- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey everyone, welcome to the Almost Vue podcast. Today we're
- 0:09Speaker 2: talking headlines and we're also answering some of your bachelor questions. Ben,
- 0:16Speaker 2: we have only baby headlines. There's so many baby headlines
- 0:21Speaker 2: all the time in bacheloration. Actually, speaking of how is
- 0:23Speaker 2: Jess doing. She was midway through, She's midway through.
- 0:28Speaker 3: She is midway, she has four months left.
- 0:30Speaker 4: We just had our twenty week ultrasound, that's the anatomy
- 0:34Speaker 4: scan to kind of check up over everything. As of today,
- 0:38Speaker 4: the baby is the size of a large banana.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Pretty good, it's pretty big. How did you feel during
- 0:45Speaker 2: the ultra side? Did you get emotional? To be quite honest,
- 0:49Speaker 2: I never really did.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Jes does she gets really emotional. I don't, mostly because
- 0:56Speaker 4: at one point I was like, oh, she's so cute,
- 0:59Speaker 4: and she's like that's her stomach, and I'm like, oh,
- 1:02Speaker 4: well then I'm out of this.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Like I have no clue what.
- 1:04Speaker 4: I'm looking at. I have no idea what I'm looking at.
- 1:06Speaker 4: This is just a bunch of different things happening at once.
- 1:11Speaker 4: You know, I am full speed ahead right now on
- 1:15Speaker 4: I've done the nursery. So I've put up painted the nursery,
- 1:18Speaker 4: put up some wainscoat in the nursery. I'm redoing our bathroom.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Like right after this, I'm going to start working on
- 1:23Speaker 4: the bathroom.
- 1:24Speaker 5: You're nesting, yeah, early, so I.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Don't have to be rush at the end. I don't
- 1:28Speaker 4: want to be rush at the end. And so I
- 1:30Speaker 4: get emotional at times when I'm doing that because I'm like, yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 4: my baby girl is going to sleep in this. Yeah,
- 1:35Speaker 4: one day. But for the most part, I'm not. I
- 1:38Speaker 4: haven't gotten very emotional at all yet. Just us, for sure,
- 1:41Speaker 4: she gets. She gets really every day. There's videos and
- 1:44Speaker 4: pictures and I don't know, it's crazy, it's so awesome.
- 1:48Speaker 4: It's such a fun season of life for us and
- 1:50Speaker 4: ess is. I don't know if this is like the
- 1:52Speaker 4: proper way to say it, but this is how she
- 1:54Speaker 4: She said her her bellies pop. They're like, sure, you
- 1:57Speaker 4: can definitely see that she's pregnant.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Now that's that's the the image.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it's the.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Verbiage, the verbage.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Okay, good. I don't ever know what's right and wrong
- 2:05Speaker 3: and what I can and can't say.
- 2:06Speaker 4: But you can say she's popped. Yeah, good, Yeah. So anyways,
- 2:11Speaker 4: really exciting times. We do have some baby headlines to
- 2:13Speaker 4: get to today, Bachelor Nation. It just feels like a
- 2:17Speaker 4: time for babies, doesn't.
- 2:18Speaker 5: It, Ashley, Yeah, it sure does.
- 2:21Speaker 4: First headline is this Bachelor Nations kindle long we just
- 2:25Speaker 4: had on the podcast actually is expecting her first baby.
- 2:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:30Speaker 2: So she was in her first trimester and we had
- 2:32Speaker 2: her on maybe towards the end, and she did not
- 2:35Speaker 2: reveal anything nor show any signs that she was pregnant.
- 2:40Speaker 2: But they are due and she is due February twenty
- 2:44Speaker 2: twenty five. And I think this will probably align with
- 2:48Speaker 2: them coming back to the States because right now they're
- 2:51Speaker 2: living in Germany. And of course all of Bachelor Nation
- 2:54Speaker 2: came out in the comments section of her instagram. We
- 2:57Speaker 2: have comments from Sarah Herron and so everybody is really
- 3:02Speaker 2: happy for her.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Of course it's a big deal. Probably why she was
- 3:06Speaker 4: teasing that she didn't know how long they would be overseas,
- 3:08Speaker 4: this was probably already in the works. It's a weird
- 3:11Speaker 4: time when you know this big thing about your life
- 3:15Speaker 4: and you're not telling anybody because like you do an
- 3:17Speaker 4: interview and you don't know how to answer it because
- 3:20Speaker 4: you're so used to probably talking about your partner being like,
- 3:22Speaker 4: we're going to move back home right because you.
- 3:25Speaker 5: Know exactly exactly.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Sarah hare and share sweet newborn photos of her twin girls.
- 3:32Speaker 4: The quote is they were so small.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I know.
- 3:36Speaker 5: I feel for her every day.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I'm so interested in her inse stories because we're basically
- 3:41Speaker 2: at the same part of parenting right now.
- 3:44Speaker 5: We both have kids. Are her girls.
- 3:47Speaker 2: And Hayden, I think are like two weeks apart, so,
- 3:52Speaker 2: which is like we're going through a lot of the
- 3:53Speaker 2: same stuff. But she's doing it with two, and I
- 3:56Speaker 2: don't know how she's doing it, but I love to
- 3:59Speaker 2: see how she's adjusting.
- 4:00Speaker 5: She seems to be doing so well.
- 4:02Speaker 2: And yeah, they were born at thirty two weeks and
- 4:06Speaker 2: they were in the NICU for a month, and so
- 4:08Speaker 2: now she's just she showed pictures of what they were
- 4:11Speaker 2: like then and how they are right now. They they
- 4:14Speaker 2: are thriving. We're very happy for her.
- 4:17Speaker 3: How old is Hayden now?
- 4:19Speaker 5: Ten weeks?
- 4:21Speaker 3: Ten weeks?
- 4:22Speaker 2: Goodness, time is so flying. I'm like, oh, ten weeks
- 4:26Speaker 2: he's still like, oh a little lady bitty. I'm like, no,
- 4:28Speaker 2: he's two and a half months before you know, he's
- 4:30Speaker 2: gonna be three months and then before you know it,
- 4:31Speaker 2: he's gonna be a year.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Wild final headline before we get into some question and answers,
- 4:38Speaker 4: Colton Underwood announces birth of his son. Our world is
- 4:41Speaker 4: a million times better with you in it, he says, Yep.
- 4:45Speaker 2: The baby's name is Bishop Colton Brown Underwoods. They hyphenated
- 4:50Speaker 2: Brown Underwood.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Does he have.
- 4:51Speaker 4: To fill that name out on everything?
- 4:54Speaker 2: Bishop, Well, his name is Bishop Colton Brown Underwood.
- 4:57Speaker 5: But I wonder.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Why they went with cult. That's interesting that it would
- 5:02Speaker 2: be Colton. I wonder if Bishop is from his husband's side,
- 5:06Speaker 2: you know.
- 5:07Speaker 1: So.
- 5:09Speaker 2: They of course welcomed the baby via surrogate. Colton was
- 5:13Speaker 2: very open about how they went through this surrogate journey
- 5:19Speaker 2: and even before it was the baby was in the surrogate,
- 5:24Speaker 2: the fertility journey they went through because he had to
- 5:27Speaker 2: undergo sperm rehab to get his sperm count up in
- 5:31Speaker 2: order for them to conceive this baby. But yeah, we
- 5:37Speaker 2: are so happy for them as well. I can't wait
- 5:42Speaker 2: to see more fatherhood from them. We have some questions,
- 5:57Speaker 2: one of which is have you gotten any baby advice
- 6:00Speaker 2: from other bachelor parents?
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:03Speaker 3: I mean you've given me good advice. I think.
- 6:08Speaker 4: When we were at Elon's wedding. Obviously I was sitting
- 6:11Speaker 4: next to Nick and Natalie. You were there, Raven and
- 6:14Speaker 4: Adam were there, were I mean the conversation.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Is the parents table.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it's very much about kids. So I'm picking
- 6:20Speaker 4: up on it. You know, I don't think anybody has
- 6:22Speaker 4: directly said this is what you need to do and
- 6:24Speaker 4: not do. I do think there's been good advice on
- 6:26Speaker 4: stuff we should get for the house. I'm reading a
- 6:31Speaker 4: couple of books right now on Well, this is one
- 6:34Speaker 4: of them. It's called The Birth Partner.
- 6:38Speaker 5: What are you learning in the Birth Partner? I love
- 6:40Speaker 5: this chat. Let's do it what I.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Can do to be a good partner from like this
- 6:46Speaker 4: day forward, which the first chapter is about massages where
- 6:49Speaker 4: it feels good for me to massage and where it
- 6:51Speaker 4: doesn't a lot of foot massage techniques and then so
- 6:54Speaker 4: I think that might be why I just gave it
- 6:56Speaker 4: to me. Also, it leads into then like, hey, what
- 7:00Speaker 4: are the signs that we're getting close? What are some
- 7:03Speaker 4: ways like stretches and things that we can do together
- 7:06Speaker 4: as partners which will never do together? What are some
- 7:13Speaker 4: things that like we can do stretch wise or like
- 7:16Speaker 4: exercise wise that can get just ready for that day
- 7:21Speaker 4: or help you know her corese stay strong. Jessica works
- 7:23Speaker 4: out still every day. Now it's definitely a workout that
- 7:28Speaker 4: is modeled for somebody who is pregnant. So she's not
- 7:31Speaker 4: like out there like squatting and running, but she is
- 7:34Speaker 4: doing like a lot of pilates and a lot of
- 7:37Speaker 4: like lunges and that kind of stuff. So my, yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 4: she's doing it every day. She still wakes up at
- 7:43Speaker 4: you know, six am and cranks.
- 7:45Speaker 3: It out for an hour. It's wild. She's strong.
- 7:49Speaker 4: And so and then I lead up to different types
- 7:52Speaker 4: of births. What can I expect in the birthing room?
- 7:56Speaker 4: And that's where I'm kind of at them at chapter five.
- 7:58Speaker 4: There's I think ten chapters, so I'm halfway through learning
- 8:03Speaker 4: a lot, definitely preparing myself the best I can. But no,
- 8:09Speaker 4: nobody's like directly been like this is what you have
- 8:11Speaker 4: to do or not do. It's mostly me kind of
- 8:13Speaker 4: learning or hearing as I go, or watching and learning.
- 8:16Speaker 2: What's the product that people are recommending the most, not
- 8:19Speaker 2: just bachelor people, but overall goodness.
- 8:21Speaker 4: You would be the one to ask me that I'm
- 8:23Speaker 4: gonna explain it to you and you'll know exactly what
- 8:27Speaker 4: I'm talking about.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Okay, Okay.
- 8:29Speaker 4: It's a like really light packable stroller, so it's it's
- 8:33Speaker 4: like a transformer looking thing where the car sat and
- 8:35Speaker 4: the stroller are kind of attached.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Yes, multiple brands do that, but it is the.
- 8:45Speaker 2: I forget the I forget the name of the one
- 8:48Speaker 2: that's classic for that. Mine does that though, too, and
- 8:53Speaker 2: I have an Uppa baby. Both brands are great.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Yeah, so I don't know what brand it is.
- 8:58Speaker 4: This is not part of We do have a registry
- 9:00Speaker 4: out there right now, and so a lot of this
- 9:03Speaker 4: stuff just goes up on the registry and then it
- 9:05Speaker 4: shows up to the house and then I either find
- 9:06Speaker 4: space for it right now or put it together. The
- 9:10Speaker 4: other big one is kind of like the pack and play.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Like we have. I think we have a pack and
- 9:17Speaker 3: play somewhere in this house.
- 9:19Speaker 5: I don't really know, actually, Okay.
- 9:22Speaker 2: My advice is the snow for sure for the first
- 9:26Speaker 2: five months. The unfortunate thing is that they do grow
- 9:29Speaker 2: out of that around vir or six months and last night.
- 9:35Speaker 2: It may not be solely because of it, but it
- 9:38Speaker 2: definitely plays a role we got six straight hours.
- 9:42Speaker 3: That's a big deal.
- 9:43Speaker 5: It's a big, big deal. Yeah. So this new is
- 9:46Speaker 5: like a moving bascinette.
- 9:48Speaker 2: And then we moved with Dawson to the cradle wise,
- 9:52Speaker 2: which is it moves as well, but for more of
- 9:55Speaker 2: a toddler age.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:58Speaker 4: I feel like Justin and I have a very nice home.
- 10:00Speaker 4: I don't know how in the world we're going to
- 10:01Speaker 4: find space for all this stuff.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Okay, well, welcome to my life now. That is my
- 10:05Speaker 2: I know it's super crazy, but I'm it affects me.
- 10:10Speaker 2: It really affects me to see like so much clutter
- 10:13Speaker 2: all the time, so much kid stuff.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's it's not easy on me right now.
- 10:20Speaker 4: I told Jess, Okay, yeah, I have issues because I
- 10:23Speaker 4: walk through this house right now and I see a
- 10:25Speaker 4: stroller in one corner and boxes in another and clothes here,
- 10:30Speaker 4: and I'm like, hey, like we got it.
- 10:32Speaker 3: We got to figure this out quickly.
- 10:35Speaker 5: See.
- 10:35Speaker 2: I'm so glad you said that, because I feel like
- 10:39Speaker 2: I can't focus on work. I can't focus on lots
- 10:42Speaker 2: of things when my house is just feels taken over
- 10:46Speaker 2: and there's just no function to it. So I feel
- 10:48Speaker 2: like whenever I get a free moment. I'm always trying
- 10:51Speaker 2: to find more function in the house.
- 10:53Speaker 5: Yeah, how how to get more function in the house.
- 10:56Speaker 3: I'm in it. I'm in it right now, Ashley. Okay.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Final question that was asked to us, what exactly does
- 11:02Speaker 4: a happy couple weekend look like for the bachelor couples?
- 11:05Speaker 5: Well, that would be tu, it would be to me.
- 11:08Speaker 4: I'm assuming this was asked because it was such a
- 11:10Speaker 4: big topic during gen season. It was kind of brought
- 11:13Speaker 4: up during the live show as hey, during a happy couple.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Mm, they've never referred to it as like a happy
- 11:19Speaker 2: couple before. Maybe with Beca and Ari that was the
- 11:21Speaker 2: other time that it was brought up, because like that's
- 11:23Speaker 2: where their breakup happened.
- 11:25Speaker 4: I mean when I was on the show, the happy
- 11:28Speaker 4: couple was still supposed to be kept a secret that
- 11:30Speaker 4: it was even something that was done for the couples
- 11:32Speaker 4: coming off the show, Like it wasn't something you really
- 11:34Speaker 4: talked about publicly because they're usually in like very busy
- 11:38Speaker 4: areas of Los Angeles or Palm Springs, and so people
- 11:42Speaker 4: could find this house and you know, take some pictures
- 11:46Speaker 4: very easily. You're asked not to leave the happy couple house.
- 11:50Speaker 4: But come on, I don't think there's ever been a
- 11:52Speaker 4: couple that has been stuck in a house for a
- 11:53Speaker 4: weekend together and never left it.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Everybody leaves.
- 11:56Speaker 5: You guys left, Yeah, you.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Leave, you walk in the park or you walk.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Not You and Lauren went without any sort of camouflage.
- 12:06Speaker 3: I'm sure we put on camouflage.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Did you guys wear wigs?
- 12:10Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 12:10Speaker 4: I think we did have wigs back then, and like
- 12:13Speaker 4: a hat and sunglasses. Like if anybody's really gonna like
- 12:16Speaker 4: randomly be walking down the street and be like, hey,
- 12:19Speaker 4: there's been like that would be crazy.
- 12:21Speaker 3: And these are.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Happening usually before even the airing of the show starts,
- 12:26Speaker 4: and so nobody really knows who you are.
- 12:28Speaker 5: But it's the lead. You know who the lead is.
- 12:30Speaker 5: That's like you do you do too?
- 12:34Speaker 2: You would just sort of you were you were very risky, okay, yeah,
- 12:37Speaker 2: but you're not supposed to leave. And they provide you
- 12:40Speaker 2: with games, and then do they give you food and drinks?
- 12:45Speaker 4: Yeah, they load you up with food and drinks, so
- 12:47Speaker 4: you have a grocery list you can create. Load you
- 12:49Speaker 4: up with food and drinks. They usually put it in
- 12:51Speaker 4: a pretty nice house in a pretty nice area. There's
- 12:53Speaker 4: usually a backyard with a pool, uh so that you
- 12:56Speaker 4: can go and chill by the pool, those kind of things,
- 12:58Speaker 4: And that is your weekend, like a happy couple weekend.
- 13:03Speaker 4: Is that just that there's no entertainment?
- 13:07Speaker 3: You know?
- 13:07Speaker 4: Usually the lead is kind of getting picked up during
- 13:10Speaker 4: the day to go to do some interviews and kind
- 13:13Speaker 4: of go go around town. That's usually kind of was
- 13:16Speaker 4: the headquarters, I guess when you would do all the
- 13:18Speaker 4: talk shows when the season was airing, and then you
- 13:21Speaker 4: go back to the house at night. They're they're fun,
- 13:24Speaker 4: I guess they do also get kind of boring. I mean,
- 13:28Speaker 4: you're stuck in a house for three, three, four or
- 13:30Speaker 4: five days without the ability to leave, especially if you're
- 13:34Speaker 4: the one chosen, you really have no opportunity to leave,
- 13:36Speaker 4: and because nobody's asking you for interviews, and then the
- 13:40Speaker 4: producers will randomly show up and kind of be annoying
- 13:44Speaker 4: honestly for a.
- 13:44Speaker 5: Bit and wait, why why are they annoying?
- 13:47Speaker 4: I think they're doing like relationship checks, where are you
- 13:49Speaker 4: guys at how you do and just to see your
- 13:51Speaker 4: vibe kind of get a feel for the land. But
- 13:55Speaker 4: they're fun and I think they're important for a couple
- 13:57Speaker 4: coming off the show, because if not, you would go
- 13:59Speaker 4: five months without ever seeing that person in person.
- 14:02Speaker 3: In person, that sounds yeah.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I was just going to ask you, like, do you
- 14:05Speaker 2: think that they hurt or help? Because for some reason,
- 14:09Speaker 2: I feel like whenever anybody brings them up, they have
- 14:12Speaker 2: been with a negative connotation.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:16Speaker 4: I think they help. I do think they help. I
- 14:18Speaker 4: think they help quite a bit. I think they're important
- 14:19Speaker 4: because you're seeing that person again. I think they help
- 14:22Speaker 4: in both ways. One you figure out if you really
- 14:24Speaker 4: want to be with this person, and another way is
- 14:26Speaker 4: that you're like, no, we're not, We're not.
- 14:29Speaker 5: Meant for each This is the beginning of the end.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Yeah, and this is the beginning of the end. So
- 14:33Speaker 4: that's what a happy couple is. There's no thrills to it,
- 14:35Speaker 4: there's no secrets to it. It's an airbnb somewhere around
- 14:38Speaker 4: the California Los Angeles area, Southern California area, and you
- 14:42Speaker 4: just hang out for a few days.
- 14:44Speaker 5: That's it, all right?
- 14:45Speaker 2: Well, Ben, I'm going to rack my brain for other
- 14:47Speaker 2: questions about the franchise that I wouldn't know, but you
- 14:50Speaker 2: would know because you were a lead.
- 14:53Speaker 3: You can ask me anything. Ashley anytime.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Okay, fine, I have one on the top of my
- 14:56Speaker 2: head right now. This is my most common question, and
- 14:59Speaker 2: I have a ca and not maybe not the most
- 15:01Speaker 2: common question, but it's a very common question. Okay, I
- 15:05Speaker 2: have a can't answer, and that is always like I
- 15:08Speaker 2: wasn't the.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Lead, but yeah, I assume you know.
- 15:12Speaker 2: It's during the first few weeks. Do you give the
- 15:15Speaker 2: villain to the crazy person a rose because you're told to?
- 15:20Speaker 4: It's a good question, that is a That's probably is
- 15:22Speaker 4: the most common question, honestly. Okay, my season was a
- 15:28Speaker 4: little different because there wasn't a distinct villain. However, I
- 15:31Speaker 4: did have moments where I did want to send people
- 15:33Speaker 4: home and the show wasn't for it. And so this
- 15:38Speaker 4: is how I always explain it going down, because this
- 15:41Speaker 4: is how I remember it going down. I would go
- 15:44Speaker 4: come into a room, and let's just use Jojo as
- 15:46Speaker 4: an example, right because she's obviously a star from the show.
- 15:49Speaker 4: She wasn't going home anytime soon, but she'd be so
- 15:52Speaker 4: she's an easy person to use. But say it's like
- 15:54Speaker 4: week two and I'm like, hey, I'm gonna send Jojo
- 15:56Speaker 4: home the night. Somebody would a producer would be like okay,
- 16:00Speaker 4: and they would write it down and then like an
- 16:02Speaker 4: hourly they'd come back and be like, hey, are you
- 16:04Speaker 4: sure you want to send Jojo home tonight. I'd be like, yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 4: I think so. I don't really know. I don't know
- 16:10Speaker 4: any of these people that well, like I don't know
- 16:13Speaker 4: half their names. And they would say, Hey, I think
- 16:16Speaker 4: Jojo has a lot of things you would be interested in,
- 16:21Speaker 4: and I think the two of you will actually make
- 16:23Speaker 4: a connection, but it could be a slow burn, and
- 16:25Speaker 4: so I'd recommend you keeping her around a while. And
- 16:28Speaker 4: at that point you're so susceptible to the input of
- 16:32Speaker 4: the producers because you don't know much that you're like, yeah, okay, cool,
- 16:36Speaker 4: Like I'm good with that. And that was always kind
- 16:38Speaker 4: of my mentality as long as it didn't affect a
- 16:41Speaker 4: relationship that I was like really confident in or really
- 16:44Speaker 4: serious about. I'd be like, I trust you, Like, if
- 16:46Speaker 4: you think there's something there, if you think there's like
- 16:51Speaker 4: something in the future for us, or if you think
- 16:53Speaker 4: she's interesting and she just hasn't been able to show
- 16:55Speaker 4: her true colors yet, then let's do it. Let's keep
- 16:59Speaker 4: her around, let's find somebody else. And I think they
- 17:03Speaker 4: do that with the villain because you, honestly, as the lead,
- 17:05Speaker 4: don't know they're the villain, because the show protects you
- 17:08Speaker 4: so much from seeing it for so long that I
- 17:12Speaker 4: think as long as you're a lead that's a little bit.
- 17:16Speaker 4: As long as you're a lead that's able to I
- 17:19Speaker 4: want to say, play the game a little bit and
- 17:22Speaker 4: understand that, Hey, the show is being made and there's
- 17:25Speaker 4: stuff happening that you don't know about, and you can
- 17:27Speaker 4: just say, I trust you to make this, you know, decision.
- 17:30Speaker 4: If this is what you guys need right now, then
