- 0:00Speaker 1: Uh. People also reach out to us via email from
- 0:04Speaker 1: all over the world, all over the country and all
- 0:07Speaker 1: over the world. And I have here an email of
- 0:09Speaker 1: interest from another part of the country. Has it been
- 0:12Speaker 1: vetted to be of interest? Yes? It has all right,
- 0:17Speaker 1: email of intraz Did you say vetted or vetted? Vetted? Vetted? Vetted? Well,
- 0:26Speaker 1: it's have you vetted it? Yeah? How did you do that?
- 0:31Speaker 1: I went. I slept with it for a while, okay,
- 0:36Speaker 1: and then when I when I came to, I mean,
- 0:39Speaker 1: you fall asleep with your phone. Yeah, And then when
- 0:42Speaker 1: I came to it was fine. It says good morning,
- 0:46Speaker 1: lords morning. Listening this morning. Now, this is a couple
- 0:51Speaker 1: of weeks ago. I have to confess listening this morning
- 0:54Speaker 1: from Orange Beach, Alabama. Okay, here's a photo I took
- 0:58Speaker 1: yesterday of a great blue heron on the beach hanging
- 1:02Speaker 1: out with the fisherman at sunrise. Beautiful there it is
- 1:05Speaker 1: X ninety six dot com slash live. I thought you
- 1:09Speaker 1: guys might enjoy the picture. Don't tell anyone, but the
- 1:13Speaker 1: beaches in Alabama are some of the most beautiful you
- 1:16Speaker 1: will ever see. Bill. You're telling people, and you know,
- 1:19Speaker 1: I think that's interesting to me. Because you don't think
- 1:23Speaker 1: of Alabama. They want you to think of Alabama as
- 1:26Speaker 1: being a beach place, and that's probably why the beaches
- 1:29Speaker 1: are very nice. You just don't. You don't think of
- 1:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna go to Alabama for a beach vacation. Yeah,
- 1:34Speaker 1: but you gotta go to Alabama. Unfortunately, there are plenty
- 1:39Speaker 1: of people here that wear the Gulf of America hats.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I've been told that if you want to avoid the
- 1:46Speaker 1: weirdness the beach is where it's at, just stay out
- 1:49Speaker 1: of the trees, gaiters and maga. I there are gators
- 1:56Speaker 1: in the in the trees. I don't, I don't know.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Thank you for helping keeping me connected while I'm away
- 2:03Speaker 1: from home, which is quite often. I'm so thankful for
- 2:07Speaker 1: the podcast. You guys make my mornings even when I
- 2:11Speaker 1: am not there. Sincerely, Amanda. And then there's and then
- 2:18Speaker 1: there's more. There's a I don't know if you can
- 2:20Speaker 1: tell in that picture, I've got the one on my computer. Here,
- 2:24Speaker 1: there's two or three blue herons. Yeah, they're huge in
- 2:27Speaker 1: the back. Yeah. The time I saw blue herons the
- 2:31Speaker 1: most vividly was you remember when I went to the
- 2:36Speaker 1: bottom of the Grand Canyon and I went down to
- 2:39Speaker 1: there's a there's a Native American reservation down there, the
- 2:43Speaker 1: Havasupai people, and you could go to you have to
- 2:46Speaker 1: get a permit, and you go down there, and they
- 2:48Speaker 1: were on a camping area down at the bottom of
- 2:50Speaker 1: the Grand Canyon. And then you go on this hike
- 2:53Speaker 1: and you hike down this tributary river that eventually goes
- 2:58Speaker 1: to the Colorado and I guess it's Habasupy Creek or
- 3:02Speaker 1: river or something, but it's just like it's paradise. It's lush,
- 3:07Speaker 1: green on both sides, towering red rocks over you, and
- 3:12Speaker 1: as you and you walk a lot of the time
- 3:13Speaker 1: you're walking in the river and there are blue herons everywhere,
- 3:18Speaker 1: cool standing in the river fishing. It was just the
- 3:22Speaker 1: most amazing thing I'd ever seen.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Sketchy Blake says, Gulf Shores, Alabama has great beaches if
- 3:30Speaker 2: you can get over the sound of banjo's playing.
- 3:32Speaker 1: All the time. Yeah, banjos and beaches don't really. That
- 3:38Speaker 1: doesn't mix as far.
- 3:39Speaker 2: As and of course Mike and Nashville reminds us that
- 3:42Speaker 2: the Dave Matthews Band plays Orange Beach May twenty fifth.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Mike and Nashville would not have a life if it
- 3:51Speaker 1: weren't for Dave Matthews.
- 3:53Speaker 3: There's fishing there from the beach you can see that
- 3:56Speaker 3: big fishing pole, and there were people doing that when
- 3:59Speaker 3: I is in Hawaii recently on a very crowded beach,
- 4:03Speaker 3: which I think is not well, it's not very good fishing,
- 4:07Speaker 3: I'm sure.
- 4:08Speaker 1: But also.
- 4:10Speaker 3: What if you get you know, there's little kids fish
- 4:14Speaker 3: swimming and and you're casting out of you catch a kid,
- 4:19Speaker 3: you're that you're in the money.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Fish is one thing, but yeah, you catch yourself a kid. Yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 1: I got a I got a two year old the
- 4:25Speaker 1: other day.
- 4:26Speaker 3: And then there were people with the metal detectors. But
- 4:30Speaker 3: do people carry change anymore?
- 4:32Speaker 2: I mean, are you really finding much many coins?
- 4:36Speaker 1: It's it's it's pirate money looking for.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Now.
- 4:41Speaker 1: You find all kinds of stuff with not just coins,
- 4:45Speaker 1: like wedding rings, wedding rings, nails, nails, old nails, washers.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Do you want to find old rusty cans? You find
- 4:54Speaker 1: a lot of that. Just you know, any kind of
- 4:58Speaker 1: metal you will find.
- 5:00Speaker 3: And then what do you just I mean, you can't
- 5:02Speaker 3: turn it in for money?
- 5:04Speaker 1: Well? Usually, well why don't? Yeah, I mean you can Are.
- 5:07Speaker 3: You doing it just to find treasure or are.
- 5:09Speaker 2: You doing it because you think I'm meulnting it all
- 5:12Speaker 2: down to make money for my country?
- 5:15Speaker 1: That is my property. Now you're you're looking, you're looking
- 5:21Speaker 1: primarily for something valuable.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I don't remember the last time I had change in
- 5:25Speaker 3: my pocket. Do you remember the last time you had
- 5:29Speaker 3: like coins in your pocket?
- 5:31Speaker 1: It was when I was traveling in another country and
- 5:35Speaker 1: that you had their coins.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Now now i've been told by because I'm going to
- 5:40Speaker 3: Japan in a couple of weeks, I've been told that
- 5:42Speaker 3: they do a lot of cash, a lot.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Of cash, and you'll need coins for vending machines.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Too, which I would think Japan, being so technologically advanced,
- 5:51Speaker 3: they'd be all about the not having coins.
- 5:54Speaker 2: They are, but they're also mostly like small family owned businesses, yeah,
- 5:58Speaker 2: who don't want to pay that extra fee or you know,
- 6:01Speaker 2: you using visa.
- 6:03Speaker 1: So it's a lot of cash. Yeah, so they prefer cash.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I have a two one dollar bills in my wallet
- 6:10Speaker 1: right now that have probably been there four months.
- 6:13Speaker 2: They are they wet, No, they're not wet, not moist
- 6:20Speaker 2: in your pants.
- 6:21Speaker 1: No, they're in my back pocket where I don't have moisture.
- 6:25Speaker 1: No moisture back. I have no moisture coming out of
- 6:28Speaker 1: my back. It's unfortunate. Moisture is all in the front
- 6:31Speaker 1: with me, baby cheese. I got lots of moisture upfront,
- 6:35Speaker 1: none in the back. You can see a doctor for that.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I like it that way, believe me. Because I sit
- 6:41Speaker 1: a lot. I always thought it would be kind of
- 6:46Speaker 1: fun to have a metal detector, until I realized that
- 6:49Speaker 1: I'd have to walk around a lot.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Can I just remain seated with a.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Remote control one? Remote control metal detector?
- 6:57Speaker 3: Oh, you probably put one on a drone while you
- 7:00Speaker 3: probably could hover it over the sand.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I don't know if I've really ever never known anybody
- 7:07Speaker 1: who does that, So it's hard to say, but I
- 7:10Speaker 1: suppose people make interesting fines from time to It's like
- 7:14Speaker 1: magnet fishing. That's another thing that I think.
- 7:16Speaker 3: What is magnet fish?
- 7:19Speaker 1: You put a magnet on the end of a fishing
- 7:22Speaker 1: line and you toss it out and bits of metal
- 7:27Speaker 1: and stuff. Really people do that? Ye garbage, It's mainly
- 7:32Speaker 1: that's what people. They do it a lot. I think
- 7:34Speaker 1: there's a guy who's called here, Yeah, he's called here
- 7:36Speaker 1: a couple of times that they're cleaning up the Provo River,
- 7:40Speaker 1: and part of the way they do it was magnet fish.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I just thought that was like along the banks of
- 7:45Speaker 3: the river.
- 7:45Speaker 2: It's not too late to become a metal detector guy.
- 7:49Speaker 1: No, I know. Listen, listen, let's talk money now. Are
- 7:52Speaker 1: you ready? Let's do it here?
- 7:54Speaker 4: It goes. A lot of people do crypto.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I don't do that.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I don't do it people.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I'm old school.
- 8:00Speaker 4: I'm metal detect anybody else metal detectors, metal detective.
- 8:04Speaker 1: That's right, guys. Even though I'm.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Dressed for collecting cans, I'm a metal detector man. Where
- 8:10Speaker 4: are the other metal detector guys? Thank you, brother. Yeah,
- 8:14Speaker 4: it's mysterious, isn't it. Another treasure hunter in the room. Yes,
- 8:18Speaker 4: cans on stick on the ground.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Whew, whew.
- 8:23Speaker 4: I'm gonna give you guys a peek into the mysterious
- 8:25Speaker 4: world of metal detection.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Here it comes. Here's something you'll never hear.
- 8:29Speaker 4: A metal detector guy say, ready, Well, I better be
- 8:33Speaker 4: getting home.
- 8:33Speaker 1: She's probably worried about me. You know, there is no
- 8:38Speaker 1: home and there is no she.
- 8:42Speaker 4: You just keep going and going and going till the
- 8:45Speaker 4: battery dies.
