- 0:00Speaker 1: So we had the list. Oh, this is a list here.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I just love television so much. We had been talking
- 0:07Speaker 1: about the New York Times. This is really a fascinating list.
- 0:11Speaker 1: The 100 best TV shows of this century. Since 2000. Yeah,
- 0:16Speaker 1: of this century. And they didn't just do it arbitrarily.
- 0:20Speaker 1: They really tried to gather a lot of ballots from people.
- 0:26Speaker 1: actors and showrunners and TV producers and directors and all
- 0:30Speaker 1: of that. And, uh, the, the list is just masterfully
- 0:33Speaker 1: done and it gives you links to all the shows too.
- 0:37Speaker 1: If you want to watch, watch them. If you haven't
- 0:39Speaker 1: seen them, you think, Oh, I'd like to see that.
- 0:41Speaker 1: You forgot about stuff. And then they have, uh, they
- 0:45Speaker 1: also have people, uh, commenting, uh, for instance. And so
- 0:48Speaker 1: we've gotten to number 20, here's number 20, the crown.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Great show. Yeah. And, um, Andy Cohen, who loved it.
- 0:57Speaker 1: They have a little clip of him commenting on why
- 1:00Speaker 1: he liked The Crown so much. And then it shows
- 1:02Speaker 1: you where you can find it. You can find it
- 1:05Speaker 1: on Netflix. Oh, and you can also... You just mark
- 1:09Speaker 1: it like either want to watch or have seen.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:12Speaker 1: So it helps you keep track of everything. Let's see.
- 1:15Speaker 1: And number 19, Chernobyl. Great. Which I thought was excellent.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:21Speaker 2: A lot of these are like... Short, limited series kind
- 1:25Speaker 2: of things, but Chernobyl was fantastic.
- 1:26Speaker 1: This one I never saw. I think my wife watched this,
- 1:29Speaker 1: I May Destroy You. I watched that. Yeah, was it good?
- 1:33Speaker 1: It was all right, yeah. The star of that show,
- 1:37Speaker 1: she created it and wrote most of it. Yeah. She's
- 1:40Speaker 1: just so compelling, you can't take your eye off her. Yeah,
- 1:42Speaker 1: there's a picture of her here, just like a still
- 1:45Speaker 1: where she's crying. I forgot her name. It is Michaela Cole.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Michaela Cole. And she was the writer and, it says here,
- 1:57Speaker 1: fiercely talented writer and actress. Here we go. Number 17,
- 2:03Speaker 1: The Americans. Great. Yep. I know people like that a lot.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Number 16, The Office, UK version.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Oh.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Which was way meaner than the American version. I mean,
- 2:16Speaker 1: really mean.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I saw an interview with Steve Carell the other day
- 2:19Speaker 2: where he talked about they had approached him about doing
- 2:22Speaker 2: the American version, and he had never seen the U.K. version.
- 2:26Speaker 2: And he said, I started to watch it, and I
- 2:28Speaker 2: stopped and thought, I don't want to do a.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Copy of that.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I want to do my own thing.
- 2:35Speaker 1: So he's never watched the British version. Number 15, another
- 2:40Speaker 1: great show, I believe it was HBO, Six Feet Under.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Terrific. There were several seasons of that. Four or five seasons,
- 2:48Speaker 1: I think. Yeah. Sounds about right. Number 14, this is
- 2:51Speaker 1: a show I never watch, but I know it's highly regarded,
- 2:54Speaker 1: Friday Night Lights. I never saw that. I don't know
- 2:57Speaker 1: why I haven't watched it. It's sports related, so I
- 3:00Speaker 1: didn't bother. Kyle Chandler's in it. You like Kyle Chandler.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Kyle Chandler is great in Lanterns. I like Kyle Chandler
- 3:07Speaker 1: as Green Lantern.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Allie Larder's in it.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Minka Kelly, Michael B. Jordan. It's football, though. Adrian Palicki.

- 3:28Speaker 3: yes and the little clip they they chose to show
- 3:32Speaker 3: is uh uh david cross in his blue man throwing
- 3:36Speaker 3: something in the air and catching it in his mouth
- 3:38Speaker 3: if i.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Ever have like 20 minutes, and I need just a
- 3:42Speaker 2: little pick-me-up.
- 3:43Speaker 1: It's perfect. Pick any one.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Just a little snippet of Arrested Development.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it's perfect. Number 11, so better than the UK version,
- 3:52Speaker 1: The Office, the United States version.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Which was very, very funny. Number 10, Atlanta, a terrific series.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Good show, yeah. Number 9, Curb Your Enthusiasm. Yes, yes.
- 4:08Speaker 1: It's Larry David with a sunburned head, and somebody has
- 4:12Speaker 1: put something on it so that he didn't get burned,
- 4:14Speaker 1: and there's like a smiley face there. And he doesn't
- 4:17Speaker 1: know it's there, apparently. Number eight, 30 Rock. Number eight,
- 4:22Speaker 1: 30 Rock.

- 4:23Speaker 1: Great show. Number seven, Veep. Love it. Love Veep. Number six,
- 4:29Speaker 1: Game of Thrones. Love it.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I approve of all of these.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I like that, except for the last season.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I didn't mind it. Eh.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Number five, what a great show, Fleabag. Yeah. Limited series, excellent,
- 4:43Speaker 1: excellent show. Number four, Succession. Really good. Yeah, yeah. Number three,
- 4:50Speaker 1: Mad Men.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Mad Men's one of my very favorite shows ever.
- 4:54Speaker 1: It is good. Boy, it sold, you know, it just...
- 4:58Speaker 1: Just well done.
- 4:59Speaker 2: It looked good.
- 5:01Speaker 1: It was smart. Number two, The Wire. The Wire. I
- 5:04Speaker 1: guess I ought to get around to watching that. The Wire? Yeah.
- 5:07Speaker 1: It's great. It is excellent. And then finally, the... Predictions?
- 5:13Speaker 1: Number one show.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I know one we haven't said yet. What?
- 5:17Speaker 1: Breaking Bad. Oh, yeah. That's what I was thinking. It is.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Breaking Bad. The best TV show of this decade.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Now, I saw some people complaining.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Or a century, I should say.
- 5:28Speaker 2: That The Sopranos isn't on the list. Do you know
- 5:30Speaker 2: why The Sopranos isn't on the list?
- 5:32Speaker 1: Why is that?
- 5:32Speaker 2: Because it started to.
- 5:34Speaker 1: 1999. Ah.
- 5:35Speaker 2: So it was one year.
- 5:37Speaker 1: So they count that as not. Shy. Okay.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Well, that's unfortunate.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Because in any list of the best TV shows.
- 5:46Speaker 1: It would have been top ten. Yeah. We was robbed. Katie,
- 5:50Speaker 1: have we posted a link to this?
- 5:52Speaker 3: Article?
- 5:53Speaker 1: This list? Yes, we have. We just put it on
- 5:55Speaker 1: our website. Send it to her. I think you can
- 5:59Speaker 1: access it for free. I think. I was.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Pleasantly surprised that Battlestar Galactica was 35.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I thought, wow. They never give genre a chance. Just
- 6:16Speaker 1: to remind you, the very bottom one, 100, was Scandal.
- 6:22Speaker 1: And then that bottom 10, Gilmore Girls, The OA, Community,
- 6:28Speaker 1: Halt and Catch Fire, House. So, you know, so that
- 6:32Speaker 1: shows you the range of.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I like this list because there's stuff I didn't watch
- 6:37Speaker 2: at the time that I've forgotten about. Like The Americans
- 6:41Speaker 2: came out years ago and we just started watching it.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 6:45Speaker 1: It's really good.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I'm enjoying it.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I think when you, it's interesting, you compare the top
- 6:50Speaker 1: 10 or 20. And the bottom 20, you really, you
- 6:54Speaker 1: see that they've done well. They've really done well. It's
- 6:56Speaker 1: not that these are bad shows at the bottom. It's
- 6:59Speaker 1: just that they're things that are so much better. Oh, man,
- 7:02Speaker 1: we've been watching Colin from Accounts, which has been on
- 7:05Speaker 1: for a while, but we're just watching the first season.
- 7:08Speaker 1: That's a show you should watch. It is really good.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Gets better on every episode, too. I guess I ought
- 7:15Speaker 1: to get off my ass and watch The Wire. Yep,
- 7:18Speaker 1: it's great. Never saw it. So many... People, so many
- 7:22Speaker 1: actors came out of that show. Mm-hmm. You know, I
- 7:26Speaker 1: guess I had a... Let's see. Well, let me go
- 7:28Speaker 1: back to that. Get around and watching. The Wire was number...
- 7:33Speaker 1: Top ten, wasn't it? Yeah. Yeah, number two.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Let's see who... Let's see what it says. I'm trying
- 7:42Speaker 1: to see if it lists any of the... It doesn't mention... No,
- 7:44Speaker 1: it doesn't. I know Walton Goggins was on it. Idris Elba.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Idris Elba.
- 7:49Speaker 2: And.
- 7:51Speaker 1: That guy that died. Gus Fring was on it. And
- 7:54Speaker 1: that other guy was dead.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Jimmy John says he's been re-watching The Leftovers. It's also
- 8:01Speaker 1: on the list. Depressing show. But Carrie Coon is amazing
- 8:07Speaker 1: in that show. The Leftovers. The Leftovers. I mean, she's
- 8:10Speaker 1: good in anything. But, well, there you go.
- 8:13Speaker 2: We hope you enjoyed another list with Radio From Hell
- 8:17Speaker 2: on X96.
