- 0:50Speaker 1: Dude, it's been sports complex right next to the Tenny
- 0:53Speaker 1: west Van camp for brass instruments only where we have
- 0:58Speaker 1: let's see what have we done to night. We have
- 1:00Speaker 1: secured the old lady's house on the hill. We made
- 1:03Speaker 1: sure that was fun. We have made sure children are
- 1:08Speaker 1: are taken care of. The rain has subsided for now,
- 1:14Speaker 1: and the first game of the women's Final four is over,
- 1:17Speaker 1: so we will be getting into some drummas for that.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Kenny, Welcome, welcome, welcome, Thank you all for joining us
- 1:24Speaker 2: for sports.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Allegedly Sean al Wright, as he said before, I'm Kenny,
- 1:28Speaker 3: thanks for joining us.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Uh left.
- 1:33Speaker 3: And no, So we got a lot to talk about tonight. Obviously,
- 1:36Speaker 3: gonna get into Final four men's basketball. We're gonna talk
- 1:38Speaker 3: about Tulsa basketball. Oh you basketball, Uh, they're still in tournaments. Obviously,
- 1:43Speaker 3: we're gonna talk about some coaching changes with it, the U,
- 1:46Speaker 3: the n c A A, uh, the President dabbling in
- 1:50Speaker 3: some sports today or was.
- 1:51Speaker 2: It announced yesterday? I could remember.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So there was a lot that went on this week
- 1:58Speaker 1: in sports rules.
- 1:59Speaker 3: But we want to talk about first and probably first
- 2:02Speaker 3: time ever, and I must say I hate to toot
- 2:04Speaker 3: my own horns.
- 2:07Speaker 1: That I did.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I did predict, as many of you around the country
- 2:11Speaker 3: did in your brackets if you filled one out that
- 2:13Speaker 3: we did predict here at.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Sports all one seeds, all one.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Seeds would make uh the women's final four.
- 2:22Speaker 1: So we opened obviously, and I.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Undefeated Yukon generally ranked number one all year, South Carolina
- 2:28Speaker 3: thirty six and I'm sorry three loss team coming in
- 2:32Speaker 3: the other one seed on the bracket final. We just
- 2:35Speaker 3: finished the game sixty two forty eight, and it got
- 2:39Speaker 3: a little heat at then.
- 2:40Speaker 2: We're going to try to play something because we just started.
- 2:42Speaker 3: We just we just just just we missed the whole Shenanigans.
- 2:47Speaker 2: We saw the the handshake or the jorn we split gino.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Uh, well we we hold on. We didn't just split.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Well, we moved away from the TV.
- 2:55Speaker 1: We we saw the final, uh, and we turned on
- 2:58Speaker 1: Bugs Love watched a little in the beginning, and then
- 3:02Speaker 1: we split.
- 3:03Speaker 2: By the way, that's a really great, that's a great.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Kids are older and you haven't watched Bugs Life in
- 3:07Speaker 3: a minute, watch it the watch. We're gonna try to
- 3:10Speaker 3: play this. You might get a little bit of a commercial.
- 3:12Speaker 3: So we played this.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Is a conference confrontation. Confrontation between Genome Ara.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Mama, ari Emma Arima ari Emma.
- 3:24Speaker 1: It's and Don Staley.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Hey, good job on that one. You got that one.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Yeah, she's I root for all the time. She's a
- 3:29Speaker 1: great coach. Uh that edd words at the end of
- 3:32Speaker 1: the game. Uh so there's gonna be commercial when to
- 3:35Speaker 1: try to.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Build that commercial credit to ESPN, we're getting this is
- 3:39Speaker 2: just and it is.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Gonna commercial first unfortunately, and I can't skip.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Maybe it'll be commercial free.
- 3:48Speaker 1: No, no, I don't pay for unlimited.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Oh it's a mass. We're just gonna gonna mute it.
- 3:58Speaker 2: We're getting credit for the little mams desk utility did
- 4:00Speaker 2: no mass? Still in business? Cool?
- 4:02Speaker 1: Next game? Up we go?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yes, okay, won finally the Phoenix something the officials will
- 4:13Speaker 2: hold the players.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Now, Dawn and Gino getting into it a little bit
- 4:16Speaker 4: on the sideline as Gino has to be held back.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Now Gino comes back to say Center yell, think next.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I think the exits that way.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Such a compelling one.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I can't wait for this one to come. God, I
- 4:38Speaker 1: love this Center Court.
- 4:41Speaker 3: You know he is such a smug ass, though I
- 4:45Speaker 3: used to really root for him.
- 4:46Speaker 1: You know, you talked about it realize why he's so
- 4:48Speaker 1: smug is because they just went undefeated and then ended
- 4:51Speaker 1: up against a three lost South Carolina team that they
- 4:54Speaker 1: more than likely believed that they were going to win against.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And you know, I remember because they were up as
- 5:02Speaker 1: many as ten and then would come back. Now, you
- 5:06Speaker 1: granted final scores sixty two to forty eight, but they
- 5:10Speaker 1: at one point South Carolina had been up by ten
- 5:13Speaker 1: and Yukon had come back. This was a rubber band
- 5:15Speaker 1: match there for the first back and forth three and
- 5:19Speaker 1: a half quarters, I would say three and three and
- 5:21Speaker 1: a quarter quarters, three quarters going on. Anybody walks some
- 5:25Speaker 1: quarters pool tournament.
- 5:28Speaker 3: So obviously got heated. And obviously they're two passionate coaches.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Obviously Yukon's got two of the most craziest as far
- 5:40Speaker 3: as out there and in anybody's face.
- 5:43Speaker 2: And we'll talk about that.
- 5:44Speaker 3: We wanted to talk a little bit about the controversy
- 5:46Speaker 3: with Yukon after the dude game with the referee, because
- 5:49Speaker 3: I can go on a little bit of ran about that,
- 5:50Speaker 3: about the bullshit that the media is trying to make
- 5:52Speaker 3: continue continue to make up. I was looking to see Sean,
- 5:57Speaker 3: what was the I know, O.
- 5:58Speaker 2: You beat North Carolina women. Who was the other two
- 6:03Speaker 2: losses to just you got it? All right, We're gonna
- 6:06Speaker 2: check and see what there's other two losses. I was
- 6:08Speaker 2: going to check that before, but I.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Knew Oklahoma was one, and I thought, well did did
- 6:15Speaker 3: ukon and them playing a non con.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Texas Texas by two?
- 6:19Speaker 3: Now Texas is on the other side that game is
- 6:21Speaker 3: getting ready to kick off against u c l A.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Correct, But Texas Texas beat them by two. Okay, in
- 6:27Speaker 1: the regular season they beat him, and then South Carolina
- 6:31Speaker 1: beat him sixty eight sixty five in the second meeting.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Oh you had beat them? Oh yeah, yeah yeah, and
- 6:37Speaker 1: they lost to Texas in the tournament twice, Yes, sixty
- 6:43Speaker 1: one and that was that was during the during the
- 6:46Speaker 1: SEC Women's tournament women. I mean, I wouldn't.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I would be surprised if you see, I mean you, Cela.
- 6:52Speaker 1: UCLA is coming into this game as a one loss.
- 6:54Speaker 3: You want to go to that Sean move to that
- 6:57Speaker 3: next interview and see if she asked anything about that,
- 6:59Speaker 3: if he's got.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Okay, So this is don Stayley reacts to the tense
- 7:05Speaker 1: interaction between her and Gino rmea.
- 7:09Speaker 2: A little bit.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Yeah, what.
- 7:13Speaker 2: We're gonna flip to that and see if we got anything.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna might have to the best days. Yeah, I mean,
- 7:19Speaker 1: you go ahead and mute the commercials because here at
- 7:21Speaker 1: sports allegedly so Texas, we hate commercials. So u c
- 7:25Speaker 1: L A.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Texas tip off. They've probably already tipped off, right, Yeah,
- 7:30Speaker 2: two to two already started.
- 7:32Speaker 1: That is a one loss u c L. A team
- 7:34Speaker 1: that came out of the Big ten. Remember now they're
- 7:36Speaker 1: not Packed twelve anymore. They are Big ten, and we're
- 7:39Speaker 1: gonna talk. I'll go fine, So that is that is
- 7:42Speaker 1: a heavy, heavy conference to come out of for women
- 7:44Speaker 1: as well.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Yes, find their one loss. Let's see what it is.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Please don't say it's ruggers looking looking looking early in
- 7:54Speaker 5: the season, because I mean there's ranked ranked he'd be
- 8:00Speaker 5: killed too, killed Tennessee Texas.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Wow and so.
- 8:09Speaker 3: And you can tell she's heated. Still, So here we go.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Here's the interview with Dawn after the game sideline.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Right now, I have no idea, but I'm gonna let
- 8:19Speaker 2: you know this.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I love integrity. I love integrity. So if I did
- 8:24Speaker 1: something wrong to Gino, I had no idea what I did.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I guess I didn't shake his hand at the beginning
- 8:31Speaker 1: of the game.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I didn't know. I went down the pre game shun
- 8:34Speaker 2: everybody on his stabs hand.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I don't know what he came with after the game,
- 8:38Speaker 1: but hey, sometimes daves get heated.
- 8:41Speaker 3: We moved on.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Okay, let's get to your team, because that's what they
- 8:44Speaker 2: dominate performance. How did they come out with such suffocating defense.
- 8:49Speaker 3: And set the tone in this game?
- 8:51Speaker 2: All right, well, there it is. So maybe he didn't
- 8:53Speaker 2: get a handshake like you hoped for. Wow, what a
- 8:55Speaker 2: freaking you know.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I do the same thing. I get very heated at
- 8:58Speaker 1: Kenny when I come in and I don't get an
- 9:00Speaker 1: in shake or a kiss.
- 9:01Speaker 3: High five, or everybody's got to acknowledge that Sean is.
- 9:05Speaker 1: In the house. Well, yeah, that's true.
- 9:08Speaker 2: That dog usually does that for you.
- 9:10Speaker 1: That's anywhere I go. You acknowledge that I'm at the bar,
- 9:12Speaker 1: you acknowledge that I'm in the in the convenience. So
- 9:15Speaker 1: definitely the dog has got that cavered for you.
- 9:18Speaker 3: All right, So we'll talk a little bit as we
- 9:21Speaker 3: close this podcast, We'll give you an update on Texas
- 9:24Speaker 3: U C l A.
- 9:24Speaker 2: I've got Texas predicted to win that one.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I'm taking u c l A. For that, are you?
- 9:28Speaker 2: And then are you gonna take game? Car, I'm gonna take.
- 9:30Speaker 1: I'm taking. I'm taking.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I think they're gonna beat Texas.
- 9:35Speaker 1: And like I said, I like this team. I like
- 9:38Speaker 1: this I just like Don Staley as a coach. You know,
- 9:41Speaker 1: you know, uh, what was it last year or two
- 9:44Speaker 1: years when she faced U c l A or l
- 9:47Speaker 1: s U with milk, Yeah, with with Malkey and and
- 9:51Speaker 1: that got heated as well.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I believe well anyone could get heated with is as.
- 9:58Speaker 3: We need to watch some old games m versus Geno.
- 10:01Speaker 3: That's probably some dandy stuff there too, when the old Baylor,
- 10:04Speaker 3: when she was at Baylor and they were so good,
- 10:06Speaker 3: and they I'm sure they've met up. But are we
- 10:11Speaker 3: going to be in We're nine minutes and we.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Talk women's basketball?
- 10:14Speaker 2: Those Hey, thank you Yon for joining us for the
- 10:17Speaker 2: women's version of the basketball.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I mean they deserve their due. Yeah, I mean we're
- 10:22Speaker 1: not gonna we're not going to.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Be talking w NBA exactly except except they.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Connecticut you lost your team back to Houston.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Except they I say they deserve their due.
- 10:35Speaker 3: It's potentially this could be a sign of Neil now
- 10:40Speaker 3: and what you could be seeing in this the men's
- 10:43Speaker 3: in the men's basketball. Well no, I mean because you've
- 10:47Speaker 3: got the big programs, you got the big money. Hey,
- 10:49Speaker 3: there they are now with basketball? How many you know?
- 10:54Speaker 3: You looked at the sweet sixteen? Who was the lowest
- 10:56Speaker 3: seed this year? I think it was like Virginia.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Was that the lowest? Not Virginia, I'm sorry, Tennessee. Was
- 11:01Speaker 2: they the lowest? Okay, because we're talking about men's now.
- 11:05Speaker 2: So they came, and what I talked about is I.
- 11:09Speaker 1: They were my surprise. You want to we want to
- 11:12Speaker 1: move over to the men's Yeah, I was gonna have
- 11:15Speaker 1: that was your rant No, no, so semi ranty. I
- 11:20Speaker 1: wanted to ask you what was your biggest surprise team
- 11:23Speaker 1: and what was the team that you believe could make
- 11:27Speaker 1: it deep that didn't. But then did that that that
- 11:33Speaker 1: you thought coming out of at least the sweet sixteen
- 11:36Speaker 1: that didn't do anything, that did make it out of
- 11:38Speaker 1: the sweet sixteen and is deep? Oh oh well, I mean,
- 11:41Speaker 1: but not a number one obviously.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Connecticut. Illinois is the biggest surprise. Simply be in Connecticut too.
- 11:48Speaker 3: I mean both sides over there. Connecticut has some age
- 11:52Speaker 3: on them, which helps them, but they got near the
- 11:54Speaker 3: talent that they'd had. Even though some of the guys
- 11:57Speaker 3: had played on their former their previous national championship, they
- 12:00Speaker 3: ain't got the talent that they.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Had in the past.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Illinois, who got I think steamrolled if I'm not mistaken by.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Who wasn't in the big tent? Was it Duke no
- 12:11Speaker 2: see no not Duke no no, no.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Hold on, I'm trying to think who beat them horribly
- 12:16Speaker 3: in uh, Illinois, excuse.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Me, Nebraska, Iowa?
- 12:23Speaker 3: I mean they yeah, so we'll get to that, but no,
- 12:26Speaker 3: they're the biggest surprise. I think he's gonna throw that
- 12:28Speaker 3: one at me, But I think that was my biggest prize.
- 12:31Speaker 1: My biggest surprise was Tennessee making it Tennessee Sweet sixteen.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Fine.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I was also surprised at Nebraska. Nebraska making it to
- 12:40Speaker 3: the Sweet sixteen was huge. If you remember, they had
- 12:44Speaker 3: kind of struggled towards the end of the year. Wasn't
- 12:46Speaker 3: playing their best and this year was their very first
- 12:49Speaker 3: tournament win. Wasn't playing their best basketball. But you look
- 12:53Speaker 3: at it was Michigan that killed Illinois. That's what I
- 12:55Speaker 3: was trying to think of. So eighty four to seventy
- 12:57Speaker 3: in February, and then you know, and you got some
- 13:00Speaker 3: random losses. Wisconsin was in the Big Ten tournament in overtime.
- 13:04Speaker 3: That's great. I think they shot threes like crazy in
- 13:08Speaker 3: that game. So I really wasn't worried, you know, watching
- 13:11Speaker 3: them in the tournament. I honestly think the tournament don't
- 13:14Speaker 3: mean shit, except it's for a money thing.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Illinois, for me, was that team that I figured could win.
- 13:21Speaker 1: They were always a fifty to fifty. Nebraska beat him
- 13:25Speaker 1: once before, right, right, So Illinois was always a fifty
- 13:28Speaker 1: to fifty for me. It was always a coin flip.
- 13:30Speaker 1: But putting them against two I was gonna put them
- 13:32Speaker 1: against And now Tennessee was the biggest surprise to make
- 13:36Speaker 1: it as deep as they did, because I don't know
- 13:39Speaker 1: if you saw they, I mean, they just they were
- 13:42Speaker 1: getting beat. They didn't look like they were coming in strong.
- 13:44Speaker 1: They didn't look like they even wanted to be there.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Sure, well, there was a non and there was a
- 13:49Speaker 3: tournament game early in the year at Madison Square Garden,
- 13:52Speaker 3: Connecticut and beat Illinois already, right, there was seventy four
- 13:55Speaker 3: to sixty one, right, But that was only eight games
- 13:58Speaker 3: in to the season.
- 14:00Speaker 2: And and you look at you know, field goal percentage,
- 14:04Speaker 2: Indiana or I'm sorry, Illinois was in the thirty percentile.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Three point was twenty.
- 14:09Speaker 1: They just didn't do the thing about Illinois. The thing
- 14:11Speaker 1: about Illinois is they were either on or off. That
- 14:15Speaker 1: was That was the whole point with them. They were
- 14:17Speaker 1: either on or off.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Brad under they had the talent.
- 14:20Speaker 1: They've had the talent because it was Underwood the coach
- 14:24Speaker 1: that took over after self left or was.
- 14:26Speaker 3: It no, that was no, Bruce Weber took after self, remember,
- 14:31Speaker 3: and Bruce got fired, went to Kansas State.
- 14:33Speaker 2: He was the white haired coach.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Yes, Brad I believe followed Bruce and he left Oklahoma
- 14:39Speaker 3: State and only after one year, and all he wanted
- 14:42Speaker 3: was a little more money because I think they made
- 14:43Speaker 3: the tournament or they turned it around or whatever. And
- 14:45Speaker 3: of course some holders like, eh, we you know why
- 14:49Speaker 3: because you'd already given the whole farm to Travis Ford
- 14:52Speaker 3: after one good year and you were paranoid about the backlash,
- 14:56Speaker 3: had no issue.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Yes, well, you know you got to remember that they
- 14:59Speaker 1: were still trying to build that football team to do something. Yeah,
- 15:02Speaker 1: but they had some money for basketball, I know, and
- 15:04Speaker 1: they basketball and baseball has been their bread and.
- 15:07Speaker 3: But but he goofed, he goofed by uh he he
- 15:12Speaker 3: shot over the moon with Travis Ford. And I'm not
- 15:15Speaker 3: saying Travis Ford is a horrible coach. They had some
- 15:18Speaker 3: okay years and I don't believe that.
- 15:19Speaker 1: We're actually, you know, at this point, trying to knock
- 15:23Speaker 1: on Oklahoma State if their football team. Guess. But but
- 15:27Speaker 1: as for their other sports, they generally they are very
- 15:29Speaker 1: good at baseball and in basketball, but recently they've been
- 15:37Speaker 1: on a downswing. You do you think holiday's gonna stay?
- 15:40Speaker 1: Is the coach for baseball?
- 15:42Speaker 2: Where's he gonna go? Unless he goes to the gonna
- 15:45Speaker 2: hire blah. That's the deal.
- 15:46Speaker 3: That was kind of the portermosure deal. It's like, why
- 15:49Speaker 3: don't you instead of buying him out, why don't you
- 15:51Speaker 3: take that money. You're gonna ask all these boosters for
- 15:54Speaker 3: give it to players to.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Get in this program, stay with the program or new
- 16:00Speaker 1: ones because we had I was just looking at one
- 16:03Speaker 1: of your screens that you had up the other day,
- 16:04Speaker 1: and oh, you had a guy in the top top
- 16:09Speaker 1: five I believe for three point shooting.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Oh this year, Yeah, they got you were looking at
- 16:17Speaker 3: I mean you got to look at how many how
- 16:19Speaker 3: many blown games Oklahoma really had and Sean you talked
- 16:23Speaker 3: about it, all we needed was one or two wins
- 16:26Speaker 3: that were that that gay, that that would have been
- 16:31Speaker 3: then mis Mississippi State was one of the worst that
- 16:33Speaker 3: we took.
- 16:33Speaker 1: But you know that was it was a win that
- 16:36Speaker 1: would have been accounted as aquad one win.
- 16:38Speaker 2: And it and it actually we were punished more for
- 16:40Speaker 2: the loss than we were would have been for the win.
- 16:44Speaker 2: So but no, I think as far as the.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Underdog, Tennessee was fun, Illinois has been great because I
- 16:51Speaker 3: love Underwood.
- 16:52Speaker 2: You know, they're sitting there with eight losses.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Wad to root for because you looked at him and
- 16:56Speaker 1: you're like, oh, you guys finally cared.
- 16:58Speaker 2: H well, and Rick Barnes made everybody.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Everybody gives Rick Barnes ship because he's a coach that
- 17:03Speaker 3: can't ever get his teams anywhere. But I was talking
- 17:07Speaker 3: about the money portion when we kind of segued into
- 17:09Speaker 3: this is there's no Cinderellas this year. Really, you know,
- 17:13Speaker 3: Nebraska was a fun story in the Sweet sixteen.
- 17:16Speaker 1: See I don't consider I don't quad one.
- 17:20Speaker 2: No, it was only fun because they had never won.
- 17:21Speaker 1: But I don't consider a quad one as a Cinderella
- 17:24Speaker 1: no matter how that.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Was more of Maybe maybe sentimental is the better word.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I consider all the other team. Saint John would
- 17:32Speaker 1: have been the closest that we had, but I think
- 17:35Speaker 1: considered yes, yes, yes, yeah, I don't know. I don't
- 17:41Speaker 1: know that we really had any Do you see anybody
- 17:45Speaker 1: on there that.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Was South South Florida. They didn't do anything.
- 17:48Speaker 1: They didn't do anything.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Arkansas was my bigger disappointment. Again, but they played Arizona
- 17:54Speaker 3: and Arizona. I mean they did make the sweet sixteen?
- 17:57Speaker 3: Or do they make the lead eight? No, Arkansas? Who
- 18:01Speaker 3: beat is it? Is this the eight right here? Yeah,
- 18:03Speaker 3: that's not the proper No, this is your picks.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I know, I get it. Yes, they beat No. It
- 18:09Speaker 2: was sweet sixteen, so yeah, they just made it. They
- 18:12Speaker 2: didn't make it out sweet sixteen. But I thought because
- 18:16Speaker 2: they played Purdue sorry, Arizona did.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Yes, and Saint John's give Duke a shot and played
- 18:25Speaker 3: him hard. I never really thought Michigan State was going
- 18:29Speaker 3: to do anything. Oh, Texas, that was a big surprise.
- 18:34Speaker 3: I forgot about Texas. Then they held it almost beat Perdue.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I thought that was a good spread. Love Sean Miller,
- 18:39Speaker 3: hate Texas love Sean Miller. Loved that coach, hated the
- 18:41Speaker 3: coaching higher for them because I was like, damn it,
- 18:44Speaker 3: that's actually a good coach.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Well, and then their ex coach is doing very well,
- 18:47Speaker 1: not this year, but has oh yeah he did better.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, let's talk a little bit about the
- 18:55Speaker 2: Duke Ykon game before we.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Get to.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Yeah, last week's oh yeah, we still talking?
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yes, yes, So as we were talking, I was watching
- 19:06Speaker 1: the game up to the point that I thought it
- 19:09Speaker 1: was over. I was at work watching the game. I
- 19:12Speaker 1: had to go do some stuff. I had stepped away
- 19:14Speaker 1: from the game. I come back to a text message
- 19:17Speaker 1: from Kenny. Game was over. I didn't see the final score,
- 19:22Speaker 1: and I got a text message from Kenny saying, oh
- 19:24Speaker 1: my god, what an ending. And I was like, I
- 19:28Speaker 1: was like, what is he talking about? Because Duke was
- 19:31Speaker 1: killing Yukon nineteen point and I go look it up
- 19:36Speaker 1: and Yukon wins by two three was the two yeah
- 19:41Speaker 1: two yeah on one And I had no idea and
- 19:45Speaker 1: I had to go back and look at everything, and
- 19:47Speaker 1: I'm like, how did this happen? How did me going
- 19:50Speaker 1: to work, going you know, having to do something, coming
- 19:53Speaker 1: back to watch to look up everything, and Duke being
- 19:57Speaker 1: knocked out.
- 19:58Speaker 2: So my story was watching the first half board out.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Of my mind and I'm thinking, damn it, run away,
- 20:04Speaker 3: this is how this game is gonna go. And I
- 20:06Speaker 3: really thought.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Yukon would at least keep it close.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Can we play runaway tracks? Never kill fifteen?
- 20:17Speaker 3: Duke's the first lead, Duke's the first team number one,
- 20:20Speaker 3: losing history by leading at least fifteen points.
- 20:25Speaker 2: At halftime.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I will say I was love with History's made.
- 20:27Speaker 3: I did too, and there's a lot of that. Not
- 20:29Speaker 3: like Cinderella, Nebraska wins. So nineteen point rally does it comeback?
- 20:35Speaker 3: Yukon it one time is down by nineteen point.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Houston does a Houston in Houston.
- 20:40Speaker 2: And we'll talk about that in a minute. That was
- 20:42Speaker 2: a disappointment for me and Kelvin Sam. But anyway, you
- 20:45Speaker 2: look at Yukon.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Illinois at fifty fifty time.
- 20:48Speaker 3: I'm traveling in the truck listening to game and I'm
- 20:50Speaker 3: on the radio, so I'm thinking, man, you just hear everything,
- 20:53Speaker 3: and you hear the commentators. You just get this feeling
- 20:56Speaker 3: and you're not even watching it, but you just feel like.
- 20:58Speaker 3: And that's a hard job for radio now to do.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Is they got to make you feel like you're there
- 21:02Speaker 3: by not because your eyeballs are. So I'm sitting there
- 21:06Speaker 3: and I just keep I just I just keep thinking,
- 21:10Speaker 3: Duke is gonna blow this. They're giving Yukon just all
- 21:13Speaker 3: these little teensy tiny little opportunities just to give. And
- 21:19Speaker 3: if you look at statistically, pull that up Sean in
- 21:21Speaker 3: that game. Statistically, if you look, Yukon shot like ship
- 21:26Speaker 3: from three in the second half, they were cheering the
- 21:30Speaker 3: Yukon players for just making one because I think that
- 21:33Speaker 3: they were oer for whatever. I mean, their percentage was
- 21:36Speaker 3: just terrific when it came to to them, sorry what
- 21:44Speaker 3: it would have been. It would have been.
- 21:47Speaker 1: For some reason. I went back like two weeks, so no,
- 21:50Speaker 1: just shooting horribly.
- 21:51Speaker 3: And then every little thing you're just watching or I'm
- 21:55Speaker 3: listening and I'm thinking, Okay, well they've got it close now,
- 21:59Speaker 3: so get home run in watch the last three or
- 22:04Speaker 3: four minutes, and I'm sitting there and I'm thinking, Okay,
- 22:07Speaker 3: now they're up.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Now they're not. Now they're up, now they're not.
- 22:10Speaker 1: And Yukon won with a twenty two three point.
- 22:15Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 22:16Speaker 1: In most of forty two percent field goal, forty four
- 22:21Speaker 1: and seventy one percent free throw. Here's your here's your
- 22:25Speaker 1: here's your stat. Thirteen turnovers and I think they had.
- 22:29Speaker 3: I don't know if you if that will break that down, Sean,
- 22:32Speaker 3: but I guarantee how them thirteen turnovers, I promise you,
- 22:36Speaker 3: I promise you most of those.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Were in the second half.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Oh, they would have had to have been.
- 22:40Speaker 3: But the field goal percentage was watching Connecticut, they just
- 22:43Speaker 3: couldn't hit nothing. And then for them to turn around
- 22:46Speaker 3: and then so I'm watching the end of the game.
- 22:48Speaker 1: So what does that tell you about Duke shooting in
- 22:50Speaker 1: the first half versus Duke shooting in the second half? God,
- 22:55Speaker 1: what does that tell you about Duke shooting in the
- 22:56Speaker 1: first half versus Duke shooting second.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Well, I think mainly it was a turno and just
- 23:00Speaker 3: you know, the moment got to them. So you're watching
- 23:03Speaker 3: this game and then you see Hurley. I think at
- 23:05Speaker 3: the end of the game he was saying, foul somebody,
- 23:08Speaker 3: foul somebody, and the players didn't because they couldn't get
- 23:13Speaker 3: to it. And then that's when you have boozer who's
- 23:16Speaker 3: got two guys beat the press. It was run perfectly
- 23:20Speaker 3: the setup for Duke. The player just choked it.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Just it is what it is.
- 23:25Speaker 3: He's a young kid. He just choked and he's the
- 23:29Speaker 3: lesser of the boozer. So all he had to do
- 23:32Speaker 3: was turn around or face what they say, face the ball.
- 23:37Speaker 3: So he panics, tries to throw it over. There's the tip.
- 23:39Speaker 3: He gets it and he makes a pass and I'm
- 23:42Speaker 3: screaming at the TV, don't shoot it yet, You've got time.
- 23:46Speaker 3: And he shot it ear arm and I did. I thought,
- 23:49Speaker 3: oh god, he took a big one. He could have
- 23:51Speaker 3: took another step and would have had time to any end.
- 23:55Speaker 1: So I mean, we're looking, we're looking at the at
- 23:57Speaker 1: the breakdown of all this, and you've got the You've
- 24:01Speaker 1: got the fast break points of Duke got or Yukon
- 24:05Speaker 1: got twenty or twelve and Duke got eight.
- 24:10Speaker 2: But look at the points of.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Who turnovers hold on points of the paint are Yukon
- 24:16Speaker 1: with thirty six Duke with thirty four?
- 24:18Speaker 2: Surprising that that But here's here's where.
- 24:20Speaker 1: It gets weird. Is off the points off total turnovers.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Yukon gets twenty, Duke only got seven.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Correct so well because Connecticut only had five second half
- 24:35Speaker 3: they all.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Had five turnovers.
- 24:36Speaker 3: And there's where you I talk about the older age
- 24:39Speaker 3: of these teams, some of these guys that have been
- 24:41Speaker 3: around a while. But the craziness about that is it
- 24:44Speaker 3: was a tale of first half or each half. Halftime
- 24:47Speaker 3: forty four to twenty.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Nine, Kenny, it's always a tail of no listen, but no.
- 24:51Speaker 3: The points, and then the second half forty four to
- 24:54Speaker 3: twenty eight there's only one points difference and that was
- 24:56Speaker 3: the win. So they were both almost like dentical on
- 25:01Speaker 3: how they performed at the end. Now, to me, there's
- 25:05Speaker 3: nothing wrong with.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen. It's always important on how you perform
- 25:09Speaker 1: at the end.
- 25:10Speaker 3: It's but you know, that's where you really you win
- 25:14Speaker 3: the game. You if you're in it to win it,
- 25:17Speaker 3: you've got to go to the end. You've really got
- 25:19Speaker 3: to go.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Are you trying?
- 25:21Speaker 2: Are you trying? Are you trying to be?
- 25:22Speaker 3: Are you?
- 25:22Speaker 1: Are you trying to be?
- 25:23Speaker 3: Like?
- 25:23Speaker 2: Are you trying to be? Like the guy that was
- 25:25Speaker 2: on the TV and all the windows did you catch them?
- 25:29Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 25:30Speaker 3: What's the guy's name with Barkley and he's the guy
- 25:33Speaker 3: that's on Good Morning America or something here on CBS.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Nate, No, that's the other guy.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Late dog Nate. Is that who it is is that
- 25:50Speaker 1: they must have been playing. I don't remember.
- 25:51Speaker 2: No, I can't remember. I can't his name, but he
- 25:54Speaker 2: made a joke about glinked in longevity. I'm like, dude,
- 25:58Speaker 2: who was it? He replaced Brian Gumble.
- 26:02Speaker 3: He did definitely miss that guy, definitely Rill.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I just missed the Gumbles, both of them.
- 26:09Speaker 3: But I just I missed you know, Greg was I
- 26:12Speaker 3: mean Final four or you know March Madness. You give
- 26:16Speaker 3: that voice and that music and you're like, I'm ready
- 26:19Speaker 3: just to watch some TV.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Okay, all right?
- 26:24Speaker 1: He would have recapped on the other side, you know,
- 26:26Speaker 1: the blowout, the blow out of Michigan Tennessee. As I said,
- 26:30Speaker 1: Tennessee was my biggest surprise to be as deep as
- 26:33Speaker 1: they were, as far as they got. I you just
- 26:38Speaker 1: because you watch them in the season. Didn't they get
- 26:41Speaker 1: knocked out in the first round of the SEC tournament
- 26:44Speaker 1: as well? Didn't Vandy beat him? Who Tennessee?
- 26:49Speaker 2: I don't remember where they went out then.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I think I think they were like a first round
- 26:52Speaker 1: out or something weird. Anyway, anyway, anyways, you got guys
- 26:59Speaker 1: that come in looking like they don't want to be there,
- 27:01Speaker 1: and then they started.
- 27:02Speaker 3: I feel that two brackets had Houston winning it in
- 27:04Speaker 3: one uh, and then I had Arizona win it in
- 27:06Speaker 3: the other one. And I had Arizona beating Michigan because
- 27:09Speaker 3: I love the way Michigan plays. I mean, they that's
- 27:12Speaker 3: gonna be a fun asking game.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Dusty May, Dusty May has all transfer.
- 27:16Speaker 3: And he's not going He's not going to Carolina. We'll
- 27:18Speaker 3: get into that chatter in a minute about coaching. But
- 27:23Speaker 3: with Arizona, which Tommy Lloyd signed an extension today, bumps
- 27:27Speaker 3: his salary up to like seven and a half million
- 27:30Speaker 3: or mid seven's.
- 27:32Speaker 2: He was making five. That's a good you know.
- 27:36Speaker 1: And he paid the staff and then then got a stabe.
- 27:38Speaker 3: But I would you Now, obviously, Caroline is gonna throw
- 27:42Speaker 3: a lot of money at anybody.
- 27:43Speaker 2: And I'll tell you my coaches I think they should
- 27:45Speaker 2: hire and they won't.
- 27:45Speaker 1: But we get to it, but they've already been told me.
- 27:51Speaker 3: But they're gonna listen to this show tonight and really
- 27:54Speaker 3: hire the guy. I think I'm gonna give him two options.
- 27:57Speaker 3: And yes, and this is the guy that they'll win,
- 28:01Speaker 3: and they're not sexy hires, and that's probably why they
- 28:03Speaker 3: won't do it, because they're so.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Damned these big program teams. I'm not giving credits. Are
- 28:09Speaker 1: we looking for sexy highers anymore? I think North Carolina
- 28:11Speaker 1: is looking for guys.
- 28:12Speaker 3: I think you fire a guy with the winning percentage
- 28:14Speaker 3: that Hubort Davis has. I think you got to make
- 28:17Speaker 3: a splash, and and I think they've splashed out. That's
- 28:20Speaker 3: the problem.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Well, now you've got this weird. But Cunningham not done
- 28:25Speaker 1: until July one, with eight going to Providence over the
- 28:30Speaker 1: U n C.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Well, he probably jumped a gun on that one. He
- 28:34Speaker 2: could have maybe got the UNC job.
- 28:36Speaker 1: From what I've heard, he didn't. He didn't want to
- 28:38Speaker 1: deal with it. Well he didn't. It wasn't open yet. No,
- 28:41Speaker 1: but from it wasn't open, I think he could have.
- 28:44Speaker 1: And he says that now he's at Providence.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I'd say the same thing. I wouldn't have taken my
- 28:48Speaker 2: new job and went, well, you know, if that was open,
- 28:50Speaker 2: I might have looked at it.
- 28:51Speaker 1: You know, to be coch Italians from Providence.
- 28:56Speaker 3: That's a good job. And I think they're gonna spend
- 28:57Speaker 3: a lot of money on that. I don't know if
- 28:59Speaker 3: that co which is the great hire. He's had three years,
- 29:01Speaker 3: two at Arkansas State and one at South Florida. I'm
- 29:04Speaker 3: not so sure he's the the chosen one. But no,
- 29:09Speaker 3: so getting back to that, I mean, you fire Hubert Davis.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Who would you pull up his winning percentage? Seawan?
- 29:14Speaker 3: I was gonna talk about that because I want to
- 29:16Speaker 3: talk about I thought we were gonna jump, but no,
- 29:19Speaker 3: we're gonna talk.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Uh, we'll make our picks here an we'll do that.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Last week. You know I got beat do I? I
- 29:29Speaker 1: got beat by Illinois.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Oh, I don't want to go through all that bullshit.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Arizona. Arizona took out number two p due. Then we
- 29:39Speaker 1: gotta I gotta get back over to the other games
- 29:40Speaker 1: for the final four, and then I gotta go here
- 29:43Speaker 1: to Hooby Davis.
- 29:44Speaker 3: I want to see what I mean, I've looked at
- 29:46Speaker 3: and I just can't remember. I don't want to give
- 29:47Speaker 3: anybody false information.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I didn't do it all the time, but I'm gonna
- 29:53Speaker 2: talk about my God, he was with my two coaches
- 29:58Speaker 2: they should hire and a get heartbeat.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Here we go. It's just your your winning percentage of
- 30:09Speaker 1: career four ninety eight.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Now, what's he got, Yeah, he's that's his pits when
- 30:17Speaker 3: he was playing. That's his field goal percentage. Cool, let's
- 30:22Speaker 3: go to his coaching first.
- 30:23Speaker 1: That was coaching. God, oh god, I didn't go far enough.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Apparently not.
- 30:31Speaker 1: I never go far enough, trust me.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Okay, So, Hubert Davis has got an almost seven hundred
- 30:37Speaker 3: winning percentage. Now, we talked about this last week. His
- 30:40Speaker 3: best player of the Wilson kids out got hurt. He's
- 30:43Speaker 3: six ninety four in the conference. The ACC is not easy.
- 30:48Speaker 3: He went to the sweet sixteen two years ago, was
- 30:51Speaker 3: first in the conference. Yes, he's had a couple of
- 30:54Speaker 3: boo boos.
- 30:55Speaker 2: You know what. His first year he made the national
- 30:59Speaker 2: championship runner up.
- 31:00Speaker 1: But what happened in what happened in twenty two twenty three?
- 31:04Speaker 1: Did he lose most of those players that came off? Oh?
- 31:06Speaker 2: Must have or he just could have been an upset
- 31:08Speaker 2: that you know that that shit happens in the term.
- 31:10Speaker 2: I don't know who he lost to, but I mean.
- 31:12Speaker 1: He went out in the sweet sixteen and you're the
- 31:14Speaker 1: conference tournament champion.
- 31:16Speaker 2: For the you know, That's what I'm saying. He might
- 31:18Speaker 2: have just had an upset. He it was probably a
- 31:20Speaker 2: high seed, probably something they're using against him as well.
- 31:23Speaker 2: But anyway, so you fire him.
- 31:25Speaker 3: So you got to make a splash, and you went
- 31:26Speaker 3: after Tommy Lloyd who just resigned. We talked about you're
- 31:30Speaker 3: going to try to get Dusty May. He's not leaving Michigan.
- 31:33Speaker 3: There's no reason to leave Michigan. He's in the final four.
- 31:37Speaker 3: We need wheels on them.
- 31:39Speaker 1: He's in there. The slides now, he's.
- 31:42Speaker 2: In the final four.
- 31:43Speaker 3: So what I want to talk about is two options
- 31:46Speaker 3: that I would like to see. Or if I was
- 31:48Speaker 3: a deal and I told you the ad, you've got
- 31:51Speaker 3: this duel.
- 31:53Speaker 2: You've got this dual working thing with Bubba Cunningham and
- 31:57Speaker 2: this Shermer or Shermer I don't remember. Is he's the
- 32:01Speaker 2: new guy.
- 32:01Speaker 3: I didn't even pay attention because he was the one
- 32:03Speaker 3: that really pushed Bill Belichick. Now, if you're a North
- 32:06Speaker 3: Carolina fan at all in sports and you think Bill
- 32:08Speaker 3: Belichick was a good hire for your football team, your nuts.
- 32:12Speaker 3: It's not gonna work out. It's like Bill Belichick and
- 32:15Speaker 3: friends and family. It's like he's on his own phone
- 32:18Speaker 3: plan and that's all his coaches. So you talk about
- 32:20Speaker 3: two coaches that i'd like to see get hired, and
- 32:22Speaker 3: I know they're not going to and that's fair, but
- 32:25Speaker 3: I think that they're guys that continuously win where they're at,
- 32:30Speaker 3: they're affordable, and I think that job is a huge
- 32:35Speaker 3: uptick from where they're at now. The first one I'm
- 32:38Speaker 3: gonna tell, you're gonna say, whatever, it's not an uptick.
- 32:42Speaker 1: It is.
- 32:43Speaker 2: It is.
- 32:45Speaker 3: I think Mick Cronin would be one of my calls.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Coach at UCLA, former coach Cincinnati, coach a little bit
- 32:54Speaker 3: at Murray State, obviously won there, got the Cincinnati job.
- 32:58Speaker 3: He was two hundred and ninety six forty seven at Cincinnati.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Now Cincinnati was a great program, obviously built by Huggins
- 33:06Speaker 3: and so but you're looking at division.
- 33:09Speaker 1: You know, I'm looking at him when he's at Cincinnati.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Excuse me.
- 33:14Speaker 3: His last eight years he was in the tournament, okay,
- 33:19Speaker 3: and then n it before that. Now sweet sixteen was.
- 33:23Speaker 2: His best finished there, excuse me.
- 33:26Speaker 3: So then he goes he gets hired at UCLA in
- 33:28Speaker 3: twenty nineteen, nineteen and twelve, is first year, second year,
- 33:34Speaker 3: twenty two and ten, made the Final four twenty seven
- 33:37Speaker 3: and eight Sweet sixteen thirty one and six sweet sixteen
- 33:42Speaker 3: and then twenty three, twenty four sucked sixteen seventeen, they
- 33:47Speaker 3: moved the Big Ten Conference, twenty three and eleven made
- 33:51Speaker 3: thirty two the round thirty two this year twenty four
- 33:54Speaker 3: and thirty two.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Now.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Mick Cronin has also in different media established or outlets, has.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Mentioned that UCLA hasn't got the money.
- 34:03Speaker 2: And I think we all know.
- 34:04Speaker 3: You can look at the history of their basketball program UCLA,
- 34:08Speaker 3: but that that don't buy into that anymore, you know,
- 34:10Speaker 3: the wooden thing that's over.
- 34:12Speaker 1: No, No, they don't have money, and they don't school.
- 34:14Speaker 3: They don't, they don't, they don't have any it is
- 34:18Speaker 3: they don't. It's yeah, it's just a I think it's
- 34:20Speaker 3: a it's a bad story. Ladies and gentleman try not
- 34:22Speaker 3: to do a liquid and have a couple of So
- 34:25Speaker 3: Mick Crona would be my first and my second choice
- 34:29Speaker 3: to call. And this is the one that they won't
- 34:32Speaker 3: even touch because he's is been to call.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I would coach. Now, let's talk a little bit about
- 34:39Speaker 2: being twenty four and thirteen. This year he made the
- 34:41Speaker 2: Elite eight.
- 34:43Speaker 3: I am not basing that higher on this year alone,
- 34:49Speaker 3: but I do want to talk about the one year
- 34:51Speaker 3: at Drake thirty one and four. I want to talk
- 34:55Speaker 3: about his eight thirteen winning percentage at wor Northwest Missouri State.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Now, now I know that's Division two. I get it,
- 35:05Speaker 2: but he wins. You look, you only play what you're
- 35:09Speaker 2: competing against, So you look at division two. The tournament
- 35:14Speaker 2: I'm gonna go is last twelve years, he's always made
- 35:19Speaker 2: the tournament and he won four national championships.
- 35:23Speaker 1: How are the guy national champions Division two?
- 35:26Speaker 2: Division two? Yeah, Northwest Missouri State.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I mean, he seems like he's a very good program builder.
- 35:32Speaker 1: What is his worst seaton? I don't is his worst
- 35:35Speaker 1: season twenty twelve, twenty thirteen when no, no, he started? Yes,
- 35:39Speaker 1: first season twelve and fifte started.
- 35:42Speaker 3: So you got to and Mick Cronan. He's a little brash.
- 35:47Speaker 3: They're probably not gonna like that at North Carolina. But
- 35:50Speaker 3: those two guys, I don't I don't think that they would.
- 35:52Speaker 1: They would carry if the guy carry, the guy is
- 35:55Speaker 1: carrying it.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Well, I'm not talking about ben Ben's quiet. He'd be
- 35:57Speaker 3: perfect for them. Oh talking about Mitt Cronan from you
- 36:00Speaker 3: A the other guy? I got two guys those are
- 36:02Speaker 3: my two choices. Hi, are those two guys and make
- 36:05Speaker 3: them the coach quit looking at the Saint Louis coach shirts.
- 36:09Speaker 3: That's great, he's he's taken Saint Louis cole. Fred Hoiberg
- 36:13Speaker 3: for Nebraska.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Is not gonna take it. Hoiberg, Yeah, he's not gonna
- 36:19Speaker 1: take it. As you know that they're trying to get.
- 36:22Speaker 2: And then I say, maybe he would take it, but
- 36:24Speaker 2: he's so Midwest to me. You know, he did so
- 36:27Speaker 2: well at Iowa State.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Well and also Iowa State's coach.
- 36:31Speaker 3: I think he's the fallback. I thought he might be,
- 36:35Speaker 3: and I talked about this Sean. I predicted it would
- 36:37Speaker 3: be him in the original he's been out of the tournament.
- 36:40Speaker 3: TJ Alsenberger. He's been out of the tournament for a while.
- 36:44Speaker 3: He should have already been hired if that was their
- 36:48Speaker 3: first choice.
- 36:48Speaker 1: He's not.
- 36:49Speaker 2: I really think he's gonna be.
- 36:50Speaker 1: No college basketball. I don't know how they work, but
- 36:55Speaker 1: can you not talk to it? I know in football
- 36:57Speaker 1: you can't really talk to the coach untill at the
- 36:59Speaker 1: end of their Yeah, but you got agents.
- 37:02Speaker 2: I mean, you guys can come talk to our agents.
- 37:04Speaker 1: You have agents, and you have the ability. J it's
- 37:07Speaker 1: also it's a currentage.
- 37:09Speaker 6: Give my call, and you have the ability to put
- 37:14Speaker 6: it out there. Correct, but that's legal.
- 37:17Speaker 2: You can do that, yes, uh.
- 37:19Speaker 1: And you can let them know that you're looking at them.
- 37:21Speaker 1: But I don't know if they're waiting on somebody in
- 37:23Speaker 1: the tournament currently to talk to until that game is done.
- 37:27Speaker 3: You know, you got Fred Horberg, he went. His waiting
- 37:29Speaker 3: percent is six seventy three. Get it, TJ six ninety six.
- 37:32Speaker 3: But you worry about the neil. I mean you look
- 37:34Speaker 3: at Iowa State. Their coach has left. I'm done football women.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Their Massachusets. He took, he took, and he took one
- 37:42Speaker 1: of the hardest jobs. You know, he's going to go
- 37:47Speaker 1: through scrutiny and even in his first year the coach
- 37:53Speaker 1: the football Penn.
- 37:53Speaker 3: State, Oh Campbell, Campbell, Sorry you think so, Yes, I
- 37:58Speaker 3: think he's going to get a freebie first year.
- 38:00Speaker 1: No, he's gonna be scrutinized. Penn State is now now
- 38:03Speaker 1: now because you have seen the coaches that come in
- 38:06Speaker 1: and just start winning well. And but that and and
- 38:09Speaker 1: that is that has been that has been a h
- 38:14Speaker 1: what is the word I'm looking for, Like a stickler,
- 38:16Speaker 1: like a a point that these blue bloods want coaches
- 38:24Speaker 1: to come in and just immediately start winning.
- 38:27Speaker 3: I think Penn State's gonna be even if you don't
- 38:29Speaker 3: go all the way, they won't think he's gonna be
- 38:31Speaker 3: I think I think he's gonna be a freebie. Year
- 38:33Speaker 3: one is one good win, you know, don't have bad loss.
- 38:40Speaker 3: At looked at the schedule or whatever. But I was
- 38:42Speaker 3: talking about Iowa State. I did notice back to women
- 38:45Speaker 3: real quick. I'm going back to Audie. I had to
- 38:48Speaker 3: remember her first name, Audie Crooks.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Uh.
- 38:52Speaker 3: The junior Center. She's kind of she did from Iowa State.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Now this is it's really good.
- 38:58Speaker 1: I mean, she's a very big girl, but she's also
- 39:01Speaker 1: very good. Yeah, she kept them in a lot of game.
- 39:04Speaker 3: According to USA Today speculation, home I handled that much well.
- 39:11Speaker 3: Reagan Beers is leaving the center we got now, Yeah,
- 39:14Speaker 3: she's graduated.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Okay, I thought she has still had another year.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Now, can can Elias Chavez, who was the ESPN Rookie
- 39:24Speaker 3: of the Year, our gal from ou Can she handle
- 39:26Speaker 3: being second fiddle because he's gonna want the ball?
- 39:28Speaker 1: I know, so we got. I think was I'm trying
- 39:32Speaker 1: to imagine Beers and her together and just thinking about.
- 39:35Speaker 2: How yours is out. No, but just think about the
- 39:38Speaker 2: Twin Towers.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, just set them in the post and be like,
- 39:42Speaker 1: come on, well, it.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Kind of reminds you of the I know, you need
- 39:46Speaker 3: some center help. That's what killed them this year. You know,
- 39:49Speaker 3: you look at South Carolina kicking their ass because the bigs.
- 39:52Speaker 3: I mean, you got to other options, Notre Dame, Maryland Girls, Iowa.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Obviously. I don't think she'll go to Iowa.
- 39:59Speaker 2: That'd be a tas ass.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Move cloy and that's why they're still relevant. But they
- 40:04Speaker 1: had a pretty good year that she did, know, and
- 40:07Speaker 1: it's it's you gonna say, she's two years.
- 40:08Speaker 3: And they're building that brand. And Iowa was different, you
- 40:12Speaker 3: know that. I mean they don't have any pro teams. No,
- 40:14Speaker 3: but they don't have any pro teams. So that's the
- 40:16Speaker 3: thing kind of Nebraska. That's what carried Nebraska football for
- 40:19Speaker 3: so long is they were the show and they still
- 40:22Speaker 3: pull what one hundred thousand people at that stadium every
- 40:25Speaker 3: time they you know, same.
- 40:27Speaker 2: As going to Arkansas as you not O. You see
- 40:30Speaker 2: that's different.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Oh you is not a sports I totally disagree football, yes,
- 40:35Speaker 3: but anything else No, But those Iowa, those Iowa Iowa State. Well,
- 40:40Speaker 3: softball now, but we're not a heavy sports.
- 40:44Speaker 1: We were having sportsball for a.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Couple of years.
- 40:48Speaker 1: We were good with that. We were good with Blake
- 40:50Speaker 1: and Trey and all them.
- 40:51Speaker 2: They couldn't fill the stadium when Kelvin was there.
- 40:53Speaker 1: And I still had empty. So everybody loves baseball. But no,
- 40:56Speaker 1: I was just talking about the football team.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Oh well yeah, football course, of course. Yeah, I thought
- 41:01Speaker 3: you were just talking about I'm talking about general sports.
- 41:03Speaker 3: It's kind of the thing to do.
- 41:04Speaker 1: I tell you, you look at it. Well, everybody that
- 41:07Speaker 1: goes to well the gymnastics.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Meets agreed volleyball for Nebraska. So wrestling for.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Wrestling, well, I don't even know where you finished.
- 41:20Speaker 6: Oh you wrestling state. They should drop that. I don't
- 41:23Speaker 6: they need good. I think we still have a question
- 41:25Speaker 6: as well. I'm talking about, Hey, you know what they're.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Trying to bring in ladies flag football, and I think
- 41:30Speaker 1: TOLSA could do that and get their baseball team back.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Mick Cronin then to call and make it happen, and
- 41:36Speaker 3: when they're hired next week, we're taking credit for it.
- 41:39Speaker 1: All right. So now we're gonna go to Illinois versus Yukon,
- 41:42Speaker 1: this is going to be a rubber band match. I
- 41:47Speaker 1: think both games are rubber band matches. I don't.
- 41:50Speaker 2: I don't think Michigan bet beat or played Arizona.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Yet.
- 41:56Speaker 3: You're just talking about bouncing back and forth, almost like
- 41:58Speaker 3: a volleyball or like a No.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Just the game itself, any any team's going to be
- 42:05Speaker 1: And how often do you see the number three versus
- 42:07Speaker 1: the number two?
- 42:08Speaker 2: Do you find the over under on Illinois a little
- 42:13Speaker 2: high that game?
- 42:14Speaker 5: Do you?
- 42:14Speaker 3: I see that one being a little lower, and I
- 42:18Speaker 3: moner defenses, and I see the Michigan.
- 42:21Speaker 2: One being higher. Yes, I think it should. I don't
- 42:27Speaker 2: know that's is it kind of toughy? But you know
- 42:30Speaker 2: both are one and a half points spreads. Illinois is
- 42:32Speaker 2: the favorite of.
- 42:34Speaker 4: One.
- 42:35Speaker 1: How weird is it that both are just one and
- 42:37Speaker 1: a half point spreads? Were we last week looking at
- 42:42Speaker 1: three and a half five and a half. Here's my concern,
- 42:47Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, It's time for Kenny's concern hour.
- 42:49Speaker 3: I believe the late game is the true national championship game.
- 42:53Speaker 3: It is my concern because I'm afraid that whoever they play.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Unless it's Arizona, that gets in and I can and
- 43:00Speaker 1: see Arizona blowing it.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Now you're gonna have to money up then. But their
- 43:03Speaker 2: guard play is so good.
- 43:05Speaker 3: They play such good defense offense, and that's what we
- 43:07Speaker 3: were I was won, Sean.
- 43:09Speaker 2: That was my question about coaching.
- 43:10Speaker 3: As we're talking about Arizona, Michigan, we're talking about Dusty May,
- 43:13Speaker 3: talking about Carolina, We're talking about Lloyd from Arizona going
- 43:16Speaker 3: North Carolina. Why would you would you leave any of
- 43:19Speaker 3: those four or four jobs for North Carolina.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Now, don't say there's one. I would Illinois, not me.
- 43:29Speaker 1: I would leave.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Connecticut, and but Illinois got Chicago.
- 43:32Speaker 1: That should be the mecca of basketball. We were just
- 43:35Speaker 1: talking Sean that the Bulls fans have the shittiest team.
- 43:38Speaker 2: They sell them out every year, doesn't matter, it's still
- 43:42Speaker 2: it's it's close.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Reruing is the issue with U con Their money only
- 43:48Speaker 1: goes into the men's and women's basketball. Well, that that's
- 43:51Speaker 1: a positive. That's why they're not gonna That's why I
- 43:54Speaker 1: can see the coach leaving the Illinois coach. I could
- 43:57Speaker 1: see him leaving to take the U and see because
- 44:00Speaker 1: Illinois's money is all over the place. It's it's basketball, baseball, football.
- 44:08Speaker 1: I don't remember they do wrestling.
- 44:09Speaker 3: I think Champagne, Illinois, by the way, but still it's
- 44:13Speaker 3: too far. No, that's your recruiting base because you go
- 44:18Speaker 3: because because of Chicago beings South.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Do you remember when the Bears had to play in
- 44:23Speaker 1: Champagne that line, do you remember when the Bears had
- 44:26Speaker 1: to play in Champagne?
- 44:27Speaker 2: Urry's lucky because they're there close the Bears.
- 44:31Speaker 1: The Bears fans hated to have to drive to Champagne.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I would hate to have to drive two hours
- 44:35Speaker 2: too for a game.
- 44:36Speaker 1: I don't think they're talking about moving to Indiana.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Well it's just two hours away. Well, that's y'all's ownership's idiocracy. No,
- 44:44Speaker 2: that is the That is not the fans.
- 44:46Speaker 1: Choosing the No, that is not the owners That is
- 44:49Speaker 1: the state and the city. That's the government, the government. Yeah.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Remember there's still.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Money, honey, and.
- 44:59Speaker 1: That's why I.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Know.
- 45:03Speaker 1: But it's it's but it's Indiana is offering them the
- 45:06Speaker 1: breaks that that that they need. They're not giving them
- 45:12Speaker 1: a complete sean.
- 45:13Speaker 2: You know, you kind of want to get into that
- 45:14Speaker 2: party talk for just a smidge. We used to be
- 45:17Speaker 2: not weet.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Let me back up, that party used to be the
- 45:19Speaker 3: ones of gifts a giving, and they've kind of turned
- 45:22Speaker 3: it because they're they're in shambles everywhere else. They can't
- 45:26Speaker 3: look like they're giving someone a freebie, right, like a
- 45:29Speaker 3: free one and unforgiven.
- 45:32Speaker 1: But what what the Bears are asking for is not
- 45:36Speaker 1: a break for the Bears. They're asking for a break
- 45:39Speaker 1: for the people that are working for the Bears to build,
- 45:42Speaker 1: the guys that are building the stadium. They're like, you
- 45:45Speaker 1: could charge us all you want. We just want the
- 45:47Speaker 1: contractors to have a break. And that's what Indiana is
- 45:52Speaker 1: willing to give, but not a complete break because it
- 45:55Speaker 1: comes back in a weird bill that they pass and say, okay,
- 45:59Speaker 1: well the Bears will paying.
- 46:00Speaker 2: That back late spring, early summer should be the decision.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Right, And I know that they do have more people
- 46:07Speaker 1: stumping from that on how we got on this Arlington Heights?
- 46:11Speaker 2: How far is that from?
- 46:12Speaker 3: It's it's right, it's it's right right by Chicago, Chicago,
- 46:15Speaker 3: and then him in Indiana.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Arlington Heights is the old racetrack and.
- 46:21Speaker 2: The Bears already owned already there you go, and they're one.
- 46:25Speaker 1: They want to turn it into a business district.
- 46:31Speaker 3: They want to put the stadium something new that I've
- 46:34Speaker 3: never heard of since I'm in city government, to a
- 46:37Speaker 3: pilot program payment and lieu of taxes. That's like the
- 46:44Speaker 3: artifs around here.
- 46:47Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 46:47Speaker 3: Get that anyway, back to that game in city, No,
- 46:51Speaker 3: but back, sorry, back to the final four. But I
- 46:54Speaker 3: am I'm a little I'm a little concerned that who
- 46:56Speaker 3: the night game is the championship?
- 46:58Speaker 1: Who do you who do you want? And who do
- 47:00Speaker 1: you believe is gonna win?
- 47:01Speaker 2: Who do I want? I want?
- 47:04Speaker 3: I want Arizona versus Illinois, and I want Illinois to
- 47:08Speaker 3: win it because I was really fond of Underwood and
- 47:11Speaker 3: how he coaches.
- 47:12Speaker 1: He's old school.
- 47:13Speaker 3: You look at his history, all the D one schools
- 47:16Speaker 3: he talks about. I'm just happy to be here. My
- 47:19Speaker 3: kids have worked their ass off. We worked hard, thinking
- 47:21Speaker 3: his wife for you know, raising his kids practically because
- 47:24Speaker 3: you know, he said, I'm driving across Kansas for D
- 47:28Speaker 3: two three stuff, you know, and there's.
- 47:31Speaker 2: No golden spoon for that guy. I'm rooting for him
- 47:34Speaker 2: to win.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Reality, I've got Michigan versus Illinois prematch and Michigan beats
- 47:43Speaker 3: them by double digits.
- 47:45Speaker 1: So what I want is Illinois Michigan. But what I'm
- 47:48Speaker 1: believing is Arizona Yukon. Okay, Okay, so yeah, opposite on it.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Let me write that down. So I had you you
- 47:56Speaker 1: wanted Yukon Arizona. Yes, yes, but you believe. And I
- 48:01Speaker 1: like Michigan Illinois.
- 48:03Speaker 5: I like that.
- 48:05Speaker 2: I like Tommy Lloyd. I really think he's a good coach.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Look at.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Look at Kitzakas dropped down a little bit. You know,
- 48:13Speaker 2: Lloyd was the he they called him, the real guy
- 48:16Speaker 2: that went overseas and found some gays or games.
- 48:21Speaker 1: That was a super bad. It wasn't Thailand, wasn't Where
- 48:31Speaker 1: did he which overseas?
- 48:33Speaker 3: Did?
- 48:33Speaker 6: Again?
- 48:36Speaker 2: Happy people, happy people?
- 48:38Speaker 1: All right? I wanted Illin. Everybody's happy when you give me.
- 48:42Speaker 3: I want an Illinois Zona, and I think we're gonna
- 48:44Speaker 3: get Illinois.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Michigan, right, I want Illinois Michigan. But I think we're
- 48:50Speaker 1: gonna get Yukon Zona. Okay, I thought, I thought.
- 48:55Speaker 2: You No, I just want to make sure I had
- 48:57Speaker 2: that right now. You're totally opposite of your once versus.
- 48:59Speaker 1: Your wit exactly exactly.
- 49:01Speaker 2: So I had one still in there. I think, I think,
- 49:03Speaker 2: I think the Yukon bubble bursts a little bit on
- 49:06Speaker 2: that bust.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Hey, is it almost been ten years old? Is case? Oh,
- 49:15Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, we celebrate every ten years here at
- 49:18Speaker 1: the Weast House with a new child. Shut up right,
- 49:23Speaker 1: it'll be six six? Oh whoa, whoa? Whoa? Is he
- 49:27Speaker 1: the double? All right? Update on the game tonight. There
- 49:31Speaker 1: is football going on, if you did not realize it.
- 49:34Speaker 1: On April the three, the DC de Venders are up
- 49:37Speaker 1: thirty eight to fourteen over the Columbus Aviators. Yes, UFL
- 49:41Speaker 1: has started baby UFL UFL.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Tomorrow's Gander Houston. Correct, they're Washington, DC.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I just said DCM.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Sorry, I'm sorry.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Tomorrow's seven PM game, which I kind of like the
- 49:59Speaker 1: way that they had. I didn't know there was gonna
- 50:01Speaker 1: be a Tuesday. I like the way they have this
- 50:03Speaker 1: later game so that way I can at least watch it.
- 50:06Speaker 1: You've got the Louisville Kings versus the Orlando Storm. And
- 50:10Speaker 1: there's that logo that I said, looks like a Gatorade
- 50:13Speaker 1: symbol Sunday five pm on NFL Network.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Now, hold on is what where's the storm at Orlando?
- 50:23Speaker 1: Okaya?
- 50:26Speaker 2: But I was listing, I was thinking about storm. You
- 50:28Speaker 2: had taught.
- 50:28Speaker 3: You'd said Seattle storm earlier, and that's the women's I
- 50:31Speaker 3: thought that's what you were talking about.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Oh no, the sun, oh Connecticut before here for this podcast.
- 50:38Speaker 1: No no, no, no no. Uh Birmingham Stallions with a
- 50:42Speaker 1: J mccern as a coach now no longer trying to
- 50:45Speaker 1: continue his quarterbacking career for the Cincinnati Bengals, while uh,
- 50:51Speaker 1: you know Joe Flacco and uh, hold on the ginger.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Who's the ginger he's on? He's in Philly. Now, Yeah,
- 51:04Speaker 1: he's gonna playes. He played at TCU. He's gonna be
- 51:07Speaker 1: the starter now he started at TCU.
- 51:08Speaker 2: He's gonna be the starter.
- 51:09Speaker 1: He was at the Panthers last year. Now he's what
- 51:12Speaker 1: is his name? He's like, he's gotta be Andy Dalton.
- 51:16Speaker 1: You're gonna be forty five. So Birmingham's Andy. Birmingham's Stallions
- 51:23Speaker 1: going against the Houston Gamblers Houston.
- 51:28Speaker 2: Houston nailed at thirty eight.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Houston did change their name this season. They changed from
- 51:34Speaker 1: the rough Necks to the Gamboys.
- 51:37Speaker 3: Wow, I guess he was gambling in Houston every day
- 51:40Speaker 3: with your life riving.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Then a Tuesday, rare Tuesday game on on Fox Sports One.
- 51:48Speaker 3: Rare six people's gonna watch this and the Tattlehawks versus
- 51:52Speaker 3: the Renegade.
- 51:53Speaker 2: The Renegades my main, my main, No.
- 51:58Speaker 1: But I'm gonna tell you right now, looking at this,
- 52:01Speaker 1: looking at the schedule, so Fox is playing the current
- 52:04Speaker 1: DC Defenders Aviators game and Fox Sports One will have
- 52:08Speaker 1: the Battlehawk's Renegades on Tuesday. Do you think that this
- 52:13Speaker 1: right here, this NFL network is a precursor to maybe
- 52:17Speaker 1: funding the NFL might be trying to help fund because
- 52:22Speaker 1: Sunday's game of the Stallions and Gamblers is going to
- 52:24Speaker 1: be if.
- 52:25Speaker 2: The NFL did help out on this.
- 52:26Speaker 1: And I think that I told you, I've been I've
- 52:28Speaker 1: been saying this for years that they need this league,
- 52:31Speaker 1: they need league.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Here's the deal.
- 52:34Speaker 3: What they needed to do, though, is they needed to
- 52:37Speaker 3: set it up in conjunction with current NFL teams and
- 52:39Speaker 3: their owners and then let them because not every one
- 52:42Speaker 3: of them is obviously no. No, and what some will
- 52:45Speaker 3: say it was, by God, we need football in other
- 52:47Speaker 3: parts of the town. If your town was cool enough,
- 52:49Speaker 3: you'd already have it. So city whatever, No city, I mean,
- 52:53Speaker 3: Orlando doesn't need a football team.
- 52:54Speaker 2: They're gonna have one. This year.
- 52:55Speaker 1: I agree with that.
- 52:57Speaker 2: I honestly kind of kind of set them up and
- 52:59Speaker 2: have conjoint shit or something.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Here's another place that does not need a team. That's
- 53:03Speaker 1: got two teams, Columbus Aviators.
- 53:09Speaker 2: Well they have hockey. They they've been so on that.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Think about where they are. You've got other two teams.
- 53:16Speaker 1: I get it. You got Cincinnati Bengals.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Ohio is not that cool.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Apparently it is. I keep going there, but we do.
- 53:28Speaker 1: And I would like to see a shift more towards
- 53:30Speaker 1: states that don't have I know they're small TV markets.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I don't agree that Oklahoma is a small TV market anymore.
- 53:38Speaker 1: I think they're a mid tier TV market. They are.
- 53:41Speaker 1: I don't think that they're as small as Arkansas, because
- 53:43Speaker 1: I do believe Arkansas is a small TV market. I
- 53:45Speaker 1: believe that Nebraska is a small TV market. It is
- 53:48Speaker 1: the Dakota's small TV market. Montana very very small, tiny.
- 53:53Speaker 1: I think there's thirty people that live in that state.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Idaho is growing. I think there they would be a
- 53:59Speaker 1: mid tier because there's a lot of people that live
- 54:01Speaker 1: in Boise and all that.
- 54:03Speaker 2: I would agree with that.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Yeah, Wyoming.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Mid tier, not even they're the smallest state in the
- 54:11Speaker 2: nation population wise, I believe.
- 54:15Speaker 1: There's like sixteen people that now.
- 54:17Speaker 2: I don't think that's but.
- 54:19Speaker 1: What I want to what I'm saying is, you know,
- 54:21Speaker 1: put these teams in these smaller market in these mid
- 54:23Speaker 1: tier markets, because these mid tier markets are starting to
- 54:27Speaker 1: build up.
- 54:27Speaker 2: What are you looking at overall population?
- 54:30Speaker 3: I mean, Oklahoma's got the twentieth most populated city in
- 54:32Speaker 3: Oklahoma City, and they've got the and they've.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Got the forty.
- 54:34Speaker 1: I'd rather see the team in Tulsa, though, because the trial.
- 54:37Speaker 2: I don't think you're gonna have that. I think forty
- 54:39Speaker 2: eight I think.
- 54:39Speaker 1: I think. Let me tether you this right now, saying
- 54:43Speaker 1: that Tulsa has going for him property, they have the
- 54:48Speaker 1: ability to and they're a bit cooler, and the fact
- 54:51Speaker 1: that we can still sustain a hockey team. I mean,
- 54:54Speaker 1: there's a lot of people that are talking about hockey
- 54:57Speaker 1: expansion and throwing Tulsa's name out there for it, which
- 55:01Speaker 1: is which is crazy.
- 55:03Speaker 3: But you have to look though, Sean, and you see
- 55:05Speaker 3: these percentage changes percentage Well, no, Oklahoma City is four
- 55:10Speaker 3: percent up and Tulsa is up. And I know it
- 55:13Speaker 3: doesn't sound like a lot, but Tulsa's up half a percent.
- 55:18Speaker 2: So, but you look at all the ones that are
- 55:20Speaker 2: losing Big Calf, Memphis, Baltimo, Baltimore, and.
- 55:27Speaker 1: Then nobody wants to be Nobody wants to be stabbed
- 55:32Speaker 1: Memphis and Baltimore, but nobody wants to.
- 55:34Speaker 2: Be Chicago, l A, New York City, all are losing population.
- 55:38Speaker 2: They're just damn big now.
- 55:40Speaker 3: And New York is a million people, Jesus, a lot
- 55:45Speaker 3: of damn people in that little area. I mean, yeah,
- 55:49Speaker 3: that's three million, but that's New York is almost triple
- 55:52Speaker 3: the size, triple people from l A people. I know,
- 55:57Speaker 3: it's crazy you run into somebody you know, but well, yeah,
- 56:03Speaker 3: I would agree. The market is I think the only
- 56:05Speaker 3: thing that we might be able to support. And I
- 56:07Speaker 3: argued Jeff on this to my brother, football is not
- 56:10Speaker 3: and zach to football is not viable in Oklahoma, especially
- 56:13Speaker 3: now we're losing all these old companies and we have folks,
- 56:16Speaker 3: we've lost.
- 56:16Speaker 2: Some people, big business. We're viable for maybe hockey because
- 56:20Speaker 2: you don't need the complete sponsorship and you look at
- 56:22Speaker 2: the contracts.
- 56:24Speaker 1: You need money.
- 56:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it ain't just fan based.
- 56:28Speaker 1: I don't completely agree with the football analysis games. I
- 56:36Speaker 1: believe that you put a UFL team and build it.
- 56:42Speaker 6: Oh, I just don't think that gets the high we're
- 56:44Speaker 6: we're not a professional hockey professional.
- 56:47Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely, very possible. Yes, baseball no iffy, even in
- 56:54Speaker 1: Oklahoma City is iffy. I'm just saying in the state total,
- 56:56Speaker 1: and you would have to do it the states did.
- 56:58Speaker 3: I was just talking to some of the other day
- 57:00Speaker 3: about Texas Stadium how great it is, because they was too.
- 57:04Speaker 1: They wised up and they were like, and we went
- 57:06Speaker 1: to somebody different. Yeah, it's in a dome.
- 57:08Speaker 3: It's because generational, we're mid forties, we're on the we're
- 57:14Speaker 3: on the fringe of a little bit below us really
- 57:17Speaker 3: didn't care about baseball, but everybody started above us does
- 57:21Speaker 3: and loves it well.
- 57:22Speaker 2: And it's too damn hot for you know, grandma and
- 57:24Speaker 2: grandpa to set out in Texas.
- 57:26Speaker 1: But also, but also there are the kids that are
- 57:28Speaker 1: below them that are starting to care about baseball. Now
- 57:31Speaker 1: there's a weird game.
- 57:33Speaker 2: It's weird.
- 57:34Speaker 1: There's a weird gap now. Currently women's final four Texas. Oh,
- 57:41Speaker 1: it's it's all after two periods. Oh god, Texas women
- 57:48Speaker 1: are at seventeen and UCLA women are at twenty I
- 57:52Speaker 1: you need not expect I figured a thirty forty.
- 57:55Speaker 3: Well you look at thirty seven at halftime in South
- 57:58Speaker 3: Carolina and Yukon finished at one twenty.
- 58:01Speaker 2: So it's gonna be quite the difference there.
- 58:04Speaker 1: Baseball season started. But I just said baseball season started.
- 58:09Speaker 2: They did, Oh, just because you saw your team won one,
- 58:12Speaker 2: which was a good win.
- 58:13Speaker 1: No, I'm just I'm just saying that the baseball season
- 58:15Speaker 1: has started. I don't know if we announced that last week.
- 58:19Speaker 1: U NBA and well, I'm keep it on basketball real quick, okay,
- 58:23Speaker 1: well in in the NBA, not that basketball.
- 58:26Speaker 2: It's keep it on college basketball, all right.
- 58:27Speaker 3: We were going to Tula, no shit, So I was
- 58:30Speaker 3: gonna say one thing you're missing, the biggest thing is
- 58:32Speaker 3: another team.
- 58:33Speaker 1: And then in the championship, shut your breath, shut your mout.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Did you not see my brain trying to.
- 58:39Speaker 3: Boot spin smoke and smell. Yes, I heard it, smelt it. Yes,
- 58:44Speaker 3: Tulsa the Hurricane currently thirty and seven. They'll play the
- 58:51Speaker 3: team I knew was gonna be the first place team.
- 58:53Speaker 1: On that y. Auburn was just right there. Auburn was,
- 58:56Speaker 1: Auburn was almost in.
- 58:57Speaker 3: Auburn was like, oh you they were just on the verge,
- 59:01Speaker 3: so they got to play in heinkle and tried to
- 59:05Speaker 3: blow it. I thought Tols ended up beating New Mexico,
- 59:07Speaker 3: which is a good New Mexico team, seventy four to six.
- 59:09Speaker 1: I don't think they tried to blow against New Mexicano.
- 59:11Speaker 2: No, it's just their lead.
- 59:13Speaker 1: I just think they tried to blow it against Wichita State.
- 59:16Speaker 2: Well, yeah they did that too.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Uh No, that was a weird game.
- 59:20Speaker 2: But didn't they win big in that one?
- 59:21Speaker 1: Though? At the end I think did they not go
- 59:23Speaker 1: to overtime? No, that was in the I don't know,
- 59:30Speaker 1: let me look at it.
- 59:31Speaker 2: We'll talk about.
- 59:32Speaker 3: So Eric Concole's got his team in the championship. They
- 59:36Speaker 3: played Thursday night. They're going to play excuse me, they're
- 59:41Speaker 3: going to play Sunday against Auburn. They'll get to go, yeah,
- 59:48Speaker 3: at the Indianapolis Stadium whatever they call it.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Yes, and Auburn for some reason, I can't say ROMR,
- 59:55Speaker 1: but Kenny can't say games.
- 59:56Speaker 2: I didn't even read it. I thought it was any
- 59:58Speaker 2: other state.
- 59:59Speaker 3: So this chan five and a half point favorites Auburn
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: is and they killed Illinois State, which Illinois State was
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: kind of a surprise team. They were the four seeds,
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: so they kept just kind of going through the tournament
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: and working it. So good for them, they'll get to
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: go watch the semi finals.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and it wasn't overtime, but it was witchital state
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: that Tulsa tried to blow it.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: They had that big ass lead.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: You're up fifty two to thirty six coming into the
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: second half, and you give up forty three to thirty one.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: So yeah, you really did try to blow that that one.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: That's that was the game that I that I thought
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: you were talking about.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: No, no, no, they did, they really, but they got
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: up so big on them and kind of got bored
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: with it too. And then you're kind of watching like.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Oh my god, here we go, here coming coming back?
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: All right, Steven Pearl's got his Auburn team, like I said,
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: was first four out and the yeah, Bruce Pearl's son,
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: he'll be gone in two years.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: And and see here here's a game that we have
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: a better spread on Auburn five and a half over
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: under one sixty and a half. They expect this to
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: be a fun game. I'm gonna go. Do you expect
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Tulsa to lose?
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna go I'm gonna go under, and I'm gonna
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: go Auburn. Events, So eighty and eighty. I mean, that's
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: eighty points apiece. That's kind of hot.
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: Well that's what I picked for our thing that I
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: don't known, but that's one hundred and sixty one hundred
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: and sixty four, you know what Mine was eighty eight total.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: So Hunter catches me and she said, you're a fool. Well,
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: I had Houston in the championship. So that game that
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Houston played before they lost, Houston only had like twenty
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: something points going into halftime or like, and I was
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: like a screenshot. I was like, I told you, this
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: is not that far fetch. Yeah, I was going very
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: heavy defense forty points each, yeah, well forty four to
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: forty and I and it was it's not going over.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: I just thought it would be closer and everyone would
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: go eighty and eighty a piece. I thought I would
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: get closer.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: By going anyways, match up Tulsa Auburn. I think Auburn wins.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: I really, really really hope Tulsa does win me too.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: Hey hey, hey, Conical, you're already looking for jobs. We
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: hear he already interviewed for Boston College.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: He really, why can't Tulsa pay? Why won't Why won't
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Tulsa pay? At this point, what are we what are
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: we trying to pay for?
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: But he's already looking. So if he's looking, those players
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: are looking.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: We're trying to keep our rowing team.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: You know when I used to and I didn't bitch
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: about that. He disappointed me a little bit in that one,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: because he's not got any connection to Boston College. He's
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: just it was the only big job he saw.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: But see where you're going, but completely understood.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: But it was more of the thing. It's like the
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: people that you win next year.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: If you win next year, we heard you from Louisiana
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: and you had a You went from Louisiana to Tulsa.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: You thought that was an upgrade, which it is. But
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: if you win next year, you're gonna have your choice
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: of a lot of damn jobs. Because he's never had.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: A winning record before at Tulsa since he's been there,
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: this is his first Oh.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: So he's just saying, this is the first time I'm going.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Now, Danny Manny did That's what I say.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Remember Danny one made it to the tournament his first
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: year at Tulsa and goes I'm gonna go to Wake
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: and suck, and he did, and his replacement has done well.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Sometimes it just doesn't work.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: And now, in what we call the crown Jewel of basketball,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: University of Oklahoma, I do believe trying to blow this
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: one against Colorado.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Okay, some of the nine Paul right there.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: I have found as I've gotten older, that basketball is
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: the most stressful sport to watch. It is because the lolls,
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: the highs, the lows. It's just it wears me. The
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: I mean, don't you know about third quarterfow he's probably
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: gonna win or not.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: You know what I mean. It's football.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: You watch basketball, they're at bout twenty and then at
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: the end of the fourth you're like, shit, half.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: Here's the deal. You've never been a Bears fan at
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: the beginning of a game or season to you're just
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: because you're a Buccaneers fan. You know, you go five hundred,
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: you're in the playoffs.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: The playoffs, not this year place, I'm hoping for it.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: But you've never been to watching their team just implode.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but you've won one. Mine hasn't won since like night.
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: I get it.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: I got to watch my team Wine. It was great though.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Blackhawks got to watch them win, Bulls watched them win.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: Oklahoma ninety, Colorado eighty six. Colorado is missing a really
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: good score too.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: They were He did not play in that game.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: And then you had Baylor in the nightcap. They beat Minnesota.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: We played Baylor.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Is it.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Saturday?
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: The next game? Oh?
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: Sorry?
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Yeah? So the next day for the Crown jewel you
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: have cent Ford, West Virginia virgen surprises in these I
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: don't even know why Craze is doing there. They have money,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: it's it's all no I know why they're there.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: I'm not sure why they were invited.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Is my point.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: And is the n T got more prestige than the Crown?
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Now? I thought the n I T always had more prestige.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: But I mean they're paying money, straight cash, five hundred thousand.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: The winner gets players get a piece of that. I know,
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: But I always thought that I get the prestige.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: But I'm talking. I was all about the money now
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: it is now. But I always thought that the n
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: I T was the number two, like if you weren't
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: good enough to get.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: There, that the n I T was No, I get it.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: But Oklahoma turned it down, and they figured.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: They wanted straight cash. Sure I would too, exactly. So
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: April fourth, twelve thirty pm on Fox, Oklahoma versus Baylor,
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: we have a twenty and fifteen Oklahoma versus seventeen and sixteen.
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: I've always thought through againning when I looked at it,
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: it's gonna be the top high seeds.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: Oklahoma West Virginia should match.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Was West Virginia high seed.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: I don't even get those were the two best teams
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: in there.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: Yes, but hey, this is everybody getting to hang out
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: in Vegas for.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: Like you damn right it, yes, and get paid because
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: because after you win one game, those players made money.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: And that and that is the reason why Oklahoma went there,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: to keep their players there and keep them in money. Correct.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: I'm gonna try to find though, No, no, no, I
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: was gonna see. I was gonna see how they did it,
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: because man, I wished I would have saved that because
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: it was pretty funny because five hundred thousand's total kneel
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: rule and then payouts are performance based, with fifty for quarterfinal,
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: hundred for semi final, three hundred for the champion.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: And I believe this mud have been not Oh you
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: as a team. I believe this might have been the
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: new GM along with Porter Mos. You're saying, this is
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: the way for us to get eighty well eighty whatever.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: I just this is the way for us to sure,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: this is the way for us to get money. We
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: know that we're better than a lot of these teams.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: This is the way for us to get the money
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: that we need to keep these kids here or bring
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: in on.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Hell, I don't blame I mean, you're playing more. The
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: gap was very long. I do think that was a
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: long gap entire month. But I kind of wonder if
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: that keeps some of them Portal kids there for a minute.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: I mean, you think about it, because they're not already.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: Hold on, it's next week. It's the day after the championship, whatever,
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: the day of the championship. It's that Monday, Yes, seventh,
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: It's Tuesday, Yes, April seventh. Yes, So that's when the
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: Porter officially or the Porter the portal officially.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: I got Porter on my mind. So those players get
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: a little money too.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's that I want to say. That's a
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: good thing for those kids, is to get the money
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: to say hey stay here. Well yeah, officially opens April seventh,
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: and and if you know how many players have made
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: their intentions clear all right, anything else, I honestly do not.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: The Bears lost too offensive linemen though this year, and
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: they're they're they're not. That's not good.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Didn't we bring them back? Center retired retired just recently?
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: Were we already picked those up? That was a long
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: time ago, dude, they were just new. They quit this year.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: You got you lost too offensive linemen retirement, you lost
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: your center and you lost to God.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: You're looking an old story.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: I don't think so, but go ahead.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: Bears athletic shirt. I was looking at it. Oh cool,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: I want one that's uh. I want one that's like that.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: Uh Roger State that I have that the wole one?
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: What about it?
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: I'm looking for Bears shirt and shirts. I like their shirts.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: I like the way they feel comfortable in my body. Uh, Chicago.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: I was looking at.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Let's just do a player update, the player up date.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: The reasonable now we did talk about so so. Drew
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Dollman announced his retirement on March third, mhmm, after just
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: one season with him. I knew that, and uh tuning.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: I don't let him go. I don't even think he
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: was still there.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: We just signed and maybe it was Domon I'm sorry.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Yeah, we got, we got, but he didn't any good.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: He's not that good.
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: Trust, but you had to get him because your other
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: center tired earlier this year.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: Well I got that. That's why we had gotten Brad Burs.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: I wasn't really worried about it. He's a season veteran.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: He only signed a three year contract.
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: Chicago Bears are now actually into the Tyreek Hill market.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: Please no, no, obviously incentive based contract. It's probably gonna
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: be cheap for a team.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Did you see that Beckham Junior is meeting with New York.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: Giants to do what I don't know, sign and retire.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: That's what he should.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: I don't remember he was.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: He was, he was with it for something. All right,
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: ladies and Double will be back next week, maybe a Thursday,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: maybe a Friday. I don't know what Kenny's got going
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: on with it.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: We'll definitely talk about he's got a bad work life balance.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: At the final four obviously will be done. We'll note,
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: we'll talk championship next week. We'll get into obviously basketball
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: portal will be huge, and it's gonna be big draft talks,
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: Draft talk tonight. But I'm telling you a race, Raiders. Raiders, listen,
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: when I say springball, I mean football. Consider trading. Hey,
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: one real quick thing I had on my notes. Congratulations
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: Kirk Cousins. Another big fatty deal the Raiders.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: About Kirk Cousins set men lens.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: And it's a guaranteed one. But actually when you look
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: at it, it's really fat to look at. But it's
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: only one year guaranteed, you know, but he always lands.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Raiders. Don't take Mendoza. Let him be your quarterback for
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: one year.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: They want to take Cousins. With Mendoza's I.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: Know this, don't draft him. I'm just telling you. Trade it,
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: trade it, trade it traded. I'll say it every week.
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: We'll see you next week.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: I would like to subscribe.
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: I love you
