- 0:00Speaker 1: When it comes to really brand new technology, you do, though,
- 0:03Speaker 1: have to ask yourself, can we afford to fail? And
- 0:08Speaker 1: if we're talking about setting up a new greenfield centrally,
- 0:12Speaker 1: see that's really the core of your supply chain. Note
- 0:14Speaker 1: you cannot afford to fail. But we're running a project
- 0:18Speaker 1: for a retail customer right now, for microphol film and
- 0:21Speaker 1: for dark stores, and that customer runs hundreds of stores
- 0:24Speaker 1: across the nation. Can we put automation and brand your
- 0:28Speaker 1: automation into a handful of stores, three stores, maybe five stores?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Yes we can, right And if they fail, yes, there
- 0:36Speaker 1: is a risk you're losing investment. But your business is
- 0:39Speaker 1: going to continue to operate and you very much have
- 0:41Speaker 1: the chance to beat out all your competition.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to Speaking of Supply Chain, where me
- 0:49Speaker 2: bock experts from around the world unpack the real stories, strategies,
- 0:53Speaker 2: insights and innovations shaping the future of supply chain. I'm
- 0:56Speaker 2: your host, Ellen Wood. Logiemount has come to a and
- 1:00Speaker 2: the supply chain and logistics industry is preparing for another
- 1:03Speaker 2: week of bold announcements, impressive demonstrations, and big conversations about
- 1:08Speaker 2: the future of operations. With Modex just around the corner.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Modex has become one of the largest stages for this innovation.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Every two years, thousands of supply chain leaders walk the
- 1:18Speaker 2: floor in Atlanta to see the latest developments in automation, robotics, AI,
- 1:23Speaker 2: and warehouse technology. But as exciting as the technology can be,
- 1:27Speaker 2: the real challenge for many organizations isn't discovering innovation. It's
- 1:31Speaker 2: figuring out what actually works, what technologies are ready for
- 1:35Speaker 2: real world operations, what solutions will scale, and how do
- 1:39Speaker 2: leaders translate all of this innovation into meaningful operational improvement.
- 1:44Speaker 2: To explore those questions and to talk about how Meebok
- 1:47Speaker 2: is helping attendees navigate the show floor this year, I'm
- 1:50Speaker 2: joined today by two of my colleagues you'll get to
- 1:52Speaker 2: see at Modex, Bastjan Himmeroterer and Jack Wagner.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Gentlemen, Welcome, Hey Ellen, thanks for having on.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I think we have a lot of questions coming up,
- 2:04Speaker 2: so we're all excited for Modex. Obviously there's a lot happening.
- 2:09Speaker 2: What trends are the two of you watching most closely.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I think Modex is a great opportunity for supply chain
- 2:17Speaker 3: leaders because there's so many different vendors that are there
- 2:20Speaker 3: all of the big players in terms of automation or
- 2:24Speaker 3: are not just there but also have you know, demonstrations
- 2:28Speaker 3: or live showings of their technologies. So it's a great
- 2:32Speaker 3: opportunity to be able to actually see the solutions in
- 2:37Speaker 3: person and be able to not only talk to the
- 2:42Speaker 3: to the suppliers, but also you know, see them side
- 2:45Speaker 3: by side and be able to recognize some of the differences.
- 2:48Speaker 3: And I think also the great thing about Modex is
- 2:51Speaker 3: it's not just like the big players, but there's also
- 2:54Speaker 3: so many smaller booths that are you know, emerging companies
- 2:57Speaker 3: or smaller technologies that are more specific in terms of solutions,
- 3:01Speaker 3: so like AI solutions or modeling or things like that,
- 3:08Speaker 3: that you can really branch out and go and find
- 3:12Speaker 3: a ton of new technologies that can benefit your ear
- 3:16Speaker 3: supply chain.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah, with over one thousand exhibitors on the show floor,
- 3:21Speaker 2: you know you can find those super super niche suppliers
- 3:25Speaker 2: and vendors that are going to have very specific technologies
- 3:29Speaker 2: for different solutions.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I can also see that for many companies, maybe retailers
- 3:36Speaker 1: very specifically, this is extra value this year because many
- 3:40Speaker 1: of them are just coming up to a new investment cycle.
- 3:43Speaker 1: We have a ton of companies out there, and including
- 3:46Speaker 1: a lot of our customers, who went through a heavy
- 3:49Speaker 1: investment cycle that was forced up on them during COVID, Right,
- 3:53Speaker 1: everybody needed to really boost up their e comm capabilities,
- 3:57Speaker 1: go into through omnichannel capabilities, and so when we got
- 4:03Speaker 1: into twenty twenty three, twenty twenty four, twenty twenty five,
- 4:08Speaker 1: people were pretty good with their supply chain setups, and
- 4:13Speaker 1: we're kind of like improving on what they build upon.
- 4:16Speaker 1: What we're seeing right now is the next investment cycle
- 4:20Speaker 1: is coming up, and the next big expansions and the
- 4:24Speaker 1: next big green fields are now being designed. So while
- 4:27Speaker 1: over the last year or two, many people could have
- 4:30Speaker 1: gone to promote permit and modex and just see what's
- 4:34Speaker 1: around this year, for many of them, it's more to
- 4:38Speaker 1: really see what they will be installing next year and
- 4:42Speaker 1: the year after it.
- 4:43Speaker 2: That's an interesting point that after COVID, we had this
- 4:49Speaker 2: explosion in e commerce, and it was simply out of
- 4:54Speaker 2: necessity that companies had to adopt a lot of these
- 4:58Speaker 2: types of technologies, and now as it's become a core
- 5:02Speaker 2: part of their business with the e commerce and dealing
- 5:04Speaker 2: with returns and I mean, it's it's just table stakes
- 5:08Speaker 2: at this point. That's how logistics needs to happen. And
- 5:14Speaker 2: it's interesting that you point out that this is this
- 5:17Speaker 2: is the cycle that they're going to be in, and
- 5:19Speaker 2: that this will be a big year. I hope you're right.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yeah, we're basically five years after this, after this big wave. Yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 3: So yeah, And I think, like Fashion was saying, I
- 5:27Speaker 3: think a lot of the you know clients that we
- 5:30Speaker 3: are working with now have a much more specific target
- 5:34Speaker 3: when they're looking at technologies. I think before you Know
- 5:38Speaker 3: we were we were doing a lot more of just
- 5:40Speaker 3: you showing what's out there and kind of doing more
- 5:44Speaker 3: concept design, And now I think a lot of the
- 5:46Speaker 3: projects that we're doing are much more about that next
- 5:49Speaker 3: step and and and really coming in and having a
- 5:52Speaker 3: specific solution that they're looking for and and uh and
- 5:56Speaker 3: wanting to get those next steps and implementation.
- 6:00Speaker 2: What trends are you personally watching most closely?
- 6:03Speaker 1: When I went over the shop floor last year, what
- 6:06Speaker 1: stood out to me is that there were so many
- 6:11Speaker 1: new names, but a lot of them were really around
- 6:14Speaker 1: three technologies. So we saw a lot of auto store
- 6:18Speaker 1: style systems that all looked very much the same trying
- 6:21Speaker 1: to really kind of jump on the big success crain
- 6:25Speaker 1: of train of that of that technology. We saw the
- 6:29Speaker 1: same with reclimbing robots, right, you couldn't even count how
- 6:33Speaker 1: many reclimbing robots they were on the shop floor last year.
- 6:37Speaker 1: And then the third one was pellet fourway shutouts. They
- 6:41Speaker 1: all looked very much the same, very similar, very much
- 6:46Speaker 1: trying to really get into the market and gain market
- 6:50Speaker 1: share on that technology. So this year, I'm really interested
- 6:54Speaker 1: to see these players still there. Did they all make
- 6:58Speaker 1: it through the year? Right? Did more more additional players
- 7:02Speaker 1: show up to further delude kind of like the vendor
- 7:06Speaker 1: scope over there, or does it some more harmonized? Soell
- 7:08Speaker 1: for me, like for these for these three technologies which
- 7:11Speaker 1: make up just a big share, right, the cube storage,
- 7:13Speaker 1: the red climbing ones. And then tell at fallway shot
- 7:16Speaker 1: us from an automation standpoint, how does that vendor set
- 7:18Speaker 1: up look like this year? That's that's one of the
- 7:20Speaker 1: topics that all close to be looking at. And do
- 7:23Speaker 1: we see the next big thing that nobody has been expecting? Right?
- 7:26Speaker 1: Is there like an actual true invention this year or
- 7:31Speaker 1: is it more trying to enter the market. That's already
- 7:34Speaker 1: been invented, you know.
- 7:35Speaker 3: To Bastian's point, I think last year there was a
- 7:37Speaker 3: lot of kind of he was saying, what the auto
- 7:41Speaker 3: store kind of twins or similar solutions, And I think
- 7:47Speaker 3: what I'm interested in seeing is the differentiators between these
- 7:51Speaker 3: different vendors. I think, you know, we have another year
- 7:56Speaker 3: that there's more use cases and more examples that they
- 7:59Speaker 3: can kind of point to of these solutions. And I
- 8:03Speaker 3: think that that's interesting to me to see, you know,
- 8:07Speaker 3: how where are they trying to fit themselves into the
- 8:09Speaker 3: market and if they're finding you know, trying to I guess,
- 8:13Speaker 3: attach themselves to you know, one industry or or if
- 8:18Speaker 3: they're trying to play kind of all across. So I
- 8:21Speaker 3: think there's I think there's that kind of aspect that
- 8:24Speaker 3: I'm I'm interested in seeing.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I think specialization could be a way that these
- 8:29Speaker 2: multiple players in each of these spaces find a way
- 8:32Speaker 2: to differentiate themselves and still retain part of that market
- 8:36Speaker 2: share through specialization by industry or industry vertical for their clients.
- 8:41Speaker 2: So a lot of people walk around Modex and as
- 8:45Speaker 2: you said, there's all of these moving parts. The technology
- 8:48Speaker 2: is just amazing to be able to watch. It's inspiring,
- 8:51Speaker 2: but when it comes to implementation, a lot of times
- 8:54Speaker 2: they struggle with getting that project over the finish line.
- 8:57Speaker 2: What are some of the most common pitfall that you
- 9:00Speaker 2: see when clients are trying to implement these large technological systems.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I think one of the most common pitfalls that we
- 9:09Speaker 3: see is, you know, especially when you go to modex,
- 9:12Speaker 3: all these different solutions and like you see the mini
- 9:16Speaker 3: auto store and the and the ASRS solutions and all
- 9:19Speaker 3: the AGVs on the floor, and it's very easy to
- 9:22Speaker 3: kind of get really excited about all these cool technologies
- 9:25Speaker 3: that you can implement. And we see supply chain leaders
- 9:29Speaker 3: in our projects that are, hey, we want AGVs and
- 9:33Speaker 3: and they approach the problem a little bit differently than
- 9:36Speaker 3: I think that we typically do with our projects. And
- 9:39Speaker 3: what I mean by that is they're they're not starting
- 9:41Speaker 3: with the problem. They're starting with we want AGVs, So
- 9:45Speaker 3: how do we get AGVs? But the the real way
- 9:48Speaker 3: to kind of make sure that these technologies are going
- 9:53Speaker 3: to be beneficial and successful and that there's going to
- 9:56Speaker 3: be the right rois to start with the problem and
- 9:59Speaker 3: to find what are the what do we need within
- 10:02Speaker 3: you know, within our buildings that uh that these solutions
- 10:08Speaker 3: can can help us with. And and then once you define,
- 10:11Speaker 3: I think it's it's then looking at what are the
- 10:15Speaker 3: the kind of the key things we're trying to solve.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Is it are we trying to densify our storage? Are
- 10:21Speaker 3: we trying to you know there is it purely to
- 10:26Speaker 3: you know, a better ro o I or is it
- 10:28Speaker 3: is there you know, safety concerns with the material that
- 10:30Speaker 3: we're moving things like that that I think, uh, you know,
- 10:34Speaker 3: when you're looking at all these cool technologies, you can't
- 10:37Speaker 3: forget the problem that you're trying to solve, and that
- 10:39Speaker 3: needs to be the first thing that you define, or
- 10:42Speaker 3: you're never really going to be able to get to,
- 10:46Speaker 3: uh that implementation phase or you're going to struggle to
- 10:49Speaker 3: get there because you're not starting in the right place.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I can really uh really double down on what
- 10:55Speaker 1: Jack said here. Right, So if you go to a
- 10:58Speaker 1: trade fair, you're basically going to just a fashion show, right,
- 11:04Speaker 1: just for technology. Right, So this but this is not
- 11:06Speaker 1: the real world. What you see, oh there looks great,
- 11:10Speaker 1: looks very shiny. It's the same as when you're going
- 11:12Speaker 1: to YouTube and see those things. Right, everything looks really great,
- 11:15Speaker 1: but you're in an extremely controlled environment that's not the
- 11:20Speaker 1: real world. So something that looks really awesome and performs
- 11:23Speaker 1: really well on the shop floor may work really well
- 11:26Speaker 1: for you, but it's not an automatism.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, I can maybe just keep adding on to
- 11:33Speaker 3: that that, Like in a you know, current projects that
- 11:35Speaker 3: I'm working on, we've run through kind of that cycle
- 11:39Speaker 3: of the initial phase or the initial start was, hey,
- 11:42Speaker 3: we want to automate because almost for automation, and we've
- 11:48Speaker 3: had to work with the client to kind of start
- 11:51Speaker 3: back and start fresh. And the answer still can be automation,
- 11:55Speaker 3: but how we get there really changes. You know, there's
- 11:59Speaker 3: so many different AGVs and different AMR styles and and
- 12:03Speaker 3: things that it's it's important to again to not do
- 12:09Speaker 3: the solution in the wrong order to be able to
- 12:13Speaker 3: get to the right the right automation or right technology
- 12:17Speaker 3: for your uh specific issue.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 2: When I was talking about this about logimat with our
- 12:23Speaker 2: colleague Sasha in Germany, he called it technology tourism, and
- 12:28Speaker 2: I really liked that that. You know, when you're going
- 12:30Speaker 2: to these trade shows, you know, a fashion show, technology tourism,
- 12:34Speaker 2: whatever word you use to describe it, it's the it's
- 12:36Speaker 2: the flashing lights, it's it's the advertising. It's meant to
- 12:39Speaker 2: distract but attract you. And if you're if you're distracted
- 12:43Speaker 2: from the reason that you're there in the first place,
- 12:45Speaker 2: the reason you're considering these things, then you can get
- 12:49Speaker 2: really caught up in the the excitement and the flashiness
- 12:53Speaker 2: of these solutions. They are very, very interesting, but that's
- 12:57Speaker 2: to your point. They this is not reality. The show
- 13:00Speaker 2: floor is not the environment where this will be implemented,
- 13:04Speaker 2: and it does give one a false sense of just
- 13:09Speaker 2: being the right solutions simply because it is working smoothly
- 13:12Speaker 2: right in front of you on the show floor. So
- 13:15Speaker 2: that that's an interesting and interesting perspective. So how would
- 13:20Speaker 2: you balance all of that exciting new technology with those
- 13:24Speaker 2: real world complexities of operations.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I think again, it's approaching with understanding what it is
- 13:34Speaker 3: that you're ultimately trying to solve. I think it's it's
- 13:37Speaker 3: coming in knowing the kind of the parameters and some
- 13:43Speaker 3: of the key information for what you're looking for, so
- 13:48Speaker 3: that when you get into the show floor, you uh,
- 13:52Speaker 3: you can have the right questions to ask these different
- 13:55Speaker 3: vendors and be able to differentiate between the people we're
- 14:00Speaker 3: talking to there. I think that there's a lot of
- 14:04Speaker 3: requirements that we see with clients when you're trying to
- 14:08Speaker 3: do an automation project that can kind of bog down
- 14:12Speaker 3: or slow the startup of these initial phases. When it
- 14:16Speaker 3: comes to you know, having the right data and things
- 14:19Speaker 3: like that, I think I think understanding what's what needs
- 14:23Speaker 3: to be done to even define, you know, what the
- 14:26Speaker 3: technology is going to be is important.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Especially if it comes to to really brand new technology.
- 14:35Speaker 1: A lot of customers are there are already somewhat careful,
- 14:38Speaker 1: right and many of our customers are telling us whatever
- 14:41Speaker 1: we're building in we do not want to be the
- 14:42Speaker 1: guinea pig. We want to see several references in this market,
- 14:46Speaker 1: in our industry. And you do have to balance this
- 14:49Speaker 1: a little bit, right, because if if you're going to conservative, A,
- 14:53Speaker 1: we know, no new technology would ever be invented because
- 14:56Speaker 1: nobody would ever want to be the first, and B
- 15:00Speaker 1: you also want to make sure that your competitors are
- 15:02Speaker 1: not running away from you. That is the real risk.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Now when it comes to really brand new technology, you do,
- 15:09Speaker 1: though have to ask yourself, can we afford to fail?
- 15:14Speaker 1: And if we're talking about you know, setting up a
- 15:18Speaker 1: new Greenfield centrally. See that's really the core of your
- 15:21Speaker 1: supply chain. Note, you cannot afford to fail. But we're
- 15:25Speaker 1: running a project for a retail customer right now for
- 15:28Speaker 1: micro fulfilment for dark stores, and that customer runs hundreds
- 15:32Speaker 1: of stores across the nation. Can we put automation and
- 15:36Speaker 1: bring new automation into a handful of stores, three stores,
- 15:40Speaker 1: maybe five stores? Yes we can, right And if they fail, yes,
- 15:45Speaker 1: there is a risk you're losing investment. But your business
- 15:48Speaker 1: is going to continue to operate and you very much
- 15:50Speaker 1: have the chance to beat out all your competition with
- 15:55Speaker 1: something very exciting and customer attracting. So just balance out
- 16:01Speaker 1: where do you want to be on the leading edge
- 16:04Speaker 1: or bleeding edge with brand new stuff that's coming out.
- 16:06Speaker 1: And if you do feel like you're ready to take
- 16:10Speaker 1: that risk, make sure it's a risk that you can control.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Do it in a small portion of your supply chain,
- 16:15Speaker 1: or do it in the lab, right if you can
- 16:17Speaker 1: afford to have one in a small and scale and
- 16:20Speaker 1: controlled environment before you actually roll it out.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I've noticed that phased rollouts have become much more
- 16:28Speaker 2: popular when it comes to these types of implementations just
- 16:31Speaker 2: because of that risk because of that risk of continuity
- 16:36Speaker 2: within the business and having a small test environment to
- 16:39Speaker 2: be able to run that and verify and get proof
- 16:43Speaker 2: of concept prior to a full scale implementation.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and a lot of these tests lab environments. You know,
- 16:51Speaker 1: customers actually buy the shop fraw technology, right, So if
- 16:55Speaker 1: you see something that you like, you could literally ask
- 16:58Speaker 1: the people if they're willing to tell that specific model
- 17:01Speaker 1: after the after the show is over to them, because
- 17:04Speaker 1: chances are they want to show something different next year
- 17:06Speaker 1: and have no more use for it, and you get
- 17:08Speaker 1: it for a penny on the dollar. So that is
- 17:09Speaker 1: a real possibility and many people are actually doing that.
- 17:12Speaker 2: So we've established that the show floor can be overwhelming
- 17:17Speaker 2: and flashy and exciting. What advice would you give someone
- 17:21Speaker 2: to try who is trying to get their the most
- 17:24Speaker 2: value for their time at the event.
- 17:27Speaker 3: The first thing is just having a plan when going
- 17:30Speaker 3: to a show like Modex. When you are going to
- 17:36Speaker 3: you know, these large convention centers full of thousands of vendors,
- 17:41Speaker 3: it's important to know where you need to go, who
- 17:45Speaker 3: you need to talk to, and what are the key
- 17:47Speaker 3: questions that you are going to ask these these different
- 17:51Speaker 3: vendors we at Meebok offer a concierge service for our
- 17:57Speaker 3: different clients where we will do a lot of that
- 17:59Speaker 3: pre work for you, so we will help you define
- 18:04Speaker 3: the problem that you're trying to solve and then pre
- 18:07Speaker 3: select vendors that will take you to and set up
- 18:12Speaker 3: a conversation with them prior to the show so that
- 18:17Speaker 3: they know you're coming. You're walking with us and cut
- 18:21Speaker 3: out a lot of the noise and a lot of
- 18:23Speaker 3: the wandering around on the show for and get you
- 18:27Speaker 3: directly to the vendor that you need to speak with.
- 18:31Speaker 3: And it really is something that we've done now a
- 18:34Speaker 3: couple of years in a row and helped a lot
- 18:36Speaker 3: of our clients to be able to really efficiently and
- 18:40Speaker 3: effectively go to these shows and get the answers that
- 18:43Speaker 3: they need and talk to the vendors that they need
- 18:45Speaker 3: to talk to and lead to successful projects and successful implementations.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I love the concierge service that we have at these
- 18:55Speaker 2: trade shows because it is such a compacted version of
- 18:59Speaker 2: what it is that we do every day anyway. You know,
- 19:02Speaker 2: we're we're a consultancy, we're we're advisors, and so we
- 19:06Speaker 2: when we approach a trade show environment, this is just
- 19:09Speaker 2: like a mini Knebok experience where you know, well, we'll
- 19:14Speaker 2: start with your business requirements, you know, and then we
- 19:16Speaker 2: select the vendors that are the best fit for what
- 19:19Speaker 2: it is that you're trying to do, and then enable
- 19:22Speaker 2: those conversations so that you know you're not getting bored
- 19:25Speaker 2: by the same sales pitch that every other person in
- 19:28Speaker 2: a line at this booth has gotten all day. You're
- 19:31Speaker 2: able to elevate that conversation that much faster because it
- 19:34Speaker 2: is very targeted, it is very specific to exactly what
- 19:39Speaker 2: you're trying to achieve, and it just allows us to
- 19:42Speaker 2: be able to demonstrate that in real time on the
- 19:45Speaker 2: floor because everybody's there, everybody's already there. We don't have
- 19:48Speaker 2: to do along RFP process, We don't have to have
- 19:50Speaker 2: multiple vendors come in and give demonstrations. It just happens
- 19:54Speaker 2: all right there while you're while you're on the show floor.
- 19:56Speaker 2: So it's it's really exciting for us, but I think
- 19:59Speaker 2: it's also and a really exciting and interesting way for
- 20:04Speaker 2: our clients or our prospects or or anybody else who
- 20:07Speaker 2: would like to you know, have this service from me back,
- 20:11Speaker 2: you know, participate in it.
- 20:13Speaker 3: At Modex, I think just also to add like some
- 20:16Speaker 3: of the real experiences of the concierge, because I we've
- 20:21Speaker 3: had a variety of clients and what they're looking for,
- 20:25Speaker 3: so it's it's not you know, I think we've had
- 20:30Speaker 3: experience where a client came in and they had one
- 20:33Speaker 3: technology that they really wanted to look at, and so
- 20:35Speaker 3: we said, Okay, we're going to take you to these
- 20:37Speaker 3: these three different vendors that offer that particular solution, but
- 20:42Speaker 3: we also know that this this other type of solution
- 20:46Speaker 3: can solve your problem as well. So we've got two
- 20:49Speaker 3: other ones that we want to take you to. Well,
- 20:51Speaker 3: we started with one of the ones that they had
- 20:53Speaker 3: pre selected, and then we went to one of the
- 20:55Speaker 3: ones that we had kind of recommended, and and they said,
- 20:59Speaker 3: don't take us to the old solution. We want to
- 21:01Speaker 3: just see what you guys have to recommend because we
- 21:03Speaker 3: weren't even aware that this is a technology or an
- 21:06Speaker 3: automation that's that's out there. So that's that's one use case.
- 21:09Speaker 3: But also another use case for the concierge is someone
- 21:13Speaker 3: that's coming in and saying, hey, I I just I
- 21:17Speaker 3: don't know what automation like. It's brand new. We're very
- 21:21Speaker 3: manual solutions so far, but we want to do these,
- 21:24Speaker 3: uh you know, take that next step in our supply chain,
- 21:27Speaker 3: show us, show us the big players, show us, let
- 21:30Speaker 3: us have those conversations so we can ask the questions
- 21:33Speaker 3: because we just don't know. So we've had that experience
- 21:36Speaker 3: as well. I think that you know, you know, the
- 21:38Speaker 3: concierge is meant to be a way to cut out
- 21:42Speaker 3: the or make it very direct for you to talk
- 21:46Speaker 3: to the right person on this show and whether it's
- 21:52Speaker 3: it's a one solution or you just want to see
- 21:54Speaker 3: what's out there, I think that we have that capability
- 21:57Speaker 3: to make that that happen for the.
- 21:59Speaker 2: For what would be the one takeaway you hope supply
- 22:03Speaker 2: chain leaders leave with after experiencing this, this concierge service
- 22:08Speaker 2: and the show overall.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I think the biggest takeaway is that the clients that
- 22:13Speaker 3: experienced the concierge are going to feel that they've had
- 22:18Speaker 3: a successful modex if if it was efficient and they
- 22:21Speaker 3: got the answers that they needed and they didn't waste
- 22:24Speaker 3: time talking to, you know, the the initial person at
- 22:28Speaker 3: the at the front of the booth that's just trying
- 22:30Speaker 3: to get your information, scan your tag, but they have
- 22:33Speaker 3: the real, real conversations that led to immediate results for
- 22:37Speaker 3: them that they can take their projects or to that
- 22:41Speaker 3: next step very quickly. So I think, yeah, the big
- 22:46Speaker 3: message is uh efficiency, and I guess that is the
- 22:51Speaker 3: big messages efficient show that you got in, got them
- 22:55Speaker 3: the information you needed, and were able to leave with
- 22:59Speaker 3: the answers.
- 23:00Speaker 2: I think, you know, perhaps beyond efficiency, it's just you know,
- 23:04Speaker 2: was was this show successful because you found what you
- 23:07Speaker 2: were looking for? You know, if you wandered the floor
- 23:11Speaker 2: for four days or even just two days and looking around.
- 23:14Speaker 2: There's three different hauls at Modex this year, So if
- 23:17Speaker 2: you didn't find what you're looking for, then that feels
- 23:21Speaker 2: like a wasted effort. So I agree, that's jan. What
- 23:25Speaker 2: do you think what do you hope supply chain leaders
- 23:28Speaker 2: will leave with after experiencing mode X in all its grandeur?
- 23:33Speaker 1: Yeah? Same thing, right? And you really got to be prepared,
- 23:37Speaker 1: right if you have if you have an actual prora,
- 23:40Speaker 1: if you have nothing going on, you just want to
- 23:42Speaker 1: see fancy things cool, but you can just as well
- 23:45Speaker 1: do this on YouTube, right, But if you have projects
- 23:48Speaker 1: coming up, if you have investment decisions that you need
- 23:50Speaker 1: to be doing. You need to have a plan. You'll
- 23:53Speaker 1: be x times more efficient if if you approach it
- 23:59Speaker 1: and you are pre pay art and the people that
- 24:02Speaker 1: you are talking with know that you are coming, they
- 24:04Speaker 1: will be waiting there for you and then know which
- 24:06Speaker 1: topics you have in mind. That's the right way to
- 24:09Speaker 1: approach the trade for if you actually have stuff that
- 24:11Speaker 1: you need to get out of it.
- 24:13Speaker 2: All that said, we certainly want to encourage our listeners
- 24:17Speaker 2: to attend Modex. It remains one of the most important
- 24:21Speaker 2: industry events for seeing where supply chain technology is heading.
- 24:25Speaker 2: But as we just heard, the real value of an
- 24:27Speaker 2: event like this isn't just discovering the newest and latest
- 24:31Speaker 2: and greatest technology. It's understanding how that technology fits into
- 24:35Speaker 2: the broader operational landscape. It's about separating promising concepts from
- 24:39Speaker 2: proven solutions. It's about understanding where automation, software and robotics
- 24:44Speaker 2: can truly deliver value, and it's about translating innovation into
- 24:48Speaker 2: supply chains that actually perform in the real world. So
- 24:52Speaker 2: if you're attending modex this year, we encourage you to
- 24:55Speaker 2: include Meebok on your agenda. Our team is available throughout
- 24:59Speaker 2: the show to help attendees interpret what they're seeing on
