- Lucas: Luna, welcome back to Learn Italian with Fexingo. Luna: Thanks, Lucas! I'm ready to learn some new Italian phrases. Lucas: Great! Today we're going to talk about flowers at the park. We've described trees and the sky before, but now let's focus on the flowers. Luna: Oh, I love flowers! Let's start. Lucas: So when you see a beautiful flower, you can say: Che bel fiore! That means 'What a beautiful flower!' Listen again: Che bel fiore! Luna: Che bel fiore! That's easy. It sounds like 'Keh bell fee oh reh'? Oh wait, no phonetic hints, sorry. Lucas: No problem. Just say it: Che bel fiore! Luna: Che bel fiore! I love saying that. Lucas: Now, if you want to describe the color, you can say: Il fiore è rosso. That means 'The flower is red.' Il fiore è rosso. Luna: Il fiore è rosso. So if it's yellow, I can say: Il fiore è giallo? Lucas: Exactly! You're catching on. Now, another useful phrase is: Che profumo! That means 'What a fragrance!' or 'What a smell!' — in a good way. Che profumo! Luna: Che profumo! I can imagine walking through a garden and saying that. Lucas: Let's put it together. Imagine you see a red rose. You can say: 'Che bel fiore! Il fiore è rosso. Che profumo!' Three phrases in a row. Luna: Che bel fiore! Il fiore è rosso. Che profumo! Oh, that sounds lovely. Lucas: Now let's learn a few specific flower names. For example, 'rose' in Italian is 'rosa'. Listen: Le rose sono profumate. That means 'Roses are fragrant.' Le rose sono profumate. Luna: Le rose sono profumate. That's pretty. How do you say 'violets'? Lucas: Violets are 'viole'. And you can say: Le viole sono delicate. That means 'Violets are delicate.' Le viole sono delicate. Luna: Le viole sono delicate. That sounds very poetic. Lucas: And finally, 'sunflowers' are 'girasoli'. You can say: I girasoli sono alti. That means 'Sunflowers are tall.' I girasoli sono alti. Luna: I girasoli sono alti. I can picture them standing tall in a field. Lucas: Let's do a quick recap. Repeat after me: Che bel fiore! Luna: Che bel fiore! Lucas: Il fiore è rosso. Luna: Il fiore è rosso. Lucas: Che profumo! Luna: Che profumo! Lucas: Le rose sono profumate. Luna: Le rose sono profumate. Lucas: Le viole sono delicate. Luna: Le viole sono delicate.
