- 0:01SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome to the Reborn Podcast, where we delve deep into personal and spiritual development, explore the dynamics of entrepreneurship, and unlock the secrets of effective leadership.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Tony Brutos, and I'm thrilled to have you with us today.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: In this episode, we're going to explore a profound topic that touches this core of our spiritual and personal lives, understanding God's will versus our own ambitions.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: We'll discuss how faith plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between the vision we receive from God and the uncertain steps we must take to fulfill it.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Join me as we embark on a journey of faith, self-discovery, and divine alignment.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Let's begin by discussing the concept of God's will.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Many of us have felt moments of clarity where we see a vision of who we could become, successful, fulfilled, and impactful.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: But often the path to achieving that vision is anything but clear.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: God's will often manifests as a powerful vision, a sense of calling or purpose that resonates deeply within us.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: It's like seeing a mountain peak in a distance, but having no map to guide us there.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: The vision is a source of inspiration and a reminder of what's possible when we align our efforts with our faith.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: While the vision may be unclear, I'm sorry, while the vision may be clear, the steps to reach it are often shrouded in mystery.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: This is where faith comes in.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: We must trust that each step we take, even if it feels small or insignificant, is part of a greater plan.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: The trust requires us to relinquish control and embrace the uncertainty with a sense of adventure and faith.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Faith is the cornerstone of any journey where the path is unclear.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: It's what allows us to move forward despite not knowing the details of how we will get from where we are to where we want to be.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: This is the bridge between vision and reality.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Trust in the process.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Trust in the process means believing that each experience, whether success or failure, is a stepping stone towards our ultimate destination.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: This requires patience and the willingness to keep forward, even when progress feels slow.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Now I want to touch on that last part of that sentence, even when progress feels slow.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: Because here's the thing: progress and feeling slow is very, very subjective.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: I could say I'm moving slow in my business because I'm not making a million dollars a month yet.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Or I could say I'm moving very, very quickly because I'm scaling near to the point where we're making six figures a month in the first six months of the business.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Now, uh depending on what your mindset, your perspective is, that could be feel slow or that could feel super quick.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Uh, and so I think trusting the process again means believing at each experience whether success or failure is a stepping stone towards our ultimate destination.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: And if I'm not making six figures I'm not a month, I'm not gonna make multiple six figures a month.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: If I'm not making multiple six figures, I'm not gonna make seven, I'm not gonna make eight, I'm not gonna make nine and ten, and and so on.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: And so even when progress feels slow, keep going and trust in the process.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Now, another thing is faith and action.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Faith is not passive, it's active and dynamic.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: It causes to take steps, make decisions, and keep pushing forward by taking action rooted in faith.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: We signal our commitment to the vision God has placed in our hearts.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Just faith and action builds resilience and fortitude, enabling us to navigate challenges with grace.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Because a lot of people think faith is, man, I'm gonna I'm gonna pray, and this is just this is gonna happen for me.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna, I'm gonna I'm gonna have a faith in God, and and and that's it.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna get I'm gonna get everything.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna have to do anything.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: But but we know that faith without works isn't dead.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: So faith in action goes resilience and fortitude, enabling us to navigate challenges with grace, integrating God's will with personal ambition.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Now, let's discuss how we can align our personal ambitions with God's will, ensuring that our journey is both purposeful and fulfilling.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Now, the first way to do this is seek guidance regularly, seek guidance, God's guidance through prayer and meditation, asking for clarity and strength to follow his will, ask for discernment, ask for uh what what is your will, oh Lord?
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: What is what what what do you want me to do, Lord?
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: And once you do that, once you regularly seek God's guidance through prayer, meditation, reading the word, and engaging in community, then you will align your personal ambitions with God's will.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: The second way to do that is stay open, remain open to new opportunities and unexpected paths that may arise.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Often the route to our vision takes unexpected turns.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: Now, uh, for me, what I found is the best things in my life have uh you can either say have happened on accident, or you can say if it happened by God's will and not my own.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: For example, the business I'm currently in is I'm a real estate investor uh here in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: And I got into real estate on accident because I was uh I was between do I want to take this sales job with a with a uh decent sized base?
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: It was like a$40,000 base uh plus commission, or do I want to take this job that has no base uh and it is only commission?
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Being a young buck, I ended up taking uh the uh the no commission, or I'm sorry, the no the no base job, and uh it didn't end up working out how I expected it to, but now I have a thriving real estate business um because of that, because I took that dive.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Uh, and so the third way is to reflect and adjust, periodically reflect on your journey, assessing whether your actions align with the vision and values you hold dear.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Adjust as needed to ensure that both yourself, your personal, and your spiritual goals.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: The fourth way is community support.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Surround yourself with a community of like-minded individuals who can provide support, encouragement, and accountability as you pursue your vision.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Now, the important thing about uh community support is being in a community of people who ideally have done what you want to do.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: You want to have three types of people in your life.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: You want to have people that are ahead of you, people who have done what you want to do, people who are on the same path as you or similar aligned path.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: You make each other better, uh, but you're on the same level of life.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Maybe you're both uh seeking a wife, you're both single, maybe you're both uh you know between a million to five million in your business and you're looking to get to ten million.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Uh maybe you are uh being called into ministry, but you're you're doing you know smaller things, like you're being uh uh serving in some different smaller ministries rather than being like a lead pastor, and but you're both doing the same thing, and that the the the third type of person you want to have is someone who you can uh mentor in a sense, because actually the best way to learn is to teach.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: And that's how you uh remember things the best, as well as by teaching what you have learned.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: Uh and and I don't know about you, uh, but I personally I also find a lot of fulfillment in it, which keeps me motivated to be able to have these younger men uh and even some women around me that I'm able to speak into and and help them become the men they want to be, or the men that God wants them to be.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: And so community support is invaluable, invaluable.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: And I know some people are gonna say, oh man, I don't have time to be in a community, I don't have time to be in a network.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: Once you find your network, once you find your community, you're gonna tell me the exact opposite.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: I don't have time to not be in a community.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: Because uh tangibly, if we're talking on a business level, uh if we're talking on a mental health level, it has helped my mental health uh be much stronger.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: It's helped my business grow, it has helped my uh faith grow and so on.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: And uh, and so with that said, let's move on to some questions from our listeners.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Uh, how do you stay committed to God's will when your personal ambitions seem to take over?
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: Now, this can be a big one uh for those who are called to leadership, entrepreneurship, and so on.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: And so that's a fantastic question.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Saying committed uh requires regular self-check-ins and prayer.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: I often remind myself that God's plan is greater than my own, and that true fulfillment comes from alighting my actions with his will, not my own will.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: Uh, and I did a sermon a couple weeks ago.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: I said, let's not focus on my will.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Let's not focus on uh my family's will, let's not focus on definitely not social media or CNN or NBC or let's focus on his will and align my or align our actions with his will.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: So keeping this perspective has helped me stay grounded and focus on a bigger picture.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Now, uh, second question is what do you do when the vision feels out of reach?
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: What uh when the vision feels distanced, what I do is I focus on the next right step rather than the entire journey.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: I trust that each step, no matter how small, brings me closer to the vision.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: I also remind myself that growth often occurs in the challenges, not just the successes.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Now, I don't know about you, but when I think about the times where I've grown the most, the quickest, most of those times have not occurred from success, that they've occurred from challenges.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: And successes are a result of pusher uh pushing and persevering through the challenges.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: And so uh embrace the challenge.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Don't shy away from it and focus on the next right step.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Because if you focus on the vision, that will be unmotivating, that will be demotivating, if anything.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: That'll make you feel overwhelmed.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: And man, I am here at at level C, how am I gonna get to level Z?
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: But instead of doing level C to Z, let's say level C, okay, here's C1, C2, C3.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: How do I get from C1 to C2?
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Okay, now how do I get to C2 to C3?
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Now how do I get to D?
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not looking at how do I get to Z this very moment.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: Although I know I'm gonna get there if I can get to D and E and F.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: So with that said, thank you for joining us on this episode of the Reborn Podcast.
