A majestic 80-foot grand fir from Idaho’s Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests has been crowned the 2026 Capitol Christmas tree, selected for its perfect shape and full boughs after a week-long wilderness search. The tree, coming from the Salmon River Ranger District, will be harvested in October with its location kept secret until then.
