  so we ended the last time with Hancock, you know, turning that

  entire ship of people to stone, except for that one captain because he shoved

  a sword through his hand. When we come back here, she is entering

  the city with a ticker tape parade is basically what it amounts to. And

  all of the ladies who are her hangers on are really feeling themselves with the

  just you know what do they call that, like reflected fame. Just being

  around the person who is such a badass is enough to completely rub off on
• 3:47
  you. Sarah him says quick thing from last one piece about how the celestial

  dragon stay in power by having a few of them that are actually competent at

  this whole running an authoritarian dictatorship, and all but name thing and the rest

  are just a bunch of spoiled trust fund babies who can tell an admiral to

  blow up your entire village if you tell them no, gotcha? Okay,

  So these The thing that I really enjoy about Hancock, and the fact that
• 4:20
  she's supposed to be like such an exceptional beauty, is simply the fact that
• 4:25
  she because Oda apparently only knows a couple types of female faces. She pretty
• 4:32
  much just looks like every other woman character we have ever seen, really,
• 4:40
  So there's there's that, but I also really enjoy how she I can't tell
• 4:46
  at times whether she is playing up that she's upset or if she's really upset.

  There are times where I'm certain she's playing it up for audience sympathy,
• 5:00
  and I mean audience in terms of like the other women who are watching,
• 5:02
  not us, the audience, because you know, she knows that if somebody
• 5:09
  hurts her feelings and they admire her so much, they will all take it
• 5:12
  as personally. But I don't know if that's always what's happening, or if
• 5:18
  it's only occasionally when it's super dramatic that it's not sincere and the rest of
• 5:25
  the time, you know what I'm saying, creep me. I'm gonna move
• 5:28
  my mic here. Guys, sorry about that. So anyway, they've been
• 5:33
  away for a little while, and that's part of why the crowd is like
• 5:38
  so excited for her to be back. When she turns and looks at them,
• 5:44
  one of the girls says she was smiling at me, and another woman
• 5:46
  starts getting jealous and angry and says, no, she was smiling at me.
• 5:51
  And there's something like I can't decide how I feel about this, you
• 6:00
  guys, because so I have such complicated feelings about it, you guys know
• 6:10
  how I was sort of baffled at the fact that we've got this badass all
• 6:15
  women, you know, society. But then the woman who runs things,
• 6:20
  her main superpower is just that she's like gorgeous, like she has a love
• 6:27
  love beam, but it feels very secondary, should be honest, like she
• 6:30
  uses her devil fruit power when her main hotness power doesn't do the trick,
• 6:36
  or when she just wants, like you know, to be extra mean.
• 6:41
  So a little bit like still weirded out by that. And then the fact
• 6:48
  that like all of the women are reacting to her in the way that high
• 6:54
  school boys would react to her, and it really does feel like a sexual
• 7:00
  attraction. It's not you know, it may not be, but it I
• 7:06
  can't tell if it's simply the way that she is when these women are looking
• 7:16
  at her getting jealous, so she smiled at me, not at you.

  That is not an inherently sexual thing. And when they're like, oh my
• 7:26
  god, she's so beautiful that is not an inherently sexual thing, and so
• 7:33
  all of it together even though technically it isn't because this is not a show
• 7:42
  where there's like, there's very rarely a dude who's straight up just as like
• 7:49
  nice tits basically, and there aren't any men here except for Lofy at the
• 7:59
  moment, so we've only got these women who are using it feels like much
• 8:05
  more innocent language. I can't tell if it's genuinely supposed to be a simple
• 8:11
  admiration that is platonic in nature, or if because this is an all woman's
• 8:20
  society, it is just you know, accepted that women are going to have
• 8:26
  romantic relationships with one another, and they are interested in her sexually and romantically,
• 8:33
  Like I can't because you know, they're oda. I don't think is
• 8:37
  going to like get into that necessarily. But I am assuming that he had
• 8:41
  an idea in his head when he did it. And the women occasionally come
• 8:46
  back with child, so it's not like they're all heterosexual or they're all homosexual
• 8:52
  or hetero. I'm guessing that there's kind of a mix here. But what
• 8:58
  I'm what I'm kind of getting at is I can't decide how I feel about
• 9:07
  all of the dialogue that isn't her. Her sisters are loofy, just constantly
• 9:15
  being about how stunning she is and how much everybody wants to be just like
• 9:20
  her. There is something about this that bums me out a little bit,
• 9:26
  beyond just the fact that it's all solely based on her appearance. And I
• 9:31
  think what it is is that it's like making this society feel really foolish instead
• 9:39
  of empowered. It's like they're all complete slaves to her. And I was
• 9:46
  enjoying the concept of them having autonomy, but now it turns out they kind
• 9:54
  of don't, you know, and they're ruled by this like tyrannical woman who
• 9:58
  will just turn you into stone for basically no reason if she feels like it.

  And I wanted to be like into this, and now there's all of
• 10:09
  these little asterisks that make me kind of pull back and go, oh,
• 10:11
  that's too bad. I think that's where it's really coming from for me.

  You know, I got kind of stoked, and then it feels like a
• 10:22
  bit of a joke in the end, and I'm just I think I'm just
• 10:28
  a little disappointed. I'm not, like, you know, accusing anybody or
• 10:31
  anything. And I'm not blaming Oda, like, I'm not saying it's bad
• 10:35
  writing. I think I just had a sort of expectation and I didn't get
• 10:43
  what I was expecting without even putting words to the fact that I expected it
• 10:48
  to begin with. So I'm finding myself disappointed that I didn't get the thing
• 10:52
  I was imagining. And that's always a tricky place to be when you are
• 10:58
  talking about fiction and you hit a place where something doesn't go the way you
• 11:03
  expected and you have a bad reaction. It's like, just because somebody didn't
• 11:07
  do what you specifically wanted doesn't mean it's a bad direction. It's just that
• 11:11
  you didn't get your way, So stop being a little brat. So I'm
• 11:15
  gonna try and take my own advice and stop being a little brat. But
• 11:18
  I did want to put words to the fact that the leader being like having
• 11:26
  a power based on her looks and all of these women sort of being in
• 11:31
  thrall to her solely because of that, it really almost completely erases the empowering
• 11:41
  aspect that I was enjoying about this location. So that's that. So,
• 11:50
  yeah, she's talking to one of her inferiors, and it is like,
• 11:54
  is there anything to report? And this girl, she does not know how
• 12:00
  to lie. She does a whole like you know, glance from side to
• 12:03
  side. No, No, everything's fine. And understandably, Hancock is sort
• 12:07
  of like, mmmm, that's not convincing me. But okay, I'm gonna

  let it go for now. We have a woman who's doing the accounting.

  I will say, considering, I just sort of like made fun of the
• 12:22
  fact that all of the women have looked really similar. I think because this
• 12:28
  is an all woman community, he has been forced to like push himself a
• 12:31
  little bit more. And this lady looks like I can't tell if she's got
• 12:35
  gray hair or if it's just meant to be like glossy, but she looks
• 12:39
  like she's sort of older, and she's got glasses on, and she's the
• 12:43
  one doing the accounting and everything, and I was thinking, like, you
• 12:46
  know, this looks like more of a real person than his women characters tend
• 12:50
  to look so they're, you know, the queen princess. They call her
• 13:01
  the snake princess. But why is she a princess and not a queen?
• 13:07
  What is the deal with that? I don't know if we ever find this
• 13:11
  out, or if it's just like snake Princess sounded cooler than snake queen,
• 13:16
  which yeah, I guess so serpent Queen for me is better than snake Princess.
• 13:20
  But you know, I'll do what we do. But I just keep
• 13:24
  sort of not calling her by princess because she is so very clearly in charge
• 13:31
  that I don't know who it is she is supposed to be reporting to,
• 13:35
  or the daughter of. So we get a little bit of a look at
• 13:39
  her personality here. This is so funny. She's coming into her throne room
• 13:46
  and there are all of these gifts that they have been waiting to present her
• 13:52
  with, and the first one is this gorgeous emerald that is just, you
• 14:00
  know, really stunning, and all of the women when they see it are
• 14:03
  doing an heart eyes thing. And then she tosses it over her shoulder and
• 14:09
  she says, a gaudy jewel like that would be an unsightly blemish upon my
• 14:15
  beauty. And then she gets shown this like clay straw statue of her.
• 14:26
  The children of the village lovingly crafted a statue of your likeness out of clay
• 14:31
  as a gift. It's endearing. How much love and labor they poured into
• 14:37
  its creation. Now, you know, I'm pretty sure we all knew how
• 14:43
  this was gonna go, right, because like, it's as attractive as a
• 14:48
  statue made of clay by children is going to be, which is to say
• 14:54
  it's not bad, but it's not her and she like destroys it and basically
• 15:05
  tells them to get it the fuck out of her face. It's quite a
• 15:09
  dramatic reaction, and they really milk the moment where she's looking at it and
• 15:15
  says it's me and it seems like she's pleased, but then she shoves it
• 15:20
  to the ground and she says, don't bring such filth into my castle.
• 15:26
  It's inelegant. Throw it away at once and clean the floor. So this
• 15:33
  is obviously meant for us to get a feel of who she is. But
• 15:41
  the thing is, I feel like we already did with her kicking the kitten,
• 15:46
  the literally kicking of the kitten, And all I could think in this
• 15:52
  scene was I already know how she's going to react. And these women like
• 15:58
  allegedly worship her and know her really well and see her all the time,
• 16:02
  and they are all totally shocked by the reaction she has to everything, which
• 16:07
  I had to sort of remind myself that the entire bit is supposed to be
• 16:15
  I can do whatever horrible thing and everybody will forgive me because I'm so beautiful,
• 16:21
  and so that is evidently what we're doing is we're going to have her
• 16:27
  be like completely awful, and the people love her so much simply because of
• 16:37
  how she looks that they make themselves forget how terrible she is in between seeing
• 16:45
  her and just do a thing that they know would please a normal person because
• 16:51
  they forget that she's a fucking maniac, and then are surprised anew at how
• 17:00
  awful she is every time she does an awful thing, but then like almost
• 17:03
  immediately talk themselves out of being upset by her, which I guess, you
• 17:17
  know what I'm saying it. I don't know. It was a little bit
• 17:18
  weak to me. I'm just I don't know. Saraphim Is in the chat

  says it does seem like the ones who haven't left the island as part of
• 17:27
  the Kuja Pirates are kind of innocent about the idea of sex. Yeah.

  Her official title is Empress of Amazon. Lily Snake Princess seems to be more

  of a moniker like straw hat lofy Okay, because I think I called her
• 17:41
  empress at one point because I remembered somebody using that word, and then I
• 17:45
  didn't see that word again, and I was like, did I make that
• 17:48
  up? So I stopped using it. But she's really just more of an
• 17:52
  empress than a princess, So I'm just going to kind of keep calling her
• 17:55
  empress if you guys are cool with it, because that's the way that I'm
• 17:56
  remembering her. But yeah, So she asks where all of the guards are
• 18:04
  on the walls and why the place is totally undefended, and the woman who's
• 18:10
  sort of her assistant I asked, is like, oh, there was a
• 18:12
  wild animal or something that was so fierce that everybody left to go hunt it.
• 18:17
  And it's a very lame story. Of course, the Empress is immediately
• 18:21
  like that's not anything. I don't buy it. And then we transition right
• 18:26
  over to Lufy, who is swinging through the forest using his rubber abilities,
• 18:33
  and he gets shot out of the air with an arrow from one of the
• 18:40
  amazons. He sinks like a stone, and since they want him to die,
• 18:45
  I was like, well he would have to. Somebody would have to
• 18:48
  save him, and neither of them or I say neither, there's more than
• 18:53
  two of them. None of them look like they are at all inclined to
• 18:56
  jump in, So what the hell is going to have happened? And then
• 19:00
  a fish leaps out of the water and loofy is like hooked on its pack,
• 19:06
  and I was like, oh, okay, that's on way to do
• 19:07
  it, I suppose. So we have Hancock sitting down on a thrown mate
• 19:15
  out of her snake, which is sort of a you know. The thing
• 19:21
  about this snake, you guys, is that it's got this sort of coral
• 19:27
  pink coloring that's very splotchy in a pattern that reminds me of like usually the
• 19:33
  black and white of a cow would be like this, but it's this weird
• 19:37
  pink with a yellowish underbelly, and it's wearing what looks to be a sort
• 19:45
  of helmet with a skull that has like horns on it, again kind of
• 19:53
  like a cow, but has blue hair hanging off it. And the tip
• 20:00
  of the snake's nose is pink in such a shade that altogether it gives the
• 20:08
  look of a pink and white snake with a clown's head, because that spot
• 20:15
  on its nose looks like a clown nose, and then the like fluffy blue
• 20:18
  hair. It really keeps throwing me off. This snake is supposed to be,
• 20:26
  you know, the sort of spirit animal, for lack of a better
• 20:30
  way of saying this, of this astonishingly beautiful woman, but then it has
• 20:37
  what feels like the face of an actual clown, and I keep being tripped
• 20:41
  up at the fact that she would allow her snake to look like that,
• 20:47
  because it just doesn't quite feel on brand to me. So this is when
• 20:53
  the granny comes in and she is It's interesting because it's not like she isn't
• 21:03
  intimidated by the snake princess. She's sweating doing this, but she decides that
• 21:07
  she is going to put up more of a fight because you know, the
• 21:12
  Hancock is just like, get her out of here immediately and isn't even going
• 21:18
  to let her have her say. So, finally, please listen, I
• 21:25
  have just learned that there's a ship from Central anchored off our shores. They've
• 21:29
  come here with the express purpose of summoning you, have they not the Central
• 21:33
  government has ordered you into active duty. And she's like, yeah, they
• 21:38
  want to go to war, and she says, well, then why are
• 21:41
  you here. You have to go. You have to uphold the agreement or
• 21:45
  they'll revoke your title. And you've just returned, but you must still have
• 21:52
  the strength to fight. And this is when she says, I do,
• 21:57
  but I'm afraid go and Granny gets overwhelmed. Awe, She's like a little
• 22:06
  puppy, and I was like, oh, we haven't seen this aspect of
• 22:11
  it. She immediately like kind of swipes it off and says, I'm not
• 22:15
  falling for that, but it really almost worked. And she says, all
• 22:21
  that is truly protecting our nation is your title as warlord. Our greatest terrence
• 22:26
  from outside forces is Amazon Lily's location in the Calm Belt. As time marches
• 22:36
  forward, so does technology, and now these central dwellers have ships that provide
• 22:41
  them with safe passage. So basically she's like, you really need to do
• 22:48
  something because this is an unsustainable situation. You know, our pirates they've been
• 22:59
  very tough, and that's great, but our island has children and elderly people
• 23:04
  who aren't fighters, and if you lose your title, this whole place would
• 23:11
  just be a giant target and they would completely devastate us. And the Empress
• 23:22
  is like, listen, I really don't know how to tell you this,
• 23:26
  but I can't emphasize enough how little I give a shit about any of what
• 23:36
  you're saying. And this little woman she has pulled out like a crystal ball
• 23:42
  and is going around it going no, that's like her lull, you know.
• 23:48
  And she swipes her like brush over it and turns around, and the
• 23:55
  ball says, go is what the translation says, and of course, of
• 24:02
  course the Empress is just like, that is such horseshit. You just decided
• 24:08
  what you want me to do, and you just painted it on the crystal
• 24:11
  ball. And you think that I'm going to listen to you for real,
• 24:15
  that's what you think is going to work. Get the hell out of here.

  I let you have your say, and you acted like I was a
• 24:22
  fucking five year old that you needed to trick into, like knock it off.

  And she says, your rain acted. It was over three decades ago.

  How dare you act like you were still the Empress? And I couldn't

  tell if they were related because there I don't feel like they are. It's
• 24:48
  like it seems like there's another way that they choose rulers here. But I

  love when they say she looks down on people so much that she looks why

  should I listen to the word of a disgraced ruler who abandoned her people.

  And it turns out that's why this lady is like not living in the town
• 25:17
  center, and she doesn't have any real standing. She has just enough that
• 25:22
  they let her talk. But the Empress walks out there holding this woman by
• 25:30
  the hair. This lady is about the size of a purse, like it's
• 25:33
  really a big purse, granted, but nevertheless, So it ends with her
• 25:42
  thinking that Hancock is agreeing to go and saying, oh good, when will
• 25:49
  you be leaving? And Hancock says, never know your place, and then
• 25:56
  literally chucks this old woman out the window to fall looks like sixty feet,
• 26:03
  probably a fall that would absolutely kill her. But she turns around and does
• 26:08
  the whole oh, I did it by accident, and they're just like,
• 26:14
  of course it was an accident. We know it was of your fault.
• 26:15
  And I was just like, oh boy, oh boy. So I really
• 26:25
  don't know what to expect in terms of like long term plans from this woman,
• 26:30
  because she's like a complete monster I don't. I'm assuming she ages because
• 26:38
  this woman had used to be the ruler and she isn't anymore the granny,
• 26:44
  and I wonder if her power is going to remain at all potent for like
• 26:52
  another decade. I feel like this being what you depend on, you better
• 26:59
  have a backup plan. This is the thing about being like young and hot,
• 27:03
  is that you just kind of assume you'll always be this way, and
• 27:07
  that everybody who isn't still young and hot chose to not be young and chose
• 27:11
  to no longer be hot. And it's a it's a real awakening to realize,
• 27:18
  like it just sort of happens to you. So she really should kind
• 27:26
  of stop and think about once I'm not hot anymore and nobody likes me because
• 27:33
  I've done terrible things and they no longer just see a pretty face and forgive
• 27:37
  me. Who is going to be on my side? But she's not really
• 27:42
  a long term thinker, this one, not really at all. So I
• 27:47
  would love to know more about like the previous rulers, though, you know,
• 27:51
  we have this woman who she apparently is a traitor and that's why she
• 27:56
  living on the outskirts is like her penance as she puts it, but not
• 28:03
  only what did she do, but in general, like, how was this
• 28:07
  place founded? What happened? You know, where did this all begin?

  So anyway, old lady lands on her fucking feet because despite the fact that
• 28:19
  she is a old lady who doesn't need to be in the field anymore,
• 28:26
  she has not forgotten her tricks. And I love We go back to the
• 28:30
  Empress. She looks at her hand and says, I touched her? Is
• 28:34
  my bath ready yet? And I was just like, Wow, they're really
• 28:38
  just going all in with this hush. She's no better than a celestial dragon,
• 28:42
  like she's essentially one of them. So she goes to get into the
• 28:52
  tub. We have all of these like little moments with women outside, and
• 28:56
  again we get to see some interesting body types. There's a real bodybuilder type
• 29:02
  who's like solid muscle, and a couple of women who are like slightly softer
• 29:08
  looking, but they are also unfortunately being portrayed as sort of gluttons with the
• 29:14
  way they're eating. And I was just like, can we not? And
• 29:17
  they hear a call and they get brought to the like under the palace there's
• 29:23
  a sort of courtyard and everybody is being warned that the princess is going to
• 29:30
  be taking her bath and to be careful. Ron's I think is that her
• 29:41
  name Ron is the woman who's got the short black hair. That's one of
• 29:44
  the empresses like bodyguards. I don't know if this bodyguard is the right word,
• 29:49
  but she's definitely a groupie. And she comes up to this little girl
• 29:55
  and says, you know, you're not allowed past the barrier. And the
• 29:57
  little girl says, yeah, but why is it's such a big deal when
• 30:00
  she goes to take a bath. They act like we're going to war or
• 30:04
  something. And she says, well, if you're eight years old, I
• 30:11
  think you're old enough for me to tell you. And the little girl says
• 30:15
  the secret and she nods, but we don't get to see what it is.
• 30:22
  Lufy winds up falling through the ceiling of the bath house and he sees
• 30:29
  her back. Oh wait, no, I forgot she does tell her here
• 30:33
  the gorgon stalked the tides of the central Oceans. If anyone made the mistake
• 30:38
  of gazing upon this horrifying creature, they would be turned to stone. After
• 30:45
  facing countless perils along a treacherous journey, the snake princess and her sisters encountered
• 30:49
  the monster and managed to slay it. And I'm sort of like she seemed
• 30:56
  to be just mind in her own business. I don't know, why don't
• 30:57
  we Why don't we've got to do this? But the screams of the dying
• 31:02
  abomination were laced with evil, and it placed the sisters under a curse.
• 31:07
  The penetrating eyes of the monsters were etched across the flesh of the sisters backs,
• 31:11
  so they remain forever staring even today, and if anyone gazes upon these
• 31:18
  wicked eyes, their body will harden into stone and they'll die. And I'm
• 31:26
  not entirely sure why this is such a secret, like if they are worried
• 31:33
  that they're going to be used as weapons against somebody, But it's you know,
• 31:38
  the fact that this little girl is getting sort of inducted by being told
• 31:42
  this secret. It's clearly something like really important to them that nobody know about
• 31:47
  it, and I'm not entirely getting what that's about. But yeah, so
• 31:52
  we have an actual like she's naked shot of the Empress, like getting into
• 31:59
  her her bath, which I thought was a little bit more than the show
• 32:04
  usually does. But okay, when Lufy falls into it, there's a series
• 32:12
  of events that eventually lead to this happening. All the women are still like
• 32:15
  chasing him in the woods and he manages to climb up onto the wall,
• 32:22
  and he is thinking to himself that he's going to find a pirate ship and
• 32:28
  just like ask for a ride, or maybe he could steal a ship or
• 32:34
  and then eventually he says, well, whoever I have to ask is going
• 32:37
  to be important, so I should probably go to whoever is in the tallest
• 32:42
  building I could find, And that is how he decides on jumping through the
• 32:46
  roof and he spots what's on her back, But it's a whole thing where
• 32:53
  he winds up keeping the secret later spoilers because I am not supposed to have
• 32:58
  watched that episode yet, but he does. So he sees her. I
• 33:02

  a lot of short cuts that you can take, and I get why that

  when none of them are really used to seeing men around, the fact that

  is the granny, she says, Allowing a man on the island in the

  midst of this smacks of insolence. I've tried to hold my tongue, but

  frankly, I'm starting to worry about our future with her in charge. And

  I'm like, lady, you guys are the ones who brought this man onto

  the island. I don't get how you're turning around and saying that this is

  the Empress's fault when you were part of the group that revived him and then

  brought him into your village, Like, what are you talking about? It

  was so bizarre where she she just like completely divorces her own actions from the

  situation, And it felt like in the moment I was meant to take her

  seriously. It didn't feel like an in joke where we as the audience.

  No, she was part of this and she's just projecting. It really felt

  like I was supposed to be nodding my head and seeing like, oh,

  yeah, that this is part of what makes her such a bad ruler.

  And I was like, there's plenty of other awful things that make her a

  bad ruler and we don't need to Like this part doesn't even make sense.

  So anyway, they finally catch him and he gets put into a sort of

  situation where it's like a gladiator fight, except the people that he's fighting are

  her sisters who are like enormous badasses. And when he's asked like how he

  comes here and he just says, I just got basically smacked into the air.

  The queen does not want to hear it again. She's just like,

  you have to be here because you want something, And he's like, well,

  I could really use a ship, and if you could help me,

  in the audience are yelling about how he's obviously full of shit. The story

  doesn't hang together at all. There's something else that he is after. And

  meanwhile, the girl that he had met one on one for a little while

  it's sort of watching from the sidelines and has a really like she has clearly

  grown to like him and doesn't enjoy sitting there silent listening to everybody make up
• 41:49
  wild accusations based on nothing. It's like the Queen the Empress, just the
• 41:55
  fact that she doesn't want him here and is angry has somehow gotten into everybody's
• 42:05
  heads, and they've all decided that they're gonna, like not only agree with
• 42:10
  her, but they're gonna take the story she's telling and really run away with
• 42:15
  it. So the Empress essentially is like, first of all, you're wasting
• 42:22
  my time. Second of all, we are going to kill you. You're
• 42:27
  full of shit. I don't know why you're here and why you're lying,
• 42:30
  but it's obvious none of this is how it happened. And then the other
• 42:36
  woman jumps down and finally puts herself between him and the Empress, and she
• 42:43
  says, I know that he isn't lying. I know how this must sound,
• 42:49
  but I don't believe this man is the kind of person who can tell
• 42:52
  a lie. And that's a really interesting way to put it. But I
• 42:59
  think she's right. Lufy just isn't good at it. He doesn't lie.

  That's just not like it's not his instinct to do. You know, even
• 43:07
  when he has to lie, he just kind of can't. He's the last
• 43:12
  person that you want to ask to like play along. He doesn't know how

  to do it, so she says, I don't think he's capable of anything

  but childlike sincerity, which there's something really like rough about that. But anyway,

  Lufy is grateful, and the Empress is like, so, what's the

  deal? How do you know like who he is and why defend him at

  all? And her name is Margaret, that's right. Margaret decides that now

  is the time to confess that she is the one who brought this dude into

  the village. I don't know what she thought was going to happen. It

  seemed pretty clear to me that this uh Empress has one way of dealing with

  people. You know, she's not she's not really a woman of much imagination.

  So this very predictably ends with her getting turned to stone. And it's

  like this long drawn out you know, where we're like, oh, we're
• 44:32
  pleading for mercy. And the other people who helped her, the one woman
• 44:37
  who's like super muscular and the other woman who's giant, they both come out
• 44:42
  and like throw themselves at the Empress's feet, and she says The Empress says,
• 44:47
  I have a soft spot for hopelessly sincere people do you wish for my
• 44:53
  forgiveness, and of course Margaret says, I do. The Empress says,
• 45:00
  you may rise to your feet, and there's this like effect that they put
• 45:07
  on the screen where it's like the sun is shining down like God himself is
• 45:10
  smiling from the heavens. Her hair flutters in the breeze. There's almost a
• 45:16
  rainbow sort of cast to everything, like the light's refracting, And of course
• 45:22
  we have to go to the audience, and everybody talks about how incredibly beautiful
• 45:28
  and merciful and kind she is, and then she frowns and she uses her
• 45:34
  love love beam and she turns the group into stone, and nobody should have
• 45:40
  been surprised, but they were because nobody remembers that she's terrible. And it's
• 45:47
  kind of funny how everybody can really like these ladies but still really not seem
• 45:52
  to feel the Empress did anything wrong. Lufy, of course, does his
• 46:00
  usual turn them back. How dare you? And the Emperor sits down and
• 46:07
  says, I think it's time to release the bacula. And all of the
• 46:14
  women in the audience, oh my god, what I can't believe we're going
• 46:15
  to do that. So we have. Then the transition, she says,
• 46:24
  I'm going to allow you to have a death in battle instead of just being
• 46:30
  executed, so be grateful for that. Behind you stands the panther known as
• 46:37
  the Bacula. And basically I think that this is what that one lady tried
• 46:42
  to say, was like roaming the woods that all the guards went to hunt.

  It's really funny because like, if the panther just looked like a panther,
• 46:52
  it would be plenty intimidating, but instead it's a panther wearing a weird
• 47:00
  little metal helm with like studs around the edges, and it's just it's just
• 47:08
  silly looking, like it's just not you know, it's got fangs, drooling
• 47:14
  fangs and an angry face, and it's humongous and all of that, and
• 47:17
  like sure, but you add that hat and it just turns absurd like right

  away. And there's a little sort of something sticking up off the top of

  the hat that makes it look like the stem of a cherry or something.

  So anyway, we find out that this poor thing hasn't been fed in like

  three days. So when it attacks Lufy and he like punches the hell out

  of it, I once again, am like, why do we have to

  make animals part of this? I don't like it. I don't like it.

  This animal doesn't want to be here. It's being abused and mistreated and

  used as a weapon, and then my guy has to punch it. Nobody's

  winning here. This sucks. I do not like it. This is that

  poor cow wail or whatever. It was all over again. So Lufy,

  of course, then begins to sort of go off and be like, I

  can't believe what you did. And all of the women around the audience are

  just like, you shouldn't even be here, and I can't believe you're trying

  to give her orders. How dare you? It's just kind of more of

  the same thing. And she says again, I'll be forgiven for anything I

  do, absolutely anything, and the reason why is because I'm beautiful, and

  she tosses her hair and winks. The audience dissolves into complete heart emojis nothing

  but and again Lufy has no opinion. He says, you make me sick,

  and this is and she sort of puts her hand to her her throat

  and like leans back in despair. And this was the moment I meant when

  I was like, I can't tell when she's serious or not, because of

  course, when she says, oh, she went out the window by accident,

  like very clearly that's fake. But right here where she's like offended by
• 49:20
  him saying you make me sick. I thought she was faking. And then

  one of her sisters like says, stay strong, and she replies with this
• 49:30
  simply cannot be happening. And I was like, oh, she's genuinely upset.

  I thought she was like playing it up for the audience to get them
• 49:39
  to hate him more. But no, oh, Seraphim says, sweet Pea

  is the buff one, right, Afalandra is the tall one, and they

  went against the ruler that's on them. Look the thing about the stone,

  the turning into stone thing, there's a way to come back from that.

  You know, you can do a thing that it un turns everybody from stone

  back to people. It's a similar thing as like with the taking of the

  shadows. It's a dramatic thing to have happen, and it's creepy and scary,

  but you know, it's undoable, So I'm not that mad about it.

  It's just more like that was rude, you know. I like the

  way that this universe works where like you know, nobody's gonna die. Every

  power has to have like when you meet a Baddy like this where the plot

  moves sort of slower. Every Boddy's power has to be something that can be

  undone somehow, you know, and it must get a little tricky how to

  like create new powers that are undoable. But anyway, so yeah, she

  is uh looking down at Lucy and she says, so long as that man

  exists in this world, I will never know peace again. And then she

  sicks her sisters on him. So then we go to a difficult fight for

  Lufy the snake sister's hockey power. And this is a real like the gist

  of it is. I went into detail on the first two because I don't

  need to on this third one. All you need to know is that they

  fight and the sisters are able to completely dodge him. It's like the fight
• 51:40
  is barely anything. And I should mention that this third episode the recap of

  what happened in the last episode. It goes quite a ways into the new

  one. But anyway, I you know the whole It's kind of funny because

  he has met a few people now that the fight doesn't go the way he

  usually can expect it to. Like his his powers don't have the same power

  as usual, and they can dodge or they can just like put up a

  defense and completely stop the shot that he's about to take. All of it

  is he has, he has, I feel like, gotten to a place

  where he's run into enough folks who seem to be able to resist what he

  can do that it makes sense he has leveled up to the you know,

  third gear, second gear, but it's started. It's sort of surprising me

  that he isn't busting that out a little bit sooner, because he's trying his

  usual tricks and keeps being like, wow, that didn't do anything. And

  I know that in his universe, you know, I'm watching this as a

  viewer, and I'm like, well, we're obviously leveling up, and you've

  met people who can hold their own against you several times, you should know

  you're moving on to a different level entirely here. But I guess I can

  understand why he is still expecting to come to meet up with some other people

  who aren't super superpowers, you know. And it's just a sort of a

  weird, like the drawn out bit here of him yelling at the sisters and

  he this whole thing is sort of He is arguing with one of the sisters

  about how her power works because she is able to use I think she's got

  a devil fruit power and let's see here it is. Oh yeah, because

  he says, this is the same thing that happened with that axe guy.

  And he says, why are you feeding everybody the line about being gorgons?

  You guys like you have a whole other thing going on. How does this

  work? And oh, that's right, he says, I don't think he

  had devil fruit powers. Yeah, here it is. Why are you feeding

  people this gorgon crap? And she says, that's a secret one of my

  sisters and I will take to the grave with us, so don't bother asking.

  And she asks him if he knows how to use hockey, and that

  most outsiders don't seem to get it. I can see what you're about to

  do. And so he keeps kicking and she saying to kick, do it

  again, and she's able to dodge every single time, but he doesn't really

  change his approach. He keeps doing the same thing and is totally focused on

  her. So he doesn't notice the sister sneaking up behind him, and we
• 55:16
  have some pretty fun like you know, uses of his rubber power and hide
• 55:22
  like he's sort of the interesting thing about this fight is the way all the
• 55:29
  platforms are sort of set up under the dais where the throne is, so
• 55:36
  there's a lot of levels, and there's also a sort of pit that looks
• 55:39
  like it's got like spikes underneath, or there's I think there's another one also
• 55:44
  that has flames. I think they may have some varieties going on. So
• 55:49
  we've got some interest happening there. And then as well, one of the
• 55:53
  sisters scoops up the stone statue of Margaret and is threatening to break it,

  and she starts like tossing it into the air and catching it on her tail

  in a way that really, even if that weren't a person, it gives

  me anxiety. But you know, the thing that got to me the most

  here is the sister saying Margaret would agree that she deserves what she's getting,

  which I don't know if that's true, but I could believe it, I

  could, you know, And that's the part that hurts the most, is

  knowing that she might willingly participate in this where it's somebody else or buy into

  it even when it's her, And I really just like that sucked. I

  felt so bad for that. So this is when she is about to drop

  it on the ground and Lufy yells that's enough, and there's like a what's

  visually being sort of presented as a gust of wind. I don't think it

  actually is, but it blows past the sisters and all the way up the

  dais and like sends the Empress's hair flying backward, and she seems really stunned.

  There's a really bright light for a moment, and all of the women

  in the audience are like frozen in shock, and it seems like the sisters

  have like frozen in place basically. And what it turns out has happened is

  that Lufy used hockey. A bunch of the women in the audience begin to

  faint. And I had forgotten that this could be a side effect of the

  use of this, but those folks are just literally being knocked out by it.

  And I always talk about things that sort of remind me of the Cradle

  series, and this is something that happens in Cradle, Like you get to

  a high enough level of power, and simply using any of your stronger abilities

  without veiling your spirit causes enough pressure on people that they will pass out.

  If you use certain techniques that are deadly enough without shielding, you can kill

  bystanders by the sheer force of what you're directing at somebody else. It's just

  like a blowback effect. And so that was what this sort of reminded me

  of the fact that they're all fainting. But it's not like all all of
• 58:49
  them. It's I would say, probably like fifty percent of the audience.

  It seems like, depending on how strong they are personally with hockey, maybe

  they can tolerate more, you know. And then one of the sisters,

  she finally just lowers Margaret to the ground and puts her down. I was

  sort of worried if you freeze and then just like drop her, that could

  do some real damage. But she doesn't. She slowly puts her down with

  a real like effort to be gentle about it. And Lufy doesn't really seem

  to understand what just happened. He's just glad Margaret's okay. He comes in

  like knocks on the statue and is like, okay, good. She's not
• 59:35
  even cracked and all of like, the two sisters are still not moving.

  They're both I couldn't tell if they were just so shocked or if the hockey

  affected them in a different way because it was directed at them. But Sanders
