- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. In our last episode,
- 0:09Joseph went from being a prisoner in Egypt to
- 0:12the second most powerful person in the land,
- 0:15all because God helped him understand Pharaoh's
- 0:19dreams. Joseph wisely stored food during the
- 0:23years of plenty. And now Egypt was the only place
- 0:27with food during a great famine. But this story
- 0:31isn't finished yet. Far away, in the land of
- 0:35Canaan, Joseph's brothers were running out of
- 0:38food. They didn't know that their younger brother,
- 0:42the one they had sold so long ago, was now in
- 0:47charge of Egypt's grain. What happens when they
- 0:51meet again? Let's find out. The famine had spread
- 1:08far and wide, and Joseph's family back in Canaan
- 1:12was struggling. Jacob, Joseph's father, heard
- 1:16that Egypt still had food. So, he sent ten of
- 1:20his sons on a long journey to buy grain. Only
- 1:24Benjamin, the youngest, stayed behind. When the
- 1:29brothers arrived in Egypt, they bowed before
- 1:32the governor of the land, not knowing it was
- 1:35Joseph. Joseph recognized them right away, even
- 1:40though they didn't recognize him. He remembered
- 1:43the dreams he had as a boy, dreams that had once
- 1:47made his brothers angry. Now those dreams were
- 1:51coming true. Joseph decided to test them. So
- 1:57he spoke sternly, pretending not to know them.
- 2:01He accused them of being spies and questioned
- 2:04them about their family. The brothers explained
- 2:07that they had come from Canaan and had another
- 2:10younger brother who had stayed home. Joseph kept
- 2:14one brother in Egypt and sent the others back
- 2:17with food, on one condition. they had to return
- 2:21with their youngest brother, Benjamin. Back in
- 2:26Canaan, Jacob was afraid to send Benjamin. But
- 2:30when the food ran out again, he had no choice.
- 2:34The brothers returned to Egypt with Benjamin,
- 2:37worried about what might happen. When Joseph
- 2:41saw his youngest brother, his heart was full.
- 2:47He cared deeply for Benjamin and could barely
- 2:51hide his emotions. Still, he gave one final test.
- 2:55He had a special cup placed in Benjamin's bag
- 2:59and then sent the brothers away. After they left,
- 3:03Joseph's servant went after them and brought
- 3:06them back, saying the cup had been stolen. The
- 3:11brothers were shocked. They hadn't taken anything.
- 3:16but now it looked like Benjamin was in trouble.
- 3:19One of the older brothers offered to take Benjamin's
- 3:23place, showing Joseph that he was willing to
- 3:26protect his brother, no matter what. Their hearts
- 3:30had changed from before when they sold Joseph.
- 3:34Joseph couldn't hide his feelings any longer.
- 3:37He sent everyone else out of the room, and through
- 3:41tears, he revealed who he truly was. His brothers
- 3:46were speechless, frightened by what he might
- 3:49do. But Joseph told them not to be afraid. He
- 3:54explained that even though they had hurt him,
- 3:57God had used everything for good. Because of
- 4:00what happened, Joseph had been placed in Egypt
- 4:04and was able to save many lives, including theirs.
- 4:09Joseph forgave his brothers. He hugged them and
- 4:13promised to care for them during the famine.
- 4:16Then he sent them home to bring their father,
- 4:19Jacob, to Egypt so their whole family could live
- 4:22together again. What an amazing story of forgiveness!
- 4:32Joseph had every reason to stay angry, but instead,
- 4:37he chose love and mercy. Let's think about a
- 4:41few things together. Have you ever had to forgive
- 4:46someone who hurt your feelings? How do you think
- 4:50Joseph was able to forgive his brothers? What
- 4:55can we learn from Joseph about trusting God and
- 4:58choosing kindness? Sometimes it's hard to forgive,
- 5:04especially when we've been deeply hurt. But Joseph
- 5:08shows us that God can heal broken hearts and
- 5:11use even the hardest moments for something good.
- 5:16Thanks for joining me today. Next time, we'll
- 5:20hear about how Joseph's family settles in Egypt
- 5:24and how God continues to care for them. But a
- 5:28new king will rise, one who doesn't remember
- 5:31Joseph. We will also meet a special baby whose
- 5:35life was saved in a surprising way. Don't miss
- 5:39it. Until then, remember, you are wonderfully
- 5:43made, and God's love is always with you. Bye
- 5:48for now.
