- 0:09Christmas comes early this year on December 20th in fact, as
- 0:12Muppet fans are treated to another live Muppet script
- 0:15reading, this time featuring the beloved Muppet Christmas Carol.
- 0:18Tough Pigs is once again proud to present the show's companion
- 0:21podcast where we'll chat with the people involved in bringing
- 0:23the show to life. My first guest and in a way my
- 0:26Co host in this miniseries as an old friend to us here is Tough
- 0:29Pigs. He's the director and producer
- 0:31of the live script readings and I'm excited he's here with us.
- 0:33It's Matt Wilkie. Hi, Matt.
- 0:35Hey, Jared. Hey everybody.
- 0:36How are you today? I'm very well excited to see you
- 0:39and excited for our next guest. She's a comedian, actor and
- 0:42improviser who's appeared in shows like Dead to Me and Last
- 0:45Week Tonight and as a fan favorite on drop apps Make Some
- 0:48Noise. She's playing the ghost of
- 0:50Christmas Present in The Muppets Christmas Carol.
- 0:52So let's come in and know her better.
- 0:54Man, It's Giovanni. How are you?
- 0:56Hello. I'm so good.
- 0:59I'm so excited to see you and meet you.
- 1:01It's very strange to see you on my screen and be able to talk
- 1:04back to you. Yeah, hello.
- 1:07Hello, Bunny. I'm glad you said that because I
- 1:11feel like every time I say your name I need you to repeat Bunny,
- 1:14Why? Could you wanna make some noise?
- 1:17I was like hope. I was.
- 1:18I was like, I was like, oh, OK. If you're surprised, if you're
- 1:21like, if it's a new thing to be talking back to me, what would
- 1:23you want to hear? I guess that maybe.
- 1:26You've really, you've made this. You've made this Dropout fan
- 1:28very, very happy. So I'm very excited for the
- 1:33Muppet script. Miss Carol.
- 1:34It's gonna, I'm gonna definitely have this podcast screw that up
- 1:38many, many times. It's such a sweaty title, I
- 1:40know. I did think to myself when I
- 1:43first thought about it, I was like, I wonder how Matt's going
- 1:48to integrate the word script into this one.
- 1:52Yeah, that's that's. What's that process like?
- 1:54Well, it's, it's, it's easier than you think.
- 1:57It's just wherever it feels right.
- 1:59And and I'm a I'm a big fan of the blank check podcast and they
- 2:03always have the really sweaty titles for their mini series
- 2:06that they do. Yeah.
- 2:08So so I took inspiration from that and I was like, let's just
- 2:11put script into all of the the titles So well, I.
- 2:14Mean good luck when you get to The Muppets, The Muppets Most
- 2:17Wanted, because I don't know what you're going to do for
- 2:18that. I'll figure it out.
- 2:22I'm, I'm excited to come along with the journey with you, Matt.
- 2:26This script is obviously a lot different to the others.
- 2:29You know, I, I almost class Muppet Christmas Carol as a
- 2:34drama. I don't see it as a comedy.
- 2:36I see it as a drama. I almost see it as a horror
- 2:39film. I have made that.
- 2:41I have made that argument before.
- 2:43So with this being so much different, I guess to the
- 2:46others, what are you finding to be the differences sort of
- 2:48putting this show together versus the others?
- 2:51Sure, great question. So the, the first thing that's
- 2:54very different is the fact that we always have narrators on
- 2:58stage to do the stage directions and and things like that.
- 3:02But in this movie, we've got narrators on stage and then two
- 3:05characters who are playing narrators who are also
- 3:08narrating. So already the meta levels of it
- 3:12all were a little hard to wrap my head around when I was trying
- 3:15to figure out how to adapt it better for a stage rating like
- 3:18this. But what I found is that with
- 3:23this movie especially, there's such a familiarity with it, with
- 3:27the audience and people who are going to be in it and who are
- 3:30watching it. And they've, this is the one
- 3:32movie, I think even more than the original Muppet movie, that
- 3:35people have seen many, many, many times.
- 3:37So many people have this as an annual tradition.
- 3:40So it kind of made the job of cutting things back easier
- 3:43because I know that people were already have a lot of the scenes
- 3:46and things in their minds. Absolutely.
- 3:50You know, Yeah. Well, you say it's a tradition
- 3:52for a lot of people. Giovanni, what's your sort of
- 3:55personal relationship with this film?
- 3:57Because, you know, was this a childhood favorite or is this
- 4:00something that you'd come to later?
- 4:02This came to me later and I it was the movie that made me fall
- 4:08in love with Rizzo. I never, I never connected with
- 4:12him so much until I saw this movie.
- 4:14Also, I was like, I was just looking through my emails
- 4:16because to be totally honest, I think I misread your e-mail,
- 4:21Matt. I thought I was playing Ghost of
- 4:23Christmas Past and I fully, I fully almost got like a very
- 4:28gauzy white costume and emailed you to ask if somebody could
- 4:33hold a fan in front of me the whole show and fully just read
- 4:36your e-mail way too fast. I was like, I was like, do I?
- 4:42Am I going to music rehearsal? Should I sing so I'm just like,
- 4:48I'm just like re acclimating. I'm really excited to play Ghost
- 4:52of Christmas Present. Well, there we go.
- 4:54I mean, let's process this in real time then.
- 4:56Giovanni, what's, what's going through your head?
- 4:58It's. Exciting this.
- 4:59Is very exciting. Also, you know, feel free to
- 5:02edit it out if that's weird. I'm keeping it all.
- 5:06Oh my gosh, I'm like, OK, this is all so funny because I when I
- 5:11was a kid, my church, which was like a big like Christian mega
- 5:16church, put on a production of Scrooge the musical every
- 5:20Christmas where he like finds Jesus at the end.
- 5:24And I always wanted to be the ghost of Christmas past because
- 5:28she was like the prettiest, like most lovely one and she was a
- 5:31child. So it was like, Oh, this is
- 5:33perfect. But it would never, it always
- 5:34went to like a very talented little girl whose family was
- 5:38like more influential in mine. So I never got Ghost of
- 5:43Christmas Past. And then I auditioned for that
- 5:46Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell movie, for the Ghost of
- 5:49Christmas Past in that movie. And I was like on the phone with
- 5:53my sister earlier and I was like, I'm finally going to play
- 5:56the Ghost of Christmas. Past.
- 6:00Stupid. Say that again.
- 6:02It has been ripped away from you.
- 6:04Wild again, this time by my own not paying attention enough.
- 6:10I'm looking forward to two things.
- 6:12One, I'm looking forward to watching this video back and
- 6:14just seeing your face when I say she's playing Ghost with
- 6:17Christmas present to see wait, what?
- 6:19And two. He's checking Matt's face.
- 6:21I'll be like, wait, oh, Matt's face isn't changing.
- 6:24Oh. And I'm also looking forward to
- 6:27because I believe Anna Garcia is playing gross with Christmas
- 6:29present. Hey, you are the taking Anna
- 6:31down. Sorry.
- 6:33Yeah, you're right. Either taking Anna down or just
- 6:37like mouthing the words behind her as she thinks.
- 6:42I'm only sad that that means we won't have a scene together.
- 6:49I. Love her.
- 6:51Well, I'm all right. Well, there we go.
- 6:54Well then I'll know I'll be available to hold a fan if she
- 6:58wants to wear a gauzy outfit, yes.
- 7:00Yes, well, I mean, what's going through your mind now, Giovanni,
- 7:03costume wise? Because like, you know, I know
- 7:05when you played Rolf, you had like a big dog costume and yeah,
- 7:08you're obviously thinking about this goals and stuff like that.
- 7:11But I guess what's going through your mind now?
- 7:13Let's let's brainstorm some ideas.
- 7:15My immediate idea is like a big robe and like attaching a lot of
- 7:21fake fruit to it. He's got that big like feast
- 7:25upon upon his entrance and I think it would be cool to just
- 7:28be carrying that upon my person. I think that would be a cool
- 7:32draggy look. I love that, yeah.
- 7:36I like it. Well, I would argue.
- 7:38I mean, don't get me wrong, every role in this in this
- 7:41script reading is gonna be great, but I think you've got
- 7:43the good one like. Oh, that's an amazing.
- 7:47Present is an amazing part. I mean, you get to sing probably
- 7:50the best Christmas song that's ever existed.
- 7:53Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, I can't believe this.
- 7:56Sorry. I'm like, I'm like, wow, I'm
- 7:59realizing like all the things I'm going to get to do 'cause
- 8:02I'm already, you know, if I, if, if Matt invites me to do one
- 8:06line in the thing, I'm like, yeah, that sounds amazing.
- 8:09So I'm like, Oh my gosh, this. Is so cool.
- 8:14Wow, this is exciting for This is exciting for me too because I
- 8:17don't usually get to offer people roles in person.
- 8:21It's usually just over e-mail or or people, people like yourself
- 8:24who are so sweet, who are like, I'll do anything, just tell me
- 8:26what I'm doing. But to get to see it on your
- 8:28face is really fun. This is an amazing day and it
- 8:31was already an amazing day. Well, Matt, can you talk a
- 8:36little bit about casting? How do you go about sort of
- 8:39figuring out who's going to be who?
- 8:42Well, it's it's a really fun process.
- 8:45Casting is the most fun process for me.
- 8:47I love thinking about all the friends that I have and all the
- 8:51people I've worked with already and just doing something,
- 8:54something like this is a great example where there is no Ralph
- 8:57in this one. He had, you know, a very
- 9:00diminished role. This one was right after Jim had
- 9:02died, as we all know. And so there's no, there's just
- 9:07a silent appearance from Ralph. And I was like, but I still want
- 9:09to work with Giovanni. So where can we put her?
- 9:12What is the solution here? And when I thought of like
- 9:16somebody who just has so much joy and love, love for their
- 9:20fellow person, love for themselves, love for the spirit
- 9:24of joy and excitement and humor and all of those things, I was
- 9:29like, that's Giovanni to AT. And so yeah, let's get her in
- 9:33there. So casting casting is just so
- 9:35much fun for me. It's it's fun to to like be
- 9:39watching drop out and Grace and I, my wife will will turn to
- 9:43each other and be like, oh, we've got to get that person on
- 9:45one of the meetings. We got to get that person.
- 9:47And so dropout has been one of my biggest pools to draw from.
- 9:52They have such a great talent over there.
- 9:54Yeah. I mean, since day one, I've been
- 9:57sending you like, you should have this person play this role.
- 9:59You should have this person play this role.
- 10:01Yeah, no, I I send you to spam now, yeah.
- 10:03Yeah, that's fine. Oh, I know that's not true, but
- 10:07it still hurt a little bit. So Giovanni, what is it like
- 10:11then where I guess when you get that e-mail sort of, you know,
- 10:15back in the first one, you know, what's your immediate thought
- 10:18when you get asked to come and do one of these script readings?
- 10:20I. Mean one that the the vibe on
- 10:24the that the like being at the show is going to be the most fun
- 10:30ever because Matt is assembling the most talented, sweet,
- 10:34lovely, funny people and like surprise people, famous people,
- 10:40bunch of friends. It's just like, oh, that's going
- 10:42to be 40 of the best people and it's going to be such a blast.
- 10:48And I like the last one that I did the the Manhattan one that
- 10:54would wait. No paper.
- 10:56Yeah, yeah, Nina W like I I've never seen her in a part like
- 11:04that, like in such close proximity.
- 11:07And so like TBH, she like out Piggy, Miss Piggy.
- 11:12I have never seen anything like it.
- 11:14Like I was like she would have stolen Miss Piggies gig.
- 11:18Like like she was so good. And like, she's, she's doing
- 11:22weird physical stuff, like around like through the, all the
- 11:26performers that are on stage. And I'm just like in awe.
- 11:30So I, when I find out that I'm going to be able to do something
- 11:34in one of these, I am excited beyond words for the fun, the,
- 11:40the friendship and the inspiration.
- 11:43Honestly, it's such, it's, it's such an awesome time.
- 11:46I think for the audience too. You can feel everybody's having
- 11:48a blast. Yeah, for sure.
- 11:50It's, it's one of those things I'm like, I'm in Melbourne in
- 11:53Australia. So I, you know, unless someone
- 11:56wants to fork up some cash, I ain't making it to one of these
- 11:58live unfortunately. But like you know, I've said to
- 12:02you before, Matt, what I love about these is it is the vibe of
- 12:08it is just so much fun. Like I sit there and I watch
- 12:11them and I go, I'm having such a good time watching this.
- 12:16And what I think as well is this, it really shines a light
- 12:21on the script itself. Like I have seen something like
- 12:24the Muppet Movie, I have seen 6,000,000 times.
- 12:28But watching it, you know, performed by Nina and by Mark
- 12:34Evan Jackson and Bobby Moynihan or whoever it might be, it takes
- 12:39on a whole different, a whole different.
- 12:42There's a whole different appreciation for it because go
- 12:47on. Yeah, yeah, No, I was, I was
- 12:49just going to say it's, it's in a weird way by putting humans
- 12:53onto the stage and having them say the same thing.
- 12:58There's also this kind of separation that you then take
- 13:03where you're you're taking a set back words and you're saying
- 13:06there are people behind the puppets and there's people who
- 13:10are putting their performance in here.
- 13:12But by seeing it just straight from a human, it almost lets you
- 13:16look at it in a brand new way that a lot of people probably
- 13:20haven't considered before, haven't thought about.
- 13:22There's by having humans, you're seeing the humanity of The
- 13:26Muppets come through a little bit harder.
- 13:28And and I think that's such a wonderful thing that you, you
- 13:32know, even if you know these movies backwards and forwards,
- 13:34you can quote every line. You kind of see a new
- 13:38appreciation when you look at it just as a script and say, well,
- 13:41what's how would Paul left Tompkins to read this line?
- 13:45How would somebody like like Paul, she or Rob, like, how
- 13:48would they read this line that we've all heard said 1000 times
- 13:51before? And how are they going to put
- 13:53this new spin on it? And I love having the the
- 13:57ability to give people that freedom and just just let them
- 13:59play and have fun. So for Someone Like You,
- 14:02Giovanni, I guess, are you? You know what I really like
- 14:07about this, And Nina's almost the exception to the rule, but
- 14:11in the best way possible is none of you are doing impersonations
- 14:16of these characters. Like, yes, see how you might
- 14:18have a dog suit on, But yeah, not.
- 14:20But you're still bringing your own sort of interpretation to,
- 14:23say, Rolf for. Example this is my Rolf.
- 14:25Yeah. So how do you go about, how do
- 14:28you approach that? Are you sort of trying to play
- 14:31the Muppet playing the role, or are you sort of interpreting it
- 14:34from scratch? Well, I'm thinking about like,
- 14:40what makes the ghost of Christmas present now, you know,
- 14:45like what, what lights him up? What's in his core?
- 14:49Like, how does he view his role in like what what he's doing in
- 14:55people's lives. I assume that Ebenezer Scrooge
- 14:58is not the only one. This is now.
- 15:00I'm just like, I'm just talking about my actor process now.
- 15:02So that's where I'm like coming from.
- 15:04And then I want to, I also want to like, I want to delight fans
- 15:08of the movie who are coming into it with, you know, a childhood
- 15:14embrace of this experience. And I want to like meld those
- 15:19two things. My, my own process as an actor,
- 15:21what's going to be fun and true for me and like, you know and
- 15:27respect and and love for, for an audience who's going to who's
- 15:31going to want to feel a, a, a joyous familiarity with, with
- 15:35the performance as well. That's that's how I would come
- 15:38at it. Yeah.
- 15:39Has there been anyone you know when you've been doing these?
- 15:42Anyone who surprised you with their interpretation of a
- 15:44character? Matt, you can also jump in if
- 15:50you have an answer. Matt I.
- 15:53Jog my memories. I have a a fun one, which was so
- 15:57in our, in our, the one we did together, those the great Muppet
- 16:01caper Angela Giratana was in the show and I didn't know until we
- 16:07were like preparing for the show that she had never seen The
- 16:11Muppets growing up. She didn't she just didn't grow
- 16:13up with The Muppets. So she didn't really have a real
- 16:14framework for it. And so she didn't, I don't think
- 16:20she watched the movie before she did the show and.
- 16:22No, I'm sure she did it. Yeah, I'm certain she didn't.
- 16:25And that was great because it gave her like this whole new
- 16:28like, like Rizzo was almost like, like a Ratatouille
- 16:32character. Yeah, Rizzo was.
- 16:34Wild. It was and then and then I'm.
- 16:37Thinking of the Colombo guy. The Colombo's The Peter Falk
- 16:40scene. Was Peter Falk.
- 16:41Yeah, Peter Fall. It was so it was so funny
- 16:44because like, I I had never seen the muck bit caper before that
- 16:50show. I watched it for it and I was
- 16:53like, I was like, oh, what a funny like monologue that it's
- 16:56long. And Angela started doing it and
- 17:00it was I, I, I could be remembering wrong, but like it
- 17:03was kind of spot on at 1st and then she lost, she like lost
- 17:07confidence when she's realized how long it was and like it
- 17:10changed into something else, which was so funny.
- 17:14But it's just like, whatever, whatever happens, it's so like
- 17:18at the at the heart of it, you have really funny, funny, fun
- 17:22people. So it's like, I love whatever's
- 17:24happening here. It's lyric.
- 17:25Exactly, exactly. I love she just she takes this
- 17:28beat before she starts. She goes OK.
- 17:32And it was so funny. And like everybody in the
- 17:35audience knew that that monologue was coming too.
- 17:38If you're a fan of the. So they were like, we get why
- 17:40she's getting ready now. I remember watching it and you
- 17:43could just see she's highlighted their lines and it was like a
- 17:46full page of justice. The full the whole page.
- 17:48Just the whole page was yellow. You know, Angela was wild
- 17:54watching that. There was a couple of times
- 17:55during Rizom like this is, I don't know what she's doing, but
- 17:59I love it. It was crazy.
- 18:03Matt, how do you go about, I guess, choosing your own roles
- 18:05because you take a couple of little positions here and there,
- 18:08You know, how do you go about doing that?
- 18:11So it's usually just for the sake of stage space.
- 18:14It's I'm, I'm, you know, I do it for performance background and
- 18:17I, I'm an improviser and a comedian and all of those fun
- 18:20things. But this is usually more about
- 18:24I've taken the producer role in these shows and I'm trying to
- 18:27highlight these actors and give them the, the medias of meaty
- 18:29things. So a lot of times it's just I'm
- 18:32filling in where it's like a one line or one scene character.
- 18:37I don't have anybody else that I can fill it in with because
- 18:40there's other people in the scene and I just kind of need to
- 18:42jump in. That being said, though, I have
- 18:44given myself unintentionally by the three movies we've done now,
- 18:49I've given myself a part that takes place on a plane, a train
- 18:55and an automobile. So I was thinking of that.
- 19:00I was thinking during this Thanksgiving season, I was
- 19:02thinking about that movie. Funny.
- 19:06What can you tell us? Maybe a little role you'll be
- 19:09playing here. Yes, I will probably be selling
- 19:17some vegetables during the show. Cute.
- 19:21Great. Are there any?
- 19:23Are there any Muppet moments that take place on a boat?
- 19:26I know that like we've got the nice John Candy title there, but
- 19:29just so we get more vehicles. I mean, think you're tired of
- 19:33Muppet Treasure Island? Oh, great.
- 19:35OK. I'm thinking, oh, wonder if
- 19:38there is that. The whole film is just that.
- 19:40OK, cool. I'll have to I'll have to do
- 19:43like a one line pirate or something to good.
- 19:45Good, yeah. Every vessel I can think of.
- 19:50Giovanni just this is as a dropout fan, I asked this
- 19:53question. You know you're one of my
- 19:54favourites. I'll make some noise a couple of
- 19:57like I have quoted your Stone chef reading it making up
- 20:01specials from a few weeks ago. One of the funniest things I've
- 20:04ever seen. I showed my partner recently the
- 20:08one of. You know, the celebrant who's
- 20:12definitely hooked up with the couple, she just lost her mind.
- 20:16She loved it. Thank you so much.
- 20:18So you're genuine of my favourites.
- 20:21You know, if you have to pick two Muppets to stand next to you
- 20:23on that stage and get prompts from Sam, who are they going to
- 20:26be? That's a great.
- 20:28Question. Oh my gosh, who do I want to be
- 20:29on make some noise with from The Muppets?
- 20:32Oh my gosh. OK, I would get upstaged by Miss
- 20:36Piggy, but I would I would, I would still I would still like
- 20:41it would still be so worth it. Even if she's steamrolling
- 20:44everyone and and I'm going to go, I think I'm going to go
- 20:52gonzo. I'm like, I'm feeling a lot of I
- 20:55will just like I want to get it right.
- 20:56But I do like, I think gonzo for balance.
- 20:58And this is me, just like casting in a way that I'm like,
- 21:01OK, OK. I think the three of us together
- 21:03would be really good. That'd be an all timer.
- 21:08That would be, I think it would be the equivalent of like, it
- 21:12would kind of be like me, Lisa Gilroy, and who's like, who's
- 21:19the dropout Gonzo, maybe like Lou.
- 21:24Oh yeah, he said. Lou.
- 21:26And that would be like that would be a good team.
- 21:29That would be. I would watch that.
- 21:30Well, sort of, you know, I watch Dropout and I think, you know,
- 21:33Sam has basically made the Muppet Show.
- 21:35Like he's just, he's got this, he's got this absolutely empire
- 21:39and he's just hiring all these friends to have fun and be fun.
- 21:42You know, in that sort of scenario, I guess, which Muppet
- 21:45do you feel like you would identify with in that sort of
- 21:49umbrella? I do agree with the, with the
- 21:54Dropout being a, a Muppets ensemble, which I absolutely
- 21:57love. I think, I mean, I have Muppets
- 22:03that I love, but I, I, I don't know.
- 22:08I don't know if I can think of one that feels like it's exactly
- 22:11me. I feel like I feel kind of
- 22:13closest to Elmo. Yeah, I feel a bit.
- 22:16I feel a bit Elmo, honestly. And do you know what?
- 22:21I have interviewed Elmo multiple times and I'm having just as
- 22:24much fun interviewing you so. I'm really, I'm really going to
- 22:29have like go to sleep with a smile.
- 22:36You know, as we sort of begin to wrap up, Giovanni, what are your
- 22:41holiday traditions? We're coming into the holiday
- 22:43season. You know, to put a timestamp on
- 22:45this, we're recording this the day before Thanksgiving.
- 22:48What are your what is your month look like as you're late after
- 22:50the holidays? I'm going to go to San Diego
- 22:54tomorrow for Thanksgiving, where my family is.
- 22:58My family does a lot of interesting things.
- 23:02This is a big Filipino family and there will be probably like
- 23:0780 to 100 people at at the gathering.
- 23:13One thing I really love is everybody will bring their empty
- 23:17Amazon boxes and other like boxes from over the course of
- 23:21the year. And we build these huge
- 23:23structures out of the empty boxes and take turns hurling
- 23:28ourselves into them. Sometimes children that you
- 23:31know, kids love getting thrown into stuff and just knock over
- 23:35the box, the tower boxes, the towers of boxes and then rebuild
- 23:40them and that's always a good time.
- 23:44God I love. Weird family commissions.
- 23:46I love it. What do you have on Christmas?
- 23:49We have. We have a drinking contest at
- 23:51Christmas. My family.
- 23:53There is a plaque, I have won it.
- 23:56It has my name engraved on it. You have it for a year and then
- 23:59it gets passed to the next person.
- 24:01What What did you like? What was the quantity and what
- 24:03was the do? You know what it's Do you know
- 24:05what a Jager bomb is? Yes, yeah.
- 24:08Jager bomb, Jager bombs and we we all line up, there's round
- 24:12Robins, you line up and then in the end it gets to two people
- 24:15and by the end you have like when the time I won, I think I
- 24:18had 6 and I was, I was gone. That was it.
- 24:22But I won. Gosh.
- 24:25Was there still? Stuff you had to.
- 24:26Do like was was there still like more more hanging out, like more
- 24:31holidays? This is at like 4:00 in the
- 24:33afternoon and that day usually ends like midnight.
- 24:36Oh my gosh. Yeah, yeah, it's it's chaotic,
- 24:40but it's good fun. My family makes cookies.
- 24:45Boring cookies are. You an are you?
- 24:50Are you an oatmeal Raisin family?
- 24:52Are you white chocolate macadamia?
- 24:54No, we're, we're, we're chocolate chip.
- 24:56Chocolate chip. Yeah.
- 24:57Cute. Yeah, we do that.
- 24:59And we do, we do snickerdoodles and we do like those ones where
- 25:04it's like the little sugar cookie and then you push the
- 25:06Hershey's kiss into the middle. Classic.
- 25:09Well, it's like new classic. Yeah, yeah.
- 25:12Lovely. Any other traditions, Matt?
- 25:16Anything weird? You don't.
- 25:17You don't throw people into cardboard or get hammered.
- 25:20Little throwing in in. In the Wilkie family.
- 25:24Fair enough Matt, you always, we always like to support a charity
- 25:29with your script readings. What?
- 25:31Who will we be supporting for this one?
- 25:33We do, yes. So for this performance, we're
- 25:36going to be supporting a wonderful foundation called One
- 25:39Simple Wish. I'm going to just read a little
- 25:42bit 'cause I think it's so important.
- 25:43One Simple Wish works to amplify the voices of individuals
- 25:47affected by foster care and foster crises.
- 25:51So they have a website where you can go to and you can fulfill
- 25:57wishes. So often these are very small
- 26:01things that kids are looking for.
- 26:03It's a very great charity to support around the holidays.
- 26:07Of course, the wishes that people are asking for go up
- 26:10around this time, but what's great about what we're doing is
- 26:14the way that we're kind of processing everything is that
- 26:17our support will go to them probably in January, and that's
- 26:23when donations are down a little bit for a lot of organizations.
- 26:27So by doing this, we're bringing awareness to one simple wish now
- 26:32so that you can donate either for yourself or it's a great
- 26:35gift that you can give to somebody this holiday season.
- 26:38You can go to their website, 1simplewish.org and check it
- 26:41out, or what we'll also be doing is donating afterwards.
- 26:45So we give them that little bit of boost.
- 26:47It's kind of like A2 tiered approach to get them a lot of
- 26:50wishes granted. Beautiful.
- 26:53How can people watch the show? So the show will be live at the
- 26:58Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles on December 20th at 6:30
- 27:03PMI did find out however, that we are sold out for in person
- 27:07already, which is great. Wonderful.
- 27:10OK, so we will be able to watch our live stream at
- 27:16dynastytypewriter.com. Dynasty.tv will also have some
- 27:20of the information and yeah, you can check it out from there.
- 27:24I am very, very excited. I have had an absolute blast
- 27:28this last half an hour. Matt.
- 27:29We'll see you again for the rest of days.
- 27:31But Giovanni, I, I, I love you even more now.
- 27:34Thanks. This has been a genuine
- 27:38pleasure. Absolutely.
- 27:42And I'm so excited to play Ghost of Christmas Present.
