  [SPEAKER_00]: XML Jaguar fans welcome in to do vault daily prison by jing jack dot com i'm Jordan Luger thanks so much for being here Tuesday May 12 right now we are getting into a flurry of roster moves the Jaguar is made on Monday and a lot of times after a rookie mini camp concludes or OTAs or mandatory mini camp or even training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: After a certain portion of the offseason, you often see teams make moves.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguar's did exactly that on Monday, following rookie mini camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They made two moves and two subsequent moves.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So total of four moves and total.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They signed running back in Mira, Abdullah, which, you know, tell Jordan and what?

  [SPEAKER_00]: 2013, the Jaguars are getting them here up dual, it's like hell, yeah, I'm jacked up about that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, anybody who watched him in college, unbelievable.

  [SPEAKER_00]: uh... player in college and he's done some great things in the NFL so we'll talk about that and then you also have the jackwares uh... recigning offensive line excuse me offensive lineman sal warmly who they cut last week he was an undrafted free agent for the jackwares uh... last year so somebody who they decided move on from decided bring back i think they decided to bring him back

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not only because current undrafted free agent, rookie, Jordan White, got placed on the reserve slash retired list.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I guess he retired, but the Jack Wars are very intentional about who they're bringing into their building, very intentional.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think Sal Wormley, probably not somebody that they really wanted to move on from, but from a number standpoint, that's the decision they made.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, Jordan White, who was an interior offensive lineman, again, rookie on draft of for agent this year, Jaguars had just signed him on April 26 as an undrafted for agent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He bounced around in college a bit as a lot of guys do in the current NIL market.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We have in college football and a lot of the Jaguars players.

  [SPEAKER_00]: that they bring in do that because they like to see players succeed at different levels of competition.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So for the first three years of his career, Jordan White was an interior offensive linemen mainly playing guard at West Virginia, not a starter, but somebody who got in and, um,

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, certain situations with injuries and such, and then had two years at Liberty where he started one year at Center, one year at guard, and then he got to Vanderbilt in the SEC, big jump up and competition there from Liberty, and he started at Center for Vanderbilt last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So the Jaguar as brought him in is under after free agent at almost 25 years old.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's another thing you see commonly with the Jaguar's rookies is that they're up there in age, especially this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's another byproduct of NIL.

  [SPEAKER_00]: but also of the jag wars in their evaluation process, liking to see guys take that next step in competition.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now again, Sal Wormley is back with the Jags who played his entire collegiate career at Penn State.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Think the Jaguars obviously liked what they saw from him in 2024 at Penn State.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They brought him in, they drafted him or not drafted him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But brought him his own draft of pre-agent last year, and then

  [SPEAKER_00]: He stayed around all year and then he just recently again last week got cut and now he's back so the Jaguar is brought south warmly back to the 90-man roster not a player who is going to end up making the 53 but certainly a practice squad candidate there so those were the two subsequent moves with you know Jordan White retiring south warmly returning and then

  [SPEAKER_00]: to bring in Amir Abdullah, the Jaguars waived running back to Quinn and Jackson, who was an undrafted free agent last year by the Jags, and a player who, quite frankly, I really liked, I thought that really big back, like 230 pounds, six foot to just a different archetype at running back than what the Jaguars have had as of late.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But they brought in Chris Rodriguez is obviously more in that mold, the big physical back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Chris Rodriguez is probably the Jaguar as one A running back right now with racial tuton being one B.

  [SPEAKER_00]: To Quinn and Jackson, I thought as a rookie, he did everything they asked him to do and more

  [SPEAKER_00]: you know in practice training camp running physically like he was consistently running through tacklers punishing tacklers and training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then he did a good job, I thought, and pass pro throughout training camp and the regular season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he showed pretty good hands.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But again, was the archetype of that big physical back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's thinks that he's no longer with the

  [SPEAKER_00]: practice squad type back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think what you're seeing here is clearly a archetype shift for the jag wars and this, this, you know, currently six running back on the roster because they have obviously their top three locked in.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You went and got Chris Rodriguez, you have

  [SPEAKER_00]: They signed him late in the season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He has special teams value.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He has third down value.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's just a pretty good overall back that has like, you know, return value and good special teams value.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But to Quentin Jackson less proven than Amir Abduola certainly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: doesn't have necessarily that that real return value, that big time special teams upside or juice that he can bring to to the roster.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But again, I thought he did such a good job.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not bashing the Jaguars for moving on from Jakob in Jackson.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's clearly a different archetype that they're looking for for this running back competition, both for the back of the roster and for, you know, practice squad.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, it is what it is.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But on the flip side of that, I am excited to see your mirror dual in Jacksonville again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You go back to his days at Nebraska.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was unbelievable as a collegiate runner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In the NFL,

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's never been a feature back really.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean early on in his career and Detroit Detroit, excuse me, he did have a couple of seasons where he had clips over 140 carries.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But for the most part, he's been a scrapback and a special team's back, third downback, special team's back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a dangerous returner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you got to give him credit for that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, he's done some really good things as a kicker returner throughout his career.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He has over a hundred, he has 176 kicker turns in his career.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And just quick, he's five nine, two, three, four six speed, which that was actually shocking to me coming out in Nebraska.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I thought he would run way faster than that, but his game is more about quickness and twitch acceleration than it is really top speed.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But he'll be competing now, I think.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Kind of directly with DJ Dallas.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if the Jaguars will definitely keep forward running back on the active roster or on the 53-man roster.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But you're talking about competing with DJ Dallas and competing with Jamari Taylor, I think, to be the fourth back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Last year he played with the Colts he returned 19 kicks he averaged almost 30 yards per kick return the year before that He averaged 32 yards per kick return with the Raiders so he's been doing some really good things as of late in his career as a returner

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that these new rules may be suit his skill set really well as a returner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The new kickoff rules, but he's 33 years old in June.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, almost there about a month away from his birthday, I'll be excited to see him on the practice field if nothing else just because this guy was like a collegiate legend.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But the Jaguars didn't bring him in because he's a collegiate legend.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They think he can compete as a return man, as a valuable piece, as either back of the 53 or more likely I would guess.

  [SPEAKER_00]: practice squad but he could if they keep for he could compete for the back of the 53 for sure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he could push DJ Dallas.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I do like DJ Dallas though too like in that same archetype Dallas is a little bit of a bigger player but you know somebody who can help you on passing situations and be a really good returner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think there's value in both of those guys and again the jacks they can elevate standard elevation from the practice squad these different guys a

  [SPEAKER_00]: DJ Dallas in the rotation as a returner is potentially for the jackwares this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then Jim Ari Taylor has to factor in as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The undrafted for agent out of Virginia player, I thought should have been drafted.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't get drafted because he didn't run all that well, but really impressive player in my opinion does not have a lot of return value.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So if they're looking to have somebody that has returned value with

  [SPEAKER_00]: or I shouldn't say it doesn't have return value.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have a lot of return experience, I should say.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's only returned eight kicks in his career, not overly impressive from a statistical standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So if Jermari Taylor is going to compete to be the fourth guy, he's going to have to probably show that he can return and also be much more impressive than those guys on offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and you gotta have some such a team's value.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it's gonna maybe be an uphill battle for him, but I think he's potentially got the ability to do it, but more competition, bottom line.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's love adding competition to this roster, and that's exactly what they did with Amir Abdullah.
