- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, and welcome to another edition of the Niner Noise podcast part of the fan-sided podcast network.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: My name is Robert Morrison, and I contribute here at Niner Noise.com.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: And here with me is fellow contributor, Mr. Oksha's David Duel Oksha.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Zits week five.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's Seattle week how are we feeling?
- 0:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Robert, you know, it's been a good week.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's a huge game coming up.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_01]: So it's been maybe not the best for my productivity otherwise, give me the fact that it's sort of just in the top of my mind basically all the time, but I mean, it's super, it's like,
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: it's this is what you want right you want your team to play the best you want the games that like want the games to matter and oh no this this game matters right out of this track so i'm excited yeah uh it's a nice i mean i think there's a pretty good case to be really this is a good placement for this game in terms of the season like they've gotten through the weird part of the
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: faced a little bit of a, you know, a certain kind of test last week against the Broncos didn't fall into like trap games against the dolphins and the cardinals and came out of it for no and now it's like okay well what is this team really because I think there's a lot of conversations about like.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: is this a real forno or are they getting a benefit of of some things we don't know so it'll be interesting to see how that goes moving forward but man it's going to be an exciting game I think on Sunday oh yeah I mean hopefully figure not on wood every one of these
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, the Seattle will get into like Seattle's record, but they're like lost to Washington was super fluky and in so far it's like it's just it's such a weird game that they lost it doesn't really make sense, which is a good sign of how the NFL goes, but I mean, the 49ers in Seattle, the Rams probably just given the struggles you probably broke them down a little.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they're like, this is the same echelon of team, unfortunately, right?
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: As much as I wish we were back to like 2022, when that was not the case, like they're the same caliber of team.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: So it's really like, who executes better?
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't matter the 49ers are going on the road to Seattle this week, you know?
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: Who's healthy?
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: Who's not playing?
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's all in the margins.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's a division game too, you don't want to get too hyperbolic so I'm not going to be like, oh my gosh, this is like the same as a playoff game, but this is a huge game right and this is a real tone centered I think for both teams obviously Seattle having won the Super Bowl, I think is a little less like we got a quote unquote prove ourselves, but I think for the 49ers, you know, they're kind of
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: brushing the side last year, but they've got embarrassed.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like Seattle embarrassed them two straight weeks.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: Or what the let two get to two or three.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just like there's some ego here, right?
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to prove that you belong with this team again.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's like, you know, energy is going to be high, it should be high.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: This is a division game, it's a former Super Bowl chance, but I mean, it's everything you dream of.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: I've already said this, but like, this is what you want when you're like a football fan.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's a game like this.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, and the other thing is the thing that you always mention, which is these division games count twice.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: So a win means not only do you, well, first of all, you're halfway to an undefeated season in the division, which is good.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: So you guarantee a 500's, no worse than a 500's season in the division, which the way these teams are likely to beat up on each other.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, like, it's four wins in this division
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think there's a pretty decent chance that if you get to four, which means if you win this game and you only have to win one more, you feel pretty good about yourself, right?
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then it just, you know, when you get into the head to head stuff, not to mention as you're talking about like the sort of bragging rights of it all at this, you know, the c-hux, you know, you didn't mince words though on either they pounded the 49ers into the ground the last two times they played each other last season and what have swept the series, if not for Jake to not just been being a magic man in the back knee and zone in Seattle.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, again, as we talked about in the season finale last year and the playoff game, the win is obviously important, but I think showing that you can hang is also vital to even if you lose.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: Great and I'll put like we're going to talk about like these teams are different from last year, right?
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: 40-9 years more so than Seattle.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think the challenge from last year that remains is going to be like looking like your competent NFL offense against Seattle.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: But the thing that I'm more confident
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, get it to this, is that I don't think Seattle's going to score like whatever 50 points they did.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: 40 41 in the playoff came in right like that was embarrassing like I was like I think we all anyone listening to this was embarrassed watching that right yeah so respectability I like demand as like a bear as a bear outcome for this team they should look respectable again Seattle the real like I mean
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: Based off how they've played on offense especially and, you know, we talked about this last year too, right?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like they were on a real heater on offense and then boom, like, that week-a-teen game just everything fell apart.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's still like a plies here, right?
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like,
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of the offense function will have to see, but the defense has to look much better.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, get those bragging rights, but also just like it's a huge game, this team has a like they have their eye on the main prize, right, like four mil doesn't mean anything to them, they're trying to win a super ball, which is perfect, right, key downtown having it's just like.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if they embarrass themselves again, again, Seattle, I mean, I'm not going to like have an existential crisis, but it's going to be really, really, really sad.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: So, Yeah, right there with you on that one.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: So here's open.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: And the nice thing is, uh, I don't know that.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: And because if we were having this conversation like 10 years ago, we would have been talking about like how horrible their record is against Seattle, especially when they go up to Seattle.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: But frankly, that has not really been the case for Kyle Janahan's version of the 49ers.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: That was more of a Jim Harbaugh and coaches that came after him, the less said about them, the better my apologies to those folks.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: And so there is a little bit of that.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's still a terribly difficult place to play, but you don't get the impression that the 49ers have been, like that has been the deciding factor in their ability to be successful against the C-Hox up there.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, I think you're totally right, right?
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like the whole, like, century, whatever, it was called Luminfield.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Luminfield, aspect of it all, I think is gone.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, it's a loud venue.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: It changes the way you play.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: But I think the 40 manners, that's not really the issue anymore.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think the same, like, you know, there was always this specter.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: that Seattle sort of set, right?
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: It was just that defense is super menacing.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: You're probably going to break a bone if you get hit on a transfer, you know, it's going to so loud you can't do any, like, you know, it just felt like as a team you couldn't be comfortable.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think Seattle's defense still has the capacity to do that.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: right but it's not this overarching like oh my gosh we're suffocated everywhere right now it's just like oh they're a really good football team but the 49ers can't have beaten really good football teams as you were saying
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: So that'll be important.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm sure we'll talk about a lot of that stuff in more detail here in a little bit.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: A couple of news and notes things, and we'll talk about injury stuff.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, we're going to really, really, the entire most injury, most news related to this team seems to be surrounded by injuries in some ways to perform.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: The first of which we must talk about is we got
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: uh... moderately excited about the potential for dondi predest to be a part of this team uh... dudes in practice for two days one day injures his calf he has been played place on the practice squad injury reserve list uh... act as i don't think i knew that there was a separate injury reserve for the practice squad uh... but now i do uh... and so that's not great so he'll be on that i'm not sure what the rules are of that because it again i just found up that it existed
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: the day or two ago.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: They also signed in his place, former Rams receiver and punt returner Xavier Smith to the practice squad.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: So adds another wrinkle in there, who knows if that's actually a guy who has an opportunity to play.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: Although, to be fair, given the fact that Jacob Cowling is not exactly like taking the punt return job by the scruff of the neck.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's always a possibility that if the guy like Xavier Smith who has a pretty extensive punt returning history with the Rams, that I don't know, is there an outside chance that he just takes Jacob County's job?
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm speculating, but it would be interesting to see.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, the the churning continues at White or Sever, both on and off the active roster.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yeah, I mean, I think, um,
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: Soxford Dante, you know, came back had a chance, you know, come back story and then I also didn't know there's an IR for the practice squad, frankly don't know exactly why there's a different one, this is like levels of injury like fatigue that like I have never like we're we're past even normal 49er standards at this point.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then like, I agree, right?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think with the Xavier Smith part of it all, Cowling has not taken the job and ran with it.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think I expected and hoped for.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how quickly they make a switch, but I think you definitely have to keep an eye on it, given just like.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: You're not getting that explosiveness and sometimes you're not even getting the like baseline level.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm just going to count but didn't see.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think the main part for me that I keep on thinking about is like, there's a lot of punts that like within the tent that are being fair caught.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's like that's that's a no go.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's a pretty obvious no go.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, I don't know, maybe that's a key.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: There's like a coaching point, but I agree.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: you know, really a depth signing, but you never know what this team.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the 49ers will play anyone.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: They did not care about that at all.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: So if you prove yourself in practice, I could see I could see Xavier Smith getting an opportunity.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's got a career average of 9.4 yards per pot return, nothing spectacular, no touchdowns or anything on special teams, but he does have a lot of experiences played in 34 games as a as a pot returner.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: in the regular season.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: So it's there.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: If the 49ers decided to make a change there, so something to watch out for, then the other big news related to injury is actually a positive one, and that is that it appears for all intents and purposes that Mike Adams is going to play on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: And boy is this good news.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: That is it.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: That is awesome.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so excited.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, A, just at the very basic level, that is a competent professional defensive lineman, the 49ers will have that's exciting.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: B, my toes looking pretty good one on.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: He got hurt and he adds so much flexibility.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: He pushes everyone down a bit as they should be on the, like, depth chart, like, he'll get a chance to like restart his like NFL career.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the sky is still through the weird fun as potential, right, given just like his size and athletic trades.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I think I'm just, I'm so excited.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's gonna be huge boost for the team.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: This like this upcoming week, but really like long term, it's just so exciting to have him back.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's a big deal.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: I was listening to something the other day and apparently he's been working hard with Nick Bosa.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously Bosa has done this ACL rehab three times now.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: And so he's been working hard with him to help get his get.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: himself back up, but apparently he's also working with him on like nutrition and stuff.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: So he's apparently he's he's a leaner, uh, possibly, hopefully faster, uh, my KELOLAND, so it should be a nice addition.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't I don't think there's anybody like envisioning he's going to turn into an edge rusher or something like that, but if he can be the based down defense events and then an interior past rusher, I'm just just imagining like him and and Osa de Hizo as interior past rusher
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then once they get the rest of the, once both is back and if you get Matthew Jude on and maybe they make a trade later on that the defensive line certainly starts to take up a different look and feel for sure under percent.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think like he's a necessary element of how of this process for this team is that like.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: They're starting off to get, like, they're getting healthier.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: The line is coming into shape, but he's a huge part of that, right?
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: His ability to shift inside.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Keyon White has said an amazing job doing that himself.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: But, like, my Cal being able to do that just adds so much flexibility.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's, and, you know, if he can develop that edge sort of repertoire, which, you know, who knows,
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, he plays with such effort too, which is what really matters because like with Bosa, if you, if you play hard and you play strong, you can get clean upsacks and like, I think Mike tells definitely the player who for who that's like a possibility.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: So getting everyone back, I really think this defense will take up just because they'll start to be able to give more pressure.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, taking a look at the injury reports, uh, no major surprises here.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, both are not practicing.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: Kyle, you check not practicing.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: Mark, you see, go, uh, not practicing, um, other than that, everyone has either been full or limited throughout the week, uh, minor concern, just kind of flagging this.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Evans was limited on Wednesday.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't practice on Thursday.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: I say minor only because he didn't practice I don't think at all last week any played
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: So the only thing that, again, this is a rib situation, my understanding, I'm not a doctor, but my understanding of how these rib situations work out is these are mostly, you know, try to great your way through it and, you know, protect yourself as best you can, but it's mostly pain, how much pain you can handle.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: And so I would imagine that until things kind of subside,
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: he may continue to play, but his, he's going to look, I imagine his practice availability is going to look kind of not so great, but as long as there's no setbacks, which is what we were told after the game on Sunday, that he should be continuing to play.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: You just have to manage it and hopefully get to the buy and give them something like actual off time and see how he's able to respond to it because I mean, also not a doctor that's just like, yes, they stuff it's not the injury, but yeah, I mean, it would be it will be tough if he can't go because he is, like, he's a real he's what he's like, one of the X factors for
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: This attack against Seattle as opposed to last year, right?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, okay, the wide receiver room should better challenge to Seattle's coordinates.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: So, that's gonna require Evan's being out there.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, if you can't go, there'll be a brutal loss for the team, but...
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we can really read much into the practice report, like you were saying.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: From the C.O.X.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: point of view, they look fairly healthy.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: Zack Sharpenae has been limited so far this week, along with Irvin Charles, the wedger seaver, and other runnin' back George Halani.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: They already have Jadarian price.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: They're first round draft pick this year.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: Another running back who was taken over as their starter, he is already on injured reserves.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: Not great from their perspective.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: Ernest Jones, the linebacker, limited after resting on Wednesday.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: You might have purchased the cornerback limited with an ankle.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: The one notable, again, this is in the same vein as Mike Evans to be honest with you, is Leonard Williams.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: He was limited on Wednesday and then bumped down to a did not practice on Thursday.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: To be honest with you, I don't know the nature of what's going on there.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: It could be very similar.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's a veteran player who doesn't need the reps as much, and so maybe there's given him a break.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: He does have an ankle that he's working through, obviously the limited practice on Wednesday would suggest that.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: But it could be something to watch, Leonard Williams, a key part of that defensive line.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: but yeah, nothing jumps out to you in terms of their health other than, as I said, the, the fact that jitterian price is on injured reserve.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, the big one is the Lenin Williams injury.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: If that is like not what we think is going on with Mike Evans, but like he actually won't be play on Sunday, that's huge.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Seattle's defensive line is good and it's deep, but Williams is sort of like an anchor for it.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: So losing him is a big deal for how like for the kind of interior pressure they provide.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I could, I mean, he kind of dominated last year.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: So it would be a huge loss for Seattle, and a big win for the Niners.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, you know, hopefully he's fine.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: on this podcast we want everyone to sort of be healthy and see the best, like the best for both teams compete, right?
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: No, you know, but I mean it is true like that that is a big destabilizer for their defensive line that would give the 49ers a lot of opportunity, especially because we don't really know how the offensive line's been to hold up so you might as well, you know let them go against
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: right on well said all right um well with that let's go ahead and uh get into um uh our reasons for optimism and our reasons for concern for this game i think this is going to be possibly the most interesting conversation that we've had vis-a-vis the reason for optimism and reasons for concern so far uh this season
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think that's pretty safe to say at this point, so OX has, I will, we'll start with you as we often, as we usually do, talk about our reasons for optimism.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so this is going to sound a little, I think, paradoxical, giving a love, I love some, some paradoxical thinking.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: to give in sort of like what we were talking about like oh the offense you know it's like been really good like that's been the but like I think the reason for optimizes the 49ers defense in this game and what I mean by that is they're healthier than last year and Seattle's offense has just looked worse I mean they're running game has been much worse.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: mostly, I think you can sort of, you can put some of that on like, you know, bright and flurry the former 40-winter's Titan Coach, calling plays, as like it's been a work in progress there, Kenneth Walker, the Super Bowl MVP is no longer.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: They're for the so it's like they've sort of tried to figure out the running game and they're a running team They had a pretty good game last week and they've been like fine, right?
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like I don't want to overstate this they're averaging 110 rushing your answer game.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's pretty good, but I think
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the world beating offense it was last year and what the 49ers have that they don't have last year is a bit of a different scheme that might provide a little bit of benefit, you know, I think solid scheme was not able to handle Seattle's offense.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: Fred Wardner back having trade dreamla here now having those secondary be healthier.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think gives the 49ers a little more of a bull work against Seattle's offense and really like Seattle's offense has become more one-dimensional.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's very focused on.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: JSM, Jackson's Philly Jitbo's, so if the Fortnite owners can sort of key it on that, I think they'll be able, you know, we talked about like being competitive, this is where I think the being competitive part comes from is that I think the defense won't just like give up touchdowns left and right and will be able to do a little better against again Seattle.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, one thing Robert that you sent to me, that I just didn't believe.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: Is it the 49ers or I think like top five in the NFL when it comes to like success rate against the run?
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: Which in saying let me find the stat exactly.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, this is their running.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: This is their running game.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: This is their running game never mind But I think defensively too, right they've used we talked about in the
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: in their recap of last week.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they've been good against the run.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: They've been bad against like duo runs on the inside, but they've been relatively good against the run.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they have a better ability to sort of stabilize games on defense.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's really their opportunity, right?
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's their method for success.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: Seattle is um, they've been, they've been good this year.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: They've been um,
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: They're 11th in the league in EPA per play, expected points added per play.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty high, 27.7% of the drives and touchdowns, but they have not been
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: as like they're not as efficient as last year, I would say, and I think the 49ers are healthier to sort of take sort of advantage of the situation.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: They're, I just, I'm sorry, figuring out as things are going.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: They are 31st in the NFL on third down.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: That can't, I'm going to verify this.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's the Seahawks offense.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: Seahawks offense, apparently.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, opportunities here.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: Right, they have, it pains me to say this, probably like a top five, top three receiver in the NFL right now.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: Chuck and Jason, I mean, electric, right?
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: And when it clicks it clicks well for them, but the 49ers have it.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: they have the possibility to hit like stand firm.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I think defensively they'll be more competitive.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: And if they can do that, that gives their offense chances to sort of like stay in the game, which I will get to.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I think you will also get to later.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I'm pretty much like exactly on those same things with you.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: This Seattle offense has definitely lost a step.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: So they're just kind of a middle of the road offense.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: So far, you talked about EPA, expected points added on a per play basis.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: They're 16th in the NFL and negative 0.03 with just a 44.73% success rate as an offense.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: Their passing is OK. 0.12, which is 12th in the NFL.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: Again, as you mentioned, it's pretty much a JSON.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's it, kind of thing for them, which kind of it's made them pretty one-dimensional and it's a good dimension to have, don't get me wrong.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: But it is certainly a one-note kind of offensive plan.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: And part of that is because they're rushing just efficiency.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: You said the numbers aren't bad, but just like in terms of their their efficiency in terms of EPA, they are 29th in the NFL.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: negative point two zero in the Russian game and the fact that they lost their leading Russia and are basically working with their backups, you know, Zack Sharminay has toasted us before, so I'm not going to badmouth him.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: But oh, he's been hurt.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's been on pop, so he hasn't even played yet this year.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, so there we go.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: so that it just seems like he's he's he's all set up then isn't he?
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I just think like the the the offense is getable.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like you just have to you force them to to throw the ball and then you make sure that that anybody out like I think it's a make someone else besides
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: Jackson Smith and Jacob of B2 and and if if if they do, you know, you tip your cap to them.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that's that's the way you have to handle this this this offense.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: I also think you can't like.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: like shortchains the like redemption game element of this like they got smashed twice in a row after you know at the end of the last season especially with the week eight with the week gate team game and they're like oh if you win this game you have a chance you win the division yeah and then they just just like got annihilated and then you thought a little better because they went and to fill in one that game and then went to Seattle and La.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, again, you mentioned it different team in a lot of ways, but also you've got to have the sense of like they want to go in and prove themselves.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's right.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, like I think that's right.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think I will just, you know, flag a very trait thing that I think we all know that um, love it.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, I know, but you know what I mean, like it's not I know I know it's it's say again, I think it's not Yeah, I don't know you know what I mean, it's obviously I'm not saying they're going to stop Jackson Smith and Jacob on Sunday and it's likely that he still plays well, but I think you kind of have to
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like, accept that, is that sound weird to say that?
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you just accept that he's going to do what he's going to do.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: And you'll have to leave out the, and just hope that you can do enough with the rest of the team.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's right.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think that's the way it goes, right, is like, I think they're,
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: There that's just like what you have the really great which again, I don't love saying this, but it's true right and you have the really great you kind of assume that they're going to get theirs and you want to limit the damage and I think that's what the four partners are going to have to do otherwise it totally agree right I think the the offense is getable relatively speaking we're we're asking a lot out of the defense that has been up and down this year, but
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is really, this is their chance to shine.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're going to have a great, great, they have the opportunity for a great performance.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: And if you think about it last year, right, in the week 18, like the defense held up for most of the game.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I stayed close.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: Ultimately, they just couldn't stop the run.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: But they had a chance for a part of that game.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: And when I think that was a big part of why the 49ers were
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely, and I think, and in this isn't to say that the foreign owners lost those lost, you can weak 18 and in the playoffs because their defense was in shambles, but it certainly did not help.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think that I think that's safe to say.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, on to our reasons for concern of which there are probably many or maybe just one big one oxas.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, you know, we've been sort of burying the lead, but also being very explicit about this.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: Seattle's defense is like so good.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's just it's act just dominant.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: Really good.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: And to the point where a, I genuinely, I cannot say with confidence that I think the 49ers will score a touchdown in this game.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_00]: I hope they do.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they didn't go last two games.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: Look, we're a fan podcast, we're fans of the team.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: We try to be objective.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: We can be a little homery.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_01]: This is just like, but like at a certain point, even our biases aside just call it like it is, this is so good at defense.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: Everything you've seen the last four weeks could go out the window.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: There's just no guarantee that the 40 managers are gonna actually be able to compete against them.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: against Seattle's defense.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: They're second in the league and expected points at a per play, only behind the Minnesota Vikings, whose defense is a whole other can of words, which we'll talk about later in the season.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: But these are really two different defenses.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like fundamentally in how they approach the game, Minnesota has this in large part because like
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: they will they like score if that like they will win games by scoring points on defense.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: Seattle does obviously creates turnovers just like any other team, but you just don't have an inch of space against them.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: They are the they're at top five against the rush.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: They're tough.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's the pass.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: They've only allowed six passing touchdowns.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: They've only allowed one rushing touchdown.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they're talented up and down the field.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're defensive line is good.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: They're linebacked for good.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: They're secondary is good.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: They have one of the best cornbacks in the league and divine weather spoon who can go anywhere outside inside.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_01]: They have like a safety big nickel and a win-worry.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: We can also go anywhere and it's like designed to stop tight ends and running back like George Kittle and Trish and Cat free.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is just there as a lead at defense as you can find in the NFL.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: They match up really, really well against the 49ers.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: They are, first and the league in yards allowed as well.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: So equally concerning in that way.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: But it's really the match up, right?
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like what did the 49ers lack?
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: They lack athleticism and speed aren't offense.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's really the thing that they've been struggling to sort of like.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: They've been trying to infuse in their team.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: What does Seattle have?
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's just athletic dudes.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_01]: Just up and down the field.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_01]: So what happens is they play it cohesively, they play cohesively, they play in unison And they just they don't give you space.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have an inch against their defense as the stats bare out And so you have you have to grind for every yard every first down And eventually you make a mistake.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: There's a holding penalty a drop pass and incomplete like a bad throw in boom they like
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: they get off the field and they let their offense get to work.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, this is the real test for the 49ers.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm framing this as a reason for concern, because it is, I mean, they could be shut out in this game.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't be surprised if that happened.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: It would suck, but I wouldn't be surprised.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: But this is like the fitness test, right?
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers' offense has been like outrageously good so far,
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: Is this kind of a facade, or is there something more real here?
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: And really, it's a rock party, right?
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is going to be his biggest test of the year.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, in that way, it's a great opportunity, but like Seattle's defense, single handly can win any game.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: And like, there may be three, I would say there's right now in the NFL, there are two defenses that have played at that level.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: Seattle, Minnesota, Seattle's like they can win a game just on defense like their defense has the ability to simply like End a game by itself, and that's gonna like that's just a challenge for the 49ers and they're gonna have to Everyone Kyle Shanahan, Brock pretty the entire offense is gonna have to figure out how to like unlock the offense against them because It is just not worked the last few games they've played against Seattle
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's it's stuff you mentioned they're just good like and it's not like
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: you know, like there's some teams on defense are like, well, they're really tough on against the run and but you can throw on them or vice versa.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_00]: You mentioned their top five against the run and the pass in terms of EPA, expected points added.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: They're negative 0.18 overall, which is the second best of you, as you noted in the NFL, fourth NEPA allowed against the pass, fifth against the run.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're just going to make it really hard for the 49ers to do anything at any point throughout this game, and it's going to take a master class of sorts, well, not of sorts, it's going to take a master class in like no uncertain terms from from Kyle Shanahan, it's going to take
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: Brock Perti to play within himself because I think it's like it's not even the Seattle of it all.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's the it's the the Mike McDonald of it all right because we saw this was a four, three, three, four years ago on Christmas against the the Ravens and that was like Brock Perti's worst game as a as a pro maybe like his worst game as a as a quarterback full stop.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_00]: would he throw four interceptions or is it five?
- 36:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't recall.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: It really ruined Christmas.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's all I remember.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_00]: And so this something about this particular scheme like messes like gets in his head.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know what that is, and I don't know what specifically does that to him necessarily.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure there's something that if that we where we could we could unlock it a little bit and try to get a sense of like, oh, this is the thing that that is a problem.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, like I don't have a sense of whether or not it's a Kyle Shanahan can't figure it out thing or if it's just like Brock Party just like for whatever reason just has a block with this particular scheme.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's both.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think that like, I think Purry doesn't read it well.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: But I think Shannon Hans typical ways, he tries to take advantage of defenses.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't work as well here.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: Right, I mean, this unit, Shannon Hans said I'm paraphrasing him for his weekly presser.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: This unit has just plays in unison.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: They're on a string across the field.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: And what that does is shanahan, like the scheme is really good at manufacturing, like coverage bus by putting defenders in conflict with their rules, right?
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like a linebacker knows that when a player goes this way, they have to like shade a certain way.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: But the play is designed to force that shades so when it comes over to the top,
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, stuff like that McDonald's scheme sort of protects against that in a really good way, so schematically you're not getting the give me's and then when you do get like now that you don't have your give me's they're just talented everywhere right so like.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: They have one of the few guys in the league who can like make a claim to actually generally be able to cover George Kittle, right?
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like man on man, he can actually cover Kittle.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: Same thing with their corners, same thing like their defensive line has the ability to man-hailed the 49ers offensive line.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: So like if you can't scheme up gamies, then you're just like it's a talent battle.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: And last year, the 49ers with all the injuries were just not as talented as the Seahawks when it came to this way.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: This year it might be different.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: My Kevin's, the X factors we've been saying, he can change the calculus on that.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_01]: But well, I mean, we'll have to see what
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: The coaches are going to do because this is going to be a huge coaching battle just very exciting, you know, like this is about as high levels of gets in the NFL so it's exciting to see how that's going to go.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's I think it's pretty safe to say that it's going to take a.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, monumental might be, like, maybe over playing it a little bit, but it is going to have to, it's going to, they're going to need to be very composed.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: That, that is the word that I will use to describe what is going to, what it's going to take from.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: the 49ers' offense.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like it can't let them dictate to you what they want to do.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_00]: You have to be like, we are the offense and we're going to do what we want to do.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: And even if it's not terribly efficient, which I think it has a high likelihood that it will not be, you have to
- 40:28[SPEAKER_00]: to take what you can, where you can take and then hope that, that the, the, the 49ers offense or defense, sorry, being a little bit better than it was last year will be sufficient to like keep you in the game.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: A great totally great.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_00]: Because otherwise, you're going to put like it's just like play playing within yourself is going to be really important and just like right like they have to be able to recognize.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like we're not going to win the game on one play here in the second quarter, but you can surely lose it on one play in the second quarter.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: And so just being smart about it, I think is is going to be the big the big thing here.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: Totally agree.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: Totally agree.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like the defenses set up to get you to make a mistake.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's the whole setup, right?
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: Is that you need to, you know, like you're not going to get anywhere.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be annoying and suffocating and then you take a chance that you shouldn't have taken.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: Again, an interception.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: Boom.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_01]: like you just you can't give into that you got to chip away.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see how they manage it because that's a that's a hard ask, you know, it's hard for teams to just be okay with that.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll have to see how the fully manager's handled that situation.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_00]: like as a as a related thing like I think the version of Brock party that we've seen so far in this this season gives me a little bit of confidence that maybe he should be able to he should he should be a like a little bit more equipped but that doesn't mean that he won't that you know once you get out there he's the it doesn't mean that he's not going to kind of find
- 42:27[SPEAKER_00]: in a situation where he's going to feel the pressure to like I have to produce I have to get this job done because ultimately that's what you want to avoid that's the thing that you have to be aware of from his perspective and I think he knows that and not concerned that he's going to
- 42:45[SPEAKER_00]: that he's going to try to do so that, well, I am a little concerned that he's going to try to do something he can't do, but you know what I mean?
- 42:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I feel like there is an opportunity given the way that he has played so far that possibly, I'm not saying he's going to like solve this defense or anything like that, but I do think that there is a
- 43:11[SPEAKER_00]: an opportunity for him to show what he has learned and what he how is he like I think I mean I know for fact there are there there are people out there waiting for him to fail again so they can jump on him but I think this is this is a chance to show even if he doesn't
- 43:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like go out there and just like blow him away, like a composed performance against the defense that normally gives him fits and that he is usually the opposite of composed against will will do wonders and is also going to give the foreign owners the best chance to win the game.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: Right, I think.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: He, like, this is really the test right now, as you said, right for the new and improved Brock Perti, this game's like this, it's easy when the offense is like humming along perfectly and you're like, wow, everything's great, you know, what are we like?
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like what's the problem here?
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: You score a touchdown on every single drive, but this is when it like being quoted quote, like one of the best really comes in.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: Can you manage the game, you know, stay on top of it, make the plays you need and get your team of win?
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: And if you can do that, I mean, this is like, you know, this is case one for his MVP, like, like candidacy, it's like, again, this game.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like if this game turns out like wildly successful for him, they'll be talking about this at the end of the season when people are deciding
- 44:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and again, he doesn't have to like go out there and score 40 points against this defense, but he should if he did that would be good.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: We'd like that very much.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Brock, please.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_00]: We're not telling you not to, because we know you're listening.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like, hey, Brock, how's it going?
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: Um, if you are listening, I would like to come to a game someday.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_00]: If you could make that happen, that would be great.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, but yeah, hold hold the, like,
- 45:23[SPEAKER_00]: The team itself is in a better position to stay competitive.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think week one last year is exactly the thing that you're, is the, the recipe for this, right?
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be ugly and it's not gonna feel great during the whole time at all until the end.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_00]: But if you wanna win, I think that's probably the way this works out.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_00]: All right, well, let's, that's perfect transition.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: Remember folks that we are fans first and foremost, and we're homeers.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_00]: Slightly.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's that said.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_00]: Go for it.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, I think these teams are pretty evenly matched.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: So, I, the injuries to me are just, it's just too much.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just not sure that the 49ers
- 46:15[SPEAKER_01]: is healthy enough to stand up.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like, I think this is going to be like with a one possession game either way, but I'm going to go, I really don't like doing this.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: 21, 20 Seattle.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I think it's it's such a, I gave you the margins.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: the margins are so tight, you just like, it's a coin flip game to me, but I mean, until I see it, I'm just skeptical that the foreign enters offense has the answers.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: I can see adults do things.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: Now scoring 20 points would be some of the answers anyway.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: So that would be cool if they scored 20, though we much better than the last two games, but getting
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just not, I don't think this means Seattle's better necessarily.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're like at the same level of team.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe it's just like they're traveling, the injury slightly.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like you could cornflip this, I could flip the names, but I do think Seattle's gonna win this one.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_00]: Well, fine then.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: You said 21, 20?
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_00]: I also had a very similar the low scoring game, but I'm because I'm going to lean into it.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_00]: 1714 49ers, because the spias, like this is, I think this is the way they have this has this game has to go for them to win.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really see an outcome where they go in
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like you said, I think the full strength, maybe that's more of a conversation that we can have, but as you said, as currently constructed, I think the 49ers have to ugly this up a little bit.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think they have to get with a can and take points when the points are there and yeah.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_00]: So five and a let's do it.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to be wrong.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love nothing more than to be wrong about this, so.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's crossed.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we'll find out, but yeah, it's on the afternoon.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how it goes.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_00]: Oxygen has any final thoughts before we wrap this up.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, I said this at the start and like many, many times before we got into the reasons for optimism and concern.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_01]: But like this is an awesome game, right?
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is like, this is what you want.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: Division rival, neither team likes each other.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_01]: The 40 matters to me, they're very clear that they're not fans of the C-Hox this week.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't like C-Hadow, you know, that's a seven-al-team for my fandom.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: Right, like it's just,
- 49:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's a high stakes, energetic game, or gets two phenomenal teams in the division with like some like bragging rights on the line, given last year for the 49ers, it is gonna be awesome.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think even if it's a very low scoring game, it'll still be awesome, just in terms, it's gonna be competitive, no team's gonna give up an inch.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's that's just very exciting as a fan is to be like, okay, well, you're gonna watch football at a Thai level.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm just super excited to
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: See the game I really hope the 49ers win, even though I predicted that they will lose, but like, it's better this than they play against a team that like, they just simply like, you know, these are just no stakes in the game.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'd rather be a fan of a team where these games mean something and we're all lucky that that's true right now.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm just excited to enjoy it.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that's well said, as always, humor, the King of the Closer.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_00]: All right, well, we will be back with you after the 49ers win.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_00]: Will they lose?
- 50:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_00]: I guess we'll be back either way.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_00]: But until then, we want to say thanks for listening to this episode of the nine or noids podcast part of the fancited podcast network.
