- 0:23Speaker 2: Let's start with Romeo Dawes because he was signed to
- 0:26Speaker 2: think about sixty seconds after we.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Get off here, stretch for that one.
- 0:31Speaker 4: In their heads. They're actually giving us respect. We don't
- 0:34Speaker 4: want to, like step on their show, so we'll wait
- 0:37Speaker 4: with our news until they're done.
- 0:39Speaker 5: Interesting take. So I'm going to give Rabbing a little
- 0:41Speaker 5: bit of credit some of us that don't watch the
- 0:44Speaker 5: film and just know the game. Oh no, the game
- 0:47Speaker 5: by watching it. Yeah once, yeah, not twenty seven times.
- 0:51Speaker 5: When it went bad in Tennessee. The culture went bad
- 0:53Speaker 5: with it because it's hard to have great culture.
- 0:55Speaker 4: When you're not winning. I think Rabel's also a better coach.
- 0:57Speaker 6: Now than he was. That your decisions.
- 1:00Speaker 4: That's why I said I think yes, we will say
- 1:04Speaker 4: is younger? What dos wasn't a trade?
- 1:06Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I know what you what? You gave
- 1:08Speaker 5: him twenty million a year. They traded a lot to
- 1:11Speaker 5: DJ Moore, I mean a pit swamp.
- 1:13Speaker 6: More than the Patriots game up for Dobbs.
- 1:16Speaker 4: I like it.
- 1:16Speaker 6: I don't.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I'm just saying I like it.
- 1:20Speaker 4: I like the thinking. I'm just waiting for you to
- 1:21Speaker 4: say something that makes sense.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I'm not threatened at all by what the Bills are doing,
- 1:26Speaker 2: I think, Josh, because that's your primary rival.
- 1:29Speaker 5: That's what I make their own space in your head.
- 1:31Speaker 2: What you wouldn't give to get to the Super Bowl
- 1:33Speaker 2: and just get blown out like.
- 1:35Speaker 5: You saw, like Johnny Sullivan in selfie, Like I haven't
- 1:39Speaker 5: they sucked?
- 1:40Speaker 1: They would kill to be us. This is Patriots.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website. For deals, buy a
- 1:46Speaker 4: Toyota dot com. All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It
- 1:52Speaker 4: is Tuesday here Let's Stadium, and we're all here Evan, Paul, me, Duce,
- 1:59Speaker 4: Alex and the Boom, and we're talking Patriots for the
- 2:02Speaker 4: next couple hours, as we do every Tuesday and Thursday
- 2:05Speaker 4: in the off season here at Jilette Stadium, on Patriots Unfiltered.
- 2:11Speaker 4: So what do we got, guys? What's on your mind?
- 2:13Speaker 4: What what Patriots subject? I have a non Patriots subject
- 2:16Speaker 4: that I'll bring up a little later. I need some
- 2:18Speaker 4: consumer uh advice nice uh, you know, So we'll get
- 2:22Speaker 4: into that later. But but let's let's uh, let's deal
- 2:25Speaker 4: with the Patriots. What do we got.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I'm just gonna start with Miami just trading Jalen Wadel
- 2:29Speaker 2: the Broncos. I think that's interesting on a number of
- 2:32Speaker 2: different levels.
- 2:33Speaker 5: You know, it's a big trade.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Big trade, Uh, I kind of. I mean I like
- 2:37Speaker 2: it for both teams, to be honest. I think Miami
- 2:40Speaker 2: is clearly turn it down.
- 2:41Speaker 7: To the Studs.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like devon a chance standing around looking with
- 2:47Speaker 2: Malik Wellis. But good trade for Denver. I mean, another
- 2:50Speaker 2: Weddon for them. And I'm sure they're gonna come in
- 2:52Speaker 2: here next year and they're gonna have something to prove
- 2:54Speaker 2: and Jalen Wade is going to be part of that.
- 2:55Speaker 2: So so who is.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Their best receiver? Courtland Sutton the Yeah, so.
- 2:59Speaker 5: I wonder if I want ner, if he'll stay. I
- 3:00Speaker 5: wonder if he'll be on the move. Yeah then yeah,
- 3:05Speaker 5: I agree.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Troy frank for you know, another speed guy for them.
- 3:08Speaker 6: But yeah, I wonder if you know they they played
- 3:11Speaker 6: Franklin and Marvin Mims a lot, and obviously John Waddles
- 3:14Speaker 6: a much better player than both those guys. But yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 6: I mean you could look at it either way. You
- 3:18Speaker 6: can look at it as well a contender in the
- 3:20Speaker 6: a f C just got better, or you could say
- 3:23Speaker 6: looking at the Jets and the Dolphins right now, it
- 3:25Speaker 6: kind of feels like that was m four free wins
- 3:27Speaker 6: for the Patriots next year.
- 3:29Speaker 4: So you know, that's a horse race in the AFCAS.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Depending on which way you want to one horse race, yeah, Patriots?
- 3:36Speaker 5: Or did you forget when I got smacked around last week?
- 3:39Speaker 4: But Mike a little bit, Yeah, but he was talking.
- 3:45Speaker 2: They did little George.
- 3:46Speaker 5: Talking trash about me on the radio this morning too, trash.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I acknowledged that there was an argument.
- 3:52Speaker 5: It was your greatest moment in the show. You smacked
- 3:55Speaker 5: me around, pressing. I also didn't know about Bradley Chubb
- 3:57Speaker 5: when he was telling me, oh, that's deash never mind.
- 4:01Speaker 6: I was surprised to hear I did go back and
- 4:04Speaker 6: listen to the great argument because I heard so much
- 4:06Speaker 6: about it. I just an argument, really, I was surprised.
- 4:09Speaker 5: It was just a beat down by you beat me down.
- 4:12Speaker 6: To concede so much that DJ Moore is better than
- 4:15Speaker 6: Khalil Shakir, because I'm I'm not sure.
- 4:17Speaker 5: Oh, I think he's much better. I don't know if
- 4:19Speaker 5: that's I'm not so sure he's much better, right, He
- 4:22Speaker 5: plays a little bit more on the outside than than
- 4:25Speaker 5: Shakir for sure, But.
- 4:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know. DJ Moore, you know, maybe two
- 4:30Speaker 6: or three years ago is much better if you're getting
- 4:32Speaker 6: that guy. Anyways, This is a side tangent, but I
- 4:35Speaker 6: I just that was the only point that I was like, I.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Just didn't understand why that made him desperate. But he
- 4:40Speaker 5: smacked me around pretty good. You missed it. It was
- 4:44Speaker 5: a great moment.
- 4:45Speaker 6: It was nice to not be in the middle of
- 4:47Speaker 6: one of the arguments.
- 4:48Speaker 4: On the show.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I just think, though, is there a certain point with
- 4:52Speaker 2: some teams where you start to say, you know, we
- 4:54Speaker 2: really haven't gotten a starter out of the last few drafts,
- 4:56Speaker 2: and you know, it's just do you feel that pressure
- 4:59Speaker 2: because having watched this Patriots team miss on drafts, you
- 5:03Speaker 2: had Tom Brady could offset those problems, and then you
- 5:06Speaker 2: didn't have Tom Brady, and then you had all those
- 5:08Speaker 2: problems and you were stuck with.
- 5:10Speaker 5: But as long as right, okay, right, So that's why
- 5:13Speaker 5: I don't think that they're like where you think they are. No,
- 5:17Speaker 5: I just like, in five and twelve Land.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I feel like after this season, where you fire your
- 5:21Speaker 2: coach and you're going to change things up, you're going
- 5:24Speaker 2: to you know, your old head coach was your defensive coordinator,
- 5:27Speaker 2: so you're also changing your defense. Felt like the head
- 5:30Speaker 2: coach you added was kind of a Josh Allen move.
- 5:33Speaker 2: This is Josh's guy. This is so you know, I
- 5:35Speaker 2: don't know. I think I would be more interested in
- 5:38Speaker 2: what the Bills were doing this offseason if they had
- 5:41Speaker 2: gone outside of the box and had said, you know,
- 5:43Speaker 2: we need to change it up a little bit and
- 5:46Speaker 2: not continue to try to put everything on Josh Allen.
- 5:49Speaker 2: And you're right, like they had to go get DJ Moore.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I mean it's in and of itself. I don't mind
- 5:53Speaker 2: the mind things. I think they had to get somebody.
- 5:55Speaker 2: It didn't have to be Dj Moore. But you know, again,
- 5:58Speaker 2: we don't have to make this the but I gave
- 6:01Speaker 2: you the I gave you the t KO.
- 6:03Speaker 5: But that's what I think.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It's more interesting. You look around the league at teams
- 6:06Speaker 2: that you know have bad drafts, and to me, I didn't.
- 6:08Speaker 2: You know, you don't really take notice of it. But
- 6:10Speaker 2: now when I see what a big part that was
- 6:12Speaker 2: of the Patriots struggles from twenty twenty to win.
- 6:15Speaker 5: Yeah, take the win. It doesn't have many every once
- 6:18Speaker 5: in a while, I give.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Him the win to The only criticism I got of
- 6:21Speaker 4: the the argument with the capital T is that you
- 6:25Speaker 4: guys were talking over each other and people couldn't hear
- 6:27Speaker 4: what you were saying.
- 6:28Speaker 6: People complain about that, no, but you know what, it's
- 6:30Speaker 6: a legit concern.
- 6:32Speaker 5: Yeah, sometimes it's like the medium gets a little hot.
- 6:35Speaker 4: It's a little hot, I know, but it's the best part.
- 6:38Speaker 4: If you can't hear what anyone's saying, it's pointless.
- 6:40Speaker 2: So I was making great points that Paul was yelling
- 6:42Speaker 2: over and you do.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Have to let each other talk.
- 6:44Speaker 5: You can hear it.
- 6:45Speaker 4: You can, I'm telling you.
- 6:47Speaker 5: I know, I know. It's the best part of it.
- 6:49Speaker 2: But it's okay, that's all right. Well we'll try to it's.
- 6:52Speaker 5: A good argument.
- 6:54Speaker 6: The interesting part about just the rest of the Like,
- 6:57Speaker 6: I don't know what Miami's doing there. They signed equill
- 7:00Speaker 6: As to this big contract to be their starting quarterback
- 7:02Speaker 6: and they trade all of his weapons away, Like yeah, like,
- 7:06Speaker 6: I'm not really sure.
- 7:07Speaker 4: What they're gonna be. You're gonna have to run a lot.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Like they're like the Dolphins like feel like they want
- 7:12Speaker 6: a tank and they want to be in like a
- 7:14Speaker 6: full rebuild mode. But then why give Malik Willis that
- 7:16Speaker 6: contract if that's.
- 7:18Speaker 2: The route quarterback next year in the draft?
- 7:20Speaker 6: Yeah, Like, it just doesn't make much sense to me.
- 7:23Speaker 6: The Jets are are for some reason bringing back Geno Smith,
- 7:26Speaker 6: which also doesn't really make much sense to me. But
- 7:30Speaker 6: number the combination of those, I think what we saw,
- 7:35Speaker 6: you know a little bit here is like when you
- 7:37Speaker 6: hire a new head coach, like you need to have
- 7:39Speaker 6: some success at some point, like if you're the Jets, Like,
- 7:42Speaker 6: is Aaron Glenn going to get a third season if
- 7:44Speaker 6: the Jets are bad?
- 7:45Speaker 7: Again?
- 7:45Speaker 6: Like it's that's a really tough sell. And you know,
- 7:47Speaker 6: now obviously the Dolphins.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Haven't good questions all around a new coach also, and
- 7:52Speaker 5: it's like, yeah, you'd probably give them a year to
- 7:55Speaker 5: you know, just whether the storm of a rebuild. But
- 7:58Speaker 5: at some point, you know, this is these coaches have
- 8:01Speaker 5: like two or three year shelf lives to kind of
- 8:03Speaker 5: figure the thing out and get some wins on the board. Yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 5: I think those are fair criticisms of both, And I
- 8:08Speaker 5: would just say in my view from a thousand feet
- 8:11Speaker 5: or whatever, I can understand the Jets a little bit
- 8:15Speaker 5: more than what I can the Dolphins, because Evans perfectly.
- 8:19Speaker 5: I mean, like you could have done exactly what Miami's doing,
- 8:23Speaker 5: Strip it to the studs, start over. A lot of
- 8:25Speaker 5: teams have done it, and they you know, it's not
- 8:27Speaker 5: like they're like the Jets where they haven't been good
- 8:29Speaker 5: and relevant in fifteen years. I mean, Miami has been
- 8:33Speaker 5: to the playoffs recently, so you know, they took a shot,
- 8:36Speaker 5: it didn't work, they changed coaches. Okay, you're going to
- 8:39Speaker 5: start over again. I think they have like four third
- 8:41Speaker 5: round picks now, I mean, that's that's kind of a path.
- 8:44Speaker 5: But then you give that contract to Malik Willis, and
- 8:46Speaker 5: I kind of agree with that. Why couldn't you do
- 8:48Speaker 5: that with Quinn yours? You know, it's it's the same thing, right,
- 8:52Speaker 5: So anyway, I didn't understand that with the Jets for
- 8:57Speaker 5: the same reason that Evan said. Now, Aaron in his
- 9:00Speaker 5: second year, they signed a bunch of veteran free agents
- 9:04Speaker 5: to very short term contracts. I can sort of understand, Okay,
- 9:09Speaker 5: let's get Gino Smith in here, because we're not going
- 9:12Speaker 5: to be a playoff team this year. But is it
- 9:15Speaker 5: important for them to not go three and fourteen and
- 9:17Speaker 5: maybe go six and eleven, seven and ten.
- 9:21Speaker 6: What was the Raiders record last year with Gino Smith?
- 9:23Speaker 5: No, no, no, I know, if he plays the way he
- 9:26Speaker 5: played last year, it's going to be a disaster. A
- 9:28Speaker 5: lot of people think that that offense just did not
- 9:30Speaker 5: fit him and he could be a little bit more
- 9:32Speaker 5: like he wasn't.
- 9:33Speaker 6: Seeing Allen in that offense.
- 9:36Speaker 5: If he throws twenty interceptions, like they're going to be
- 9:38Speaker 5: in trouble.
- 9:39Speaker 6: Yeah, But like I don't know, I guess Breist Hall,
- 9:42Speaker 6: Garrett Wilson, Bowers genty Like we could debate which ones
- 9:46Speaker 6: better in terms of set.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Up, but neither one of them is loaded.
- 9:49Speaker 6: The Jets have a little bit of better offensive line. Probably,
- 9:51Speaker 6: I just if I have the Jets, And I think
- 9:54Speaker 6: the only our argument or reason why is because maybe
- 9:57Speaker 6: they're nobody's really interested in playing for the Jets very much,
- 10:01Speaker 6: and so this could be why. But like you look
- 10:03Speaker 6: at Tua and Kyler Murray as guys that are available,
- 10:06Speaker 6: and at least there's like some ceiling to that.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Like if you would ask me those choices, I would
- 10:11Speaker 5: have you know, would have been Tua and Kyler Murray
- 10:14Speaker 5: every day of the week. Yeah, now, but I don't
- 10:16Speaker 5: think that they were. Kyler Murray's going to be starting
- 10:18Speaker 5: from Minnesota. I don't think that he was legitimately even
- 10:21Speaker 5: going to the Jets.
- 10:22Speaker 6: I'm not sure about that.
- 10:24Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure you think that he's.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Going to just purely breed out JJ McCarthy.
- 10:29Speaker 5: I mean, I think if you listen to anything Kevin
- 10:31Speaker 5: O'Connell said over the weekend, I think the writing's on
- 10:34Speaker 5: the wall there.
- 10:35Speaker 6: I mean, that's that's already burning that draft pick with
- 10:38Speaker 6: two three years into it.
- 10:39Speaker 5: I think, so that's rough. I didn't say it was fair.
- 10:43Speaker 5: I'm just saying I'm not saying it.
- 10:44Speaker 6: I don't care about the fairness of it all. It's
- 10:46Speaker 6: just that's that's a bad look. I get the bad
- 10:48Speaker 6: look to draft the guy, I mean the top ten.
- 10:50Speaker 5: And then your guy San Francisco did the same thing,
- 10:54Speaker 5: and I think he was right.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Interesting people still believe in Kevin O'Connell though, because move
- 11:00Speaker 2: for Kyler Murray to go there and play with Kevin O'Connell.
- 11:03Speaker 2: But yet they're not giving any criticism to Kevin O'Connell
- 11:05Speaker 2: for failing to develop JJ McCarthy. You know, like he
- 11:08Speaker 2: still seems kind of bulletproof based on that movie.
- 11:11Speaker 5: So I don't know how much he had to do
- 11:13Speaker 5: with acquiring JJ McCarthy. I'm going to put the blame
- 11:15Speaker 5: on JJ McCarthy's lack of development on JJ McCarthy. On
- 11:18Speaker 5: account of every other quarterback Kevin O'Connell is touched has
- 11:22Speaker 5: been pretty successful. This is the one who can't seem
- 11:25Speaker 5: to do anything. So I'm going to blame the player.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Not wonder if it was Adolpha Mensa that they left
- 11:30Speaker 2: go of.
- 11:31Speaker 5: He's kind again on the table. Oh yeah, it could be, yeah, yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 5: because maybe he was leading the PFF rankings, you know,
- 11:38Speaker 5: that's how he was drafted him. But back to Evans Guy,
- 11:40Speaker 5: I would say the same thing about Shanahan, Like pretty
- 11:43Speaker 5: much every quarterback that he's plugged Dack Jones has worked
- 11:46Speaker 5: except for Trey Lance. Yeah, so I'm going to put
- 11:50Speaker 5: the blame on Trey Lance. Now, Trey Lance is a
- 11:52Speaker 5: little different because he constantly was hurt San Francisco. Y.
- 11:55Speaker 6: Lance never got off the runway. He never got he
- 11:58Speaker 6: never left the gate, you know, like his whole career
- 12:00Speaker 6: are just.
- 12:00Speaker 5: Kind of McCarthy also dealt with a lot of injuries too,
- 12:03Speaker 5: so it just.
- 12:04Speaker 6: Is a weird. The Dolphins to me is super weird.
- 12:07Speaker 6: The Jets to me, I still don't really know.
- 12:09Speaker 5: How we're getting today.
- 12:10Speaker 6: I agree with you, how are we winning games? Like
- 12:12Speaker 6: at some point you have to win games like you can't.
- 12:15Speaker 6: Like it's nice to say, oh, we're just going to
- 12:16Speaker 6: keep picking in the top ten until it turns around,
- 12:19Speaker 6: but we know that that's not going to last very
- 12:21Speaker 6: long for any of these people that you know are
- 12:24Speaker 6: coach just general managers. Whatever.
- 12:26Speaker 2: It's seven free agents on defense that it seems like
- 12:29Speaker 2: they're going to try to plug in. I know one
- 12:30Speaker 2: of them was trade, but like Sweat from Tennessee was
- 12:32Speaker 2: a trade on Ya Mada at tackle Angare to Mario
- 12:37Speaker 2: Davis's back. Joseph Naseean Wright on.
- 12:40Speaker 4: The Lads, I ordered my draft guide yesterdays has great depth, charts,
- 12:46Speaker 4: great great depth, best step start.
- 12:48Speaker 6: But like all those guys in theory, could you know,
- 12:51Speaker 6: get them back to a level of competency by signing
- 12:54Speaker 6: all those players? But like the Patriots did the same thing,
- 12:57Speaker 6: but they had Drake May So like you knew that
- 12:59Speaker 6: the upside was there, but Gino Smith, there's no upside
- 13:02Speaker 6: Like he's already very much shown the last two years
- 13:05Speaker 6: at its downside if anything, with his game. So I hey,
- 13:09Speaker 6: as a Patriots fan, you should feel great about it.
- 13:12Speaker 6: Like the Patriots, I mean, really, they're gonna get you know,
- 13:14Speaker 6: they should be three and one, four and oh against
- 13:16Speaker 6: the Jets and Dolphins next year pretty easily.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Do you think you do one of those get a
- 13:21Speaker 2: shot at Ty Simpson? Is that of interest to them?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Do you wait till next year and see with what
- 13:26Speaker 2: Manning's probably gonna come out next year? I would guess
- 13:28Speaker 2: maybe he'll be in that mix.
- 13:29Speaker 6: Yeah, they're the draft next year. Is supposed to be
- 13:31Speaker 6: a little bit better at quarterback, you know, the kid
- 13:33Speaker 6: from Oregon Arch Manning, you know, but I don't know.
- 13:37Speaker 6: I mean, Ty Simpson to me is like a guy
- 13:39Speaker 6: that needs to be in one of those KOC Kyle
- 13:42Speaker 6: Shanahan Sean McVay systems where they kind of just are
- 13:46Speaker 6: asking him to press the right buttons on the controller
- 13:48Speaker 6: and not do much of the heavy lifting. Yeah, which
- 13:51Speaker 6: you know, I don't know if these teams are set
- 13:54Speaker 6: up for him to be able to do that. But
- 13:56Speaker 6: someone's gonna I would say, someone at the top of
- 13:58Speaker 6: that second round. As there's a answered Ty Simpson. You know,
- 14:01Speaker 6: they're not going to take the quarterback in the first
- 14:03Speaker 6: round because it's just really Mendoza. So you know the
- 14:05Speaker 6: Cardinals teams like that, Like, are they you know, thinking
- 14:09Speaker 6: Ty Simpson at the top of the second round?
- 14:10Speaker 2: The Steelers maybe like down near the bottom of the
- 14:12Speaker 2: first maybe you get there and take a chance on them.
- 14:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Yeah, this whole quarterback development thing going on has the
- 14:20Speaker 4: value of a good OC slash quarterback coach gone way
- 14:25Speaker 4: up in the NFL.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I think it's a valuable resource. I mean it's you know,
- 14:29Speaker 2: Josh McDaniels now is obviously in that conversation, Kevin O'Connell, shanahan,
- 14:34Speaker 2: you know, the Rams McVeigh. There's not a lot though.
- 14:37Speaker 4: I mean, you need someone like That's why I put
- 14:39Speaker 4: quarterback coach with coordinator. He can't be just an excell note.
- 14:42Speaker 4: You've got to be able to take a young quarterback
- 14:45Speaker 4: and develop them and look at their strengths and weaknesses
- 14:48Speaker 4: and work with that. You know, it's not just calling
- 14:51Speaker 4: the plays.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's one of I mean, it's interesting with Josh
- 14:53Speaker 2: getting his opportunity with the Raiders after developing Mac Jones.
- 14:56Speaker 2: You see it a lot like a guy has a
- 14:58Speaker 2: good year and he goes on to at opportunities. I
- 15:01Speaker 2: thought that might lead to someone like Thomas Brown getting
- 15:03Speaker 2: an opportunity this year, or you know, I know Ashton
- 15:05Speaker 2: Grant or reportedly was you know, reached out to by
- 15:07Speaker 2: the Raiders as well. But you know, look at the
- 15:09Speaker 2: guys like Liam Cohen, like the offensive coordinators around the
- 15:12Speaker 2: league who have a couple of good years and then
- 15:15Speaker 2: but I think there's, like you said, Fred, there's something
- 15:16Speaker 2: special about being able to take a quarterback and really
- 15:20Speaker 2: develop them and mold them. And you know, I think
- 15:22Speaker 2: Kevin O'Connell is just it's great. Like I just when
- 15:25Speaker 2: we were out there the Vikings, I thought, he's just
- 15:27Speaker 2: the kind of coach that seems like a really good
- 15:29Speaker 2: quarterback coach played it and you know, just knows what
- 15:32Speaker 2: he wants and you can see why. That's why I
- 15:35Speaker 2: was so surprised they had a bad year last year
- 15:36Speaker 2: because when we were out there, it felt like these
- 15:38Speaker 2: guys are checking all the boxes as far as like
- 15:40Speaker 2: the coaching staff and you know, Brian Flores on defense,
- 15:43Speaker 2: and it seemed like they were.
- 15:44Speaker 5: Really stay fished with a record.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yeah god, that's I mean, did they win like six games?
- 15:48Speaker 4: Nine? They won nine games?
- 15:50Speaker 5: Yeah, year when you're a good coach.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Funny, Yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 6: I think that the one of the things that you know,
- 15:57Speaker 6: we see a lot of now is just like these
- 16:00Speaker 6: quarterback gurus OC's like they're all head coaches, Like they
- 16:03Speaker 6: all get made head coaches, and so you have this
- 16:07Speaker 6: churn of you know, even like Joe Brady getting promoted
- 16:10Speaker 6: to head coach in Buffalo, where it's like unless you
- 16:13Speaker 6: have the Josh McDaniel situation, where it's just this perfect
- 16:16Speaker 6: storm of this guy's failed a couple of times as
- 16:19Speaker 6: the head coach and now he's available to be in
- 16:21Speaker 6: OC and there's runway to it. Like most of the
- 16:24Speaker 6: time it's Liam Cohene, like Baker Mayfield's like four coordinators
- 16:27Speaker 6: and like five years with Tampa Bay or something like that,
- 16:30Speaker 6: because they keep on just getting hired away as head coaches.
- 16:33Speaker 6: So I think that's the tough part is that a
- 16:35Speaker 6: lot of these guys end up graduating really quickly to
- 16:39Speaker 6: the head coach ranks because of how good they are
- 16:41Speaker 6: with offenses and quarterbacks and all that kind of stuff,
- 16:44Speaker 6: And so now all these dudes are head coaches and
- 16:47Speaker 6: there's not as many OC quarterback coaches, you know, to
- 16:51Speaker 6: go around, which I think is is tough.
- 16:53Speaker 2: What about Kingsbury, Like he's what he went to San
- 16:55Speaker 2: Frano now, right is that?
- 16:56Speaker 6: Where where did he end up? He's I don't even
- 16:58Speaker 6: He's another.
- 16:58Speaker 2: One of those guys though, is kind of kicking around
- 17:01Speaker 2: right now, and I feel like he would be due
- 17:04Speaker 2: for another opportunity based on everything you said. Yeah, I
- 17:07Speaker 2: guess proof is in the pudding though, And you got
- 17:09Speaker 2: I don't know what.
- 17:09Speaker 6: Happened with them in Washington, Like he kind of got
- 17:12Speaker 6: scapegoated in Washington. I felt like a little bit like
- 17:14Speaker 6: their quarterback got hurt and they they had a bad season.
- 17:18Speaker 6: You know, it's not ideal, but I don't if Jayden
- 17:21Speaker 6: Daniels had played all year last year, I don't think
- 17:23Speaker 6: Cliff Kingsbury loses his job in Washington.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Assistant head coach to the Rams.
- 17:28Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a weird one. You know, maybe caught back
- 17:31Speaker 6: to college for him, doesn't seem like the NFL is.
- 17:35Speaker 2: He had all that hype when he went to Arizona
- 17:37Speaker 2: and like he was one of those guys and even
- 17:40Speaker 2: when I mean we lost wed him.
- 17:42Speaker 6: Yeah, he's one of those guys that, yeah, they he
- 17:45Speaker 6: tends to come out of the gate hot with a
- 17:48Speaker 6: lot of you know, new fresh ideas that are catered
- 17:51Speaker 6: to the quarterback, and then once they get into like November, December, January,
- 17:55Speaker 6: like there's a cliff that comes for him and he
- 17:57Speaker 6: falls off it.
- 17:58Speaker 4: Okay. Patriots news came out recently Terrell Williams was named
- 18:03Speaker 4: assistant head coach. So we were wondering, you know, with
- 18:07Speaker 4: the elevation of Zach Core to the defensive coordinator, what
- 18:10Speaker 4: was going to happen with Terrell Williams. I think that's
- 18:12Speaker 4: a good position for him. He's he's part of, you know, uh,
- 18:18Speaker 4: maintaining the culture.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I think he's going to be great in that way. Yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 2: yeah'd be interesting what his day to day is. Is
- 18:24Speaker 2: he's still more involved with the defense. Is he you know,
- 18:27Speaker 2: dabble in both sides of the ball. I mean, I
- 18:28Speaker 2: think he's longtime defensive line coach, so that's clearly where
- 18:32Speaker 2: his expertise lies. But I still feel bad for him.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I just I feel like he finally got an opportunity
- 18:37Speaker 2: to be the defensive coordinator call the plays, and I
- 18:40Speaker 2: felt like he had been building to that point for
- 18:41Speaker 2: a long time in his career and then health issues
- 18:44Speaker 2: derailed him. And not to say that assistant head coach
- 18:46Speaker 2: isn't pretty cool and still an accomplishment, but I wonder
- 18:49Speaker 2: if there's part to him that's just disappointed you didn't
- 18:52Speaker 2: get to be that guy on the playo, you know,
- 18:54Speaker 2: really putting his print on that defense. And that's something
- 18:58Speaker 2: we don't really know. Maybe we'll see today and fors
- 19:00Speaker 2: and Fox Grow episode four coming out today, right for it?
- 19:02Speaker 4: Yeah, later today, we're gonna drop episode four. I think
- 19:08Speaker 4: fans are gonna really love it, but a little warning.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Put some time aside because it's not short. But you
- 19:14Speaker 4: don't have to all, you know, listen or watch it
- 19:17Speaker 4: in all in one sitting. But it's it's a great,
- 19:21Speaker 4: great uh, but you'll want to Yeah, great testimony testimonial
- 19:26Speaker 4: to the last season. A lot of behind the scenes
- 19:29Speaker 4: stuff never before seen. So I can't wait for it
- 19:32Speaker 4: to drop.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Did you find it was a hard episode to put
- 19:35Speaker 2: together because of the ending? I mean, you kind of
- 19:38Speaker 2: have to figure out how to manage a disappointing performance
- 19:41Speaker 2: in the Super Bowl.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Well, I don't want to give it away. They don't win,
- 19:44Speaker 4: but no, no, I win or lose the Super Bowl.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Obviously we were gonna come out with this episode and
- 19:52Speaker 4: I think we already knew what the ending how we
- 19:55Speaker 4: wanted to end it, win or lose. So I think
- 20:00Speaker 4: people will see it and let them judge themselves and
- 20:03Speaker 4: then we'll talk about it afterwards. Yeah, well, we'll do
- 20:05Speaker 4: a breakdown like we did with the other episodes and
- 20:08Speaker 4: let people have their critiques and opinions on it, and
- 20:11Speaker 4: we'll talk about it. Yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 2: The point I was trying to make too though with
- 20:14Speaker 2: just that is what was Terrell Williams kind of role
- 20:16Speaker 2: this year? And you know, how did he assimilate back
- 20:19Speaker 2: into the team. And I think he still was one
- 20:21Speaker 2: of those guys presenting to the defense, and you know,
- 20:25Speaker 2: he always talks like they want to play, like that
- 20:27Speaker 2: effort and finish thing, Like I just see Terrell Williams
- 20:29Speaker 2: seems like such a motivator and a guy who's fired
- 20:31Speaker 2: up in that regard, and I hopefully, I mean, I
- 20:34Speaker 2: don't know, maybe there's some footage of him talking on
- 20:36Speaker 2: the team would be pretty cool.
- 20:37Speaker 6: But yeah, we talked of Rabel at the combine, he's
- 20:40Speaker 6: kind of outligned with us too, like a little bit
- 20:43Speaker 6: more about the role is going to be very defense heavy,
- 20:46Speaker 6: very defense focused. But he mentioned you know, defensive line
- 20:49Speaker 6: and development on the defensive line, some coordinating type of
- 20:54Speaker 6: responsibilities in terms of, you know, making sure the front
- 20:56Speaker 6: is you know, kind of quality control type stuff up front.
- 21:01Speaker 6: And then he also mentioned what you said, Fred, like
- 21:03Speaker 6: being an extension of Mike Rabel and carrying that culture
- 21:07Speaker 6: and making sure that everybody around the building is pulling
- 21:10Speaker 6: in the right direction and doing the right things and
- 21:13Speaker 6: preparing the right way and all that kind of stuff.
- 21:15Speaker 6: But I think that this is as much as you know,
- 21:18Speaker 6: I hear what Deuce is saying about how unfortunate it
- 21:21Speaker 6: was that he kind of lost the opportunity. It kind
- 21:23Speaker 6: of feels like this role is sort of like what
- 21:26Speaker 6: he's really kind of meant to be doing. Whereas like
- 21:28Speaker 6: Zach Korr, I think is one of these guys that
- 21:31Speaker 6: is one of these up and coming play callers that
- 21:33Speaker 6: you know, has that sort of mind for the game
- 21:35Speaker 6: and that sort of thing, Whereas I think Terrell Williams
- 21:38Speaker 6: is like a mentor type, you know, someone that's really
- 21:41Speaker 6: there to develop not only players on the field, but
- 21:44Speaker 6: also them as humans and you know, develop them as
- 21:47Speaker 6: pros and you know, culture building and like all that
- 21:51Speaker 6: kind of stuff. So in a way I kind of
- 21:53Speaker 6: feel like it works perfectly to have those two guys together,
- 21:56Speaker 6: that Terrell Williams is going to be able to do
- 21:59Speaker 6: most of that, and then Zach Korr is going to
- 22:02Speaker 6: be the one kind of in the trenches calling the play.
- 22:04Speaker 2: See a really good story. Though, to talk to him
- 22:07Speaker 2: this year about what is you know, going through what
- 22:10Speaker 2: he went through last year, how does that change you
- 22:12Speaker 2: and what is his perspective on coaching now, I mean
- 22:15Speaker 2: it's a.
- 22:16Speaker 4: Tough probably appreciates it's more more than ever. Yeah, I
- 22:21Speaker 4: did want to talk about one email that came in
- 22:24Speaker 4: on Sunday. Usually I don't, you know, uh, talk about
- 22:28Speaker 4: emails that come in outside of the show. But anyway,
- 22:32Speaker 4: this is from Simon and it's a long email, so
- 22:34Speaker 4: I'm not going to read it all. The bottom line
- 22:36Speaker 4: is he felt that he loves the show, but he
- 22:39Speaker 4: felt that over last year we became really one sided
- 22:43Speaker 4: to the positive, like we weren't as balanced as we
- 22:47Speaker 4: have been in the past, and like I was thinking
- 22:50Speaker 4: about it, I was like, oh, like it was a
- 22:51Speaker 4: good season that like everything was like you know, coming
- 22:56Speaker 4: up roses. So like, I don't know if there was
- 22:58Speaker 4: a lot to you know, be negative about. So yeah,
- 23:03Speaker 4: I think I don't know if you guys have any
- 23:06Speaker 4: thoughts on that.
- 23:07Speaker 6: It's pretty like, I mean, they went fourteen and three
- 23:09Speaker 6: and made the Super Bowl. The quarterback was the runout
- 23:12Speaker 6: for MVP the coach one Coach of the Year. Like now,
- 23:15Speaker 6: I mean we came on here. I feel like after
- 23:17Speaker 6: every game and had our grievances and had our gripes
- 23:19Speaker 6: with certain things a catchwany do we do the good,
- 23:23Speaker 6: the bad, the stuff that gets you beat. So there
- 23:24Speaker 6: was plenty of times where we'd get to the stuff
- 23:27Speaker 6: that gets you beat and I'd be like, they beat
- 23:30Speaker 6: the Titans by three touchdowns. I don't really have much
- 23:32Speaker 6: this week, Like what do you.
- 23:33Speaker 4: Want me to say? Like I mean he said, you know,
- 23:35Speaker 4: we didn't really talk about Dig's legal issues. Well, I mean,
- 23:38Speaker 4: like what do we know? You know, Like what's the
- 23:41Speaker 4: point there? Like he was, He's saying one thing, and
- 23:45Speaker 4: you know, you just go with his words and it's
- 23:47Speaker 4: a legal thing until it gets sorted out. There's really
- 23:50Speaker 4: nothing to talk about cause you're gonna be just wrong
- 23:54Speaker 4: most of the time. And he said it even goes
- 23:57Speaker 4: for the segments like the good, the bad, and the injured.
- 24:00Speaker 4: What used to be a genuinely balanced breakdown now feels
- 24:03Speaker 4: like the bad section has almost disappeared entirely, even when
- 24:09Speaker 4: there's clearly room for it. There were plenty of bad
- 24:11Speaker 4: discussions even when we were winning with Brady like, do
- 24:14Speaker 4: you feel that way? I don't know.
- 24:17Speaker 5: A little, but I would just say when you go from,
- 24:22Speaker 5: you know, four and thirteen to fourteen and three, I
- 24:26Speaker 5: think the proportion of your analysis should adjust accordingly. I mean,
- 24:32Speaker 5: you didn't like go nine to eight where every game
- 24:35Speaker 5: could have gone, you know, like they went fourteen and three.
- 24:38Speaker 5: There was a period of time like in the middle
- 24:41Speaker 5: of the season when was was it the ten a
- 24:45Speaker 5: ten game winning streak? When how much time are we
- 24:48Speaker 5: spending on the problems? Like to me, the biggest problem
- 24:52Speaker 5: at some point, like in November and December was competition
- 24:56Speaker 5: and that ended up bearing out and when we got
- 24:59Speaker 5: to the playoffs, I think we spent a little more
- 25:01Speaker 5: time on the bad. Yeah, you know, after some of
- 25:04Speaker 5: the postseason wins, even because like the offensive line struggles,
- 25:09Speaker 5: the offense in general struggles, they couldn't run the ball
- 25:12Speaker 5: in short yardage. I mean, I think, yeah, there was
- 25:14Speaker 5: some stuff to talk about, but I mean, when you
- 25:16Speaker 5: go fourteen to three and go to the super Bowl,
- 25:18Speaker 5: yeah we're more positive.
- 25:19Speaker 4: But it's not even just that. It's you went fourteen
- 25:22Speaker 4: to three coming off two four to win seasons. So
- 25:24Speaker 4: the story was how did this happen? Had to be
- 25:28Speaker 4: good things that happened, so like it's only natural to
- 25:31Speaker 4: like focus and want to get those answers, like what's
- 25:34Speaker 4: going right here? Why is this happening, rather than dwell
- 25:37Speaker 4: on the negative, which to me would have seemed forced. Yeah,
- 25:41Speaker 4: Like if you're forcing negative just so that people think
- 25:44Speaker 4: you're balanced, I think that would be disingenuous, because, like
- 25:50Speaker 4: I said, you just came off two four win seasons,
- 25:53Speaker 4: the bottom of the league, and now you're at the
- 25:55Speaker 4: top of the league. That's the story.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, I think two of Week one two years
- 26:00Speaker 2: ago when they beat the Bengals, and I remember that
- 26:02Speaker 2: postgame show where the general sentiment was this isn't going
- 26:05Speaker 2: to be good enough. This is you're not going to
- 26:07Speaker 2: be able to string together these kind of games. I
- 26:09Speaker 2: also think about some of the criticism that we gave
- 26:12Speaker 2: Drake during the postgame show, and sometimes just by not
- 26:14Speaker 2: putting him on the good list, not even putting him
- 26:16Speaker 2: on the bad list, that people were you know, sometimes
- 26:18Speaker 2: annoyed with us that we didn't think he had a
- 26:21Speaker 2: great game or you know. But again, they lost three games.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Two of them were in the first three weeks, and
- 26:26Speaker 2: the other one they blew a lead against Josh Allen.
- 26:29Speaker 2: I mean, that was kind of it. I would say, though,
- 26:31Speaker 2: on the playoff games, I feel like we were pretty honest.
- 26:34Speaker 5: I thought we spent a lot of time on the
- 26:36Speaker 5: bad list, even in victory in some of those postseason games,
- 26:41Speaker 5: because they didn't play as well as they had been
- 26:43Speaker 5: and there were more issues to be concerned about.
- 26:46Speaker 2: We didn't get to do the Super Bowl postgame show
- 26:48Speaker 2: that would have been pretty naked.
- 26:50Speaker 5: That would.
- 26:52Speaker 4: Justin would agree said. Going off of memory, I felt
- 26:55Speaker 4: you guys were very balanced. When there were issues, all
- 26:58Speaker 4: of you were never afraid to bring them up, and
- 27:00Speaker 4: all the positives were covered fairly well. We just went
- 27:02Speaker 4: three straight years below five hundred negativity, be damn. You
- 27:05Speaker 4: guys are always very fair all around. So I have
- 27:08Speaker 4: to strongly disagree with Simon.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I mean, I just hope that we are with football
- 27:12Speaker 2: and you know, look, it's a special situation where somebody
- 27:16Speaker 2: gets pinched and we can't be the ones to jump
- 27:19Speaker 2: to outrage and how could he do this? Because what
- 27:21Speaker 2: happened with Diggs's situation, it got thrown out. So anything
- 27:25Speaker 2: we said is sorry, but it's still going on. Well
- 27:28Speaker 2: bar wars. You know, this is an example. You know,
- 27:30Speaker 2: see you never know, you never know, and we can't
- 27:33Speaker 2: be the ones to sit here and you know, kill
- 27:35Speaker 2: the players over something that we don't have the information.
- 27:37Speaker 2: It's great on Paul shows, they can do it. They
- 27:39Speaker 2: get you know, plenty of red meat out of it,
- 27:41Speaker 2: as they should. But you know, that's the one limitation
- 27:44Speaker 2: I feel like we have being in the business book.
- 27:46Speaker 2: If you want to talk about football good and the bad,
- 27:48Speaker 2: I don't think anything's off the table.
- 27:49Speaker 6: Yeah, and that was you know, somebody that like started
- 27:52Speaker 6: outside and came inside.
- 27:53Speaker 8: Like.
- 27:54Speaker 6: The one thing that does like sometimes irk me is
- 27:56Speaker 6: when people are like, well you have to be positive,
- 27:58Speaker 6: and it's like no, not really, liketball, there's stuff that
- 28:03Speaker 6: are that's maybe out of bounds, like Deuce is talking
- 28:05Speaker 6: about in terms of the legal stuff, that's just you know,
- 28:08Speaker 6: not in our best interest to necessarily be speculating and
- 28:12Speaker 6: all that kind of stuff. But I don't feel like
- 28:15Speaker 6: when it comes to football, like there's ever been like
- 28:18Speaker 6: big limitations of like being able to say they'd played
- 28:21Speaker 6: poorly this week, or this didn't go as well, or
- 28:23Speaker 6: that player didn't play as well or whatever. And so
- 28:26Speaker 6: you know, sometimes I do feel like that's almost like
- 28:29Speaker 6: a preconceived notion of what the show is like, because
- 28:32Speaker 6: you know, it is a team podcast, and so then.
- 28:35Speaker 2: People be surprised when they listen, like, wow, you know,
- 28:38Speaker 2: I've heard that moment.
- 28:39Speaker 6: I've heard that, you know, people that are, you know,
- 28:42Speaker 6: my counterparts at other teams. When we go to places
- 28:45Speaker 6: like the Combine and stuff like that, people are always
- 28:48Speaker 6: shocked by how brutally honest they let us be.
- 28:51Speaker 4: So this is for you, Simon. The Patriots offense didn't
- 28:55Speaker 4: play well in the Super Bowl? Happy now, happy.
- 28:59Speaker 5: Any of the four playoff games? Okay, wait a minute, now.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Whoa whoa whoa?
- 29:05Speaker 6: Texans was better?
- 29:07Speaker 4: Henry was all right? Anthony says it should be celebrated
- 29:10Speaker 4: for years to come. Talking about us was one hundred
- 29:12Speaker 4: percent right in the argument, and I was shocked to
- 29:15Speaker 4: see Paul shot to see Paul on the opposing side.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Give big deuces. Deserve respect and kudos to Paul for
- 29:21Speaker 4: owning it as.
- 29:22Speaker 5: Usual because it wasn't Fred, I'd still be arguing if
- 29:25Speaker 5: it was fresh now, I did not know about Bradley Chubb.
- 29:29Speaker 5: That's a desperation wolf, I have to say, that's the
- 29:32Speaker 5: that's reeks of desperation. I just don't think the bills
- 29:35Speaker 5: are done, that's all.
- 29:36Speaker 6: They're not done because Josh, they're done now.
- 29:38Speaker 2: I think they're starting to feel the pressure a little bit.
- 29:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I don't.
- 29:41Speaker 6: Think about Michael B. Jordan winning Best Actor though tough.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Chris in New Hampshire wants to talk about A. J.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Brown and I guess the latest on A. J. Brown
- 29:50Speaker 4: is everything's going to be kind of on the back
- 29:52Speaker 4: burner until June, which is kind of what we thought
- 29:57Speaker 4: because of the financial implications.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I'm just wondering how much competition is there right now,
- 30:03Speaker 2: how many teams are really after AJ Brown's Broncos were
- 30:06Speaker 2: supposedly the other the late team that I heard, so
- 30:08Speaker 2: what you know, what the market.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Depends on the Eagles if they lower the price, and
- 30:12Speaker 4: I think more teams will be interested.
- 30:14Speaker 6: I think negotiating with Howie Roseman is maybe one of
- 30:16Speaker 6: the most frustrating things in the world.
- 30:20Speaker 4: Smelling himself a little bit.
- 30:21Speaker 6: I get the sense that he has his birdies in
- 30:24Speaker 6: the media that he's using to try to create a
- 30:27Speaker 6: trade market for AJ Brown that I don't think really
- 30:30Speaker 6: currently exists. Like now, all of a sudden, the Rams
- 30:32Speaker 6: were like super interested in AJ Brown and it just
- 30:35Speaker 6: happened that that was reported at the same time that
- 30:38Speaker 6: Dallas Goddard's deadline for his contract avoiding was coming up.
- 30:41Speaker 6: And then all of a sudden on Friday of last week,
- 30:44Speaker 6: there's all this a J Brown scuttle but like they
- 30:46Speaker 6: gotta make a decision here and then you know, nothing happens.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Russini came in hot with it, like you know, decisions
- 30:52Speaker 2: gonna be made, and then I was like, and no
- 30:53Speaker 2: decision is going to be made.
- 30:54Speaker 6: Yeah, what's going on? It just this is all him playing,
- 30:59Speaker 6: you know.
- 30:59Speaker 4: I mean, the really built him up to be like
- 31:02Speaker 4: this master. He's a great naker and like, you know,
- 31:05Speaker 4: watch out you make a deal with him, check your
- 31:07Speaker 4: pockets after because he's gonna fleece you, And I think
- 31:10Speaker 4: maybe he's kind of like himself bought into that a
- 31:13Speaker 4: little bit. It just get that sense, what.
- 31:14Speaker 5: Would you what would you be willing to trade? If
- 31:16Speaker 5: you were Philadelphia? What would you be willing to accept
- 31:20Speaker 5: first and something else? But no one's offering that? So
- 31:23Speaker 5: is that him smelling his farts?
- 31:24Speaker 4: How do you know? We aren't?
- 31:26Speaker 5: I'm just saying I don't. I wouldn't give him away.
- 31:27Speaker 5: I think he's I think he's right to be holding out.
- 31:30Speaker 5: I think today's trade is another sort of push into
- 31:34Speaker 5: that direction. Jalen Wattle just got a first and a
- 31:37Speaker 5: third plus a fourth round pick swap. I like Jalen
- 31:40Speaker 5: Wattle a lot. I think he's probably a better player
- 31:43Speaker 5: right now than A J. Brown is. But AJ Brown
- 31:45Speaker 5: has had a more accomplished career. So if I were
- 31:48Speaker 5: Howie Roseman, I wouldn't give him away. I think a
- 31:50Speaker 5: lot of people are criticizing the Eagles for not quote
- 31:53Speaker 5: being serious about trading him. Well, you just said Howie
- 31:56Speaker 5: Roseman might be smelling his own farts. I mean, I
- 31:58Speaker 5: think he's doing the right thing.
- 32:00Speaker 4: I don't.
- 32:00Speaker 5: I'm not giving away an asset for nothing.
- 32:02Speaker 6: That was That was my point is like it's annoying
- 32:05Speaker 6: to negotiate with him because he's right.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Didn't he want two first round picks and a player.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Yeah, but like that we're starting, but you're but you're
- 32:13Speaker 5: also just like talking about a guy that's just not
- 32:15Speaker 5: going to back down from his asking price.
- 32:18Speaker 6: And so like he's one of these gms. It's not
- 32:21Speaker 6: going to lose a trade. He's just not going to
- 32:23Speaker 6: lose the trade.
- 32:24Speaker 5: And like so if you're the Patriots, if you want
- 32:26Speaker 5: aj Brown, they don't need to Pauls, they don't need
- 32:28Speaker 5: to trade.
- 32:29Speaker 4: He's on the contrast, Sometimes it can be good for
- 32:31Speaker 4: both sides of trade. You don't have to lose.
- 32:34Speaker 5: If he gets something, it's good for both sides. If
- 32:36Speaker 5: he gives him away, it's not good for them.
- 32:38Speaker 4: I don't think anyone's telling him or thinking he's.
- 32:41Speaker 5: I think people think that he's asking for too much.
- 32:44Speaker 5: I don't. I think he's a good player, not.
- 32:46Speaker 6: After some of the other trades that have had the
- 32:49Speaker 6: first round picks.
- 32:50Speaker 5: No, I don't.
- 32:50Speaker 4: Well, that's what he was asking. I heard he turned.
- 32:52Speaker 5: I heard that no one wants to give him a
- 32:55Speaker 5: first and a third. That's the Jayalen Waddle thing. So
- 32:58Speaker 5: if you heard that, I heard this, I don't know
- 33:00Speaker 5: what's true. Just going off of Twitter. I don't know
- 33:02Speaker 5: what they're you know, to your point, maybe you're right,
- 33:04Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 33:05Speaker 2: According to Jordan Shultz, the Eagles just signed Hollywood Brown
- 33:08Speaker 2: to one year deal.
- 33:09Speaker 6: What does it mean?
- 33:10Speaker 7: What does it mean?
- 33:11Speaker 5: But this is what I'm talking like, it's what do
- 33:13Speaker 5: it mean?
- 33:14Speaker 6: It's just caught like that. You know, you hear about
- 33:16Speaker 6: it a lot in the NBA, like Sam Presty with
- 33:19Speaker 6: the thunder. Like if Sam Presty calls you about a player,
- 33:21Speaker 6: like hang up the phone because he's about to just
- 33:23Speaker 6: like you're going to close your eyes and all of
- 33:25Speaker 6: a sudden, shake yildess Alexander is going to be gone
- 33:27Speaker 6: and winning MVPs in Oklahoma City. Like it's the same
- 33:30Speaker 6: thing with Howie Riseman, Like he's just he's he's a
- 33:34Speaker 6: fairly good at his job.
- 33:35Speaker 5: If you're right, and there they were asking for two
- 33:37Speaker 5: first I wouldn't give two first for him, but i'd
- 33:39Speaker 5: give one and I and I know there's not a
- 33:42Speaker 5: lot of teams that want to give up a first
- 33:43Speaker 5: round pick for him. And if that's the case, if
- 33:45Speaker 5: I were Howie Roseman, I'd keep them.
- 33:47Speaker 4: Yeah. I think each team is different, their situation is different.
- 33:49Speaker 4: I think for the Patriots situation where your first round
- 33:52Speaker 4: picks with thirty one and you clearly don't have that guy,
- 33:58Speaker 4: I think for us it makes sense.
- 34:00Speaker 5: They want to give it a twenty seven first round pick.
- 34:02Speaker 4: That's fine. I mean, you mean if we had the
- 34:04Speaker 4: twenty seventh.
- 34:05Speaker 5: No, if a twenty twenty seven first, oh oh nope,
- 34:10Speaker 5: that made me lest we wanted to do it. No,
- 34:12Speaker 5: if the Eagles want don't want the thirty first pick,
- 34:15Speaker 5: they want the twenty twenty seven, Nope, no, hard This
- 34:19Speaker 5: is what I'm saying. If I'm how and I don't
- 34:21Speaker 5: think you're wrong. Everybody, everybody is in agreement that next
- 34:24Speaker 5: year's draft.
- 34:25Speaker 4: But I don't think that's unreasonable.
- 34:27Speaker 6: I'm not giving up any the twenty twenty seven first
- 34:29Speaker 6: round pick.
- 34:30Speaker 2: No, there's a good chance it's a better pick than
- 34:32Speaker 2: thirty first.
- 34:32Speaker 4: I mean, but you know what, happefully not too much.
- 34:35Speaker 7: But like.
- 34:37Speaker 6: Even if it isn't like we're talking, there's going to
- 34:39Speaker 6: probably be i'd say comfortably at least six, if not seven,
- 34:44Speaker 6: wide receivers that are going to be worthy first round
- 34:46Speaker 6: picks in twenty twenty seven.
- 34:47Speaker 4: Okay, now you don't need one because you got one.
- 34:49Speaker 6: Well, but like it would be well draft, get at
- 34:54Speaker 6: rookie ones. I ain't giving up anything in the twenty
- 34:56Speaker 6: twenty seven draft yet, not until we get into this
- 35:00Speaker 6: season and we see grass Is Oways greener, what the
- 35:02Speaker 6: twenty twenty seven draft, what their fall season looks like,
- 35:06Speaker 6: if we get to the trade deadline, and maybe some
- 35:08Speaker 6: of the hype, but the twenty seven draft was a
- 35:10Speaker 6: little bit overblown, then maybe you would just then. But
- 35:13Speaker 6: I'm not touching twenty twenty seven, and I think we're
- 35:16Speaker 6: seeing it across the league that teams are are hoarding
- 35:19Speaker 6: twenty twenty seven draft picks and trying to even get
- 35:22Speaker 6: more picks into twenty twenty seven than they possibly can.
- 35:25Speaker 4: Chris in New Hampshire says his title is pathetic simps
- 35:31Speaker 4: oh geez AJ Brown AJ Brown, AJ Brown. The pitiful
- 35:35Speaker 4: simping of fans and media vermin is gross, shameful and weird.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Sounds like a shot gpt here that bro is not
- 35:43Speaker 4: coming here mark this email. I am correct. The thirsty
- 35:47Speaker 4: nature of these weaklings has become intolerable. Let it go
- 35:50Speaker 4: and let him go. The AJ Brown obsession is unhealthy.
- 35:54Speaker 4: This email is a guarantee he won't be a Patriot
- 35:56Speaker 4: and everyone will be Okay. If somehow I'm wrong, I'll
- 35:59Speaker 4: write into acknowledging my mistake. Please Fred, hang up on
- 36:03Speaker 4: callers and don't read the emails. Treat this Philadelphia Wide
- 36:06Speaker 4: receiver as he who shall not be named.
- 36:09Speaker 5: Wow, I understand, maybe not as strongly as the one
- 36:14Speaker 5: in the I don't want AJ Brown category.
- 36:17Speaker 6: It has gotten to the point of annoyance.
- 36:20Speaker 5: Mike's point I heard with the AJ Brown crap was
- 36:23Speaker 5: just dumping on me on THEOC every day, like you
- 36:26Speaker 5: have to have one of the insiders have another hit
- 36:29Speaker 5: on NFL Network with Ian Rapaport saying the same thing
- 36:32Speaker 5: about AJ Brown that he said two days ago, but
- 36:35Speaker 5: still trying to drum up the excitement or drum up
- 36:38Speaker 5: the hype of a potential trade.
- 36:39Speaker 6: And it could be imminent. It might not be imminent.
- 36:42Speaker 6: It actually isn't happening. Oh it could happen, like we're
- 36:44Speaker 6: just I'm done with it too.
- 36:46Speaker 2: I mean, it goes back to his draft when he
- 36:47Speaker 2: was like excited to be here and then you know
- 36:49Speaker 2: the Nikhil Harriet it all and so like the connections
- 36:51Speaker 2: go back. But I just it seems unique to me.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I don't know if other teams are out there being like, God,
- 36:55Speaker 2: we'd love to get a J.
- 36:56Speaker 4: Brown.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I'm sure you know teams are generally, but our fans
- 36:59Speaker 2: covering a single player as much as Patriot fans have
- 37:02Speaker 2: coveted AJ Brown.
- 37:03Speaker 4: I don't know. Yeah, Cynthia right, No one can ever
- 37:08Speaker 4: accuse Paula being overly positive.
- 37:10Speaker 2: The crew clearly.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Outline areas for improvement, even on the wins. Maybe Simon
- 37:15Speaker 4: only heard the positive because proportionally there were more of it.
- 37:18Speaker 4: The season was exponentially better than anticipated, even with the
- 37:21Speaker 4: devastating Super Bowl loss. We're on a twenty twenty six.
- 37:24Speaker 4: One thing we can be sure of is there will
- 37:26Speaker 4: be good, bad and ugly and it will be amazing
- 37:28Speaker 4: to watch.
- 37:30Speaker 2: So there you go and injured unfortunately.
- 37:34Speaker 5: Yeah, And I would just say that I try to
- 37:38Speaker 5: take each game individually and not be clouded by the
- 37:41Speaker 5: record or the past or the future whatever, and what
- 37:45Speaker 5: we see each week. And Mike and I talk a
- 37:49Speaker 5: lot as we're walking down from the press box on
- 37:52Speaker 5: home games, and certainly we talked the whole game. On
- 37:55Speaker 5: the road games, we adjust based off what we see.
- 37:58Speaker 5: It's not like, you know what, we've been a little
- 38:01Speaker 5: bit too positive lately. Let's let's take the other side,
- 38:04Speaker 5: or you know what, we've been beating the crap out
- 38:06Speaker 5: of him lately. You know, let's, you know, if they
- 38:09Speaker 5: if we feel like things are pretty good. And I
- 38:11Speaker 5: think Mike's point about Drake May, I think is really accurate.
- 38:14Speaker 5: There are times where we sort of have him in
- 38:18Speaker 5: no man's lands. Well, he made a great throat to
- 38:20Speaker 5: Hunter Henry, you know, against the Chargers for a touchdown.
- 38:23Speaker 5: But you know, aside from what he did with his legs,
- 38:27Speaker 5: he wasn't overly. So it's like he's not on the
- 38:29Speaker 5: good list, he's not on the bad list. He's just
- 38:31Speaker 5: sort of rides in between. And I think there were
- 38:33Speaker 5: a handful of games like that down the stretch. Anyway.
- 38:36Speaker 4: Yeah, Jeff in Canada wants to know if the Patriots
- 38:40Speaker 4: were in on Waddle, Miami probably wouldn't have traded it
- 38:42Speaker 4: to us anyway.
- 38:44Speaker 5: I would agree with that. Yeah, I would find it
- 38:46Speaker 5: hard to believe that Miami would have wanted to help
- 38:48Speaker 5: out a division team unless we just blew him away
- 38:52Speaker 5: with the by far the best offer.
- 38:54Speaker 2: I mean, how how would you see him fitting in
- 38:55Speaker 2: with Dobbs too, just to play the play the game
- 38:57Speaker 2: of you know?
- 38:59Speaker 6: Is that pretty well?
- 39:00Speaker 1: That fits well.
- 39:02Speaker 6: Stretcher like you like Wattle. Wattle's got great speed like
- 39:07Speaker 6: you know, and I think that Dobbs is more of
- 39:09Speaker 6: like a possession, chain moving type of receiver. You probably
- 39:12Speaker 6: wouldn't like have like I guess, unless you consider Matt Collins,
- 39:16Speaker 6: and you wouldn't have like the center on your basketball team,
- 39:19Speaker 6: like you wouldn't have the guy that's gonna win the
- 39:21Speaker 6: ball down the field and do that sort of thing.
- 39:23Speaker 6: But those would have been two fun guys to have together.
- 39:26Speaker 2: What do you do you guys think, if if this
- 39:28Speaker 2: Aj Brown thing or any trade really has to happen
- 39:31Speaker 2: at June first, how does that affect your draft plans?
- 39:33Speaker 2: Because you won for one, Dobbs for Digs, so you
- 39:36Speaker 2: basically have your whole receiving core coming back at least
- 39:39Speaker 2: under contract. You know, do you draft the guy and
- 39:42Speaker 2: try to get him to push somebody off the roster
- 39:45Speaker 2: or do you not draft a guy? Because if you
- 39:47Speaker 2: draft a guy and then you get Aj Brown, you know,
- 39:50Speaker 2: and that might be fine. You might want to push
- 39:51Speaker 2: two guys off. That's fine, but it's just a numbers
- 39:54Speaker 2: issue right now. Where your room is what it was
- 39:56Speaker 2: last year. So any addition you make aj Brown rookie whatever,
- 40:00Speaker 2: or he's going to start to get into the territory
- 40:02Speaker 2: of pushing guys like Pop Douglas and Kyle Williams and
- 40:05Speaker 2: you know, Matt Collins down down the duth chart. I
- 40:08Speaker 2: wonder how you approach that.
- 40:09Speaker 4: It's but I think you're in a position where if
- 40:14Speaker 4: you can make any unit better, you got to do it. Yeah,
- 40:17Speaker 4: you know, and if that pushes somebody off the roster,
- 40:20Speaker 4: so be it. You know, like you're always looking to upgrade.
- 40:24Speaker 6: It's a tough spot to be in with it, though,
- 40:26Speaker 6: because it's going to happen after the draft, right and
- 40:28Speaker 6: so if they do revisit it after the draft and
- 40:32Speaker 6: Eagles put you know, the beacon out there that he's.
- 40:35Speaker 4: Available, do you know what pushes two people?
- 40:38Speaker 6: Do New teams start coming back in that maybe didn't
- 40:41Speaker 6: get their receiver in the draft, and now all of
- 40:43Speaker 6: a sudden there's four teams that are interested.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Again, and it two first rights.
- 40:48Speaker 6: We're going right back down the rabbit hole again. Uh,
- 40:52Speaker 6: you know it's it's a risk. It's a risk to
- 40:54Speaker 6: wait until after the draft without any real way to pivot.
- 40:58Speaker 6: If he doesn't they don't land him, then you kind
- 41:01Speaker 6: of put yourself in a position where like you have
- 41:03Speaker 6: to just be the best offer.
- 41:05Speaker 5: I'll take the boring way out and just say either way,
- 41:08Speaker 5: you got to sort of stick to your board. You know,
- 41:11Speaker 5: you if the receiver you know, and I'm just talking
- 41:15Speaker 5: about a thirty one, if the receiver is your best player,
- 41:19Speaker 5: then I think you have to take it, even if
- 41:21Speaker 5: you think you might you may be getting a J.
- 41:23Speaker 5: Brown because you guys are right. I mean, they're going
- 41:25Speaker 5: to have an idea of right now, we kind of
- 41:28Speaker 5: think a J. Brown's on the backburn until June first. Well,
- 41:30Speaker 5: they might say they might know right now that there's
- 41:33Speaker 5: no way, there's no scenario that we're getting a J. Brown.
- 41:36Speaker 5: That might be out they'd know that. But either way,
- 41:40Speaker 5: to me, I think you have to stick to your board.
- 41:41Speaker 5: You don't want to reach, and I wouldn't ignore or receive.
- 41:45Speaker 5: I wouldn't say, well, I'm going to go to the
- 41:47Speaker 5: next thing on the board because we don't need a receiver.
- 41:49Speaker 5: We're getting a J Brown unless it's like a huge
- 41:52Speaker 5: gap between players, Like I think you just stick.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Especially when there's so many that are you know, throwing
- 42:00Speaker 2: weaknesses or things that don't But there's so many exciting options,
- 42:03Speaker 2: like whether you're a fan of a big guy who
- 42:06Speaker 2: doesn't run that great or a little guy who runs great,
- 42:08Speaker 2: Like at that rookie contract price, at that place where
- 42:12Speaker 2: you're like, boom, this guy is locked in. We might
- 42:14Speaker 2: even have a fifth year option on him. There's just
- 42:17Speaker 2: so much appeal to me in that that it's hard
- 42:19Speaker 2: to like put that off if you really believe in
- 42:22Speaker 2: the guy, I guess to your point, if you love him,
- 42:23Speaker 2: take them.
- 42:24Speaker 6: Yeah, there's a lot of you know, conversations this time
- 42:26Speaker 6: of year about like surplus value and like the quarterback
- 42:29Speaker 6: rookie contracts obviously number one, but you can make a
- 42:32Speaker 6: really good case that receiver, you know, really good receivers
- 42:35Speaker 6: on rookie contracts is like the number two most valuable
- 42:38Speaker 6: thing to have because those guys are making thirty plus
- 42:41Speaker 6: million dollars a year and we just saw alp Pierce,
- 42:43Speaker 6: you know, signed for twenty nine million dollars a year
- 42:46Speaker 6: like that. That's a big contract and so if you
- 42:48Speaker 6: have that player for four years, maybe even five with
- 42:51Speaker 6: the fifth year option under team control, Now you need
- 42:54Speaker 6: to hit like it needs to be a good player.
- 42:56Speaker 6: But if you can do that, that's sort of the
- 42:58Speaker 6: perfect storm of Now you have quarterback on a rookie
- 43:01Speaker 6: contract for another couple of years and a number one
- 43:03Speaker 6: receiver on a rookie contract. Like, if that opportunity is there,
- 43:06Speaker 6: then I think you got to take it.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Derek and Auburn writes in he says the open reminded
- 43:12Speaker 4: me of another team living rent free in Mike's head,
- 43:14Speaker 4: the Giants. I personally feel nothing negative for the Giants.
- 43:18Speaker 4: We had so many preseason games with them. It's where
- 43:20Speaker 4: Bill came from, et cetera. But losing to the Ravens
- 43:23Speaker 4: in the playoffs or losing the foot game to the
- 43:25Speaker 4: Jets affected me way more than that second Giant Super
- 43:29Speaker 4: Bowl loss. We were frauds that year, wondering what teams
- 43:32Speaker 4: are living rent free? For the crew who lives rent
- 43:36Speaker 4: free in your head?
- 43:37Speaker 5: A Patriots nobody. I spend way too much time thinking
- 43:43Speaker 5: about the Patriots.
- 43:44Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I mean that's different though, not to think
- 43:47Speaker 6: about the Patriots.
- 43:47Speaker 2: I think it's a little of the Bills.
- 43:48Speaker 4: Sure.
- 43:49Speaker 2: I mean that's you know, your biggest rival, that's you know,
- 43:52Speaker 2: if you had to pick one team you want to
- 43:53Speaker 2: beat every year. They're the best other team in the division.
- 43:57Speaker 2: So I don't know if they live rent free in
- 43:58Speaker 2: my head, but I'm very curious how they manage Josh Allen.
- 44:01Speaker 2: I think Josh Allen is a great player, and I
- 44:04Speaker 2: just think his journey as a quarterback is fascinating, especially
- 44:07Speaker 2: when we get to this point where you know he's
- 44:09Speaker 2: doing everything he possibly can, including turning the ball over,
- 44:13Speaker 2: you know, And I mean he just completed the game?
- 44:15Speaker 2: Is him now? And so it's just and I also
- 44:17Speaker 2: just wonder. I know, Buffalo hasn't been to a super
- 44:19Speaker 2: Bowl since the nineteen hundred, so you know that fans are.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Like, we got a guy like you got to cash in.
- 44:25Speaker 4: I know what the pressure.
- 44:27Speaker 5: I mean, that's the very definition, that's the very definition
- 44:31Speaker 5: of a team lives in.
- 44:32Speaker 2: I just start charging him rent. I could use that money.
- 44:35Speaker 2: But but look, I mean I got super obsessed with
- 44:38Speaker 2: the Patriots when they lost in the playoffs and five
- 44:40Speaker 2: that first Brady lost because time's a ticking and you
- 44:44Speaker 2: only have so many bites at.
- 44:45Speaker 4: The Apple, Well, at that point you didn't realize it.
- 44:49Speaker 2: But you know you thought maybe you had five or six.
- 44:52Speaker 2: But like at that point, you're saying, we have the
- 44:54Speaker 2: best board young quarterback in the game, we have the
- 44:56Speaker 2: best coach in the game. What are the challenges going
- 44:59Speaker 2: to be to keep this? Look at this defense, it's
- 45:01Speaker 2: all you know. So I just know as a fan
- 45:04Speaker 2: when I looked at we've got, it's all clicking for
- 45:06Speaker 2: us right now.
- 45:07Speaker 4: But we all know it's a couple.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Of plays here and there and you're losing an AFT
- 45:11Speaker 2: championship game, or you know, you one year your defense
- 45:14Speaker 2: is little down, and you know it's just it's so
- 45:17Speaker 2: fickle and you want to maximize having this player when
- 45:20Speaker 2: you do well.
- 45:21Speaker 4: I would think the closest team right now, I would
- 45:23Speaker 4: have to say is the Bills, because they're our biggest
- 45:25Speaker 4: rival right now, and their fans are so obnoxious that
- 45:28Speaker 4: you know, like I can't stomach them winning a Super Bowl.
- 45:31Speaker 6: You know, don't have to worry about that.
- 45:33Speaker 5: I don't think I have one.
- 45:34Speaker 6: I don't have one either. I think maybe they have
- 45:37Speaker 6: to care.
- 45:37Speaker 4: I think that no about the other teams about anything.
- 45:41Speaker 5: Oh, I like the NFL. That's that's that's ridiculous, that's untooled.
- 45:45Speaker 6: I feel like it's, uh, my life has only been winning,
- 45:49Speaker 6: so like why would it like there's nobody to hate.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Like when I think of Evan Lazar, I think of winning.
- 45:55Speaker 6: I mean like I was born in ninety two and
- 45:57Speaker 6: the Patriots have been to ten Super Bowls.
- 45:59Speaker 5: So I guess that's the kind of the way I
- 46:01Speaker 5: look at it. Like when I was when I was
- 46:03Speaker 5: a kid, when I was like fifteen, it would have
- 46:05Speaker 5: been Miami. Actually, Miami was the team that lived in
- 46:08Speaker 5: my head because they always won the division. They were
- 46:11Speaker 5: always the team. I don't really feel like I have
- 46:13Speaker 5: one of those teams.
- 46:14Speaker 2: I think I think Kansas City got a little out
- 46:16Speaker 2: of my head this year. It's just not making the playoffs.
- 46:18Speaker 2: I still I didn't fully except they could be back,
- 46:20Speaker 2: but like you know, they're just they were the best
- 46:22Speaker 2: team and I was sick of them.
- 46:24Speaker 4: Other than the Bills, you know, during the Rex Ryan years,
- 46:27Speaker 4: certainly the Jets, I was great.
- 46:29Speaker 6: Yeah, we went a whole five years without going to
- 46:31Speaker 6: you know, the play Oh my god. It was like
- 46:34Speaker 6: like I don't know, like it just I've never I
- 46:36Speaker 6: haven't known enough, like like the Giants like obviously irk
- 46:39Speaker 6: me just because like really because of a way like
- 46:42Speaker 6: you know, we should have had you know, we should
- 46:45Speaker 6: have had the perfect season, but I did too much success.
- 46:48Speaker 4: I mean yeah, but like they they're not an obnoxious
- 46:51Speaker 4: franchise or their fan base. I don't think is obnoxious
- 46:55Speaker 4: the Giants. But yeah, I know, but he's he's a
- 47:00Speaker 4: good guy, like you know, you know, just to not
- 47:02Speaker 4: like Eli, you know all them, I make it pretty
- 47:06Speaker 4: other than he'd beat you twice, right, Yeah, I don't know.
- 47:09Speaker 4: I to have like a visceral you know, bad feeling
- 47:13Speaker 4: about a team for them to be in my head
- 47:15Speaker 4: like I did about Rex. Ryan had a little.
- 47:17Speaker 5: I had a little for Denver too in the in
- 47:19Speaker 5: the in the early nineties when they couldn't beat Away. Yeah,
- 47:24Speaker 5: I feel like that that we are the one to
- 47:26Speaker 5: better live renfree and and other like where that's us
- 47:30Speaker 5: Like where the Red three team.
- 47:33Speaker 6: When I was young, you.
- 47:34Speaker 4: Know, the Pistons, you know, couldn't stand the Pistons, like
- 47:39Speaker 4: losing to the dirty rotten Pistons.
- 47:42Speaker 2: I want to feel this way though, like I enjoyed
- 47:44Speaker 2: when Ryan was in my head and I would they
- 47:47Speaker 2: be like here will Rex Ryan. He called it the
- 47:49Speaker 2: season take a hold of what you know, like like
- 47:51Speaker 2: I don't know, I just it might be more invested
- 47:53Speaker 2: than I'm just like it was great for the rivalry. Yeah,
- 47:57Speaker 2: I love feeling something about a team like I feel
- 48:00Speaker 2: like right now with this move of the bottle, like
- 48:03Speaker 2: based on what the Broncos were saying after the AFC Championship,
- 48:06Speaker 2: like I'm a little annoyed with them right now, Like
- 48:07Speaker 2: they were a little in my head, Brent Free, I'm like,
- 48:09Speaker 2: you know, BONNICKX, let's come to Gillette next Stadium.
- 48:11Speaker 6: You're not in my head, but you got something. And
- 48:13Speaker 6: I saw Sean Payne walking around the combine, I was like,
- 48:15Speaker 6: you asked, whoa, whoa. I don't care for the I
- 48:22Speaker 6: just don't care for the things.
- 48:24Speaker 9: That he said, you know, not even just a walked
- 48:26Speaker 9: up to him and thanked him, not even just handing
- 48:28Speaker 9: you a trip to the super not even just about
- 48:30Speaker 9: the Patriots, Like he just took like shots at every
- 48:34Speaker 9: team they played all year, like the Jaguars, Like, oh
- 48:37Speaker 9: a small market team, Like.
- 48:39Speaker 6: What was like, you're you play in Denver, dude, Like
- 48:41Speaker 6: it's not like you play in in like New York
- 48:43Speaker 6: or something. The or Boston or La like. It's not
- 48:45Speaker 6: that your market's gigantic. There's a lot of cockiness with sempagne.

- 50:55Speaker 8: Your thoughts, I mean, I understand it to be big,
- 51:03Speaker 8: but just to I wouldn't really emphasize just.
- 51:09Speaker 7: Clearly the role that I I would assume.
- 51:18Speaker 8: It's just being the best player that I can be,
- 51:20Speaker 8: being the best teammate that I can be, which I
- 51:22Speaker 8: know I'm Garret k the butther doing andres obviously building
- 51:27Speaker 8: the trust in their keeam camaraderie, Ron being old nurse
- 51:32Speaker 8: forward yourself, how.
- 51:33Speaker 13: Much do you know about the other receivers when you're
- 51:36Speaker 13: joining and in fact, if you had a chance to
- 51:37Speaker 13: talk to any.
- 51:38Speaker 8: Of them since Simon, I have not had the opportunity
- 51:42Speaker 8: to speak with any of them, and I'm looking forward
- 51:43Speaker 8: to meeting a little soon. Uh. They've Josh said, spoken
- 51:50Speaker 8: the roof through about about them and what they do.
- 51:53Speaker 7: And you know, I know I know a little bit of.
- 51:55Speaker 8: Kyle because he's from Los Angeles where I was born
- 52:00Speaker 8: and raised.
- 52:00Speaker 7: And I know there's many more in that room that
- 52:03Speaker 7: I look for. The beating. I know Mac is one
- 52:06Speaker 7: of a kind. I saw it all across the world.
- 52:09Speaker 7: What is it?
- 52:10Speaker 2: What is it about working with Josh McDaniels and being
- 52:12Speaker 2: in this offense and excites you, especially after being in
- 52:14Speaker 2: the same kind of bless cost system here.
- 52:20Speaker 7: That's that's a great question. It's just I'm just grateful, Brough,
- 52:29Speaker 7: just grateful you have the chances to let the Drake Cadelo. Yes,
- 52:33Speaker 7: I have.
- 52:34Speaker 8: I spoke with Drake. He is an amazing person to
- 52:37Speaker 8: be around. I love his personality and I just love
- 52:42Speaker 8: who he was as a.
- 52:43Speaker 5: Personal You guys have a chance to talk about maybe
- 52:45Speaker 5: getting you know, a lot of wide receivers and quarter
- 52:47Speaker 5: backs have been and it's early been the off season
- 52:49Speaker 5: get together and just some throwing.
- 52:51Speaker 7: Uh yeah, yeah, we have and you know, I look
- 52:54Speaker 7: forward to that real soul.
- 52:57Speaker 8: But again, then Drake's a great guy, lazing quarterback and
- 53:00Speaker 8: as in person, and I'm glad I get the deal.
- 53:03Speaker 4: I'm talking been fable, Josh, Drake seemed like this was
- 53:08Speaker 4: a perfect fit for you. They smiling about it and
- 53:10Speaker 4: everything else had him a profeteria to work him about.
- 53:13Speaker 7: Unless do you think this is the perfect fit for
- 53:15Speaker 7: your in your carey.
- 53:17Speaker 8: I think it's really good for my career, you know,
- 53:21Speaker 8: just from the sequence of events that has went on
- 53:25Speaker 8: within the last who knows what it can be weak
- 53:29Speaker 8: months X amount of years and super blessed. I'm very grateful.
- 53:37Speaker 8: I'm very painful to be exactly where do you smile
- 53:40Speaker 8: once you're quiet? You seem like you're quiet. Yes, yes,
- 53:43Speaker 8: yes I do, I do, because I know that's been aished,
- 53:46Speaker 8: that's been a question for a long time on my air.
- 53:50Speaker 7: I am, I do smile, I am doing me. I
- 53:52Speaker 7: do have emotions. But getting injury baud right, would you
- 53:56Speaker 7: look like you enjoyed the case?
- 53:57Speaker 4: Sorry I loved a guest. Yes, why.
- 54:02Speaker 7: Just that's where I come from. I grew up in
- 54:05Speaker 7: a harsh area of South LA and.
- 54:10Speaker 8: God that his biggest part injuries about in me and
- 54:14Speaker 8: every step that he can possibly make for me and
- 54:18Speaker 8: obviously just allow me to understand some things or walk
- 54:23Speaker 8: into some things that I didn't really know what I
- 54:25Speaker 8: was getting myself into, allowing me the band real experience for.
- 54:28Speaker 5: That for me, Like you've improved and added to your
- 54:31Speaker 5: bag every year of your career, is there a certain
- 54:33Speaker 5: area of growth in your particular A.
- 54:34Speaker 7: Crowd of.
- 54:36Speaker 8: Just yeah, I mean just the reflection of being a
- 54:42Speaker 8: ball player and obviously aligning with that off the field.
- 54:45Speaker 7: As well, and just just understanding that.
- 54:51Speaker 8: As much as being the best player that I can
- 54:54Speaker 8: be for this team is important, that being the best person.
- 54:58Speaker 7: That I can be off the field just as important.
- 55:02Speaker 8: I'm sorry if this didn't ask before, but how is
- 55:04Speaker 8: it to come into a team with the expectations that
- 55:06Speaker 8: they just made a super Bowl?
- 55:08Speaker 4: Like you're coming in with winning expectations right away?
- 55:10Speaker 7: Does that excite you at all? Yes? Yes, I.
- 55:15Speaker 8: Understand what winning, what winning is, I know what it
- 55:18Speaker 8: looks like, and yeah, I just feel that just based
- 55:24Speaker 8: on what I have done thus far, there's a lot
- 55:32Speaker 8: more for improvement for me to just grow and keep
- 55:35Speaker 8: understanding what that it's like.
- 55:36Speaker 7: So appreciate it.
- 55:37Speaker 6: Thank you, Reuby. What do you think you've grown the
- 55:39Speaker 6: mouse since you entered the unevolvement.
- 55:43Speaker 8: I've just been a ball player, obviously understanding the position
- 55:50Speaker 8: very well and continuously just finding a way to keep
- 55:54Speaker 8: understanding it.
- 55:56Speaker 7: And yeah, just.
- 56:00Speaker 8: Understanding what teams mean we're playing special teams means just
- 56:06Speaker 8: speeding up the process of being a.
- 56:09Speaker 7: Veteran to some degree.
- 56:10Speaker 8: It was just a lot that has went on, and
- 56:12Speaker 8: I just understand that moving forward, with these years to come, that.
- 56:18Speaker 7: I will grow in all areas from football to life.
- 56:22Speaker 7: Holler round, maybe.
- 56:25Speaker 5: What'd say to you?
- 56:26Speaker 12: You know most about this opportunity who started to develop
- 56:29Speaker 12: and started over on the Patriots is a place where
- 56:31Speaker 12: you could end up.
- 56:32Speaker 5: What was the most exciting part about the honest play?
- 56:36Speaker 7: Uh, the most exciting part was the history that this.
- 56:44Speaker 8: Organization has and it's a lot of winning football and
- 56:49Speaker 8: playing in this league. The statistical factors is one thing.
- 56:53Speaker 8: Maybe someone is getting some individual accoladus another, but it
- 56:59Speaker 8: ultimately comes out the weather and I think that's purple.
- 57:02Speaker 12: What ex such about the wide receiver as well, where
- 57:05Speaker 12: stuff like last year even you're gigs here was more
- 57:08Speaker 12: than was any individuals.
- 57:10Speaker 4: What do you see from that group and is that
- 57:11Speaker 4: a factor as well in any work with them?
- 57:14Speaker 12: And Drake say that over the time Drake as well,
- 57:18Speaker 12: in addition to the wire or what stands out to
- 57:20Speaker 12: you you.
- 57:22Speaker 8: Uh, just being able to continue to continue to grow
- 57:25Speaker 8: together as a unit. And I emphasize, you know, just
- 57:30Speaker 8: my time at Green Bay where you know, all of
- 57:33Speaker 8: us as receivers from myself to Jayden to Christian or
- 57:38Speaker 8: Dn Tavian, which we all came in as a unit.
- 57:40Speaker 8: And I feel that with myself being here, I can
- 57:45Speaker 8: be able to continue that because I think I've manye.
- 57:47Speaker 13: There for the mind, how about how close this team
- 57:50Speaker 13: was Twinny Championship last year, Andrews, I feel like to
- 57:54Speaker 13: you this group coming in, you guys are all ready
- 57:57Speaker 13: to take that next staff and finish.
- 57:59Speaker 7: The the Yes, indeed, yes, indeed, I don't know.
- 58:04Speaker 1: Yeah this why so?
- 58:08Speaker 7: Yeah, man?
- 58:08Speaker 8: Because it's it's experienced all around the room, from from
- 58:14Speaker 8: the from it can be from from the oldest guy
- 58:17Speaker 8: in the room going down. It's just experience all around.
- 58:21Speaker 8: And again it'll it'll only get better room for it. Uh,
- 58:28Speaker 8: I'm excited man, and cateat.
- 58:30Speaker 4: And this lasting what what do you want Patriots fans?
- 58:32Speaker 4: No that like, who are you as a flair and
- 58:35Speaker 4: an individual?
- 58:36Speaker 5: And what do you vote to port on tape here.
- 58:41Speaker 7: New England.
- 58:44Speaker 8: Uh, we'll get to know someone who is very grounded,
- 58:47Speaker 8: who was very humble and most importantly to to themselves,
- 58:52Speaker 8: which comes in some form of self self respect, authenticity,
- 58:56Speaker 8: right sir, and.
- 58:58Speaker 7: Just knowing that I'm here to work and I'm going
- 59:00Speaker 7: to be here for anything other good lady.
- 59:07Speaker 4: Thanks.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Yeah, And now great moments in.
- 59:19Speaker 4: History, you know in the media area down by the
- 59:22Speaker 4: rope there and all of a sudden this you know, Paul,
- 59:25Speaker 4: guys like that's Jason Tatum. I have to admit I
- 59:28Speaker 4: was a little bit starstruck.
- 59:30Speaker 7: You know.
- 59:31Speaker 6: You know he's tall, and you you let me finish
- 59:37Speaker 6: my sentence.
- 59:40Speaker 14: Then you see Tatum standing next to an offensive lineman
- 59:44Speaker 14: or like a massive behemoth of it of a d tackle,
- 59:48Speaker 14: and you're like, Tatum's really effing tall.
- 59:52Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 59:52Speaker 5: Like this new surgery, I know it's going to have
- 59:55Speaker 5: him back before this starts.
- 59:57Speaker 6: Can you let me have some hope, Paul for some seconds.
- 1:00:00Speaker 6: But so he had the surgery immediately, like within twenty
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: four hours, and then he had this new I thing.
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: It's called the speed bridge. It's like this new procedure
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: of how they sniff. You guys know me well enough
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: to know that I am now an expert on Achilles Revere.
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: Let's be honest.
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: He had the speedbridge procedure with the best doctor in
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: the world, who performs his surgery in New York City.
- 1:00:28Speaker 6: Say we're playing in New York when it happened.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: So that's why she only had the surgery that night.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Can you can you let me that's a fact. That's
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: another great moment.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: From all right back here on Patriots Unfiltered. A five

- 1:01:22Speaker 4: So while we're talking about retailed retail, I'm looking for
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: a pillow, you know, want to sleep on. I have
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: I have a well, you know they have throw pillows
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: and all all kinds of stuff, But I have like
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: a temper pedic pillow which is nice, but it's too thin.
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: I need something with a little bit more heft that
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: will get you know, fill that space between the shoulder
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: and the neck, you know, beside sleeper. So if anyone
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: has any, you know, I want the best pillow. Money
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: is no object. I think memory memory foam. I I
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: lean toward that.
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: That's what I figured.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Yeah, but does that like fill the though, like if
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: you got it kind of bunched up between his ear.
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: WHOA, I was gonna I was gonna say something, but
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: you just read the bobs read. So maybe I'll tell
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: you about this afterwards, because it's.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: So if anyone can anyone has discovered, much like I
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: discovered the best of other products, if you've discovered the
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: best pillow, please share.
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: Well.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: It's so hard to do because when you're shopping for
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: a pillow, you can't really test it out, and then
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: all pillows get broken in, so you know, when you start,
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: the starting point when it's in the store is completely
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: different than when you actually like get the pillow in,
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: you know, broken into your head and sleeping soule.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: So it's really hard.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: I understand why you're asking for this bread.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I think a lot of people have this.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: You just kind of wing it. You're like, just try
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: this one.
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: It's a journey.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Then you get one of those ones it's like feathers
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: and it gets all like separated out and you've got
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: like thin parts and thick parts. I mean, you can't
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: do feathers anymore, right, But I don't know.
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: Can't you do feathers anymore? No, it's allergies maybe, Oh,
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: if you have allergies, you can't do it. You could
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: never do it.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: You get like the little the little parts poking in
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: the face from the feathers, you know when they.
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: Feel like those are like a big feather. Memory foam
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: or temper pedic or whatever.
- 1:03:08Speaker 7: You know.
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: What pillows do you guys do?
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: I don't even know.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: Actually was a present though, as I think it was
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: more because my wife saw my pillow without a pillowcase
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: and was like, that's gross you're getting because you know
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: what it looks like when you take the pillow case off.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: Yeah, i'd be drooling, you know, wedding.
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: Don't you have a pillow case for that?
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: We do, but you know underneath sometimes it gets through
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: and then you look, you're like this one, how much you're.
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: What do you use?
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: I don't really know.
- 1:03:33Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: I don't have anything.
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: Is it memory foam?
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: No?
- 1:03:38Speaker 10: No?
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: No, But Beth has a memory phone, but she has
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: definitely rotated a few different versions because she has a similar.
- 1:03:46Speaker 7: Issue that you do.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: Okay, Evan, you don't sleep, so it doesn't matter.
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: It's my sitting up watching my pillow was purchased a
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: competitor to the grade Bob's discount furniture. So I'm going
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: to keep it to myself, Okay, I don't want to
- 1:04:01Speaker 6: get us in.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: Trouble, all right, Kristen, all right after me? Eight five five,
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: pass five hundred. Let's go to the phones people have
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: been holding on. We'll go to Zach in New Hampshire.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: What's up Zach?
- 1:04:13Speaker 16: Hey, guys, thanks taking my call.
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:04:15Speaker 17: Oh, if both Cassius Howell and Zion Young are available
- 1:04:19Speaker 17: at thirty one, who would you, guys lean towards.
- 1:04:22Speaker 18: And you know, who's the better scheme fit, who has
- 1:04:25Speaker 18: the higher ceiling?
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Okay, I think that's a good question.
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: It's just for your mock draft or you're preparing your
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: mock that.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Yeah, well we talked to me and we talked a little. Yeah,
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: I mean Evan laid out.
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: You know.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: Maybe Zion Young not quite the measurables they might want.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: But Cashus Howel's got short arms, you know, and he
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: doesn't maybe have the exact dimensions. I think Cashus Howel
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: plays with his hair on fire and seems like that
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: kind of guy. But there's a certain appeal to me
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: of Zion Young's length, and you know, is necessarily what
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: they had last year? Is that the rule? Or is
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: that what they had? Would they mind having a bigger
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: guy that that you know, maybe can do a little
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: some things differently?
- 1:05:02Speaker 10: What was the guy?
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: Was reported Patriots were having a thirty visit with OT,
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: a safety handful of them. I thought it was an
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: OT that they well, they've had about five reported ones
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: at this point.
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: I was, I was intrigued by the same Emanuel McNeil Warren. Yeah,
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: he's he's a fun player. We can talk about him
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: in a second. To answer the callers question, my hesitation
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: was Zion Young is that he's two sixty five, two seventy,
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: and I think that he's probably naturally more of a
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: player that plays inside the tackles instead of outside the
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: tackles as like a stand up rusher, just the way
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: you know his big body, you know, big frame.
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: Long arms.
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: So I don't know if he's necessarily the type of
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: fit perfectly in their scheme right now where you know
- 1:05:47Speaker 6: it's cash is howled like the coms for cash as howl.
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: A lot of the times are Harold Landry, Like he's
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: a guy that's built with speed and with bend around
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: the edge and aggressiveness and just sort of a nose
- 1:05:58Speaker 6: for the football. So he seems to be more of
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: their natural fit. You know, du just mentioned the arm length,
- 1:06:03Speaker 6: but I think that's why he would be available at
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: thirty one. Like you're picking thirty one now, like you're
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: not picking fourth where you can just kind of have
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: the pick of the litter. So if he fallows to
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: thirty one because of his arm length, I feel pretty
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: comfortable taking my chances on a guy that I think
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: is a top twenty talent in this draft that might
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: not have the ideal measurables and that's why he's slid
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: a little bit. I like Zion Young in terms of
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: his play style. I just I don't know if it's
- 1:06:28Speaker 6: a fit. There was some offield stuff too that they
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: would have to get through as well, but I put TJ.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: Parker in that kind of group. Two from Clemson is
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: another like, yeah, edge, late, first edge that's available. That's
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: a common target in some of the mock drafts.
- 1:06:40Speaker 6: Yeah, power oriented, you know, like that's a he's a
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: speed to power bowl rusher, physical player, you know, pretty
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: good though. I like him, and you know, a key
- 1:06:49Speaker 6: Mesidor from Miami's sort of like the cluster, like I
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: think Arboys and Thomas has kind of dropped off maybe
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: a little bit into the Day two conversation early day two,
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: but already visits. You know, the ones that we know
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: of as of right now, there's about four or five
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: of them are Mason Thomas is one of them. And McNeil.
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: Warren was on Kay Adams' podcast yesterday and said that
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: he's been here and had a thirty visit with him
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: as well. So he's a safety, but you know, he
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: draws to me a lot of similarities to Nick amm
- 1:07:20Speaker 6: and Warry with Seattle, where he's like kind of like
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: a box nickel safety that can really play all over
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: the defense at all three levels and do a bunch
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: of different things. Physical, big dude like six three fifteen
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: to ten, really good play strength, really good open field tackler,
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: can take on blocks, can play a little bit in
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: the deep part of the field if you want him
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: to do that. He's he's a really impressive player.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: I wonder with him too, And like just to say
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: a lot of these like mock drafts, you look at
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: or do. It feels like safety and defensive tackle are
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: two positions that, at least in mock drafts for where
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: do they count seem to kind of fall a little bit.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: And there's you know, a bunch of really high rated
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: defensive tackles there, you know, v skuy. I wonder if
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: that could feed into the concerns with coverage on the linebackers,
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: and maybe we take go a little bit more three
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: safety and we use one of those kind of guys
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: to handle tight ends rather than putting it on Spoleene, Like,
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: you know, could you evolve the scheme a little bit
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: that way by drafting a third safety to play with
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: with buyer to that's been I thought.
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: They didn't play enough dime last year, and I just
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: really feel like that's the one thing that you see
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: a lot of these defenses like Seattle do that just
- 1:08:30Speaker 6: causes a lot of flexibility because you can you can
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: still maintain your structure of having those two safeties deep.
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: But then this third geit safety is kind of like
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: a free player, and you can kind of just play
- 1:08:41Speaker 6: games with him, whether he's blitzing, whether he's playing like
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: at the second level as a robber, whether he's manning
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: up tight ends, like he just sort of becomes like, hey,
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: you know, he can put out fires like wherever you
- 1:08:51Speaker 6: kind of see a game plan concern. That's exactly where
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: Seattle used him and worry and why he had such
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: a great rookie year was because he was just all
- 1:09:00Speaker 6: he's playing, you know, a role that was sort of
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: very game plan specific, and they used him in a
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: multitude of different ways, whereas like Bayern and Woodson are
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: more like, you know, typical safety type players.
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: If you can get a guy like Kyle Hamilton, then
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: you're all set.
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: Yeah, and and but like that's sort of like the
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: apex right and em and warriors like come pretty close
- 1:09:19Speaker 6: to it honestly as a rookie. But you know, that
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: type of player is what McNeil Warren is kind of
- 1:09:26Speaker 6: touted as, like that, that's the sort of dude. We're
- 1:09:29Speaker 6: talking about.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Herm's in DC. What's up? Herm? Herm? Herm is gone. Well,
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: he was on the phone for over an hour, so
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: I don't blame him about talking over each other. David
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: Maine says, the great podcaster Joe Rogan makes all his
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: guests wear headphones, and he says that when you're hearing
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: your own voice and headphones, you won't talk over each other.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: Maybe try that, Fred, I like I rather like not
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: having headphones. I like himphones. You like headphones.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: I why I can hear myself?
- 1:10:02Speaker 7: I can. I don't know.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: I can't hear yourself now, No, but I hear how.
- 1:10:06Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: There's a difference between actually hearing how you're speaking. I
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: think I enjoy it more.
- 1:10:11Speaker 7: I mean we do.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: We do it for the outside ones when we do
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: the trade.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: When you're outside, you got a lot of stuff going on.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: But I think it limits some of the talking over.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: It also limits my joke telling. When I do jokes
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: under my breath, not everyone can hear them all the time.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: So I think it limits my one of my biggest
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: The headphones make you because you guys can hear when
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: I do a little yeah that's not what he said.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: I do a little thing like that, and then you
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: don't hear it because so that you have the mic
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: in front of your mouth.
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: So it's the mic that's helping you, not the headphone.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: Well, it's helping you guys hear what I'm saying.
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: So I'll throw myself on the grenade, because let's face it,
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: this is everybody's this is directed at me. I'm the
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: one who argues, probably talks over people. So I will
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: no longer do that. I will do my best to
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: not you know, make the show entertaining me.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: You'll still yell at me once in every six years.
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: I have never once been offended by talking over me
- 1:11:01Speaker 6: or anybody else.
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: It's just hard to hear.
- 1:11:04Speaker 6: Oh God, and the commounts of complaints that that people
- 1:11:07Speaker 6: have for those types of things, Like it's like that
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: you really spend time work like complaining about yeah, every
- 1:11:13Speaker 6: now and then hell breaks going on. You know you
- 1:11:17Speaker 6: can't you're talking over people or you know this, this
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: person's doing that and that person's It was like, just
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: just listen to the show.
- 1:11:24Speaker 5: As a loser who listens to a lot of talk
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: radio and a lot of stuff like this, the ones
- 1:11:31Speaker 5: that I find entertaining and worth listening to are the
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: ones that I find the most authentic. And when you
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: get someone that's like really worked up about something, it's
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: hard to fake that. Now do people have faux outrage
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: all the time, But you can tell, oh, you can
- 1:11:48Speaker 5: tell when it's fake, Like Mike, I could tell immediately
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: last week was really into the Bills take. And that's
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: why I attacked because I knew it was real. And
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: I didn't do it because, oh this is great, let's argue.
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: I did it because I legitimately disagreed with him, And
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: I think that's healthy debate. I think that's what makes
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: this medium entertaining. Now, sometimes when you do that, when
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: you really feel strongly about the side you're talking about,
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: there are going to be times when two guys are talking.
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: I thought his rant yesterday about the NCAA basketball was
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: a little bit faux.
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: Well you're talking about you're talking about. I heard that
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: rant yesterday, and it's a typical mic thing. You're conflating
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: two different things and you're making it all to be
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: the same. He hates people talking about their brackets. I
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: do too, and I think most people do. I always
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: say this, No one cares about your golf game. No
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: one cares about your brackets or your fantasy football team. Right,
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: No one cares about any of that stuff.
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: Are your kids' sports?
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: That's another one.
- 1:13:01Speaker 6: Okay, sorry to the people at this table.
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: He can he like extrapolates. You won't hear anybody talking
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: about the NCAA basketball tournament here.
- 1:13:10Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, okay, well that's great because.
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: You don't know anything about it. No one's allowed to
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: talk about it. No one wants to go on your
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: show and say I have Austin p which was his
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: example in the Final four. Right, that's not what people
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: want to do.
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: But you're not going to talk about the whole tournament.
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: Around here, they wear it as a badge of honor
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: that they know absolutely zero about college football or college basketball. See,
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: and that's somehow something that they're proud of, two of them.
- 1:13:36Speaker 6: I think that the part to me that confuses me
- 1:13:40Speaker 6: about that is I'm not I don't have a team
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: to root for, and I don't have a dog in
- 1:13:44Speaker 6: the fight. I used to root for Duke, to be
- 1:13:49Speaker 6: honest with you, but I don't like I go there.
- 1:13:52Speaker 6: So it's not like a big, strong allegiance. But I
- 1:13:56Speaker 6: just it helps me in my day job to know
- 1:14:01Speaker 6: the players in the draft that are playing in these games. Yes, so, like,
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: even though you might not be a college sports fan,
- 1:14:08Speaker 6: at some point, Cameron Boozer is going to be playing
- 1:14:11Speaker 6: the Celtics in a big game that you're gonna have
- 1:14:14Speaker 6: to talk about and it's good to know who the
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: heck Cameron Boozer is. And I just like that's the
- 1:14:18Speaker 6: part that I don't understand.
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: It couldn't have been any more perfectly illustating. And I
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: love you guys, know. I love Mike and TONI I
- 1:14:24Speaker 5: love going on this shows, but I think that they're
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: full of crap a lot of the time, and this
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: is one of them. The perfect example is last year
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: what Evan's talking about, Tony Maz really didn't have a
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: clue as to who Cooper Flag was.
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: Oh, I remember that he really didn't like he was,
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: like he was just overrated because a he didn't know
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: who he was and then be he found out he
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: was white, and like that made him over from me,
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: And you know, Cooper Flag, I don't know how great
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: he's going to be, you know, over the balance of
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: his career, but he's obviously every bit worthy of the
- 1:14:59Speaker 5: number one overall pick. And that a fine rookie year,
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: albeit for a terrible team.
- 1:15:03Speaker 6: Well I mean, I think it even better if it
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: wasn't on a terrible team. I remember Maz gave that
- 1:15:08Speaker 6: take and Cooper Flag was on the USA Select team,
- 1:15:11Speaker 6: which is like the B team that goes to the
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: camp to practice. It's like the practice squad for a
- 1:15:16Speaker 6: team USA. And Cooper Flag in the select team like
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: played a down to the wire game against the actual
- 1:15:24Speaker 6: USA basketball team, and after the game, Lebron James said
- 1:15:28Speaker 6: Cooper Flag was the best player on the court for
- 1:15:30Speaker 6: either team. And Tony Mas goes on the radio and
- 1:15:34Speaker 6: is like.
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: He's a bump, and I was just like, yeah, you
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: guys don't like college sports, and that again, you don't
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: have to like everything that I like. I mean, I
- 1:15:45Speaker 5: really like hockey and a lot of people don't. It's
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: a niche sport, the NHL hockey in general. I watch
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: a lot of college hockey. A lot of people don't
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: watch it. I'm not offended by it in any way.
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: For some reason, they take offense if you like sports
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: and they don't. Well, I don't really understand.
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: My psychological profile of Mike is that he resents the
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: fact that he has to work so hard to maintain
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: his Nantucket lifestyle, so he has no time for people
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: who actually have the passion for things like college and
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: it comes out. It comes out. You can tell that
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: he would rather be not doing this, but he has
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: to do it.
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: It's like, you know, like I said, with the draft,
- 1:16:25Speaker 6: like they go they have barth on this time of
- 1:16:27Speaker 6: year and they make fun of him for knowing all
- 1:16:29Speaker 6: these players. And it's like, you know, Indiana and Miami
- 1:16:32Speaker 6: just played in the College football National Championship. There was
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: twenty NFL players on the field in that game. So
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: if you paid any second of attention to that, like
- 1:16:42Speaker 6: we how many times, Douce have we brought up Omar
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: Cooper Junior or a keey mesador or any of the
- 1:16:47Speaker 6: guys that played in that game, and like you would
- 1:16:50Speaker 6: at least have some sort of like be oh, yeah,
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: I remember him. He played in the National Championship, and
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: they're pretty good.
- 1:16:55Speaker 4: It's good to speak with some basis of knowledge.
- 1:16:58Speaker 6: Right, But that's an NFL. That's you know, not even
- 1:17:01Speaker 6: talking about it being a college football thing.
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: But you could also be in between that, like you
- 1:17:06Speaker 5: don't have to know every single guy, no, but it helps,
- 1:17:09Speaker 5: But you also don't have to close your eyes and
- 1:17:12Speaker 5: go out of your way not to know any of them, right,
- 1:17:15Speaker 5: which is what they do right, right?
- 1:17:17Speaker 7: All right?
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: What's really important? A Pillows in Stacy in California has
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: a suggestion, what do you got Stacey bring it to me.
- 1:17:26Speaker 16: Well, my son researches everything kind of like you do, Fred,
- 1:17:31Speaker 16: and I've appreciated your suggestions throughout the years. I'm still
- 1:17:34Speaker 16: trying to get my husband to buy a speed Queen,
- 1:17:36Speaker 16: but his recommendation. I bought it for him. He loves it,
- 1:17:41Speaker 16: and then I bought it two other people and they
- 1:17:43Speaker 16: love it.
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: Is a pillow cube. Pillow cube, Okay.
- 1:17:48Speaker 16: It's one of those things you got to buy online.
- 1:17:51Speaker 16: I'm not getting a kickback. I don't own any interest
- 1:17:53Speaker 16: in the company. One of those things comes in a box,
- 1:17:56Speaker 16: you know.
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: Like those mattresses do, and then it like yeah, it's compressed,
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: and then it comes out. Yeah.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: They sold over one point five million.
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: Okay, pillow cube. All right, I'm gonna go do my research.
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: Thanks Stacy, all right, thank you. Steve from Pittsburgh writes
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: in I recently bought my side sleeper wife who has
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: a long struggle depth shoulder problem pain. That's me a
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: Medcline pillow. It's great. It's a whole system designed for
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: side sleepers and provides a ton of heft between your
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: neck and shoulder. Med Cline. Write that down MEDUSA and
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: client you've got the Cube, pillow Cube, and the med cline.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: I mean the cube one is a cube. It's literally
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: a cube, which you know usually pillows kind of rounded edges.
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: This one, you know, it's hard, so maybe it would
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: be good for your specifically designed for side sleepers too, Okay,
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: special side sleepers.
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: I'm going I'm gonna make a purchase tonight online for whatever.
- 1:18:56Speaker 6: It is that I decided.
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: So this is this is big, is big.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: I tried to order one and it says four or
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: four page off found, so maybe they got to update
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: their ones.
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: Yeah, Spiing Fresno says, I'll throw my hat in the
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: ring with the pillow brand. Healthy Sleep their memory foam
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: hyperallergenic materials, but sleep cool and are designed to promote
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: proper spinal alignment for side sleepers. They have varying loft levels,
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: so the high loft version might be right for you,
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: given that, as mister lifuse to say, you have shoulders
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: like boulders. We just got a new mattress, went with
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: King Coyle and wanted performance pillows, which described the Healthy
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: Sleep brand. However, they are not bank breakers. I know
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: that's not important to you, but I think these fine
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: sleep materials will be a suitable addition to your palatial estate. Listen,
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: money is always an issue. But you cry, you buy ones.
- 1:19:48Speaker 4: Cry once with the pillow, get a good pillow, something
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: like pabo that.
- 1:19:57Speaker 5: Says it's okay, she's been through a lot of them.
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: Okay, I need to write these down. I need to
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: write these down. Does anyone have a pen?
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: When we got the med climb, we got the side
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: cube and what what's what's what's the pillow cube?
- 1:20:16Speaker 6: The E P A B.
- 1:20:19Speaker 5: But it's just a conto memory foam pillow.
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: Yeah, and then what was the other one? Oh?
- 1:20:24Speaker 5: That?
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: And then the healthy sleep? Did you write down health
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: healthy one?
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: Okay, okay, just write it down though, I mean you
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: can get that one ergonomical cerrocal pillow.
- 1:20:37Speaker 4: Okay, he just turned it all right, we're off to
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: a hate starts.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: I mean, these med climb ones. I mean you're talking yep,
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: two hundred and fifty bucks?
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: Oh is that right? Really? Wow?
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: That's that's a deal breaker for you.
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: Well, if I want pillow, I want? Oh no, if
- 1:20:57Speaker 4: if listen, don't underestimate the power of good sleep.
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: Oh no, I wouldn't know.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: It's uninterrupted, deep rem sleep, you know, it's healthy, it's
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: healthier for you. Paul, you should look into it. I
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: believe me.
- 1:21:12Speaker 5: I know I should, But I haven't had a go
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: on like the seventh grade.
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: You have you thought about pills? No, I don't sleeping pills.
- 1:21:20Speaker 5: I don't.
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: Yeah, something like that.
- 1:21:24Speaker 6: PM is like not for that deuce like melowtonin like
- 1:21:29Speaker 6: something healthy.
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: You can take a bath with bath salts. I guess
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: that gets the call you a bath guy.
- 1:21:35Speaker 5: I don't really like taking No, I haven't taken a bathroom.
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: You don't go to the Evert bath house.
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: There is not an ever bath house. There's no no
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: beach in Evert, no bath I.
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: Thought there was a bathhouse in Evert. All the old
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: guys sit around.
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: That's that's just the rest of.
- 1:21:51Speaker 5: Hang hanging low. Yeah. No, I think that there's not
- 1:21:56Speaker 5: really any pill that's going to be able to pay
- 1:21:58Speaker 5: for anything that I need. So that's that's the issue
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: for my sleep.
- 1:22:01Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I understand that.
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: Paul Max writes in so back to football, if anyone
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: has If anyone has pillows stuff, put it in your subject.
- 1:22:10Speaker 6: Or to talk about football. Now, fine, good afternoon.
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: As good as AJ Brown has been, he's older and
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: it appeared he was not happy while winning a Super Bowl.
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: I prefer Jacksonville's Thomas over him. He's not available, though
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: Liam Cohen said he's not interested. He comes in under Vrabels,
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: younger and cheaper.
- 1:22:33Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean that's true. If Brian Thomas Junior was available,
- 1:22:37Speaker 6: then we would.
- 1:22:38Speaker 5: I would prefer Brian Thomas now I would, but I
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: don't I believe the report that he's not available.
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: David in Madrid, finally able to watch the show live
- 1:22:48Speaker 4: for the first time in a while. Patriots have eleven
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: picks in the draft would lead me to two questions. One,
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: is there such a thing as having too many picks?
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: I think yes. Two, Which of the following op since
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: do you believe is most probable out of three? A
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: they use all of the picks and double dip in
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: certain positions edge, tight end, wide receiver, et cetera. B
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: they use a few of those picks to trade up
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: in the mid rounds or see they trade for veteran players.
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: What do you think they'll do? Multiple picks at multiple positions,
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: so you think they'll use eleven picks.
- 1:23:20Speaker 6: I think they will come pretty close. Like maybe I
- 1:23:23Speaker 6: just think that the the value of the picks where
- 1:23:26Speaker 6: they have multiple picks in the round is not very high,
- 1:23:29Speaker 6: Like you have four to six round picks, right, Like.
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: What I was just going to say, like having eleven
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: picks and a lot of them are second, third, and
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: fourth guys.
- 1:23:37Speaker 5: That's eight of the eleven picks or later exactly right,
- 1:23:41Speaker 5: So it's.
- 1:23:41Speaker 6: Not exactly like they have a ton of value in
- 1:23:44Speaker 6: all these draft picks that they have. You know, I
- 1:23:47Speaker 6: wouldn't say they double dip at receiver. I think you know,
- 1:23:51Speaker 6: Due's kind of outlined it earlier, like you already have
- 1:23:54Speaker 6: a lot of bodies in that room. But you know,
- 1:23:56Speaker 6: double dipping at tight end makes some sense. Double dipping
- 1:23:59Speaker 6: on the offensive line or defensive lines is always you
- 1:24:02Speaker 6: always can use bodies at those types of positions. So
- 1:24:05Speaker 6: you know, I could see either one of all the
- 1:24:07Speaker 6: above there. You know, two tight ends makes a lot
- 1:24:09Speaker 6: of sense. It's a really deep diight end class. But
- 1:24:12Speaker 6: it's hard to kind of parse through who's better than
- 1:24:14Speaker 6: whom in some of these, you know situations like I've
- 1:24:17Speaker 6: been getting into some of the day three tight ends
- 1:24:20Speaker 6: now and it's like, you know, they have pros and
- 1:24:22Speaker 6: cons all of them, and it's you know you throw
- 1:24:24Speaker 6: two darts, then you'd double your chances again.
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: Paul in Providence a few episodes ago, Fred was saying
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: Booty still has some upside left. I stand by that,
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: and Evan was more along the lines that at this
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: point he is what he is. I agree with Evan.
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: We have seen enough to have a good idea that
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: what he's shown what he is. That said so too
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: was Dobbs. He's a serviceable low end number two and
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: having shown what he is over four seasons, projecting above
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: and beyond that is risky. How many times have the
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: Patriots signed a wide receiver in the knee jerk reaction
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: that the Patriots will unlock his potential by using him
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: the the way he should be used because the previous
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: team had no idea how.
- 1:25:03Speaker 7: To do so.
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: Who is the last wide receiver not named Welker to
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: have success with the Patriots not seen on a previous team.
- 1:25:11Speaker 6: I would just I don't necessarily disagree with that premise.
- 1:25:14Speaker 6: I would disagree with the low end number two part
- 1:25:16Speaker 6: on Romeo Dobbs. I think Romeo Dobbs is a quality
- 1:25:18Speaker 6: number two receiver, not a low end number two receiver.
- 1:25:22Speaker 6: And I don't think anybody's really expecting him to be
- 1:25:25Speaker 6: more than that here.
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: No, I agree with the emailer. I think that Dobbs
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: kind of is what he is too. Now if he
- 1:25:31Speaker 5: stays healthy and maybe that might be the difference. Could
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: his numbers go up a little bit, Yeah, but I
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: think the kind of receiver he is, No, I don't
- 1:25:39Speaker 5: think you're all of a sudden going to see like
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: a fifteen hundred yard season out of him, you know.
- 1:25:43Speaker 6: But I don't think it's out of the realm that
- 1:25:45Speaker 6: he could be pushing a thousand. Yeah, because of the
- 1:25:47Speaker 6: volume that's he might get a few more opportunities. But
- 1:25:51Speaker 6: at the same time, I agree with the emailer. Like
- 1:25:54Speaker 6: he was on a team that they spread their wealth.
- 1:25:56Speaker 6: He's coming to a team that they spread the wealth. Like,
- 1:25:59Speaker 6: I don't think this a huge difference, but I kind
- 1:26:03Speaker 6: of like the premise is what it is. I think
- 1:26:05Speaker 6: that Dobbs is kind of four years in five years
- 1:26:08Speaker 6: in this is what you're gonna get, you know.
- 1:26:11Speaker 5: But I think that's pretty good. I don't think it's
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: a low end guy. I think he's a solid too.
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: I think Elliott said last week he thought that that
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: Booty could move around a little bit more. I think
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: that potentially could be something that could I think.
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: I don't think.
- 1:26:26Speaker 6: I'm just aware of that point of it. Like I
- 1:26:28Speaker 6: keep hearing that that all he's really is isy and
- 1:26:31Speaker 6: he can play more inside and like maybe pre injury
- 1:26:36Speaker 6: lsu Kseh on Booty was that guy. I just don't
- 1:26:39Speaker 6: see like the suddenness and the separation ability that like
- 1:26:43Speaker 6: he's this is a guy that wins with like play
- 1:26:45Speaker 6: strength and body positioning and hands and like that that
- 1:26:49Speaker 6: sort of thing. And I keep hearing that, and it's
- 1:26:52Speaker 6: not just like to come at deuce Like I keep
- 1:26:54Speaker 6: hearing that. Elliot Wolf said it. Other people have said it, Oh,
- 1:26:57Speaker 6: he's really misscast in this offense. And it's like three
- 1:27:00Speaker 6: different regimes have played him on the outside at this point,
- 1:27:03Speaker 6: Like ye, at what point is that like just who
- 1:27:06Speaker 6: he is?
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you know you're not coming to me for sure.
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: I mean, I I with you. I think that's kind
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: of what he is at this point. But I just
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: wonder when you look at the group, do they try
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: to see if they can get anything more out of him?
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: I mean, maybe you know, Josh in year two, does
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: he see something? I would think that if Josh had
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: grand designs on what he could do with Keishambudi, it
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: would happened last year.
- 1:27:25Speaker 5: My question with that, you know, and I think you
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: can make it to be whatever you want it to be,
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: like there's more in there. Okay, So does that mean
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: he would catch more passes? Yeah, I think it's reasonable
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: to expect him to catch more passes than he caught
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: last year. Does he make more plays? I don't think
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: you will. And then you start to wonder.
- 1:27:44Speaker 6: You ask.
- 1:27:46Speaker 5: The downfield stuff, the big plays, the touchdowns? Is that
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: more important to you? Like I I for Alec Pierce,
- 1:27:52Speaker 5: the reason that he intrigued me was he's a thousand
- 1:27:55Speaker 5: yard receiver on low volume. I find that to be
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: incredibly valuable and incredibly rare. I think there's a lot
- 1:28:02Speaker 5: of guys that give you ninety catches for a thousand yards.
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: There ain't a lot of guys that give you fifty
- 1:28:06Speaker 5: catches for a thousand yards. I'll take the ladder. A
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: lot of other people think it's more important to get,
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: you know, the receptions and the first downs and all
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: that stuff. What Booty brought to the offense last year.
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: Was plays fifty four thousand.
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: You're changing games, right, And I think Booty changed some
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: games last year, you know, with some of the big
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: plays that he made, you know, not the least of
- 1:28:29Speaker 5: which was the one handed touchdown against Houston's in this game, right, Like,
- 1:28:32Speaker 5: I don't want to lose those at the expense of
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: him catching thirty more passes, right, but not making those
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: kinds of plays. So someone might, reasonably not being wrong, say, well,
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: he see he was much more valuable he caught thirty
- 1:28:45Speaker 5: more passes. I would probably argue if he did that
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: at the expense of the big plays, that you got
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: a lesser player.
- 1:28:52Speaker 6: Yeah, I just when you look at him, like, do
- 1:28:54Speaker 6: you look at him as like a digs that's going
- 1:28:56Speaker 6: to be in the slot, like breaking the reading coverage
- 1:29:02Speaker 6: and finding soft spots and getting separate, Like, I just
- 1:29:05Speaker 6: I don't think that that's necessarily his game. I think
- 1:29:08Speaker 6: that's what a lot of people hoped his game was
- 1:29:10Speaker 6: gonna be, and just, unfortunately is his career path has
- 1:29:13Speaker 6: kind of took him away from that.
- 1:29:15Speaker 4: Joe from Supporo Maine rights in Maine support Japan. Oh
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: why didn't I say, may? I don't know, I had
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: I had Maine on my mind. We were talking about
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: Cooper flag, go.
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: Find my son and give him some money. He's really
- 1:29:29Speaker 5: annoying right now.
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: My question is the presence of number one receiver. I
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: read that Elliott Wolf said that OC Josh McDaniel's offense
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: is designed in such a way that the defense can't
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: key on the number one receiver. But I remember when
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: Tom Brady thrived, he was teamed with Randy Moass one year,
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: like in O seven, and look how good Brady was
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: that year. Then there was Rob Gronkowski during the Super
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: Bowl years of sixteen to nineteen. So I think the
- 1:29:55Speaker 4: presence of a number one receiver does count. That's why
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: I don't want the Patriots to stop looking for that
- 1:30:01Speaker 4: receiver this coming season. AJ Brown maybe, but I hope
- 1:30:05Speaker 4: they find another receiver, either in the draft or other
- 1:30:08Speaker 4: free agents. What do you think?
- 1:30:10Speaker 6: So, yeah, I think the way the question was posed,
- 1:30:13Speaker 6: because I've seen the folk go around, I have to
- 1:30:15Speaker 6: go in context. Yeah, the way the way the question
- 1:30:17Speaker 6: was posed was like, can you win games without a
- 1:30:20Speaker 6: number one wide receiver? And was he supposed to say no?
- 1:30:23Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:30:24Speaker 6: Because they're trying a corner, right, we all know looking
- 1:30:27Speaker 6: at their roster objectively that they probably don't have a true,
- 1:30:31Speaker 6: bona fide number one receiver. So if he comes out
- 1:30:34Speaker 6: in a media session and says, yeah, no, you can't
- 1:30:36Speaker 6: win big without a number one wide receiver, then he's
- 1:30:39Speaker 6: basically saying that they're not they're short players, right. So
- 1:30:43Speaker 6: I think that the way that it was phrased, he
- 1:30:46Speaker 6: sort of said, well, you know, there's there's different ways
- 1:30:48Speaker 6: to do it. And I think, you know, the Dabbs
- 1:30:51Speaker 6: situation in Green Bay was kind of pointing to that
- 1:30:53Speaker 6: a little bit of like this was a team that
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: had four or five guys that kind of shared the
- 1:30:58Speaker 6: ball and they were able to be a pretty active offense.
- 1:31:00Speaker 6: But I don't I think it was more about the
- 1:31:03Speaker 6: context of the question.
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: I think you got to always keep trying, and that's yeah,
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: you know, and look the draft every year, there's dozens
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: of these guys. I mean, we've been doing the draft
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: like hardcore for a while now, and it's just every
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: single season you see guys who potentially coming out look
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: like game changers, and that's what you got to find.
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: For Drake some point, I continue to look at the
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: tight end position. I just that's as much as people
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: are obsessed with that number one receiver. I would love
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: to see, you know, a legit move tight end that
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: can really just create some mismatches. I think it fits
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: Drake well. I think if it's the offense, well, I
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: think it takes some of the pressure off of the
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: wide receivers. I just continue to see that. I don't
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: know if a rookie's going to come in and be
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: that guy, but I see that that tight end spot
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: is a huge opportunity.
- 1:31:42Speaker 6: Yeah, I just wonder with a receiver. I think we
- 1:31:44Speaker 6: are seeing that receiver talent is starting to climb draft
- 1:31:48Speaker 6: boards every single year, where like there used to be
- 1:31:51Speaker 6: you know times where you know, we talk a lot
- 1:31:53Speaker 6: about the nineteen class that guys like Terry McLaurin or
- 1:31:55Speaker 6: Puoka you know, goes in the fourth or fifth round.
- 1:31:58Speaker 6: But I don't see that happen as much anymore. I
- 1:32:02Speaker 6: think a lot of the times now, these receivers that
- 1:32:04Speaker 6: are coming in and making like instant splashes and instant
- 1:32:07Speaker 6: you know, immediate impacts or top fifty picks, and so
- 1:32:11Speaker 6: you kind of have to go out and get that
- 1:32:13Speaker 6: guy early. Like I don't think that the days of
- 1:32:16Speaker 6: you know, you found you know, the stud receiver in
- 1:32:19Speaker 6: the fourth or fifth round. I'm not sure you're going
- 1:32:21Speaker 6: to get that. Tight ends a different story, Like, that's
- 1:32:23Speaker 6: a position and there's been a lot of studies about it,
- 1:32:27Speaker 6: Like athletic testing is. If there's anything the combine is
- 1:32:31Speaker 6: worth looking at, it's at the tight end position. It's
- 1:32:33Speaker 6: the one position where athletic traits really translate to NFL production.
- 1:32:37Speaker 6: And a big reason for it is because of the
- 1:32:40Speaker 6: way they use tight ends in college. They don't throw
- 1:32:42Speaker 6: to the tight ends as often in college and create
- 1:32:44Speaker 6: mismatches with tight ends in college as much as they
- 1:32:47Speaker 6: do in the pros. So some of these guys that
- 1:32:50Speaker 6: you know where these great combine testers have been the
- 1:32:52Speaker 6: ones that have hit the biggest at that position.
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: Vincent in North Carolina has another Pillow suggestion the wolf
- 1:32:58Speaker 4: Shire no plastics, organic handmade sheep to bed.
- 1:33:02Speaker 6: Is that it sounds like a fancy hotel, the Wolfshire.
- 1:33:05Speaker 5: Now we know the we know the will show the Wilshire.
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: Yeah, oh it's the Woolshire, wol woolfshore wool. Yeah, I
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: mean eighty these these don't look good to me, Fred,
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: This doesn't look like you're.
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: I will put it on the list. I'm going to
- 1:33:20Speaker 4: do my research.
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: Yeah, this is gonna be a great It's going to
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: take a nap at various stores.
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: You can't do that. That's the problem, is the hygienic thing.
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: You really try it out.
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: I put my head on you know, John and Derby England.
- 1:33:35Speaker 4: Sorry for the possibly dumb question, but I have not
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: heard this idea ever talked about. I live in England
- 1:33:42Speaker 4: and follow football soccer very closely. And teams can do
- 1:33:45Speaker 4: deals in advance. Arsenal wants a player from PSG for
- 1:33:49Speaker 4: a twenty six twenty seven season, for example, then they
- 1:33:52Speaker 4: can do the deal now and announce the details in
- 1:33:54Speaker 4: the press. Is there any way we could offer a
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: team picks from this year's draft but announce we don't
- 1:34:00Speaker 4: be getting the player until June? Or is that just
- 1:34:03Speaker 4: not permitted in the NFL?
- 1:34:05Speaker 6: Not allowed unfortunately? Like you you can't designate a trade
- 1:34:09Speaker 6: as a post June one trade, like you can designate
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: a cutting a player like a post June one cut.
- 1:34:15Speaker 6: If they could do that, I think that all this
- 1:34:17Speaker 6: aj Brown nonsense would probably be put to bed pretty quickly.
- 1:34:20Speaker 4: But you can't.
- 1:34:21Speaker 5: So the other thing is you can do those advanced trades,
- 1:34:25Speaker 5: and you saw one with that blew up, you know,
- 1:34:28Speaker 5: epically with the Raiders and the Ravens. Before the league
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: year started. The teams had agreed to make a trade
- 1:34:34Speaker 5: and all the details leaked in the press and it
- 1:34:37Speaker 5: wasn't official until the start of the league year, and
- 1:34:40Speaker 5: then it started the league year, Baltimore backed out of it,
- 1:34:43Speaker 5: you know, for various reasons. So you can't do that,
- 1:34:46Speaker 5: I would. I have a question for you guys, and
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: I don't really understand. I don't know the answer. But
- 1:34:52Speaker 5: the whole June one thing, like why do they do that?
- 1:34:55Speaker 5: Like why not just if you're given a mechanism that
- 1:35:01Speaker 5: teams can you know, sort of spread the cap hit
- 1:35:03Speaker 5: out over you know, two years instead of one, then
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: just let them do it. Like why do you have
- 1:35:08Speaker 5: to wait till June first to do it? It doesn't
- 1:35:10Speaker 5: hurt there's a reason, but it doesn't help the player,
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: like if the player gets designated you know. And that
- 1:35:15Speaker 5: was like they originally said, you you know, if you
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: if you cut a player after June first, you could
- 1:35:20Speaker 5: do that, but then that hurt the player because now
- 1:35:22Speaker 5: he doesn't hit free agency until June first. So then
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: they said, well, okay, you can do designated designated them
- 1:35:28Speaker 5: with June first cut. Okay, so that way it helped it.
- 1:35:30Speaker 5: You know, the player doesn't get hurt. Why, like, why
- 1:35:32Speaker 5: are we doing this? Like if the if the Eagles
- 1:35:36Speaker 5: are in fact waiting till June first and it's inevitable
- 1:35:38Speaker 5: and they're going to make a trade, this is dumb.
- 1:35:40Speaker 5: The NFL should change this.
- 1:35:42Speaker 6: I think it's a bit of an outdated rule. Yeah,
- 1:35:46Speaker 6: I think that absolutely used to be a much bigger
- 1:35:48Speaker 6: deal h fifteen to twenty years ago, and more of
- 1:35:51Speaker 6: these things would happen, and you get to the draft
- 1:35:54Speaker 6: and maybe the board fell a certain way, and so
- 1:35:57Speaker 6: you would draft players at certain positions and then the
- 1:35:59Speaker 6: vet are in. Players that were expensive on your team
- 1:36:03Speaker 6: maybe were more expendable after the draft, and so the
- 1:36:06Speaker 6: post June one was a way to sort of circumvent
- 1:36:10Speaker 6: the cap issues with all of that. And now we
- 1:36:12Speaker 6: don't see there's always, you know, a small handful every
- 1:36:16Speaker 6: single year, but we don't see the volume of post
- 1:36:18Speaker 6: June one cuts the same that we did maybe twenty
- 1:36:21Speaker 6: years ago.
- 1:36:21Speaker 5: But it's because you can designate the guy. You don't
- 1:36:25Speaker 5: have to do you know, you don't have to wait
- 1:36:26Speaker 5: till June first. Anymore. I don't know why an exception
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: isn't made for the trades. The way is for the
- 1:36:32Speaker 5: straight releases, and you shouldn't be able to do it
- 1:36:34Speaker 5: for every guy. And I think teams are only I mean,
- 1:36:37Speaker 5: unless this has changed. I don't I'm not up on
- 1:36:39Speaker 5: the all the details of the CBA, but I think
- 1:36:42Speaker 5: you can only do it for one guy, right. You
- 1:36:45Speaker 5: can't just designate all your releases as post June first,
- 1:36:48Speaker 5: I don't think.
- 1:36:49Speaker 6: I think it's two two.
- 1:36:50Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, it's.
- 1:36:51Speaker 6: Two now, but you'd ever you very rarely see a
- 1:36:54Speaker 6: team designate two different players like it happens very rarely,
- 1:36:57Speaker 6: but I believe the maximum is two.
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37:00Speaker 6: I don't really have a good answer for the trade. Well,
- 1:37:03Speaker 6: if I was missing something, why you can't designate a
- 1:37:05Speaker 6: player as a trade as a post June one trade
- 1:37:09Speaker 6: when you can do it as a cut Because I
- 1:37:10Speaker 6: asked somebody about if you could do that and I
- 1:37:14Speaker 6: was told that no, you can't. And I don't really
- 1:37:17Speaker 6: understand why not. It doesn't that part of it doesn't.
- 1:37:20Speaker 5: I think the league has done some good stuff with
- 1:37:22Speaker 5: like IR for example. You know it used to be
- 1:37:25Speaker 5: if you put on IR during the season you were out,
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: no questions asked.
- 1:37:29Speaker 7: That's it.
- 1:37:29Speaker 5: So now you can designate guys to return first, it
- 1:37:32Speaker 5: was just like one guy, you know whatever. Now you
- 1:37:35Speaker 5: know you can do it to whatever. Eight I think
- 1:37:38Speaker 5: it's eight something like that. You can do it to
- 1:37:40Speaker 5: multiple players. I think these things have improved rosters and
- 1:37:44Speaker 5: improved the game. I think they're positives for you know,
- 1:37:49Speaker 5: the everyday attrition that happens in the NFL, like you.
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: Know, practice squad too, and the quality of depth.
- 1:37:55Speaker 5: I mean, the practice squads are a little ridiculous, but
- 1:37:58Speaker 5: I'd rather have sixteen five when I first when I
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: started with Fred, now literally the practice squad was five guys. Yeah,
- 1:38:05Speaker 5: now it's sixteen.
- 1:38:06Speaker 6: They they did revise the post June pre June one
- 1:38:11Speaker 6: thing I don't know, probably about twenty years ago, by
- 1:38:15Speaker 6: allowing you to designate releases, because what was happening was
- 1:38:19Speaker 6: is that they would cut players in June, and those
- 1:38:21Speaker 6: players weren't getting market value contracts because everybody had already
- 1:38:24Speaker 6: spent all their cap space.
- 1:38:25Speaker 5: It wasn't the players right.
- 1:38:27Speaker 6: So they revised the rule to allow you to designate it,
- 1:38:30Speaker 6: but they did not it does not apply to trades,
- 1:38:33Speaker 6: which I still don't. No one's given me a good
- 1:38:35Speaker 6: answer as to what the difference is.
- 1:38:36Speaker 5: That makes a lot of sense to me. But there's
- 1:38:39Speaker 5: probably a reason.
- 1:38:40Speaker 6: You know it's different. That's it. I'm like, tell me
- 1:38:44Speaker 6: how I don't understand.
- 1:38:45Speaker 4: Pete and Florida. I've been really interested in all your takes,
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: even you Fred, that was how you build your team
- 1:38:53Speaker 4: like the Rams have been doing it for a while now.
- 1:38:55Speaker 4: I understand that you probably need the quarterback before you
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: make your decisions like they are. They seem to have
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: decided that the draft is not as important as every
- 1:39:04Speaker 4: other team does. It's an interesting possibility, new method of
- 1:39:07Speaker 4: building your team for success.
- 1:39:09Speaker 6: I would push back on them saying, I'm saying that
- 1:39:12Speaker 6: they don't think the draft is important. They just don't
- 1:39:15Speaker 6: value picks the way that other teams value picks. They
- 1:39:20Speaker 6: their studies, their analytics, whatever, show that there's not as
- 1:39:24Speaker 6: big of a gap between the first round picks and
- 1:39:27Speaker 6: you know, the subsequent rounds, so they don't put as
- 1:39:30Speaker 6: much stock into the difference between having a first round
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: pick at the end of the first round or second
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: round pick or a third round pick like some teams do.
- 1:39:37Speaker 6: They treat that they treat a first round pick like
- 1:39:40Speaker 6: it's a precious gem. The Rams don't think at it
- 1:39:43Speaker 6: that they have been so I guess but they but
- 1:39:47Speaker 6: they're very very good at drafting. On days two and three,
- 1:39:51Speaker 6: they hit on days two and three.
- 1:39:53Speaker 5: I would also say, if you you know, and we're
- 1:39:55Speaker 5: just talking about this current regime, right, let's need Yeah,
- 1:39:58Speaker 5: Sean McVay, off the top of my head, what's the
- 1:40:03Speaker 5: highest first round pick that they traded, because I think
- 1:40:08Speaker 5: the one time that they didn't make the playoffs may
- 1:40:10Speaker 5: have been the year that they got Verse. They got
- 1:40:12Speaker 5: Jared Verse, right, and that was like fourteen or something
- 1:40:15Speaker 5: like that. So I think they're probably looking at it
- 1:40:18Speaker 5: as like we're picking twenty eighth to thirty two. To
- 1:40:22Speaker 5: Evan's point, is there a huge difference between twenty nine
- 1:40:25Speaker 5: and say, you know, sixty, not as big as there
- 1:40:28Speaker 5: is between ten and thirty? Probably right. So I think
- 1:40:34Speaker 5: they've also drafted exceptionally well, and people don't give them
- 1:40:38Speaker 5: enough credit, I think for because they for theaction.
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: In the first round, and I feel like we just
- 1:40:43Speaker 6: cut it off at the first round, like they there's
- 1:40:45Speaker 6: that stat out there that they haven't made like a
- 1:40:47Speaker 6: first round pick in like eight.
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: Of the nine last nine out of verse, right, just
- 1:40:51Speaker 4: that one guy.
- 1:40:51Speaker 6: But they've also hit on Pokin Nikua. They've hit on
- 1:40:54Speaker 6: Kobe Turner and Brandon Fisk and Cameron Kitchens and Kyron
- 1:40:59Speaker 6: Williams and I can keep going.
- 1:41:01Speaker 4: So they've been able.
- 1:41:03Speaker 6: Yeah, they've been able to hit on all of these
- 1:41:05Speaker 6: players on days two and three, and that their scouting
- 1:41:09Speaker 6: has been fantastic, and that's why they don't have to
- 1:41:12Speaker 6: put all their stock in their first round pick.
- 1:41:14Speaker 5: And I just do think that if they have a
- 1:41:16Speaker 5: bad year or two coming up, I'd be very surprised
- 1:41:20Speaker 5: if they were as cavalier about dealing off, say the
- 1:41:23Speaker 5: eleventh pick of the draft, as opposed to twenty seven. Yeah,
- 1:41:27Speaker 5: which is I think a lot of the first round
- 1:41:29Speaker 5: picks that they've traded have been late first rounders, and
- 1:41:32Speaker 5: there is a difference.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: YEA, how do they handle the transition from Stafford? You know,
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: as he gets towards the end, do they use the
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: late first round pick on him or do you know?
- 1:41:40Speaker 5: I think Ty Simpson, you were talking about Pittsburgh earlier,
- 1:41:44Speaker 5: I could see I don't think it's going to happen,
- 1:41:46Speaker 5: but I could see a world where McVeigh says, I
- 1:41:49Speaker 5: can work with this kid for a year or two, yeah,
- 1:41:51Speaker 5: and he could replace Stafford.
- 1:41:52Speaker 6: They are more to me like a fascinating case study
- 1:41:55Speaker 6: of how do they scout to be so good on
- 1:41:58Speaker 6: days two and three? You know, I think a lot
- 1:42:00Speaker 6: of their scouting is kind of unique and outside the
- 1:42:03Speaker 6: But they don't go to the combine, they don't do
- 1:42:05Speaker 6: thirty visits, they don't have a lot of contact with
- 1:42:09Speaker 6: the players. They're drafting strictly based off of the numbers
- 1:42:12Speaker 6: and based off the film. They're not looking into like,
- 1:42:15Speaker 6: let me get to know this guy as a human, Like,
- 1:42:17Speaker 6: they know that's not their jam. So they look at
- 1:42:21Speaker 6: analytics like a big reason why they drafted Pukin Nikuos
- 1:42:24Speaker 6: because of how fast he was in game speed like
- 1:42:27Speaker 6: player tracking data paid a huge role in drafting him.
- 1:42:30Speaker 6: He didn't run particularly well in his forty and they
- 1:42:34Speaker 6: didn't care because he was fast in pats and so
- 1:42:36Speaker 6: they just prioritize that. It's interesting like how they've gone
- 1:42:40Speaker 6: about it, because they've just been nails in the draft,
- 1:42:42Speaker 6: even without first round.
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: Picks Zach and Watertown rights in I'm also sick of
- 1:42:46Speaker 4: the aj Brown stuff dealing with Howie is how I
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: imagine other teams fan bases felt about dealing with Danny
- 1:42:52Speaker 4: Ainge when he was the GM of the Celtics. This point,
- 1:42:55Speaker 4: I don't want to hear about him unless the schefter
- 1:42:57Speaker 4: breaking news comes in. Personally, I really keep coming back
- 1:43:02Speaker 4: to Rabel's comments about how in order to get a
- 1:43:04Speaker 4: WR one you have to draft them. I agree they
- 1:43:07Speaker 4: don't hit free agency and trading for them as a nightmare.
- 1:43:10Speaker 4: I know this fan base has PTSD when it comes
- 1:43:13Speaker 4: to trying to draft them, but you can't just give
- 1:43:15Speaker 4: up because of that one dude from ASU. Plus, this
- 1:43:19Speaker 4: regime is different and using a whole different scouting grading
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: system than the Belichick system. It sounds like the top
- 1:43:25Speaker 4: guys are going to actually listen to their scouts instead
- 1:43:29Speaker 4: of going rogue.
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: You know, just sorry, real quick. I was looking at
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: the Rams draft history. In twenty three, they drafted Byron
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: Young and Kobe Turner, both in the third round. Both
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: have gone on to play fifty one games each, and
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: they've combined for fifty one and a half sacks the
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: two of those third round picks. Yeah, it's just really
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: good production. Two defensive players in the third round.
- 1:43:53Speaker 5: Yeah, and they That's what I said. They drafted exceptionally well.
- 1:43:56Speaker 5: And I don't think they get as much credit for
- 1:43:58Speaker 5: that because the sexy quotes are f them picks and
- 1:44:02Speaker 5: that's what they're known for.
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: Was for Matthew Stafford and now you have a Super
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: Bowl the community.
- 1:44:08Speaker 5: They also, you know, do this with I was going
- 1:44:11Speaker 5: to say they went to the Super Bowl with Goth too,
- 1:44:13Speaker 5: you know.
- 1:44:13Speaker 6: The Jalen Ramsey trade, I want to say, might have
- 1:44:15Speaker 6: been with Jared Goth.
- 1:44:16Speaker 5: Yeah, and they they made So that's the other part
- 1:44:20Speaker 5: of this is like it's one thing to just trade
- 1:44:23Speaker 5: away your picks, but they traded them for veteran players
- 1:44:25Speaker 5: that were established and that have worked out for them.
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: Yeah, you know.
- 1:44:29Speaker 5: And then I think that they've done a good job
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: of sort of like a guy like Ramsey. They got
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: the best out of Ramsey, you know, when when he
- 1:44:36Speaker 5: was kind of becoming a pain, they moved on from him. Yeah,
- 1:44:39Speaker 5: you know, And I mean some teams. I think mcveig
- 1:44:42Speaker 5: is a really good coach, and I think they have
- 1:44:44Speaker 5: a good structure and a good, good culture, a lot
- 1:44:46Speaker 5: of less stuff that we talk about with with Rabel.
- 1:44:49Speaker 5: You know, I think that there was a huge difference
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: between the twenty five Patriots and the twenty four Patriots.
- 1:44:53Speaker 5: I don't think that they were necessarily all that much smarter,
- 1:44:56Speaker 5: but the way they went about it and the culture
- 1:45:00Speaker 5: and everything, the foundation that Mike talks about all the
- 1:45:02Speaker 5: time is apparent and all that stuff is true in LA.
- 1:45:06Speaker 6: I think it's just huge. You know, the word that
- 1:45:08Speaker 6: Rabel uses a lot is vision for players, like when
- 1:45:11Speaker 6: you have a coaching staff that understands, like how this
- 1:45:13Speaker 6: player's skill set fits into the scheme and the defense
- 1:45:17Speaker 6: and the type of way you want to play. And
- 1:45:19Speaker 6: I think Sean McVay does a great job of it too,
- 1:45:22Speaker 6: Like you know what a Rams wide receiver looks like,
- 1:45:24Speaker 6: because Sean McVeigh has a type and he has a
- 1:45:27Speaker 6: way that it fits into their their whole system. And
- 1:45:30Speaker 6: I think the Patriots kind of got back to that
- 1:45:32Speaker 6: last offseason. Was that that ability to say, you know,
- 1:45:36Speaker 6: we like Roberts, we know what we're gonna do with
- 1:45:38Speaker 6: Roberts Blaine, Like we know what we're gonna do with
- 1:45:40Speaker 6: Carlton Davis, we know what we're gonna do with Milton Williams,
- 1:45:42Speaker 6: And like those players having the trades that can fit
- 1:45:45Speaker 6: perfectly into it.
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: Let's get back to the phones. We'll go to Anthony
- 1:45:50Speaker 4: in Pennsylvania. What's up, Anthony.
- 1:45:54Speaker 18: Hey, longtime listener Watson For a while, A lot of
- 1:46:02Speaker 18: people I feel like I have him been talking about
- 1:46:04Speaker 18: Ramandre and his contract ending coming up. Who do you
- 1:46:10Speaker 18: guys think in this draft could be a good replacement
- 1:46:13Speaker 18: for him? I think, uh, Nicholas Singleton from penn State
- 1:46:16Speaker 18: six foot two twenty, I think he'd be a good replacement.
- 1:46:20Speaker 18: Or yeah, Jordan Vaughan out of Appleline Christen a little
- 1:46:25Speaker 18: uh lower level talent, but six three, two thirty five,
- 1:46:29Speaker 18: I think he could be like a good little Derek
- 1:46:31Speaker 18: Henry replacement for Mike Grabel. Thanks guys.
- 1:46:34Speaker 4: Okay, should the Patriots be in the future replacement of
- 1:46:40Speaker 4: Andre Stevenson market? I hope not.
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I think you're potentially in the draft
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: of running back this year. I mean, I think, you know,
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: third guy, day three kind of thing. But I find
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: myself questioning what kind of guy do they want? Because
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: we know what Henderson is, and he's you know, got
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: a specific set of skills. But I feel like I'm
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: a little bit of tracked into the stouter, fatter short
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: yardage big guys, you know, like to complement this group,
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like you got Romondri can
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: kind of do it all. Do you need like a
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: like a short yardage kind of guy, you know somebody's Yeah.
- 1:47:13Speaker 6: Maybe not super Me is not a he has an
- 1:47:15Speaker 6: out at the end of the contract at the end
- 1:47:17Speaker 6: of the year this year in his contract, but he's
- 1:47:19Speaker 6: under contract till twenty twenty eight. Like he's not a
- 1:47:21Speaker 6: free agent till twenty nine. So unless you're thinking that
- 1:47:24Speaker 6: he's you know, going the wrong way, you know, they're
- 1:47:26Speaker 6: not in like a contract crunch with him or obviously
- 1:47:30Speaker 6: with Henderson. But I just I feel like, yeah, you
- 1:47:34Speaker 6: can talk about like the their third running back being
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: a whole, but I think we could do that everywhere
- 1:47:38Speaker 6: on the roster. Like I keep hearing like cornerback is
- 1:47:42Speaker 6: a sneaky need. It's like, yeah, like if you want
- 1:47:44Speaker 6: to say, like the fourth corner is, like you could
- 1:47:46Speaker 6: upgrade a you know, the your fourth and fifth cornerbacks
- 1:47:49Speaker 6: on your roster, Like I think we could probably do
- 1:47:51Speaker 6: that with every single team, like you know, and so
- 1:47:54Speaker 6: like we're just kind of going through all of these
- 1:47:56Speaker 6: at this point. Like if they're gonna draft a running back.
- 1:47:58Speaker 6: They have four six round picks. I have no if
- 1:48:00Speaker 6: they want to throw a running back in the sixth round,
- 1:48:02Speaker 6: then no one's going to be going to, you know,
- 1:48:04Speaker 6: lose any sleep over that. But I hope that they're
- 1:48:06Speaker 6: not thinking of investing in another top one fifty pick
- 1:48:10Speaker 6: at that spot.
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: Just real quick, I share this. I saw Daniel Jeremiah
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: released as DJ DJ three point.
- 1:48:17Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: I don't you know, I don't go crazy for everybody's
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: mock drafts, but it's what I said earlier. He went with,
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: you know, Caden McDonald, defensive tackle from Ohio State. You know,
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: it's just it's a position I don't think a lot
- 1:48:26Speaker 2: of people are talking about care for.
- 1:48:28Speaker 6: You know, we went with a two gapping run stuffing
- 1:48:33Speaker 6: two down defensive linemen in the thirty first pick, and
- 1:48:37Speaker 6: his reasoning was something about Ohio State allowing Milton Williams
- 1:48:41Speaker 6: to sort of eat do the dirty work.
- 1:48:43Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean need somebody like somebody.
- 1:48:47Speaker 6: I don't know if you need him at thirty.
- 1:48:49Speaker 5: Everybody's going to need somebody to be a first round pick.
- 1:48:51Speaker 6: No, yeah, Malcolm Brown.
- 1:48:53Speaker 2: Everybody's focused on the edge at that spot though, and
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: I think that's just I think we need to be
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: open to other positions because as I play around with
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: mock draft, it's, I mean, you're right, like the Zion
- 1:49:03Speaker 2: Young's of the world, and Cashius Howell was gone in
- 1:49:05Speaker 2: this one. But I don't know, there's just not a
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: lot of like up there. He is ye perfect, you know,
- 1:49:09Speaker 2: it's you're considering maybe a safety.
- 1:49:11Speaker 6: Not to pick on, Like I'm not mean to pick
- 1:49:13Speaker 6: on DJ. I think when I look at DJ's mox,
- 1:49:15Speaker 6: I always look at like, okay, who are the five
- 1:49:17Speaker 6: or six guys that are in that range, because he
- 1:49:20Speaker 6: has a pretty good feel of the board. So like
- 1:49:22Speaker 6: maybe I don't necessarily agree with him taking McDonald's specifically,
- 1:49:26Speaker 6: but like who you know, I think Kenyan Sidiki that
- 1:49:31Speaker 6: chase that's pretty low from like what a you know
- 1:49:35Speaker 6: we've heard of Sadik I take a top twenty pick,
- 1:49:38Speaker 6: like all the way down at twenty seven.
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got Keller Fock down at thirtieth.
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: Okay, Uh back to the phones. Willhelms in Philam, what's up, Willem?
- 1:49:49Speaker 5: How you doing all right?
- 1:49:51Speaker 17: How how the team doing?
- 1:49:53Speaker 4: Teams? You know most of them aren't here, but we
- 1:49:56Speaker 4: saw the free agency here last week. Oh this team,
- 1:49:59Speaker 4: Oh we're doing that thing.
- 1:50:02Speaker 17: Yeah, the thing is you're next time, yes, Paul evident, dudes, Yes,
- 1:50:07Speaker 17: they're all doing Where do I be here? Look, I
- 1:50:14Speaker 17: don't again, I don't trust anymore. I don't trust the scouts.
- 1:50:19Speaker 17: I'm going back to twenty twenty fourth draft class. Where's
- 1:50:22Speaker 17: Rick May's weapon? Where's his tight ends? Where's the receivers?
- 1:50:26Speaker 17: And if Patriots have not proven to me or to
- 1:50:28Speaker 17: the Patriots fans that they can build, you can draft
- 1:50:32Speaker 17: or receiver. I haven't. We haven't seen it. And the
- 1:50:34Speaker 17: jury's still out, you know what I mean. I know
- 1:50:36Speaker 17: I hate you dudes. You said keep trying. Yeah, well,
- 1:50:41Speaker 17: I don't know to say about that one, you know
- 1:50:43Speaker 17: what I mean? So I'll just leave it at death FROs.
- 1:50:45Speaker 17: But I just don't trust this at all days, I know.
- 1:50:47Speaker 4: But like, don't you have to draw a line between
- 1:50:51Speaker 4: twenty twenty four and everything after that? Like, I know
- 1:50:54Speaker 4: Elliott's still here, but I don't know what constraints were
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: put on him prior Now. Vrabel's here, and you know,
- 1:51:02Speaker 4: Ryan Cowden's here. Was another voice in the room, and
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: maybe it's different and twenty five wasn't that bad.
- 1:51:09Speaker 5: Twenty five was a good draft.
- 1:51:10Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:51:12Speaker 6: I just hope that one of these days we can
- 1:51:14Speaker 6: get a wider William. We just need to get William
- 1:51:17Speaker 6: a wide receiver. That's your I get it, I got.
- 1:51:20Speaker 6: I'm with you, dude, you got, we got. I just
- 1:51:22Speaker 6: want it for you though, I want you to be happy.
- 1:51:25Speaker 17: Right, I'm right, I'm out on it. I'm out on
- 1:51:27Speaker 17: the A. J. Brown thing. I'm done with Dicky. I'm
- 1:51:30Speaker 17: done with Dick. I'm not keep slaying that you gonna
- 1:51:34Speaker 17: get him a not that's it on you know. But
- 1:51:37Speaker 17: I'm just saying that pictures cannot draft or receive it.
- 1:51:40Speaker 4: They can't.
- 1:51:40Speaker 16: They can't do it.
- 1:51:41Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:51:41Speaker 17: It's like kryptonite.
- 1:51:42Speaker 4: They haven't been able to.
- 1:51:44Speaker 5: I think it might be time for but one of
- 1:51:46Speaker 5: my little polls.
- 1:51:47Speaker 4: Oh for his little pole. All right, thanks William.
- 1:51:53Speaker 5: A lot of people in the show today. We had
- 1:51:55Speaker 5: multiple emailers now William and philam.
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: You know out.
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: Oh, everybody's out. Everybody's sick of AJ Brown. Everybody's out
- 1:52:02Speaker 5: on AJ Brown. So I'm really going to be concerned
- 1:52:06Speaker 5: on June first, right when they make this trade, how
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: everybody's going to jump back in. Yeah, and I'm back in.
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: Just you know, I'm not out.
- 1:52:14Speaker 5: I'm going to keep it. I'm going to keep a
- 1:52:15Speaker 5: little still in the amount of out.
- 1:52:18Speaker 6: The player by any means. But it is a hard
- 1:52:21Speaker 6: line to walk of. Like if you punt on receiver
- 1:52:24Speaker 6: in the draft planning on getting a J. Brown, well,
- 1:52:27Speaker 6: then you you kind you need to do everything to
- 1:52:29Speaker 6: get a J. Brown, and that might lead to a
- 1:52:32Speaker 6: significant not I wouldn't call it an overpay necessarily, but
- 1:52:36Speaker 6: you might be ended up giving up a lot because
- 1:52:38Speaker 6: you can't get out bid at that point.
- 1:52:40Speaker 5: Let me throw this out there, at the risk of
- 1:52:43Speaker 5: is it was it Simon that called us, At the
- 1:52:46Speaker 5: risk of, you know, drawing the ire of Simon, Simon says,
- 1:52:50Speaker 5: you know what, right, I gotta do what he says,
- 1:52:53Speaker 5: a bit of a bit of a force. You're better
- 1:52:56Speaker 5: than that, Okay, be better if they don't get AJ
- 1:53:01Speaker 5: Brown and they don't draft someone, say in the first
- 1:53:03Speaker 5: two rounds and this is the wide receiver cord they
- 1:53:06Speaker 5: go into the seat. So basically you go in the
- 1:53:07Speaker 5: same thing you had last year and subbing Dobbs for Diggs. No,
- 1:53:12Speaker 5: I'm just saying this is the same set of receivers
- 1:53:15Speaker 5: you had. Is that is it that bad? Like you
- 1:53:18Speaker 5: that much worse off?
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: No, I don't think so. I mean, I think you'll
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: be okay.
- 1:53:23Speaker 4: It depends on the maturation of Drake May.
- 1:53:26Speaker 5: Sure, I would just ad no. I know, I think
- 1:53:29Speaker 5: they asked a lot out of him last year. I
- 1:53:31Speaker 5: don't think that this is a great receiving corps, and
- 1:53:33Speaker 5: I think he made them look better than they were
- 1:53:36Speaker 5: at times, and I think the offense for the most part,
- 1:53:39Speaker 5: was successful. Now you can come back at me with
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: the argument of it's going to be much more difficult
- 1:53:43Speaker 5: this year, given the expectations, the schedule, the you know,
- 1:53:48Speaker 5: all the things that go into it, and I wouldn't
- 1:53:50Speaker 5: be able to argue with you. But I don't think
- 1:53:52Speaker 5: it would be a disaster if you just said, well,
- 1:53:55Speaker 5: Diggs was, you know, getting a little older, and we've
- 1:53:57Speaker 5: replaced him with a younger guy, and even if we
- 1:54:00Speaker 5: don't get quite the production that we got from Digs
- 1:54:02Speaker 5: last year, it'll be close enough. It's not that bad.
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: I ask you questions. That's does Kyle Williams.
- 1:54:07Speaker 5: Look No, I'm just saying the same.
- 1:54:10Speaker 4: I'm not I'm not If he's the same then Okay, I'm.
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: Just saying you have the same chorus last year and
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: then Dobbs for digs.
- 1:54:18Speaker 6: My fear is that that feels very twenty twenty two
- 1:54:22Speaker 6: E to me, where Parker it was it was maybe
- 1:54:26Speaker 6: it's twenty three where it's Meyers out Juju in and
- 1:54:29Speaker 6: then that was like kind of all they did.
- 1:54:31Speaker 4: I like that movie.
- 1:54:32Speaker 5: And and I'm not saying like that's obviously that was
- 1:54:35Speaker 5: a disaster, like this ends up if place like Juju.
- 1:54:39Speaker 6: I'm not saying with you, I'm not saying that. All
- 1:54:41Speaker 6: I'm saying is that you had this window of opportunity
- 1:54:45Speaker 6: with a quarterback that wasn't as good as Drake may
- 1:54:49Speaker 6: by any means, but at least showed some signs of
- 1:54:51Speaker 6: life in his rookie season, and then you just didn't
- 1:54:54Speaker 6: keep the gap, your foot on the gas pedal, and
- 1:54:56Speaker 6: you didn't keep adding significant moves to the roster. I like,
- 1:55:00Speaker 6: if they went into the season with the way it
- 1:55:02Speaker 6: is right now, they kind of kept its status quo
- 1:55:04Speaker 6: for the most part on offense, and like, that's not
- 1:55:07Speaker 6: you're not accelerating my theory.
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: In order for my theory to be remotely accurate, I
- 1:55:13Speaker 5: would need a much closer approximation for Dobbs to Digs
- 1:55:16Speaker 5: than you got from Juju to Jacoby Minh.
- 1:55:19Speaker 6: Yeah, and I don't expect that to happen, and it
- 1:55:21Speaker 6: will be significantly better, I'm sure with Romeo Dobbs, much
- 1:55:25Speaker 6: younger player, like much no injury concerns like Juju had.
- 1:55:29Speaker 6: But it just felt the same where in twenty two
- 1:55:32Speaker 6: and twenty three, like they didn't really take a step
- 1:55:35Speaker 6: forward around back Jones and they didn't really load up
- 1:55:38Speaker 6: for him and absolutely go all in for him, And
- 1:55:40Speaker 6: it's kind of the.
- 1:55:41Speaker 2: Same the great camp. And it also just to me,
- 1:55:43Speaker 2: like Williams is the only guy I feel like has
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: a large level of unknown left if any you know,
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: the rest of them, you kind of know what Hollins is,
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: You kind of know what Davis is or Douglas excuse me,
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: you know even Booty too, but you know Ath loves Booty.
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: We're hoping, But I think Williams is the only one
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: right now to me that really has an unknown ceiling,
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: and he might already be at it. I don't know.
- 1:56:04Speaker 4: All right, that's going to be it for this edition
- 1:56:06Speaker 4: of Patriots Unfiltered, but we've got more to come. This week.
- 1:56:11Speaker 4: We've got Catch twenty two tomorrow at ten noon, the
- 1:56:15Speaker 4: weekly Barth wellness check. How's he doing?
- 1:56:18Speaker 5: I don't want to repeat the time and the show.
- 1:56:20Speaker 4: What's at noon?
- 1:56:21Speaker 6: Okay? Why it's always at show?
- 1:56:24Speaker 4: Okay?
- 1:56:25Speaker 5: Usually he does it at ten because we do it.
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: Do it at noon? All right, we'll do it at noon.
- 1:56:29Speaker 2: Patriots Draft Countdown, we'll do our first episode will be
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: out tomorrow, Draft Countdown come tomorrow, coming tomorrow.
- 1:56:36Speaker 4: And Forged in Foxborough coming later today, so can't wait
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: for that. We will be back on Thursday. We'll talk
- 1:56:44Speaker 4: to you then.
