- 0:00Well, hey, everyone, you're listening to the Curt Landry podcast, where we're going to
- 0:08help you discover your kingdom destiny.
- 0:11My name is Darrell and sitting right beside me, it's his show.
- 0:14It's Rabbi Curt Landry himself.
- 0:17And in this episode, we're talking all about identity and how to actually use knowing where
- 0:23you gain your identity to help accomplish your goals.
- 0:27But as always, before we jump into this episode, Rabbi, how was the weekend?
- 0:32How's the family doing?
- 0:34How are you doing?
- 0:35Listen, this was a great weekend.
- 0:38Quite a shift because we were spent a week down in Florida and then to come home to Oklahoma
- 0:45to really bad weather starting to come in and of course, a sterning winter here.
- 0:52But the good side of that is there's something personally for me to be able to come home,
- 0:58have the fireplace going, puts me in a mode to start cooking food.
- 1:04My family loves that side of it.
- 1:07So it's a good weekend, but it's also a weekend where I'm really focusing on, it's January,
- 1:15it's New Year's.
- 1:16And one of the things that I actually have in my program of goals to grow 2024, one of
- 1:23the things that bothers me when I read it was that only 8% of the people after February
- 1:31are either doing their goals or their year-end planning.
- 1:38And that really bothers me.
- 1:39And I thought, what can I do to be able to help people to not be trapped by being all
- 1:51excited, writing new goals, New Year's resolutions, but then how can I help them to facilitate
- 1:58actually changing their mindset to be able to go into accomplishing what they desire
- 2:04to accomplish?
- 2:07And that really comes down to an identity issue.
- 2:10Yeah.
- 2:11So, you throw out the percentage there for, I mean, it's kind of sad as humans in Falling
- 2:19Creation that in the second month of the year, we fall off that quick.
- 2:25Why do you think that it's just so easy for us to do that?
- 2:30Boy, I could just...
- 2:34Now, listen, I could write a book on this, but I'll just...
- 2:39A brief history.
- 2:40Okay, I come out of the corporate world.
- 2:43I'm corporately trained in behavioral sciences.
- 2:47And what happens with that is like self-improvement things, okay?
- 2:53What happens is you have to constantly be reinforcing the self-improvement.
- 2:57So then I get saved.
- 2:58But when I get saved, I realize now we actually have a power of the Holy Spirit and the Word
- 3:03of God to bring transformation.
- 3:06So what I have found is if you take practical time, task, and activity management where
- 3:11you're making good use of your practical times and you have goals, say, I have to do this.
- 3:19And I always say, underestimate your goals.
- 3:22So many people say, I'm going to do five or six things in one day.
- 3:25Listen, just do two or three.
- 3:28And then, you know what?
- 3:29If you get them done, go for the four and the fifth and you'll feel good.
- 3:32But if you have like five or seven and then you only get like six and then you feel bad.
- 3:36So a lot of this is managing your emotions.
- 3:41But what I have found is, and I can give you an example here a little bit, but if you'll
- 3:46take your goal of what you're accomplishing to do, write it out and then put scripture
- 3:52to it and then actually pray and start memorizing the scripture that actually reinforces the
- 3:58change you want to make, it becomes supernatural.
- 4:01And I think that's the difference between me, let's say, than a Tony Robbins or somebody
- 4:06that's doing that type of behavioral change.
- 4:10Listen, all that positive motivation, Norman Vincent Peale, all that stuff does get results
- 4:14to a degree.
- 4:16But if you will take practical habits and patterns and then put scripture to it to where
- 4:22the two actually are working together, the results, you won't have 8% of the people.
- 4:29It's going to up the percentage.
- 4:31And I hope people will listen to this podcast and listen to us because this is an opportunity
- 4:36for them to really, once you start becoming knowing that you can accomplish whatever God
- 4:41puts in front of you and you actually believe it, it changes your self perspective.
- 4:47Curtlandry.com forward slash goals 2024.
- 4:50You can get your free download, free PDF.
- 4:54This is basically what we're really getting into, Rabbi, is your goals to grow for 2024.
- 5:05Before we really take this conversation off into what we're going to be talking about
- 5:08in identity and figuring out who you are and how you understanding what your identity is,
- 5:17is going to help you really accomplish those goals this year for you.
- 5:21Let's talk about this podcast, right?
- 5:23It's a little bit different type of medium that you've really done before.
- 5:27I mean, you've had a podcast for years, but it's a little bit different flow, like the
- 5:33style.
- 5:36What are you wanting the listeners who jump on board, subscribe to this podcast, and most
- 5:43likely watch you on Tuesday nights and Friday nights during Shabbat?
- 5:48What's that one little piece of value of saying, hey, subscribe to this podcast?
- 5:56Here's the biggest request that I get and the biggest request that I can't fulfill.
- 6:04I mean, I just can't do it.
- 6:09People will say, I would just like to sit down and talk to you and basically pick your
- 6:14brain about this or that.
- 6:19With the responsibilities that I have with what I do and my family, I don't have time
- 6:26for that.
- 6:29You work with me and you know-
- 6:31Pretty busy.
- 6:32Yeah, because most people my age are slowing down and I'm actually going to be busier the
- 6:36next 10 years, not less busy.
- 6:41To answer your question is there's nothing more valuable than experience.
- 6:48What happens is I've had a lot of experience and I want to be able to impart that experience
- 6:53like to you and Morgan.
- 6:56I want you to take that experience on to the babies.
- 7:02That's really my heart.
- 7:03My heart is, listen, I had some really good influencers in my life at key points and I
- 7:13want to be able to give back.
- 7:16This is one of the ways this podcast is, so to say, let's sit down and have lunch together
- 7:21without the food.
- 7:23But I think what we're talking about people, listen, I don't think that I have it going
- 7:27on or I just know what works for me.
- 7:31I think the testimony of our life is good enough that people can say, well, like I tell
- 7:38people don't follow anybody that's not where you want to go.
- 7:44If they're not where you want to go, then you need to go find some other podcasts.
- 7:49Is that kind of like don't take money advice from broke people?
- 7:53Yeah.
- 7:54It's just-
- 7:55Yeah.
- 7:56Okay.
- 7:57Diving into a little bit more, I mean, obviously, that's something I really want to bring in
- 8:01to this show is that people kind of know where your heart is for this because you've done
- 8:05content and media and live TV for years and years.
- 8:11When I came to you with this idea of the podcast and was kind of pitching around the team,
- 8:15I wanted a more laid back opportunity for you to really just kind of tell it how it
- 8:20is and just have a really easy conversation.
- 8:25I know it's my hope and I think it's your hope and the rest of the team that when people
- 8:30sit back and listen to this show, that they can kind of get to know you and learn from
- 8:35you in a more relaxed, relatable setting than, hey, I got a live notification trigger and
- 8:42so I need to jump on and try to see what Rabbi's got going on YouTube right now.
- 8:48I hope this media is the type of format where people feel comfortable and confident enough
- 8:53to maybe listen to an episode twice if it really helped them.
- 8:56Yeah, I do.
- 8:58Listen, just to be transparent, what happens is, listen, I'm very blessed to have a studio
- 9:02at my house.
- 9:08The reason it's kind of random is I'm a Holy Spirit guy and Christy will know it.
- 9:15All of a sudden she says, like, you start pacing and you get this weird look on your
- 9:19eyes.
- 9:20Christy says my eyes change and what happens is what I say is I said, listen, there's something
- 9:25bubbling up within me and so what I try to do is I try to go into my space in that office,
- 9:32which is a safe space for me and I basically just put the fire hose on and let it fly and
- 9:39this isn't that.
- 9:41This is like, let's just have a very practical kind of a dial down conversation so they can,
- 9:50listen, I'm not in that mode all the time.
- 9:54This is who I am sitting here.
- 9:55This is what I do.
- 9:59And you can ask me anything you want.
- 10:00And one of the things, I'll tell you, one of the strengths that the Lord's blessed me
- 10:04with is if I don't know something, that's why I can do live television and I'm like
- 10:08people see, I remember I went to Daystar and there was a bunch of stuff going on and it
- 10:12was, and someone came up and they said, Rabbi, would you pray?
- 10:16You seem so calm.
- 10:19And that was the comment and I said, well, I didn't realize I seemed so calm.
- 10:23And they said, why are you so calm?
- 10:24I said, because it's not my show.
- 10:27I said, all these people, there's 14 people running around.
- 10:31Those are your employees.
- 10:32This is not mine.
- 10:33I'm just here.
- 10:34All you're going to do is ask me questions.
- 10:36I'm either going to say, yes, I know, or no, I don't.
- 10:38And so, and so I think when people, you know, that's, I want it to be, listen, if you ask
- 10:45me a question and I don't have the answer, I can say, I'll think about it.
- 10:48We'll do it in the next episode.
- 10:49I just want to be able to really impart to people and help them and building trust in
- 10:57the ministry.
- 10:58Listen, we're not perfect, but we do have, if you're going to follow us, if you look
- 11:02at the track record, the ministry is very successful and the other side of it is, and
- 11:07I give all the credit to the Lord and my wife, but we're very blessed to have a godly family.
- 11:16Our children are active in the Lord, our grandchildren.
- 11:20We have, we're blessed with tremendous amount of godly friends.
- 11:24I mean, you know, some of our friends and I don't like the name dropping thing, but
- 11:29we have really solid friends and we've had them for a long time.
- 11:34I mean, if you look at Pastor Tim and Sandy, they've been with us 24 years.
- 11:38How many people do you know that actually co-pastor a church and have the same pastor
- 11:4224 years?
- 11:43I don't know anyone.
- 11:44So, so we're very blessed.
- 11:47And so what happens is if I can impart little behavioral choices and things that, that would
- 11:52help people, we're debt free.
- 11:55The ministry is debt free.
- 11:56I'm debt free.
- 11:57I mean, so like actually what we preach is, I mean, it works.
- 12:01We live it.
- 12:02Yeah, we live it.
- 12:03And so I'm just trying to be able to, if I would like everyone to be able to get there
- 12:07and if they can, if what we're sharing on the podcast helps them, I'm, I'm that really,
- 12:13that's what, that's the reward for me is that someone's blessed by it.
- 12:17Email your questions to podcast at curtlandry.com.
- 12:21We'll thumb through them each week as you bring those questions.
- 12:26Just make sure that you put in the title on the subject line.
- 12:28Hey, this is for the Curt Landry podcast.
- 12:31Say hey, say whatever you want to Rabbi.
- 12:34We'll, we'll get it in front of them so we can take some of those questions and, and,
- 12:39and help you on your spiritual journey in 2024.
- 12:43So Rabbi, let's, let's jump back to what we're talking about in this episode about identity
- 12:47and figuring that out and how that relates to your goals.
- 12:52And so I, I guess the first question really to get us going is, is how difficult, and
- 12:59this is a big question, but how difficult initially when you sit down to start a year,
- 13:04right?
- 13:05Or you start anything new, but you know, I want you to go much deeper in this from like
- 13:10a spiritual personal side of it.
- 13:14How difficult is it to one, identify your identity, right?
- 13:20And two, how do you activate that?
- 13:22Because I feel like you got to start there before we start talking about goals and about
- 13:26different things that you want to accomplish in your life.
- 13:29Yeah, Darrell, that's a great question.
- 13:31So if you go in my goals to grow by on page 11, it says your personal strategy for his
- 13:38kingdom.
- 13:39And the question is this, what do I need, and this kind of answers your question, what
- 13:43do I need to shift my mind away from so I can seek first the kingdom of God?
- 13:50So what is it that I need to shift my mind?
- 13:53Now, I, you know, a lot of times, listen, this is one of the struggles I've had inside,
- 13:58let's say the Christian world, is the Christian world and the business world, and I'm in both
- 14:05worlds, but the Christian world sometimes has a little bit of difficulty with the mind
- 14:11stuff.
- 14:12So if you start going into any kind of mind transformation or mind development, then it's
- 14:17like, oh my gosh, this is witchcraft, this is this and that.
- 14:20And I'll just tell you right now, it's not.
- 14:24Let me put you into a situation, okay?
- 14:27You work for a guy for 40 years, the guy is the greatest leader, everybody likes him.
- 14:32And then all of a sudden, suddenly he dies.
- 14:35And he dies when the goal, the goal for the whole company for all these years was to go
- 14:41to this place called the promised land.
- 14:43Right before you get to the promised land, the boss, Moses, is gone.
- 14:47And so now, what's the first thing the Spirit of God says to this young Joshua?
- 14:51He says, as I was with Moses, so I am with you.
- 14:54And so he says, well, that's great.
- 14:55How do I ask now?
- 14:57Now I am Joshua CEO, I'm not Joshua, the vice president, I'm CEO.
- 15:04How do I get that mind set?
- 15:05And what does he say to him?
- 15:07He says, meditate, which is a mental, meditate on the word of God, right?
- 15:13Day and night, that you might be of great success.
- 15:17So the first thing you have to do is you have to make a decision.
- 15:22And this is a choice, it's just a choice.
- 15:24You need to say to the Lord, and you can do it right now.
- 15:26And you can say, Lord, I want your mind and your influence because the scripture says,
- 15:32let this mind be in you, that's in Christ Jesus.
- 15:35You have to let it.
- 15:36That's what I'm saying.
- 15:37And ask the Lord to give you his mind for your life.
- 15:44Lord, what did you create me for?
- 15:46You have to start the process of asking.
- 15:49And Darrell, what will happen is if you'll ask, then what's going to happen is you're
- 15:52going to start reading stuff in scripture and devotionals, you're going to maybe even
- 15:55hear a podcast like this.
- 15:57And all of a sudden, you're going to go, oh my gosh, this is what he's got in mind for
- 16:03me.
- 16:04And what happens is dream goals will start to come.
- 16:08And that's where the passion is.
- 16:09And what you're going to find out is your dream goals and your passion are connected
- 16:14to the gifts that God has put in you, the nine spiritual gifts, whatever.
- 16:19Let's say you have five of the nine.
- 16:20It doesn't make any difference.
- 16:22But it starts in shifting your mind to say, I want God's will for my life, not mine, where
- 16:28there's actually a surrender, like, okay, I'm going to quit striving and I want to do
- 16:33what God has created me for.
- 16:35Curtlandry.com forward slash grow 2024.
- 16:39That's how you're going to get your free goals to grow download.
- 16:44That's what we're going by.
- 16:45So Rabbi, you've kind of broken down that first layer.
- 16:50So let's pull back another one.
- 16:52Okay, let's go to what's the next thing.
- 16:55So I figured out identity purpose a little bit.
- 16:59And so now I've got a lot of ambition.
- 17:02I got a lot of things that I actually want to accomplish.
- 17:04And everybody's gone through things where they've struggled and trying to figure out
- 17:09how to get over the hump.
- 17:11So what's that next layer of identity and goals?
- 17:14Okay, so let's break it down into so that you can understand, people understand.
- 17:20Let's break it down to either there's people who tried to start their own business or have
- 17:26no people who have entrepreneurially started businesses and failed.
- 17:32And so I'm going to give you my 40 plus years experience in business.
- 17:39And I've been blessed to actually succeed and fail in multiple businesses.
- 17:46And so I'm speaking to you from that experience.
- 17:50Here's the thing is you get the mind of the Lord, okay, Lord, you have me to do this business.
- 17:55Okay, and I'm just using that example, then you have to have your heart.
- 17:58Your heart has to be in it, because there has to be passion, because passion is that
- 18:04hidden energy that actually causes you to succeed.
- 18:08But then you have to have practical goals of how am I going to have time, task and activity.
- 18:13But I'm going to give you the mystery.
- 18:14The mystery to success is you have to have the character, the value system and the integrity
- 18:21spiritually to be able to drink from the Lord's blessing cup.
- 18:27And we'll be right back.
- 18:29It's a new year and a new you.

- 19:06Or how do I do spiritual warfare?
- 19:09Or how do I believe that I'm more than a conqueror?
- 19:13Meaning that Matthew 633 positions us for success in this year ahead.
- 19:20That seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things will
- 19:24be added on to us.
- 19:26The fruit of the Spirit is evident in His covenant.

- 19:59our son-in-law Paul Marcelino, his dad, Yocanon Marcelino, helped to produce this book and
- 20:06the whole purpose of this book, Jerusalem Rising, is to be able to bring visual evidence
- 20:15that Jerusalem and Israel actually belongs to the children of the God of Abraham, Isaac
- 20:22and Jacob.
- 20:24That this is the land of Isaac and the miracle power.
- 20:30They say that a picture is worth a thousand words and this book captures that.

- 21:08Hey, one more thing.
- 21:11After this episode, I would love for you to go and download and listen to another podcast
- 21:17on the One New Man Network and that's called Generations at the Table with Megan Marcelino.
- 21:23This show is perfect for discovering how to grow your family in faith by knowing your
- 21:28Jewish roots.
- 21:29Megan breaks down all of her knowledge on how to unlock your family's kingdom destiny
- 21:35by honoring Yeshua.
- 21:36You can find her show on the One New Man Network on your favorite podcast app.
- 21:44And now back to the show.
- 21:45I'm going to say it again.
- 21:47You have to have the behavior, the values and the character.
- 21:52So if you go to like Romans 12 verses 9 through 21, and I'm not going to read all of it, but
- 21:57it says, let love be without hypocrisy, abhor what is evil and cling to what is good.
- 22:04So and it goes down all the way down to 21 and it says, do not be overcome by evil, but
- 22:08overcome evil with good.
- 22:11So here's the key is if you want the Lord to bless your, I'm just using an example,
- 22:16your business or whatever your assignment is, then you have to choose to say, I'm not
- 22:21only going to have the mind and the heart and the attitude and the plan for God, but
- 22:26I'm actually going to stay within the behavioral boundaries of saying, you know what?
- 22:31I'm good at getting angry.
- 22:33I'd like to get that guy lied.
- 22:34They cheated.
- 22:35They stole from me.
- 22:36If you're going to go into business, all that's going to happen and whether the business is
- 22:39in the church or out of the church, there's lying, cheater, stealers everywhere.
- 22:43But what you're going to say is, okay, when it happens, how do I respond?
- 22:47And if you read Romans 12 and example nine through 21, then what happens is you're going
- 22:52to have to respond with forgiveness and then let the vengeance be the Lord's and then you
- 22:57have to move on.
- 22:58So you have to forgive.
- 23:00Since you've been with us, we had a situation with betrayal and a betrayal thing came and
- 23:05you watched it.
- 23:06You know, we could have gone into taking it into our own hands or we could forgive, keep
- 23:12our hearts right and move on.
- 23:14And you can see we have recovered from a pretty sizable.
- 23:17Pretty well.
- 23:18Yeah.
- 23:19I mean, but see, we followed these principles, but see, these principles were in my heart
- 23:24since the nineties.
- 23:26And so what happened is it's like, so, but listen, did I have thoughts when that was
- 23:29going down?
- 23:30Yeah, I had thoughts.
- 23:31I'm just a man.
- 23:32I'm just a person.
- 23:33Yeah.
- 23:34Well, I did.
- 23:35I get mad, angry.
- 23:36Yes.
- 23:37But the choice is here's what happens is if you think about it, okay, let's, let's just
- 23:41imagine right here on this table.
- 23:43Let's say I have seed, I have golden seed and each one of those golden seeds are going
- 23:49to be watered and, and they're going to grow.
- 23:52Okay.
- 23:53And so what happens is let's say there's a hundred golden seeds in front of you.
- 23:57Now if I choose to get angry and I want to be vengeful, I'm going to get them.
- 24:03I'm going to get, I'm going to call, you know, you know, I've got an attorney and you know,
- 24:09I can call my attorney and we're going to get after them.
- 24:12Okay.
- 24:13So what that is, if you do that, you've got the hundred seeds on here.
- 24:17That anger outburst of that Satan kind of, so this not, it's just an example.
- 24:22Satan comes as the accuser of the brethren says, all right, give me 25 of those seeds
- 24:26right now.
- 24:28Because what happens is the sin of that anger takes it.
- 24:32It doesn't hurt the person I'm upset with.
- 24:34What it does is it steals my blessing.
- 24:37So when it says in the Galatians of the fruit of the spirit, self-control, if I choose,
- 24:41listen, I feel the anger.
- 24:44I want to engage in the anger.
- 24:45I want to have, and you're trained here.
- 24:47I want to have that 18% moment.
- 24:50See that 18% moment is determined.
- 24:53If you don't have an 18% moment is because you choose self-control.
- 24:57And what happens in the spirit is you, you, you maintain the 25.
- 25:02And to be honest with you, my experience has been if the Lord, if I have a hundred golden
- 25:06seeds on the table, if I make a good choice, many times the Lord will just dump another
- 25:1150 golden seeds on me and just say, what the heck you did so good.
- 25:14Here's the blessing.
- 25:15I'm serious.
- 25:16It's just like, it just, I'm telling you, it works like this.
- 25:19And then, and, but you'll never see me.
- 25:21I won't defend myself.
- 25:22I'm not fighting against people.
- 25:24And listen, you work here.
- 25:25We get, I get accused of everything.
- 25:26I mean, I'm so blessed that some opposition in Israel, we made it to the front page, not
- 25:32the front page, but anyway, to the Jerusalem post my whole life.
- 25:35Listen, I'm a Jewish guy, a humanitarian aid.
- 25:39And I've always wanted to be in the Jerusalem post, but I finally made it.
- 25:42But how did I make it by some, you know, mean people in Israel that don't like it because
- 25:47we're outperforming them.
- 25:48And it says, Curt Landry ministries were right there in the first, we had the word count
- 25:52and blah, blah, blah.
- 25:54They actually accused us of everything.
- 25:56It was like my mother came from heaven and said, and look what Curtis is doing.
- 26:00They dispelled it out.
- 26:02Only it was hateful.
- 26:03I'm sitting over there.
- 26:04I read it.
- 26:05I'm there.
- 26:06I'm going, I looked at Christie and I said, we made it.
- 26:08We're in the Jerusalem post.
- 26:10It's a blessing.
- 26:11Yeah, it is a blessing.
- 26:12I'm serious.
- 26:13I'm so excited about it.
- 26:14But see, that's because if you'll do the 12, you know, this attitude, you build it over
- 26:21years.
- 26:22And what you realize is your attitude and your behavior when bad things happen are going
- 26:26to determine your future.
- 26:27All right.
- 26:28So let's say that people listening have downloaded their free guide, right?
- 26:34And they're working through it.
- 26:35And like, let's say it's a couple months from now, okay, or people last year in the 2023
- 26:41version of this download and they figure out identity, right?
- 26:47They figure out their goals from things that they want to accomplish.
- 26:52I mean, this might be too simple of a question, but I mean, it's something that I think about
- 26:56is that when you pray and accomplish things, how difficult is it sometimes to maybe slow
- 27:03down to where you can actually recognize that you've achieved the goal?
- 27:09Oh, man, you're asking the wrong guy for this.
- 27:12Yeah, no, this, yeah, you'd have to ask Christy or something.
- 27:16Yeah, I'm not good at this.
- 27:18Okay, so I actually, and this is hard.
- 27:23I'm not trying to separate myself from the people, but I know who I am, my identity.
- 27:30I'm a voice.
- 27:31My purpose is to be that voice for Israel, and I know it's going to cost me everything.
- 27:36Okay, so I made that decision like in 92.
- 27:39So what happens is what I do, I would do even if I didn't get paid to do it.
- 27:46I'm blessed.
- 27:48I live on a golf course and I have a lake in the back.
- 27:53And so my friends come and they say, well, do you play golf?
- 27:55I say, no.
- 27:56Do you have a boat?
- 27:57No.
- 27:58It's just I like the space.
- 27:59It's where the Lord put me and it's a good investment property and I love living there.
- 28:05But I don't do any of the things.
- 28:06What do I do?
- 28:07I sit in my office and I do teaching like this because that's what I love to do.
- 28:13First of all, I'm fairly good at teaching and preaching and ministering.
- 28:17I stink at golf and when I fish, I always like pull the, I jerk the line and I'm too
- 28:22slow.
- 28:23So it's like, why would I want to do something I'm bad at when I'm actually learning?
- 28:27I look at ministry and communication like a doctor.
- 28:31I'm in practice and I hope that the last message I preach will be my best.
- 28:36It's a constant growing.
- 28:38But the point is my passion is I love to do it.
- 28:40But the question is this, why do I love to do it?
- 28:44Because God has blessed me.
- 28:47Just people don't realize, but listen, there's no logical reason for me to be sitting here.
- 28:53I know God did it.
- 28:55So those who have been given much, the Lord requires much.
- 29:00So we just got done taking care of 500 orphans in Nairobi, Kenya.
- 29:05And so I did a little interview with them on the Zoom.
- 29:11And of course they always ask, well, why are you doing this?
- 29:13Well, that was me.
- 29:15I was an orphan.
- 29:17So a lot of people have an orphan spirit.
- 29:22What I mean by that is you may not be a physical orphan, but spiritually, you don't really
- 29:27feel connected with God.
- 29:30You don't feel blessed.
- 29:32You're in debt.
- 29:33You're battling.
- 29:34You're fighting.
- 29:35The reason I'm doing this podcast is if I can encourage you to take baby steps, crawl,
- 29:41walk, run into adopting biblical principles and values and govern your life by seeking
- 29:49first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things come on you.
- 29:53If I can encourage you just today, take that one step.
- 29:57Don't worry about tomorrow.
- 30:00Don't do not, and this is what I spoke to the orphan children.
- 30:06You do not let your past dictate your future.
- 30:12So what?
- 30:13You're an orphan.
- 30:14I was an orphan.
- 30:16I'm not anymore.
- 30:18I'm a king's kid, and that's what I want people to do.
- 30:22I want their identity and their purpose to be at peace.
- 30:25I want to give away in the Spirit what the Lord has blessed me with because that's a
- 30:30natural cycle of the love.
- 30:32The love of the Father is this.
- 30:34I was reading a Reinhard Bonnke, tremendous evangelist in Africa and all over the world,
- 30:41but one of the things he said, and it was so wise, is this.
- 30:45He said, the Lord is not going to send you finance until you need it.
- 30:52But the thing is, biblically, you're not going to put a demand on the courts of heaven for
- 30:59finance until you start doing what God asks you to do.
- 31:02So there always has to be that faith step.
- 31:04So you take the step first, because a lot of times people wait and say, well, I'll pray,
- 31:08and then when I get this money, I'll do this.
- 31:10I've heard that a long time.
- 31:12It's never worked for me.
- 31:13What happens with me is I've always...
- 31:14It hasn't worked, has it?
- 31:15No, no, I just have to...
- 31:17You see what we do here.
- 31:19We just do it.
- 31:22And so, you have to take that step.
- 31:25So if you can get into a place where you know that God loves you, He's not trying to hurt
- 31:30you, every good and perfect gift comes from above, you're His child, you're His child
- 31:35because He chose you, not because how good you are.
- 31:39I'm not talking about having good Christian behavior because you're to be accepted.
- 31:44I'm talking about having good Christian behavior to protect your dreams, your goals, and your
- 31:48desires, because sin is death.
- 31:51And so, what happens is if every time you sin, then you're gonna have to fight and try
- 31:56to correct the situations that came because of the sin.
- 32:00So it's just better like what I talked about with the golden seeds.
- 32:05If you can control yourself and not do the stupid stuff, you have less cleanup.
- 32:11I guess more of a personal question, maybe...
- 32:14I don't know.
- 32:15I mean, like maybe it's not, or maybe you've never even thought about it, but can you think
- 32:20back to maybe like that first moment or that first part of your life when you're back in
- 32:28ministry, you've started House of David, right?
- 32:32And you started Curt Landry Ministries.
- 32:35And can you remember the first time maybe you got that call or that connection or...
- 32:41You got a thumbs up that it was successful, that a project for orphans in Israel was a
- 32:48success.
- 32:49Can you remember the story or the emotion of like from a personal identity to a goal
- 32:57setting to achieving?
- 33:00Can you remember that time?
- 33:02Well, oh yeah, it's very distinct.
- 33:05We were in our girl's safe house in Jerusalem.
- 33:10And so we were there with Christy and I, and we had some friends with us.
- 33:16And it was our first time in the girl's safe house.
- 33:18So this would have been probably maybe eight or 10 years ago.
- 33:22And one of the girls was there and she basically just said, and it was so real, but it was
- 33:32what was coming out of her.
- 33:34And I can still see her face right now.
- 33:37She said, if it wasn't for this Bridge to Independence program, I would have been dead.
- 33:49And she didn't have to say it.
- 33:50We knew that she would have taken her own life because what was happening, what was
- 33:56so horrible in her life.
- 33:59And the way the Bridge to Independence works is at 18, they come out of the El Adim, our
- 34:03children's program.
- 34:05And the reason we started years ago, Bridge to Independence, is because from 19 to 24,
- 34:10we realized that's when you need the most parenting and making those choices.
- 34:15And so what she was saying, I can still see her, just beautiful young lady, really tiny.
- 34:21I called her Mighty Mouse.
- 34:22She was a Mighty Mouse.
- 34:23She's very successful now.
- 34:25She's a businesswoman.
- 34:26She's killing it.
- 34:29But she was probably about 18 at this time, 19-ish, somewhere.
- 34:33She was just new into the program.
- 34:35And basically what she said, if you didn't provide this, I was going to take my life.
- 34:41I thought, wow, that's why we do this.
- 34:47That's different, isn't it?
- 34:49Yeah.
- 34:50Well, we had some of the elders from House of David with us.
- 34:54And literally, I can see some of their faces.
- 34:57And even one of the men that was with us is their family has foster kids and bring kids
- 35:06in their house, kind of like you and Morgan, that have that heart too.
- 35:12And they just broke when she said it.
- 35:14It was like, OK.
- 35:16And the thing that was great about it, no cameras.
- 35:18This is back in the day when they wouldn't allow us to go in the house and film like
- 35:22we did when you were there.
- 35:23But that kind of cemented it for me where I realized, OK, our ministry, our lives, and
- 35:31what we're doing is successful and it's making a difference.
- 35:34And it's not about numbers.
- 35:36It's not about how much money we raised.
- 35:39This one girl, to hear that, it was like it was worth it.
- 35:47I guess as we get close to wrapping up this episode, I guess really two questions.
- 35:55The second one's pretty easy to kind of transition us out.
- 35:57But the first one, just to kind of wrap up that emotion and that transition point in
- 36:05your personal life and within the ministry, kind of what people know, Curl Andrew Ministries
- 36:10now, did that moment, did that feeling, that emotion, that accomplishment in identity to
- 36:20goals to getting a successful thumbs up right on something that you went out to go do, how
- 36:28did that pivot and move your calling in the direction that it is now?
- 36:36I mean, being able to recognize that win and that goal.
- 36:42Well, one of the things I've observed is that you really go through four seasons.
- 36:48Maybe some people go through more.
- 36:49But my observation is there's four seasons that you go in your identity.
- 36:56And it really comes from a birthing to a service to a maturing and then an impartation.
- 37:03And so I'm in the impartation stage.
- 37:04That's why I'm sitting here.
- 37:07So when you're in the impartation stage and you're older, and I'm a baby boomer, so you're
- 37:13in that stage, what happens is we had a real encounter.
- 37:18We were in a very secret military base this last time we were in Israel during the war.
- 37:30And no civilians are supposed to be there.
- 37:33And they invited us in and we had 250 young soldiers that were there.
- 37:39We barbecued and fixed dinner for them.
- 37:42Anyway, we're all in the dining hall there.
- 37:46And as we're in the dining hall, I didn't say nothing.
- 37:51I was just there.
- 37:52They said, would you share with us?
- 37:56And so here's all these different Israeli men and women, some full time, some reserves.
- 38:07So if there's a reserve, like one of the guys they went dinner across from me was a doctor.
- 38:11Another one was a lawyer, but they're in the reserves.
- 38:14But they asked, see, this was the thing is they, since I'm in the fourth season, they
- 38:19sense it.
- 38:20It's kind of like what this podcast is.
- 38:22They said, would you share something with us?
- 38:25And this is what I shared.
- 38:28I said, you need to understand that the world hates you.
- 38:34We're Jews and that's never going to change.
- 38:39Anti-Semitism, we battle it, but it's never going away.
- 38:42When your God's chosen, the enemy hates you.
- 38:46And if I could impart that to the church, because Jesus told us that they were going
- 38:50to hate us, whether we're Jew or Gentile, because of Him.
- 38:54When you walk in the truth and you carry the Holy Spirit, the darkness hates you.
- 38:57So anyway, these soldiers are there and they're not saved.
- 39:00These are some of religious, some not.
- 39:03They're all over the place.
- 39:04But what I told them, I said, you need to realize that the world hates you.
- 39:07And you think, no, this is a great speech.
- 39:10And I said, and the reason the world hates you is because God loves you.
- 39:14And I said, you're like no other military or first responders.
- 39:20You're like nobody else in the world.
- 39:21You're not like the soldiers in the US or the armies in Europe.
- 39:26You are the IDF.
- 39:27You are the men and women of God.
- 39:29And what you've been called to do is you're the watchman on the wall.
- 39:32In Hebrew, you're the nozzanim.
- 39:34You are the watchmen who are actually performing, protecting, and building Bible prophecy according
- 39:42to the Bible.
- 39:44You're not only performing it and protecting it, but you're the Nehemiah.
- 39:49You're actually rebuilding the wall.
- 39:51And God has empowered you to do that.
- 39:54And don't listen to what, and I just told them, I said, don't listen to it.
- 39:57I went through different networks.
- 39:59It doesn't matter what the woke media says about you.
- 40:02I'm coming to tell you that there is a remnant and those who love the God of Abraham, Isaac,
- 40:07and Jacob, and those who have been grafted in through Jesus Christ, they love you.
- 40:11They support you.
- 40:12They pray for you, and they understand that your identity is that you are modern day warriors
- 40:20like King David protecting God's integrity because God is not a man.
- 40:26He should lie.
- 40:28They literally, Darrell, 250 of them stood to their feet and started screaming, just
- 40:35yeah, yeah, like that.
- 40:38And then they got done and they said, could we bless you?
- 40:41And then one of the ones, this like a rabbi guy, he comes up and he prays the Aaronic
- 40:46ben Ediction over me, you know, the Echacharimai, and he asked me, he says, do you know what
- 40:52that is?
- 40:53I said, yes, I know what that is.
- 40:55And it was so awesome to see that I spoke into, you're not, it's okay that you're hated.
- 41:04This is your job.
- 41:06You're God's chosen people.
- 41:07Now listen, this whole speech probably took 10 minutes and it changed their lives and
- 41:12they just loved it.
- 41:13And so that's what this season of time is for me.
- 41:17And if you're going to follow us on this podcast, I'm in that season of, I want to impart to
- 41:22you your identity because I know this, your identity changes over time with Christ.
- 41:29It always improves.
- 41:32But if you know who you are in him, it's Christ in you that's your hope and glory.
- 41:37If you know that you can do all things through him because he gives you strength.
- 41:41If you know that he gives you wealth because he's trying to establish his covenant promise
- 41:44with you and his desire is that you prosper and he adds no sorrow to it.
- 41:53That's your father.
- 41:54That's what I want to impart to them.
- 41:56Life is not easy.
- 41:57My life's not easy and it's not perfect, but it's a good life.
- 42:03Okay, man.
- 42:09So just touching real quick before we get out of here is that moment when everybody
- 42:15was going nuts and just cheering, you know, I mean like, what was that like for you?
- 42:22I mean, obviously you, you, you gave me a little bit of reaction of what other people
- 42:26had, but you know, like when you say that and, and you, you just break it down biblically
- 42:34on how, you know, the enemy is going to hate God's people, right?
- 42:40It's, it's pretty simple, you know, is it, um, was it, what did it feel like when you're
- 42:49in that moment of, of confirmation of preaching something that is very simple and it should
- 42:57be understood, but, but it's not.
- 42:59And, and, and having that moment with these, with these people that it was life-changing
- 43:05for them, that for, for them to hear the message broken down so simple, that gave them so much
- 43:12encouragement, what was that like for you personally?
- 43:16And like, what was the feeling in your body as it was going on, if you can remember?
- 43:21Well biblically, uh, I, I can't say where I was located, but there, um, I'll just say
- 43:28this, this area is where Joshua actually came in and took the promised land, the actual
- 43:36area.
- 43:39And I literally felt like Joshua rallying the troops saying, you know what, we can take
- 43:47this land.
- 43:48I mean, that's, that's how I felt.
- 43:50And of course I look over and you know, there's my wife and she knows where we're standing
- 43:55and the location and the time and the soldiers.
- 43:59And of course she's such a nana and a mama to them.
- 44:03You know, she's hugging all of them.
- 44:05But while I'm actually get up speaking, she is literally sitting over there, travailing,
- 44:10shaking, crying.
- 44:11One of the soldiers goes over and puts his arm around her and she's just broken because
- 44:17spiritually she goes, oh my gosh, we're preparing Israel to be able to take where we're at this
- 44:25land and these soldiers.
- 44:28And literally when we got done speaking to them, this was late at night, they literally
- 44:32went out on night patrols and do what they do.
- 44:35So I mean, it was like, it was surreal.
- 44:38I felt, it felt biblical.
- 44:40I mean, listen, it changed us.
- 44:45Our, you know, people have asked me and I'll switch gears about identity.
- 44:49Okay.
- 44:50You have one identity, but then you can have an experience.
- 44:52So what happened with Christie and I, and I don't recommend, we're called to do this,
- 44:57but when we went down to the South and we went to the different kibbutzins that have
- 45:06been attacked and ravaged, it changed us.
- 45:16You can't unsee it.
- 45:18You can't unsmell it.
- 45:20You can't hear it.
- 45:22You can't unfeel it.
- 45:24But you asked the Lord, why?
- 45:26I said, Lord, why did you bring us down here to see this?
- 45:30And the Lord said, you can't fight what you can't see.
- 45:36You need to see.
- 45:37And so the scripture when John 10, 10, which I've quoted for years, and it says, and Jesus
- 45:41came to bring life, life more abundantly, but Satan has come to kill, steal and destroy.
- 45:46That's that my identity with what Satan does to kill, steal and destroy.
- 45:52I never understood it until I was at kibbutzgavar and I was standing in the middle of probably
- 46:02the most monstrous human behavior on earth and interviewing people who survived it.
- 46:15But you can't fight the enemy unless you know the enemy.
- 46:19And you can't fight the enemy unless you know who you are.
- 46:23See, the thing is, to the listeners, you're going to have some wars, nothing like that,
- 46:30hopefully, but you're going to have to face some things.
- 46:33And what happens is you need to realize that mightier the he that's in you.
- 46:38He called you.
- 46:41He knew this war was coming on October 7th.
- 46:43He knows what you're facing, let's say on May the 21st, whatever.
- 46:47He knows that.
- 46:49And here's the key is if he knows the storms are coming and if you'll take the simple instruction
- 46:55and build your house, your spiritual life upon the rock and not the sand, when the storm
- 46:59comes, he knows you may suffer some damage, but your house will still be standing and
- 47:05you'll finish and you'll finish well.
