- 0:01Good morning everyone, welcome back to unlocking the Paradigm
- 0:04portal. My name is Sarah.
- 0:05So I've decided this week to do an episode every single day
- 0:09because I am so enjoying working with everyone on returning to
- 0:14that inner child and remembering who you are before that wound
- 0:18installed itself. So yesterday we talked about the
- 0:22unworthy wound, the one that took your matches and convinced
- 0:25you the fire had to earn its right to burn.
- 0:28Well, today we're talking about the unlovable wound.
- 0:31And if you remember the last unlovable episode, I think I
- 0:35recorded it 18 times. And so far I'm on take number
- 0:39six, I think, as I keep stumbling, fumbling and getting
- 0:43choked up because if you remember that episode, this was
- 0:46a brutal one for me. Apparently it still wants to
- 0:49poke at me. So before we get into this, I
- 0:54want to be really clear about something.
- 0:56We are not moving in. We are not setting up camp.
- 0:59We're going to name it, recognize it, and then spend the
- 1:02rest of this episode remembering who you were before it showed
- 1:05up. OK?
- 1:07Because that's where the real work is, not in the wound, in
- 1:10the light on the other side of it.
- 1:13So the unlovable wound says even if I do everything right, even
- 1:18if I give everything I have, when they finally see the real
- 1:21me, they will leave. So you give endlessly,
- 1:25generously, beautifully. You pour into people like an
- 1:28open bottom vessel, because as long as you're the one pouring
- 1:31out, nobody looks too closely at what's inside.
- 1:35The giving feels like love, and it is love, but it's also armor.
- 1:40You choose people who are just out of reach, emotionally
- 1:43unavailable, perhaps almost there, but never fully present.
- 1:48And it's not because you're broken.
- 1:50It's because the wound is smart. Someone who can't fully show up
- 1:54means you never have to fully show up either.
- 1:58You get the connection without the exposure.
- 2:00You get to love deeply without ever standing in the full light
- 2:03and finding out if the real you is worth staying for.
- 2:07Someone offers you real love and you deflect it.
- 2:10You might minimize it or wait for it to be taken back.
- 2:14Hell, you might run from it. And receiving feels more
- 2:17dangerous than giving, because giving is something you can
- 2:20control. Receiving means standing still
- 2:23and being seen. And that's the wound.
- 2:26That's what it looks like. And now we're done talking about
- 2:29it. Because here's what I actually
- 2:31want you to think about today. Before the unlovable wound
- 2:35needed to exist, before anyone taught you that being fully seen
- 2:39was a risk that part of you didn't calculate.
- 2:42It didn't assess whether someone was safe enough to love, and it
- 2:46didn't choose the unavailable one because the available one
- 2:49was too dangerous. And it didn't keep the fire
- 2:52small so nobody would walk away from the heat.
- 2:55It just ran toward love, wide open, arms out, fire burning at
- 3:01full height. No containment strategy, no
- 3:04armor, no exit plan. If you have a small child in
- 3:08your life in some way, think about that moment when that kid
- 3:12comes launching at you, laughing hysterically, wrapping
- 3:16themselves around you. That part of you is still inside
- 3:20of you, and that part of you it loved because it was built to
- 3:24love, and it expected to be loved back.
- 3:28Not because it performed correctly, and not because it
- 3:31gave enough, and not because it made itself useful or palatable
- 3:35or easy. Because it existed.
- 3:38Because it was here, and because that was enough.
- 3:42Do you remember that? Even a ghost of it, like a tiny
- 3:46wisp, The version of you that didn't edit before speaking,
- 3:51that didn't manage how much of themselves came into the room,
- 3:54that didn't pour into empty vessels to avoid the terrifying
- 3:58possibility of a full one. That version of you is not gone.
- 4:03It is not something you outgrew or left behind or lost the right
- 4:06to be. It just went quiet because quiet
- 4:10felt safer than standing in the light and finding out the answer
- 4:13was no. But it has been in there this
- 4:16entire time, sitting by the fire, wanting someone to come
- 4:20and stay, building walls to keep the bucket throwers out while
- 4:24quietly, desperately hoping that someone safe would find their
- 4:28way through anyway. The wound didn't take your
- 4:32capacity to love. It took your willingness to be
- 4:36loved back. And those are not the same
- 4:39thing. That part of you knew something
- 4:42the wound has been trying to bury for years.
- 4:46Your fire, the full, unedited, unmanaged version of it, is not
- 4:50too much. It is not the thing that drives
- 4:53people away. It is the most magnetic, most
- 4:57alive, most real thing about you.
- 5:00And the right people don't walk away from it.
- 5:03They pull their chair closer. The wound convinced you to keep
- 5:08it small and keep it contained and let people see the glow but
- 5:12not the heat. Pour it into fireplaces full of
- 5:16ash so it never had a real chance to catch and therefore
- 5:21never had a real chance to be rejected.
- 5:25But a fire kept permanently small to avoid rejection isn't
- 5:28safe. It's suffocating.
- 5:31And that part of you, the one that was built to love wide
- 5:34open, has been suffocating for a long time.
- 5:39What would it feel like to let it breathe?
- 5:42Not all at once, not in front of everyone.
- 5:44Just a little more than yesterday, maybe a little less
- 5:48managed, a little less edited. What would you say if you
- 5:52stopped performing the acceptable version and just said
- 5:56the true thing? What would you reach for if you
- 5:59stopped choosing the ash filled fireplace and let yourself want
- 6:04a real 1? The answer to those questions?
- 6:07That's who you were before the wound.
- 6:10That's who you still are underneath it.
- 6:12And that's exactly who has been waiting for you to come back.
- 6:17You start by letting love land. This is how you come back.
- 6:22Not in a big dramatic way. Something small someone says,
- 6:26something kind and instead of deflecting it, you just let it
- 6:29in. Two seconds. 5 seconds.
- 6:32You feel the discomfort of being seen positively, and you don't
- 6:37immediately neutralize it. That discomfort is not a sign
- 6:41you're doing it wrong. That's the wound loosening.
- 6:45That's exactly what right feels like when you've been running on
- 6:48wrong for a long time. Then you notice the fireplaces.
- 6:53Where are you pouring your love, your time, your energy right
- 6:57now? Is it landing somewhere that can
- 7:00hold it, or are you giving it to people in situations that are
- 7:04fundamentally unavailable and wondering why you feel so empty
- 7:09when you've been giving so much? You don't have to blow anything
- 7:13up, just notice. Just get honest and slowly with
- 7:18the people who have shown up consistently, who have sat near
- 7:22your fire and left it burning. Let them a little closer.
- 7:27And then the most important one, the one that requires the most
- 7:30from you, talk to that part of you that's been sitting by the
- 7:34fire alone, the one that's been wanting company for so long it
- 7:39almost stopped believing company was possible.
- 7:43Talk to that inner child and tell it the right people.
- 7:46Don't put the fire out. And I'm going to start finding
- 7:50them. And tell it you were never too
- 7:53much, you were just too much for the wrong ones.
- 7:57And tell it I'm coming back and this time I'm not choosing the
- 8:02ash. You were lovable before the
- 8:05wound convinced you otherwise. You are lovable now.
- 8:10Not the performance, not the managed version, not the one who
- 8:13gives everything and takes nothing.
- 8:15You the full fire exactly as it burns.
- 8:20The unlovable wound lied to you. It told you the real you was the
- 8:25risk, that the full fire was the thing that drove people away.
- 8:29But that part of you, the one that ran toward love wide open
- 8:34before it learned to calculate, that was never the problem.
- 8:38That was always the gift. That was your gift.
- 8:42So stop choosing fireplaces full of ash.
- 8:46Let love land. Come back to the part of you
- 8:49that was built to burn fully and love freely and exist without
- 8:53apology. It's been waiting and it is so
- 8:57ready for you to come home. So keep kicking ass on this
- 9:02lovely Tuesday and I'll be back tomorrow and that one we're
- 9:06going into the safe wound. Leave me some comments like
- 9:09share, subscribe, hype, whatever.
- 9:11All of the things just keep coming back and keep growing and
- 9:15keep tending to your fire and I'll see you tomorrow.
