- 0:00Speaker 1: Glad to have you with us alongside, and us, of
- 0:03Speaker 1: course includes the producer Cameron D.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Parker. The D.
- 0:09Speaker 1: On the birth certificate stands for Dallas. That's his middle name,
- 0:13Speaker 1: as in being named for his favorite NFL team who
- 0:19Speaker 1: has frustrated him enough to the point where he has
- 0:22Speaker 1: refused to regularly watch them this season. I said regularly
- 0:25Speaker 1: because he watched them in time or two. It's kind
- 0:27Speaker 1: of mixed in a little bit, but it can mercifully
- 0:30Speaker 1: be said that maybe the D stands for dismissed because
- 0:35Speaker 1: their season is now mercifully over, and you're happy.
- 0:38Speaker 2: About that, aren't you.
- 0:39Speaker 3: I would say it stands for a disaster, because what
- 0:41Speaker 3: a disastrous season for the Dallas Cowboys, and it continues
- 0:44Speaker 3: to get worse.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Was it finished seven to ten? Something? Who?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey, they were three and seven and they did win.
- 0:51Speaker 1: What was it for their last five? I guess, so
- 0:56Speaker 1: you know they Okay, so they or I guess three
- 1:02Speaker 1: of their last fours?
- 1:02Speaker 2: What there they were?
- 1:03Speaker 1: They were three and seven and then they lost their
- 1:06Speaker 1: last two games, lost their last two Yeah, okay, so uh, anyway,
- 1:11Speaker 1: they're done. There was a humorous moment yesterday in case
- 1:15Speaker 1: you didn't know it and didn't hear it. It happened
- 1:18Speaker 1: during our broadcast of the Texas women's basketball game. Cameron
- 1:23Speaker 1: was doing the halftime show, and it was during the
- 1:28Speaker 1: halftime show that Washington hit the game winning touchdown passed
- 1:31Speaker 1: with two seconds left. Correct, And then when and because
- 1:34Speaker 1: you made a remark about it on the air, because
- 1:36Speaker 1: Linda was listening and she got a big kick out
- 1:38Speaker 1: of you saying, oh, yeah, Washington just won the game.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I think they I didn't know how they won the game,
- 1:44Speaker 3: but I saw the score update.
- 1:46Speaker 2: While I was doing the yeah halftimes. Yeah, and Washington
- 1:49Speaker 2: the way the way you enngine was hilarious. It was.
- 1:52Speaker 3: It was perfectly summed up the Dallas Cowboys season, I
- 1:54Speaker 3: thought looking after it.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Afterwards, okay, all right, Jerry Jones was asked, is he
- 2:02Speaker 1: gonna make a change. Jerry Jones's ass, is he gonna
- 2:05Speaker 1: keep being the GM whenne we'll hear from Jerry about
- 2:09Speaker 1: those things coming up. They are rather predictable responses, but
- 2:12Speaker 1: we'll hear from Jerry a little bit later on. Clearly,
- 2:15Speaker 1: obviously there's a lot to discuss with regard to the
- 2:19Speaker 1: Texas Logorns, the college football Playoff summi Finals the Cotton
- 2:22Speaker 1: Bowl in Arlington. Speaking of Jerry at Jerry World on
- 2:28Speaker 1: Friday evening. Our coverage will begin at three thirty Friday
- 2:32Speaker 1: afternoon with Cam and My Cardball Hard, Ja, Mark Henry.
- 2:36Speaker 1: You guys gonna be up there with us, right Yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 1: We're gonna be doing our show live from Boomer Jack's
- 2:40Speaker 1: Gryllan barr And North Arlington, the lake Line location. So
- 2:44Speaker 1: if you're in that area and it's safe to travel,
- 2:47Speaker 1: please come out. We're gonna have Jermichael Finley, the former
- 2:49Speaker 1: Texas Longhorn tied End, joining us. We're gonna have an
- 2:51Speaker 1: insider on and of course we're gonna visit with Craig
- 2:53Speaker 1: and Roger from the booth at at and T Stadium.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Your first time back to eighteen.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Stadium in Oa, like a weekend three weeks, two weeks,
- 3:02Speaker 3: every weeks.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I think it will be actually be three weeks to
- 3:08Speaker 2: the day of.
- 3:10Speaker 1: The last game I did, which was also a Friday,
- 3:12Speaker 1: So I got one more Friday at at A Stadium
- 3:16Speaker 1: because I did those two games, the the four A
- 3:20Speaker 1: Division one and five A Division two state championship games
- 3:23Speaker 1: there on that Friday.
- 3:26Speaker 2: The what was it the twentieth.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I guess, uh so, yeah, you know it'll be it'll
- 3:32Speaker 1: be three weeks to the day there, but different booth. Yeah,
- 3:35Speaker 1: worst booth, right, yeah, yeah, it's I've worked in worse,
- 3:41Speaker 1: including this year at least with Jerry World. And and
- 3:47Speaker 1: for folks who don't know that all of the radio
- 3:49Speaker 1: boots are way up in the corner around into the
- 3:55Speaker 1: I guess it'd be the east windsor and east end
- 3:59Speaker 1: zone because we're member the field faces east west because
- 4:02Speaker 1: in the setting sun, as we know, the players have
- 4:04Speaker 1: to look back up through the windows because Jerry didn't
- 4:06Speaker 1: draw the curtains.
- 4:07Speaker 2: So there's that.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And interestingly enough, Tom Hart from ESPN and I were talking.
- 4:17Speaker 1: He was were in College station when we were over there
- 4:18Speaker 1: for the basketball game on Saturday, and he had done
- 4:22Speaker 1: that First Responders Bowl between Texas State and North Texas.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Really good game.
- 4:27Speaker 1: We got to see Drew Mestebaker, who had been a
- 4:30Speaker 1: backup at Vandergriff had been a starting safety and hunter
- 4:34Speaker 1: absolutely he'd been the backup to Deuce Adams at quarterback,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and Tom U was given all this information about he
- 4:43Speaker 1: hadn't played quarterback since his freshman B team, and so
- 4:47Speaker 1: I texted Drew Sanders about and he said, you know
- 4:50Speaker 1: how sometimes the TV.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Prep can get a little out of whack.
- 4:52Speaker 1: He said, he played a lot as the backup at quarterback,
- 4:57Speaker 1: and he started.
- 4:58Speaker 2: In JV as well. He played the game I called
- 5:00Speaker 2: against McNeil.
- 5:01Speaker 3: He came in after Vandergrift kind of ran away with
- 5:04Speaker 3: it and garbage time Messmaker came in and played the second.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Now, yeah, yeah, so Hed, It's not like he had
- 5:09Speaker 1: never played it before, but boy, he looked like he'd
- 5:12Speaker 1: been playing his whole life. And after he played really
- 5:14Speaker 1: really well, and he gives North Texas some hope going
- 5:17Speaker 1: forward with regard to that quarterback situation for them. But anyway,
- 5:21Speaker 1: Tom Hart and I were talking about and Tom said,
- 5:24Speaker 1: what is it about the Metroplex and the setting sun?
- 5:26Speaker 1: Because there was a thing at at at Gerald J.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Ford Stadium there on the SMU campus we had guys
- 5:33Speaker 1: looking back up into the sun. You had that, And
- 5:36Speaker 1: he said, that's a thing here in the Metroplex here,
- 5:39Speaker 1: because we know what it's like at Jerry World. But
- 5:42Speaker 1: the broadcast booths at AT and T Stadium are elevated
- 5:45Speaker 1: up pretty high and kind in the corner, so you
- 5:49Speaker 1: can see the whole field. The depth perception gets a
- 5:52Speaker 1: little challenging once a cross minfield, but you just look
- 5:55Speaker 1: up and there's a giant jumbo tron there.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Do you even need a monitor in your broadcast booth
- 5:59Speaker 2: when you got that except.
- 6:00Speaker 1: The well TV replays are a little bit different than
- 6:03Speaker 1: what they show on the booth there. But it's good
- 6:06Speaker 1: to have that big board there because once it gets
- 6:08Speaker 1: down around the thirty or so, just to be exact
- 6:11Speaker 1: with the yard lines, that's kind of important, and so
- 6:14Speaker 1: so it does help with that.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I've talked to Brad Sham about this point.
- 6:17Speaker 1: He said, once across his midfield, he's calling it off
- 6:19Speaker 1: the board because it's just hard to get the exact yardage.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I can see it.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I've done enough games up there out of those booths
- 6:27Speaker 1: where I can see it really good till about the
- 6:29Speaker 1: thirty yard line. Then it starts to get a little tight,
- 6:32Speaker 1: and so then you'll you'll cheat a look up there
- 6:35Speaker 1: just to see exactly the yard line on it. But yeah,
- 6:38Speaker 1: that'll be that'll be on Friday. So we've got a
- 6:41Speaker 1: lot to get to with regard to the Longhorts. We're
- 6:45Speaker 1: gonna hear from long Wrts Head coach Steve Sarkgan from
- 6:48Speaker 1: some of the the media zooms that have been going
- 6:51Speaker 1: on in preparation for this Cotton Bowl. We're gonna hear
- 6:54Speaker 1: from some defensive players today. They were yesterday on display,
- 7:00Speaker 1: and this afternoon following practice. The offensive players will speak
- 7:05Speaker 1: some of them, and we'll hear from them tomorrow. But
- 7:08Speaker 1: we're gonna hear from some long corn defensive players this
- 7:11Speaker 1: afternoon in the three o'clock hour, and we'll hear from
- 7:14Speaker 1: those players in the four o'clock hour and a little
- 7:17Speaker 1: bit in the three o'clock hour. In the three o'clock hour,
- 7:19Speaker 1: we're gonna visit with Paul Keels, big Daddy, play by
- 7:23Speaker 1: play voice of the Ohio State buck Eyes, good friend,
- 7:25Speaker 1: and they call him Big Daddy up there, got great pipes,
- 7:30Speaker 1: great broadcaster, and so he will. He'll join us in
- 7:35Speaker 1: the three o'clock hour, and we'll talk about this Buckeyes
- 7:38Speaker 1: team and how how good they look ever since after
- 7:41Speaker 1: the loss to Michigan, what they've done to flip the
- 7:44Speaker 1: script and turn it on. So we'll visit with Paul
- 7:49Speaker 1: to talk about that. We do have inconceivable for a Monday,
- 7:52Speaker 1: as you might imagine. Yeah, we'll talk some basketball. It's
- 7:55Speaker 1: a tough start for this Long Corn basketball team, losing
- 7:58Speaker 1: in College Station to a good.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Texas A and M team.
- 8:01Speaker 1: They're up to number eleven, but it was tied at
- 8:03Speaker 1: thirty seven and a half, and then in the second
- 8:06Speaker 1: half A and M got way too much in the
- 8:08Speaker 1: paint forty eight points in the paint, and that was
- 8:11Speaker 1: a big part of it, and A and M pulled
- 8:13Speaker 1: away one by twenty then won eighty to sixty, and
- 8:16Speaker 1: the Texas women, still looking the part, looked really good
- 8:20Speaker 1: after winning that tough ball game up in Norman last
- 8:23Speaker 1: Thursday against a ninth wing to Oklahoma team, which by
- 8:26Speaker 1: the way, went to Knoxville and beat Tennessee yesterday, a
- 8:30Speaker 1: previously unbeaten Tennessee team. That's how big that road win
- 8:34Speaker 1: was for Texas on Thursday for the Texas women. And
- 8:36Speaker 1: then they turned around at home and just blew out
- 8:38Speaker 1: Arkansas yesterday. They won ninety to fifty six. So the
- 8:40Speaker 1: Long One women are off to it to an o star.
- 8:42Speaker 1: They have a good Alabama team coming in to face
- 8:46Speaker 1: them on Thursday night. Christy Curry, one time coach at
- 8:48Speaker 1: Texas Tech, the coach of Alabama. Texas beat them in
- 8:51Speaker 1: the second round of the tournament. Last year, Alabama defeated
- 8:55Speaker 1: Missouri yesterday. Missouri was number nineteen going in. Alabama won decisively.
- 9:00Speaker 1: So Texas has Alabama coming in and women's basketball on
- 9:04Speaker 1: Thursday night. Also on Thursday, will have our first conference
- 9:11Speaker 1: season edition of Long Worn Weekly with Rodney Terry will
- 9:13Speaker 1: be back out of Pluckers. Now we're going to because
- 9:16Speaker 1: of the compressed week and the bowl game that we
- 9:20Speaker 1: have going on, with all of that stuff going on,
- 9:26Speaker 1: we are going to actually kind of do like we
- 9:28Speaker 1: do like we've done during football season with Sark. We're
- 9:30Speaker 1: actually going to record the program with Rodney on Wednesday
- 9:34Speaker 1: at six o'clock from six to seven. It's when we'll
- 9:37Speaker 1: record Long Worn Weekly with Rodney Terry out at Pluckers
- 9:40Speaker 1: the West Campus location there at twenty two twenty two
- 9:42Speaker 1: Rio Grant. Hope you can join us for that. That's Wednesday.
- 9:45Speaker 1: It will air Thursday night at seven here on the Zone.
- 9:48Speaker 1: And of course Thursday night, the Texas women's game will
- 9:52Speaker 1: be going on on one oh three point one fm
- 9:54Speaker 1: SO and then the Cotton Bowl is Friday, and then
- 9:56Speaker 1: men's basketball against number one Tennessee on Saturday and women's
- 10:01Speaker 1: basketball at South Carolina, the defending national champions, on Sunday.
- 10:05Speaker 1: So there's it's a busy week, no doubt, so a
- 10:08Speaker 1: lot to hear and we'll do that. Coming up, we're
- 10:10Speaker 1: gonna hear from Long Worn's head coach Steve Sarkegon, coming
- 10:13Speaker 1: up next here on AM thirteen under the Zone and
- 10:15Speaker 1: where you always listen to us for free on the
- 10:16Speaker 1: iHeartRadio app.
