Friday morning in East Baltimore turned chaotic when firefighters responded to a grass fire on Greenmount Avenue only to discover a dangerous underground gas leak — forcing the evacuation of an entire senior apartment building. With the help of Baltimore Gas and Electric and a full emergency response, crews quickly contained the blaze, but the incident triggered a multi-block lockdown from Preston to Biddle Streets.
