• 0:00
SPEAKER_00: Most people go through life assuming the system is on their side, that the rules will stay the same and following the script will be enough.
• 0:07
  SPEAKER_00: History says otherwise.
• 0:09
SPEAKER_00: Every major shock of the last century, from wars and currency collapses to capital controls and asset seizures, punished the same group hardest.
• 0:19
  SPEAKER_00: People with no alternatives.
• 0:21
SPEAKER_00: A sovereign individual is someone who refuses to be trapped by a single system.
• 0:26
SPEAKER_00: Someone who understands that freedom is fragile, that governments act in their own interests, and that optionality is the ultimate form of insurance.
• 0:35
SPEAKER_00: These are 28 rules for building that kind of life.
• 0:38
SPEAKER_00: You do not need to follow all of them today.
• 0:41
SPEAKER_00: But ignoring them entirely comes at a cost.
• 0:44
  SPEAKER_00: Events banner.
• 0:46
  SPEAKER_00: 1.
• 0:47
SPEAKER_00: Never give one country a monopoly over you.
• 0:50
SPEAKER_00: If you hold just one citizenship in one residency, a single government controls your mobility, your tax obligations, and your access to banking.
• 0:59
SPEAKER_00: Monopolies produce the same result everywhere.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_00: Lower quality service on worse terms.
• 1:04
SPEAKER_00: You would not give one company a monopoly over your business.
• 1:08
SPEAKER_00: Do not give one country a monopoly over your life.
• 1:11
SPEAKER_00: Start shifting the leverage away from the state and toward yourself.
• 1:15
  SPEAKER_00: 2.
• 1:16
SPEAKER_00: Never assume where you are from is where you belong.
• 1:20
SPEAKER_00: There are roughly 200 countries and millions of cities on this planet.
• 1:24
SPEAKER_00: You were born in one of them.
• 1:25
SPEAKER_00: The odds that, out of all those options, your birthplace is the optimal place for your family, your finances, and your freedom are slim.
• 1:34
SPEAKER_00: If you love where you are from, good.
• 1:37
SPEAKER_00: Just make sure your roots do not become chains.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_00: You can be the first in your lineage to consciously choose where your family will be from going forward.
• 1:46
  SPEAKER_00: 3.
• 1:47
SPEAKER_00: Never pay more tax than legally required.
• 1:50
SPEAKER_00: This is not a philosophical point.
• 1:52
SPEAKER_00: It is a practical one.
• 1:54
SPEAKER_00: At least 13 preferential tax regimes across eight European countries allow you to pay single-digit effective tax rates while living in otherwise high tax nations.
• 2:04
SPEAKER_00: Territorial tax systems in the Caribbean and parts of Central America can reduce your burden even further.
• 2:10
SPEAKER_00: These are legal structures designed by governments themselves to attract mobile residents.
• 2:15
SPEAKER_00: Using them is not avoidance.
• 2:17
SPEAKER_00: It is compliance with favorable rules.
• 2:20
SPEAKER_00: Four, never leave yourself open to military conscription.
• 2:24
SPEAKER_00: Fighting to defend your family and your values is one thing.
• 2:28
SPEAKER_00: Being forced to fight on behalf of a government that does not have your interests at heart is another.
• 2:33
SPEAKER_00: Exit bans tied to military service have trapped citizens in Ukraine, Myanmar, and elsewhere.
• 2:39
SPEAKER_00: A second citizenship or an established residency abroad is the most reliable way to keep this option in your hands, not the states.
• 2:47
  SPEAKER_00: 5.
• 2:48
SPEAKER_00: Never rely on the government for protection.
• 2:51
SPEAKER_00: Governments are slow to respond, bureaucratic in execution, and often the source of the threat itself.
• 2:58
SPEAKER_00: Kuwait has stripped citizenship from more than 50,000 people since August 2024 in an unprecedented nationality review campaign.
• 3:06
  SPEAKER_00: These were not criminals.
• 3:08
SPEAKER_00: Many were women who had been citizens for decades.
• 3:12
SPEAKER_00: The lesson is that relying on a single government for your security is a single point of failure.
• 3:17
  SPEAKER_00: 6.
• 3:18
SPEAKER_00: Never assume your country wants what is best for you.
• 3:22
SPEAKER_00: Politicians respond to incentives, not affection.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_00: They care about you to the extent that you provide tax revenue and votes.
• 3:30
  SPEAKER_00: A proposed bill in the U.S.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_00: Senate would force all dual citizens to choose one nationality or lose their American passport.
• 3:37
  SPEAKER_00: It may not pass.
• 3:38
SPEAKER_00: But the fact that a sitting senator introduced it tells you something about how states view citizens who build optionality.
• 3:45
  SPEAKER_00: 7.
• 3:46
SPEAKER_00: Never keep all your assets in one country.
• 3:49
SPEAKER_00: A single jurisdiction can freeze your accounts, seize your property, or change the rules overnight.

• 4:09
SPEAKER_00: Eight, never keep all your homes in one country.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_00: A qualifying property investment in a golden visa country is not just a financial asset, it is an emergency landing pad.

SPEAKER_00: Sovereign individuals maintain alternate homes they can reach on short notice, whether the trigger is a war, a natural disaster, a pandemic, or government overreach.
• 4:30
SPEAKER_00: Spreading your property across multiple jurisdictions turns real estate from a static investment into a mobility tool.

• 4:55
SPEAKER_00: Capital controls can appear without warning.
• 4:58
SPEAKER_00: Keep bank accounts in multiple countries, and ideally across different geopolitical blocks, so that if one power structure deems you unworthy of banking, your financial life continues.
• 5:09
  SPEAKER_00: 10.
• 5:10
SPEAKER_00: Never expose all your money to a single currency.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_00: Practically every fiat currency in history has eventually gone to zero.
• 5:18
SPEAKER_00: You cannot eliminate fiat exposure entirely, but you can spread it across multiple currencies.
• 5:24
SPEAKER_00: Pair that with non-fiat stores of value, and you reduce your vulnerability to any single central bank's decisions.
• 5:32
  SPEAKER_00: 11.

SPEAKER_00: If your income depends on a physical presence in one jurisdiction, you are anchored there whether you like it or not.

SPEAKER_00: Location independent revenue from remote businesses, dividends, rental properties, or digital products is the engine of personal sovereignty.
• 8:55

• 9:25
SPEAKER_00: Always assume governments will become more restrictive.
• 9:28
SPEAKER_00: A common trajectory throughout history.
• 9:31
SPEAKER_00: Countries with a lot of freedom become wealthy.
• 9:34
SPEAKER_00: That wealth attracts an extractive state apparatus.
• 9:37
SPEAKER_00: The state grows until it suffocates the wealth from which it drew its power.
• 9:42
SPEAKER_00: Then it collapses and a freer system replaces it.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_00: Then the cycle starts again.
• 9:48
SPEAKER_00: Recognize which part of the cycle you are in right now and plan accordingly.
• 9:53
  SPEAKER_00: 21.
• 9:55
SPEAKER_00: Always assume a residency or citizenship will be harder to get later.

• 10:58
  SPEAKER_00: 23.
• 11:00
SPEAKER_00: Always own assets that cannot be seized.
• 11:03
SPEAKER_00: Asset seizure does not only happen to international criminals, it happens to regular people.
• 11:09
SPEAKER_00: Canadian truckers who protested COVID restrictions, Venezuelan business owners during the Chavez era, dentists who face malpractice claims.
• 11:18
SPEAKER_00: Protect yourself with trusts, foundations, and seizure-resistant assets.
• 11:23
SPEAKER_00: The original five flag theory prescribed splitting your citizenship, residency, business, banking, and lifestyle across different countries for exactly this reason.
• 11:33
  SPEAKER_00: The principle still holds.
• 11:35

• 11:42
  SPEAKER_00: 24.
• 11:43
SPEAKER_00: Always be prepared to defend yourself physically and legally.
• 11:47
SPEAKER_00: You do not need a black belt or a law degree.
• 11:50
SPEAKER_00: But you should establish relationships with competent legal counsel in the countries where you spend the most time.
• 11:56
SPEAKER_00: Six months of training in a martial art puts you ahead of the vast majority of the population.
• 12:01
SPEAKER_00: In a world where legal and physical threats can emerge anywhere, preparation is not optional.
• 12:07
  SPEAKER_00: 25.
• 12:09
  SPEAKER_00: Always stay physically fit.
• 12:11
SPEAKER_00: Weak or sick people cannot be free.
• 12:14
SPEAKER_00: You can have the most bulletproof corporate and tax structures in the world, but none of it matters if you cannot get out of bed.
• 12:21
SPEAKER_00: You cannot escape, rebuild, or adapt if your body fails you.
• 12:26
SPEAKER_00: Physical resilience underpins every other form of sovereignty.
• 12:29
  SPEAKER_00: 26.
• 12:30
SPEAKER_00: Always think three steps ahead.
• 12:33
SPEAKER_00: Pay attention to the geopolitical horizon, demographic shifts, debt crises, emerging authoritarianism, and collapsing entitlement systems.
• 12:42
SPEAKER_00: The earlier you see patterns, the less you suffer their consequences.
• 12:46
SPEAKER_00: Processing times for citizenship by investment programs range from a few months for Caribbean programs to well over a year for a European Golden Visa residence permit, with citizenship eligibility beginning years after that.

• 13:02
  SPEAKER_00: 27.
• 13:03
SPEAKER_00: Always keep a portion of your wealth outside of banks and off exchanges.
• 13:07
SPEAKER_00: Bank accounts can be frozen.
• 13:09
  SPEAKER_00: Exchanges can be hacked.
• 13:11
SPEAKER_00: If every cent you own depends on the security measures of a third party or on remaining in good standing with bureaucrats, you are not sovereign.
• 13:20
SPEAKER_00: Hold some assets privately, offline, and under your direct control.
• 13:26
  SPEAKER_00: 28.
• 13:27
SPEAKER_00: Always build a globally distributed circle of kindred spirits.
• 13:31
SPEAKER_00: This may seem like a soft recommendation.
• 13:34
SPEAKER_00: It is arguably the most important rule on this list.
• 13:37
SPEAKER_00: Freedom is lonely without allies.
• 13:39
SPEAKER_00: Build relationships with people who share your mindset across continents.
• 13:44

• 13:52
SPEAKER_00: When systems collapse, community becomes currency.
• 13:56
SPEAKER_00: These 28 rules are not radical.
• 13:59
SPEAKER_00: They are rational responses to a world in which states grow stronger and individuals grow weaker.
• 14:04
SPEAKER_00: You do not need to follow all of them today.
• 14:07
SPEAKER_00: But the distance between knowing you should have a second passport and actually holding one is measured in years of processing time, rising investment thresholds, and closing program windows.
• 14:17
SPEAKER_00: You can explore over 250 residency and citizenship programs using IMI's Program Finder, calculate where you stand with IMI's sovereign score, or contact a vetted professional through IMI's Find a Pro directory to start building your plan.
