- 44:16Company that I think no longer exists and it's time for an
- 44:19honest service, you know, and that's how the moving came
- 44:24around. It's like it's an honest
- 44:26service. It's like Labour, right?
- 44:28Well, we, we are now at a point where unfortunately for you 2,
- 44:32we're at Dolly Dash. So Dolly Dash, Dolly Dash 8 also
- 44:39brought to you by bhca.com with Trey Scallion.
- 44:44Yeah, what up? Make sure you reach out to Trey
- 44:47and get the modified strategy for your insurance.
- 44:51The biggest obstacle that we ever fall into is how do we pull
- 44:56these levers in our businesses when it comes down to insurance
- 45:00renewals? Well, make sure you contact
- 45:02Trey. Always a challenge.
- 45:03And ask him about the Move FIDE strategy to save on insurance.
- 45:09We are about to hit with you with the Dolly Dash.
- 45:12You got 5 questions. Between one minute to.
- 45:14Answer. You have less than a minute to
- 45:16answer it and you guys ready. Yeah, we'll go, We'll go 123.
- 45:23That's a good. Question.
- 45:24Let's do 6. We can pop them back.
- 45:27Cool go. We're talking.
- 45:30I mean, you go ahead, you go. I'm not the Dolly Dash guy.
- 45:34What is that you told? Me.
- 45:36You got a big queue like that I. Can ask question, James, what's
- 45:40the biggest obstacle that you found being on a island, having
- 45:45a moving company? Resources and bad belief system.
- 45:54Bad belief system or beliefs? Yeah, beliefs.
- 45:57Yeah, like like limiting my limiting.
- 45:59I'm like, oh, I'm on an island, there's only 150,000 people.
- 46:01There's not enough moves. Chris, are you making any
- 46:05investments for this next year and anything outside of moving?
- 46:11The biggest investment I'm working on right now, I'm
- 46:13actually doing an addition to my next home, which would kind of
- 46:17be set up like a event space. So I've got some inspiration
- 46:22from actually this this space right here.
- 46:24So it'll be on the lake. And leave it.
- 46:26He's inspired by moving Wednesdays.
- 46:28Of. Course, that's probably the
- 46:29biggest and most exciting thing I'm working on.
- 46:31I mean, being able to accommodate having my own
- 46:33events. Of course, it'll be, you know,
- 46:36help cover the cost of a of a larger mortgage, but setting it
- 46:40up with a Nashville destination on the lake, you know, you have,
- 46:44you know, different excursions, activities, of course, and help
- 46:47cover the cost of that. And what better way to just be
- 46:50more of an authority in Nashville than invite Realtors,
- 46:53industry professionals, moving company retreats, maybe, Who
- 46:56knows, you know? So I'm excited about that.
- 46:59Vincent, what trucks are you riding trucks to the fleet this
- 47:02year? What what are you playing?
- 47:03Are you playing on the lease those?
- 47:04Are you planning to buy those or you got a sweet spot for what
- 47:06you're looking for in trucks? I don't believe in leasing
- 47:11trucks, it's a waste of money. That's your feeling.
- 47:14You know, I buy them out, so I bought 3 last year.
- 47:17I bought them all cash. Right.
- 47:18And what do you look for? What type of?
- 47:20Truck used I, I think if you diesel right around 100,000, you
- 47:24know 130 or you know whatever they're brand new.
- 47:28And you go for diesel. Yeah, so I already.
- 47:31Go for gas. Different cities have different
- 47:35things. They got down and.
- 47:36Stuff like. I've had a gas.
- 47:38Truck no. Currently, right now, do you
- 47:40have gas? No, but some people swear by.
- 47:43So my personal favorite. People swear by running gun.
- 47:46My personal favorite is a freight line with a Cummins.
- 47:49Now me too. Sure.
- 47:50Like in Detroit though, I like a Freightliner with.
- 47:52Detroit, too, I don't like. I don't like their.
- 47:55Their, their, their, their the freight lines with the Cummins
- 48:00or international, but I don't like Internet or Freightliners.
- 48:04They're they're what is that called their service?
- 48:09No, the the, the, the front thing that that filters it, that
- 48:14cools it down. Yeah.
- 48:16James, what about you getting the truck?
- 48:18How how scarce is is purchasing a truck on the island?
- 48:23You have to ship it to Maui. I buy them new and that could
- 48:28change, could change. Eleanor is it?
- 48:32Well, yeah, I'm new for 2025. My time they arrive.
- 48:35It's 2026, yeah, basically. So.
- 48:39What's your truck track? I, I buy them new, it's limited
- 48:42resources there and sometimes limited talent.
- 48:45So around the island there's mostly Isuzus.
- 48:47So I was like, OK, there's enough Isuzu mechanics and parks
- 48:51on the island, so. Good truck though.
- 48:53It's a great truck, Yeah, so purchase the.
- 48:57Warranty service. Probably, yeah, because they had
- 49:00something happened and they're like, Oh yeah, well, you'd have
- 49:02to do it over here. Yeah.
- 49:04So I was 2021 when I bought those two.
- 49:08I follow up to that one. New truck too.
- 49:13Got it. Calm down, calm down.
- 49:16Well, yeah, James, when it comes down to Internet expanding your
- 49:21horizon, I almost threw the bill out there.
- 49:24But when it comes to going OK, I mean, this small condensed
- 49:29community, I focus on that community.
- 49:31I built a good, strong brand. I need to think outside the box,
- 49:37especially being on an island. You turn to shipping containers,
- 49:42international shipping, you know, sending everything from
- 49:46the island to the ports across California, up the coast up to
- 49:52Seattle. You 2 both, you know, doing work
- 49:56all the way from Maui to Las Vegas.
- 49:59How has that been such a great blessing and an increase in
- 50:04revenue by turning to that? Then going I'm just going to
- 50:08focus on local. Because you can't survive in a
- 50:11small population density in like 1 lane.
- 50:14So that's also a problem because it creates context switching
- 50:19with standard operating procedures for movers.
- 50:22So then that's why often you will find in remote areas you
- 50:26have poor quality of services, right, Because those that
- 50:30context switching is happens a lot, right, because they have
- 50:34to. Be able to do multiple things,
- 50:36different training program that you're teaching the guys as well
- 50:38too, because now you're doing international wrapping and
- 50:41packing. Small detail changes, yeah, to
- 50:44remain efficient. I mean, I can do the same thing
- 50:46and be inefficient. 60 seconds are up.
- 50:50Go on. You want me to ask Chris one?
- 50:51Now you got Chris one last. One.
- 50:54Is it the last one? Get another one.
- 50:59You've been kiboshed. Go ahead.
- 51:01You've been. It's because of the arm
- 51:03wrestling. It is it good for the arm
- 51:05wrestling that's. What it is, Chris?
- 51:07What was your favorite part of the day at the Legends?
- 51:09Retreat. No resentment.
- 51:11My favorite part was, let's see, I mean, that was my first time
- 51:15here in his speech. That was great.
- 51:17I really. Appreciate Mark did an excellent
- 51:19job. You'd really did a great job on.
- 51:21Let me Larry's culture is second to none, I feel.
- 51:24Like really is going for. Movers to owners 26 times.
- 51:28That's I mean that's something that should be applauded always,
- 51:31you know, so their stories and then of course, just the
- 51:35connections. First time meeting my boy over
- 51:37here from Vegas and now got another plug in Vegas so that's
- 51:39good. Yeah.
- 51:42Hey, you gotta hit. Me up, I will.
- 51:43Could I just? Go ahead, comment.
- 51:45Go ahead. There's a couple reasons I came
- 51:48to this event and I'll just be I'll be 101.
- 51:52It was get more intimate with him, you, you and Larry I.
- 51:57Did you get that from? Trying to like Brown.
- 51:59Note that was a bonus 12. No, no, I'll be.
- 52:04I'll thank you. Thank you for saying.
- 52:05Percent honest. I seen all you guys and I was
- 52:07like, well, I gotta go, right? I wanna because like, I don't
- 52:13remember. I don't remember exactly who
- 52:15said it, but they said we're like, oh, the first guy, Gary,
- 52:18he said relationships the most important.
- 52:20And I knew that before I came here.
- 52:24But like, I do want to get to know, you know, like you guys
- 52:28who are killing it way more than me.
- 52:31I, I knew that. But when I seen his he was the
- 52:33first speaker today and I was like, I knew it because that's
- 52:36why I came because, you know, you go to appreciate that you go
- 52:40to the a lot of the other events and it's just kind of like, ohi
- 52:43gotta speak oht Hey, yeah, you know, Chris or you know, Steve
- 52:46or whatever, you know, nice. Whatever you looked at me and
- 52:49say whatever. No, but you know what I mean?
- 52:53In the armrest, kind of like you move on, you move on.
- 52:56But it's different when you come here because it's like, oh, I
- 52:59heard you alright. We're gonna have dinner
- 53:00together. We're gonna go bowl together.
- 53:03Somewhere to go with this house? That's why I can't actually, I
- 53:07wanted that more personal experience because I know,
- 53:11listen, I'm not know massive moving company, but I do know it
- 53:14is about relationships. You know, I wanna build.
- 53:16See, Vincent and I look at actually.
- 53:18Like we all pay poker together for sure.
- 53:21I wouldn't have done that at Titans.
- 53:23No, I'm not talking shit, I'm just saying I wouldn't have been
- 53:26able to do. That in another thing to
- 53:27mention, we left Poker and Vincent when I were the only
- 53:31ones left. You weren't.
- 53:35You weren't there at the end. You were eliminated.
- 53:37You left. I gave you all my chips.
- 53:40I gave you all my chips. You lost the hand, I think.
- 53:43We're winning bro. Yeah, like so it's a bad day for
- 53:47you. Other than the great speech.
- 53:48Other than the great speech, I've seen you lose arm
- 53:51wrestling. Let's.
- 53:53Say USA. You got closest thing is that
- 53:56you forget to think about the fact that as everybody kept
- 54:00entering the tables, who was the guy giving up all their chips to
- 54:04make sure everybody else could play?
- 54:05It wasn't you. It was your son, Wolf, that was
- 54:10why you taught him well. You taught him well, brother.
- 54:13Alright, I'll give it to Wolf. I kind of want to come back at
- 54:18that, Vincent. Because closeout the Dolly dash
- 54:21first. Well, the Dolly ashes over.
- 54:22Alright, Dolly. Set up tray.
- 54:24What up tray? Hit up trance please, please do.
- 54:27Please do, especially if you have insurance questions.
- 54:29He's he's the GOAT that he's gonna, he's gonna help you out
- 54:32to get a better rate. I look at these great events
- 54:37like the Moving Legends retreat, the Bill to move conferences,
- 54:41the ones that are, you know, under 100, very intimate.
- 54:44You have more time to connect. And I look at it almost at a
- 54:48point where I get a chance to actually have the time to sit
- 54:54down with you, to sit down with James, to sit down with
- 54:57companies that are hustling it, that are make killing it and
- 55:04building a brand where we might have already stepped back as
- 55:09business owners. We go, OK, we built this
- 55:11company. We've done quite well.
- 55:13Light a fire. You know, and, and we light a
- 55:15fire, but we're also learning. Like what are you doing?
- 55:19I'm getting. To know how we grew?
- 55:21No problem, let us teach you. But then it's the flip going,
- 55:25OK, so you were super busy in December.
- 55:28What were you doing differently that I missed that I can go back
- 55:32and and, and to me it's a great combination because I can sit
- 55:36down with Larry and been doing it for 2626 locations and been
- 55:41doing it for 30 plus years. Could I answer that?
- 55:46I called wasn't why she called the statement OHS, but go ahead.
- 55:50I called my office manager earlier.
- 55:52Responded. That I called my office manager
- 55:54earlier and it was it was her and my dispatcher and I was
- 55:58like, hey you guys good like what's going on?
- 56:00Oh, we're figuring out, you know, this, this and that.
- 56:02And they were like, don't worry about it.
- 56:05Like, enjoy your time. Like we got this.
- 56:08It's good feeling, great feeling.
- 56:10And I just was like and. Picked up a beer that.
- 56:13And they were like, Vince, like, just enjoy your time.
- 56:16Like, that's awesome. We want you to learn more to
- 56:20help us grow. Like I have movers that leave
- 56:26are we fire whatever reason and then they beg to come back.
- 56:29They were like, we went everywhere.
- 56:31This isn't always greener. And then we were like your
- 56:34company, the way you run it, you know, you come, I could come
- 56:37talk to you in any time. You always ask me how my wife
- 56:40doing, how my mom's doing. And I went here and in three
- 56:44months, I made 80 and tips. And you brought me back and you
- 56:47were back. I've been back for four days and
- 56:49I made 800 and tips. Everyone else is slow.
- 56:52You're slammed and and then my, my management is just like,
- 56:58don't worry, chill. You got.
- 56:59Like calling me right now. Like, kind of like Larry said
- 57:02this, Larry. Said I don't wanna grow.
- 57:04They love working with me because I don't.
- 57:07I don't think I'm better than anybody.
- 57:09I'm the owner. OK.
- 57:10What does that mean? Like you're you.
- 57:12You're without you. How?
- 57:14Who's going to dispatch without you?
- 57:16Who's going to drive the truck without you?
- 57:17Who's going to be the mover? And I look at we're all equal.
- 57:21We all work each other. We all work for the same common
- 57:24goal. I'm no better than you.
- 57:25You're no better than me. And they know that.
- 57:28And they love working for me. And I don't know, I think that's
- 57:32what drives our culture. James, what about talk about
- 57:34your team a little bit. And I I'm picturing Roman
- 57:38Reigns, I'm picturing The Rock pulling up in a truck.
- 57:41Is this? Did you nailed it?
- 57:44You're. Gonna be 15.
- 57:45Though no, no go after the after the rock.
- 57:48He's gotta be rock. First, I've had the rock, I've
- 57:50had the rock. Yeah, Falso had the Hulk.
- 57:55I've got a lot of a lot of characters.
- 57:57You find a lot of characters on Maui.
- 57:58Yeah, that's for sure. Big guys though, right?
- 58:01That's sometimes, but a lot of times the smaller guys are.
- 58:04Better movers. And and stronger with furniture
- 58:06because he's been doing it for their whole life.
- 58:09You know that muscle memory or something?
- 58:10How are you? Are you travel a lot game?
- 58:15So how's the business running while you're going on this trip?
- 58:18The strip is kind of nice. I mean, I gotta give you credit
- 58:22where credit is due. I got the ready rolls assistant.
- 58:25She's only been on like a week. Did y'all hear that?
- 58:28I didn't hear that. The girls assistant.
- 58:32Dot com. Yes.
- 58:33So you know what's nice? Because like sometimes I won't
- 58:35be able to. See ask for this because I ask
- 58:37for. This I know you.
- 58:38Did that is perfect. I appreciate that, Judge.
- 58:39I'll. Complain.
- 58:40When it comes. If it's there.
- 58:43But it makes me better, actually.
- 58:45Exactly. Sharpens iron.
- 58:48So, um, she, it's like the universe is like perfectly
- 58:56working itself out. Cause they'll be some nights,
- 58:57I'm sure we've all had it where your brain, your brain doesn't
- 59:00turn off before bed. You just got to write things
- 59:03down. It's not all these things that
- 59:05I've written down just like just go over with her.
- 59:09And then and since she got a sauna and like all these tools,
- 59:11because she's an experienced executive assistant, she knows
- 59:14like you found and set up like you did like a lot of the CEO
- 59:19work that I don't want to fucking do.
- 59:21I don't want to make more stops and show her how to do it And
- 59:26and I she like it's like a role that's assumed that's the
- 59:31initiatives being taken and I just like basically unlock the
- 59:35doors to data and she's just like.
- 59:40If you. All those things I couldn't
- 59:43sleep, I just go over with her. And now she puts it in, in a, in
- 59:46a structured, organized place. And now we can tackle it like
- 59:51what's urgent and important first, right?
- 59:53And what's important, not urgent, you know, like.
- 59:55To help you classify it, because everything is important in your
- 59:58head, especially. At night.
- 59:59So here. Here's the reality you want.
- 1:00:01To look at the camera and give her a shout.
- 1:00:02We want to wrap. This up.
- 1:00:04Thank you. Princess Move.
- 1:00:05If that's her name, it's a beautiful name.
- 1:00:08Yeah, we give shout outs. Shouts the Princess.
- 1:00:11Even on. Time.
- 1:00:11Thank you, Princess. James I I want to wrap this
- 1:00:16episode. It's a week and 1/2 so.
- 1:00:17Or so PM's in the month. Stop these DMS. Somebody's in a
- 1:00:27market and they're small community.
- 1:00:29No, no, because yeah, there's the.
- 1:00:31Whole population density community, yeah.
- 1:00:34What's the population? 150.
- 1:00:36Exactly. And a lot of guys, they moved to
- 1:00:39small counties thinking you look, I'm in the big city, I'm
- 1:00:43in a small county outside of the the major cities, and I want to
- 1:00:48start moving company. What's the advice you give
- 1:00:51someone that hat that looks at it going and population is only
- 1:00:54one 5200 thousand. Like I don't know how I'm gonna
- 1:00:57kill it. There's probably another moving
- 1:00:58company already in trying to get in this market place.
- 1:01:02Would you give? 1.
- 1:01:03To go like kind of like a, you can do it.
- 1:01:07I'd say like, start begin with the end in mind, yeah.
- 1:01:12So see where you want to be and then work backwards.
- 1:01:15That's some Yoda shit, right? There some Yoda shit.
- 1:01:17Every every Yoda shit that I get I just steal from somewhere else
- 1:01:20and just repeat it somewhere. Maui.
- 1:01:25He's coming to Maui. He's coming to Memphis.
- 1:01:30No, no, no, listen. He's coming to a time here.
- 1:01:34I'm not gonna say the company's name, but they've been known for
- 1:01:37being the whole most high end movie company in Las Vegas.
- 1:01:40Movie hometown dominator. And I know people who've done
- 1:01:44their marketing and who've been like, why is he, why is he
- 1:01:48dominating us? Like why?
- 1:01:50And then they switch companies. I'm I'm coming and I'm gonna.
- 1:01:53Give a fuck and you're proud of. It will take your market share.
- 1:01:57Hometown dominator. Let's see where it.
- 1:01:59Goes. Chris, I love you, Vincent.
- 1:02:02Chris, you, you, you see, you come to these events.
- 1:02:06You. Tomorrow.
- 1:02:08Speaking tomorrow, we're excited to see you for Day 2.
- 1:02:10Very excited to do it. Once you're out, are you
- 1:02:13opening? Body briefly about this for 30
- 1:02:16minutes. And you're, you're kicking it
- 1:02:19off. Enough to get everybody in the
- 1:02:21room, at least. For sure.
- 1:02:23Just a couple of Tennessee boys having some fun tomorrow.
- 1:02:27Yeah, 2 tomorrow. Can't forget you.
- 1:02:30They put, they slip me in. Excellent.
- 1:02:33Yeah, Chris, when you think of the moving company owners like
- 1:02:39the two, they're sitting here with us, others that are sitting
- 1:02:42in this room, what advice would you give them being where you
- 1:02:46are now, expanding your real estate, your investments, your
- 1:02:51business, your companies, What would you turn to them if they
- 1:02:56said, Chris, give me some words like give me some words of
- 1:03:00advice or where should I be going for 2026?
- 1:03:04I mean, definitely look at a way to get into real estate.
- 1:03:08I mean, that's probably the first, the first play look, look
- 1:03:11for a different avenues to bolt on to your that's complementary.
- 1:03:15Not to take away from your business, but just compliment
- 1:03:17it. I don't know if you guys like
- 1:03:19sell materials. I don't know if you offer junk
- 1:03:22removal. There's tons of little bolt on
- 1:03:24items that were due and still with the same guys, the same
- 1:03:27trucks, you can do all these things as just complementary.
- 1:03:31If you're not into long distance yet, obviously get into long
- 1:03:34distance mean you're kind of limited where where you're at.
- 1:03:37Yeah, yeah. Not us.
- 1:03:40Yeah, we recently hired Ready Rolls to help us work harder in
- 1:03:44some offshore helps and bias and they've done an amazing job and
- 1:03:46they found the perfect candidate for our company.
- 1:03:49Not only that, they help answering the questions that we
- 1:03:50had about the process. You know, initially, you know,
- 1:03:52having a can be intimidating because after all the questions
- 1:03:55been amazing experience has been a huge part of our success thus
- 1:03:59far. Reaching the process of hiring a
- 1:04:01few more right now, definitely see them as being part of our
- 1:04:04growth and reaching our goals on 2020 and another game changer
- 1:04:08for our company. Visit readyrolls.com There is
- 1:04:13now a better way to scale. Are you already doing that
- 1:04:23currently? We started with that before
- 1:04:26local. Yeah, I think I've said this a
- 1:04:28lot, Chris, at the same trip. It's figure out how to multiply
- 1:04:33your revenue without multiple problems.
- 1:04:34What do you already have on your plate and what can you maximize?
- 1:04:37Stop thinking about that secondary market.
- 1:04:40What's in front of you? Three trucks we did 1.5 and that
- 1:04:44wasn't because of all local. We did a lot of long distance.
- 1:04:48Yeah, you were, you just you worked with Jeff at my company
- 1:04:51on a long distance one. I know you were you were doing
- 1:04:54some things. There.
- 1:04:56Yeah. Yeah, that was prior, but you
- 1:04:59had a customer that needed storage and didn't want storage
- 1:05:02in Vegas, so you made it to my storage.
- 1:05:06I would actually say I've done long distance more than I've
- 1:05:08done. I've done long distance longer
- 1:05:10than I've done. Local, but you, but you hear
- 1:05:12this in the episode, right? You have to diversify, you have
- 1:05:15to expand. Otherwise you have to think
- 1:05:17outside the box and get into real estate, right?
- 1:05:20Get into some type of asset that you can have that you have
- 1:05:23underneath your company, not underneath your name that adds
- 1:05:27value to your company. Because to me, I always look at
- 1:05:31it going anybody can start moving company, especially
- 1:05:33today, right? I can, I can put up a website, I
- 1:05:36can get a couple trucks. I can go I can drop 20K on
- 1:05:40Google Adwords and marketing and everything else Vegas and non
- 1:05:44Vegas but or Nevada. But the reality is, is it's
- 1:05:48doable, but if you can get into some type of hard assets and you
- 1:05:54own a property that can bring on to it whether it's mini storage.
- 1:05:57Whether? It's whether it's a warehouse or
- 1:06:01anything else, you can have that as a long term, even if you look
- 1:06:05at an exit strategy, you sell the transportation side of
- 1:06:08things. Here's my moving company.
- 1:06:09I'm going to sub out your your warehouse for you and keep the
- 1:06:14warehouse that sometimes ends up turning to be more valuable than
- 1:06:17your actual moving company. So you need to look at what
- 1:06:21makes sense within your industry, within your market and
- 1:06:24own some of these properties because to me, you're gonna be
- 1:06:27coming every other mover, right? Right.
- 1:06:29And unless you have been around for 50-60 hundred years, you
- 1:06:35don't really have a legacy name. Been around for 5-10 years and I
- 1:06:39want to sell out. I want to retire.
- 1:06:41Great. I'll give you $200,000 your
- 1:06:43company because it's really what what all you're worth.
- 1:06:47No, I want 800. Not worth it right against
- 1:06:49couture and start tomorrow. Or you want a couple of
- 1:06:52properties, all you own real estate.
- 1:06:53What do you got right? What's the value in that?
- 1:06:56That's what I want to look for, right?
- 1:06:58Nevada, whole different ball game.
- 1:06:59I'm going to start looking at what was the difficulty to get
- 1:07:02in there. How was easy going to be for me
- 1:07:04to transfer that in there? Same with Maui and we'll start
- 1:07:07off in on an island. I want to relocate.
- 1:07:09I love Maui. I want to sit there on the
- 1:07:12beach. I want to enjoy myself.
- 1:07:13OK, what does that look like? How does it look like to
- 1:07:16relocate? James, you got a warehouse?
- 1:07:18OK, great. OK, I got an asset, but like I
- 1:07:21just wanna buy a moving company. Go on, I could just start my
- 1:07:24own. Do I wanna start my own?
- 1:07:25Is it worth starting on? Like these are the things as you
- 1:07:28are looking into acquiring another moving company, you have
- 1:07:30to look for. This is why I love learning from
- 1:07:33individuals like yourself because you can see the hustle
- 1:07:37and the game in different states, different environments.
- 1:07:40But it's when we come full circle with all of us in a room
- 1:07:46going, man, here's the potential, here's where I could
- 1:07:49be at, and we think, here's what I could buy, right?
- 1:07:53And at a cheap price because you didn't do it right.
- 1:07:57So that's where you have to look at, am I playing the cards
- 1:08:01correctly? Do I have the right operations?
- 1:08:04Do I have the right playbook? Do have the right CRM in place
- 1:08:07that I'm going to get top game because I want to be like those
- 1:08:10guys, right? So at that note, thank you so
- 1:08:14much for listening. Stay, move, fight everybody.
- 1:08:16It's been a great move. Fight Wednesday.
- 1:08:17I appreciate Vincent James. Chris, thanks for coming in last
- 1:08:21minute. Move in here.
- 1:08:24Until next time, thank you.
