- 1:21we begin now The Primrose Matter, Parts one and two from Hollywood. It's
- 1:26time now for Johnny Diller, Brad Taylor, Johnny mid State's Industrial Oh,
- 1:34I have Brad got another chief accountant with his hand on the tail. Nope,
- 1:38this is an old case, Johnny, three weeks old. Anyway,
- 1:40it's at Kansas City Payroll stick up. We were right. It was a
- 1:44Jibbernitzen gang. How do you figure Well, as you know, there's been
- 1:47an apb out on him, wanted for questioning ever since he disappeared the day
- 1:51after the whole up. Yeah, I know, Brad. He was recognized
- 1:53last night in Phoenix, Arizona State Highway Police throughout roadblocks. They tagged him
- 1:57south of Tucson, just north of the Mexican border. Get him they had,
- 2:00I wouldn't be calling you. He shot his way clear. They killed
- 2:05one of his boys, Ronnie Blitzoe. He'll never be missed. So Jipper
- 2:08is still on the loose. Huh yep, along with that one hundred thousand
- 2:12dollars payroll and short by us. I gotta get that money back, Johnny.
- 2:15All right, Brad, I'll fly out there and find it for you.
- 2:19Well, watch yourself every minute. Those HUDs are three time killers.
- 2:22I thought it was two free now they killed a state trooper at that roadblock
- 2:32tonight and every weekday night. Bob Bailey in the Transcribed Adventures of the Man
- 2:38with the Action Pact, Expenser Coud, America's fabulous freelance insurance investigator in aus
- 2:42Truly Johnny Dollar from Special Investigator Johnny Dollar to the home office mid State's Industrial
- 3:00Insurance Company, Hartford, Connecticut. The following is the counting of expenditures during
- 3:05my investigation of the Primrose matter. I don't one one hundred and forty two
- 3:10dollars and eighty cents Incinnett's in Hartford, and transportation to Tucson, Arizona,
- 3:15where I checked into a hotel. Then I contacted the Highway Police and presented
- 3:19my credentials to Lieutenant cal Mervin, who was directing the all out search for
- 3:23the Knitsen Gang. Lieutenant Mervyn had been at the roadblock. They called us
- 3:28flat footed dollar. That's how they happened to get away with it, How
- 3:30do you mean, Lieutenant? We flashed the red light on them, and
- 3:32they slowed down and rolled up to us like they were going to stop.
- 3:37The car was a different make from the one they'd supposedly been seen in.
- 3:39We found later they'd stolen another one in Phoenix. I see then when we
- 3:44threw the spot on them, we saw just the one man. The driver
- 3:46turned out the others were down on the floor. How many were in the
- 3:50car? Four? Apparently three? Afterwards I shot one of them. They
- 3:53threw his body out a half mile down the road. I may hit another
- 3:58one. I'm not sure that figures. I tip off from Kansas City named
- 4:01Jipper Nitson, Ronnie Bledsoe, and two unidentified Yeah, and Bledsoe's the one
- 4:05who was killed. Nitson and the other two got through. You said they
- 4:10slowed down as though they were going to stop what happened. Oh, there's
- 4:13no excuse, mister Dollar. We were careless, it's all. Why don't
- 4:16you get so many false alarms, mistaken IDs and to make a car the
- 4:21whole set up, it didn't seem to fit. You can't be wound up
- 4:25ready to pitch all the time. Well, we paid for it then with
- 4:27his life. I was luckier. I got off with this bullet burn on
- 4:30the side of my head. A't never no checked. Well anyway, the
- 4:34boys on the floor of the car came up, shooting one of them with
- 4:38a Tommy gun. They used the tommy gun and the stick up. That's
- 4:41how the two guards and the armored truck were killed. It's a rough weapon.
- 4:44Mister Dollar then dropped on the first burst from it. Didn't even know
- 4:46what hit him. I got this scratch from a pistol. Bullets saved my
- 4:49life. I guess it flattened me before the tommy gun picked me up.
- 4:54Then the driver slammed into second and they skid it past on the shoulder.
- 4:57I hauled up my gun and emptied to the them before I passed out,
- 5:00hitting a fellow bledsoe is sheer luck? Any trace of them at all?
- 5:04Since they broke clear? No, they had little luck themselves. As I
- 5:09said, I passed out, and it was twenty minutes before a car came
- 5:13along the highway, or before one stopped anyway. I think several probably passed
- 5:16scared to get mixed up in something. Oh, that's understandable. And the
- 5:19fellow that picked me up took me fifteen miles up the road to an emergency
- 5:23first aid station. All in all, it was over an hour before the
- 5:27report got the Highway patrol headquarters and they could get new blocks set up,
- 5:30and Nitsen and his voice could have covered a lot of ground by then.
- 5:32Sure it's it. Here's a map of the southern Arizona area from here to
- 5:39the border. Here's where they hit us. We had the roadblock there at
- 5:43the junction. I see from there south to the border, there's no through
- 5:46road branching off to some dead enders, or like the Arivaca road that looped
- 5:50back and connect into the highway Again, what about the border, Lieutenant.
- 5:55According to the Mexican customs officials at Nogalis, the car didn't show up there,
- 5:59And I'm inclined to buy that. With the rear window shot full of
- 6:00bullet holes, it would have been pretty conspicuous. And as I understand it,
- 6:04it hasn't turned up anywhere else. No, so far we haven't been
- 6:08able to find it. Of course, they had the advantage of an hour's
- 6:11head start. Well that's it, mister dollar. They could have doubled back.
- 6:14It could be in New Mexico, northern Arizona, California, thousand places.
- 6:18On the other hand, though, they couldn't have known they'd have that
- 6:21hours started. What do you mean, Well, they couldn't have known they'd
- 6:26killed your partner and left you unconscious. He was still shooting at them when
- 6:30they gonned away from that roadblock. All they could reasonably suppose was that you'd
- 6:33be reporting in by radio two minutes later. What are you getting at,
- 6:36mister dollar. Well, if that's what they did suppose, then they wouldn't
- 6:40try any doubling back and yet they didn't reach the border down here at no
- 6:45Gollys. But there's no through road that connects into that twenty mile stretch highway,
- 6:48all right, so maybe they're still bottled up right in that section.
- 6:51I don't see how We've been over at half a dozen times and cars,
- 6:56horseback, helicopter were still checking it. I'm just about ready to ross it
- 7:00off. Logic says that's the most probable place they'd be. Can logic find
- 7:03them? Mister Dollar and mine, combined with a whole lot of luck,
- 7:09you got something in mind? I don't know. I was wondering if a
- 7:13civilian, so to speak, might have a better chance of stumbling onto them.
- 7:16They'd be on the lookout for the official search parties, you being a
- 7:19civilian. That's what I sort of had mine. They're pretty rough lands.
- 7:25Hey tell me something. Do you get a lot of rock hounds around here?
- 7:28Amateur geologists, uranium hunters? If you're not careful, they jump out
- 7:31from behind the cactus and stake a claim on your watch. Dial Easterners some
- 7:35of them, I suppose tender feet. I guess you'd call it. Not
- 7:39some of them, most of them then one more wouldn't exactly create a sensation.
- 7:42He wouldn't even be noticed. Isn't the angle you're thinking of unless you
- 7:46know a better one? No, it's not bad. Well, do you
- 7:49know where I can get fixed up with enough? Go to Dave Bright's Sporting
- 7:53Goods on South Stone Avenue. He'll give you that. Dude look about as
- 7:56cheap as anybody. Just tell him I sent you, all right, and
- 8:01don't get too far away from civilization, mister dollar, any special reason.
- 8:05Yeah, I may want to contact you to let you know the Nitsen Gang's
- 8:09been picked up in Portland or in Butte, Montana. Maybe, but I
- 8:13wouldn't count on it. Expense account item two, four hundred and forty six
- 8:24dollars and thirty five cents for a DeLux Rockhound rig complete from buckskin Field boots
- 8:30to sleeping bag, snake bite serum, and a Geiger counter, and including
- 8:33five days rental on a four wheel drive jeep. With that kind of a
- 8:37get up, anybody'd have to find you any just to break even. But
- 8:41at least I figured I was equipped for any possible eventuality. So I headed
- 8:45into the wilds, and the first part I decided to prospect was around twenty
- 8:50miles north of the border, fifty yards back off the highway. It was
- 8:52known to the local inhabitants as Jake's Bar and Grill. The bar was a
- 8:58warped flank counter with rickedy wooden stools. The grills seem to consist of a
- 9:03rack of stale sandwiches wrapped in Wie's paper. But I looked as though Jake
- 9:07himself might be paid there, heard stranger, What do you say? Save
- 9:11your money? Might be that's a good idea, And I think a lot
- 9:16of Scots this time even better idea. Have something yourself you paying for it?
- 9:22Yeah? I might at that. Well, then I'll just have me
- 9:26little this foreign hoots. Yes, sure, Well here's biting a rattlesnake.
- 9:37You're figuring to find yourself some of that there uranium? Are you? Yeah?
- 9:41How'd you guess? Sim doudgs you're wearing come from Dave Bright's place,
- 9:46Sunday mining clothes. We call them no offense. I'm hard to offend.
- 9:50The name is Johnny Dollar, mister Jake's enough though, everybody who's been for
- 9:54that been around here a long time. Oh then you know this country pretty
- 9:56well, I imagine, well enough to tell you the if you find a
- 10:00fresh square foot one where somebody ain't already been looking, and you're doing better
- 10:03most tender feet. No, no offense there, just the way of talking.
- 10:07Well, I guess you'd call us a vacation too. I don't really
- 10:11care much whether I find anything or not. It's just a chance to see
- 10:15some new country. Well, I reckon you could call some of this more
- 10:18or less new once you get away from that their highway on how do you
- 10:22go about doing that? You mean by car? Gas? Easterners ain't much
- 10:24on walking. Well, I have one with a four wheel drive get you
- 10:28a mile or two further, but that's about all the only way to do
- 10:31it on foot. You're probably right, but i'd start by car at least.
- 10:37Which side road would I take if I wanted to get lost around here?
- 10:41You mean, yeah, anywhere along the highway between the junction and the
- 10:45border. Well, as a matter of fact, you wouldn't have much choice.
- 10:48There's six seven passable roads, but they don't need no place upt the
- 10:50ranches don't even get up in the foothills. You ain't getting the mic dry
- 10:56again, are you? Oh? Sure? Fun them both of them again?
- 11:00Much blights, mister yeah, Well they'll always be in England, like
- 11:07a fella says. Oh yeah about them roads, now, the only one
- 11:16that might fit the bill for you is Santa Rita Summit Road. Oh I
- 11:20think I remember that on the map. Yeah, on the map. Well,
- 11:22it leaves a highway about three miles down and runs fourteen miles back up
- 11:28into the Santagrida Mountain Range. It doesn't connect on through, no dead ends
- 11:31a couple of miles past Primrose Camp. None of these here roads go no
- 11:35place. That's what I've been telling them. Stake place for two days.
- 11:37They've been looking for some stick up fellas, I reckon you heard about that?
- 11:41Oh yeah, yeah, Why them fellows should be out of their minds.
- 11:45Take one of them. Their side roads ain't no place they could go
- 11:48to on them. Oh it sounds logical, al right, you asked me
- 11:50them fellaws jumped the border somehow. That's how come they was down here in
- 11:54this part of the country to begin with. Are you're probably right, Jake?
- 11:58Anyhow you think this time at road might get me off the beaten path,
- 12:01Well, it's your best bed around here. It climbs up into the
- 12:05pines. He hits six thousand feet at Primrose Camp. It's a good shape,
- 12:09too, used to haul oer out over a few years back. There
- 12:11are mines up in there. No, no, no, they're all worked
- 12:15out now, all few little high graders scratching for pennies, but the big
- 12:20stuff's gone for the time being. At least some folks figure it'll come back,
- 12:22But I ain't one of them. Oh what is this Primrose Camp?
- 12:26Pop by Dell's place, named after the old Primrose mine. Yeah, well,
- 12:28what is it? Well, mixture things? Why? Pop probably been
- 12:33making more money there than he would if the mines did come back. He's
- 12:37got a filling station and half a dozen flimsy tourist cabins, lunch counter that
- 12:41his missus runs, little grocery store and souvenir shop. His daughter Jenny takes
- 12:46carev who've got a lot of things make an income for him. On about
- 12:50customers with a place fourteen miles up at then End Road. Well, he
- 12:52gets a few enough picnickers and tours in the summertime, hunters in winter,
- 12:58and fellas like you all year round come looking for this uranium stuff. He
- 13:01ain't got much experience neither. It's all in the family you see, and
- 13:05now he's got a new hand to help starting today. That's so yeah.
- 13:09Yeah, he come down this afternoon and get the mail. You see,
- 13:11the bus stops and drops it off here with me, and Pop comes down
- 13:13every day and picks it up. Hey, I figure he likes a chance
- 13:16to get out of the side of the missus for an hour. He sent
- 13:20this boy today. Uh, this new hand he's taken off, well,
- 13:24not exactly a hand. He Pop's nephew, so he said, comes out
- 13:28of Tulsa yesterday. Ah, I see, funny thing though he sure didn't
- 13:31have any Oklahoma accent. And Jake, how the boy is? He will
- 13:37hard say between twenty five and thirty maybe a real close smile sort of fella.
- 13:43Couldn't hardly get a word out of him. Uh huh, nothing toll
- 13:48like Pop. Why that old fellow talk a leg off here? If you
- 13:50go up there or you can open your mouth, he'll tell you tank a
- 13:52gas, two quarts all you don't need, some genuine phony or samples,
- 13:56and rent you a couple of them cabins. And oh, thanks for the
- 13:58morning, Jake. I'll be ready for good luck. Mit your dollar whatever
- 14:03it is. You're a hunting. What do you mean she a lot of
- 14:07tenderfeet come hunting uranium. But you were the first one that wore a shoulder
- 14:13holster with a gun in it. No offense, you understand, Johnny.
- 14:35Lieutenant cal Mervyn mister Dollar, State Highway Police. They relate your call to
- 14:39me. Good. I was just checking in, Lieutenant. You said to
- 14:43keep in touch in case I left civilization. You haven't left it far.
- 14:46I recognize the number. Oh you're a Jake's bar and grill on in the
- 14:50Galley's Highway. Yep, you didn't need a uranium hunter's outfit to go prospecting
- 14:54in that little nugget. Well, I'm going up into the Santa Rina Mountains
- 14:58around Primrose camp Hunter. We got a lead, well both, but at
- 15:01the moment it's more hunched than lead. I just wanted you to know where
- 15:05to start looking in case I disappeared. Now, look, mister Dollar,
- 15:07I've got every man on the force out now looking for that gang of killers
- 15:11and one hundred thousand dollars payroll they stole. If I have to add you
- 15:15to the list, that's about all I'll need. Relaxed, Lieutenant. If
- 15:18things work out, you may find us together from special investigator Johnny Dollar,
- 15:30location Jake's Bar and grill somewhere on a highway in southern Arizona to the home
- 15:35office mid State's Industrial Insurance Company, Hartford, Connecticut, assignment the Primrose matter
- 15:41expense account continue it them four three dollars and sixty cents to Jake Meager for
- 15:52information and incidental beverages. The chibber Knitsen gang had hijacked an armored truck in
- 15:58Kansas City escape with one hundred thousand dollars payroll. Two nights ago, they'd
- 16:03shot their way through a roadblock in southern Arizona, killed a state trooper,
- 16:07and left one of their own members dead in the road. Then the other
- 16:10three had simply disappeared. The information from Jake that old Pomp Bardell operated a
- 16:15tourist camp and service station fourteen miles up a dead end road in the nearby
- 16:19mountains, and it seems that Pomp had acquired a new nephew within the last
- 16:25twenty four hours, a complete stranger. To Jake, there was only one
- 16:29way to check it out. Drive up to Primrose Camp. He Hi,
- 16:38how I want me to fill up the tank? Yeah? I might as
- 16:44well, probably won't take much. So hey, how much farther does the
- 16:51road go? Just a couple of miles? Oh, too bad. I
- 16:53was just starting to enjoy the scenery. You know, you're a rookie living
- 16:56up here in the hills. Got some real pretty country. I thought I
- 17:02might spend a little time in it if I could find a place to stay.
- 17:06I guess there'll be some more tourist cabins on down the road. Oh
- 17:08no, these are only ones. Oh oh wow, on that case,
- 17:12you gets yourself. A border took place in four gallon. Yeah, I
- 17:17figured it was not much. I hate to get caught short though off here
- 17:21away from a highway. Now, how about that cabin? Sorry, we're
- 17:23all full of huh you'll you'll find some places down on the highway. Well,
- 17:30wouldn't be much point in that. I was planning to do some prospecting,
- 17:33getting around a little on foot. This would be a good spot to
- 17:36work for me. I've got no vacancies. How about the oil and water?
- 17:40Oh yeah, you better take a look. I guess bad country for
- 17:45a kind of food. You get in a lot of trouble, such as
- 17:48what uh, snake bite? Get lost full off a cliff? Good things.
- 17:56Oh, I've been in a place or two before. Best you forget
- 17:59it, hun, Well, it's all right. It's funny. Those cabins
- 18:03look empty. No cars park in front of it. They're all rendered.
- 18:07And the water saw it too. Oh they were in it. Two vacationers.
- 18:11Probably couldn't say. It'll be a dollar twenty six, all right,
- 18:17and they worth stopping for it. Here you are, keep the change call
- 18:22again? Yeah, yeah, maybe I will when Pop Bardell gets back.
- 18:26I'm Pop Bardell. You can't be you know fit the description? What do
- 18:33you mean? Well? I was told Pop Bardell and start talking a leg
- 18:36off me before I even got my mouth open. But he not only sell
- 18:40me a tank of gas, but also two quarts of oil I didn't really
- 18:42need, in a handful of fake ore samples, and rent me a couple
- 18:45of cabins, whether I was planning to stay or not. Who told you
- 18:48that? Jake Meager down at the highway. Jakes one talks too much?
- 18:53Maybe what is it nephew you're about through out there? Yeah? Yeah,
- 19:03I'm oh that the nephew Jake was telling me about it. Yeah, that's
- 19:07a nice second. Fella arrived yesterday and expected that Jake tells me, yeah,
- 19:11yeah, yeah, that's that's right. It comes from Tulsa. I
- 19:14understand. Oh yeah, yeah, that's right from to I'm coming. I
- 19:21got some friends in Tulsa. I wonder if he might know. Where are
- 19:23you going? I want to say a lot of your No, No,
- 19:26you can't go in there. Why not? We we're fumigating. They just
- 19:30ain't safe. All right. I won't go inside, but I want some
- 19:33cigarettes out of the machine. I'll get them for you. Just give me
- 19:36the quarter you feel all right? Sure? That seems to me you're kind
- 19:41of jumpy on edge. I thought all you west And were supposed to be
- 19:45relaxed and easy going. Look, you want them cigarettes? Trouble uncle,
- 19:49No, no trouble. This fella just wants some cigarettes, is all?
- 19:53What brand Atcesterized? There? Yeah? Thanks? Oh here? Don't you
- 20:03want the money for you? Give it tomorrow for here? Yeah? Sure
- 20:06you go, thank you? If that's all I say. I understand you
- 20:08from Tulsa. So I got a good friend down there. Clem Wilkie thought
- 20:15made me know right now. Look if there's nothing else, now you've been
- 20:18there about a year. He's working on that new electric plant. They're building
- 20:22down there. But I guess he'll be out of a job before long.
- 20:25Though. Understand they'll have the plant done by the end of the month.
- 20:27Yeah, yeah, that's right, it's about finish now. Look, mister
- 20:30Rice, you never met Clem, But Tulsa's big town. Yeah, it's
- 20:33a big time. Come on, uncle, let's get that stuff moved.
- 20:37Well. I guess I'll drift on down the road and sleep out tonight.
- 20:41Maybe I got my sleeping bag. Oh, probably see them all way back,
- 20:45I guess, yeah, you do that. There was only one thing
- 20:52wrong with the whole setup. The best of my knowledge, there wasn't any
- 20:56new electric plant in Tulsa. I drove on past Primrose Camp, two miles
- 21:06farther into the end of the road. It was narrow, unpaved, and
- 21:08for the most part bound by a straight drop off on one side and a
- 21:11vertical cliff on the other, with no chance for a car to turn off.
- 21:15There were two fire roads for access by the Forest Service, actually nothing
- 21:18more than narrow trails. Their turnofs were blocked by steel cables padlock between heavy
- 21:23metal posts. As far as I could tell, they hadn't been tampered with,
- 21:27and no car had turned into either of the trails for a month or
- 21:30more. It ended up to one thing. There was simply no place in
- 21:34the area where the Nitsen Gang's car could be hidden, yet I was still
- 21:38certain that they were here somewhere. An hour later, I'd left my car
- 21:45at the road and was lying on a rocky ridge three hundred yards or so
- 21:48above Primrose Camp, watching the place through binociars and seeing nothing of any importance.
- 21:53Two cars stopped sight seers. Apparently one driver had the water check and
- 21:59left. A couple got out of the other car and spent twenty minutes in
- 22:03the lunch room, came out and drove off. Pop Bardell came outside occasionally,
- 22:07his wife too. A couple of times by Bardell's daughter, whom Jake
- 22:11Meager had told me about, didn't show. Neither did the mysterious nephew.
- 22:18I kept on watching him. Oh the strangers, yeah, oh no,
- 22:27oh, not exactly. It looked like you was just admiring the view the
- 22:32city fair. He jessing go on, every time, can't see kid,
- 22:36when you lived alone in the mountain. As long as I have then named
- 22:38duds you're wearin too. Got him at Dave Breke store didn't you. That's
- 22:42right, Dave outfits a lot of you Eastern fellows, and all the call
- 22:45stuff that comes from Dave's it's got a look about it. Hey, you
- 22:49wouldn't be a prospector, was he? Forty years of excep You live up
- 22:53in these parts somewhere the six mile across the canyons. There got a cabin
- 22:56I built myself from some clams of mine. He'd been there for three weeks,
- 23:00so that no, we've been prospecting over towd the rim cans getting him
- 23:04back home. Now you're the first living soul of seed. You haven't heard
- 23:10any news then in the last three weeks. And my name is Johnny Dollar.
- 23:14By the way, you can't Marsh proud to know your sine size you
- 23:18up before I spoke to you and decided to take the chance. Might be
- 23:21glad that the find you eat a smart alley like a lot of them city
- 23:25fellows. Oh, it takes all kinds to make us silly, mister Marsh,
- 23:27I reckon, so we'll never can see why it takes some kind So
- 23:33there's pop. They're out in front of the station usually step by and say
- 23:37how do you do him? But I reckon. I'm going to pass it
- 23:40this time. John Pop Long about fourteen years now. Then you must know
- 23:44his family pretty well. Where aside from his missus, there ain't no family
- 23:48except their daughter Jenny. No. I was thinking of his nephew and Telson.
- 23:52He ain't got no nephew, mister Doller, Oh whatsterd he had.
- 23:56He ain't got no living kin at all except for some cousin in Virginia.
- 24:00I guess I was missing for Yeah, that's for sure. Pop's a real
- 24:04lone wolf. Used to be a prospect hisself years back, but he never
- 24:08really had the neck for it. Anyhow, he finally bought this hi primrose
- 24:12camp and settled down to a civilized way of living. I'd say got about
- 24:17as far away from civilization as he could compromises. That's what he has always
- 24:22fooling hisself. I told him that a lot of times, even keeps on
- 24:26prospecting off and on right around the camp there when he knows there rate no
- 24:30pay dirt on this rock. Well, that's like a city man growing vegetables
- 24:33in a window box. I guess I wonder if I can ask a favor
- 24:37of you? Well, sure, what I was able to go on down
- 24:41there and get pop to do it. But I'll have to stay all evening
- 24:44if I do, and I'm kind of ankry to get home. Of course,
- 24:48if I go to the authorities, they'll keep me around asking questions,
- 24:52making steaks. What are you talking about, if there's been any signs of
- 24:55life? Anything I could do to help you? Understatesill marsh, What are
- 24:59you getting at? Where? Over across the ridge there in the bottom of
- 25:03the canyon there's a car half buried under a rock slop. All right,
- 25:18we don't want to start the rest of that rock coming down. I didn't
- 25:21moving rock wall in my life, sir. All right, it's clear.
- 25:25Let go. Well, that's good. I can get the car door open
- 25:30now. They had a pretty well buried l Who do you mean by day,
- 25:37mister, It doesn't matter at the moment. Give me a hand when
- 25:40he lives. Get this guy out, that's fine. We'll lay him here
- 25:45on the side of the car. It's like I figured, couldn't be anybody
- 25:48left alive after rolling all the way down let slope. This one wasn't alive
- 25:52before the car rolled down what he was shot by the State Highway police.
- 25:59He did a good job of hiding the car temporarily. At least it couldn't
- 26:02have been seen from the air. The only way of finding it was to
- 26:04stumble onto it the way you did. You ain't up here just for pleasure.
- 26:08How are you, mister Doller. I'm an insurance investigator. I'm after
- 26:11a stick up gang who've killed two bank guards and a state highway trooper.
- 26:15This man was one of the gangs. There ain't nobody else in the car.
- 26:18Here is he the gang? There were four of them to start with.
- 26:22This is the second one who's been shot to death. There are still
- 26:26two to go where you figured they are at Primrose Camp. Now here's our
- 26:45star to tell you about tomorrow's episode of this week's story. Tomorrow, a

- 28:48I have to see what steps Johnny takes. I do remember, even though
- 28:52I've not spent a ton of time in Arizona, I lived a few months
- 28:57in Masa when I was a about nine or ten. But I do remember
- 29:03driving through it, and there are a lot of places, particularly, and
- 29:07I assume this is still the case where there are not a lot of people.
- 29:11I remember driving through the small town of nothing, Arizona, population four,
- 29:18so I can relate to the area that Johnny's going through. All right,
