- 0:26Speaker 1: It is time believe your worries outside and laugh with
- 0:33Speaker 1: us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Melly, along with Trade Trendhole,
- 0:37Speaker 1: Raj Sharma and Jerry Caldwell. Today is Bad Day, February
- 0:46Speaker 1: twenty first, twenty twenty five. Welcome inside the Treehouse. I
- 0:54Speaker 1: know it's going to be a good day, not just
- 0:56Speaker 1: because it's Friday, but because Tray an email with a
- 1:01Speaker 1: bunch of news stories. And as if that's not already
- 1:06Speaker 1: a good enough sign, it's an even better sign when
- 1:11Speaker 1: the email that Tray sends full of news stories. The
- 1:16Speaker 1: first news story talks about a plump beaver.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Gotta love a plump beaver?
- 1:26Speaker 1: You do? I mean, you're just so warm and cuddly.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I have purposely not read anything about this story. I
- 1:36Speaker 1: have only read one, two, three, four, five six seven
- 1:44Speaker 1: words into this story, and that was enough for me
- 1:47Speaker 1: to know this is what we will start the Friday show.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Inside the Treehouse with a plump beaver is Chicago's newest
- 2:00Speaker 1: viral sensation.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Wow, I'm excited.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah, This from WGN in Chicago. Chicagoans love to name animals,
- 2:18Speaker 1: but a new furry friend captivating the city online is
- 2:21Speaker 1: without one environmental nonprofit Urban Rivers hopes to change that.
- 2:28Speaker 1: The organization is seeking the public's help in naming the
- 2:31Speaker 1: south Side semi aquatic rodent that has gone viral on
- 2:35Speaker 1: social media. The unnamed beaver lives along the Chicago River.
- 2:41Speaker 1: A beaver researcher named Sammy Clark joined WGN's Evening News
- 2:45Speaker 1: at six on Tuesday to discuss the contest and the
- 2:48Speaker 1: uptick of beaver sightings. Though many suspect the beaver to
- 2:52Speaker 1: be pregnant, Clark consists that researchers are unsure if I
- 3:00Speaker 1: wrote it as male or female. According to Sammy, seeing
- 3:08Speaker 1: this individual looking so plump, especially this time of year,
- 3:11Speaker 1: gives us hope that it could be the female pregnant again.
- 3:18Speaker 1: While Urban Rivers official research began last September, Sammy says
- 3:22Speaker 1: the nonprofit has seen various beaver sightings since twenty twenty two,
- 3:25Speaker 1: but is the population growing too early to tell. Sandy says,
- 3:28Speaker 1: hopefully in a year or so, we'll have some published
- 3:31Speaker 1: information for people to follow along with. As for the
- 3:35Speaker 1: naming contest, some unique Chicago centric names are already catching on,
- 3:41Speaker 1: such as dam Ryan and Sigourney Beaver.
- 3:47Speaker 2: That one gets my vote, YEP.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Still Sammy Clark asks anyone interested to share their beaver
- 3:51Speaker 1: names on Urban Rivers, social media pages, and other digital platforms.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So there you have it. City of Chicago has a
- 4:02Speaker 1: plump beaver and it needs a name. Right now, I
- 4:07Speaker 1: really am wishing I had pre read this story.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Oh man, we can we can add a segment, you know,
- 4:20Speaker 3: to to help join the cause and call it name
- 4:23Speaker 3: that beaver.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Sure, every great beaver needs a name, h because how
- 4:29Speaker 1: else do you be down in the annals of history
- 4:31Speaker 1: without one?
- 4:38Speaker 3: And it's south side, so it should just be a
- 4:39Speaker 3: little beaver.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Oh danke to beaver. Well, it is plump.
- 4:52Speaker 5: I don't know why this is, you know, plump and androgyness.
- 4:55Speaker 5: I was like beaver balanche And if if you're under forty,
- 5:04Speaker 5: I never watched Hollywood squeers, you'll never get that reference.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Just go back and watch them old ones on YouTube.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Bruce Valance did look a little bit like a like
- 5:17Speaker 1: a blonde beaver.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Just yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 6: Uh.
- 5:21Speaker 1: So there you have it. A plump beaver in Chicago
- 5:24Speaker 1: needs a name. And I think I think this is
- 5:28Speaker 1: what I'll be thinking about all weekend. A name or
- 5:34Speaker 1: the plump beaver both, because I think the two go
- 5:38Speaker 1: hand in hand, just one hand. How sometimes you really
- 5:52Speaker 1: want to leave a mark and look, keep in mind,
- 5:58Speaker 1: just because I don't have a list of names prepared
- 6:00Speaker 1: doesn't mean I'm ill equipped to deliver some serious beaver
- 6:03Speaker 1: in you windows. Oh man, No, I will be uh.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I will be thinking you at this quite a bit
- 6:12Speaker 1: over the weekend. And you know what, what deep thoughts
- 6:19Speaker 1: I have in the middle of the night when I
- 6:21Speaker 1: can't sleep is typically my own business, but in this case,
- 6:25Speaker 1: I'll make an exception. I'll be sure to share some
- 6:27Speaker 1: of those three a M thoughts with you.
- 6:31Speaker 3: I'm gonna be thinking about names too.
- 6:36Speaker 4: I know, Dan strappy beaver doesn't sound you know it.
- 6:41Speaker 1: No, it doesn't have the oomph that you would hope.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Called Peggy Peggy the beaver.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Come on, no, that's uh, that's the name for the apparatus.
- 7:04Speaker 1: You love naming things, apparently just the obvious things. Uh
- 7:11Speaker 1: sort of uh but yeah, so like uh. There have
- 7:14Speaker 1: been other great naming contests in recent years. But I
- 7:17Speaker 1: forget where it was. But there was a boat that
- 7:19Speaker 1: needed a new name and they mistakenly left it up
- 7:23Speaker 1: to people online to come up with it. And what
- 7:26Speaker 1: the name ended up being Boaty mcboat face.
- 7:31Speaker 3: It was a school naming thing. I think it was
- 7:33Speaker 3: in Houston, and those names were very interesting. I can't
- 7:36Speaker 3: remember the names of them, but some of them were really,
- 7:38Speaker 3: really clever, and some of them were just downright hilarious.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I know, I know one of them was schooly mcschool face.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I have no doubt because that one always gets thrown
- 7:46Speaker 1: in to the mix whenever these naming situations happened.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Freddie Beavery don't so it's a queen. I like it.

- 9:57Speaker 1: Maley Trade Turnholm, Ras Sharma and Jerry called well with
- 10:00Speaker 1: you inside the Treehouse today. Oh, very exciting news. Do
- 10:06Speaker 1: you guys remember a young lady from a few months ago.
- 10:12Speaker 1: She was a Hooters girl and she was pulled over
- 10:17Speaker 1: by police for a suspected DUI and she went a
- 10:23Speaker 1: little viral. I remember she went a little viral in
- 10:31Speaker 1: her altercation We're not really altercation, but in the conversation
- 10:37Speaker 1: she had with the officer that stopped her on suspicion
- 10:41Speaker 1: of DUI. Her name was Sophia Sophia Ross I believe
- 10:47Speaker 1: is her name, and I'm going to play for you
- 10:50Speaker 1: now a reminder. This was the interaction that the Hooters
- 10:56Speaker 1: waitress had with an officer who suspected her of having
- 10:59Speaker 1: a d You why uh some few some months ago,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I swear to God I talked for a living. It
- 11:05Speaker 1: just doesn't sound like it right now. So I'm trying
- 11:06Speaker 1: to find the damn video.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Uh.
- 11:10Speaker 1: But yeah, no I found it.
- 11:12Speaker 11: Uh.
- 11:12Speaker 1: So, the Hooters waitress that went viral for her interaction
- 11:15Speaker 1: with a police officer who stopped her for a suspected
- 11:18Speaker 1: d u Y is back in the news. But here's
- 11:21Speaker 1: the reminder of that interaction with the officer.
- 11:25Speaker 12: Wake out here, we're gonna make out there. I got heat, bro, bro,
- 11:38Speaker 12: I got a.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Now that part right there, while entertaining, is not the
- 11:43Speaker 1: part that made her Internet famous. The part that really
- 11:47Speaker 1: makes her Internet famous is coming up right here.
- 11:52Speaker 6: Okay, do you want to try this first exercise for me?
- 11:55Speaker 12: I will do anything for you. Daddy, God damn.
- 11:59Speaker 2: All right, yeah, buddy.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Now once again, we said it when we first played
- 12:07Speaker 1: this video.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I'm going to say it again.
- 12:09Speaker 1: The amount of restraint that this officer has is staggering.
- 12:16Speaker 6: Okay, do you want to try this first exercise for me?
- 12:19Speaker 12: I will do anything for you, Daddy, God damn, give
- 12:24Speaker 12: in that suit anything for you?
- 12:29Speaker 6: Can you put your feet together? Okay, now it's grabbing
- 12:39Speaker 6: my flash.
- 12:40Speaker 12: Whatever you want, daddy.
- 12:41Speaker 6: Okay, before we start, before we start, Hey, are you wearing?
- 12:50Speaker 12: Are you wearing? I am wearing conta. I am wearing contacts.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Just stop it to fiah, well, we have an update.
- 13:13Speaker 2: What's that?
- 13:15Speaker 3: I was like, she backs the blue?
- 13:18Speaker 1: No, she backs up to the blue. Uh. So there
- 13:25Speaker 1: is an update on this Hooters girl being pulled over
- 13:28Speaker 1: for a duy a few months ago. Sophia Gabrielle Ross.
- 13:31Speaker 1: That is the Hooters waitress who went viral for shamelessly
- 13:35Speaker 1: flirting with a police officer during her DUI rest in
- 13:38Speaker 1: Sarah sort of Florida. She just got a lucky break.
- 13:43Speaker 1: She has dodged jail time. Her REP says, first of all,
- 13:47Speaker 1: I'm shocked she has a rep. But uh, we have
- 13:49Speaker 1: learned that Sophia Ross faced a judge last Thursday, and
- 13:53Speaker 1: luck was on her side. She escaped the sixty day
- 13:57Speaker 1: jail sentence prosecutors were hoping for. Instead, she's walking away
- 14:02Speaker 1: with a year of probation, random drug tests, and fifty
- 14:06Speaker 1: hours of community service. Sophia is beyond grateful to have
- 14:13Speaker 1: avoided jail time, according to her representative, and is relieved
- 14:16Speaker 1: to be able to put it all behind her, calling
- 14:18Speaker 1: the whole situation super stressful. It's just really really dumb,
- 14:28Speaker 1: and it's about to get just a little bit dumber
- 14:30Speaker 1: here because here she is talking to TMZ a short
- 14:34Speaker 1: you know, a little while back about the arrest.
- 14:38Speaker 6: I can really say is that.
- 14:43Speaker 13: I really want people to learn from my mistake. I
- 14:48Speaker 13: do have a lot of people, you know, reiterating the
- 14:52Speaker 13: fact that it.
- 14:53Speaker 6: Was a stupid decision. It was a poor choice.
- 14:58Speaker 13: But I think it's really important to you know, I've
- 15:02Speaker 13: been trying to stay positive. I think it's important to
- 15:04Speaker 13: stay positive about the entire thing. And you know, I
- 15:08Speaker 13: do have a really good support system, friends and family,
- 15:12Speaker 13: everybody just kind of telling me to use this opportunity
- 15:16Speaker 13: to send a positive message out there. Like uh, I
- 15:21Speaker 13: was dealing with a lot of mental health issues led
- 15:24Speaker 13: me to spot. You know, inspiraling doesn't always look like,
- 15:28Speaker 13: you know, hiding out in your room and being depressed,
- 15:30Speaker 13: and you know, sometimes it looks like being a party
- 15:33Speaker 13: girl and having the time of your life.
- 15:35Speaker 1: And you know, and offering arresting police officers. I am
- 15:43Speaker 1: so sick. I am so sick of people using their
- 15:49Speaker 1: behavior as an excuse or using mental health as an
- 15:52Speaker 1: excuse for their behavior. That's what it is. I'm sick
- 15:55Speaker 1: of people using mental health as an excuse for their
- 15:58Speaker 1: poor behavior. Just stop it. It stop. It delegitimizes people
- 16:03Speaker 1: with actual, real problems, right, sometimes you just stop.
- 16:12Speaker 4: That horror.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Yeah, sometimes you're just that's okay, that's okay. And based
- 16:26Speaker 1: on that, I want to show you real quick how
- 16:29Speaker 1: much restraint this officer had, because not only did he
- 16:32Speaker 1: have show restraint in the interaction with young Sophia there
- 16:36Speaker 1: in the traffic stop, the suspicion of a duy. But
- 16:40Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys have seen photos of
- 16:42Speaker 1: her during the day, But I don't know, if you
- 16:45Speaker 1: were her arresting officer, if you be able to deny
- 16:50Speaker 1: her advances. Hello, okay, now, if she just crazy yeah,
- 17:00Speaker 1: and calling you Daddy Tree.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Yes, please.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Trey's moving to Sarasota and stopping by Costume World to
- 17:13Speaker 3: pick up a police officer's outfit.

- 18:02Speaker 1: Ros Sharma, and Jerry called well back with you inside
- 18:04Speaker 1: the Treehouse, Tray, I'd like to personally thank you for
- 18:09Speaker 1: waiting until after the show is over to make your
- 18:13Speaker 1: love quest to Florida to try to woo Hooter's waitress,
- 18:19Speaker 1: Sofia Ross. Now that you know that she's not going
- 18:22Speaker 1: to have to spend any time in jail from her
- 18:25Speaker 1: arrest on Duy, I must say, though, briefly, that I'm
- 18:31Speaker 1: really disappointed in our judicial system that they did not
- 18:34Speaker 1: give Sophia Ross any jail time for this duy because
- 18:38Speaker 1: I was really looking forward to the chained heat reboot.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I felt like it was really coming together and now
- 18:49Speaker 1: it's just left scissored all over the floor.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Thank you, well done it, well done it. I'm not
- 19:02Speaker 3: I'm just saying my theory is from the no jail time,
- 19:05Speaker 3: is it? If she was willing to do that for
- 19:07Speaker 3: the officer, what was she willing to do for the judge?
- 19:09Speaker 1: Oh that's a good point. So, Trey, when you're on
- 19:11Speaker 1: your road trip to Florida, maybe instead of a police
- 19:14Speaker 1: officer's costume, you should just pick up a black robe.
- 19:18Speaker 4: Bang the gabble.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Is that what you call it?
- 19:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll sit on your duck at any day.
- 19:29Speaker 5: This really and I probably should keep this to myself,
- 19:31Speaker 5: But you want to talk about a chance channel, you
- 19:34Speaker 5: could start with that video the downside of body cams.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Yeah, this interaction between the Hooters waitress and the police
- 19:45Speaker 1: officer might go very differently if this is the nineties
- 19:48Speaker 1: and there's no body camp.
- 19:51Speaker 3: So you showed us the pictures, I would have quit
- 19:52Speaker 3: the force right then.
- 19:55Speaker 1: And you would have let and you would have called
- 19:57Speaker 1: her daddy.
- 20:04Speaker 3: And also if that was a guy doing that, like
- 20:07Speaker 3: it was me, a brown guy, would be like turn
- 20:09Speaker 3: off the lights of Daddy. They would be whooping my ass.
- 20:18Speaker 1: The good news is for the officers there'd be no
- 20:20Speaker 1: body camp footage because the batteries would have run out
- 20:22Speaker 1: because they'd still be beating you. They just would have
- 20:27Speaker 1: never stopped. All the footage would be gone.
- 20:30Speaker 2: They would have like.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Thet the iCloud stuff completely gone. You're still there.
- 20:38Speaker 5: That would have been multi jurisdictional called them the county sheriffs.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Have been a joint task for.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Why is the Coast Guard here.
- 20:52Speaker 11: The U. S a I.
- 20:52Speaker 1: D Shows up with sticks?
- 20:56Speaker 2: Is that the DMV.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Everyone would the piece what happened here? This guy called
- 21:02Speaker 1: me daddy? Oh that we can't have that?
- 21:05Speaker 4: No way looks like the scene not an airplane.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Last guy's mall security Paul Blart even wants some.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Runever you on the with the segu.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Oh god, it really is just stunning. Yeah, I wanna,
- 21:30Speaker 1: I wanta, I gotta hear this again the original. This
- 21:33Speaker 1: is going back to the original video Sophia Ross, the
- 21:36Speaker 1: Hooters waitress getting pulled over in Sarasota, Florida. In Sarasota,
- 21:40Speaker 1: Florida for a d U I escaping jail time.
- 21:44Speaker 6: Right there, he bro, I got a.
- 21:54Speaker 1: It is interesting how quickly she goes from seeing this
- 21:57Speaker 1: officer as bro to daddy.
- 22:01Speaker 6: Okay, do you want to try this first exercise for me?
- 22:05Speaker 12: I will do anything for you, daddy.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Damn mmm.
- 22:11Speaker 3: You know.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Right then he is looking on that Bodykip, where's the
- 22:14Speaker 1: off where's the off one?
- 22:21Speaker 3: And it's Florida. They go from bro to daddy very quickly.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Well, well well done there, Well well done, Rash, thank
- 22:35Speaker 1: you very much.

- 23:33Speaker 1: That's Treehouse on Air dot com. RAJ, what was it
- 23:37Speaker 1: you're asking Trey in the break?
- 23:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I just wanted to know you like crazy, And
- 23:41Speaker 3: she was going to go to jail, but she avoided
- 23:43Speaker 3: jail time. Does that lessen the attraction. No, it's just
- 23:47Speaker 3: a matter of time.
- 23:52Speaker 1: So the Hooters waitress that avoids jail time, even though
- 23:56Speaker 1: her for now, for now, even though even though her
- 23:59Speaker 1: in her action with the police officer who arrested her
- 24:02Speaker 1: for a duy when viral, you think it's only a
- 24:05Speaker 1: matter of time before she ends up in jail.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Oh, she'll be back.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Yeah at that point, do you just wait outside the
- 24:15Speaker 1: prison for her.
- 24:17Speaker 11: That?
- 24:17Speaker 5: Yeah, well, you know, depends how long sentences. But the
- 24:22Speaker 5: flip side of her in that scenario is that's the
- 24:25Speaker 5: chick that is going to be climbing on top of
- 24:27Speaker 5: a pickup truck, banging in the windshield in because because
- 24:33Speaker 5: she's jealous of her man doing something.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're jealous of the pickup truck because you
- 24:41Speaker 1: would give anything for her to foot stomp you. She
- 24:45Speaker 1: already has right in your heart halfway across the country.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I have I have, I have hope for you, Trey.
- 24:54Speaker 1: If nothing else, I think this show will find you
- 24:59Speaker 1: your mat of which there seemed to be a good number.
- 25:02Speaker 11: Of them.
- 25:05Speaker 2: In the wrong state.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah, really, you really really are all right. We'll try
- 25:11Speaker 1: to switch gears here as best as possible, but when
- 25:14Speaker 1: I read this headline, I'm not sure if we're gonna
- 25:16Speaker 1: switch very far. Okay, here we go. A woman filled
- 25:25Speaker 1: her ex's gas tank with pre sucked skittles.
- 25:29Speaker 11: I have.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Never wanted the word skittles to be replaced by something
- 25:36Speaker 1: else more in my life. But that's that's that's the
- 25:40Speaker 1: dilima we face here. There is a report online claiming
- 25:44Speaker 1: that a young woman was arrested after she got caught
- 25:47Speaker 1: filling up her ex boyfriend's gas tank with coke zero
- 25:51Speaker 1: and pre sucked skittles.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I put some effort into that.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's the whole uh pokementos thing I think
- 26:07Speaker 3: is what she was trying to alish?
- 26:08Speaker 1: Is that what she was trying to do?
- 26:10Speaker 6: What?
- 26:10Speaker 5: What's a pre sucked skittle? She's just spitting them out
- 26:15Speaker 5: of her mouth into the gas tank.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I yeah, I guess.
- 26:19Speaker 4: I mean that's impressive, right.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I mean, she doesn't have to do that. The gasoline's
- 26:25Speaker 2: gonna melt the skittles.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Well, I don't think we're dealing with a a scientist here, Jerry.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I think I think we're dealing with more of an
- 26:35Speaker 1: artist that Drey may be falling in love with.
- 26:38Speaker 5: Did she not understand how siphoning works, and she was
- 26:41Speaker 5: blowing back into it.
- 26:46Speaker 1: She gets confused. Uh, she apparently had the sucking part down.
- 26:53Speaker 2: I don't know where the disconnect.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Was, so uh she uh so. Yeah, So she was
- 26:59Speaker 1: arrested after she got filling up her ex boyfriend's gas
- 27:02Speaker 1: tank with coke zero and pre sucked skittles. Assuming, like
- 27:06Speaker 1: you said, Raj, maybe she was trying for a diet
- 27:09Speaker 1: coke or coke and mentos like explosion. Anyway, there were
- 27:13Speaker 1: a number of questions about this story, part of which
- 27:15Speaker 1: is how it was discovered that the skittles were pre sucked.
- 27:24Speaker 10: Uh.
- 27:25Speaker 1: We don't have a name for the woman, the location
- 27:27Speaker 1: where this happened, or any information from an actual police department.
- 27:30Speaker 1: So we're trying to take this story with a grain
- 27:34Speaker 1: of salt as much as as much as we can.
- 27:38Speaker 1: But the way things that but the way that things
- 27:41Speaker 1: happen these days, nothing surprises me. I mean, even the
- 27:45Speaker 1: onion has difficulty parodying today's news culture.
- 27:50Speaker 3: M yeah, I think she was going for the I've
- 27:53Speaker 3: seen them on TikTok and Instagram where people are pouring
- 27:56Speaker 3: them mentos and then even the skittles if it does melt,
- 27:59Speaker 3: it will turn into show her and that can mess
- 28:00Speaker 3: up the engine.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Correctly, why a coke zero so sugar?
- 28:07Speaker 4: That?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Yeah, the car takes on leaded right, I don't.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Is hybrid.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Now I think we're understanding her train of thought.
- 28:26Speaker 3: She got the coke zero, sucked on some skittles, put
- 28:29Speaker 3: them in the gas tank, and then went to work
- 28:31Speaker 3: at Hooters.
- 28:31Speaker 2: So that's.
- 28:36Speaker 1: And it's not. As a food scientist, you're in the Treehouse.

- 29:53Speaker 2: There you go.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Raj February twenty first twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate with
- 29:59Speaker 1: some birthday show turning twenty nine today. Sophie Turner. Sophie
- 30:07Speaker 1: Turner is twenty nine today, best known as Sansus Stark
- 30:11Speaker 1: on Game of Thrones. She's also known as Jane Gray
- 30:16Speaker 1: in X Men Apocalypse and X Men Dark Phoenix, one
- 30:19Speaker 1: of the worst comic book movies ever, according to many people.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I am proud to say, as many horrible, bad, no
- 30:27Speaker 1: good movies I have seen, I have not subjected myself
- 30:30Speaker 1: to X Men Dark Phoenix and how it was that
- 30:34Speaker 1: because the consensus everywhere you see but even Trey's reaction
- 30:38Speaker 1: just then was at so like Trey saw it, but
- 30:40Speaker 1: I didn't. I like to discover bad movies on my own.
- 30:44Speaker 1: If I hear that the movie's bad, I'm not going
- 30:47Speaker 1: to have any interest in it. I need to discover
- 30:49Speaker 1: it for myself. I'm not going to explore.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Well then that X Men Origins Wolverine is a good one.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I have seen that one.
- 30:59Speaker 5: It's not nothing nothing, I mean not even the Fantastic
- 31:02Speaker 5: Four movies were as bad as Dark Phoenix.
- 31:07Speaker 3: And that's about ten minutes of Dark Phoenix, and that's
- 31:09Speaker 3: when I turned it off.
- 31:10Speaker 4: That's it's Is it really that bad? It is truly awful.
- 31:16Speaker 1: I wasn't even a big fan of the X Men
- 31:19Speaker 1: Apocalypse movie. I watched it because I was excited for
- 31:22Speaker 1: it to come out. Like a lot of the comic
- 31:24Speaker 1: book movies, I was excited for it to come out
- 31:26Speaker 1: and I wanted to like it, and it was just like.
- 31:32Speaker 3: That.
- 31:32Speaker 5: That's just one of those you just scratch your head
- 31:37Speaker 5: at how they they made that and thought this is
- 31:41Speaker 5: worthy of the X Men franchise. It's I can't think.
- 31:48Speaker 5: I mean, Howard the Duck was a better movie.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Wow, you know, I'm I'm I'm curious.
- 31:57Speaker 4: I'm going to admittedly I kind of liked how the Duck.
- 32:01Speaker 1: How I loved Howard the Duck. But it was also
- 32:05Speaker 1: eighty eight when it came out.
- 32:08Speaker 3: I mean the Hulk movies were, you know, all of them. Yeah,
- 32:15Speaker 3: Howard the Duck. The suit was made out of actual
- 32:17Speaker 3: duck feathers, and I think it was a million dollars
- 32:19Speaker 3: just for the the actual suit that he wore.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Wow.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like the one of the highest budget
- 32:27Speaker 3: films at that time, just because of the cast and
- 32:29Speaker 3: then all the stuff that they had to do for it.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I'm with you, Drey. Now, when Howard the Duck came out,
- 32:37Speaker 1: I was a kid. I mean it was. I was
- 32:39Speaker 1: off by a couple of years. Howard the Duck came
- 32:41Speaker 1: out in nineteen eighty six, so I was six seven
- 32:46Speaker 1: years old when that movie came out. So yeah, I
- 32:48Speaker 1: really liked it. Plus I had some interesting feelings going
- 32:53Speaker 1: on when there was the sex scene between Howard the
- 32:57Speaker 1: Duck and Leah Thompson. Yeah, not because of the duck,
- 33:00Speaker 1: but because Lea Thompson in your underwear.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I think I was twelve, and I found the Feathery
- 33:07Speaker 2: Duck movies also very exciting. Of course you did, Okay, twelve.
- 33:14Speaker 1: All right, so here we go. Rotten Tomatoes, Dark Phoenix.
- 33:17Speaker 10: Uh.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Tomato meter is twenty two percent, a popcorn meter of
- 33:21Speaker 1: sixty four. I'm not sure what that combo means, Like
- 33:25Speaker 1: when you put the two together.
- 33:26Speaker 4: The popcorn is including the fan feedback.
- 33:29Speaker 1: All right, so the tomato meter is just critics, I think.
- 33:32Speaker 1: So yeah, all right, all right, so let's go with
- 33:36Speaker 1: the popcorn meter. Do you think Dark Phoenix is higher
- 33:42Speaker 1: or Howard the Duck. I have not looked yet, all
- 33:44Speaker 1: I said, Howard, Are you said.
- 33:45Speaker 4: Dark Phoenix was sixty four percent.
- 33:47Speaker 1: The popcorn meter for Dark Phoenix on Rotten Tomatoes is
- 33:50Speaker 1: sixty four percent. Do you think that's higher or lower
- 33:55Speaker 1: than Howard the Duck higher? Higher?
- 33:58Speaker 3: RAJ one dollar.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it's probably higher. Yeah, I think Howard the Duck
- 34:06Speaker 2: is higher. Popcorn meter me.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Wow, Howard the Duck thirty eight percent on Rotten Tomatoes
- 34:15Speaker 1: the popcorn meter. Yeah, the tomato meter, the critics have
- 34:20Speaker 1: it at thirteen.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Ooh wow.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Okay, see now I need to go back now now
- 34:25Speaker 1: I'm kind of wondering if I need to go back
- 34:27Speaker 1: and rewatch Howard the Duck to get a true feel.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Is it that bad? Is it as bad as it's
- 34:32Speaker 1: Rotten Tomatoes? Score versions of Dark phoenixes the.
- 34:36Speaker 5: Dark Phoenix popcorn meter. It just shows you you cannot
- 34:40Speaker 5: trust people because there are a bunch of dans out
- 34:42Speaker 5: there who think bad movies are good.
- 34:49Speaker 2: You call it the danometer. That's that's not fair.
- 34:53Speaker 3: It's like it's like hookers have John's and bad movies
- 34:56Speaker 3: have dance.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Yet I'm the one running free.
- 35:15Speaker 9: You're listening to the tree House.

- 36:29Speaker 1: to happen inside the Treehouse is entirely your fault.
- 36:34Speaker 2: I agree.
- 36:34Speaker 1: I want that on the record and known. It is
- 36:38Speaker 1: entirely your fault. Because you asked about the ending of
- 36:41Speaker 1: Howard the Duck and whether or not there was a
- 36:45Speaker 1: song with a band at the end of the movie
- 36:47Speaker 1: from nineteen eighty six.
- 36:49Speaker 3: Right, yeah, so they were trying to get on in
- 36:52Speaker 3: rotation on radio stations.
- 36:54Speaker 1: M I don't know if that's accurate, but I did
- 36:58Speaker 1: a little digging during the break and it wasn't hard.
- 37:02Speaker 1: We now have the Howard the Duck ending song here
- 37:06Speaker 1: inside the Treehouse, Howard the Duck hugging young Leah Thompson
- 37:10Speaker 1: after just smiting the cruel beast sent to kill him
- 37:13Speaker 1: bulls didn't I Oh my god, that's Tim Robbins.
- 37:18Speaker 6: Oh it is.
- 37:20Speaker 1: I forgot This movie had some serious credibility as far
- 37:24Speaker 1: as cast Leah Thompson. Tim Robbins right there, My goodness,
- 37:28Speaker 1: did Tim Robbins have any credibility? In eighty six he
- 37:31Speaker 1: was in the same year Tray. In nineteen eighty six,
- 37:35Speaker 1: Tim Robbins was in a little film called Top Gun
- 37:38Speaker 1: where he played Merlin.
- 37:41Speaker 4: He was a minor.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Still it was an up and coming star.
- 37:46Speaker 4: Bull Durham I think Phil I feel like launched Tim Robbins.
- 37:49Speaker 1: It did, and I think Bull Durham came out eight
- 37:53Speaker 1: seven eighty sevens somewhere in there around the same time. Look,
- 37:57Speaker 1: the producers of Bull Durham saw how good Tim Robbins was.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Listen Howard the Duck and they said, you've you've got
- 38:03Speaker 1: to be in our picture anyway, Here we go the
- 38:05Speaker 1: ending of Howard the Duck from nineteen eighty six.
- 38:09Speaker 6: Coward, It's all right, So it's.
- 38:18Speaker 11: Here we go. You're right right.
- 38:23Speaker 1: This is the band the song of the.
- 38:32Speaker 14: Scott scritchwhere sell he ain't Thomas all.
- 38:51Speaker 15: John ceiling, Holly Robinson?
- 39:10Speaker 1: What's that tray?
- 39:11Speaker 4: That was Holly Robinson?
- 39:14Speaker 1: Really yeah, before she was Holly Robinson Pete Yeah, wow,
- 39:19Speaker 1: see this movie star studded. Also, I gotta admit this
- 39:22Speaker 1: song is pretty catchy.
- 39:23Speaker 4: It was written by Thomas.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Dolby, wasn't really Yeah, look at all this, Look at
- 39:28Speaker 1: all these little nuggets of information were being exposed to
- 39:31Speaker 1: just by going back and enjoying the ending. Once again,
- 39:37Speaker 1: this is entirely your fault.
- 39:39Speaker 5: You know what would be the koude gras of this
- 39:42Speaker 5: segment because it gets flagged for copy righten.
- 39:50Speaker 3: This movie is so bad even then they're like, now
- 39:52Speaker 3: we're good, you can pay.
- 39:53Speaker 11: They could have it.
- 40:06Speaker 12: Ceiling.
- 40:15Speaker 4: You don't feel it.
- 40:21Speaker 5: By the way, that is that is Lea Thompson uhl singing.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Good on her showing some serious pipes right there. Speaking
- 40:30Speaker 1: of serious pipes, that movie had a sex scene with
- 40:32Speaker 1: Howard the Duck and Thompson.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 40:35Speaker 1: So I mean they missed an opportunity there for for
- 40:38Speaker 1: the ending song. I mean, it could have just been
- 40:40Speaker 1: simply ducks. Something tells me the Rotten Tomatoes score would
- 40:50Speaker 1: have been a lot higher. I can say with the
- 40:58Speaker 1: utmost certainty that in over twenty five years of radio
- 41:03Speaker 1: broadcast experience, I have never watched that much Howard the
- 41:08Speaker 1: Duck on the air, and it's all Rash's fault. I
- 41:13Speaker 1: also feel like we've been missing out until now. For
