- 0:03Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:06Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:10Speaker 1: Amy Torber and coming up on today's show, the blow
- 0:14Speaker 1: up over the viral Henny cardigan. Sky Wheatley's partner's business
- 0:18Speaker 1: goes into external administration and M.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Davies touching baby news.
- 0:24Speaker 1: But first, Sophie, you're still reeling from Molly May and
- 0:27Speaker 1: Tommy Fury's breakup news. As the official outspoken correspondent, can.
- 0:31Speaker 2: You tell us the latest?
- 0:32Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we haven't heard any confirmation yet from Molly May.
- 0:35Speaker 1: She has remained silent on this topic. But that hasn't
- 0:38Speaker 1: stopped the rumour mill from going into absolute overdrive. We
- 0:42Speaker 1: are swimming in a lot of rumours on the internet
- 0:44Speaker 1: at the moment. The one gaining the most traction is
- 0:47Speaker 1: the rumour that Tommy cheated on Molly during an alcohol-fuelled
- 0:51Speaker 1: lads holiday to North Macedonia with a Danish girl. Well,
- 0:55Speaker 1: this was actually printed in The Sun. Yeah, according to
- 0:58Speaker 1: The Sun, Tommy was seen kissing a blonde woman in
- 1:00Speaker 1: a nightclub during what they describe as a 2am vodka binge. Now,
- 1:05Speaker 1: this was reportedly just days before Molly May announced their
- 1:08Speaker 1: split on Instagram. A source who claims to have witnessed
- 1:12Speaker 1: the kiss told The Sun he was down in Grey
- 1:14Speaker 1: Goose Vodka and didn't seem to care who saw him
- 1:17Speaker 1: with the girl.
- 1:18Speaker 2: He kissed her.
- 1:19Speaker 1: This will be heartbreaking for Molly May. There was also
- 1:22Speaker 1: a quote that interested me from Molly's so-called friend. And
- 1:26Speaker 1: the friend, of course, isn't named in this article, but
- 1:29Speaker 1: I would not be surprised if her manager, Fran, was
- 1:32Speaker 1: briefing the press. So the friend was quoted in the
- 1:35Speaker 1: newspaper as saying, Molly was told he had cheated on
- 1:37Speaker 1: her with a Danish woman he'd met while he was
- 1:40Speaker 1: away in Macedonia. She didn't want to believe it was true.
- 1:44Speaker 1: When she confronted him and asked him if he had
- 1:46Speaker 1: cheated on her, Tommy didn't deny it. It told Molly
- 1:49Speaker 1: May all she needed to know and she ended it.
- 1:52Speaker 1: He's moved out of the house and she's absolutely reeling
- 1:54Speaker 1: from it all. Tommy's management team have also been working hard.
- 1:58Speaker 2: In the background trying to shoot down some of these rumours.
- 2:00Speaker 1: They released a statement saying that he has been left
- 2:03Speaker 1: horrified by the false rumours and he is also consulting
- 2:06Speaker 1: currently with his lawyers because of these rumours that are
- 2:09Speaker 1: being circulated by the media. It's pretty bold of his
- 2:11Speaker 1: team to come out and label these allegations as false.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Because surely there is a woman waiting in the wings,
- 2:18Speaker 1: just getting ready to tell her story. Yeah, but when
- 2:20Speaker 1: they're talking about false rumors, I think what they're referring
- 2:23Speaker 1: to are the rumors that we touched on on Friday's episode.
- 2:27Speaker 1: And that was in relation to a TikTok rumor that
- 2:30Speaker 1: Tommy had impregnated a boxing coach's daughter.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Now that gained a lot of momentum online and people
- 2:37Speaker 1: were harassing the woman, leaving comments saying, tell us that
- 2:41Speaker 1: this isn't Tommy Fury's child. And her dad had to
- 2:44Speaker 1: come out and say, I couldn't believe what we woke
- 2:46Speaker 1: up to. She has a lovely partner. Here's a photo
- 2:49Speaker 1: of them together. So I think that his team are saying, look,
- 2:53Speaker 1: this rumour is not true. It's been proven to be untrue.
- 2:56Speaker 1: So you've got to be really careful about what you're
- 2:57Speaker 1: going to post in the future. Yeah, you need to
- 2:59Speaker 1: get your sources not from TikTok. That's right. That could
- 3:02Speaker 1: be a good start. Now, the paparazzi have been camped
- 3:05Speaker 1: outside Molly's house for days now, which would just be
- 3:09Speaker 1: so incredibly tough when you're going through a breakup. That
- 3:12Speaker 1: being said, I was very interested to see Who were
- 3:15Speaker 1: her support people in that moment? Because we do know
- 3:17Speaker 1: that her sister is currently away on her honeymoon. And
- 3:20Speaker 1: it was so cute because her dad rocked up with
- 3:22Speaker 1: a bunch of flowers. And he has also unfollowed Tommy
- 3:26Speaker 1: on Instagram, which sends a strong message. Fran, her manager,
- 3:29Speaker 1: was also there. as well as a handful of her
- 3:32Speaker 1: other friends. And everyone has been waiting to catch the
- 3:35Speaker 1: first glimpse of Molly since the breakup.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Well, everyone wants to see if she's doing okay. Yeah.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And it didn't disappoint because the paparazzi snapped Molly and
- 3:43Speaker 1: her friends in the car at the McDonald's drive-thru.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Can she be any more relatable?
- 3:48Speaker 1: That's the first thing that anyone does when they're going
- 3:50Speaker 1: through a breakup. They've got to get in the car
- 3:52Speaker 1: with their friends, put on breakup music and get McDonald's.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Like, It is the best therapy.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I would have loved to know what was on their
- 4:00Speaker 1: playlist and what they.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Were discussing in that car.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I want to know what they ordered. What about the
- 4:03Speaker 1: person who's serving Molly Mae though?
- 4:05Speaker 2: How awkward. You're like, tell me everything.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Now the paparazzi also snapped photos of Tommy returning home briefly.
- 4:12Speaker 1: He was only there for 40 minutes on Friday, but
- 4:15Speaker 1: it's believed it's the first time Tommy and Molly have
- 4:18Speaker 1: seen each other since their split. And everyone is talking
- 4:21Speaker 1: about what is going to happen to their beautiful six
- 4:24Speaker 1: bedroom mansion. So interestingly, there are reports that according to
- 4:29Speaker 1: the land registry papers, this house, which was bought for
- 4:32Speaker 1: 3.8 million pounds in 2022, was solely purchased in Molly's name.
- 4:38Speaker 1: So this means that Tommy is unlikely to have any
- 4:42Speaker 1: financial stake in this property. I am so happy to
- 4:45Speaker 1: hear that because you can just tell what a safe
- 4:47Speaker 1: haven that home is for Molly. It has her written
- 4:49Speaker 1: all over it. It's her interior design. So I'm glad
- 4:52Speaker 1: it looks like she'll get to keep that in the split. Well,
- 4:54Speaker 1: That works because if you're a de facto in Australia,
- 4:57Speaker 1: regardless of if your name is on the paperwork, you
- 5:00Speaker 1: still have some claim to the property. I don't know
- 5:03Speaker 1: if the rules are different in the UK, but I'm
- 5:05Speaker 1: hoping that Molly is able to keep the house. Now,
- 5:07Speaker 1: for those who were hoping that maybe Tommy and Molly
- 5:10Speaker 1: might be able to work through their issues, it's looking
- 5:13Speaker 1: more and more unlikely because a large skip has been
- 5:16Speaker 1: seen outside the mansion with a suitcase poking out the
- 5:20Speaker 1: top of it. And many think that this skip is
- 5:23Speaker 1: slowly going to be filled with Tommy's belongings and that
- 5:26Speaker 1: suitcase is his.
- 5:27Speaker 2: If a picture doesn't paint a thousand words.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I think that she wants the paparazzi to see him
- 5:32Speaker 1: having to fish that suitcase out of the skip because
- 5:34Speaker 1: that would be absolutely iconic. It just sends the strong
- 5:37Speaker 1: message that he has done something and we're all waiting
- 5:40Speaker 1: to unpack what that is.
- 5:41Speaker 2: He needs to be put in the bin, doesn't he?
- 5:43Speaker 3: Yes. I don't give a shit what fucking cardigan you wear.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Author Kate Forster says she's been inundated with prank calls
- 5:52Speaker 1: and online abuse since creating a TikTok video calling out
- 5:56Speaker 1: the viral Henny cardigan. The 53-year-old questioned why young people
- 6:00Speaker 1: all want to look the same by wearing the cult
- 6:03Speaker 1: cardigan created by fashion influencer Nadia Bartel. So this cardigan
- 6:08Speaker 1: has been all over my For You page.
- 6:10Speaker 2: It is everywhere.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Every time I go on TikTok, I'm seeing a fashion
- 6:15Speaker 1: influencer either reviewing this cardigan or or showing how to
- 6:18Speaker 1: style it. Now, the cardigan is called Celine, and what
- 6:22Speaker 1: makes it stand out is the fact that it's fluffy.
- 6:24Speaker 1: So it's made from alpaca blend, and it comes in
- 6:27Speaker 1: a range of different colors. It currently retails for $ 229,
- 6:32Speaker 1: which is quite expensive for a cardigan.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I mean, it is pricey.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I don't own the Viral Henny cardigan, and I want
- 6:39Speaker 1: to put it out there, please no one come after me.
- 6:42Speaker 1: But I know that this is one item of clothing
- 6:44Speaker 1: that my husband would pay me out for wearing. So
- 6:46Speaker 1: it's more of like girls get this kind of fashion.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. This is something that I don't think guys
- 6:52Speaker 2: would get.
- 6:53Speaker 1: And for the purpose of this podcast, I asked my husband,
- 6:56Speaker 1: what is your take on this cardigan? And he said
- 6:58Speaker 1: that he thinks I would look like a little kiwi
- 7:01Speaker 1: fruit wearing it.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Which isn't actually that bad. Like that's kind of cute.
- 7:04Speaker 2: A little Kiwi fruit with fur on it.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I actually think it's a quite a cute way to
- 7:08Speaker 1: describe it, but I pushed him even further and he
- 7:11Speaker 1: said that it kind of looked like the designer got
- 7:13Speaker 1: a glue stick, rubbed it all over the cardigan and
- 7:16Speaker 1: then someone rolled around in hair. Are you trying to
- 7:18Speaker 1: get Brandon cancelled? Because people are very passionate about this cardigan. Well,
- 7:22Speaker 1: after he gave me his honest review, I told him
- 7:25Speaker 1: that women are coming after anyone who speaks badly about
- 7:27Speaker 1: this cardigan and he looked genuinely horrified and he pleaded.
- 7:31Speaker 2: With me not to mention his comments.
- 7:33Speaker 1: So it looks like a really cozy cardigan. Yeah, it
- 7:35Speaker 1: is being touted as this perfect winter staple because it
- 7:38Speaker 1: looks very warm, especially if you're living in Melbourne where
- 7:41Speaker 1: it's extra cold. Now, this cardigan is currently so hard
- 7:45Speaker 1: to get your hands on. because it is so hyped
- 7:48Speaker 1: up on TikTok.
- 7:50Speaker 4: I have been trying to get my hands on the
- 7:52Speaker 4: items in this package for quite literally months, so I'm
- 7:55Speaker 4: very excited to open them. We've all seen the viral
- 7:58Speaker 4: Henny cardigans. I got in two colors, so let's try
- 8:01Speaker 4: them on.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I have noticed that TikTokers are always leaving their LTK
- 8:05Speaker 1: codes that their followers can go and shop their Henny look.
- 8:08Speaker 1: And on the Henny website, this cardigan is currently out
- 8:11Speaker 1: of stock, but there's a little countdown to when it
- 8:13Speaker 1: will be back. So I think it's almost a way
- 8:15Speaker 1: to build hype. Like, oh my God, I've got to
- 8:17Speaker 1: get my hands.
- 8:18Speaker 2: On this cardigan.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but despite it being out of stock, the Henny
- 8:21Speaker 1: marketing team is continuing to drip feed gifted cardigans to
- 8:26Speaker 1: micro influencers purely so they'll post about it, creating more
- 8:29Speaker 1: hype around this item. Well, yeah, I recently saw one
- 8:32Speaker 1: TikToker who has 4,000 followers saying that Henny had just
- 8:36Speaker 1: dropped her the out of stock cardigan, which then motivated
- 8:40Speaker 1: her to create a try on video about it.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Here's what she said. I must be in Henny's Good Books.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Today, unannounced, the postman arrived with a delivery and.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Inside was the sold out Celine cardigan.
- 8:57Speaker 1: It's basically impossible to get your hands on.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Somehow, I got sent one. I am so obsessed.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I think this is a really clever tactic because if
- 9:09Speaker 1: Henny were to gift this out-of-stock cardigan to large influencers.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I think that that would create a lot of animosity
- 9:16Speaker 1: and jealousy, but because they're gifting it to micro influencers
- 9:19Speaker 1: who feel like our friends, it's subtly reminding us, don't
- 9:23Speaker 1: forget about this cardigan.
- 9:24Speaker 2: It's coming out soon.
- 9:26Speaker 1: And also at the same time, we're hearing a micro
- 9:28Speaker 1: influencer who was so appreciative.
- 9:30Speaker 2: To get it.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 1: And this brand is one of those cool girl brands.
- 9:33Speaker 2: It's very chic. It's very Melbourne.
- 9:35Speaker 1: It was founded by influencer Nadia Bartel in 2019 with
- 9:38Speaker 1: her sister. And it has quickly become a cult favorite.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Now, this is where author Kate Forster enters the chat.
- 9:46Speaker 1: So she is a bestselling author who recently joined TikTok.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And in the space of a few weeks, she's gained
- 9:52Speaker 1: over 24,000 followers. And that's by sharing advice and fashion reviews.
- 9:57Speaker 1: And I have to put it out there. I am
- 9:58Speaker 1: a big fan of her content. She is refreshingly honest
- 10:02Speaker 1: and absolutely hilarious. Her content is very satirical and she
- 10:06Speaker 1: just says it how it is.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:07Speaker 1: She's been popping up a lot for me and I
- 10:09Speaker 1: find her content It's like, it's nothing serious. It's just funny.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I first came across her content when she created a
- 10:16Speaker 1: couple of TikToks about the witchery rebrand.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Here's a snippet of what she said.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Why? Why do you give a fuck about a mid-brand
- 10:25Speaker 3: like bloody witchery? But witchery is just not it. It
- 10:30Speaker 3: was never it.
- 10:31Speaker 2: It was always low.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Rent Mimco and I hate Mimco. So stop worrying about it.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Go and invest in better fashion, better quality, better style,
- 10:45Speaker 3: support young creators. I don't know, just fucking get over witchery.
- 10:51Speaker 1: As you can hear from this clip, she is hilarious,
- 10:53Speaker 1: but she's also very passionate about women supporting other brands
- 10:57Speaker 1: and not just the mainstream brands. Well, since that video,
- 11:01Speaker 1: she's reviewed Zimmerman, Country Road, Sports Girl, Cook Eye, Suzanne's
- 11:05Speaker 1: Spell and also White Fox.
- 11:07Speaker 2: White Fox was one of my favourites.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Go and check it out. Like, oh my God. So
- 11:11Speaker 2: spot on.
- 11:12Speaker 1: But it wasn't until she shared her thoughts on Henny
- 11:15Speaker 1: that her account really took off. Here's what she said.
- 11:18Speaker 3: So hear me out, right? I see all those girls.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I saw an influencer yesterday to say that all the
- 11:25Speaker 3: women of Australia, except for the fat ones, are wearing
- 11:28Speaker 3: the Henny cardigan. So I don't understand why girls who
- 11:32Speaker 3: say they're influencers are then all wearing the same uniform.
- 11:37Speaker 3: It's this Henny Cardi that, you know, I'm in my
- 11:42Speaker 3: late 20s, early 30s version of a white fox sweater.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I'm just questioning because I do see it a lot.
- 11:49Speaker 3: And I'm just wondering if you're going to be an
- 11:51Speaker 3: influencer and a fashionista, why are you not looking at
- 11:55Speaker 3: other brands for cardigans, for example? And cardigan, why do
- 12:00Speaker 3: you want to wear the same thing as everyone else?
- 12:03Speaker 1: Now, she is bang on describing the Henny cardigan as
- 12:07Speaker 1: the late 20s to 30s version.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Of the white fox jumper because it is exactly what
- 12:11Speaker 2: it is. She has hit the nail on the head.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Now, Kate then proceeded to show her followers a range
- 12:16Speaker 1: of cardigans that other small brands sold and question why
- 12:19Speaker 1: you'd want to look like the same person walking down
- 12:22Speaker 1: the street.
- 12:23Speaker 2: She then finished by saying this.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Can I stop saying the same fashion influences wearing the
- 12:31Speaker 3: same frigging things? It's not a uniform. Start showing me
- 12:36Speaker 3: what's good, not what everyone else is wearing.
- 12:40Speaker 1: In a now-deleted video, she also compared Henny wearers to bogans.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Now, that frustrated and upset a lot of people. Shots
- 12:50Speaker 2: fired there. Again, I had the feeling it was satirical.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I think she really hit the nail on the head
- 12:57Speaker 1: about this concept of people wearing a uniform. Ever since TikTok,
- 13:01Speaker 1: there's been this real desire to replicate trends and follow
- 13:05Speaker 1: whatever the cool girl is currently wearing on there. It's
- 13:08Speaker 1: not a platform that encourages people to be different and
- 13:11Speaker 1: stand out because you get rewarded if you copy other
- 13:13Speaker 1: people's fashion trends. It's all about making sure also that
- 13:17Speaker 1: you fit this cool girl aesthetic that's being dictated to us.
- 13:20Speaker 1: And I think that with the cost of living crisis,
- 13:23Speaker 1: We're also being told to look at capsule wardrobes and
- 13:26Speaker 1: buy items that we can mix and match with others.
- 13:29Speaker 2: And people are moving away from statement items.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I'm always hearing stylists talk on TikTok about this is
- 13:35Speaker 1: how you can create a uniform for work or a uniform.
- 13:38Speaker 2: For the weekend.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but no one has their own style, as you said, anymore.
- 13:41Speaker 1: No one wants to stand out from the crowd. There's
- 13:43Speaker 1: been so many times I've gone to a cafe and
- 13:46Speaker 1: it's the white fox hoodies. Like as Kate said, Everyone
- 13:50Speaker 1: wears them. I think how embarrassing would that be if
- 13:52Speaker 1: you rocked up? I think it's all teenagers. Well, yeah,
- 13:54Speaker 1: all teenagers. It's kind of like when we were at
- 13:56Speaker 1: high school and you'd have casual date. But back when
- 13:59Speaker 1: we were in high school, it was the billabong jackets
- 14:02Speaker 1: and you'd be so embarrassed because you'd rock up and
- 14:04Speaker 1: two other people would be wearing the same thing.
- 14:06Speaker 2: It would be awful. As an adult, it's really awkward
- 14:09Speaker 2: wearing the same thing as someone as well.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I went to a wedding recently where I wore this
- 14:14Speaker 1: bright blue dress. It was my sister-in-law's wedding. And one
- 14:17Speaker 1: of her friends wore the exact same dress. But we
- 14:20Speaker 1: just had to own it. We ended up getting photos together.
- 14:23Speaker 1: And it was something we could bond over. But I
- 14:25Speaker 1: do see the irony of going out to brunch. For
- 14:28Speaker 1: some reason, I always envision in Melbourne, and there's just
- 14:30Speaker 1: a swarm of 30-something women in this fluffy jumper.
- 14:33Speaker 2: All the little kiwis walking around.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, little kiwi fruits.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Thank God there are different colors, though. That might at
- 14:40Speaker 2: least make you stand out a little bit.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Now, Kate's video went absolutely viral with a large portion
- 14:46Speaker 1: of women actually agreeing wholeheartedly with what she said, but
- 14:50Speaker 1: it was also met with a lot of criticism. So
- 14:53Speaker 1: one user told Kate that she is giving pick-me vibes
- 14:56Speaker 1: and finished by saying that the cardi slap.
- 14:58Speaker 2: So you can tell that it's a Gen Z-er there.
- 15:00Speaker 2: These girls sound so triggered. I know.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Another person said, have you actually tried it on? It's
- 15:05Speaker 1: popular for a reason. Now her video definitely seemed to
- 15:10Speaker 1: ruffle the feathers of fashion influencers who began sharing their
- 15:13Speaker 1: thoughts on her video. But the catch was that they
- 15:17Speaker 1: were doing what she described was a dog whistle. What
- 15:20Speaker 1: a dog whistle is, is that you don't actually name
- 15:23Speaker 1: the person that you're speaking about, but you act as
- 15:27Speaker 1: if it's just a general thought about some, like a
- 15:29Speaker 1: trend that's happening, even though it's clearly one person that
- 15:32Speaker 1: you're directing it at.
- 15:33Speaker 2: I hate this. This happens all the time.
- 15:36Speaker 1: We've had this where people will Literally, like they'll be
- 15:41Speaker 1: talking about something our podcast has spoken about, but they
- 15:43Speaker 1: won't reference the podcast. Because they know that people will
- 15:47Speaker 1: go over to it and agree.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Yeah. That is why.
- 15:50Speaker 1: And it provides no context to what they're saying either.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Because they're like, oh, you know, it doesn't really matter.
- 15:54Speaker 2: It was, you know, it was some gossip thing.
- 15:56Speaker 3: And then.
- 15:56Speaker 2: And it's like, no, just name it.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Own it.
- 15:59Speaker 2: If you're going to call something out, name it. The
- 16:02Speaker 2: funniest thing is I think.
- 16:03Speaker 1: That we were actually just dog whistling ourselves then, but
- 16:06Speaker 1: I think people will be able to read into it.
- 16:07Speaker 1: We name and shame all the time. We may go
- 16:10Speaker 1: into that in a subs episode because we're getting off track. Now,
- 16:13Speaker 1: a fashion influencer called Ari Yasmin, who has over 20,000
- 16:17Speaker 1: followers on TikTok, created a video not naming Kate, but
- 16:21Speaker 1: saying she doesn't like the current trend. of people critiquing
- 16:25Speaker 1: viral outfits in a passive aggressive way.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Here's what she said.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Quick one.
- 16:30Speaker 4: When did we start being mean to people about liking
- 16:34Speaker 4: and wearing popular items of clothing? There's a genre of
- 16:36Speaker 4: video I really like on here, which is kind of
- 16:38Speaker 4: talking about trends, maybe critiquing trends, maybe critiquing brands when
- 16:42Speaker 4: they're not doing good enough, like the witchery rebrand.
- 16:45Speaker 2: But then there's another trend that I don't think I
- 16:46Speaker 2: like so much.
- 16:47Speaker 4: And that's kind of critiquing individual creators or people who
- 16:50Speaker 4: for wearing what we don't think are interesting enough outfits
- 16:54Speaker 4: or wearing something that's really viral or really popular. Some
- 16:57Speaker 4: of the stuff I've seen recently kind of just seems
- 17:00Speaker 4: to be being passive aggressive to people who like wearing
- 17:04Speaker 4: things that are popular in Australia right now. But I
- 17:06Speaker 4: feel like, are we not just making women feel bad
- 17:10Speaker 4: about themselves for something that's like not problematic and not
- 17:14Speaker 4: hurting anyone?
- 17:16Speaker 1: She finished by asking everyone else's thoughts on the matter.
- 17:19Speaker 1: And so she's forming her opinion on it as she speaks. However,
- 17:24Speaker 1: Kate Forster actually accused her of removing any comments that
- 17:27Speaker 1: didn't agree with her opinion. So it's interesting to ask
- 17:31Speaker 1: for comments, but then not like it when someone shares
- 17:34Speaker 1: a different opinion. Now, there was a very mixed response,
- 17:37Speaker 1: as I said, in the comment section.
- 17:39Speaker 2: And one of the notable.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Responses was from Victoria Devine, who runs the She's On
- 17:44Speaker 1: The Money podcast. And She agreed with Ari's sentiment, writing,
- 17:48Speaker 1: it's not even being passive aggressive.
- 17:50Speaker 2: She's being a bully.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I can't believe in 2024 so many people are supportive
- 17:55Speaker 1: of her content. Now, a follower replied to Victoria saying,
- 17:58Speaker 1: I'm genuinely surprised to see you making this comment.
- 18:01Speaker 2: I followed you for a while now.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Which part is bullying? And I shared the same sentiment
- 18:07Speaker 1: as this commenter. Now, Victoria responded, if you don't see
- 18:10Speaker 1: the content I'm referring to as blatant bullying, Perhaps you
- 18:13Speaker 1: shouldn't follow me. She continued saying her body shaming and
- 18:16Speaker 1: name-calling should be glaringly obvious signs of bullying.
- 18:20Speaker 3: No.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I'm really surprised that Victoria would weigh into this and
- 18:23Speaker 1: have this opinion. I mean, she is a friend of
- 18:25Speaker 1: the podcast. We have heard her on the show before. Look,
- 18:28Speaker 1: maybe she owns a Henny cardigan and just saw red.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Like, I don't know.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I do think that the word bullying by the general public, though,
- 18:35Speaker 1: has been weaponised. In 2024, I think that people are
- 18:38Speaker 1: so quick to label people any sort of critical thinking
- 18:42Speaker 1: as bullying. And just because someone might critique something or
- 18:45Speaker 1: challenge your way of thinking, I don't think that we
- 18:48Speaker 1: can categorize that as bullying. I have never seen Kate
- 18:52Speaker 1: body shame anyone. I've consumed a lot of her content.
- 18:54Speaker 1: And if anything, she is the one who has been
- 18:57Speaker 1: copying a lot of derogatory remarks about her appearance. There've
- 19:01Speaker 1: been a lot of young women seeming to take issue
- 19:03Speaker 1: with the way that she looks, calling her fat, saying
- 19:06Speaker 1: she looks like Hagrid. And she's had a laugh about that.
- 19:08Speaker 1: But I can tell that it has actually affected her.
- 19:11Speaker 1: That was just so nasty.
- 19:12Speaker 2: The whole thing to me seems quite ageist.
- 19:14Speaker 1: It's like, how dare you, a woman who's in her 50s,
- 19:18Speaker 1: have an opinion on fashion? Yeah, that's ultimately what I
- 19:22Speaker 1: think it comes down to. You know, in this day
- 19:25Speaker 1: and age where everyone's so woke, maybe this content might
- 19:29Speaker 1: be surprising to some because it's quite refreshing to see
- 19:32Speaker 1: someone actually being satirical.
- 19:35Speaker 2: She drops the odd F-bomb. She pokes fun.
- 19:37Speaker 1: It's very lighthearted.
- 19:38Speaker 2: But Do any of these gents, Edison, have like– A
- 19:42Speaker 2: sense of humour?
- 19:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I mean, how can people not tell this is a joke?
- 19:47Speaker 1: And it's not even– as you said, it's not– she
- 19:48Speaker 1: hasn't body shamed anyone. it's simply a joke about fashion
- 19:52Speaker 1: but it's also the fact that she is actually very
- 19:55Speaker 1: passionate about fashion and she's just calling out the fact
- 19:58Speaker 1: that there's no individuality and she wants people to support
- 20:01Speaker 1: smaller brands because a lot of smaller fashion brands are
- 20:04Speaker 1: going under now Kate hit back to the critique saying this.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Say a lot of these fucking young women on here
- 20:12Speaker 3: who are afraid to actually say what they think. Do
- 20:16Speaker 3: you know what? That's the number one thing that will
- 20:18Speaker 3: get you through life is fucking sticking to your ideals
- 20:21Speaker 3: and your values and having a fucking inner moral compass, right?
- 20:25Speaker 3: I don't give a shit what fucking cardigan you wear.
- 20:28Speaker 3: I actually really don't care. It's all a fucking meme,
- 20:33Speaker 3: this app. It's all a meme. Simply asking people to
- 20:37Speaker 3: look at other brands because the Australian industry, fashion industry,
- 20:40Speaker 3: is in the fucking toilet. So if you're all wearing Henny,
- 20:43Speaker 3: what about the other knitwear providers?
- 20:46Speaker 1: Kate also raised a really interesting point about kickbacks which
- 20:49Speaker 1: influencers receive for pushing certain brands. So a common theme
- 20:53Speaker 1: through the viral Henny cardigan videos is influencers offering up
- 20:58Speaker 1: their LTK links.
- 20:59Speaker 2: To shop the look.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and if you haven't seen LTK before, it is
- 21:03Speaker 1: basically an app where you can shop your favorite influencers content.
- 21:07Speaker 1: So they don't just put clothes up there. You can
- 21:10Speaker 1: also shop their furniture and their house or their paintings
- 21:14Speaker 1: or their homeware. It's very clever marketing. It's basically an
- 21:17Speaker 1: affiliate link.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Everything is for sale. That's right.
- 21:20Speaker 1: So what happens with the Henny cardigan is an influencer
- 21:23Speaker 1: will share their LTK link and it will then direct
- 21:26Speaker 1: you to the Henny website. But what a lot of
- 21:29Speaker 1: people don't know is that the influencer actually receives a
- 21:32Speaker 1: commission for each purchase you make. It can be very
- 21:36Speaker 1: lucrative for fashion influencers because they can make anywhere between 10%
- 21:39Speaker 1: to 30% off that affiliate link. So when it comes
- 21:43Speaker 1: to an item like the Henny cardigan, which is $ 229,
- 21:45Speaker 1: they are making $ 22. 90 of every cardigan you purchase from
- 21:48Speaker 1: their link. So clearly they have an incentive there. to
- 21:55Speaker 1: be pushing that cardigan, to be creating content around that cardigan.
- 21:59Speaker 1: And Henny are also very clever to be on LTK
- 22:02Speaker 1: because they get access to over 200,000 influencers who were
- 22:06Speaker 1: signed up to it.
- 22:07Speaker 2: And when you search Henny on LTK.
- 22:10Speaker 1: You can see just how many people are collaborating with them,
- 22:13Speaker 1: just how many people are building hype over this cardigan. Now,
- 22:15Speaker 1: this discovery led Kate to question, are the kickbacks the
- 22:19Speaker 1: reason so many influencers are pushing this cardigan? Here's what
- 22:23Speaker 1: she had to say.
- 22:24Speaker 3: So is the Henny cardigan viral because it's a great cardigan?
- 22:28Speaker 3: Because I've heard mixed reviews and I don't give a shit.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I'm never going to wear it. Is it viral because
- 22:37Speaker 3: everyone loves it? Or is it viral because all the
- 22:39Speaker 3: influencers are getting a percentage of when they sell it?
- 22:42Speaker 3: So you have to be transparent as an influencer.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Kate also questioned the transparency, saying if influencers have to
- 22:50Speaker 1: declare paid partnerships, Why don't they have to say they're
- 22:53Speaker 1: getting a cut each time they push a cardigan.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Which is such a good point.
- 22:58Speaker 1: It is such a valid point because if I'm shopping
- 23:01Speaker 1: an influencer's look, I want to know what they're making
- 23:03Speaker 1: from it because are they telling me that this pair
- 23:06Speaker 1: of jeans is great because they genuinely like it or
- 23:09Speaker 1: is it because they're making a huge commission off it?
- 23:12Speaker 1: Now things really escalated when Kate started receiving prank calls
- 23:16Speaker 1: to her house. So she posted a TikTok at 1am
- 23:20Speaker 1: on a Saturday night saying she hadn't slept because of
- 23:23Speaker 1: repeated calls from people abusing her for calling out influencers
- 23:27Speaker 1: over a cardigan. Here's what she said.
- 23:30Speaker 3: I have received repeated phone calls to my house, to
- 23:36Speaker 3: my mobile phone, which I don't know where they got
- 23:39Speaker 3: my fucking number. I probably didn't hide it very well.
- 23:42Speaker 3: They have called me many times and made fun of
- 23:48Speaker 3: me over the phone about this. So if you think
- 23:52Speaker 3: you're standing for Henny, you're actually putting a massive skid
- 23:56Speaker 3: mark on it. Because now I and my, I don't know,
- 24:02Speaker 3: nearly 16,000 followers probably are going to look at this
- 24:06Speaker 3: brand and go on, say, well, you kind of are
- 24:10Speaker 3: pretending to be something that you're not. More power than
- 24:14Speaker 3: you think by threatening me over the phone. by invading
- 24:20Speaker 3: my personal space because I asked an influencer who always
- 24:26Speaker 3: talks about fashion to try other brands and then asked
- 24:30Speaker 3: general Australian influencers to try other brands because Australian fashion
- 24:35Speaker 3: is in a crisis, you have actually done this brand
- 24:39Speaker 3: a disservice because you have made the brand look like
- 24:43Speaker 3: Mean Girls. I don't know if they are or aren't.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Kate finished by saying she was worried for her safety.
- 24:50Speaker 1: This is shocking that things have escalated this much over
- 24:54Speaker 1: a cardigan.
- 24:56Speaker 2: It would be really terrifying for her as well.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I mean, she's got teenage kids. She's, you know, hopped
- 25:03Speaker 1: on TikTok really for the first time. I mean, she's
- 25:06Speaker 1: no stranger to the industry. She's had radio shows before.
- 25:09Speaker 1: She's a very successful author. But it would be a
- 25:13Speaker 1: very strange feeling to be targeted in this way over
- 25:17Speaker 1: something that you see as lighthearted fun. TikTokers are just
- 25:20Speaker 1: next level, aren't they? Yeah, I mean, I think the
- 25:22Speaker 1: trolling and the commentary is disgusting. It's an absolute cesspool
- 25:27Speaker 1: of people. Now, I want to point out what an
- 25:29Speaker 1: absolute class act Nadia Bartel is, because following this revelation,
- 25:34Speaker 1: she DMed Kate to apologize. She wrote, Hi, Kate, I
- 25:38Speaker 1: am reaching out to you because of a few of
- 25:40Speaker 1: your TikToks I've seen. I'm so sorry you have been
- 25:42Speaker 1: receiving threatening calls to your home. Neither Henny nor I
- 25:46Speaker 1: support bullying of any form. So Kate shared this DM
- 25:49Speaker 1: to her TikTok saying she told Nadia the tea and
- 25:52Speaker 1: they both agreed some people in privileged positions should know better.
- 25:57Speaker 2: What an absolute burn.
- 25:58Speaker 1: She is sharing this to her TikTok to say that
- 26:00Speaker 1: your queen, Nadia Bartel, is siding with me.
- 26:04Speaker 2: It's just a big fuck you basically to all the trolls.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Pretty much.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I just think that this is a really fantastic PR
- 26:09Speaker 1: move by Nadia. She could have blocked Kay or got
- 26:12Speaker 1: angry that she was commenting about her brand, but she
- 26:15Speaker 1: rose above it and befriended her. And I think we've
- 26:18Speaker 1: seen so many influencers in the past take any sort
- 26:21Speaker 1: of criticism or feedback badly. They blow up and they
- 26:24Speaker 1: don't even take the chance to actually look at what
- 26:27Speaker 1: people have said about them. Yeah, here's some free PR
- 26:30Speaker 1: advice for influencers.
- 26:31Speaker 2: If you get called out, don't go on the attack.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Go in there with kindness.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Well, because if anything, Kate has actually pumped up this
- 26:37Speaker 1: cardigan even more. She has shown how devoted these Henny
- 26:42Speaker 1: fans are. I kind of want it now. Exactly.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I went and looked at Henny. I was like, ooh.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I don't think the Kiwi cardigan is for me, but
- 26:50Speaker 2: she's got some. The Kiwi.
- 26:51Speaker 1: The Celine cardigan. Celine.
- 26:53Speaker 2: She's got some really amazing bomber jackets and jeans.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Nadia just looks cool in anything. Oh.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I stand that woman so hard. She could bring out
- 27:01Speaker 2: like a.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Penny plastic bag for frigging 200 bucks and people would
- 27:04Speaker 1: buy it.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Well, maybe not plastic, maybe paper.
- 27:07Speaker 3: You guys are going to be her best friends.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Perth influencer Em Davies has announced the birth of her
- 27:16Speaker 1: first child and surprisingly she This is an influencer baby
- 27:20Speaker 1: name I think that Outspoken can get behind. Yeah, I
- 27:23Speaker 1: really like it. So Em and her partner, Joel Gambon,
- 27:26Speaker 1: have named their daughter Isla Sue Gambon. And perhaps this
- 27:31Speaker 1: is a sign of the times that we're going to
- 27:32Speaker 1: see more influencers going for traditional names. Well, Isla was
- 27:36Speaker 1: actually crowned as the most popular girl's name.
- 27:39Speaker 2: In Queensland in 2023.
- 27:40Speaker 1: And As you said, Amy, it is quite unusual to
- 27:43Speaker 1: see influencers go for a name that's very mainstream. Yeah, well,
- 27:47Speaker 1: Em previously told her followers not to expect a weird
- 27:50Speaker 1: baby name from her because she said she much prefers
- 27:53Speaker 1: the traditional names. And she even gave her followers an
- 27:56Speaker 1: insight into the style of baby names she liked before
- 27:59Speaker 1: giving birth. So for the girls, it included Delilah, Maeve, Sadie, Stevie,
- 28:05Speaker 1: Rommie and Allura.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I'd say there are a few unusual names in there. Well,
- 28:08Speaker 2: I think that they're pretty normal by today's standards.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:11Speaker 2: It's not like kombucha or something.
- 28:13Speaker 1: My algorithm is constantly feeding me kids' names and these
- 28:16Speaker 1: ones are very popular at the moment. And for boys' names,
- 28:19Speaker 1: she also liked Blue, Carter and Kai. And it was
- 28:23Speaker 1: really beautiful because Em selected her baby's middle name as
- 28:27Speaker 1: Sue and that's named after her mum who sadly passed away.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Some followers were quite intrigued because Em had said that
- 28:34Speaker 1: no matter what, she wanted to call the baby's middle
- 28:36Speaker 1: name Sue. So people were thinking, well, if you were
- 28:39Speaker 1: going to call your boy Blue, would it have been
- 28:41Speaker 1: Blue Sue?
- 28:42Speaker 2: Sounds like Blue's Clues.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Look, surely she wouldn't have given the name Sue for
- 28:47Speaker 1: a boy's middle name. Yeah, I don't know. Now, her
- 28:49Speaker 1: mum did sadly pass away a couple of years ago
- 28:52Speaker 1: and Em has spoken in great depth about feeling very
- 28:55Speaker 1: connected to her mum during her pregnancy, particularly being pregnant
- 28:59Speaker 1: with a baby girl. And she shared a really sweet
- 29:02Speaker 1: photo showing a little red birthmark near her daughter's eye
- 29:05Speaker 1: and wrote angel kisses from nanny in the sky, which
- 29:08Speaker 1: was really sweet. Well, Em broke the news on Instagram,
- 29:12Speaker 1: sharing a carousel of photos of her newborn with the
- 29:15Speaker 1: caption 1308 24 607 PM. Isla Sue Gambon. I've never
- 29:20Speaker 1: felt a love like this.
- 29:22Speaker 2: We did it.
- 29:22Speaker 1: And she tagged her partner, Joel Gambon. The post received
- 29:26Speaker 1: over 88,000 likes and the blue tick brigade were out
- 29:30Speaker 1: in force in the comments section. So Sammy Robinson wrote, congratulations,
- 29:34Speaker 1: beautiful family. Tammy hembro added crying she's so perfect love
- 29:38Speaker 1: you guys while sky wheatley commented looks like an actual
- 29:41Speaker 1: doll i'm crying she is a very beautiful baby yeah
- 29:45Speaker 1: she's a gorgeous little girl and chloe zepp gracie piscopo
- 29:49Speaker 1: indy clinton sofa dofa jade tunci talia skeins and lucy
- 29:53Speaker 1: jackson were also amongst the well-known Aussie influencers commenting. I'm
- 29:57Speaker 1: assuming Lily Brown did as well, but she's blocked us,
- 30:00Speaker 1: so I couldn't see her comment. Well, I also noticed
- 30:03Speaker 1: that Nikki and Lucy took time away from their amazing
- 30:07Speaker 1: trip in Mykonos where they are celebrating Nikki's hands to
- 30:10Speaker 1: FaceTime with Em. I wonder if they'll be competing with
- 30:13Speaker 1: Lily Brown to be sort of like the best R2. Well,
- 30:16Speaker 1: a lot of the time when someone has a baby
- 30:18Speaker 1: and there's baby showers and then birthday parties following it,
- 30:22Speaker 1: you realize it's such a special time in someone's life
- 30:25Speaker 1: that you sort of drop all of that shit. So
- 30:27Speaker 1: maybe this will be an opportunity for the gang to
- 30:29Speaker 1: get back together. Now, Emma has been really active on
- 30:33Speaker 1: TikTok and she's even added Isla's mama to her name.
- 30:37Speaker 1: And her birth video has racked up 1 million views
- 30:40Speaker 1: on Instagram already. So this video shows all the highlights
- 30:44Speaker 1: of the birthing experience. So we see Em and Joel
- 30:47Speaker 1: walking into the hospital, as well as Em in the
- 30:50Speaker 1: hospital bed strapped up to all of the monitoring systems.
- 30:53Speaker 1: And Em opted for a vaginal birth. And you can
- 30:55Speaker 1: see a photo of Em's mom propped up by her
- 30:58Speaker 1: bed as she gives birth, which was just such a
- 31:00Speaker 1: sweet touch. The video also shows snippets of Em crying
- 31:05Speaker 1: as Joel comforts her and shots of the delivery. Now,
- 31:08Speaker 1: a lot of people were commenting that Who actually filmed
- 31:11Speaker 1: this content? I think maybe people were thinking, was it
- 31:14Speaker 1: the nurses?
- 31:14Speaker 2: Like the midwives in the hospital?
- 31:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but it was actually two of Em's friends who
- 31:19Speaker 1: were support people. Like they're allowed in the birthing suite
- 31:22Speaker 1: and they did such a good job.
- 31:24Speaker 2: It has only been.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Five days since Em gave birth, but she is delivering
- 31:28Speaker 1: on the newborn content. So she shared the hot dad
- 31:31Speaker 1: style TikTok video of Joel carrying baby Isla out of
- 31:35Speaker 1: the hospital in a capsule. That is a very viral
- 31:38Speaker 1: video that I'm seeing a lot of creators making. She
- 31:40Speaker 1: also shared a hilarious video of her holding her baby
- 31:44Speaker 1: in the hospital bed, surrounded by sushi with the caption,
- 31:48Speaker 1: it's good being zero weeks pregnant.
- 31:50Speaker 2: She has been missing that a lot.
- 31:52Speaker 4: We're running errands today.
- 31:58Speaker 1: A shopfitting company run by Sky Wheatley's partner, Lockie Waugh,
- 32:02Speaker 1: has gone into external administration after reportedly being unable to
- 32:06Speaker 1: pay its debts.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Now, Amy, this came as.
- 32:08Speaker 1: A bit of a surprise because Lockie's business, which is
- 32:11Speaker 1: called ShopFitCo, has recently been running a large social media
- 32:15Speaker 1: ads campaign talking about how they're expanding their operations. Yeah,
- 32:19Speaker 1: this kept popping up on my Instagram feed for some reason.
- 32:23Speaker 1: And ShopFit Co is a very well-known business on the
- 32:26Speaker 1: Gold Coast. It has completed fit-outs for a number of
- 32:29Speaker 1: high-profile shops, including Quicksilver, Muffin Break, and also Sass and Bide.
- 32:34Speaker 2: There has been.
- 32:35Speaker 1: No official word yet from Lockie or Sky about the
- 32:38Speaker 1: company going into external administration. And even on Thursday, the
- 32:42Speaker 1: company was still uploading posts on its social media account. Yeah,
- 32:45Speaker 1: and ShopFit Co is regularly featured in Sky's YouTube videos,
- 32:49Speaker 1: so they are renovating their Gold Coast mansion.
- 32:51Speaker 2: They've been renovating it for what feels like forever. It's
- 32:54Speaker 2: been five years.
- 32:55Speaker 1: And in recent videos, we've seen Lockie's staff popping up
- 32:58Speaker 1: in their ShopFitCo shirts, carrying out the renovations. I wonder
- 33:02Speaker 1: if it's because there's not much work for them to
- 33:04Speaker 1: be doing on other projects. So they're like, better get
- 33:07Speaker 1: my money's worth, get them working on my own house. Well,
- 33:09Speaker 1: the image that they've been portraying is this is a
- 33:12Speaker 1: very successful business. Yeah, they definitely give off this impression
- 33:15Speaker 1: that they're very successful. That being said, there have been
- 33:19Speaker 1: some whispers about financial issues within the business because there
- 33:22Speaker 1: were reports that Lockie's company had been locked in a
- 33:25Speaker 1: very bitter court battle with a Sydney man since 2023.
- 33:29Speaker 1: And ShopFitCo says that the man still owes them close
- 33:32Speaker 1: to $ 60, 000 for a fit out that they did for
- 33:35Speaker 1: a Portuguese burger bar. Now things got murkier because the
- 33:38Speaker 1: business owner is now counter-suing ShopFit, alleging that the work
- 33:43Speaker 1: was not up to scratch and they're wanting damages for
- 33:45Speaker 1: a breach of contract and also loss of opportunity.
- 33:49Speaker 2: So it sounds like a very stressful time.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:51Speaker 1: And I think there's also a bit of confusion over
- 33:53Speaker 1: this term external administration and what it actually means. So
- 33:57Speaker 1: for those who are unaware, it basically means that someone
- 34:00Speaker 1: from outside of Lockie's business known as an external administrator
- 34:04Speaker 1: has been appointed to either try and save this business,
- 34:08Speaker 1: to sell it or to wind it down to try
- 34:10Speaker 1: and repay its debts. And according to the Gold Coast Bulletin,
- 34:14Speaker 1: ShopFit Co is being administered under the Small Business Restructuring Program.
- 34:19Speaker 1: So this program gives companies with debts of less than
- 34:22Speaker 1: $ 1 million a last-ditch attempt to avoid liquidation. And interestingly,
- 34:27Speaker 1: documents show that the majority of the money that ShopFit
- 34:30Speaker 1: Co actually owes is to the ATO. And there have
- 34:34Speaker 1: been a lot of reports that the ATO is undergoing
- 34:37Speaker 1: a massive crackdown. So we're seeing a lot of businesses,
- 34:40Speaker 1: especially construction businesses, currently being chased by the ATO for
- 34:44Speaker 1: unpaid taxes. And this is because there was a pandemic-induced
- 34:48Speaker 1: hiatus on the ATO enforcing these tax payments. Now, this
- 34:53Speaker 1: story has been making a lot of headlines, particularly on
- 34:56Speaker 1: the Gold Coast. And it's good to see that Sky
- 34:58Speaker 1: Wheatley has been very sensitive in handling this situation with
- 35:01Speaker 1: her partner because she has been poking a lot of
- 35:03Speaker 1: fun at him about it. So over the weekend, she
- 35:06Speaker 1: shared an Instagram story of Lockie washing her car and
- 35:09Speaker 1: she wrote, Never seen him do this. I'm giving him
- 35:12Speaker 1: pocket money since he's broke now with three crying faces. Well,
- 35:16Speaker 1: surely things aren't that dire if she's paying him out
- 35:19Speaker 1: about it.
- 35:20Speaker 2: I just think it's her sense of humor.
- 35:22Speaker 1: A lot of fans have noticed that Lockie has had
- 35:25Speaker 1: much more of a presence on her social media account
- 35:28Speaker 1: because previously he would protest to being in a TikTok
- 35:31Speaker 1: videos and he begrudgingly appear. But now he seems sort
- 35:35Speaker 1: of down to be in it. And I wonder if
- 35:36Speaker 1: it's because now that his business isn't doing so well.
- 35:40Speaker 1: He thinks, fuck, maybe I've got to have a social
- 35:42Speaker 1: media presence online.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Maybe this is a secondary income for me.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I think maybe it's made him appreciate Sky more. And
- 35:48Speaker 1: he's thought, well, fuck, is Sky's actually going to be
- 35:51Speaker 1: bringing in most of the income into this family? Maybe
- 35:53Speaker 1: I need to support her.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Well, that's all we've got.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Time for today. Thank you so much for listening to
- 35:58Speaker 1: another episode. Please don't forget to follow us on Instagram
- 36:01Speaker 1: and TikTok. We're at Outspoken underscore the underscore podcast. Also,
- 36:05Speaker 1: you can follow Kate, Sophie and I on Instagram. We'll
- 36:07Speaker 1: be sharing some fun behind-the-scenes videos soon. A bit of
- 36:10Speaker 1: a fun fact, this is the second time we have
- 36:12Speaker 1: recorded this episode and that is why it is a
- 36:14Speaker 1: day late because we had a major technical difficulty.
- 36:17Speaker 2: We have new recording equipment, but we have very.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Old microphones and old microphone cords and one of them
- 36:24Speaker 1: is faulty. So you went to sit down on Monday
- 36:27Speaker 1: night and edit, Amy, and my whole microphone was crackling.
- 36:31Speaker 1: I tried to edit it around it, but it was
- 36:33Speaker 1: just absolutely.
- 36:35Speaker 2: My husband was so mad at me.
- 36:37Speaker 1: I was literally sitting on the toilet when you called
- 36:39Speaker 1: and I just was like, no.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Every time you get some kind of news, you're sitting
- 36:44Speaker 2: on the toilet.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Last week it was the Molly and Tommy news. Now
- 36:47Speaker 1: it's the podcast.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Well, it's when you're on your phone, you've got time
- 36:50Speaker 2: to scroll.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Anyway, leaving everyone with that beautiful image. But this episode
- 36:54Speaker 1: was recorded.
- 36:54Speaker 2: On the traditional land of the Kaurna people of the
- 36:56Speaker 2: Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to elders past and present.
