- 0:02Speaker 1: On Scoring Lives Australia. This is the Da Panee Show.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Good evening and welcome to the Rita panihe Show. I'm
- 0:11Speaker 2: Caroline Marcus. Coming up tonight. The ABC is flooded with
- 0:16Speaker 2: complaints over its Middle East coverage. Will show you the
- 0:19Speaker 2: most complained about segments. Shortly, the CEO of Ford warns
- 0:24Speaker 2: the government's new carbon taxes could drive its engineering and
- 0:28Speaker 2: design teams straight out of Australia. We'll speak to Josh
- 0:33Speaker 2: Hammer about why the newly named Supreme Leader of Iran
- 0:36Speaker 2: shouldn't get too comfortable in the job. Prince Harry and
- 0:40Speaker 2: Meghan Markle are planning another trip down under amid her
- 0:44Speaker 2: dumping from Netflix, and lefties are now embracing their Trump
- 0:49Speaker 2: derangement syndrome like a demented badge of honor.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Keep fact Trump. If you listen to this, you listen good,
- 0:56Speaker 3: because where I'm getting ready to say is what a
- 0:59Speaker 3: lot of peaceeople in this country speak for. Who I
- 1:01Speaker 3: speak for, and I speak for a lot of people
- 1:04Speaker 3: here me you fat.
- 1:07Speaker 2: But let's start with the war in the Middle East.
- 1:09Speaker 2: And there's been lots of developments in the past twenty
- 1:11Speaker 2: four hours, but one of the key revelations has been
- 1:14Speaker 2: Israel's disclosure about why it first struck Iran late last month.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sar has told the Zionis Federation
- 1:24Speaker 2: of Australia in a zoom address that the attacks were
- 1:27Speaker 2: driven by intelligence Tehran was planning to relocate its nuclear
- 1:32Speaker 2: facilities deep underground, beyond the reach of any air force.
- 1:37Speaker 2: He said, we would have stood in a hopeless situation
- 1:40Speaker 2: where Iran could just decide they want to be nuclear
- 1:44Speaker 2: and you couldn't attack them from the air. That would
- 1:46Speaker 2: be a desperate situation. This is why we decided the
- 1:50Speaker 2: Security Cabinet unanimously to take action, and to do it now.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Joining me to discuss this and more of the day's
- 1:58Speaker 2: headlines is Sky News contributor Louise Roberts and Better and
- 2:02Speaker 2: broadcaster and journalists DD Don'tlivy welcome both of you ladies, now, Louise.
- 2:08Speaker 2: There's been a lot of analysis and questioning as to
- 2:12Speaker 2: what prompted the preemptive strikes from both Israel and the US,
- 2:16Speaker 2: and a lot of analysis and challenging of the legality,
- 2:22Speaker 2: the so called legality of this action, particularly by our
- 2:26Speaker 2: own ABC. But if Israeli intelligence is accurate here and
- 2:31Speaker 2: it often is. It's very good. This move to fortify
- 2:35Speaker 2: Around's nuclear weapons and program from future attacks, well, that
- 2:40Speaker 2: is really endangering peace on a global scale, and surely
- 2:46Speaker 2: they would have had no choice but to act.
- 2:48Speaker 4: I agree, And certainly Trump's agenda here is willpeace. Let's
- 2:51Speaker 4: not forget that. It's not just about aggression. And for Israel,
- 2:54Speaker 4: I think this was a tactic for survival, not aggression
- 2:57Speaker 4: as well. And they acted before the window before Iran
- 3:01Speaker 4: moved all this, you know, weaponry and missiles and yuke's
- 3:05Speaker 4: underground into a bunker which we may never have found.
- 3:07Speaker 4: And they've been very clear about their mission, which is
- 3:09Speaker 4: to obliterate Israel. So had Israel not acted first, well peace,
- 3:14Speaker 4: we wouldn't have. It would be an absolute chaos. I mean,
- 3:16Speaker 4: Iran and nukes together is a recipe for disaster, isn't it?
- 3:19Speaker 2: Yeah? Absolutely, And it's interesting to me the countries that
- 3:22Speaker 2: are sticking up for a run like having a nuclear
- 3:25Speaker 2: weapon is somehow they're right in other countries, we cannot
- 3:29Speaker 2: allow that to happen, did he. We've also seen in
- 3:33Speaker 2: the past twenty four hours last day or so, the
- 3:37Speaker 2: Iranian regime finally announced it's new supreme leader. It's the
- 3:42Speaker 2: son of the late ayotole A Taba Hamine. He is
- 3:46Speaker 2: going to be their man in the role and a
- 3:49Speaker 2: bit of a nepotism baby, I guess you could say
- 3:52Speaker 2: Israel and the US have flagged though already he won't
- 3:55Speaker 2: last long. They will take him out if he is
- 4:00Speaker 2: I'm not going to follow what they want, which you
- 4:03Speaker 2: dare say, he's not going to someone who's the son
- 4:05Speaker 2: of the Ayatola. What do we know about this guy?
- 4:09Speaker 5: Oh, well, he's a very dangerous man, and he's said
- 4:12Speaker 5: to be even more radical than his father, with a
- 4:15Speaker 5: deeper hatred of the US. And bear in mind that
- 4:19Speaker 5: in the US Israeli strikes that not only was his
- 4:22Speaker 5: father killed, but his mother, his wife, and one of
- 4:25Speaker 5: his sons as well. He's got no previous government experience
- 4:29Speaker 5: as such, and so you have to wonder, Well, it's
- 4:33Speaker 5: entirely conceivable that the Iranian National Iranian forces, who he
- 4:38Speaker 5: is closely aligned with, that they've pushed him forward.
- 4:42Speaker 6: The Iranian Revolutionary Guard apologize that they've pushed.
- 4:46Speaker 5: Him forward and that he's just there to do their bidding,
- 4:50Speaker 5: that whatever they tell him to do, they've not got.
- 4:52Speaker 6: A person in a seat of power.
- 4:55Speaker 5: And I do know he's got a personal wealth of
- 4:57Speaker 5: over three billion dollars. How he creates that we'll never
- 5:00Speaker 5: know owns a millions of dollars worth of property in London.
- 5:04Speaker 5: So I just want to wish Sakias Starma well with
- 5:08Speaker 5: that particular citizen.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, well, he's Sakis Starmer hasn't exactly been too
- 5:13Speaker 2: clear on which side he sits on himself. Maybe he's
- 5:16Speaker 2: trying to be welcoming to his neighbor there, tity. Let's
- 5:20Speaker 2: talk about the disturbing footage that's emerged of the Iranian
- 5:23Speaker 2: women's soccer team bus as it left a Gold Coast
- 5:27Speaker 2: stadium last night, showing what appears to be one of
- 5:29Speaker 2: the players making the international sign for help. The clip
- 5:34Speaker 2: has renewed calls for Australia to intervene here, calls that
- 5:38Speaker 2: Foreign Minister Penny Wong won't say whether she's answered.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Is it safe for them to return home?
- 5:46Speaker 7: I want to say about the Iranian women's team that
- 5:50Speaker 7: it has been really moving for Australians to see them
- 5:54Speaker 7: in Australia. We stand in solidarity with the men and
- 5:58Speaker 7: women of Iran and particular Iranian women and girls. I
- 6:02Speaker 7: don't want to get into commentary about the Iranian women's
- 6:08Speaker 7: team Louise.
- 6:10Speaker 2: After refusing to sing the anthem at their first match,
- 6:13Speaker 2: they were branded wartime traitors on state Iranian TV and
- 6:19Speaker 2: it was said that they are deserving of serious punishment.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I mean, you'd have to say, there's no doubt that
- 6:27Speaker 2: their lives are at risk if they had back home.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Should we be doing something more to help these women?
- 6:32Speaker 4: I think well, the Foreign Medicine needs to be a
- 6:34Speaker 4: bit more decisive in her comments rather than saying I'm
- 6:37Speaker 4: not going to make any comment about them. I mean, clearly,
- 6:39Speaker 4: if you've got them in buses making help signals, it's
- 6:43Speaker 4: absolutely harrowing. And I do feel a bone chilling fate
- 6:46Speaker 4: awaits these athletes when they go back to Iran, even
- 6:48Speaker 4: if they go via Turkey, because we know that it
- 6:50Speaker 4: already a national footballer and a referee were murdered by
- 6:53Speaker 4: the regime four speaking out, so they already have blood
- 6:56Speaker 4: on their hands and no matter who's now taken up
- 6:58Speaker 4: the cudgel, there definitely at risk. To see them fight
- 7:04Speaker 4: against you know, seeing the national anthem and then have
- 7:07Speaker 4: to see the national anthem was absolutely heartbreaking out very
- 7:10Speaker 4: harrowing to watch them because you could see they were
- 7:12Speaker 4: most of them were dead eyed and very frightened and.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Do the salute. On top of that, there was no
- 7:17Speaker 2: doubt that words were said in their ear. You have
- 7:19Speaker 2: to make up for what you did the first time.
- 7:22Speaker 2: You're right, it was harrowing, did he Assistant Foreign Minister
- 7:25Speaker 2: Foreign Affairs spokesman Matt there's a way he's somewhat walked
- 7:29Speaker 2: back comments that he made earlier that the government could
- 7:32Speaker 2: not give these players preferential treatment. He's now said, like
- 7:36Speaker 2: Penny Wong, he can't make any comments about this. He
- 7:39Speaker 2: said he didn't want to prejudice any decisions later on.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Do you think that this is a positive sign that
- 7:45Speaker 2: maybe there are things happening behind the scenes.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Look, I want to believe that there are negotiations going
- 7:51Speaker 5: on that we're not being made privy to, and that
- 7:54Speaker 5: would be okay if that was happening, But I don't
- 7:56Speaker 5: have the confidence that it is.
- 7:58Speaker 6: And it must be terrifying for these young women.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Most of them are only maybe twenty three, twenty four,
- 8:03Speaker 5: they've never been outside of Iran before, and they're faced
- 8:06Speaker 5: with the prospect of if they do try and seek
- 8:09Speaker 5: asylum and stay here in Australia, what will happen to
- 8:11Speaker 5: their families back home, who have very likely been detained
- 8:17Speaker 5: as a sort of a means to put pressure on
- 8:19Speaker 5: them to come back home again.
- 8:21Speaker 6: I've got questions too.
- 8:22Speaker 5: About the people, the officials who are surrounding this team.
- 8:25Speaker 5: They're cutting them off their communications, their phones, They're not
- 8:28Speaker 5: being allowed to speak to anyone else. Those people are
- 8:31Speaker 5: clearly doing the bidding of the Iranian government, and so
- 8:35Speaker 5: how are they able to exercise that sort of control
- 8:39Speaker 5: on Australian soil. Tracy Holmes on her substack has been
- 8:43Speaker 5: doing some excellent reporting on this particular issue, and she's
- 8:46Speaker 5: reported today that the women are being denied access to
- 8:50Speaker 5: a human rights lawyer. So it just becomes more and
- 8:52Speaker 5: more concerning, and I feel for these poor girls.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Let's hope that their futures they don't have to head back,
- 9:00Speaker 2: and if they do that they're safe. But I don't
- 9:03Speaker 2: have a lot of hope for that if they have
- 9:05Speaker 2: to go back. Look, let's talk now about the coalition
- 9:08Speaker 2: and the Australian reports that the opposition is considering forcing
- 9:12Speaker 2: people who appeal their visa cancelations to do so in
- 9:16Speaker 2: their country of origin, rather than be allowed to remain
- 9:19Speaker 2: here on bridging visas while the legal process plays out.
- 9:23Speaker 2: The paper also reports the Coalition as likely to propose
- 9:26Speaker 2: an extra layer of vetting for visa applicants from countries
- 9:30Speaker 2: with high levels of radicalization. Did I'll come to you
- 9:34Speaker 2: first on this one. I would imagine this would be
- 9:37Speaker 2: an easy vote winner for the Coalition. Australians is sick
- 9:40Speaker 2: of lawyers and migration agents weaponizing our legal system, that
- 9:45Speaker 2: concerned about national security. If you look at any of
- 9:48Speaker 2: the recent polls, especially after what happened in BONDI surely
- 9:52Speaker 2: this is a winning policy.
- 9:54Speaker 6: I absolutely agree with you, Caroline. Idiots. We've got more
- 9:56Speaker 6: than one hundred thousand.
- 9:58Speaker 5: Asylum seekers currently on Australian soil, and the lawyers and
- 10:02Speaker 5: the migration agents are finding those loopholes, and we really
- 10:06Speaker 5: need a crack down on people who are saying that
- 10:09Speaker 5: they're coming here to study something in particular or work
- 10:11Speaker 5: in some particular way and then changing that once they're here.
- 10:15Speaker 5: But stay in your own home until your visa is clear.
- 10:18Speaker 5: That's the way it should work. And we need an
- 10:21Speaker 5: overhaul of the migration Act. It was written back in
- 10:23Speaker 5: nineteen fifty eight. It's stale and musty and definitely needs
- 10:27Speaker 5: an update. But as you said, I agree it's a
- 10:29Speaker 5: vote winner.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Well, I hope that they follow through with it. I
- 10:32Speaker 2: think they'd be mad if they didn't. Look, it's been
- 10:35Speaker 2: revealed the ABC has copped a deluge of negative feedback
- 10:40Speaker 2: about its Middle East coverage, driving more than fifty percent
- 10:44Speaker 2: rise and complaints in the six months to December thirty. First,
- 10:48Speaker 2: they were the three thousand and forty three complaints specifically
- 10:52Speaker 2: about ABC content in that period, up from two thousand
- 10:55Speaker 2: and eight complaints the year before. And the segment that
- 10:59Speaker 2: drew the most plants was Sarah Ferguson's seven point thirty
- 11:02Speaker 2: interview with former Treasurer Josh Fredenberg following the Bondi tarror
- 11:07Speaker 2: attack last year. Let's remind you.
- 11:09Speaker 8: Of that exchange, widely viewed as inevitable that you will
- 11:14Speaker 8: return to politics. How do we not see this through
- 11:19Speaker 8: a political lens. I mean the case that you're making
- 11:23Speaker 8: a personal case against the Prime minister.
- 11:25Speaker 9: I'm deeply offended by what you just said. I'm deeply offended.
- 11:29Speaker 9: Explain that, and you know what, there was a man
- 11:32Speaker 9: called Murray Watt, who sits on the labor front bench,
- 11:35Speaker 9: who tried to say that about a year ago, and
- 11:38Speaker 9: then labor ministers like Mike Kelly and others he hear
- 11:42Speaker 9: me who came out and said exactly what I'm about
- 11:46Speaker 9: to say, which is that is an insult. That is
- 11:49Speaker 9: an insult to say that there's any political motivation in this.
- 11:54Speaker 2: It was extraordinary. But another moment which drew fierce audience
- 11:58Speaker 2: criticism was on Hardcore Is, hosted by Tom Gleeson.
- 12:03Speaker 10: The Social network opens with Mark Zuckerberg getting dumped by
- 12:06Speaker 10: his girlfriend, who tells him that if girls don't like him,
- 12:09Speaker 10: it's because he's an asshole, not because he's a what
- 12:14Speaker 10: it's wide open, Mike, do increase Its still wide open? Quick?
- 12:27Speaker 10: Someone feel the awkward silence? Time's up, Nerd, Yeah, it's.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I mean, if leaving that in there wasn't bad enough,
- 12:40Speaker 2: all the laughter that continued afterwards just compounded at Louise.
- 12:44Speaker 2: The ABC Onbudsman cleared the broadcaster for both segments. They
- 12:48Speaker 2: did take down that hard quiz one off IVY, but
- 12:52Speaker 2: said that was just due to rising sensitivities after the attack.
- 12:55Speaker 2: But clearly that sort of anti Semitism is never, of
- 13:00Speaker 2: course not.
- 13:01Speaker 4: I mean the ABC always seems to be responding to
- 13:03Speaker 4: pressure rather than having this consistent you know, playbook or
- 13:07Speaker 4: consistent rules whatever the new cycle. You don't suddenly decide
- 13:09Speaker 4: it's bad because it's bad for the new cycle at
- 13:11Speaker 4: the moment. I mean, you watched that footage and he
- 13:13Speaker 4: absolutely wins the laughter as you say, and the host
- 13:16Speaker 4: is laughing. And the fact they broadcast that it doesn't matter.
- 13:18Speaker 4: They've taken off the website. The damage is done. And
- 13:21Speaker 4: I mean to Sarah Ferguson's interview with Josh was just
- 13:25Speaker 4: even now. I would say it's one of the worst
- 13:27Speaker 4: things I've seen on TV. The way she made him square,
- 13:29Speaker 4: and when we know his grief was so visceral and real,
- 13:33Speaker 4: for her to politicize in that way is absolutely appalling.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Did he I agree with Louise, I think that it
- 13:39Speaker 2: was fair to ask a question in a certain way,
- 13:42Speaker 2: But it was the way she put the question and
- 13:44Speaker 2: continued to try, as she often does, to interrupt the
- 13:48Speaker 2: former treasurer as he was trying to answer that question
- 13:51Speaker 2: that exacerbated the offense. I think in the first.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Place, absolutely, And he's a man who's used to the
- 13:57Speaker 5: Rothham tumble of politics and being asked all sorts of
- 14:00Speaker 5: things at different times, and even he looked like he
- 14:05Speaker 5: was struggling to gather himself to maintain his decorum, which
- 14:09Speaker 5: he did and ieolute him for doing that. It's interesting
- 14:12Speaker 5: that four out of the top five most complained about
- 14:16Speaker 5: programs on the ABC news and current affairs content, and
- 14:21Speaker 5: you know when you turn on the ABC you're going
- 14:23Speaker 5: to get lefty content.
- 14:24Speaker 6: So I'm actually slightly baffled by these.
- 14:26Speaker 5: Statistics because is if the lefties who are watching it,
- 14:29Speaker 5: who have finally had enough and their complaining, I mean,
- 14:32Speaker 5: who are these complaints coming from.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Well, in terms of the Middle East coverage, interestingly, it's
- 14:37Speaker 2: pretty divided, people saying they're two pro Palestinian, two pro
- 14:41Speaker 2: Is around me. To be honest, I can't see how
- 14:44Speaker 2: anyone could say they're two pro Is well, but that
- 14:46Speaker 2: just tells you how far to the left many of
- 14:49Speaker 2: their viewers and their bases. But look, they receive taxpayer funding,
- 14:53Speaker 2: don't they, And they are meant to be impartial, and
- 14:56Speaker 2: so their news needs to meet those editorial standards. Did
- 14:59Speaker 2: he done? Leave the Roberts? Thank you both so much
- 15:01Speaker 2: for your time. Joining me in our is geologist and
- 15:07Speaker 2: author professor in plimber Ian. Great to have you again.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Australians are now facing fuel rationing and exorbitant prices at
- 15:15Speaker 2: the pump as petrol and diesel wholesalers scramble to manage
- 15:19Speaker 2: fuel supplies. United Petroleum, one of the nation's largest wholesalers,
- 15:24Speaker 2: has already suspended its normal fuel allocations nationwide while it
- 15:28Speaker 2: reviews stock levels and the current risks due to the
- 15:30Speaker 2: conflict in the Middle East, and some economists are even
- 15:34Speaker 2: forecasting prices at the bowser will surpass three dollars a
- 15:38Speaker 2: liter in Chris Bowen. Meanwhile, he's been reassuring us everything
- 15:42Speaker 2: is going to be fine.
- 15:45Speaker 11: But the government has been warned about this for at
- 15:48Speaker 11: least two decades. We don't have enough fuel in storage
- 15:52Speaker 11: in this country. To exacerbate that, we've slowed down exploration
- 15:57Speaker 11: for oil and for gas. To make it even more,
- 16:00Speaker 11: we've gone some eight refineries to two refineries. And mister
- 16:04Speaker 11: Bowen is in Lalla Land. We have a crisis in
- 16:08Speaker 11: this country. We don't have enough petroleum to keep this
- 16:11Speaker 11: country going now. We need diesel to take food from
- 16:15Speaker 11: warehouses to supermarkets. We need diesel to plow, to plant,
- 16:20Speaker 11: to seed, to harvest, and to bring our crops to
- 16:24Speaker 11: the cities for people to eat. So we've been talking
- 16:29Speaker 11: about this for decades. Nothing has happened, and this is
- 16:33Speaker 11: the hallmark of the government. Nothing has happened on the
- 16:36Speaker 11: major strategic issues in this country. So I think we
- 16:40Speaker 11: can suffer higher fuel prices. You also have to bear
- 16:44Speaker 11: in mind that petrol is cheaper than say buying wine,
- 16:49Speaker 11: or buying beer, or buying some bottled water or some
- 16:53Speaker 11: fermented soft drinks. Now it's a very, very complex and
- 16:57Speaker 11: expensive process to go from ex exploration to actually putting
- 17:01Speaker 11: petrol or diesel into your car. And mister Baron's solution
- 17:05Speaker 11: is going to be a simple one.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Just wait for it.
- 17:07Speaker 11: He'll tell us, I'll forget driving petrol cars start to
- 17:11Speaker 11: drive electric cars.
- 17:13Speaker 1: We have been let down badly by our government.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Well we're already hearing that from some sections of the
- 17:19Speaker 2: government too, that ivy cars should be the answer. Well,
- 17:22Speaker 2: they're clearly not going to be for everyone, especially in
- 17:24Speaker 2: a country like ours doesn't have the infrastructure. And the
- 17:28Speaker 2: CEO of Ford has blasted the Albanese government's new carbon
- 17:31Speaker 2: taxes on vehicles wanting the high extra costs on the
- 17:35Speaker 2: company may put its Australian based engineering and design team
- 17:39Speaker 2: of fifteen hundred workers at risk. Speaking while at the
- 17:43Speaker 2: Grand Prix over the weekend, Jim Farley said, it's a
- 17:47Speaker 2: choice because that engineering can be done in a lot
- 17:50Speaker 2: of other places cheaper and faster here in Australia versus
- 17:54Speaker 2: China or Vietnam or other places. There is a premium
- 17:57Speaker 2: for innovation, so we're willing to pay. But your government
- 18:01Speaker 2: has to decide if they want engineers in their country
- 18:04Speaker 2: or do you want a country of hairdressers and bankers.
- 18:08Speaker 2: And I love a good hairdresser. And don't get me wrong,
- 18:11Speaker 2: but Ford is one of the few carmakers that still
- 18:13Speaker 2: designs and engineers. It's car from the ground up in Australia,
- 18:17Speaker 2: even if they don't manufacture them here anymore. But now
- 18:20Speaker 2: it looks like Albanize is apparent preference for these Chinese
- 18:24Speaker 2: evs will force what is left of Ford out of
- 18:27Speaker 2: the country.
- 18:28Speaker 11: Well, that's quite correct, and we just had a lesson
- 18:31Speaker 11: in reality Ford and trying to give the government a
- 18:34Speaker 11: fundamental economic lesson. Now I like to have the choice,
- 18:38Speaker 11: do I want to buy a petrol vehicle. Do I
- 18:41Speaker 11: want to buy diesel vehicle? Do I want to buy
- 18:43Speaker 11: an EV? Do I want to buy something can go
- 18:45Speaker 11: out back? Do I want to buy something to go
- 18:47Speaker 11: from the house to the local supermarket. We are having
- 18:51Speaker 11: that choice denied by governments and they're forcing us to
- 18:54Speaker 11: use an EV. You cannot plow a field with an
- 18:58Speaker 11: electric vehicle to produce food. You cannot drive from Brisbane
- 19:03Speaker 11: to long Reach in an electric vehicle. You just don't
- 19:07Speaker 11: have the infrastructure and you don't have the range. So
- 19:10Speaker 11: what we are being given in this country is no choice,
- 19:13Speaker 11: a lack of freedom, and we are told go and
- 19:16Speaker 11: support your Chinese mates, help out the Chinese economy, destroy
- 19:21Speaker 11: your own economy, help out the Chinese, and don't drive
- 19:24Speaker 11: a Ford or a GM.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Car or something else.
- 19:27Speaker 11: And I think he's absolutely on the money. And the
- 19:29Speaker 11: Grand Prix was a great place to give us this message.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Yeah. Look, Australia's Bigcause Data center operators have more than
- 19:36Speaker 2: double they reported carbon emissions over the past five years.
- 19:39Speaker 2: As artificial intelligence continues to see more and more investment. Operators, Amazon, Air,
- 19:45Speaker 2: Trunk and CDC all declared annual scope to emissions increases
- 19:49Speaker 2: of more than twenty percent in the year between twenty
- 19:52Speaker 2: twenty four and twenty twenty five a loon Ian No
- 19:55Speaker 2: one tell chrispo in this.
- 19:58Speaker 11: Look, Caroline, if we can concerned about emissions and data centers,
- 20:02Speaker 11: we could put small modular nuclear reactors there.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Now, if we're not concerned.
- 20:07Speaker 11: About emissions of carbon dioxide, which are the gas of life,
- 20:11Speaker 11: which is plant food, then we should cheer that we're
- 20:13Speaker 11: putting more plant food into the atmosphere. The green should
- 20:17Speaker 11: be really pleased that our forests are growing more and
- 20:20Speaker 11: since we've got more food for wildlife. So it's a
- 20:23Speaker 11: case again of get real. If we want data centers,
- 20:26Speaker 11: we need more energy, and we're not going to get
- 20:29Speaker 11: that increased energy from sea breezes and sunbeams.
- 20:33Speaker 1: It just doesn't happen. It doesn't have enough Grunt No.
- 20:37Speaker 2: One Nation. Let's talk about that party because they've announced
- 20:41Speaker 2: their new candidate for pharaoh, and it's an agricultural businessman
- 20:45Speaker 2: called David Farley. He said that water and power will
- 20:50Speaker 2: be key issues on his agenda. We know One Nation
- 20:53Speaker 2: is surging in popularity in the polls, but do you
- 20:57Speaker 2: think this candidate in particular will pose a bill threat
- 21:01Speaker 2: to the coalition in the upcoming by election in Susan
- 21:04Speaker 2: Lee's old seat in Sparah.
- 21:07Speaker 11: We have three big rivers, the Darling, the Murrambidgee and
- 21:10Speaker 11: the Murray, which provide us water to grow food. One
- 21:14Speaker 11: Nation is the only party that has a water policy,
- 21:17Speaker 11: so I think that's going to make them quite popular
- 21:20Speaker 11: in that area. In terms of energy, One Nation have
- 21:23Speaker 11: been consistent for decades that the whole net zero business
- 21:28Speaker 11: is just a load of rubbish. Now last weekend I
- 21:31Speaker 11: spoke to a One Nation group in Rockhampton and what
- 21:34Speaker 11: we read in the press so these are swivel eyed,
- 21:37Speaker 11: gun toating, Nazi saluting Trump lovers, and they're not.
- 21:42Speaker 1: They're just normal people.
- 21:43Speaker 11: And I was really impressed with the questions that I
- 21:46Speaker 11: had from people with my climate talk. These people have
- 21:50Speaker 11: done their reading, they knew this stuff. And I think
- 21:53Speaker 11: the major political parties have got to be worried because
- 21:55Speaker 11: One Nation are actually in the middle ground.
- 21:58Speaker 1: They're not an extremist group.
- 22:00Speaker 11: And in the seat of Farah, water is absolutely fundamental.
- 22:04Speaker 11: In the seat of Farah, like everywhere else in Australia,
- 22:07Speaker 11: the price of energy is fundamental to our costs. So
- 22:12Speaker 11: I think it's probably a good policy to pursue, and
- 22:15Speaker 11: I look at interested with what happens in Farah.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you've hit the nail on the head
- 22:20Speaker 2: that in particular will be really key issues for that seat.
- 22:23Speaker 2: And on top of that, what you say about the
- 22:26Speaker 2: people who vote for one nation. They've been demonized for
- 22:28Speaker 2: such a long time, but our poles are showing more
- 22:31Speaker 2: and more people are supporting them, and they're attracting quality
- 22:35Speaker 2: candidates like this one here in parah Ian Plymouth. Thank
- 22:38Speaker 2: you so much for your time.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Thank you, Caroline.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Still to come. Left is losing it and Whya RAN's
- 22:44Speaker 2: new supreme leader shouldn't get too comfortable. I'll speak to
- 22:47Speaker 2: Josh Hammer next. And now it's time lefties losing it.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Sunday was International Women's Day, so in honor of that,
- 23:04Speaker 2: let's begin with some unhinged lefty ladies single handedly setting
- 23:09Speaker 2: back the case for women's rights. Here's a group of
- 23:12Speaker 2: them gathering in a New York park to collectively screen yep,
- 23:39Speaker 2: really helping to dismantle the patriarchy their ladies. Meanwhile, everyone's
- 23:45Speaker 2: favorite feminist Kamala Harris managed to make American civil rights
- 23:49Speaker 2: activist Jesse Jackson's funeral, Well, all about her. I predicted
- 23:55Speaker 2: a lot about what's happening right now.
- 24:03Speaker 7: I'm not into saying I told you so, but we
- 24:07Speaker 7: did see it coming.
- 24:09Speaker 2: But Kamala wasn't the only Democrat making a fool of
- 24:12Speaker 2: themselves at the reverence farewell. Former US President Joe Biden
- 24:17Speaker 2: seized his moment to tell a mostly black audience, He's
- 24:21Speaker 2: smarter than them.
- 24:22Speaker 12: I told you all earlier when I was a kid,
- 24:25Speaker 12: I had a cleft palate or a club foot, and
- 24:28Speaker 12: none even laughed. But it's okay to laugh at stuttering.
- 24:33Speaker 12: I'm not being critical of you, but think about it.
- 24:35Speaker 12: It's the one place for people think you're stupid. Oh really,
- 24:41Speaker 12: I'm held a lot smarter most of you.
- 24:45Speaker 2: And the crowd just laughed. Yet apparently Trump is the racist.
- 24:49Speaker 2: But the Democrats weren't done yet, another former president using
- 24:52Speaker 2: the funeral to take a cheap shot at MAGA supporters.
- 24:57Speaker 13: Everywhere we see greed and bigotry being celebrated, and bullying.
- 25:04Speaker 11: And mockery masquerading as strength.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Why not just call them a basket of deplorables again.
- 25:10Speaker 2: The reverend's son, Jesse Jackson Jr. Wasn't having a minute
- 25:14Speaker 2: of the politicization of his father's funeral.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I listened.
- 25:22Speaker 11: For several hours of three United States presidents.
- 25:29Speaker 9: Who do not know Jesse Jackson.
- 25:33Speaker 2: But now to another committed anti Trumper, Woillo Pee Goldberg,
- 25:37Speaker 2: who actually claimed on the view Joe Biden could have
- 25:41Speaker 2: fixed a legal immigration if only Donald Trump had let him.
- 25:46Speaker 14: Because you know, Joe Biden, I remember doing the speech
- 25:52Speaker 14: to the nation, said I we have a good border
- 25:57Speaker 14: plan that is bipartisan.
- 26:00Speaker 2: If you let us know. It didn't fail.
- 26:03Speaker 14: The Republicans were told by you know who, don't do.
- 26:08Speaker 6: This to block this.
- 26:10Speaker 1: So that's the person.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Do you love how they can't even bring themselves to
- 26:15Speaker 2: say Trump's name. It says if he's Voldemort, out of
- 26:18Speaker 2: Harry Potter. Meanwhile, Democrats strategist James Cavell is embracing his
- 26:24Speaker 2: Trump derangement syndrome in this truly insane right.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Give fact Trump. If you listen to this, you listen good,
- 26:32Speaker 3: because what I'm getting ready to say is what a
- 26:35Speaker 3: lot of people in this country speak for. Who I
- 26:37Speaker 3: speak for, and I speak for a lot of people.
- 26:40Speaker 3: You hear me, You fat I got.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Trump derangement syndrome.
- 26:45Speaker 15: I hate, And you know what I don't want to
- 26:48Speaker 15: get rid of it. I don't want to get better.
- 26:51Speaker 15: I want to get worse. I want to hate him more.
- 26:55Speaker 15: We want more.
- 26:56Speaker 3: We want to hate the son of so much that
- 26:58Speaker 3: we can't see straight.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Someone please fetch that man's mouth some soap. But back
- 27:05Speaker 2: to International Women's Day, and I want to leave you
- 27:07Speaker 2: with these scenes from Sydney where Iranian Australian protesters standing
- 27:12Speaker 2: up for the human rights of Iranian women told a
- 27:15Speaker 2: group of pro Palestinian gate crashes in Persian where they
- 27:19Speaker 2: could put their flags. Now that's some screaming I can
- 27:41Speaker 2: get behind.
- 27:43Speaker 12: Well.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Iran has ended the speculation surrounding its next leader, naming
- 27:48Speaker 2: Mataba Hamone as its new Islamist dictator after his father,
- 27:53Speaker 2: Ayotola Ali Hamone, was killed in joint US Israel strikes.
- 27:58Speaker 2: But Donald Trump has warned a RAN's new Ayotola, shouldn't
- 28:02Speaker 2: make himself too comfortable in his new office, telling ABC America,
- 28:07Speaker 2: if he doesn't get approval from US, he's not going
- 28:10Speaker 2: to last long. I don't want people to have to
- 28:13Speaker 2: go back in five years and have to do the
- 28:15Speaker 2: same thing again, or worse, let them have a nuclear weapon.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Israel has also vowed to go after the new Supreme
- 28:23Speaker 2: leader and those who appointed him. For more on this,
- 28:27Speaker 2: let's now bring in Newsweek's senior editor at large, Josh Hammer. Josh,
- 28:31Speaker 2: great to see you. You'd have to imagine the new
- 28:34Speaker 2: Ayotola would be feeling slightly nervous at this point. How
- 28:38Speaker 2: long do you give his leadership?
- 28:41Speaker 16: Yeah, I don't think there's much in the way of
- 28:44Speaker 16: job security or job tenure when it comes to Ayotola
- 28:48Speaker 16: these days in the long Republic of Roan. Frankly, I
- 28:51Speaker 16: think back to the post October seventh Hamas leadership or frankly,
- 28:54Speaker 16: that has bowl leadership of the matter. Look, when the
- 28:57Speaker 16: United States and are allie Israel, when these two countries
- 28:59Speaker 16: go to war, or they mean what they say and
- 29:02Speaker 16: they act upon what they say. Already you've actually seen
- 29:06Speaker 16: some interim iatolas after the Commedy Association a little over week.
- 29:09Speaker 16: You've already seen some interim iotols who have already been
- 29:12Speaker 16: taken out of course, earlier this past week and in
- 29:15Speaker 16: the Iranian city of Calm, where you had the assembly
- 29:17Speaker 16: of experts they call that that were that were meeting
- 29:20Speaker 16: to elect a new iatola. Israel Es sense you blew
- 29:23Speaker 16: up the entire meeting. You had dozens of dead experts.
- 29:25Speaker 16: Of these experts, so I would not place a particularly
- 29:29Speaker 16: large wager that that that the son of comedy is
- 29:32Speaker 16: going to last on the job for a very long time.
- 29:34Speaker 16: As far as who he is himself, he frankly has
- 29:37Speaker 16: actually not been particularly outspoken. He's been someone behind the scenes,
- 29:41Speaker 16: someone more of a shadow figure. Certainly, we can surmise
- 29:44Speaker 16: a lot based on his last name Kameni, and we
- 29:46Speaker 16: believe based one we can tell that he is just
- 29:49Speaker 16: as some people are speculating action potentially even more hard
- 29:51Speaker 16: line than his father, who of course is one of
- 29:53Speaker 16: the most brutal, despotic Islamis thugs ever, I mean literally
- 29:57Speaker 16: in the entire history of mankind. So this doesn't bode
- 30:00Speaker 16: particularly well for the future of Iran. But as I said,
- 30:04Speaker 16: if I were a Betty Man, which I'm not, but
- 30:05Speaker 16: if I hadn't thought he were a Betty man'd be
- 30:07Speaker 16: very keen with you. I probably would bet ah, I
- 30:10Speaker 16: would say he's probably gonna last but a week or
- 30:12Speaker 16: two tops on the job. I had to place wager.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Honestly, yeah, I wouldn't be buying too much new funiture
- 30:17Speaker 2: if I was him, it might all need to be
- 30:19Speaker 2: redecorated soon. But President Trump has also responded to accusations
- 30:23Speaker 2: the US was responsible for an apparent strike on an
- 30:27Speaker 2: Iranian girls school which just destroyed the school and it
- 30:31Speaker 2: killed scores of children. Trump told reporters aboard Air Force
- 30:35Speaker 2: One that the Iranian regime were the ones responsible.
- 30:39Speaker 10: Here, he is, did the United States bomb a girls
- 30:43Speaker 10: elementary school in southern Iran on the first day of
- 30:45Speaker 10: the war and kill one hundred and seventy five people?
- 30:48Speaker 13: Based on what I've seen, that was done by Iran?
- 30:52Speaker 1: What's that true, mister? Except who was Iran? Who did that?
- 30:55Speaker 13: Was safely investiget It was still funny.
- 30:58Speaker 6: The only side the targets Sibilillians is Iran.
- 31:02Speaker 2: But Iran's foreign minister Abbas Aarachi told NBC News that
- 31:07Speaker 2: it couldn't have been then because get this, Josh, they
- 31:11Speaker 2: don't kill their own people.
- 31:13Speaker 6: President Trump said Iran is responsible for that strike. What
- 31:18Speaker 6: is your response to what the President said.
- 31:24Speaker 17: Well, it is you know funny. It is our school.
- 31:28Speaker 17: These are our students, our girls, and they are attacked
- 31:33Speaker 17: by an American fighter, a judge fighter, and they have
- 31:37Speaker 17: been killed why it is responsibility. Have we started this war?
- 31:42Speaker 17: Have we attacked our own people?
- 31:45Speaker 2: Oh well, josh heah, I think we can say they
- 31:47Speaker 2: have attacked their own people. Some estimate the regime have
- 31:50Speaker 2: killed now more than thirty six thousand of its own
- 31:53Speaker 2: people in recent months alone. So no one's possibly buying this,
- 31:58Speaker 2: are they?
- 32:00Speaker 13: So?
- 32:00Speaker 16: First of all, I might be in the minority in this,
- 32:03Speaker 16: but I am of the opinion that when your country
- 32:05Speaker 16: is at war, like literally actively at war, you probably
- 32:08Speaker 16: should not be giving interviews to high ranking members of
- 32:12Speaker 16: the country that you were at war with. So I
- 32:13Speaker 16: don't I don't really know why Kristen Weilcore and MBC
- 32:16Speaker 16: News are dating to get this interview in the first place. There,
- 32:18Speaker 16: But to your point, yeah, actually, the fact that Aron
- 32:21Speaker 16: slaughtered tens and tens of thousands. We don't even know
- 32:24Speaker 16: the exact number there, I mean, esmens vary from as
- 32:26Speaker 16: quote unquote low as twenty five to thirty five thousand,
- 32:28Speaker 16: potentially as high as God forbid eighty to one hundred thousand.
- 32:31Speaker 1: We have no idea.
- 32:32Speaker 16: But the fact that they slaughtered so many and literally
- 32:34Speaker 16: probably the single worst instance of a government turning its
- 32:38Speaker 16: weapons on its own people in the entire twenty first century.
- 32:41Speaker 16: I mean this, this hearkens back frankly to the killing
- 32:43Speaker 16: field of Cambodia under Poulpot or the Maoist struggle sessions,
- 32:48Speaker 16: and all the nineteen fifty ninety since he's turmoil in
- 32:51Speaker 16: communist China, the Soviet Goulacs there. I mean this is
- 32:54Speaker 16: twentieth century to talentarium, to talentarianism style brutal Islamist thugery.
- 33:01Speaker 16: So no one is buying this precisely, no one is
- 33:04Speaker 16: buying this there. And there's also an additional point to
- 33:06Speaker 16: make here too, which is these radical Islamic factions, whether
- 33:09Speaker 16: they are non state actors like Hamas and Hasbala or
- 33:12Speaker 16: state actors like Iran, do this over and over and
- 33:14Speaker 16: over again. I have a long enough memory where I
- 33:16Speaker 16: remember just in the first week or two of the
- 33:19Speaker 16: post October seventh, twenty three war in Gaza, there was
- 33:22Speaker 16: this whole controversy as to whether Israel actually bombed a hospital.
- 33:26Speaker 16: Joe Bien actually shamefully got in on the blood alible,
- 33:29Speaker 16: and it turns out that it was a Palestinian rocket
- 33:32Speaker 16: that didn't make it to Israel and it landed, and
- 33:33Speaker 16: it landed actually not even on the hospital and actually
- 33:35Speaker 16: landed a parking lot next to the hospital. So this
- 33:38Speaker 16: has happened before where you have a lot of Western
- 33:40Speaker 16: media that immediately gobble up and say, oh, the United
- 33:42Speaker 16: States is default or Israel or some other ally is
- 33:45Speaker 16: default there. But no more often than non situation like this,
- 33:48Speaker 16: it is it is the Islamist state or non state
- 33:51Speaker 16: actor that's responsible for the very simple reason that Pete
- 33:53Speaker 16: Hesset said they're on Air Force One, which is that
- 33:54Speaker 16: the United States is a first World's country bound by
- 33:58Speaker 16: the rule of law, and we do not target civilians.
- 34:00Speaker 16: And moreover, were pretty accurate when it comes to a weapony.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you're right, Aroun and its proxies definitely
- 34:07Speaker 2: have form on this matter. So I know who I
- 34:11Speaker 2: trust in this situation. But we'll see what comes out
- 34:14Speaker 2: of the investigation. Now. In that same exchange aboard Air
- 34:18Speaker 2: Force One, the President was also asked to justify a
- 34:21Speaker 2: US strike on an Iranian desalination plant, and boy did
- 34:26Speaker 2: he unleash.
- 34:27Speaker 13: They are among the most evil people ever order. They
- 34:31Speaker 13: cut babies heads off, they chop women that have what
- 34:35Speaker 13: they did. Take a look at October seventh, Take a
- 34:37Speaker 13: look at what they've done over the last forty seven years.
- 34:40Speaker 13: So I know nothing about a desalinization plant, other than
- 34:44Speaker 13: to say, if they're complaining about a desalinization plant, we
- 34:49Speaker 13: complained about the fact that they should be chopping baby's
- 34:51Speaker 13: heads off.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Okay, Josh, what is with the left media and they're
- 34:56Speaker 2: fixation with defending or finding ways to minimize what this
- 35:00Speaker 2: brutal authoritarian regime is doing here.
- 35:05Speaker 16: The brutal truth, and I genuinely do not think that
- 35:06Speaker 16: this is overstaying. The matter is that there are a
- 35:09Speaker 16: lot of folks on the left who actively root for
- 35:11Speaker 16: actors like the islam Republic of Iran. Frankly, some of
- 35:14Speaker 16: this actually is explicit out in the open. For instance,
- 35:16Speaker 16: there are there are various left wing student groups like
- 35:19Speaker 16: this group, this horrific group at Columbia University of New
- 35:21Speaker 16: York City called CUAD Columbia University Apartheid divest or something
- 35:26Speaker 16: like that. There they were actively cheering on Iran's missile
- 35:30Speaker 16: and drone response after the initial bombing run between the
- 35:33Speaker 16: United States and Israel last Saturday, you had various other
- 35:36Speaker 16: students for justin palestein chapters that were that were showing
- 35:39Speaker 16: video clips of the italiatory Iran missiles and drones that
- 35:43Speaker 16: are fired at Israel, the UAE who waits lots of
- 35:46Speaker 16: other agricundries there and celebrating it. So there is a
- 35:49Speaker 16: subversive fifth column. There's a fifth column here in the
- 35:51Speaker 16: United States. And this is not just an American fill unfortunately,
- 35:55Speaker 16: because the organized political left for really as far back
- 35:58Speaker 16: as we have had this right left political devid because
- 36:00Speaker 16: our contemporary right political divid goes back roughly to the
- 36:03Speaker 16: French Revolution, That's where this nomenclature actually comes from. And
- 36:06Speaker 16: going back to the French Revolution, to the Jacobins, to Robespier,
- 36:10Speaker 16: the reign of terror there, the left has had a
- 36:12Speaker 16: fetish for political violence, for not just settling scores through
- 36:16Speaker 16: through the ballot box or or through legislation or bills there,
- 36:19Speaker 16: but they actually have a love of violence. That is
- 36:21Speaker 16: why some of the of the great tyrants in the
- 36:23Speaker 16: twentieth century, like Stalin infamously Mauzidong and China, these are
- 36:27Speaker 16: ardent at their core, Marxist Leninists, left wingers there, you know,
- 36:32Speaker 16: as the late grade David Horowitz said, inside every progressive
- 36:35Speaker 16: is a totalitarian waiting to get out. So I think
- 36:38Speaker 16: a lot of these folks look at these totalitarian regimes
- 36:41Speaker 16: like Iran, and it's not only that they're that they're
- 36:44Speaker 16: trying to downpload their atrocities. I think a lot of
- 36:46Speaker 16: them are genuinely rooting them on. That's that sounds pretty harsh,
- 36:49Speaker 16: and that's that sounds pretty callous there, but it's my
- 36:51Speaker 16: genuine read the situation there. It's very difficult, frankly, for
- 36:54Speaker 16: me to look at things other than to look at
- 36:56Speaker 16: things like the Barack Obama Nuclear Deal, for instance, and
- 36:59Speaker 16: conclude that they are trans do anything other than to
- 37:01Speaker 16: arm the world's number one state sponsor of terror.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Look, I have to agree with you. We've seen very
- 37:05Speaker 2: similar scenes on our campuses here in Australia, as I'm
- 37:08Speaker 2: sure you'd be aware, and on our streets openly people
- 37:11Speaker 2: holding flags of these terrorist leaders, including the IATOLA. So
- 37:17Speaker 2: it's hard to disagree with your assessment. I think. Unfortunately,
- 37:20Speaker 2: one consequence of what's happening in the Middle East is
- 37:23Speaker 2: obviously the volatility of the oil market now, and to
- 37:26Speaker 2: offset that, the Trump administration has turned Venezuela into a
- 37:31Speaker 2: significant oil supply. Global oil prices have soared past one
- 37:36Speaker 2: hundred US dollars a barrel amid Israeli strikes on Iranian
- 37:40Speaker 2: oil infrastructure and disruptions in the hallmus Strait. Now Josh
- 37:45Speaker 2: Venezuela has gone from being an adversary to the United
- 37:49Speaker 2: States to an ally under Trump.
- 37:52Speaker 16: Yeah, it's quite remarkable. Actually, just as past week, I
- 37:54Speaker 16: believe it's on Thursday Friday, the United State has actually
- 37:56Speaker 16: opened its diplomatic facility in Caracas, Venezuela, the first time
- 38:00Speaker 16: since twenty nineteen. So this pretty remarkable stuff. Look, the
- 38:03Speaker 16: current women leave Venezuela. Delsa Rodriguez is definitely a socialist
- 38:07Speaker 16: in the Ugo shaves Nicholas Manduro mode, but she's apparently
- 38:10Speaker 16: willing to play ball with the US when it comes
- 38:11Speaker 16: to our petroleum at oil natural gas companies going in
- 38:15Speaker 16: there to try to take advantage of the of those
- 38:17Speaker 16: resources there. It's true that oil prices are rising on
- 38:21Speaker 16: the global crew market. There's been a rise of roughly
- 38:24Speaker 16: fifty percent since the war started, and that's politically that's
- 38:28Speaker 16: not good for Republicans here in the United States when
- 38:30Speaker 16: it comes to a mid term election year. I could
- 38:32Speaker 16: be wrong with this. I have a sning suspicion that
- 38:34Speaker 16: Donald Trump has a card here up his sleeve. That
- 38:37Speaker 16: card could potentially be as simple as just tapping into
- 38:39Speaker 16: what we in the States refer to as the sec
- 38:41Speaker 16: Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which is something that we basically store
- 38:45Speaker 16: a lot of oil and natural gas essentially for situations
- 38:47Speaker 16: exactly like this, to try to contain price fluctuations there.
- 38:51Speaker 16: I am hearing rumors, and it's just rumors, and I
- 38:54Speaker 16: don't typally like to deal in rumors. I am hearing
- 38:56Speaker 16: rumors that the United States might make some sort of
- 38:58Speaker 16: strong plates potentially, and Iranian Island near the Strait of
- 39:02Speaker 16: Horne moves trying to essentially open those lines of shipping there.
- 39:05Speaker 16: I think that think, frankly that the United States Navy
- 39:09Speaker 16: is not done when it comes to letting the price
- 39:11Speaker 16: of oil get too far out of hand there, because
- 39:13Speaker 16: energy is ultimately the mother's milk of really all goods.
- 39:17Speaker 9: There.
- 39:17Speaker 16: When energy prices sore, the prices of a virtually every
- 39:20Speaker 16: really good stores soars as well. Because you rely on
- 39:23Speaker 16: shipping and planes and trucks and everything to get all
- 39:26Speaker 16: the groceries in your store and your goods and your services.
- 39:28Speaker 16: It all comes down to energy there. So I suspect
- 39:31Speaker 16: that Donald Trump is going to have a trick up
- 39:33Speaker 16: his sleeve here. It's worth knowing as well, by the way,
- 39:35Speaker 16: that even though what I said is true that oil
- 39:37Speaker 16: has spikes since the war started, it would have spiked
- 39:39Speaker 16: a lot more had Donald Trump and his administration not
- 39:43Speaker 16: engage in prolific offshore and onshore or oil and natural
- 39:47Speaker 16: gas drilling just over the course of the past year
- 39:49Speaker 16: after the buying Harris regime shut down a lat of
- 39:51Speaker 16: those wells there. So it's not ideal right now. Again,
- 39:54Speaker 16: I think it's going to get better, but it would
- 39:55Speaker 16: have been a lot worse. We're not for much more
- 39:57Speaker 16: of this drilling that they've done already.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Yeah, before I have to let you go, let's turn
- 40:01Speaker 2: our attention quickly to New York because a pair of
- 40:04Speaker 2: ISIS trained extremists have been charged with allegedly hurling an
- 40:09Speaker 2: improvised explosive device and the mayor's official residence during a protest,
- 40:13Speaker 2: which police say would have caused serious death, thought or
- 40:17Speaker 2: injury had detonated. Law enforcement sources close to the case
- 40:22Speaker 2: have told The New York Post the two suspects had
- 40:25Speaker 2: allegedly self radicalized in recent years, having traveled to Turkey
- 40:29Speaker 2: and other terror training hotspots, but his reaction to the incident,
- 40:34Speaker 2: Mayor Zorah and mum Dani decided not to mention them
- 40:37Speaker 2: at all, instead releasing a statement blaming Josh white supremacy.
- 40:42Speaker 2: He wrote, white supremacist Jake Lang organized a protest outside
- 40:47Speaker 2: Gracie Mansion rooted in bigotry and racism. Such hate has
- 40:52Speaker 2: no place in New York City. It is an affront
- 40:55Speaker 2: to our city's values and the unity that defines who
- 40:58Speaker 2: we are. Josh, how the heck did he manage to
- 41:02Speaker 2: turn the threat of radical Islam into an attack on
- 41:06Speaker 2: white supremacy.
- 41:09Speaker 16: Uh, there's a very simple answer to that question, which
- 41:11Speaker 16: is or Mamdani is sympathetic to radical Islam. That that
- 41:15Speaker 16: is the That is the unequivocal answer to your to
- 41:18Speaker 16: your very astute question. Sir Ramdani is a man who
- 41:20Speaker 16: founded his Students Were justin Palestine chapter back when he
- 41:24Speaker 16: was in voting college in Maine years ago. S jp
- 41:27Speaker 16: AS is frequently known as essentially a Muslim Brotherhood of
- 41:29Speaker 16: Hamas front group openly orchestrating openly in citing for for
- 41:33Speaker 16: murderous jihad and anti Western civilization. Subjugation on America's university campuses.
- 41:40Speaker 16: This is a man who on the first day of Ramadan,
- 41:43Speaker 16: just over the past couple of weeks and the very
- 41:44Speaker 16: first day, spoke at a an infamous mosque in New
- 41:48Speaker 16: York City that that that has long been on the
- 41:50Speaker 16: FBI's RDAR for having close ties to you guessed, the
- 41:53Speaker 16: Iranian regime itself. In fact, the e Mom of that
- 41:56Speaker 16: very mosque. After Memdannie said his remarks and exited stage
- 41:59Speaker 16: will Aft, the e Mom then came to the lectern
- 42:01Speaker 16: and said into the microphone that he that he hopes
- 42:04Speaker 16: that the sword will ultimately be the final fate of
- 42:07Speaker 16: all infidels, essentially wishing death for infidels. Man Donnie spoke
- 42:10Speaker 16: of that monster's man's prior to the EMM, saying that
- 42:12Speaker 16: they're so this is the guy who who not only
- 42:14Speaker 16: does not have a problem with radical Islamic jihad, he
- 42:18Speaker 16: has I'm not saying he's personally been involved. He's not
- 42:20Speaker 16: strapping on suicide vest or anything there. But this is
- 42:22Speaker 16: a man who has been a cheerleader. Most recently, it
- 42:25Speaker 16: just came out this past week that his wife was
- 42:28Speaker 16: very active, shall we say, on Instagram and social media
- 42:30Speaker 16: and liking a lot of posts, not just downplaying October seven,
- 42:34Speaker 16: twenty twenty three, celebrating you, saying that the wanton murder
- 42:38Speaker 16: of twelve hundred people, the two hundred and fifty folks
- 42:40Speaker 16: that were three injured, whatever was that they were absolutely
- 42:43Speaker 16: tragically murdered of the Nova Music Festival. All the mass rapes,
- 42:45Speaker 16: the pillages, the kidnappings there, the execution of Holocaust virus
- 42:48Speaker 16: and butchering and babies there she was celebrating. And this
- 42:51Speaker 16: is six six sick, demented stuff there. Frankly, I look
- 42:54Speaker 16: at this, and as someone who was from the New
- 42:56Speaker 16: York area originally myself, I sometimes just throw my hands
- 43:00Speaker 16: and I say, how did New York get here?
- 43:02Speaker 1: Really? How did it actually get here?
- 43:03Speaker 16: It wasn't that long ago that New Yorkers were debating
- 43:06Speaker 16: the infamous ground zero mask and they defeated the ground
- 43:09Speaker 16: Zero mask. This is an attempt to build a mosque
- 43:11Speaker 16: near ground zero at the sight of the Alkaita had
- 43:14Speaker 16: that brought down twin towers there. We've gone from this
- 43:16Speaker 16: to that there, and it's ultimately just truly, truly, truly
- 43:18Speaker 16: tragic stuff for the city of New York.
- 43:20Speaker 2: It is look, I'm concerned for people there, but they
- 43:23Speaker 2: have voted him in, so we'll see what happens. Josh Hammer,
- 43:26Speaker 2: appreciate your time as always, thanks for joining us.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Still to come. Harry and Meghan are officially heading back
- 43:33Speaker 2: to Australia next month. What sort of reception can they
- 43:37Speaker 2: expect here? Kinsey scofields on that next welcome back joining
- 43:50Speaker 2: me now is celebrity and royal commentator Kinsey schofields Kinsey,
- 43:55Speaker 2: great to see you. Netflix has officially cut ties with
- 43:59Speaker 2: Meghan Markles polarizing lifestyle brand as ever, in a fresh
- 44:04Speaker 2: blow to the Duchess's ambitions for the company, Kinsey, the
- 44:08Speaker 2: streaming service has issued a statement as artificially soothing as
- 44:12Speaker 2: Michael's voice on her two season show With Love Megan.
- 44:16Speaker 2: But there's no other way to spin it, is there.
- 44:18Speaker 2: She and Harry have been a massive disappointment for Netflix.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:22Speaker 18: I feel like we had this on our twenty twenty
- 44:24Speaker 18: six bingo card, didn't we? Sources told Page six The
- 44:28Speaker 18: return on investment simply wasn't there. The show was a
- 44:30Speaker 18: significant disappointment to the streamer, and with the product line
- 44:34Speaker 18: being an extension of With Love Megan. It makes absolutely
- 44:38Speaker 18: no sense to maintain this working relationship. I also reported
- 44:42Speaker 18: on my podcast weeks ago that Netflix was eager to
- 44:45Speaker 18: get rid of excess as ever inventory that was sitting
- 44:48Speaker 18: around their offices. This was one of many omens that
- 44:52Speaker 18: the relationship was wrapping up.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Yeah, not great for Megan, but it seems like one
- 44:58Speaker 2: failure after another for the former royal couple Kinsey. It's
- 45:03Speaker 2: also been revealed that Harry and Meghan planned to rebound
- 45:07Speaker 2: from this latest flop with another tour of Australia. A
- 45:11Speaker 2: spokesperson for the couple telling news dot com Dot a
- 45:14Speaker 2: U the couple will be visiting in mid April. Kinsey.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Their last tour here was back in twenty eighteen, eighteen
- 45:21Speaker 2: months before they quit their royal duties and relocated to
- 45:25Speaker 2: the US. What sort of reception would you expect them
- 45:29Speaker 2: to get this time?
- 45:31Speaker 18: Hasn't Australia suffered enough? What have you done to deserve this?
- 45:34Speaker 18: I mean the couple's I think, thoughts and prayers. Gobble's
- 45:38Speaker 18: popularity in Australia in twenty eighteen was the catalyst for
- 45:41Speaker 18: Harry and Meghan making demands as working members of the
- 45:44Speaker 18: royal family.
- 45:45Speaker 6: I don't know if you know that.
- 45:46Speaker 18: In trying to step out of William and Catherine's shadow,
- 45:49Speaker 18: Meghan started comparing herself to Princess Diana and tried to
- 45:52Speaker 18: use this trip as leverage with the late Queen. As
- 45:55Speaker 18: of late twenty twenty five, Harry and Meghan's popularity in
- 45:58Speaker 18: Australia is at an all time low, following a consistent
- 46:02Speaker 18: downward trend over the years. Pulling indicates they're among the
- 46:05Speaker 18: least popular members of the royal family. I would say
- 46:09Speaker 18: reception will be a combination of morbid curiosity with the
- 46:13Speaker 18: side of why are they here?
- 46:15Speaker 2: Yeah, well, technically speaking, it's still our royal family here,
- 46:20Speaker 2: but you're right, the mood has changed. I covered that
- 46:22Speaker 2: royal visit back in twenty eighteen. I believe she was pregnant,
- 46:25Speaker 2: but it wasn't widely and publicly known at the time,
- 46:28Speaker 2: and of course that prompted, as you say, all the
- 46:32Speaker 2: rumors later, well, the stuff that she was pushing about
- 46:35Speaker 2: someone in the royal family speculating about the skin color
- 46:39Speaker 2: of her baby. I expect there'll be a very different
- 46:42Speaker 2: level of public access to them this time. Would they
- 46:46Speaker 2: be likely to be doing public events with meats and
- 46:51Speaker 2: greets of members of the public. Do you think or
- 46:54Speaker 2: willis will be very tightly controlled?
- 46:57Speaker 18: It will be totally controlled.
- 46:59Speaker 6: I've seen.
- 46:59Speaker 18: What I thought was interesting was the announcement included private events.
- 47:03Speaker 18: Private events. Wouldn't we just assume that they would want
- 47:06Speaker 18: privacy throughout the excursion. But don't forget or don't think
- 47:11Speaker 18: for one second they won't try to make it look
- 47:14Speaker 18: like an official royal engagement. They will want certain photo
- 47:19Speaker 18: opportunities where there's an audience clamoring for them, so that
- 47:22Speaker 18: they can send those pictures to People magazine. But for
- 47:25Speaker 18: the most part, I do think that it will be
- 47:26Speaker 18: mostly private events and commercial ventures that they're pursuing more
- 47:31Speaker 18: so than charity opportunities.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Well, keep those thoughts in praise coming. I think we're
- 47:36Speaker 2: going to need it to be here. No doubt we'll
- 47:39Speaker 2: be speaking a bit more about this soon. But let's
- 47:41Speaker 2: talk about another royal Princess Eugenie. Now, she's the daughter
- 47:44Speaker 2: of course of disgrace former Prince Andrew. She stepped down
- 47:48Speaker 2: as patron of an anti slavery charity, I mean the
- 47:52Speaker 2: continuing fallout from her father's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Kinzie,
- 47:57Speaker 2: She's served in that role for seven years now, so
- 48:00Speaker 2: it has to be tied to this scandal, doesn't.
- 48:03Speaker 18: It Absolutely, Because one of the causes this charity champion
- 48:07Speaker 18: against was sex trafficking. And it is clear that not
- 48:11Speaker 18: just Andrew Mountbatten Windsor engaged with Jeffrey Epstein post incarceration
- 48:16Speaker 18: for being a sexual predator, but Beatrice and Eugenie voluntarily
- 48:20Speaker 18: did as well. According to that DOJ dump in the
- 48:24Speaker 18: Epstein files, the alleged sex trafficker paid for the York
- 48:28Speaker 18: daughters and their mother to visit him after he was
- 48:31Speaker 18: released from jail. That's not a great look for any
- 48:34Speaker 18: charity or royal for that matter.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and as you say, one of the its focuses
- 48:41Speaker 2: on this issue in particular, you know, sex trafficking as
- 48:45Speaker 2: a part of its remit. Let's quickly talk about actor
- 48:48Speaker 2: Timothy Chalomay. He's been lambasted online after claiming during an
- 48:53Speaker 2: interview that no one cares about ballet or opera. Here
- 48:57Speaker 2: was that exchange, and I don't want to be working
- 49:00Speaker 2: in ballet or opera or you know things where it's like, hey,
- 49:03Speaker 2: keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this.
- 49:07Speaker 6: All respect to the ballet and opera people out there.
- 49:10Speaker 6: I just lost fourteen cents in viewership.
- 49:12Speaker 2: But I just took shots for no reason.
- 49:17Speaker 1: That's no shot to hear what you say?
- 49:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so, Kinsey, he has been absolutely dragged by the
- 49:26Speaker 2: opera and ballet woods. There's plenty of gold memes out there,
- 49:30Speaker 2: and also some canny groups offering special discounts of people
- 49:33Speaker 2: use the code Chela may.
- 49:36Speaker 6: Is this the Kardashian curse?
- 49:38Speaker 1: You know?
- 49:39Speaker 18: Like I want to love him despite his very bizarre
- 49:41Speaker 18: relationship with Kylie Jenner. I want to give him the
- 49:43Speaker 18: benefit of the doubt. But he went to art school,
- 49:46Speaker 18: you know, I think he knows better. He continues to
- 49:49Speaker 18: put his foot in his mouth when he does any
- 49:51Speaker 18: interview whatsoever. I saw someone joke that, you know, he's
- 49:54Speaker 18: making this statement while promoting a movie about ping pong,
- 49:57Speaker 18: talk about a topic no one cares about me. Hire
- 50:00Speaker 18: a media trainer or do less talking. The more I
- 50:03Speaker 18: know about him, the less I love him. And he
- 50:06Speaker 18: was so cute and little women don't ruin this for me, Timmy.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Yeah, just keep your mouth closed. I think that'd be
- 50:11Speaker 2: safest for everyone. Tathy Kinsey Schofield, thank you so much
- 50:15Speaker 2: for your time as always, that's it for me. OP.
