- 3:38Speaker 1: And as you know, the algorithm is a monster and
- 3:42Speaker 1: we're constantly trying to fight the algorithm, and online engagement
- 3:45Speaker 1: goes a long way. The algorithm is another micromanager, the
- 3:49Speaker 1: patriarchy from phobic. It's the worst. And you know what,
- 3:53Speaker 1: it's incredible to me that math continues to plague our
- 3:57Speaker 1: lives and ruin our lives. I barely pass college calculus.
- 4:01Speaker 1: That was like the one thing standing between me and
- 4:03Speaker 1: my diploma and the fact that there are algorithms continuing
- 4:07Speaker 1: to terrorize us. I haven't taken a mouth colas since
- 4:09Speaker 1: my senior year of high school, like I literally didn't
- 4:12Speaker 1: have to take one in college, and to my own
- 4:14Speaker 1: detrimies to be honest, because I don't know anything, like,
- 4:18Speaker 1: do not ask me how to sum up something. That's
- 4:23Speaker 1: what calculators are for, exactly from tech. Yes, some tech.
- 4:27Speaker 1: So any who love us out loud um and if not,
- 4:29Speaker 1: if you got a little extra cash, hit the venmo
- 4:31Speaker 1: at look at Thought a dash radio. Yes. So now
- 4:34Speaker 1: we have some new events that we want to announce
- 4:38Speaker 1: and share with y'all. We are adding new events to
- 4:41Speaker 1: our slate of podcast offering this summer, and we want
- 4:44Speaker 1: all of our local motives to come out and have
- 4:46Speaker 1: some fun with us. If you've ever been to one
- 4:48Speaker 1: of our parties, if you've been to look I Thought
- 4:50Speaker 1: a Live a podcast party, then you already know last
- 4:53Speaker 1: Mommy's a myth, them bullshit know how to throw down,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and we know how to have a good as time,
- 4:57Speaker 1: and we want you to come out and how it
- 4:59Speaker 1: up with us summer. Yes, so our first installment, one
- 5:04Speaker 1: of our first events that we're hosting is called Local
- 5:07Speaker 1: after Dark, a sex and wellness series by Look at
- 5:10Speaker 1: Our Radio. This weekend is actually the launch of our
- 5:13Speaker 1: new event series, look at after Dark. The topic for
- 5:16Speaker 1: this time around is consent, pleasure and play. So we
- 5:20Speaker 1: um had a lot of fun at our first installment
- 5:22Speaker 1: of Look after Dark. We were joined by Ebony Williams,
- 5:26Speaker 1: who was a trauma therapist from Piece of Our Violence
- 5:28Speaker 1: to talk about all the sexy things to talk about consent,
- 5:31Speaker 1: pleasure and play. We handed out ho kits, we did
- 5:34Speaker 1: a d I Y demonstration on making your own dental dams,
- 5:37Speaker 1: and we have a few sponsors that we want to
- 5:39Speaker 1: thank for helping to make the night really fun and incredible. Yeah,
- 5:43Speaker 1: so special. Thanks to our sponsors that donated products for
- 5:46Speaker 1: the nights such as Sparkling Wine by Babe, Small Bites
- 5:50Speaker 1: by Lags, which is a Mexican owned restaurant here in
- 5:54Speaker 1: Los Angeles that specializes in Wahak and cuisine, one of
- 5:58Speaker 1: the best restaurants in l A. Absolutely UM and the
- 6:01Speaker 1: co owners now are actually Budsia and Balina of Super Mamas.
- 6:05Speaker 1: The o g Borras. So we're super excited that they
- 6:09Speaker 1: sponsored our events. Shout out to shout out to them.
- 6:11Speaker 1: In addition, um the Ho Kid products but donated by
- 6:15Speaker 1: gentle Care Dental and Bruhia Skincare. Absolutely um handing out
- 6:21Speaker 1: how Kids is a lot of fun. I feel like
- 6:22Speaker 1: this is our like giving back to the community. Yes,
- 6:25Speaker 1: don't say we have never given back. We give back.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Here's a ho Kid and you get a home kid,
- 6:30Speaker 1: and you get a home kid. Yeah. When we were
- 6:31Speaker 1: assembling that, Mama was like, we're like Oprah, We're like Copra,
- 6:36Speaker 1: We're hoprap love it. So, um, look out for future
- 6:41Speaker 1: lookout after dark event announcements, because this is a series,
- 6:44Speaker 1: We're gonna be doing more with different topics each time.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Come through. Yes, alrighty, so are the next event series
- 6:52Speaker 1: called Mommy's and mimosas a radio brunch series. So excited.
- 6:57Speaker 1: You know we love to brunch and you know we
- 6:59Speaker 1: love to overname things. Yes we do, you know. So
- 7:05Speaker 1: so like we we will overname our children, we will
- 7:08Speaker 1: overname our names. Right all right, So we will be
- 7:12Speaker 1: launching our very first brunch. It's going to be such
- 7:15Speaker 1: a cute as time. We love to brunch, we love mimosas,
- 7:18Speaker 1: and we love to shake our asses good feminists. Hose
- 7:22Speaker 1: that we are yes is politic. So uh, we haven't
- 7:28Speaker 1: put out the flyers yet, but we want to give
- 7:29Speaker 1: you all a jump and a sneak peek to save
- 7:32Speaker 1: the date, to save the dates. So we're going to
- 7:34Speaker 1: be having the launch of our Mommy's and Mimosas series
- 7:37Speaker 1: July from eleven am to three pm at El SID
- 7:40Speaker 1: on Sunset, So keep an eye out for flyer and
- 7:43Speaker 1: ticket information coming soon. Yeah. And you know, ELSID holds
- 7:47Speaker 1: a really special place in our hearts because Mama has
- 7:52Speaker 1: like some familial familiar familial history with ELFID. Yeah. So um,
- 7:59Speaker 1: you know, as we like to share with everyone, we
- 8:02Speaker 1: are Los Angeles Royalty. We have been here, we've been
- 8:06Speaker 1: here um and contributing to arts and culture and all
- 8:09Speaker 1: this stuff in this city that we love. So my
- 8:12Speaker 1: mother Um is a professional dancer and she does all
- 8:16Speaker 1: different styles of dance um, folklorico, danasta, but her passion
- 8:20Speaker 1: is flamenco um. So she actually has been performing as
- 8:24Speaker 1: a professional flamenco dancer UM with Antilita, who is like
- 8:28Speaker 1: the director of their dance group at El sid and
- 8:31Speaker 1: my mom has been dancing at El sid for like
- 8:33Speaker 1: since before I was borned so for like over thirty years.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Her pictures are on the walls. I grew up at
- 8:38Speaker 1: El sid um in the dressing room, backstage in the restaurant,
- 8:42Speaker 1: So it's really cool for us to reconnect with that
- 8:44Speaker 1: venue and to now host our own events there. So
- 8:47Speaker 1: this is like second generation um at Alcid. So we
- 8:50Speaker 1: hope to see you all there. We're gonna put out
- 8:52Speaker 1: flyers and ticket information soon. Yes, can you save the day?
- 8:56Speaker 1: Get your outfits red? D oh? Yeah, a brunch look
- 9:00Speaker 1: is really essential, honestly. Alright, So we have a really
- 9:04Speaker 1: special treat for our locomotives today. We are actually joined
- 9:08Speaker 1: by Priscilla of La Junta l A are one of
- 9:11Speaker 1: our favorite party collectives, and she is joining us today
- 9:14Speaker 1: along with Melissa and Danny of Alotro Lado, a nonprofit
- 9:18Speaker 1: organization providing direct legal services to migrants, separated families and
- 9:23Speaker 1: asylum seekers. The nonprofit is based in Los Angeles and
- 9:26Speaker 1: t J. And today, um, these lovely ladies are going
- 9:29Speaker 1: to talk to us about a really exciting event that's
- 9:31Speaker 1: coming up called Those lavos produced by La Junta l A. So,
- 9:36Speaker 1: my dear friends, can you please tell us a little
- 9:38Speaker 1: bit about the project, who you are, where you're coming from,
- 9:41Speaker 1: and what we can expect from those lavels. So this
- 9:43Speaker 1: is Priscilla. Hello, Um, I'm part of La Junta. We
- 9:47Speaker 1: are a collective of four friends who produce Afro Latin
- 9:50Speaker 1: music events throughout Los Angeles and UM, so I'm gonna
- 9:56Speaker 1: go ahead and let Melissa and Danny introduce themselves and
- 9:58Speaker 1: then we'll talk a little bit a little bit about
- 10:00Speaker 1: the benefit. The benefit. Hey everyone, this is Danny Lado
- 10:06Speaker 1: and so we're really excited to be here today to
- 10:08Speaker 1: really share about it those lados. Um. It's going to
- 10:11Speaker 1: be a really amazing event and a concert. There's a
- 10:15Speaker 1: collective of beautiful artists that are coming together as well
- 10:18Speaker 1: for an exhibition as well, and so we're really excited
- 10:20Speaker 1: to share some more about our work, about why this
- 10:23Speaker 1: moment is so important and what we're here to do
- 10:24Speaker 1: about it. Hi. Everyone, this is Melissa Um with Altro Lado.
- 10:30Speaker 1: So really the vision for this event is really what
- 10:35Speaker 1: can happen when we as a community come together, UM
- 10:40Speaker 1: in a joyful way that includes things that bring us joy, food, drink, music,
- 10:45Speaker 1: and art and dance and the healing that really comes
- 10:49Speaker 1: with all of that. And when we come together that
- 10:51Speaker 1: lavos which translates from all sides, we we can really
- 10:56Speaker 1: create change. And I think we all think now more
- 11:00Speaker 1: than ever, UM, there's so much healing that's needed, and
- 11:03Speaker 1: we do forget to celebrate, uh, the power that lies
- 11:06Speaker 1: within us. And this event is really too rise up
- 11:11Speaker 1: in the name of art and culture and dance and
- 11:14Speaker 1: music to to really make a difference. All of the
- 11:17Speaker 1: proceeds I will be going back to our work. If
- 11:20Speaker 1: you're not familiar with our work, we are as the
- 11:23Speaker 1: also mentioned. We are a nonprofit based in l A.
- 11:26Speaker 1: We have an office in Tijuana and San Diego. UM.
- 11:30Speaker 1: In Tijuana, we work with thousands of asylum seekers UH
- 11:34Speaker 1: and refugees and migrants that are you know, being turned
- 11:36Speaker 1: away illegally being turned away at the border from requesting asylum.
- 11:40Speaker 1: We provide them with no your rights clinics, UM, we
- 11:43Speaker 1: give them free food, We have a play area for
- 11:46Speaker 1: their children. We also offer consultations based on their asylum
- 11:51Speaker 1: and take are based on their case. And uh, you know,
- 11:54Speaker 1: more than everyone need volunteers like the work there is
- 11:56Speaker 1: powered by incredible volunteers, um, you know that put in
- 12:00Speaker 1: their time. In San Diego, we focus on bonding folks
- 12:04Speaker 1: out immigrants that are being detained. Um. You know, we're
- 12:08Speaker 1: seeing more and more an assault on do process. Like
- 12:13Speaker 1: that's just not even going to mince words. There's a
- 12:16Speaker 1: real obliteration of that, and it's and it's and it's scary.
- 12:19Speaker 1: But we're you know, we do that in l A
- 12:21Speaker 1: and l A we also work with homeless undocumented migrants
- 12:25Speaker 1: as well as well as bonding folks out too. Um.
- 12:28Speaker 1: And that's just like a brief as brief as I
- 12:31Speaker 1: could be of the work that we do. So all
- 12:33Speaker 1: of the ticket sales and drink sales will be going
- 12:38Speaker 1: towards our work. So that's amazing. You know. I think
- 12:42Speaker 1: folks right now, with the current climate that we're in,
- 12:45Speaker 1: our feeling very helpless and are asking themselves what can
- 12:49Speaker 1: I do? And I think that this is a really
- 12:51Speaker 1: wonderful way for folks that are searching for resources and
- 12:55Speaker 1: where they can actually donate their money too if they
- 12:57Speaker 1: can donate time. UM. So this isn't a zing way too.
- 13:00Speaker 1: If you're based in l A. To be a part
- 13:02Speaker 1: of it. Now, I'm wondering for folks that are listeners
- 13:04Speaker 1: that aren't based in l A, any resources you can
- 13:07Speaker 1: offer them, how can they contribute in some way? Yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 1: this question has been coming up a lot and so
- 13:14Speaker 1: and we're really grateful for folks really trying to mobilize
- 13:17Speaker 1: in their community. And so one of the leading things
- 13:20Speaker 1: that I wanted, one of the one of the most
- 13:22Speaker 1: important things right now is to really figure out who's
- 13:24Speaker 1: doing the work in your community. UM Alto is really small,
- 13:27Speaker 1: where a team of like eighteen folks UM and we're
- 13:30Speaker 1: doing really heavy lifting on the ground as well. So
- 13:33Speaker 1: I think what's needed in this moment is to really
- 13:35Speaker 1: be creative. So if you're a writer, um, figure out
- 13:38Speaker 1: who's in your network and how you want to organize
- 13:40Speaker 1: around your creativity your music. Because we really need every
- 13:44Speaker 1: single person in this fight. Um there's no one them
- 13:47Speaker 1: like we need everyone in this and so I think
- 13:50Speaker 1: that's one of the first things that we have kind
- 13:52Speaker 1: of thought about. And so figure out who the nonprofits are.
- 13:55Speaker 1: First thing is like organizing your community. Figure out who
- 13:57Speaker 1: the folks are that you can organize with. Figure out
- 14:00Speaker 1: who's doing the work and how you are going to
- 14:02Speaker 1: get involved in that work. UM and UM A really
- 14:05Speaker 1: easy way for folks if they're not in l A
- 14:07Speaker 1: or A theiquana and if they're not able, if they're
- 14:09Speaker 1: not like able bodied is like to you know, use
- 14:12Speaker 1: um like media is a really big source of empowerment
- 14:15Speaker 1: for folks. So I think using your media as much
- 14:17Speaker 1: as you can. Yeah, that's one way. And oh yeah,
- 14:22Speaker 1: go ahead, go ahead. No, and just some of the
- 14:24Speaker 1: more obvious ones vote obviously, UM vote uh. If you
- 14:32Speaker 1: are able donate money or donate time. UM. There's also
- 14:37Speaker 1: really creative ways that you can do ap peer to
- 14:39Speaker 1: peer fundraising. For for example, Danny mentioned if you're a writer.
- 14:42Speaker 1: We have had so many incredible people sort of organize
- 14:46Speaker 1: their own fundraisers, fundraisers like they'll raffle off their services. Um. Uh.
- 14:53Speaker 1: There's a photographer who like, you know, if if you
- 14:56Speaker 1: send me a screenshot of donating twenty dollars, all give
- 15:00Speaker 1: you a five photography sessions. So there's just ways to
- 15:03Speaker 1: get creative if you don't have the money yourself to
- 15:05Speaker 1: fund raise UM. And if you can't donate money, because
- 15:09Speaker 1: we understand, you know, it's hard to make a living
- 15:12Speaker 1: out there these days, but you know also one person's
- 15:15Speaker 1: five dollars is another person's five hundred um or or
- 15:19Speaker 1: see what organizations are in your community that you can
- 15:22Speaker 1: volunteer your time for. So um. Also, I just want
- 15:26Speaker 1: to say like, and we're always very aware of the
- 15:28Speaker 1: fact that not um like folks are incarcerated, for instance,
- 15:31Speaker 1: camp votes. So we just want to mention that nuance
- 15:35Speaker 1: that that's not a privilege that a lot of folks
- 15:37Speaker 1: have right. Absolutely, yes, UM, a lot of this is
- 15:42Speaker 1: we understand that a lot of these actions do come
- 15:44Speaker 1: from a place of privilege. So we do acknowledge that
- 15:46Speaker 1: as well. I also call your congress representatives that that's huge.
- 15:52Speaker 1: It makes a difference flood their phone lines. Um, you
- 15:54Speaker 1: can easily find out who your Congress rep is a
- 15:57Speaker 1: quick search online. Will be posting something soon kind of
- 16:00Speaker 1: detailing all of all of those things. Wonderful. So if
- 16:04Speaker 1: people want to know more about the event that all
- 16:07Speaker 1: those lados uh tickets where, when? How? What do the
- 16:11Speaker 1: folks need to know? We created a website that all
- 16:14Speaker 1: those lados l a dot com. You can get all
- 16:17Speaker 1: the information from there. You can see who allot lado is.
- 16:21Speaker 1: You can also have there's also links to la Junta
- 16:24Speaker 1: l a UM any three of those UM links or
- 16:28Speaker 1: places the website, UM, Instagram, Facebook, We're everywhere right now. Amazing.
- 16:34Speaker 1: So before we go, I wanted to ask about the event.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Who are the headliners, who's going to be there, who
- 16:40Speaker 1: are the vendors? What is what is the event? Tell us? Okay,
- 16:44Speaker 1: So the event is, like UM said Melissa and Danny,
- 16:48Speaker 1: it's a benefit. And one way that you can help
- 16:51Speaker 1: is buy a ticket. This ticket will like I will
- 16:56Speaker 1: go to allot Lado and I'm gonna just run off
- 17:00Speaker 1: a few of our headliners. We do have Billy Monthia.
- 17:04Speaker 1: She's an Emmy Award winning TV host that's going to
- 17:07Speaker 1: host the evening. So we're really excited about having her
- 17:11Speaker 1: very cool study star study really and actually we're bringing
- 17:17Speaker 1: Norteic Collective the Tijuana. We're bringing Selenamos Yes locals, which
- 17:27Speaker 1: is huge, so they're loved by so many people. All
- 17:32Speaker 1: these talents are actually loved by a lot of Los
- 17:34Speaker 1: Angeles Angelino. Yeah. Um, we have Martha Gonzalez that get
- 17:40Speaker 1: oh my god. There You've had some heavyweight and then
- 17:44Speaker 1: we also have some really big DJ collectives out there.
- 17:47Speaker 1: We have some swellow l as gonna be there, Sizzle,
- 17:54Speaker 1: we have Chulita Mino Club, we have Girls Gone Vinyl.
- 17:58Speaker 1: A lot of fans out there are going to be
- 17:59Speaker 1: helping this out, which is great, love it. Yeah. Then
- 18:02Speaker 1: we have some artists. We have over I want to
- 18:04Speaker 1: say teven um artists from all over the world that
- 18:08Speaker 1: are bringing UM a piece or two of their art.
- 18:12Speaker 1: And I will go ahead and let Danny Um kind
- 18:15Speaker 1: of tell you who those artists are. Sure, So, I'm
- 18:18Speaker 1: really excited about the art exhibition. It is part of
- 18:21Speaker 1: those latos as a concert, but the art exhibition will
- 18:24Speaker 1: actually be be open for a month after UM and
- 18:27Speaker 1: so the artists are artists from our communities but also
- 18:31Speaker 1: from Afar and the art is actually created by one
- 18:34Speaker 1: of my favorite artists, which is a m Rani no
- 18:37Speaker 1: Diega and so UM. Some of the artists that will
- 18:39Speaker 1: be there is uh Alicia Mahone Brooks Um who's actually
- 18:43Speaker 1: bringing their art from Hawaii UM and is of Hawaii
- 18:47Speaker 1: based organizer activists UM and a mother and so UM.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Alicia is one of my favorite artists by far, and
- 18:53Speaker 1: we're gonna support Alicia's work getting here from Hawaii. UM.
- 18:57Speaker 1: We also have actually the Kachevski, so I'm I'm not
- 19:00Speaker 1: sure if you are familiar with that, but actually has
- 19:02Speaker 1: done a phenomenal work nationally around abortion rate access as well,
- 19:07Speaker 1: and there's a lot of the work for planned parenthood.
- 19:10Speaker 1: So we also have no who is a Yacki artist,
- 19:16Speaker 1: and then we haven't many any more, including including Mary
- 19:20Speaker 1: Young as well, who's one of my personal favorites. So
- 19:22Speaker 1: we're really it's going to be an amazing line. That's amazing,
- 19:25Speaker 1: very nice. So um, just to wrap up, can you
- 19:28Speaker 1: remind our listeners what day is that all those lavels
- 19:31Speaker 1: taking place and where is it going to be going down? Okay,
- 19:35Speaker 1: that's actually the most important part, all right, So this
- 19:39Speaker 1: will be Friday July nine this year, of course, July
- 19:43Speaker 1: nine nine, from eight pm to one am at Plaza
- 19:46Speaker 1: de la Rasa here in Lincoln Heights, UM. The address
- 19:49Speaker 1: is three five four zero North Mission Road, and to
- 19:53Speaker 1: find all these details you can easily go to the
- 19:56Speaker 1: lads l A dot com. Fabulous you so much once again,
- 20:01Speaker 1: Priscilla la Junta La and our new friends from that
- 20:04Speaker 1: all those lavels, So thank you for so much for
- 20:07Speaker 1: being here. Thank you, thank yeah, and we will see
- 20:10Speaker 1: you on July nine, Team Ye God Party Yeah or Castras,
- 20:19Speaker 1: Belly Ros and and and and and and and and
- 20:29Speaker 1: and and and and and rock and rock and and
- 20:44Speaker 1: and and um um um um um um um of
- 21:00Speaker 1: it and alrighty. So, as we mentioned, we are in
- 21:06Speaker 1: our multidimensional whole quarter, so we wanted to give you
- 21:10Speaker 1: a little preview of our conversation that we had at
- 21:12Speaker 1: Look A Thought after Dark. Yeah, for those of you
- 21:14Speaker 1: who couldn't make it, who couldn't be there. The topic
- 21:17Speaker 1: for this first installment of Look I Thought after Dark
- 21:19Speaker 1: was consent, pleasure and play, our favorite things to talk about,
- 21:23Speaker 1: our favorite things to talk about. Yes, you know, I
- 21:26Speaker 1: was thinking about this topic, and I was thinking about
- 21:28Speaker 1: how you know, I don't necessarily although like I have
- 21:31Speaker 1: a hoe as politic practice, it's not necessarily I'm out
- 21:37Speaker 1: and about howen because I'm in a monogamous relationship. But
- 21:40Speaker 1: I've been thinking about what does you know, consent, pleasure
- 21:45Speaker 1: and play look like when you're when you have the
- 21:47Speaker 1: same partner, right, you have the same romantic partner, you know,
- 21:50Speaker 1: And I think it's just as important to talk about
- 21:53Speaker 1: consent even when you are in a relationship because there's
- 21:56Speaker 1: this idea that well, you know, you've been with this
- 21:59Speaker 1: person and so maybe like consent isn't necessarily a topic
- 22:04Speaker 1: that you need to talk about anymore because you've been
- 22:06Speaker 1: with them. But that is false exactly, you know, because
- 22:11Speaker 1: as we know, like just because something in a sexual
- 22:15Speaker 1: relationship has happened once doesn't mean it can happen again.
- 22:19Speaker 1: You have every right to say no, I don't want
- 22:21Speaker 1: to do this again. That didn't feel right for me.
- 22:24Speaker 1: I want to do it this way, I want to
- 22:25Speaker 1: do it that way. Is that okay? How does that
- 22:28Speaker 1: feel for you? You know? So I think you know,
- 22:31Speaker 1: consent is definitely an ongoing conversation. It doesn't stop just
- 22:34Speaker 1: because you're in a relationship. So I think about I've
- 22:37Speaker 1: been thinking about that since we've been talking about this
- 22:40Speaker 1: topic of consent, pleasure and play. Yeah, it's really important
- 22:43Speaker 1: because I think what happens sometimes when you get really
- 22:45Speaker 1: comfortable with your partner, especially like sexually and romantically, it's
- 22:48Speaker 1: sort of like, oh, well, we have all access to
- 22:50Speaker 1: each other, you know, to each other's lives and phones
- 22:54Speaker 1: and social circles, and then bodies get lumped in there
- 22:58Speaker 1: when it should kind of be the opposite that as
- 23:01Speaker 1: you get to know someone better. It's like your practice
- 23:04Speaker 1: and your consent, you know, like you get into a
- 23:07Speaker 1: rhythm where you remember that the person that you're with
- 23:11Speaker 1: is an autonomous human being, as opposed to if you're
- 23:13Speaker 1: just meeting someone or they're a stranger. You know, you're
- 23:16Speaker 1: you're building that rapport. But in a relationship, it's almost like, no,
- 23:20Speaker 1: we need to be practiced at this. This is something
- 23:22Speaker 1: we do really well now, yes, and something that we
- 23:24Speaker 1: do always right that we it's not just like a
- 23:27Speaker 1: once in a while, like we're going to continue to
- 23:29Speaker 1: chick in with each other and our bodies and what
- 23:32Speaker 1: we like and what we don't like. Yeah, absolutely that.
- 23:35Speaker 1: So the consent piece is just always ongoing. I've been
- 23:38Speaker 1: teaching UM summer school, and I've been teaching like middle schoolers,
- 23:43Speaker 1: boys and girls, and in having conversations about consent, it's
- 23:47Speaker 1: really interesting because a lot of teachers don't want to
- 23:49Speaker 1: go there, don't want to touch on the subject. And
- 23:53Speaker 1: it's really interesting because especially if you are talking about
- 23:57Speaker 1: kids that are enrolled at a public school, there are
- 24:02Speaker 1: like certain sorts of restrictions on what you can talk
- 24:05Speaker 1: about in class without like permission slips from parents, which
- 24:08Speaker 1: is good because that's a type of consent to write,
- 24:10Speaker 1: having the familial and parental consent, to talk talk about
- 24:13Speaker 1: consent with the kids, to talk about these things with
- 24:15Speaker 1: the kids. Um. However, it gets so frustrating when the
- 24:19Speaker 1: consent topic is always considered an approached and looked at
- 24:24Speaker 1: as being a sexual one when it comes to kids
- 24:27Speaker 1: and youth, I think we have to talk about consent
- 24:30Speaker 1: as a fact of life, as a fact of interacting
- 24:32Speaker 1: with one another, how to be a good friend, how
- 24:35Speaker 1: to interact with other people. Like the consent talk should
- 24:38Speaker 1: start out by well, you know, we don't touch other
- 24:41Speaker 1: people's hair without permission. We don't borrow other people's things
- 24:44Speaker 1: without permission. We don't hug other people unless you know
- 24:48Speaker 1: they've told us that they would like to be hugged,
- 24:50Speaker 1: or we've asked. And I think that I've even me
- 24:53Speaker 1: just reframing how I think about consent as a fact
- 24:56Speaker 1: of human interaction and almost taking the the like sexual
- 25:02Speaker 1: burden off of the word in some ways. Right, we
- 25:05Speaker 1: build up to the sexual stuff, right, but we start
- 25:08Speaker 1: which is very basic, how do we treat each other?
- 25:13Speaker 1: I think that's something that adults need. Yeah, because you're right, Yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 1: we we do when we think about or when we
- 25:20Speaker 1: take the topic of consent, we very much talk about
- 25:24Speaker 1: it in sexual relationships or as a preventative way, um,
- 25:27Speaker 1: when talking about sexual violence. But it really is a
- 25:31Speaker 1: part of our everyday life. Um. And even you know
- 25:34Speaker 1: we've talked about this, we can talk about this like
- 25:36Speaker 1: for the rest of the podcast, you know, like for
- 25:39Speaker 1: eternity that like consent isn't taught in our families, right,
- 25:42Speaker 1: and we see that with our like greetings, you know,
- 25:45Speaker 1: our interactions with our families, where like young kids in
- 25:47Speaker 1: our Latino families are forced to say hello and give
- 25:51Speaker 1: hugs and kisses to everyone, right, even though they don't
- 25:53Speaker 1: necessarily want to write. So you know, we've talked about that,
- 25:56Speaker 1: and like that will continue to be a topic because
- 25:58Speaker 1: it's important and it's I think it's an example that
- 26:01Speaker 1: we still see, so we will continue to talk about that,
- 26:04Speaker 1: is what I'm getting at. So um, yeah, I mean
- 26:07Speaker 1: I think if we taught consent through this lens right
- 26:11Speaker 1: at a young age, I think we would see, for example,
- 26:13Speaker 1: a dramatic drop and decrease in street harassment because there
- 26:17Speaker 1: would be an understanding on behalf of men visa VI
- 26:20Speaker 1: education and practice that you can't just shout out like
- 26:25Speaker 1: sexually explicit things and and follow women around because that
- 26:30Speaker 1: is a basic like tenant of a non consensual like interaction.
- 26:35Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, when I was walking to get us
- 26:37Speaker 1: coffee today, I like made it like a little Instagram
- 26:40Speaker 1: video and I was like, all right, y'all, Like summer
- 26:43Speaker 1: outfits have been activated, which also means the street harassment
- 26:47Speaker 1: is on another level. Absolutely, that's some real ship, you know.
- 26:51Speaker 1: So that's just yeah, that's I don't know, that's something
- 26:55Speaker 1: that I think we end up talking about every summer
- 26:58Speaker 1: because buys out guys out essentially essentially like showing a
- 27:03Speaker 1: little extra skin. It just and then it gets it's hot,
- 27:06Speaker 1: and the heat makes people wild, I don't know, and
- 27:09Speaker 1: it's just this perfect storm and that the street harassment
- 27:12Speaker 1: just is through the roof. People don't have air conditioning
- 27:14Speaker 1: in their houses. They're outside, and it just also makes
- 27:17Speaker 1: me extra cranky because you're hot, and then the last
- 27:19Speaker 1: thing I want is you shouting at me exactly. I'm
- 27:22Speaker 1: just like, leave me alone. I'm trying to get cool here,
- 27:24Speaker 1: Like stop it. I'm trying to get cool. I'm trying
- 27:27Speaker 1: to get to my destination. I'm cranky, my thighs are
- 27:30Speaker 1: rubbing together, the U The chafing is real, the ching
- 27:34Speaker 1: is real. This is not comfortable, like leave me aloud,
- 27:37Speaker 1: right exactly. But yeah, so that's so the consent piece,
- 27:40Speaker 1: you know, is something that we always like to talk about.
- 27:43Speaker 1: And then I think there's also a conversation to be
- 27:46Speaker 1: had about like consensual interactions. Also on the internet and online.
- 27:50Speaker 1: We spend so much of our time online. Um, we
- 27:53Speaker 1: post our thirst traps, we talk our hole ship, we
- 27:57Speaker 1: have a good time, and I think that sometime it's
- 28:01Speaker 1: almost as if that that behavior is giving folks permission
- 28:05Speaker 1: to engage with you in that way when they don't
- 28:07Speaker 1: actually know you, do not know you, you know, like
- 28:10Speaker 1: the d ms that I get sometimes, you know, from
- 28:13Speaker 1: like men that are followers but I don't know who
- 28:15Speaker 1: they are and I've never met them, or are married
- 28:17Speaker 1: or are married. Let's talk about that. The married men
- 28:20Speaker 1: in the d M. That's is some real ship, but
- 28:23Speaker 1: they stay in the d M. It's weird. I will
- 28:26Speaker 1: say that my d since I've been in a relationship,
- 28:29Speaker 1: my d ms have been dry, which is a good thing,
- 28:31Speaker 1: you know. I don't need like random men in my
- 28:33Speaker 1: d ms, cluttering the inbox, fluttering the inbox. Um, but
- 28:37Speaker 1: you know there there are like a few that still
- 28:39Speaker 1: will come through, and I'm just like, what are you doing?
- 28:41Speaker 1: Like you don't know me, Like do you think that
- 28:43Speaker 1: I'm actually going to respond to you? It just doesn't
- 28:46Speaker 1: make any sense to me. Yeah, it's some weird ship.
- 28:49Speaker 1: I actually blocked a married man the other day good
- 28:51Speaker 1: because it was just too much. Good. There's just too much.
- 28:54Speaker 1: And it's the one where I found her Facebook. Yeah, Okay,
- 28:57Speaker 1: so this is a person who actually has been following
- 28:59Speaker 1: me line for years and just very like replies to
- 29:05Speaker 1: all the tweets, replies to the I G stories in
- 29:08Speaker 1: the d ms, blah blah blah blah blah. And these
- 29:12Speaker 1: people exist, right, and it gets to be too much
- 29:14Speaker 1: after a while. And then I'm like, okay, you have
- 29:17Speaker 1: gotten way too comfortable just constantly reaching out to me
- 29:20Speaker 1: and like commenting on my body and things like that
- 29:23Speaker 1: and just really going in on like the way that
- 29:26Speaker 1: I look. And then the Aside looked up this person
- 29:28Speaker 1: and found this person's wife their their Facebook, and she's
- 29:31Speaker 1: super cute and like, you know, has no idea that
- 29:34Speaker 1: her husband is being affecking dig Yeah, I'm like, MoMA
- 29:36Speaker 1: should be message her or what. But she's out of state.
- 29:39Speaker 1: So it's like, why are we going to reac havoc
- 29:41Speaker 1: on this woman's life because nothing has happened obviously, but
- 29:44Speaker 1: like still it's mad, disrespectful. I got energy to your wife. Hello,
- 29:49Speaker 1: So all I can do is block. So I hit
- 29:51Speaker 1: the block because I'm like, I'm over this. Enough is enough.
- 29:54Speaker 1: And I've done that multiple times with either married men
- 29:57Speaker 1: or partnered men. I oh, it's some bullshit. Just know,
- 30:02Speaker 1: if you're a man listening and you're in Mala's d
- 30:04Speaker 1: m S, I know about it, and I judge you,
- 30:07Speaker 1: and I know that you have a girlfriend or a
- 30:09Speaker 1: wife and we've probably found her social media, and just
- 30:12Speaker 1: know that I can contentually contact her. So leave mama alone.
- 30:17Speaker 1: If you're coupled up, just no, just now. If you're not,
- 30:20Speaker 1: If you're single, if you're single, go ahead, go ahead,
- 30:22Speaker 1: go ahead, but enter respectfully. Come correct, Come correct, Come correct.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I did post the other day, um mom, Mom can't
- 30:30Speaker 1: get any dates because everyone's afraid of her. Okay, let's
- 30:33Speaker 1: talk about let's talk about that for consent, all right,
- 30:35Speaker 1: let's talk about that for consent, So, um, how can
- 30:38Speaker 1: we have pleasure in play if you're afraid of me? Exactly?
- 30:41Speaker 1: Doesn't think this? How? So I posted to my story
- 30:44Speaker 1: I was like, oh, you know, I think that maybe
- 30:47Speaker 1: I might be thinking about potentially one day. So let's
- 30:54Speaker 1: say it's a future thoughts. It's a hypothetic goal that
- 30:58Speaker 1: I maybe possibly might be in the future ready open
- 31:02Speaker 1: to thinking about dating. Yes, you know, so that's where
- 31:05Speaker 1: I'm at. So I kind of posted something like that, like,
- 31:07Speaker 1: you know, serious inquiries only like I might be down
- 31:10Speaker 1: for a boot, right, I have a prediction that I
- 31:12Speaker 1: might have a boo. I see it right, nothing really
- 31:17Speaker 1: seriously in the works right now, but I just have
- 31:19Speaker 1: an inkling. I ha, I see the prospects. The prospects
- 31:22Speaker 1: are there. I'm ready to go on double dates, planting
- 31:26Speaker 1: the seeds. Yes, I want to go wine tasting. I
- 31:29Speaker 1: want to go horseback writing. So I don't know, I'll
- 31:33Speaker 1: take pictures for you, thank you. So anyways, I posted
- 31:37Speaker 1: this about, you know, ready for a boo, and then
- 31:40Speaker 1: I got a couple different d m s, again from
- 31:42Speaker 1: random and that I don't know, but that followed me,
- 31:44Speaker 1: and one of them was like, you know, like no, disrespect.
- 31:48Speaker 1: I think you're great. I really no disrespect, Like I
- 31:50Speaker 1: think you're awesome, he says, But I imagine that dating
- 31:54Speaker 1: you is something like dating a black widow spider, which yes,
- 31:57Speaker 1: which is true, that's accurate. So then I will like,
- 32:00Speaker 1: oh my god, like I need a rebrand. Mala needs
- 32:04Speaker 1: a rebrand. What would Mala, like two point oh rebranded
- 32:08Speaker 1: be so that the men are not afraid of you?
- 32:09Speaker 1: You wouldn't be Mala. Then like, that's why, that's why
- 32:13Speaker 1: your mama. So there was that one, and then there
- 32:15Speaker 1: was another one, and he said something similar about being like,
- 32:20Speaker 1: you know, afraid to like go there good, you know,
- 32:24Speaker 1: And I'm like, bro, okay, fine then, because only a
- 32:27Speaker 1: real one is going to step backly. Only a real
- 32:29Speaker 1: one will not be afraid. Only a real one will
- 32:31Speaker 1: not be afraid. But can Matt. Many have tried, Many
- 32:34Speaker 1: have failed, Many have failed, Many have failed honestly, honestly,
- 32:40Speaker 1: So if you think you're the one, you're probably not.
- 32:42Speaker 1: You're probably not throwing that out there, thank you. Also,
- 32:50Speaker 1: let me just say that when you date like, I'm
- 32:52Speaker 1: going to have a hard time sharing my time share you.
- 32:56Speaker 1: It's true. And because once I'm in a relationship. I'm
- 32:59Speaker 1: real wrapped up in it. Mama is no, but that
- 33:01Speaker 1: was different because that was an unhealthy relationship. Was obsession. Yeah,
- 33:06Speaker 1: that was look at exactly. No, but I'm like, um
- 33:14Speaker 1: excited for when that does happen, because you've been through
- 33:17Speaker 1: a lot and the men are have been awful, and
- 33:21Speaker 1: you know, I know that the right one will come
- 33:23Speaker 1: along and it'll be amazing, and they just need to
- 33:26Speaker 1: know that. There's also exactly so you can be jealous.
- 33:31Speaker 1: You will share my heart, yes, and my body quite
- 33:34Speaker 1: quite literally. It was so funny. I was telling MoMA,
- 33:37Speaker 1: was like, oh, yeah, we're going here. She was like,
- 33:38Speaker 1: we are, and I was like, no, the other we
- 33:40Speaker 1: the other way. Yeah, there has to be a distinction,
- 33:43Speaker 1: you know. It's like no, no, me and my bow,
- 33:45Speaker 1: but also my bow over here, Mama, Yes, um, we everything,
- 33:50Speaker 1: we everything. So yeah, that's cute. That's fun just throwing
- 33:54Speaker 1: that out there. It'll happen. It happen. I'm not pressed.
- 33:58Speaker 1: No chilling, No, Oh, you're in your Saturn return. Also yes,
- 34:02Speaker 1: which Gabby Rivere and I were talking about with Mala,
- 34:05Speaker 1: because Mama didn't know malas like very um knows minimal
- 34:09Speaker 1: about the astrology, zodiac placements and all of that. So
- 34:13Speaker 1: we were talking to her about her Saturn return. Did
- 34:15Speaker 1: we talk about that sitting down with Gabby? I don't
- 34:17Speaker 1: think we did. Gabby was in town, so that's fun fact.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Gabby Rivera was in town and we linked up. Yes.
- 34:24Speaker 1: She is a graphic novelist, comic writer. Yes, a writer,
- 34:30Speaker 1: a writer of comics and graphic and graphic novels and novels.
- 34:33Speaker 1: She has a young adult novel that I love. She's
- 34:35Speaker 1: an incredible writer, Queer Boa. And she was in town
- 34:40Speaker 1: because she's working on a new project and it was
- 34:43Speaker 1: really cool to like sit down with her. She's Oakland base,
- 34:46Speaker 1: but we've all been following each other I think for
- 34:48Speaker 1: a little while now, um, and we were just like
- 34:52Speaker 1: catching up and like what's going on, you know in
- 34:54Speaker 1: Oakland and how's the comic world and how's the writing? Um.
- 34:58Speaker 1: And Gabby was explaining to me that I I am
- 35:00Speaker 1: in my entering, entering your sad return my late twenties. Yes,
- 35:05Speaker 1: now's the time. Now is the time. This is like
- 35:07Speaker 1: if you're in a relationship, it's like it's going to
- 35:11Speaker 1: stand like a really big test where either you take
- 35:13Speaker 1: it to the next level or it ends right Um.
- 35:18Speaker 1: And then if you're like you're kind of laying the
- 35:20Speaker 1: groundwork for your career, so stuff is going to continue
- 35:23Speaker 1: to take off or you're gonna go into the career direction. Like,
- 35:26Speaker 1: all these different things kind of culminate around this time
- 35:29Speaker 1: of your life, which is I believe like twenty seven
- 35:31Speaker 1: to thirty um, pivotal times. Yes, so that is the
- 35:36Speaker 1: current stage that Mala is in, and it makes sense. Yeah,
- 35:40Speaker 1: so for folks that are around this age, you know,
- 35:43Speaker 1: thinking about what has you know, this time been like
- 35:46Speaker 1: for you, um, and that's most likely have been a
- 35:48Speaker 1: result of your Sadden return. Yeah, some heavy stuff. So
- 35:52Speaker 1: I was enlightened to all of that because all I
- 35:53Speaker 1: know is I'm a Capricorn, I'm a January cap and
- 35:56Speaker 1: we're insufferable. That's the extent of my knowledge, right right,
- 36:01Speaker 1: you know. And also just talking about Gabby, like Gabby
- 36:03Speaker 1: super dope because she has very much you know, become
- 36:07Speaker 1: a mentor to us and whatever space you're in, like
- 36:10Speaker 1: whether you're an artist, um, whatever job you may have,
- 36:14Speaker 1: whatever you're doing in your life, it's always good to
- 36:16Speaker 1: lean in on those mentors, um for advice and for
- 36:20Speaker 1: guidance and then but also have to be reciprocal so
- 36:24Speaker 1: that it's not like, oh, you're just hitting them up
- 36:26Speaker 1: because you need something, you need some advice, Like how
- 36:28Speaker 1: are you also you know, being a friend for to them? Um?
- 36:31Speaker 1: So I just wanted to share that. Yeah. Absolutely. I
- 36:35Speaker 1: mean I think as we grow and we meet so
- 36:37Speaker 1: many people through podcasting and just through being like visible
- 36:41Speaker 1: creative like women of color, we end up linking with
- 36:45Speaker 1: a lot of different creatives and artists, and um, it's
- 36:48Speaker 1: really nice not to just network but to form a
- 36:51Speaker 1: relationship exactly because and I think that that's like we're Lama,
- 36:56Speaker 1: where it's like you meet people and it's like, oh
- 36:58Speaker 1: what do you what do they want? Like what are
- 37:00Speaker 1: they trying to get out of me? Um? Which can
- 37:03Speaker 1: be true. But I think it's also important to not
- 37:08Speaker 1: just be meeting people with that with an agenda, yeah,
- 37:11Speaker 1: because that's that's where when it's phony, Um, it's true,
- 37:14Speaker 1: and you can tell, you can tell yeah, I don't
- 37:16Speaker 1: want to definitely persent tell it's just not authentic, it's
- 37:19Speaker 1: not fun. Um. And then how can you create art
- 37:23Speaker 1: together if it's to surface level? Yes, you know, I agree, Um,
- 37:28Speaker 1: so just moving on to the pleasure and play topic. UM,
- 37:36Speaker 1: I'm going to ask you a question, Ask me a question. Okay,
- 37:38Speaker 1: is there something in like your sex life past present,
- 37:46Speaker 1: future that you want want to try or that you've tried,
- 37:52Speaker 1: or something that you want to get into maybe with
- 37:54Speaker 1: a future partner. This is actually something that we kind
- 37:57Speaker 1: of talked about for a future look at thought after dark,
- 38:01Speaker 1: um like offering. Don't talk about it now, but but
- 38:03Speaker 1: it's something that we've like just kind of thrown out
- 38:06Speaker 1: there because it's related to like this question for me, right,
- 38:10Speaker 1: So I appreciate bondage and I do like being like
- 38:14Speaker 1: handcuffed and tied up, but I would like to do
- 38:17Speaker 1: it much more like intentionally because it's in the past,
- 38:21Speaker 1: it's been like here, use this bathrobe us like tie
- 38:26Speaker 1: from the bathrobe to tie me. Yeah, I've used like
- 38:28Speaker 1: the handkerchief type like tie me up that way, you know.
- 38:32Speaker 1: But I want some ropes. I want some actual bondage,
- 38:36Speaker 1: like something that needs to be invested in and then
- 38:39Speaker 1: also learning how to do it. And I feel like
- 38:41Speaker 1: it's important to learn it with a partner. It is
- 38:45Speaker 1: that way because there's a technique, there's a way to
- 38:46Speaker 1: do it. Um, and if you're not both on board,
- 38:50Speaker 1: it's not going to work out. Like, for example, I
- 38:52Speaker 1: also like to be choked, but if the person choking
- 38:55Speaker 1: you doesn't know how to choke you, Yeah, I'm I'm like,
- 38:59Speaker 1: I I'm like, you're crushing my windpipe. That's not how
- 39:04Speaker 1: that works. It should be the side. It should your
- 39:07Speaker 1: palm should never be what's like doing the pressing. It
- 39:10Speaker 1: needs to be like the sides. So their hands that
- 39:12Speaker 1: are around your neck is like that's what they're pushing
- 39:15Speaker 1: or pressing down on, pressing up against these like arteries. Yes,
- 39:19Speaker 1: and I don't know if they're artery. I don't know
- 39:21Speaker 1: what they are. But don't kill me. Don't just don't
- 39:23Speaker 1: kill me. And like also, you can't put your whole
- 39:26Speaker 1: body weight on a person. That's how you kill them. No,
- 39:32Speaker 1: I agree, Um, definitely, those are definitely things that I've
- 39:36Speaker 1: you know, played within the past, but not in like
- 39:38Speaker 1: a really in depth way. So that's something that's also
- 39:42Speaker 1: something that I'm interested in and like bringing into the bedroom.
- 39:46Speaker 1: You know what else. Okay, so I've seen this online right, um,
- 39:51Speaker 1: And there are like these vibrators that you can wear
- 39:56Speaker 1: that come with an app, like you've seen these videos.
- 39:59Speaker 1: I totally know what you're talking about, and like, so
- 40:02Speaker 1: you could be wearing this vibrator. You can have it
- 40:05Speaker 1: on I don't know how it works. You have or
- 40:07Speaker 1: it's inserted as I think you can inserted in your
- 40:10Speaker 1: underwear or the underwear itself is like vibrates, and then
- 40:16Speaker 1: your partner, like either on like an app or like
- 40:19Speaker 1: a remote control type of thing, can like play. We
- 40:23Speaker 1: can just like control it. And I think that I
- 40:27Speaker 1: totally get what you're getting at, and I think that
- 40:29Speaker 1: that would be great for play. I so for play,
- 40:34Speaker 1: I have always appreciated some like dangerous like public in
- 40:38Speaker 1: public spaces, you know, experiences, um, And so for me,
- 40:43Speaker 1: something like that with a partner could be so fun
- 40:45Speaker 1: to be like at dinner on a date, or at
- 40:47Speaker 1: the beach or just out and about and my partner
- 40:50Speaker 1: is on the app and it's activating me, activating me. Yes,
- 40:56Speaker 1: that would be great. You know something that I've been
- 40:58Speaker 1: wanting to do, And I told my partner that we
- 40:59Speaker 1: should do cause I really enjoy it, like a good
- 41:01Speaker 1: role play. So what I was saying is that we
- 41:04Speaker 1: should kind of meet at like a bar as strangers
- 41:08Speaker 1: I love and just have this like, you know, little rendezvous,
- 41:11Speaker 1: like as if we don't know each other love and
- 41:14Speaker 1: kind of just have this little you know, this little rendezvous.
- 41:17Speaker 1: What would your character be. I don't know. I'd have
- 41:19Speaker 1: to think about it. Um um, but modern family do that. Yeah,
- 41:26Speaker 1: and they have their personas their personalities. Yes, I love it.
- 41:30Speaker 1: That is something that I've been wanting to do. Have
- 41:32Speaker 1: you discussed this with your partner? I have. I told
- 41:34Speaker 1: him and he said yes. But now we just need
- 41:37Speaker 1: to like schedule it, Like can I be there? I
- 41:40Speaker 1: just want to witness. Yes, Well, I just that I
- 41:45Speaker 1: want to see the character I'll be into. I'll be
- 41:48Speaker 1: in disguised too, in role. Imagine it's scripted like we
- 41:57Speaker 1: casted Got All film. Chad and Michela there too. Poor Chava,
- 42:07Speaker 1: Oh my god, that's hysterical. Chava is a very sweet man.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Chava's our friend. He's one of our only straight male friends.
- 42:13Speaker 1: To be honest, it's very true. Yeah. Um so yeah,
- 42:17Speaker 1: I mean that is something that I've been wanting to do. Um. Yeah.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Anything else about pleasure and play? Mama? I Also when
- 42:27Speaker 1: I think about pleasure and play, I think that there's
- 42:31Speaker 1: so many ways to like, like experience pleasure without full
- 42:35Speaker 1: on sex or without penetration or intercourse, And for me,
- 42:39Speaker 1: that is so much fun, like just enjoying each other's
- 42:42Speaker 1: bodies and literally just playing with all the different sensations
- 42:46Speaker 1: that you can just stimulate on a person's body. Okay,
- 42:49Speaker 1: an pleasure. I remember I texted Mama one time and
- 42:51Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, this is really random, but I've
- 42:53Speaker 1: wondered if have you ever played with wax like hot?
- 42:56Speaker 1: Wat did ask me about I did? It was like
- 42:57Speaker 1: totally random, but I just had this like, I that's
- 43:00Speaker 1: something that also I've been wanting to try. But I
- 43:03Speaker 1: just feel like you have to do that very carefully.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Obviously I don't have I've never done it, so I'm like,
- 43:09Speaker 1: but it's something that I know that I would like
- 43:12Speaker 1: because of the sensation, the heat, you know. Um, so
- 43:17Speaker 1: that is something else that I want to kind of
- 43:20Speaker 1: try and dabble in. I like it. You know, where
- 43:23Speaker 1: does the wax go? I think immediately of like nipple pipples.
- 43:28Speaker 1: I feel like that could be like even if you
- 43:30Speaker 1: were to like drip it on your shoulder. Well, for me,
- 43:32Speaker 1: like my shoulders are very sensitive, so if you were
- 43:34Speaker 1: to just even like drip it there, like drip it
- 43:36Speaker 1: on your navel, like your belly button area, definitely, breast, thighs, everywhere.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Cover me in wax. Yes, oh my god, how funny.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I'm down. And it couldn't be any candle
- 43:48Speaker 1: or is it a special type? I don't know. We
- 43:51Speaker 1: need to look it. We should look we need to
- 43:52Speaker 1: look it up. We could do like a demonstration. Should
- 43:56Speaker 1: do that. Actually next week, I thought, after pouring wax on,
- 44:00Speaker 1: everyone who attends fire tickets to be there. Okay. So
- 44:04Speaker 1: Moll and I were prepping for look at that after
- 44:06Speaker 1: dark and my Buddima was there and we were just like, okay,
- 44:10Speaker 1: so like how do we like also like how do
- 44:12Speaker 1: we gain like more interest? Like what could we do?
- 44:17Speaker 1: You know? And then the ticket sales were kind of
- 44:20Speaker 1: slow at the beginning, were slow in the beginning, and
- 44:21Speaker 1: then they just like happened. It was a sold out event.
- 44:25Speaker 1: It was sold out. So we were like, so what
- 44:26Speaker 1: do we do? What do we offer? And my cousin
- 44:28Speaker 1: goes sex, So I was like, so, so are we
- 44:32Speaker 1: offering an orgy? Like it is now a play party?
- 44:36Speaker 1: Do Moll and I have sex? Like camera on camera?
- 44:39Speaker 1: Is that what people need to see? Is that what
- 44:41Speaker 1: they want, That's what they want. That's what they want.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Is what they want. People want to see us having
- 44:46Speaker 1: sex in front of an audience. That's like the next
- 44:52Speaker 1: installment of Lookout That Alive a podcast party will be
- 44:55Speaker 1: a pussy party party. But you know, it was a
- 45:00Speaker 1: great suggestion. We didn't need to do that this time around.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Maybe in the future. UM, surprised you, bogy exactly. That's
- 45:08Speaker 1: what we were saying. We really should we actually just
- 45:10Speaker 1: all have sex together. Is that what we're saying. I
- 45:13Speaker 1: think that's the move that's what people want, that's what
- 45:15Speaker 1: the people are yearning for, right, Give the people what
- 45:18Speaker 1: they want, to the people what they want. So yeah,
- 45:20Speaker 1: I mean, you know, there's so much, so many different
- 45:22Speaker 1: ways to approach these topics. UM, A lot of fun.
- 45:26Speaker 1: It's always a good time to talk about consent, pleasure
- 45:29Speaker 1: and play. And we want to know if we want
- 45:31Speaker 1: to hear from y'all. Yes, if you have anything in
- 45:34Speaker 1: particular as far as pleasure and play that you're into,
- 45:38Speaker 1: that's a lot of fun that you recommend that you've
- 45:40Speaker 1: wanted to try, leave a comment, let us know, let
- 45:44Speaker 1: us know, and this will also allow us, UM, this
- 45:47Speaker 1: will allow us to plan our next look at after Dark,
- 45:51Speaker 1: you know, with any suggestions you may have, because we
- 45:54Speaker 1: already have some ideas in the works, but hearing from
- 45:57Speaker 1: y'all will also help us curate an evening lutely, so
- 46:01Speaker 1: we want to know, find a new comments, Yes, come,
- 46:04Speaker 1: leave a suggestion in the comments, leave a suggestion on.
- 46:07Speaker 1: So this first installment of Look after Dark was consent,
- 46:10Speaker 1: pleasure and play. Which the next one be? The next
- 46:12Speaker 1: installment of Look after Dark? What should the sexy time
- 46:15Speaker 1: topic be? Give us hints? And we're not having sex
- 46:18Speaker 1: after We're not going to have sex afterwards. Kidding Well, well,
- 46:21Speaker 1: if you're cute, might we might? We might but we
- 46:26Speaker 1: oh yeah, well which we I don't know. I never
- 46:28Speaker 1: know anymore. Okay, anyway, So closing out, thank you so
