- 0:00Speaker 1: I want to start us off a little differently today.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Jess Utah people working together.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Utah.
- 0:08Speaker 2: What a great place, Stupie, you can go, but there's
- 0:13Speaker 2: none that compare.
- 0:15Speaker 1: This is the place, by.
- 0:23Speaker 2: The way, welcome back and give them all a podcast.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I'm for Rush out of Salt Lake City, Utah. And
- 0:28Speaker 2: I had to bust into song because I will say, Utah.
- 0:35Speaker 1: This is the place. I fucking agree.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Wait, what is that? Is that the state song or something?
- 0:41Speaker 3: Where is that from?
- 0:43Speaker 2: It's a song that all the elementary schools would perform. Okay,
- 0:46Speaker 2: school we would sing a bunch of songs about just
- 0:49Speaker 2: like Utah heritage, yeah, how the state came to be.
- 0:53Speaker 2: But we performed that one first and then there were
- 0:56Speaker 2: a bunch of other songs and then we would end
- 0:57Speaker 2: on that song.
- 0:58Speaker 1: And I'm telling you it was the jam for me.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Like I was like, this is the goat. This song
- 1:05Speaker 1: hits different.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Getting down to the state song, yeah or whatever it is,
- 1:10Speaker 3: that's hilarious.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12Speaker 3: So there's that, Okay, amazing. So I went to Utah
- 1:15Speaker 3: on Friday.
- 1:18Speaker 2: We got back, well today this will air on Wednesday,
- 1:21Speaker 2: but we got back last night, Monday night. And there's
- 1:26Speaker 2: something that Utah does to my soul. I didn't appreciate
- 1:29Speaker 2: Utah until I left. Then I was like, wow, I
- 1:34Speaker 2: really just like was raised in a great place. Yeah,
- 1:37Speaker 2: you know, and I wasn't raised Mormon. There's a lot
- 1:39Speaker 2: of Mormons out there. Which, by the way, if you
- 1:42Speaker 2: guys haven't started watching Under the Banner of Heaven, you
- 1:45Speaker 2: are fucking up.
- 1:47Speaker 3: I haven't watched it yet, but Kyle has been watching it.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Loves it. I've asked you to watch.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I know I need to watch. I was catching up
- 1:54Speaker 3: on Ozark last night. Is it that's a great one?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Is it dark? Am I gonna be sad after watching it?
- 2:00Speaker 1: You're going to be sad?
- 2:02Speaker 2: In the first episode, it's it's a it's gut wrenching,
- 2:05Speaker 2: like so sad, but you're more it's more of like
- 2:08Speaker 2: a shock.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Okay, that's I like that.
- 2:11Speaker 2: And they deep dive into how the Mormon Church was created.
- 2:16Speaker 2: And you know, I'm not going to say a lot about.
- 2:19Speaker 1: It, but I will say scary. It's very scary.
- 2:25Speaker 3: That's next on my list.
- 2:26Speaker 1: So scary.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Oh no, see, I might have not I might have
- 2:30Speaker 3: to watch it in the morning on the weekends because
- 2:33Speaker 3: they might have nightmares.
- 2:35Speaker 2: It does mess with you when I watch it late
- 2:38Speaker 2: at night, Like there was one night, like a couple
- 2:41Speaker 2: of weeks ago, I had watched the first episode. I
- 2:45Speaker 2: woke up in the middle of the night. I had
- 2:47Speaker 2: this burning sensation in me. I was I ripped my
- 2:50Speaker 2: eyemask off. I felt like the devil was in the room.
- 2:52Speaker 2: And I kid you not, and I'm not religious. I'm
- 2:54Speaker 2: more spiritual, but I believe in God, that's my higher power.
- 2:57Speaker 2: And I was like, God, you need to fight off
- 3:01Speaker 2: whatever energy is in this room right now because it's scary.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Freaks me out. Thanks giving me anxiety. Okay, you guys,
- 3:08Speaker 3: So just a precursor, Lala told me. She said, oh,
- 3:12Speaker 3: do I have some things to talk about, some topics
- 3:15Speaker 3: to talk about with you today. But she didn't tell
- 3:18Speaker 3: me any of them. Oh so we're finding them all
- 3:21Speaker 3: out together.
- 3:22Speaker 1: All right.
- 3:22Speaker 2: First, let me tell you this, and I pray Cheryl,
- 3:25Speaker 2: my sister in law, or Brandon, my brother, if you're
- 3:28Speaker 2: listening to this podcast and the kids are in the car,
- 3:31Speaker 2: or at least London, you need to.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Stop it right now. Stop the podcast, turn it off.
- 3:37Speaker 2: So this is anyone for any kids, or just let
- 3:39Speaker 2: anybody's kids who who still has beliefs in certain things
- 3:44Speaker 2: when Christmas time comes around.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Stop the podcast.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Okay, So we're sitting at brunch with my brother's sister
- 3:52Speaker 2: in law and his kids, and we're talking about aliens
- 3:56Speaker 2: and my nephew, who's like thirteen, he like doesn't believe
- 3:58Speaker 2: in them.
- 3:59Speaker 3: And I was shook, like you're telling me that we're.
- 4:02Speaker 1: The only living things. Like I was just like shook,
- 4:05Speaker 1: and I was like, I believe in aliens.
- 4:06Speaker 2: And my niece says I do too, and I sit
- 4:09Speaker 2: back and I was like, but I but I also
- 4:11Speaker 2: believe that Santa Claus is still real and she goes.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Well, so do I are you saying that he's not?
- 4:17Speaker 3: Oh no?
- 4:18Speaker 2: And my mind every when I said that, the whole table,
- 4:22Speaker 2: every adult just stop dead stare at me, like, how
- 4:26Speaker 2: the fuck are you gonna reel this one in?
- 4:28Speaker 1: Oh no, so my mind you should. I was like, compute, compute.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I wish I could in the world trying to put
- 4:34Speaker 2: pieces together, and I did in a matter of seconds.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I was like, no, he he's real.
- 4:39Speaker 2: But what people think is that Santa's the one that
- 4:42Speaker 2: watches us year round, and I don't believe that. I
- 4:45Speaker 2: believe he stays in the North Pole and makes toys,
- 4:47Speaker 2: and I believe the elves are the ones that are
- 4:49Speaker 2: watching us year round.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Oh my god, that just like it gave me anxiety
- 4:55Speaker 3: when you told me so. Wait did she believe that?
- 4:57Speaker 1: Did she buy it? Yeah?
- 4:58Speaker 2: She was like, no, I know that because our elf
- 5:01Speaker 2: watches us.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Picky.
- 5:05Speaker 3: How old is she She's nine? Oh yeah, give her
- 5:08Speaker 3: a few more years.
- 5:09Speaker 2: My Mormon grandma is the one that broke it to
- 5:11Speaker 2: me that Santa wasn't real. Wait, because I walked up
- 5:14Speaker 2: because kids at school.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I was in the third grade, and I was like, Grandma,
- 5:17Speaker 3: is Santa Claus real?
- 5:19Speaker 1: She goes, I'm gonna be honest with you, Lauren, No,
- 5:22Speaker 1: he's not real. My dad was pissed.
- 5:27Speaker 3: He was.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I remember walking outside of her like cute little Mormon
- 5:31Speaker 2: looking home, and it was like a winter evening where
- 5:34Speaker 2: this sky gets like.
- 5:35Speaker 1: A really pretty like nave, like light navy, if that
- 5:39Speaker 1: makes sense.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yes, snow everywhere, and I was just so defeated, sad. Yes.
- 5:46Speaker 3: See, that's the difference between us as kids. Because my
- 5:48Speaker 3: parents told me. I asked them, I said, Santa Reel
- 5:51Speaker 3: I was probably like eleven. Wait, a little too old.
- 5:54Speaker 3: He said, is Santa Reel? And they said no, he's not.
- 5:56Speaker 3: And then I said okay, and I turned around and
- 5:58Speaker 3: I said, what the fuck? Did they know he's real? Right?
- 6:00Speaker 3: And they're just insane?
- 6:02Speaker 1: I do believe he's real.
- 6:03Speaker 3: He is. I don't care what anyone says, like.
- 6:09Speaker 1: He flies in a sleigh.
- 6:11Speaker 3: All, well, great, save great. I wish I could have
- 6:15Speaker 3: seen your face when she asked you that, mom.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah, when I almost outed Santa Claus not being real
- 6:21Speaker 2: to London, what was your reaction? I was looking at you.
- 6:29Speaker 1: No, it was so terrifying.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Did she say? Did she save it?
- 6:34Speaker 1: Well?
- 6:34Speaker 3: Lisa? Like, do you think London bought her?
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:40Speaker 2: The entire table was like.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I did.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And then I went into like, you want to know
- 6:49Speaker 2: how I know he's real because when La La was
- 6:53Speaker 2: sneaking into Gigi and Poppy's room one night on Christmas Eve,
- 6:57Speaker 2: I looked down and I saw his twinkling eyes.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Going ready to go up the chimney. You said that, yes,
- 7:03Speaker 1: because I did. I did see that.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and all the things.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Had she been older, Had she been older, she would
- 7:13Speaker 2: have been like, these motherfuckers are trying now.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Dogs protest too much, y'all they're doing too much.
- 7:21Speaker 2: So the next thing, I have some topics that I
- 7:24Speaker 2: learned about in Utah be high state.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Okay, Jess, have you ever heard of furrize?
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, we need to talk about this.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Wait, let's meet. Let's see if we've heard of the
- 7:34Speaker 3: same things, because you remember we mentioned.
- 7:36Speaker 1: It on tour.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, I learned about freeze in the school system.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Now, wait, you're scaring me, are you this? Because furries
- 7:43Speaker 3: to me when I think of it, that's something sexual.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Okay, in the school system. So my best friend from
- 7:49Speaker 2: back home, her kids go to school in Utah. They
- 7:52Speaker 2: now and this is like a real thing. You cannot
- 7:57Speaker 2: discriminate against someone who who identifies.
- 8:00Speaker 1: As an animal.
- 8:01Speaker 2: They'll wear ears, they'll wear a tail. Teachers are now
- 8:05Speaker 2: putting bowls in the classroom for them to drink out
- 8:09Speaker 2: of and eat out of like animals. When they're asked questions,
- 8:13Speaker 2: they can meow or bark or moo or whatever they identify.
- 8:17Speaker 2: And then my friend also said, she said, I don't
- 8:20Speaker 2: know if this is true or not, but they're going
- 8:23Speaker 2: to start putting litter boxes in the bathrooms because you
- 8:27Speaker 2: must not discriminate against the children who are identifying as furries.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Okay, are you sure, because like you tell me that
- 8:38Speaker 3: and I'm like, you've got the wrong information.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Well that's why I want to talk about it, because
- 8:43Speaker 2: it comes from a pretty reliable source. And it comes
- 8:48Speaker 2: from one of my dearest friends. Her name's Olivia, and
- 8:52Speaker 2: she does this girl's hair who's like thirteen, and she
- 8:56Speaker 2: goes to school. And this is what this girl has
- 8:59Speaker 2: told Olivia. Okay, Like this girl, she's thirteen. I don't
- 9:03Speaker 2: know her name, but I want to get her on
- 9:04Speaker 2: the podcast.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Yeah, she said, I pretend to be a furry sometimes,
- 9:07Speaker 1: like I'll bark at people in the hall. I'm like,
- 9:10Speaker 1: this girl's dope.
- 9:12Speaker 2: But I need someone to shed some light because I'm
- 9:15Speaker 2: a liberated woman. Okay, I am like you do you
- 9:22Speaker 2: boo this I just cannot comprehend, like not having to
- 9:27Speaker 2: take tests because you identify as an animal, so and
- 9:31Speaker 2: animals don't take tests.
- 9:34Speaker 3: There's no Okay, there's no And I'm not doubting you.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I believe it's like I'm sure some school systems do this. Yeah,
- 9:44Speaker 3: but to me, I'm like, there's no way because I'm
- 9:47Speaker 3: just like you. I'm like liberated. I think if you
- 9:51Speaker 3: feel you were born whatever. If you're a certain age
- 9:54Speaker 3: and you feel you were born hey, I feel like
- 9:57Speaker 3: I identify more as a woman or a man, or
- 9:59Speaker 3: a boy or a girl. You know, talk to your parents,
- 10:03Speaker 3: binary any of that. Talk you know, do have those conversations,
- 10:08Speaker 3: talk to your parents, talk to your teachers, do all that.
- 10:10Speaker 3: But I feel like when you get into the animal
- 10:15Speaker 3: of it all, then it's really taking It's like taking
- 10:20Speaker 3: the what am I trying to say, It's taking the
- 10:24Speaker 3: not severity, but it's lessening the importance of that. I
- 10:29Speaker 3: feel like as a little boy or a little girl, Hey,
- 10:32Speaker 3: I feel this way. I feel like a girl or
- 10:34Speaker 3: a boy. I feel like I was born in the
- 10:37Speaker 3: wrong body, as the wrong gender, any of that. But
- 10:39Speaker 3: I feel like it's lessening that when it's like, well,
- 10:42Speaker 3: I well, then I feel like I was born a cat. Well,
- 10:45Speaker 3: I feel like I was born at whatever. I'm just
- 10:47Speaker 3: like it to me, it lessens that. Does that make
- 10:50Speaker 3: any sense?
- 10:51Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 10:51Speaker 2: Well, I feel like I because and here's the thing,
- 10:55Speaker 2: I have a lot of opinions about this. Yeah, I
- 10:58Speaker 2: don't want to offend anybody, right, So I would like
- 11:01Speaker 2: someone to maybe shed some light. If you are a
- 11:04Speaker 2: furry listening to the podcast, Yeah, which if you are,
- 11:09Speaker 2: I need to know because right now I have a
- 11:12Speaker 2: whole lot of shit going on in my mind. However,
- 11:16Speaker 2: my daughter, my daughter puts her food on the ground
- 11:21Speaker 2: and eats it up like a dog, right because she
- 11:24Speaker 2: watches the dogs eating and she thinks that's how she
- 11:27Speaker 2: is supposed to eat. And I have to tell her
- 11:29Speaker 2: we can't eat off the ground like that. And I'm like,
- 11:33Speaker 2: oh my gosh, do I have a furry well?
- 11:37Speaker 3: Like, also, did we forget about?
- 11:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:39Speaker 3: Do you know how many times I drink water from
- 11:42Speaker 3: a bowl on the ground and ate food from a
- 11:44Speaker 3: bowl because pretend when I was a kid, When I
- 11:47Speaker 3: was a kid, you guys, I have to meet that there,
- 11:50Speaker 3: just like last week when I walk into the office,
- 11:53Speaker 3: like it's called playing pretend. The amount of times I
- 11:56Speaker 3: dressed up as like an old man, as a little
- 11:58Speaker 3: girl or whatever is like an an animal or like
- 12:01Speaker 3: pretended I was a frog. And to me, there's something
- 12:04Speaker 3: about it's so important to play and play for ten
- 12:07Speaker 3: as a kid, that's so important and to get outside
- 12:09Speaker 3: and to be like I'm a dog in this. But
- 12:11Speaker 3: I just don't know how I feel. I need to
- 12:13Speaker 3: process my feelings. I mean, my immediate feelings are like,
- 12:17Speaker 3: not the fuck. I'm just gonna be honest. My immediate
- 12:19Speaker 3: feelings are like, no, you're not. We need to teach
- 12:23Speaker 3: children the importance of knowing the difference between an animal
- 12:28Speaker 3: and a human.
- 12:30Speaker 2: By the way, you can't half acid, all right, If
- 12:34Speaker 2: you're gonna identify as a furry, then when we go
- 12:37Speaker 2: in the airplane, you need to get in your crate
- 12:40Speaker 2: and you have to stay under the seat until the
- 12:43Speaker 2: plane is thirty thousand feet in the air, where then
- 12:46Speaker 2: the pilot comes on and says you can turn on
- 12:48Speaker 2: electronics and you can hold your dog.
- 12:50Speaker 3: You okay, and then I will take you out of
- 12:53Speaker 3: the crate. But what do you think about because furry
- 12:56Speaker 3: to me has always been the I've heard of, Like
- 13:00Speaker 3: there's a sexual component of being a furry, which is
- 13:04Speaker 3: you wear these like mascot, full on mascot costumes and
- 13:07Speaker 3: you go to these quote unquote furry parties and it's
- 13:10Speaker 3: just like rubbing on each other. No one ever takes
- 13:12Speaker 3: off their mask or their costume, but it's like an
- 13:15Speaker 3: orgy with this full on mascot costume on. So to me,
- 13:22Speaker 3: that is like if all the adults are consenting and
- 13:25Speaker 3: you know what you're walking into, and you want to
- 13:27Speaker 3: dress up, you do your you do the damn for.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I agree with you.
- 13:32Speaker 3: But that's very different.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:33Speaker 2: So if you know anything about furries or what I'm
- 13:36Speaker 2: talking about, and if what I was told is in
- 13:38Speaker 2: fact true that they're putting these dog or not dog
- 13:41Speaker 2: but animal bowls in classrooms and litter boxes in the bathroom, like,
- 13:45Speaker 2: please open my mind, because I'm a girl who is
- 13:49Speaker 2: open to it all. I can get down with things.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Just make me understand. I don't know that I'll ever
- 13:55Speaker 2: understand this, but this leads me. When you say sexual
- 13:58Speaker 2: this leads me to the next thing that I want
- 14:01Speaker 2: to talk about in school systems.
- 14:03Speaker 1: All right?
- 14:04Speaker 3: Oh god? So this is on Utah Parents United.
- 14:11Speaker 1: It's an Instagram page.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Okay, this is called My Body is Growing, a guide
- 14:17Speaker 2: for children ages four to eight years old.
- 14:22Speaker 1: It makes me sick. This is in the book. Okay.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Sabrina's vagina becomes moist and warm and Marco's penis gets
- 14:31Speaker 2: very still. Marco then pushes his penis into Sabrina's vagina,
- 14:35Speaker 2: always in and out. That feels great for both of them.
- 14:38Speaker 2: When the feeling is nicest Marco's penis sprays semen into
- 14:43Speaker 2: Sabrina's vagina. Okay, this is in a book that was
- 14:48Speaker 2: in a library a school in Utah, a library for
- 14:54Speaker 2: a guide for four to eight years old.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Okay, oh my god, I'm.
- 15:00Speaker 1: As open as it gets. Yea right, let's talk about
- 15:02Speaker 1: it all. I'll tell you one thing.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I drop my kid off to school, who's four, five, six, seven, eight,
- 15:09Speaker 2: and Ocean picks this book up and reads it. You
- 15:13Speaker 2: are going to regret the day that you were fucking
- 15:17Speaker 2: born and allowed this book inside of that fucking school,
- 15:20Speaker 2: because I will.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Raise hell and guys, just so you know. So I'm
- 15:25Speaker 3: looking at this. It's Utah Parents United, because Lalla just
- 15:28Speaker 3: handed it over to me. It's the book is called,
- 15:30Speaker 3: like she said, my body is growing, a guide for
- 15:32Speaker 3: four to eight year olds. And it's like a cartoon.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Like this isn't a medical book, not that it matters,
- 15:38Speaker 3: because this is a guide for four to eight year old,
- 15:41Speaker 3: So already what this is a literal like it's a cartoon.
- 15:46Speaker 3: On the this looks like a children's book. If I
- 15:48Speaker 3: were a kid, I would be drawn to pick this up. Yes,
- 15:51Speaker 3: because it's a boy and a girl in the front
- 15:54Speaker 3: and then when you scroll over, if you go to
- 15:56Speaker 3: their the Instagram page, you'll see the part that La
- 15:59Speaker 3: La just read about Saverina's vagina becomes it's a animated
- 16:04Speaker 3: photo of two as a guy and a girl having sex,
- 16:11Speaker 3: and there's a like you can't see boobs or vagina
- 16:15Speaker 3: or penis, but you can see them on top of
- 16:16Speaker 3: each other. And there's a little teddy bear on the pillow,
- 16:20Speaker 3: almost like showing that they're younger I'm not gonna say kids,
- 16:24Speaker 3: but like showing that they maybe aren't full adults. So
- 16:28Speaker 3: my only thing is like, it's not just it doesn't
- 16:31Speaker 3: look like a medical book. That's like here parents targeted
- 16:34Speaker 3: at parents to talk to their older children, I mean
- 16:38Speaker 3: four to eight years old as wild. But no, it's
- 16:41Speaker 3: like you just have to go to see it because
- 16:44Speaker 3: it's a totally different vibe. You hear it, and then
- 16:46Speaker 3: you look at how the book is drawn and designed
- 16:49Speaker 3: and it looks like a kid's book, and I think
- 16:51Speaker 3: that is crazy. I think it's one thing as a
- 16:54Speaker 3: parent if you choose to say yes, if my kid
- 16:56Speaker 3: ever asks when they're however, hey mom, dad, what's said?
- 17:00Speaker 3: You have the freedom and the right to tell them
- 17:03Speaker 3: however you want. But the fact that that's just on
- 17:07Speaker 3: the shelf of an elementary school in a library, willy
- 17:10Speaker 3: nilly for a five year old to just pick up
- 17:12Speaker 3: and read, I don't know, that's wild to me.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Well, it was written and illustrated by Dagmar Geisler. Dagmar's
- 17:20Speaker 2: shame on you for writing a book like this for
- 17:23Speaker 2: a four to eight years of age.
- 17:25Speaker 3: And that was tell me again, is that in a library?
- 17:27Speaker 1: It was in a Yes.
- 17:28Speaker 2: So basically, Utah Parents United is parents who get together
- 17:34Speaker 2: and they share what their children are exposed to in schools. Yes,
- 17:37Speaker 2: And I think that that is completely inappropriate for the
- 17:41Speaker 2: ages four to eight.
- 17:42Speaker 3: They don't need to know about sex at that age.
- 17:46Speaker 3: And if here's my question, though, because I think that
- 17:49Speaker 3: absolutely inappropriate that book put there without I mean, the illustration,
- 17:55Speaker 3: the fact that it looks like a children's book. Do
- 17:57Speaker 3: you think though, because this is an I think to
- 18:01Speaker 3: make clear how you feel, if there's a five whatever,
- 18:04Speaker 3: four or five six year old who comes up to
- 18:06Speaker 3: their mom and dad in the home and says, mom
- 18:08Speaker 3: and dad, I heard someone say sex. What sex? Do
- 18:11Speaker 3: you think it's appropriate if they want.
- 18:12Speaker 2: To tell and you have the conversation, okay, for your
- 18:15Speaker 2: kid to be at school at a library and they
- 18:18Speaker 2: just happen to pick this book up and they start reading. Yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 2: I don't like that. And you know me, Jess, and
- 18:26Speaker 2: I am so open open. Yeah, let's talk about sex
- 18:30Speaker 2: all day long. Let's talk about blow jobs. We have
- 18:34Speaker 2: to protect the youth because if they're exposed to too
- 18:38Speaker 2: much too young, as they get older, things go astray
- 18:44Speaker 2: and unhealthy habits and addictions start happening.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Again.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I have trauma from what I've experienced the last however
- 18:55Speaker 2: many months. Very protective of ocean. I'm very protective of
- 18:59Speaker 2: the youth and how much you know, we just can't.
- 19:06Speaker 2: We can't expose them to too much too young.
- 19:08Speaker 3: I get that, and I have to protect and I
- 19:10Speaker 3: think there's also a time and a place, especially when
- 19:12Speaker 3: they're that young, and the time in the place, and
- 19:15Speaker 3: if they don't let's say it's a child who doesn't
- 19:17Speaker 3: have a parent and they want to ask that question,
- 19:20Speaker 3: then they go to a guardian or they ask a teacher,
- 19:22Speaker 3: and then in my belief, it's one hundred percent the
- 19:25Speaker 3: teacher's responsibility to go to the guardian and say this
- 19:29Speaker 3: child asked about this, Is this something you would like
- 19:31Speaker 3: to talk about if you would like me to talk
- 19:33Speaker 3: to them about it? What do you want me to say?
- 19:36Speaker 2: Right?
- 19:36Speaker 3: Not in a book that looks like a cartoon book
- 19:40Speaker 3: that any kid would want to pick up. And also
- 19:42Speaker 3: the fact that it's like this feels great again, this
- 19:47Speaker 3: is just me. But when I'm a mother, if I've
- 19:49Speaker 3: always thought when I'm a mother, I'm gonna use penis vagina,
- 19:52Speaker 3: I'm just gonna use the words yeah, but I don't.
- 19:57Speaker 3: I don't think if they're that young. And let's say
- 19:59Speaker 3: my f year old comes to me and says, what sex,
- 20:02Speaker 3: I'm not gonna sit there. I'm gonna tell them strictly
- 20:04Speaker 3: scientifically one hundred. I'm gonna use statements like like christ
- 20:09Speaker 3: and Balandack Sheppard do this. I heard this on Dax's podcast.
- 20:12Speaker 3: But I'm gonna use statements like the woman places the
- 20:15Speaker 3: man's penis into her vagina, because to me, it feels
- 20:17Speaker 3: like that's showing without saying, without doing too much. When
- 20:21Speaker 3: they're so young, that's showing like a consent, that showing
- 20:24Speaker 3: the woman has control. Almost right, But I'm not gonna
- 20:27Speaker 3: go and then she like at five years old, and
- 20:30Speaker 3: then she gets wet and it feels great.
- 20:32Speaker 2: What no, and his penis sprays, spreaming into her vagina.
- 20:38Speaker 2: And then in that illustration on that page on the
- 20:42Speaker 2: side shows birth control all the ways that you prevent pregnancy.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Okay, so it shows and also the man sprays the
- 20:52Speaker 3: semen into the vagina, so there's no condom, Like, what
- 20:56Speaker 3: do you even? That's a lot that does make me
- 21:00Speaker 3: a little queasy. And how old is.
- 21:02Speaker 2: This book by the way, because they're showing all of
- 21:06Speaker 2: the ways a woman can prevent but there's no condom here.
- 21:11Speaker 3: There's no condom.
- 21:12Speaker 1: No, there's a diaphragm.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Oh, there's an iud can't be that old.
- 21:17Speaker 2: There's birth control pills, there's foam caps, but all of
- 21:21Speaker 2: these are women are for the vagina.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:25Speaker 3: This makes me think this book is like, we got
- 21:27Speaker 3: to look a little more into this, Like it's almost
- 21:29Speaker 3: like it's that illustrator and writer like the head of
- 21:33Speaker 3: some sort of weird cults.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I don't know, but I saw and I'm telling you what,
- 21:37Speaker 2: Ocean Kent picks that book up at the age of.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Four, I am going insane.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't even imagine. I'm gonna look that. I
- 21:48Speaker 3: want to look more into that because I'm like, that
- 21:50Speaker 3: is crazy town. That's crazy.
- 21:52Speaker 1: I'm not saying that.
- 21:53Speaker 2: If your kid comes to you at a young age
- 21:55Speaker 2: and asks you about things, to sweep it under the
- 21:57Speaker 2: rug bike. Okay, the conversation, but certainly don't have books
- 22:01Speaker 2: like that in the library.
- 22:02Speaker 1: No, okay.
- 22:03Speaker 2: So the person that posted this, it says, last week,
- 22:06Speaker 2: my two little grade school nieces were reading this Salt
- 22:09Speaker 2: Lake School District school book to their grandmother. It encourages
- 22:13Speaker 2: them to explore their sexuality, put things up their rectums,
- 22:16Speaker 2: and embraces sex with children. They were encouraged not to
- 22:20Speaker 2: tell their parents. Pictures and texts from the book reposted
- 22:24Speaker 2: in the comments below.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Please share.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Oh done, Send them to jail, Send the writer, send
- 22:31Speaker 3: anyone who is promoting what you just said to jail.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Bye.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Are you joking? That's what it says, don't tell your parents. Yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 3: and everything else you just said, that's even like too
- 22:43Speaker 3: horrific to repeat. Goodbye, goodbye, you're all getting you're all
- 22:48Speaker 3: going to jail.
- 22:49Speaker 1: It's so, what is going on?
- 22:54Speaker 3: That's wild?
- 22:57Speaker 2: Protect the youth that all costs so that they can
- 23:00Speaker 2: grow up to be beautiful spirits make a difference in
- 23:04Speaker 2: the world. They can't be exposed to too much too young. Okay,
- 23:09Speaker 2: I stand firm on that. There's nothing you can say
- 23:12Speaker 2: to me that will change my fucking mind. When Ocean
- 23:15Speaker 2: Count was born, I saw the beauty in the world.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Everything I wanted this world to be was like right
- 23:21Speaker 2: in my little human that I gave birth to.
- 23:23Speaker 1: And then I saw all the ugliness and.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I was like, I will do everything in my power, yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 2: to like fight off the evil, Like, don't come near
- 23:32Speaker 2: my child with the shit. Yeah, we should as adults
- 23:37Speaker 2: do everything in our power to protect them. And in
- 23:40Speaker 2: the unfortunate event that young humans are exposed to too
- 23:44Speaker 2: much too soon, and we know that happens all the
- 23:46Speaker 2: time and it's heartbreaking, then we just have to pray,
- 23:49Speaker 2: which like I do every night, we pray that these
- 23:52Speaker 2: children find strength and guidance through you know, other ways,
- 23:56Speaker 2: and can become one her full powerful, strong adults. Yeah.
- 24:04Speaker 2: When I was a step parent, she brought me this book.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I don't know where the book came from. I'm drawing
- 24:11Speaker 2: a blank and she was looking through it and she
- 24:14Speaker 2: told me that she wanted me to look at it.
- 24:15Speaker 2: She said, I don't know if this is appropriate for
- 24:17Speaker 2: a kid. So I looked through it and it was
- 24:21Speaker 2: basically teaching It was nothing horrific. It was just basically
- 24:25Speaker 2: teaching you body positivity, no matter what you looked like.
- 24:28Speaker 2: So there were a bunch of drawings of different.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Bodies without clothes on.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Okay obviously, but it was showing like to just embrace
- 24:37Speaker 2: your your body the way it is right. And she
- 24:41Speaker 2: asked me if I thought it was appropriate, and I said,
- 24:43Speaker 2: I want you to make that call. Do you feel
- 24:46Speaker 2: like when you look at this? And I told her
- 24:49Speaker 2: what it was trying to teach. I said, this is
- 24:52Speaker 2: why these are in here, because we have to learn
- 24:54Speaker 2: to love ourselves.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Do you feel like you're too young for it?
- 24:58Speaker 2: And she looked at it again and she handed it
- 24:59Speaker 2: about to me and said, I think I'm too young
- 25:01Speaker 2: for it, and I said, perfect. We won't look at
- 25:03Speaker 2: it until you feel like you're you're ready. But I
- 25:06Speaker 2: explained to her why the image it was nothing like this,
- 25:08Speaker 2: by the way.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Now, but what a smart and that's I mean, that's
- 25:13Speaker 3: so great, what a smart girl, and what a like
- 25:17Speaker 3: a great learning moment for her and you and you
- 25:21Speaker 3: just not being like yet oh my god, this is
- 25:24Speaker 3: too or like forcing it on or being like yes,
- 25:26Speaker 3: you should love this, like toxic positivity, embrace this, read
- 25:30Speaker 3: it all. You gave her the option and are you
- 25:33Speaker 3: comfortable with this? And that's so important. Again, I'm not
- 25:36Speaker 3: a mom, but to me, it's like teaching, if you know, somehow,
- 25:40Speaker 3: teaching children to hear that and feel that gut feeling
- 25:45Speaker 3: and trust that intuition, right, because you're not going to
- 25:48Speaker 3: be in every situation, no, And if they're in a situation,
- 25:52Speaker 3: they've got to learn to trust that that gut feeling
- 25:55Speaker 3: of oh, I don't feel right. Something's wrong, and maybe
- 25:58Speaker 3: I don't know exactly what it is, but something's wrong,
- 26:01Speaker 3: and I just I shouldn't question that and I should
- 26:03Speaker 3: get up and remove my totally.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Yes.
- 26:05Speaker 2: And by the way, Jess, I know that you're not
- 26:07Speaker 2: a mom, obviously, but even when you become a mom,
- 26:11Speaker 2: you sit there and think, am I doing this the
- 26:13Speaker 2: right way?
- 26:13Speaker 1: Yeah? How do I teach my kid all the things
- 26:15Speaker 1: that I want them to know? And you're gonna mess up?
- 26:19Speaker 2: But then there are times where you're mess up in
- 26:22Speaker 2: someone else's eyes, maybe was the most brilliant.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Thing you've ever done, Like none of us have it
- 26:26Speaker 1: figured out now.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Hear if you have one kid or you have twelve kids, right,
- 26:30Speaker 2: you're always learning something different and your kid comes how
- 26:34Speaker 2: they are.
- 26:34Speaker 3: And that's I loved when my mom said that. She said,
- 26:37Speaker 3: you're never just You're always going to question if you're
- 26:41Speaker 3: doing it right. Yeah, and like you just said, there's
- 26:44Speaker 3: gonna be times where you're like, I really messed up
- 26:47Speaker 3: and other people would be like, what are you talking about?
- 26:48Speaker 3: That was the move? A great job?
- 26:51Speaker 2: And like you come from a big family. Your parents,
- 26:54Speaker 2: I'm sure did one thing with mister Bubbs that.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Would never work with you.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Never mister Bubbs gets to do everything you know where, Yes,
- 27:03Speaker 2: we had to teach mister Bubbs this way, but with
- 27:06Speaker 2: ES we got to go this way because you're constantly
- 27:09Speaker 2: having to rework the system.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Yes, it's exhausting.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Makes me pause when I get baby fever, Like I
- 27:17Speaker 3: get to hang out with the ocean most days. So
- 27:21Speaker 3: I'm good for now because I can't. I can't take
- 27:24Speaker 3: on more responsibility.
- 27:26Speaker 1: No, it's a lot. Plus you have to help me
- 27:28Speaker 1: build an empire.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Yes, so we're building the empire.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Firm building the empire.
- 27:33Speaker 2: So we had a lot of fun moments in this intro, Yeah,
- 27:35Speaker 2: a little bit of heavier moments. I always love to
- 27:38Speaker 2: hear your guys' thoughts on everything we talk about, so
- 27:42Speaker 2: please remember to call in weigh in your questions concerns.
- 27:48Speaker 1: If you have any input on Freeze.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Or you have more knowledge educated Educate me, yes, educate me.
- 27:55Speaker 2: You can call me at four two, four two, five
- 27:59Speaker 2: nine to one three one.
- 28:01Speaker 1: And I love you.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Thank you for listening to another episode of mine, and
- 28:04Speaker 2: I will talk to you next week
