- 3:24is Series 5, Show 30, Building the Habits
- 3:28that Shape an Extraordinary Life, and How to
- 3:31Turn Challenges into Opportunities.
- 3:32That's what it's about today, Series 5, Show
- 3:3430, Episode 6.
- 3:35Welcome everyone to the ever-popular Inspirations for
- 3:38Your Life show.
- 3:39I am John C.
- 3:41Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 3:46podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student at
- 3:49Montclair State University, passionate lifelong learner, and grateful
- 3:54now to be a published author.
- 3:56Hey, everyone, welcome.
- 3:58Every successful person has one thing in common.
- 4:01They face challenges.
- 4:03The difference isn't that they experience fewer obstacles.
- 4:07The difference is that they learn to view
- 4:09the obstacles as opportunities to grow.
- 4:13Challenges test our patience and strengthen our character
- 4:16and offer reveal abilities we didn't know we
- 4:19possessed.
- 4:20Instead of asking why something is difficult, ask
- 4:24what it can teach you.
- 4:26Today, I'm going to explore how changing your
- 4:29perspective can transform life's greatest challenges into some
- 4:34of your greatest opportunities.
- 4:35Are you ready?
- 4:36I know I am.
- 4:37Number one, challenges create growth.
- 4:40Growth rarely happens when everything is comfortable.
- 4:43Challenges stretch your abilities, strengthen your mindset, and
- 4:46encourage you to become more capable than you
- 4:49were before.
- 4:50Every obstacle is an opportunity to grow even
- 4:53stronger.
- 4:54Number two, problems reveal solutions.
- 4:57Every problem creates the possibility of a solution.
- 5:01Instead of becoming overwhelmed by what's wrong, train
- 5:05yourself to search for what's possible.
- 5:08Great innovations often begin by solving difficult problems.
- 5:13Number three, stay adaptable.
- 5:15Life rarely unfolds exactly as planned.
- 5:18Adaptability allows you to adjust without giving up
- 5:22on your goals.
- 5:23Flexible thinking keeps you moving forward even when
- 5:26circumstances change unexpectedly.
- 5:29And I think when a circumstance change or
- 5:33changes, people are like, I don't know what
- 5:35I need to do.
- 5:36And I think you got to embrace the
- 5:38moment and move from that, right?
- 5:40Number four, think creatively.
- 5:42Sometimes the best solution isn't the most obvious
- 5:45one.
- 5:46Creativity allows you to see opportunities others overlook.
- 5:49Looking at problems from different perspectives often reveals
- 5:52unexpected answers.
- 5:55Number five, learn from adversity.
- 6:02Difficult experiences often teach lessons that success never
- 6:06could.
- 6:07Adversity develops patience, resilience, wisdom, and appreciation.
- 6:12Every difficult season has something valuable to teach
- 6:16us.
- 6:17I think that's important.
- 6:18Number six, stay optimistic, please.
- 6:21Optimism doesn't ignore reality.
- 6:23It chooses to believe that improvement is possible.
- 6:27A positive mindset helps you focus on solutions
- 6:30instead of becoming trapped by problems around us.
- 6:33Number seven, every setback teaches.
- 6:36Every setback provides valuable information.
- 6:39Instead of viewing failure as the end of
- 6:41the journey, see it as feedback.
- 6:44It helps improve your next attempt.
- 6:46Lessons become stepping stones toward future success.
- 6:51Number eight, build resilience.
- 6:53Resilience develops each time you recover from disappointment.
- 6:58Every challenge you overcome increases your confidence and
- 7:02reminds you that you can handle more than
- 7:05you once believed.
- 7:06Number nine, keep improving.
- 7:08No matter what happens, continue becoming better.
- 7:12Small improvements made consistently allow you to respond
- 7:15more effectively to future challenges.
- 7:18Growth is always worth the effort, guys.
- 7:20So why don't we put it in all
- 7:22the time?
- 7:23Sometimes people are lazy.
- 7:24Sometimes it's because of a he said, she
- 7:26said situation.
- 7:27Or it's a perspective we have that is
- 7:29probably wrong.
- 7:32Yeah, that's important, guys, really important.
- 7:46And I think that's an important piece for
- 7:48us to reflect on.
- 7:51Number 10, focus on opportunity, please.
- 7:54Within every challenge lies an opportunity to learn,
- 7:58improve, or discover a new direction.
- 8:00Train yourself to look beyond the obstacle and
- 8:02toward the possibilities waiting on the other side.
- 8:06Number 11, guys, stay determined.
- 8:08Persistence often separates success from failure.
- 8:11Continue moving forward even when progress feels slow.
- 8:14Determination allows you to outlast temporary setbacks and
- 8:17continue pursuing meaningful goals.
- 8:20Number 12, adjust your strategy.
- 8:22When something isn't working, change your approach.
- 8:26Instead of abandoning your dream, flexibility allows you
- 8:29to discover better methods while remaining committed to
- 8:33your destination.
- 8:35Number 13, learn quickly.
- 8:37Every experience provides feedback.
- 8:39The faster you learn from mistakes, the faster
- 8:42you improve.
- 8:43Learning quickly transforms setbacks into valuable preparation.
- 8:48Number 14, move forward.
- 8:50Don't allow yesterday's disappointment to prevent tomorrow's success.
- 8:54Accept the lesson, make the adjustment, and keep
- 8:57moving.
- 8:59Forward progress always creates new possibilities.
- 9:03Number 15, stay patient.
- 9:04Meaningful growth takes time.
- 9:07Don't expect every challenge to disappear immediately.
- 9:10Patience allows you to remain committed while trusting
- 9:13that consistent effort produces lasting results.
- 9:17Number 16, every obstacle has value.
- 9:21Every obstacle teaches something that comfort never can.
- 9:25Difficult moments strengthen your judgment, expand your perspective,
- 9:28and prepare you for future opportunities.
- 9:31The value isn't always obvious, guys, at first,
- 9:35but every challenge contributes to your growth.
- 9:39I think when we think about growth and
- 9:41we think about where we're going, people sometimes,
- 9:44you know, they get into this daze, and
- 9:47that's a problem, right?
- 9:52And if we know that we can make
- 9:55a change, that should motivate us to go
- 9:59one place.
- 10:00But if we don't, then we can be
- 10:03pushed back, okay?
- 10:07We can be pushed back, not because we
- 10:09want to be pushed back, but because we
- 10:15want to make a change in our life
- 10:17that's really, really good.
- 10:26I think many people stumble on something I
- 10:30want to say is growth.
- 10:32Growth requires discomfort, okay?
- 10:34Personal growth begins where your comfort zone ends.
- 10:38The willingness to embrace uncertainty opens the door
- 10:41to new skills, greater confidence, and stronger character.
- 10:46Temporary discomfort often creates permanent improvement.
- 10:50Number 18, solve problems, guys.
- 10:53Don't create new ones.
- 10:54Instead of dwelling on what's wrong, become someone
- 10:58who looks for solutions.
- 11:00I've said before, if you're not part of
- 11:02the solution, guess what?
- 11:03You are part of the problem.
- 11:09You're part of the problem.
- 11:13Every problem you solve increases your confidence a
- 11:17little more and builds your ability to handle
- 11:19future challenges.
- 11:20Solution-focused thinking creates momentum.
- 11:24Number 19, build experience.
- 11:26Experience is earned through action, not observation.
- 11:30Every challenge you face expands your understanding and
- 11:33prepares you for the next opportunity.
- 11:36Nothing replaces the wisdom gained through real experience.
- 11:41And I think when we can understand that
- 11:44experience is something we learn, that's the key,
- 11:48guys.
- 11:50That's the big key.
- 11:56I think sometimes people just don't, like, understand
- 12:00things.
- 12:02And the reason I understand things is because
- 12:03they see something for what it is, but
- 12:10not what it really is.
- 12:15What do I mean by that?
- 12:23I think many people don't understand the fact
- 12:31that they have the choice to become much
- 12:34better in life.
- 12:35Even if everyone else around you said it's
- 12:37not possible, it is possible.
- 12:39If you believe it.
- 12:42Discipline, guys, keeps you moving when motivation fades.
- 12:45And it will fade from time to time.
- 12:47Continue doing what needs to be done, even
- 12:50when the results aren't immediate.
- 12:55A lot of people, when they don't see
- 12:56any results, they want to pack up and
- 12:58they want to go home.
- 13:09They want to go home.
- 13:11They want to start over.
- 13:22And I can tell you that is something
- 13:26that can push you forward.
- 13:27Or pull you back.
- 13:32Our perceptions create our reality.
- 13:37Our discipline creates our structure.
- 13:43If we're not disciplined, we're never going to
- 13:46get anywhere.
- 13:47I'm sorry, guys.
- 13:49It's the truth.
- 13:51Consistent discipline transforms difficult seasons into meaningful progress.
- 13:59Into meaningful progress.
- 14:03Progress that I think a lot of people
- 14:04are going to say to myself, well, gee,
- 14:06John, I don't quite get that.
- 14:07I don't quite understand that.
- 14:10Right?
- 14:11I think that happens because people, again, they
- 14:15get stuck.
- 14:19They get stuck.
- 14:22And that stuckness is about you.
- 14:27It's about where you could be going in
- 14:29life.
- 14:30Not where you are, but where you could
- 14:33be going in life.
- 14:41Stuckness sometimes puts us in a place that
- 14:43we didn't think was even possible for us.
- 14:45Didn't know that that was going to happen.
- 14:48Didn't understand the whole concept of it.
- 14:52Right?
- 14:54It happens, guys.
- 14:57And this thing that happens to us either
- 15:00motivates us or demotivates us.
- 15:03I think that's a huge, huge problem in
- 15:07life.
- 15:08Constant discipline transforms the difficult seasons into meaningful
- 15:14progress.
- 15:17Into meaningful progress.
- 15:24I think that's something that a lot of
- 15:26people, like, don't understand.
- 15:31And they realize that maybe they're not going
- 15:34the right way.
- 15:35Right?
- 15:35Maybe.
- 15:36Maybe they are.
- 15:37Maybe they're not.
- 15:44Maybe that's where they are.
- 15:46Maybe it's not.
- 15:47Right?
- 15:49But I can tell you this.
- 15:51I can tell you that it makes a
- 15:54difference in our lives.
- 15:59Okay?
- 16:00It makes a huge, huge difference in our
- 16:03lives.
- 16:05But we have to embrace this stuff, guys.
- 16:10We have to embrace it.
- 16:13We can't expect it to magically just happen
- 16:16in our lives.
- 16:17We have to embrace what's going on.
- 16:21Why it's going on.
- 16:22Right?
- 16:23We have to embrace that.
- 16:30We have to embrace that whole concept of
- 16:34why something's going on, or how something's going
- 16:36on, or what's even happening in our lives.
- 16:47I think those are important things, guys.
- 16:56Important things that people don't realize.
- 17:03Things that might create an entirely new world
- 17:07for us.
- 17:10Right?
- 17:18I think that scares some people to know
- 17:23that, you know, that's where they are.
- 17:28And where we are is a huge thing
- 17:33for life.
- 17:35But it does cause some people to change
- 17:39their perspectives.
- 17:45To change their perspectives.
- 17:52It causes that to happen.
- 17:56And hopefully that can make a difference in
- 17:59your life.
- 18:01Again, maybe not overnight.
- 18:05But maybe eventually it will make a difference
- 18:09for you.
- 18:15And if it doesn't make a difference, what
- 18:17do you do?
- 18:19Well, you say, look, this is where we're
- 18:20at right now.
- 18:24And you go from there.
- 18:27And if you can't go from there, then
- 18:28you got to figure out how do you
- 18:30move forward?
- 18:33How do you move forward?
- 18:34And I think that's the real problem.
- 18:40How do you move forward?
- 18:44And I think that's a big problem.
- 18:51But it's something we all have to understand.
- 18:54It's something that many people have to understand.
- 19:00Because if we don't understand it, then it's
- 19:02going to be like, well, where are we?
- 19:04Like, what are we doing?
- 19:05Right?
- 19:06And then you're going to like get yourself
- 19:08all like in a tailspin.
- 19:10Like, what's happening?
- 19:13Right?
- 19:14I mean, that's just, that's the honest truth,
- 19:17guys.
- 19:22That's the honest truth.
- 19:25So let's jump to number 21.
- 19:27Choose progress.
- 19:28Perfection isn't the goal.
- 19:30Progress is.
- 19:31Every positive step moves you closer to where
- 19:34you want to be.
- 19:35Small improvements may consistently produce extraordinary results over
- 19:39time.
- 19:40Number 22, learn from failure.
- 19:43Failure isn't something to fear.
- 19:45It's something to study.
- 19:46Every successful attempt provides valuable insight that helps
- 19:50you improve your next approach.
- 19:53Growth begins when lessons replace disappointment.
- 19:56I think that's something a lot of people,
- 19:58they, they forget that.
- 20:04Okay?
- 20:05They, they forget what that is.
- 20:11They forget why things are happening a certain
- 20:13way.
- 20:17Right?
- 20:20I think that's an important piece.
- 20:26All right?
- 20:28And hopefully that'll make some sense for you.
- 20:29I mean, I'm hoping it will.
- 20:33Number 23, improve your approach.
- 20:36Sometimes success doesn't require changing your goal.
- 20:39It requires changing your strategy.
- 20:40Remain flexible enough to adjust your methods while
- 20:44staying committed to your vision.
- 20:46Better strategies create better outcomes.
- 20:49Number 24, stay persistent.
- 20:52Persistence means refusing to let temporary obstacles become
- 20:56permanent barriers.
- 20:57Continue taking the next step even when progress
- 21:00feels slow.
- 21:01Persistence often succeeds where talent alone cannot.
- 21:05Number 25, please build momentum.
- 21:10Not just today, not just tomorrow, but I
- 21:12want you to do it every single day
- 21:14of your life.
- 21:15Because that'll motivate you to go to your
- 21:18next step.
- 21:20Okay?
- 21:21Every completed task creates confidence for the next
- 21:24one pending.
- 21:26Small victories build positive momentum that makes future
- 21:29challenges feel more manageable.
- 21:31Momentum grows through consistent action.
- 21:34Number 26, keep believing, guys.
- 21:37Believe in your growth.
- 21:40Believe in your ability to grow, adapt, and
- 21:42improve.
- 21:43Confidence isn't pretending challenges don't exist.
- 21:46It's trusting that you have the ability to
- 21:48overcome them.
- 21:49Your belief influences every decision you make.
- 21:52That's important.
- 21:53Number 27, create opportunity.
- 21:55Don't spend your life waiting for perfect opportunities
- 21:57to appear.
- 21:58Look for ways to create them through initiative,
- 22:01preparation, and consistent effort.
- 22:03Opportunity often follows those willing to take action.
- 22:07Number 28, stay resourceful.
- 22:09You may not always have every resource you
- 22:13want, but you can make the best use
- 22:15of the resources you already have.
- 22:19Resourceful people focus on possibilities instead of limitations.
- 22:23Creativity often grows during challenging times.
- 22:26Number 29, never quit growing.
- 22:29Every challenge offers another opportunity to become wiser,
- 22:32stronger, and more capable.
- 22:33Continue learning, adapting, and improving regardless of your
- 22:37current level of success.
- 22:39Growth is a lifelong journey.
- 22:41Number 30, challenges prepare you for success.
- 22:44Looking back, you'll often realize your greatest struggles
- 22:47prepared you for your greatest opportunities.
- 22:50Every lesson, every setback, and every obstacle helped
- 22:54shape the person you became.
- 22:56Challenges don't exist to stop you.
- 22:58They exist to prepare you for what is
- 23:00next in your life.
- 23:01I think that's an important piece we need
- 23:03to work on.
- 23:04In closing here today, challenges are an unavoidable
- 23:08part of life, but they never have to
- 23:13define your future.
- 23:14What truly matters isn't the obstacle standing in
- 23:17your way.
- 23:18It's the attitude, determination, and resilience you choose
- 23:22to bring to it.
- 23:23Every challenge gives you an opportunity to grow
- 23:26stronger, think differently, and become more capable than
- 23:30you were yesterday.
- 23:32That's an important piece, guys.
- 23:35Every day, you're changing your life.
- 23:39And when you change your life, things happen
- 23:42that you never believed were actually possible.
- 23:49That's key, guys.
- 23:50Really, really key.
- 23:51Remember, ladies and gentlemen, that some of life's
- 23:54greatest opportunities arrive disguised as problems.
- 23:57Stay adaptable, remain optimistic, continue learning, and never
- 24:01allow temporary setbacks to convince you that your
- 24:04best days are behind you.
- 24:07Every obstacle you overcome strengthens your confidence and
- 24:10prepares you for even greater opportunities ahead.
- 24:13I think that's really the message, is that
- 24:17we can go far if, if, if, we
- 24:22believe in ourselves, we stay consistent, and we
- 24:26have a structure.
- 24:31Consistency and structure.
- 24:37Consistency and structure.
- 24:41And those are the two things you need
- 24:42to be successful, okay?
- 24:44Motivation's great, but motivation's going to wane back
- 24:46and forth, back and forth.
- 24:48Ladies and gentlemen, I thank you so much
- 24:50for joining me for another episode of Inspirations
- 24:52for Your Life.
- 24:53I'm John C.
- 24:54Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 25:00podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student at
- 25:03Montclair State University, passionate lifelong learner, and so
- 25:08grateful now to be a published author.
- 25:10Ladies and gentlemen, until next time, please embrace
- 25:13every challenge with confidence.
- 25:16Look for the opportunity hidden within every obstacle.
- 25:19And remember that your greatest growth often begins
- 25:22when life becomes difficult.
- 25:25Keep learning.
- 25:27Keep improving.
- 25:29Keep moving forward.
- 25:34And continue building the habits that shape an
- 25:39extraordinary life.
- 25:41Now, I can only lead you to the
- 25:43water.
- 25:44I can't make you drink it, nor would
- 25:45I want to.
- 25:47You have to be invested in this and
- 25:50want to make change in your life.
- 25:51If you do, your life is going to
- 25:54change.
- 25:55If you don't, your life won't.
- 25:57And you're going to wonder, well, why is
- 26:00this happening this way?
- 26:00Why am I constantly back the same place?
- 26:05I can tell you why.
- 26:08Because you don't understand what we learned from
- 26:12Einstein, insanity.
- 26:14Doing the same thing over and over again,
- 26:16expecting results, that is insanity.
- 26:19That is insanity.
- 26:22And none of you are insane, but yet
- 26:24you're acting insane.
- 26:32Life should be playful.
- 26:35Life should be creative.
- 26:37Life should be a game where if something
- 26:39doesn't work, well, you experiment.
- 26:41You change something out.
- 26:43You don't get stressed.
- 26:46That's how it works.
- 26:49That's how it works.
