- 0:26Speaker 1: so it's time to shake.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Off those cobwebs maybe, And we're sharing our Hot Chick
- 0:31Speaker 2: Spring checklist so that you can make the most of
- 0:34Speaker 2: this wonderful season.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Is spring my favorite month?
- 0:39Speaker 3: Your favorite season?
- 0:40Speaker 4: Yes?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Is it?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Or I always thought that summer was, but I spring
- 0:45Speaker 2: It is really good.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Do you know what?
- 0:47Speaker 4: I do have to give it to someone because my
- 0:48Speaker 4: favorite I don't know how we got here. My favorite favorite, favorite,
- 0:52Speaker 4: favorite time of the year is that week between Christmas
- 0:55Speaker 4: and New Years. Nothing can touch me. I'm never sad,
- 0:58Speaker 4: nothing is bad in my life.
- 1:00Speaker 3: That's when you're like at your peak performance.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yeah, the world, just like my world just like is paused.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I think everybody is their best version of themselves during
- 1:09Speaker 2: that week.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it's amazing.
- 1:11Speaker 4: But yeah, so I love summer, but I really really
- 1:14Speaker 4: love spring too.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, there's so many good things about spring, which we're
- 1:17Speaker 2: going to get into in the episode. But before we
- 1:20Speaker 2: do get into it, let's share what we're obsessed with
- 1:23Speaker 2: this week.
- 1:25Speaker 1: These are my obsessions.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Okay, my obsession this week and one that I've actually
- 1:33Speaker 4: kind of upset that I can't test in theory. But
- 1:37Speaker 4: I'm giving this to the chicks and I want everyone
- 1:41Speaker 4: to report back. But I saw a hinge dating app hack,
- 1:47Speaker 4: and three years ago I would have been all over this.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Yeah, three years too late. Come on, man, I mean
- 1:51Speaker 3: you found the love of your life.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, I love you anyway.
- 1:58Speaker 4: So I saw this hack on I don't know if
- 2:01Speaker 4: you heard of it. It's called TikTok and I don't
- 2:05Speaker 4: know who came up with it. But you turn so
- 2:09Speaker 4: on the app, you have age limits, right, so you'll
- 2:12Speaker 4: put in like a minimum and a maximum, right, because
- 2:15Speaker 4: if you're like thirty on the app, you're not going
- 2:17Speaker 4: to have it to like I'm not going to judge.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I'm not going to judge.
- 2:21Speaker 3: But yeah, perhaps you'd want it between thirty and forty.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Yeah, like you'd have you'd have it between a certain thing.
- 2:27Speaker 1: There's this hack.
- 2:29Speaker 4: That people put their search their love search, if you
- 2:34Speaker 4: will to like seventy five to eighty and apparently all
- 2:40Speaker 4: the people are hot who.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Are within that age, right, No, but it's like a joke.
- 2:46Speaker 4: So like the funny hot boys are like putting their
- 2:49Speaker 4: age or funny hot people or funny hot humans or
- 2:52Speaker 4: funny hot girls.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Yeah, are putting.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Their age to like seventy five to eighty and like
- 2:59Speaker 4: this TikTok, I'll link it in the show notes.
- 3:02Speaker 1: She was like, I did it and it worked shire. Yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 1: because when you're.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Like on Hinge, it does get to a point that
- 3:09Speaker 4: you're like you see the same people, see the same people,
- 3:12Speaker 4: and you're like fuck.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and you're like you haven't changed that.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Throw it behind like Hinge, I think puts like a
- 3:19Speaker 4: bunch of hot people behind like a paywall and you
- 3:22Speaker 4: have to send.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Roses to them.
- 3:24Speaker 4: I would rather stub my toe on a couch than
- 3:26Speaker 4: send a rose to any one.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I'd definitely been the general admission pack.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I'll say I got shadow band on it, babe, that's right. Yeah.
- 3:35Speaker 2: They were like you one serious connection and I was
- 3:37Speaker 2: like that's not for you to I know, but come on, man,
- 3:43Speaker 2: so I want to know if this is real, please.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Let us know.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and it could be a good hack. You could
- 3:52Speaker 2: find the hot, funny love of your life.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Hmmm.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Okay, my obsession for this week, now that we're getting
- 3:58Speaker 2: into the warm weather, one of my obsessions for spring
- 4:03Speaker 2: is going to be matching vintage lingerie with T shirts
- 4:10Speaker 2: and more like masculine elements. We're going to get into
- 4:14Speaker 2: the spring trends, but I love that A big trend
- 4:18Speaker 2: that we've been seeing this year from the girlies is
- 4:21Speaker 2: like little frilly bloomer shorts with like a sports shirt
- 4:26Speaker 2: or a band tee or like a big leather jacket.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Like.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I love that mix of feminine and masculine. And when
- 4:34Speaker 2: we were in London, we did some amazing vintage shopping
- 4:38Speaker 2: and I got these incredible silk knickers which I'm just
- 4:43Speaker 2: gonna be wearing all springs.
- 4:44Speaker 4: They look like shorts, like basically silk shorts with like
- 4:48Speaker 4: lace around the trim of them.
- 4:50Speaker 3: But in ye vintage times they.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Would they would have been like pajamas.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yeah, they're kind of like blue like, and I guess
- 4:58Speaker 2: you could do with bloomers or I love the idea
- 5:01Speaker 2: of doing it with you know, the old fave like
- 5:04Speaker 2: slip slip dress, slip dress or the little skirts.
- 5:07Speaker 4: I got like a little silk romper that had like
- 5:11Speaker 4: a red silk romper that had like a lace trimmer
- 5:14Speaker 4: ond the top that you could wear with like a
- 5:16Speaker 4: blazer and cowboy boots.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And I got like a little cotton white cotton wine
- 5:22Speaker 2: as well that has like slits up the side. And
- 5:25Speaker 2: I'm like that Will looks so sick with a pair
- 5:26Speaker 2: of cowboy boots, yeah, and a blazer or a leather jacket.
- 5:30Speaker 1: So I love they're.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Wearing the exact same thing. We're just throwing in like
- 5:34Speaker 4: totally some girl.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like blazer and a cowboy boot. That's the brief. Yeah,
- 5:40Speaker 1: every time.
- 5:41Speaker 2: But you know, that's the thing about new seasons. You
- 5:43Speaker 2: don't have to completely overhaul your wardrobe. But I love
- 5:46Speaker 2: playing around with different elements, and spring and summer is
- 5:49Speaker 2: a good time to bring in some of those more
- 5:51Speaker 2: fun girly elements. And this is something that you can
- 5:55Speaker 2: buy secondhand or vintage, or you might already own.
- 5:57Speaker 3: And it's just a matter of restyling it for this
- 6:00Speaker 3: That's what I'm obsessed with.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I love that.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Okay, speaking of should we get into our Hot Chick
- 6:06Speaker 2: Spring checklist? Yes, moving into our Hot Chick Spring checklist?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Speaking of number one, refresh your fashion, I think this
- 6:21Speaker 2: is something fun that we can do every season, and
- 6:24Speaker 2: it's also a great time to declutter your wardrobe and
- 6:27Speaker 2: look back on the things that you wore or didn't
- 6:30Speaker 2: wear last summer or last spring and be like, Okay,
- 6:34Speaker 2: what can I get rid of, what can I donate,
- 6:37Speaker 2: what can I perhaps alter to wear again, and then
- 6:41Speaker 2: figure out the holes in your wardrobe and use that
- 6:44Speaker 2: as an opportunity to give your wardrobe a little bit
- 6:46Speaker 2: of a refresh.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Yeah. I feel like if something sat in your wardrobe
- 6:50Speaker 4: for two years, like two seasons, like two spring seasons,
- 6:53Speaker 4: and you haven't worn it, it's probably high chance that
- 6:57Speaker 4: you won't wear it this season. So look into repurposing
- 7:02Speaker 4: it either selling it on deep op tailoring it to
- 7:05Speaker 4: be something else cool Like I've seen people tailoring like
- 7:09Speaker 4: dresses into corsetts. Yeah, that's so like cycling their clothing,
- 7:13Speaker 4: which I think is really cool that. Yeah, you could
- 7:17Speaker 4: look into that repurposing things that you already own. Another
- 7:21Speaker 4: thing that I think is helpful when doing that is
- 7:23Speaker 4: sometimes we're not bored of our wardrobe, we're bored of
- 7:27Speaker 4: how we style it. So even looking at the things
- 7:29Speaker 4: that you've got and maybe building a spring Pinterest.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Board for your fashion.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I love that, like going on Pinterest and looking at
- 7:38Speaker 2: the outfits that you like and being like, Okay, I've
- 7:41Speaker 2: got this piece, and I've got this piece, and I
- 7:44Speaker 2: can recreate this outfit or a similar vibe with things
- 7:47Speaker 2: that I've already got.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like you'd be so shocked and the
- 7:49Speaker 4: amount of pintifits that you can recreate with your wardrobe.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Yeah, And I.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Think every season you should also be reorganizing and reshaping.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Oh my god, I did this this week your clothes.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I need to do it this weekend, I think. And
- 8:06Speaker 2: move your winter jackets into storage or vacuum pack them
- 8:10Speaker 2: or put them under the bed, under the bed, you know.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Refold your drawers so that all of your spring and
- 8:17Speaker 2: summary tops are up the top, just so that they
- 8:20Speaker 2: are easy to reach and so that you're not being like, oh,
- 8:24Speaker 2: I don't need any of this stuff.
- 8:25Speaker 3: You feel like you've got nothing to wear.
- 8:27Speaker 2: A lot of the time you do have stuff to wear,
- 8:29Speaker 2: you just can't find it or it's not in and
- 8:31Speaker 2: it's not in a place where it's easy to get to.
- 8:34Speaker 3: And yeah, again, it's a.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Good opportunit in there that you can't see it.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that's my problem currently.
- 8:43Speaker 2: But we're going to move onto some spring trends and predictions.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Quick note, of course, it goes without saying you don't
- 8:53Speaker 2: need to follow trends.
- 8:54Speaker 3: You can wear whatever you want.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I think these are simply some trend predictions that we've
- 9:00Speaker 2: scene for those who are curious or want to incorporate
- 9:04Speaker 2: something fun.
- 9:04Speaker 4: I'm love talking about trends like.
- 9:07Speaker 1: It doesn't mean I'm necessarily going to.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Go out and buy every single one, like exactly.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Just a little disclaimer to say that if you're excited
- 9:15Speaker 2: and inspired by some of these trends, amazing.
- 9:18Speaker 3: If you're not, you don't have to wear it.
- 9:20Speaker 4: And sometimes you'll already own some of them, which is
- 9:22Speaker 4: the even bigger wind.
- 9:25Speaker 1: What do we want to come back?
- 9:27Speaker 4: Oh?
- 9:28Speaker 3: I guess that I want to come back?
- 9:30Speaker 4: Do we already own the way? Like?
- 9:31Speaker 1: Can we bring this back?
- 9:33Speaker 4: Can I say I want non backless dresses to come
- 9:37Speaker 4: into fast?
- 9:37Speaker 1: Yeah? I agree, everything is backless these days.
- 9:40Speaker 4: I look at a dress, I like it gorgeous, look
- 9:43Speaker 4: at the back backless. Some of us have big titties,
- 9:48Speaker 4: and I know that I could just wear it like
- 9:50Speaker 4: without a bra if I wanted to, but I don't
- 9:52Speaker 4: I want to wear bra.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Because I don't. I don't want it. Yeah, you know
- 9:58Speaker 1: this feels topical.
- 9:59Speaker 2: But one thing that I really want to come back
- 10:01Speaker 2: is denim jackets. Are they out apparently? Like I don't
- 10:05Speaker 2: think yours is, but I think like a light blue no, listen,
- 10:08Speaker 2: I think that a light blue denim jacket is apparently
- 10:11Speaker 2: a millennial thing to wear, Like a light blue one.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Wearing jacket jacket that was.
- 10:23Speaker 1: A reed, but not from me, not on purpose. My jackets.
- 10:28Speaker 4: My wardrobe is full of denim jackets, the type of
- 10:31Speaker 4: denim jacket that maybe is like the millennial.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Do you know another thing that I want to come
- 10:36Speaker 1: back the millennial tuck?
- 10:38Speaker 2: I know that's another thing that people always tease millennials about.
- 10:42Speaker 2: But as someone with like big boobs, what is kind
- 10:46Speaker 2: of big kid.
- 10:47Speaker 1: In your shirt? Yeah?
- 10:48Speaker 2: Have you seen those tiktoks? And it's like how to
- 10:50Speaker 2: spot a millennial? And it will be somebody wearing like
- 10:52Speaker 2: an outfit and then their shirt's tucked in and they're
- 10:54Speaker 2: like literally like that they took their shirt in.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Look, I thought I looked good today. You do look great.
- 11:01Speaker 4: I'm gonna have an extra central crisis anyway, Let's go
- 11:04Speaker 4: into the spring Spring and musical The Spring twenty twenty
- 11:08Speaker 4: four Spring trend predictions for spring groundbreaking.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Pastels for spring groundbreaking.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Including butter yellow, lilac, and glacial blue.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Glacial blue, it's like, I guess, like that like a
- 11:22Speaker 4: baby blue.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Yeah, like a bit more of an icy light blue.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Lilac has had a few moments. Lilac has come in
- 11:29Speaker 4: consistently over springs over the last couple of years. I
- 11:32Speaker 4: would say, yeah, glacial blue, I don't know if I'll
- 11:35Speaker 4: fuck with that one.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Do you know what I actually saw with like glacial
- 11:39Speaker 2: blue slash? I guess like a turquoise and brown that
- 11:44Speaker 2: was like a two thousands combo.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Same as pink and brown.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Really like early two thousands color combos that I was like.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Wool and brown.
- 11:53Speaker 2: They actually look really good together, and I think that
- 11:55Speaker 2: could be really cute for summerdays.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I love brown, Like a brown and blue bikini. That's cute.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Yeah, hotpants, I don't know if I'll be dabbling, but.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I do like you talking like American apparel, like disco pant.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Like a short short is what a hot pant?
- 12:11Speaker 1: Is so basically and they're coming back.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Yeah yeah again. I think it's like a very early
- 12:16Speaker 2: two thousands thing. It's not something that I'm necessarily going
- 12:19Speaker 2: to be wearing. But I do love seeing other people
- 12:22Speaker 2: styling at the double waistband. So whether that's boxer shorts
- 12:28Speaker 2: or stockings peeking out the top, or shorts or pants
- 12:32Speaker 2: or skirts that have the double waistband built in. I
- 12:35Speaker 2: have seen this quite a bit in vintage shops when
- 12:38Speaker 2: we were in Europe, where they would be upcycling like
- 12:41Speaker 2: two pairs of shorts into one, so you have like
- 12:44Speaker 2: a lighter color denim at the top and then maybe
- 12:46Speaker 2: like a darker denim at the bottom. I think that's
- 12:48Speaker 2: really cool in Canberra to remember, yeah that's right, So
- 12:53Speaker 2: I think that's a really cute and fun trend. And
- 12:56Speaker 2: then feminine athletics, so matching sports shorts with a frilly
- 13:00Speaker 2: white top or bally ballet flats or vice versa. And
- 13:04Speaker 2: then also the white tank. I think because of ever left,
- 13:08Speaker 2: but I think because of brat summer right. It's well
- 13:12Speaker 2: and truly that no stable, don't I.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Love a white tank.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Also finding a thick strap white tank that's a thick
- 13:19Speaker 4: material and ribbed.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Please send me it.
- 13:23Speaker 4: I cannot find one and I need a new one
- 13:25Speaker 4: because my last one I seen but to day. Well,
- 13:27Speaker 4: you know, Johnny love about all of these trends is
- 13:30Speaker 4: they are all so vintage and secondhand shopping friendly. These
- 13:36Speaker 4: you could find at a vintage store on deepop or.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Perhaps the things that you already own, Yeah, could repurpose,
- 13:43Speaker 2: like the out a pair of shorts, you could cut
- 13:44Speaker 2: them into something short.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Who wear short shorts?
- 13:51Speaker 3: We wear shorts all right.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Next tip, So, I think when spring rolls around winter,
- 13:59Speaker 4: and in our winter episode, we did speak a lot
- 14:02Speaker 4: about taking the time to rest and like cozy era, Yeah,
- 14:07Speaker 4: cozy error, hibernate a little bit, spend time with yourself,
- 14:12Speaker 4: stay in and like take the opportunity that's presented to
- 14:16Speaker 4: you to live a little bit slower because winter is
- 14:19Speaker 4: a little bit slower, there's not as much to do,
- 14:21Speaker 4: it gets dark or quicker. Whereas now that we're going
- 14:25Speaker 4: into spring, I don't think we need to completely slingshot
- 14:31Speaker 4: ourselves back into society basically because I think that is
- 14:38Speaker 4: a one way ticket to burning out your battery. I
- 14:41Speaker 4: think it's time to maybe like dip your toe and
- 14:45Speaker 4: nudge yourself out of the cocoon. So we're exiting our
- 14:49Speaker 4: little hibernation cove, but slowly and gently and in a
- 14:54Speaker 4: way that is wholesome and fills our cup without draining it.
- 14:59Speaker 4: At the same time, I think there is such an
- 15:02Speaker 4: amazing opportunity to take yourself on more dates during spring,
- 15:07Speaker 4: and it's maybe looking at buying a new book, or
- 15:11Speaker 4: I recently planted a herve garden, which just made me
- 15:16Speaker 4: so happy like that it was like a whole day
- 15:19Speaker 4: activity and it was just really fun. I think it
- 15:23Speaker 4: was honestly fifty bucks and I enjoyed myself so much,
- 15:28Speaker 4: and it was something that you know, you're spending more
- 15:30Speaker 4: time in the sun, which is just so good for
- 15:33Speaker 4: your brain. And also, I feel like summer it's such
- 15:39Speaker 4: a high social season, like between wrapping up work and
- 15:45Speaker 4: end of year parties and birthdays and Christmas and beach
- 15:48Speaker 4: days and drinks and.
- 15:51Speaker 1: All that stuff, which is really fun and I love that.
- 15:54Speaker 4: But I think it's a good opportunity in spring to
- 15:58Speaker 4: maybe spend a little bit time taking yourself on dates
- 16:03Speaker 4: and easing your way out into like social situations a
- 16:06Speaker 4: little bit, don't you think.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Definitely, I'm like really picturing myself as like an high
- 16:12Speaker 2: hibernating bear, Like ye, like it should chafe, But I
- 16:16Speaker 2: think that's good because it can be a bit of
- 16:18Speaker 2: a shock to the system if you've spent the last
- 16:20Speaker 2: three months inside reading your books and watching Netflix and
- 16:25Speaker 2: then you come out and you're like, oh, like you know,
- 16:28Speaker 2: it can be a shock to the system.
- 16:29Speaker 1: But go to the markets.
- 16:31Speaker 4: I know this is all very basic stuff, but give
- 16:34Speaker 4: your permission to winter. It is hard to get the
- 16:40Speaker 4: energy and like feel the fucks to make you go
- 16:43Speaker 4: out because you're like, I just I want to put
- 16:46Speaker 4: the blind down and I want to sleep in and
- 16:48Speaker 4: I love that.
- 16:48Speaker 1: That's gorgeous. Keep doing that. You're in your own time frame.
- 16:51Speaker 1: You can sleep and if you want to, there's twenty
- 16:52Speaker 1: four hours in a day.
- 16:54Speaker 4: But I think give yourself maybe the little bit of
- 16:57Speaker 4: the nudge, but not the.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Push to like exit your cocoon.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and you've got three months to do it as well.
- 17:05Speaker 1: You can ease yourself into it and flowers.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that honestly fixes everything.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Well, it kind of leads onto my next tip, which
- 17:14Speaker 2: is create a spring bucket list. When I was a
- 17:17Speaker 2: little kid and we'd go into the summer school holidays
- 17:22Speaker 2: young boy my mother. At that period in my life,
- 17:25Speaker 2: I was definitely staying inside and coding my MySpace. But
- 17:29Speaker 2: when I was a little kid and we'd go into
- 17:31Speaker 2: the summer holidays specifically where you have that big six
- 17:35Speaker 2: week break, I'd always make a summer bucket list and
- 17:38Speaker 2: I'd buy a poster and like get all my texters
- 17:41Speaker 2: out and like create a bucket list and decorate it
- 17:44Speaker 2: with stickers and you know whatever. And i'd have, you know,
- 17:48Speaker 2: maybe ten things that I needed to do by the
- 17:50Speaker 2: end of the summer holidays.
- 17:52Speaker 3: And you know, I was like eight.
- 17:54Speaker 2: So it would be like have a water balloon fight,
- 17:57Speaker 2: have a picnic outside neat zac Efron, Yeah, build a
- 18:01Speaker 2: fairy garden like literal we still do that.
- 18:05Speaker 1: That'd be great.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Well that I think that we should incorporate this into
- 18:09Speaker 2: adulthood and into springs and play.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Yeah. Play is such a like such a value to
- 18:15Speaker 4: have as an adult that.
- 18:17Speaker 1: We really really lose when we're overseas.
- 18:20Speaker 4: We heard this thing and it was saying how as
- 18:22Speaker 4: we get older, we lose the ability to play, and
- 18:28Speaker 4: that this is your invitation to come and play again.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm going to start creating.
- 18:35Speaker 4: But yeah, I just I think that is such a
- 18:38Speaker 4: good point that in spring really.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Prioritize your play.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's the perfect time for it, Like the
- 18:46Speaker 2: weather is literally beckoning you to come out and play.
- 18:51Speaker 2: So start making a bucket list. You can, you know,
- 18:54Speaker 2: buy a post a board and do it yourself. You
- 18:56Speaker 2: have a journal, you can.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Write it in there. What I think is even cuter
- 19:00Speaker 1: a canvas and some paints. Yeah, how fun.
- 19:03Speaker 4: And then when you do it, you can like paint
- 19:05Speaker 4: it yeah and.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Tick it in like how cute.
- 19:08Speaker 2: But the point of the bucket list isn't to be
- 19:10Speaker 2: productive or to better yourself in quotes, It's to have
- 19:14Speaker 2: fun and make use of the fact that the sun
- 19:17Speaker 2: is going to be going down later, it's going to
- 19:20Speaker 2: be warmer.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Let's take advantage of spring.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I've got a couple of ideas to add to your
- 19:26Speaker 2: bucket list. Inexpensive Spring bucket list ideas. One, press flowers
- 19:33Speaker 2: or start scrapbooking. Two, start taking photos if you've got
- 19:37Speaker 2: like a disposable camera or a digital camera or a polaroid.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Three learn a new Spring inspired recipe so that could
- 19:45Speaker 2: be like a salad Well, I've got one or a cocktail,
- 19:49Speaker 2: or maybe like a fruity dessert.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Highly recommend watermelon fetta and mint salad.
- 19:55Speaker 2: M so easy and so young so for host and
- 19:59Speaker 2: afternoon tea. Or a picnic with your friends. Teddy bears
- 20:03Speaker 2: picnic fucking slay. One of my like highlights of my
- 20:06Speaker 2: whole life was that Teddy Bear's picnic.
- 20:09Speaker 3: I brought my care bear and we had the best day.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Anyway, go on a day trip with your friends, like
- 20:16Speaker 2: take a little road trip somewhere, or go to a
- 20:17Speaker 2: beach or something that you've never been to.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Go to the park.
- 20:21Speaker 3: And paint, or go to a sunset and paint.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Have an outdoor cinema date so you either could set
- 20:27Speaker 2: this up in your own backyard or you know, all
- 20:29Speaker 2: of the outdoor cinemas start in spring and summer, which
- 20:31Speaker 2: I think is such a cute date idea. And try
- 20:34Speaker 2: a new hobby that you would usually only do in
- 20:38Speaker 2: spring or summer, so surfing or rollerblading or skateboarding.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Ripstick?
- 20:44Speaker 3: Yeah, do you remember the ripstick? Do you remember that it.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Was like you had to wiggle the back of it.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Oh bad, I do it.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I have sat them.
- 20:51Speaker 1: And I thought I was slaying.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Okay, next one, and I'm gonna be quick with this
- 20:56Speaker 4: because I think this spring clean is like.
- 20:58Speaker 1: A very obvious one.
- 20:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I like to think of it as less of
- 21:02Speaker 4: a spring clean and more of a update and.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Upgrade your physical space.
- 21:08Speaker 4: So it's like clear out things that are just clutter
- 21:12Speaker 4: and upgrade your space and update it like I updated
- 21:18Speaker 4: my wardrobe. And it is a fucking sleigh. So I
- 21:22Speaker 4: endorse the tubs.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Clear tubs down the bottom.
- 21:26Speaker 4: What's hanging is like jackets and jeans, but only the
- 21:30Speaker 4: things that I wear, and then one of those little
- 21:31Speaker 4: hanging cubes things. And it like, investing in organizing your
- 21:36Speaker 4: space in a way that makes things easy is going
- 21:40Speaker 4: to be so much better because it makes things easy
- 21:43Speaker 4: to put away. I think often we think about making
- 21:47Speaker 4: things easy to get to. That's not the issue. The
- 21:50Speaker 4: issue with keeping your space organized and tidy is a
- 21:54Speaker 4: lot of the time, you know what you want. You
- 21:55Speaker 4: know that day you probably you might want to wear,
- 21:58Speaker 4: you know, a blazer with your gene and your coward boots.
- 22:01Speaker 3: You know that that you know where it is, you'll
- 22:03Speaker 3: get that.
- 22:03Speaker 1: The issue I mean for me specifically is putting it away.
- 22:07Speaker 4: Then, So when you create a space that's organized in
- 22:10Speaker 4: a way that makes a process simple, it makes your
- 22:13Speaker 4: life simple.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Like it's just it's so much better.
- 22:16Speaker 4: And I know this sounds so weird, but like after
- 22:19Speaker 4: a week, like I'll clean my room, I'll do my
- 22:21Speaker 4: washing it and after a week it's messy again, because
- 22:24Speaker 4: I think that's pretty not everywhere I have put my
- 22:28Speaker 4: clothes and my room has been clean. I put my
- 22:32Speaker 4: clothes away and my room has been clean for a week. Yeah,
- 22:35Speaker 4: And I know that is like the smallest win in
- 22:37Speaker 4: the world, but it is the biggest win of my life.
- 22:41Speaker 4: Like I feel like I'm not crazy anymore.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Yeah, because I just to figure out whatever process it
- 22:46Speaker 2: is to you.
- 22:47Speaker 3: And I think a spring clean is a great time
- 22:49Speaker 3: to do that.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Yes, it's incredible, Okay, Next on your Hot Chicks spring check.
- 22:54Speaker 4: This is to start putting together your sale season savings.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Say that three times. It's quick alliteration. But if you
- 23:06Speaker 1: put six.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Dollars away every day into a little savings account, it
- 23:10Speaker 4: means that by Black Friday you'll have over five hundred
- 23:14Speaker 4: dollars to spend or save if you want to save
- 23:17Speaker 4: it so you can do your Christmas shopping, or you
- 23:20Speaker 4: can buy that thing that you've been saving up for
- 23:23Speaker 4: like a dison air up, for example, because we know
- 23:25Speaker 4: that a lot of people.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Shop that on Black Friday.
- 23:28Speaker 4: But it just means that you're not going to be
- 23:29Speaker 4: dipping into your savings or your emergency funds. You've got
- 23:33Speaker 4: your shopping budget and you've been putting a little bit
- 23:36Speaker 4: away for that shopping budget rather than like spending your
- 23:39Speaker 4: entire weekly paycheck or dipping into your savings.
- 23:43Speaker 1: And it's just a good point in time to get.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Your Christmas shopping done. Absolutely, can you have.
- 23:48Speaker 1: A more tweet? Yeah, little tweet for a little pointcess.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Tweet them, tweet yourself.
- 23:54Speaker 4: So do yourself a favor and pause this episode right
- 23:58Speaker 4: now because we know you're going to forget by the
- 24:00Speaker 4: end of it. Same, but pause it right now and
- 24:04Speaker 4: go set up like an automatic transfer to a savings
- 24:08Speaker 4: for six.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Dollars a day, or it can also be a dollar.
- 24:10Speaker 4: A dollar will still you'll save eighty seven dollars and
- 24:13Speaker 4: you can still get something that's going to get you
- 24:15Speaker 4: some bang for.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Your buck on like Friday.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I also have some.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Tea tea, some tea what But obviously we're going into
- 24:23Speaker 4: sale season right and the best.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Time of the year.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's the one level time of the year.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Tea. VOSN has reportedly been canceled.
- 24:32Speaker 4: No.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Yeah, so we got.
- 24:35Speaker 4: A DM from an anonymous chick and she messaged us
- 24:41Speaker 4: saying that her brand that she works for. The retailer
- 24:45Speaker 4: she works for got a message saying BOSN has been canceled.
- 24:49Speaker 4: So I was like, babe, what's going on? So she said, well,
- 24:52Speaker 4: I work for a retailer and we were doing the
- 24:54Speaker 4: September roster and the other day I saw the roster
- 24:56Speaker 4: hours cut and I was like, what the fuck? That's illegal,
- 24:59Speaker 4: not with bos On, And they said head office received
- 25:02Speaker 4: an email that it was canceled. So she also mentioned
- 25:06Speaker 4: I think most retailers will still run something, but for
- 25:09Speaker 4: now it seems Vogue has candid I think from a
- 25:12Speaker 4: low participation rate because retailers who offer after pay have
- 25:17Speaker 4: to play into after pay day sales, but Vogue doesn't
- 25:19Speaker 4: have that obligation. So if you I didn't know that
- 25:22Speaker 4: if you have after pay, like, if you offer that,
- 25:25Speaker 4: you have to do an after payday sale.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Apparently I didn't know that either.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's why there's sales. Yeah, why everybody has
- 25:34Speaker 1: a sale. It doesn't surprise me though.
- 25:36Speaker 4: I think BOSN was quite a large sale event a
- 25:41Speaker 4: couple of years ago, but now with the height of
- 25:43Speaker 4: Clickfrenzy and Black Friday, especially in sale seasons, I probably
- 25:47Speaker 4: wouldn't be shopping BOSN when I know that Clickfrenzy and
- 25:51Speaker 4: Black Friday around the corner.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Like if I had a wish list, I would be
- 25:54Speaker 1: saving it for that. Yeah, me too.
- 25:57Speaker 3: So yeah, that's I.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Don't know if it will happen. Maybe they'll surprise us.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Yeah, but they might make a surprise comeback.
- 26:03Speaker 1: That's never know. The Hot Gas, Hot E, the Hot
- 26:06Speaker 1: Gas and the group of chicks d we are the
- 26:10Speaker 1: new dum Oh my god of the topic world. Imagine
- 26:14Speaker 1: that read a weep.
- 26:16Speaker 2: My last tip or my last point on the Hot
- 26:20Speaker 2: Cheeks Spring checklist is revisit and readjust.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Your twenty twenty four goals.
- 26:25Speaker 2: So we are two thirds of the way through twenty
- 26:29Speaker 2: twenty four. There are only four months left until twenty
- 26:33Speaker 2: twenty five. I'm not trying to scare anyone or intimidate anyone,
- 26:38Speaker 2: but the great thing about that is there's still plenty
- 26:41Speaker 2: of time left in the ear to look back on
- 26:44Speaker 2: your goals and to see how far you've come, or
- 26:48Speaker 2: to perhaps look at your goals and be like, actually,
- 26:51Speaker 2: you know what my goalposts have changed. Let's shuffle a
- 26:54Speaker 2: few things around. Let's maybe have a look at my
- 26:59Speaker 2: my habits and what I've been doing every single day.
- 27:02Speaker 2: What can I introduce or stop doing to reach my
- 27:05Speaker 2: goal or to reach a new goal that.
- 27:07Speaker 3: I care about even more.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I think that, you know, going into a new season
- 27:11Speaker 2: is a great opportunity to take that time to pause
- 27:15Speaker 2: and reflect on how far you've come in twenty twenty
- 27:18Speaker 2: four and all the things that you can achieve before
- 27:20Speaker 2: the new year. You don't have to wait until the
- 27:22Speaker 2: first of January to start a new goal. Of course,
- 27:25Speaker 2: that's a great time. The new Year's is a great
- 27:27Speaker 2: time to alter motivator, but I think a new season
- 27:30Speaker 2: is a good time to do that as well.
- 27:32Speaker 4: I think it's also fun because you can cheat, like
- 27:35Speaker 4: you can cheat your news resolutions next year, and to
- 27:38Speaker 4: start now exactly like that was the best thing that
- 27:40Speaker 4: I've It was Alexis Fernandez, that's a in a podcast
- 27:44Speaker 4: episode last year saying that you don't have to wait
- 27:47Speaker 4: till a new year. But I think as well with this,
- 27:49Speaker 4: by the end of the year, you've been through a lot. Yeah,
- 27:53Speaker 4: by spring, it's like you, I feel like you are
- 27:56Speaker 4: starting to wind down from like seriousness.
- 28:01Speaker 1: That probably was your year.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Like I can practically guarantee everyone can think of something
- 28:06Speaker 4: this year that has been like a bit of a
- 28:08Speaker 4: drain or a bit of a stressor Yeah, And it's
- 28:10Speaker 4: like what you're saying is a good opportunity to identify
- 28:14Speaker 4: some goals, but maybe more of a rebrand to like
- 28:17Speaker 4: a bucket list goals vibe, So like I want to
- 28:21Speaker 4: enjoy my weekends more like I want to have more
- 28:24Speaker 4: of a work life balance, or I want to save
- 28:27Speaker 4: this amount by Christmas, Like yeah, make it more of
- 28:30Speaker 4: a short term goal that's really fun.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Exactly, and then having that then you can look back
- 28:35Speaker 2: on like the micro habits that lead you up to that,
- 28:39Speaker 2: and you can make it more achievable by introducing some
- 28:42Speaker 2: of those things that can latter up to whatever that
- 28:45Speaker 2: goal is.
- 28:46Speaker 4: On that note, my last kind of Spring checklist thing
- 28:51Speaker 4: is to let go of the indecisiveness and maybe just
- 28:56Speaker 4: like let go of a lot of the tension and
- 29:01Speaker 4: shit that you're probably holding on to, because again, I
- 29:04Speaker 4: think we get to this part of the year and
- 29:07Speaker 4: we've been through a lot. Everyone like, there's just so
- 29:10Speaker 4: much that you've probably twenty twenty four has been like
- 29:13Speaker 4: a heavy year.
- 29:13Speaker 1: It's been a heavy year.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Yeah alone, whatever you've gone through personally as well. Yeah, sure,
- 29:19Speaker 3: and gone through a lot.
- 29:20Speaker 4: Like we said at the start, I think prioritizing joy
- 29:24Speaker 4: and play and trying to build the skill that is
- 29:30Speaker 4: avoiding overthinking is going to release the tension from your
- 29:35Speaker 4: entire body. But I was listening to this philosopher called
- 29:39Speaker 4: Alan Watts.
- 29:40Speaker 1: He is amazing. I love him. He fixes my life.
- 29:45Speaker 4: But basically he said, if you're constantly trying to make
- 29:48Speaker 4: the right decision, you will never make the right decision
- 29:52Speaker 4: because you'll never make a decision because the data is infinite.
- 29:55Speaker 1: When you're thinking of what to do, you sit there
- 29:58Speaker 1: and you're really trying to think about it.
- 29:59Speaker 4: That's it's not to say you should make rash decisions,
- 30:04Speaker 4: but it's to say if you are trying to analyze
- 30:08Speaker 4: a decision from every single angle and trying to analyze
- 30:11Speaker 4: a decision with all the data, you'll never make a
- 30:15Speaker 4: decision because the data is infinite.
- 30:16Speaker 1: You have no idea what's going to happen in the future.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Like you can.
- 30:20Speaker 4: You can think about you know, learnings and life lessons.
- 30:23Speaker 1: That you've had.
- 30:24Speaker 4: But if you sit there and start trying to account
- 30:26Speaker 4: for the future, that's when you're shooting yourself in the foot, Like,
- 30:29Speaker 4: that's when you're setting yourself up for failure. And I
- 30:33Speaker 4: think indecisiveness and like accounting for the future is something
- 30:37Speaker 4: something where I've been holding my self back a bit
- 30:41Speaker 4: of being like if I do this, but if I
- 30:43Speaker 4: do this, what if this happens? And if I do this,
- 30:45Speaker 4: that could happen, And it's that fear of making the
- 30:48Speaker 4: wrong decision.
- 30:50Speaker 1: And that's the thing.
- 30:52Speaker 4: It's like, the data is infinite, so being indecisive is
- 30:55Speaker 4: a moot point and you just have to make the decision.
- 30:58Speaker 4: And sometimes it's the wrong one and some times it's
- 31:00Speaker 4: the right one. But in every situation, it's a lesson.
- 31:04Speaker 4: And when I heard that, I was like, holy shit,
- 31:08Speaker 4: like blue man, but man, Alan God, yeah, I know right.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I was like, why are you trying to read me
- 31:13Speaker 1: like that?
- 31:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like, don't be so many people relate
- 31:16Speaker 2: to that, but yeah, And I just wanted to put
- 31:18Speaker 2: that in here and maybe finish on this note as
- 31:20Speaker 2: a way to give yourself mission to just enjoy spring,
- 31:25Speaker 2: like upgrade your space, play with your fashion and play
- 31:30Speaker 2: with your friends. Play with your friends, go make a
- 31:32Speaker 2: fairy garden, like spring is fucking fun.
- 31:36Speaker 3: That the silly girls Spring, billy girls Spring.
- 31:39Speaker 4: I love that, Like, let's just little, let's chapel and
- 31:44Speaker 4: let's have it silly al spring slag.
- 31:47Speaker 3: We can get into advice with the chicks.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Advice with the cheeks.
- 31:55Speaker 4: Okay, how do you figure out what your dream job
- 31:59Speaker 4: is and how do you gain enough confidence to go
- 32:02Speaker 4: for it? For context, I'm a twenty six year old
- 32:05Speaker 4: mama trying to make the best life in my family
- 32:07Speaker 4: with a good work life balance and love my job
- 32:11Speaker 4: now as a career and helping people, but I'm always
- 32:14Speaker 4: feeling like I want more and looking at psychology needing
- 32:17Speaker 4: confidence as I don't know if it's the right path.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Wow, I feel like this really ladders back to your
- 32:25Speaker 2: last voice.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Yeah, which I didn't even realize. I think my response
- 32:29Speaker 1: to this is pretty short and sweet. But go for it.
- 32:32Speaker 1: I agree, because.
- 32:33Speaker 4: You will always wonder what if if you didn't, And
- 32:38Speaker 4: it's like if it was easy, everyone would be doing it,
- 32:42Speaker 4: Like it might be a bit hard to juggle everything,
- 32:45Speaker 4: but you can be really proud of yourself whether or
- 32:48Speaker 4: not you do it and continue or do it and
- 32:50Speaker 4: it's not for you.
- 32:51Speaker 2: You gave it a red hot crack and that's like
- 32:54Speaker 2: the best thing, and I reckon you would end up
- 32:56Speaker 2: loving it. Yeah, And you can also take your time
- 32:59Speaker 2: with these things. Like, I think that it's amazing that
- 33:02Speaker 2: now in twenty twenty four, there are so many more
- 33:04Speaker 2: options for people, and especially for women and mums who
- 33:09Speaker 2: you know are taking care of their children as well,
- 33:11Speaker 2: to study remotely or to you know, maybe study part
- 33:15Speaker 2: time instead of full time so that you know you
- 33:17Speaker 2: can still work and take care of your family and yourself. Like,
- 33:21Speaker 2: you have the flexibility to kind of make this work
- 33:25Speaker 2: with your life, and I think you just need to
- 33:27Speaker 2: make the space for it and give yourself permission to
- 33:30Speaker 2: do it and pursue something that you are clearly passionate about.
- 33:34Speaker 2: And you've said that you're working now as a care
- 33:36Speaker 2: which I think is great because it seems like probably
- 33:39Speaker 2: a lot of those people skills that you've learned in
- 33:41Speaker 2: your current career could transfer into something in psychology.
- 33:45Speaker 3: So there will be things.
- 33:46Speaker 2: From your current career that you'll be able to apply
- 33:49Speaker 2: to this new chapter if you do decide to pursue it.
- 33:51Speaker 3: So I think, go for it.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I love it.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Needing confidence, I think you've got the confidence within yourself.
- 33:58Speaker 1: You've got back yourself.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Yeah, even if it's fake at the start, even if it's.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Just remember this level.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Yeah, remember that no one knows what they're doing.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Oh, no one's got any fucking.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Especially at the start saying we don't.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:13Speaker 3: So thank you till you make it, baby, exactly love it.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Ah, tell us when you get your psychology degree and
- 34:17Speaker 4: give me freak therapy.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Yeah. Please.
