- 2:17butcher it, but I'm going to bring in my boy James and this
- 2:20is my first International guest. Well half International guests,
- 2:25half Hometown hero but we'll get into that as well but let's have
- 2:29some fun here. What's going on bud?
- 2:32Hey man. Let's go.
- 2:34What is your? How do you pronounce your last
- 2:35name? Catch Lasky.
- 2:38It's what a difficult one. Yeah, it's like a punch, your
- 2:41keyboard for x and then yeah, yeah.
- 2:44Hey Mom. Yeah, when I was a kid, it was
- 2:46horrible. Like you imagine having to spell
- 2:48that out like when you're like in kindergarten like it.
- 2:51Yeah, it's just I have pets. Just like it's goes on the
- 2:55diagonal. It's just such a difficult name.
- 2:58Yeah, couldn't have been easy. So here, but this is, this is
- 3:00such a fun conversation in a fun podcast to do because We've
- 3:04known each other for a little bit of time and through friends
- 3:08and through the, you know, the scene and everything like that.
- 3:11Yeah. Used to be a dirty school.
- 3:13Like the rest of us, I feel like it's still in your heart and
- 3:15soul and then you moved and we haven't talked for a while and
- 3:19then we had a conversation and now you have an English accent.
- 3:22It's crazy. Yeah, I've relocated just a
- 3:28small trip over to the United Kingdom, you know, just Skip Hop
- 3:32and a jump across the The giant ocean.
- 3:36Yeah, so just kind of crazy. It's just a crazy thing.
- 3:40Like I lived in the scoop for about eight years originally
- 3:43from Shamokin Pennsylvania. So still coal region born and
- 3:47bred through and through. But yes, I ended up uprooting my
- 3:52entire life and moving across the pond to the UK with by wire
- 3:56in the UK. Are you?
- 3:58Hmm, we're in the UK, are you? So it's called Lee.
- 4:04So it's like 40 minutes, south of London.
- 4:08So okay, it's like South, South East England, I think.
- 4:13Okay. Yes.
- 4:15Tires just, I mean compared to where we're from.
- 4:17I mean, I live in a big city. It's crazy like it's absolutely
- 4:23like it's such a culture shock. I thought I was going to move
- 4:25over here and it was just gonna be so easy.
- 4:27I've struggled the first two years I was here.
- 4:29It will always have rest, it was a tough move, everything's
- 4:33different Current. The language is different, it's
- 4:36just all of it, the food's different, all everything.
- 4:40However, on the other side of the road is the food awful.
- 4:43Don't ya? Hundred percent hate it.
- 4:48But I imagine that's because the United States government.
- 4:51Probably pumped me, full of all type of fake flavors and, you
- 4:55know, riboflavin and all kind of weird shit that like that, you
- 5:00know, nobody else in the world uses, but America's like, yeah,
- 5:02we're cool with that. Yeah, it causes 800 but like
- 5:05baby can nobody wants to live here that long anyway so
- 5:08cancers. Yeah probably need.
- 5:09Yeah. You guys are like man if I could
- 5:11just get involved in like school shooting or cancer, I mean,
- 5:14that'd be great. Yeah, that's probably used ago
- 5:17mass shooting our cancer is probably your to outside America
- 5:20right now, you know. Yeah.
- 5:21Yeah. I heard mommy at her school.
- 5:22Shootings are on the rise man. That's like what people ask me.
- 5:26Like top top question. Oh, you're from America school
- 5:30shootings? And yeah.
- 5:32Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:34Largest mass shootings in general just guns.
- 5:35There's guns everywhere. But yeah.
- 5:38People like over here. They're like so your police
- 5:41carry guns. I was oh yeah they shoot people
- 5:43all the time all the time not over here, they have to stick
- 5:49they carry around with them. The only thing is where there's
- 5:52like stabbings are higher, right?
- 5:54Like people are getting oh yeah. Yeah.
- 5:56Yeah I'd rather get shot hundred percent.
- 5:59Yeah, 100% shot. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:01Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:02Yeah, stabbing is so personal. It's like it's like getting
- 6:06punched in the face, like it's very violent.
- 6:08It's not, does a lot of damage, like, more than was in a bullet.
- 6:12Sometimes listen, I've seen videos of like, like these gangs
- 6:17up in London and like, dude has like a machete.
- 6:21And like I'm not sounds like I'm changing just like, I'm going
- 6:25through and like chops, this guy in like the chest and I was
- 6:29like, Yeah, yeah, shit happens. Yeah, it's crazy.
- 6:32That wild you know that England trip was looking cool but now
- 6:36I'm terrified, I'm not coming but real quick.
- 6:39Another thing I want to ask there before we get into this
- 6:41because you know we're going to go on these podcasts like
- 6:44Tarantino movies. We just kind of jump all over
- 6:46the place and then find our way back to the original Point,
- 6:49okay? But amazing.
- 6:51Yeah like in England there's Transportation everywhere.
- 6:54You can get on a train you can get at least a new burger like
- 6:56they're like from what I'm gathering.
- 6:58Like you can just get in a train and be like, hey I'm going
- 7:00Liverpool for the day. And I'll be there in three hours
- 7:03or I can get a train and being Paris and two two and a half.
- 7:06I mean, yeah. I mean technically yeah like I'm
- 7:10but I think like to go to like Liverpool I think it's more
- 7:14maybe more than two hours but like two, three or four hours, I
- 7:17just like more hour train ride. Yeah, I just took I just took
- 7:21the Eurostar to Disney Paris with my wife and kids and it was
- 7:26like and your arms like a day trip, right?
- 7:28Yeah. It was like two hours you were
- 7:29there on two out. Rising then yeah it's not
- 7:33mentally. Yes crazy.
- 7:35Like next thing you know like you're in Central Europe just
- 7:38yeah just there you can take a train and with with like the
- 7:42distance that it would take me to get the Philly.
- 7:44You can go through for State. A country.
- 7:47Is that all speak? A different language?
- 7:49Yeah. What the end up going that you
- 7:57kind of like if you can even take the Eurostar up to like a
- 8:00Damn and stuff. Like it's it's like three hours.
- 8:03Yes, every state. Oh, that's it.
- 8:05Also like if you get, if you just want to fly anywhere, so
- 8:08like I'm in Crawley and Gatwick Airport, London.
- 8:11Gatwick Airport is right. It's five minutes from where we
- 8:16live, but you can get a flight from Gatwick to like Spain for
- 8:20like 40 pounds. That's not how it's that's like
- 8:2550 dollars or something like that.
- 8:28That's not your underwears. You can go to a country, like,
- 8:32we're just tragic. We're trapped, we're trapped in
- 8:34the freest country. A long time.
- 8:37Yeah. But the thing is, like, in
- 8:38America, you have the freedom to delay.
- 8:40If you want to go to a different place that seems like beachy you
- 8:45go to Florida, are you going to South Carolina?
- 8:47Are you got him? But you know what I mean?
- 8:49You like you go to places in the United State, you got to
- 8:51California if you're feeling adventurous, you leave the
- 8:54country and go to Mexico you know but yeah like I don't know.
- 8:58Just weird. I try to figure it out, but I
- 9:00don't really understand it because like, when you grow up
- 9:03there your whole life, like, people are like, well, what do
- 9:06you know? When did you get a passport?
- 9:07And I was like, I don't know. Probably when I was like 27 and
- 9:12I like, 27, I have it. I listen, I have a, I have a
- 9:17nine-month-old that has a passport.
- 9:19Yeah. What do you think?
- 9:21Get them right here. They get them straightaway right
- 9:23here because they're going places.
- 9:25Plus also like in America, like you guys get Like you don't have
- 9:29vacation, you don't have any time to go anywhere.
- 9:31Like they're like, so you going to be at work for the rest of
- 9:34your life until you die occasions like a weekend?
- 9:37Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, like, over here, I have 28
- 9:42days of vacation to take like, straight away.
- 9:47Like that. I signed a contract, I'm
- 9:49employed, and they're like, okay, you have 28 days of
- 9:52holiday to take. When, do you want to take it?
- 9:53No, Mike. I don't know.
- 9:55That's a lot of days. First time I got a chart like we
- 10:00would die on 28 days of holiday. Our vacation, huh?
- 10:05We would do in America if you gave us Twenty Eight Days to go
- 10:08to another place. When know what do you think?
- 10:09I broke our, we would die. You would you use it all in one
- 10:13big clip. He'd be like, fuck it.
- 10:15I'm done. Yellow, bam.
- 10:17Blow it all out, Straight Out The Gate 28 days.
- 10:19I'm coming to work for a month. Fuck off our I'm taking every
- 10:22Monday off for the next 28 one. Yeah yeah until next year guys.
- 10:31Sorry. Yeah, not going to be there.
- 10:32I'm not working. One days ever again ever again.
- 10:35Yeah, it's yeah. Like it was strange.
- 10:37Every football season for every Monday during?
- 10:40Yeah. Well seasoned.
- 10:41Yeah. Every every Monday Night
- 10:42Football game or every Sunday he just take off.
- 10:45Yeah. Yeah.
- 10:46When I, when I first got it and I was just like they were like
- 10:49okay so just let us know when you want to take some days and
- 10:51I'm like, okay. I like came home and like looked
- 10:55at my wife and I was like I have 28 days of holiday.
- 10:57I don't really know what to do and she was like, we just have
- 11:01to take some and I was like when for what seems like, I don't
- 11:06know, will plan something I was like, what?
- 11:10Yeah, shocks all system. So we're here to promote a
- 11:15podcast, you're doing. Yeah, let's let's talk about
- 11:19that a little bit. Yeah, it's a great day to
- 11:21promote for. It's funny, right?
- 11:22Yeah. Podcast, don't do drugs kids,
- 11:27they're bad. I mean, I mean, I'd be one of
- 11:34those people who would get into the argument simply weed is not.
- 11:38I don't, technically, I wouldn't say that's what I'm California.
- 11:44So bright. I mean.
- 11:45Yeah. Yeah.
- 11:48I don't think. I don't know.
- 11:49I don't know. I don't believe it.
- 11:50I just think it's, I've read too much about Anna and stuff, and
- 11:54how it's been. They made it this way.
- 11:56They criminalized it and they made it.
- 11:59So it's like, who marijuana? But, I don't know.
- 12:02I just don't I just don't take someone who really really likes
- 12:06to drink and who used to also like to drink with pain pills
- 12:11Since switching to marijuana. I don't drink as much and I
- 12:15haven't touched a pain pill in about a year or two years.
- 12:18Yeah that's a dangerous life. The live taking yeah drinking
- 12:21and pain pills man. Yeah that's it.
- 12:23Perry played in the big. Yeah there's a lot of lost
- 12:27memories gone on somewhere there where you were like time
- 12:30traveling there. I feel like Marty McFly suck.
- 12:34Sure. How full it you like about four
- 12:36days later. You're like it.
- 12:38Yeah. Past been there.
- 12:42Yeah. So basically I started the
- 12:44addictively speaking podcast just I toyed around with the
- 12:49idea of podcasting for years because I saw you doing it It
- 12:54and I was like, man, how do you even like going to do it?
- 13:00I can do it. Yeah, I know I just I just
- 13:03thought like like I didn't even know where to start.
- 13:06So I just kind of like you know, when you're like afraid to do
- 13:09something you just like I can't I can't do that.
- 13:13That'd be silly nobody'll. Listen it'll be a waste of my
- 13:16time. Like I just, you know, I kept
- 13:18being negative about it. And then finally I just said you
- 13:20know what? I'm just I just want to do it, I
- 13:23just want to do it. I just want to talk about
- 13:26addiction and recovery and how, you know, I've changed my life
- 13:31and like, you can change your life if you're having, if you're
- 13:33struggling with these things, you're struggling with mental
- 13:35health. I mean, there are ways to get
- 13:37help. I mean, all of it, I mean, it
- 13:39encompasses all of it because people that suffer from
- 13:42addiction. Usually have, you know, they
- 13:45suffer from depression and anxiety and some type of other
- 13:49traumas in their life that they've gone through. that they
- 13:52can't really, you know, they haven't found the help for it
- 13:55and they just use Substances to to numb and dull and to take
- 14:01away pain, you know, to fill a void.
- 14:05They fills a void in and I'm very, very happy and proud of
- 14:10where I come from. I love my area.
- 14:12But also this area is a cesspool for addiction.
- 14:18Yeah. Because really like the only
- 14:20thing and this is kind of like I'm not shitting on the area,
- 14:23but there's really nothing for kids to do.
- 14:26And the only thing for kids, Has to do is look up to the adults.
- 14:29And the only thing, the adults, do our go to bars and drink and
- 14:33then go to block parties and everything is based around.
- 14:36Drinking. We will put in 14 new bars
- 14:39before they put in one thing for a kid to do or our business that
- 14:42can have. And if even if you do put in a
- 14:45business it's like well can you drink?
- 14:47You know? I mean like it is a very big
- 14:49part of the culture in our area. Yeah.
- 14:53And I kind of like the only thing kids look forward to as I
- 14:55can't wait to go to a bar. Like, I remember, being a kid
- 14:57being Bro, I can't wait to go to a bar like that.
- 15:00Look at 21. I'm going to bring my life.
- 15:02The instead, the day I was born, and then one, that's it.
- 15:05And then you're like, wait, we can drink now.
- 15:06Just don't get caught, you know? I mean like that it's kind of,
- 15:11that's the, that's the Mind state of this area.
- 15:14Yeah, and I think growing up in that, you know, when I did, you
- 15:21know, when I did start, I did start drinking, I did start
- 15:25drinking young. I think I was like, 13 years
- 15:27old. Old.
- 15:28You know when you experiment you start drinking start stealing
- 15:30stuff from your parents and blah blah blah blah blah.
- 15:32You know you do the whole thing, right?
- 15:34And then as I got older, I had periods where I drank a lot and
- 15:39then I stopped, and then I had a really bad.
- 15:42I had to tragedy. I had a best friend passed away,
- 15:46tragic. I was 21 at the time.
- 15:51I couldn't handle it. I didn't know how to process it.
- 15:53I didn't know how to cope with it.
- 15:54Didn't how to deal with it. I ended up in a deep depression,
- 15:59you know, and I used alcohol to cope.
- 16:04I used it deal with everything I used, and then it just, it just,
- 16:08it just spirals out of control. And then I'm not in control
- 16:12anymore. And I don't have my own
- 16:14thoughts. I don't have my, I just have to,
- 16:16I keep end, I'm in this endless cycle and, and I'm in, I'm in
- 16:20from Oak. And I'm in a region where, you
- 16:24know, nobody looks at what I'm doing.
- 16:26And goes, yeah, he should probably get help or he should
- 16:29he should look to, I mean, sort his life out.
- 16:32Like people were just happy to see you crash and burn because
- 16:36they were basically doing the same thing.
- 16:38I had a party house that everybody came to.
- 16:42I mean I was an absolute Savage, like I was fighting people I've
- 16:48you know, I would just do crazy shit.
- 16:51I'd hop in the car and drive, all right, over a stop sign like
- 16:55to like a block. Like I'm around the corner from
- 16:58the place. I lived, I drove up the street
- 17:01clip, the stop sign, knock, my knock, my mirror off, and then
- 17:05park the car, and then walk drunk all the way to where I
- 17:08needed to go to. But I chose to get in that
- 17:12vehicle and drive which is a crazy because I was like
- 17:14Styrofoam there's no I was in no State.
- 17:16I was not. I was like most people drink and
- 17:20some people like can drink and have a couple and be cool.
- 17:24That's me. I'm a get to Level and then
- 17:27chill the rest of the night. Yeah, you know, you're you know,
- 17:30where you're at, you know, that level.
- 17:32Yeah, I'm the guy who sees that level says fuck that level next
- 17:35level. Then when that next level comes
- 17:37in like next level, then the next level comes and the next
- 17:40level. And then I wake up somewhere.
- 17:43And I don't know how I got there.
- 17:44And I went to the next. I feel like trash.
- 17:46I'm like, I'm never going to that level again.
- 17:49Oh yeah. I wake up the next day and go.
- 17:52Well, that was interesting. I need a drink.
- 17:55Yes. I don't know.
- 17:56I have a really big problem with like, I'm like getting in
- 18:00recovery. I've learned a lot about myself
- 18:03and who I am and the things that work in my mind and I get very
- 18:09obsessive and I kind of, I don't know how to say, I don't know
- 18:13how to do moderation. I don't do it with food.
- 18:15I don't do it with. I struggle with it and
- 18:18everything every aspect of my life, if I have to try to
- 18:20moderate something, I'm either I can either do All of it like at
- 18:26a crazy level or have to do none of it.
- 18:29It's really odd. Casting All or Nothing.
- 18:32Yes asleep. Yeah.
- 18:34But the thing is, like, I get into this and then, I like
- 18:37obsess over things that I'm doing with it and then I'm
- 18:39thinking like I need to be doing this right?
- 18:41And I guess I don't like all that, mess them like be careful
- 18:45like is it is and it's part of my personality.
- 18:48So it's really hard to like I have to fight back these urges
- 18:51to be like fully engulfed in it and I took a lot of He said to
- 18:55heart as well, like, like thought about it.
- 18:56I was like, you know what, he's right, I need to just kind of
- 18:59like relax and stop like fussing over like numbers and viewing
- 19:03all this stuff I had was I had about 300, people send me
- 19:06messages and hearts and hug emojis about me quitting
- 19:09podcasting. There's three people watching
- 19:11right now. You know I'm saying, I'm not
- 19:15trying to be a dick but like everybody wants everybody wants
- 19:19to be there when you're down. But when you're, when you pick
- 19:22yourself up I got three people. A chilling.
- 19:26Yes, I am. Yeah.
- 19:27They're like oh yeah, I want to watch it later.
- 19:29I watch it like yeah, yeah yeah. It's a wonderful thing that I'm
- 20:04doing and I'm trying to help and stuff like that.
- 20:06And that's ultimately the goal is to, you know hopefully share
- 20:10my experiences share some of the things I've learned while I've
- 20:15been in recovery and stuff like that and like just give people
- 20:20hope because a lot of these people like when you're in
- 20:22addiction, you don't have any hope.
- 20:24I mean, I felt like I didn't, I felt like I didn't mean shit to
- 20:27anybody. You know, and you were, I don't
- 20:31know, I don't know the Forefront.
- 20:33I don't want to stay with you or the Forefront but to me you were
- 20:35because you were essentially the person who was pushing the brand
- 20:39the most. So I don't want to give all the
- 20:41credit to you unless you know more about it than I can.
- 20:44But I want to bring it up here. But you started a little bit of
- 20:46a. Are you a part of a program or
- 20:48started? I'm not sure what it was but you
- 20:50were doing a little bit of a podcasting deal.
- 20:52But more or less like speaking out about it recovery and
- 20:55addiction with skoog recovers in the area as well.
- 20:58Yeah, that was like That's where it all kind of really started.
- 21:00Like, I am, I got involved in the skoog recovers because it
- 21:04was local community thing and actually still a thing.
- 21:11I can't get out of the truck. Anyway.
- 21:12I have, no, I don't hear. I don't see anything about it
- 21:14anymore. Yeah, I mean, Trav would get
- 21:19into it and he would just go crazy and do like, a whole bunch
- 21:22of stuff at one time and it was hard to kind of like Get Him
- 21:25focused on one thing. So he kind of like branch Out
- 21:29and do like, a whole bunch of other stuff as well, but the
- 21:32skoog recovers was like the big. That's what we, that's what I
- 21:36said. Because I know Trav for a long
- 21:37time and, you know, we kind of got sober around the same time
- 21:40so he was, like, do you want to come and do the screw cover?
- 21:44I started this thing. Screw covers and honestly, I,
- 21:46yeah, what is it? So then I kind of got involved
- 21:49in that and so we did. A lot of stuff in the Schuylkill
- 21:53County area. We did drug awareness day in
- 21:57Upper Dauphin. I did that twice.
- 21:59I think and then we did another one.
- 22:03I did another school and I can't remember where it was offhand,
- 22:10but we did. We did a lot of.
- 22:12I did a lot of speaking engagements with them, like, you
- 22:14know, just sharing, you know, there's nothing harder than
- 22:17sitting in a room, full of 10th graders thinking, they probably
- 22:21think we're all a bunch of fucking junkie idiot.
- 22:24That's like dickheads, you know? And we, you know, I, but I did
- 22:30it and I loved it, it was great, and he also did a lot of Live
- 22:33streaming. And he did he built a like a
- 22:36studio? He had this.
- 22:37Um, they had this crazy barn out and Higgins.
- 22:41And he turned it into this crazy like multimedia Studio.
- 22:45I had like five screens up and he had all the stuff.
- 22:48It was all it was crazy and we did them.
- 22:51We had a couple podcast there, but yeah, he just he just never
- 22:55like stuck with it and then you know obviously I moved and you
- 23:02know I You know, I don't know what happened really with the
- 23:05scoop recovers, but it was great at the time because they were
- 23:07doing a lot of stuff in the community.
- 23:09They were doing a lot of community cleaning projects,
- 23:11they were doing. I know they did a couple
- 23:15playground refurbishments where I'm in.
- 23:17Travel is very crafty, got all the materials and you know, did
- 23:24the whole thing for the for for the township or whatever it was
- 23:29you would do the whole thing up for him.
- 23:31Paint it. It was amazing.
- 23:34I helped them with a couple of those cleanups.
- 23:36Yeah, I remember you were, you were very good with carrying
- 23:39that brand and making it being seen, I just kind of, you know,
- 23:42I mean I do remember now Travis. I think like, as you were saying
- 23:46him and talking about how am I do, remember seeing him on there
- 23:48a lot too? But yeah, it's, I don't know if
- 23:51it's like maybe just not in my algorithms anymore, or he's
- 23:53still doing it. I have to, I have to do a little
- 23:55bored more research. But do I remember that being a
- 23:57big thing? What was, what was the main like
- 24:02factor or What was the moment where you're like?
- 24:04I need to clean up. I need to figure this out.
- 24:07I need to, I need to stop my processor, or what I'm doing.
- 24:13Yes, like that. That Moment of clarity that
- 24:17moment where I figured it all out.
- 24:19Yeah, so basically our you became self-aware that like this
- 24:24is the steps I'm going to take. So, so I've been I've been I've
- 24:29been living in Pottsville on Montelongo Street.
- 24:33In like a basement apartment. It was horrible.
- 24:35It was like living in hell. It was like it was exactly where
- 24:38you would go. If you were depressed and felt
- 24:40like shit, it was the there was dark all the time.
- 24:42There's like one window and all I could see was this like a part
- 24:48of the street above. So there was like no natural.
- 24:51It was dark. It was crappy.
- 24:54I was in there and I basically just live my life for like every
- 25:00every Thursday Friday night. Thursday, Friday Saturday.
- 25:04I would just go ape shit. I go to tripping on Thursday.
- 25:10Get fuck up. All right be sometimes end up in
- 25:13a holding cell not gonna lie. They took me there a couple
- 25:16times. Yeah I got myself in all type of
- 25:20shit and it was going on for a while and I just felt like I'm
- 25:26just throwing my life away. What am I doing?
- 25:29I started just kind of like I just didn't know what I was.
- 25:33Myself and I met a girl and she had a kid, she had a
- 25:38two-year-old and I was like, how, you know, how am I, how
- 25:43would I ever be a role model to this kid?
- 25:47I'm a I'm a fucking drunk. I drink all the time.
- 25:50So it took a while, I was still drinking when I was with her for
- 25:53a while. Not as bad.
- 25:56I won't go out and get myself in too much trouble, but I would
- 25:59kind of go overboard on the, you know, I get really, really
- 26:04fucked up and then it was like we went out on New Year's and we
- 26:09went to my buddy's in Maryland and I used to go there every
- 26:13year on New Year's Eve and get absolutely trash because you
- 26:17would pay like $60 and it was like, all you could eat and
- 26:21drink all night. Horrible for me because I was
- 26:25drinking like, Long Island, Iced Teas, and tiny cups.
- 26:28And just, I was drinking on my Shooters drank about I love
- 26:33them. So I ended up being really
- 26:36horribly drunk that night, throwing up all over my buddy's
- 26:39house, which is, you know, nice. When you invite a friend over is
- 26:42just throw your shit and just been like, man, I'd the fucking
- 26:46babysit him every time he drinks.
- 26:48Yeah. And Matt and my buddy, Matt knew
- 26:51me and he obviously he says, his quote was on the only three
- 26:55people to ever throw up in his vehicle.
- 26:58I threw up in this vehicle. Three times what the one time
- 27:03have you so pissed? That's my biggest fear.
- 27:05Please don't puke in my car. Listen, I couldn't figure out
- 27:10how to use a push button window. I caught, I can't roll it down.
- 27:14I can't figure it out. I was like sat there and I just
- 27:16kept like pounding the his things like well the fucking
- 27:19window down, I was like, I'm all over the side of it and he's
- 27:22like, I fucking hate you and I was like, yeah, cool.
- 27:27So anyway, back to this store, Sorry, I was absolutely
- 27:29horrible. They had to drag me out of the
- 27:32bathroom and like, they basically to babysit me, I woke
- 27:35up the next day and we were supposed to go do something in
- 27:39Baltimore and I can't do anything.
- 27:43Can't move felt like shit, kept throwing up.
- 27:47So I ended up. We ended up coming home and it
- 27:50was a long, two hour drive of pulling over and be vomiting the
- 27:55whole way home. So I got home and it was I think
- 27:59it was like two weeks later would probably about mid-January
- 28:05was like a Wednesday night. I don't know why I remember
- 28:07this, but it was like a Wednesday night and I had a
- 28:08whole bottle of coconut rum. I'm just kept mixing it with
- 28:12pineapple juice on a Wednesday night.
- 28:14I was at this girl's house and we put her put us on the bed and
- 28:18I finished the whole fifth by myself, I want to sleep.
- 28:21He's now woke up the next day, I felt like shit.
- 28:26I was like, what the fuck did I do that on a Wednesday night?
- 28:30Like, what am I doing? How could I ever be a father?
- 28:34How could I ever be You know, responsible for another person's
- 28:40life like I suck. So I just took it.
- 28:44I just took the day and I was like I just remember like I
- 28:46think I messaged her and I was like, I'm gonna quit drinking.
- 28:50How do you feel about that? She was like, yeah, that's
- 28:52great. I was like, okay, I'm done.
- 28:56And then I remember I because I have a thing that comes up on
- 29:00Facebook every year where I posted.
- 29:02I'm you know I'm giving up drinking bottle blonde, I posted
- 29:05it and that was it. It stopped, I didn't go to any
- 29:08meetings and into anything I just stopped in that moment
- 29:12which is crazy because that doesn't usually work for a lot
- 29:16of people. I mean, most people have to go
- 29:18and do treatment and 12-step and stuff like that.
- 29:21But I went to a 12-step before and well how many people also go
- 29:24to those programs and those steps and it's almost like it's
- 29:28almost forced upon them are. It's an ultimatum for them to do
- 29:32so where you are kind of like self-aware like no.
- 29:35I think I'm done here. Yeah, I got to, I think I got to
- 29:38the point where I was like, this needs to stop now II chalk.
- 29:42It up to. I thought about my life and I
- 29:46thought, like, I'll never have anything.
- 29:49I'll never have anything of my own that, I'll that I'll be able
- 29:51to love. I'll never have, I'll never be
- 29:53able to be somebody's husband. I'll never be able to be a
- 29:56father to children. I just won't.
- 29:58I just won't. I won't be able to do it.
- 30:00I won't be able to keep a job long enough to support somebody
- 30:04like that. I just, I won't have a life.
- 30:06The quality of my life was kind of, what was pushing me in that
- 30:09direction of like, this is, this has got to stop like, hmm.
- 30:14I think I was 30, 31 or 30? 31, 31.
- 30:19When I've said this is, this has got to stop, so it took a long
- 30:22time to get there, but finally got to that that Crossroad and
- 30:26said I'm done. I can't do this anymore.
- 30:29Yeah, it was fucking crazy man. That, that was the thing too is
- 30:32like or what? I would like, you know, go out
- 30:34and party and drink with friends.
- 30:36It's like I liked to drink right, but I always like,
- 30:39alright, well one of us has to stop here because nobody else is
- 30:44or we're never getting home. So then it became like I didn't
- 30:48drink as much. Because I knew everybody else
- 30:51around me wasn't going to chill and we were all done our vehicle
- 30:54and drove, you know what I mean? And it was like so I like I can
- 30:58have two or three beers of the place and be fine only because I
- 31:02like that's kind of how I taught myself how to drink because it
- 31:04was like, like, I'm not saying it's good, but I'm saying is
- 31:08like, I know my limit if that makes sense, and it just like,
- 31:10yeah, because I and I just got to the point was like, I don't
- 31:13even like drinking with people who don't who drink excessively
- 31:17because like, I don't wanna babysit you like, I like, you're
- 31:19an idiot right now, you know, I mean, like, it's off.
- 31:22It's a tough fucking thing. And, and and, and in that in in
- 31:25that region, that is what that's like, what happens?
- 31:30Yeah. Eric Eric, another one that's
- 31:32not professional wrestler, straight edge and but had, he
- 31:34was a big drinker for a while to but he really comes out.
- 31:38Hangs out with us, he's completely sober.
- 31:39And he stopped a long time ago and hasn't touched it, since
- 31:43that's it. It's tough.
- 31:44It's tough to do it on your own. It's tough to just, just stop.
- 31:47But I mean, it was probably the best.
- 31:48Thing. I mean, it was it was the
- 31:50greatest thing I've ever done for myself, like I
- 31:53single-handedly in that moment changed the entire course of my
- 31:56life. I mean, that's, that's period.
- 31:59Bottom line, it changed. Everything.
- 32:02It changed everything. I'm the junior, Reserve, you and
- 32:05God to you, and then got into like Jiu-Jitsu start doing that
- 32:09for a while, like doing MMA. Yeah.
- 32:11Mmm. But that was more because, like,
- 32:14I was always in bar fights and shit, and I was always, you
- 32:17know, I'm a nose, bro. Broke like three times in like,
- 32:20two months. Like, I black eyes like swollen,
- 32:23shut. Like I put people in the
- 32:26hospital. I had a lot of charges against
- 32:28me because I was fighting people all the time.
- 32:31Yeah. So I thought to myself.
- 32:34When I got like, when I start to get clean, I thought if you
- 32:37really think you had that fucking stuff.
- 32:42Go do what tough people do. Go go, get in the gym.
- 32:46And I remember going to the gym. I went to a gym and Shamokin.
- 32:50It was a lie, performance combat club.
- 32:53And I went in there and got absolutely houst by a guy that
- 32:59was, I don't know, maybe like 11 at 30 pounds.
- 33:04I was about 20 to 30 at the time 230 pounds and he absolutely.
- 33:12Beat the snot out of me. We were boxing.
- 33:15He just beat the shit out of me. We did some Jujitsu.
- 33:20I mean I yeah he just did whatever he wanted.
- 33:23I was in Triangle chokes. I was in Kimora's americana's.
- 33:29He was just stealing all type of naughty shit to me and I was
- 33:33like how the fuck can I was like picking him up and trying to
- 33:37toss him off of me and he would just end up he'd end up on my
- 33:40back and be like rear naked choke him.
- 33:42Like what is going on? Yeah.
- 33:44And then after that, I thought I need to do this.
- 33:48This is fucking amazing. I don't know why because I just
- 33:51I was just getting beat up like constantly getting beat up, be
- 33:54just going to gym, you know, the guy who asked him to ours and
- 33:58leave. Yeah.
- 33:59Like the guy who was who's Jim? It was his name is Chris, Chris
- 34:02pifer. He was you look like a fucking
- 34:06grizzly bear man. He was, he was like 355,
- 34:09Frontier box. He was a boxer, right?
- 34:12Don't know if he was a boxer. He did do some boxing and stuff
- 34:16but he was like a giant grizzly bear and he just literally would
- 34:20take you and just how you would hear things in my body popping
- 34:24that I didn't, they probably shouldn't have popped.
- 34:27He just house me up every single day until you start learning and
- 34:31then you start getting better and you start learning positions
- 34:34and, you know, how to get out of things and stuff like that.
- 34:38So yeah, it was great. I really enjoyed it.
- 34:41I really enjoyed Jiu-Jitsu. I did it for a long time.
- 34:45I did it for a long time in my recovery, and it was probably a
- 34:48huge focal point because it kind of kept me, you know, centered,
- 34:52it kept me out of trouble. It kept me, focused on things
- 34:55and like, you don't want to go out and get into fights.
- 34:58If you know you can fight or if, you know, you can handle
- 35:00yourself or if you've been in a situation like in a gym where
- 35:03you're boxing people and you're getting, I'm getting smacked in
- 35:06the face and, you know, throwing hands with other guys that are,
- 35:10you know, No quite good with their hands you know.
- 35:13So I don't want to go out and get any trouble.
- 35:15I don't want to cause any trouble, it's funny.
- 35:17Just want to do my thing, just be left alone and it's very
- 35:20humbling to to be feel like you're a really big guy and then
- 35:24get tossed around by a guy who's like half your size.
- 35:28You know it kind of brings you down a peg where you're just
- 35:31like all right well I think I'll I thought I would go you know
- 35:36walk in there like Billy badass and then you walk out and I'm
- 35:39like Hurts. Yeah.
- 35:41Like I should. Yeah.
- 35:43So then I just kept going back. I kept going back for a long
- 35:46time. Still, you still train over in
- 35:49the UK? I mean, I'd love to.
- 35:51Oh God, I'd love to I mean, but it's just with work and kids and
- 35:55she's just trying to figure out the time to do any of that is
- 35:58impossible. And most of the time, the
- 36:00classes are in the evenings and she's really hard because, you
- 36:04know, how to get up for work. I've got I where I work.
- 36:06Super early early in the morning, I'm up at like 2:30.
- 36:10In the morning, to go to work. But yeah.
- 36:12So it's just I don't know. I wish I wish I could be
- 36:14possible because I'd love to get back into it.
- 36:16But I have my ID and I have all my stuff here on my boxing
- 36:19gloves. Become a pro wrestler, huh?
- 36:22Just be a pro-wrestler man back in the day.
- 36:27I thought that was what I that's what I wanted to do, because we
- 36:31used to, we used to weave the backyard wrestle because that's,
- 36:35I mean exactly what you should be doing and I live in the
- 36:39Attitude Era. So, Instantly, you know that.
- 36:43That stuff those moments where like this is it like this hat?
- 36:47Right here. That this says, the crew, this
- 36:48is a crew hat. This was create.
- 36:50This was like Death Row, Records meets the NWO.
- 36:54This is like, my Fusion of, like the things I love like hip-hop
- 36:57music and you know, WWE factions, you know, DX and stuff
- 37:03like that. That me and my best friend.
- 37:04Russell rustlings back to that. It's nothing.
- 37:06But factions now everywhere and every company.
- 37:08Yeah, actions are thing again. Yeah, but they're not as cool as
- 37:11they were back then. I mean there's some cool
- 37:13vaccines right now. Like bullet Club, the bullet
- 37:17looks pretty cool. I mean the guy was cool that he
- 37:19wants were but like they're kind of like the elite now.
- 37:22Judgement day is kind of cool. The bloodline is cool.
- 37:25Yeah, bloodline is cool. Yeah, I guess so.
- 37:28Yeah. But it is, it is what I was
- 37:29like. How do you not look at re Ripley
- 37:31and be like anything. She's a part of I think is the
- 37:33coolest thing ever. She's like a hot Australian goth
- 37:36chick. Sign me up.
- 37:38Yeah, yeah. She looks like she would like
- 37:42she kill you unless you kill you hurt?
- 37:44Yeah, yeah, she hurt you think I'm all right with it.
- 37:47I'd be. All right with it.
- 37:49Yeah. I mean yes.
- 37:51As just you know, one of those things I used to love it.
- 37:54I still love, I love wrestling. I love backyard.
- 37:57I love backyard wrestling. I'll get you back into it.
- 38:00Tanya. We're gonna I'm gonna slowly
- 38:01sneak of you're gonna be watching it on Wednesdays again
- 38:04and yeah you know what the problem is.
- 38:06It's always on. So late here, I have a bunch of
- 38:08a aw on records record and stuff like that, Accord the dynamite
- 38:13and stuff because that's what's that's what usually on over
- 38:15here. Or it's at least on y hat like
- 38:18on my Ice on my sky, I can get it because for some reason, WWE,
- 38:25every couple of years, they switch to a different provider.
- 38:29So they're on be there on BT, which is a service provider over
- 38:32here, but they were on sky before and I used to watch that
- 38:35all the time, but I can't can't get it now.
- 38:37So I got a hangover. Appreciate you.
- 38:40Some people in the chat, another quick, I have a question here
- 38:44going through your recovery process when you decided you
- 38:47weren't going to drink anymore. Now, I'm trying to put it in
- 38:50perspective for people maybe who don't live in this area, but
- 38:53that that's essentially like, saying if I don't want to drink
- 38:57anymore, like that cuts out 95% of your social life, all the
- 39:03things you do, because there's nothing to else to do.
- 39:07Your friend. Like, if you want to go hang out
- 39:09with your friends, they're going to a barn.
- 39:11If you go to a restaurant, it's nine times out of ten to a
- 39:14restaurant with a bar in it like everything.
- 39:16There's, yeah, alcohol involved. Yeah, everything.
- 39:20All of. How do you did you lose?
- 39:22Friendships that front were friendships hard to maintain
- 39:24like, how was that process? Like, drinking is hard enough,
- 39:28but being social, especially when you're in a depressive
- 39:31State, and your depressive States, then crushed by the
- 39:33drinking. But then, maybe the only thing
- 39:35that makes you happy is being with people you care about.
- 39:37About like, how do you juggle all that?
- 39:40So so basically like getting sober is it's great because you
- 39:46like, you find yourself again like who you were before and
- 39:51yeah, I just I kind of just was like, I think I was on a high
- 39:54for like the first couple of years of being like sober.
- 39:56I kind of was just like just thrilled that I had, you know,
- 40:00achieve these goals and I've got clean.
- 40:04It was tough though because I wanted like because obviously I
- 40:06had to tell my friends. and I was just like, Are you on
- 40:10message? All of them individually and I
- 40:12was like Hey listen man I'm gonna quit drinking they were
- 40:16all like super supportive. I was like okay cool great we'll
- 40:20just call because back in the day be like stop being a pussy
- 40:23bro. Yeah yeah other words one years
- 40:26we don't we don't use those words.
- 40:29I think the thing is when I lived in Shamokin I think it was
- 40:34more toxic of a more toxic environment.
- 40:36I was involved in a lot of things that weren't great for
- 40:39Me. And I think the people that I
- 40:41Associated myself with, also, that I align myself with, we're
- 40:45doing the same things in such a drastically negative manner.
- 40:49That if I would have stayed there, I think I would have
- 40:53probably struggled and probably would have been able to do as
- 40:58well as I did. But I think when I moved out of
- 41:00there and I moved up to Pottsville I had friends up
- 41:06there but I made like new friends and new sir like Social
- 41:12Circle. So I wasn't as deeply immersed
- 41:15in this - drinking but I was still struggling with my own
- 41:20shit. So it wasn't like everybody that
- 41:23was surrounding me was just pouring it down and just getting
- 41:28shitty all the time. Like it was I was the one
- 41:31getting shitty most of the time and maybe like One other person,
- 41:35but then when I said to like, you know, my close friends, you
- 41:37know, I'm done and they were like there were like, okay, the
- 41:41probably they were, they were like staring labor support.
- 41:44They were really supportive. They were where they were
- 41:46supportive and they were like, yeah.
- 41:48Because I told them all like, I was like, listen.
- 41:50I was like, I know you guys don't think that I have a
- 41:52problem, but I do like you have to just respect the fact that
- 41:57I'm telling you that I have a problem and like if you respect
- 41:59me as a person and you respect me as a friend, Then the shin be
- 42:03an issue because this is my choice, and then you guys should
- 42:06just support me, you know, if you're my friends and luckily
- 42:09enough, they were my friends and I said, you know what, if that's
- 42:14how you feel, that's how you feel, and they've always been
- 42:17supportive of me, they've always been that's awesome.
- 42:19Always have my back, 100%. You know, they tell me that
- 42:22they're, you know, proud of me all the time for the stuff that
- 42:25I'm doing with the podcast and, you know, it's just I'm lucky
- 42:29that I have. I had a good core group of Of
- 42:32people, you know, that telling them showing him that my
- 42:38vulnerability and saying, you know, I've realized I have
- 42:42something wrong with me, you know, please respect that as my
- 42:46friend, you know, because they could have just been like, nah,
- 42:50fuck that drink, but they didn't, which is great because
- 42:54it made life easier on me because it would have been
- 42:56tough. It is tough though because
- 42:58everything is revolved around drinking so I had a friend.
- 43:02Dj2 tripping, Billy's all the time.
- 43:05So if I wanted to hang out, I'd have to go to tripping buildings
- 43:09and hang out. So I'd find myself in a bar
- 43:14Sober, and I did it for a long time.
- 43:17Like, I would go there, and I think a few times we hung out in
- 43:19bars, if I'm not. Yeah, I think, I think, I think
- 43:21we hung out in a Strikers, a couple times, because your fans
- 43:24that were playing there mmm, and stuff like that.
- 43:26So, yeah, it's it's, you know, it's just one of those things
- 43:32that I just, I felt like, at the time, I was strong enough to be
- 43:35able to do it. I think I struggled more now to
- 43:37go to places that are like, where people are getting really
- 43:41drunk and stuff like that, find it difficult to drink.
- 43:44Yeah, it bothers me. It's just I don't like to be in
- 43:46those situations, like I don't like to be in situations like
- 43:49that because there's always this guy and he's always going to be
- 43:52tough and he's gonna be bouncing around and bump into somebody
- 43:55like, what the fuck's your problem.
- 43:56I don't want to be involved in that situation.
- 43:59I don't want. You know, that that's not really
- 44:02the drinking see anymore and school County, like there's
- 44:04really, I mean, maybe one or two places you go and you're like,
- 44:07oh, that's going to turn into this.
- 44:09But like, everywhere I go, it's just it's Vibes.
- 44:12It's just like chilling. You know what I mean?
- 44:14Even have to be drinking to chill.
- 44:15I don't know. It's dope.
- 44:17Like tonight, we're going to the blood washes and Tony deepens
- 44:21Brewery it. Oh yeah.
- 44:23And and it's, we're having 420 wrestling trivia.
- 44:26So every piece of wrestling trivia is based on like weed
- 44:29wrestlers, like, like like some ways gonna be in there a lot The
- 44:33Godfather. Yeah, he has his own stream that
- 44:39may have made. I may have smoked weed with the
- 44:41Godfather one time now. That's great.
- 44:44Yeah. And I was great not like a full
- 44:49session because I didn't want to die.
- 44:50But took a walk and a little walk.
- 44:54Get a little hazy letter, but yeah.
- 44:57Now if speaking of going back to the podcast here, if someone
- 45:01were has never listened are if what what, what do they expect
- 45:05when they tune in to your podcast?
- 45:07What what's the overall like? Cuz I know you do solo stuff,
- 45:10where you just kind of, like, kind of talk and get thoughts
- 45:12out of your head, which is Ying. I fucking suck at that.
- 45:16Like, I just started doing a vlog and I'm trying to do that
- 45:19and it's so uncomfortable. It's not easy to do.
- 45:22And I do I find I'm literally sitting on an episode right now
- 45:26that I'm starting to edit and I'm like, I don't want to
- 45:28release this because I hate it because I'm like, I don't, I'm
- 45:32so uncomfortable, telling my personal stuff, like I made that
- 45:35poster today and I fucking hated it.
- 45:36Like I'm it's my biggest bear, I have to get over with myself.
- 45:41I mean, basically this like the solo stuff is just kind of like
- 45:44me talking about topics in recovery or in addiction.
- 45:49Or I mean anything that I really feel like I have a true like
- 45:52some understanding of and, you know, maybe things that I feel
- 45:57like I could share with people who might, you know, they might
- 46:00just benefit from from hearing somebody else who's gone through
- 46:03it. Say it out loud, you know,
- 46:05because like, with Alcoholics Anonymous and na.
- 46:08It's all Anonymous. You have to go.
- 46:10To these meetings and you have to, you know, sit in these rooms
- 46:14and, you know, follow these 12 steps or whatever the case is, I
- 46:19just think recovery, isn't it isn't the same for everybody?
- 46:23It doesn't. It's not a one-size-fits-all
- 46:25everybody kind of gets clean their own way and they do things
- 46:28their own way. And I just think, you know,
- 46:30sometimes, like, maybe things that I've gone through, or
- 46:32things I've experienced might resonate with people.
- 46:35And that might You know, just help them to hear somebody else
- 46:39had gone through it or somebody else had, you know, they've come
- 46:42out the other side of it, you know, to see what it's like on
- 46:44the other side that you can build a life that you can be no
- 46:48break. These barriers and break these
- 46:49stigmas, you can set these goals.
- 46:50You can achieve these things. So that's that's more like solo
- 46:53stuff that I'm going to do. Yeah.
- 46:56I'm just trying to like figure out like what else?
- 46:59I want to tie into it. I do have some guests on and I
- 47:02just think, like, as far as sobriety goes like, hearing
- 47:05people tell their Freeze because it gives people a voice and it
- 47:09lets them Express, you know, maybe things that they just want
- 47:14to just just say, you know, and I just think it's good for them
- 47:18in their recovery and if they're willing to share, you know,
- 47:21their story might resonate with somebody, you know.
- 47:23So it's just kind of things like that.
- 47:24So I'm looking into doing, you know, a couple more interviews
- 47:28with people and trying to get people to share their stories.
- 47:30It's tough because people don't like to, you know, it's tough to
- 47:34expose yourself and to say some things, you know.
- 47:36It's things like, you know thinking you know, saying that
- 47:39you when I first started office interviews, everyday people.
- 47:43And that's essentially what was like living in this area.
- 47:46I felt like and I didn't when I say this I don't want to come
- 47:50off as a negative but I was like, man, I live in a gold.
- 47:52Mine of people stories and storytelling.
- 47:55Like you go to a bar and you meet somebody and they're
- 47:58fucking, they been through stuff.
- 48:00They're hurting. Like they're trying to get over
- 48:02stuff and they have incredible stories, but they don't think
- 48:05they matter to anybody. They I think there's right is
- 48:07impactful and I would sit in a bar with these people.
- 48:10Like, you know, how fucking powerful your story is and
- 48:13they're like, no. And I'm like, your story is, is
- 48:16insane. Like yeah.
- 48:18And if you had someone like where I feel like, that's what
- 48:22kind of where I'm good at color commentary with cut, like with
- 48:24podcasting are with wrestling, is I can hear your story and
- 48:29maybe paint a picture to it and add something to it to make
- 48:32somebody else realize like holy shit I did realize it was that
- 48:35deep and then the This is like, I don't even know it was that
- 48:37deep, do you know? I mean, like yeah, I was doing
- 48:40interviews that are they people and then I was just like, I
- 48:42didn't want, I felt like I was cashing in on tragedy and I
- 48:45didn't like that either. So I definitely know you're
- 48:47coming from where it's hard to get people to talk.
- 48:49And that's kind of where, like, this podcast is still open for
- 48:52that. Like, I know I do a ton of
- 48:53wrestling interviews but this is I didn't make this the a BJ
- 48:56wrestling podcast. That's the a BJ podcast.
- 48:58I'm just here. This is like, essentially I want
- 49:00this to be as if I was writing a journal and every chapter was a
- 49:04different like chapter 48 issue, you don't know.
- 49:06Like this, this is, this is your story and and it could be
- 49:10anything. I just I'm very fortunate
- 49:11enough, that I have a lot of people in the wrestling business
- 49:13who gravitated to this, and listen to it, and like it, and
- 49:16that's a good way for them to meet new wrestlers.
- 49:18But also like, I like to sneak these in and people to be like,
- 49:21yo, I want to go check out his podcast and what he's doing.
- 49:24Yeah, I mean, I think it's a cool thing to do and I think,
- 49:26you know, with us doing this right now, I mean it gives
- 49:29people, it gives me exposure on your people and you exposure on
- 49:34my people and it's like, you know, you These stories do
- 49:38resonate and you can. And, I mean, I don't want to say
- 49:40cashing in on tragedy, but it's like, I've been more look at the
- 49:44uplifting bits of what I've done because it is, it is, I mean,
- 49:48there is a lot of tragedy. There's a lot of shit that
- 49:50happened. A lot of bad things and I feel,
- 49:52you know, my life now is is more about putting more good out
- 49:58because I feel like I did a lot of bad.
- 50:00I'm I'll I feel like I for some reason, I feel like Karma like I
- 50:02believe in karma for some reason that I feel like if I do I do
- 50:07more good because I did a lot of bad before, then, if I do enough
- 50:11good now that I'll balance it all out somewhere and that I'll
- 50:13kind of like and on an even Keel, like I'll make it to the
- 50:17middle somewhere where I can just do enough, good help enough
- 50:20people and you know, My struggle can be somebody's chance to
- 50:27save. Like you ever watch the show.
- 50:29My Name Is Earl. I've seen bits of it.
- 50:33Yeah. You should watch it, dude.
- 50:34I because I'm kind of in the same boat where I'm trying to,
- 50:36like, give back a little like, you know, me and I don't think
- 50:39I've done anything super bad, but I just also want to put out
- 50:42more positivity. But essentially, My Name is
- 50:45Earl, is this guy who is a drunk and alcoholic and druggie and he
- 50:48just was the horse human being ever, so he literally made a
- 50:51list of every person he's ever done wrong to do then over.
- 50:55Romans the show is him he's going back and trying to do
- 50:59something good for that person to get it off the list but Other
- 51:01people absolutely fucking hate him because of how bad he was to
- 51:05them. So he's trying to prove to them
- 51:08that he's like, he said it was a comedy show, but it was really
- 51:11fucking good. He's check it out.
- 51:14I mean, I think that's one of the 12 Steps isn't it to like go
- 51:17back and make amends like you have to go back, you know, make
- 51:21amends to people that you may have heard in the past.
- 51:24I mean you know, I don't do the 12-step thing but I know that's
- 51:29probably, you know, it's quite hard act to to To go back and
- 51:32and try to repair, or at least, you know, fix some of the damage
- 51:37that you've done previously. Yeah, you know.
- 51:41Well, we are coming up to the close to the end here and if
- 51:43anyone in the chat, has any questions or anything?
- 51:45They want to put out, please do so before.
- 51:47This is over, I just have one more little bit.
- 51:50I want to talk about, not podcast related is is the trip,
- 51:53the journey, the move. How did this come about?
- 51:56How did you end up from Schuylkill County, Pottsville
- 51:59Pennsylvania to, you know? No, 15 minutes outside of
- 52:03London. So basically, we were living, we
- 52:10did my wife, and I got married. We did the visa, she moves the
- 52:14United States. We lived in Schuylkill haven for
- 52:20a year. She was from the UK and then
- 52:22came to Pottsville. I'll come that are.
- 52:23Yeah, yeah. So I met her.
- 52:25I met her. So our story is kind of.
- 52:28It's insane to think about how I met her.
- 52:31So I met her, I was working at strykers as a bouncer All right,
- 52:36on, like the weekends usually on the weekends because I was
- 52:40working as I was working Roofing as my day job.
- 52:44So I'd go homework Roofing and then I go bounce that Strikers
- 52:48and they'd be like, yeah, he's not wrong.
- 52:52Making amends is one of the scariest parts of getting sober.
- 52:54It is like you're going to apologize to people that you did
- 52:58really their car for. You can see ya for future in
- 53:02their car four times. Yeah.
- 53:04Well, I don't think I've ever made amends for that.
- 53:06I've just gotten sober and been like, I'm just not going to
- 53:08mention it again. Yeah, I'm just never smelled
- 53:11never cursed. Son of a gift card for like a
- 53:13detailing job once a year. You know, I mean like that's
- 53:15this one's on me. Yeah.
- 53:17Or just like, we're just like get in this car and just
- 53:20instantly vomit and be like keeping the trend alive.
- 53:24I'm sober and I did it. I'm sober and I did a bitch, I
- 53:28realized the whole time it wasn't a drinking problem.
- 53:29I get carsick easy. I'm also I met my wife working
- 53:40at strykers. They told me, they were like in
- 53:43the summer, we get these people there, the Internationals, and I
- 53:46was like but what that like the Internationals and I was like I
- 53:50don't know what the fuck you guys talk that's a scope thing
- 53:52either internet all of a sudden. Yeah that's so cute though
- 53:55because you didn't know, they have no idea how to put it all
- 53:58together. They're just like Yeah from
- 53:59everywhere. And honestly it's like School
- 54:03our area just like Like, in the past 15-20 years, have just been
- 54:06more like we'll just say more cultures have entered our area,
- 54:09but like, it was hilarious. Like as someone who like your, I
- 54:13grew up in the hip-hop community and like, I like I try to
- 54:16culture myself but like I made friends with everybody but just
- 54:20watching people in the area. We like there's people would
- 54:22call her here in a like it was like the you're saying the
- 54:25Internationals like hearing some of the things other people said
- 54:29it's crazy. School county has come a long
- 54:31way, it blows your mind. So this big yellow school bus,
- 54:34Al's upright, and all these people get out and I was like,
- 54:37what in the fuck is this? So all these people, all these,
- 54:41all these girls and boys, they all come over and passports, and
- 54:44everything. They're from all over
- 54:45everywhere. I'm talking Australia.
- 54:49Jamaica, Germany Denmark Norway all over there from everywhere.
- 54:54England, they're from everywhere.
- 54:57So, I ended up bouncing there and nobody would talk to me
- 55:01because I was I looked miserable.
- 55:04I've been Roofing all day and I look miserable and I had a
- 55:07mohawk. And I was just, I looked angry
- 55:10and there was a group of people from England.
- 55:12It was, it was, it was a guy from England, a South African,
- 55:17and then the two girls and they were the only people that really
- 55:21talked to me for, like the first three or four times that they
- 55:24came. They work they did.
- 55:25This thing is called Camp America, apparently, it's like a
- 55:27thing over here with it. People sign up and they go to
- 55:29Camp, they do summer camps. So some of them are like summer
- 55:33camps for Kids, some of them are like summer camps for adults
- 55:36with special needs. My wife was involved with the
- 55:38adults with special needs and it was right outside of Pine Grove.
- 55:42The camp was in the woods. Nobody knew about it.
- 55:46Never knew it existed, probably better for like 50 years, right?
- 55:50It was called The Eagle Springs. So she was one of the only
- 55:54people to talk to me. And then we kind of hit it off
- 55:57and he started like talking and she was teaching me, like, look
- 56:00like English slang, like things that, that people would say.
- 56:03Here and style of English slang. It's my fucking favorite.
- 56:08I we went to Vegas real quick. Sorry.
- 56:11So sorry. Tarantino clicks sighs.
- 56:13Paul was, it was me and Heidi in a bar in the MGM Grand.
- 56:17And we're with like, six, dudes. Just me, Heidi and six, dudes.
- 56:21And they all look like fucking Captain America.
- 56:23They're all of, like, the most handsome.
- 56:25I thought for a second, I was losing my wife.
- 56:27Like, she was Smith and they all had English accents.
- 56:30I was doing it was like, fucking drinking with six James Bonds.
- 56:33I had no shot. You know?
- 56:35I mean and they're all named like Navy are some like their
- 56:39version of the Navy. Yeah.
- 56:40Oh yeah. And they're like, mate.
- 56:43Like what if what a birds that and I was like, what the birds.
- 56:46And now they're talking about girls the girls.
- 56:49Yeah, I thought, they meant actual Birds.
- 56:51Yeah, yeah, yeah. It is a lot of stress.
- 56:56Also. There's a, there's a, for
- 56:58letter, c word that me and my life absolutely love, but it's
- 57:02so expect not. It here but over there and like
- 57:05Australia and literally it's like it's like saying hello?
- 57:09Yeah, I love it. I heard my mother-in-law say for
- 57:11the first time was like she was like what I was like to see.
- 57:15Why? She's like yeah pink hair,
- 57:18smells like table, drop it all the time.
- 57:20Oh my yeah boom see bomb. See bomb.
- 57:23See beloved such a great word. Yeah man it's annoying will talk
- 57:28about cursing word. Yeah they're not really uptight
- 57:31With cursing in the UK like in Ian cursed you're like your
- 57:34diminishes a person. It's weird.
- 57:36Like I don't know. See but the thing is though like
- 57:39they have curse words that like you don't even understand that
- 57:44don't make sense to you like, bloody hell?
- 57:49Yeah. Like that's that's a that's
- 57:51cool. Don't say bloody hell really?
- 57:53That's like harsh? Yes, they say bloody hell on TV.
- 57:57Stewie says that every week on Family Guy.
- 57:59Yeah. But over here it's like a it's
- 58:01like a swear. Like, because I said, I think I
- 58:04I'm my wife might have said it in front of our son.
- 58:06She was always, should have said that and I like it's not that
- 58:09bad. Yeah, up and just seems like
- 58:12every forward Kant, three minutes ago.
- 58:14Yeah, Stevie Bombs all over that.
- 58:19But yeah, it is this is this is a good one.
- 58:24So like you know how we say dick right?
- 58:27Call somebody dick bell end. Oh I was I thought you were
- 58:31gonna say knob Now bell end the end of a bell.
- 58:36A penis looks like an end of a bell.
- 58:38The tip of that ahead. Call somebody a bell end.
- 58:42I'm gonna do it tonight. Yeah.
- 58:44Use it drop it. People just stare at you and be
- 58:46like yeah wank is funny. Wanks, a good heart I think with
- 58:52Lancome that yeah. I think just wanking or wank are
- 58:55the anything with Wang any verbiage of Wang.
- 58:57It's just walking amazing. Yeah, fucking wankers.
- 59:01Yeah, it's way better than Than like saying you're going to jerk
- 59:04off? I think I think wank is better
- 59:06than Wine. Yeah, I started watching this
- 59:10show like four or five years ago and it was called The Misfits.
- 59:13It was on Hulu and the premise of the Misfits was these kids
- 59:17were in like, a Saturday detention and yeah, for like,
- 59:20but it was like almost like the tension, but also like community
