  Speaker 1: that.
• 1:28
Speaker 4: All right, Mr Mars, who do we have?
• 1:29
Speaker 4: This is Clement Prevost.
• 1:31
  Speaker 2: That's correct.
• 1:32
Speaker 4: Yes, yes, yes, say that.
• 1:33
Speaker 1: Wait a minute, his first name is Clement.
• 1:35
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:36
  Speaker 4: C-L-E-M-O-M.
• 1:37
  Speaker 2: That's Clementine.
• 1:38
Speaker 2: That's right, put a C in front of Lemon.
• 1:41
Speaker 4: See, he's got it.
• 1:42
Speaker 4: That would be an orange.
• 1:44
Speaker 4: You got to be simple and your last name again Prevost, like the big Prevost bus.
• 1:48
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you started that company.
• 1:52
Speaker 2: Well, I'm still looking for royalties, royalties.
• 1:55
  Speaker 3: Keep looking.
• 1:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, you just like we are.
• 2:02
Speaker 1: You know we are known around the world.
• 2:04
Speaker 1: Will that get us Absolutely nothing.
• 2:08
Speaker 3: Say it again Absolutely nothing.
• 2:13
Speaker 2: You have a car here?
• 2:14
  Speaker 2: No, I don't.
• 2:15
Speaker 2: I found out about this late, late yesterday.
• 2:19
Speaker 2: What, yes, I did?
• 2:21
Speaker 1: Are you a Galvestonian?
• 2:22
Speaker 2: But I was here early this morning.
• 2:23
Speaker 2: I see, yes, no, I'm born and raised in Texas City, texas, which is about 15 miles.
• 2:30
Speaker 1: Yeah, we know where Texas City is.
• 2:31
  Speaker 2: I'm so old.
• 2:32
Speaker 2: I was born in a house, Okay.
• 2:34
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 2:36
Speaker 2: They come in, they deliver the baby, they slap him on the behind, he cry and they leave.
• 2:39
Speaker 2: So I end up getting my birth certificate at about 55 years old.
• 2:42
Speaker 2: Oh really, seriously, yeah, I'm a little old.
• 2:45
Speaker 2: And the reason I got it, I say wait a minute, I'm about ready to retire, I want my social security, let me get me a birth certificate.
• 2:51
Speaker 2: So, the only proof that I had is that I paid taxes my whole life.
• 2:58
Speaker 2: Of course you got me.
• 3:01
Speaker 1: So you had a social security number.
• 3:03
Speaker 1: I had a social security number.
• 3:04
Speaker 1: How do you get a social security number if you don't have a birth certificate?
• 3:08
Speaker 2: I was the infinite at that time, I don't know Well.
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: I know.
• 3:14
Speaker 2: But you see what I'm saying?
• 3:15
Speaker 2: No, but you're right, but as you, grow up, you're alive, Okay back in the old days.
• 3:19
  Speaker 2: I'm 68.
• 3:20
Speaker 2: So back in the old days, yes, you beat.
• 3:22
Speaker 2: Yeah, back in the old days my dad named nickname was Frenchy, so when I got ready to go to school, let him in as Frenchy son.
• 3:31
Speaker 2: You didn't show nothing.
• 3:32
Speaker 2: Well, of course not, yeah, that was back in 62.
• 3:35
  Speaker 2: 62.
• 3:35
  Speaker 2: Yeah, they weren't.
• 3:38
Speaker 2: You know, you don't have to show anything.
• 3:39
Speaker 2: I know, and I never thought, and I never had to have it to get any job or nothing Right.
• 3:45
Speaker 2: So once you got the first thing, I really didn't think about it till I retired and I said wait a minute, I got to show proof that I'm going to be 62 or 66 when I get my social security.
• 3:54
Speaker 2: So how I know this is a Corvette show, but I am absolutely fascinated by the story.
• 3:59
Speaker 1: Hey, I went through.
• 4:01
Speaker 2: I went through the.
• 4:02
Speaker 1: You went through a hell and back.
• 4:03
  Speaker 2: Biosystic or somebody.
• 4:04
Speaker 2: Somebody told me to go to right.
• 4:05
Speaker 2: And the lady say what proof you have.
• 4:09
Speaker 2: I say well, I'm Frenchy Son.
• 4:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, and I got, and I got christening papers.
• 4:13
Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
• 4:14
Speaker 2: Well, where are they?
• 4:15
  Speaker 2: In Louisiana.
• 4:16
Speaker 2: So I submit, I get those and my brother name is Carl Wayne prevoce and I'm Clement prevoce and it came in as Clement Wayne prevoce or something like it was mixed up.
• 4:28
Speaker 2: So now I'm looking like a fraud, right, right.
• 4:31
Speaker 2: And so I say, well, okay, let me find some more papers.
• 4:36
Speaker 2: So I found some more papers that would have my mother name on it, which is Susan prevoce.
• 4:40
Speaker 2: It came back Elizabeth prevoce.
• 4:42
Speaker 2: Oh, wow, so two strikes you out.
• 4:44
Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
• 4:45
Speaker 2: And so and so, and keep in mind, at this time all my brothers, sisters, mom and dad were living and I still couldn't prove it.
• 4:55
Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
• 4:56
Speaker 2: So, wow, um, we finally found some papers.
• 4:59
Speaker 2: We finally found where I was baptized, in a Baptist church, because my daddy was baptized, my mother was Catholic, so I did the christening baby for Catholic and I got baptized, and then they took that.
• 5:11
Speaker 2: And then they said, uh, we're really not supposed to do this, but we're going to go ahead on and give you your birth, you know, give you your certificate.
• 5:19
Speaker 2: And I say, well, while you edit, can I get a passport too, and so that's the rest is history.
• 5:25
Speaker 1: My Lord go for broke.
• 5:26
Speaker 1: So how long did that process take you?
• 5:29
Speaker 2: Oh, about, uh, and actually, uh, what sealed the deal is.
• 5:33
Speaker 2: I had to bring my oldest brother and then he had to sign some papers that's one level higher than a notary, and so that that kind of got the ball moving.
• 5:43
Speaker 2: But uh but no, this lasted about nine months.
• 5:49
Speaker 1: That is so weird, because you know you would, you would think that that would be in my generation, that that would happen, because I mean even in my generation, of course.
• 5:59
Speaker 1: I was born in a hospital which is a whole, that whole different thing.
• 6:04
Speaker 1: But you wouldn't think that it would take till the 1960s for you to have to find a birth certificate and go through all of this, because you know, like you said, mom just took me to school.
• 6:16
Speaker 1: I don't even remember mom registering me, we just go to school and show up and back then, you know, uh, the doctors was making house calls, that's right.
• 6:26
Speaker 4: The milk man was putting the milk on the on, the on with you, you know the things was just totally different.
• 6:30
Speaker 4: Right, and what makes it even more interesting is is what we were going to talk to him about is he has an LS powered Porsche.
• 6:39
Speaker 3: Oh, that's a picture you showed me my poor parents.
• 6:43
Speaker 2: I'm gonna ask, okay, argue.
• 6:45
Speaker 2: I'm gonna say, arguably, argue, but Lee, okay.
• 6:48
Speaker 2: But I truly know that I'm the first in the world to ever take a LS engine and put it in something other than what it came out of.
• 6:56
Speaker 2: Don't ever tell anybody that owns a Porsche.
• 6:59
Speaker 2: I did it because I did.
• 7:00
Speaker 2: Oh no, they do me like that.
• 7:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay until they race me.
• 7:04
Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and then all of a sudden it's yeah.
• 7:07
Speaker 2: Like a right now sitting at the house at 1350 horsepower would turn down.
• 7:11
  Speaker 2: Ah, because it's D2.
• 7:15
Speaker 1: If you got a blower on it twin turbos.
• 7:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, the motor is built for 2200 horsepower.
• 7:20
Speaker 2: It's a ERL motor, like a guy like myself.
• 7:25
Speaker 3: So did you just get up on a day and say you know what?
• 7:27
Speaker 3: I would have put an LS in off.
• 7:29
Speaker 2: Okay, now he's gonna make me tell the whole story.
• 7:32
Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, we got a couple of minutes.
• 7:34
Speaker 2: Okay, when I was young, okay, I was a track star.
• 7:39
Speaker 2: Okay, went to college on a full track scholarship, all that kind of good stuff, right, where'd you go to college?
• 7:46
Speaker 2: I got my two year degree at a local college, college of Mainland, right here in Texas City.
• 7:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, then things didn't go right in high school, so I didn't get any scholarships.
• 8:01
Speaker 2: They was like how do you hold two high school records that you broke 42 years and you don't get a scholarship offer?
• 8:09
Speaker 2: Well, that happened to me.
• 8:12
Speaker 2: So when I came on to college community college, college of Mainland I was like a celebrity because I was in a paper every week, right, because I broke records, right.
• 8:21
Speaker 2: And so I didn't last 10 minutes on the college campus.
• 8:24
Speaker 2: So the college president summoned me to the office, to his office.
• 8:28
Speaker 2: Young man, what you doing on this campus, coming here to go to college?
• 8:32
Speaker 2: You was in the paper every week, all those records you broke.
• 8:36
Speaker 2: You didn't get a scholarship offer.
• 8:37
Speaker 2: I don't know what happened, but I'm here.
• 8:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, he summoned the coach.
• 8:43
Speaker 2: He said take his measurements, take my measurements.
• 8:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, take his measurements, we're going to start a one man track team with him.
• 8:51
Speaker 2: And so I went on a full track scholarship at a college that never had a track team.
• 8:55
Speaker 2: And so they gave me $50 in my pocket station wagon full of gas and say put this college of the Mainland logo on the side of this station wagon and represent us well.
• 9:07
Speaker 2: And then, because of the legality of it, that I didn't know.
• 9:10
  Speaker 2: I'm an 18 year old guy, I'm an 18.
• 9:13
Speaker 2: Next thing, I know I got the basketball coach ride with me because it's liability.
• 9:18
Speaker 2: They couldn't let an 18 year old loose with the college station wagon.
• 9:22
Speaker 1: Oh my God, you got me, so tear it up.
• 9:24
Speaker 2: He kicked back and sleep and then say wake me up when we get there.
• 9:27
Speaker 1: You know, what I mean.
• 9:28
Speaker 2: We're making a long story short.
• 9:29
Speaker 2: I ended up getting a full track scholarship at Lamar University.
• 9:32
Speaker 2: Oh, in Beaumont, in Beaumont, okay.
• 9:34
Speaker 2: So I went to a little job fair.
• 9:37
  Speaker 2: I'm standing up.
• 9:38
Speaker 2: Everybody else is playing for jobs, I'm not.
• 9:40
Speaker 2: Because I just got there Right and a guy walked up to me, say why aren't you applying?
• 9:49
Speaker 2: I say, well, I just got to the college, I'm new and I'm an industrial engineering.
• 9:55
Speaker 2: Right now I'm going to major in electrical engineering.
• 9:58
Speaker 2: I got a 2 degree that I brought here, so I got quite a few college hours.
• 10:02
Speaker 2: I got a good head start.
• 10:04
Speaker 2: He said well, if you leave right now, I'll pay you double what engineers make.
• 10:08
Speaker 2: The rest is history.
• 10:10
Speaker 2: They never seen me again, okay.
• 10:12
Speaker 3: And that's what inspired you to put the motor in the Porsche.
• 10:15
Speaker 2: No, I'm sure I'm showing you where I got the money from.
• 10:18
Speaker 2: Oh, okay, so I bought my first car vet, which I still have, a 1970 at home.
• 10:22
Speaker 2: Okay, and I got in trouble with the law racing.
• 10:26
Speaker 2: So they say you get one more.
• 10:30
Speaker 2: Tick, I had two of tickets in three months.
• 10:32
Speaker 2: They said if you get one more ticket, we're taking a license plate.
• 10:35
Speaker 2: So for every car you drive, and the license out of your pocket.
• 10:40
  Speaker 2: Well, I can't, I can't let you do that.
• 10:41
Speaker 2: I work in Baytown, I live in Texas City, right.
• 10:43
Speaker 2: So I parked the car vet and I bought a Porsche 911.
• 10:48
Speaker 2: I love the way the 911 handle and I love the power of the car that had.
• 10:53
Speaker 2: And I said one of these days I'm going to combine the two.
• 10:56
Speaker 2: And that's what brought on.
• 10:59
Speaker 2: When GM announced that the LS was the lightest engine ever made in their history, I looked at my wife.
• 11:06
  Speaker 2: I say that's the one.
• 11:08
Speaker 2: And then I hope this is honest to go true.
• 11:12
Speaker 2: I went to bed.
• 11:13
Speaker 2: I woke up and I told my wife.
• 11:15
Speaker 2: I say I got it, I'm going to do it.
• 11:18
Speaker 2: I dreamed how to do it.
• 11:19
Speaker 2: I went to Dale Mar Stadium.
• 11:22
Speaker 2: They had a swap meet in 1998.
• 11:24
Speaker 2: Guy flipped his car vet and had the mode on the engine stand.
• 11:28
Speaker 2: I walked up to it.
• 11:29
Speaker 2: Naturally I don't know what that is.
• 11:30
Speaker 2: They got a plastic intake.
• 11:32
Speaker 2: We go to school.
• 11:34
Speaker 2: What kind of mode is that?
• 11:36
Speaker 2: He says it's a car vet.
• 11:37
Speaker 2: I wrecked my car, towed it out and I'm selling the motor.
• 11:41
Speaker 2: I said how much you want for it?
• 11:42
Speaker 2: He said how much you give me for it.
• 11:43
  Speaker 2: I said 2,500.
• 11:45
Speaker 2: He said you don't know what you're looking at.
• 11:47
Speaker 2: I said no man, I'm sorry if I insulted you, but I really don't know what I'm looking at.
• 11:51
Speaker 2: He said that's the state of the art LS motor.
• 11:53
Speaker 2: I said that's the one that GM said the lightest motor made.
• 11:56
  Speaker 2: He said yeah.
• 11:57
Speaker 2: He said young man, I tell you what he said.
• 11:59
  Speaker 2: Right now it's nine o'clock.
• 12:01
Speaker 2: If this motor is here two o'clock is yours for 2,500.
• 12:05
  Speaker 2: I said okay.
• 12:06
  Speaker 2: I went back.
• 12:07
  Speaker 2: Two o'clock, motor's still there.
• 12:08
  Speaker 2: I just found a stranger.
• 12:10
Speaker 2: Hey man, get on the other end of this motor and help me put it back in his truck.
• 12:13
Speaker 2: 91 days later, I'm driving out of the garage with it in the back of my Porsche 911.
• 12:19
Speaker 1: What a great story.
• 12:21
Speaker 2: When GM said you're not going to be able to start it because the engine computer got to talk to the body computer, I say well, the bad news is I'm electronic technician.
• 12:31
Speaker 2: I crack your code for $12.
• 12:34
Speaker 2: Boom, I love that.
• 12:35
Speaker 2: So, to add insult to injury, not only did I put it in a Porsche 911, I put in a Porsche 914 too.
• 12:44
  Speaker 2: Oh my.
• 12:46
  Speaker 3: God.
• 12:46
Speaker 2: And they both are at the house.
• 12:47
Speaker 2: You can see it on my website.
• 12:49
  Speaker 3: Yeah, wow.
• 12:50
  Speaker 2: What is?
• 12:50
Speaker 2: Your website toy-jetcom the car's so fast.
• 12:55
Speaker 2: I call it toy jet.
• 12:57
Speaker 3: Right now I'm sitting at the car Detuned at 1200 miles or 1200 horsepower Right.
• 13:01
Speaker 2: And it's sitting in the garage undefeated.
• 13:03
  Speaker 2: I love it.
• 13:06
Speaker 4: He's got a nice little ride up there.
• 13:07
Speaker 4: You have to read it.
• 13:09
Speaker 4: But first gear, this is what you're going to feel.
• 13:11
Speaker 4: Second gear you're going to feel it.
• 13:12
Speaker 4: It gets up into like fourth or fifth gear and it's like you're crazy, if you're still here.
• 13:16
Speaker 1: That's it right there Boom.
• 13:17
Speaker 3: Let's get to it right now.
• 13:18
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 13:19
Speaker 2: I got it on my website.
• 13:20
Speaker 2: You go to my website and then you click on my story Right, and I tell the whole history of what you're asking me right now, wow, and then I give you a virtual ride in what it's like to ride in that car and as you read it, you can kind of experience what I'm saying.
• 13:36
  Speaker 4: It's a great read.
• 13:37
  Speaker 4: It really is.
• 13:37
  Speaker 4: It's awesome.
• 13:38
Speaker 2: And also when you click on home, it tells you my history, starting from high school to now and my journey of being the United States best construction instructor in the United States.
• 13:57
Speaker 2: I also won that award in 2019.
• 14:00
Speaker 4: And he's doing all this without a birth certificate, yet All of it.
• 14:07
Speaker 2: So I'm that 13-year-old guy who started off with wrenches in his back pocket walking to the Texas City dump, ride back with a bicycle, sell it go make me another one, stuff like that.
• 14:21
  Speaker 2: I was 13 years old, I was a TV repairman.
• 14:24
  Speaker 2: I'm that guy.
• 14:27
Speaker 2: And then when I went to BP refinery, I worked in the engineering department and I used to always tell those guys I say see, you got validated by some Ivy League class, and I mean Ivy League school, and they put a degree in your hand.
• 14:44
Speaker 2: Well, I was born an engineer and I'm not boasting a bragging because I'm sitting here right now with four US patents and I've made patents for BP.
• 14:53
Speaker 2: I made patent for US Steel.
• 15:02
Speaker 4: I've proven that I'm an innovator.
• 15:03
Speaker 4: Right there you go.
• 15:05
Speaker 3: So I'm an innovator, so my proudest moment is being on this television show.
• 15:11
Speaker 1: Being on this television show.
• 15:13
Speaker 2: And I'm not going to mention no names.
• 15:16
Speaker 2: But when you do something like what I did, it has to be validated by an expert or a world leader.
• 15:24
Speaker 2: Ok, so they asked for a peer.
• 15:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, they asked the world peer, the number one in the world at doing Porsche convergence with the cast iron motor.
• 15:33
Speaker 2: Is it true what that guy in Texas is doing?
• 15:37
  Speaker 2: Is that possible?
• 15:38
Speaker 2: He say no, it's not.
• 15:39
Speaker 2: He's doing trick photography.
• 15:41
Speaker 2: He's the biggest lion in Texas and one day he's just going to go away.
• 15:45
Speaker 2: We meet people like him all the time, just ignoring him.
• 15:48
Speaker 2: So he had his big to do in Atlanta.
• 15:53
Speaker 2: So I told my wife let's take a ride to Atlanta.
• 15:57
Speaker 2: So, we went to Atlanta, this gentleman had all a couple of acres of all converted Porsches that had the cast iron V8 in it.
• 16:06
Speaker 2: So when I showed up they looked at me.
• 16:09
Speaker 2: They say you're at the Texas Toys.
• 16:12
Speaker 2: Yet I say yes, I am.
• 16:13
Speaker 2: What brings you here?
• 16:14
Speaker 2: I say number one, yeah.
