- 1:36[SPEAKER_05]: Hopefully I didn't forget anything.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_05]: It was better than your last one.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, this is true.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_05]: That was also, I've been doing episodes sparingly like the last three to four weeks, so I'm out of practice.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_05]: It's ill-beck riding a bike that I'll get back into it.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_05]: So I guess this just go ahead and get right into it.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_05]: I guess we have a comment here right at first.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_05]: And I do, I can speak on this.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_05]: It says, love it six and wide receiver at 24.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm already throwing an audible here because we're gonna talk about the mocks that dropped after yesterday.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_05]: Here's my only thought on the love it six thing.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_05]: First of all, I see no world in which the Browns draft a running back in the top 10 a year after they drafted two running backs.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_05]: I would say there's almost a 0% change that happens.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_05]: Second of all, I just don't think you spend a top 10 pick on a running back when you just use two draft picks last year to pick a running back.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_05]: Like you're going to spend a top 10 pick on a guy who's going to split touches, because you're not going to completely phase out quench on juggins.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_05]: And if you bring in love, and then he's going to split carries with juggins, you're basically throwing away the same specific.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_05]: There's only so many carries to go around the game.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_05]: I just don't think you're going to spend a top 10 pick on a guy who's only going to get after the touches of the backfield.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_05]: To me, that just running back is just the furthest thing from need.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_05]: I understand he's like a great player, maybe the best offensive player in the draft.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_05]: Just to me, it doesn't make sense for the Browns.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_05]: It's just, it doesn't help the offense in the way that it needs help.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_05]: We need receivers.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to run in back who can play receiver.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_05]: Who's a good pass catching running back.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_05]: I want a wide receiver.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_05]: Place the position and can take the top off the defense and is a game changer at the wide receiver position.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_05]: So that's kind of where I stand on that.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_05]: And then my only fear, if you wait to pick a receiver at 24,
- 3:20[SPEAKER_05]: some of the stuff I am hearing you know between being like sleep deprived and being in a hospital for three days and stuff.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_05]: There's going to be a runaway receivers who knows if any of these top four five guys are going to be there at 24.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_05]: I'm hearing things from people like they think there's going to be six receivers taken in the first round.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_05]: They might all be gone before we pick at 24.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_05]: So I just I just don't know if you can risk that to me.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_05]: It's like a
- 3:43[SPEAKER_05]: It's a car now taking a matter of what at this point.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_05]: I'm like Sunnyweaver Jr. with Vontay Mack.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_05]: Just turn it in.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_05]: It doesn't matter, turn it in.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: No, but I agree with you there because it was Peter Schreger.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: And Peter Schreger, I don't know.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, people with some people like him, some people don't want to ever, but he's very plugged in.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: to the teams, the the sources around the league, and he only puts out two mocks every season.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: And the first one was this week, and then the last one will be next week.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: And he puts that together based on everything that he has gathered, information what he's been hearing.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: And he came out after that first mock and said, I got a lot of feedback from team sources and league sources throw it out the window.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: He said, I think now I think there's going to be six receivers like you said.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: gone before the Browns pick at 24.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: So that would be all of them.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: All the top guys that everybody's looking at, you've got Tate obviously, Lemon Tyson gone, Omar Cooper, Junior, Conceptsione, and Boston.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: And his mind would all be gone before you get to 24.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: So what does that leave you with?
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: Now you're just out of the wide receiver, potential wide receiver one market all together, in my opinion.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_05]: like if Cardinal takes their six is so it's one of those things some I heard some people is that they don't like his athletic testing.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_05]: It wasn't personally just watching play football.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_05]: You know me and like how many times do the athletic freak guys the t-shirt and shorts warriors they bust because you don't know how to play the position they're just the track guys playing wide receiver and in college you could get away with that and the NFL you can't.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_05]: I think if you have a guy like Cardinal Tate who's been a consensus top 10 pick, since the beginning of college football season last year, basically he's never fallen out of there.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_05]: You take him any bus, that's how much easier pill to swallow and if you don't take him and he goes off for another team and then the guy you took did nothing.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's correct.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if any of you new brown sphines out there is basically history of our team.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_05]: You know like Julio Jones for example we get this great haul for him He goes on to be a first battle at Hall of Famer Browns picked all these players with those picks that got for him.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_05]: I don't even have them to make taint the team
- 6:08[SPEAKER_05]: We just gave them away for free, essentially.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_05]: So, I'm just tired of watching the Browns pass on guys who are considered as sure fires it gets.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_05]: Obviously nothing is perfect in the NFL draft, but we just pass on them.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_05]: We outsmart ourselves, I'll think it, we over-analyze it, and then they go on to have Hall of Fame careers on other teams, and then the guys we picked instead with our great hall, if we say we draft down, they do nothing.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_05]: It's just like, just start picking the best guys.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_05]: And if you pick Cardinal Tate at six and he ends up not being good, I can almost guarantee you all of Brown's fandom is going to be, you'll be forgiven for that draft pick.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_05]: It's a lot easier to forgive getting the consensus top 10 pick and then he just doesn't work out and then trying to outsmart yourself and then he's playing well on another team and you're sitting there going, why don't we take that guy?
- 7:05[SPEAKER_05]: We've done it with quarterback in basically my entire life.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_05]: I'm tired of taking project receivers in project quarterbacks.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_05]: Brown screens have this, you're like, they're so afraid to take quarterbacks in the first round because we always, we hard to ever take quarterbacks in the first round.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_05]: We're constantly trying to turn third and fourth round quarterbacks into franchise quarterbacks.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_05]: That's the problem.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_05]: We're doing the same thing with wide receivers.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_05]: We haven't picked one in the first round since Cory Coleman.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_05]: You know, like we're constantly trying to turn third and fourth round wide receivers into franchise guys.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_05]: They're picking these positions at the top of the draft while the best players are.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, and the arguments against taking Carnell Tate that I see from other browns like content creators and people on social media kind of cracked me up because like one thing they'll say, well, the last receiver we took in the first round was Corey Coleman.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: So we should go alignment.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like the last line when we took in the first round was Jed Willes.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: So, like the track record's not great either way, and they're both positions that injury berry struggles with anyhow, and then I think there are definitely some people out there that just don't like Ohio State.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: They hate the school, they hate the team, they hate the fans, they hate Ohio State fans.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: They think we're annoying and all this kind of stuff and we're homers and all that, so they're like, oh, I'll carnelate sucks because I hate Ohio State fans.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: Well,
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: Turns out he is pretty much the consensus number one receiver in this draft among all the analysts.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: There's some people that will say well Jordan Tyson would be the top receiver if it weren't for the injury stuff and if you were a little more this or a little more that
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care about the ifs.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: Those are ifs and nuts like Blake likes to say.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: Give me cardinal tated sex.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: Get a receiver that can win all over the field, but his specialty is what Shidorah Sanders does well.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: When down the field, contested catches, beating guys deep.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to make those plays and he's not going to drop the ball.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: That is the biggest thing for me is he's just, his ceiling to me is high.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know exactly how high I would like projected out to be, but I think that there is a ceiling for him that if he really does hit, could be a very high level wide receiver in this league, not just on whatever team he goes to.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_05]: And the knock I always hear about it, which just drives me nuts is, I know what you can say.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_05]: The number one ride receiver on his team, which is like, so we're going to punish a guy for going to wide receiver you.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_05]: It's his fault that he had the he's playing next to Jeremiah Smith.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_05]: Like, that's just, I mean, come on, Jackson Smith and Jacobo was wide receiver three for the buck guys.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_05]: Mekka Bucca was never wide receiver one for two.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_05]: Two most wide receiver one.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_05]: The buck guys.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_05]: Like, you have to stop with that narrative.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_05]: If that was a case, Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase couldn't have both been top first round draft picks in their draft, because one of them wasn't the number one for LSU.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_05]: He was new in the number one team one is number one receiver on this college team.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_05]: How can you take him in the first round of the NFL draft?
- 10:01[SPEAKER_05]: It's such a stupid argument.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_05]: It's such a stupid argument.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I hate it.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: And so we were talking in the discord the other day, and I know Adam, you get your hand up over and some of you guys up before we dive into these mock drafts from the other day, but we were talking about these smoke screens that have been going out and how it's, there's been smoke about Kate and Proctor at six.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: There has been smoke about Spencer Fiano and some of these other players, and it's been a lot of positive stuff about those tackles.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: And then I said the only negative smoke we've really heard the last couple of weeks is that the Browns aren't in love with Carnell Tates testing.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm thinking are they trying to like make sure that he's there at six or something that that a team doesn't trade up to five with the giants to try to get him like the same to the commander somebody else who wants a receiver and maybe Carnell Tates is actually their guy.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm prepared to be disappointed on Thursday next week.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: but that does give me a little bit of hope that the only thing that's kind of been put out there negative about any prospect has been taken.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they're trying to throw people off the fence.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: I have no idea, but maybe I'm grass.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_05]: If I'm a take, I'll be if Tates out there six, that's where I'm like, because I don't want the Browns to move up to take them.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_05]: No, I feel like that would be that would take two, if you're not gonna move up into the top five, that would take too much.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_05]: And then if he's not there,
- 11:24[SPEAKER_05]: Like, even though I know we need a wider receiver, who I love any of the rest of them enough to take them at six, or then do I start entertaining some of these like dropback trades with like Dallas and can I still get, you know, one of those top guys at 12, it and be able to pick up another pick.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_05]: And I start entertaining that, but if it takes there at six, I'm just picking them.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just turning in the card and picking them.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I'm with you.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I saw this, I forget who said it here in the chat.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: What do you do if Tates not there at six?
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like you said, that's when I'm really entertaining the trade down with Dallas and just gear and up to take one of the tackles.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it would probably be Fano, Freeling.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: I probably, it's not big on Proctor, man.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe low move, like, either way, there will be a tackle available at 12.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I would just be going that route.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: Unless they're really high on, I got like my Kylam and they want to trade back to 12 and take him.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like just get guys for this offense.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: If they walk up there and take a defensive player, I don't know man, he's going to be a crash out on the show.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_05]: But I just don't see any world in which you can pick a defensive player in the said that last year though in the first round.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_05]: I know.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_05]: I guess I didn't we didn't know that there was essentially like a two year rebuild plan.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_05]: I think their flat minimum is clearly to like rebuild up in add defensive pieces and I think overall wasn't considered a great offensive draft last year.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, one of the great offensive players last year is now full-time defense a player.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_05]: So, you know what I mean?
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: True, but there were some tackles we could have taken at five.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: The guy from New Orleans, the Membo, Membo, whatever his name is for the Jets, Technic Millen.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, couple first round picks for those guys, though.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: What's that?
- 13:08[SPEAKER_05]: Do you trade, you know, Mason or Judkins or Carson for one of those guys?
- 13:14[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if I would.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_05]: I think like last year's draft was pretty much a home run.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_05]: So knowing it's a two-year plan, if last year was to get some defensive guys the miss year, it's got to be all offense.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, what would we be doing?
- 13:30[SPEAKER_05]: What's the point?
- 13:31[SPEAKER_05]: So we can keep losing games 17 to 14 or 17 to 10?
- 13:36[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but you want to get to see Adams got his hand up, let's bring him up and then we'll talk to Adam and then we'll kind of go through a couple of these mock drafts that came out the other day.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: Adam, what's going on, man?
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: Boys, going on.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: What's up?
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, Blake, first and foremost, man, congrats, glad to see your face back on the show, bud.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: I can empathize with with the daughter situation.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: I am my youngest is is girl and her name is Stella, but her nickname is Saddam.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: She runs the house, man.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: She runs the house.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_02]: We, yeah, man.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll be honest with you, boys.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: First and foremost, hey, thanks for having the show.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: I had reconstructive shoulder surgery on Monday.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: So I've been sitting on the couch for the next 30 days.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_02]: So this is an awesome situation.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: Waking up in El Paso and seeing a discord live.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_02]: Bye.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: When it comes to the draft and everything, you know, week before the draft anxiety is at an all-time high, because it's, you know, usually I don't pay too much attention to reports or anything's like that, but, you know, the week before the draft, you kind of start tuning in and listening a little bit more especially to those certain people who do mocks and has the inside ear to NFL execs and all that,
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I love Jeremiah love, um, I think that he's an awesome player and he's probably going to be great for somebody, um, but, but I'm with Blake on it, you know,
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of those things where we invested two draft picks in the back field last year and I'm happy with both of them.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'd really like to see Samson actually utilize and what he can actually bring to the table because I don't think we maybe got a glimpse last year but I'd like to see him actually used.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I think the only way that mentally I'm going to this draft is, uh, if Carnal Tade is not there at six, then, you know what, like, we didn't get the opportunity to screw that up.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_02]: And, uh,
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I know everybody, you know, turn in the card, Carnotate at six, and I'm with you like, you know, Cooper's already ready to order the jersey.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm with it, man.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think we need Carnotate.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy to me watching a lot of these mock drafts, because a lot of people mock Cleveland to take, you know, offensive line at six, you know, everyone is usually going
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: I guess the biggest thing that gets my mind on with that is like these people that are doing these mocks that you know have the ears of the NFL execs and all that that you know sometimes say those things.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like the offensive line is something that we have specifically addressed this offseason with free agent signings.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: We have yet to sign anyone into our wide receiver room or address anything about it.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: So to me, it's obvious two plus two is four that we're going to draft a wide receiver first and we're going to address a position group that we haven't even, we know what's the weakest in the NFL and we haven't done anything to make it better.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_01]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: So if you think the public is wrong, like everybody's overreacting to these smoke screens in the draft or sleeping on a prospect, you can literally take the other side of the market.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just sports either, you can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: It works like this, simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: So if you trust your takes and instincts, and I know you guys do, go check out Calshian's see what markets are alive right now.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: So head over to calshie.com slash dogs, k-a-l, s-h-i-i-dot-com slash dogs, d-a-w-g-s, deposit just $20, and Calshian's gonna match you, they're gonna put $20 free into your account.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's a great deal to get started.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: So again, calshie.com slash dogs $20 match when you deposit $20 into your account.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: But then all the speculation, right?
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of like you guys were talking about, it's amazing to me how the value of a player changes through the whole off season.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_02]: We go from college football to the NFL draft and zeroes go to heroes or heroes go to zeroes and no football was played at a amount of time.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: And we have these strong opinions of people when they're lining up on the field every Saturday,
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: and we're watching their whole college career and then the only thing that has occurred is a combine and magically the these different narrative and we saw last year we saw last year was should or you know and so maybe that could be to our benefit but I just hope that Tate is there because I'll be honest with you man like
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think Tyson is an amazing wide receiver to look at and he's he's got these attributes that I just to their eight.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: He kind of he does those athletic things that like you saw like Odo Beckham Jr. have like in his profile when he was coming out and stuff like that, but
- 19:23[SPEAKER_02]: Um, you know, the thing about those, those real athletic guys, they get themselves in certain positions, especially when you're lining up on an NFL field where, you know, everybody in the defensive backfield's running four, four, four, three's and weighing, you know, around 200 pounds.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I just, I don't see that.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: I feel the same way about him as I felt about Travis Hunter last year.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: T. I know that you know the injury thing is something that everybody's knocking on him, but like The way he plays the game of football.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see him remaining healthy playing and we know Yeah, and you know when we did the trade for Travis under last year I was It was through the roof about it because when I saw five foot ten hundred eighty pounds.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_02]: I went okay, man like that
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: That isn't that that's a good demographic for a kicker, you know, you know, you don't see a lot of boys that that step on the scale and have that little ass on them, you know, make it in the NFL and survive the physical toll that that's put on them, where when I look at carnival tape, I see a grown ass man that he can take hits, he's shown that, you know, in the shoe and I mean, like you guys have said, you know, we have to go back in the books quite a ways.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: to name a Ohio State wider receiver that is coming to the league and not been, you know, a high contributor to the offense or a part of.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so to be it's a slam dunk, I hope all the other teams just snooze on it.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I'm with you guys.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_02]: If Cardinal takes not there at six, I'm at that point, like,
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: go ahead, bury, and do your little drug deals and get more draft fix.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm cool with that, man.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: What I get really scared is when the clock hits, and we're on the six-fig and cardinal tape is there and we're like, okay, just do it, and then Andrew Barry's like, you know what?
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to get cute, and I'm going to try to do
- 21:26[SPEAKER_02]: some improbable thing and talk myself out of this pick because I'm convinced that if I get two more picks or something like that, that's going to be productive for this team.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I can turn those into hits or whatever.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, so I that that's what I get more nervous about sitting there at six and carnival tapes there and Andrew Barry has the ball on his hand with one second left on the clock.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like that is that is the scariest circumstance to me and so it's if I can't have tape, I just hope he's gone by pig six because I don't I don't know if I could deal with the heartbreak and as much as Andrew Barry surprises last year, man, I I really don't
- 22:08[SPEAKER_02]: I can't see him read the performing on us because I don't think there's that much hidden talent in this draft, or maybe I'm totally wrong.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_05]: But I think the thing that scares me the most, too, is our two biggest positions of needs are the two biggest positions that he's routinely like failed at being able to address wide receiver and tackle and the other one would be like interior defensive line, he did better in free agency and with Mason last year, but up until then,
- 22:38[SPEAKER_05]: every single year, none of whom are hitting.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_05]: So it does scare me a little bit that it's like his two bugaboo's are the ones are the two things that we need to hit on in this draft to be competitive this season.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_05]: So
- 22:54[SPEAKER_05]: especially if Tate's gone and then he has to start thinking like to me and Tate's such a note-brainer.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_05]: If he's gone and he has to start thinking what's he going to do then?
- 23:02[SPEAKER_05]: That also scares me.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: And there's also a little bit of the mindset of, well, I could trade back a little bit, recoup some picks and still get the guy one.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: But that if they do that to me that indicate it's not Tate because there's zero percent chance in my mind that Tate makes it anywhere outside the top 10 because as soon as you get past us at six,
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: You've got the commander sitting there at seven.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: They've been heavily invested in turnout tape this off season.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: So he's there.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think they take him or the saints or the chiefs.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got the dolphins at 11, who desperately need a wide receiver.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: So he's gone.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you go back to 12, you are saying, I don't want turnout tape.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take somebody else.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_05]: So I think there's a chance.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_05]: Based on these team needs, are we going to see three receivers take it in the top 12?
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: It wouldn't surprise me, man.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of goes to what Peter Schrager was alluding to.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_05]: Because I mean, that's the jets could use one.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_05]: Cardinals could use what Cardinals could use one.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_05]: The Titans could definitely use.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, one.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_05]: The giants don't necessarily need one, but I think there's talk about pairing a top level guy with milk neighbors out there.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_05]: We need one.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_05]: The commander's saints and chiefs all need one.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_05]: The dolphins need I mean, there's a chance.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_05]: Who know, four of the first 12 picks or wider severs?
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: There's a chance, there's absolutely a chance, especially with the depth on defense in this first round.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: You could see some of those offensive players get pushed up the board because teams are thinking, well, I can wait on the defense because it's so deep at, you know, edge rusher this draft and corner back and safety and line back.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you could grab one of these top guys in the top 10, sunny styles, Caleb down.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, those are great players.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: Don't get me wrong, they're the best players in this draft.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: This draft is great for those, those spots.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think that the one, I'm good of indication that I saw about where we're going.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why his name is flipping my mind, but the left tackle that we have that keeps getting hurt.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's the one that's got it.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the one Jones was on a podcast.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: I want to say like this last week or something.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: I saw an interview and he was talking about, you know, meeting the head coach and all that.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: It seemed to give, like, indications of, like, positive, you know, communication.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: And so the only, like, hope I have in my heart, and like, it's one of those things, man, where I agree with the podcast, like, I agree with you guys last year with, you know, this, this wonderful marriage started, and I was listening to you guys for the first time, and we were like, hey, like, we can't go into the season, depend on Duan Jones, to start at
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: based off this podcast that he had, the Juan Jones is giving the indications like, maybe that coach is investing, maybe that coach does believe in this kid.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: And if Juan Jones starting at left tackle is the forcing function that the Cleveland Browns need to draft Cardinal Tate, then I'm good with it.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I guess you got to do a deal somewhere.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the only indication of everything that I've been watching over the last week
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we are going wide receiver because maybe it's just we've been active with filling the offensive line But I think everyone can agree that like a right-handed quarterback the most critical position on that offensive line is the left tackle and it's the one thing that we haven't really addressed But then you have this six foot nine three hundred and forty-pound man sitting there and Berea working out.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: I did so it
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: I saw if they said Andrew Barry, I didn't see where he actually said this quote, but they were saying he did say that Titus Howard could move over and play left tackle if needed.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: So he's not necessarily locked into the right side.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I think there's going to be some good tackle prospects available at 24.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: You know, even if there's a run on tackles in the teams and then you're sitting there It's like, well, we want to get a tackle and you got Blake Miller and Max I and not sure like those are some good tackle prospects, too I don't think the gap between the top tackles and those guys is all that big That's why I'm not big on trying to force a tackle at six
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: I completely agree with you, man, I, and that's the one thing that, you know, kind of makes me nervous is when the Brown start trying to force something to happen.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think that if there was, you know, if there was a left tackle in this draft, there was a joke on its junior, ace off what?
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: we're seeing there there doesn't seem to be that guy but you know there is there there is some some pretty what I feel will be dominant wide receivers for the next 10 to 15 years in this league in this draft and I just hope that one of them's wearing a Cleveland Browns uniform suit up on Sunday.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: Amen to that man.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're going to get Brad up here next Adam.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate hearing from you.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: Was there anything else before you go?
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: Now boys, I'm just here to chit chat, man.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think so much and I'll be sitting here listening, man.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: All right, man, appreciate you.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get you up here next.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, there we go.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_04]: What is the guys?
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: How you doing?
- 28:27[SPEAKER_04]: I'm building the stadium for you all.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_04]: It's going to be really expensive by the way.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, really I hadn't heard.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not my mom.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Blake, you want me to make any more reviews for you?
- 28:47[SPEAKER_04]: Cause you know, really good at them.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, just don't get me fired.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_05]: So what's going on, Brad?
- 28:57[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, thank you.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_04]: So, I had a question for you, guys.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_04]: Do you remember the crash out of the last year?
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, well, I don't think that crash out is going to happen this year.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, for this week's going to happen.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_04]: I think
- 29:23[SPEAKER_04]: Personally, Gary's going to stay at six and he's going to take what he views as the best available player.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_05]: Who do you think that is?
- 29:39[SPEAKER_04]: So here's my thing.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_04]: If Kate is there at six, I feel like he's just going to rip him right off the board and take him.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_04]: he's going to take his best tackle.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_04]: Who do you think that?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, whatever he views as the best tackle on the draft, he's going to take it.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_04]: Now, it is taking him proctor.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we can crash out a little bit, but it is a tackle.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_04]: So,
- 30:18[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, be that as it may, do I do I think he needs to be picked up next?
- 30:23[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely not, but I'm just saying, you know, if he viewed them as the best tackle in the draft from his people and his view point, then that's what it's going to be.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Keaton Proctor just, and it's interesting.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get into these mock drafts that came out the other day.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: You had Todd McShay, Mel Kiper, Jr., and Dave Brueller, and all three of them had the Browns trading back with the Cowboys going to 12 and taking a tackle, McShay, and Kiper both had us taking Keaton Proctor, which
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: The upside with Caden Proctor is there.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not gonna say it's not.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he, the dude is massive.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's 6, 7, 355 pounds, the problem with the weight is the fluctuation plate at what was it?
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: Three, was it 390 or 380?
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: Something like that fluctuated between that.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's down around 350.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to try to maintain that.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: There's questions about whether or not he can or it will be able to.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's got some inconsistent tape for being and I was doing the Jake Burns Browns film breakdown.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: For a 40, you know, I got career 40 starts in college football, Alabama, like the tape should look better at this point, you know, later in his career and the inconsistencies is just worrisome.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to draft a guy.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_05]: If we're picking somebody in the top 10, the tape should be great.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I don't want to be talking about inconsistencies.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_05]: Raw needs developed could be great high ceiling.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_05]: These are all words for bust.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_05]: I want pick the guy who just consistently put out great tape out there.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_05]: A guy with Carson swishing your like tape.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, you turned on the tape a Carson and I know he wasn't a first round pick or top 10 pick.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_05]: But you turned on the tape for Carson and you were like holy crap.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_05]: This guy is
- 32:21[SPEAKER_05]: everywhere.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_05]: His highlight tape was just one game.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_05]: And then he had, you know, 15 other games, just like that.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to pick a guy who's like, well, no, our NFL coaches should be able to get him to do this or get him to do that or be able to properly motor.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_05]: You mean to tell me the chance to be a first on traffic isn't proper motivation enough to keep your weight in check and to put good tape out there, you know, like,
- 32:45[SPEAKER_05]: If you didn't have the motivation before you had 10 million dollars guaranteed signing bonus whatever, what is your, it's jet wheels all over again.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_05]: What is your motivation going to be once you see all the zeros in your bank account?
- 32:58[SPEAKER_05]: Because I just, like, that's something I'm not touching.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_04]: I do have, I do have an interesting trade scenario for you guys, okay?
- 33:08[SPEAKER_04]: Has nothing to do the first round whatsoever and not saying something couldn't happen in the first round, it could.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_04]: I'm talking about the second.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_04]: Barry has been one to trade up into the second and third round before.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_04]: Not a lot, but he's done it
- 33:32[SPEAKER_04]: Was it once?
- 33:32[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that was twice.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: Just just J, okay.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_04]: Anyways, I'm thinking we can trade number 70 and 102 to trade back into the second round and pick the best available safety or corner towards the end of the second round.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I wouldn't hate that.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think that there's going to be some really good players in that range that would be worth coming up and getting the second round this year is interesting to me.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like putting together mock drafts, I always struggle when I get to that point because I'm like man, I like this guy, I like this guy, I like this guy.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many guys in the second round that I think could be very good starting level players for the Browns.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's really hard to pick just one when you're sitting there 39.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's hard.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_04]: It's harder to pick like, okay, so you get it.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_04]: You get a wide receiver in my thoughts in my first crown.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_04]: You're sitting at 39.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, do we take another tackle?
- 34:34[SPEAKER_04]: Do we take best available safety corner at that position?
- 34:39[SPEAKER_04]: Kind of hard.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Brad, hit us with one more question or pointer and then we're going to get Stacy up here.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, is there a player you think that Andrew Barry during the draft?
- 34:53[SPEAKER_04]: would train one of our first round picks for anywhere in the NFL that we can get that you see value.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_05]: I could see I'm trading like that late first round draft pick for like Brian Thomas Jr. something like that like one of those wide receivers.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_05]: I could see, especially if we don't take one at six, it takes gone and they end up not do.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_05]: I could see them taking a trade for one of these
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I could see that too.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: I, and it depends too, because if there is that run, like you just said, if we don't go receiver at six, and all those guys go off the board before we get onto the board at 24, then I think that pick does become open for business for a wider receiver.

- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: Could it be Marvin Harrison Jr., I doubt it.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: But that would be fun.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: Stay see what's up.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: Morning, guys.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: How's it going?
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_00]: So I just wanted to talk about the draft, obviously, and my opinion on it.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_00]: But obviously, I'm on board with everyone at six.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's a no-brainer.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: We have to take Tate if he's on the board.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: But the more I've been thinking about it, the more I kind of feel like at six if Tate is gone.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't hate the idea of taking a Kylemon.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason is because I just feel, if we were to trade back to 12 with Dallas, I feel like the commanders, the saints, and even the dolphins, and maybe even the chiefs, those teams right there, I just feel like there's no way that my Kylemon makes it through that those amount of teams, and then he gets to us at 12.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I do feel like in my opinion, my Kylemon is the number two receiver
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I just feel like we are at such need of a wide receiver that I would be okay with taking him at six, but then when it comes to a trade back at twelve.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_00]: Um, if we were to turn back at 12, I, like I said, I don't think the Kylaman would be available.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I just don't know.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a huge fan of Jordan Tyson.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like I keep thinking back to when Blake said, if someone has like stuff there toe, then they're going to come here and it's going to be like a foot amputation or something.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_00]: So, because it's true, I just feel like I don't know if it's like our sports staff because even like the calves Like they have issues with injuries constantly like It's just I don't know what it is the water and Cleveland, but everybody just seems to get hurt and I just don't think that If art when we're taking a receiver in the first round that should be our number one receiver regard this of who it might be and I just feel like Taking ties in is such a risk so
- 39:23[SPEAKER_00]: at six, like I said, I would take the kind of amount of take tape.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then if we were to trip trade back to 12, because I just feel like that's the only team I really see us being able to trade back with.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know, maybe as one draft day comes, we'll be surprised and we'll get some crazy deal with another team.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: But as of right now, it just seems like the cowboys are the team that everyone's linking us to.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_00]: So at 12, I would say, I don't know,
- 39:53[SPEAKER_00]: And again, as time has gone on, I just feel like, I feel like he's one of those players that's like getting hyped up.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and I don't know why exactly, because I think at one point he was mocked to be at like a pic 70 for something crazy.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: Athletic testing goes to what Blake was saying about Proctor.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then like we were saying like nothing's happened and from from now until then like no football has been played it's just been the testing the combine and stuff like that so I just don't know if it's the media hyping him up like all these people just saying he's really really good and I just don't want to be the people that pick the player that's getting hyped up because again I just don't think it's going to work out in our favor so I personally really like as far as tackles go I do really like Caleb low moon.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he is he's played a lot of games and I think that he has enough experience that I would feel comfortable taking him now I don't know if I would be comfortable taking him at 12 I know they talked about this scenario of like us getting 12 and 20 from Dallas I don't know how that would happen unless maybe we give up the second round pick that we have which and then that would be that would be kind of cool to have a couple first round picks
- 41:07[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe I would take him at 20, but a 12, I don't know.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like trading back to 12 is so scary to me because one I hate trading back and two, I just don't know what the town is gonna be there at that time.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: No, you're right, because like last year, the tradeback was two to five.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: It was three spots and you were still in the top five.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's a different story.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: Six to 12.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I know it doesn't sound like that big of a difference.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: Numbers wise, but it is, especially in this draft class.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I had, I did a podcast the other night just came out today with Brian Boesarge, from draftcountdown.com.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, the play for the Browns at Six is Tate.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's in his opinion.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he said.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then he said at 24, go get Caleb Lomu from Utah because he, Caleb Lomu is Brian's number one tackle in the straft.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: He said so.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: I would have to say I think he's mine too.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's going to be a good player.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just don't know.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: The talent this year just doesn't seem like it's, it's, it's that good.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a lot of like experimental players, a lot of players that you could have high ceilings and or could crash and burn.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't know, I just think it sticks.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_00]: If you were given that pick, just stay with it and take the best available player.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, and I don't, and then when I say that for me, I don't mean defense.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, best available offensive player.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_00]: Whoever that might be.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think Andrew Barry taking the obvious receiver at six is a big deal because when you see him left to his own devices later in the draft even if it's later in the first round when there's other options on the board or a lot of guys are already off the board.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's when it gets pretty hairy for him.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: Pick in that position.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and also I think I take it back when I say offensive best offensive player available.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think I solely mean best wide receiver.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: because I'm just so over us not having a wider seaver.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then as far as the Brian Thomas and maybe even Marvin Harrison trade at like 24, I would give up that pick in a heartbeat, 24, goodbye, see you later.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_00]: If we can get one of those two players, I would give that up in two seconds.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_00]: And while I'm at it, I'm gonna send you a subject to them in two, because I'm just tired of seeing that guy in a Browns uniform.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: He just drives me nuts, like the constant injuries
- 43:31[SPEAKER_00]: And it's because the potential is there.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_00]: I like the game.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you see him like make plays in the, I have a couple big games here and there and it's like, this dude can, he can actually be a good receiver, but then there's no consistency.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: It never happens again.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, you know, three months until you see him do anything special again.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just frustrating.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just, I just, D.P.J.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: vibes, I feel.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: D.P.J.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: was way better.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, even even Dr.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: He's way better.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, I'm with you with the McCuy Lemon thing.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_05]: It's six.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_05]: Like, if Tates out there, would I listen to offers for six?
- 44:07[SPEAKER_05]: Probably listen, they'd have to like really wow me.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_05]: Like, this we're going to talk about these mocks.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_05]: The trade that makes shake came up with to me is just, why would the Browns ever do that?
- 44:18[SPEAKER_05]: But I would also McCuy Lemon to me's the second best receiver.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_05]: He's like, uh, in Alman Ross ain't brown kind of guy, just take that guy then type like I'm with you, Stacey, I'm just tired watching the browns have nobody to throw to other than a running back or tight end.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_05]: I need I need a wide receiver who can catch the ball and can make plays and can threaten a defense downfield.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_05]: So just take the best wide receiver.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_05]: We don't need a defensive player.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_05]: We don't need a running back.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_05]: I'm at the point I would take two wide receivers.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_05]: I would take a test one that's there at six.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_05]: And I hope there's another really and one of the top guys somehow there's still one there at 24.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_05]: I would take them both.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_05]: And then go with that offensive line with our first pick in the second round.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_05]: That would be my challenge.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_05]: I'd be taking two.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe get like a Blake Miller in the second round.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like I do like him and I think he's a decent tackle.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's okay, but yeah, I know I'm 100% with that.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_00]: What two wide receivers.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like when teams play us,
- 45:17[SPEAKER_00]: because what do you do?
- 45:18[SPEAKER_00]: You literally blitz the quarterback because he has nobody to throw to, or you stack up the line because we're gonna run the ball.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's just, it's the easiest game plan on defense defenses are probably salivating when they come to play us, because it's just eat up boys pretty much.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they're like, who's there, you know, one of their top-out side receivers?
- 45:38[SPEAKER_01]: Gage larvae, who?
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, well, we have to worry about this.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_00]: No, exactly.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: All right, well, it's good here for you, Stacey.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you have one more time.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say one last thing, just for me, too.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: Just real quick, at the end of the, at the end of the first round with our 24 pic, I feel like I've been seeing a lot of mock drafts with us taking like that safety from Toledo's, or even like a corner back.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh,
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: For me, again, I just think that those are great players don't get me wrong, but we just have needs in other areas that like we could wait for like a Genesis Smith or we could wait for someone further back for that decision.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think it.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, blood clark.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that we we definitely need to address it, but I don't think that we need to pick that early on and waste those picks.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_00]: And in the opinion, it would be a waste those picks on that position.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_05]: All I've heard from Browns fans the last two to three years is Stephens is good enough that if we just had competent offensive play, the Browns could be competitive.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_05]: And then we get to draft season and I'm hearing Browns fans pounding the table for us to draft defensive players.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, all I've heard from you guys is that the defense is good enough to win games.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_05]: We just need competent offense and we have a chance to get offensive players in your pound in the table to take defensive players.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_05]: we can't get out of our own way.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_05]: I don't understand that thought process at all.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_01]: No, but I think now I'm not pounding the table.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: This is not a that kind of moment, but I do agree with Stacey.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't be surprised if we get to 24 and they take Emmanuel McNeill Warren, the safety out of Toledo.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard from several different insiders, you know, these guys that do the draft stuff that the Browns are high on the kid.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_01]: They've spent a lot of time with him.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: You got Rootenberg, the new DC, who specializes in the secondary.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: He had Xavier Watts last year, has raved about him, which we should have him, but instead we have Dylan Gabriel.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_01]: And so now we need a safety.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: I...
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying be prepared to be disappointed about not getting an offensive player 24 if he's on the board.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_00]: If we pick him at 24, then we sure is how better a pick to ever see you at six.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is like I like him.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a good player.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't hate having him on the team.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's just goes to what do we really need here more?
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: And this is deep.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_00]: Get a pepper screen with no receiver.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what I'll do at this team.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, if you guys let me crash out and the draft last year was bad.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_05]: Just get out of the first round without picking an offensive player or a wide receiver.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Mike, there's going to be some broken technology on the set.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's for sure.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then last thing, Kenny, Kenny and I, I think everybody might have seen it.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're in the discord, we're going to be going to Nico's on set day two of the draft.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's a North Royal tin, so people will show up there.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_00]: We have a good night, at least being misery together.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's the case.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there you go, guys, hang out with us on the live stream on Thursday night and then for night two, go hang out with Kenny Mac and Stacey.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_00]: And Brad, I think it's going of course.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: And Brad, and anybody else in the dog pack that decides to head up there and hang out with you guys.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: That would be a great opportunity for everybody to get together.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: And like you said, share in the misery.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: See what we do at 39.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, more than Mary, good talking to you guys.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_01]: All right, thanks, Daisy.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we got a few minutes left here, Blake.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_01]: Let me hit you with these mock drafts and just get your blind reactions to them.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: So the first one was Todd McShay.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_01]: So you said not a big fan of this tradeback and neither am I, but
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: They were trading picks six of the Cowboys, we get back 12, 92, which is the back end of the third round.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_01]: And then the Cowboys, 20, 27 second round pick.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_01]: And then at 12, we took Caden Proctor, 24 Casey Concepcion.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_05]: What do we, I don't understand, so I like Todd McShare, I think he knows his stuff.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_05]: And what world does that make sense for the Browns?
- 49:29[SPEAKER_05]: You're gonna, you don't get a top 10 pick out of us.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_05]: And we don't even get a first round pick, an extra first round pick back, not even next year.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_05]: We don't even get your second round pick this year.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they don't have one this year.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_05]: That's why all the way to the third round.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have a second round pick this year to take.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think they have two thirds.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm currently reading your lips right now because I just keep losing sound.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_05]: But I think I can also tell that you're disgusted.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_05]: Am I back?
- 49:57[SPEAKER_05]: Just like I, yes, you're back now.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_05]: OK, I don't know why I keep going out.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: I was saying that the Cowboys do not have a second round pick this year.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why that's not in there.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: They have two thirds.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: I believe the other one is 85 and then 92.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know why we wouldn't at least get the higher of it.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: But I guess the second round pick in next year, I understand the thought process there because you're gearing up to get as much ammo in the draft next year to move up in the first round wherever you need to to get your quarterback.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's what everybody's thinking.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just, I'm trying to get the best players I can right now.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's a terrible trade.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_05]: That makes no sense for the Cleveland Browns.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: No, and 92, honestly, is right where Andrew Barry decides to just, I said this the other day, flush his picks down the toilet.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_01]: At 94, Dylan Gabriel 85, Zach Zent, or 98, Siaki Ike, 99, David Bell, 91, Anthony Schwartz, 88, Jordan Elliott, and 97 Jacob Phillips.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need another pick in the 90s for Andrew Barry.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's just going to shit on it.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't need it.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_01]: So let's move into this melt-caper junior mock.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: You probably like this one better.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: So we give up 6 and 39 and get 12 and 20.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_05]: That's one I could deal with a little bit more.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_05]: The only thing that scares me is, if we talked about who knows how many these wider severs are gonna be gone by 12.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_01]: right.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_01]: So in this one at 12, then they mock.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: He mocks Kate and Proctor again.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the second Kate and Proctor at 12.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_01]: We get Denzel Boston at 20.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: So he's still on the board.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_01]: We get up in front of the Steelers at 21.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_01]: Take Denzel Boston.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then at 24, he's got to take in Jermod McCoy, the corner back out of 10 to see which.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: I've been reading some teams.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if this is confirmed, but some teams believe.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_01]: He has a degenerative knee issue.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: He coming off that ACL tear last year.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that was an interesting pick for us at 24.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_05]: So the trade's better, but I don't like, I also had a Boston.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_05]: Don't like the pick either.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_05]: We already have a, basically we have a kid in practice on our team.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_05]: His name's DeWan Jones.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, with you.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, just,
- 52:05[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know, maybe I'm crazy, but just go get offensive players.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_05]: I can catch the ball and score touchdowns.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_05]: And I know we need the offensive line, but the depth of the offensive line is better.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's not as high end.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_05]: I feel like the tackles don't need to be taking in the top 10.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_05]: Then there's also more of them that you can wait to get them in the late first or second round.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_05]: Then there is skill position players, especially wider receivers.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_05]: Just give me wider receivers.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, if you can just stay at 6 and 24, just take the two best wide receivers that are available.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_05]: I'm hoping we need, we need Jerry Judy to not need to be on our team.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_05]: That's how the Browns get better.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I agree with you on that one, and you know, I was talking to Brian Bosa as the other night.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, obviously, we look at the offensive lines and say, well, they don't have a left-locked and left tackle.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_01]: We could use, you know, everyone's about the tackle.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: but if you don't, if you do what you said and take two wider seers and you don't address tack on the first round, why are we having to force a tackle onto our roster in the second round?
- 53:10[SPEAKER_01]: There are some very good interior offensive linemen that would be good starters on this team for years and years to come, I'm sure.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: So, would it be better to get a good long-term starter at guard this year than try to force a tackle in my opinion, probably.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, well then let's just kick it last last this Dane Brugler mock and he did the entire draft.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_01]: He went all seven rounds, all 32 teams and what we came away with first of all was another trade back.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: So, trading again with the Cowboys, 6 and 39 and we get 12, 20, but in his mock we get their 20, 27 fourth round picks so we get a little extra.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_01]: on top of the two first.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: And then we come away with 12 Spencer Fano offensive tackle from Utah, 20 Casey Concepcion, the Texas A&M wide receiver.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_01]: At 24, he has this taking to manual McNeil Warren, the safety from Toledo, who we just talked about.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: 70, the Browns go defense again, Derek Moore, the Edge out of Michigan.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_01]: 107 is Mark Hell Bell, the offensive tackle out of Miami.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_01]: 146 will cast Merrick, the Titan from Ohio State, who Brian Boesars did say.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_01]: Wilkass Merrick projects to be like a decent, you know, tight end in the league for a decade, like he's going to make rosters.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, then back to 149, Jaden Kennedy, the corner back out of Oregon, 206, David Gusta, defensive tackle from Kentucky, and 240, it was Carson Sharard, linebacker out of Iowa.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_01]: Now those lie to the 206 and 240 apex, I hate even mocking those because I feel like those are going to be used as ammo to move up.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_01]: Blake seems to have lost the audio yet again.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_01]: So we're just going to wrap this thing up for today.
