- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: We filter our lives.
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody wants to really just tell the truth.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: The way you tell stories, the way you've been able to build success for yourself and your clients, it's just like next level.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: Your transparency will lead to other people's transformation.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think so many people are afraid to be vulnerable.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: Not realizing that vulnerability is what the money maker is.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: I've spent a lot of time with a lot of celebrities backstage.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: There isn't a client that I don't have that doesn't cry.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: because I'm digging, like, trying to pull it out, like, truly just get into you calls.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just gonna mess it out.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like, when you meet, when you, in the presence of Oprah, it's a different energy, yeah.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: When you, in the presence of Jay-Z, you, like, it's a different energy.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: Artificial intelligence that could write things, is that an advantage of a disadvantage to what the intensity of your story.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: Just be authentic.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: True of false, in order to make six figures as an author from your book, you have to be a celebrity.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: I know you want to watch this next video, but listen, if you are an entrepreneur, business coach, business consultant, or a small business owner who has a story and wants to learn how to create multiple streams of income from your story, I need you to text me right now, my book.

- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: So I wanna help you do the same thing.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: So text my book to six, four, six, six, eight, seven, four, one, five, two.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: I, let's go back to the video.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so welcome to another awesome episode of Inside The Vault with Ash Cash.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: The greatest money mindset show on the planet family today.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Inside the vault, we're diving into one of the most powerful currencies on the entire planet.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: And that is storytelling, because in this new economy, the person who tells the story controls the stage, the sale, and the system.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: And my guess today is a man, people call when they want their story to print money.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about Master Storyteller himself, Brian Johnson.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: He moved to Los Angeles with just $325 in a dream and a decade later, his gift took him from homelessness, adjacent hustler, to working on some of the biggest productions in modern media, from the Arsenio Hall show, to Netflix, Bill Nice, Sage the World, to Apples,
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's worked behind the scenes with world-class platforms, like the breakfast club, Jay Shetty's on purpose, and NFL's Hall of Famer to Rail Owens.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: Learning exactly what makes a message marketable, memorable, and monetizable, and when he took,
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: And when he took everything he learned and wrote his first book, live your dreams out loud, it became an Amazon bestseller and unlocked a global movement, launching Ryan into coaching, speaking, publishing and high-level brand development.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Today, Brian is the founder of Purpose, Publist, Profits, a premium coaching and publishing system that helps faith-based, driven leaders and purpose-driven entrepreneurs.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: turned their life story into best-selling books, six-figure coaching programs, and impact driven brands, and also the co-founder of the book-rich profits club.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's not just a writer, he's a visionary who turns testimonies into tools and stories into our streams of income.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: If you've ever wonder how to turn your life lesson into leverage or how a single story can fund your legacy.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: You are about to find out, family, help me welcome inside the vault, the man, the myth, the legend, the story, tell it to the stars, the strategis behind the stories, and one of the most gifted
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: Man, Jenny Sharp ain't got nothing on your bros. That's the best intro.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: I need all of that.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: I need all of that.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: Bro, that was amazing man.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: They sit back like, wow, bro.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing, bro.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: Happy to be here, man.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: You know, being a fan of yours for quite some time.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a blessing in honor, bro.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm ready to get into it, man.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, bro.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I'm excited, man, because
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: Most people who watch Inside the Vault know my passion around books.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: I say books have literally changed my life, saved my life from first reading books and allowing books to expand my mind to what was possible, because based on where I come from, I didn't know what was possible until I started to read books.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then fast forward, once I got a little bit of success,
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: I realized that that has made me in some multiple seven-figure earner, and so I love books.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: And so when I came across you and I just kind of saw your passion as well, and what you do, it kind of like,
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it was, it was almost like a next level, right?
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: Because for me, you know, you know, I, you know, I got some things, like I made, I hope you made some money.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: But the way you tell stories, the way you've crafted, the way you've been able to, you know, you know, build success for yourself and your clients, it's just like next level.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I want to jump into a lot of that.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: So people could understand, but for those who don't know, who, maybe I know who Brian Johnson is.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: And your words.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: Who is Brian Johnson?
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I'm a first of all.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a child of God.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a product of Skipperville, Alabama.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: We are on the map, it's in the southeast corner, born and raised in Skipperville, Alabama, population.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think six hundred and twenty five people, you know, six hundred the whole town, six at the whole town.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: We got a caution life.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: I was getting to know that.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: So my high school graduate in class is 52 people.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so 625 people, that was at the time.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: It might be a little bit more now.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: Single parent mom, man.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: My mom worked in three, four jobs at a time to support my brother and I.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: So growing up, man, not having that father, my life like change and altered and fueled me, like, you know, to just be the best of the best, you know.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: So sports and basketball primarily was my thing.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: That was my outlet.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even understand it was the outlet at the time.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: but there was so much anger and frustration in me when my dad and I being in my life.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: So me feel like basketball, bro.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I would play all day, every day.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: In and up, getting a scholarship, my college to play, duko for two years.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: Red shirt in my first year, played the second year, was tired and just ready to go to school, went to the University of Alabama.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: After that man went to corporate America for like six months, realized quickly, that wasn't for me, bro.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: And that just began my entrepreneur journey right there.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Take me back, right, $325, right?
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: You got $325, so Hollywood, you came to LA, right?
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: So from Alabama, you came to LA with a dream, $325.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: You know, what kept you going when the story didn't match the vision, like tell me about that.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: my faith bro, you know I mean in my mom she was always been my wife and you know growing up in a small town I've always been this dreamer like we from the internet pre you know I mean from the world of pre internet you know just a few channels on the television and so you know before there was the internet bro you just all you had to do was just just vision what was possible and when when I first saw that
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: doing dumb man.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I saw more of the world.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, out you from New York, you you sense and see something way more than I do in the country.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: All I see is woods.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: So just man, having this dream to just want to, you know, you grow and watch in our senior hall and all the people.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I just got a point, I got to a point in life where I had took a lot of ale's just on the entrepreneur journey.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so LA, like I wanted to just be in a space to learn how to share my story, be around storytellers, be around some of the best to ever do it.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: So man, after battling depression and anxiety and being suicidal, like I reached out to Tavis Smiley, who I had already known from a previous relationship, him and the Black Guy, father, Reston, Peace, Clarence, Abund.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: And man, they gave me a chance to come out to Los Angeles.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: I had no bread, but I had to grate those some few scraps from some friends, moved out to Los Angeles with $325 in the red suitcase, and I was adding value to Tavis.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: Because I said, Tavis, listen, you don't have to pay me.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: But I just want to learn from you.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: You are speaker, you're an author, you're a television host.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: How did you do that?
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to help you and your business.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: If you can just show me the game and let me be around you, you don't have to pay me anything.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: You said, come out to LA, like check it out first.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: I came out, checked it out, went back home, sold everything, got my bread up.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: The Lothor, we're going to $25.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: Move out to LA, he put me up in a place and that became the journey that changed everything, bro.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: How, at what point did you know that you had the gift of storytelling or like, so it's not even or, and how do you, like, at what point did you do to give a storytelling and when did you realize that this was like a business model, like I could build a business from this.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even know what I was doing, but most people are afraid to start in small.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I started being honest with my journey, like as soon as I got the LA, like as soon as I got the LA, I'm like, oh, I'm gonna start documenting and telling people exactly where I'm at.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm broke, like I really don't have it right now, but I'm in LA pursuing this journey.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: I told them that.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: On Instagram, I started going to Ham.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: So for me, I was intentional, like just start showing up.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: It was just something intuitive in me just saying, just start sharing, just start being honest.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: Just start being transparent.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: And bro, that's what I started doing from the moment I touched down at LA, I was just documenting my life showing people everything like listen, I'm in the room, working right now, like trying to get towards this, trying to get towards that blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: And that was really the beginning of me telling my story, not realizing what I was doing.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: And the other, like I asked about you saying that because I think so many people are afraid to be vulnerable.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, not realizing that that vulnerability, um, is, is what the money maker is, is what what allows people to connect with you, um, but you are in a frame, like you're in a frame, like you're, you're, you're not afraid of what people would think about you, what they would say about you, you know, not for real, bro, like it,
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: There were people like Brendan Bershard, James Malin Czech, E.T.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: at the time that I was studying and they were just talking about the power of storytelling and telling your story.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: And Brendan Bershard every time I hear him telling his story, he tells it was so much conviction and passion.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: That was one thing I'm like, if I'm going to build my platform, because when I look at my business today, it really was that seed of transparency.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: It was really like people who have seen my journey for so long,
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: like we talk about Alex Ramosi today it's like he puts out so much valuable content that when he gets ready to deliver something it's like I gotta go get this so I believe that's kind of true for me too like I've started deliverance so much transparency from the beginning of people following my journey and you can like go back on my page and just see it all the way down in like 2013 like wow he was he was telling this and he was sharing that
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: And people just gravitated towards that, bro.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: And like, that was the beginning, because I didn't understand frameworks and storytelling and getting ready to work with these large corporations and individuals and celebrities.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't really know anything about storytelling.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: I was just being honest, because I wanted, I wanted to find a way to deliver to the audience of people that was following me, knowing that I had a book coming out at some point in time.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, let me just start sharing what's actually going on.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: You are a six-time Emmy Award winning or a six-time Emmy Award winner.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: And you've produced, you've written, you've coached at the highest levels.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: In 2025, what makes a story sell them?
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: How do you sell a story?
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: man.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's such a great question.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like so many people think that it has to be concocted in this perfect manner, right?
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I just I say this all the time your transparency will lead to other people's transformation.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: And the more transparent and authentic you are with your story.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: When we think about some of the shows that I've been on, people that come on that gets the most virality is the people that are coming on sharing their story and being authentic, right?
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: And when you hear celebrities like, we gravitate towards the celebrities who actually share an unveil something that we've never heard of them, right?
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's raw and transparency.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: So in 2025 today, it's truly about the fundamentals, just be vulnerable, be raw, be authentic.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's not dear diary.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to share everything.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody knows what I'm saying, but like you at least got to share something that allows the end user to connect with you.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like just being transparent.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: Um, or how does transparency weigh in telling your story, um, compared, not even compared but with, with AI now, right, with the, with, with having artificial intelligence that could write things that could now, you know, visually, you know, could do things.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: Um, is that a, is that a advantage or disadvantage to authenticity in your story?
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's like you got to use Aia for the great of good, right?
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like Aia can't tell your story for you.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: Only you know your story when it comes to you being transparent.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: But you can be transparent with Aia to help you shape your story and really give it the right prompts as it relates to narratives and story arcs and playbacks and transitions and all those elements that go into a story.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: And if you got the right prompts, when it's about telling your story, AI can be to your advantage, right?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: But if you don't know how to utilize the technology as it relates to being able to perfect like craft that story the right way, it doesn't really matter.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I find that because there's so much fake stuff out there that like the authenticity is like a breath of fresh air, you know, like it's like, you know, you don't know what's real, what's fake.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: So now.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: When you find somebody online, that's being authentic.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's being like, you don't even need to highly produce stuff.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: No matter what.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: You don't say it like you would just be your role authentic self.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's data and statistics out there.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: And there's what's what's my man's name that the CEO of Instagram, Adam, I'm sorry.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like, yo, just pick up the phone and just act like you're on FaceTime.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like those videos transact better than the highly produced videos.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: Because in this world of AI today people want to be so overly produced.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's cutaways to this cutaways of that But if you just really just be authentic and you got some character and some elements in your video like whether you walk in right Like I tell my clients all the time like don't just be sitting there like being an all-station there Like provide and show some color in the background as you're telling your story Bring that in user into it, but just be real raw and authentic right there on the phone.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know what I mean
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: One of the things I've noticed, and I'm pretty sure there's a lot of people watching this that could relate.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: But there's some people that live some extraordinary lives right now.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: But I find like, they are the most...
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: challenged.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: They struggled with a most with being able to communicate this worldwide.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, man, because they, because they just not being real in a life, bro, you know, like I've, I've spent a lot of time with a lot of celebrities backstage who are very, very successful, but are dying inside.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like who aren't truly living that authentic life?
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: When that camera's on, it's like, hey, it's like this.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: When that camera's off, man, they just, they're miserable, bro.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: They're depressed.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of times people ask me the question, like, oh, how was so and so when you work with them, I'm like, that's not a fair question.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like why is that?
- 16:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, because you don't know what kind of day that person was having.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like I see these people juggle and struggle with so much, right?
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's all that the people that have all the accolades,
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: telling the truth because they're not living the truth.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like they're a caricature of themselves.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I think with social media these days, just think about filters.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: We filter our lives.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like we don't really share the true authentic.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like nobody wants to really just tell the truth.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, I don't want to be so vulnerable like that, but I get it.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: But at the same time, I think with storytelling, bro.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: I always say this.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like people think there's this specific like formula.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, just be authentic.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, just be authentic.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's the way I started out my book.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: I started out my book with telling my story of how I almost committed suicide.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: And that is the thing that people like just drawn to like, wow, I had no idea.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: And that just became a ripple effect.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I've heard it and seen it live.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy though, because no matter how many times you tell that story, I told you to tell that story, I get the same emotional feeling every time.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like I get it.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: And so,
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a science to that?
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a science to telling a story that could actually hit, right?
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm every entrepreneur thinks that they got a story, right?
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: And that there unique, but from a marketing perspective, so making it marketable and making it emotional, like I said, like every time, like we've done, you know, workshops together, every time you tell that story, I'm like, oh,
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's coming.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think the race for self-drusted, like what is that?
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's the conviction, it's the conviction and how you share your story.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: And there's two things for anybody that is watching us right now, whether you're writing a story, or whether you're telling the story, you got to bring people into the fold.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you ever noticed when I'm sharing my story, I take you into the car.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: Right, I tell you what's going on in that car.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: How I'm thinking, I paint the scene for you.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: or what the car looks like, what the seats looked like, what I was listening to.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: I regurgitate back to you, what I was listening to, the lyrics from the song, as I'm driving down the road, I talk about the wind, I talk about the exit, I tell you the number, I tell you the road and where it was at.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you write in a story or you tell in a story, the more did you paint the elements and bring the care to the story, people are going to actually feel that and connect with it.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying on top of your conviction?
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: Um, that's powerful because I think that that's what to your point.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's what makes it powerful.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like I remember you telling a story there about being in a car.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but you were listening to it and you don't say it It's funny.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's like that's a gem.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I got to go back and get that.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: But because that and I'm thinking about it I'm like as you're talking
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm imagining that, I'm putting myself in the car, so not, I don't see, I don't, I don't see your body, but my eyes
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: I see the windshield.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: I see the music, like I hear it, and then, yeah.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's good, that's good.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I said, you know, I tell that, and I tell that Kanye story, and then I regurgitate back those lyrics, right?
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: I just need time alone with my own thoughts.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: And if you notice any time we're on a workshop, I don't just say it once.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: I come back and say it twice.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: You wanna me?
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: And like, I just tie everything off together.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's a science job.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's a science, and so you've become one of the go-to-high ticket ghostwriters, and I'll be happy on us with you, right?
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: So, I
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: There are ghost writers out there that, you know, all 153,000, whatever, right?
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: Those are those ghost writers.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I prodded myself, because I was like, you're on my hot ticket.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling hot ticket, right?
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: But I charge anywhere from 15, the most I've charged was 50,000, right?
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: Between 15,000 and 50,000 to ghost writer book,
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: Um, which I always thought was more than fair because of the value that I give because not only am I gonna write the book, it's gonna be so, it's gonna, you know, it's gonna be so great.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna make money from it from the rest of your life.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: You've been able to, like, I talked to you.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: You was like, yeah, I thought it was 60 times.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I said.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think the truth of the matter is me leveraging my experience from Hollywood being able to produce on top tier shows, right, understanding the truth of storytelling, understanding the truth of like business and like merging these worlds together and being able to showcase that to people.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: Because my superpower is sitting down and interviewing you.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: like that's my superpower.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm able to produce and pull everything out of you in a way and I learn those skills by being able to work on certain shows, right?
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we do pre-interviews.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: You sit in there all the time looking at the primary host with his Arsenio Hall, Jay Shetty, T.O.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Bill, not a science guy.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm watching them.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm studying them.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: The questions that they ask.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: I know what the producers, how their former late knees questions, trying to dig, the research they goes into it.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I think the thing that separates me from the three to the one twenty is that experience of the know-how or know-and-how to truly interview and produce and get the best to make the best book.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I love that you said that because that that's why like I live anytime I go Some place and somebody says oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I do I do what you do.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: No, you know you don't know you I remember talking to a client You know about a book and a project and I saw the whole vision
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: for how we could write the book to sell all of their other products and services.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: And they were like, yeah, you know, like some other offers and, you know, and they would like try to quote me lower prices.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, go with that person.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: Because the true food matter is that they don't even know what I do.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: They won't even craft the story with like like I see what they I see their work They're gonna try to make it a memoir.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody cares about a memoir.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: You got it.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: You got to write it in a certain way To make people kids a big make people have that impact and the other piece of it though too is that you can't chat Gft No, we do know not at all.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: You talk about that a little bit like like like you know why like what is it in the
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: Because I can't put a word to it, like I just know that if I hear somebody's story, my brain does this thing and creatively it could come up with what direction we need to go and things in that nature.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: So even if I wanted to duplicate what I do and tell and prompt Chadsey, I could not.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I tried, though, too.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, true.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: I get to.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: I get to.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think for me, it's about painting the picture.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: Any time I'm interviewing somebody, I know sometimes that there's questions that I want to ask to get to a point, but I have to paint the picture in a way and it may take me 30 minutes to get to that one point because I got to really take you in different directions to drive that one point home.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I think when it comes to chat GPT, like I've struggled with that too.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like looking at trying to put SOPs and systems in place to feel like like, how can I duplicate myself like, bro, you can't.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: Because when I'm interviewing somebody, I just like you have this intuitive ability to just go in and like, pull that out.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: There isn't a client that I don't have that doesn't cry.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: because I'm digging, like, trying to pull it out, like, truly just get into you, Paul's.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just, I'm just, I'm just gonna mess it up.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna, that was crazy.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna, I was giving it, whoa, I pulled it out, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm getting the best out of you, Max.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, it's really just a formula, but that formula is just truly intuitive, right?
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: I can't explain it.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: When you're goes right in for like CEOs, influences, and speakers, what's the first thing you look for, it's a bill, go the best out of it?
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:30[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 25:30[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: get on the call with them and just ask a bunch of questions and then I just let them talk.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like people were pretty much tell you what it is that you need to hear if you just let them talk.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so I really just try to start with what's the most painful thing or experience that they're dealing with or what's the most, what's the thing that's really like still stuck in the throat, they can't really just get out.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: Paul Securities, so you know what you're crazy.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: What I just, you notice when you're talking to people, man, like they, they might be short on what they want to say.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: And so, I'm sorry, but I'm sorry.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so, like it's just my job to get the best out of you, man.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: So when I'm sitting down with a CEO or I'll tell you this, I got a client right now.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_01]: I recorded him and we probably, I normally do 12 to 16 sessions on Zoom, right?
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty much a good book for me about 200.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: I probably get by 50,000 words out of that, 55,000 on a little, like, memoir, you know, autobiography, like, you know, they range you to work from 50 to 90,000 words.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's just really just, but this one right here's about 400,000 words.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: right so we got to cut that down to 90 that's a different type of editing but I needed to let him get all of his story out right to go back and pinpoint and figure out exactly what are the points in the blocks and how we can connect the dots because there's methods in the story where I may insert something that he said in chapter 32 that's from chapter 7 that needs to be a tie or set up for something that's coming in chapter 32 you know what I'm saying so it's really like land those bricks
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: How would you say that a premium book opens a door for coaching, speaking, and how to get problems?
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good question.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think premium books just set the standard versus being, you know, just any old regular book.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if it's something premium, it's polished, you can look at the formatting.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: You can just, how the story opens up, or,
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: you know if it's going to be a technical book like I think just the premium book but the premium marketing too as well because I know books are there that aren't the best book but the marketing behind the book from the cover to the you know the rollout all those things truly do matter so I mean premium is subjective right because I believe I think well I don't know I think T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: you know, true false in order to make six figures as a, you know, as an author from your book, you have to be a celebrity.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: False, 100% false.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: One of the biggest myths people think you have to be a celebrity, you think they have to be rich, you think you have to have a lot of followers, like none of those things to be true.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: Some people think they're too old to write a book, like those are some of the things that prevent people from writing a book, but no, that is completely false.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I think, you know, because I mean, obviously you have clients, I have clients that were not celebrities who are not celebrities who, you know, have made a lot of money from their books without being a celebrity.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: What's the, what's that formula?
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: What's that, what's that sauce?
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: What, you know, what, what makes someone's who's a non celebrity, you know, sell, you know, be able to make a six figure income or more from their book.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: We know that it's not just about the book, it's really about the back end, right?
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: And so, I think it's about generate momentum initially with the presale and building that momentum, because if you are self-published author, one of the biggest mistakes that you make is waiting until the book is done to start preselling your book, right?
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like, no, that's the biggest mistake.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: You got to start generating the momentum, but you got to look at this,
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: from a business standpoint and say all right what else is it what other verticals that can I create in order to really build and scale this to get to the six figures because it wasn't six figures for me in book sales initially even though I would go to colleges and sell five hundred copies of my book and get a speaking fee it was really just the back end from speaking to starting the coaching that made me the six figures yeah yeah and I love that
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: Talk a little bit about your purpose, public's profit, framework, what's the core promise of that system?
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, just being able to deliver you a quality transformational book, I think a lot of what I do in the book world and the book coaching.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: is also life coaching to as well.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: So when we say purpose, like it's hard to get into your book to help you really establish a great book when a lot of times my clients, they might say it's not even in the right place.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I spend maybe four to six weeks just coaching you like
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: of getting, it's kind of a hybrid.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting out of you what I need to get out of you for your book, but at the same time, I'm shifting your mind set to get you ready for what's getting ready to come.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 30:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_00]: How did you, so I know you mentioned like most of your clients, like they wind up like crying, right?
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a lot of people who've been through some stuff in my life, right?
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like how do you,
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: I guess how do you push your quiet to be authentic since the story without necessarily triggering healed wounds if you will?
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I always deliver and say listen number one contractually like I have an obligation
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: to ensure that you're protected.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like nothing that you say will never, whatever, as a human, I have a more obligation to make sure you know that this is a safe space, right?
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I think just by saying that up front, a lot of times, it lets people just like, okay.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so we're not going to put this on camera.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: We may not put this in the book, but I just need you to go ahead and go there because like that what you might share may help unlock something that we need in the book.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: And so a lot of times, man, I think just being honest again with people and like giving them the space to be able to say what they need to say.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: you work with massive platforms of breakfast clubs, J. Shetty, to Row Owens.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_00]: What did Hollywood teach you about the power of story?
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: And it's he'll get on everybody's taro.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro, taro,
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: that everybody is, Macon Teele, yeah Teele, yeah Teele, yeah Teele, yeah Teele, yeah.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody that that presents, I mean, they're not truly being authentic, you know?
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: Um, it's a lot of people that present well that truly aren't living that story.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's Hollywood, right?
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: And Hollywood would chew you up and spit you out.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if you don't, if you don't really know, there are a lot of people that front.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there are a lot of people that act.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're acting one way, presenting one way.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: And so Hollywood, I mean, listen,
- 32:28[SPEAKER_01]: in the world of Hollywood.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I want to say, because I know that talk about Hollywood and the music business.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: They talk about this dark spirit.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's dark, bro.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: And it's dark.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's levels to the darkness too as well, right?
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like I never went down that, but for me it was just like drinking in chicks.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like that was the BS, but, but not it's dark.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of people act and present because it's hard.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to be in that industry and truly be authentic.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Because you get chances and opportunities and people like try to lob you to this and lob you to that.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: And like if you ain't got a strong foundation in mind, man, you'll get lost.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: 100% so how do you know the biggest thing that it showed me that people aren't truly being authentic to themselves for sure?
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: How do you balance right so you know talking about like darkness and things in that nature?
- 33:17[SPEAKER_00]: I truly feel like right now like as we record like this very moment there is a spiritual war happening as like
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: a fight for good and evil like it's like for real like this feel this just feel like what it of times um how do you balance like creativity strategy but then spirituality like still stay spiritually grounded how do you balance that in your work?
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yes good man spiritual spiritual warfare is going on right now at all time high you know you see a lot of the bad and and people wanting to push towards a good and for me man it's just my foundation right my faith is everything
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: There's times while I strayed away and been out in the world and been on some BS, but it's really been about my faith For the I mean getting back to like the true center of like I can't be doing that like I know When I'm on the BS like it limits me creatively, right?
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm out here chasing women and getting drunk and doing all the BS like all the time like I can't even create in the way that I want to because I got so much energy on me
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think we as a people right now are just in this confused state.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I think it's people like you and I and what we're doing like we're raised in the conscious and the vibration of people to like really like shake them and say, listen, there is a way for you to share your story.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: You are powerful.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: You can turn that lesson into a book like come over here like you can live the life that you deserve to live because so many people are taught into.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: celebrity culture, things that don't really truly feel them, they watch and TV all the time, they own the phones all the time, they got bad habits, they thought truly just doing the work and they tied into other people's lives instead of just trying to focus on being the better version of themselves.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, nice, powerful, that's powerful.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_00]: You've built a seven figure business doing this.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_00]: What's the biggest financial lessons?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: Being a multiple-sided figure earner has taught you, and then what lessons have you learned?
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: Financial lessons that you've learned from writing as well.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: Man, organization, you know, just having a count it, having a bookkeeper, getting the right team in place, you know, because I think inherently as a creative, like I'm not the most detail oriented, you know, organized person.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: So I think when you start getting to different levels, they're just different things that you have to do, right?
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: And just from a business standpoint, the breakdown of just understanding taxes and all that stuff and what comes with it, what you can write off and all that stuff.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I think as a seven figure like doing that in revenue like there's just levels and things that you need to go you got to be systematized and organized the be able to scale because I know.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: From the time that I was doing everything myself, and then I was like, well, I'm going to take this hit financially.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: But you got to change it mindset.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: It ain't really you taking a hit financially.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's really you investing into yourself to scare your business up.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_00]: Well, how does it feel?
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: It woke me through that feeling of like, you know, kid, kid from a single parent home, country kid, small town.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_00]: When you, when you, when you made that M, like we made that first M,
- 36:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like what's going through your mind?
- 36:28[SPEAKER_00]: What are you feeling like, like, like, like take me through that?
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, like, honestly, man, like, I'm struggling with that.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: Even right now, like, because I don't feel like I've arrived.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: I know what I'm saying.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's just that hunger in that desiring me.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: Just because you also clear seven figures in revenue, don't mean you lick it like that either.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think that's one thing.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's anything because it's a racing.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know, depending on what you're overhead and your cost is, what to do seven figures in revenue has been a blessing.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think being able to, my mom calls me, she don't really ask for nothing ever, right?
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: But she's gonna go get into work, okay, boom, here you go.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: She's gonna go in this trip, boom.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: My family, they need something.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: My brother and my nieces, they need something, boom, here they go.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: And then just being able to serve people.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there's a lot of things that I don't talk about that I do and how many people I help or if I'm going out in the streets and I'm giving cash away.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: If there's somebody that I walk into and we just sitting down, I have a conversation.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: cash happened to you as Ellen you and it's just I think the joys of being able to serve and give like having bread like going from that that you know I grew up in a single wide trailer like a true single wide trailer bro you know what I mean like my grandparents raised me my great grandparents they were born in 1916 in 1918 and they were the ones that raised me like I grew up
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: with a lot of love.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't like struggling to eat, but you know what I'm saying?
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: But like we was not, we didn't have everything.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: We had everything we needed, you know what I mean for the most part.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm always just a humble cat, man.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like that I realized like, yo, you, you haven't even scratched the surface.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm 42 and I ain't even scratched the surface.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: I had to go through.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: that season of being, you know, not so good of a, of a man, right?
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: I had to take them bumps.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: I had to take them.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't lost as it was lessons, right?
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't, I don't believe in losses.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: I believe in lessons.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: Everything's a lesson.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: So just to get to this point now where I'm like, man, I think I heard you say something.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember if it was in person or on a video.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: You was talking about Amazon Prime.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: and he was talking about just being able to if you want to just dial in a punch in, you know, to go be able to create you can.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: And to be in that stage of life right now to know like, if I put a off-ride or something like, you're I can go make some bright.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's a powerful position of being, you know what I mean?
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I know myself like I've struggled with survivors, guilt, I've struggled with recognizing my impact or recognizing what I do.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_00]: I've struggled with
- 38:59[SPEAKER_00]: self-satotized, you know, like making money and then just blowing it just cause it's a lie.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I dealt with all of that.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: What would you say like if there's a, if there's a money lesson that you're, you know, any first time millionaire or any first time person who's earned a lot of money, um, you know, if you wanted to teach them right now, like what money lesson would you, would you tell them?
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: you don't need the car, you don't need the, you don't, you don't necessarily need the house, you don't need the watch, you don't need the clothes, you don't need to chase the women, right now, you need to stack, you need to invest into yourself, like find a masterminds, find the conferences, get mentored, right?
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: Because if this is your first time having money, you don't even know what it means.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: you don't even know how to let your money work for you like you got to save stack stack stack you have not arrived because the trips they can wait all that stuff can wait and understand life is precious and tomorrow ain't promise but if you just get and break it right now you've never been here and never experienced this this energy of life like yo don't just just pause just chill like you don't need to be overspinner
- 40:05[SPEAKER_00]: And it's funny because, you know, learn how to change your relationship with money too, right?
- 40:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: We're so used to be like, to work hard for more car, more hard, but learn how to make money work hard for you.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: And that's one of the things that I enjoy about books and storytelling is because the truth is if you do it one time, um,
- 40:30[SPEAKER_00]: It can make money for you over and over and over right if you set up the the the right the my systems when you look at the the legacy of Brian Johnson, what do you want that to be he served he lived.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: He helped a lot of people.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: He did the right thing.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: He was transparent and understand that as a man, he had his struggles, but he got to a point in life where he finally became the man that he needed to be.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: Not only for himself, but for who God created him to be.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to talk back into something you said a second ago.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: Abundance is your birthright.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: not having a broke mindset to as well like or broke mentality so to speak like that can hinder you as well.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes I have that skip reveal mentality in mindset that I have to break away from like investing into myself like to really just scale and level up and every time I invest into myself.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: I make more money.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: And the truth of the matter is, every time I invest into myself, my price goes up to as well.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the key.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yo, if I just invested $10,000 into myself for a coaching, like, okay, because I'm going from 60 to 70, and it's giving me the permission to do that.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 41:54[SPEAKER_01]: Because I'm learning to acquire new skill, but I think all that ties back into the legacy of Brian.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Brian is...
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: is always learning.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: Brian realizes that he has a true gift, right?
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: And he has not tapped into the true essence of what God has created him to do because
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: he took the longer route to get here, right?
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: There was a lot of things of self-sabotage living in the world that I really had to turn around the last three to four years that shaped me to be a completely different man than I am today.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_00]: If you talk about self-sabotage, and
- 42:30[SPEAKER_00]: I hear this word a lot, like in pasta syndrome, yeah.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: With people be like, oh, I feel like I have a pasta syndrome.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: How does one overcome that?
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like where is that coming from and how does one overcome it?
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's fear, it's false evidence appearing real, right?
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's something deep buried within.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: It could be a traumatic response, something that's unresolved, right?
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: It can be paralysis analysis.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: It can be you comparing yourself.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: It could be the shiny object syndrome.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: It could be you having all these distractions in life and not necessarily like we got too many comparisons, right?
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like we comparing ourselves so much with social media.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that,
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: That changes our posture, what we become impostered.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like we are not necessarily imposing on the true aspects of life for what we should be doing.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: So I think people really got it looking to mirror and ask themselves in the dress they truth, right?
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think a lot of us are truly looking in the mirror and addressing ourselves like that starting with the man in the mirror is the truth, you know what I mean?
- 43:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_00]: Can someone be successful without sharing their story?
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: It depends on what your definition of success is.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like what's the definition of success?
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: So we talk about monetarily, financially.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's not going to share their story, right?
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: What I think is human beings, we do each other to serve as if we don't share our story.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you go through something or you grow through something, like you got an obligation and I don't want to be the person that's just like
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: trying to sell you to share your story.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I know what my experience and what my client's experience is.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: Sharing their story and the results that they get.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: I got a client right now who told his story.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: He since in the last year has partnered into three different startups.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: He got sweat equity into that.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's speaking on stages.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: His videos are getting millions and millions of views.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's coaching clients and it's all from him sharing his story.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I know the power of sharing your story and what that means is how I can really change your life and to make you successful.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, and so paying the picture for me, right?
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like somebody listening right now, you know, high-level entrepreneur or, you know, professional, they want to build a six or seven figure business from their story.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_00]: What is their first step?
- 44:50[SPEAKER_00]: Where do you start it?
- 44:51[SPEAKER_01]: Well, number one, you can reach out to Asha, or me, you know, a book-race-propice club.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: You want to start there, you know what I'm saying?
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think one of the true elements of getting started with your story if you want to be successful is you have to accept that this is something that you're going to step into and you heard me talk about this a lot.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like this is not you just selling a book.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: It really has to become your mission.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: Abundance is your birthright is your mission.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's a part of your mission, should I say, right?
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: Leave your dreams out loud is a mission for me.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand like they're different elements that I can create within that to share my story to really monetize that in scale at a high level.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I love it because I love that because when you think about it to your point is abundance is your birthright is my mission.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_00]: I want to recite it.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_00]: So whether it is for me as an individual to live in abundance, right?
- 45:43[SPEAKER_00]: Because I believe that my only way to prove God is to be greatness, right?
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: G.O.D.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: greatness on this play.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_00]: And so to prove God means that I have to be the greatest that I could possibly be, and so I need to be living in abundance, and when you tie it back to every single thing I do, it's proven that abundance is a birthright, and I want the underdog, you know, I help the formerly incarcerated, the people that I help.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_00]: I almost want you to see God in you and I want you to amplify your voice and kind of help, you know, get to the next level.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_00]: What would you say is the biggest mistake authors make when trying to, you know, share their story.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: The biggest mistake that they make is not sharing their story.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know, not giving themselves permission to fully just share the things that truly matter, right?
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the thing, if you're sharing your story, you gotta connect it, remember I said earlier, this is not dear diary.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: What is about what parts of your story matter that's gonna resonate with the audience for you to be able to either teach on that, coach on that, speak on that,
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: Right, and so when you don't have the proper the proper formula or context of how to go about doing that like you do yourself a disservice for sure You know what I'm saying so I think I think that's yeah, I think that's what it is.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_00]: No, I love it.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_00]: Love it.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_00]: I was was next for Brian Johnson
- 47:16[SPEAKER_01]: Man, Brian Johnson is a teetering on the line of a lot of stuff.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like you hear me talk about my faith is important to me.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I do a Bible study every morning at 5.30 with a bunch of then 35, 40 years, 50s or 60 year old men who some have been incarcerated.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: Some, you know, Mary, some single.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_01]: And for me, man, I'm just leaning more into my faith and trying to figure out what exactly that is.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's a lot of things personally.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: I've changed in my life for the better.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: Great, a good of me.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I just want to challenge, you know, men, you watching this, man, like, listen, this is the most opportune time for us.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_01]: to truly become the best versions of ourselves.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: Eventually, physically and emotionally, financially, like I'm in a place in life right now while I'm like, bro, you really have the chance and opportunity at 42.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_01]: Nokia has never been married just like in.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_01]: just go in right and like that starts with having a foundation spiritual foundation for me and like the world is my orchard like there's a lot you know i'm saying like i'm scaling my businesses i'm scaling my body i'm scaling my mind like i'm scaling a lot right now but just truly being intentionally man why just just helping and serving as best as i can
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: And it's okay to say, like, you don't know.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't know something, like it's okay because men at the end of the day, bro, I am truly living the dream.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm not supposed to be in the places where I am.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm truly living this dream, bro.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_00]: How are there any moments where were you like?
- 48:48[SPEAKER_00]: And like, you're almost this person.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like, like, like, I've seen, like, your pitch-a-list.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, like, you've been with,
- 48:56[SPEAKER_00]: a lot of celebrities, right?
- 48:58[SPEAKER_00]: And like, you know, are there those moments like, yo, I'm playing Johnson from Alabama from the, you know what I mean?
- 49:07[SPEAKER_00]: Just skip a video.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, skip a video.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like, skip a video.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there was those moments, man.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like, in the moments of spending a whole day working with Prince.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and he would talk to nobody else, and the producer came up to him, trying to talk to him.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_01]: The producer would have to talk to me, and then I would relate the message to him.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like he wouldn't even hear them, right?
- 49:27[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't have my phone out around him.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: There was a certain knock that I had to, you know, on his dressing room, you know what I'm saying?
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: So when his moments like that, when his moments when you grow up watching coming to America, and then you wit our senior hauling, you wit Eddie Murphy, you know what I'm saying?
- 49:44[SPEAKER_01]: But I think even Tala Perry, and then there's just like people who you meet whose presence, like when you meet when you in the presence of Oprah, it's a different energy.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: When you in the presence of Jay-Z, like it's a different energy.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: You just feel that.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm careful these days in the older version of me, like not to idolize these people to it as well.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like I got a lot of respect for.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: And like to me now, like,
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: they should look, they should be lucky to be in the room with me.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, for sure.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not about comparisons.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's not about ego, it's just like, yo, I've arrived at a state mentally, why understand who I am, too, as well.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_00]: No, honestly though, and I would love to kind of get your thoughts on this, because I agree with that in my recent year.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say, since I, you know, like after COVID, I would say, prior to COVID, and I'm not afraid to share this, is that I did like idolize people like that.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_00]: There were people that I was like, oh, if I haven't met this person, or man, like I was put people on pedestals,
- 50:54[SPEAKER_00]: having, you know, this show is one of the things that kind of helped me in that, but having access to celebrities and famous people with things in that nature, I guess the closer I got, the more I realized they were just like me, one note, one note different, but truthfully,
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: there's some people I met that I was disappointed that I met that and what does make no.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_00]: Because I watched these people for a very long time and I made up a story in my head how they were in in real life.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, this is their personality and so when they don't live up to my expectation of what their personality is, it is one of the most disappointing
- 51:45[SPEAKER_00]: feelings in the world to the point where I'm like, you know what, that's everybody, like I don't even, like even the people like you said Oprah, I think Jay Z and Oprah are the top two people that I'm hoping, like I've met, I've met Jay one time, but it wasn't like, he was like, he wasn't like yo with some hands hands, it was like, you know what I mean?
- 52:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like real quick, right?
- 52:08[SPEAKER_00]: So Jay, I met, but I don't even think he wasn't even a memorable time.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even think he would
- 52:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I still want to meet Jay, like I want to meet him, Oprah's same thing.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_00]: But in a way, I'm like, uh, like I would hate to meet them and they're not who I thought they were.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_00]: So you know what I mean?
- 52:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I've had the opportunity to even meet some of my heroes.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like people that I thought were like, I wanted to be my heroes.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I won't say names, but there was one in particular that
- 52:42[SPEAKER_00]: Um, like a business hero like I love this man like I and you've met him too.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'll see you in a picture with him too I had a picture with him too, but I better say who but um, I like it's my business hero But when I met him I don't know for some reason.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason I don't know for some reason.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some reason.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for some
- 53:09[SPEAKER_01]: are there those moments for you like do you have people that you met that you like kind of put on this pedestal you like yo got it yeah bro come on bro like I say a lot of people in Hollywood they act in you know what I'm saying and not just Hollywood but I think people in general are that way but I think we have to get people grace because I have truly seen
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: celebrities deal with so much just like we as people deal with so much behind the scenes you don't know what that person is dealing with.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: So you know you place that expectation on them and when they didn't meet your expectation what does that say about you?
- 53:43[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 53:43[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 53:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like it has nothing to do with them You know what I mean?
- 53:46[SPEAKER_01]: But you know you don't know nothing that's going on in their life right and we just like
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I can tell you, I've worked with hundreds of celebrities and I know I've seen people come on a set, be pissed off, be mad, you know, and then they go in a dress room, they yelling that they publishes, they yelling at the agent, something, then go out, then they got to come out and put on a front for the camera and step into that, you know what I'm saying, but I've also seen people like Will Smith,
- 54:12[SPEAKER_01]: who comes on the set, as soon as he gets out of his car, he's going around the whole entire lot, shaking everybody's hand, looking everybody in the face, saying thank you so much for working with you and all this and that, you know what I'm saying?
- 54:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I, in my job, but what I did, I was the first person that the celebrity would see, and I was the last person that they would see.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 54:32[SPEAKER_01]: So that first impression, just seeing them throughout the course of the day, and also too, when we talk about storytelling, like that temperament of just learning how to deal with people, like taught me a very valuable skill, like you just never know what people have going on, but everybody is living their story, like every single day.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 54:51[SPEAKER_01]: And so for me, I've just been able to just pick up a little things to be able to share and tell that man.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you had the opportunity to do anything different in your career, would you?
- 55:03[SPEAKER_00]: And what would that be?
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would have when I moved to LA, I wouldn't have drank and I wouldn't have been chasing women.
