- 0:13The views and opinions expressed on the Morning Wood Show are
- 0:16strictly those of a crazy lady in a tree, and most definitely
- 0:19not the views of military broadcast radio.
- 0:22You've been warned. Proceed with caution, we are not
- 0:25liable if you laugh so hard you fall out of your chair.
- 0:28So grab your spoon, smack that rooster and let's get this day
- 0:32started right. Let's get ready for the morning
- 0:35wood cooka doodle. My fellow Americans, in this
- 1:04poignant hour, I ask you to join with me in prayer for Almighty
- 1:11God. Our sons, pride of our nation
- 1:17this day, have set upon the mighty endeavour, the struggle
- 1:22to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization,
- 1:28and to set free a suffering humanity.
- 1:33Lead them straight and cruel. Give strength to their arms,
- 1:39stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness in their faith.
- 1:45They will need Thy blessings. Their role will be long, hard,
- 1:52but the enemy is strong. He may hurl back our forces, but
- 1:57we shall return again and again. The darkness will be rent by
- 2:02noise and flame. Men's souls will be shaken with
- 2:08the violences of war. Some will never return.
- 2:13Embrace these, Father, and receive them, Thy heroic
- 2:18servants, into Thy Kingdom as we rise to each new day, and again,
- 2:26when each day is spent, let words of prayer
- 3:31Lord give us faith, Give us faith in thee, faith in our
- 3:38sons, faith in each other, faith in our united crusade that will
- 3:46spell a sure peace, a peace invulnerable to the schemings of
- 3:54unworthy man, and a peace that will let all men live in
- 4:00freedom, reaping the just rewards of their honest toil.
- 4:07Thy will be done, Almighty God. Military broadcast Radio, the
- 4:15station that's giving veterans a voice.

- 4:22Opinions expressed in this program are those of the
- 4:25speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views or positions
- 4:30of any entities they represent. That's how you start.
- 4:41Oh yeah, nice to show you my broadcaster from the Bedford
- 4:45Poison Studio here in Denver, Co.
- 4:49It is not only the ace train that the HR nightmare, but we
- 4:52got bad Holly in the house. That's right, even on the
- 4:56gloomiest of mornings you know we still need a little Holly
- 5:00doodle Doo. Welcome to the morning show.
- 5:02We're going to have two hours of fun military style madness Bad
- 5:08Holly with your Co host. And like and like and like bad,
- 5:14Holly always says good morning. It's time to.
- 5:17Rise and sizzle. Oh, you feel that energy,
- 5:22caveman? I do.
- 5:23I do. We got quite the crew up in
- 5:26here. Hell yeah we do.
- 5:27Yeah, give. Give a little hoot, hoot.
- 5:29Shout out and tell us what you're doing.
- 5:31Start with caveman. Oh yeah.
- 5:32Just over here on sound, running everyone's audio, making sure we
- 5:36all sound good. If you drop a comment in I'll
- 5:39I'll make sure to play you up here.
- 5:40Like Bob Jay, my boy say good morning.
- 5:43Oh, good morning, Bob. Jay.
- 5:46There we go. Sizzle in early.
- 5:48And my my dad from Indiana. He Papa H.
- 5:52He is visiting with us today, so he'll be, he'll be also here
- 5:57today. I tell you what, we, we have
- 6:00the, the first thing that we're going to play is the where is it
- 6:05the mail call? We're going to get ready to play
- 6:07the mail call and then we'll, we'll get into it.
- 6:11But you know, this, I think it's important.
- 6:13The reason why we do mail call just so you know, Holly, is
- 6:16because there's a lot of veterans out there that are
- 6:18doing some great things. But unfortunately, you know, if,
- 6:24if they're not like a superstar or a celebrity or they're, you
- 6:28know, they don't have like a visual injury, sometimes they
- 6:31get overlooked. And it's our job to bring bring
- 6:35it up that they're doing great things.
- 6:38So, ladies and gentlemen, it is today's Veteran Spotlight Mail.
- 6:44Call. U.S.
- 6:56Army veteran Randy Villanueva of Laredo will take on a grueling
- 6:5932 mile run Saturday to highlight the mental health
- 7:02struggles faced by veterans in the alarming rates of suicide
- 7:05within their community. The run seeks to draw attention
- 7:08to a crisis that claims the lives of 17 veterans every day,
- 7:12carrying the Chain of Hope via Nueva, a Texas Veterans
- 7:15Commission certified peer service coordinator for the
- 7:18Border Region Behavioral Health Center.
- 7:20We'll aim to transform physical endurance into a solemn reminder
- 7:24of the heavy burden veterans bear.
- 7:26The chain represents the 17 veteran lives lost to suicide
- 7:29every day, +2 local lives that remind us of the impact on our
- 7:32community, Villanueva said. We're doing this for the
- 7:36veterans, for their families and for the community that stands
- 7:38behind them. Villanueva and his fiance,
- 7:41Dahlia, will set off from the web Zapata County line on US
- 7:44Hwy. 83 at 3:00 AM. They are expected to complete
- 7:47their journey by 11:00 AM at the Border Region Behavioral Health
- 7:51Center in Zapata. All right, well.
- 7:56Well, that was real quick. I got to fix the ending on that
- 8:00one. Well, you know, I, I just, I
- 8:03think it's incredible that you, you have veterans that are going
- 8:06out there and, and doing the things because people just don't
- 8:09understand that, you know, when we get done serving, like we
- 8:14have to have some kind of a purpose.
- 8:17We have to have some kind of agenda that we're working
- 8:21towards because I mean, you know, everybody's enlistment is
- 8:25usually like 3 or 4 years. And when you're told what to do
- 8:29and how to do it, to accomplish a mission, and then you get out
- 8:32and there's like nothing, there's like no direction.
- 8:36You know, things like this. It, it's really important.
- 8:38And it's really important that not only veterans, but the
- 8:42veteran community know that hey, we're not, we're, we're, even
- 8:46though we're not serving, we're, we're, we're still serving in
- 8:48the, in the different method, in the different.
- 8:51Yeah, when your, when your life's mission is a warrior, you
- 8:54know, and you, you, you have that that span of, of serving
- 8:58your country and then you got to fit into civilianship.
- 9:01I can only imagine, you know, you're just waiting for that
- 9:04moment to to do what you do. But the the one thing that I've
- 9:08always really appreciated and just a little back story on why
- 9:12I'm sitting here right now. Plop right.
- 9:16I, I had a a morning, a morning show on military broadcast
- 9:21radio. This is back in the day before
- 9:23we were rocking some stream yard and and firing and all cylinders
- 9:27on socials, which is super cool. And it's really neat to see
- 9:31where you have taken this, this station and, and your passion.
- 9:38And I see, I see that warrior in you, you know, and I can only
- 9:43imagine for, you know, those of you are listening and those of
- 9:46you are listening for the first time.
- 9:47If you know anybody out there that has that struggle, like,
- 9:52you know, I just you, you feel like you're, you're you're just
- 9:55stirring in this, this, this lost.
- 9:58Where's my purpose? You know, and, and I, I'm not
- 10:02trying to toot my horn too much, but I've always had that warrior
- 10:05fight spirit. Hell yeah.
- 10:06You know, I know. But I can only imagine, and I
- 10:10can't imagine when you, when you're like, what, what, what do
- 10:12I do? And and I can tell you I was in
- 10:16that very stir when I met you and you brought up military
- 10:21broadcast radio. And I remember just being a
- 10:23little intern at the time from the Colorado media school and
- 10:28just kind of, you know, seeing the seeing the mingle, seeing
- 10:32what you do, seeing how you, how you take and you support
- 10:36veterans to give them that everyday boots on the ground.
- 10:39You know, I'm on radio. I got something to live for, you
- 10:41know, and it really just starts with a segment and just starts
- 10:44with any, anything that you're passionate that you want to talk
- 10:48about. You know, you got caveman in
- 10:49here that's rocking. I like seeing these guys rocking
- 10:52the games and and and rocking sports and waking up in the
- 10:55morning and seeing that the face you know and not about.
- 11:00Five, I was up earlier than that.
- 11:02Honestly, I didn't even have to set my alarm this morning.
- 11:05I just got up. Yeah, came in as pretty good
- 11:07about that. You know we, I don't highlight
- 11:10him or HG very much, but we really need to Caveman and HG,
- 11:17they've been a duo now here for almost 2 years that I think it
- 11:22will be officially two years once we get into March.
- 11:28And you know what I mean. If you tell somebody to show up
- 11:33with no pay just to volunteer at 5:45 in the morning to around 10
- 11:40and coming in and doing, you know, basically two shows two
- 11:43days out of the week plus caveman and AC.
- 11:46They've got like 3 jobs. They're like Jamaican, they got
- 11:49like 3 jobs. They're all over the place.
- 11:51And you know, we don't, we don't spot like that enough.
- 11:54But I mean, just because you're not a veteran.
- 11:58Actually, just just the one now for me.
- 12:00Just oh, just one. Well, you was working noodles
- 12:03and. Companies yeah, but that's
- 12:05thanks to the great people at Colorado media school.
- 12:07Debbie helped get me hooked up and X star.
- 12:10You know, if you're if you've been watching the NBC local news
- 12:14in Tyler Slash, Longview, TX past couple days, I've been
- 12:18running. I've been sending your them the
- 12:20break because it's. Sending the feed.
- 12:22Yeah, their their DNF panels broken so they have to message
- 12:25in the master control every time they need to need to go the
- 12:28break. So I'll be I'll be taking care
- 12:30of your local news folks. How super cool to get to work
- 12:33every day and and you get to walk up to this like secret wall
- 12:36that's like a mountain unless they've painted over it last.
- 12:39I've been there, right. And you open up that that door
- 12:43that's kind of have that big. Mirror the master control door.
- 12:46Yeah, they still like the double doors.
- 12:47They still got that big painting over them.
- 12:50There's also like a smaller door that's just a normal wooden door
- 12:54that you can all slender in through.
- 12:55So explain what next there is because I'm like what?
- 12:58What? Tower it's so I'm I'm part of
- 13:02the master control department for for them, but they're like a
- 13:06giant media management company. So like, well, I just do is run,
- 13:11you know, several television stations just keeping their logs
- 13:14on time, that sort of stuff. You know, sometimes you got to
- 13:20manually roll brakes, whatever it may be when you're on like
- 13:24going from network to local. There's a lot of technical
- 13:27mumble jumble that I won't bore everyone with.
- 13:29But yeah, that's that's basically what it boils down to,
- 13:33just making sure the TV everyone's right for everybody.
- 13:37Just waiting for that Chad to pop up.
- 13:39But so Debbie Byrd, a big shout out to you from at the Colorado
- 13:44Media School. She's the career advisor.
- 13:47She's the director of career services.
- 13:50She's been there longer than anybody.
- 13:52I think she was there when they created that school.
- 13:56She hasn't been that long, but we, we like to call her Mama
- 13:59Bird, Mama bird because what she does is she's, she goes to
- 14:05employers in the media field and this is for the Colorado media
- 14:09school. She does this and she brings
- 14:12resumes in hand and will talk to employers and will slap a resume
- 14:18down. Like, I think, I think you
- 14:19should look at this student and you know, and, and really,
- 14:23really like what, what, what she fights.
- 14:24So she, she fights for the cause.
- 14:27And I know because I have I've worked at the Colorado media
- 14:30school. I was their I was their brand
- 14:33manager, which I did all the social media for the whole
- 14:39network and made sure everybody at multiple locations.
- 14:44What's up? Whoop, whoop.
- 14:47That's oh, that's you. Is that you, caveman?
- 14:49No, that's one of, that's one of our shows that are on every
- 14:54Monday. The constant positive thinking.
- 14:58That's MJ. You and her would really get
- 15:01along. Whoop.
- 15:02And I'm like, yeah, sorry, sorry, off I go.
- 15:06But I I did. I managed the branding for a
- 15:09long time and I have just sense retired as of about a about a
- 15:14week ago. And that's why I'm sitting here.
- 15:16Oh my God, I feel like I've been skipping down the sidewalk.
- 15:20And I don't think anybody understands in this day and age
- 15:23when it comes to social media management, how around the clock
- 15:26that is. I take my phone to the bathroom
- 15:29with me and and sometimes I check before I grab toilet
- 15:33paper. And so and one thing I'm looking
- 15:35with social media is some sometimes it's not about
- 15:38posting. Sometimes with social media,
- 15:40it's about like liking other people's posts and sharing
- 15:44their. Leaving comments on other
- 15:46people's videos. It's a full time job, it really
- 15:51is. But we we're, we're coming up on
- 15:55that time for us to go on our first break.
- 15:59When we come back, we're going to be doing the what the segment
- 16:04and I don't know, do you, do you know how to do you know, do you
- 16:10know how to charge a car like. Boost the cable.
- 16:16Car. The car.
- 16:17How to charge? The battery, Yeah, like a car,
- 16:19right. Well, apparently I have a video
- 16:23of what happens if you don't do it.
- 16:24Right. Oh.
- 16:26Details to follow. So whatever you do, stay with
- 16:28us. Don't go away.
- 16:29You'll listen to the morning Wood show right here on the
- 16:31station that's giving veterans the Lloyds.
- 16:33NPR. The station where our veterans
- 20:57voices are heard. MBR talk.
- 20:59Hey thanks for tuning. In welcome are those of the
- 21:05speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views or positions
- 21:10of any entities they represent. The web at NB radio dot.
- 21:18And we're back, ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to
- 21:21the Morning Woods show the debut that Holly and age right here on
- 21:26the station that is letting our veterans voices be heard MBR.
- 21:31All right, so you know, we had a a great spotlight and one of the
- 21:35reasons why we played that one video in front of everything.
- 21:40If you didn't realize today is June 6th.
- 21:43What happened June 6? Well, D-Day happened.
- 21:47It's the 80th 80th anniversary 80th.
- 21:52Can you believe that? So it's been 80 years since our
- 21:56potential. We had to learn German or
- 21:58French, you know, So it's, it's amazing.
- 22:04It's, you know, I was looking at with, with civilians, military
- 22:08and everything. Do you realize that we lost 55
- 22:11million people in World War 2? Wow, I, I, I did, I did look
- 22:17into this and and I was kind of surprised to see that it was the
- 22:21break and kind of the catalyst to why World World War 2 ended
- 22:29shortly after D-Day. I just, I, I, I can't imagine,
- 22:37you know, back, back in that day, I mean, Europe and France
- 22:42and even just seeing, seeing all the, the, the places that are
- 22:45now, you know, pretty much you, you know, doing the memorial for
- 22:51this. And I, when, when you called
- 22:55yesterday and you were like, Oh my God, this is the anniversary
- 22:57of D-Day. I was like, oh, wow.
- 23:01I, and if, if, if you're unaware, it's D-Day.
- 23:05Really. It refers to when Allied forces
- 23:08launched A seaborne invasion and it was a a part of a operation
- 23:17overload during World War 2 and the goal was to liberate Western
- 23:24Europe. So yeah, we, we, we had over
- 23:301056. Troops.
- 23:36Over in in Europe. So it, it was, it's, it's, it's
- 23:42crazy every time I and I don't get off topic, every time I
- 23:48start a show, my first show that I started morning wood was the
- 23:53day after they stormed the Capitol.
- 23:56And I was like, I don't want to, you know, and, and, and really,
- 24:01honestly, I, I, if anything, you know, I, I, I like how they,
- 24:10they do, you know, a, a moment of silence, you know, I'll get
- 24:14in your feels. And I, how, how would you like,
- 24:18if, if you could have like down the road, like a year from now,
- 24:22how would you commemorate or celebrate?
- 24:26How would you do that? You know, I tell you the, the,
- 24:31the thing that stands out to me the most of it is so like before
- 24:36I left for Iraq the first time I went to a movie theater.
- 24:40And you know, the movie theaters that we have on post, they're
- 24:43kind of, I don't want to say second, second, but everybody
- 24:48gets to see the movie and then we get to see like a floppy
- 24:51second. And right before I was heading
- 24:54off to Iraq, the, the movie that I chose to watch right before I,
- 24:59before I deployed was Saving Private Ryan.
- 25:03And as soon as they, they, the, the, they played the, you know,
- 25:08the sea going, you know, and people throwing up and then they
- 25:12were starting to raise the gate down and, you know, everybody's
- 25:16like getting shot and stuff. And my first thing was, oh,
- 25:20shit, I'm not going to make it home.
- 25:23You know, it's, it, it, it's hard to put in words because
- 25:34even though we deployed to Iraq, I, I, I, I really think that
- 25:39World War 2 and World War One was worse than Iraq.
- 25:47And I'm the reason why I tell you that is because World War
- 25:50One, World War 2, like we were going to the aid for countries
- 25:56say, Hey, we've got your back. And all these other wars, even
- 26:00though, you know, I, I don't, I don't want Iraq and Afghanistan,
- 26:03all those going into vain because, you know, I lost a lot
- 26:07of battle buddies. And if I said that, you know,
- 26:10the war was worthless, then you know, their, their, their memory
- 26:17would, would, would go in vain. But you know, the thing that we
- 26:20don't think about is like if you, I've seen pictures of where
- 26:24I was in Iraq and it's cities now it's cities, It's it's it's
- 26:30well equipped cities. So even though maybe the
- 26:35soldiers didn't get something out of it or America didn't
- 26:38really get anything out of the Iraq, Afghanistan war, at least
- 26:43those people in Iraq and Afghanistan, at least they got
- 26:46something. They, they, they got a part of
- 26:50life to enjoy just a little bit more.
- 26:52You know, when you go over there, you don't realize how bad
- 26:56it is. It's like the third world
- 26:58country. I mean, the way they, you know,
- 27:01drive the, you know, the roads, their way of life is totally
- 27:05different than the way of life that we have here.
- 27:08But they wouldn't have gotten to experience that if our troops
- 27:12didn't go over there. So when people say that, oh,
- 27:17Afghanistan or Iraq was 81st anniversary of D-Day, sorry
- 27:23about that. OK.
- 27:24Yeah, it's your first anniversary.
- 27:26I thought it was 80th, my bad. I was like, I'm not going to
- 27:29correct them. We'll, we'll let everybody else
- 27:32correct them. But, you know, even though
- 27:37America might not have benefited from Iraq and Afghanistan, at
- 27:40least those people did. Yeah.
- 27:42You know, at least they got the chance to vote.
- 27:45And that's really neat. One of the biggest things that I
- 27:48did when I was over there, I got with a, a Group, A nonprofit, it
- 27:52was called Book for Soldiers and I saw a lot of kids that they,
- 27:56they, the barefoot, they didn't have shoes, all of them, no
- 28:01shoes. I got a book for Soldiers and
- 28:06they sent me a bunch of like Payless shoes.
- 28:09And we, I was instead of candy because we used to like throw
- 28:13candy out of the Humvee sometimes for the kids.
- 28:15I was throwing out shoes. I was throwing out shoes
- 28:19because, you know, it's something little like that.
- 28:22I think it's important. Everybody should, everybody
- 28:26should own a pair of shoes. Everybody should own or have a
- 28:32bed to sleep in. So those are just some of the
- 28:34things. But you know, before I keep
- 28:37rambling on, Holly, it's the what the moment.
- 28:42So let's play that beautiful beam footage.
- 28:45Let's get it. They're cool tats man.
- 28:47Ah, for real, Thank you bro. You see?
- 28:49The Cobra And what is this 10? This.
- 28:51Uh huh. That's my credo.
- 28:53No regrets. You have no regrets, Dad?
- 28:57No. Like not even a single letter.
- 29:00No way, not me. I love him.
- 29:03I think he's great. I think he's a real winner.
- 29:05Casey, if I were you, I wouldn't use protection.
- 29:13I have it on the right spots, right?
- 29:16Yeah, yeah, you do. It's not, it's not like positive
- 29:30is on negative or anything. No, we've literally used these
- 29:40to jump start. What is up with today's society?
- 29:46You know, if somebody's getting stabbed or somebody's getting
- 29:48beat or there's a fire, hey, we're going to record it.
- 29:52Do you know? Let's not worry about calling
- 29:53them, I think. That was a product of 2020.
- 29:56You know when it was. Like stay home like.
- 29:59Didn't drive so I had no idea. Troubleshooting is not my
- 30:02fortune. My favorite part of the video is
- 30:04the guy's like, I've got them on the right ones, right?
- 30:05He's like, yeah, that's like, well, very clearly he's not,
- 30:08because that. Yeah, something's wrong with
- 30:09this picture, dude. Like cables are melting.
- 30:12They're double check your. Is it just me or when you when
- 30:16you walk out to a parking lot and you see somebody SOS in like
- 30:19that and they're like, Hey, hey, you got any jumper cables?
- 30:22I'm like God, like I secretly want to walk backwards or it's.
- 30:28I forgot something. Or I think they could tell by
- 30:31the look on my face because I'm not one at hiding it.
- 30:34But you know. Well, you know what, I, so we
- 30:39don't even use jumper cables anymore.
- 30:41What people use now and I, I, I understand why they use it.
- 30:46They, they have these big like rechargeable boxes that you,
- 30:51that you like. It's like a USB thing and then
- 30:54you plug it into the battery. And I always wondered why, why
- 30:58are people doing the reason why is because it's been I, I don't
- 31:03know, every year it gets more awkward asking other people for
- 31:08help or asking people to help you with something because.
- 31:14Let me tell you guys, yeah, I literally, I used to work at a
- 31:17AutoZone. So people coming in and like
- 31:20having to ask me when I was like 18 years old to change like
- 31:24grown adults, car batteries and their wiper blades.
- 31:27It was just really it was awkward conversations every
- 31:30single time because they were they didn't know how to ask and
- 31:33I would like just got out of high school like had like no
- 31:36facial hair. They're asking like a little kid
- 31:39to change their car. You.
- 31:40Felt like they felt, yeah, like it was awkward asking you and
- 31:44you knew they were yeah, like. But it's like, it's my job.
- 31:46Just like. Well, sometimes, like you don't
- 31:50know the proper names of like, you know what you're gonna say,
- 31:54but you're like, hey, you know, do you have this majiggy?
- 31:57And this majiggy is supposed to go like this or something like
- 31:59that, you know? So you think that's like 1 so
- 32:04that the the the blue to the blue or the positive to the
- 32:08negative and then the other ones crossed, right?
- 32:11Because I I always thought something like more than that
- 32:14was going to happen, like explosion or.
- 32:18Well, see, I didn't even think that would happen.
- 32:20I thought maybe it just went charge.
- 32:21I didn't think it would burn like that.
- 32:24That, you know, you're you're a mechanic stuff.
- 32:27Have you ever seen anything like that where the cables just burn?
- 32:31I haven't because every time that I've put cables on
- 32:35batteries, I have not. I've not seen that.
- 32:39I've always done it the right way.
- 32:40So what What? What is your hypothesis on what
- 32:43happened? Yeah, they probably just had the
- 32:45cable swapped. Or probably yeah, they probably
- 32:49just had the cable swapped. Yeah, that's that's where my.
- 32:51Brain on both sides. And I like that they just
- 32:53watched it. I know they were talking like it
- 32:56was melting and the guy's like, did we set this up right?
- 33:00Hey, dude. I don't know.
- 33:01Just keep on recording it. You know this is going to go
- 33:05viral. It's going to go viral.
- 33:07I mean, in their defense, wasn't I suppose if you grab the
- 33:11searing hot cables and they're like melting in front of them,
- 33:14I. Mean no, but you turn the car
- 33:16off or. Something right, Something.
- 33:19I don't know if it was jump rope.
- 33:22Anybody. Thank God they're not fireman
- 33:25shit, you know. They probably didn't know what
- 33:27to do in that situation. Like, oh, might as well record
- 33:29it. I just want to see what the
- 33:33ground looked like after a little pool of plastic.
- 33:36Yeah. Right.
- 33:36Then you got like the real serious stuff hanging there.
- 33:39Like, no, you're definitely. Yeah, all just like the wiring.
- 33:44They sat there, they let it get so hot to the point you probably
- 33:47can't even grab the cables off anymore.
- 33:50Probably like just melt onto the battery at this.
- 33:53Point I've never seen that before in my entire life.
- 33:56Even if you just touch like metal on the connectors, it
- 33:59sparks. Yeah, that's true.
- 34:01That is true. Batteries are insanely
- 34:04conductive. That's why I'm always afraid
- 34:08when someone's like, Hey, man, you got jumper cables.
- 34:11I'm like, oh, because even I'm like when I'm hovering over my
- 34:14battery, I'm like, like double checking and looking and then
- 34:17secretly like, I hope they, I hope they put that on right over
- 34:20there. I'm like, God, and I'm totally
- 34:21judging. And it's, it's, it's a whole
- 34:24experience that you go through just to help another person, you
- 34:28know, get back on the road again.
- 34:29And then I've, I have found myself because I've been in that
- 34:33situation where, you know, my battery was on its way out and
- 34:38you say to the person, drive right home.
- 34:42Right, what you know, and it's real awkward.
- 34:44So we used to have buddies house.
- 34:47We used to have a, we used to have a neighbor and she wanted
- 34:51me to put up a shelf and cave me and remembers this.
- 34:54She wanted me to put up a shelf. And I looked at her and I'm
- 34:56like, I, you know, I'm, I'm a computer guy.
- 34:59I'm not really a handyman. And she was like, I just need to
- 35:03put this put up shelf. And I'm like, OK, I'm telling
- 35:07you, you're kind of giving me too much credit.
- 35:09She wouldn't listen to me. So I put up the shelf.
- 35:12And then three days later, boom, that shelf like fell.
- 35:17And everything landed on the floor.
- 35:19And she was yelling at me. And she was like, look at what
- 35:23you did. And I looked at her and I'm
- 35:25like, well, that's what you get, what you pay for, you know,
- 35:31Because it's like, sorry, you give me too much credit, you
- 35:35know, and. You asked for a a non
- 35:39profession. That'll help you.
- 35:40You got a non professional product.
- 35:42Well, people tend to have this and, and I, I learned this
- 35:46during my first marriage. People tend to have this, this
- 35:50acknowledgement that men know how to do everything when it
- 35:55comes to like woodworking or mechanicism or anything like
- 36:00that, if that's even a word, mechanicism.
- 36:03And then and then the woman, the woman, like everybody's like,
- 36:07oh, well, a woman can cook. A woman can sew a woman, I can
- 36:11assure you right now, like my wife, she knows a lot of stuff,
- 36:15but she could not sew to she, she, she couldn't sew to, to
- 36:20save her life. I couldn't even sew to save your
- 36:23life. These are little skills that are
- 36:26kind of going away. They're needed out there, but
- 36:29they're kind of going away. Hell, we used to have homework
- 36:33in high school and we don't even have that now.
- 36:35Now we got Streamer University. Pretty much, yes.
- 36:39Yeah, exactly. That's what we got now.
- 36:42But what before we run out of time, it is that moment where we
- 36:49play the drop the mic and did we get both?
- 36:53Both clips for this event so the the the normal call from game
- 36:58the final shot of the NBA Finals.
- 37:00We got the normal American broadcast call.
- 37:02Then we also got the Korean call for you because it's just
- 37:05electric equally is good. Obviously both are electric.
- 37:08Check check this out Pacers. Don't worry, don't worry, not
- 37:15going. To do what you all think.
- 37:17I'm going to do we just. Just.
- 37:23Seconds. No bounce to give Halliburton
- 37:26looking. Halliburton driving, pulls off
- 37:28jump shot. Let's go with 3/10 of a second
- 37:32remaining time out. OK, C.
- 37:52Wow, big comments. That was honestly better than
- 37:55the American. That was honestly better.
- 37:57Where'd? You guys find that video?
- 37:59The commentators were epic. The NBA just blast us and posted
- 38:05the the call from the yeah, the NBA posted it.
- 38:07They're. Like, oh man, I'm so glad
- 38:10somebody got that. Did did you hear the
- 38:12commentators? Did you hear their accents?
- 38:15Yeah, that there. That's that was from the the
- 38:18broadcast team in Korea, that was that.
- 38:20Was sick. That's a good find.
- 38:22I want to hear that again so bad.
- 38:24You you you should hear the broadcast for like the Spanish
- 38:27you. Know.
- 38:28Oh yeah. They're good too.
- 38:29They're usually really good, especially with like WWE
- 38:33wrestling and stuff. I mean, it's, it's amazing.
- 38:36The German broadcasts, those are always pretty solid too.
- 38:40Yeah, they always NFL randomly post some German German
- 38:44broadcast teams for their. Well, whenever I heard Japanese
- 38:48broadcasts, I always think they were like constipated, you know,
- 38:52it's like. OK.
- 38:54That's pretty good. Yeah, but hey, you know, before
- 38:57we get too far into the drop of the mic, the one thing that I
- 39:00know a lot of people like, they listen then and and we'll we'll
- 39:05we'll get through it real quick and then we'll head it.
- 39:09We'll give it to the, the, the I, I call you guys the twins,
- 39:12just so you know. But I, I will give it to the
- 39:15twins. But if you watch, if you watch
- 39:19minutes apart, yeah, if you watch the till the final
- 39:22whistle, I mean, people are constantly.
- 39:26We need to get a camera on you guys.
- 39:27We need to dress you guys as Bert and Ernie.
- 39:30That would be a awesome. We do have a Bert and Ernie
- 39:33Mass. That's a duo.
- 39:34Right. Yeah.
- 39:35But I wanted to let everybody know.
- 39:37Here in Colorado, severe weather alert for Southeastern Colorado,
- 39:41we face a high risk of severe storms today with the potential
- 39:45of large hail and tornadoes. While Denver's threat is lower,
- 39:50you know residents should remain cautious of possible hail.
- 39:55If you're in Lamar, you're in the severe weather zone.
- 39:57Yeah. And, and just so you know,
- 40:00because this this is giving us a little news bit about Safeway
- 40:06and Albertsons right now. If you go to Dunkin' Donuts,
- 40:09today is International Donut Day.
- 40:11You go to Dunkin' Donuts and they will give you a free donut.
- 40:15I asked my dad, he got an apple fritter fritter today so.
- 40:19Apple. Fritter Yeah.
- 40:20You're very quiet over there, Dad, You're very quiet over
- 40:24there. It's.
- 40:25Hard to get a word in. Yeah, I know you're going to.
- 40:28Have. Yeah, you got to talk.
- 40:32I do. Well, there you go.
- 40:34Hey, his mic works. Then.
- 40:35For a second, I thought Caveman was moving him.
- 40:38Safeway and Albertson strike authorization.
- 40:41Grocery workers across S Colorado have voted to authorize
- 40:46a strike, admit ongoing contract negotiations, potentially.
- 40:50Safeway either. Yeah, and pack and store
- 40:53operations statewide, there's a lot of places that are like, you
- 40:57know, going out. Hooters went out of business
- 41:00yesterday. Like closed.
- 41:03I'm glad that's at the top of your worries, but well.
- 41:06I mean, as it should be, as it should be.
- 41:09They got great. How is he going on?
- 41:12I know I'm outnumbered, ladies. I'm going to.
- 41:16Create all my ladies that just. Lost their job.
- 41:22Where's that cup? Addy told on.
- 41:26Boulder, Boulder fire bombing charges Mohammed Sabri Solomon
- 41:33has been formally charged with 118.
- 41:37Yeah, there you go. 118 counts, including attempted murder and
- 41:41hate crimes following a violent fire bombing attack during Pro
- 41:45Israel March in Boulder. That stuff happened this last
- 41:51weekend in Boulder. And I tell you what, I'm not
- 41:55going to go into it because I don't, I don't want, I don't
- 41:57want to give him credit. I will say that everybody that
- 42:01was affected during that that event in Boulder, our prayers
- 42:07and our thoughts go with you and your family. anti-Semitism.
- 42:11It's a It was crazy. I, I had just performed in
- 42:15Boulder at the farmers market on Wednesday and I could see some
- 42:20people kind of set up at some checkpoints.
- 42:22So there was some security. There were people kind of
- 42:25stationed and they had even like around the food court roped off.
- 42:30So I'm I'm a singer and a performer in a band called Gypsy
- 42:34Wood and we did pretty good too. We we started at 3:30 and ended
- 42:39at 7:30. I was like woo these pipes but.
- 42:44It. That that there wasn't that that
- 42:47there was no Erie, there was no No Fear.
- 42:51I mean boulder is is is such a unique the.
- 42:55Guy's nuts, he's completely nuts, and one thing about the
- 42:59good old US of A they'll send that sucker to jail.
- 43:03He'll get 3 hots, a cot and TV and just do his time.
- 43:08I. Think I would have went after
- 43:10him. I just know me way too well.
- 43:12Like I, I just seeing him kind of wander and, and everybody, if
- 43:16you've seen any of those videos out there and they're going
- 43:19viral everywhere where they have actual video of him just kind of
- 43:22Doo Doo for a good amount of time where, you know, if there
- 43:26was somebody. Yeah, see, I I guess I'm wrong.
- 43:29I you know, if if I saw somebody kill another person in front.
- 43:34Of me, I would have lost. I, I, I would, I would just kill
- 43:37them. I, I wouldn't even think of it.
- 43:39I wouldn't even worry about waiting till the police.
- 43:42As soon, as, as soon as I saw something like that, I just
- 43:45twist their neck. And I, I know that's not good.
- 43:48I know that that's like a a sinful thing to say, but it was
- 43:51not I that's that's just how I am.
- 43:54It's, it's your. Yeah, it's it's, it's that the
- 43:56inner warrior. You know, you know, he's not
- 43:58going to be homeless. She's going to be in prison.
- 44:00Well, he, he, he won't, he won't, he'll, he'll bubble, will
- 44:06have their time with them. Don't worry about that.
- 44:09Also on another news, a measle outbreak traced to a flight.
- 44:15Health officials report that over half of Colorado's recent
- 44:18measles cases originated from a flight arriving from Turkey,
- 44:24highlighting the rapid spread of the virus.
- 44:28Is is the measles? I don't know if you know this,
- 44:31Holly, but is the measles kind of like chicken pox?
- 44:35Like once you get it, can't ever get it again?
- 44:37Or can you get it again and again and again?
- 44:40Is it kind of like the flu? Honestly, here we go.
- 44:45I it looks like it itches. The other thing I'm going to say
- 44:51is I also think that there were a lot of vaccines in play for a
- 44:58reason for stuff like this. And I, I remember hearing back
- 45:03in the day like cases here and there, but isolated.
- 45:06So that does not sound fun. And for all those people that
- 45:10don't, you know, don't vaccinate their kids or their children's.
- 45:13And I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm not judging at all because I, I, I
- 45:17think that's wholeheartedly. Well we can't really judge judge
- 45:21after the whole COVID. Thing I can't I, I'm, I'm not
- 45:24judging period. I, I know a lot of, a lot of
- 45:27people that are very anti vaccine and, and I, I, you know,
- 45:32I, I think my, my heart's in, in both places where I, I, I, I
- 45:37don't want to get the measles. And I don't know if it's like
- 45:40the chicken pox because even if you're like, you know, you, you,
- 45:43you get the chicken pox. And then when you get older,
- 45:46right, Papa H, you have to worry about getting the shingles.
- 45:50Have you ever had to worry about that?
- 45:52No, but I really worry about that.
- 45:53COVID 0. I.
- 45:56COVID hurts. Yeah.
- 45:58Shingles itches you to death, but COVID hurts.
- 46:02Oh. That doesn't sound good.
- 46:03I mean, none of it sounds good, so wash your hands.
- 46:08It said wash your. Hands a lot.
- 46:09It said measles, the symptoms, dry cough, runny nose, fever,
- 46:14itching and it's but it's just a respiratory disease.
- 46:18Interesting. OK, All right.
- 46:19And before, because we we'll have to go here to break here in
- 46:24a bit, because when we come back at the top of the hour, we're
- 46:28going to have Ness Vicki, she's gonna be our guest and she's
- 46:32gonna. She's gonna bring, she's gonna
- 46:33bring some heart and some yeah. And tell you about her 'cause
- 46:38super, super, super talented, lucky to have a deep connection
- 46:43with Miss Vicki. And I cannot wait for you guys
- 46:46to, to, to hear what she has to say and, and in what she stands
- 46:50for and in all of her life experiences.
- 46:53Right Super. Excited.
- 46:54I'm I'm excited too. She you'll be taking my spot.
- 46:58That's Vicky so that you can get on camera.
- 47:01And this is usually the point where I tell the boys, all
- 47:06right, you guys let us know about the sport highlights for
- 47:11the Colorado sports, the sports edition whenever you guys are
- 47:17ready. Caveman HG what do we have going
- 47:19on? I, I know that it's not
- 47:22Colorado, but congratulations, Indiana Pacers.
- 47:27Yes Sir. Hit it.
- 47:28Rep in the hometown. Come on, our Pacers taking game
- 47:31one. Hell yeah.
- 47:33Electric game they had no, that's my home team.
- 47:36No business winning that game. 25 turnovers.
- 47:40They were so jittery and like just not playing well at the
- 47:43start. But all post season they just
- 47:47they hang around. That's like the fourth quarter
- 47:49hits and that turns into like a totally different team.
- 47:52I mean, you got to like put them away and put them away fast.
- 47:55If you if you give them life, they'll they'll, they'll take
- 47:59that. Their their lead guard Tyrese
- 48:02Halliburton was chose amongst his peers as the most overrated
- 48:06player in the league as well. four-game tying or game-winning
- 48:11shots now in the post season. So he's been just proving
- 48:14everybody wrong, just ripping out the hearts of opposing fans.
- 48:18They they played a game the same day that all those player polls
- 48:21came out and they he hit a big shot against the Knicks and
- 48:24tweeted overrate that. So he's been kind of been kind
- 48:27of doing that the entire playoffs.
- 48:30Yeah, we do actually have a little Colorado Sports News.
- 48:33The Colorado Rockies, they won 10 game, guys.
- 48:36Round of applause. Yep.
- 48:37They did. We're.
- 48:39I think we're 11 and 50 now. I think 11 and 52.
- 48:44They also won their first series of the entire season.
- 48:48They beat the equally pathetic Miami Marlins.
- 48:51Yeah. They did beat the Marlins.
- 48:53OK, I'm sorry. I.
- 48:54Was I think they took that like series like 2 games to 1,
- 48:57something like that. So yeah, good for the Rockies,
- 49:01man. They're they at least have
- 49:04double digit wins. I guess they've now got more
- 49:07wins since the beginning of May than the professional golfers.
- 49:10So it only it only took them till June but.
- 49:12Yeah, yeah, just wait until Halloween season.
- 49:15Rocky tickets, Season tickets will be in the in the trick or
- 49:20treat bag. Yeah.
- 49:21Yeah, makes check. Check your they're already what?
- 49:23Check your kids candy. Some sickos might be giving away
- 49:26Rockies tickets. There's not something you should
- 49:30not subject children to, just that they he knows where that
- 49:36team's going anyways. And then it it it's it's so on
- 49:41here there there's some news about Colorado Rapids.
- 49:45You know what they're they're talking about on that guys.
- 49:47I. Don't OK, they're.
- 49:49At All At All So Color Colorado Rapids face Austin FC on
- 49:56Saturday 9:30 PM Eastern Standard Time Western Conference
- 50:00matchup and Commerce City and the Colorado Buffaloes football
- 50:05update. Offensive tackle Jordan Seaton
- 50:08is emerging as a potential breakout star as the Buffaloes
- 50:10prepare for the upcoming season and the last but not least the
- 50:14Avalanche offseason speculation uncertainly surrounds NHL
- 50:19players Martin Nekus future with reports suggesting he may not be
- 50:25interested in joining the Colorado Avalanche, prompting
- 50:28questions about the team roster plans.
- 50:34And then before we go and then we'll, we'll go on break and
- 50:38bring Miss Miss Vicki on I'll we have weekend activities.
- 50:45And this is one of those things where a lot of people listen to
- 50:49us just to hear the weekend activities.
- 50:52A lot of things are going on this weekend, believe it or not,
- 50:55the Denver Chalk Art Festival. Looks so much fun.
- 50:59Over 200 artists will transform the streets of Golden Triangle
- 51:03into a vibrant canvas with chalk art.
- 51:06As in Golden, you said? Yeah, OK.
- 51:09This is. Free.
- 51:10It's free and it's a 2 day event so.
- 51:13We might have to pack up my residence in the bus to go.
- 51:16Take. I'm going.
- 51:16To see some chalk art, that's like right down the street from
- 51:19my work. Then we have a Denver Greek
- 51:21Festival. Experience authentic Greek
- 51:25cuisine, music and dance at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
- 51:30This festival runs from Friday to Sunday with a $5 admission
- 51:34fee. That's that's not too bad.
- 51:36You know what I love? I don't know if it's Greek food,
- 51:38but I love gyros. We in Germany.
- 51:41We call are they gyros or gyros or euros?
- 51:45Or Donuts. We used to call them Donuts in
- 51:48Germany. Whatever you want to call them,

- 53:23very Richie area. It's it, it's, it's artsy.
- 53:27It's artsy. It's definitely eclectic and it
- 53:31is it's super close from, from, from Denver.
- 53:36And they've they've got a lot of good little craft brews there.
- 53:41But their live music is just kind of like right on their
- 53:44little Main Street. And then so this particular
- 53:49festival ticket, tickets start at $27.00.
- 53:52So it's not free. So we got to get the not free.

- 54:02They're an artist. Don't know them, but they're an
- 54:05artist. They are at Red Rocks and they
- 54:07perform the amplifier tonight. You have to check out tickets.
- 54:13Yeah, well, you know, I tell you, I've, me and my dad, we
- 54:17went to a Red Rocks concert one time and, you know, my dad's
- 54:20like, well, you know, these guys, are they any good or they
- 54:23suck? Sometimes when you go to a Red
- 54:26Rocks concert, sometimes it's not about the band or it's not
- 54:30about the artist that's playing. It's about the atmosphere.
- 54:34That is an amazing atmosphere, what the echo is.
- 54:38Yeah. Go ahead, Dad.
- 54:39Yeah. Colorado is beautiful country.
- 54:42Yeah. You know, we've got hills in
- 54:44Indiana and state parks. But see this is.
- 54:48Hills. Mountain we have.
- 54:50We're in Indiana. We don't have hills, we have
- 54:52corn. Rolling.
- 54:54You've got some mounds, yeah. Yeah, pretty much, yeah.
- 54:58It is, it's, it's, it's an experience.
- 55:00It's a yeah, it's, it's, it's something everyone should
- 55:04experience. And I'm saying that.
- 55:05Oh yeah. When I was going to school in
- 55:08Indiana, the one thing I really loved about the schools is they
- 55:12would bus the kids to the state parks like Mounds and Brown
- 55:19County State parks, and they teach them about stuff right out
- 55:22there, right out there in the parks.
- 55:24It was so great. Keeping the history alive.
- 55:26Yeah, I have culture. There's some, I don't know if
- 55:30they still do it, but in the elementary schools in Jefferson
- 55:33County, there's a outdoor lab. You take a week little camping
- 55:37trip to either Windy Peak or one other one other place.
- 55:44I went to Windy Peak though, but they teach you about all the
- 55:47nature and all the wildlife in the area and you do like fishing
- 55:51it. It's like a it was a pretty good
- 55:53pretty camping trip. It was.
- 55:55Cool, that's going to be a fun job.
- 55:56Oh yeah, in in, like I said in middle high school, I got a my
- 56:01hats off to the high schools because they bust us to, like I
- 56:06said, Brown County, the mounds, France's local State Park.
- 56:11You stayed there all day. They taught you about wildlife,
- 56:14everything. You was great.
- 56:16Papa H, you got a cool voice. Let's get this.
- 56:20Like. He got speechless.
- 56:21He's like nobody's ever. Really cool, like rasping like
- 56:25heart to it. Well, that's called COPD.
- 56:27No, it's called. Hey, at least you don't have it.
- 56:32At least you don't have a DUI voice like I do.
- 56:35Everybody I'm, I'm, I'm trying, you know, it's either when I go
- 56:39to McDonald's or a Hardee's, you know, they either say what can I
- 56:44get for you, ma'am? You they either say that or
- 56:47they're like, are are you drunk? You know that?
- 56:50Yeah. At least you don't have that
- 56:51kind of a voice. Hey, hey, hey, twins, we got to
- 56:54start categorizing voices. Come back next week, we'll have
- 57:00our top five voices for you. Top.
- 57:03Five. There you go.
- 57:04Top five MDR voices Top five. Starting yet?
- 57:07And then Chris, he's got a great one too.
- 57:10You got to hear Chris's voice. Yeah.
- 57:12Is he a boomer? Is it low and slow?
- 57:16Is it? Rich and high tempo.
- 57:19Oh, it's it's just like super deep and like, I mean, like he
- 57:23sounds like he should be like doing like movie trailers for
- 57:26some movie trailers, man. It's got that like that, like
- 57:30deep and like epic grandiose. In a radio station where they
- 57:34sit by microphones and think about what they're going to say
- 57:38next. There's our trailer right there
- 57:40it. Kind of sound like a gun.
- 57:43There he is a pudding. Lamp, I was reaching deep guys,
- 57:46my bad. Shout out to this random
- 57:49engineer. One of the TV stations in
- 57:53Colorado Springs I just overheard when the shift leads
- 57:57on the phone with them because they have any issues out there.
- 57:59He sounds like the guy that does like all the voiceovers in those
- 58:02four truck commercials. Voice Envy.
- 58:05Straight up got voice envy. I was like, dude, this guy, I'm
- 58:08like, this guy should be selling me a pickup truck.
- 58:10What is he doing? Why is he out here fixing
- 58:14transmitters and stuff like this guy should not be fixing the the
- 58:18stuff that puts the TV out there.
- 58:19We got to get him on the TV. Are you able to talk to him at
- 58:23all or you're just like just sitting there?
- 58:26He doesn't want to hear some green operator talk to him and
- 58:29he's probably it was late at night, it was like 12:30 at
- 58:33night. So he's probably got got woken
- 58:35up. He had to like drive out to the
- 58:37the station, the transmitter, whatever is going on.
- 58:39He doesn't want to. He just wants to think that,
- 58:42yeah, well, every other fix, fix.
- 58:44So when, when Miss Vicky comes, we gotta, we gotta tell her what
- 58:47her voice sounds like, yes. That we'll rank it all right so.
- 58:51We have one, we have one last event that we were going to talk
- 58:56about and then we'll go on music Break and then it will be the
- 59:01Miss Vicky time and then we'll hit the tribute troupe.
- 59:04But Charles Pazzino 3D Pop Art Expedition Explore the works of
- 59:13renown 3D pop artist Charles Posito at a special exhibit in
- 59:21Denver on June 6th and you know while while we've announced that
- 59:28if you've never been to post 1, VFW down. 3D pop art. 3D Pop
- 59:35art, Yeah. Wonder if it's like a?
- 59:37Is it a virtual experience? I think it would be a virtual
- 59:39experience. I think it would be one of those
- 59:41things where like you, you see it and it looks like somebody
- 59:44like threw up in the air. And then if you move to the
- 59:47right, it's like a, a sculpture, like a vision thing of Jesus or
- 59:51something. I think that's what those those
- 59:53exhibit things are, you know? If not, it should be.
- 59:57Yeah, but I tell you, if you haven't been to Post 1 VFW,
- 1:00:02check it out because they've got a lot of needs.
- 1:00:05Arts and pictures there and it doesn't cost you anything, but
- 1:00:09it's really remarkable. You'd be surprised what kind of
- 1:00:14art military guys that that you know, like I mean there's some
- 1:00:19really talented military guys even when we get ready to play
- 1:00:23the, you know, the next song from the music break, 90% of the
- 1:00:27artists that we play on our videos, they're all military.
- 1:00:32Oh. That's, you know, that's cool.
- 1:00:36Yes. I, I and the the last gal, what
- 1:00:38was her name? That's Jess Muse.
- 1:00:41Jess. Muse Acoustic.
- 1:00:43Yep, and that's that's right. I think she she's cute.
- 1:00:46So she was probably Navy or Air Force.
- 1:00:49These cute people don't go. Yes.
- 1:00:50You know why these military guys are playing?
- 1:00:52Yeah, because you're very talented.
- 1:00:59CG. Stop watching.
- 1:00:59Yeah, well, you know, CG is the exception.
- 1:01:02You know, I'm just telling you, hey, you know, shout out to CG.
- 1:01:09She has a brand new company that she has called, it's kind of
- 1:01:14like a catering, kind of like a food bar, like Grits.
- 1:01:18It's it's it's French or whatever.
- 1:01:22So she has a she has a new thing.
- 1:01:24We'll we'll, we'll get a commercial for her, but she
- 1:01:27she's she's kicking ass out there.
- 1:01:29If you. Travel.
- 1:01:31Yes. Yeah, if you get in a
- 1:01:33commercial, if you need a commercial out there, where are
- 1:01:36your people? Yes, yeah, Holly is your.
- 1:01:39Holly is a professional drone flyer.
- 1:01:43No, I'm a professional drone watcher.
- 1:01:48My uncle is a professional drone.
- 1:01:50Yeah, pilot. He's an FAA one O 7 pilot.
- 1:01:53But you have your uncle. I am.
- 1:01:55Oh my God, he would love it. Uncle Boo.
- 1:01:57Oh, my uncle B got a shout out. He's going to be all psyched.
- 1:02:01Well, hey, we, we hit the top of the Mor, we hit the top of the
- 1:02:05morning. Now it is whatever it is in your
- 1:02:11neck. It was what time?
- 1:02:14It's 9 Mountain Standard Time here, 11:00 PM or 11:00 AM
- 1:02:19Eastern Standard Time. It is that time we're going to
- 1:02:21go on a music break. And when we come back off of
- 1:02:23that music break, we're going to be talking with Miss Vicki,
- 1:02:28Miss, Miss, Miss, Miss. Vicki.
- 1:02:32Adams. Yes, she's all about fashion.
- 1:02:36She's all about. She's all about a lot.

- 1:08:17dot. Welcome back to.
- 1:08:21Military. Broadcast.
- 1:08:23Radio, MBR Radio. We are here with Miss Vicki
- 1:08:28Adams. I am the morning wood.
- 1:08:31Happy. Friday we are in our last hour
- 1:08:35top of the hour. So happy to be with you here
- 1:08:39this morning. I can tell you from experience
- 1:08:43and and just to oh, did you want to say something to Holly?
- 1:08:49Could it watch me over here? No, I was just getting the
- 1:08:51clapping sound to Oh OK. Oh, OK.
- 1:08:54All right. Thank you for clapping.
- 1:08:57And it makes me feel like I'm, I'm live and privileged.
- 1:09:02How are you doing this morning? You're well.
- 1:09:05How was your drive in 15 minutes?
- 1:09:0915 minutes? OK.
- 1:09:11Can you come a little? Closer to the mic and make sure
- 1:09:13you're yeah so I I I've had the pleasure of being a a a guide in
- 1:09:22in the digital media realm and world for Miss Vicki.
- 1:09:25That's how Vicki and I met and when I met Vicki, the, the thing
- 1:09:31about teaching and in a lot of my students is they, they have
- 1:09:35so many different passions and, and they're rich and, and unique
- 1:09:40in so many different areas. But you took the cake.
- 1:09:43You took the cake, you took the cake and everything from, you
- 1:09:47know, clothing line sewing nonprofits, heart of gold in,
- 1:09:53in, in your vast life experience.
- 1:09:57The thing that I've always really honored about you is, is
- 1:10:01seeing you in your stealth mode. And.
- 1:10:05And, and when I say stealth mode is it, she's one of those people
- 1:10:09that observe. She observes.
- 1:10:11And then when she says something, it's like a Godsmack
- 1:10:15in a good way. In a good way.
- 1:10:18She's living not really a Godsmack like you, you see?
- 1:10:24Yeah. Well.
- 1:10:27You. Definitely make people.
- 1:10:29Think and. Appreciate their surroundings
- 1:10:34there. I can tell you when Vicki was in
- 1:10:38class with me, I we had some some characters that needed a
- 1:10:42lot of godsmacks and I, I remember.
- 1:10:47Then she she graduated. And, and moved on and I was
- 1:10:51like, oh, and now I got these ruffians, you know, So just.
- 1:10:57I I was curious about what how how life's going for you.
- 1:11:01I know you said you've had some people reach out to you.
- 1:11:04How, how how have you been? Yeah, since you graduated.
- 1:11:10Fine. I've had.
- 1:11:13I've had. Offers and opportunities.
- 1:11:18To go back to Los. Angeles, but I didn't.
- 1:11:22And Chicago. But I didn't.
- 1:11:26And I, I, I, I knew it, it would be that way because I always
- 1:11:31have to, to whenever I'm about to move, there are two options,
- 1:11:37the one I want and then the, the one I should do.
- 1:11:41So when you say the the one you want.
- 1:11:44And the one you should do? That's wisdom right there,
- 1:11:48right? Because life, life is going to
- 1:11:51give you a fork in the road, right?
- 1:11:54Sometimes you got to say fork it and do what you should do.
- 1:11:59So explain to me what? What's what?
- 1:12:02What do you mean? Like, So what, what you should
- 1:12:04do? Stay here with me.
- 1:12:06Yeah, thanks. Because the agency.
- 1:12:10I was with, they were awarded a half $1,000,000 and I work with
- 1:12:16these people for 35 years and I just my son was in El Chicago
- 1:12:24and the, the, the, the, the administrators were in Chicago
- 1:12:29too for a wedding. And so they got together and
- 1:12:35they called me and said, guess what, Vicky, we got a half
- 1:12:39million dollars, you know, so that's sort of sort of like name
- 1:12:44their price and without hesitation, you know, I just
- 1:12:53didn't want. To ruin anybody's.
- 1:12:55Vacation. You know, I just played long,
- 1:13:01but I'm not going. No, no.
- 1:13:03What? What?
- 1:13:04What's the cause? It's homeless.
- 1:13:07Homeless services. Homeless services.
- 1:13:10And, you know, the recent fires, Yeah.
- 1:13:13So many people are still displaced and so it's plenty to
- 1:13:17do and it's a worthy cause and I'm good at it.
- 1:13:21Is is there stuff that you can do remotely?
- 1:13:24No. No, no.
- 1:13:27Have to be there and see it, touch it and all that.
- 1:13:30Yeah, and. And I was.
- 1:13:34Talking to. Debbie the other day and I told
- 1:13:36her I've never known peace like this, that this is a peaceful
- 1:13:42place. I'm, I mean, Colorado in
- 1:13:45particular. Yeah, I.
- 1:13:47I could accidentally leave my door unlocked.
- 1:13:50You know, So what you know, and and I'm I'm used to sleep
- 1:13:55sleeping when I open and I finally got some rest you you're
- 1:14:00miss Vicki's from Chicago, so. I I I I hear that I I got to I.
- 1:14:07Got to teach Chicago. For a long time, and I'll tell
- 1:14:11you at Chicago, Miami, Cleveland, Cincinnati, I one
- 1:14:15time I was teaching virtually online and turned on my computer
- 1:14:19to see my, my class load and it was nothing but dots, like 50
- 1:14:25dots. Because of that, I can't wear
- 1:14:28polka dots and I'm traumatized and Chicago and, and I'm, I'm,
- 1:14:35I'm now, I'm not dissing Colorado people, but they're
- 1:14:38such a heart. They're such a, such a breed of,
- 1:14:43of, of people. So when you said Chicago that
- 1:14:47that that connected with me. I had a student one time that
- 1:14:52was in class. And she was like, do you?
- 1:14:54Hear that and I was like, do I hear what?
- 1:14:55And she's like, there's gunshots, there's gunshots right
- 1:14:58outside my window. And she took the class with her
- 1:15:01and turned on the camera virtually and you could see the
- 1:15:05just the light, just the light light up and the and seeing it.
- 1:15:09So total hats off to. I don't even want to say hats
- 1:15:14off, just just you know what, what, when it comes to what
- 1:15:20we're dealing with city to city, like like nationwide and all
- 1:15:24this stuff going on and then you having this opportunity to do
- 1:15:29something and you're, you're like, I, I need to be at peace
- 1:15:33right now. Makes me wonder if if I mean
- 1:15:40you. You you have to listen.
- 1:15:42To that internal you. Yeah, because the I have
- 1:15:46choices. I, I always had choices, you
- 1:15:50know, and I, I chose the hard thing sometimes.
- 1:15:54And this time I said, I'm, I'm choosing myself.
- 1:15:57I, I don't want to do that. It's hard.
- 1:16:02It's, it's a hard thing to do to have somebody sitting next to
- 1:16:07you and what, what, what used to happen.
- 1:16:12People would tell me their whole life story.
- 1:16:15I didn't have nothing but the bus pass, you know, I I see You
- 1:16:20don't have to tell me all that, but they people will.
- 1:16:24Yeah. They, they and I, I would.
- 1:16:27Leave like a dishrag. I mean, just so drained.
- 1:16:30Yeah. And I feel that.
- 1:16:34So, you know, and I'm. I think I'm noticing.
- 1:16:37It more and more with people. It goes way beyond hi, how are
- 1:16:41you? I'm even afraid to say hi.
- 1:16:42How are you sometimes. Hey, thank you.
- 1:16:45But I have a good old hey, you know, I learned.
- 1:16:47How? How?
- 1:16:48Are you? Is the greeting out of question?
- 1:16:52Yeah, I, I, I'm always like, how you doing?
- 1:16:54That's why that's like how I greet people.
- 1:16:57But then when you when you're getting, you know.
- 1:17:00I'm. Married, almost divorced and my,
- 1:17:02you know, my stepson or this I'm like, how did that happen?
- 1:17:06They need to say, you know, they need to say I, I secretly.
- 1:17:09Feel like there's just. People just not getting enough
- 1:17:14attention. No, no, no, not enough
- 1:17:16attention. Yeah, usually if Internet.
- 1:17:18You can be who you. Want to be.
- 1:17:20Yeah, usually if someone. 'S dumping all that info on.
- 1:17:23You they just need to want it out.
- 1:17:26You just you just happen to be the person that's they decided
- 1:17:31you know, they can't hold it anymore catching it in a bucket.
- 1:17:34So Miss Vicki has a. Cause, and this is something
- 1:17:37that I have been trying to help you catapult.
- 1:17:43It's called my sack full of dreams.
- 1:17:47And if you'll explain what that means?
- 1:17:53Well, when I became a senior, I would meet people like myself,
- 1:18:03healthy, wealthy, wise, everything.
- 1:18:07But nobody's calling on them. They just sitting at home or or
- 1:18:13gambling or just just just wasting the wait because no,
- 1:18:19nobody's calling on what distance, what, what whatever it
- 1:18:23is. If if if they you mean like just
- 1:18:26lonely or just not having like I'm not going.
- 1:18:29To the bar at this age, Yeah, even that.
- 1:18:35Drink drinking from loneliness. Just no purpose.
- 1:18:41And what what do you getting old for?
- 1:18:44You, you you get older to serve. You know, the, the grandkids
- 1:18:49don't call them the children don't need them.
- 1:18:52It, it's a horrible place to be. It's, it's a it's a horrible
- 1:18:56place to be. So my sack full of dreams
- 1:19:03includes fashion, cooking, dancing, art and service.
- 1:19:14You know. The people can do what they can,
- 1:19:18whatever that is to for the community or for one another,
- 1:19:21assisting one another. And it it's, it's supposed to
- 1:19:27create fellowship and brotherhood.
- 1:19:31What, what? Otherwise there isn't any, you
- 1:19:34know, some people in my neighborhood, they walk, but
- 1:19:39they're not going nowhere. They wall can come right back
- 1:19:43right, you know, and and it it's it's.
- 1:19:46It's a terrible. Terrible to see for me to see.
- 1:19:50So more like for. Me, I I like looking.
- 1:19:54At stuff from a, a, a. Project standpoint, yeah, and
- 1:20:00I've got multiple projects in there.
- 1:20:02You guys do too. Yeah, Project city.
- 1:20:05But when I I, I can see down the road where.
- 1:20:09Depending on how I'm hanging in there from a technological
- 1:20:14standpoint, right, and and and where stuff kind of moves too
- 1:20:18quick, where, like you said, even my my grandkids, right,
- 1:20:23where you just want to have a network in the connect with
- 1:20:26somebody or be a part of a big project.
- 1:20:30You know, within, within like minded people.
- 1:20:34Like I can only imagine, you know, you sitting around with a
- 1:20:37bunch of teenagers going. I'm drained.
- 1:20:41I mean, I must say have 12 nieces.
- 1:20:44I haven't taught. Any of them to sew?
- 1:20:46No, I've taught strangers and 12 nieces, you know, where they
- 1:20:50wear clothes. Yeah, but they're not available,
- 1:20:54you know, or not interested. Interested in, you know, in
- 1:20:57influencers. I don't want that with all.
- 1:20:59This in me? Yeah.
- 1:21:01You know, are you still doing sewing?
- 1:21:03Classes. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:21:06So think of that I, I'm going to have a connect on and, and I'll
- 1:21:11connect to MB, MB talk MB radio and I'll also have a connect for
- 1:21:17Miss Vicki on the morning wood show on Facebook where you guys
- 1:21:23can it it, it'll, they'll be a Google form attached to it.
- 1:21:27And what we're looking for is to see what type of, of what type
- 1:21:34of event to start with, if it's a cooking class, right, If it's
- 1:21:38a like crackers and cheese or, you know, something, something
- 1:21:42fun like maybe a, a ballroom dancing one-on-one that that
- 1:21:48would be fun clothes. They they got a favorite.
- 1:21:54Dress they had 12 years ago and, and still nowhere to wear.
- 1:21:58I'm saving this dress. I'm going dancing in this dress.
- 1:22:01I'm I'm going to do whatever you know, and you still waiting on
- 1:22:04the occasion. Go put that dress on.
- 1:22:08Come out in the afternoon. Put it.
- 1:22:10It's only a dress, you know, but it's special.
- 1:22:15To you it. It I I mean, just don't, don't,
- 1:22:21don't throw people away. You know, I like that.
- 1:22:25I. Talked to to.
- 1:22:27My God sister, yesterday she, she said.
- 1:22:31Vicki, do you remember this? Do you remember that?
- 1:22:34When we were little, I said, of course I remember she, she,
- 1:22:39she's, she's holding on to every, every little memory
- 1:22:42because right now she is not active.
- 1:22:46I see she's taking care of her mother.
- 1:22:48She's not as. Active.
- 1:22:50She said our moms were best friends when we were born and my
- 1:22:57sister goes there to Chicago more often than I do.
- 1:23:01She said Why doesn't she call us?
- 1:23:05They tore me up. I don't know why.
- 1:23:10But she should. It's just a phone call.
- 1:23:12That's why this, that's why this cause is so.
- 1:23:16Passionate to you, so you might want to.
- 1:23:20People. Might want to write a letter to.
- 1:23:22Somebody and and and and as far as the podcast goes, people need
- 1:23:28a a minute to say MFI hate that person.
- 1:23:35You know something. So Miss Vicki has a a a podcast
- 1:23:39she's getting ready to launch. And I say she's getting ready to
- 1:23:41launch because I'm her editor. There's and.
- 1:23:46There's going to be two episodes and.
- 1:23:49It her her first couple episodes is about grief and I'm going to
- 1:23:54let you roll that that video and and bear with us that that this
- 1:23:58sound is is is in a. A.
- 1:24:03Process. Now let's check it out.
- 1:24:06My uncle, dad and. Mom when I was 17.
- 1:24:11That caused quite an interruption in in my life and I
- 1:24:23want to introduce you to to somebody.
- 1:24:29We have a lot in common grief as as a matter of fact.
- 1:24:41She called me and she wanted to be empty.
- 1:24:50And so I feel like I want to share it, although that pain
- 1:24:58never goes away, although I'm going to always think about him
- 1:25:02day and night. You know, by the grace of God,
- 1:25:06he gives me the strength. To.
- 1:25:08Continue to live for what he has planned for me.
- 1:25:13I just want to say you look so beautiful today and I'm so very.
- 1:25:18Proud of. You and I'm just excited.
- 1:25:21I'm happy to be here and I'm happy.
- 1:25:22To be here. I'm happy to heal you and I'm
- 1:25:27smiling. This is really helping me see
- 1:25:31I'm just smiling. I'm crying at the same time.
- 1:25:33But they're they're not sad tears.
- 1:25:39It's all. Healing.
- 1:25:41It's all healing I believe every time I shed a.
- 1:25:44Tear. Just talking about my son
- 1:25:47thinking. About him, it's all healing.
- 1:25:52I can't. Even.
- 1:25:55Plus the people in he did my voice.
- 1:26:01I can't and. You'll do it.
- 1:26:03What little I have. I, I it's got to be, you know
- 1:26:07what to say. Yeah.
- 1:26:09Don't say nothing if you can't. They have nothing to say.
- 1:26:13And and that's part of the process.
- 1:26:15I believe that we're that's a part of healing.
- 1:26:18That's a part of God's mercy and His grace in our lives like
- 1:26:24He's. Showing his.
- 1:26:26His his grace through us with this, you know, and, and it's
- 1:26:32all it's a journey. It's a journey and you know, we
- 1:26:38just, I just pray that you know, people will have.
- 1:26:42An open heart. To be able to heal.
- 1:26:45We all have a story to tell, one that could change, heal, and.
- 1:26:48Inspire others. Are you ready to share?

- 1:28:50You would think, well, I. Mean, I'm sure if you like say,
- 1:28:52you'll fudge their numbers a bit like.
- 1:28:54You know, like hey, give me an hour, I'll give you 3, you know?
- 1:28:58Game that you have a. Game in the system our little.
- 1:29:00Negotiator over there. We're.
- 1:29:03We're. We're gonna.

- 1:29:48It in a sentence. You blue bloop, it is me.
- 1:29:56That that word bloop it my mind nothing.
- 1:29:59Go ahead. Come on.
- 1:29:59K man, what do you think about bloop it?
- 1:30:03I had to bloop it to fix it. That was good.
- 1:30:09All right. I just immediately think
- 1:30:11shenanigans. You know, like.
- 1:30:12That whatever you if you're blooping something, shenanigans
- 1:30:16are afoot, bloop it. I mean, it could be.
- 1:30:19It could be an alternative. To another word that's not FCC
- 1:30:23regulated, you know. Yeah, they bloop it.
- 1:30:26The FCC. The good old FCC.
- 1:30:29Regulations they. Don't even know where.
- 1:30:33Well, we're on second word. Cheese quake.
- 1:30:39Cheese Quake. Cheese Quake Cheese Quake A
- 1:30:46grilled cheese sandwich with three cheeses.
- 1:30:50I think that's what they that's what they would call it when
- 1:30:52Eddie Lacy. Would RIP off a lawn.
- 1:30:55Yeah, when he played for the, you know.
- 1:30:58I'm not. If anybody remembers Eddie
- 1:30:59Lacey, big. Dude that really played was
- 1:31:01running back for the Packers, but he was like, he was, you
- 1:31:05know, one girl cheese away from being an offensive lineman.
- 1:31:08He slipped through his career. He got chunkier and chunkier
- 1:31:11through his career too, man. What do you think, Papa H?
- 1:31:14Cheese Quake. Cheese Quake?

- 1:31:57What? How?
- 1:31:58Pride and joy? A boss in the fluffer Nutter.
- 1:32:00Is that the same as Nutter butter?
- 1:32:03No. It's a peanut butter sandwich,
- 1:32:05but instead of Jelly. You put marshmallow fluff, a
- 1:32:09pillow, a pillow that you land, a fluffer.
- 1:32:12Noodle. Yeah, thank God for the fluffer
- 1:32:14noodle. I didn't split my head open.
- 1:32:18The fire department deploys the fluffer.
- 1:32:20Noodle so people can. Safely jump out of the the
- 1:32:23burning building. Do you think we could start a
- 1:32:25trend with that? Like instead of saying.
- 1:32:27Fart. We call it a fluffer noodle.
- 1:32:30That's the new modification on the Swiffer Wet jet it.

- 1:33:03fishing like. And it's flying out of your
- 1:33:05mouth, right? You know, all of a sudden you're
- 1:33:08you. You got the bait, you got a
- 1:33:09little snag. And then all of a sudden you're
- 1:33:11like, I think a Nope, fish is just like another name.
- 1:33:15For a shark or a piranha, like if you get in the water and you
- 1:33:18see one of those that's a Nope fishing, you better get out of
- 1:33:20the water. Get out of the water.

- 1:35:28And yes, you, you have, you have so many passions and so much
- 1:35:31stuff to do. But I, I, I think we're on to
- 1:35:34our next segment. Well, I actually you feel my I
- 1:35:37got one more question, 'cause I'm I'm kind.
- 1:35:39Of treat these cooking classes. What?
- 1:35:40Oh, he's hungry. What are you?
- 1:35:41Yeah, me too. What are?

- 1:35:45Like? What are you showing people?
- 1:35:47Is it all types of stuff or do you kind of like have a yeah, a
- 1:35:50specific stuff, the seniors? They're going to cook for, for,
- 1:35:56for each other. You know, you can cook, cook
- 1:36:02Monday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday and serve it.
- 1:36:06And we we're going to serve it there and make it available for
- 1:36:10the community. OK, That's cool for.
- 1:36:14OK, OK. I thought you would.
- 1:36:16Maybe like tie it into your other causes too.
- 1:36:19Yeah, but yeah. And they can cook.
- 1:36:24Because I can BBQ. See I I can BBQ.
- 1:36:29Now I'm I'm almost. Sick every holiday that I'm not
- 1:36:32called on because I can BBQ a lot.
- 1:36:37Yeah, Yeah. And I don't have a BBQ station,
- 1:36:42you know, I don't have the the setup and everything, but it's
- 1:36:48it grieves me every holiday because that's when I cooked.
- 1:36:56So, yeah. All right.
- 1:37:00Thank you so much for sharing. Well.
- 1:37:02Thank you did I make? You guys hung for you?
- 1:37:05Yes. It did, Ike said.
- 1:37:07She had me a BBQ. I lost some good BBQ leathered
- 1:37:10in BBQ sauce so if. You're if you're an.
- 1:37:14Entity out there and you you have a.
- 1:37:16Kitchen or and you can handle some some some very very big
- 1:37:22personalities let us know reach out to NB radio or you can reach
- 1:37:28out to the morning wood show and house a a very.
- 1:37:34Unique. Cultural experience for our I'm
- 1:37:40going to call it wise community, right for our wise community and
- 1:37:45and you heard from Miss Vicki today that you know given given
- 1:37:50our our older generation and. And and our our wise.
- 1:37:56Generation something to look forward to monthly, weekly.
- 1:38:00And if you're that type of person out there that you know,
- 1:38:03you're feeling that little ache in your heart as you're hearing
- 1:38:05us talk, please reach out to MB Radio or the morning, which show
- 1:38:10on on Facebook. There was a big, there was a big
- 1:38:14positive on. That where I worked at General
- 1:38:17Motors, good friend of mine, his church on all the holidays that
- 1:38:23they're, they're catching, they take orders from the people in
- 1:38:26the factories. And his church really went
- 1:38:29ahead, way ahead. I mean, 75% of the people in our
- 1:38:35department, the other departments, I mean, they had as
- 1:38:37high as a couple 100 orders now. Yeah.
- 1:38:41So it was really a big positive. His church did great.
- 1:38:45Yeah. Churches.
- 1:38:46Moose lodges, Legions. So it would be a a really good
- 1:38:51private party. Yeah, I know one thing.
- 1:38:54My I work in a kitchen right now.
- 1:38:56And we're working on getting new glasses and plates and
- 1:38:59silverware. And my culinary director is just
- 1:39:02kind of given all the plates and silverware out.
- 1:39:05So I'll try and gather up as much as I can to help out.
- 1:39:08But I work at a assisted living facility, so in that kitchen
- 1:39:13there, but we try to make everything fancy.
- 1:39:15So it's some pretty nice plates, nice ceramic plates.
- 1:39:18Yeah. OK.
- 1:39:20Yeah, I do the keys where the factory.
- 1:39:22Is just. I'm not sure they'd want to take
- 1:39:25on that many orders. Yeah, the factory, I mean the
- 1:39:29factories in the. Indiana.
- 1:39:31You had. Chrysler and General Motors and
- 1:39:33a lot of the smaller factories and when I mean when you go in
- 1:39:37there to get orders, you get orders.
- 1:39:38But it's it's one thing. You're you're you're here for a
- 1:39:43reason. You know, and, and I hope the
- 1:39:45the universe hears our call. I hope so.
- 1:39:47Well, thank you. You did the biggest first.
- 1:39:50Step you got got out here and told us a little.
- 1:39:52Bit about your cause got out there in the world and so things
- 1:39:56will start to fall into place. I hope so yeah.
- 1:39:59All right, Holly, I'm going to take.
- 1:40:01It from here just cause. Your little, your little green
- 1:40:03stuff. I'm green.
- 1:40:04I'm green. I'm green.
- 1:40:06We've come to that time. In our show, we are going to go.
- 1:40:09To our tribute to the troops. And when we come back, we'll
- 1:40:13have our final thoughts as we send you off on this lovely
- 1:40:18Friday, June 6th, remembering D-Day, the 81st anniversary.
- 1:40:25We'll be right back with you on military broadcast Radio Detail
- 1:40:29attention. First call the service member's
- 1:40:36name is called out loud. In the context of a unit, this

- 1:40:54Time followed by a. Statement.
- 1:40:55Indicating that the service member is not present and
- 1:40:58accounted for, signifying their death, the final roll call
- 1:41:02serves as a symbolic gesture to respect and remember their

- 1:41:19Telling their people with these men did here.
- 1:41:22You tell them. How much hoopers died?

- 1:44:26Belly, tail. Kenton.
- 1:44:28Ready. heard.
- 1:48:50MBR. Talk.
- 1:48:53Hey, thanks for tuning in. Welcome back.
- 1:48:56Are those of the speakers and do not.
- 1:48:58Necessarily reflect the views or positions of any entities they
- 1:49:03represent the web at MB radio dot.
- 1:49:09All right, we are back. Ladies and gentlemen, we are
- 1:49:11back. Broadcasting from Veteran Voices
- 1:49:15Studios here in Denver, Co And don't worry, Papa H, Miss Vicki,
- 1:49:21they're they're still in the background.
- 1:49:24Miss Vicki, thank you so much for being with us.
- 1:49:27I learned a lot about you so and I think it's been a good debut
- 1:49:31show for you today. I was asking you on the break,
- 1:49:35how does it, how does it feel to, to get get back into it?
- 1:49:39It's been a couple of years. It has been a couple of years
- 1:49:41for sure. But it it's a, it's a good
- 1:49:43heartbeat. It's it's nice to see the system
- 1:49:45in place here too, where you know, there's there's a little
- 1:49:48structure. It's not a free for all, which
- 1:49:51thank goodness for that. You know you've you've got 2.
- 1:49:56Great great buddies here. On your sound and and you know
- 1:50:01keeping everything's ready to queue and super appreciate it.
- 1:50:05I I can't wait for stuff to get more fun.
- 1:50:08I I had fun with the word Blair. I thought that was funny.
- 1:50:12We got to do that every week. That's I'm going to be putting.
- 1:50:18Up like Wilt Chamberlain numbers.
- 1:50:22You did good. I'm going to.
- 1:50:23Be. I'm going to be so on my.
- 1:50:26Back I'm going to be. Just, you know.
- 1:50:28Like shooting like left leg fade away, like right shoulder type
- 1:50:32jumpers, just like that, you know, and I'm not even a left
- 1:50:36fade jumper guy. He's just weird in a sentence
- 1:50:39and and you know. While we were on break so.
- 1:50:42A friend of mine, they, they messaged on Facebook ask him
- 1:50:46about the hair and let me explain to you the reason why I
- 1:50:50do the, the hair thing a long, long, long time ago.
- 1:50:55I have a friend that had cancer. She, she had shaved her hair off
- 1:51:00all that stuff. And you know, me and her were
- 1:51:03all bald and stuff. And I brought it up to her not
- 1:51:07too long ago. You know about the the feelings
- 1:51:12that you have to go through when you go through that candy, like
- 1:51:17it's scary. You don't know the end result.
- 1:51:19I was a hairdresser for 20 years right when I had a.
- 1:51:23Client that was like my hair's all over my outfit and I had a
- 1:51:28room upstairs that we would go in in the eye.
- 1:51:31It's, it's, it's nothing that wine's going to help, you know,
- 1:51:35it's, it's a, it's, it's, it's something that it's, it's hard
- 1:51:40to see somebody to go through, But Can you imagine being the
- 1:51:43person with the Clippers in your head too?
- 1:51:45You know, so when it comes to you being H and, and you showing
- 1:51:50up, you know, with, with, with, with your, you're just getting
- 1:51:53your H on, right. So if anybody has anything to
- 1:51:56say about your cool braids, you know, or when they want to come
- 1:52:00brush it. And that's the thing about it.
- 1:52:02Like I want to, I want to, I want to kind of.
- 1:52:04Stop the stigma when it comes to like wigs or something, you
- 1:52:07know, you know, like 3's company and all those different old
- 1:52:11shows, you know, they used to make jokes about the toupee and
- 1:52:14stuff. And like cancer is a really big
- 1:52:17issue in the United States and there's a lot of people that
- 1:52:22have a hard time, especially women when they don't have hair.
- 1:52:25So when they have somebody looking like a goofy person like
- 1:52:28me, it takes their thoughts away from them being awkward to well
- 1:52:35shit, this guy is doing this. What do I need to be feel
- 1:52:38awkward about? And that's the reason why I wear
- 1:52:41the hair is because if I can look good and look stupid, you
- 1:52:46can look good and look stupid at the same time.
- 1:52:49And I fully support anybody that's going through that
- 1:52:54because it's not their fault that they can't grow hair.
- 1:52:57And we need to, we need to cut, we need to kick out the, the
- 1:53:01hair stigma, you know, Oh, well, he's wearing a what, what, you
- 1:53:04know, kind of thing. I think society needs to just
- 1:53:07grow in. More acceptance in seeing people
- 1:53:11for who they are, not for what they're wearing.
- 1:53:14Like, you know, people wear hats, people wear wigs.
- 1:53:17People are are and, and I, I'm digging it.
- 1:53:20I'm digging it. A lot of people are digging it.
- 1:53:23People are digging. It that don't really know me
- 1:53:27like when they learn when when they when they first meet me,
- 1:53:30they're like, oh, you know, this is kind of awesome kind of
- 1:53:32thing. But people that know me and you
- 1:53:35know, you like my like you and my dad the other day when we
- 1:53:38were taking a group photo and I'm like, I'll even take one
- 1:53:41without my hair. And he's like, yeah, you know,
- 1:53:43my wife doesn't like the hair, but you know, it's because they
- 1:53:47know me. You know, if if, if you meet
- 1:53:50somebody and you have to understand, if you meet somebody
- 1:53:52that you don't even know, like that's a first impression.
- 1:53:57I, I, I'm, I'm going to kibosh this.
- 1:53:58I don't think anybody. Anybody is deserved an
- 1:54:02explanation. I think that you should wear
- 1:54:06which makes you feel good. I think you should like when it
- 1:54:09comes to shoes, you're not going to see me in high heels.
- 1:54:12No thank you. Like serious no thank you
- 1:54:15because I, I'm all about comfort and you just you live within,
- 1:54:19you know, a certain amount of years where people's opinions is
- 1:54:23less and less so me H the the, the HR nightmare, the braided
- 1:54:29blonde wonder. Yeah.
- 1:54:31Nothing wrong with asking. Either, I mean, it's a very.
- 1:54:34Clear, very clear indication of tone and timing too.
- 1:54:37You can speak your truth as long as you know how.
- 1:54:40There's that. But what?
- 1:54:42But what gives you the opinion? Button you know let people be
- 1:54:46but for for talk reasons have to the yeah but you know it it it
- 1:54:52you you don't know after you ask that what that person's spin of
- 1:54:56thought process is after they set free from that discussion
- 1:55:00with you. Did you just make them feel
- 1:55:02self-conscious because of you've picked something out and is that
- 1:55:05pocket on your shirt orange for a reason yes because that's
- 1:55:08where I keep my banana peel you know so it's one of those it's
- 1:55:13it's. It's I, I'm just saying, you
- 1:55:15know? So if you're criticizing
- 1:55:17someone's banana peel pocket, I mean, you need to.
- 1:55:19Completely your life. What are you doing a banana in?
- 1:55:23The tail pot throw. Your cruelty is.
- 1:55:26Throw your banana peel out of your.
- 1:55:27Pocket and hope they slip on it. That's what you get for being so
- 1:55:32meanly. Curious.
- 1:55:33But I mean. Honestly, because people are
- 1:55:36super expressive right now. We've we've got pride coming up
- 1:55:39and I can tell you even just being in in the grocery store
- 1:55:43seeing like full rainbows and hair and fuzz and and I'm like,
- 1:55:47yay. I love it when people are who
- 1:55:50they are, you know, do it. Yeah, don't be, don't be scared.
- 1:55:54Do it. Do it don't be scared hey before
- 1:55:58we leave, before we go to final thoughts.
- 1:56:00If you are a first responder, if you are a veteran and I I want
- 1:56:06to key in the first responder because we don't do enough for
- 1:56:10first responders. We really don't July 4th we're
- 1:56:13doing skydiving. How do you do skydiving?
- 1:56:16You send us a video or a testimony bio of your life and
- 1:56:21indicate why does jumping out of a plane what why is it important
- 1:56:26to you? And I'll tell you the reason why
- 1:56:27I started the July 4th skydiving a long time ago is because
- 1:56:31sometimes people need a, a purpose or a reason to say, OK,
- 1:56:37you know what? Today, today, mark this day,
- 1:56:40mark this day, I'm not going to let my disability affect my life
- 1:56:45anymore. And then once we go out of that
- 1:56:49plane and they feel that, you know, that everlasting feeling
- 1:56:52like you just been baptized it, it, it does something to you,
- 1:56:57You know, it's not just jumping out of the sky.
- 1:56:59You know, everybody's like, well, you know, if you jump out
- 1:57:01of the sky, why, why jump out of a perfectly good airplane?
- 1:57:05Because you're proving to yourself that you can do
- 1:57:10whatever you want to do. And that's the best way to do
- 1:57:13it. So that's what the skydiving is
- 1:57:15for. And if you want to be a part of
- 1:57:18it, especially if you're a police officer or a firefighter,
- 1:57:20you don't have to be disabled. Send us that shit.
- 1:57:23We'll we'll worry about trying to, you know, raise money to fly
- 1:57:27you in or whatever. Send that stuff in.
- 1:57:30Let's get that. In there and join.
- 1:57:33US July 4th as we skydive and we mark our independence from our
- 1:57:38disability. So this this is a contest for
- 1:57:42supportive. Veterans and our first
- 1:57:44responders, our first responders and.
- 1:57:47They're. How how many available?
- 1:57:50How, how well, right, right now we're, we're right.
- 1:57:54Now we're going. For.
- 1:57:55Six, we're Charles Deeds. He's our, he's our donator
- 1:58:00coordinator. He's working with both of these
- 1:58:03different companies. There's a there's an outfit in
- 1:58:07PA and there's an outfit here in Colorado.
- 1:58:09We're kind of trying to hit two birds with one stone.
- 1:58:14But you know, like I said, we need those testimonies, we need
- 1:58:17those videos and come on out and let's let's have a ball.
- 1:58:21And where are they sending these videos?
- 1:58:23They are sending it to manager. At MB radio dot US I'll put.
- 1:58:26It up there. There we go.
- 1:58:29All right, it is that time. Everybody.
- 1:58:31It is the final thoughts. 554433. 211 we have ignition
- 1:58:44stripping. It's the two.
- 1:58:45Minute warning. Minute warning, what are you not
- 1:58:54at? Project ML Gratitude.
- 1:58:56Our mission is. Simple to give motorcycles.
- 1:58:59To veterans who need the. Kind of peace and freedom that.
- 1:59:01Only. A ride can give, all right, Hey.
- 1:59:05And I tell you what, there we. Have June 14th you can be able
- 1:59:11to be there at the ride where we'll be giving a free
- 1:59:15motorcycle away to a veteran where she's giving basically a
- 1:59:19free motorcycle every month to a veteran.
- 1:59:21It's an amazing nonprofit, and until you have felt wind
- 1:59:27therapy, don't judge until you try it.
- 1:59:30That's all I can say. Don't judge until you try it.
- 1:59:32But we have came up to that. And you know, the first person
- 1:59:36we're going to ask is you. Miss Vicki, what did you learn?
- 1:59:39Today I learned. That most things are not
- 1:59:49personal. Most things are not personal,
- 1:59:52OK? When you when you have business.
- 1:59:56Extended an invitation to just show up, but you you don't know
- 2:00:01what. Yep, you never know what what's
- 2:00:04going to happen. It's funny, I feel the same way.
- 2:00:09Today or roller. Coaster ride.
- 2:00:12Put your hands up. Right.
- 2:00:15Why did today went well though? Blast.
- 2:00:18I had a blast. Everything's a work in progress,
- 2:00:20but. You know, I'll tell you my final
- 2:00:23thoughts. Super appreciation for everybody
- 2:00:27with the heart of the cause here today for giving veterans a
- 2:00:30voice and and and seeing the dynamic duo over here and then
- 2:00:35you and just feel like feeling like I'm I'm getting closer than
- 2:00:41you know most when it comes to settling in getting back into
- 2:00:45the business. So I my final thoughts is just
- 2:00:51I'm I'm happy. I'm going to let the.
- 2:00:52Universe take the wheel. HG Caveman.
- 2:00:57What did you guys learn? Today, kind of similar to Holly,
- 2:01:01just kind of go with the flow. Don't kind of do what you want
- 2:01:05to do and like. Wait for good things to.
- 2:01:07Happen and eventually stuff will.
- 2:01:10This takes a little bit of time. Came in an HD, they're like it's
- 2:01:14finally fun. On Fridays again, yeah, I
- 2:01:18learned I'm go to that word blurt so I'm.
- 2:01:22I'm ready to go. That's good to be my favorite
- 2:01:24undefeated champion so far for a while, yeah.
- 2:01:29And then I won't, I won't make him get on Mike, but.
- 2:01:32If Papa H is back there, what did you learn?
- 2:01:34Papa H? Oh, I think he's out there.
- 2:01:39Oh, that's. OK.
- 2:01:41That's all right. A lot of.
- 2:01:42Good stories. Hell yeah we did.
- 2:01:44He's gone with the wind. Well, it is.
- 2:01:47That time, everybody. It is that time for.
- 2:01:50Us to get out of here because they're going to cut us off on
- 2:01:53DV radio and Sky Radio eventually.
