- 0:33Speaker 1: a big show here. And we will take your phone
- 0:36Speaker 1: calls 877-99 on Fox. That is 877-99 on Fox. Just
- 0:42Speaker 1: me and Taylor today. And of course, the guys in
- 0:45Speaker 1: Sherman Oaks. Taylor, do you get coaching fatigue? Is there
- 0:48Speaker 1: a coach? I am tired of two coaches already in
- 0:52Speaker 1: the NFL. And I feel like there are More coaches
- 0:55Speaker 1: on the hot seat, both in college and the NFL,
- 0:59Speaker 1: this early in a season than any season I could
- 1:02Speaker 1: ever recall.
- 1:03Speaker 2: But I do get coaching fatigue.
- 1:05Speaker 1: We assign these traits to some of these coaches, and
- 1:07Speaker 1: some of these coaches, to me, are a bit overrated
- 1:10Speaker 1: and overexposed. And I'm wondering, do you kind of experience
- 1:13Speaker 1: the same thing with certain coaches?
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm there right now with Nick Sirianni.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:20Speaker 3: I just don't think he's a good coach. I think
- 1:22Speaker 3: he doesn't bring anything to the table offensively. He doesn't
- 1:24Speaker 3: bring anything to the table defensively. He's supposed to be
- 1:27Speaker 3: the CEO style coach. And you're looking at this Philadelphia
- 1:30Speaker 3: Eagles team that kind of beats themselves every week. And
- 1:32Speaker 3: it's like Nick Sirianni. You got to do something to
- 1:35Speaker 3: step in here. I know what you're going to say.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:37Speaker 3: He won a Super Bowl. Yeah, so did Doug Peterson.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I know that, but he's been to two. He should
- 1:41Speaker 1: have won two. They beat Kansas City in one of them.
- 1:43Speaker 1: There is something about beating Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes
- 1:46Speaker 1: and Andy Reid in a Super Bowl that kind of
- 1:49Speaker 1: helps his cause.
- 1:50Speaker 2: He's won two-thirds of his games.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I'm not tired of Sirianni because he entertains me. Whether
- 1:56Speaker 1: they win or lose, Nick Sirianni is entertaining, and so
- 2:00Speaker 1: I don't have kind of coaching fatigue with Nick Sirianni.
- 2:03Speaker 3: The problem that I'm running into with Nick Sirianni, and
- 2:06Speaker 3: I noticed this especially during that game against the Jaguars
- 2:11Speaker 3: in London.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Sirianni wears that Italian patch on his hat, and I.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Love it as a fellow Paisan. That's what I'm saying.
- 2:19Speaker 1: He doesn't give a bleep. He knows Philly hates him.
- 2:22Speaker 1: He knows the fan base doesn't want him there, and
- 2:24Speaker 1: he kind of leans into it.
- 2:25Speaker 2: He cares.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Especially after the success of the Italian baseball team in
- 2:30Speaker 3: the World Baseball Classic where they had Jorge Posada and
- 2:33Speaker 3: Mike Piazza rallying the boy Jack Caglione. Vinny Pasquitino. It
- 2:39Speaker 3: does hurt me to kind of turn on a fellow Italian,
- 2:44Speaker 3: but Nick Sirianni, I think Nick Sirianni's time in Philadelphia
- 2:47Speaker 3: has kind of run its course. He doesn't have Jason Kelsey,
- 2:50Speaker 3: the Lane Johnsons, the Zacherts anymore to kind of bail
- 2:52Speaker 3: him out.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:53Speaker 2: That offensive line was always there to bail him out.
- 2:55Speaker 2: You're right.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And he no longer has that, but I suspect that
- 2:59Speaker 1: team will still win that division.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Yeah. And I mean, the current version of Zacherts, because
- 3:04Speaker 3: I know Zacherts is still in Philadelphia.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Right, but if they win that division, Sirianni's going nowhere, right? Yeah,
- 3:09Speaker 1: it's just hard. They still have a path to win
- 3:13Speaker 1: the NFC East. It's just hard to say that you.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Have a lot of confidence. You really don't have confidence
- 3:18Speaker 3: in any of those teams in the NFC East, which
- 3:21Speaker 3: the crazy thing is you might have the most confidence
- 3:23Speaker 3: in the Giants, but you look at their quarterback situation
- 3:26Speaker 3: with Jackson Dart out for the season and Jameis Winston,
- 3:28Speaker 3: where if Jackson Dart doesn't get hurt, I think if
- 3:32Speaker 3: you're a Giants fan, you're expecting the Giants to kind
- 3:34Speaker 3: of run away with the division.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Probably.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Kurt Cignetti is a guy where I'm worried for him
- 3:39Speaker 1: because we don't have it yet, but I feel like
- 3:41Speaker 1: we'll have coaching fatigue with Kurt Cignetti. Like people are
- 3:44Speaker 1: waiting for the other shoe to drop, you know? He's
- 3:47Speaker 1: had such a great run. He has done something that
- 3:49Speaker 1: no other coach has done. He has taken the worst
- 3:51Speaker 1: college football program in the history of the sport and
- 3:54Speaker 1: has made them national champions.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Relevant. They're plus three and a half this weekend. at
- 4:00Speaker 2: home against Ohio State.
- 4:02Speaker 1: That game normally would be plus 33 and a half
- 4:05Speaker 1: at home for Indiana. So Cignetti, but he's a guy
- 4:08Speaker 1: I feel like people are starting already to get tired
- 4:11Speaker 1: of Kurt Cignetti.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Is that fair?
- 4:13Speaker 3: Yeah, to an extent, but in college football, it feels
- 4:17Speaker 3: like more people are tired of Lane Kiffin than somebody
- 4:20Speaker 3: like Kirk Cignetti, where everybody talks up Lane Kiffin, and
- 4:24Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin, great for the sport of college football, because
- 4:27Speaker 3: I do think you need somebody to hate. Growing up,
- 4:30Speaker 3: I hated Nick Saban, and I hated those Alabama teams.
- 4:33Speaker 3: You do need that villain in college football, but I
- 4:36Speaker 3: do think there's a certain extent of people that are
- 4:39Speaker 3: more tired with... With what Lane Kiffin has done the
- 4:43Speaker 3: past couple years where you listen to people and how
- 4:47Speaker 3: they talk about Lane Kiffin and the conversation. It's Lane
- 4:49Speaker 3: Kiffin this, Lane Kiffin that. Lane Kiffin doesn't have a
- 4:52Speaker 3: national title. At least Kirk Cignetti does.
- 4:54Speaker 2: At Indiana.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 2: It's worth five.
- 4:57Speaker 1: The most improbable place ever to win a national championship.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And Cignetti has done it there. And Lane Kiffin has
- 5:04Speaker 1: yet to do it. Didn't do it at Mississippi and
- 5:06Speaker 1: will not do it this year at LSU. And yet
- 5:09Speaker 1: all we do is talk about Lane Kiffin. Be sure
- 5:11Speaker 1: to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company live weekdays
- 5:16Speaker 1: at 3 p.m.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Eastern, 12 p.m. Pacific. Sean McVay. I know you're going
- 5:22Speaker 2: to say to me he's won a Super Bowl.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I know the things that you're going to say to
- 5:26Speaker 1: me about McVay and how great McVay is. But McVay,
- 5:30Speaker 1: if you think back to that Super Bowl, he was
- 5:32Speaker 1: lucky to win that Super Bowl. First game on the road,
- 5:35Speaker 1: I think it was in Tampa. The Bucs should have
- 5:38Speaker 1: won that game. Someone in the Tampa Bay secondary dropped
- 5:41Speaker 1: an easy interception. Otherwise, the Rams don't win that Super Bowl.
- 5:45Speaker 1: And what he did recently after losing to the Bills
- 5:49Speaker 1: in what probably was the game of the year thus
- 5:51Speaker 1: far in the NFL until this weekend when someone else
- 5:55Speaker 1: has a better game. But what he did was take
- 5:58Speaker 1: no accountability. What he did was cut his kicker. And
- 6:03Speaker 1: that drives me crazy. Because Sean McVay is the guy
- 6:07Speaker 1: who selected that kicker, who put that kicker on the team. Like,
- 6:11Speaker 1: they pay attention to the details in L.A., McVay and Snead,
- 6:15Speaker 1: and they're fantastic. But they don't pay any attention to
- 6:20Speaker 1: special teams. And so McVay to cut the kicker after
- 6:24Speaker 1: that game where the Rams drive down the field and
- 6:27Speaker 1: they have an opportunity at home to win that game
- 6:32Speaker 1: by going for two. You have all the momentum. You
- 6:36Speaker 1: have a defense that can't stop you. You have an
- 6:38Speaker 1: all-time quarterback, an offense that can't be stopped. You have
- 6:42Speaker 1: Devontae Adams and Puka Nakua. And you decide to send
- 6:48Speaker 1: the game to overtime rather than to try and win
- 6:51Speaker 1: it right then and there.
- 6:52Speaker 2: And then what happens from there? They go to overtime.
- 6:54Speaker 2: They lose the game. Kicker has the kick blocked. And
- 6:57Speaker 2: the kicker gets cut.
- 6:58Speaker 1: And I don't hear McVay saying, talking about his poor
- 7:01Speaker 1: decision-making at the end of that game to not go
- 7:04Speaker 1: for two when his offense was unstoppable, and they might
- 7:08Speaker 1: have the most unstoppable wide receiver in the history of
- 7:11Speaker 1: the NFL in the red zone in Devontae Adams. How
- 7:14Speaker 1: he doesn't go for two in that spot is beyond me, Taylor.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I would actually defend Sean McVay not going for two there,
- 7:22Speaker 3: and I would use a lot of the points that
- 7:24Speaker 3: you made. You have a great wide receiver duo in
- 7:27Speaker 3: Puka Nukua and Devontae Adams. You have the reigning MVP
- 7:30Speaker 3: in Matthew Stafford. You don't want the game to come
- 7:33Speaker 3: down to just a single play. If you have that
- 7:36Speaker 3: much confidence in your offense... you want them to have
- 7:40Speaker 3: a larger sample size to try to determine a game.
- 7:42Speaker 3: That's where you go for overtime. You're at home. You
- 7:45Speaker 3: have the home crowd. You really just have to trust
- 7:47Speaker 3: your defense to make a stop against Josh Allen, which
- 7:50Speaker 3: is the bigger question. The defense did make the stop,
- 7:52Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden it just turns into
- 7:54Speaker 3: now you have to just have one possession where it
- 7:57Speaker 3: ends in a score. I think the bigger knock on
- 7:59Speaker 3: McVay is the play calling at the end of the
- 8:02Speaker 3: overtime where you have that decision. I think it's a
- 8:05Speaker 3: situation where... The Rams are two and two going into
- 8:10Speaker 3: that fourth quarter. Yes. If the Rams are like four
- 8:13Speaker 3: and one or three and one and you have more
- 8:16Speaker 3: wiggle room, then maybe, yeah, you go for two there
- 8:19Speaker 3: because of the fact that they're sitting at 500. I
- 8:22Speaker 3: think the Rams had to approach that game from a
- 8:25Speaker 3: safer mindset. to just try to get out of that
- 8:27Speaker 3: game with a win when the person across from you
- 8:31Speaker 3: is Josh Allen.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Right. Well, I don't give Josh Allen another chance. I
- 8:34Speaker 1: win it or lose it right there by going for two.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Trust your offense. Trust the Hall of Fame quarterback that
- 8:40Speaker 1: you wanted on your team. You traded Jared Goff to
- 8:42Speaker 1: get him. He won you a Super Bowl. He was
- 8:44Speaker 1: the MVP last year. Trust your quarterback in that spot
- 8:47Speaker 1: to get you two, three yards, win the game, and
- 8:50Speaker 1: go home. And so we assign all these attributes to
- 8:53Speaker 1: Sean McVay. Really, what has Sean McVay done? You're going
- 8:57Speaker 1: to say he won a Super Bowl, and I'm going
- 8:59Speaker 1: to tell you he was lucky to win that Super Bowl.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And yet we sit here and we talk about him
- 9:03Speaker 1: as one of the all-time great coaches in the history
- 9:06Speaker 1: of the NFL. Doug Peterson, as you pointed out earlier,
- 9:09Speaker 1: won a Super Bowl. He has as many Super Bowls
- 9:13Speaker 1: as Doug Peterson. Peterson did it with a backup. How
- 9:16Speaker 1: about that? Win one with Nick Foles.
- 9:20Speaker 3: There was a stat on the broadcast, too, from Joe
- 9:23Speaker 3: Buck on the ESPN broadcast where I'm pretty sure they
- 9:26Speaker 3: said the last two-point conversion from the Rams was in, like,
- 9:30Speaker 3: 2023 or, like, early 2024.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Which sounds, like, statistically impossible when you consider how many
- 9:37Speaker 3: weapons they have.
- 9:38Speaker 2: In that offense.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I mean, how do you not trust? I understand what
- 9:43Speaker 2: you're saying about the record.
- 9:44Speaker 1: But when you have those offensive weapons and that quarterback
- 9:47Speaker 1: and the team you're playing has that quarterback who you
- 9:50Speaker 1: don't want to see on the field again, why not
- 9:52Speaker 1: take your chances getting three yards and end the game?
- 9:55Speaker 1: And so what he does after the game is the
- 9:57Speaker 1: most cowardly thing a coach can do.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Do.
- 10:00Speaker 2: He doesn't blame himself. He takes no accountability. He cuts
- 10:03Speaker 2: his kicker. Get out of here.
- 10:06Speaker 3: So I have this stat. Under Sean McVay, the Rams
- 10:09Speaker 3: have used 10 kickers since he became the head coach
- 10:13Speaker 3: in 2017. They have also had 81 missed or blocked
- 10:17Speaker 3: kicks since then, which is the third most in the NFL.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Right. Pay attention to the details. I mean, all three phases,
- 10:24Speaker 1: special teams, he ignores special teams.
- 10:26Speaker 2: He doesn't care. And then when he loses a game.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Because he doesn't go for two, he cuts the kicker
- 10:31Speaker 1: that he put.
- 10:31Speaker 2: On the team.
- 10:32Speaker 3: That seems like a popular thing though, for people to
- 10:35Speaker 3: kind of disregard special teams. You just hope that your
- 10:38Speaker 3: NFL coach also isn't with the, the, the every like
- 10:42Speaker 3: no everyday fan is going into the game saying, oh man,
- 10:46Speaker 3: our special teams has to be great today. They're talking
- 10:48Speaker 3: about their offense. They're talking about their defense. They're not
- 10:51Speaker 3: talking about the procedure of your field goal operation.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Yes.
- 10:56Speaker 3: It seems like that has kind of leaked over into
- 10:58Speaker 3: the Rams building though. Yes.
- 11:00Speaker 1: You only notice the special teams when the special teams
- 11:02Speaker 1: cost you a game. No one is going to a game,
- 11:07Speaker 1: you're right, excited because, hey, we're going to watch our
- 11:10Speaker 1: special teams unit play today. But you notice them, like
- 11:14Speaker 1: a referee when he makes a bad call. The biggest
- 11:16Speaker 1: compliment you can give a ref is no one notices
- 11:18Speaker 1: he's there, right? And the biggest compliment you can give
- 11:21Speaker 1: your special teams is the same. No one notices that
- 11:24Speaker 1: you're there. But when they notice and it costs you
- 11:26Speaker 1: a game, then you get cut. And Sean McVay taking
- 11:29Speaker 1: no accountability is just lame. And I'm sorry, we assigned
- 11:33Speaker 1: too many positive attributes to Sean McVay, who has done
- 11:37Speaker 1: the same thing as Doug Peterson, but Doug Peterson.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Did it with a backup.
- 11:39Speaker 3: I feel bad what we're doing to Doug Peterson.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I don't feel bad about what we're doing to Sean McVay.
- 11:46Speaker 2: He deserves it. Taylor, did you know.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I'm wondering here, Taylor, because there's a team and there's
- 12:05Speaker 1: a player that changed your life.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I am wondering if you are so far.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Removed from them winning a championship that you have forgotten
- 12:13Speaker 1: that the NBA season starts next week.
- 12:17Speaker 3: The better way to ask that question, Stu.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Did I know the Knicks are raising a banner on Tuesday?
- 12:23Speaker 3: It's been the only thing on my calendar since they
- 12:25Speaker 3: won it all.
- 12:26Speaker 2: It's circled, is it?
- 12:28Speaker 3: Tuesday, so Tuesday is October 20th. It's actually my mom's birthday.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Wow.
- 12:32Speaker 3: I texted her.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Special.
- 12:34Speaker 3: I texted her. I'm so jealous of your birthday. You
- 12:36Speaker 3: get to share a day with the Knicks banner. I
- 12:38Speaker 3: would move my birthday from March 1st to either the
- 12:41Speaker 3: day the Knicks won it all or the Knicks banner night.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Where are you as a Knicks fan? Like, did the
- 12:46Speaker 1: championship last year, is that enough? Are you satisfied as
- 12:50Speaker 1: a fan or do you want more because you know
- 12:53Speaker 1: the window is going to close on this team?
- 12:54Speaker 2: It's going to close very quickly.
- 12:56Speaker 1: There is, you know, we have no guarantee that Carl
- 12:59Speaker 1: Anthony Towns will be there long term.
- 13:01Speaker 2: They haven't been able to work out a deal. Was
- 13:03Speaker 2: the one championship enough?
- 13:05Speaker 1: Meaning, if you never see the Knicks win another championship again,
- 13:09Speaker 1: never raise another banner again, are you good?
- 13:13Speaker 3: The greedy sports fan in me says, no, I'm not
- 13:15Speaker 3: good because I went in with that mindset thinking I'm 32.
- 13:19Speaker 3: I thought there was a chance I would be like
- 13:21Speaker 3: you with the jets. I would never see my team
- 13:23Speaker 3: win a title.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Right.
- 13:24Speaker 3: And especially for, for a majority of my life, the
- 13:27Speaker 3: Knicks have given me no reason to think that they
- 13:30Speaker 3: would ever be able to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy.
- 13:32Speaker 3: And then, then you mentioned Jalen Brunson comes into my life.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I said, I think this guy's going to change my life.
- 13:37Speaker 3: And what did Jalen Brunson do? He changed my life.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Now that I've seen it and I've got that taste
- 13:43Speaker 3: of success, I'm addicted to it.
- 13:45Speaker 2: You want more?
- 13:46Speaker 3: I want more banners.
- 13:47Speaker 1: So I waited a lot longer than you did to
- 13:50Speaker 1: get that championship. I'm a lot older than you are,
- 13:52Speaker 1: so I'm good. If they never win another one, at
- 13:54Speaker 1: least I got one. I understand, though, why you, a
- 13:58Speaker 1: young man, 32 years old, you're greedy, you're selfish, and
- 14:02Speaker 1: you think you're satisfied, you think you're satiated.
- 14:06Speaker 2: But God forbid they get.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Off to like a 2-8 start, you will start ripping
- 14:09Speaker 1: Jalen Brunson to shreds.
- 14:11Speaker 3: No, no, I'll never rip Jalen Brunson. Jalen Brunson has
- 14:14Speaker 3: earned the... So I have a lifetime pass.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Jalen Brunson has received the Taylor Vipolis lifetime pass, where
- 14:22Speaker 3: I will never rip Jalen Brunson.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Is that the first time you've given someone a lifetime pass?
- 14:27Speaker 3: Yes. Derek Jeter. Derek Jeter also has a lifetime pass.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Jeter has a lifetime pass.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Who else has a lifetime pass in sports? I feel
- 14:34Speaker 1: like Kurt Cignetti at Indiana. has a lifetime pass in sports.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Well, I think certain fan bases give out lifetime passes.
- 14:41Speaker 3: I'm a North Carolina basketball fan, North Carolina football fan.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Roy Williams has a lifetime pass. The last couple of
- 14:48Speaker 3: seasons with Roy Williams, when the transfer portal error started coming,
- 14:52Speaker 3: we're not good. But I was saying Roy Williams has
- 14:56Speaker 3: more than earned the right to go out however he
- 14:58Speaker 3: wants to go out in Chapel Hill. So that's why
- 15:00Speaker 3: Roy Williams, if you checked Roy Williams' wallet, you would
- 15:03Speaker 3: see the Taylor lifetime pass.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Really? They carry it around in a wallet, huh? They
- 15:07Speaker 2: show it off.
- 15:08Speaker 3: It's laminated. So if, Jalen Brunson has the lifetime pass.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 15:14Speaker 3: If the Knicks get off to a slow start in
- 15:17Speaker 3: the month of October and it starts bleeding over to November,
- 15:20Speaker 3: I have no problem calling for Mike Brown's job again.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Okay, so he doesn't have the lifetime pass. He was
- 15:24Speaker 1: the coach of the team that won you a change
- 15:26Speaker 1: your life.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Correct. Carl Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, none of those guys
- 15:30Speaker 3: have lifetime passes. What? Because Jalen Brunson was essentially the
- 15:33Speaker 3: catalyst that- got this team over the hump.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Right. Does OG have a lifetime pass?
- 15:38Speaker 3: That's a good call for the tip in. That's a
- 15:40Speaker 3: good call.
- 15:44Speaker 2: He does.
- 15:45Speaker 3: If you, if your singular sports moment was one of
- 15:51Speaker 3: the greatest moments of my life, right? Lifetime pass.
- 15:54Speaker 2: It depends on the city, right?
- 15:55Speaker 1: You would think that Nick Sirianni after winning a Superbowl,
- 15:58Speaker 1: beating the chiefs, beating Andy Reed, beating Patrick Mahomes and
- 16:01Speaker 1: almost doing it twice. you would think he would have
- 16:03Speaker 1: a lifetime pass. But the second he makes a mistake,
- 16:05Speaker 1: people want him fired.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Yeah, every city's standards are a bit different. Like Eli Manning.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Eli Manning had a lifetime pass in New York when
- 16:13Speaker 3: he beats Tom Brady in two Super Bowls. He beats
- 16:16Speaker 3: Bill Belichick in two Super Bowls. Where Eli Manning could
- 16:19Speaker 3: have sputtered out at the end of his career in
- 16:21Speaker 3: New York, which he kind of did. New York fans
- 16:24Speaker 3: were like, this guy has earned the right to go
- 16:26Speaker 3: out his way.
- 16:27Speaker 2: It is so odd.
- 16:27Speaker 1: It is totally based on where it is that you coach.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Because you would think, of course, Ryan Day has a
- 16:32Speaker 1: lifetime past, but he doesn't.
- 16:33Speaker 3: No.
- 16:34Speaker 1: God forbid he loses to Michigan this year. He might
- 16:37Speaker 1: find himself on the hot seat. So it really depends
- 16:40Speaker 1: on where it is that you coach, the location, how
- 16:43Speaker 1: passionate the fan base is for the team.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Like the 86 Mets.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Dwight Gooden, they won a World Series. And after that, Gooden, Strawberry,
- 16:53Speaker 1: they got worse. The team wasn't as good. But they
- 16:55Speaker 1: have a lifetime pass with me.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I was okay. It's laminated.
- 16:58Speaker 3: If you're looking in South Florida, I think Mario Cristobal
- 17:00Speaker 3: is teetering on lifetime pass.
- 17:03Speaker 2: He has to win one, though, right?
- 17:06Speaker 3: I think Miami has been so starved for success that
- 17:09Speaker 3: the fact that they're even making it to the playoffs
- 17:11Speaker 3: with regularity. Now, Miami still hasn't won an ACC title
- 17:14Speaker 3: since they've joined the ACC, which is shocking when The
- 17:17Speaker 3: Duke Blue Devils have in football.
- 17:19Speaker 1: But Mario got to a national championship game.
- 17:23Speaker 2: He didn't win it.
- 17:24Speaker 1: The expectation down here is to win national championships for Miami.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I feel like he has a pass for now, but
- 17:30Speaker 1: if he doesn't win a championship the next three or
- 17:32Speaker 1: four years. And I know Miami fans better than anyone.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I've been doing it down here for 20 years. They
- 17:37Speaker 1: will turn on him in a heartbeat.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Spoh lifetime pass? Yes. Spoh, yes.
- 17:41Speaker 2: 100%.
- 17:41Speaker 3: And Riley, of course.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Well, no. I'm not so certain. Sometimes people call Riley.
- 17:47Speaker 2: He's over the hill hanging up.
- 17:49Speaker 3: There's not much lifetime left.
- 17:52Speaker 2: College football next.
