Speaker 3: dot com. The big story, of course, and we're gonna
1:43
Speaker 3: get into a little bit later. On another attempt on
1:46
Speaker 3: the life of former President and GOP nominee Donald Trump,
1:49
Speaker 3: a man pointed a rifle into a golf course or
1:51
Speaker 3: onto a golf course in West Paul Beach where the
1:53
Speaker 3: former president was playing yesterday. Now, after initially saying it
1:58
Speaker 3: was not an attempt on the life of Trump, now
1:59
Speaker 3: the FBI says the guy was Ryan Wesley Ruth or
2:05
Speaker 3: ralth have heard it pronounce both ways, and he had
2:07
Speaker 3: an AK forty seven. He was fifty eight years old,
2:10
Speaker 3: had lived in North Carolina most of his life before
2:12
Speaker 3: moving to Hawaii. He apparently posted quite a lot on
2:16
Speaker 3: social media about the war in Ukraine, had a website
2:20
Speaker 3: where he was raising money to recruit volunteers to go
2:23
Speaker 3: to Kiev to fight against the Russian invasion. Going back
2:26
Speaker 3: to twenty twenty, he had made a post on what
2:28
Speaker 3: was then known as Twitter saying the former president would
2:31
Speaker 3: be elected again if he were to issue an executive
2:34
Speaker 3: order to prosecute policeman's conduct. Now, over the last couple
2:38
Speaker 3: of years, he had stated his support for President Biden
2:41
Speaker 3: and now Vice president and Democratic nomine Kamala Harris. He
2:45
Speaker 3: was not a Republican or Democrat, though he's actually registered unaffiliated,
2:49
Speaker 3: and what we know at this point, he had had
2:51
Speaker 3: multiple run ends with the law in North Carolina in
2:54
Speaker 3: the past. In two thousand and two, he was convicted
2:56
Speaker 3: of possessing what was called a weapon of mass destruction,
3:00
Speaker 3: and there are reports that he may may have at
3:04
Speaker 3: least at one point took part in some sort of
3:07
Speaker 3: a barricade type situation involving police. Now that was of
3:12
Speaker 3: about an hour or so ago, that had not been confirmed.
3:14
Speaker 3: As for West Virginia Senators Capitot and Mansion, as well
3:18
Speaker 3: as Gubnatural candidate and Attorney General Patrick Morrissey, current governor
3:22
Speaker 3: and Republican US Senate candidate Jim Justice, and State Democratic
3:25
Speaker 3: Party chair A delegate Mike Pushkin, all out with statements
3:28
Speaker 3: condemning the assassination attempt. Well, of course, get back to
3:31
Speaker 3: more of this later on this show a time allows,
3:33
Speaker 3: and certainly Hopy's going to get into it coming up
3:36
Speaker 3: at the top of the hour. You've heard on the
3:40
Speaker 3: show in the past. Tony Hodge on the show before.
3:42
Speaker 3: Tony is the vice chair of the State Republican Party,
3:44
Speaker 3: but he's ventured out with another project having really nothing
3:47
Speaker 3: to do with his role within the party, totally independent
3:50
Speaker 3: of his role there. Tony started a podcast primarily focused
3:54
Speaker 3: on faith and family last time he was on this show.
3:57
Speaker 3: In fact, that's what we talked about those two particular
3:59
Speaker 3: sub Jake, he's not got this podcast that's quite frankly
4:02
Speaker 3: becoming pretty pretty big, big hit, not only here but
4:05
Speaker 3: across all across al Gore's interwebs. So I'm going to
4:09
Speaker 3: talk to Tony about that. Plus your hometown baseball team,
4:12
Speaker 3: the Charleston dirty Birds have made the playoffs, have played
4:14
Speaker 3: two here tomorrow night and then also well actually one
4:18
Speaker 3: tomorrow night on Wednesday night, I should say over Gomar Ballpark.
4:20
Speaker 3: Jill Garrett from the Dirty Birds is here with all
4:22
Speaker 3: the info you need. A little bit later on in
4:25
Speaker 3: the show as well, Plus calls the text to welcome

4:36
Speaker 3: Big event happening this Saturday, Kadas State for It's to
4:39
Speaker 3: benefit the camc's Children's Advocacy Center. It's called the We
4:43
Speaker 3: Can Climb. And Robbie Queen is the Senior Development officer
4:47
Speaker 3: for the CAMC Foundation and Marine run Ye and the
4:49
Speaker 3: coordinator of the CAMC Children's Advocate Center both join us
4:53
Speaker 3: to talk about it's Robbie, good morning, Welcome to the show.
4:56
Speaker 5: Good morning, Dave, it's great to be back.
4:57
Speaker 6: Thanks for having us.
4:58
Speaker 3: Thank you for me and here Maureene, welcome them to
5:00
Speaker 3: the show. The first time you've been on this show. Right,
5:02
Speaker 3: it is but you've been on some of the other
5:04
Speaker 3: stations and thanks for having saved the best for last.
5:07
Speaker 3: Is that what you're saying absolutely absolutely not hearing this,
5:13
Speaker 3: he's taking it that what exactly is the c AMC
5:16
Speaker 3: Children's Advocacy Center.
5:18
Speaker 7: So you know, I always say we do the work
5:21
Speaker 7: that no one wants to think about. We know that
5:23
Speaker 7: kids in our community and across our state and country
5:28
Speaker 7: physical and they need someone to take care of them.
5:33
Speaker 8: And so we get referrals from multitudes of different community agencies, physicians, parents,
5:42
Speaker 8: and we provide the services of what's called a forensic interview,
5:47
Speaker 8: where we have staff that are trained to talk to
5:50
Speaker 8: kids in a way that is considered neutral, child friendly
5:55
Speaker 8: to try to figure out what's going on in their life.
5:58
Speaker 8: And then we have specially trained medical providers who provide
6:04
Speaker 8: medical evaluation and assessment. We have therapists who provide counseling
6:09
Speaker 8: free of charge to kids, and then also people called
6:13
Speaker 8: family advocates who help the family to understand and deal
6:17
Speaker 8: with what's going on. And so it's kind of a
6:20
Speaker 8: one stop shop for the evaluation and treatment of these children.
6:24
Speaker 3: And sometimes I think when we have these situations, Marine
6:28
Speaker 3: and Robbie with kids in these situations. Sometimes it can
6:32
Speaker 3: be no matter what the situation is, illness obviously, or
6:35
Speaker 3: some sort of whatever, it can be just as difficult
6:37
Speaker 3: in the families because the families just don't know. I mean,
6:39
Speaker 3: they can leave, they can leave the medical aspect up
6:41
Speaker 3: to the professionals, but there's so many other things that
6:44
Speaker 3: go into it that they just don't know how to handle, right.
6:47
Speaker 8: And you know, we know statistically that ninety to ninety
6:50
Speaker 8: five percent of the people who abuse children are someone
6:54
Speaker 8: they know, love and trust. So for that parent, right
6:57
Speaker 8: that has not hurt their child. It's grandparent, it's an
7:01
Speaker 8: and an uncle, it's a sibling, and so that is
7:04
Speaker 8: really devastating to them to have someone that they trusted
7:09
Speaker 8: to be a caregiver to their child to abuse that
7:13
Speaker 8: trust in the worst.
7:14
Speaker 3: Way of all people you know in the family. Now, Robbie,
7:18
Speaker 3: you guys are doing a five k trail run and
7:20
Speaker 3: a two and a half mile trail hike. Is that right?
7:23
Speaker 9: That's right?
7:24
Speaker 3: Believe it or not. I'm not really big into that stuff.
7:26
Speaker 3: I know you're going to find that hard to believe.
7:28
Speaker 5: That's the other breaking news of the day, right, I'm
7:30
Speaker 5: not in the fitness.
7:31
Speaker 3: I'm in the in the fitness, cheeseburger in my mouth.
7:34
Speaker 3: But this is a five k trail run and a
7:36
Speaker 3: two and a half mile trail height to support the
7:38
Speaker 3: Advocacy Center. It's going to be this Saturday, Kanaal State
7:41
Speaker 3: Forest Shelter number three, is that right?
7:43
Speaker 2: Yeah?
7:44
Speaker 3: So what exactly goes on there?
7:46
Speaker 5: You know, Marine listed a host of services that they
7:49
Speaker 5: provide at the Children's Advocacy Center and it's because of
7:52
Speaker 5: events like this with weekend climb that they were able
7:56
Speaker 5: to provide those services at no calls to the child
7:58
Speaker 5: or family. If there's an insurance involved, that's build, but
8:02
Speaker 5: the child and family they do not receive a bill
8:04
Speaker 5: for anything that is any of the services that are
8:06
Speaker 5: provided at the Children's Advocacy Center. So this event helps
8:11
Speaker 5: raise funds to support the work that the Children's Advocacy
8:14
Speaker 5: Center does and the staff there. This is a five
8:18
Speaker 5: k trail run two and a half mile hike. So
8:20
Speaker 5: if you're into the trail running, this is a great
8:22
Speaker 5: event for you if you just like to take a
8:24
Speaker 5: nice hike on the last day of summer fall starts
8:29
Speaker 5: on Sunday. If you want to get out and take
8:30
Speaker 5: a hike. This would be a great event too. The
8:32
Speaker 5: event starts at eight am. Registration starts at am. The
8:36
Speaker 5: event starts at nine am at Kanawa State Force Shelter
8:39
Speaker 5: Number three. Should be a great morning weatherwise. We were
8:41
Speaker 5: looking at the weather before we came in, like it
8:44
Speaker 5: is right now outside that morning should be a good time.
8:47
Speaker 3: Now, is this a new event?
8:48
Speaker 5: This is actually the tenth annual, so it is the
8:52
Speaker 5: newest event in the CAMC Foundation's host of events that
8:56
Speaker 5: we do. This is the third year that we've worked
8:58
Speaker 5: with Maureene and her staff too to conduct this event.
9:02
Speaker 5: But it's the tenth year for it, and we have
9:04
Speaker 5: seen continued growth year after year, and I think this
9:07
Speaker 5: year is proving to probably be a record year for us.
9:09
Speaker 3: We certainly hope. So it's nine sixteen. But Dave Allen
9:11
Speaker 3: Chilling five. Any line brought to you apart by Jute
9:13

9:16
Speaker 3: or business. Talk to Juke Joot of Tay's Valley Visit
9:19
Speaker 3: protected by Jute dot Com. People want to get involved.
9:22
Speaker 3: Do we have sponsorships available or on that.
9:26
Speaker 5: We are winding down our sponsorships, you know, probably by
9:29
Speaker 5: the end of today we'll have to have signed sent
9:32
Speaker 5: off to print, but other than that, we are encouraging
9:35
Speaker 5: folks to get out and enjoy the day. They can
9:37
Speaker 5: register online through the end of the day on Wednesday,
9:41
Speaker 5: the seven eighteenth, and that can be done via our
9:46
Speaker 5: website CAMC Foundation dot org, where they can call our
9:50
Speaker 5: office at three oh four three eight eight nine eight
9:52

9:56
Speaker 5: over the phone, and we'll also accept registrations on site
9:59
Speaker 5: that morning.
10:00
Speaker 9: The cost to.
10:01
Speaker 5: Register thirty dollars. That includes a nice long sleeve T
10:05
Speaker 5: shirt branded for this year's event, plus some other swag
10:08
Speaker 5: that we have to include in our bag. We have
10:10
Speaker 5: had a great response from sponsors in the community this year.
10:14
Speaker 5: These events don't happen on their own, and if it
10:17
Speaker 5: was not for the generosity of the community here and
10:21
Speaker 5: both businesses and individuals realizing the importance of the work
10:25
Speaker 5: that has done at the Children's Advocacy Center, this wouldn't
10:28
Speaker 5: be possible. So the donors have really stepped up to
10:33
Speaker 5: help provide these services that are much needed.
10:36
Speaker 3: Big event again, it's going to be happening this Saturday,
10:38
Speaker 3: Cannon State for US Shelter number three. It's kind of
10:40
Speaker 3: where everything gets going. And what's the time again?
10:43
Speaker 5: Sure, registration starts at eight am, the event starts at
10:46
Speaker 5: nine am. And again, folks can sign up on our
10:49
Speaker 5: website CAMC Foundation dot org or they can go give
10:52
Speaker 5: us a call at the office at three four three

Speaker 3: last time, and you don't have to bring this guy

Speaker 3: That is coming up on tomorrow's show. Texas, why are

14:15
Speaker 3: We need to heed the words of Trump advance on

Speaker 12: Good morning, thank you. Happy playoff week.
14:49
Speaker 3: Absolutely, it was a little slow to get there last week.
14:54
Speaker 3: But the Birds are heading to the playoffs, and at
14:56
Speaker 3: least two of the games will be here Tomorrow night
14:58
Speaker 3: and Wednesday night against Gastonia.
15:00
Speaker 12: Correct, so's the best of five series. First two games
15:02
Speaker 12: start Tomorrow and Wednesday, and then we play in Gastonia Friday,
15:05
Speaker 12: and then if necessary, Saturday Sunday.
15:07
Speaker 3: Okay, So, so we got two here and then the
15:11
Speaker 3: rest is that what you said earlier.
15:12
Speaker 12: The rest of the three are in Gastonia. If we
15:14
Speaker 12: win this series and the Championship series would start here
15:17
Speaker 12: again next Tuesday and Wednesday. But let's not get ahead
15:19
Speaker 12: of myself.
15:20
Speaker 3: Yes, well, it's kind of funny because I was talking
15:22
Speaker 3: to Jill. We were texting back and forth on I
15:24
Speaker 3: guess what Thursday, and that's the At that time, the
15:28
Speaker 3: Birds had to win Thursday night to make the playoffs,
15:30
Speaker 3: and I said, well, let's have you win. But then
15:32
Speaker 3: I said, now, wait a minute, let's wait till they're
15:33
Speaker 3: actually in, because I know how sports people can be
15:37
Speaker 3: about superstitions and about jinxes and things like that, so
15:40
Speaker 3: I wanted to wait till the ink was dry and
15:42
Speaker 3: they were officially info before we got you in. But
15:46
Speaker 3: you're here, and now, how how's the ticket's gonna work?
15:48
Speaker 3: Just like a regular game or what regular game?
15:50
Speaker 12: Regular prices for tickets, you can go online at dirty
15:52
Speaker 12: words baseball dot com or come over to the box
15:54
Speaker 12: office on Morris Street. But the promotions are a little
15:57
Speaker 12: bit different. Are basically combining all of our best prim
16:00
Speaker 12: motions of the season into these two days. So both days,
16:04
Speaker 12: kids twelve and under get in for free. It's bark
16:06
Speaker 12: in the park where you can bring your dog, and
16:08
Speaker 12: we also have two dollars hot dogs, soda, beer, and popcorn.
16:12
Speaker 3: Popcorn. Yeah, And I think that's kind of cool that
16:15
Speaker 3: you're doing that, because you know, the Birds do all
16:18
Speaker 3: sorts of promotions, you know, every night something you know
16:20
Speaker 3: going on there, and you do the Thursday Thursday and
16:22
Speaker 3: you do the Bark in the Park and the fireworks
16:23
Speaker 3: and whatever. But this is really probably the most popular ones,
16:28
Speaker 3: or are the are the bark in the Park and
16:29
Speaker 3: the two dollars deals and so you're in the kids
16:32
Speaker 3: under twelve admitted free, So you're doing that for both nights.
16:35
Speaker 12: Right, I think other than fireworks, it's probably the best
16:37
Speaker 12: promotions that we have in terms of what minor league
16:40
Speaker 12: baseball is supposed to be of family friendly, so kids
16:42
Speaker 12: get in for free, and then also it's affordable. We're
16:45
Speaker 12: two dollars food, beer, soda. So it should be a
16:48
Speaker 12: great time coming out. We have plenty of tickets left
16:50
Speaker 12: and we just want to pack the house and make
16:51
Speaker 12: sure that our boys feel supported by their hometown team.
16:54
Speaker 3: Talk about the overall season for the Dirty Birds. I mean,
16:56
Speaker 3: the way that the league works is it's divided up
16:59
Speaker 3: into two different seas and let's just kind of give
17:01
Speaker 3: us a review of the entire season.
17:03
Speaker 12: Yeah. I mean in the first half we were off
17:05
Speaker 12: to an amazing start where I was thinking, oh my gosh,
17:07
Speaker 12: championship team, no doubt. And then we had a lot
17:10
Speaker 12: of guys get picked up by major league teams, which
17:12
Speaker 12: is great, we're happy for them, but we really saw
17:14
Speaker 12: a plateau, even a little bit of a downhill, if
17:16
Speaker 12: you will, where at the second half I was thinking, man,
17:20
Speaker 12: I don't think we're gonna have any chance, and all
17:22
Speaker 12: of a sudden, with the same guys that we've had
17:24
Speaker 12: a few more pickups in the bullpen, we've had a
17:26
Speaker 12: great run in the second half, and we have some
17:28
Speaker 12: momentum going in against Gustonia.
17:30
Speaker 3: I mean, they just kind of, like you said, they
17:32
Speaker 3: picked it up. And and when you're talking about about
17:35
Speaker 3: the way that the structure of baseball is, as you said, Jill,
17:39
Speaker 3: it's a good thing when your players get noticed, But
17:42
Speaker 3: for people that are trying to run the organization, you're like, hey,
17:45
Speaker 3: we're glad for We're glad that that that gym got
17:48
Speaker 3: picked up, but we gotta get somebody to take Jim's
17:53
Speaker 3: to Jim's place. How's the crowds been this season?
17:55
Speaker 12: Crowds have been great, we are on track to break records.
17:58
Speaker 12: I mean, look, weekends are always an exciting time. So
18:01
Speaker 12: that's why we put a lot of our great promotions
18:03
Speaker 12: for the weekdays, because we want people to come out
18:05
Speaker 12: to the ballpark on Tuesdays and Wednesdays too.
18:07
Speaker 3: We're talking to Joe Garon of the Dirty Birds here.
18:09
Speaker 3: They have made the playoffs, the Dave Allen Show and
18:12
Speaker 3: five It Hey Live. Brought to you apart by Hustans Pizza.
18:14
Speaker 3: This month at your favorite Hussans get a large a
18:16
Speaker 3: ten inch pepperoni pizza and an eight inch chocolate chip
18:18
Speaker 3: cookie for twenty three ninety nine. Now I am presuming
18:21
Speaker 3: because Jill, throughout the season, you guys have changed names
18:24
Speaker 3: a couple of times just for promotional But what was
18:26
Speaker 3: the one related salt that you just didn't like?
18:28
Speaker 12: The Saltown Dirty Birds.
18:30
Speaker 3: Yeah, Saltown dirty Birds. But this is all dirty birds, right.
18:32
Speaker 3: This is no no, no salt, no, no Charlie's, no anything.
18:36
Speaker 12: This is all dirty birds, all dirty birds. We need
18:38
Speaker 12: the dirty Birds to win at all and that's who
18:40
Speaker 12: we're going to be.
18:41
Speaker 3: And the weather we were Robbie Queen my last guest,
18:43
Speaker 3: and now we're talking about the weather looks pretty good,
18:45
Speaker 3: because we definitely need some rain. I like anybody's going
18:47
Speaker 3: to be plaining about the rain, but we'd like to
18:49
Speaker 3: not have it during the game. And from what I
18:51
Speaker 3: saw and earlier this morning, it looks like any rain
18:54
Speaker 3: that we get probably would be earlier in the day tomorrow,
18:56
Speaker 3: which is perfect.
18:57
Speaker 12: I mean, again, we play on turf at Gomart Ballpark,
18:59
Speaker 12: so if we have rain in the morning, that's great
19:01
Speaker 12: for the area and we can still play. So if
19:03
Speaker 12: you see rain in the forecast, do not worry. This
19:05
Speaker 12: game is happening.
19:07
Speaker 3: Let's talk about the community support of the Dirty Birds.
19:11
Speaker 3: I mean, Charleston's been a baseball town for many, many years,
19:14
Speaker 3: going back to the Charlie's and the Senators and the
19:18
Speaker 3: Wheelers and the alley Cats and the Power and so
19:20
Speaker 3: on and so forth. That's continued. And you've only this
19:25
Speaker 3: is your first year here and you've been around baseball
19:28
Speaker 3: for some time. I think you'll attest to the fact
19:30
Speaker 3: that Charleston's a baseball town, right.
19:33
Speaker 12: Remember I moved here at the end of February to
19:35
Speaker 12: become the manager of community Relations, so I kind of
19:37
Speaker 12: didn't really know what I was getting myself into. In
19:39
Speaker 12: a new community, a new area. But the support has
19:42
Speaker 12: been amazing where I mean, I just saw you at
19:45
Speaker 12: Ribfest lasts last weekend and we just have a Dirty
19:47
Speaker 12: Birds table out and people automatically come up and say, hey,
19:50
Speaker 12: what's going on with the Dirty Birds? I heard you're
19:51
Speaker 12: making the playoffs. Just the support has been great and
19:54
Speaker 12: it really is a testament to Andy Shea and the
19:56
Speaker 12: management as well of how they want to be a
19:58
Speaker 12: part of this community. They this community and the community supports.
20:02
Speaker 3: Us, and there is again a sense every game is important.
20:06
Speaker 3: But when you start talking playoffs, then you know, you
20:09
Speaker 3: may get some people that haven't been to a game
20:11
Speaker 3: in a while to say, hey, I'm I want to
20:13
Speaker 3: come out for.
20:13
Speaker 12: This, right, I mean, definitely come because it's going to
20:16
Speaker 12: be electric. You know, the toast section with toast Man
20:19
Speaker 12: is going to be crazy right behind home plate. We're
20:21
Speaker 12: still going to have all of our fun promotions going on. So, yes,
20:24
Speaker 12: the focus is a little bit more on baseball because
20:26
Speaker 12: we want to win, but the fan atmosphere is still
20:29
Speaker 12: going to be fantastic and.
20:30
Speaker 3: Talk about this league. I mean, there were some questions
20:32
Speaker 3: because you know, over the years, Charleston Baseball has been
20:34
Speaker 3: in a variety of different leagues, and this this league
20:37
Speaker 3: has been a bit different bit of the change, but
20:40
Speaker 3: overall it looks like it's worked out well.
20:41
Speaker 12: It's been great. You know, this is my first year
20:43
Speaker 12: in unaffiliated ball, so it was different for me as well.
20:46
Speaker 12: But the play is frankly better than what I had
20:48
Speaker 12: the last few years, where I had some young nineteen
20:50
Speaker 12: twenty year olds. These are guys who have been in
20:52
Speaker 12: the major leagues, guys who want to make it to
20:54
Speaker 12: the major leagues. The youngest guy on the team is
20:56
Speaker 12: twenty three, and I think the oldest is in his forties,
20:59
Speaker 12: so we have a whie and just the level of
21:02
Speaker 12: talent has been great. For example, I just found out
21:05
Speaker 12: who our two starters are for this week. It's Keiva
21:07
Speaker 12: Sampson and Christopher Rogondo. Both of them have big league experience.
21:11
Speaker 12: So it's it's an amazing league to be a part of.
21:13
Speaker 3: And let's talk about the guys that have been called up.
21:15
Speaker 3: As you said, you know, you had an amazing first
21:17
Speaker 3: half of the season, and with that comes the you know,
21:19
Speaker 3: the plucking way of the players. You know, they get
21:21
Speaker 3: caught up. Talk about some of the guys that did
21:23
Speaker 3: get a call.
21:24
Speaker 12: Yeah, none of them have made it to the major
21:27
Speaker 12: league just yet, exactly. They're in affiliated. A lot of
21:30
Speaker 12: them are in double A, triple A on the first
21:31
Speaker 12: one that comes to mind is Kevin Maton where he
21:34
Speaker 12: is now with the Twins. And he wasn't even our
21:37
Speaker 12: opening day starter. He was on the bench for opening
21:40
Speaker 12: day and then he played first base and he hit
21:42
Speaker 12: amazing and he did not sit another day until he
21:46
Speaker 12: got picked up by the Twins. So he was a
21:48
Speaker 12: great pick up for them. We had some amazing starters.
21:52
Speaker 12: Kevin McGowan, a former Big leaguer. He got picked up,
21:54
Speaker 12: so did Trey Shuepock. And when those two got picked up,
21:57
Speaker 12: that was when we started having a little downfall because
22:00
Speaker 12: we needed some more pictures. But we're again. We're excited
22:03
Speaker 12: for them. We keep up with their careers as much
22:04
Speaker 12: as possible, and we wish them nothing but the best.
22:07
Speaker 3: All right, let's review again, Jill before we let you go,
22:09
Speaker 3: because I know you got a lot to do to
22:10
Speaker 3: get ready for the So we're playing two games to
22:12
Speaker 3: Go Ballpark tomorrow night and Wednesday, six thirty five. Start
22:17
Speaker 3: time gates open at thirty five thirty and it's all
22:20
Speaker 3: the two dollars promotions that you love, from the popcorn,
22:23
Speaker 3: to the beer, to the water, to the sodas and
22:26
Speaker 3: kids twelve and under get in.
22:28
Speaker 12: For free, yes and to bark in the park where
22:30
Speaker 12: you can bring your dogs both nights.
22:31
Speaker 3: Again, we want to make sure people realize that that
22:33
Speaker 3: the promotions we talked about are good Tuesday night into
22:36
Speaker 3: Wednesday night, so definitely we've got two and then you
22:39
Speaker 3: head down to Gastonia after that, and we need to
22:42
Speaker 3: pack the ballpark tomorrow night to make sure that the
22:45
Speaker 3: Birds continue what's been an amazing season for them. Jill Garren,
22:49
Speaker 3: little miss everything for the Dirty Birds. I appreciate you
22:52
Speaker 3: being here. We'll see at the ballpark tomorrow night.
22:54

26:11
Speaker 3: well since he was here last. He started his own podcast,
26:15
Speaker 3: and to say that things have taken off would be
26:17
Speaker 3: a bit of an understate. But he joins us now
26:19
Speaker 3: to talk about it. Tony, good morning, Welcome to the show.
26:21
Speaker 16: Good morning, Dave.
26:22
Speaker 4: It's good to be here, and I do want to
26:23
Speaker 4: tell you right now I'm serving as Secretary of the WHA.
26:26
Speaker 3: Okay, I'm sorry, Secretary.
26:29
Speaker 4: We've switched up roles. But anyway, still an officer in
26:31
Speaker 4: the West Virginia Republican Party. And I want to say
26:33
Speaker 4: this real quick. I'm actually feeling good this morning. I'm
26:37
Speaker 4: uplifted because your previous guest said that they have players
26:41
Speaker 4: on their professional baseball team that range from their twenties
26:45
Speaker 4: all the way into their forties.
26:46
Speaker 16: And as a man in his forties, I'm.
26:48
Speaker 4: Glad to know that I am still could be eligible
26:51
Speaker 4: to play professional baseball.
26:52
Speaker 16: So I'm feeling invigorated today.
26:53
Speaker 3: You know, she didn't say anything about fifties, which is
26:55
Speaker 3: where I am. Right, that's kind of the cutoff.
26:57
Speaker 16: Yeah, that's uh, you'll have to do with that.
26:59
Speaker 3: I guess.
27:00
Speaker 9: I guess.
27:01
Speaker 3: Let's get right to it. And I want to hear
27:02
Speaker 3: about this podcast. First of all, what's it called.
27:05
Speaker 16: It's called Viewpoint with Tony Hodge?
27:07
Speaker 3: Okay, and what is the subject? Where it's available? Give
27:09
Speaker 3: us all the details.
27:10
Speaker 4: Yeah, so the subject matter. What we do on Viewpoint
27:13
Speaker 4: is we talk about worldview issues. And worldview is kind
27:18
Speaker 4: of like just what it says, it's how people view
27:20
Speaker 4: the world, and so people have different worldviews. You may
27:23
Speaker 4: have a Christian worldview, you may have a non religious worldview.
27:26
Speaker 4: Your worldview you know your religion, may be politics, I
27:29
Speaker 4: don't know, but everybody has a worldview, and what we
27:31
Speaker 4: like to do is we like to dissect people's worldviews
27:34
Speaker 4: and then see how worldviews intersect with our politics, how
27:39
Speaker 4: it intersects with our daily life. And so it was
27:43
Speaker 4: kind of a negative space that I detected. Especially in
27:46
Speaker 4: West Virginia, we don't have a lot of programming that
27:50
Speaker 4: covers that kind of thing, and so I thought, well,
27:52
Speaker 4: if there's no one doing it, why not do it?
27:54
Speaker 4: And I'll tell you I've been very, very pleased with
27:57
Speaker 4: the results. I was just looking this morning before I
28:00
Speaker 4: came on the air because I wanted to have my
28:01
Speaker 4: facts in order. But we, believe it or not, are
28:04
Speaker 4: now coast to coast. We have listeners in Pennsylvania, Chicago, Texas, Oregon,
28:09
Speaker 4: even Mexico. So we're in one other country, but we're
28:14
Speaker 4: in almost all fifty states. I think it's about forty
28:17
Speaker 4: some states now. Of course all over West Virginia that's
28:20
Speaker 4: our most popular listening area. But yeah, we have we
28:23
Speaker 4: try to have interesting guests on and it's so let
28:27
Speaker 4: me tell you, so one thing that you do and
28:30
Speaker 4: what hopy does you Guys play a very important role
28:34
Speaker 4: for the public. You bring people on, just like the
28:37
Speaker 4: guests you've had today, and you put forth, you know,
28:39
Speaker 4: information that's interesting to the public. Let people know what's
28:41
Speaker 4: going on out there.
28:42
Speaker 3: Well, that's the that's the plan. Doesn't always work out
28:44
Speaker 3: that way.
28:45
Speaker 16: Well until you had me on, Yeah, and then everything changed.
28:47
Speaker 3: Yeah we're going.
28:49
Speaker 16: But no, what you guys do is very is very important.
28:51
Speaker 16: But me coming on.
28:53
Speaker 4: So I come on your show from time to time,
28:55
Speaker 4: and I go on and interviewed in other places. And
28:58
Speaker 4: a lot of times when I come on, am interviewed
29:01
Speaker 4: in short, you know, twenty minute bits or whatever the
29:03
Speaker 4: case may be. A lot of times it's talking points.
29:06
Speaker 7: You know.
29:07
Speaker 4: I'll come in, I'll and I'll have talkers prepared. That's
29:09
Speaker 4: what we call them in the business, talkers. I'll have
29:10
Speaker 4: some prepared.
29:11
Speaker 3: I love that he's using he's using the lingo now, right,
29:14
Speaker 3: we have talkers.
29:15
Speaker 16: Yeah, I'm coming along so but but but everybody does.
29:19
Speaker 4: Just like your previous guests, I know that they came
29:21
Speaker 4: in prepared with the information that they can get out
29:24
Speaker 4: in a specified period of time.
29:26
Speaker 16: And that's important and there's a role for that. But
29:28
Speaker 16: I found a lot of times when I would come on.
29:29
Speaker 4: Let's say, for instance, on this program, we would get
29:32
Speaker 4: textures or callers, and you know, there may be something
29:36
Speaker 4: that I'm trying to put forth that I don't quite
29:38
Speaker 4: have enough time to fully explain.
29:42
Speaker 3: You know what, most some of the guests on my
29:44
Speaker 3: show are in ten to fifteen minute segments for the
29:46
Speaker 3: most part.
29:46
Speaker 4: Sure, and a lot of times people's ideas take longer
29:49
Speaker 4: than that to get out, and so we come on
29:50
Speaker 4: and we try to get out as quickly as possible.
29:52
Speaker 4: But with the podcast format, which doesn't compete with this
29:56
Speaker 4: at all, what we do is we may take one
29:58
Speaker 4: guest and do a de I may have some interesting
30:01
Speaker 4: person on and say, okay, let's sit down and talk
30:03
Speaker 4: for an hour two hours. You know, however, you however
30:06
Speaker 4: long you want to sit down and talk, and then
30:07
Speaker 4: let's dig deeper than just your talking points. I don't
30:10
Speaker 4: I want to know your talking points. But then once
30:12
Speaker 4: you release those, I want to know, Okay, why do
30:14
Speaker 4: you believe that, what's the worldview behind that? Why are
30:17
Speaker 4: you saying?
30:19
Speaker 16: Why do you have the position that you have?
30:20
Speaker 4: And so so far it's been very popular where we
30:24
Speaker 4: have high listenership, and it's growing and growing every day.
30:26
Speaker 3: Give me an example of some of the shows. I mean,
30:28
Speaker 3: just a couple of guests that you've had, a couple
30:30
Speaker 3: of topics that you've gotten into, because I did want
30:32
Speaker 3: to reiterate that you're doing, Tony, this podcast totally separate
30:36
Speaker 3: from your role as now secretary with the State Republican Party.
30:39
Speaker 3: This is not sanctioned in any way by the State
30:41
Speaker 3: Republican Party. This is just Tony the dude.
30:44
Speaker 9: Yeah.
30:44
Speaker 3: The other wise it's you're kind of independent on this.
30:47
Speaker 3: So give me an example of some of the topics
30:49
Speaker 3: some of the guests that you've had on the show.
30:51
Speaker 4: Yeah, So it is independent from the Republican Party. Our chairman,
30:53
Speaker 4: Matt Herritch, he he also has plans to do something,
30:57
Speaker 4: but his will be more in his role with Chairman
30:59
Speaker 4: of the Publican Party, so he'll cover that space.
31:01
Speaker 16: This is me on my own, separate from that. So
31:04
Speaker 16: a few examples.
31:05
Speaker 4: So one of my early guests was an author by
31:09
Speaker 4: the name of Leonidas Johnson.
31:11
Speaker 3: He's been on the show before.
31:12
Speaker 4: Yeah, he's actually been on the show before. He's very good.
31:15
Speaker 4: And he wrote a book called Raising Victims, The Pernicious
31:18
Speaker 4: Rise of Critical Race Theory, and it talks about just that,
31:23
Speaker 4: and so I had him on the show to talk
31:24
Speaker 4: about critical race theory. The interesting thing about him is
31:27
Speaker 4: he's a black man, and so I hear him speak
31:30
Speaker 4: about it from his point of view, from his worldview,
31:32
Speaker 4: and he brings a whole perspective that maybe I don't
31:35
Speaker 4: always see all those angles, you know, that he sees.
31:38
Speaker 3: A perspective that you or I or maybe others could
31:40
Speaker 3: not understand.
31:41
Speaker 16: Right, Yeah, exactly.
31:42
Speaker 4: And it's interesting because you know him and I, I mean,
31:45
Speaker 4: we agree on these things. But so he came on
31:47
Speaker 4: and talked spoke about critical race theory, the history of it,
31:52
Speaker 4: the Marxist worldview that's behind it, and then how it's
31:56
Speaker 4: affecting our culture today. So we talked about that from
31:59
Speaker 4: all different respectives. But the interesting thing about him was
32:02
Speaker 4: is we didn't just talk about that. He's also a
32:05
Speaker 4: very interesting fellow because he does theater work. He writes screenplays,
32:11
Speaker 4: he writes theater plays, he does all these things.
32:13
Speaker 16: So we talked about that too. So and then we
32:15
Speaker 16: talked about why do you do that, what interests you?
32:18
Speaker 12: What?
32:18
Speaker 4: What role does theater and things like this have in
32:21
Speaker 4: our society, you know, So we go deeper than just
32:24
Speaker 4: talking about your talking points, so to speak. Another individual
32:28
Speaker 4: that I had on was Aaron Wren. He he authored
32:31
Speaker 4: Life in the Negative World, which I talked about on
32:33
Speaker 4: a little bit on this show the last time I
32:34
Speaker 4: was on, and he talks about how how America no
32:39
Speaker 4: longer uh sees Christianity as a positive and he talks
32:43
Speaker 4: about the history of that and going into how you know,
32:46
Speaker 4: America when we were founded, most of our founders cited
32:52
Speaker 4: the Bible more than any other work of writing ever
32:57
Speaker 4: by far, by, far, far far, And he talks about
33:00
Speaker 4: that in the book.
33:01
Speaker 16: But but that was at a time.
33:02
Speaker 4: Whether or not you believe this nation is a Christian nation,
33:05
Speaker 4: we can all agree, I mean, because it's history. I mean,
33:08
Speaker 4: it's it's just fact. We can all agree that the
33:10
Speaker 4: nation was founded on biblical principles.
33:13
Speaker 16: That's a fact. I mean, there's just no getting around it.
33:16
Speaker 4: So but now today a lot of our Christian principles
33:20
Speaker 4: are seen negatively, and so we talked about that with
33:23
Speaker 4: Aaron Ren, and we we kind of we got into that. Now,
33:25
Speaker 4: the program normally, unless something breaking happens, the program normally
33:29
Speaker 4: will come out every Tuesday morning, and so tomorrow Tuesday morning,
33:33
Speaker 4: we'll have a new program out and I talk with
33:34
Speaker 4: the doctor Jeff Myers. He he runs a program called
33:41
Speaker 4: Summit out in Colorado, and we're going to talk about
33:43
Speaker 4: the Israel conflict with Hamas and the terrorist organization Hamas,
33:49
Speaker 4: how they came in and and uh and you know,
33:52
Speaker 4: bombed and raped and killed people there in Israel. And
33:55
Speaker 4: we're going to talk about the world views behind that,
33:57
Speaker 4: why that's happening, the history of it, how long it's
33:59
Speaker 4: been going on, and why this problem still persists today.
34:02
Speaker 3: Talking to Tony Hodge again about this podcast. Now, last time,
34:06
Speaker 3: Tony that you were on the show, I had you on,
34:08
Speaker 3: not necessarily again to talk about politics, although there's a
34:12
Speaker 3: lot of the two things to touch each other a lot,
34:15
Speaker 3: but this was not about politics. This was just about
34:17
Speaker 3: faith and family and things of that nature. Boy, did
34:21
Speaker 3: we get the response when you were on the show.
34:23
Speaker 3: Has there been negative response to your show? Because here's
34:26
Speaker 3: the thing about podcasts, there's so many of them out there.
34:30
Speaker 3: People generally speaking, they don't It's not like terrestrial radio
34:33
Speaker 3: or even television or whatever, or a newspaper where people
34:36
Speaker 3: pick it up and they read it. And so I
34:37
Speaker 3: don't agree with that or whatever. People that are looking
34:40
Speaker 3: for a podcast, whether it's yours or whether it's sports
34:43
Speaker 3: related or food related or whatever, they're going to go
34:45
Speaker 3: out looking for what interests them. So I would imagine
34:48
Speaker 3: you'd get a lot of negative. But it's kind of
34:53
Speaker 3: a it is kind of a different dynamic, I guess,
34:55
Speaker 3: than what radio is. But the last time that you
34:58
Speaker 3: were on the show, we you listened a lot of texts,
35:02
Speaker 3: you know, some some pro and some and some con
35:06
Speaker 3: And I know that you listened to the show daily.
35:09
Speaker 3: Was there anything that you didn't touch on last time
35:11
Speaker 3: you were here that you'd like to touch on today? Well,
35:14
Speaker 3: I mean you stated that America I'm going to very
35:18
Speaker 3: very greatly paraphrase here that it's your belief that America
35:21
Speaker 3: has gotten way way far away from its founding, from
35:25
Speaker 3: its Judeo Christian principles, and you stand by that.
35:28
Speaker 16: Yes, I do.
35:29
Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean again, like I said that, that's not
35:31
Speaker 4: just our country being founded on biblical principles, the Holy Bible,
35:36
Speaker 4: our country being founded on those principles.
35:38
Speaker 16: It's it's not even up for debate.
35:40
Speaker 4: I mean, I guess if people don't read history books,
35:43
Speaker 4: you know, I guess they could come up with their
35:45
Speaker 4: own conclusion. But the fact is the Bible is the
35:48
Speaker 4: foundation of our system. As I said, the founders cited
35:51
Speaker 4: the Bible more than any other writings ever, by far.
35:54
Speaker 4: I mean, it's far in a way, it's not even close.
35:57
Speaker 4: But you know, I mean when I come on show
36:00
Speaker 4: and I talk about these types of things, faith and
36:02
Speaker 4: family and all that, and I get all the negative
36:04
Speaker 4: response that goes just to prove what I was just
36:07
Speaker 4: talking about with my guest Aaron Wren, that we do
36:09
Speaker 4: live in life in the negative world. We do live
36:11
Speaker 4: in a world now where Christianity is not seen as
36:15
Speaker 4: a positive force in the world. Of course, yes, Christians
36:17
Speaker 4: think that it is. And right here in West Virginia,
36:19
Speaker 4: I mean, you know, we are insulated a little bit.
36:22
Speaker 4: You know, a lot of people in West Virginia still
36:24
Speaker 4: revere the Bible, still revere the Christian way of life.
36:29
Speaker 4: But that's it's not like that everywhere else in the country.
36:32
Speaker 4: And you know, when you come on and you start
36:36
Speaker 4: telling things that come from that Christian worldview and you
36:39
Speaker 4: get those negative responses, that's just evidence that we are
36:43
Speaker 4: heading in the wrong direction. You could come on this
36:45
Speaker 4: show and say those same things forty years ago, and
36:48
Speaker 4: it wouldn't even make a headline. Nobody would even think
36:52
Speaker 4: agree with that, yeah, because that would just it'd be
36:54
Speaker 4: like coming on the radio and saying, hey guys, the
36:57
Speaker 4: sky outside is blue, Hey guys, the grass outside is
37:00
Speaker 4: you would just be speaking things that aren't unusual. But
37:03
Speaker 4: now when you come in and you talk about the
37:05
Speaker 4: Christian worldview, it's just a whole different world. And one
37:09
Speaker 4: thing that the podcast is going to help do. H
37:12
Speaker 4: you did ask about if I got any negative response.
37:14
Speaker 4: First of all, let me say the podcast will help
37:17
Speaker 4: people who have that Christian worldview to be able to
37:20
Speaker 4: navigate this negative world better. As far as negative response,
37:25
Speaker 4: I haven't gotten any negative response. Now, I do always
37:27
Speaker 4: say at the end of every program, I say, look,
37:29
Speaker 4: if you like us, you know, follow us, subscribe, if
37:33
Speaker 4: you really like us, give us a review.
37:34
Speaker 16: If you don't like what we're doing, don't listen. Just
37:37
Speaker 16: don't listen. I mean, you know, that's fine.
37:39
Speaker 4: It's a podcast, Like you said, you search these things out.
37:42
Speaker 4: It's not like it's getting crammed down your throat. If
37:44
Speaker 4: you don't like it, just don't listen, you know.
37:46
Speaker 3: And I will follow that up with what you said
37:48
Speaker 3: about living in a negative world. Regardless of your belief system,
37:52
Speaker 3: we do live in a negative world. It's like, we
37:54
Speaker 3: live in a world now where we want to be
37:57
Speaker 3: offended and we want to argue with people, and all
38:01
Speaker 3: you got to do is just go on any social
38:03
Speaker 3: media feed and it's just And I do not think
38:08
Speaker 3: that it's healthy. I mean, I'm not a psychologist or
38:11
Speaker 3: physician or anything like that, but I will say I
38:13
Speaker 3: don't think that it's help I mean I have seen
38:15
Speaker 3: people nearly have strokes and aneurysms by something that they
38:19
Speaker 3: read on Facebook. Keep in mind, before you get all
38:23
Speaker 3: upset about something on Facebook that was probably written by
38:25
Speaker 3: somebody setting on the toilet, keep that in mind. Okay,
38:29
Speaker 3: So let's you know, I mean, I think we need
38:32
Speaker 3: to dial it back a little bit. And okay, scroll on, brother,
38:36
Speaker 3: you know, scroll on. And I'm seeing right now in
38:40
Speaker 3: our world of the world that we live in now,
38:43
Speaker 3: this is and this is I'm going to put this
38:46
Speaker 3: totally on social media. And then we've all seen the meme.
38:49
Speaker 3: And I don't advocate violence many stretch of the imagination,
38:52
Speaker 3: but the meme that says that what Mike Tyson may
38:54
Speaker 3: or may not have said. Nobody knows whether actual said
38:56
Speaker 3: it or not. Social media has made people way too
38:59
Speaker 3: comfortable for saying something not getting punched in the mouth,
39:01
Speaker 3: you know, for it. And I'm very much paraphrasing that,
39:04
Speaker 3: but I think that's kind of where we live. People
39:07
Speaker 3: just live to be offended, and it's just not healthy, man,
39:12
Speaker 3: It's just not healthy in my opinion.
39:14
Speaker 4: Well, I like to comment on that because you bring
39:16
Speaker 4: up social media. I actually talked about this on the podcast,
39:18
Speaker 4: so I have a little thought on this social media thing.
39:21
Speaker 4: So a lot of people will blame the negativity and
39:24
Speaker 4: all this on social media and things of that nature. Twitter, Facebook,
39:30
Speaker 4: all of this, but I actually like to take a
39:32
Speaker 4: step back. I don't think it's social media per se.
39:36
Speaker 16: And I'll tell you why.
39:37
Speaker 4: We had social media way back in the late nineties,
39:41
Speaker 4: in the early two thousands. Okay, we had MySpace. A
39:44
Speaker 4: lot of millennials will remember that. Facebook came out very
39:49
Speaker 4: early two thousands, and then Twitter later on. But we
39:52
Speaker 4: had social media and the negativity wasn't quite there yet.
39:56
Speaker 4: What is the difference. Well, later on in the two
40:00
Speaker 4: thousands was the release of the smartphone, and I think
40:04
Speaker 4: the smartphone is actually the car prit.
40:06
Speaker 16: And here's why.
40:07
Speaker 4: When before when we had when we had social media,
40:09
Speaker 4: before the smartphone, what you would have to do is
40:12
Speaker 4: get off work, go home, dial into your internet connection. Yeah,
40:16
Speaker 4: pull up your social media, look at it, see pictures,
40:19
Speaker 4: say what you want, and then you have to log
40:21
Speaker 4: back off. Now, the immediacy of it, there's so many
40:25
Speaker 4: emotional responses.
40:26
Speaker 16: I've done it myself. I'm guilty of it.
40:28
Speaker 4: If you'll see something, you'll you'll have an emotional response,
40:30
Speaker 4: you'll immediately pull out your phone and you'll just vomit
40:33
Speaker 4: into your social media.
40:35
Speaker 16: I've done it.
40:36
Speaker 3: I'm not And it's available. As I said earlier, I
40:38
Speaker 3: used the example of setting on the toilet, but it's available.
40:41
Speaker 3: And I'll give you a good example of where social
40:43
Speaker 3: media has gone where I think it's gone way too far.
40:47
Speaker 3: Yesterday my wife and I went out for breakfast yesterday morning.
40:50
Speaker 3: We are setting at a local establishment, having having breakfast
40:54
Speaker 3: very early because we're early people, very early yesterday morning,
40:56
Speaker 3: having breakfast across from us. There were three people sitting there.
41:00
Speaker 3: I don't think that they got off their phones the
41:02
Speaker 3: entire time. Here here's the kicker. They were all I
41:05
Speaker 3: would say sixty plus. Oh well, and that group. So
41:08
Speaker 3: this don't don't look at young people and say, you
41:11
Speaker 3: young people in your you know, mommy's daddy's grandparents are
41:14
Speaker 3: just as guilty as well. It's we're not designed to
41:16
Speaker 3: be connected, yeah all the time, and we're not designed
41:18
Speaker 3: to go around being offended by what by by certain connectivity.
41:22
Speaker 16: So to speak.
41:23
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the immediacy of the smartphone. The smartphone is
41:25
Speaker 4: what changed the world. It changed the world on the
41:27
Speaker 4: level of like the model t Ford. That's how uh
41:31
Speaker 4: impactful the smartphone has been. Before, before the smartphone, you
41:34
Speaker 4: would have a time filter, but before you could go
41:37
Speaker 4: on social media and vomit out your stuff.
41:40
Speaker 3: That's I've never really thought about it.
41:41
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the smartphone, that's the culprit. It's not necessarily
41:44
Speaker 4: so everybody wants to blame social media because that's where
41:46
Speaker 4: we see it. But but you got to back up
41:48
Speaker 4: a step and that's where it's at. Hey, I do
41:50
Speaker 4: want to say one thing before we go.
41:52
Speaker 3: Well, you know you've got text waiting here too, right, Oh.
41:54
Speaker 4: Okay, all right, well we can get to the text.
41:56
Speaker 4: I do want to I do want to tell the
41:57
Speaker 4: listeners this, So tomorrow on the podcast to be talking
42:00
Speaker 4: about Israel. Next Tuesday on the podcast, we're going to
42:02
Speaker 4: be talking about assistance suicide in euthanasia. I don't know
42:06
Speaker 4: if West Virginia voters are aware, but on your ballot
42:08
Speaker 4: this November the fifth, there will be an amendment to
42:11
Speaker 4: our constitution that would protect West Virginians against euthanasia. And
42:16
Speaker 4: it's something that conservatives everywhere will support. But we're going
42:21
Speaker 4: to talk about next Tuesday on the podcast. If you
42:23
Speaker 4: point with Tony Hodge, We're going to talk about why
42:27
Speaker 4: we should protect West Virginia's against euthanasian.
42:30
Speaker 3: It's already illegal in West Virginia.
42:32
Speaker 4: It is, Yeah, it is the constitutional part of it.
42:34
Speaker 4: Would bolster, would put wait? Wait, put weight behind that
42:37
Speaker 4: by the people?
42:38
Speaker 16: Is all it is.
42:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, but it'll be on the ballot November.
42:41
Speaker 16: Yeah, it is already illegal.
42:42
Speaker 2: Yes.
42:42
Speaker 3: Let me knock out a couple of texts here, will
42:44
Speaker 3: we let you go? This is for Tony Hodge. Is
42:45
Speaker 3: a texture I suspect my wife has committed adultery? What
42:48
Speaker 3: is the recipe for the tabernacle water described in numbers
42:51
Speaker 3: five seventeen through twenty eight, And how will I know
42:54
Speaker 3: if the water produced a miscarriage and cause my wife's
42:56
Speaker 3: fighs to rot, so that she shall be cursed to
43:00
Speaker 3: her people. Somebody taking something literally there, But do you
43:02
Speaker 3: want to comment on them?
43:03
Speaker 4: Well, I mean I do take a lot of what's
43:05
Speaker 4: in the Bible literally. But one thing I will say
43:07
Speaker 4: is that's you know that Numbers is old covenant. The
43:10
Speaker 4: old covenant has has ceased to exist, as it says
43:12
Speaker 4: in Hebrews, it's it is, it's ceased.
43:16
Speaker 16: We are now under a new covenant.
43:17
Speaker 4: So a lot of a lot of that stuff people
43:20
Speaker 4: pull out of Numbers in Leviticus was literally for an
43:22
Speaker 4: old covenant that Christians, through through the blood of Jesus Christ,
43:26
Speaker 4: no longer have to live under.
43:27
Speaker 16: Thank God, you know, because it would be tough.
43:29
Speaker 3: Thick, says Dave. If it takes you more than fifteen
43:31
Speaker 3: minutes to explain how an idea isn't racist or sexist,
43:34
Speaker 3: your idea may be the problem.
43:37
Speaker 16: Well, I haven't heard any racism or sexism on the
43:40
Speaker 16: show today, So.
43:40
Speaker 3: Tex says Dave. Does he have a deep dive episode
43:43
Speaker 3: on Hitler was actually a decent guy?
43:45
Speaker 4: That Hitler was not a decent guy at all, And people,
43:48
Speaker 4: let me tell you something. People who say that they
43:50
Speaker 4: are and people who platform them. That kind of stuff
43:53
Speaker 4: has got to stop. We can't have revision as history. Look,
43:58
Speaker 4: you know, I'll call I don't care what side you're on,
44:00
Speaker 4: I will call you out. If it goes against the truth,
44:03
Speaker 4: then no, you shouldn't be platformed. We shouldn't be talking
44:06
Speaker 4: about it.
44:06
Speaker 16: Hitler was bad.
44:08
Speaker 4: Churchill did a lot of good things and was allied
44:10
Speaker 4: with the Americans at World War two to stop the
44:13
Speaker 4: Nazi regime. And we did a good thing by doing that.
44:16
Speaker 4: Anybody who comes in and tries to revise the history
44:18
Speaker 4: on that is crazy.
44:20
Speaker 3: Tex says. A new episode this week find folks on
44:23
Speaker 3: both sides. Tex says, oh good, tomorrow's episode can cover
44:26
Speaker 3: the fine points of starred them out of Gaza Nice.
44:29
Speaker 3: This is a texture.
44:30
Speaker 4: Well, you know the Gozzins. We're going to talk about
44:32
Speaker 4: this on the podcast. But the Gozzins came into Israel
44:35
Speaker 4: and not only raped the women, but they mutilated them.
44:40
Speaker 4: They raped them in front of families, they cut off
44:42
Speaker 4: their breasts. There was a lot of things that the
44:44
Speaker 4: Gosins did that is well documented, not in obscure, documented
44:50
Speaker 4: in obscure places, documented by the mainstream media. Go look
44:53
Speaker 4: it up, Go look up the terms I just talked about,
44:55
Speaker 4: and you'll see what really happened over there. Their terrorists
44:58
Speaker 4: came in and and harmed innocent people. And for that,
45:04
Speaker 4: you know, then you start getting into just war theory.
45:06
Speaker 4: Is it just to go in and is it just
45:09
Speaker 4: to go in and stop these homosterists?
45:12
Speaker 16: I believe it is.
45:13
Speaker 3: Tex says America has gotten away from its founding principles.
45:16
Speaker 3: Black people are free and women can vote. We need
45:18
Speaker 3: to get back to the founding principles of this great country.
45:20
Speaker 3: Using Christianity to justify racial and gender superiority.
45:24
Speaker 4: Well, you know, that's you know, a lot of crazy
45:27
Speaker 4: people will use their religion to promote crazy ideas. And
45:31
Speaker 4: the texture is correct. Although he's trying to be snid
45:34
Speaker 4: towards me, he is correct. He well true, but it
45:39
Speaker 4: is true that some Christians try to use the religion
45:43
Speaker 4: to promote slavery and things like this, which is ridiculous.
45:46
Speaker 16: We look back at that, we come on, it is
45:48
Speaker 16: absolutely ridiculous and things like that.
45:50
Speaker 4: Like I said, anything that goes against the truth should
45:52
Speaker 4: be called out, and that's ridiculous.
45:53
Speaker 16: But he has no standing. Obviously he's just trying to
45:57
Speaker 16: fool with me.
45:58
Speaker 3: Tex says, biggest victim complex out there is from Christians.
46:02
Speaker 3: Their existence is wrought with persecution, says a Texture.
46:06
Speaker 4: I will say, we don't have a lot of persecution
46:08
Speaker 4: in the United States. And the way you would define
46:11
Speaker 4: persecution as actually physical you know where your your livelihood
46:15
Speaker 4: is threatened. We don't have a lot of that in
46:18
Speaker 4: the United States. But Christianity is seen as a negative
46:21
Speaker 4: now in this country, and we need to reverse that.
46:22
Speaker 3: Final text here says Tony doesn't want revision is history ironic.
46:26
Speaker 3: His entire history of the US and Christianity is revisionists.
46:30
Speaker 16: Prove it, prove it. Let's go, let's come on the show.
46:34
Speaker 16: Let's prove it all right.
46:34
Speaker 3: I don't know who this person is, but person.

Speaker 16: Have them call in, Call in right, call in right.

50:59
Speaker 3: says called out Tucker Carlson and didn't play. I'll call
51:02
Speaker 3: out Tucker Carlson. He's complete moron, uh Texas, fine folks
51:06
Speaker 3: on both sides. Was debunked by snoops. By the way,
51:09
Speaker 3: Biden said the same thing about the pro Hamas bunch too,
51:14
Speaker 3: says a texture Texas says, Tony doesn't want revision his history.
51:17
Speaker 3: Ironic his entire history. I already read that one. Sorry, sorry,
51:20
Speaker 3: my fault. Too many texts here, text says Davis. Is
51:23
Speaker 3: another case of conservatives saying we need a constitutional amendment
51:27
Speaker 3: to make something that is illegal more illegal, sort of redundant,
51:30
Speaker 3: isn't it. That is a reference to Again, I'm going
51:33
Speaker 3: to get into this a little bit later on. When
51:35
Speaker 3: voters go to the polls in November, they are going
51:37
Speaker 3: to be looking at a constitutional amendment having to do
51:40
Speaker 3: with physician assisted suicide in West Virginia, and a lot
51:43
Speaker 3: of people have said, well, it's already illegal, but they
51:46
Speaker 3: want to kind of bring the constitutional aspect in of it.
51:48
Speaker 18: Again.
51:49
Speaker 3: I'll have more on that as we get closer to
51:51
Speaker 3: the election. Text says the children of Gaza are innocent,
51:54
Speaker 3: and you support bombing them, says a texture. Tony says
51:58
Speaker 3: a text. Not everybody can go on the radio and
52:00
Speaker 3: vomit out their opinions like you do. Uh Texas. Tony's
52:05
Speaker 3: offended that everybody doesn't believe as he does. He needs
52:08
Speaker 3: to accept he's human and no better or worse than
52:11
Speaker 3: the rest of it. All Right, we gotta go. Thank
52:13
Speaker 3: you so much for everybody for tuning in today. Hey,
