Speaker 3: the final, the final regularly scheduled Live on the Levee
• 1:48
Speaker 3: happening tonight. Had ed Riverfront Park, but there may be
• 1:52
Speaker 3: some wiggle room in there. Jim Strawn is going to
• 1:54
Speaker 3: join us to talk about that, coming up a little
• 1:56
Speaker 3: bit later on. One thing I can tell you is
• 1:58
Speaker 3: the weather is going to be absolutely fantastic. You know,
• 2:01
Speaker 3: there's still the chances of rain I think this morning,
• 2:03
Speaker 3: but after that lower humidity is going to be a
• 2:05
Speaker 3: great night for live on the Levee tonight. Of course
• 2:07
Speaker 3: tomorrow the Taste of Nitro is going on. We talked
• 2:10
Speaker 3: about that yesterday with Joe Stevens on the show. So
• 2:13
Speaker 3: get out there and enjoy some activities this week. We'll
• 2:15
Speaker 3: talk to Jim Strong though about Live on the Levee.
• 2:17
Speaker 3: Also delicate Hollis Lewis is going to stop by this

• 2:32
Speaker 3: of course we'll get into some things going on at
• 2:33
Speaker 3: the news. The big news here locally yesterday, and we
• 2:38
Speaker 3: talked about on Metro News midday yesterday that this unfortunate
• 2:42
Speaker 3: event that in this lead story this morning wv Metronews
• 2:46
Speaker 3: dot com happening with a bailiff within the Kenawa County
• 2:48
Speaker 3: Sheriff's Department. That bailiff has been fired and is sitting
• 2:51
Speaker 3: in jail now at South Central, And we'll talk about
• 2:54
Speaker 3: that coming up a little bit later on. Let me
• 2:56
Speaker 3: bring in our good buddy though it's Friday, which means
• 2:58
Speaker 3: we talked to Angie Gillen from the Ganallala Charleston Humane
• 3:01
Speaker 3: Association with this week's Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week. Angie,
• 3:04
Speaker 3: Good morning, welcome to the show, and happy Friday.
• 3:07
Speaker 5: Good morning and happy Friday, and.
• 3:09
Speaker 3: As always our pet of the week's photo posted on
• 3:12
Speaker 3: my social media it's Dave Allen Radio on Facebook and
• 3:15
Speaker 3: at Dave A seventy one X. Tell us about the
• 3:17
Speaker 3: cat known as Midnight's.
• 3:21
Speaker 5: So, Midnight is literally about two pounds of just buzz
• 3:26
Speaker 5: and hair. Midnight is, like I said, two pounds, two
• 3:30
Speaker 5: months old. He's already been neutered. And the exciting news
• 3:34
Speaker 5: is Midnight is one of mini cats that we have
• 3:38
Speaker 5: moved into the Tay's Valley pet Co, into those pet
• 3:41
  Speaker 5: Co penthouses.
• 3:42
Speaker 3: The pet coo penhouses. And I've got a special place
• 3:45
Speaker 3: in my heart, as you know, for cats. But also
• 3:48
Speaker 3: the last cat that my wife and I had two
• 3:52
Speaker 3: now with the one we had for a number of
• 3:54
Speaker 3: years that we had to have put down was a
• 3:55
Speaker 3: black cat named Midnight. So I don't have to ask you,
• 3:59
Speaker 3: o Ryan, for nextlanation of what that name means. I
• 4:02
  Speaker 3: know about Midnight, what's Midnight's story. I know that he's
• 4:06
Speaker 3: as you said, he's living it up right now and
• 4:08
Speaker 3: the Petco penhouse at Tays Valley location of petcoll But
• 4:12
  Speaker 3: what's the story.
• 4:14
Speaker 5: He actually came in as astray with another sibling and
• 4:18
Speaker 5: no mommy cat or anything like that. So just a
• 4:22
Speaker 5: straight hitting orphan that needed somewhere to go and grow
• 4:25
Speaker 5: big and strong to be available for an option.
• 4:28
Speaker 3: And he's a beautiful cat. Now you said he is
• 4:31
Speaker 3: newtered is he vaccinated as well? I didn't catch that.
• 4:34
Speaker 5: He is as up to date on vaccines as we
• 4:36
Speaker 5: can get him. He's still a little young to have
• 4:38
Speaker 5: a rabies vaccine, so if you do decide to take
• 4:40
Speaker 5: Midnight Homekeeper in mind, you'll have to do that at
• 4:43
Speaker 5: three months old. But right now he's fully vaccinated as
• 4:47
  Speaker 5: he can.
• 4:47
Speaker 3: Be for two months old. But you have to have
• 4:49
Speaker 3: another round when he turns three months old. Three months old.
• 4:53
Speaker 3: Let's talk about one of your big events coming up.
• 4:55
Speaker 3: He went Kegs for Canines on the way.
• 4:58
Speaker 5: Kegs for Canones is coming up literally next week, and
• 5:03
Speaker 5: that would be four to seven pm at the Red
• 5:05
Speaker 5: Carpet Lounge. And if you are interested in drinking beer,
• 5:10
Speaker 5: petting dogs and raising money for a good cause, this
• 5:13
Speaker 5: is the event for you. It's much more relaxed than
• 5:16
Speaker 5: Texas and Tails, and you can honestly buy tickets up
• 5:21
Speaker 5: until the day of the event, Like you can show
• 5:23
Speaker 5: up at Red Carpet and say you want to come
• 5:24
Speaker 5: in for kegs and we will let you in.
• 5:27
Speaker 3: It's a great event, and I have an opportunity last year.
• 5:30
Speaker 3: Steve Animal and I were there last year for the event,
• 5:33
Speaker 3: and it's a great event. As you said, it's very,
• 5:35
Speaker 3: very laid back. It said one of the best places
• 5:37
Speaker 3: in Charleston to have events like add over the Red
• 5:39
Speaker 3: Carpet Lounge and those folks A big shout out to
• 5:41
Speaker 3: those folks for turning over their property for the day
• 5:43
Speaker 3: so you can have a few drinks and maybe grab
• 5:46
Speaker 3: something to eat, and maybe adopt a pet. We told
• 5:49
Speaker 3: you the story once before about our good buddy Mark,
• 5:51
Speaker 3: friend of the program, who adopted a dog named Miller
• 5:56
Speaker 3: last year at that event. And I was at an
• 5:59
Speaker 3: event with the a couple of weeks ago and I
• 6:01
Speaker 3: got a chance to ask him about Miller. Miller. Miller
• 6:03
Speaker 3: was taken from that event and he's doing fine.
• 6:05
Speaker 5: Goh yeah, I am so happy to hear that. I
• 6:08
Speaker 5: actually got to see Miller at another event we did
• 6:11
Speaker 5: and got like a little update on him in between
• 6:14
Speaker 5: the last time we talked about Miller, So I am yeah,
• 6:17
Speaker 5: I'm very happy to hear that. And he has grown
• 6:19
Speaker 5: into such a beautiful dog because he was just a
• 6:21
Speaker 5: little puppy when he was Oh.
• 6:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he's a beautiful dog. We're talking to Angie
• 6:24
Speaker 3: Gillenwater our weekly check in with the folks of the
• 6:27
Speaker 3: Canalled Charleston, New Maine Association. But Dave Allen showing five
• 6:29
Speaker 3: Andy Live is brought to part by Morgan and Morgan,
• 6:31
Speaker 3: America's largest injury law firm. Let's talk about numbers at
• 6:34
  Speaker 3: the shelters.
• 6:36
Speaker 5: So numbers are becoming a little bit more manageable. We
• 6:39
Speaker 5: are at least not breaking five hundred anymore. We're born
• 6:43
Speaker 5: into like the four to fifty range, So still crowded,
• 6:47
Speaker 5: still need to more wiggle room with adult dogs and cats,
• 6:50
Speaker 5: but a lot better than we have been. And we
• 6:53
Speaker 5: actually have an adoption special right now where you can
• 6:56
Speaker 5: come to the shelter and spend our wheel of fortune
• 6:59
Speaker 5: if you will, you spin a whee that determines your
• 7:02
Speaker 5: adoption fee, and that is for adult dogs that are
• 7:06
  Speaker 5: already stayed.
• 7:06
Speaker 3: And utered, and you got some great looking animals. As
• 7:11
Speaker 3: I do every Thursday night preparing for the show, I
• 7:13
Speaker 3: always so you go over your social media pages and
• 7:16
Speaker 3: you just you got some great looking animals right now.
• 7:19
Speaker 3: And it doesn't matter what if you want an older dog,
• 7:22
Speaker 3: you want a younger dog, you want a puppy with cats,
• 7:24
Speaker 3: you want a cat full grown, or you want a
• 7:26
Speaker 3: kitten or whatever. You pretty much got whatever anybody would
• 7:29
Speaker 3: want up there. All as they say in the car business,
• 7:31
Speaker 3: as you all makes and all models ready to.
• 7:34
Speaker 5: Go, absolutely there are some things everybody's type is at
• 7:38
Speaker 5: the shelter right now. I can promise you that what.
• 7:41
Speaker 3: Are you currently in need of? As far as donations,
• 7:43
Speaker 3: I know there's some things we talk about every week
• 7:45
Speaker 3: that you need. You're always looking for towels and newspapers
• 7:48
Speaker 3: and things like that. What else can people help out with?
• 7:51
Speaker 5: So the things right now that are running extremely low
• 7:54
Speaker 5: are newspaper and Purina dog chowl along with wet dog food.
• 8:00
Speaker 5: So those are the three big ones that we are
• 8:02
Speaker 5: running very low on right now. Any pet supplies, any
• 8:06
Speaker 5: type of monetary checks anything like that are also super helpful.
• 8:10
Speaker 3: You have any events going on this weekend.
• 8:13
Speaker 5: We're actually going to be in Dunbar at a back
• 8:16
Speaker 5: to school event tomorrow. Meet and seth. We'll be there
• 8:19
Speaker 5: if you want to stop by and say hi with
• 8:20
Speaker 5: some adoptable puppies and hopefully some kittens.
• 8:23
Speaker 3: And where is that going to be in Dunbar?
• 8:27
Speaker 5: I you know I have have to look at that.
• 8:30
  Speaker 5: I'm not you haven't been.
• 8:32
Speaker 3: You haven't been told where to be yet? Is that
• 8:34
  Speaker 3: what you're saying?
• 8:36
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I just know it is a Dunbar back
• 8:39
  Speaker 5: to school event.
• 8:40
Speaker 3: All right, Dunbar back to school event. We'll try to
• 8:42
Speaker 3: see if we can find out something about that to
• 8:44
Speaker 3: let people know where you're going to be tomorrow exactly
• 8:46
Speaker 3: and what time will you be there? What's the time frame?
• 8:49
Speaker 5: So we'll be there from twelve to three, all.
• 8:51
Speaker 3: Right, twelve to three somewhere in Dunbar tomorrow. We'll find
• 8:53
Speaker 3: out where it is for you and you'll have different
• 8:56
  Speaker 3: pets available there.
• 8:57
Speaker 5: I take it, ram, yep, yes, we will different pets
• 9:00
Speaker 5: available for adoption. If you can't adopt and just want
• 9:02
Speaker 5: some puffy love, we're there for that too.
• 9:05
Speaker 3: And the weather's going to be great. I was talking
• 9:06
Speaker 3: about that at the top of the show. I mean,
• 9:08
Speaker 3: we've suffered with this heat and humidity and severe weather,
• 9:12
Speaker 3: you know, it seems like every day, but things are
• 9:14
Speaker 3: starting to look up. We're gonna have a really, really
• 9:16
Speaker 3: nice weekend being a great opportunity for folks to come
• 9:18
Speaker 3: out there and join you in Done Bar tomorrow. Talk
• 9:21
Speaker 3: about the need as we always I like to talk
• 9:23
Speaker 3: about this every week, talk about your need for fosters
• 9:25
Speaker 3: and people just to come volunteer at the shelter.
• 9:29
Speaker 5: So it's number one. It helps with our animal stress levels.
• 9:33
Speaker 5: That is a big thing, is to just get them out,
• 9:35
Speaker 5: even for just today. And our friends at Ellen's Homemade
• 9:38
Speaker 5: ice Cream have recognized that need and have started offering
• 9:43
Speaker 5: free pub cups if you participate in our what we
• 9:46
Speaker 5: call Borrow a Buddy program. It's literally just taking the
• 9:50
Speaker 5: dog out for the day and you return them at
• 9:53
Speaker 5: the end of the day. You can take them to Ellen's,
• 9:55
Speaker 5: get a free pub cup, walk the bowl of art,
• 9:57
Speaker 5: you know, whatever you want to do during the day
• 10:00
Speaker 5: is pet friendly, and then you bring them back and
• 10:04
Speaker 5: I'm telling you, the dogs never have had a nicer
• 10:07
Speaker 5: sleep than when they come back from the Borrow Buddy
• 10:10
  Speaker 5: day trips.
• 10:11
  Speaker 3: I love it.
• 10:12
Speaker 5: Yeah, just it really helps our pets and it also
• 10:14
Speaker 5: helps our staff at the shelter promote them for adopters.
• 10:18
Speaker 3: And we're just you know, a couple of weeks away.
• 10:20
Speaker 3: It's been on where you live from school starting, and
• 10:22
Speaker 3: we will remind parents and grandparents and teachers and so
• 10:24
Speaker 3: on and so forth that if those kids need community
• 10:27
Speaker 3: service hours, because it's required to graduate in West Virginia schools,
• 10:30
Speaker 3: you'd be glad to work with them on that.
• 10:32
  Speaker 6: Oh.
• 10:33
Speaker 5: I would absolutely love to help whoever achieve their community
• 10:36
Speaker 5: service hours. Come see us for sure.
• 10:39
Speaker 3: All right, Hey, Angie, we'll look for you somewhere and
• 10:41
Speaker 3: Dunbar tomorrow between noon and three. I appreciate you being
• 10:44
Speaker 3: here and we'll talk next week because we want to
• 10:47
Speaker 3: go full on throughout the week. We'll be promoting Kegs
• 10:50
Speaker 3: for cane IDEs, which is happening next Saturday over the
• 10:52
Speaker 3: Red Carpet Lounge. Appreciate you being here and we'll talk soon.
• 10:56
  Speaker 3: Thanks a lot.
• 10:57
Speaker 5: Sounds great, Have a good one.
• 10:58
  Speaker 7: All right.
• 10:59
Speaker 3: It's Angie Gill from the Kenaw Charles Newman Association with
• 11:02
Speaker 3: this week's adopt Me. Please put it the week again.
• 11:04
Speaker 3: Kegs for Canines is happening next Saturday at the Red
• 11:06
Speaker 3: Carpet Lounge. Will be over there. I hope to see
• 11:08
Speaker 3: you there as well. Let's review all right. Midnight is
• 11:13
Speaker 3: a two month old male cat. He's neutered, ready to
• 11:17
Speaker 3: go home. He's already had one round of vaccinations, but
• 11:19
Speaker 3: because of his age two months old, they can't do
• 11:21
Speaker 3: the big one, the rabies vaccine, until he is three
• 11:24
Speaker 3: months old, so you will have to take care of that.
• 11:26
Speaker 3: And I've got his pictures always I do every week
• 11:29
Speaker 3: posted on my social media. It's Dave Allen Radio on
• 11:31
Speaker 3: Facebook or at Dave a seventy on x and he's
• 11:33
Speaker 3: currently a resident of the Petco penhouses at the Petco
• 11:37
Speaker 3: in Tays Valley there at Liberty Square, just off the exit.
• 11:40
Speaker 3: If you're coming I sixty four, get off the Tay's
• 11:42
Speaker 3: Valley exit, hang a ride. It's over in the applaza
• 11:45
Speaker 3: there where Applebe's and Bob Evans and everything is next
• 11:47
Speaker 3: to Aldie. So cruise on over there and take a
• 11:50
Speaker 3: look at Midnight, beautiful beautiful cat. As I said, I've
• 11:53
Speaker 3: kind of got a special place in my heart for
• 11:55
Speaker 3: a black cat's name Midnight, because my wife and I
• 11:57
Speaker 3: had a black cat named Midnight that we had to
• 11:59
  Speaker 3: have a down about it's almost I guess it's almost
• 12:02
Speaker 3: two years or so now. But a beautiful cat. Take
• 12:05
Speaker 3: a look at this picture over on Dave Island Radio
• 12:07
Speaker 3: on Facebook and at Dave A seventy on x text
• 12:12
Speaker 3: says Midnight looks like a baby. How old is He's
• 12:14
Speaker 3: two months old? And it's his sibling still available for adoption.
• 12:18
Speaker 3: Sad to think of them? Operator, I don't know, and
• 12:20
Speaker 3: I don't know. I have to have to reach out
• 12:22
Speaker 3: to Angie about that. They did come in. Astray said,
• 12:24
Speaker 3: you can imagine how little they were when they came in.
• 12:27
Speaker 3: He and a sibling. I'll find out if the other
• 12:30
Speaker 3: one is available as well. Texas seen on different Facebook pages,
• 12:35
Speaker 3: the increase of poor dogs and cats being dumped all
• 12:38
Speaker 3: across the state. What's it going to take for this
• 12:40
Speaker 3: to stop? I mean, I don't know how you fix it,
• 12:44
Speaker 3: you know, and just let you know what just goes
• 12:47
Speaker 3: on everywhere. I follow a lot of radio stations being
• 12:50
Speaker 3: a radio geek all over the nation, and there's a
• 12:54
Speaker 3: radio station that I'm aware of in Grundy, Virginia that
• 12:58
Speaker 3: this morning when the morning guy got there to open
• 13:00
Speaker 3: things up, was greeted with a box of kittens and
• 13:04
Speaker 3: he's trying to give away kittens on the air. That
• 13:07
Speaker 3: was at at one of the radio stations in the Grundy, Virginuary.
• 13:11
Speaker 3: So it does indeed happen everywhere. But Dave Allen Show

  Speaker 10: I have not.
• 15:35
Speaker 3: The whole series is trolling Texas Republicans are pretty much
• 15:38
Speaker 3: everything Texas stands for. It's outstanding, not to mention the
• 15:42
Speaker 3: ladies are really easy on the eyes. Bravo Netflix, I
• 15:45
Speaker 3: have I've not heard of that. But you're talking to
• 15:47
Speaker 3: a guy that watches almost no television unless it's news,
• 15:51
Speaker 3: unless it's some sort of a you know, rerunning of
• 15:53
Speaker 3: Caddyshack or Animal House or The Blues Brothers, or of
• 15:56
Speaker 3: course the NFL, which is back pre season last night,
• 15:59
Speaker 3: The Charge and Detroit. I know it's preseason, but it's
• 16:02
Speaker 3: still football, so I was watching some of that last night,
• 16:05
Speaker 3: in addition to watching tvt Best Virginia, of course falling

Speaker 3: speaking to people that have had great runs, Jim Strown.
• 16:14
Speaker 11: Top of the Morning to you, Dave, how are you,
• 16:15
  Speaker 11: my friend?
• 16:16
Speaker 3: Fine, buddy? How's it going with you?
• 16:17
Speaker 11: I'm really, really, really good. I'm really good, probably the
• 16:20
Speaker 11: best I've ever been. I was at the game last
• 16:21
Speaker 11: night for TBT, and as you just said, great run.
• 16:25
Speaker 11: We played five games. You give me this team next year,
• 16:29
Speaker 11: and I think we're already thinking about it trying to
• 16:31
Speaker 11: keep that team assembled. Coach West did a great job.
• 16:34
Speaker 11: I was honored to be with them. I guess Wednesday
• 16:36
Speaker 11: night we were able to feed the team at Fazio,
• 16:39
Speaker 11: so I got the gnomes, sit down with them, and
• 16:41
Speaker 11: I like their chemistry. I like them. You give me
• 16:43
Speaker 11: this team next year. I think we'll make another deep run.
• 16:46
  Speaker 11: I'm a little I'm a little shocked in a way.
• 16:48
Speaker 11: I thought we were gonna win it after we won
• 16:50
Speaker 11: the other night. We're just as good as anybody in
• 16:51
Speaker 11: the nation right now. So that was a lot of
• 16:53
  Speaker 11: fun to It's.
• 16:54
Speaker 3: One of those things that if you played let's say
• 16:57
Speaker 3: two games instead of one, the best Virginia may have
• 16:59
Speaker 3: won the next and then we would be waiting week.
• 17:01
Speaker 11: So we had a tough third quarter, just the shots
• 17:03
  Speaker 11: didn't go down.
• 17:03
  Speaker 3: We had him.
• 17:04
Speaker 11: You know, that's the way it goes. The other team
• 17:06
Speaker 11: obviously a very good, very skilled I kind of hope
• 17:09
Speaker 11: they win it all now, but boy, we were right there,
• 17:12
Speaker 11: proud of the best Virginia. Great run and the congratulations
• 17:15
Speaker 11: Coach West and the entire team. It was Boy, it
• 17:18
Speaker 11: was great for the coliseum, It was great for the city.
• 17:20
Speaker 11: This town was fun.
• 17:21
Speaker 3: Oh yeah. And look, if you're a basketball junkie, I
• 17:25
Speaker 3: like basketball, but I'm a baseball football guy. But I
• 17:28
Speaker 3: will say, if you're a basketball person, to have in
• 17:31
Speaker 3: the heat of summer, when it's one hundred and eighty
• 17:32
Speaker 3: eight degrees outside, to be able to be talking basketball
• 17:35
Speaker 3: at the end of July into early August, that's pretty
• 17:38
Speaker 3: cool stuff. I'm gonna ask you real quick. You mentioned
• 17:39
Speaker 3: PHASEOS and then yeah, and of course, yeah, are things
• 17:42
Speaker 3: going to PHASEOS right now?
• 17:43
Speaker 11: You know what it's it's still it's still numbing in
• 17:48
Speaker 11: a way. And if you're not if you don't know
• 17:51
Speaker 11: what we're talking about our good friend Doug scaff Junior,
• 17:55
Speaker 11: tragically killed on June the tenth, and he had just
• 18:00
Speaker 11: put together an investment group and we closed on that
• 18:03
Speaker 11: May the twelfth, so he, you know, just a month
• 18:06
Speaker 11: or so. But I talked to his father a lot.
• 18:09
  Speaker 11: I talked of the Synthday a lot. I'm going a
• 18:12
Speaker 11: lot more than I did there For a few weeks,
• 18:14
  Speaker 11: I couldn't go in, Dave, I didn't go in, right,
• 18:16
Speaker 11: I understood, and I'm going in now. And just so
• 18:20
Speaker 11: you know, we're doing very, very well. The team is assembled,
• 18:24
Speaker 11: The weight staff and servers are just impeccable with their service.
• 18:30
Speaker 11: I'm hearing that the food is as good as it's
• 18:34
Speaker 11: it's ever ever, ever, ever been. There's a good vibe
• 18:38
Speaker 11: in the restaurant. It feels good to go in, and
• 18:41
Speaker 11: people are coming in droves and really really enjoying it.
• 18:46
Speaker 11: You know, dinner five to nine Tuesday through Saturday. We're
• 18:50
Speaker 11: not overdoing it. We haven't expanded the hours just yet.
• 18:54
Speaker 11: Doug's vision was to do that. I hope, I hope
• 18:57
Speaker 11: we entertain his vision and do that. I hope we
• 19:00
Speaker 11: do open on Sundays eventually and put a lounge in
• 19:03
Speaker 11: like he wanted to do. But right now it's business
• 19:06
Speaker 11: as usual and quite frankly, people are coming and they're
• 19:10
Speaker 11: enjoying it. So thanks for asking.

• 19:30
Speaker 11: six of the Moses Outer Group Live on the Levee.
• 19:32
Speaker 11: And just when you thought tonight might be the last
• 19:34
Speaker 11: one day? Did you think tonight was the last one?
• 19:37
Speaker 3: Well, you know you hearing anything, you know, you know.
• 19:39
Speaker 11: I'm going to break it right now if you want
• 19:40
  Speaker 11: me to.
• 19:40
Speaker 3: Sorry, breaking breaking news, breaking news, what do you got?
• 19:44
Speaker 11: Yeah, the city now is yesterday. We've been working on this.
• 19:46
Speaker 11: You know, we've had some rain outs this year. So
• 19:48
Speaker 11: we're going to have a makeup live on the levee
• 19:50
Speaker 11: three weeks from today Friday August to twenty second August
• 19:55
Speaker 11: to twenty second, folks, circle your calendar. That will be
• 19:58
Speaker 11: the final live on the levee. The car Arp and
• 20:00
Speaker 11: Durance will play at six, and we're going to bring
• 20:02
Speaker 11: back the Charlie West All Stars who did not get
• 20:05
Speaker 11: a chance to play about a month ago because of
• 20:07
Speaker 11: lightning all around us. Our buddy Joey Simonton got to
• 20:11
Speaker 11: play and do the Phil Collins thing from six to seven,
• 20:14
Speaker 11: and right at seven o'clock when he got done, lightning
• 20:16
Speaker 11: struck and it kept coming. And much like a golf tournament,
• 20:19
Speaker 11: every time there's lightning, you gotta wait at least thirty
• 20:21
Speaker 11: minutes and it would not go away. So the Charlie
• 20:23
Speaker 11: West All Stars did not get to play that night,
• 20:26
Speaker 11: but we're going to welcome them back on August to
• 20:28
Speaker 11: twenty second. So I'll be back. Unfortunately for you, I'll
• 20:31
Speaker 11: be back in three weeks and we'll talk more about
• 20:34
Speaker 11: that then. But tonight, all right, tonight you are going
• 20:38
Speaker 11: to have me back.
• 20:39
  Speaker 12: Right?
• 20:40
Speaker 3: Oh no, no, your contract is over. The contract is over.
• 20:42
Speaker 11: Oh by the way, welcome to August.
• 20:44
Speaker 3: Right, yeah, here we are, August twenty twenty five.
• 20:46
Speaker 11: Acts like it's got to be somewhere soon, right, it's
• 20:49
Speaker 11: going pretty quick. But tonight six o'clock it's a back
• 20:53
Speaker 11: to school night, so we're catering to the children. Catering
• 20:56
Speaker 11: to the kids. The city's done an amazing job assembling
• 20:59
Speaker 11: a lot lot of cool things for the kids, fun games, resources, supplies, treats.
• 21:06
Speaker 11: There might be some backpacks. I'm sure there'll be pens
• 21:09
Speaker 11: and pencils and different notebooks and different things for the kids.
• 21:13
Speaker 11: A lot of vendors will be down there. It should
• 21:15
Speaker 11: be a pretty special night for the family. So moms
• 21:18
Speaker 11: and dads, guardians, aunts, uncles, grandparents, bring your children down
• 21:22
Speaker 11: and oh, by the way, while you're hanging out down there,
• 21:25
Speaker 11: back to school and letting your kids go around to
• 21:27
Speaker 11: all these vendors, there's going to be some really cool
• 21:30
Speaker 11: music breaking out. About six o'clock. We have Sneezy. I
• 21:32
Speaker 11: love the name Sneeze. I haven't seen them yet, but
• 21:34
Speaker 11: I've listened to them a little bit. Sneezy will take
• 21:38
Speaker 11: center stage right at six o'clock. They do a blend,
• 21:41
Speaker 11: they do a little pop, they do a little reggae,
• 21:44
Speaker 11: they do a little hip hop, they do a little rock,
• 21:46
Speaker 11: and it all comes together with a really groovy vibe
• 21:49
Speaker 11: and it's really fun. You dance a little bit to them.
• 21:52
Speaker 11: I like to hear them. I haven't seen them live yet,
• 21:54
Speaker 11: so they describe it as electrifying infusion. I can't wait
• 21:59
Speaker 11: for Sneezy to take center stage. At six o'clock. We'll
• 22:02
Speaker 11: do a little break. At seven, we'll thank our vendors,
• 22:04
Speaker 11: will throw out some T shirts. East Coast t S
• 22:07
Speaker 11: T shirts by the way, and then it's seven crap,
• 22:10
  Speaker 11: Yeah that.
• 22:12
Speaker 3: Steve Z listening animal own an operator by Steve Animals.
• 22:15
Speaker 3: I'm throwing that out.
• 22:16
Speaker 11: We love him, we love him, we love him, seven thirty.
• 22:19
Speaker 11: I have welcomed them and introduced them to the Levee stage.
• 22:22
Speaker 11: It might have been eight or nine, it could have
• 22:24
Speaker 11: been ten years ago. But they're back and they're big.
• 22:27
  Speaker 11: They're they've gone national. Owner n a from the town
• 22:31
Speaker 11: of They're awesome, I mean alternative rocko. So this is
• 22:35
Speaker 11: their last local performance. They're hitting a national tour day
• 22:39
Speaker 11: mid August. They're going national in about two weeks, so
• 22:42
Speaker 11: this is the last chance to see Umnless. You want
• 22:44
Speaker 11: to travel with them and be a groupie as they
• 22:46
Speaker 11: head onto the highways and ways of America.
• 22:50
  Speaker 3: Ahead, own ahead.
• 22:51
Speaker 11: They very nicely done, but you know they got this
• 22:53
Speaker 11: alternative rock. They're really popular, they're a fan favorite, and
• 22:57
Speaker 11: they're going to play for ninety minutes from seven thirty
• 23:00
Speaker 11: until nine. We'll do the fifty to fifty drawing right
• 23:03
Speaker 11: at nine for our five charities, So please support that
• 23:06
Speaker 11: is volunteers walk around selling fifty to fifty tickets. But yeah,
• 23:11
Speaker 11: come down on the weather day. It might be the
• 23:13
Speaker 11: best one we've had. I'm gonna get I might say
• 23:16
Speaker 11: three years, because last year was pretty warm. This year
• 23:19
Speaker 11: has been a little muggy and hot and then rainy
• 23:21
Speaker 11: and then so tonight, I think seventy eight pay humidity,
• 23:24
Speaker 11: I think a little breeze, and again picture perfect evening
• 23:28
Speaker 11: to bring the entire family down. One hundred and four
• 23:32
Speaker 11: and four, bring the kids down. We're really rolling out
• 23:35
Speaker 11: the red carpet for the kidd oh's. The city's done
• 23:37
Speaker 11: a great job. The mayor wanted to do this two
• 23:39
Speaker 11: or three years ago, and it's been growing ever since.
• 23:43
Speaker 11: We did the back to school night. So whether your
• 23:45
Speaker 11: student's going to college or preschool, there's gonna be something
• 23:48
Speaker 11: down there down Therefore, you stop down, get your bite,
• 23:51
Speaker 11: enjoy the food vendors, enjoy all the back to school vendors,
• 23:54
Speaker 11: get your spirit of beverage, stay hydrated, lots of pop,
• 23:57
Speaker 11: lots of waters down there, whatever you'd like. It's I'm
• 24:01
Speaker 11: looking forward to tonight. And just when you thought it
• 24:03
Speaker 11: was the last one, I'll be back in three weeks,
• 24:05
Speaker 11: three weeks and we'll have one more live on Levy.
• 24:08
Speaker 11: But folks, get down there tonight. It's gonna be nice.
• 24:10
Speaker 11: It's also the forty fifth anniversary kind of the reunion
• 24:13
Speaker 11: for the Charleston High group. There's gonna be lots of
• 24:15
Speaker 11: Charleston High Mountain around tonight.
• 24:17
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 24:18
Speaker 11: Jimmy small Ridge and his committee put this thing together,
• 24:20
Speaker 11: so there's gonna be a lot of of my age
• 24:23
Speaker 11: people there. Although my high school union, my forty fifth,
• 24:26
Speaker 11: was two years ago. So these folks graduated ton eighty
• 24:29
Speaker 11: from Charleston High. There'll be a lot of Charleston High
• 24:32
Speaker 11: Mountain lines running around. So we welcome them back to town,
• 24:34
Speaker 11: back to your hometown. If you're visiting and listening to this,
• 24:37
Speaker 11: we'll see you tonight down there, and we'll see you
• 24:39
Speaker 11: tonight down there. Just come down and listen to some
• 24:42
Speaker 11: really great music. Sneezy and then Owner you've heard Owner.
• 24:45
Speaker 3: You yeah know, IVMC a couple of events, right. I
• 24:48
Speaker 3: thought you knew them.
• 24:49
Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, you know sneezy.
• 24:50
  Speaker 3: I don't know.
• 24:52
Speaker 11: I just listened to them because I I wanted to
• 24:54
Speaker 11: see what they said.
• 24:55
  Speaker 6: No.
• 24:55
Speaker 11: There they bring a cool vibe.
• 24:57
Speaker 3: It'll be fun soul FORUL.
• 24:58
  Speaker 11: I like it.
• 24:59
Speaker 3: It'll be I mean it just kind of all the
• 25:01
Speaker 3: music that we have down there, whether it's country rock,
• 25:03
Speaker 3: whatever's good. But there's just something about that kind of music.
• 25:07
Speaker 3: And I haven't heard him with the way you're describing
• 25:08
Speaker 3: on a night like tonight, when it's gonna be picture perfect,
• 25:11
Speaker 3: maybe drinking hand, soft drinking hand, whatever the case may be.
• 25:14
Speaker 3: Just out there, water coming, you know, the wind coming
• 25:16
Speaker 3: off the water. I mean, we've earned this with this.
• 25:19
Speaker 3: That's a great way to say that we've had with
• 25:23
Speaker 3: heat indexes heat ind of seas. That makes you sound
• 25:26
Speaker 3: important when you say hint heat indeceased. Heat indosees have
• 25:29
Speaker 3: been like well over one hundred, and it seems like
• 25:31
Speaker 3: it's one shower and thunderstorm after the other, hail storms
• 25:33
Speaker 3: and I don't know, locus petulants, whatever. We've had all
• 25:36
Speaker 3: these different things and we're going this is our just reward.
• 25:39
Speaker 3: We're gonna have a nice night to night. But the
• 25:41
Speaker 3: big story coming out of this again, it ain't over, right,
• 25:46
Speaker 3: it ain't over until Jimmy strawn.
• 25:47
Speaker 11: Sings Yes, No, we have we had one more. We're
• 25:49
Speaker 11: gonna yeah. I can't wait for the Charlie West All Stars.
• 25:51
Speaker 11: We talked about him before. I mean Tony's that. You know,
• 25:54
Speaker 11: Tony's got a little something to do with that. Shayla
• 25:56
Speaker 11: Leffis will be on stage, and you know there's like
• 25:58
Speaker 11: ten leven Charleston All Star, Charlie West Ollstars. They're all Stars,
• 26:02
Speaker 11: and they've really been working all our summer. So I'm
• 26:04
Speaker 11: glad we're giving them an opportunity. I'm glad the city
• 26:07
Speaker 11: did this. I'm grateful to the city, and I know
• 26:10
Speaker 11: the sponsors and the vendors are as well. And I
• 26:13
Speaker 11: look forward to the twenty second, but quite frankly, I
• 26:15
Speaker 11: look forward to the night.
• 26:17
Speaker 3: I've got a couple of questions here for you, okay.
• 26:19
Speaker 3: One says, or the fifty to fifty tickets cash only
• 26:22
Speaker 3: to buy because I always forget to stop at the ATM.
• 26:24
  Speaker 11: They are it's a cash it's cash on hand, it's
• 26:27
Speaker 11: cash on hand. But so stee, I stop at the
• 26:28
Speaker 11: ATM there's one right across the street at four points
• 26:31
Speaker 11: by Sharon. And you know, spend the dollars, spend five,
• 26:33
Speaker 11: spend ten, you spend twenty bucks. You get a pretty
• 26:36
Speaker 11: big arm length. And we do that drawing right at
• 26:38
Speaker 11: nine o'clock now, right as the last note is over.
• 26:42
Speaker 11: And again this is so nice. I don't think I've

Speaker 3: I mean, what didn't he do thing?
• 40:29
Speaker 16: What didn't he do? But I think his heart was
• 40:31
Speaker 16: really for kids. He even coached Pop Warner team won
• 40:36
Speaker 16: a national championship there. So it was he was really
• 40:39
Speaker 16: just an overall great person and anybody who knew him,
• 40:43
Speaker 16: like I said, he was a father and uncle, brother,
• 40:45
Speaker 16: a mentor. He was that affectionate, you know, once you
• 40:48
Speaker 16: got to know him.
• 40:49
Speaker 3: Talk about the importance of when we have these because sometimes,
• 40:53
Speaker 3: you know, you dedicate a bridge or a building to somebody,
• 40:56
Speaker 3: and after a while you have the big ceremony and
• 40:59
Speaker 3: you cut the ribbon and everybody has cake and everything,
• 41:01
Speaker 3: and then they and then and then it just becomes
• 41:04
Speaker 3: we're okay, well we just drive across this bridge, or
• 41:06
Speaker 3: we just are we just drive down this this street
• 41:08
Speaker 3: or whatever. Talk about the importance of letting people know
• 41:12
Speaker 3: no matter who it is, why this man or woman
• 41:15
Speaker 3: was important to the community.
• 41:16
Speaker 16: Well, I think his daughter stated it best that you know,
• 41:18
Speaker 16: small act of kindness and services can lead up to,
• 41:22
Speaker 16: you know, what what happened last week. As far as
• 41:25
Speaker 16: the bridge naming ceremony, and you know, I think it's
• 41:28
Speaker 16: also important to that we honor those who fought for
• 41:32
Speaker 16: our country, you know, like I said, he was a
• 41:36
Speaker 16: Vietnam War vet, did multiple tours, purple hearts, all these
• 41:40
Speaker 16: different honors, so I think that was permanent. And in addition,
• 41:44
Speaker 16: even in his death, within this bridge naming ceremony, we
• 41:47
Speaker 16: see so much political strife. Where we had two individuals
• 41:50
Speaker 16: from you know, different sides of the hour, we're able
• 41:54
Speaker 16: to come together and actually do this. So I think
• 41:57
Speaker 16: that far as just being a display, was actually great.
• 42:00
Speaker 3: And I like that. And Walt Hall is a good
• 42:02
Speaker 3: friend of mine, has been for years. He's been on
• 42:04
Speaker 3: the show numerous times. I know he's also a good
• 42:05
Speaker 3: friend of yours. And I love that because in the
• 42:08
Speaker 3: in the news headlines, you know, we always hear about
• 42:11
Speaker 3: the strife, as you said, and the beef and so on.
• 42:14
Speaker 3: So and it happens nationwide, it happens you're locally too,
• 42:16
Speaker 3: But the fact that two individuals came together and it's
• 42:19
Speaker 3: not about politics, it's about honoring a great.
• 42:21
Speaker 16: Man exactly, And I think that, you know, and again
• 42:24
Speaker 16: I just haven't seen too much of that, you know,
• 42:27
Speaker 16: whether it's locally or nationally. So I think that was
• 42:30
Speaker 16: just on its face, just very good for this the
• 42:32
Speaker 16: public to see that, hey man, we're gonna come together,
• 42:35
Speaker 16: and the individual, a citizen who, like I said, worked
• 42:38
Speaker 16: it in the community at all levels even in his death,
• 42:42
Speaker 16: was able to do this.

• 43:05
Speaker 16: I think that's kind of been short of the on
• 43:07
Speaker 16: the tip of everybody's tongue and everybody's wondering about that.
• 43:10
Speaker 16: So I thought that what maybe happen sort of midsummer,
• 43:13
Speaker 16: So we'll see if that's something that's going to be
• 43:16
Speaker 16: happening as far as going back into the school, so
• 43:18
Speaker 16: we can address some things that are looming far as
• 43:22
Speaker 16: pi A and obviously what's going to happen with medicaid.
• 43:25
Speaker 16: So we got some issues that need to be worked out.
• 43:27
Speaker 16: That's probably is going to take a little bit longer
• 43:29
Speaker 16: than a regular session.
• 43:30
Speaker 3: Yeah, and the thing about the special sessions, I mean,
• 43:34
Speaker 3: you don't and we talked about this on the Shaw
• 43:35
Speaker 3: on Metro Is Midday yesterday. You don't just go in
• 43:37

Speaker 3: waste taxpayer's money exactly.
• 43:42
Speaker 16: And I think, like I said, we have a lot
• 43:44
Speaker 16: of things, you know, whether it's like I said, PIA, medicaid,
• 43:47
Speaker 16: flood resiliency, it's a lot of things that need to
• 43:50
Speaker 16: be hammered out and you know, get those plans developing.

• 48:47
Speaker 3: David's Fun Friday, and it's hilarious watching Trump's caddy move
• 48:51
Speaker 3: his ball to a better spot. Because Trump is such
• 48:53
Speaker 3: a terrible golfer. It seems like a metaphor for what
• 48:56
Speaker 3: the GOP is doing for Trump, carrying his weight and
• 48:59
Speaker 3: helping him succeed as he falls because or fails rather
• 49:02
Speaker 3: because of an aptitude. I just you know, we have
• 49:04
Speaker 3: a TV in the studio and it's kind of on
• 49:07
Speaker 3: just in case there's breaking news or whatever. And I
• 49:10
Speaker 3: just happened to glance up at the TV as I
• 49:13
Speaker 3: was beginning the show, and President Trump was having a
• 49:17
Speaker 3: press conference, And again obviously it's on mute, so I
• 49:19
Speaker 3: don't know exactly what they were talking about. But Triple
• 49:21
Speaker 3: H was at the sports entertainer. You know that, I
• 49:25
Speaker 3: didn't call him a wrestler, the sports entertainer from WWE,
• 49:28
Speaker 3: and I guess he's like the president of the company
• 49:30
Speaker 3: now was there with him, and I don't know exactly
• 49:32
Speaker 3: what they were talking about, but we had Triple H
• 49:35
Speaker 3: with him. Deck said, did everyone see that Paton McAfee
• 49:39
Speaker 3: wants College Game Day in Morgantown for the backyard Brawl
• 49:42
Speaker 3: this season? Even country star Luke Comb sees that. In
• 49:45
Speaker 3: a video Barstools Sports posted on x ask which rivalry
• 49:49
Speaker 3: is the most underrated in college football? Combs said to me,
• 49:52
Speaker 3: it's the backyard Brawl West Virginia and Pitt. I know
• 49:57
Speaker 3: that people that are in the West Virginia pit rivalry
• 49:59
Speaker 3: are gonna be like, how that underrated? I think it's
• 50:01
Speaker 3: entirely in the country. Super underrated rivalry, says a texture
• 50:06
Speaker 3: the complaints, says texture was about billionaires, not millionaires. No,
• 50:11
Speaker 3: I was referring to appreciate the text. I was referring
• 50:14
Speaker 3: to a article that came out reported by the Associated
• 50:17
Speaker 3: Press this week that more and more people are becoming
• 50:20
Speaker 3: millionaires in America and the biggest segment of those are
• 50:23
Speaker 3: forty and under. So those who say, well, it's different,
• 50:25
Speaker 3: young people can't do well, not necessarily, it's forty and under.
• 50:28
Speaker 3: It's the fastest growing class of millionaires, not billionaires. One
• 50:32
Speaker 3: in ten people in America are millionaires now. And again
• 50:35
Speaker 3: that doesn't mean necessarily just money in the bank, all right.
• 50:38
Speaker 3: So TJ. Meadows joins us now, who's always always ready
• 50:44
Speaker 3: to talk about money and things like that. Why we
• 50:46
Speaker 3: got to be hating on people for doing well, having
• 50:48
Speaker 3: a good number, Because there's a war on success in
• 50:50
Speaker 3: this country and there has been.
• 50:51
  Speaker 2: For some time.
• 50:51
Speaker 3: So I will say this.
• 50:52
Speaker 10: You know, I was born in nineteen eighty. A million
• 50:55
Speaker 10: bucks in nineteen eighty is far different from a million
• 50:57
Speaker 10: dollars today. Indeed, you need about four point one five
• 51:00
Speaker 10: million dollars based on inflation to have the same buying power.
• 51:03
Speaker 10: With that said, having a million dollar net worth even
• 51:09
Speaker 10: today you're in pretty good shape relatively speaking compared to
• 51:12
Speaker 10: the rest of America, and you can do it. It's
• 51:15
Speaker 10: like looking at the guy or gal who go to
• 51:17
Speaker 10: the gym all the time. Oh man, you know, I
• 51:19
Speaker 10: hate that guy, Bubble.
• 51:21
Speaker 3: They're willing to put in the work. That's the way
• 51:23
Speaker 3: they That's why they looked at as people like me
• 51:25
Speaker 3: set there with a quarter pound are going. Man, I
• 51:26
Speaker 3: can't stand that guy.
• 51:27
  Speaker 14: I know.
• 51:28
Speaker 10: So you know what it's it's not too difficult find
• 51:32
Speaker 10: a job you're good at. Most people are work hard,
• 51:34
Speaker 10: live below your means. It's not that hard to do
• 51:36
Speaker 10: if you're willing to do it. Most people aren't willing
• 51:38
Speaker 10: to put in the work. Well, then stop, I don't
• 51:40
Speaker 10: complaining complaining because I be glad you got some of
• 51:43
Speaker 10: those people, because if you didn't imagine the mess we
• 51:46
Speaker 10: would be in with Social Security and everything else. Look America,
• 51:49
Speaker 10: the baby boomers, they are entirely unready for retirement. People
• 51:53
Speaker 10: can't take care of themselves. That's why we have all
• 51:55
Speaker 10: these entitlement programs. Suck it up, Buttercup.
• 52:00
Speaker 3: Wow, all right, all right, Well, Bernie Sanders is gonna

• 52:09
Speaker 3: right now. He's not going to get a warm reception
• 52:11
Speaker 3: when he goes to Mingo County. I'm just telling you
• 52:13
Speaker 3: the Trump boys and the girls are going to be
