- 0:00Speaker 1: I'll start Toyota Presents off the Bench with Jacob Hester
- 0:03Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Asday Hester and Hester.
- 0:07Speaker 1: From carrying each other to a natty to carrying each other.
- 0:12Speaker 2: On the air, control the.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Live from the Mercedes Benz of Baton Rouge studio.
- 0:21Speaker 2: It's off the bench, all right, welcome back.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Here, hour number three of ot B. It's gotta feel
- 0:57Speaker 3: it's going to continue to be the conversation.
- 0:59Speaker 4: It is what it is. It's the biggest news out there.
- 1:01Speaker 3: SEC going to nine games, three permanent opponents, the other
- 1:04Speaker 3: six are going to rotate. We have continued to try
- 1:08Speaker 3: hearing the breaks to put together our final OTB stands
- 1:11Speaker 3: on the three teams, We're still not there.
- 1:13Speaker 4: We'll get there eventually.
- 1:14Speaker 3: But and this also like, it's not like we keep
- 1:17Speaker 3: using Mississippi State, Kentucky Vandy because that's the one I've
- 1:19Speaker 3: seen the most out there of Hey, let's play the
- 1:22Speaker 3: three easy. It's now that can also rotate. Vanderbilt certainly
- 1:24Speaker 3: wouldn't have been in the bottom three a year ago.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Those years, Kentucky would not have been in the bottom three.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I mean, Kentucky has won ten games in the last
- 1:33Speaker 3: couple of years. Remember going to Kentucky was at twenty
- 1:35Speaker 3: twenty one, and Kentucky put the SmackDown on LSU.
- 1:40Speaker 4: So like that's not always going to be the case.
- 1:43Speaker 3: But when I say those teams, it's not even that conversation,
- 1:45Speaker 3: it's those teams don't They don't really do any They
- 1:48Speaker 3: don't really move the needle for you, like no matter
- 1:50Speaker 3: how good or how bad they are. Right now, currently
- 1:53Speaker 3: we're talking about Oklahoma, like the SEC kind of showed
- 1:56Speaker 3: you that they want to make that a thing. Okay,
- 2:00Speaker 3: maybe it does happen, Maybe there's something there. They've played
- 2:03Speaker 3: for a national championship in three I've had some big games,
- 2:06Speaker 3: they played in a College Football Playoffs semi final. But
- 2:09Speaker 3: it's like, right now, even that game in Oklahoma is
- 2:12Speaker 3: one of, if not the most successful college football programs
- 2:15Speaker 3: like in the totality history of college football. But it's like,
- 2:18Speaker 3: still don't have those memories yet, you don't have those
- 2:22Speaker 3: moments even though you've played them for a national championship.
- 2:24Speaker 3: And so it's not just picking on those three schools.
- 2:27Speaker 3: The schools that we're talking about right those are teams
- 2:30Speaker 3: that you've had hate for, you have memories for, you
- 2:33Speaker 3: have core memories you have moments that immediately come to
- 2:36Speaker 3: your brain. I mean growing up watching LSU touchdown Tommy
- 2:41Speaker 3: Banks in nineteen ninety seven, Like I remember exactly where
- 2:44Speaker 3: I was for that moment, like when he scored and
- 2:48Speaker 3: being in the Sports Illustrated, I thought the coolest person
- 2:50Speaker 3: in the world.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Kind of still do. Kevin Falk.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Kemp Falk was the coolest person in the world when
- 2:56Speaker 3: I watched him in the Independence Ball. It's like, there
- 2:58Speaker 3: is not a cooler person right now in this world
- 3:00Speaker 3: than Kevin Falk, right, and like some of those moments
- 3:04Speaker 3: that you watch him against Florida.
- 3:05Speaker 4: So that's what we're talking about.
- 3:07Speaker 3: It's not just what they are on the field, because again,
- 3:10Speaker 3: the three teams that everybody's talking about, they've had moments
- 3:12Speaker 3: where they've not been the three worst teams in the SEC.
- 3:15Speaker 3: It's the teams that you've got this history with of
- 3:19Speaker 3: bad blood, of great games, of you know, players from
- 3:23Speaker 3: the other team that you can just you say their
- 3:27Speaker 3: name and it creates this motion like, man, God, Brandon Spikes,
- 3:30Speaker 3: that's son of a gun man. I can't you know,
- 3:32Speaker 3: Like That's what I'm talking about, And you just don't
- 3:34Speaker 3: have that with those other teams, and so that's what
- 3:36Speaker 3: we're trying to come up with, the three teams that
- 3:38Speaker 3: create those emotions, because that's what you want every single
- 3:42Speaker 3: year on your schedule.
- 3:44Speaker 5: At the end of the day, it's probably like a
- 3:47Speaker 5: it's probably a short term situation anyway, when we think
- 3:50Speaker 5: about the totality of college football, I mean, whether it's
- 3:52Speaker 5: five years, ten years, whatever it is, like cause you
- 3:55Speaker 5: would think eventually SEC is going to add two more teams,
- 3:58Speaker 5: for more teams, six more teams as these mega conferences
- 4:01Speaker 5: start to expand, you would think that that's probably the
- 4:03Speaker 5: way that things will go. So they'll have to re
- 4:07Speaker 5: align the your all these teams again at some point.
- 4:10Speaker 5: So I mean we're probably not talking about the next
- 4:12Speaker 5: thirty year opponents either. And with nine games, I mean
- 4:15Speaker 5: you are getting a spattering of everybody. So even if
- 4:18Speaker 5: you know what the games don't line up exactly how
- 4:20Speaker 5: you want it to or how you think they should,
- 4:23Speaker 5: I mean you're still going to get everybody. What was
- 4:25Speaker 5: the what was the breakdown again of how they're going
- 4:30Speaker 5: to schedule home and aways for your the non three
- 4:33Speaker 5: teams that you're playing every single year, you're playing every
- 4:36Speaker 5: everybody will play at every stadium, right, if you're a
- 4:39Speaker 5: freshman play, Yeah, four years, you'll be at every stadium.
- 4:45Speaker 5: That's a that's a beauty about how it should be.
- 4:47Speaker 5: That's exactly how it should be. That's the beauty of adding.
- 4:49Speaker 5: I love that they're adding the next game. I know
- 4:51Speaker 5: we can debate who and why and you know, whatever
- 4:55Speaker 5: it is. But like the fact that we're going to
- 4:57Speaker 5: nine SEC games.
- 5:00Speaker 4: I love it. I love it.
- 5:02Speaker 5: Yeah, I know we had we had the eight, but
- 5:04Speaker 5: it eliminates one other game. And hopefully they keep the
- 5:07Speaker 5: mandate that you do have to have a power powerful
- 5:09Speaker 5: or powerful whatever it is. I don't know, is it what?
- 5:12Speaker 4: What is it? What? How does it read? Right now
- 5:14Speaker 4: you have to play power four, you have to play
- 5:17Speaker 4: at least one powerful in conference theme.
- 5:19Speaker 5: Yeah, hopefully they keep that because those those games are
- 5:22Speaker 5: amazing too. Like the fact that we are going out
- 5:25Speaker 5: there and playing at Clemson home in a way, which
- 5:26Speaker 5: is which is fantastic. So I want I want to
- 5:29Speaker 5: see those games, but I'd like to see everybody. Everybody
- 5:31Speaker 5: do that, uh tiboeau, I I do.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I do see your point, I understand it, but I
- 5:36Speaker 3: want them every year, he said, Just I just want
- 5:38Speaker 3: to point out that just because a team isn't your
- 5:40Speaker 3: permanent opponent doesn't mean you'll never play that again.
- 5:42Speaker 4: I know that. I know that, but I want to
- 5:43Speaker 4: play them every year. To a point, play them every
- 5:46Speaker 4: single year.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Want every player's ever played for Florida to nobody else
- 5:50Speaker 3: who's all about Yeah, and certainly in the year, in
- 5:54Speaker 3: the time that we're in of one year rentals.
- 5:57Speaker 4: I want everybody every year, every single year. I get it.
- 6:00Speaker 4: I know you're gonna be in a rotation, I get it.
- 6:04Speaker 4: I just want them every year.
- 6:05Speaker 5: I want to be able to punch him in the
- 6:06Speaker 5: face every single year. And of course I'm a quarterback,
- 6:08Speaker 5: so that's metaphorically speaking. You want somebody else to punch
- 6:11Speaker 5: him in the punch him the face. Why I throw
- 6:13Speaker 5: it passes, it's obviously I don't you know. I'm not
- 6:18Speaker 5: getting in the fray. I'm not going to get in
- 6:21Speaker 5: the fight and smoke. But I'll talk to you know
- 6:25Speaker 5: what to him.
- 6:28Speaker 6: But you're the hold me back guy.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Hold me back exactly like, aren't you'll hold me back?
- 6:35Speaker 4: I don't want to do this. Everyone's just watching hold
- 6:40Speaker 4: me back? Nah, dude, you got it. Oh man, this
- 6:42Speaker 4: is awkward. I like this from two d lad.
- 6:49Speaker 3: We don't have Texas on the regular season schedule this year,
- 6:51Speaker 3: but we will play them in Atlanta come December. You know,
- 6:55Speaker 3: he no, you know, eventually we are going to have
- 7:01Speaker 3: to give three teams. We eight, you know, are we are?
- 7:05Speaker 3: We are we settling Florida and Old Miss It is
- 7:08Speaker 3: our official stance.
- 7:09Speaker 4: I think, so.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Do we want to go Florida Old miss A and
- 7:14Speaker 3: m Florida Old Miss Alabama?
- 7:17Speaker 4: I just think it's too big of a game. This
- 7:19Speaker 4: isn't what we'd rather. It's kind of what we like,
- 7:22Speaker 4: what we think, and what we think. I don't know.
- 7:26Speaker 4: I think it'll be I think they'll give us.
- 7:28Speaker 6: Wait, this isn't what we want. This is what we
- 7:30Speaker 6: think the SEC.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Florida. Should we do what we want? I thought that's
- 7:35Speaker 4: what we were doing. Then it goes Florida Bama.
- 7:42Speaker 6: Yeah no, no, no, Florida.
- 7:46Speaker 4: I mean I'd rather than Ole Miss, would you would? Yeah? Yeah?
- 7:54Speaker 5: Jackson Dark's good. Is like they really missed an opportunity
- 7:59Speaker 5: last year. It's like they screwed that one up.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Lane's got a lot to prove.
- 8:04Speaker 7: I mean that's what we talked about when we ranked
- 8:07Speaker 7: them in the o TV poll though, like.
- 8:12Speaker 6: Get over the hump.
- 8:12Speaker 7: He was handed a playoff team, not handed, but he
- 8:15Speaker 7: had a playoff team last season.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Yeah we said it.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Not now then when y'all watched him play, Yeah for
- 8:22Speaker 3: the giants'ready the best quarterback on that team, hands down.
- 8:28Speaker 4: I don't think you can.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I don't think couldn't make the playoffs with him and
- 8:32Speaker 3: that roster you had.
- 8:35Speaker 8: You had Amos who went in the second dB. So
- 8:40Speaker 8: Chris Paul at linebacker was a really good player for you.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Just for that fact, let's kick them out of our list.
- 8:50Speaker 4: I'm good with it.
- 8:51Speaker 5: Take Yeah, I mean that was I mean, and he
- 8:56Speaker 5: was playing college football six months ago. Seven months ago.
- 8:59Speaker 5: It's not like it's not like he's matured and got
- 9:01Speaker 5: become a much better quarterback in that time frame.
- 9:04Speaker 4: He's just that good. He's just that good.
- 9:07Speaker 6: Ole miss is seventeen and the OT people.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Actually had had him hiring.
- 9:14Speaker 6: I think I put them at seventeen, did you? I
- 9:16Speaker 6: think so it's.
- 9:18Speaker 4: About where a lot of people think they got. You
- 9:20Speaker 4: had seventeen, went sixteen fifteen. I think that, uh. I
- 9:24Speaker 4: think they running back questions too, which for.
- 9:29Speaker 8: Him a year ago, they couldn't run the ball a
- 9:30Speaker 8: year ago, and they're probably less talented.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Lane told me that, he said, we couldn't run the
- 9:34Speaker 4: ball like we needed to.
- 9:35Speaker 3: That's why we lost against Kentucky and LSU straight up
- 9:39Speaker 3: didn't didn't sugarcoat it.
- 9:40Speaker 5: I think Ole Miss and Miami are going to be
- 9:42Speaker 5: similar teams this year, and I think they're going to
- 9:43Speaker 5: realize how good their quarterbacks were last year and it's
- 9:47Speaker 5: going to affect their win loss record pretty severely. That's
- 9:53Speaker 5: what I think. I think they're gonna be similar. I
- 9:55Speaker 5: think they're going to have a pretty big step back.
- 9:59Speaker 5: Who is the SEC Coach of the Year. I'm going
- 10:10Speaker 5: to Eli drink Witz.
- 10:13Speaker 3: The coach is never going to be the coach that
- 10:16Speaker 3: goes and does what he's supposed to do.
- 10:18Speaker 6: That's true.
- 10:18Speaker 3: If that was the case, Nick Saban would have fifteen
- 10:21Speaker 3: SEC Coach of the Year trophies in his office.
- 10:23Speaker 4: He does not.
- 10:25Speaker 3: It is the coach that, hey, we thought you were
- 10:27Speaker 3: gonna be kind of bad, turns out you were not
- 10:29Speaker 3: so bad. You're actually sort of good, and now you're
- 10:33Speaker 3: gonna get Coach of the Year. That's what that That's
- 10:35Speaker 3: what that award goes to. Unless you have like a
- 10:37Speaker 3: year like you know coach O in twenty nineteen that
- 10:39Speaker 3: he got it. That's maybe the best college football team ever.
- 10:43Speaker 3: They're gonna give you that award. But like coach Saban
- 10:46Speaker 3: had gotten to a point where it's like, you're not
- 10:47Speaker 3: getting this anymore, Kirby, You're not getting it anymore.
- 10:50Speaker 4: It's gonna be Ali.
- 10:51Speaker 8: Drinkwitz, speaking of Missouri Eli at the beginning of the week,
- 10:56Speaker 8: said I'm close to the name of the starting QB. Yesterday
- 10:58Speaker 8: he came out and did the opposite. He said, Boat
- 11:01Speaker 8: Prabula and Sam Horn are both going to play in
- 11:03Speaker 8: the opener and essentially winner take all he wants to
- 11:06Speaker 8: see him in game experience to he still didn't have
- 11:08Speaker 8: a starting quarterback. Yeah, Now was that good or bad?
- 11:13Speaker 8: Like you brought in Prabula to be your starter? Is
- 11:15Speaker 8: he underperforming? Or has Sam Horn raised? There's always two
- 11:18Speaker 8: sides to look at it that way.
- 11:22Speaker 4: I'm going to predict that Shane Biemer will wait the
- 11:24Speaker 4: coach of the Year.
- 11:25Speaker 8: I thought Shane Beamer too, but they got they got
- 11:27Speaker 8: a little expectations like I don't.
- 11:30Speaker 4: I guess I'll go Beamer too.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but they're they're in a spot of their expectation
- 11:33Speaker 3: where if they stay right where they're at right now,
- 11:36Speaker 3: then he'll probably be a Coach.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Of the Year.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Yeah, and I just I believe in Sellers, and I
- 11:42Speaker 5: think we've talked a lot about him, like if he
- 11:45Speaker 5: is in the Heisman hunt, that means they're having a
- 11:49Speaker 5: really good season, and that means Shane Beamer. And again,
- 11:52Speaker 5: I was impressed listening to him. I'm always kind of
- 11:54Speaker 5: impressed by his interviews and the way he handles himself carrys.
- 11:57Speaker 5: I think he looks good with the media, and I
- 11:59Speaker 5: think it looks presents himself in a good fashion.
- 12:02Speaker 4: And I think they got a really good quarterback. Honestly,
- 12:04Speaker 4: I think Billy Napier's got a shot.
- 12:06Speaker 8: I mean, if DJ Lagway could stay healthy, which I
- 12:09Speaker 8: actually think his health is a big concern. I mean
- 12:13Speaker 8: we thought he was a dead man walking a year ago,
- 12:16Speaker 8: Like everybody thought he was gonna get fired. He actually
- 12:18Speaker 8: had a pretty good run there at the end of
- 12:20Speaker 8: the year. He takes down LSU. Like, if they can
- 12:23Speaker 8: build off of that and go eating four nine and three,
- 12:27Speaker 8: I mean, that's that's exceeding expectations based on their schedule. Yeah,
- 12:30Speaker 8: he almost did.
- 12:31Speaker 5: That last year he's won, like DJ Lagway kneed to
- 12:34Speaker 5: it us away from not being very good.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Lagway's first eleven on eleven was Tuesday. Yep. Keep in
- 12:41Speaker 4: mind he.
- 12:41Speaker 8: Didn't participate in spring, and then his first eleven on
- 12:44Speaker 8: eleven in fall was Tuesday.
- 12:46Speaker 4: You're a week from the first game. It's against Long Island.
- 12:49Speaker 4: I mean, I get it.
- 12:52Speaker 5: Cope South Richard and he says it gonna be Sark
- 12:55Speaker 5: because he's attached to man in.
- 12:59Speaker 4: These arcs. Goat Coach of the Year National.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Last year two hundred yards passing for ARC manning game one.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Over right right around that two. Yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Last year it was a split SEC Coach of the
- 13:24Speaker 3: Year between Shane.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Biemer and Clark Lee. You can split that award, uh yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 4: card and half.
- 13:29Speaker 3: So Clark Lee won the SEC Coaches Coach of the
- 13:32Speaker 3: Year and Shane Biemer won the A P and USA
- 13:34Speaker 3: Today SEC Coach.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Of the Year. That's the L S U, U s
- 13:37Speaker 4: C situation. It is. There's only one. It's both the
- 13:42Speaker 4: White House. I don't go to the.
- 13:43Speaker 3: White House for that. But again, there's one Crystal Ball
- 13:45Speaker 3: and it's some miles.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Up the road but right near the Mississippi River. Clark
- 13:51Speaker 4: Lee could be in this conversation too. If our boy.
- 13:55Speaker 7: Diego pop, Yeah, because I'm sitting here trying to think
- 13:59Speaker 7: who I think is gonna exceed expectations, and I don't
- 14:03Speaker 7: know if Vanderbilt will, but Clark Lee's here's one.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Of the things that we have to remember, and I
- 14:08Speaker 3: know we talked about it often. The teams that are
- 14:10Speaker 3: not at the top. So the teams that actually are
- 14:12Speaker 3: at the top Texas, Georgia and Alabama as far as
- 14:15Speaker 3: the first three teams ranked in the SEC, we don't
- 14:18Speaker 3: know what we're going to get at quarterback. We don't
- 14:20Speaker 3: like we think we know with Arch, but we don't know.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Can Ty Simpson be a good player?
- 14:26Speaker 4: Hey can be.
- 14:27Speaker 3: We don't know Ken Gunnar Stockton, same situation. But the
- 14:30Speaker 3: thing that's going to be interesting is being healthy. So
- 14:34Speaker 3: health is important. Obviously, Florida's got one. We certainly have
- 14:38Speaker 3: one at LSU, Oklahoma's got one. South Carolina's got one.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Like those teams that are in that that tier that's
- 14:47Speaker 3: maybe right underneath those other teams to a lot of
- 14:51Speaker 3: people across the country, Well, they've got the most important
- 14:54Speaker 3: position figured out. So the expectations that they have have
- 15:00Speaker 3: a higher ceiling, I think because they've got that position
- 15:03Speaker 3: figured out. Like the top teams right now, Ty Simpson
- 15:06Speaker 3: could go out there and be awful. Gunner Stockton can
- 15:08Speaker 3: go out there and just be a guy, right arch
- 15:12Speaker 3: Manny can just be good but not great. We've seen
- 15:16Speaker 3: the other quarterbacks. We have seen Lenora Sellers win a
- 15:18Speaker 3: game by himself. We have seen Garrett nus Meyer lead
- 15:21Speaker 3: LSU versus Old Miss when it looked like they were
- 15:23Speaker 3: left for dead on a touchdown drive to tie the game,
- 15:26Speaker 3: first playoff, overtime, game over, get off the field, and.
- 15:30Speaker 4: We know that.
- 15:32Speaker 3: So like to me, like that's what makes those teams
- 15:34Speaker 3: in those kind of like we're talking about, like in
- 15:36Speaker 3: that middle tier, because they've got the guy that can
- 15:39Speaker 3: go take over a game, get on a six game heater,
- 15:42Speaker 3: and those other teams they think they got their guy.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Certainly Texas does, but you just don't know. We're gonna
- 15:49Speaker 4: find out in.
- 15:52Speaker 5: Uh eight days, we are gonna find We're gonna learn
- 15:54Speaker 5: a lot.
- 15:57Speaker 3: We're not gonna learn a lot about like some of
- 15:59Speaker 3: these situations when you're in Long Island, but I get
- 16:01Speaker 3: it that's true.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Well, we're gonna learn about mister ark, when do I
- 16:07Speaker 5: stop saying that gotta gotta try to humble.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I must say, imagine thinking we don't know what we're
- 16:16Speaker 3: going to get from March NFL MVP this year.
- 16:21Speaker 6: Look at.
- 16:23Speaker 5: I mean the fact that there is a mock draft
- 16:28Speaker 5: for twenty twenty six that has him going number one overall.
- 16:33Speaker 4: It's absolutely ridiculous. If I had he's not a sor.
- 16:37Speaker 3: You know, if I had a number one pick, I'd
- 16:40Speaker 3: go Central Plumbing or always number one, pick number one
- 16:44Speaker 3: in your program and in your heart. Cinra Plumbing dot
- 16:46Speaker 3: org twenty five, nine, five, eighty five, fifty two, twenty
- 16:48Speaker 3: four seven, weekend, game day, holiday, emergency services. They'll always
- 16:52Speaker 3: be there for you if you want to go tankle
- 16:54Speaker 3: said they have that tankless water heater.
- 16:55Speaker 4: You know they can do that.
- 16:56Speaker 3: You're looking to remodel at your home, at your business,
- 16:58Speaker 3: They've got you covered there as well, not only in

- 17:08Speaker 3: continue talking SEC talk a little New Orleans Saints, what
- 17:12Speaker 3: we want to see in this final preseason game, and
- 17:15Speaker 3: Herb Benson from the SEC League Office will also join
- 17:17Speaker 3: us at nine to forty more OTV off the bench.
- 17:24Speaker 3: All right, it is always a great time to go
- 17:26Speaker 3: for dose. It is the perfect tailgating beers. So when
- 17:30Speaker 3: you're getting planned and ready to go, like Flynn said,
- 17:33Speaker 3: that is coming up here very very soon.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Maybe it's in Clemson, South Carolina.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Maybe you're going to take in the away game and
- 17:39Speaker 3: start your tailgate process there. Maybe it's when you come
- 17:41Speaker 3: back home against the Louisiana Tech. Whoever it is, do
- 17:45Speaker 3: sekis is the answer. It is always the answer. Make
- 17:48Speaker 3: sure the ice chest is filled, ready to go with
- 17:50Speaker 3: some ice cold dough sequies, go for dose.
- 17:53Speaker 5: It's Friday, the week is over, about to wrap up
- 17:56Speaker 5: the work creek.
- 17:57Speaker 4: What better time to go to the store.

- 18:02Speaker 5: pack of that delicious Mexican Olaga, the green bottle can,

- 18:09Speaker 5: We got college football tomorrow, we got some pre season

- 18:15Speaker 5: enjoy the weekend with the little dough seties. Go for
- 18:17Speaker 5: dose delite some beers drink responsibly, Hey do.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Do do.
- 18:33Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves. Gets off the
- 18:35Speaker 1: bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 18:38Speaker 9: Ca Michelle fight for that white goat this one for them,
- 18:42Speaker 9: hood girls, them good girl straight masterpiece, silent Violin, living
- 18:47Speaker 9: it up in the city.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Got chucked so with Saint La Ron gotta.
- 18:51Speaker 9: Kiss myself, I'm so pretty, Police and Dragon a band
- 19:08Speaker 9: breaking girlsit. Hallelujah, Girls said, hallelujah. Girls said to hallelujah.
- 19:16Speaker 9: Because I tell Bunk, don't give it to you, because.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Because I'm temptive. It's Saturday, nine weeks. I don't believe it.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Just watch all right, Welcome BACKO TV, one of four,
- 19:29Speaker 3: five ESPN, Matton Rouge.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Let's go around the room right now.
- 19:35Speaker 3: The one thing that you want to see in the
- 19:38Speaker 3: final tune up the last preseason game for the New
- 19:42Speaker 3: Orleans Saints would be.
- 19:46Speaker 4: I'm stealing it because I want to go first.
- 19:48Speaker 3: I want to see protection for whoever's playing quarterback in
- 19:53Speaker 3: the middle interior portion of the offensive line. I wanted
- 19:57Speaker 3: to look like a professional football team offense of line.
- 20:01Speaker 3: I want the quarterback, whoever it is, to have the
- 20:04Speaker 3: chance and the opportunity to show what he can do
- 20:07Speaker 3: because he has protection like he should in a National
- 20:10Speaker 3: Football League game. I want the offensive line to also
- 20:13Speaker 3: open up holes for the running back, right I mean,
- 20:16Speaker 3: reports are the Saints are looking to trade for a
- 20:18Speaker 3: running back. I think you actually have a good running
- 20:21Speaker 3: back room. The problem is you don't have spaces opened
- 20:25Speaker 3: up for any of the running backs, and so I
- 20:28Speaker 3: don't think you have a running back problem. I think
- 20:31Speaker 3: you have an offensive line interior offensive line problem right now.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Hopefully with Eric McCoy in there, it shores everything up.
- 20:38Speaker 3: I think he is one of the best centers in
- 20:40Speaker 3: the National Football League.
- 20:42Speaker 4: I need to see that. I want to see it.
- 20:44Speaker 3: I need to see these quarterbacks with an actual NFL
- 20:47Speaker 3: pocket and with a chance.
- 20:50Speaker 5: I want to see a running game. The best way
- 20:53Speaker 5: to help a young quarterback out is the very capable
- 21:00Speaker 5: in the running game be aggressive with it. I want
- 21:02Speaker 5: to see run blocking. I want to see them pushing
- 21:05Speaker 5: guys around. I don't know if it's gonna happen, but
- 21:07Speaker 5: that's what I'd like to see. And again, I don't
- 21:10Speaker 5: think quarterback has been the issue in the preseason games
- 21:14Speaker 5: on offense leading to this point, we've seen the quarterbacks
- 21:17Speaker 5: make reads. We've seen them both make throws. We've seen
- 21:20Speaker 5: them do good things. Now, whether they become really great
- 21:22Speaker 5: quarterbacks is all going to come down to the fourth
- 21:25Speaker 5: quarter of many games, and that's where good quarterbacks separate
- 21:28Speaker 5: themselves in the fourth quarter.
- 21:29Speaker 4: We don't know what's going to happen in that situation
- 21:32Speaker 4: until you get to the regular season.
- 21:33Speaker 5: But control the line of scrimmage from a running game standpoint,
- 21:37Speaker 5: let the play action speak for itself.
- 21:39Speaker 4: That is the best way to help a young quarterback.
- 21:42Speaker 4: I don't know if Caesar Rees is the guy.
- 21:44Speaker 5: Okay, we've talked about it at nausea, like the mistake
- 21:47Speaker 5: after mistake after mistake, right, I'd like to see somebody
- 21:50Speaker 5: else step up with that right guard position. So that's
- 21:52Speaker 5: what I want to see. It all has to do
- 21:53Speaker 5: with the offensive line. I think we have capable running backs.
- 21:56Speaker 5: I think we have capable quarterbacks. We have at least
- 22:00Speaker 5: a couple of capable receivers. You got a new one
- 22:03Speaker 5: coming in, and we got a new one, big boy,
- 22:08Speaker 5: twenty years old.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Older fella. It's fine, just seasoned, seasoned, that's right.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what I would like to see, And of
- 22:16Speaker 5: course I want to see the quarterbacks be efficient. But
- 22:18Speaker 5: they've proven that already that they can be efficient. Now
- 22:20Speaker 5: they're not gonna approve they can, but they're not gonna
- 22:22Speaker 5: prove at this game if you're gonna be a long
- 22:25Speaker 5: term starter or a great quarterback, because like I said,
- 22:28Speaker 5: that's gonna come down to the game winning drives. It's
- 22:30Speaker 5: gonna come down to how you play a big moment.
- 22:32Speaker 5: So you don't get those big moments of preseason games.
- 22:34Speaker 5: You just don't do it. You get third downs, you
- 22:36Speaker 5: get red zone plays, but that's like really a judging
- 22:39Speaker 5: and grady and how efficient you can be at work
- 22:41Speaker 5: in the offense. We'll see when the regular season come down,
- 22:43Speaker 5: which quarterback can make those like game changing plays and
- 22:46Speaker 5: who can avoid the opposite type of game changing plays.
- 22:50Speaker 5: But you can't do it without an offensive line. You
- 22:52Speaker 5: can't do it without a running game. It ain't gonna happen.
- 22:55Speaker 4: Like that one. I think that certainly needs to happen.
- 22:58Speaker 7: Alandra kind of ties in with y'all's a little bit
- 23:01Speaker 7: because if all of that is working well, then we
- 23:04Speaker 7: will score a touchdown in the first half like we
- 23:06Speaker 7: have not done in the past.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Stupid.
- 23:11Speaker 6: I would love to see us get out in front.
- 23:16Speaker 4: How about that.
- 23:17Speaker 7: But also I want to see the defense kind of
- 23:19Speaker 7: keep doing what it's doing. I mean, it's probably the
- 23:22Speaker 7: strongest part of this team.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Game giving up.
- 23:27Speaker 7: Yeah, so I want them to stay consistent and hopefully
- 23:32Speaker 7: healthy and just keep doing what they're doing. But yeah,
- 23:35Speaker 7: keep it simple, stupid score a touchdown?
- 23:37Speaker 4: Love that one in the first half. Yeah, please, I'll
- 23:39Speaker 4: take any but yes, please, First we.
- 23:42Speaker 6: Did until the fourth quarter last game.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Heyday, interior d line.
- 23:47Speaker 8: As good as the defense have played, you got gashed
- 23:50Speaker 8: in the run game a little bit, a little bit
- 23:52Speaker 8: too much. If you can't run the ball and you
- 23:54Speaker 8: can't stop the run, that is a recipe for disaster.
- 23:57Speaker 8: Just ask the Dallas Cowboys who were lasting both last
- 23:59Speaker 8: year year. I think the defense is a hole. Has
- 24:02Speaker 8: done a good job, but those those tackles want to
- 24:04Speaker 8: see a little bit more from them. But overall, I'm
- 24:07Speaker 8: keeping an eye on the defense because we know the
- 24:09Speaker 8: problems on offense.
- 24:14Speaker 4: The whole team. How about that. Just just watch everything.
- 24:17Speaker 8: The punting battle, the battle of They got a punter
- 24:21Speaker 8: battle between James burn Up and Kay Kroger.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Talk about that one time Kroger South Carolina. I think
- 24:30Speaker 4: he went to sec BD days twice and ball.
- 24:37Speaker 6: For maybe tell like he's.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Yeah, the tackles are great, but if your guards suck,
- 24:46Speaker 3: it doesn't matter, does not matter, and like you know,
- 24:49Speaker 3: you'll be better at center because McCloy hadn't played.
- 24:52Speaker 4: But those are your starting guards. They don't suck. You
- 24:54Speaker 4: just have a lot to work on. They suck, said,
- 25:00Speaker 4: don't suck. I mean, it's the difference Flynn.
- 25:04Speaker 3: If you're in your five four or five whatever he's
- 25:07Speaker 3: in in the NFL and you pass up a big
- 25:09Speaker 3: guy to go to a little guy, I can't.
- 25:12Speaker 5: They say that the jump you make from year five
- 25:16Speaker 5: to six is one of the biggest in your career.
- 25:20Speaker 4: They've always said it. We're waiting for it.
- 25:23Speaker 3: They've always said, hey, let me pass up on this
- 25:25Speaker 3: defensive tackle to go to a linebacker. No, poop, that's
- 25:29Speaker 3: not my responsibility. Spencer Raler gets a face mask and
- 25:32Speaker 3: that he just was trying not to give up the gap.
- 25:34Speaker 3: There never know new offense, you know, Yeah, yep, just wait,
- 25:41Speaker 3: he might be all pro by the end of the year.
- 25:44Speaker 4: I'll wait and I'll just continue to wait. Wait. That's
- 25:51Speaker 4: don't agreement. That made me even more sad. Thinging that
- 25:53Speaker 4: thinking about will.
- 25:55Speaker 3: All right, we'll take a break more OTB when we
- 25:57Speaker 3: come back on one of four five ESPN band route
- 26:00Speaker 3: off the bench, I go to All Star Twetter at
- 26:03Speaker 3: Batderies dot com buy new leasing renting. Everything is available.
- 26:06Speaker 3: What a great time to check out the rentals per
- 26:09Speaker 3: day rental prices. Everything is available better prices and you'll

- 26:14Speaker 3: rent a car. And also like you might need a truck,
- 26:18Speaker 3: maybe you need a van, maybe you need a full
- 26:21Speaker 3: size suv. You don't need like this little compact car
- 26:24Speaker 3: where you feel like when you press the gas you're
- 26:27Speaker 3: one step away from uh Fred Flintstone in your foot
- 26:30Speaker 3: going through it right, because it's so small and it's
- 26:32Speaker 3: like not a very nice car.
- 26:34Speaker 4: You get everything over at All Stars, So go check
- 26:37Speaker 4: those out.

- 26:44Speaker 5: a Toyota before, it never been in one. Well, I
- 26:46Speaker 5: can tell you there's a reason that Alvin Flynn bought
- 26:48Speaker 5: a Toyota for his two daughters for their first vehicle,
- 26:52Speaker 5: because they're reliable, they're safe, and there are great cars
- 26:55Speaker 5: for your family. So go check them out to day.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Go see their inventory right there on the website all
- 26:59Speaker 5: start toy dot com.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Get down.
- 27:08Speaker 10: Paid the cof beat the Bath.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Paid the beat both two thousand and seven Champs Purple
- 27:17Speaker 1: and Gold to the core. This is off the bench
- 27:20Speaker 1: with Hester and Flynn, Matt and Rouge is going to
- 27:23Speaker 1: for all things Louisiana' sports. What see.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Look at me?
- 27:35Speaker 1: No?
- 27:35Speaker 4: What see?
- 27:38Speaker 10: You paid the cough beat it both paid the cough
- 27:49Speaker 10: beat the ball.
- 27:52Speaker 11: Look at me?
- 27:54Speaker 7: No?
- 27:55Speaker 4: What see.
- 27:57Speaker 9: You bad?
- 28:02Speaker 3: All right, we gotta kind of quickly do this right
- 28:05Speaker 3: here because we are going to take a break, like
- 28:08Speaker 3: extremely extremely early certainly for us, kind of kind of
- 28:13Speaker 3: actually on time. We gotta put together a little pontoon
- 28:18Speaker 3: parlay here for week zero. And so the way this works,
- 28:23Speaker 3: Matthew is you take a game each week, one that
- 28:27Speaker 3: you feel strongest about, and you give it to the group.
- 28:32Speaker 3: We have four plays, we put it together and we
- 28:35Speaker 3: parlay it and we see if we hit or many
- 28:39Speaker 3: many times. Last year three to the four ward hitt
- 28:40Speaker 3: and I can tell who missed. Okay, I got to
- 28:43Speaker 3: talk about some somebody that's not here.
- 28:44Speaker 4: That's wrong.
- 28:46Speaker 3: So you've got Iowa State, Kansas State. Now, if you
- 28:50Speaker 3: can find a line on Idaho State UNLV, go ahead.
- 28:53Speaker 3: I know UNOV like is a twenty six and a
- 28:56Speaker 3: half point favorite, but not every sports book is going
- 28:59Speaker 3: to have that since it's an CS team. You got
- 29:01Speaker 3: Fresno State in Kansas, you have Sam Houston and Western Kentucky,
- 29:05Speaker 3: and you have Stanford and Hawaii.
- 29:09Speaker 4: To find these lines, I got it for you right here.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Iowa State, Kansas State minus three for Kansas State UNLV,
- 29:17Speaker 3: Idaho State, minus twenty six and a half for UNLV,
- 29:21Speaker 3: Fresno State and Kansas minus thirteen for the Jayhawks, Sam
- 29:26Speaker 3: Houston and Western Kentucky, minus ten and a half for
- 29:29Speaker 3: Western Kentucky, Stanford and Hawaii, minus two and a half
- 29:33Speaker 3: for Hawaii.
- 29:36Speaker 4: Shoure Are we all just pig in one? Yeah? All right?
- 29:38Speaker 4: I want Hawaii to cover the two and a half.
- 29:40Speaker 4: You want Hawaii to cover I want Hawaii to cover
- 29:42Speaker 4: the two and a half, all right? Oh man, God,
- 29:44Speaker 4: they have one of the.
- 29:45Speaker 8: Best winning percentages at home and one of the worst
- 29:47Speaker 8: on the road. Do the debt travel Stanford not great.
- 29:51Speaker 8: Lost a lot from last year as well, so I
- 29:53Speaker 8: like Hawaii.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Sir, what are you doing?
- 29:55Speaker 6: What's happening?
- 29:55Speaker 4: Why are you leaning overlooking at my work?
- 29:58Speaker 5: I didn't memorize it everything. He just said with the lines.
- 30:02Speaker 5: It's looking at the screen.
- 30:03Speaker 4: But Alandre, are you ready to go? Do you have
- 30:06Speaker 4: a pick?
- 30:08Speaker 6: Skip me? If you have one ready, skip you if.
- 30:10Speaker 4: You are not ready? All right, I will go. I
- 30:17Speaker 4: have one.
- 30:18Speaker 6: I'm leaning toward.
- 30:18Speaker 4: But I'm gonna go under fifty one and a half
- 30:23Speaker 4: in Iowa State, Kansas City. I'm gonna take the under there.
- 30:27Speaker 4: I like that.
- 30:29Speaker 5: I'm gonna go over sixty three and a half Boise State,
- 30:31Speaker 5: South Florida over. That's a technically weak one, is it really?
- 30:35Speaker 4: Yeah? It's August twenty eighth, But no, the rules.
- 30:38Speaker 5: That's why I was looking at your screen just this
- 30:40Speaker 5: Saturday games. So I was looking at your screen.
- 30:43Speaker 6: Mm okay, I'm gonna go Fresno State to cover.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Don't hate that plus thirteen Fresno plus thirteen. All right? Flynn,
- 30:57Speaker 4: Oh my god, what is this guy? You don't you
- 31:00Speaker 4: don't you don't have ESPN dot com. I'm literally on
- 31:03Speaker 4: the ESPN dot com.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Well, okay, I'm on the ESPN dot com, all right,
- 31:07Speaker 5: go ahead, go ahead, go ahead, go ahead, Bud, come on,
- 31:11Speaker 5: we got to hurt.
- 31:12Speaker 4: We gotta take a break. We'll go Ido State UNLV
- 31:16Speaker 4: under sixty five and a half. You know, Dan moll
- 31:19Speaker 4: and Scotia, Right, yeah, sure do did you really do? Nope?
- 31:26Speaker 4: Of course not. Yeah, are you're gonna go under? All right?
- 31:31Speaker 4: All right, So here's your pontoon parlay.
- 31:33Speaker 3: You have Hawaii minus two and a half against Stanford.
- 31:36Speaker 3: You have Iowa State, Kansas State under fifty one and
- 31:38Speaker 3: a half. You have Fresno State plus thirteen against Kansas
- 31:42Speaker 3: and UNLV and Idaho State under.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Actually sixty No, yeah, we can't do that. What go ahead? Like,
- 31:51Speaker 4: what are you doing on the website? Finally it's ESPN
- 31:54Speaker 4: dot com. I was under, I was, I was uh,
- 31:56Speaker 4: I was under top twenty five is only doing that?
- 31:58Speaker 4: I got everybody? Now, okay, hurry Kansas. No, that's not
- 32:04Speaker 4: how PRESO strategy. Because one of them, Oh my god,
- 32:16Speaker 4: CTE is real people. We go to the first one. Jesus,
- 32:20Speaker 4: Mary and Joseph heard Vincent sec office. When we come back. Good,

- 34:00Speaker 3: One fantastic And throughout the show, as you can imagine,
- 34:02Speaker 3: we've talked about the nine game SEC schedule and you
- 34:05Speaker 3: and I get a chance to you know, hang out
- 34:07Speaker 3: see each other down in Destin every year for the
- 34:09Speaker 3: SEC Spring meetings, and I know this was a big
- 34:12Speaker 3: part of the conversation, so Herb, I was just like
- 34:15Speaker 3: from that moment where you had you know, a lot
- 34:18Speaker 3: of people were in favor of it, but you still
- 34:19Speaker 3: had some that were asking questions, like from that moment
- 34:22Speaker 3: until yesterday's announcement, kind of what was that process like
- 34:25Speaker 3: to get to this point?
- 34:27Speaker 12: Well, you know, I think you have to go back
- 34:29Speaker 12: a lot further than that to really capitulate everything that's
- 34:32Speaker 12: taking place to get us to where we are today.
- 34:35Speaker 12: In the announcement that we made yesterday, we had discussions
- 34:38Speaker 12: about our schedule even going back to twenty nineteen, before
- 34:41Speaker 12: of Oklahoma Texas even joined the league. I can remember
- 34:44Speaker 12: there was a meeting schedule in twenty twenty at the
- 34:47Speaker 12: SEC men's basketball tournament where our presidents, presidents and chancellors
- 34:51Speaker 12: gather every year, and this was on the agenda to
- 34:54Speaker 12: talk about the football schedule. That's when COVID hit and
- 34:58Speaker 12: that discussion never took and so things played out. You know,
- 35:04Speaker 12: after that din Oklahoma Texas joined the league, and I
- 35:07Speaker 12: think there's a natural progression that what the conference expands,
- 35:09Speaker 12: you talk about adding games to the schedule, But the
- 35:12Speaker 12: initial discussion about adjusting our schedule emanated from talk about
- 35:18Speaker 12: wanting our student athletes and our fans to be able
- 35:22Speaker 12: to see more teams from around the league. You know,
- 35:24Speaker 12: in the old divisional days, he only saw a couple
- 35:26Speaker 12: of other teams through other divisions rarely because they they
- 35:32Speaker 12: did not rotate through your schedule very often. And so
- 35:35Speaker 12: the discussion was, well, how can we get our student
- 35:37Speaker 12: athletes on the other campuses are facing other teams more often.
- 35:41Speaker 12: That dynamics changed a little bit with the transfer policy,
- 35:43Speaker 12: but we still have interest in our fans being able
- 35:46Speaker 12: to go to other campuses, go to other stadiums experience
- 35:49Speaker 12: new rivalries, and so I think that's where it all started,
- 35:52Speaker 12: was even way back then, you know, bringing it up
- 35:55Speaker 12: to this year's this year's spring meetings, I think we
- 35:59Speaker 12: had to healthy discussions there by the discussions through the
- 36:02Speaker 12: ads themselves separately, with football coaches together, football coaches and
- 36:06Speaker 12: athletics directors, and then conversations just considered continued after that.
- 36:11Speaker 12: So I think it's I think it was an important
- 36:13Speaker 12: announcement yesterday. I think it was a look to the
- 36:16Speaker 12: future for our athletics directors and our presidences and chancellors,
- 36:20Speaker 12: and I think it's good for SEC fans.
- 36:24Speaker 5: Yeah, we kind of reading there's been a lot of discussions,
- 36:27Speaker 5: certainly on this show and other show and just kind
- 36:29Speaker 5: of around the SEC about with this new scheduling, there
- 36:32Speaker 5: is going to be three common opponents for every team
- 36:36Speaker 5: that's they're going to play every single year. I want
- 36:38Speaker 5: to kind of know how that decision making process is
- 36:41Speaker 5: gonna kind of kind of unfold, and will each individual
- 36:45Speaker 5: team have some sort of input in that final decision.
- 36:49Speaker 12: Yeah, there's some advanced lavalries and part of this part
- 36:54Speaker 12: of this structure, which is a you know, three annual
- 36:57Speaker 12: opponents six sprintaning opponents was to maintain some of those
- 37:00Speaker 12: traditional robberies. I think people know who those robberies are.
- 37:03Speaker 12: Then there's you know, you know, you have schedule balance
- 37:05Speaker 12: as much as you can. You don't want to load
- 37:08Speaker 12: up one team with too many difficult annual rivals.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Uh.
- 37:13Speaker 12: There's there's geography uh involved. I think there's a number
- 37:18Speaker 12: of different things, and so that'll that'll that'll play out
- 37:20Speaker 12: as we and we go through it, and certainly there's
- 37:22Speaker 12: discussions with the schools as well, so that announcement will
- 37:26Speaker 12: come up. I see it's already become a parlor game,
- 37:28Speaker 12: you know, immediately after that, after the announcement yesterday, A
- 37:31Speaker 12: mighty god, who's it going to be? It's gonna be
- 37:33Speaker 12: the same as the ones that were announced in twenty
- 37:34Speaker 12: twenty two, with it never were any announced in twenty
- 37:37Speaker 12: twenty two. There was some discussion internally about who might
- 37:40Speaker 12: who it might be, and that discussion kind of took
- 37:42Speaker 12: off and a lot of people guessed at what they were.
- 37:46Speaker 12: And so you can you can search the internet and
- 37:48Speaker 12: find all kinds of people who reported different scenarios. But
- 37:53Speaker 12: but none of that, none of that holds right now.
- 37:56Speaker 12: So that'll be a big announcement when we have it, obviously,
- 37:59Speaker 12: because of the anticipation is already building.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Yeah, with that question, I mean we certainly talked about
- 38:03Speaker 3: it here today and Glenna and I talking about teams
- 38:05Speaker 3: that we had, you know, great games against when we
- 38:07Speaker 3: were playing for LSU, and you don't want to see
- 38:09Speaker 3: those go away. But I guess the question is, like,
- 38:11Speaker 3: when you look at those things, it's hard her because like,
- 38:13Speaker 3: do you go to recent memories that like the last
- 38:15Speaker 3: ten years, last fifteen, last twenty years of teams that
- 38:18Speaker 3: have played and now they're memorable games, or do you
- 38:20Speaker 3: go back one hundred years? Just like how far you
- 38:23Speaker 3: kind of go back in the thought process of these
- 38:25Speaker 3: two teams playing each other because of the history between
- 38:27Speaker 3: the two teams.
- 38:28Speaker 12: Yeah, and I think you make it more recent, you know,
- 38:30Speaker 12: you have some recncy to it to make sure that
- 38:33Speaker 12: you're measuring strength of programs in a more recent time frame.
- 38:39Speaker 12: And you're right, you know, you go back to your
- 38:40Speaker 12: you guys played it, you guys to play at LSU.
- 38:42Speaker 12: And so there's a time when LSU's big Robbert it
- 38:43Speaker 12: was was old.
- 38:44Speaker 10: Miss.
- 38:44Speaker 12: There's a time when it seemed like in the nineties
- 38:47Speaker 12: it was Auburn. You know, then there's Alabama at the time,
- 38:51Speaker 12: there was at the end of the year, there was
- 38:52Speaker 12: the Arkansas game. And so you know, who's the rival
- 38:55Speaker 12: for every school. And one of the things we're not
- 38:59Speaker 12: calling it is permanent opponents because we'll take a certain
- 39:05Speaker 12: time period and then relook at it. You know, those
- 39:07Speaker 12: those annual rivals could change over the course of time,
- 39:11Speaker 12: but we'll look at it and we'll we'll we'll have
- 39:15Speaker 12: a big announcement at some point, and I think people
- 39:17Speaker 12: take interest in it.
- 39:18Speaker 5: So, Herb, what do you think is going to happen?
- 39:19Speaker 5: So we got there, there will be nine sec schedule games.
- 39:22Speaker 5: What do you think is going to happen to those
- 39:24Speaker 5: other three games? They're still going to be kind of
- 39:26Speaker 5: the required power for non conference schedule or do you so,
- 39:31Speaker 5: do you think that's gonna go away? Or do you
- 39:32Speaker 5: think one of the other, like the Group of five
- 39:34Speaker 5: game will go away?
- 39:35Speaker 4: In a lot of these teams schedule, that's that's.
- 39:37Speaker 12: One of the requirements is that you still have to
- 39:38Speaker 12: play a team Yeah, yeah, Big ten or Big twelve
- 39:43Speaker 12: or Notre Dame. And so I think that you know,
- 39:47Speaker 12: that's ten Power Conference opponents for every team every year.
- 39:50Speaker 12: I don't think there's another conference in the country with
- 39:54Speaker 12: the rigor that already existed in the SEC schedule and
- 39:58Speaker 12: then now you had a ninth game continue the Power five,
- 40:02Speaker 12: Power four requirement. There's no other conference in the country
- 40:06Speaker 12: that has this difficult of a schedule as the Southeastern Conference.
- 40:10Speaker 12: I think it's great for fans. It's compelling, compelling games,
- 40:12Speaker 12: great interest, and I think that was part of the
- 40:16Speaker 12: motivation of our athletics directors and our presence and chancellors.
- 40:19Speaker 12: It's looking forward. It's looking to the long term good
- 40:23Speaker 12: of the Southeastern Conference, creating value for the league and
- 40:27Speaker 12: how we would be perceived in the future and how
- 40:30Speaker 12: we compete in the future.
- 40:32Speaker 4: I love that. Just real quick on the way out, Herb,
- 40:34Speaker 4: we can't thank enough for your time.
- 40:36Speaker 3: The official OTB stance is if Lshum Florida play every year,
- 40:40Speaker 3: we wouldn't hate that.
- 40:42Speaker 12: Okay, all right, we'll factor that into Okay, yeah, if we.
- 40:46Speaker 4: Get a vote.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure you know, every year since nineteen seventy one,
- 40:49Speaker 3: So we'll throw the facts out there. Herb, you truly
- 40:52Speaker 3: are the best man. I cannot thank you enough. I
- 40:53Speaker 3: know today is a crazy day for you, So thanks
- 40:55Speaker 3: for getting for a couple of minutes here.
- 40:57Speaker 12: All right, thanks guys, good luck you see all.
- 40:59Speaker 4: Right there he is HERB.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Benson, Associate Commissioner of the Southeastern Conference.
- 41:03Speaker 4: With a lot of news there. That was great. Yeah.
- 41:06Speaker 4: Uh the power for stuff. Love it.
- 41:08Speaker 3: There's gonna be some people right now, probably people building
- 41:11Speaker 3: that are punching air, just punching it, just so mad.
- 41:14Speaker 4: All the smoke are all and a power for opponent.
- 41:22Speaker 4: I would love it. Let's play Penn State. Let's do it.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Wouldn't that be sweet? Yeah?
- 41:27Speaker 3: Go there, you held a wide out situation. They come
- 41:29Speaker 3: back here and whatever color y'all want to choose. You
- 41:31Speaker 3: can do that too if you want to. Or you
- 41:32Speaker 3: can just have a good old Cajun drunk fest. You
- 41:35Speaker 3: can do whatever, it doesn't matter. All the good teams.
- 41:39Speaker 4: That was a great We appreciate her. Yeah. I like
- 41:43Speaker 4: today's visit for him. He kind of gave me a
- 41:46Speaker 4: schedule and I was like, we will move our closs.
- 41:48Speaker 3: We'll just do that one for you. So yeah, uh
- 41:51Speaker 3: so I better listen to us. So on the Florida thing,
- 41:53Speaker 3: I'm sure we get a vote. Yeah, I mean he
- 41:55Speaker 3: just told commissioners, thank you. You got nervous because he
- 41:57Speaker 3: didn't he didn't mention that when he's talking. I know,
- 41:59Speaker 3: I know he went to miss and they skipped Florida went.
- 42:05Speaker 3: So a couple of things that that did stand out
- 42:07Speaker 3: to me, that the power for stuff love that, uh
- 42:10Speaker 3: and also like more recent history between the two teams.
- 42:15Speaker 4: That's important. It's important bouncing it out. It's not necessarily
- 42:18Speaker 4: gonna like.
- 42:19Speaker 3: So like two maybe that make a lot of sense
- 42:21Speaker 3: to the ones like, hey, we're gonna give you little breathe. Yeah,
- 42:24Speaker 3: so like if you're looking at LSU, it might not
- 42:26Speaker 3: be Florida, Alabama Auburn. It might be Florida, Alabama or Arkansas.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Right so little yeah, good information there from her boot. Yeah,
- 42:37Speaker 3: So the biggest takeaway for me was the hey, more
- 42:40Speaker 3: recent like so to a Launder's point text A and
- 42:45Speaker 3: m now is fully in play because that recently is
- 42:48Speaker 3: certainly a thing.
- 42:52Speaker 6: I'm trying to edit the show right now and I
- 42:54Speaker 6: just got to the part.
- 42:55Speaker 11: Where Matt picked the game that you did on the
- 42:58Speaker 11: opposite But it's a good way not to go over
- 43:02Speaker 11: the in your point. But I do think Kansas is
- 43:06Speaker 11: going to cover that one. But obviously, you know I was.
- 43:10Speaker 4: Trying to I was trying to scramble. That's mad. They're hydrated.
- 43:15Speaker 4: They're very hydrated. Fresno State's not. Actually they aren't. You're right.
- 43:21Speaker 4: I love your pick. Thank you.
- 43:23Speaker 2: No, you don't.
- 43:24Speaker 6: Yeah, now the opposite of it.
- 43:26Speaker 4: I'm sorry. I wasn't listening to any of else picks
- 43:27Speaker 4: and I was trying to get the internet to work
- 43:29Speaker 4: on my computer. I don't know.
- 43:35Speaker 6: My Texas A and M take was dumb.
- 43:37Speaker 3: No, that's a great I actually I think her just
- 43:39Speaker 3: kind of confirms your take. Actually, in my mind, yeah,
- 43:43Speaker 3: I think you did. Recency means something.
- 43:47Speaker 7: So uh.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Speaking of recency, there recently has been some heat in
- 43:52Speaker 3: the Gulf of America and heating up a little bit,
- 43:54Speaker 3: a little action.
- 43:55Speaker 4: Going on there.
- 43:55Speaker 3: So if you want to make sure you have the
- 43:57Speaker 3: ultimate peace of mind, go to Boujo's Electrical dot Com
- 44:01Speaker 3: whole home generators over eighty in stock right now.

- 44:18Speaker 5: your light's come back on. It's incredible peace of mind.
- 44:20Speaker 3: Get ready, elect uh recap the pontoon parlay, y'all do
- 44:24Speaker 3: it real quick, Hawaii mis two and a half. I
- 44:26Speaker 3: would stay Kansastate under fifty one and a half Fresno
- 44:29Speaker 3: State plus thirteen one. We believe in the most UNLV
- 44:32Speaker 3: under sixty five and a half against Idaho State.
- 44:34Speaker 4: Feel real strong about that one. Yep, real strong.
- 44:39Speaker 3: It's a foxhole here even though we're stuck on trying
- 44:43Speaker 3: to figure out who we want LSU to play. Hey,
- 44:47Speaker 3: he also said Permanent doesn't like play it here.
- 44:50Speaker 4: That was big too. That was the other thing that
- 44:52Speaker 4: I wrote down.
- 44:53Speaker 3: Yeah, we could revisit this thing and don't know, six years,
- 44:57Speaker 3: eight years, ten years, I don't know that, but he said,
- 44:59Speaker 3: we'll reassess. That is an important note to the scheduling.
- 45:03Speaker 3: So I mean, great information by herb. Yeah, really clear.
- 45:07Speaker 3: It a lot of things up for us. So hey,
- 45:09Speaker 3: all right, so this is how we're going to end
- 45:10Speaker 3: today's show.
- 45:11Speaker 4: This is the last segment.
- 45:12Speaker 3: We're not going to do ass a bench because we
- 45:14Speaker 3: are going to play something that If you want the
- 45:17Speaker 3: soft schedule and you watch.
- 45:19Speaker 4: This and still have that opinion, you're not my friend pal.
- 45:40Speaker 3: And that's what you get when you play against Tiger
- 45:43Speaker 3: Stadium doing the gator trying.
- 45:45Speaker 2: To suck off the bench.
