As

we

head
0:13
into
0:14
the

0:14
we

0:15
it'd

be

a

0:24
you're
0:24
really
0:24
going
0:24
to
0:24
enjoy
0:24
this

but
0:25
before

0:38
we're

0:39

we

Well,

1:33
welcome
1:34
back
1:34
to
1:34
the

1:36
It's
1:37
so
1:37
good
1:37
to
1:37
be
1:37
here.
1:39
There
1:39
you
1:39
go.
1:40
I
1:40
feel
1:40
bad
1:40
for
1:40
you
1:41
that
1:41
you
1:41
got
1:41
a
1:41
ton
1:42
of
1:42
rain
1:42
last
1:42
night.
1:42
You're
1:43
going
1:43
to
1:43
probably
1:43
sounds
1:43
like
1:43
you're
1:43
going
1:44
to
1:44
be
1:44
off
1:44
the
1:44
water
1:44
for
1:44
probably
1:45
four
1:45
or
1:45
five
1:45
days,
1:46
right?
1:48
@
1:48
least.
1:48
Yeah,
1:49
I'm
1:49
going
1:49
to.
1:49
I
1:50
might
1:50
try
1:50
to
1:50
see
1:50
if
1:50
some
1:51
of
1:51
the
1:51
smaller
1:51
creeks
1:52
clear
1:52
out
1:53
by
1:53
Thursday
1:53
or
1:53
Friday,
1:54
but
1:54
definitely
1:55
not
1:55
going
1:55
out
1:55
tomorrow,
1:56
that's
1:56
for
1:56
sure.
1:57
There
1:57
you
1:57
go.
1:58
Well,
1:58
you
1:58
can
1:58
beat
1:58
the
1:58
weekend
1:59
Costco
1:59
rush,
2:00
I
2:00
think.
2:00
I
2:01
think
2:01
the
2:01
last
2:01
time
2:01
I
2:02
saw
2:02
you
2:03
was
2:03
in
2:03
Lancaster
2:04
at
2:04
the
2:04
Lancaster
2:04
show.
2:05
Putting
2:06
aside
2:06
I
2:07
know
2:07
you've
2:07
had
2:07
a
2:07
fair
2:07
amount
2:07
of
2:07
rain,
2:08
but
2:08
how's
2:08
your
2:08
spring
2:08
smallmouth
2:09
season
2:09
been?
2:10
It's
2:11
been
2:11
really
2:11
good.
2:12
It's
2:13
been
2:13
a
2:13
little
2:13
strange.
2:15
We
2:15
had
2:15
some
2:16
like
2:16
super
2:17
warm,
2:18
warm
2:18
weather
2:19
in
2:19
March,
2:20
and
2:20
then
2:20
about
2:21
the
2:21
time
2:21
the
2:21
bass
2:22
started
2:22
migrating,
2:22
it
2:23
got
2:23
really
2:23
cold.
2:24
And
2:24
so
2:25
for
2:25
like
2:25
the
2:25
first
2:26
two
2:26
and
2:27
a
2:27
half
2:27
to
2:27
three
2:27
weeks,
2:28
it
2:28
was,
2:28
it
2:28
was,
2:29
you
2:29
know,
2:29
in
2:29
the
2:29
40s
2:30
every
2:30
day,
2:31
30s
2:31
at
2:31
night.
2:32
And
2:33
there
2:33
was
2:33
like
2:33
a
2:34
period
2:34
probably
2:35
around
2:35
the
2:35
14th
2:36
or
2:36
15th
2:37
of
2:37
of
2:37
April
2:39
that
2:40
within
2:40
three
2:41
days
2:41
the
2:41
water
2:41
temps
2:42
went
2:42
from
2:43
48
2:43
to
2:44
62.
2:45
And
2:45
so
2:46
we
2:46
had
2:46
a
2:46
really
2:47
early
2:47
spawn
2:49
and
2:49
then
2:50
we
2:50
kind
2:50
of
2:51
got
2:51
low
2:51
water.
2:51
So
2:52
it
2:52
was,
2:52
you
2:53
know,
2:53
not.
2:54
There
2:54
wasn't
2:55
a
2:55
lot
2:55
of
2:55
fresh
2:55
fish
2:56
coming
2:56
in.
2:56
Like
2:56
we
2:56
normally
2:57
get
2:57
three,
2:57
four,
2:57
five
2:58
different
2:58
waves
2:58
of
2:59
fish.
2:59
And.
3:00
And
3:00
so
3:00
then
3:01
towards
3:01
the
3:01
end
3:01
of,
3:02
well,
3:02
actually
3:03
beginning
3:03
of
3:03
May,
3:04
we
3:05
got
3:05
blown
3:05
out
3:06
and
3:06
I
3:06
thought
3:07
all
3:08
those
3:08
fish
3:08
were
3:08
going
3:08
to
3:09
disappear
3:09
because
3:09
there
3:10
was
3:10
no
3:10
new
3:10
fish
3:10
coming
3:11
in.
3:11
And
3:11
I
3:12
had
3:12
heard
3:12
reports
3:12
from
3:12
some
3:13
guys
3:13
that
3:13
said
3:14
the
3:14
fish
3:14
are
3:15
spawning
3:15
on
3:15
some
3:15
of
3:15
the
3:15
bigger
3:16
rivers
3:16
because
3:16
they
3:16
weren't
3:17
coming
3:17
up.
3:17
And
3:17
you
3:18
know,
3:18
honestly,
3:18
after
3:19
that
3:19
water
3:19
went
3:19
down,
3:19
I
3:20
told
3:20
my
3:20
one
3:20
client,
3:20
I
3:21
said,
3:21
you
3:21
know,
3:21
we
3:21
might
3:21
just
3:21
be
3:22
catching
3:22
little
3:22
fish.
3:23
I
3:23
don't
3:23
know
3:23
what's
3:23
in
3:23
here.
3:24
And
3:24
it
3:24
was
3:24
just
3:24
bonkers
3:25
for
3:25
the
3:25
next
3:25
two
3:26
weeks.
3:26
So
3:26
we
3:26
got
3:26
a
3:27
fresh
3:27
push
3:28
of
3:28
fish
3:28
that
3:28
came
3:29
in.
3:30
I
3:30
was
3:30
on
3:30
the
3:30
water
3:31
last
3:31
Friday
3:33
and
3:34
we
3:35
had
3:35
fish
3:35
still
3:36
on
3:36
beds
3:36
on
3:36
some
3:36
of
3:36
the
3:37
creeks.
3:37
So
3:37
there
3:37
was,
3:38
there's
3:38
been
3:38
a.
3:39
Another
3:39
wave
3:40
of
3:40
fish
3:40
that
3:40
came
3:40
in
3:41
the
3:41
last
3:41
couple
3:41
weeks
3:41
too.
3:42
So
3:42
it's,
3:42
it's.
3:42
It's
3:43
been
3:43
a,
3:43
an
3:44
interesting,
3:44
an
3:44
interesting
3:45
year
3:45
for
3:45
sure.
3:46
But
3:46
this
3:46
is
3:46
the
3:46
first
3:47
time
3:47
that
3:47
I've
3:47
been
3:47
able
3:47
to
3:48
fish
3:48
the
3:48
smaller
3:49
creeks
3:49
into
3:49
the
3:49
middle
3:50
of
3:50
June
3:50
in
3:51
probably
3:51
six
3:52
years.
3:52
So
3:53
it's
3:54
been.
3:54
Been
3:54
all
3:54
right.
3:55
Yeah,
3:56
that's
3:56
pretty
3:56
neat.
3:56
So
3:56
I
3:56
guess
3:57
you're
3:57
a
3:57
little
3:57
bit
3:57
different
3:58
than
3:58
maybe
3:58
the
3:58
Midwest
3:59
or
3:59
kind
3:59
of
3:59
down
3:59
where
4:00
I
4:00
am
4:00
that
4:00
you
4:00
have,
4:01
you
4:01
know,
4:01
like
4:01
the
4:02
Susquehanna
4:02
is
4:02
huge,
4:03
right.
4:03
So
4:03
you've
4:04
got
4:04
a
4:04
lot
4:04
of
4:04
tributary.
4:05
So
4:05
you
4:05
actually
4:05
have
4:06
maybe
4:06
some
4:07
more
4:07
kind
4:07
of
4:08
small
4:08
water
4:08
options
4:08
than
4:09
we
4:09
have
4:09
down
4:09
here
4:09
in
4:09
the
4:09
mid
4:10
Atlantic.
4:11
Yeah,
4:12
I
4:12
mean
4:12
in
4:12
our,
4:12
our
4:13
spring
4:13
season,
4:13
basically
4:14
mid
4:14
March
4:14
until
4:15
at
4:16
least
4:16
this
4:16
year
4:17
mid
4:17
June,
4:18
we're
4:19
pretty
4:19
much
4:19
fishing.
4:20
Most
4:20
of
4:20
us
4:20
are
4:21
pretty
4:21
much
4:21
fishing
4:21
all
4:22
the
4:22
smaller
4:22
creeks.
4:23
And
4:23
I'll
4:23
be
4:23
honest,
4:23
it's.
4:24
It's
4:24
so
4:25
much
4:25
fun.
4:25
If
4:26
I
4:26
could
4:26
fish
4:26
the
4:26
small
4:27
creeks
4:27
all
4:27
year
4:27
long,
4:28
I
4:28
would,
4:28
but
4:29
you
4:29
know,
4:29
they
4:29
are,
4:30
you
4:30
know,
4:30
very
4:32
rain
4:33
in
4:33
rain
4:34
influence.
4:34
So
4:35
you
4:35
know,
4:35
they
4:36
get
4:36
pretty
4:36
unflowable
4:37
by,
4:37
by
4:38
July.
4:38
So
4:39
we're
4:39
back
4:39
to
4:39
the
4:39
big
4:39
water.
4:40
But
4:40
yeah,
4:40
it's
4:40
a,
4:40
it's
4:41
a
4:41
different
4:41
fishery
4:41
than
4:42
some
4:42
of
4:42
the
4:42
western
4:42
stuff
4:43
that
4:43
I've
4:43
done
4:43
or
4:43
the
4:43
Midwest
4:44
stuff
4:44
that
4:44
I've
4:44
done
4:45
where,
4:46
you
4:46
know,
4:46
you're
4:46
kind
4:46
of
4:46
Changing
4:47
locations
4:47
as
4:48
the
4:48
season
4:48
progresses,
4:49
which
4:49
is
4:49
kind
4:50
of
4:50
fun.
4:50
It
4:50
gives
4:50
you
4:51
a
4:51
different,
4:52
you
4:52
know,
4:52
view
4:52
of
4:53
scenery
4:54
throughout
4:54
the
4:54
year.
4:55
So.
4:56
Yeah,
4:56
it
4:56
keeps
4:56
you
4:56
from
4:56
getting
4:57
on
4:57
a
4:57
first
4:57
name
4:57
basis
4:58
with
4:58
people
4:58
at
4:58
takeouts
4:59
that
4:59
are
5:00
doing
5:00
things
5:00
they
5:00
shouldn't
5:01
do
5:01
at
5:01
boat
5:01
ramps.
5:01
Right,
5:02
exactly.
5:03
Yeah.
5:03
I
5:03
mean
5:04
we
5:04
have,
5:05
we
5:05
have
5:05
about
5:05
seven
5:06
different
5:06
tributaries
5:07
that
5:07
we
5:07
float.
5:08
So
5:09
one
5:09
really
5:09
neat
5:10
thing
5:10
that,
5:10
that
5:11
happens
5:11
down
5:11
here
5:11
is
5:12
at
5:12
least
5:12
in
5:13
the
5:13
past,
5:13
this
5:13
year
5:13
was
5:13
a
5:14
little
5:14
weird.
5:14
But
5:15
a
5:15
lot
5:15
of
5:15
times
5:16
in
5:17
the
5:17
southern
5:18
end
5:18
of,
5:19
you
5:19
know,
5:19
the
5:19
fish
5:19
of
5:20
the
5:20
system,
5:20
we've
5:21
got
5:21
fish
5:21
that
5:22
spawn,
5:22
you
5:23
know,
5:23
towards
5:23
the
5:23
end
5:23
of.
5:24
Typically
5:24
towards
5:25
the
5:25
end
5:25
of
5:25
April.
5:26
And
5:27
then
5:27
some
5:27
of
5:27
the
5:27
northern
5:27
creeks,
5:28
the
5:28
fish
5:28
are
5:28
just
5:29
starting
5:29
to
5:29
come
5:29
in.
5:29
So
5:30
we
5:30
have
5:31
the
5:31
ability
5:31
to
5:31
fish
5:32
for
5:32
three
5:32
and
5:32
a
5:32
half
5:32
months
5:33
basically
5:35
over
5:35
fresh
5:36
fish
5:36
or
5:36
falling
5:37
back
5:37
fish.
5:37
And
5:37
we
5:37
never
5:38
have
5:38
to
5:38
worry
5:38
about
5:38
fishing
5:39
over
5:39
the
5:39
spawn
5:39
because
5:40
we've
5:40
got
5:40
so
5:40
many
5:40
different
5:41
creeks
5:41
that
5:41
are
5:41
different,
5:42
you
5:42
know,
5:42
water
5:42
temperatures
5:43
and
5:43
levels
5:43
and
5:44
stuff.
5:44
So
5:44
it's
5:45
a
5:45
pretty,
5:45
it's
5:45
a
5:46
pretty
5:46
unique,
5:46
you
5:47
know,
5:47
fishery
5:47
for
5:48
sure.
5:48
And
5:48
if
5:48
you're
5:48
willing
5:49
to
5:49
drive,
5:49
you
5:49
can,
5:49
you
5:50
know,
5:50
drive
5:50
two
5:50
hours
5:51
to
5:51
get
5:51
to
5:51
some
5:51
of
5:51
these
5:52
creeks.
5:52
And
5:52
you
5:53
know,
5:53
typically
5:53
the
5:53
further
5:54
you
5:54
are
5:54
from
5:54
Harrisburg,
5:55
the
5:55
less
5:55
people
5:56
you're
5:56
going
5:56
to
5:56
see.
5:56
So
5:58
me
5:58
personally,
5:58
I'm.
5:59
I
5:59
like
5:59
making
5:59
that
6:00
drive.
6:00
Even
6:00
though
6:01
at
6:01
the
6:01
end
6:01
of
6:01
the
6:01
day
6:02
it
6:02
kind
6:02
of
6:02
wears
6:03
on
6:03
you.
6:03
But
6:03
you
6:04
know,
6:04
it's
6:04
part
6:04
of,
6:05
part
6:05
of
6:05
the
6:05
gig.
6:06
Yeah,
6:06
there
6:06
you
6:06
go.
6:07
And
6:07
so
6:07
it's
6:07
interesting
6:07
because
6:08
I
6:08
know
6:08
that
6:08
like
6:08
the
6:09
funky
6:09
spring
6:09
weather
6:10
we
6:10
had,
6:10
it
6:10
is
6:10
kind
6:11
of.
6:12
You
6:12
made
6:12
the
6:13
periodical
6:13
cicada
6:14
hatch
6:14
kind
6:14
of
6:15
atypical
6:15
this
6:16
year.
6:16
But
6:17
I
6:17
do
6:17
know
6:17
that
6:17
they're
6:18
kind
6:18
of
6:18
firing
6:18
up
6:18
in
6:18
your
6:19
part
6:19
of
6:19
the
6:19
world
6:19
and.
6:19
But
6:20
I
6:20
know
6:20
there's
6:20
also,
6:21
you
6:21
know,
6:21
some
6:22
small
6:22
mouth
6:22
guys
6:22
don't
6:22
really
6:23
care
6:23
about
6:23
the
6:23
periodicals
6:24
and
6:24
it's
6:24
really
6:24
a
6:24
carp
6:25
guy
6:25
thing,
6:25
you
6:25
know,
6:25
kind
6:26
of.
6:26
Where
6:26
do
6:26
you
6:26
come
6:26
down
6:26
on
6:26
that,
6:28
man?
6:29
I'll.
6:29
Anything
6:30
that'll
6:30
get
6:30
a
6:30
bass
6:31
to
6:31
rise,
6:31
I'll.
6:32
I'll
6:32
take
6:32
it.
6:33
We
6:33
don't
6:34
have.
6:34
So
6:35
we
6:35
had
6:35
our
6:35
periodicals
6:36
down
6:37
in
6:37
kind
6:37
of
6:37
the
6:37
Harrisburg
6:38
area
6:40
three
6:40
years
6:41
ago.
6:41
Two,
6:42
two
6:42
or
6:42
three
6:42
years
6:42
ago.
6:43
And
6:43
unfortunately
6:44
the
6:44
entire
6:45
time
6:45
the
6:45
water
6:45
was
6:45
blown
6:46
out.
6:46
But,
6:48
but
6:48
where
6:49
the
6:49
state
6:49
college
6:50
areas
6:50
got
6:50
them
6:50
pretty
6:51
heavy
6:51
and
6:51
the,
6:51
the
6:51
upper
6:52
end
6:52
of
6:52
the
6:52
juniata
6:53
is
6:53
going
6:53
to
6:53
have
6:53
them.
6:54
I'm
6:54
actually,
6:55
you
6:55
know,
6:55
if
6:55
there
6:56
were
6:56
bass
6:56
on
6:56
them,
6:57
I'd
6:57
be
6:57
all
6:57
about
6:58
it.
6:58
But
6:58
I'm
6:59
actually
6:59
getting
6:59
ready
6:59
to
6:59
take
7:00
my
7:00
flats
7:00
boat
7:00
up
7:01
to
7:01
state
7:01
College
7:01
and
7:02
fish
7:02
a
7:02
Couple
7:02
of
7:02
lakes
7:03
up
7:03
there
7:03
on
7:03
the
7:03
flats
7:04
for,
7:04
for
7:05
carp
7:05
and
7:06
largemouth.
7:06
But
7:07
yeah,
7:08
so,
7:08
I
7:08
mean,
7:08
if
7:09
we
7:09
had
7:09
them
7:09
in
7:10
the
7:10
bass
7:10
horizon,
7:11
I'd
7:11
be
7:11
all
7:11
about
7:11
it.
7:11
I
7:12
mean,
7:12
we,
7:12
I
7:12
definitely
7:12
tried
7:13
to
7:13
follow
7:13
it
7:14
really
7:14
closely
7:15
when
7:15
it
7:15
was
7:15
closer
7:15
to
7:16
us
7:16
and
7:16
on
7:16
the
7:16
majority
7:17
of
7:17
the
7:17
juniata.
7:18
But
7:19
we
7:19
are
7:19
blessed
7:20
that,
7:20
you
7:21
know,
7:21
we
7:21
have
7:21
a
7:21
three
7:21
year
7:22
difference
7:22
between
7:23
the
7:23
State
7:23
College
7:24
17
7:24
year
7:25
hatch
7:25
and
7:26
the
7:26
Cumberland
7:26
Valley
7:27
17
7:27
year
7:27
hatch.
7:28
So
7:28
it's
7:28
kind
7:28
of
7:28
neat
7:28
that
7:29
you
7:29
get,
7:29
you
7:29
know,
7:30
you
7:30
don't
7:30
have
7:30
to
7:30
wait
7:31
a
7:31
full
7:31
17
7:31
years
7:31
to
7:32
fish
7:32
them.
7:32
Yeah.
7:33
And
7:33
so
7:33
I
7:33
guess,
7:33
you
7:34
know,
7:34
would
7:34
you
7:34
rather,
7:34
you
7:35
know,
7:35
when
7:35
the
7:35
cicadas
7:36
are
7:36
out,
7:36
would
7:36
you
7:36
rather
7:37
chase
7:37
carp
7:37
or
7:37
would
7:37
you
7:37
rather
7:38
chase
7:38
bass?
7:41
Oh,
7:41
that's
7:41
a,
7:42
that's
7:42
a
7:42
tough
7:42
question.
7:44
Definitely
7:45
bass,
7:47
for
7:47
sure.
7:47
Definitely
7:48
bass.
7:48
However,
7:49
carp
7:49
would
7:50
be
7:50
a
7:50
very
7:50
close
7:50
second
7:51
because,
7:51
you
7:51
know,
7:52
the
7:52
carp
7:52
where
7:53
we
7:53
are,
7:53
especially
7:54
on
7:54
the
7:54
bigger
7:54
rivers,
7:55
are
7:55
super
7:55
hard
7:56
to
7:56
catch
7:56
in
7:56
the
7:56
summertime.
7:57
They're
7:57
very
7:57
weary.
7:58
And
7:58
if
7:58
you're
7:58
trying
7:59
to
7:59
do
7:59
it
7:59
in
8:00
a
8:00
boat,
8:00
it's
8:00
almost
8:01
impossible.
8:02
So
8:02
whenever
8:03
we
8:03
get
8:03
a
8:03
chance
8:04
where
8:04
it's
8:04
quote
8:04
unquote
8:05
easier,
8:06
you
8:06
know,
8:06
I
8:06
jump
8:07
on
8:07
that
8:08
and,
8:08
you
8:08
know,
8:08
I
8:09
spend
8:09
a
8:09
little
8:09
bit
8:09
of
8:09
time
8:10
down
8:10
in
8:10
Florida
8:10
chasing
8:11
redfish.
8:11
So
8:12
this
8:12
is
8:13
a
8:13
good,
8:13
you
8:14
know,
8:14
kind
8:14
of
8:15
substitute
8:15
for
8:15
that
8:16
up
8:16
here
8:16
and
8:16
just
8:17
kind
8:17
of
8:17
running
8:17
around
8:17
and
8:18
fishing
8:18
some
8:18
of
8:18
the
8:18
flats
8:19
and
8:19
the
8:19
edges
8:19
of
8:19
water.
8:20
And
8:20
so,
8:21
yeah,
8:21
that's
8:22
for
8:22
sure.
8:22
Car.
8:23
Very
8:23
close
8:23
second.
8:24
There
8:24
you
8:25
go.
8:25
And
8:25
so,
8:25
you
8:25
know,
8:25
we're
8:26
recording
8:26
here
8:26
almost
8:27
in
8:27
the
8:27
middle
8:27
of
8:27
June,
8:28
which
8:28
is
8:28
kind
8:28
of,
8:29
you
8:29
know,
8:29
the
8:29
jumping
8:30
off
8:30
place
8:30
kind
8:30
of
8:30
in
8:30
our
8:31
part
8:31
of
8:31
the
8:31
world
8:31
for
8:31
kind
8:32
of
8:32
the
8:32
thick
8:32
of,
8:33
you
8:33
know,
8:34
summer
8:34
fishing.
8:34
And
8:34
that
8:35
means
8:35
top
8:35
water
8:35
for
8:36
smallmouth.
8:36
And,
8:37
you
8:37
know,
8:37
we'll
8:37
get
8:37
to
8:38
the
8:38
bug
8:38
stuff
8:38
in
8:38
a
8:39
minute.
8:39
But
8:39
I
8:39
also
8:39
know
8:40
that
8:40
you,
8:41
that
8:41
you
8:41
like
8:41
to
8:42
fish
8:42
top
8:42
water
8:42
frogs
8:43
for
8:43
smallmouth.
8:43
When's
8:44
the
8:44
best
8:44
time
8:44
to
8:45
chase
8:45
smallmouth
8:45
with
8:46
a
8:46
frog?
8:47
Right
8:48
now.
8:50
Honestly,
8:51
one
8:51
of
8:51
the
8:51
things
8:52
that
8:52
I
8:52
started
8:52
talking
8:53
about
8:53
recently
8:53
in
8:54
some
8:54
of
8:54
my
8:54
presentations
8:54
is
8:55
that
8:56
May
8:56
and
8:57
June
8:57
are
8:58
two
8:58
of
8:58
the
8:58
best
8:58
frog
8:59
months
8:59
when
8:59
it
8:59
comes
8:59
to
9:00
fishing
9:00
for
9:00
smallmouth.
9:01
I
9:02
know
9:02
the
9:02
guys
9:02
in
9:02
the
9:02
Midwest
9:03
do
9:03
it
9:03
a
9:03
lot
9:04
because
9:05
there's
9:06
frogs
9:06
up
9:06
there
9:06
pretty
9:07
regularly.
9:07
But
9:07
one
9:07
thing
9:08
that's
9:08
super
9:08
interesting
9:09
about,
9:09
you
9:09
know,
9:10
our
9:10
ecosystem
9:11
is
9:11
that
9:11
the
9:11
frogs
9:12
and
9:12
the
9:12
toads
9:13
are
9:13
mating
9:14
at
9:14
the
9:15
same
9:15
time
9:15
that
9:16
the
9:16
smallmouth
9:16
are
9:17
migrating
9:17
to
9:17
spawn.
9:18
So,
9:18
you
9:18
know,
9:19
talking
9:19
about
9:19
matching
9:20
the
9:20
hatch
9:20
in,
9:20
you
9:21
know,
9:21
some
9:21
way,
9:22
the
9:22
frogs
9:23
are
9:23
around
9:24
and
9:24
the
9:24
bats
9:25
are
9:25
willing
9:25
to
9:25
eat
9:25
them.
9:25
So
9:26
if
9:26
you
9:26
can
9:26
get
9:26
water
9:26
temps
9:27
in
9:27
the,
9:27
you
9:28
know,
9:28
low
9:28
to
9:28
mid-60s.
9:29
You
9:29
should.
9:30
You
9:30
can
9:30
have
9:30
absolute
9:31
banner
9:31
days
9:32
on.
9:32
On
9:32
frogs
9:33
this
9:33
time
9:33
of
9:33
year.
9:34
So
9:34
it's
9:34
also
9:36
typically
9:36
when
9:36
the
9:36
water
9:36
flows
9:37
are
9:37
a
9:37
little
9:37
heavier.
9:37
And
9:38
now
9:38
that
9:38
the
9:39
fishing
9:39
pressure's
9:40
gotten,
9:40
you
9:40
know,
9:40
greater
9:41
in
9:41
the
9:41
last
9:42
10
9:42
years,
9:44
those
9:44
bass
9:44
don't
9:44
react
9:45
to
9:45
frogs
9:46
quite
9:46
as
9:46
well
9:46
as
9:47
they
9:47
used
9:47
to
9:47
when
9:47
the
9:47
water
9:48
gets
9:48
low
9:48
and
9:48
clear.
9:49
So
9:49
when,
9:50
you
9:50
know,
9:50
early
9:50
season,
9:51
May,
9:52
June,
9:53
July,
9:53
early
9:53
July,
9:54
when
9:54
the
9:54
water's,
9:55
you
9:55
know,
9:55
kind
9:55
of
9:56
typically
9:56
on
9:56
the
9:56
higher
9:57
level,
9:57
those
9:57
fish
9:58
can
9:58
tend
9:58
to
9:58
eat
9:59
a
9:59
little
9:59
bit
9:59
more
10:00
aggressively
10:01
on
10:01
top.
10:01
So
10:01
you
10:02
can
10:02
get
10:02
away
10:02
with
10:02
frogs.
10:03
Uh,
10:03
got
10:03
it.
10:04
And
10:04
so
10:04
how
10:04
long
10:04
does
10:04
your
10:05
frog
10:05
hatch
10:05
last?
10:07
Uh,
10:07
honestly,
10:08
it's
10:08
kind
10:08
of
10:09
interesting
10:09
that
10:09
the
10:10
frogs
10:10
kind
10:10
of
10:10
mate
10:11
first
10:11
and
10:11
then
10:11
the
10:11
toad
10:12
start.
10:12
I'm
10:13
not
10:13
really
10:13
sure
10:13
if
10:13
fish
10:14
know
10:14
the
10:14
difference
10:14
between
10:15
a
10:15
frog
10:15
and
10:15
a
10:15
toad,
10:16
but
10:16
the
10:16
toads
10:17
are
10:17
spawning
10:17
right
10:17
now,
10:18
so
10:19
I'd
10:19
say
10:19
two
10:19
months.
10:20
Two
10:20
to
10:20
two
10:20
and
10:21
a
10:21
half
10:21
months
10:21
is
10:21
the.
10:22
The
10:22
season
10:22
we
10:22
have
10:23
for
10:23
good
10:23
frog
10:24
fishing.
10:25
And
10:25
so
10:25
is
10:26
it.
10:26
Is
10:26
it
10:26
something
10:26
that,
10:27
you
10:27
know,
10:28
I
10:28
don't
10:29
know,
10:29
like,
10:29
they're
10:29
on
10:29
them,
10:29
like
10:30
they'll
10:30
be
10:30
on
10:30
cicadas,
10:31
or
10:31
is
10:31
it
10:31
something
10:31
like
10:31
you're
10:32
fishing,
10:32
you're
10:32
like,
10:32
well,
10:32
let's
10:33
see
10:33
if
10:33
we
10:33
can
10:33
get
10:33
them
10:33
on
10:33
a
10:33
frog
10:34
today?
10:34
I
10:34
mean,
10:34
kind
10:34
of.
10:34
How
10:34
does
10:35
that
10:35
work?
10:36
I
10:36
think
10:37
it
10:37
directly
10:38
relates
10:38
to
10:39
water
10:39
temperature.
10:40
So,
10:40
you
10:40
know,
10:41
once
10:41
you
10:41
start
10:42
to
10:42
see,
10:43
like
10:43
I
10:43
said,
10:43
that
10:43
water
10:44
in
10:44
that
10:44
mid-60s
10:45
range
10:46
and
10:46
the
10:47
water,
10:47
you
10:47
know,
10:48
levels
10:49
or
10:49
the
10:49
clarity
10:50
of
10:50
the
10:50
water
10:50
is
10:51
kind
10:51
of
10:51
that
10:51
more,
10:52
you
10:52
know,
10:52
as
10:52
we
10:52
call,
10:53
like,
10:53
a
10:53
big
10:53
fish
10:53
green,
10:53
where
10:54
there's
10:54
like
10:54
two
10:54
or
10:54
three
10:55
feet
10:55
of
10:55
visibility
10:55
but
10:56
not
10:56
like,
10:56
gin
10:57
clear.
10:58
I.
10:58
I
10:58
would
10:59
say
10:59
it's
10:59
more
10:59
of,
10:59
like,
11:00
you
11:00
start
11:00
to
11:01
hear
11:01
them,
11:01
and
11:02
then
11:02
when
11:02
the
11:02
conditions
11:03
are
11:03
right,
11:03
you
11:04
start
11:04
throwing
11:04
them.
11:04
And
11:05
so,
11:06
you
11:06
know,
11:06
the
11:06
other
11:06
thing
11:07
is
11:07
some
11:07
of
11:07
the
11:07
creeks
11:08
that
11:08
we
11:08
float
11:08
in
11:09
the
11:09
springtime
11:10
also
11:10
have
11:10
really
11:11
great
11:11
trout
11:11
fisheries.
11:12
Autumn
11:13
on
11:13
the
11:13
upper
11:13
ends
11:14
of
11:14
the
11:14
creeks.
11:14
And
11:14
so
11:15
they've
11:15
got
11:15
all
11:15
the
11:15
different
11:16
mayflies
11:16
and
11:17
stuff.
11:17
And
11:17
so
11:17
as
11:17
soon
11:17
as
11:18
you
11:18
start
11:18
to
11:18
see,
11:19
you
11:19
know,
11:19
bass
11:20
rising
11:20
to
11:21
mayflies,
11:22
it's
11:22
a
11:22
great
11:22
time
11:22
to
11:23
start
11:23
fishing
11:23
frogs
11:24
because,
11:24
you
11:24
know,
11:24
they've
11:24
got
11:24
it
11:25
enough,
11:26
you
11:26
know,
11:26
the
11:27
water's
11:27
warm
11:27
enough
11:28
that
11:28
their
11:28
metabolism
11:29
and
11:29
their
11:29
energy
11:30
levels
11:30
up,
11:31
you
11:31
know,
11:31
and
11:31
they're
11:31
willing
11:32
to
11:32
kind
11:32
of
11:32
start
11:32
jumping
11:33
on
11:33
those.
11:33
On
11:33
those
11:34
bugs
11:34
or
11:34
those
11:34
frogs,
11:35
so.
11:36
Got
11:36
it.
11:37
And
11:37
so
11:37
what
11:37
are
11:37
your
11:37
favorite
11:38
frog
11:38
flies?
11:40
My
11:40
favorite
11:41
is
11:42
honestly,
11:42
the
11:42
umpqua
11:43
sling
11:43
frog,
11:44
the
11:44
kind
11:44
of
11:44
Dave
11:45
whitlock.
11:47
And
11:48
what's
11:48
the
11:49
other
11:49
guy's
11:49
name?
11:51
Larry
11:51
Delberg.
11:52
So
11:52
Larry
11:52
Delberg
11:53
and,
11:54
and
11:54
Dave
11:54
Woodlock
11:54
were
11:55
kind
11:55
of
11:55
the
11:55
first
11:55
two
11:55
to
11:55
pioneer
11:56
the,
11:57
the
11:57
slider
11:57
style
11:58
frog.
11:58
And
11:59
so,
11:59
you
11:59
know,
11:59
for
12:00
me,
12:00
there's
12:01
so
12:01
many
12:01
different
12:01
bugs
12:02
out
12:02
there
12:02
and
12:02
there's
12:03
so
12:03
many
12:03
different,
12:04
you
12:04
know,
12:04
deer
12:04
hair
12:05
frogs.
12:06
The
12:06
thing
12:06
that
12:06
I
12:06
like
12:07
the
12:07
most
12:07
about
12:07
the
12:08
Umpqua
12:08
swimming
12:08
frog
12:09
is
12:09
how
12:09
thin
12:10
the
12:10
head
12:10
is.
12:12
When
12:12
you're
12:12
throwing
12:12
a
12:12
bigger
12:13
bug,
12:13
it
12:13
takes
12:13
longer
12:14
for
12:14
that
12:14
fish
12:14
to
12:14
get
12:14
it
12:14
in
12:15
its
12:15
mouth.
12:15
And
12:15
so
12:16
when
12:16
you've
12:16
got
12:16
some
12:17
of
12:17
those,
12:17
you
12:18
know,
12:18
kind
12:18
of
12:18
more
12:18
bulky
12:19
headed
12:19
flies,
12:20
your
12:20
hookup
12:21
ratio
12:21
goes
12:22
down
12:22
significantly.
12:23
But
12:23
those
12:23
Umpqua
12:24
swimming
12:24
frogs
12:24
seem
12:25
to
12:25
kind
12:25
of
12:26
get
12:26
wedged
12:26
in
12:26
their
12:26
mouth
12:27
a
12:27
lot
12:27
easier.
12:28
And
12:28
then,
12:29
you
12:29
know,
12:29
I
12:29
get
12:29
into
12:30
some
12:30
of
12:30
the
12:30
foam
12:30
stuff.
12:31
I
12:31
do
12:31
a
12:31
lot
12:32
of
12:32
the
12:33
double
12:33
barrel
12:34
poppers
12:35
in
12:35
chartreuse
12:36
and
12:36
yellow
12:36
and
12:36
just
12:37
kind
12:37
of
12:37
high.
12:37
A
12:38
traditional
12:39
popper
12:39
with
12:40
legs
12:40
coming,
12:40
our
12:41
feathers
12:42
coming
12:42
off
12:42
the
12:42
back
12:42
as
12:43
legs.
12:44
Those
12:44
work
12:44
really
12:45
well.
12:45
But
12:45
honestly,
12:46
we
12:46
don't
12:46
get
12:46
a
12:46
lot
12:47
of
12:47
opportunity
12:47
to
12:48
throw
12:48
deer
12:48
here.
12:48
So
12:49
whenever
12:49
we're
12:49
sprog
12:50
fishing,
12:50
I
12:50
always
12:51
have
12:51
the
12:51
uncle.
12:52
Swimming
12:52
frogs
12:52
is
12:52
my
12:53
first
12:53
go
12:53
to.
12:55
Got
12:55
it.
12:55
And
12:55
so
12:56
how
12:56
do
12:56
you
12:56
like
12:56
to
12:56
present
12:57
the
12:57
frog?
12:59
Oh,
12:59
man,
13:00
if
13:00
I
13:00
can
13:00
throw
13:01
it
13:01
and
13:01
I
13:01
can
13:02
present
13:02
it
13:02
super
13:02
aggressively,
13:03
that's
13:03
what
13:03
I
13:04
want
13:04
to
13:04
do.
13:05
Because,
13:06
you
13:07
know,
13:07
frogs
13:07
aren't
13:08
actually
13:08
that
13:08
great
13:08
of
13:09
swimmers
13:09
for
13:09
like
13:10
long
13:10
distances.
13:10
So
13:11
like,
13:11
you
13:11
know,
13:12
when
13:12
you're
13:12
fishing
13:12
a
13:12
frog
13:13
and
13:13
you
13:13
throw
13:14
directly,
13:15
you
13:15
know,
13:15
inches
13:16
off
13:16
the
13:16
bank
13:16
and
13:17
then
13:17
you,
13:18
you
13:18
know,
13:18
pop
13:18
it.
13:19
What?
13:19
Well,
13:20
let
13:20
me
13:20
back
13:20
up.
13:20
What
13:20
I
13:21
like
13:21
to
13:21
do
13:21
is
13:21
let
13:21
it
13:22
hit
13:22
the
13:22
water,
13:23
let
13:23
the
13:23
rings
13:23
dissipate,
13:24
and
13:25
a
13:25
lot
13:25
of
13:25
times
13:25
before
13:26
you
13:26
even
13:26
get
13:26
a
13:26
chance
13:27
to
13:27
pop
13:27
it
13:27
once
13:28
a
13:28
fish
13:28
is
13:28
on
13:28
it.
13:30
But
13:30
if,
13:31
if
13:31
the
13:31
water
13:32
conditions
13:32
are
13:32
right
13:33
and
13:33
they're
13:33
a
13:33
little
13:33
bit
13:33
higher,
13:34
a
13:34
little
13:34
bit
13:34
dirtier.
13:35
I
13:35
like
13:35
to
13:36
be
13:36
pretty
13:36
aggressive
13:36
with
13:37
the
13:37
frogs,
13:37
but
13:37
definitely
13:38
not
13:39
as
13:39
aggressive
13:40
as
13:40
we
13:40
used
13:41
to
13:41
or
13:41
as
13:41
aggressive
13:42
as
13:42
some
13:42
people
13:42
do
13:42
with
13:42
like,
13:43
large
13:43
mouth
13:44
where
13:44
it's
13:44
kind
13:44
of
13:44
a
13:45
constant
13:45
bloop,
13:45
bloop,
13:46
bloop,
13:46
bloop,
13:46
bloop.
13:47
I
13:48
like
13:48
to
13:48
pop
13:48
it
13:49
pretty
13:49
hard
13:49
and
13:50
let
13:50
it
13:50
sit
13:50
for
13:50
two
13:50
or
13:51
three
13:51
seconds.
13:51
Pop
13:52
it,
13:52
let
13:52
it
13:52
sit
13:53
for
13:53
two
13:53
or
13:53
three
13:53
seconds.
13:54
Or
13:54
if
13:54
the
13:54
water
13:54
is
13:55
a
13:55
little
13:55
lower,
13:56
then
13:56
I
13:56
just
13:56
like
13:56
to
13:57
pull
13:57
it.
13:57
I
13:57
like
13:57
to
13:58
create
13:58
the
13:58
wake.
13:59
But
13:59
just
14:00
like
14:00
fishing
14:00
a
14:00
streamer,
14:01
I
14:02
think
14:02
the
14:02
pause
14:03
is
14:03
what
14:03
gets
14:04
those
14:04
fish,
14:05
you
14:05
know,
14:05
going.
14:05
It's.
14:06
And
14:06
I
14:06
can,
14:06
I
14:07
can
14:07
probably
14:07
tell
14:08
you
14:08
that
14:09
80%
14:09
of
14:09
the
14:09
fish
14:10
that
14:10
we
14:10
catch
14:10
on
14:10
frogs
14:11
are
14:11
during
14:11
that
14:12
time
14:12
where
14:13
frog's
14:13
not
14:13
moving.
14:14
So.
14:15
And
14:15
it's
14:15
a
14:15
pretty
14:16
aggressive
14:16
eat
14:16
because
14:17
they're
14:17
like,
14:17
oh,
14:17
when's
14:17
it
14:17
gonna
14:18
move
14:18
again?
14:18
I
14:18
gotta
14:18
get
14:19
it
14:19
now.
14:19
So.
14:20
So
14:21
that's
14:21
how
14:21
I
14:21
do
14:21
it.
14:22
Yeah.
14:22
It's
14:23
interesting
14:23
because
14:23
I
14:23
kind
14:23
of
14:24
think
14:24
about,
14:24
you
14:24
know,
14:24
like,
14:24
watching
14:25
frogs
14:25
and
14:25
they
14:25
usually
14:26
when
14:26
they
14:26
swim,
14:26
it's
14:27
kind
14:27
of
14:27
like,
14:27
you
14:27
know,
14:28
they
14:28
go
14:28
under
14:28
and
14:28
kick
14:28
and
14:29
glide
14:29
and
14:29
come
14:29
back
14:29
up,
14:30
right?
14:31
And
14:31
it's
14:32
usually
14:32
not.
14:32
Not
14:33
sustained.
14:34
Right.
14:35
And.
14:35
And
14:36
it's
14:36
the
14:36
same
14:37
thing
14:37
with
14:37
mice.
14:37
You
14:37
know,
14:38
we
14:38
fish
14:38
a
14:38
lot
14:38
of
14:38
mice
14:38
for
14:39
bats,
14:39
too.
14:39
And,
14:41
you
14:41
know,
14:41
mice
14:41
are
14:42
kind
14:42
of
14:42
the
14:42
same.
14:43
They.
14:43
They
14:43
create
14:44
a
14:44
wake.
14:44
They
14:44
don't
14:45
create
14:45
a
14:45
lot
14:45
of,
14:45
you
14:46
know,
14:46
loud
14:46
noise.
14:47
So
14:47
as
14:47
long
14:47
as
14:47
you
14:47
can
14:48
create
14:48
that
14:48
disturbance
14:49
and
14:49
then
14:50
just
14:50
depending
14:50
on
14:51
what
14:51
your
14:51
flow
14:51
is
14:52
and
14:52
what
14:52
the
14:52
clarity
14:53
is,
14:54
directly
14:55
correlate
14:55
that
14:56
to
14:56
the
14:56
amount
14:57
of
14:57
noise
14:57
that
14:58
you
14:58
make
14:58
with
14:59
the
14:59
frog.
15:01
And
15:01
that's
15:01
going
15:01
to
15:01
get
15:01
you
15:02
the
15:02
most
15:02
eats.
15:02
And.
15:03
But
15:03
a
15:03
lot
15:03
of
15:03
times
15:04
when
15:04
they're
15:04
really
15:04
on
15:05
them,
15:06
you
15:06
literally
15:06
just
15:06
hit
15:07
the
15:07
water
15:07
with
15:07
the
15:07
frog
15:08
and
15:08
you
15:08
wait
15:08
two
15:08
seconds
15:09
and
15:09
you've
15:09
got
15:09
a
15:09
fish
15:09
on.
15:10
So
15:10
it's
15:10
like
15:10
sometimes
15:11
you
15:11
don't
15:11
even
15:11
get
15:11
a
15:11
chance
15:11
to
15:12
pop.
15:13
And
15:13
I
15:14
say
15:14
that
15:14
about
15:14
any
15:15
type
15:15
of
15:16
top
15:16
water.
15:17
I
15:17
might
15:17
be
15:17
jumping
15:17
ahead
15:18
here,
15:18
but,
15:18
like,
15:19
the
15:20
initial
15:20
plop
15:21
of
15:21
the
15:21
fly
15:22
hitting
15:22
the
15:22
water
15:23
is
15:23
the
15:23
most
15:24
realistic
15:24
sound
15:25
of
15:25
your
15:26
entire
15:26
presentation.
15:27
So
15:27
ride
15:28
that
15:28
out
15:28
as
15:29
long
15:29
as
15:29
you
15:29
can,
15:29
because
15:30
that's
15:30
what
15:30
those
15:31
fish
15:31
are
15:31
keen
15:31
in
15:31
on,
15:32
is
15:32
something
15:32
hitting
15:32
the
15:33
water.
15:35
Because
15:35
no
15:35
matter
15:35
whether
15:36
it's
15:36
a
15:36
cicada,
15:36
a
15:37
frog,
15:37
a
15:38
grasshopper,
15:39
they're
15:39
all
15:39
going
15:39
to
15:39
hit
15:39
the
15:40
water
15:40
and
15:40
create
15:40
some
15:40
disturbance
15:41
immediately.
15:42
And
15:42
then
15:42
after
15:43
that,
15:43
it's
15:43
kind
15:44
of
15:44
just
15:44
imitating
15:44
what,
15:45
you
15:45
know,
15:45
what
15:45
the
15:45
rest
15:46
of
15:46
that
15:46
bug
15:46
or
15:46
that
15:47
forage
15:47
food
15:48
does,
15:48
so.
15:49
Got
15:50
it.
15:50
And
15:50
so
15:50
when
15:50
you
15:51
want
15:51
to
15:51
wake,
15:51
are
15:51
you
15:52
slowly
15:52
stripping
15:52
the
15:53
fly?
15:53
Are
15:53
you
15:53
lifting
15:53
the
15:54
rod
15:54
and
15:54
kind
15:54
of
15:54
almost
15:55
pulling
15:55
the
15:55
fly
15:55
towards
15:56
you?
15:58
I
15:58
do
15:58
a
15:58
little
15:59
bit
15:59
of
15:59
both.
16:00
I
16:01
like
16:01
to
16:01
pull
16:01
the
16:02
fly
16:03
because
16:03
you're
16:04
connected
16:04
the
16:04
entire
16:05
time.
16:06
You
16:06
know,
16:07
if
16:07
you
16:07
lift
16:07
the
16:07
rod
16:08
and
16:08
then
16:08
drop
16:09
it,
16:09
you've
16:09
got
16:09
to
16:09
kind
16:10
of
16:10
be
16:10
on
16:10
it
16:11
to,
16:12
you
16:12
know,
16:12
pick
16:12
up
16:12
that
16:13
slack
16:13
because,
16:14
you
16:14
know,
16:14
a
16:14
lot
16:14
of
16:14
times
16:15
those
16:15
fish
16:15
eat
16:15
it
16:15
pretty
16:16
aggressively.
16:16
But
16:17
the
16:17
flip
16:17
side
16:17
of
16:18
that
16:18
is
16:18
that,
16:19
you
16:19
know,
16:19
just
16:19
like
16:20
a
16:20
big
16:20
brown
16:21
trout
16:21
eating
16:21
a
16:22
grasshopper
16:22
out
16:22
west,
16:23
like,
16:23
sometimes
16:24
the
16:24
longer
16:24
you
16:24
wait,
16:25
the
16:25
better
16:25
chance
16:25
you
16:25
have
16:26
to
16:26
hook
16:26
that
16:26
fish.
16:27
So
16:28
a
16:28
little
16:28
bit
16:29
of
16:29
slack's
16:29
not
16:29
bad.
16:29
But
16:30
typically
16:30
what
16:30
I
16:30
do
16:31
and
16:31
I
16:31
tell
16:31
most
16:32
my
16:32
clients
16:32
to
16:32
do
16:32
is
16:32
just
16:33
kind
16:33
of
16:34
a
16:34
12
16:34
to
16:35
18
16:35
inch
16:35
pull.
16:36
You
16:36
know,
16:36
just
16:36
like
16:36
you're
16:36
stripping
16:37
a
16:37
streamer
16:37
and
16:37
just
16:37
pull
16:38
it
16:38
and
16:38
let
16:38
it
16:39
sit.
16:40
If
16:41
we're
16:41
on
16:41
anchor,
16:42
that's
16:42
another
16:43
kind
16:43
of
16:43
interesting
16:43
way
16:44
to
16:44
do
16:44
it.
16:44
What
16:44
I
16:44
typically
16:45
do
16:45
is
16:45
have
16:46
the
16:46
my
16:47
either
16:47
myself
16:47
or
16:48
one
16:48
of
16:48
my
16:48
clients
16:48
cast
16:49
slightly
16:50
upstream
16:51
and
16:51
then
16:52
you're
16:52
presenting
16:53
that
16:53
fly
16:53
as
16:54
a
16:54
mend
16:54
instead
16:55
of
16:55
a
16:55
strip
16:55
so
16:55
you
16:55
can
16:56
get
16:56
a
16:56
longer
16:56
parallel
16:57
drift
16:57
to
16:58
the
16:58
bank
16:58
versus
16:59
like
16:59
stripping
16:59
it
17:00
off
17:00
the
17:00
bank
17:00
further
17:01
and
17:01
further
17:01
away.
17:01
You
17:01
can,
17:02
you
17:02
know,
17:02
kind
17:02
of
17:03
cast
17:03
it
17:03
upstream,
17:04
let
17:04
it
17:04
float
17:04
from
17:05
five
17:05
or
17:05
six,
17:05
you
17:06
know,
17:06
feet,
17:06
then
17:06
throw
17:07
another
17:07
mend
17:08
in
17:08
it.
17:08
A
17:08
little
17:08
men,
17:08
not
17:09
a
17:09
big
17:09
one,
17:10
little
17:10
men
17:10
in
17:10
it.
17:10
That
17:11
frog
17:11
slides
17:11
or
17:12
pops
17:12
a
17:12
little
17:12
bit,
17:13
you
17:13
pick
17:13
up
17:13
the
17:14
slack
17:14
and
17:14
now
17:14
you're
17:15
running
17:15
kind
17:15
of
17:15
like
17:15
you
17:15
said,
17:16
parallel
17:16
to
17:16
the
17:16
bank
17:17
for
17:17
longer.
17:18
And
17:18
that's
17:19
a
17:19
great
17:19
way
17:19
to
17:19
do
17:19
it
17:20
too.
17:20
So
17:20
instead
17:20
of
17:20
actually
17:21
stripping
17:21
it
17:21
in,
17:21
you're
17:22
mending
17:22
it,
17:22
picking
17:22
up
17:22
slack.
17:23
Mending
17:23
it,
17:23
picking
17:24
up
17:24
the
17:24
slack.
17:25
Got
17:26
it.
17:26
And
17:26
obviously
17:27
you're
17:27
fishing
17:27
them
17:27
on
17:27
a
17:27
floater,
17:28
but
17:28
kind
17:28
of
17:28
what's
17:29
your
17:29
preferred
17:29
kind
17:29
of
17:30
rod,
17:30
reel
17:30
and
17:31
line
17:31
and
17:31
leader
17:31
setup.
17:34
So
17:34
in
17:34
the
17:34
last
17:35
two
17:35
years
17:35
I've,
17:36
I've
17:36
really
17:37
got
17:37
into
17:37
like
17:37
the
17:38
seven
17:38
weights
17:38
for
17:38
that.
17:40
You
17:40
can
17:41
definitely
17:41
get
17:41
away
17:41
with
17:41
throwing
17:42
an
17:42
8
17:42
weight.
17:42
You
17:42
can
17:42
throw
17:43
a
17:43
6
17:43
weight
17:43
but
17:43
you
17:43
know,
17:44
frogs
17:44
are
17:44
kind
17:44
of
17:44
big.
17:45
So
17:46
I
17:46
think
17:46
the
17:46
seven
17:47
weight
17:47
gives
17:47
you
17:47
the
17:47
most
17:48
control
17:49
and
17:49
it
17:49
also
17:50
lands
17:51
on
17:51
the
17:51
water
17:51
a
17:51
little
17:52
bit
17:52
softer.
17:53
So
17:53
set
17:54
9
17:54
foot
17:54
7
17:54
weight
17:55
is
17:55
definitely
17:55
my
17:55
go
17:56
to
17:56
when
17:56
it
17:56
comes
17:56
to
17:56
frogs.
17:58
I
17:58
do
17:58
like
17:58
the
17:58
scientific
17:59
angler
17:59
bass
18:00
bug
18:00
line
18:00
for
18:00
fish
18:01
and
18:01
frogs.
18:02
That's
18:02
what
18:02
it
18:02
was
18:02
designed
18:03
for.
18:03
So
18:04
you
18:04
know
18:04
you
18:04
can
18:04
get
18:05
away
18:05
with
18:05
a,
18:05
a
18:06
seven
18:06
weight
18:06
line
18:07
which
18:07
is
18:07
technically
18:08
a
18:08
nine
18:08
weight.
18:09
There
18:09
be
18:10
a
18:10
grain
18:10
weight
18:10
for
18:11
the
18:11
line.
18:11
So
18:13
it's
18:14
just
18:14
turns
18:14
that
18:15
fly
18:15
over
18:15
a
18:15
distance
18:16
further.
18:16
When
18:17
I'm
18:17
fishing
18:17
frogs
18:19
leader
18:19
length,
18:20
I'm
18:21
typically
18:21
in
18:21
that
18:21
kind
18:22
of
18:22
eight
18:22
foot
18:22
range,
18:22
seven
18:23
and
18:23
a
18:23
half
18:23
to
18:23
eight
18:23
foot
18:24
range.
18:24
Because
18:25
the
18:25
bigger
18:25
the
18:25
bug,
18:26
this
18:26
is
18:26
one
18:27
of
18:27
my
18:27
kind
18:28
of
18:28
rules
18:28
of
18:28
thumbs
18:29
or
18:29
guidelines
18:30
is
18:30
the
18:31
bigger
18:31
the
18:31
fly,
18:32
the
18:32
shorter
18:32
the
18:32
leader
18:33
because
18:33
you
18:33
can't,
18:34
you
18:35
can't
18:35
turn
18:35
over
18:35
a
18:36
big
18:36
streamer,
18:36
you
18:36
can't
18:37
turn
18:37
over
18:37
a
18:37
big
18:37
frog
18:38
with
18:38
a
18:38
9,
18:39
10,
18:39
11
18:39
foot,
18:39
12
18:40
foot
18:40
leader.
18:40
So
18:41
typically
18:41
I
18:42
like
18:42
to
18:42
stay
18:42
in
18:42
that
18:42
8
18:43
foot
18:43
leader
18:43
section
18:44
or
18:44
length
18:45
for,
18:46
for
18:46
frogs.
18:47
So
18:47
9
18:47
foot
18:48
7
18:48
weight
18:48
scientific
18:49
angler
18:50
bass
18:50
bug
18:51
line
18:51
and
18:51
an
18:51
8
18:51
foot
18:52
leader
18:53
poundage
18:54
wise
18:54
for
18:54
the
18:54
tippet,
18:55
anywhere
18:55
from
18:56
12
18:56
to
18:56
20
18:56
pounds
18:57
just
18:57
depends
18:57
on,
18:58
you
18:58
know,
18:58
what
18:58
the
18:59
clarity
18:59
is
18:59
and
18:59
things
19:00
like
19:00
that.
19:00
So.
19:01
Got
19:02
it.
19:02
And
19:02
you
19:02
got
19:02
a
19:03
favorite
19:03
flavor
19:03
rod.
19:05
I
19:05
love
19:06
scott
19:06
rods.
19:07
That's
19:07
pretty
19:07
much
19:08
all
19:08
I
19:08
fish
19:08
now.
19:09
The
19:10
Scott
19:11
centric
19:12
9
19:12
foot
19:12
7
19:13
weight
19:13
in
19:13
my
19:13
opinion
19:14
is
19:14
one
19:14
of
19:14
the
19:14
most
19:15
fun
19:15
bass
19:15
rods
19:16
or
19:16
frog
19:17
rods
19:17
that
19:17
you
19:17
can
19:17
have.
19:18
It's,
19:18
you
19:18
know,
19:18
it's
19:18
definitely
19:19
got
19:19
a
19:19
little
19:19
bit
19:20
softer
19:20
of
19:20
a
19:20
tip
19:21
to
19:21
it,
19:21
but
19:22
it's
19:23
got
19:23
a
19:23
really
19:24
nice
19:24
backbone
19:25
to
19:25
turn
19:25
over
19:25
those,
19:25
turn
19:26
over
19:26
those
19:26
bugs.
19:27
So
19:27
it's
19:27
a
19:27
great
19:27
rod
19:28
for
19:28
that.
19:30
But
19:30
you
19:30
know,
19:31
any
19:32
fast
19:32
action
19:33
rod
19:33
is,
19:33
is
19:34
great.
19:34
But
19:34
scouts
19:35
are
19:35
definitely
19:35
the
19:35
only
19:35
thing
19:35
on
19:36
my
19:36
boat.
19:37
Well,
19:37
there
19:37
you
19:37
go.
19:37
Well,
19:38
before
19:38
we
19:38
get
19:38
to
19:38
bugs,
19:39
you
19:39
know,
19:39
what
19:39
other
19:39
kind
19:40
of
19:40
non
19:40
bug
19:41
top
19:41
water
19:41
situations
19:42
do
19:42
you
19:42
like
19:42
to
19:42
fish?
19:44
Oh,
19:45
non
19:45
bug
19:45
top
19:46
water.
19:49
So
19:51
the,
19:55
what
19:55
the
19:55
heck
19:55
is
19:55
that
19:56
thing
19:56
called?
19:57
There's
19:58
like
19:58
that,
19:58
that
19:59
foam
19:59
spook
20:00
that's
20:00
out
20:00
there,
20:01
that
20:02
fish
20:02
chase
20:03
flies
20:03
guy,
20:04
I
20:04
forget
20:04
his
20:04
name
20:05
but
20:05
he,
20:06
he
20:06
ties
20:06
those
20:06
things.
20:07
So
20:07
I'd
20:07
like,
20:07
I
20:08
like
20:08
to
20:08
throw
20:08
bait
20:09
fish
20:09
top
20:10
water,
20:10
especially
20:10
in
20:11
the
20:11
fall.
20:13
But
20:13
I've
20:13
gotten,
20:14
I've
20:14
gotten
20:14
into,
20:14
you
20:15
know,
20:15
kind
20:15
of
20:15
that
20:16
spook
20:16
kind
20:17
of
20:17
gliding
20:17
glide
20:18
bait,
20:18
if
20:18
you
20:18
will,
20:20
on
20:20
top,
20:20
which
20:21
is
20:21
super
20:21
fun.
20:22
But
20:22
that's
20:23
pretty
20:23
much
20:23
it.
20:23
I
20:23
mean
20:24
if
20:24
it's
20:24
not,
20:25
if
20:25
it's
20:25
not
20:25
some
20:26
sort
20:26
of
20:26
bug,
20:26
the
20:27
only
20:27
other
20:27
thing
20:27
would
20:27
be
20:28
just,
20:28
you
20:28
know,
20:28
if
20:29
we
20:29
don't
20:29
see
20:29
a
20:29
lot
20:29
going
20:29
on,
20:30
just
20:30
throwing
20:30
regular
20:30
poppers,
20:31
Google
20:31
bugs
20:32
and
20:32
things
20:32
like
20:32
that.
20:32
But
20:33
you
20:34
know,
20:34
I,
20:34
I
20:35
typically
20:35
try
20:36
to
20:37
imitate
20:38
whatever
20:38
is
20:39
around
20:40
and
20:40
if
20:40
I
20:40
don't
20:40
have
20:41
a
20:41
lot
20:41
of
20:41
stuff
20:41
or
20:42
you
20:42
know,
20:42
water
20:42
temps
20:42
are
20:43
different,
20:43
then
20:43
I
20:43
just
20:43
stay
20:44
subsurface
20:44
and
20:45
that'll
20:45
be
20:45
the
20:45
end
20:46
of
20:46
it.
20:46
So
20:47
yeah,
20:47
I
20:47
guess.
20:47
And
20:47
so
20:48
for
20:48
kind
20:48
of,
20:48
let's
20:48
just
20:48
say
20:49
the
20:49
standard
20:49
kind
20:50
of
20:50
non
20:50
summer
20:50
bug
20:51
stuff,
20:51
you
20:51
know,
20:51
do
20:51
you,
20:52
you
20:52
know,
20:52
do
20:52
you
20:52
prefer
20:53
open
20:53
face
20:54
poppers,
20:54
sliders?
20:55
I
20:55
mean,
20:55
is
20:55
there
20:56
a
20:56
kind
20:56
of
20:56
a
20:56
preference
20:56
there,
20:57
any
20:57
kind
20:57
of
20:57
colors
20:57
or
20:58
anything
20:58
like
20:58
that
20:58
that
20:58
you
20:58
like,
20:59
you
20:59
know,
20:59
one
21:00
more
21:00
than
21:00
the
21:00
other?
21:02
I,
21:03
I
21:03
like
21:03
the
21:06
kind
21:06
of
21:06
more
21:07
that
21:07
open
21:07
face
21:07
deal.
21:09
I
21:09
don't
21:09
do
21:10
a
21:10
lot
21:10
of
21:10
slider
21:10
fishing
21:11
personally,
21:12
but
21:12
if
21:13
it's
21:13
chartreuse
21:14
or
21:14
yellow,
21:14
those
21:15
are
21:15
my
21:15
two
21:15
favorite
21:16
colors.
21:16
I
21:16
mean,
21:16
Google
21:17
bugs
21:17
have
21:17
the
21:17
solar
21:18
flare
21:18
which
21:18
is
21:18
that
21:18
like
21:19
yellowy
21:20
chartreuse
21:20
and
21:20
they
21:21
have
21:21
yellow
21:21
fellow
21:22
which
21:22
is
21:22
just
21:22
straight
21:23
yellow.
21:24
Those
21:24
are
21:25
probably
21:26
the
21:26
two
21:26
most
21:27
popular
21:28
prospecting
21:29
bugs
21:30
that
21:30
I
21:30
use.
21:30
And
21:30
those
21:31
are,
21:31
I
21:31
think
21:31
they
21:32
come
21:32
in
21:32
A,
21:34
a
21:35
4,
21:35
6
21:36
and
21:36
an
21:36
8.
21:36
I
21:37
really
21:37
like
21:37
the
21:37
sixes,
21:38
the
21:38
mid,
21:38
the
21:39
mid
21:39
sized
21:39
one,
21:39
they're,
21:40
they're
21:40
easy
21:41
to
21:41
cast,
21:41
they
21:41
create
21:42
enough
21:42
disturbance
21:43
and
21:44
they're
21:44
super,
21:44
super
21:45
easy
21:45
for
21:45
those
21:45
fish
21:46
to
21:46
get
21:46
in
21:46
their
21:46
mouth.
21:46
So
21:47
when
21:48
you
21:48
talk
21:48
about
21:48
hookup
21:49
ratio,
21:50
that
21:50
kind
21:50
of
21:50
mid
21:51
sized
21:51
Google
21:51
bug
21:52
is
21:53
definitely,
21:53
you
21:54
know,
21:54
the,
21:54
the
21:55
king
21:55
of
21:55
that,
21:55
if
21:55
you
21:56
will.
21:56
King
21:56
or
21:56
queen.
21:57
Yeah,
21:58
there
21:58
you
21:58
go.
21:58
And
21:58
I
21:58
would
21:58
imagine
21:59
right
21:59
tackle's
22:00
the
22:00
same
22:00
except
22:00
if
22:01
you
22:01
have
22:01
a
22:01
smaller
22:01
bug,
22:02
you're
22:02
using
22:02
a
22:02
longer
22:02
leader.
22:04
Yes,
22:04
Yep,
22:05
yep,
22:05
exactly.
22:06
So,
22:06
you
22:06
know,
22:07
we
22:07
get
22:07
into
22:07
that
22:07
summertime
22:08
situation.
22:08
There's
22:09
times
22:09
where
22:09
we're
22:09
running
22:10
12
22:10
to
22:10
14
22:11
foot
22:11
leaders
22:11
which,
22:12
you
22:12
know,
22:12
a
22:12
lot
22:13
of
22:13
people
22:13
don't
22:14
like
22:14
to
22:14
do.
22:14
But
22:14
in
22:15
my
22:15
personal
22:16
opinion,
22:17
I
22:17
love
22:17
that
22:18
kind
22:18
of
22:18
technical
22:19
dry
22:19
fly
22:19
fishing,
22:20
you
22:20
know,
22:20
where
22:21
you've
22:21
got
22:21
to
22:21
have
22:21
a
22:21
long
22:22
leader.
22:22
It's
22:22
got
22:22
to
22:22
be,
22:23
you
22:23
know,
22:23
presented
22:24
properly
22:24
and,
22:24
you
22:25
know,
22:25
quietly
22:25
but
22:26
still
22:26
within,
22:26
you
22:27
know,
22:27
earshot
22:28
of
22:28
the
22:28
fish.
22:29
So,
22:30
you
22:30
know,
22:30
and
22:30
typically
22:31
when
22:31
we
22:31
get
22:31
to
22:31
that
22:32
level,
22:32
we're
22:32
starting
22:32
to
22:32
sight
22:33
fish
22:33
on,
22:33
on
22:33
top
22:34
water.
22:34
And
22:35
that
22:35
to
22:35
me
22:35
is
22:36
the
22:36
coolest
22:37
thing
22:37
ever.
22:37
So.
22:38
Yeah,
22:38
and
22:39
to
22:39
kind
22:39
of
22:39
help
22:39
manage
22:40
frustration
22:40
at
22:41
the
22:41
bow
22:41
of
22:41
the
22:41
boat,
22:42
you
22:42
know,
22:42
how
22:42
far
22:43
do
22:43
you
22:43
need
22:43
people
22:43
to
22:43
be
22:44
able
22:44
to
22:44
cast
22:44
in
22:44
the
22:44
summertime?
22:45
Because
22:45
I
22:45
know
22:45
the
22:45
fish
22:46
get
22:46
spooky,
22:46
right.
22:47
And
22:47
so,
22:47
you
22:48
know,
22:48
obviously
22:48
longer
22:49
can
22:49
generally
22:49
be
22:49
better,
22:50
but
22:50
kind
22:50
of
22:50
what's
22:50
a,
22:51
you
22:51
know,
22:51
people
22:51
are
22:51
in
22:51
the
22:51
backyard
22:52
practicing
22:52
for
22:52
a
22:53
trip,
22:53
what
22:53
do
22:53
they
22:53
need
22:53
to
22:53
be
22:54
able
22:54
to
22:54
do?
22:55
I
22:55
mean,
22:56
minimum
22:56
summertime
22:57
50ft.
22:59
You
22:59
know,
22:59
it's,
23:00
and
23:00
to
23:00
a
23:00
lot
23:00
of
23:01
people,
23:01
like
23:01
that
23:02
seems
23:02
like
23:02
a
23:02
lot,
23:03
but
23:03
it's,
23:03
it's
23:03
really
23:04
not.
23:04
I
23:04
mean,
23:04
typical
23:05
shooting
23:05
heads
23:05
on
23:06
fly
23:06
lines
23:06
are
23:06
30ft.
23:07
So
23:08
if
23:08
you
23:08
think
23:08
about,
23:09
you
23:09
know,
23:09
basically
23:10
casting
23:10
a
23:10
10
23:10
foot
23:11
leader
23:11
plus
23:12
the
23:12
shooting
23:13
head,
23:13
you're
23:13
already
23:13
at
23:14
40,
23:14
so
23:15
an
23:15
extra
23:16
10ft
23:16
is
23:16
not
23:16
that
23:16
far.
23:18
And
23:18
you
23:19
know,
23:19
you're
23:19
throwing
23:19
smaller
23:20
bucks
23:20
so
23:20
you
23:20
don't
23:21
have
23:21
to
23:21
worry
23:21
about,
23:22
you
23:22
know,
23:23
a
23:23
super
23:23
heavy
23:24
fly,
23:24
you
23:24
know,
23:25
you
23:25
know,
23:25
falling
23:26
too
23:26
quickly
23:27
or,
23:27
you
23:27
know,
23:27
collapsing
23:28
your
23:28
cast
23:28
and
23:29
things
23:29
like
23:29
that.
23:29
So,
23:30
you
23:30
know,
23:30
I'd
23:30
say
23:31
50ft.
23:32
But
23:32
you
23:33
know,
23:33
most
23:33
people
23:33
could
23:34
probably
23:34
already
23:34
do
23:34
that
23:35
without
23:35
even
23:36
realizing
23:36
they
23:37
can
23:37
do
23:37
that.
23:38
And
23:39
so,
23:39
you
23:39
know,
23:39
60,
23:40
70
23:40
is
23:40
never
23:41
a
23:41
bad
23:41
thing.
23:41
But
23:42
then
23:42
the
23:42
further
23:42
you
23:42
get,
23:43
then
23:44
you
23:44
run
23:44
into
23:44
the
23:44
issue
23:45
of,
23:45
you
23:45
know,
23:45
when
23:45
that
23:46
fish
23:46
eats,
23:46
are
23:46
you
23:46
going
23:46
to
23:47
be
23:47
able
23:47
to
23:47
set
23:47
the
23:47
hook
23:47
on
23:47
it?
23:48
So,
23:48
you
23:48
know,
23:48
I
23:48
try
23:49
to,
23:49
I
23:49
try
23:49
to
23:49
get
23:50
them
23:50
to
23:50
within
23:50
50ft.
23:51
That
23:51
seems
23:51
to
23:52
be
23:52
the
23:52
sweet
23:52
spot
23:52
of
23:53
just
23:53
far
23:53
enough
23:54
for
23:54
everything
23:55
to
23:55
work.
23:56
Got
23:56
it.
23:56
And
23:56
so,
23:57
you
23:57
know,
23:57
kind
23:57
of
23:57
in
23:58
your
23:58
neck
23:58
of
23:58
the
23:58
woods,
23:58
when
23:59
do
23:59
you
23:59
shift
23:59
over
23:59
to
23:59
kind
24:00
of
24:00
what,
24:00
you
24:00
know,
24:00
I
24:00
would
24:00
consider
24:01
kind
24:01
of
24:01
traditional
24:02
top
24:02
water
24:03
bug
24:03
fishing
24:04
for
24:04
smallmouth.
24:06
It,
24:06
it
24:07
depends
24:07
on
24:07
the,
24:08
the
24:08
flows,
24:09
of
24:09
course,
24:10
but
24:11
typically
24:12
we're
24:12
that
24:13
last
24:13
week
24:13
of
24:14
July,
24:14
first
24:14
week
24:15
of
24:15
August,
24:15
you
24:15
know,
24:15
we
24:16
start
24:16
to
24:16
get
24:16
those
24:16
lower
24:17
flows,
24:18
you
24:18
know,
24:18
those
24:18
fish
24:19
are
24:19
starting
24:20
to
24:20
pattern.
24:21
You
24:21
know,
24:21
different
24:21
May
24:22
flies,
24:22
the
24:22
annual
24:23
cicadas
24:23
are
24:23
out.
24:24
You
24:25
know,
24:25
we,
24:25
we
24:26
get
24:26
a,
24:27
a
24:28
pretty
24:28
good
24:29
summer
24:29
sulfur
24:30
and
24:30
kale
24:30
hatch
24:30
on,
24:31
on
24:31
our
24:31
rivers.
24:33
And
24:33
on
24:33
any
24:33
given
24:34
day,
24:34
depending
24:34
on
24:35
flows,
24:35
you
24:35
can
24:35
see
24:36
fish,
24:36
you
24:37
know,
24:37
bank
24:37
to
24:37
bank,
24:37
sitting
24:38
inches
24:39
under
24:39
the
24:39
surface,
24:40
patterning
24:40
those
24:40
bugs,
24:41
which
24:41
is
24:41
super
24:42
fun.
24:43
We
24:43
also
24:43
get
24:44
a
24:44
bunch
24:44
of
24:44
bluing
24:44
olives,
24:45
which
24:45
are
24:46
typically
24:46
really,
24:47
really
24:47
tiny
24:47
in
24:48
the
24:48
summertime.
24:48
But,
24:49
you
24:49
know,
24:49
they're
24:49
bass,
24:50
they're
24:50
not
24:50
trout.
24:51
So
24:51
if
24:51
you
24:51
throw
24:51
a
24:51
smaller
24:52
olive
24:53
anything
24:54
in
24:54
front
24:54
of
24:54
them,
24:54
they're
24:55
going
24:55
to
24:55
eat
24:55
it.
24:55
So,
24:57
you
24:57
know,
24:57
I'd
24:57
say
24:58
end
24:58
of
24:58
July,
24:58
early
24:59
August,
24:59
and
24:59
then
25:00
we'll
25:00
kind
25:00
of
25:00
run
25:01
that
25:01
until
25:02
everything
25:02
slows
25:02
up,
25:03
you
25:03
know,
25:03
in
25:03
the
25:04
middle
25:04
to
25:04
end
25:04
of
25:05
September.
25:05
So.
25:07
Got
25:07
it.
25:07
And
25:07
so
25:07
it
25:08
sounds
25:08
like,
25:08
you
25:08
know,
25:08
I
25:08
mean,
25:09
I
25:09
know
25:09
we've
25:09
got
25:09
like
25:09
dragonflies
25:10
and
25:10
we've
25:10
got
25:11
mayflies,
25:11
you
25:11
know,
25:12
kind
25:12
of
25:12
in
25:12
Virginia
25:12
and
25:13
the
25:13
Carolinas,
25:13
but
25:14
sounds
25:14
like
25:14
you've
25:15
got,
25:15
you
25:15
know,
25:16
a
25:16
whole
25:16
kind
25:17
of
25:18
top
25:18
water
25:19
level
25:19
of
25:19
action
25:19
that
25:20
has
25:20
nothing
25:20
to
25:20
do
25:20
with
25:20
fishing.
25:21
Cork
25:21
bugs.
25:22
Yes,
25:23
absolutely.
25:24
We,
25:24
we
25:24
fish
25:24
a
25:25
lot
25:25
of
25:25
foam
25:26
in
25:26
the
25:26
summertime.
25:27
And
25:28
you
25:28
know,
25:30
again,
25:30
when
25:30
we
25:30
get
25:30
into
25:31
those
25:31
kind
25:31
of
25:31
low
25:32
summer
25:32
flows,
25:32
our
25:33
fish
25:33
start
25:33
to
25:33
act
25:34
a
25:34
lot
25:34
like
25:34
spring
25:35
creek
25:35
trout.
25:35
So,
25:36
you
25:36
know,
25:37
cork,
25:37
as
25:38
much
25:38
as
25:38
I
25:38
love
25:39
cork,
25:39
it
25:39
hits
25:40
the
25:40
water
25:40
pretty
25:41
hard
25:41
no
25:41
matter
25:41
how
25:41
good
25:42
you
25:42
are
25:42
and
25:42
how
25:42
delicate
25:43
you
25:43
drop
25:43
it.
25:43
So,
25:44
you
25:45
know,
25:45
fishing
25:45
foam
25:47
is
25:47
really,
25:47
really
25:48
important.
25:48
And
25:49
you
25:49
know,
25:49
we
25:50
fish
25:51
old
25:51
Mr.
25:51
Wigglies
25:52
from
25:52
the
25:52
guys
25:52
up
25:52
in,
25:53
in
25:53
Wisconsin
25:53
and
25:54
tight
25:54
lines.
25:54
I've
25:55
got
25:55
a
25:55
articulated
25:57
damselfly
25:57
that
25:57
I
25:58
tie
25:58
now
25:58
that's,
25:59
you
25:59
know,
25:59
very
25:59
similar
26:00
in
26:01
style
26:01
of
26:01
the
26:01
wiggly,
26:02
but,
26:03
you
26:03
know,
26:03
different
26:04
stone
26:04
flies
26:04
and
26:05
grasshoppers
26:05
and
26:05
things
26:06
like
26:06
that.
26:06
And,
26:07
you
26:07
know,
26:07
it's.
26:07
It's
26:08
kind
26:08
of
26:08
fun.
26:08
And,
26:08
and
26:09
the
26:09
reason,
26:10
one
26:10
of
26:10
the
26:10
reasons
26:10
I
26:11
also
26:11
switched
26:12
to
26:12
more
26:12
of
26:12
that
26:12
foam
26:13
bug
26:13
stuff
26:13
is
26:14
because
26:14
there's
26:15
not
26:16
an
26:17
adult
26:17
on
26:18
this
26:18
planet
26:19
that
26:19
if
26:19
you
26:19
put
26:20
a
26:20
popper
26:20
on
26:21
the
26:21
end
26:21
of
26:21
their
26:21
rod
26:22
and
26:22
tell
26:22
them
26:22
not
26:23
to
26:23
pop
26:23
it,
26:24
that
26:24
they'll
26:24
listen
26:25
to
26:25
you.
26:25
So,
26:26
you
26:26
know,
26:26
no
26:26
Matter
26:27
what
26:27
happens,
26:27
everybody
26:28
wants
26:28
to
26:28
pop
26:28
a
26:29
popper.
26:29
So
26:30
I
26:31
got
26:31
this
26:31
so
26:31
frustrated
26:32
in
26:32
that
26:32
that
26:32
I
26:32
was
26:33
like,
26:33
that's
26:33
it.
26:33
I'm
26:34
cutting
26:34
it
26:34
off
26:34
and
26:34
you're
26:34
getting
26:35
something
26:35
you
26:35
can't
26:35
pop
26:35
no
26:36
matter
26:36
how
26:36
hard
26:36
you
26:36
tried
26:37
it.
26:37
So
26:38
that's
26:38
why
26:38
we
26:38
kind
26:38
of
26:39
switched
26:39
over
26:39
to
26:39
some
26:39
of
26:39
that
26:40
more
26:40
foam
26:40
stuff.
26:40
But
26:41
foam
26:42
is
26:42
also,
26:42
again,
26:43
the
26:43
smaller
26:43
you
26:43
get
26:44
that's
26:44
more
26:45
slender
26:45
you
26:45
get
26:45
on
26:46
profile,
26:46
the
26:46
easier
26:46
it
26:47
is
26:47
to
26:47
get
26:47
in
26:47
a
26:47
fish's
26:48
mouth.
26:48
So
26:48
again,
26:49
hookup
26:50
ratio
26:50
seems
26:50
to
26:51
go
26:51
up,
26:51
you
26:51
know,
26:52
even
26:52
more
26:52
once
26:52
you
26:52
get
26:53
into
26:53
that
26:53
kind
26:53
of
26:53
slender
26:54
foam
26:54
bug.
26:55
So
26:56
interesting.
26:56
So
26:56
you
26:57
don't
26:57
fish,
26:57
say
26:57
for
26:58
example,
26:58
like
26:58
some
26:58
of
26:58
the
26:59
Chuck
26:59
Kraft
26:59
style
27:00
kind
27:00
of
27:00
hard,
27:00
hard
27:01
cork
27:01
bugs.
27:02
I
27:03
do,
27:04
I
27:04
do
27:04
that
27:05
typically
27:06
earlier
27:06
in
27:06
the
27:07
season.
27:08
So
27:08
July
27:09
would
27:09
be
27:09
kind
27:10
of
27:10
the
27:10
time
27:10
frame
27:10
that
27:11
I
27:11
fish
27:11
that.
27:11
I
27:11
love
27:12
the
27:12
Excalibur.
27:13
I
27:13
have
27:14
some
27:14
of
27:14
his
27:15
damsel
27:16
flies.
27:16
Those,
27:16
those
27:17
do
27:17
work.
27:17
But
27:18
you
27:19
know,
27:19
those
27:19
Excaliburs
27:20
are
27:20
pretty
27:21
heavy.
27:22
So
27:22
the
27:22
only
27:23
time,
27:23
you
27:23
know,
27:24
kind
27:24
of
27:24
dead
27:24
summer,
27:25
August,
27:25
September,
27:25
that
27:26
I'll
27:26
fish
27:26
those
27:26
is
27:26
when
27:26
we're
27:27
kind
27:27
of
27:27
fishing
27:27
banks
27:28
that
27:28
have,
27:29
you
27:29
know,
27:29
pretty
27:29
low
27:30
hanging
27:30
trees
27:31
where,
27:31
you
27:32
know,
27:32
it's
27:32
not
27:32
uncommon
27:33
to
27:33
see
27:33
bigger
27:34
bugs
27:34
like
27:34
cicadas
27:36
fall
27:36
out
27:36
of
27:37
them
27:37
because
27:38
when
27:38
they
27:38
hit
27:38
the
27:38
water,
27:39
it's
27:39
a
27:39
pretty
27:39
big
27:40
flop.
27:40
I
27:40
mean
27:40
we
27:41
were,
27:41
we
27:42
were
27:42
fishing
27:44
State
27:44
College
27:44
on
27:46
Friday.
27:47
I
27:47
guess
27:47
the
27:47
last
27:48
time
27:48
I
27:48
bass
27:48
fish
27:48
was
27:49
Thursday.
27:49
Friday
27:49
we
27:50
went
27:50
trout
27:50
fishing.
27:51
We
27:51
went
27:52
up
27:52
and
27:52
fishing
27:52
cicadas
27:53
on,
27:53
on
27:53
one
27:53
of
27:53
the
27:54
Spring
27:54
Creek
27:54
or
27:54
one
27:55
of
27:55
the
27:55
creeks
27:55
up
27:55
in
27:56
State
27:56
College.
27:56
And
27:57
we
27:57
were
27:58
throwing
27:58
the
27:58
cicadas
27:59
in
27:59
the
27:59
water
27:59
and
27:59
even
28:00
just
28:01
us
28:01
throwing
28:01
them
28:01
them
28:02
kind
28:02
of
28:02
fluttering
28:03
down,
28:03
you
28:03
know,
28:03
20ft,
28:04
they
28:05
still
28:05
hit
28:05
the
28:05
water
28:05
pretty
28:06
hard.
28:06
So
28:06
that's
28:06
where
28:06
Chuck
28:07
Craft
28:07
bugs
28:07
really,
28:08
really
28:08
come,
28:09
you
28:09
know,
28:09
come
28:10
out
28:10
I
28:10
think
28:10
is
28:10
when
28:11
those
28:11
bigger
28:11
bugs
28:12
are
28:12
around.
28:12
So.
28:13
Got
28:14
it.
28:14
So
28:14
why
28:14
don't
28:14
you
28:15
give
28:15
me,
28:15
I
28:15
don't
28:15
know,
28:16
you
28:16
know,
28:16
3,
28:16
4,
28:17
5,
28:17
6
28:17
of
28:17
your
28:18
kind
28:18
of
28:18
favorite
28:19
top
28:20
water
28:20
flies
28:21
for
28:21
smallmouth.
28:24
So
28:25
one
28:25
of
28:25
mine
28:25
is
28:26
the
28:27
Russ
28:28
Madden
28:28
Scorpio.
28:29
I
28:30
think
28:30
that's
28:30
how
28:30
you
28:30
say
28:30
it.
28:31
It's
28:31
a
28:31
kind
28:32
of
28:32
a
28:32
foam
28:32
bug
28:33
with
28:33
some
28:33
rubber
28:33
legs
28:33
and
28:34
some
28:34
deer
28:34
hair
28:34
coming
28:34
off
28:35
the
28:35
back.
28:36
Tie
28:36
it
28:36
in
28:36
a
28:36
lot
28:37
of
28:37
different
28:37
colors
28:37
and
28:38
kind
28:38
of
28:38
imitate,
28:38
you
28:39
know,
28:39
anything.
28:40
I
28:40
know
28:40
you
28:40
be,
28:41
if
28:41
you're
28:41
a
28:41
fly
28:41
tire,
28:42
you
28:42
can
28:42
find
28:42
that,
28:43
you
28:43
know,
28:44
find
28:44
the
28:44
recipes
28:45
for
28:45
that.
28:45
But
28:45
it's
28:46
also
28:46
a
28:46
Montana
28:47
fly
28:47
company
28:47
pattern.
28:48
So
28:48
you
28:48
can,
28:49
you
28:49
know,
28:49
purchase
28:49
that.
28:50
The
28:51
old
28:51
Mr.
28:51
Wiggly
28:52
is
28:52
probably
28:52
my
28:52
number
28:53
one,
28:53
you
28:54
know,
28:54
summertime
28:54
bug
28:54
when
28:55
it
28:55
comes
28:55
to
28:55
foam,
28:56
the
28:57
stream
28:58
bank
28:58
hopper
28:59
is
28:59
the
28:59
western
29:00
grasshopper.
29:01
That's
29:01
one
29:01
of
29:01
my
29:01
favorite
29:02
grasshopper
29:03
patterns
29:03
for
29:03
the
29:04
summer.
29:05
And
29:05
then
29:05
my
29:05
new
29:06
articulated
29:07
damselfly,
29:08
that's,
29:09
that's
29:09
definitely
29:09
one
29:10
of
29:10
my
29:10
more
29:10
favorite
29:10
ones.
29:12
But
29:12
I'll
29:12
be
29:12
honest
29:12
with
29:13
you,
29:13
I,
29:13
that
29:13
those
29:14
are
29:14
the
29:14
like
29:14
the
29:14
main
29:15
four
29:15
that
29:15
I
29:15
fish.
29:16
I
29:16
don't
29:16
go
29:16
super
29:16
deep
29:18
in
29:18
different
29:18
patterns
29:19
when
29:19
it
29:19
comes
29:19
to
29:20
like
29:20
top
29:20
water
29:20
because
29:21
I
29:21
know
29:21
that
29:22
if
29:22
they
29:22
don't
29:22
eat
29:23
one
29:23
of
29:23
those
29:23
four,
29:25
there's
29:25
not
29:25
a
29:25
lot
29:26
of
29:26
other
29:26
stuff
29:26
you
29:26
can
29:27
throw
29:27
that
29:27
you're
29:27
going
29:27
to
29:27
get
29:27
those
29:28
fish
29:28
to
29:28
eat.
29:28
They're
29:29
either
29:29
just
29:29
not
29:29
eating
29:29
or
29:30
you're
29:30
not
29:30
presenting
29:30
it
29:31
properly.
29:31
So,
29:32
you
29:32
know,
29:32
there's
29:33
plenty
29:33
of
29:33
different
29:33
grasshopper
29:34
patterns
29:35
out
29:35
there
29:35
and
29:35
things
29:35
like
29:35
that.
29:36
But,
29:36
you
29:36
know,
29:36
those
29:37
are
29:37
my
29:37
top
29:37
four,
29:38
so.
29:39
Got
29:39
it.
29:40
So
29:40
you're
29:40
probably,
29:40
you
29:41
know,
29:41
using
29:41
your
29:41
seven
29:42
weight.
29:42
Scott,
29:43
have
29:43
you
29:43
changed
29:44
your
29:44
fly
29:44
line
29:45
and
29:45
your
29:45
leader
29:45
approach
29:46
drastically
29:46
for
29:47
those
29:47
bugs?
29:48
That
29:49
is
29:49
a
29:49
great
29:49
question
29:50
and
29:50
yes
29:50
I
29:51
do.
29:51
So
29:52
one
29:53
thing
29:53
you
29:53
can
29:53
do
29:54
now,
29:55
maybe
29:56
a
29:56
guide
29:56
and
29:56
having,
29:57
you
29:57
know,
29:57
the
29:58
ability
29:58
to
29:58
have
29:59
different,
29:59
you
29:59
know,
30:00
reels
30:00
and
30:00
spools
30:01
and
30:01
lines
30:01
is,
30:01
is,
30:02
is
30:02
kind
30:02
of
30:02
nice.
30:03
But
30:03
I
30:04
tell
30:04
a
30:04
lot
30:04
of
30:04
people
30:05
that
30:05
if
30:05
they
30:05
can't,
30:06
if
30:06
they
30:06
can't
30:07
have
30:08
multiple
30:08
fly
30:08
lines
30:09
for
30:10
top
30:10
water
30:10
to
30:11
just
30:12
buy
30:13
bass
30:13
bug
30:13
or
30:14
whatever
30:14
bass
30:14
bug
30:14
line,
30:15
they
30:15
have
30:15
one
30:16
line
30:16
weight
30:17
lighter
30:18
because
30:18
technically
30:19
it's
30:19
still
30:19
a
30:20
line
30:20
weight
30:20
heavy.
30:21
So,
30:22
you
30:22
know,
30:22
for
30:22
instance,
30:22
if
30:23
I
30:23
was
30:23
fishing
30:23
the
30:23
SA
30:24
bass
30:24
bug
30:26
7
30:26
weight
30:26
for
30:26
frogs
30:27
on
30:28
my
30:28
7
30:28
weight,
30:29
in
30:29
the
30:29
summertime
30:30
you
30:31
could
30:31
run
30:31
a
30:31
6
30:31
weight
30:32
bass
30:32
bug
30:32
on
30:33
your
30:33
7
30:33
weight
30:34
and
30:34
that's
30:34
still
30:34
going
30:34
to
30:34
give
30:34
you
30:35
plenty
30:35
of
30:35
power
30:35
to,
30:36
you
30:36
know,
30:36
cast
30:37
that
30:37
fly
30:37
at
30:37
good
30:37
distance.
30:38
But
30:38
it's
30:38
not
30:38
going
30:38
to
30:39
hit
30:39
the
30:39
water
30:39
super
30:40
hard.
30:41
But
30:41
my
30:42
fly
30:42
line
30:42
of
30:42
choice
30:43
is
30:43
the
30:43
new
30:45
SA
30:46
Infinity
30:47
plus,
30:48
which
30:48
is
30:48
basically
30:50
a
30:50
line
30:50
heavy,
30:51
heavier
30:52
40
30:53
foot
30:53
shooting
30:53
head.
30:54
So
30:54
it's
30:54
a
30:55
little
30:55
bit
30:55
longer.
30:55
So
30:56
it's
30:56
not
30:56
great
30:56
for
30:57
short
30:57
casts.
30:58
But
30:58
again,
30:58
typically
30:59
when
30:59
you're
30:59
running
31:00
those
31:00
lighter
31:01
fly
31:01
lines,
31:01
you're
31:01
trying
31:02
to
31:02
cast
31:02
further.
31:03
So
31:03
the
31:04
SA
31:04
Infinity
31:04
plus
31:05
is
31:05
my
31:05
favorite
31:06
summertime
31:06
one.
31:07
Still
31:07
running
31:07
seven
31:08
weights
31:08
occasionally,
31:10
you
31:11
know,
31:11
if
31:11
we're
31:11
running
31:11
super
31:12
small
31:12
stuff,
31:12
I'll
31:12
run
31:13
a
31:13
six
31:13
weight.
31:13
But
31:13
seven
31:14
weights
31:14
seem
31:14
to
31:15
be,
31:15
you
31:15
know,
31:16
pretty
31:16
versatile
31:17
when
31:17
it
31:17
comes
31:17
to
31:17
presenting
31:18
something
31:18
softly
31:19
or
31:19
still
31:20
wanting
31:20
to
31:20
punch
31:20
something
31:21
big
31:21
through
31:21
the
31:21
air.
31:22
So
31:23
it's
31:23
the
31:24
kind
31:24
of
31:24
jack
31:25
of
31:25
all
31:25
trades,
31:25
if
31:25
you
31:26
will,
31:26
fly
31:27
rods.
31:28
Got
31:28
it.
31:28
So
31:28
we
31:29
now
31:29
know
31:29
that
31:29
you
31:29
yell
31:30
at
31:30
people
31:30
that
31:30
Pop
31:31
poppers,
31:32
right?
31:32
I
31:32
do,
31:33
absolutely.
31:34
And
31:34
you
31:34
take
31:34
them
31:34
away.
31:35
But
31:36
you've
31:36
got
31:36
a
31:36
lot
31:36
of
31:37
different
31:37
kind
31:37
of
31:37
dry
31:38
flies,
31:38
right?
31:38
For
31:39
lack
31:39
of
31:39
a
31:39
better
31:39
word,
31:40
it
31:41
seems
31:41
like
31:41
maybe
31:41
some
31:41
of
31:41
them
31:42
you
31:42
animate
31:42
and
31:42
some
31:43
of
31:43
you
31:43
don't
31:43
you
31:43
want
31:44
to
31:44
kind
31:44
of
31:44
walk
31:44
through
31:44
that
31:44
for
31:45
folks.
31:47
I
31:47
am
31:47
a
31:47
very
31:48
strong
31:48
proponent
31:49
of
31:49
the
31:49
dead
31:49
drifts.
31:50
So
31:51
I,
31:52
I,
31:53
what
31:53
I
31:53
typically
31:54
do
31:54
when
31:54
I
31:54
get
31:54
into
31:54
those
31:55
smaller
31:55
quote
31:55
unquote
31:56
drive
31:56
lines
31:57
is
31:57
instead
31:57
of
31:57
popping
31:58
it
31:58
or
31:58
stripping
31:59
it,
31:59
what
31:59
I
31:59
basically
32:00
do
32:00
is
32:00
tell
32:00
the
32:00
client
32:01
to
32:01
lift
32:01
their,
32:02
lift
32:02
their
32:02
rod
32:03
about
32:04
six
32:04
inches
32:05
and
32:05
that'll
32:05
pull
32:05
the
32:06
fly
32:07
or
32:07
it'll
32:08
just
32:08
barely
32:08
move
32:09
it,
32:09
depending
32:09
on
32:09
how
32:09
far
32:10
it
32:10
is
32:10
away.
32:10
Just
32:10
creating
32:11
a
32:11
little
32:11
bit
32:11
of
32:11
a
32:11
ripple
32:12
around
32:12
that,
32:12
around
32:13
that
32:13
bug.
32:14
Otherwise
32:15
I'm
32:15
leaving
32:16
pretty
32:16
flat.
32:17
One
32:18
thing
32:18
I
32:18
will
32:18
say
32:19
is
32:19
that
32:20
I'm
32:21
convinced
32:21
that
32:22
there
32:22
is
32:22
what
32:22
I,
32:22
I've
32:23
now
32:23
dubbed
32:23
the
32:24
zone
32:24
of
32:24
interest
32:25
around
32:25
a
32:25
small
32:26
mouth.
32:26
And
32:26
it's
32:26
about
32:26
an
32:27
eight
32:27
foot
32:27
circle
32:28
from
32:28
its
32:28
gill
32:28
plates
32:29
to
32:29
the
32:29
front
32:29
of
32:30
its
32:30
nose.
32:31
And
32:31
when
32:31
you're
32:32
dry
32:32
fly
32:32
fishing,
32:33
casting
32:34
that
32:34
fly,
32:35
whatever
32:36
it
32:36
is
32:37
within
32:37
that
32:37
eight
32:38
foot
32:38
range
32:38
is
32:39
almost
32:39
always
32:40
going
32:40
to
32:40
get
32:40
their
32:40
attention.
32:42
So
32:42
I,
32:43
I
32:43
tell
32:43
people,
32:43
and
32:43
you
32:44
can
32:44
tell
32:44
exactly
32:45
who's
32:45
a
32:46
traditional
32:46
dry
32:46
fly
32:47
trout
32:47
fisherman
32:47
versus
32:48
a
32:48
bass
32:48
angler.
32:49
Because
32:49
the
32:49
trout
32:49
fisherman
32:50
is
32:50
going
32:51
to
32:51
cast
32:51
their
32:52
wiggly
32:52
or
32:52
their
32:53
grasshopper
32:53
30
32:54
or
32:54
40ft
32:54
in
32:55
front
32:55
of
32:55
that,
32:55
that
32:56
bass
32:56
that's
32:57
sitting
32:57
just
32:57
under
32:58
the
32:58
surface.
32:58
They're
32:59
going
32:59
to
32:59
mend
32:59
it,
32:59
mend
33:00
it,
33:00
mend
33:00
it.
33:00
Get
33:00
this
33:01
beautifully,
33:02
you
33:02
know,
33:02
beautiful
33:03
drag
33:03
free
33:03
drift
33:04
down
33:04
to
33:04
that
33:04
fly
33:05
or
33:05
down
33:05
to
33:05
that
33:06
fish.
33:06
And
33:07
the
33:07
fish
33:07
is
33:08
either
33:08
going
33:08
to
33:08
completely
33:08
ignore
33:09
it
33:09
or,
33:10
or
33:10
you're
33:11
gonna,
33:11
as
33:11
the
33:11
angler,
33:11
when
33:12
it
33:12
gets
33:12
close,
33:12
try
33:12
to
33:13
pop
33:13
it
33:13
and
33:14
you're
33:14
gonna
33:14
spook
33:14
that
33:14
fish.
33:15
So
33:15
I
33:15
sell
33:16
everybody,
33:16
it's
33:16
a
33:16
hundred
33:17
percent
33:17
chance
33:17
that
33:17
fish
33:18
is
33:18
going
33:18
to
33:18
ignore
33:18
your
33:19
fly
33:19
or
33:19
get
33:19
spooked
33:20
if
33:20
you
33:20
try
33:20
to,
33:21
you
33:21
know,
33:21
lead
33:21
that
33:21
fish
33:22
super
33:22
far.
33:23
But
33:23
if
33:23
you
33:23
can
33:23
drop
33:24
that
33:24
fish
33:25
or
33:25
drop
33:25
that
33:26
fly
33:26
within
33:27
an
33:27
eight
33:27
foot
33:28
circle
33:28
of
33:28
the
33:28
front
33:29
of
33:29
that
33:29
fish,
33:29
you're
33:30
going
33:30
to
33:30
almost
33:30
always
33:31
get
33:31
their
33:31
attention.
33:32
Whether
33:32
or
33:32
not
33:32
they
33:32
eat
33:33
it
33:33
or
33:33
not.
33:33
That's
33:34
kind
33:34
of
33:34
up
33:34
to
33:34
you
33:35
and
33:35
the
33:35
fish
33:35
at
33:35
that
33:35
point.
33:36
But
33:36
you
33:36
know,
33:37
that
33:37
like
33:37
I
33:37
said
33:37
before,
33:38
that
33:38
plop
33:39
is
33:39
what
33:39
gets
33:39
their
33:40
attention.
33:40
That's
33:40
the
33:41
most
33:41
natural
33:41
sound
33:42
of
33:42
your
33:42
presentation.
33:43
Now
33:44
once
33:45
that
33:45
fish
33:45
comes
33:45
up
33:46
and
33:46
starts
33:46
looking
33:46
at
33:46
your
33:47
fly,
33:48
then
33:48
you
33:48
have
33:48
to
33:48
decide
33:49
if
33:49
that
33:49
fish
33:49
is
33:50
interested
33:50
in
33:50
that
33:51
bug.
33:51
You
33:51
know,
33:51
is
33:51
it
33:52
looking
33:52
at
33:52
it?
33:52
Because
33:53
it's
33:54
going
33:54
to
33:54
Eat
33:54
it
33:54
or
33:54
is
33:54
it
33:55
looking
33:55
at
33:55
it
33:55
because
33:55
it
33:55
wants
33:56
to
33:56
know
33:56
if
33:56
it's
33:56
alive
33:56
before
33:57
it
33:57
eats
33:57
it?
33:57
So
33:58
that's
33:59
when
33:59
a
33:59
little
34:00
tiny
34:00
twitch
34:00
comes
34:01
in
34:01
where
34:01
I'm
34:01
just
34:01
like,
34:02
you
34:02
know,
34:02
lift
34:02
your
34:02
thumb
34:03
an
34:03
inch
34:03
so
34:03
that
34:04
fly
34:05
barely
34:05
moves.
34:05
And
34:05
a
34:05
lot
34:06
of
34:06
times
34:06
that
34:06
fish,
34:06
immediately
34:07
as
34:07
that
34:07
fly
34:07
goes
34:08
to
34:08
move,
34:08
will
34:08
jump
34:08
on
34:09
and
34:09
eat
34:09
it.
34:10
Or
34:10
there
34:11
are
34:11
plenty
34:11
of
34:11
times
34:11
where
34:12
that
34:12
movement
34:12
spooks
34:13
the
34:13
fish.
34:13
But
34:14
if
34:14
you
34:14
put
34:15
it
34:15
in
34:15
an
34:15
eight
34:15
foot
34:16
circle
34:16
in
34:16
front
34:16
of
34:16
that
34:17
fish,
34:17
I
34:17
guarantee
34:18
you're
34:18
going
34:19
to
34:19
get
34:19
that
34:19
vision's
34:19
attention.
34:20
So.
34:21
Got
34:21
it.
34:22
And
34:22
I
34:22
would
34:22
imagine
34:22
you
34:22
want
34:23
to
34:23
put
34:23
it
34:23
on
34:23
kind
34:23
of
34:24
your
34:24
side
34:24
of
34:24
the
34:24
eight
34:25
foot
34:25
circle
34:25
so
34:25
you
34:25
don't
34:26
risk
34:26
lining
34:26
the
34:26
fish
34:27
or
34:27
them
34:27
seeing
34:27
the
34:27
line.
34:28
Right?
34:29
Yep,
34:29
that
34:29
is,
34:30
that
34:30
is
34:30
true.
34:31
You
34:31
know,
34:32
if
34:32
you're
34:32
on
34:32
the
34:32
far
34:33
side
34:33
of
34:33
them
34:33
by
34:34
a
34:34
foot
34:34
or
34:34
two,
34:34
that's
34:35
probably
34:35
not
34:36
that
34:36
big
34:36
of
34:37
a
34:37
deal
34:37
just
34:37
because,
34:38
you
34:38
know,
34:38
the
34:39
leader
34:39
is
34:40
not
34:40
going
34:40
to
34:40
create
34:40
that
34:40
much
34:41
disturbance.
34:41
But,
34:42
you
34:42
know,
34:42
I
34:42
can't
34:42
tell
34:42
how
34:43
many
34:43
times
34:43
I,
34:43
I
34:44
ask
34:44
a
34:44
client,
34:44
like,
34:44
you
34:45
see
34:45
that
34:45
push
34:45
over
34:45
there
34:46
35ft
34:46
and
34:47
I
34:47
like,
34:47
yep,
34:47
I'm
34:48
like,
34:48
all
34:48
right,
34:48
put
34:48
that
34:49
fly
34:50
right
34:50
in
34:50
front
34:51
of
34:51
that
34:51
fish
34:52
and
34:52
the,
34:52
the
34:53
fly
34:53
line
34:53
hits
34:53
it
34:54
in
34:54
head,
34:54
you
34:54
know,
34:54
and
34:54
so
34:55
there
34:55
is
34:55
plenty
34:55
of
34:55
times
34:56
where
34:56
you
34:56
know
34:57
that
34:58
the
34:58
cast
34:59
isn't
34:59
made
34:59
properly.
35:00
But
35:00
as
35:00
long
35:00
as
35:00
you
35:01
get
35:01
that
35:01
fly
35:01
quietly
35:02
in
35:02
front
35:02
of
35:02
that
35:03
fish,
35:03
they
35:04
will
35:04
come
35:04
up
35:04
and
35:04
look
35:05
at
35:05
it.
35:06
Got
35:06
it.
35:07
And
35:07
so,
35:07
you
35:07
know,
35:07
you're,
35:08
you
35:08
know,
35:08
we
35:08
were
35:08
talking
35:09
before
35:09
we
35:09
started
35:09
recording,
35:09
you're
35:10
kind
35:10
of,
35:10
you
35:10
know,
35:10
headquartered
35:11
south
35:11
of
35:11
Harrisburg.
35:12
And
35:12
you
35:13
know,
35:13
so,
35:13
you
35:14
know,
35:14
kind
35:14
of
35:14
what
35:14
you're
35:14
talking
35:14
about
35:15
maybe
35:15
not
35:15
all
35:16
of
35:16
the
35:16
kind
35:16
of,
35:16
you
35:17
know,
35:17
mayflies
35:17
and
35:17
things
35:18
like
35:18
that,
35:18
but
35:18
you
35:18
know,
35:19
generally,
35:20
you
35:20
know,
35:20
the
35:20
arcs
35:21
of
35:21
the
35:21
smallmouth
35:22
season
35:22
are
35:22
similar.
35:23
They
35:23
just
35:23
kind
35:23
of
35:23
start
35:23
and
35:24
end
35:24
at
35:24
different
35:24
times
35:24
across
35:25
the
35:25
country.
35:25
So,
35:26
you
35:26
know,
35:26
if
35:26
someone
35:27
is
35:27
listening
35:27
to
35:27
this
35:27
and
35:28
they're
35:28
not
35:28
in
35:28
the
35:28
PA
35:28
area
35:29
or
35:29
they're
35:29
down
35:29
near
35:29
me,
35:30
or
35:30
they're
35:30
in
35:30
the
35:30
Midwest
35:31
or,
35:31
you
35:32
know,
35:32
maybe
35:32
even
35:32
down
35:32
like
35:33
in
35:33
Tennessee.
35:33
You
35:34
know,
35:34
what
35:34
are
35:34
your
35:35
tips
35:35
for,
35:36
you
35:36
know,
35:36
helping
35:37
them
35:37
figure
35:37
out
35:37
kind
35:38
of
35:38
where
35:38
they
35:38
are
35:39
kind
35:39
of
35:39
in
35:39
the
35:39
smallmouth
35:40
season
35:40
on
35:40
their
35:40
home
35:40
waters.
35:43
Best
35:43
thing
35:44
to
35:44
do
35:44
is,
35:44
is,
35:45
you
35:45
know,
35:45
always
35:45
be
35:46
checking
35:46
water
35:46
temperatures.
35:47
You
35:48
know,
35:48
I
35:48
feel
35:48
like
35:48
the
35:49
majority
35:49
of
35:49
smallmouth
35:50
seasons
35:50
directly
35:51
correlate
35:51
with
35:52
water
35:52
temperatures.
35:53
So,
35:53
you
35:53
know,
35:54
whether
35:54
or
35:54
not
35:55
you're
35:55
in
35:55
the
35:55
Midwest,
35:56
you
35:56
know,
35:56
they
35:57
might,
35:57
their
35:57
spring
35:58
might
35:58
start
35:58
a
35:58
little
35:59
bit
35:59
later
35:59
than
35:59
us.
36:00
You
36:00
know,
36:01
down
36:01
in
36:01
Tennessee,
36:02
Virginia,
36:03
you
36:03
know,
36:03
North
36:03
Carolina,
36:04
they
36:04
might
36:04
start
36:04
a
36:04
little
36:05
earlier
36:05
than
36:05
us,
36:05
just
36:05
depending
36:06
on
36:06
what
36:06
water
36:06
temps
36:07
are.
36:07
So,
36:07
you
36:08
know,
36:08
always
36:08
pay
36:08
attention
36:09
to
36:09
everything
36:09
that
36:09
you
36:09
can,
36:10
that
36:10
you
36:10
can
36:10
look
36:11
at.
36:11
I
36:11
mean,
36:11
we
36:11
have
36:11
these
36:12
super,
36:13
you
36:13
know,
36:14
ridiculously
36:15
smart
36:16
computers
36:16
in
36:16
our
36:17
hands
36:17
at
36:17
all
36:17
times.
36:17
So
36:18
you
36:18
can
36:18
see,
36:19
you
36:19
know,
36:19
what
36:19
the
36:19
weather's
36:20
doing,
36:20
what
36:20
the
36:20
flows
36:21
are
36:21
doing.
36:21
And
36:22
so
36:22
I
36:22
always
36:23
just
36:23
say
36:23
water
36:23
temperature.
36:24
That's
36:24
the
36:24
short
36:24
answer
36:25
of
36:25
it.
36:26
And
36:26
then
36:26
just
36:26
observe
36:27
what
36:27
else
36:27
is
36:27
going
36:28
around.
36:28
You
36:28
know,
36:28
start
36:28
looking
36:29
to
36:29
see
36:29
if
36:29
you
36:29
see
36:30
bugs.
36:30
Do
36:30
you
36:30
hear
36:31
cicadas,
36:32
you
36:32
hear
36:32
crickets
36:32
and
36:33
grasshoppers.
36:33
You
36:34
know,
36:34
when
36:34
you're
36:34
walking
36:34
through
36:34
the
36:35
grass
36:35
to
36:35
get
36:35
the
36:35
boat
36:36
ramp,
36:36
are
36:36
there,
36:37
you
36:37
know,
36:37
are
36:37
there
36:37
bugs
36:38
jumping
36:38
up
36:38
just
36:38
like,
36:39
you
36:39
know,
36:39
out
36:39
west
36:39
when
36:40
you're
36:40
walking
36:40
to
36:40
a
36:40
spring
36:40
creek,
36:41
are
36:41
they
36:41
kicking
36:41
grasshoppers
36:42
up
36:42
like
36:42
crazy?
36:43
So
36:43
just
36:44
observe
36:44
with
36:44
what's
36:45
going
36:45
on
36:45
around
36:45
you
36:45
and
36:46
check
36:46
water
36:46
temps.
36:47
Those
36:47
are
36:47
the
36:47
two
36:47
most
36:47
important
36:48
things.
36:49
Yeah,
36:49
and
36:49
I
36:49
guess,
36:49
you
36:49
know,
36:50
not
36:50
all
36:50
USGS
36:51
gauges
36:52
have
36:52
temperature,
36:52
but
36:52
a
36:53
lot
36:53
of
36:53
them
36:53
do.
36:54
I
36:55
do
36:55
know
36:55
that
36:55
like
36:56
TroutRoutes
36:56
has
36:56
a
36:56
lot
36:56
of
36:57
the
36:57
US
36:57
I
36:57
think
36:57
though,
36:58
actually
36:58
they
36:58
probably
36:58
have
36:58
all
36:59
the
36:59
USGS
36:59
gauges
36:59
and
37:00
you
37:00
can
37:00
get
37:00
temperature
37:00
information
37:01
there.
37:02
Yep,
37:02
you
37:03
can
37:03
do
37:03
that.
37:03
I
37:04
always
37:04
carry
37:04
a
37:05
thermometer
37:05
with
37:05
me.
37:06
I've
37:06
got
37:06
one
37:07
in
37:07
the
37:07
center
37:07
console,
37:08
my
37:08
truck.
37:08
So,
37:09
you
37:09
know,
37:09
if
37:09
I'm
37:10
going
37:10
out,
37:10
see
37:11
what's
37:11
going
37:11
on
37:11
or,
37:11
you
37:12
know,
37:12
if
37:12
I'm
37:12
getting
37:12
ready
37:12
to
37:12
go
37:13
fishing,
37:13
the
37:13
first
37:13
thing
37:13
I
37:14
do
37:14
is
37:14
throw
37:14
that
37:14
thing
37:14
in
37:15
the
37:15
water,
37:15
you
37:15
know,
37:15
try
37:16
to,
37:16
I
37:16
try
37:17
to
37:17
drop
37:17
it
37:17
to
37:17
the
37:17
bottom
37:18
and
37:18
check
37:18
the
37:18
bottom
37:19
temperature.
37:19
And
37:20
sometimes,
37:21
you
37:21
know,
37:21
for
37:21
instance,
37:22
like
37:22
a
37:22
lot
37:23
of
37:23
our
37:23
boat
37:23
ramps,
37:23
there's,
37:24
we
37:25
have
37:25
a
37:25
lot
37:25
of
37:25
jet
37:26
boats
37:26
on
37:26
our
37:26
big
37:26
rivers
37:27
and
37:28
so
37:28
the,
37:28
they
37:28
blow
37:29
out
37:29
an
37:29
eight
37:29
foot
37:30
deep
37:30
hole
37:31
right
37:31
below
37:32
the
37:32
boat
37:32
ramp.
37:33
So
37:33
you
37:33
can
37:33
throw,
37:34
throw
37:34
your
37:34
thermometer
37:35
in
37:35
there
37:35
attached
37:35
to
37:36
hopefully
37:36
some
37:37
string
37:38
and
37:38
see
37:38
what
37:38
it
37:38
is
37:38
at
37:39
8ft.
37:39
And
37:39
then
37:39
you
37:39
can
37:40
throw
37:40
it
37:40
over,
37:40
you
37:40
know,
37:41
foot,
37:42
you
37:42
know,
37:42
over
37:43
to
37:43
the
37:43
bank
37:43
where
37:43
it's
37:44
a
37:44
foot
37:44
deep
37:44
and
37:44
see
37:44
the
37:45
difference
37:45
in
37:45
water
37:45
temperature.
37:46
But
37:47
you
37:47
know,
37:47
so
37:47
I
37:47
think
37:48
thermometers
37:48
are
37:48
a
37:49
great
37:49
thing
37:49
to
37:49
have.
37:50
You
37:50
know,
37:51
I
37:51
probably
37:51
own
37:51
like
37:51
12
37:52
of
37:52
them
37:52
because
37:52
I
37:52
always
37:53
forget
37:53
them.
37:53
So
37:53
I
37:54
now
37:54
have
37:54
one
37:54
in
37:54
every
37:55
single
37:55
pack,
37:55
bag,
37:56
box,
37:57
you
37:57
know,
37:57
crevice
37:58
and
37:58
crack
37:58
that
37:59
I
37:59
can
37:59
put
37:59
them
37:59
in.
37:59
So
38:00
I
38:00
never
38:00
don't
38:01
have
38:01
one.
38:01
Yeah,
38:02
it's
38:02
interesting.
38:02
So
38:03
you
38:03
don't
38:03
do
38:03
an
38:03
infrared
38:04
one.
38:04
I
38:04
know
38:04
I've
38:04
got
38:04
one
38:04
of
38:05
the
38:05
old
38:05
fish
38:05
pond
38:06
ones.
38:06
It's
38:06
in
38:06
like
38:06
an
38:06
aluminum
38:07
case.
38:08
Yeah,
38:09
yeah,
38:10
I've
38:10
thought.
38:10
I
38:11
honestly,
38:11
I've
38:11
just
38:11
never
38:12
had
38:12
one.
38:13
I've
38:13
always
38:13
just
38:14
bought
38:14
the
38:15
either
38:15
Umpqua
38:16
or
38:16
Science
38:17
of
38:17
a
38:17
Gangler
38:18
or
38:18
Orvis
38:19
ones,
38:19
the
38:19
metal
38:19
ones.
38:20
And
38:20
they
38:20
tend
38:21
to
38:21
be
38:22
pretty
38:22
durable.
38:23
I
38:23
mean,
38:23
I.
38:23
So
38:23
when
38:24
I'm
38:24
floating
38:24
in
38:24
my
38:24
drift
38:25
boat
38:25
or
38:25
my
38:25
raft,
38:26
a
38:26
lot
38:26
of
38:26
times
38:26
I'll
38:26
throw
38:27
it
38:27
overboard.
38:27
Three
38:28
hours
38:28
later
38:28
I'll
38:28
forget
38:28
it
38:29
was
38:29
in
38:29
the
38:29
water
38:29
and
38:29
it's
38:30
still
38:30
completely
38:31
fine
38:31
just
38:31
dragging
38:32
on
38:32
the
38:32
bottom,
38:33
you
38:33
know,
38:33
attached
38:34
to
38:34
a
38:34
six
38:35
foot
38:35
piece
38:35
of,
38:36
you
38:36
know,
38:36
monofilament.
38:37
So
38:37
they're
38:38
pretty
38:38
durable.
38:39
But
38:39
if
38:39
you
38:39
can
38:40
get
38:40
a
38:40
thermal
38:41
one,
38:41
that
38:41
would
38:41
be
38:41
awesome.
38:42
Does
38:43
anybody
38:43
still
38:43
make
38:44
those?
38:45
You
38:45
know,
38:46
I
38:46
don't
38:46
know
38:46
because
38:46
I
38:47
just,
38:47
you
38:47
know,
38:47
I've
38:48
got
38:48
my
38:48
old
38:49
school
38:49
one
38:49
that
38:49
works
38:50
and
38:50
so
38:50
I
38:51
just,
38:51
you
38:52
know,
38:52
I
38:52
don't,
38:52
you
38:52
know,
38:52
I
38:53
don't
38:53
really
38:53
troll
38:53
the
38:53
catalogs
38:54
for
38:54
the
38:54
ones
38:54
that
38:55
look
38:55
like
38:55
a,
38:55
you
38:55
know,
38:55
an
38:56
infrared
38:56
gun
38:56
that
38:56
you
38:57
point
38:57
at
38:57
the
38:57
water.
38:59
Right.
39:01
Um,
39:01
but
39:02
yeah,
39:02
so,
39:02
I
39:02
mean,
39:02
it's,
39:03
it's
39:03
interesting.
39:03
Like.
39:03
So
39:03
for
39:04
me
39:04
with
39:04
trout,
39:04
I
39:04
have
39:04
mine
39:05
on
39:05
a
39:05
carabiner
39:05
that
39:05
I
39:06
actually
39:06
like
39:06
hooked
39:06
to
39:07
my
39:07
laces
39:07
on
39:07
my
39:07
waiting
39:08
boots.
39:09
Ah,
39:09
perfect.
39:10
Yep.
39:10
That's
39:10
a
39:10
great
39:11
idea.
39:11
Yeah.
39:12
So
39:12
you've
39:12
gotten
39:12
rained
39:13
out.
39:14
I
39:14
don't
39:15
want
39:15
to
39:15
like,
39:15
you
39:15
know,
39:15
give
39:16
you
39:16
PTSD
39:16
or
39:17
anything
39:17
like
39:17
that,
39:17
but
39:17
I
39:18
also
39:18
know
39:18
you're
39:18
working
39:19
on
39:19
another
39:19
book,
39:19
so
39:19
maybe
39:20
you
39:20
have
39:20
a
39:20
few
39:20
days
39:20
to
39:21
do
39:21
book
39:22
work.
39:22
You
39:22
want
39:22
to
39:23
share
39:23
details
39:24
with
39:24
our
39:24
listeners
39:24
about
39:25
what
39:25
you're
39:25
working
39:25
on.
39:27
Well,
39:27
honestly,
39:28
I'm
39:28
done,
39:29
so
39:30
that's,
39:30
that's
39:30
good.
39:31
But
39:32
yeah,
39:32
I
39:32
just
39:32
finished,
39:33
finished
39:34
my
39:34
second
39:34
book
39:35
is
39:36
part
39:36
of
39:36
a
39:36
series.
39:37
So
39:37
Stackpole
39:38
started
39:39
the
39:39
series,
39:39
I
39:39
think,
39:40
I
39:40
think
39:41
four
39:41
years
39:41
ago.
39:42
They
39:43
did
39:43
favorite
39:44
flies
39:44
books.
39:45
And
39:45
so
39:45
there's
39:45
favorite
39:46
flies
39:46
from
39:46
Pennsylvania.
39:47
There's
39:47
a
39:47
favorite
39:47
flies
39:48
for
39:48
Colorado.
39:49
And
39:49
so
39:49
it's
39:49
going
39:49
to
39:49
be
39:49
a
39:50
series
39:50
book.
39:51
So
39:52
I
39:52
just
39:52
wrote
39:52
the
39:52
favorite
39:53
flies
39:53
for
39:53
smallmouth
39:54
bass.
39:55
So
39:55
it's
39:56
got
39:56
50
39:57
of
39:57
what
39:57
I
39:57
would
39:58
consider,
39:59
you
39:59
know,
39:59
that
40:00
my.
40:00
Well,
40:01
they're
40:01
my
40:01
favorite,
40:02
but
40:02
I
40:02
would
40:02
consider
40:02
them
40:03
the
40:03
top
40:03
50
40:03
flies
40:04
for
40:04
smallmouth
40:05
and
40:05
you
40:05
know,
40:05
today's
40:06
day
40:06
and
40:06
age.
40:07
So
40:07
they're
40:08
not
40:08
just
40:08
mine.
40:09
I've
40:09
got
40:09
some
40:09
from
40:10
the
40:10
guys
40:10
at
40:10
Schultz
40:10
Outfitters.
40:11
I've
40:11
got
40:11
some
40:12
from
40:12
the
40:13
guys
40:13
at
40:13
Tight
40:13
Lines.
40:14
I've
40:14
got
40:14
some
40:14
from,
40:15
you
40:15
know,
40:15
the
40:15
guys
40:16
down
40:16
in
40:16
Virginia.
40:16
And
40:17
so
40:17
we.
40:17
I've
40:18
got
40:18
a
40:18
wide
40:19
variety
40:19
of,
40:19
of
40:20
flies
40:21
to
40:21
display
40:22
for
40:22
this
40:22
book.
40:22
But
40:23
what's
40:24
really
40:24
neat
40:24
about
40:24
it
40:25
is,
40:26
you
40:26
know,
40:26
you
40:26
write,
40:27
you
40:27
take.
40:28
I
40:28
took
40:28
a
40:28
picture
40:29
of
40:29
each
40:29
fly.
40:30
It's
40:30
not
40:30
a
40:31
tutorial
40:31
book.
40:31
It's
40:31
more
40:32
of
40:32
a.
40:32
Here
40:33
are
40:33
the
40:33
50
40:33
flies,
40:34
and,
40:35
you
40:35
know,
40:35
who
40:35
created
40:36
them,
40:36
why
40:37
they
40:37
created
40:37
them,
40:37
and
40:38
then
40:38
how
40:38
to
40:38
fish
40:38
them.
40:39
And
40:39
so
40:40
there's
40:40
recipes
40:41
for
40:41
all
40:41
of
40:41
them.
40:42
So
40:42
there's,
40:42
I
40:42
think,
40:42
16
40:43
or
40:43
17
40:44
top
40:44
water,
40:46
16
40:46
or
40:46
17
40:48
made
40:48
columns.
40:49
So
40:49
bait
40:49
fish
40:49
or
40:49
swim
40:50
flies,
40:50
and
40:50
then
40:51
the
40:51
same
40:51
for
40:51
the
40:51
bottom
40:52
with
40:52
crayfish
40:52
and
40:52
hellgramites
40:53
and
40:53
things
40:53
like
40:54
that.
40:54
So
40:55
it's.
40:55
It
40:55
was
40:56
a
40:56
smaller
40:56
project
40:56
than
40:57
my
40:57
first
40:57
book,
40:57
but
40:57
it
40:57
was.
40:58
It
40:58
was
40:58
super
40:58
fun
40:59
and,
41:00
you
41:00
know,
41:01
kind
41:01
of
41:01
awesome
41:01
to
41:01
be
41:01
done
41:02
with
41:02
a
41:02
second
41:03
book.
41:03
So.
41:04
Yeah,
41:04
there
41:04
you
41:04
go.
41:04
Did.
41:05
Didn't
41:05
Naguski
41:06
do
41:06
the
41:06
trout
41:06
fly
41:07
one
41:08
for
41:08
Pa?
41:09
Yep,
41:09
yep.
41:10
Nagaski
41:10
did
41:10
the
41:10
child
41:10
fly
41:11
Favorite
41:11
flies
41:11
for
41:12
Pennsylvania.
41:13
I
41:13
actually
41:13
had
41:14
his
41:14
book
41:14
sitting
41:15
on
41:15
my
41:15
table
41:15
the
41:15
entire
41:16
time
41:16
I
41:16
was
41:16
writing
41:16
it
41:17
just
41:17
to
41:17
make
41:17
sure
41:17
I
41:17
was
41:17
doing
41:18
it
41:18
right.
41:18
Like,
41:19
looking
41:19
at
41:19
how
41:20
he.
41:20
How
41:21
he
41:21
did
41:22
the
41:22
recipes
41:22
for
41:23
each
41:23
one
41:23
and
41:23
how
41:23
many,
41:24
you
41:24
know,
41:24
flies
41:25
he
41:25
added,
41:26
you
41:26
know,
41:26
different
41:26
pictures
41:27
and
41:27
things
41:27
like
41:27
that,
41:28
too.
41:28
And
41:28
actually,
41:29
speaking
41:30
of
41:30
Naguski,
41:30
I
41:30
used
41:31
his
41:31
camera
41:31
and
41:32
his
41:32
studio
41:33
to
41:33
take
41:33
all
41:33
of
41:34
the
41:34
photos
41:35
of
41:35
the
41:35
flies.
41:36
So
41:36
that
41:36
was
41:36
pretty
41:37
fun.
41:37
Yeah,
41:37
that's
41:38
a.
41:38
We
41:39
could
41:39
do
41:39
an
41:39
entire
41:39
interview
41:40
on
41:40
the
41:40
nightmare
41:41
of
41:41
macro
41:41
photography
41:42
for
41:42
flies
41:42
for
41:43
books.
41:43
Right.
41:44
You
41:44
know
41:44
what
41:45
the
41:45
worst
41:45
part
41:45
was,
41:46
was,
41:46
like,
41:47
you
41:47
know,
41:47
you
41:47
use
41:47
these,
41:48
like,
41:48
little
41:48
pieces
41:48
of
41:49
shale
41:49
or
41:50
something
41:50
like
41:51
that,
41:51
and
41:51
you.
41:51
You
41:52
make
41:53
them
41:53
wet
41:53
so
41:54
that
41:54
they
41:54
kind
41:55
of
41:55
glisten
41:55
a
41:56
little
41:56
bit,
41:56
and
41:56
you
41:57
take
41:57
this
41:57
awesome
41:58
picture
41:58
of
41:58
this
41:59
fly.
41:59
It's
41:59
all
41:59
in
41:59
focus,
42:00
and
42:00
then
42:00
you
42:00
blow
42:00
it
42:00
up
42:01
on
42:01
the
42:01
computer,
42:01
and
42:01
you're
42:02
like,
42:02
there's
42:02
three
42:02
dry
42:03
spots
42:03
in
42:03
it,
42:03
so
42:04
you
42:04
kind
42:04
of
42:04
go
42:04
back
42:04
through
42:05
and
42:05
retake
42:05
it
42:05
again.
42:06
So.
42:07
But
42:07
yeah,
42:07
it
42:07
was,
42:08
you
42:08
know,
42:08
I.
42:08
I
42:09
learned
42:09
a
42:09
lot
42:09
because
42:10
he's
42:10
got
42:10
all
42:11
the
42:11
stuff,
42:11
the
42:11
little,
42:11
like,
42:12
light
42:12
reflectors
42:13
and
42:13
the,
42:14
you
42:14
know,
42:14
big
42:14
hood
42:14
with
42:15
the.
42:15
The
42:16
flash
42:16
on
42:16
it
42:16
and
42:17
all
42:17
that
42:17
stuff.
42:17
And
42:17
so,
42:18
yeah,
42:19
macro,
42:19
macro
42:20
photography
42:21
is.
42:21
Is
42:22
kind
42:22
of
42:22
a
42:22
pain.
42:23
But
42:23
my
42:23
flies,
42:24
being
42:24
bass,
42:24
are
42:25
a
42:25
little
42:25
bit
42:25
bigger
42:25
than,
42:26
you
42:26
know,
42:26
trout
42:26
flies,
42:27
so
42:27
they
42:27
weren't
42:27
quite
42:28
as
42:28
bad
42:28
as,
42:28
you
42:28
know,
42:29
time
42:29
or
42:30
taking
42:30
photos
42:30
of
42:30
size
42:31
16,
42:31
you
42:31
know,
42:32
stone
42:32
flies
42:33
or
42:33
nymphs
42:33
or
42:33
whatever.
42:34
Yeah.
42:34
And
42:34
you
42:35
weren't
42:35
developing
42:35
film,
42:36
which
42:36
would
42:36
have
42:36
made
42:36
it
42:36
even
42:36
worse
42:37
because
42:37
you
42:37
would
42:37
have
42:37
had
42:37
to
42:37
wait
42:38
three
42:38
weeks
42:38
to
42:38
realize
42:39
you'd
42:39
screwed
42:39
up
42:39
the
42:39
shot.
42:41
Exactly.
42:42
I
42:42
did.
42:42
I
42:42
did
42:43
make
42:43
the
42:43
mistake,
42:43
though,
42:43
of
42:44
taking
42:44
all
42:44
the
42:44
photos
42:45
and
42:45
then
42:45
going
42:45
home.
42:46
I
42:47
live
42:47
about
42:47
30
42:47
minutes
42:48
from
42:48
Eric.
42:48
And
42:49
so
42:49
I
42:49
went
42:49
home,
42:50
put,
42:50
put
42:50
them
42:50
on
42:51
the
42:51
computer
42:51
and
42:51
I
42:51
had
42:52
to
42:52
make
42:52
a
42:52
list
42:53
of
42:53
all
42:53
the
42:53
flies
42:54
I
42:54
had
42:54
to
42:54
re
42:54
photograph
42:55
and
42:55
went
42:56
back
42:56
two
42:56
days
42:56
later,
42:57
did
42:57
it
42:57
all
42:57
over
42:57
again.
42:58
So
42:59
it
42:59
was
42:59
kind
42:59
of
42:59
a
43:00
pain,
43:00
but,
43:00
but
43:00
again
43:01
super
43:01
fun.
43:01
And
43:02
actually
43:03
because
43:03
I
43:04
was
43:04
writing
43:04
that
43:04
book,
43:05
I
43:06
tied
43:06
some
43:06
flies
43:07
that
43:07
I
43:07
hadn't
43:08
tied
43:08
yet.
43:08
Such
43:09
as
43:09
like
43:09
Schultz's
43:10
the
43:10
Woodsman
43:11
and
43:11
the
43:11
Leggy
43:12
Boy.
43:12
I
43:12
hadn't
43:12
really
43:13
tied
43:13
those
43:13
flies
43:14
before
43:14
and
43:15
you
43:15
know,
43:16
I
43:16
kind
43:16
of
43:16
had
43:16
to
43:16
get
43:17
really
43:17
good
43:17
at
43:17
it
43:17
to
43:17
make
43:18
them,
43:18
you
43:19
know,
43:19
photo
43:19
worthy
43:20
and
43:20
ended
43:21
up
43:21
fishing
43:21
them
43:21
a
43:21
lot
43:21
in
43:22
the
43:22
spring
43:22
and
43:22
they
43:22
were
43:23
just
43:23
as
43:23
effective
43:24
as
43:24
those
43:24
guys
43:24
said
43:25
they
43:25
were.
43:25
So
43:25
that's
43:26
good.
43:26
Yeah.
43:26
And
43:27
I
43:27
would
43:27
imagine
43:27
too,
43:27
right.
43:28
If
43:28
you're
43:28
done
43:29
with
43:29
the
43:29
book,
43:29
that
43:30
probably
43:30
means
43:30
it'll
43:30
be
43:31
ready
43:31
to
43:31
launch
43:32
kind
43:32
of
43:32
for
43:32
the
43:32
holiday
43:33
season
43:33
and
43:33
show
43:33
season
43:34
in
43:34
2026,
43:34
right?
43:36
Yep,
43:36
yep.
43:37
As
43:37
far
43:37
as
43:38
I
43:38
know,
43:38
it
43:38
should
43:38
be,
43:39
it
43:39
should
43:39
be
43:39
out
43:40
right
43:40
around
43:40
the
43:40
Edison
43:41
show.
43:42
I
43:42
was,
43:43
they
43:43
were
43:43
thinking
43:44
they
43:44
might
43:44
be
43:44
able
43:44
to
43:44
have
43:45
it
43:45
done
43:45
by,
43:45
you
43:45
know,
43:46
the
43:46
holidays,
43:47
Christmas
43:47
time.
43:47
But
43:49
this
43:49
is
43:50
actually
43:50
from
43:51
what
43:51
I
43:51
was
43:51
told
43:51
and
43:51
this
43:52
just
43:52
could
43:52
be
43:52
because
43:53
I
43:53
was
43:53
a
43:53
little
43:53
late
43:53
on
43:54
sending
43:54
it
43:54
in.
43:54
But
43:55
they're
43:55
pretty
43:56
busy
43:56
on
43:56
books
43:56
this
43:57
year.
43:57
So
43:57
I
43:57
think
43:58
it'll
43:58
be
43:59
beginning
44:00
of
44:00
26
44:00
is
44:01
when
44:01
that,
44:01
when
44:01
that
44:01
book
44:02
will
44:02
come
44:02
out.
44:02
So
44:03
yeah,
44:03
very
44:03
cool.
44:04
Any
44:04
other
44:04
projects
44:05
you
44:05
want
44:05
to
44:05
share
44:05
with
44:05
our
44:05
listeners?
44:07
I
44:07
don't
44:08
really
44:08
have
44:08
anything
44:08
else
44:09
going
44:09
on
44:09
right
44:09
now.
44:11
Well,
44:11
I
44:11
guess
44:11
the
44:11
only
44:11
other
44:12
thing
44:12
I
44:12
will
44:12
say
44:12
is
44:12
that
44:14
that's
44:14
not
44:14
true.
44:15
I
44:15
have
44:15
a
44:15
huge
44:15
project.
44:17
I
44:17
just
44:17
signed
44:18
a
44:18
contract
44:18
with
44:18
Montana
44:19
Fly
44:19
Company
44:20
so
44:21
they
44:21
are
44:22
taking
44:23
all
44:23
of
44:23
my
44:24
bass
44:24
flies.
44:25
So
44:26
they're
44:26
going
44:26
to
44:26
do
44:27
a
44:27
Jake
44:27
Billow
44:28
signature
44:28
launch
44:29
next
44:29
year.
44:30
It's
44:30
gonna
44:30
have
44:31
nine
44:31
or
44:32
10
44:32
patterns.
44:33
As
44:33
I'm
44:34
tying
44:34
flies
44:35
for
44:35
samples
44:36
right
44:36
now,
44:36
once
44:36
they,
44:38
once
44:38
they
44:39
officially
44:39
picked
44:40
which
44:40
ones
44:40
they
44:40
wanted,
44:41
now
44:41
I'm
44:41
tying
44:41
the
44:42
samples
44:42
for
44:42
them
44:42
and
44:43
tying
44:43
samples
44:43
of
44:44
flies
44:44
to
44:44
send
44:45
to
44:45
somebody
44:46
in
44:46
the
44:46
middle
44:46
of
44:46
guide
44:47
season
44:47
is
44:48
quite
44:48
painful
44:49
because
44:49
you
44:49
spend
44:49
all
44:49
this
44:49
time
44:50
tying
44:50
flies
44:50
and
44:50
you
44:50
can't
44:51
put
44:51
them
44:51
in
44:51
your
44:51
box.
44:51
But
44:52
I
44:53
keep
44:53
coming
44:53
up
44:53
with
44:54
a
44:54
couple
44:54
new
44:54
flies
44:55
as
44:55
I'm
44:55
doing
44:55
this
44:55
and
44:55
I'm
44:56
like,
44:56
hey,
44:56
what
44:56
do
44:56
you
44:56
think
44:56
of
44:56
this
44:57
one?
44:57
They're
44:57
like,
44:57
yeah,
44:57
send
44:57
me
44:58
a
44:58
sample
44:58
of
44:58
that
44:58
too.
44:58
So
44:59
as
44:59
of
44:59
right
44:59
now,
45:00
they've
45:00
got
45:00
nine,
45:00
but
45:01
they
45:01
may
45:01
have,
45:02
they
45:02
may
45:02
have
45:02
up
45:03
to
45:03
11
45:04
when
45:04
the
45:04
actual
45:04
launch
45:05
happens
45:05
next
45:06
year.
45:06
So
45:07
that'll
45:07
be
45:07
pretty
45:08
exciting.
45:08
It's
45:09
pretty
45:09
Neat.
45:09
I
45:09
mean,
45:09
gosh,
45:10
those
45:10
guys
45:10
are,
45:11
they're
45:11
really
45:11
kind
45:12
of
45:12
taking
45:12
over
45:12
kind
45:13
of
45:13
the
45:13
streamer
45:13
space
45:14
and
45:14
fly
45:14
fishing
45:15
100%.
45:16
And
45:17
you
45:17
know
45:17
what?
45:17
I,
45:18
I,
45:19
I
45:19
had
45:19
a
45:19
contract
45:20
with
45:20
fully
45:21
Mills
45:21
Slash
45:22
Orbis
45:22
for
45:22
a
45:23
long
45:23
time,
45:23
and
45:24
that
45:25
kind
45:25
of
45:25
contract
45:26
expired.
45:26
And
45:27
it
45:27
was
45:27
just
45:27
like
45:27
the
45:28
perfect
45:28
storm
45:28
and
45:28
timing
45:29
for
45:29
me.
45:30
Montana
45:31
fly
45:31
reached
45:31
out
45:31
to
45:31
me,
45:32
but
45:32
I,
45:33
they
45:33
sent
45:34
me
45:34
some
45:35
flies
45:36
from
45:37
a
45:37
couple
45:37
different
45:38
tires
45:38
to,
45:39
to
45:39
photograph
45:39
for
45:40
the
45:40
book,
45:40
and
45:40
I
45:41
honestly
45:41
could
45:41
not
45:42
tie
45:42
that
45:42
fly
45:43
better
45:44
myself.
45:44
So,
45:45
you
45:45
know,
45:45
the
45:45
quality
45:46
of
45:46
streamer
45:47
tying
45:48
is
45:48
amazing.
45:48
And
45:49
the
45:49
way
45:49
they
45:49
package
45:49
them,
45:50
they
45:50
don't
45:50
get
45:50
all
45:50
smashed
45:51
and
45:51
stuff.
45:51
And
45:51
so
45:53
the
45:53
quality
45:53
control
45:54
of
45:54
MFC
45:54
is,
45:55
is
45:55
pretty,
45:55
pretty
45:56
phenomenal.
45:56
So
45:57
I'm,
45:57
I'm
45:57
really
45:57
excited
45:58
to
45:58
work
45:58
with
45:58
them
45:58
and
45:59
it'll
46:00
be
46:00
nice
46:00
to
46:00
finally
46:01
have,
46:01
you
46:02
know
46:02
what?
46:02
I
46:02
would
46:02
consider
46:02
some
46:03
of
46:03
the,
46:03
you
46:04
know,
46:04
more
46:04
modern
46:05
bass
46:05
bugs
46:06
available
46:06
for
46:06
people
46:06
to
46:07
purchase.
46:07
Because
46:07
not
46:08
every
46:08
Thai,
46:08
every
46:09
fly
46:09
fisherman,
46:10
or
46:10
should
46:11
I
46:11
say
46:11
fly
46:11
angler,
46:12
ties
46:12
flies.
46:13
So,
46:13
you
46:13
know,
46:14
when
46:14
I'm
46:14
people
46:14
like,
46:15
oh,
46:15
do
46:15
you
46:15
sell
46:15
your
46:16
roamer?
46:16
Do
46:16
you
46:16
sell
46:16
your
46:17
crayfish?
46:17
I'm
46:17
like,
46:19
no,
46:19
but
46:20
you
46:20
know,
46:20
maybe
46:21
somebody
46:21
else
46:21
could
46:22
time
46:22
for
46:22
you
46:22
and
46:22
you
46:23
know,
46:23
so
46:23
it'll
46:23
be
46:23
nice
46:23
to
46:24
be
46:24
like,
46:24
no,
46:24
I
46:24
don't.
46:24
But
46:25
you
46:25
know,
46:25
they
46:25
Montana
46:26
fly
46:26
ties
46:27
as
46:27
well
46:27
as
46:27
I
46:27
do,
46:28
so
46:28
go
46:28
buy
46:28
them
46:28
from
46:28
them.
46:29
So
46:29
it's
46:29
pretty
46:30
cool.
46:30
Yeah.
46:30
Plus,
46:31
I
46:31
mean,
46:31
these
46:31
ties
46:32
are
46:32
involved,
46:32
Right.
46:33
So
46:33
even
46:33
if
46:33
you
46:33
tie,
46:34
you
46:34
may
46:34
not
46:34
want
46:34
to
46:34
tie
46:35
that.
46:35
Right?
46:36
Yeah.
46:37
And
46:37
you
46:37
know,
46:37
I,
46:38
I
46:38
know
46:38
that
46:39
like
46:39
when
46:39
Covid
46:40
hit
46:41
and
46:41
we
46:41
weren't
46:41
allowed
46:42
to
46:42
guide,
46:42
I
46:43
spent
46:44
the
46:44
entire
46:44
month
46:45
of
46:45
April.
46:46
I
46:46
threw
46:46
the
46:47
Roamer
46:47
and
46:47
a
46:47
couple
46:47
other
46:48
bath
46:48
bugs
46:48
back
46:49
up
46:49
on
46:49
my
46:49
website
46:50
purchase
46:50
and
46:51
expected
46:51
to
46:52
get
46:52
a
46:52
few
46:52
orders.
46:52
And
46:53
within
46:53
48
46:54
hours,
46:54
I
46:54
had
46:54
36
46:55
orders
46:55
and
46:56
I
46:56
was
46:56
tying
46:56
flies
46:57
for
46:57
eight
46:57
hours
46:57
a
46:57
day
46:58
during
46:58
COVID
46:59
And
46:59
I
47:00
just
47:00
kind
47:00
of
47:00
realized
47:00
that
47:01
I
47:01
never
47:01
wanted
47:01
to
47:01
tie
47:02
commercially
47:02
again.
47:03
And
47:03
I
47:03
also
47:04
charged
47:04
more
47:05
because
47:05
I
47:06
didn't
47:06
want
47:06
to
47:06
do
47:06
it
47:06
and
47:07
people
47:07
didn't
47:08
have
47:08
any
47:08
issues
47:08
paying,
47:09
paying
47:09
it
47:09
because
47:09
they
47:10
wanted
47:10
to
47:10
fly.
47:10
So
47:12
at
47:12
this
47:12
point,
47:13
I
47:13
can't
47:14
tie
47:14
commercially
47:14
because
47:15
any
47:16
fly
47:16
that
47:16
I
47:16
tie
47:17
besides
47:17
these
47:17
samples
47:18
has
47:18
to
47:18
go
47:18
in
47:19
my
47:19
fly
47:19
box
47:19
because
47:19
I
47:20
don't,
47:20
you
47:20
know,
47:20
I
47:20
don't
47:21
have.
47:21
Well,
47:22
right
47:22
now
47:22
I
47:22
have
47:22
plenty
47:23
of
47:23
time
47:23
because
47:23
the
47:23
river's
47:24
blown
47:24
out.
47:24
But
47:25
unfortunately
47:26
for
47:26
me,
47:26
I
47:27
have
47:27
a
47:27
full
47:27
box
47:28
of
47:28
flies,
47:28
so
47:28
I
47:28
don't
47:28
even
47:29
get
47:29
to
47:29
tie
47:29
flies.
47:29
But
47:31
yeah,
47:31
so
47:31
any,
47:32
any
47:32
bug
47:32
that
47:32
I
47:32
tie
47:33
has
47:33
to
47:33
go
47:34
in
47:34
my
47:34
box.
47:34
It's
47:35
Too
47:35
valuable
47:35
for
47:36
my
47:36
job.
47:37
Yeah,
47:37
there
47:38
you
47:38
go.
47:38
And
47:38
I
47:38
will.
47:38
We
47:39
haven't
47:39
talked
47:39
really
47:39
about
47:39
your
47:40
kind
47:40
of
47:40
relentless
47:41
and
47:41
everything
47:41
you
47:41
do
47:41
there,
47:42
but
47:42
I
47:42
will
47:42
drop
47:42
a
47:43
link
47:43
to
47:44
our
47:44
original
47:44
interview
47:45
in
47:45
the
47:45
show
47:45
notes
47:45
for
47:46
this
47:46
one.
47:47
But,
47:47
you
47:47
know,
47:48
you
47:48
know,
47:48
before
47:48
you
47:48
go
47:49
tonight,
47:49
you
47:49
want
47:49
to
47:49
let
47:49
folks
47:50
know,
47:50
like
47:50
you
47:50
told
47:51
me
47:51
before
47:51
we
47:51
started
47:51
recording
47:52
that
47:52
you
47:52
picked
47:52
up
47:52
State
47:52
College.
47:53
So
47:53
you
47:53
now
47:53
are
47:54
running
47:55
all
47:55
the
47:55
guides
47:55
at
47:55
tco.
47:56
You
47:56
want
47:56
to
47:56
kind
47:56
of
47:57
give
47:57
folks
47:57
kind
47:57
of,
47:58
you
47:58
know,
47:58
the
47:58
locations
47:59
and
47:59
you're
48:00
more
48:00
than
48:00
just,
48:00
you
48:00
know,
48:01
smallmouth.
48:01
You're
48:01
doing
48:01
trout
48:02
and
48:02
other
48:02
stuff
48:02
too,
48:03
kind
48:03
of
48:03
all
48:03
that
48:04
kind
48:04
of
48:04
good
48:04
stuff
48:04
and
48:04
how
48:04
they
48:05
can
48:05
reach
48:05
out
48:05
and
48:05
get
48:05
on
48:06
the
48:06
water
48:06
with
48:06
you
48:06
or
48:06
one
48:06
of
48:07
your
48:07
guides.
48:09
Yeah,
48:09
so
48:10
we
48:10
do,
48:11
we
48:11
do
48:11
the
48:12
trout
48:12
stuff.
48:12
So
48:12
we've
48:13
got.
48:13
TCO
48:13
has
48:14
five
48:14
locations,
48:15
one
48:15
in
48:15
Bryn
48:16
Mawr,
48:16
one
48:17
in
48:17
Reading,
48:18
State
48:18
College,
48:19
Boiling
48:20
Springs,
48:20
and
48:20
the
48:20
most
48:21
recent
48:21
one
48:21
is
48:21
up
48:22
in
48:22
Muncie.
48:23
Muncie,
48:23
Pennsylvania.
48:24
So
48:24
kind
48:24
of
48:24
Northern
48:25
Pennsylvania,
48:26
Pine
48:26
Creek,
48:26
West
48:26
Bench,
48:27
Susquehanna.
48:28
So,
48:29
you
48:29
know,
48:29
we.
48:30
One
48:30
of
48:30
the
48:31
beauties
48:31
of
48:31
what
48:31
we
48:32
have
48:32
is
48:32
we
48:32
have
48:33
guides
48:33
that
48:33
are
48:33
really
48:34
good
48:34
in
48:34
each
48:34
one
48:35
of
48:35
those
48:35
locations.
48:35
So
48:36
we're
48:36
not
48:36
like
48:36
a
48:36
centrally
48:37
located
48:37
outfitter
48:38
that
48:38
just
48:38
kind
48:38
of
48:39
goes
48:39
here,
48:40
goes
48:40
there.
48:41
And
48:41
so
48:42
we
48:42
have,
48:42
you
48:43
know,
48:43
trout
48:43
guides,
48:44
we
48:44
have
48:44
steelhead
48:44
guides,
48:45
we
48:45
have
48:45
smallmouth
48:45
guides,
48:46
we
48:46
have
48:46
muskie
48:47
guides.
48:48
And
48:48
so
48:48
we
48:48
do
48:49
it
48:49
all
48:49
in
48:49
Pennsylvania.
48:50
And
48:50
then
48:50
the
48:50
one
48:50
other
48:50
thing
48:51
that
48:51
we've
48:51
got
48:51
that's
48:52
kind
48:52
of
48:52
neat
48:52
is
48:52
I
48:52
have
48:53
a
48:53
guide
48:54
that
48:54
spends
48:55
three
48:55
months
48:55
in,
48:56
in
48:56
North
48:56
Carolina
48:56
every
48:57
fall,
48:58
but
48:58
chasing
48:59
false
48:59
albacore
49:00
and
49:00
amberjack.
49:01
So
49:01
we
49:01
also
49:01
actually
49:02
have
49:02
a
49:02
saltwater
49:03
guide
49:03
that
49:03
works
49:03
for
49:03
us
49:04
as
49:04
well,
49:04
which
49:04
is
49:04
kind
49:05
of
49:05
nice.
49:05
So,
49:06
you
49:06
know,
49:06
if
49:06
you
49:07
want
49:07
to
49:07
do
49:07
some
49:07
saltwater,
49:08
we've
49:08
got
49:08
you
49:08
covered.
49:09
If
49:09
you
49:10
want
49:10
to
49:10
trout
49:10
fish,
49:10
bass
49:11
fish,
49:11
or
49:12
really
49:12
any
49:12
freshwater,
49:13
you
49:13
know,
49:14
game
49:14
fish
49:14
in
49:14
Pennsylvania,
49:15
or
49:16
we
49:16
can
49:16
do
49:16
that.
49:16
We
49:17
also
49:17
have
49:17
two
49:17
licensed
49:18
guides
49:18
in
49:18
New
49:18
York,
49:19
so
49:20
they
49:20
do
49:20
the
49:20
same
49:20
in
49:20
river
49:21
and
49:22
for
49:22
steelhead
49:22
and
49:23
West
49:23
Branch
49:24
of
49:24
the
49:24
Delaware,
49:25
Neil
49:25
Sunday
49:26
is
49:26
my
49:26
head
49:26
guide.
49:27
He's
49:27
actually
49:27
up
49:27
on
49:27
the
49:27
West
49:28
Branch
49:28
of
49:28
Delaware
49:28
right
49:28
now
49:29
for
49:29
the
49:29
next
49:29
three
49:29
weeks
49:30
guiding.
49:31
So
49:32
it's
49:32
kind
49:32
of
49:32
a.
49:33
We
49:33
kind
49:33
of
49:33
do
49:33
it
49:33
all.
49:34
And
49:34
then
49:35
most
49:35
recently,
49:35
we
49:36
just
49:36
started
49:36
working
49:37
with
49:37
Bear
49:37
harbor,
49:38
which
49:38
is
49:38
an
49:39
online
49:39
booking
49:40
company.
49:40
And
49:41
so
49:41
you
49:41
can
49:41
go
49:41
to
49:42
relentlessflyfishing.com
49:43
and
49:44
you
49:44
can
49:44
pick
49:45
your
49:45
location,
49:45
pick
49:46
your
49:46
day,
49:46
and
49:46
then
49:46
pick
49:47
your
49:47
guide
49:48
and
49:48
book
49:48
everything
49:49
online
49:49
right
49:49
there
49:50
to
49:50
get
49:50
a
49:50
confirmation
49:51
email,
49:51
you
49:51
get
49:51
a
49:52
pre
49:52
trip
49:52
packet.
49:53
So
49:53
we've
49:53
made
49:53
it
49:54
pretty
49:54
seamless.
49:55
The
49:55
book
49:56
stuff.
49:56
But
49:56
if
49:56
you
49:57
also
49:57
have
49:58
questions,
49:58
you
49:58
can
49:59
send
49:59
myself
49:59
an
50:00
email@relentless
50:01
spy
50:02
fishingmail.com
50:03
or
50:03
you
50:03
can
50:03
give
50:03
any
50:04
one
50:04
of
50:04
the
50:04
TCO
50:04
shop
50:05
phone
50:05
call
50:06
and
50:06
we've
50:07
got
50:07
somebody
50:08
there
50:08
at
50:08
each
50:08
location
50:09
that
50:09
can
50:10
help
50:10
you
50:10
figure
50:10
out
50:11
what
50:11
you
50:11
want
50:11
to
50:11
do,
50:11
so.
50:12
Well,
50:13
it
50:13
sounds,
50:13
sounds
50:14
pretty
50:14
slick.
50:14
Well,
50:15
I
50:15
appreciate
50:15
you
50:16
taking
50:16
some
50:16
time
50:16
out
50:17
of
50:17
your
50:17
rained
50:18
out
50:18
day
50:19
to
50:19
hang
50:19
out
50:19
with
50:19
me
50:19
and
50:20
talk
50:20
about
50:20
the
50:20
top
50:21
water
50:21
smallmouth
50:22
bass.
50:22
But
50:22
before
50:23
I
50:23
let
50:23
you
50:23
go,
50:23
you
50:23
want
50:24
to
50:24
let
50:24
folks
50:24
know
50:24
the
50:24
best
50:25
way
50:25
to
50:25
get
50:25
in
50:25
touch
50:25
with
50:25
you
50:26
and
50:26
follow
50:27
your
50:27
adventures,
50:28
I
50:28
guess,
50:28
you
50:28
know,
50:29
on
50:29
the
50:29
water,
50:29
at
50:30
the
50:30
vice
50:30
and
50:30
at
50:30
the
50:30
word
50:31
processor.
50:33
Yeah,
50:33
I
50:33
mean,
50:33
most
50:34
of
50:34
my
50:34
stuff's
50:34
on
50:34
Instagram,
50:35
so
50:36
Relentless
50:36
Fly
50:37
Fishing
50:37
is,
50:37
is
50:38
our,
50:38
is
50:38
our
50:38
page.
50:39
You
50:39
know,
50:40
we've
50:40
got
50:40
a
50:40
website,
50:41
Relentless
50:41
Fly
50:42
Fishing.com
50:43
that's
50:43
got
50:44
a
50:44
blog
50:44
that
50:45
we
50:45
update
50:45
about
50:45
two
50:46
to
50:46
three
50:46
times
50:46
a
50:46
month
50:47
with
50:47
different
50:47
fishing,
50:48
you
50:49
know,
50:49
techniques,
50:49
different
50:50
tying
50:50
videos,
50:50
things
50:51
like
50:51
that.
50:51
Also
50:51
have
50:52
a,
50:52
a
50:52
YouTube
50:53
channel,
50:53
which
50:53
is
50:54
relentless
50:54
TV
50:55
getting
50:56
ready
50:56
to
50:56
drop
50:58
a
50:58
new
50:58
cicada
50:59
tying
50:59
video.
50:59
So
51:00
I've
51:00
got
51:00
a
51:00
cicada
51:01
from
51:01
two
51:01
or
51:01
three
51:01
years
51:02
ago
51:02
when
51:02
we
51:02
had
51:02
them
51:03
right
51:03
here.
51:03
But
51:04
while
51:04
tying
51:05
some
51:05
cicadas
51:05
the
51:06
other
51:06
day,
51:06
I
51:07
kind
51:07
of
51:07
came
51:07
up
51:07
with
51:07
a
51:08
new
51:08
pattern.
51:08
So
51:08
that'll
51:09
be
51:09
out.
51:09
So
51:10
Instagram,
51:10
YouTube
51:11
website,
51:11
those
51:12
are
51:12
the
51:12
main
51:12
three.
51:13
And
51:13
then,
51:14
you
51:14
know,
51:14
keep
51:15
your
51:15
eye
51:15
out
51:15
later
51:15
in
51:16
the
51:16
season
51:16
for
51:16
the
51:17
show
51:17
scan
51:17
schedule
51:18
to
51:19
come
51:19
out
51:19
for
51:19
the
51:19
fly
51:19
fishing
51:20
shows
51:20
because
51:20
I'll
51:20
be
51:20
doing
51:21
a
51:21
bunch
51:21
of
51:21
those
51:21
as
51:21
well,
51:22
so.
51:22
And
51:23
I'll
51:23
drop
51:23
links
51:24
to
51:24
all
51:24
that
51:24
stuff
51:24
in
51:24
the
51:24
show
51:25
notes.
51:25
And
51:26
Jake,
51:26
I'm
51:26
sorry
51:27
you're
51:27
going
51:27
to
51:27
be
51:27
off
51:27
the
51:27
water
51:27
for
51:28
a
51:28
few
51:28
days,
51:28
but
51:28
I
51:28
appreciate
51:29
you
51:29
spending
51:29
some
51:29
time
51:29
with
51:29
me
51:29
this
51:30
evening.
51:31
Yeah,
51:31
absolutely.
51:31
I
51:32
mean,
51:32
it's
51:32
part
51:33
of,
51:33
part
51:33
of
51:33
this
51:34
being
51:34
a
51:34
fishing
51:35
guide.
51:35
Some
51:35
you,
51:35
some
51:35
days
51:36
you
51:36
get
51:36
them,
51:36
some
51:36
days
51:36
you
51:36
don't.
51:37
Yeah,
51:37
well,
51:38
hopefully
51:38
our
51:38
paths
51:38
will
51:39
cross
51:39
before,
51:40
before
51:40
Edison
51:40
next
51:41
year.
51:42
Yep.
51:42
I,
51:42
I
51:42
think
51:43
we
51:43
should
51:43
go
51:43
fishing
51:43
sometime
51:44
soon.
51:44
There
51:44
you
51:45
go.
51:45
Take
51:45
care.
51:46
Well,
51:46
folks,
51:47
we
51:47
hope
51:47
you
51:47
enjoyed
51:48
the
51:48
interview
51:48
as
51:48
much
51:48
as
51:48
we
51:49
enjoyed
51:49
bringing
51:49
it
51:49
to
51:50
you.
51:50
Don't
51:50
forget
51:50
to
51:51
check
51:51
out
51:51
the
51:51
links
51:51
to
51:51
all
51:52
of
51:52
this
51:52
episode's
51:52
sponsors
51:53
in
51:53
the
51:53
show
51:53
notes.
51:54
Tight
51:54
lines,
51:55
everybody.
