- 0:08Speaker 1: I think it's a little too much Mark, if you
- 0:09Speaker 1: asked me. But anyway, we'll take some calls. Eight hundred
- 0:12Speaker 1: three two one zero seven ten is and I'm let's
- 0:15Speaker 1: go to Tom and Newershelle. Tom, how you doing?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Hey?
- 0:19Speaker 3: Mark?
- 0:20Speaker 4: Very well, thank you for taking my call. I'm calling
- 0:23Speaker 4: about the excitement and romance of New York City. Yes,
- 0:27Speaker 4: I've been a New York City tour guide for the
- 0:30Speaker 4: last twenty years. Licensed tour guide, private tours, public tours,
- 0:33Speaker 4: bus stores, you name it.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Are you on one of those double decker buses I
- 0:39Speaker 1: used to be.
- 0:40Speaker 4: I started out the twenty years ago. That's a baptism
- 0:43Speaker 4: by fire. So I'm finished with that. So I do
- 0:48Speaker 4: private tours and visiting buses.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And what's the most popular thing that for these yokels?
- 0:53Speaker 1: I mean, these were lovely people that you share.
- 0:55Speaker 4: The most popular thing is not the history of New York,
- 1:00Speaker 4: not the architecture. It is pop culture. If I point
- 1:04Speaker 4: out the Plaza Hotel and talk about the Astra family
- 1:08Speaker 4: in nineteen oh seven and all of that, people are
- 1:12Speaker 4: not interested. But if I say home alone too. The
- 1:14Speaker 4: cameras come out, they take the picture. It's the same everywhere.
- 1:19Speaker 4: So film and television are the best things for promoting
- 1:24Speaker 4: New York to vision.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'll give us some other big TV movie locations in
- 1:29Speaker 1: New York.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Oh, oh, Greenwich Village, the Friends Cafe in Greenwich Village.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Right now there are people taking pictures here. I'm not there,
- 1:38Speaker 4: I'm in the Rochelle. But right now there are people
- 1:40Speaker 4: taking pictures at the Friend's Cafe, which is not Central
- 1:45Speaker 4: Perk but the Little Howl of restaurant. And just a
- 1:48Speaker 4: couple of blocks away Carrie Bradshaw's Brownstone. There are women
- 1:52Speaker 4: taking pictures there right now. And apart from that, also
- 1:58Speaker 4: the Wall Street Bull's extremely popular. Both ends of the bowl,
- 2:04Speaker 4: the front and the packed people take pictures. And and
- 2:08Speaker 4: the only the other thing I was just going to
- 2:11Speaker 4: say about tourism and travel in New York. Uh, But
- 2:15Speaker 4: is I now see New York to the eyes of visitors.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I don't see you through my old, tired New York eyes.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:23Speaker 1: So that's a good point. We don't appreciate all this stuff.
- 2:26Speaker 1: But you see, you would have thought that years ago.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I want to see Teddy Roosevelt House now we want
- 2:30Speaker 1: to see Kerry Bradshaw's house. So everything is everything has changed?
- 2:34Speaker 1: Well interesting time is the truth? Interesting eyes.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I see it through fresh eyes and it's made all
- 2:41Speaker 4: the difference.
- 2:42Speaker 1: We have such a if I went to Newer Shelle,
- 2:45Speaker 1: what would you show me there? What's the big sights
- 2:47Speaker 1: in the.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Hmm?
- 2:51Speaker 1: You got a Trump Tower in New Rochelle? You got
- 2:53Speaker 1: a yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a lot of there's a skyline now.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you got a skyline, uh yeah, Exit sixteen.
- 3:01Speaker 4: There, Yeah, the shore, the shoreline of the.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Hey, you got that old, that old Glen Island casino
- 3:10Speaker 1: that's still there. That was quite the Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 1: all right, Tom, great call, thanks for calling. Let's go
- 3:16Speaker 1: to Tom in Pennsylvania. Tom. How you doing?
- 3:20Speaker 3: Hey, Mark, I love the three hours. Listen to me.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Around forty years ago, I was in Central Park and
- 3:26Speaker 3: Tavn on the green h huh, and the horse and
- 3:29Speaker 3: buggies that were going through there. You had punks setting
- 3:32Speaker 3: off bottle rockets and fireworks at the horses and the
- 3:36Speaker 3: people and the buggies. And the guy who's driving the
- 3:40Speaker 3: damn horse and buggy he was tearing through there. That
- 3:43Speaker 3: must have been a ride through hell. I don't understand
- 3:47Speaker 3: anybody doing that. I'm not sure if it's like that today.
- 3:50Speaker 1: No, it's nice now. You know, people don't realize we
- 3:52Speaker 1: got a little crime here and they're not much. But
- 3:53Speaker 1: people don't realize their crime was far worse than the
- 3:56Speaker 1: nineteen eighties, much worse back.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Then it was, and that's probably one of the reason.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And what were you doing in tavern On the Green?
- 4:04Speaker 1: You went in there to use the restroom? Is that it?
- 4:06Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, I had Well.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I actually spent some money.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Good for you, and you know I'm not rich, but
- 4:12Speaker 3: I had to do it for a wife, and you know,
- 4:14Speaker 3: you know how that works.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Well, tavern On the Green was so beautiful, But weren't
- 4:18Speaker 1: you surprised to how mediocre the food was?
- 4:21Speaker 3: That is absolutely correct. It was way overrated, way overrated.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but it was beautiful. Thanks for calling Tom. You
- 4:27Speaker 1: got to remember, uh, tavern On the Green was quite
- 4:30Speaker 1: the tourist destination. And if you're a tourist destination, the
- 4:35Speaker 1: food doesn't have to be so great. Nobody's coming back.
- 4:37Speaker 1: The tourists. They come once every few years. And if
- 4:40Speaker 1: you're trying to be a local, neighborhood restaurant, better be good,
- 4:42Speaker 1: otherwise nobody's coming back. Let's go to Dan and Queen's Dan.
- 4:46Speaker 1: How you doing good?
- 4:49Speaker 4: Mark? I was on the Lexington and thirty third Street
- 4:52Speaker 4: stopped yesterday. I'm always on the Subway's eighty two year
- 4:55Speaker 4: old guy. Those subway steps keep me alive. But I
- 4:58Speaker 4: noticed they put up new gates. They're plastic. They open
- 5:02Speaker 4: up like a door. Yeah, pretty much from the top
- 5:06Speaker 4: to the bottom, and possible to jump over. I couldn't resist.
- 5:10Speaker 4: They asked the clerks, the subway token clerks, if they're working.
- 5:13Speaker 4: They laughed, and they said, where there's a will, there's
- 5:16Speaker 4: a way.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Yeah, people still get over them. You know, this turnstile jumping,
- 5:21Speaker 1: you can stop it in about two weeks, just to
- 5:23Speaker 1: arrest them all and then that's the end of it.
- 5:25Speaker 1: You know, they proved that the NYPD back when Rudy
- 5:29Speaker 1: came in. They just started arresting them all. Just prosecute me. Well,
- 5:31Speaker 1: it gets around real fast that you're going to get arrested,
- 5:34Speaker 1: and they stop doing it. It's that simple. You know,
- 5:37Speaker 1: you can build gates, you can build walls. You just
- 5:39Speaker 1: put some cops down there and start arresting them. Let's
- 5:41Speaker 1: go to Pete and Queen's Pete.
- 5:43Speaker 2: How you doing, Mark, good morning? A couple of points
- 5:48Speaker 2: about them mayor the Staten Island thing where he was
- 5:52Speaker 2: being booed and everything. Yeah, he did that deliberately, in
- 5:55Speaker 2: my opinion, Mark, to mock, to mock them, you know,
- 5:58Speaker 2: just basically show them on here and I'm gonna get
- 6:01Speaker 2: in your face and I'm gonna actually laugh in it.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Well, yeah, except thirty seconds into it he went running
- 6:06Speaker 1: off the stage. So they did chase him away.
- 6:09Speaker 2: True, but I mean that thirty seconds I'm sure went
- 6:12Speaker 2: a long way with his crowd. But the nine to
- 6:14Speaker 2: eleven thing, in my opinion, he knows exactly what he's doing.
- 6:18Speaker 2: He's trying to establish control and dominance, and he will
- 6:22Speaker 2: show up and even if it is for a few minutes,
- 6:24Speaker 2: that's what he's gonna probably hope to achieve, and unfortunately
- 6:27Speaker 2: he just may achieve it.
- 6:29Speaker 1: All right, you may be right, Thanks for calling you.
- 6:31Speaker 1: He went to appear in statn Islant, this police event.
- 6:33Speaker 1: They boot him off the stage. Listen my day, they
- 6:42Speaker 1: boot him off the stage. He had to flee. He
- 6:44Speaker 1: left the Staten Island. Good for you. You're not gonna get
- 6:49Speaker 1: speed cameras on every corner. As a results, you're going
- 6:51Speaker 1: to get red light cameras everywhere, and he's going to
- 6:56Speaker 1: increase tolls everywhere. You're gonna get congestion pricing. He'll get back. No,
- 7:00Speaker 1: I don't think I'll be able to do that, but
- 7:02Speaker 1: but good for you booing them off the stage. Hey,
- 7:05Speaker 1: the new job numbers came out. They were a lot
- 7:07Speaker 1: lower than expected. What the hell's happening. We'll talk to
- 7:10Speaker 1: the smartest guy on the subject, John Carney. Brilliant guy
- 7:15Speaker 1: on business in the economy. We'll talk to John Carney.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Breitbart Business Digest coming up next on seven to ten
- 7:23Speaker 1: wor
