- 0:14Speaker 3: Shore broadcasting live and it led her to a jut.
- 0:18Speaker 3: This this is the.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You began, you lean up?
- 0:26Speaker 5: Can you win me down? Get you find me down?
- 0:29Speaker 1: That come to w comes to pet, it comes to Mark.
- 0:33Speaker 6: Is it just.
- 0:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it begin, I'm gonna go on the
- 0:40Speaker 1: way you began. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. I'm listening to the
- 0:47Speaker 1: Sports Shock Show. I am the Sports Shock Winge Candy.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Good morning to you. As we wind down, and now
- 0:55Speaker 1: I mean we have wine down. The month of February. Uh,
- 0:59Speaker 1: Black History Month coming to a close. We're standing on
- 1:02Speaker 1: the twenty seventh day this year. There's no leap year,
- 1:06Speaker 1: so tomorrow is the last day of the month. And
- 1:11Speaker 1: sports just keep on rolling between me trying to figure
- 1:17Speaker 1: out when I can fit in some unrivaled three on
- 1:20Speaker 1: three basketball which I still haven't caught, and the new
- 1:25Speaker 1: golf league, which I still haven't caught.
- 1:28Speaker 7: It.
- 1:29Speaker 1: It's just so much, mainly because my Auburn Tigers are rolling.
- 1:35Speaker 1: You know, I spend a lot of time, you know,
- 1:36Speaker 1: catching that are paying. Yeah, yeah, they played last night.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Got a little you know, a little work in real
- 1:42Speaker 1: quick on old miss Are Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it ain't right,
- 1:46Speaker 1: real high.
- 1:48Speaker 6: We won't.
- 1:49Speaker 1: We won't get into that because you know, you don't
- 1:51Speaker 1: want to seem like, you know one about to be bragging.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Next thing. You know, I'm walking around here like ant
- 1:56Speaker 1: man telling you how great I am. Where the War
- 1:59Speaker 1: Eagle T shirt at all? Yeah, never mind, I'm sorry.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I didn't even know I had this on. I didn't.
- 2:09Speaker 1: It's not bragging, No, I thought it was blue on
- 2:14Speaker 1: the Front War. You go to my tigers. Baby, when
- 2:19Speaker 1: you get on that wave, you gotta ride it. Don't
- 2:21Speaker 1: ever let nobody make you feel bad when you up up,
- 2:25Speaker 1: because you know what, one day you're gonna be down.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Think about it. You know, none of us ever thought
- 2:30Speaker 1: the Patriots would be drafted in the top five six
- 2:34Speaker 1: They had on such a long run. What about the
- 2:36Speaker 1: Great Spurs. You know some of those teams at the
- 2:39Speaker 1: bottom you never thought were gonna be there and how
- 2:42Speaker 1: they were going. But everybody, every dog has a day
- 2:45Speaker 1: in the sun. And right now Auburn is running red hot,
- 2:51Speaker 1: and it made me look at something we'll talk about
- 2:53Speaker 1: later in the show. Guys, command you. Greg is in here,
- 2:57Speaker 1: the bad producer representing the Lakers. Now that he's kind
- 3:02Speaker 1: of given into that the king is on the throne,
- 3:06Speaker 1: he's been thinking and whether you like it, you don't
- 3:10Speaker 1: like it, or don't like it, learn to love it
- 3:15Speaker 1: because it's the best thing it's been going for twenty
- 3:18Speaker 1: two years. Woo in the NBA, it ain't Big kne
- 3:23Speaker 1: the funny man himself in the building as well. College
- 3:28Speaker 1: basketball winding down, March Madness is close, but you know,
- 3:32Speaker 1: we got to finish with NBA. Most of the teams
- 3:37Speaker 1: are about twenty five games out. The Atlanta Hawks doing
- 3:41Speaker 1: battle last night, losing to Miami, Oka se beating Brooklyn.
- 3:46Speaker 1: You know, all the scores keep going through them. I
- 3:48Speaker 1: was listening to some guys talk about Jason Tatum, and
- 3:53Speaker 1: I think we talked about faces of the League. But
- 3:57Speaker 1: faces of the League has to of the NBA in
- 4:00Speaker 1: any league, really, A lot of it is the style.
- 4:08Speaker 1: The style and the flamboyancy are the things that drive
- 4:12Speaker 1: They drive you so much that you think a particular
- 4:16Speaker 1: player is better than someone else, but just because you
- 4:21Speaker 1: gave them style points yes, yes they were not better.
- 4:25Speaker 1: A lot of cads they could be less than, but
- 4:27Speaker 1: because they had style points and he come into the
- 4:30Speaker 1: locker room shot it wasn't boring, or he came in
- 4:34Speaker 1: the lambow, or he's good friends with Ben Affleck him
- 4:40Speaker 1: and Ben dap each other up before each game. After
- 4:45Speaker 1: pulling up, then you think, oh he is he or
- 4:48Speaker 1: she it's better And that's really how because they're looking
- 4:53Speaker 1: for a face. We talked about Anthony Edwards, but Jason
- 4:57Speaker 1: Tatum and the work and the body of work he's done,
- 4:59Speaker 1: nobody will brings his name up. And I started realizing
- 5:02Speaker 1: he kind of falls under that sword of Tim Duncan.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Is he is he the modern day Tim Duncan Well
- 5:13Speaker 1: to where it's just so clean and crisp and robotic,
- 5:17Speaker 1: and I don't really say anything. And I even got
- 5:21Speaker 1: a notable girlfriend, one of the R and B girls
- 5:27Speaker 1: that he dated, but she's not at the game in
- 5:30Speaker 1: the booth and we don't do the sideline antics. We
- 5:35Speaker 1: just do our love like love do. And I go
- 5:38Speaker 1: home and I ain't slap nobody. I don't have a
- 5:40Speaker 1: different kind of haircut. When I dunk on you, I
- 5:44Speaker 1: just kind of run back to the end. Tim Duncan right, Well,
- 5:47Speaker 1: I didn't say.
- 5:50Speaker 8: I wouldn't say Tim Duncan only because Tim Duncan was
- 5:54Speaker 8: more he was even more unassuming. Can you get like
- 5:59Speaker 8: like he's not in the We saw him in a
- 6:02Speaker 8: couple of commercials and at the commercial with Kobe Bryant
- 6:05Speaker 8: like early in his career, but then later on he
- 6:09Speaker 8: became more of a as a celebrity, just more local
- 6:12Speaker 8: to San Antonio, the big Fundamentally, we didn't see him
- 6:16Speaker 8: that way on the national stage now with Jason Tatum,
- 6:20Speaker 8: and he really didn't want that. Tim Duncan really didn't
- 6:23Speaker 8: like seek that out. Jason Tatum is seeking out?
- 6:28Speaker 1: When do I see him seeking it out a lot
- 6:30Speaker 1: other than other than taking advantage hold one beginning, other
- 6:33Speaker 1: than taking advantage of opportunities like McDonald's comes or shoot
- 6:39Speaker 1: those come and see to me. Those aren't me seeking
- 6:43Speaker 1: it out? Those me are the companies. My agent came
- 6:46Speaker 1: and said and said, we're gonna shoot this Dura sale
- 6:50Speaker 1: commercial and would you be interested in something outside of that?
- 6:55Speaker 8: When do we for him to say that nobody's recognizing
- 6:58Speaker 8: my accomplishments. I think he's seeking that kind of recognition
- 7:03Speaker 8: that kind of attention. Well, and I wanted to literally say,
- 7:06Speaker 8: no one is no one's appreciating all that.
- 7:08Speaker 1: And you remember a few years back he really embraced Kobe.
- 7:13Speaker 1: He's like that, I won't. I mean, that's his guy,
- 7:17Speaker 1: and I've seen it.
- 7:19Speaker 9: I think that more that he's fell back, Like you said,
- 7:22Speaker 9: he's more noticeable display your game because he and the
- 7:24Speaker 9: boss to self. Do you think about Jaalen Brown and himself?
- 7:27Speaker 9: You know they're quiet, they go do their job and
- 7:29Speaker 9: he just played. And I'm like with Greg when he
- 7:31Speaker 9: was asking for like that is nobody seeing what I'm doing?
- 7:34Speaker 9: But now we're seeing it.
- 7:35Speaker 5: You know.
- 7:36Speaker 1: It's just like, well, let me in this in this
- 7:40Speaker 1: media frenzy and you're doing an interview, someone brings up
- 7:47Speaker 1: a question and you and you're saying that statement is inflammatory. Well,
- 7:54Speaker 1: I would say today's media, not forty years ago. IM
- 7:57Speaker 1: talking about in today's media for how people talk. We
- 8:02Speaker 1: just saw Anthony Edwards tell Barack Obama I'm that dude
- 8:08Speaker 1: in his face. Yeah. I see them old heads over there,
- 8:11Speaker 1: the Rent and Lebron. But you need to get on
- 8:14Speaker 1: this man today. I'm from the North North that way.
- 8:20Speaker 1: As though President Obama was supposed to know what that means.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I mean he was, That's how he was talking to
- 8:27Speaker 1: He looked at him and damned he did also looked
- 8:33Speaker 1: at him and basically said, hey, guys, is he like that?
- 8:37Speaker 8: That's I mean, not that he has not that. Jason
- 8:39Speaker 8: tell mest you know, he went to the OA and
- 8:43Speaker 8: the President.
- 8:44Speaker 1: He went to the Olympics and then caused no stir.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Now see this is the thing sports shock really for
- 8:49Speaker 1: how he could have caused a stir. He sat there
- 8:52Speaker 1: and let Steve Kurse say what he wanted. Bottom send
- 8:55Speaker 1: him on and set him on the bench.
- 8:57Speaker 9: But that's gonna help him though what you're saying, though,
- 9:00Speaker 9: I'm what you're saying. It's gonna take ain't no help.
- 9:03Speaker 9: He's already where he's gonna be.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Nine years, gentlemen.
- 9:08Speaker 5: I honestly think that part of what separates, in my opinion,
- 9:12Speaker 5: their presentation Duncan and Tatum is that when he gets
- 9:17Speaker 5: interviewed after a game, Jason Tatum will.
- 9:19Speaker 1: At least use vocal inflections, his vocal tone will change.
- 9:23Speaker 5: Well, you know, me and the guys tried hard today,
- 9:26Speaker 5: Tim Duncan is, well, it was good monotone the whole
- 9:30Speaker 5: way through. Now, Tim Duncan Jason Tatum's playing accomplishments are
- 9:35Speaker 5: both seen the same way because they're not over the
- 9:38Speaker 5: top people. But Duncan accepted it and fitted himself into
- 9:43Speaker 5: that role. I'm just going to be serviceable. I'm gonna
- 9:47Speaker 5: get the work done. He never complained that nobody's recognizing
- 9:51Speaker 5: I got John Blaze. He never said that. Now, that
- 9:54Speaker 5: was his reality, but he never said it. Jason Tatum.
- 9:57Speaker 5: That what separated them from being the exact same person.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Jason Tatum was willing to go, hey, man, hey, y'all
- 10:04Speaker 5: ain't gonna say nothing.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Well, I'm not saying.
- 10:08Speaker 10: This.
- 10:09Speaker 1: When I say the same person, I'm saying being handled
- 10:12Speaker 1: where the other superstars names as though the King don't
- 10:19Speaker 1: sit in San Antonio, right Like, we ain't just one
- 10:23Speaker 1: back to back to back to back, you know what
- 10:24Speaker 1: I'm saying. That thing, and not that they're zero. They
- 10:27Speaker 1: play different position. Jason's Tatum game is more flair. Jim
- 10:33Speaker 1: Duncans was more sturdy and conventional how to play basketball.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I call them the fundamentals. I was just talking about
- 10:40Speaker 1: that kind of we're going to talk about everybody else
- 10:44Speaker 1: having the we're gonna talk about Allen Iverson and we're
- 10:47Speaker 1: gonna talk about Shaq, and we're gonna talk about Kobe
- 10:50Speaker 1: and everybody else having the.
- 10:51Speaker 5: Torch and Jimmy Butler all over the news, everybody, Jimmy
- 10:57Speaker 5: Buckets all over.
- 10:58Speaker 9: They talked about Shack, they talked about Alan, but they
- 11:03Speaker 9: never said nothing about Tim and that same like if
- 11:06Speaker 9: you saw the cover magazine the Sports Illustrated, you we're
- 11:10Speaker 9: gonna put Shack and we're gonna put Allen, or we're
- 11:12Speaker 9: gonna put Kobe because he's gonna sell more.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Duncan's not gonna sell that many and him being on
- 11:17Speaker 1: the cover and the truth of the matter, and I
- 11:19Speaker 1: get what you're saying, Greg, it is you know Jason,
- 11:23Speaker 1: and he seems like he's trying to figure out. So
- 11:25Speaker 1: y'all ain't gonna say nothing because this world champ because
- 11:30Speaker 1: we have we do see that the gimmick list athlete
- 11:37Speaker 1: gets overlooked. Can can we say this right? But Kimmy
- 11:44Speaker 1: and he he.
- 11:44Speaker 8: Seems it's not even why say that they're him and him?
- 11:50Speaker 8: Duncan are different. Jason Tatum seems like an unoriginal person.
- 11:55Speaker 8: There have been a lot of moments where like he's
- 11:57Speaker 8: doing the same thing that this guy did. And he's like,
- 12:00Speaker 8: it's not it doesn't seem genuine.
- 12:02Speaker 9: But can I say it's Boston because like you always say,
- 12:05Speaker 9: it's the team in the franchise where you're at. Maybe
- 12:07Speaker 9: if he wasn't at Boston on that franchise, maybe it'd
- 12:10Speaker 9: be Boston is more team oriented. More to like, we're
- 12:15Speaker 9: not worried about having a superstar.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Media Bird was that guy out there, but it was
- 12:21Speaker 1: the superstar.
- 12:22Speaker 9: I know they had the superstar, but it was just like,
- 12:23Speaker 9: we're still Michael, the media has Bird. We're still rolling
- 12:29Speaker 9: as a team. I mean, I know we're individual, I
- 12:31Speaker 9: know you that guy, but we're still a team.
- 12:34Speaker 1: We'll be back more the Sports Jock Show right after.
- 12:36Speaker 11: This, I really beam on the bun.
- 12:48Speaker 7: On the drum.

- 16:01Speaker 13: Real big everything, real big, real, real big pacus, real big.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Brings, real big.
- 16:07Speaker 7: Let me tell you how to live.
- 16:08Speaker 16: Like that by that Trony Bow's right that ladies and gentlemen,
- 16:12Speaker 16: danstas pimps, Bama's daddy stunners.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And shot like rat Snatch. I'm a real big time
- 16:18Speaker 1: king of the rood everything. Welcome back to the swart Huts, Chuck,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm in the Swart Shock Queen again. D I jock up.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Little date is no other than d T. Yes, d T.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Diana to Rossie, you can put on the Mount rushmore
- 16:39Speaker 1: for women's basketball. When I think of Diana Tarassi, I
- 16:46Speaker 1: think of consistency. No matter where she go, who's she
- 16:51Speaker 1: on the court with, She's gonna bring her game and
- 16:59Speaker 1: she's gonna make other people will play better her style
- 17:05Speaker 1: over twenty years in the WNBA, her time at Connecticut,
- 17:09Speaker 1: six gold medals in the Olympics, just a dominant figure.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I did notice with DT the thing that escapes the WNBA.
- 17:23Speaker 1: You don't get a lot of comparisons. I's watching something
- 17:27Speaker 1: the other day when Greg was leaving the last show
- 17:30Speaker 1: and when I was in here packing and I had
- 17:32Speaker 1: the TV on and that show on ESPN, and that
- 17:37Speaker 1: guy is real loud to keep talking about going for president.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Was saying, that's what makes the NBA great, that you're
- 17:43Speaker 1: always comparing. And Shannon Sharp was saying that that's something
- 17:48Speaker 1: that hurts the modern day player, that all we keep
- 17:52Speaker 1: doing is reaching to the past, so it stops making
- 17:57Speaker 1: you appreciate today, right, trying to get Chris Paul to
- 18:02Speaker 1: be Isaiah Thomas, trying to get Dwayne Wade to be
- 18:09Speaker 1: Oscar Robinson, like we don't just live in the NBA
- 18:13Speaker 1: as today and let today's player be today's player. And
- 18:21Speaker 1: when they said it, and then I saw the thing
- 18:24Speaker 1: about Diana Tarassi and I was thinking, Yeah, you never
- 18:27Speaker 1: really hear that about women's basketball. These these women have
- 18:31Speaker 1: been able to for almost thirty years now with the
- 18:36Speaker 1: WNBA just go along, you don't hear well, Angel Reese
- 18:42Speaker 1: is compared to sheriff swoops kind of thing. You just
- 18:49Speaker 1: don't get those back and forth.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Kandas Parker, if she had been Kansas Parker, like back
- 18:56Speaker 5: when Kansas was playing, and every Lebron's bean in the
- 18:59Speaker 5: league house now twenty two years and everybody's still asking
- 19:03Speaker 5: about but if he was Jordan, But does it compare
- 19:07Speaker 5: to Jordan? And they've been doing it to him his
- 19:08Speaker 5: entire his whole career because he was fifteen.
- 19:12Speaker 1: And but when this came and I was watching that
- 19:14Speaker 1: and I was like, Wow, that hasn't been offered to
- 19:17Speaker 1: the modern day. And I think that might even what
- 19:20Speaker 1: Jason Kidd was alluding to with the shoes thing that
- 19:22Speaker 1: we were talking about, that there's a man in the
- 19:25Speaker 1: room that just stays in the room that these young
- 19:30Speaker 1: men don't even actually know. But we've made him Zeus
- 19:37Speaker 1: to where we forgot there was other guards in Olympia
- 19:40Speaker 1: well well, and they defeated Zeus at one point. Other
- 19:47Speaker 1: than just Zeus was the leader.
- 19:49Speaker 5: There were other presidents, there were other civil rights leader,
- 19:52Speaker 5: but there's only John F. Kennedy Martin, Luther King and
- 19:56Speaker 5: Jesus on the wall at most people brand Mama House.
- 19:58Speaker 5: You see what I'm saying. Those three people like there
- 20:01Speaker 5: was never any idea in the painting, in the same painting,
- 20:05Speaker 5: and they all together you have Robertson and some of them. Yeah,
- 20:08Speaker 5: so it's this is the thing I think people like
- 20:13Speaker 5: ourselves who are lifelong sports fans who see the game
- 20:18Speaker 5: change a lot of what I think people do when
- 20:20Speaker 5: they make those comparisons are trying to hold on to
- 20:24Speaker 5: what they thought were important, necessary, enjoyable components of the game.
- 20:34Speaker 5: Now these new players don't hold on to any of
- 20:37Speaker 5: those old traditions. They don't operate like the old players
- 20:41Speaker 5: used to operate. And some of that is our sensibilities
- 20:45Speaker 5: being offended. Hold on, man, this dude sitting on the
- 20:47Speaker 5: sidelines in his street clothes.
- 20:49Speaker 1: But it seems to be NBA specific. Okay, you don't
- 20:54Speaker 1: really get a lot of baseball analogies, Joey Atani. You
- 21:01Speaker 1: didn't hear all season. You know, you might hear when
- 21:05Speaker 1: he broke somebody's record, but you haven't heard in his career.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Is he better than Louke Gerrick? Kind of you don't
- 21:12Speaker 1: get that kind of You don't get it in football,
- 21:14Speaker 1: He's not the Rocket. They don't do a lot of
- 21:19Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes to Warren Warren Moon.
- 21:22Speaker 17: Right.
- 21:24Speaker 1: They get comparison towards each other, who's the best Josh
- 21:29Speaker 1: Allen or or Lamar Ja Lamar Jackson. Yes, but they
- 21:32Speaker 1: don't get a lot of yester year to the point
- 21:36Speaker 1: that the people that again compared to, never even played
- 21:39Speaker 1: during their time. Yes, why do you guys think basketball
- 21:45Speaker 1: always is in this comparison stage?
- 21:50Speaker 5: Is basketball the only sport that after two decades of
- 21:56Speaker 5: one of its stars being retired, they're still in the room.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Is basketball the only sport that had Mike.
- 22:03Speaker 1: In NFL coaches are still around.
- 22:05Speaker 5: No, I'm saying, but with that impact, Like we talked
- 22:08Speaker 5: about the shoe, Mike and the shoe started all the
- 22:13Speaker 5: comparison stuff, everybody want to be like Mike Steele is
- 22:17Speaker 5: part of why people are comparing. We can't keep talking
- 22:20Speaker 5: about Lebron every day compared to Mike, So now we
- 22:23Speaker 5: got to compare somebody else to keep the story rolling.
- 22:26Speaker 1: But I guess, but I'm asking these two gentlemen, why
- 22:30Speaker 1: do you think it's just more basketball? NBA it's not
- 22:35Speaker 1: even w NBA. You don't really hear oh, she's the
- 22:39Speaker 1: next Lisa Leslie.
- 22:42Speaker 8: Well, it's a lot of people holding on to what
- 22:47Speaker 8: holding on to the pass and a way that you know,
- 22:50Speaker 8: and not seeing that the game has evolved or that
- 22:54Speaker 8: it's changed. These different erarors, there were different styles of
- 22:58Speaker 8: play and things changed that either made the game better
- 23:02Speaker 8: or just made the game different. And some people can't
- 23:05Speaker 8: really process that that the game changed. And these athletes
- 23:09Speaker 8: are much better than they were maybe even fifteen years ago, and.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I don't believe that.
- 23:17Speaker 9: Do you think it's Do you think it's the mechanics
- 23:20Speaker 9: of basketball versus like it's that least amount of players,
- 23:24Speaker 9: more visual eye on that player on that.
- 23:30Speaker 1: You know, the moves. It's just it seems like, like
- 23:33Speaker 1: you said, it's something really well, think about the Dallas Cowboys.
- 23:36Speaker 5: They always got coverage, but they don't get No, Dak
- 23:39Speaker 5: ain't as good as start back and never say he
- 23:42Speaker 5: ain't as good as Troy.
- 23:43Speaker 1: They never compare them to from the same team. No,
- 23:48Speaker 1: there's no there's no debreak between Dak and Troy. There's
- 23:52Speaker 1: nowhere did it.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Yeah he didn't, he didn't live his career being overshadowed
- 24:02Speaker 5: by immit Cede Lamb. Don't have to compare to Michael
- 24:06Speaker 5: Irvin Animal right now. We'll be back more to Sports
- 24:08Speaker 5: Jock Show right after this.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Not done what I think a number one on the.

- 26:42Speaker 1: What's up? Fresh as our turn Baby Jess shot past
- 26:57Speaker 1: my money? Wait back to this what shock shot on
- 27:07Speaker 1: the sport shock Wing Candy. Good morning to you out
- 27:10Speaker 1: there listening. Land the bad Producer, Big Kenny, the funny Man,
- 27:14Speaker 1: command you Greg in the building to this morning. We
- 27:18Speaker 1: were talking about and congratulating Diana Tarassi for all that
- 27:23Speaker 1: she has contributed to our entertainment for the last twenty
- 27:29Speaker 1: five years. You got to go all the way back
- 27:32Speaker 1: to Yukon Days and add on the career in the WNBA.
- 27:38Speaker 1: She leaves as the all time leading score and as
- 27:42Speaker 1: I said, when I think about her game, it's just consistent.
- 27:46Speaker 1: It's going to come out, it's gonna be twenty two
- 27:48Speaker 1: points tenn assists, some toughness, some big shots at the end,
- 27:55Speaker 1: and she delivered for a long long time. I mean,
- 28:00Speaker 1: sometimes I think we have stopped appreciating those people that
- 28:04Speaker 1: answer the bell all the time. We've gotten so far
- 28:09Speaker 1: away from the cal Ripken, Ac Green, those type guys
- 28:14Speaker 1: AC Green with the Lakers, those guys that just played
- 28:18Speaker 1: every night, regardless of injury life, you know, whether having
- 28:25Speaker 1: a good game or not. The bail for the game
- 28:29Speaker 1: ran wrung and they came out. And sometimes that's how
- 28:33Speaker 1: Diana Tarrossi was seemed like she was always on the court,
- 28:36Speaker 1: very seldom was she not playing. We were talking about
- 28:39Speaker 1: the comparison era. Why is the NBA seem to be
- 28:45Speaker 1: also and always caught up in the comparison mindset, not
- 28:52Speaker 1: just comparison of their current players, but where the current
- 28:57Speaker 1: players always weighed and measured by someone from the past.
- 29:03Speaker 1: And is that diminishing? Does that seem to detract from
- 29:08Speaker 1: what you're actually getting? Is the pie good or it's
- 29:13Speaker 1: just not as good as your auntie's kind of mindset?
- 29:18Speaker 1: And sometimes that's how when you say that, you don't
- 29:21Speaker 1: realize you are telling the person who baked the pie.
- 29:27Speaker 1: They can walk away thinking you didn't think it was
- 29:30Speaker 1: good by making that comment, can you didn't appreciate it?
- 29:36Speaker 1: And I know some of you never thought about that,
- 29:38Speaker 1: but saying it in that term and leaving it there
- 29:42Speaker 1: makes that person feel that way. He was funny, but
- 29:46Speaker 1: he wasn't funny. Is Eddie Murphy? He was good, but
- 29:51Speaker 1: he wasn't. No DJ Quick, You're you're making it sound
- 29:56Speaker 1: now is he good? Oh, he's just not good as
- 29:59Speaker 1: DJ Quick, right, because you're not saying that, You're just
- 30:04Speaker 1: saying he's not good as DJ.
- 30:06Speaker 5: Does that make that night? Well, I'm saying, I'm just
- 30:11Speaker 5: trying to give you what can I just be funny.
- 30:16Speaker 5: You saw me and you laughed the entire time. But
- 30:19Speaker 5: when someone says, how was it, the first thing you
- 30:22Speaker 5: say is, well, it wasn't Cat Williams.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Well, you at my show. I don't think Cat Williams
- 30:29Speaker 1: was even expected to show up.
- 30:31Speaker 5: But you're saying that makes it sound like there was
- 30:34Speaker 5: something missing from the show that you laughed at for hours.
- 30:37Speaker 9: But I don't think they can be missing from you
- 30:39Speaker 9: and cant's the long hair and well the higher pitch voice.
- 30:43Speaker 5: I'm saying the on the impact that it has on
- 30:47Speaker 5: the person telling the jokes, the impact that it has
- 30:50Speaker 5: on the basketball player.
- 30:52Speaker 1: For someone to go Lebron, You've been in the game
- 30:54Speaker 1: twenty two years. You the king of the NBA.
- 30:57Speaker 5: Boy, I'm telling you, on the top basketball all players
- 31:00Speaker 5: are all time, You're gonna be right behind Jordan. Now
- 31:05Speaker 5: that didn't say nothing about all this man's championships and
- 31:08Speaker 5: his MVPs. And you know he's done it in just
- 31:11Speaker 5: about every conference in the and all they want to
- 31:15Speaker 5: keep letting him know is, boy, you almost as good
- 31:18Speaker 5: as Michael Jordan. And Mike ain't played in none of
- 31:21Speaker 5: the Lebron era and he been in the game twenty
- 31:23Speaker 5: two years. A lot of these people. Every time the
- 31:27Speaker 5: NBA makes those comparisons, it's never a steph being compared
- 31:33Speaker 5: against KD. It's always a steph being compared to this
- 31:36Speaker 5: Reggie Miller people.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I think people think they are telling you you're good,
- 31:43Speaker 1: but I don't know if they really realize you're kind
- 31:45Speaker 1: of telling me. You didn't tell me whether I was
- 31:47Speaker 1: good or not. You're more talking whether it's a backhanded compliment. Yes,
- 31:54Speaker 1: you know, did it? And some people take that as offense. Yes, yeah,
- 31:59Speaker 1: sh Some cooks are gonna be upset. You set all
- 32:04Speaker 1: day and I try is the rib good or not?
- 32:08Speaker 1: Because that's what we're supposed to be enjoying. The ribs
- 32:11Speaker 1: I just cooked you talk about drifting back to nineteen whatever,
- 32:16Speaker 1: ninety six to a rib you had, blah blah blah.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Try you know what they got to do with mine today?
- 32:24Speaker 1: And that's why I wonder why it's so and you know,
- 32:26Speaker 1: I have put a little thought in it. Why is
- 32:27Speaker 1: it so NBA driven? Because you don't really get a
- 32:30Speaker 1: lot of that, uh and other sports unless a person
- 32:35Speaker 1: hits like a magic moment like Serena's about to break
- 32:40Speaker 1: this record, but they have typically waited and measured Serena
- 32:46Speaker 1: versus her contemporary, and then when she gets to Martina
- 32:50Speaker 1: Navatulova's record, then there's a little debate of wood rackets
- 32:57Speaker 1: versus right.
- 32:59Speaker 5: Right, and then after she breaks it, it's the end
- 33:02Speaker 5: of an era and a new era starts. They don't
- 33:06Speaker 5: keep on going. Well, you know, Martina had she played
- 33:08Speaker 5: another six because they only had three matches in Major.
- 33:13Speaker 1: You know, they don't do that in the NBA. They
- 33:15Speaker 1: constantly do it. The Toosch push is back on this
- 33:20Speaker 1: the radar again, sports just cannot seem to allow itself
- 33:28Speaker 1: to function without needing to explore each and every moment
- 33:34Speaker 1: of how to eradicate someone's ability to succeed. Now, The
- 33:45Speaker 1: touch push is something that the Eagles, since Jalen Hurts
- 33:50Speaker 1: has been their quarterback, has been able to master. For
- 33:54Speaker 1: you that don't know what the touch push is, it's
- 33:57Speaker 1: the play in third and fourth and short typically third
- 34:02Speaker 1: and one, fourth and one those down in distances where
- 34:07Speaker 1: the Eagles line up in a formation where they legally
- 34:13Speaker 1: push Jalen Hurts four, kind of like a rugby play. Legally, yes,
- 34:24Speaker 1: not illegal. The formation they line up is not illegal.
- 34:29Speaker 1: They don't jump off sides. Nothing about it is all
- 34:33Speaker 1: in the book. And I know they put one team
- 34:37Speaker 1: on record, Green Bay, of maybe complaining about it, but
- 34:41Speaker 1: it seems the whole league has an issue. And I
- 34:43Speaker 1: keep thinking, so the next time you come up with
- 34:48Speaker 1: a play that succeeds, I'm go to the competition committee
- 34:53Speaker 1: and say, well, they shouldn't be allowed to run that
- 34:57Speaker 1: successful play. Yeah, the fleef liquor, because how you're gonna
- 35:01Speaker 1: have some success. I can't believe y'all are allowing them
- 35:04Speaker 1: Big Kenny to run a play. This Wildcat gotta stop.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Gotta stop somewhere with these people winning games, innovation and.
- 35:17Speaker 8: Strategy, it's come to that point where, like with the
- 35:20Speaker 8: Wildcat defenses were able to figure out how to stop it,
- 35:26Speaker 8: so we don't see the wildcat anymore. But defensives have
- 35:30Speaker 8: not been able to figure out how to stop the push.
- 35:35Speaker 8: How do you haven't been figured out? I mean, how
- 35:37Speaker 8: do you can't should be illegal, it's not fair. How
- 35:40Speaker 8: do you because we can't stop it?
- 35:41Speaker 1: How do you keep.
- 35:42Speaker 5: Eleving men who are averaging two hundred pounds from moving
- 35:47Speaker 5: three feet?
- 35:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know how you do that. Well,
- 35:50Speaker 1: you have got five guys that three hundred pounds trying
- 35:54Speaker 1: to stop them. What you do is you keep that
- 35:58Speaker 1: team out of that down in this and distance exactly.
- 36:01Speaker 1: We ain't gonna get no short fourth and two, no
- 36:04Speaker 1: three and three. That's that's the pressure on your defense.
- 36:09Speaker 1: That's the pressure on your defense.
- 36:11Speaker 5: And I don't understand it's I was watching something the
- 36:13Speaker 5: other day and they talked about a gymnast in the
- 36:16Speaker 5: rollout of the Black History Month coverage, and this gymnast
- 36:21Speaker 5: was being recognized because she would do a backflip and
- 36:25Speaker 5: land on one leg and they were saying that, you know,
- 36:30Speaker 5: and in the middle of doing some sort of triple
- 36:32Speaker 5: twist kind of and they were saying that nobody else
- 36:34Speaker 5: could do it, and she wasn't the gymnast, she was
- 36:37Speaker 5: an ice skater, and they said nobody else could do it,
- 36:40Speaker 5: So they banned the move from the competition because they
- 36:44Speaker 5: felt it was unfair to the rest of the competitors.
- 36:46Speaker 5: Now just eliminate go practice the move A get like me.
- 36:51Speaker 5: I'm just gonna make it where instead of appreciating your greatness,
- 36:56Speaker 5: I'm going to make you average.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I call games as you gots no interview coaches, You
- 37:02Speaker 1: ask them what's gonna be the key to the game.
- 37:04Speaker 1: It varies best based on opponent, some offense and defense. Coach,
- 37:10Speaker 1: what do you think, Well, we gotta we gotta make
- 37:12Speaker 1: it in third and manageable. We gotta stay in third
- 37:15Speaker 1: and short. We can't be in third and long. So
- 37:18Speaker 1: for us to win tonight, we got to be having
- 37:21Speaker 1: an offense that keeps us in third and short, which
- 37:25Speaker 1: means usually third and three and less to get a
- 37:28Speaker 1: first down. Well, you talk to the other coach with coach,
- 37:31Speaker 1: how you plan on stopping them, Well, we gotta make
- 37:37Speaker 1: him go third and long. We gotta win first down.
- 37:41Speaker 1: We gotta make it second and long, third and long.
- 37:43Speaker 1: We gotta win first down. Yes, that's their strategy. We
- 37:47Speaker 1: gotta learn. We got so if that's supposed to be banned,
- 37:52Speaker 1: now you some other man who played, I don't understand
- 37:54Speaker 1: how you. I don't understand. I used to think. So
- 37:57Speaker 1: that's like banning so the quarterback can't sneak. I'm saying.
- 38:00Speaker 1: I used to think that compensation can't have help. Apparently, No,
- 38:04Speaker 1: see that's what I'm saying.
- 38:05Speaker 9: Well, in other words, and if we can't have help,
- 38:07Speaker 9: let's just remove the lineman then also, because that's just
- 38:10Speaker 9: help in front of them and.
- 38:12Speaker 1: From the well down on the mountain.
- 38:14Speaker 5: I'm confused because in the entire time that I've been
- 38:16Speaker 5: watching NFL football, not just the sport of football, I've
- 38:21Speaker 5: watched gamesmanship and strategy. There was a time when coaches
- 38:25Speaker 5: were covering their mouths and talking because they didn't want people.
- 38:29Speaker 5: We've had uh Spygate and deflate gate. There's always someone
- 38:36Speaker 5: looking for an advantage. Now, if I can get that
- 38:38Speaker 5: advantage through effort and strategy, you mean to tell me
- 38:41Speaker 5: that that's eliminated, Like I've gotten so good at this
- 38:45Speaker 5: that you want me to stop doing it to help
- 38:49Speaker 5: you win. I'm not saying that this is something that's
- 38:51Speaker 5: you know, detrimental to the game. It's just that they're
- 38:54Speaker 5: winning more than we think they ought to be winning.
- 38:57Speaker 5: So stop them doing this. That's ridiculous, ridiculous thought.
- 39:01Speaker 1: But that's the NFL, and it seems as that they
- 39:06Speaker 1: will address any kind of success. They don't. You know,
- 39:11Speaker 1: I don't understand the game.
- 39:13Speaker 8: Sometimes it has the It has the the rest of
- 39:18Speaker 8: the league baffled because they can't. They can't stop it
- 39:22Speaker 8: with other things. The rules were changed that may favor
- 39:26Speaker 8: the offense.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Well, you haven't too much success blitz blitzing, so we're
- 39:30Speaker 1: gonna stop that. When y'all blitz on third and five,
- 39:32Speaker 1: y'all are ninety nine percent stop break.
- 39:35Speaker 9: Yeah, you can't bring three men to the line and
- 39:37Speaker 9: drop five back and do all that other stuff. You
- 39:39Speaker 9: gotta you gotta time. You gotta tell me three gonna
- 39:42Speaker 9: blitch so I could be prepared.
- 39:43Speaker 1: It's just like the on side kick. You gotta tell
- 39:45Speaker 1: when you got.
- 39:48Speaker 17: Here.
- 39:49Speaker 1: You know, Okay, we'll be back. What's coming? Yeah, I
- 39:54Speaker 1: gotta tell you when on side kick coming.
- 39:56Speaker 5: How am I supposed to succeeds keeping the lineup as
- 39:59Speaker 5: a receiver.
- 40:00Speaker 1: It would be back right after new Hey, true to.
- 40:04Speaker 16: The Kisa stop in the project so to have a
- 40:08Speaker 16: house of did in the state tent.
- 40:12Speaker 11: In Texas listening it to DJs world, just write.
- 40:15Speaker 4: The Lexus Don't Go away or of the Sports Josh

- 41:33Speaker 22: My mom has started getting lost and not knowing where

- 42:19Speaker 24: locked on so you can see a sports chaint. I'll
- 42:22Speaker 24: sing even.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Jenny, welcome back to this what shock, showing this what shot?
- 42:28Speaker 1: Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you out there and listening land.
- 42:32Speaker 1: We were talking about uh, the NFL and a couple
- 42:36Speaker 1: of teams asking the NFL Troy Vincent on the head
- 42:41Speaker 1: of the players side of the nfl up in the
- 42:46Speaker 1: higher ranks put propositioning the competition committee that the tush
- 42:52Speaker 1: push might be getting a change next year. We will see.
- 42:57Speaker 1: I guess if all you know, Kareem should not have
- 42:59Speaker 1: been on out to use the skyhook. It was an
- 43:02Speaker 1: unfair advantage. Well they took the music away, would they
- 43:07Speaker 1: wouldn't let them dunk? I can't believe you came up
- 43:09Speaker 1: with a shot anything else. We were trying to prevent
- 43:13Speaker 1: you from being good with the dunk.
- 43:15Speaker 5: And you mean you got the nerve to come up
- 43:17Speaker 5: with something that's even more effective. We can't have that
- 43:20Speaker 5: in professional sports. This sounds so stupid to me. I'm saying,
- 43:25Speaker 5: these people, how did you even how are you even
- 43:28Speaker 5: capable of purchasing a team when you ain't got no
- 43:30Speaker 5: more sense than that. There's some multi billion dollar business
- 43:33Speaker 5: and this is the the brain trust that running it.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Hey, I can't stop if we need to get rid
- 43:38Speaker 1: of it. Oh come on, man, be doing that play
- 43:41Speaker 1: that has success. Kind of crazy to make you a
- 43:45Speaker 1: world champion, make you, I think and see. It's like
- 43:50Speaker 1: telling Joe lay that number one on its selling too much,
- 43:53Speaker 1: but throw it off.
- 43:54Speaker 5: But those are the things that make the questions and
- 43:57Speaker 5: the the suspicion creep into sports. You're trying to make
- 44:04Speaker 5: sports almost a fifty to fifty. There is no advantage
- 44:10Speaker 5: for strategy for preparing for training. We trying to make
- 44:13Speaker 5: it as even as possible. So the only thing you
- 44:16Speaker 5: have to look forward to is the over.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Under you said. We had a couple comments on.
- 44:20Speaker 5: We had a comment from our online listener Jared, who
- 44:23Speaker 5: said that Major League Baseball did it by banning the shift.
- 44:28Speaker 5: That's another league that we've seen take something that people
- 44:32Speaker 5: just struggle to get in front of, and it was
- 44:35Speaker 5: effective against competition.
- 44:37Speaker 8: It's not fair to the left handed batters. It's not
- 44:41Speaker 8: fair that y'all could just move everyone to this side.
- 44:45Speaker 8: I try to push the opposite way. I'm gonna hold
- 44:50Speaker 8: on what I'm saying.
- 44:53Speaker 1: It's too hard. Helo.
- 44:54Speaker 5: Hello, Okay, okay, So what I'm saying, but little kids
- 44:59Speaker 5: at the house, to make sure they don't get lost
- 45:02Speaker 5: to kidnapped.
- 45:02Speaker 1: We locked the door. Now. Listen, listen, listen.
- 45:06Speaker 5: I know this sound like I'm stretching it, but that's
- 45:10Speaker 5: the most effective way to keep them inside.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Nah. I don't know if that's unfair.
- 45:15Speaker 5: To them, but what you're telling me is you hit
- 45:18Speaker 5: to the left all the time because you were left
- 45:20Speaker 5: handed batter.
- 45:21Speaker 1: So I'm gonna just tell everybody moving car years ago
- 45:23Speaker 1: with the restricted plate and how that came about. Yeah,
- 45:28Speaker 1: was that the reason? Well, we were trying to make
- 45:30Speaker 1: sure all the cars.
- 45:30Speaker 5: Ran about the sand because these dues found a way
- 45:34Speaker 5: to shave some weight off fender. Yeah, off the thing
- 45:37Speaker 5: to That's what I'm saying. And then he got he
- 45:40Speaker 5: is running six horsepower faster than mine. So what I'm
- 45:43Speaker 5: gonna do is I'm gonna make everybody only be able
- 45:45Speaker 5: to do three hundred.
- 45:48Speaker 1: So uh, we will see. I hope they let the
- 45:51Speaker 1: place stand. And I guess that's just the competitor in
- 45:55Speaker 1: me because it was always if you don't want to
- 45:57Speaker 1: stop them, what happened to get better? We got to
- 45:59Speaker 1: win for second down. We cannot let this team get
- 46:02Speaker 1: the thirty that used to just be true about having
- 46:05Speaker 1: a big running back. You can't have let Earl Campbell,
- 46:10Speaker 1: Mike Austot, those kind of guys. Christenal Coyer. You can't
- 46:14Speaker 1: let them get in thirty one because they're gonna get
- 46:16Speaker 1: third and one. They're percentages. But you can't really let
- 46:20Speaker 1: any offense get in thirty one. That's the That's what
- 46:23Speaker 1: nobody understands. It's hard to stop any one even if
- 46:29Speaker 1: you're in the hole. If a two hundred and forty
- 46:31Speaker 1: pounds man and you match up, he's gonna most likely
- 46:35Speaker 1: get six inches.
- 46:36Speaker 5: Speaking of that, so what you're saying now is, look,
- 46:39Speaker 5: Eric been about fifty to twenty players mushed in the
- 46:43Speaker 5: face and slam to the ground like Derrick Henry.
- 46:45Speaker 1: We're gonna have to stop that stiff off.
- 46:47Speaker 9: Well, I mean they've they've tempted to do that with
- 46:50Speaker 9: the face mask to the hand to the face with
- 46:54Speaker 9: the offensive player. Now the offensive player could get what
- 46:56Speaker 9: face mask? Now, so you know there is a wish
- 47:00Speaker 9: to eliminate that that right there here locally at a
- 47:03Speaker 9: water Burger just uh f y.
- 47:06Speaker 1: I for you out there that love to use technology
- 47:10Speaker 1: for everything and sports Shock has been telling you cut
- 47:13Speaker 1: down on your digital footprint, keep a little cash, haven't
- 47:17Speaker 1: I been saying that Big Kennedy here and I started
- 47:20Speaker 1: to doing that. Yeah, But young lady over at the
- 47:24Speaker 1: water Burger, O water Burger, how do y'all say? What burger?
- 47:28Speaker 1: I've never been so what's it's called? Water burger? I
- 47:33Speaker 1: mean that what is it sounds like water, but its
- 47:39Speaker 1: like but it's typically pronounced water. It's gonna sound like what.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Aliah Somethinger, the twenty five year old, decided when the
- 47:52Speaker 1: man went to pay with his card, uh that she
- 48:00Speaker 1: disappeared for about ten seconds, said the machine that was
- 48:07Speaker 1: in front of her was not working, moved to the
- 48:09Speaker 1: other machine to ring it up, but come to find
- 48:13Speaker 1: out she had went and paid her probation off. Yeah,
- 48:20Speaker 1: four hundred dollars, you know that's that's that's real. Now.
- 48:27Speaker 1: The thing I would like to ask, Welliah Somethinger, she's
- 48:32Speaker 1: twenty five to worked at the drive through, is so
- 48:37Speaker 1: you know, you get to the drive through, you get
- 48:38Speaker 1: a car. She said. She was acting like the car
- 48:40Speaker 1: machine at that point of sale, so she needs to
- 48:44Speaker 1: go to the one that's inside you and your car.
- 48:48Speaker 1: So when this man gets home and see four hundred
- 48:53Speaker 1: dollars right, and you paid your probation, you're probate with
- 49:00Speaker 1: your name onment. This is not a This doesn't take
- 49:03Speaker 1: Batman to solve this. Comm The mystery machine ain't.
- 49:10Speaker 9: Ain't She was just buying a couple of days for
- 49:13Speaker 9: the weekend she needed to get she had an event.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Last time I checked, they haven't been able to locate her.
- 49:18Speaker 1: They did run her down. She was on probation charge
- 49:22Speaker 1: of possession of marijuana. And uh, get this use of
- 49:27Speaker 1: stolen credit cards and we've all been charged with right,
- 49:35Speaker 1: And I said that, and I kept thinking, Man, that
- 49:38Speaker 1: little combo probably with nine bucks. You just need a
- 49:41Speaker 1: strong ten need a ten dollar bill in your pocket.
- 49:44Speaker 1: We could have kept this movement, We could have kept Aliah.
- 49:46Speaker 1: You have still been free. How did she know? I woulder?
- 49:52Speaker 1: Had she know that he had before her? Well, he
- 49:55Speaker 1: probably came with based a visa a visa. You don't
- 50:00Speaker 1: for the vehicle to profiling. I'm a profile. He pulled up.
- 50:04Speaker 5: He's got what looks to be about I mean, because
- 50:08Speaker 5: the car note on this gotta be a minimum for
- 50:10Speaker 5: one hundred. I'm gonna go at least run it. If
- 50:13Speaker 5: it go through, we good. If it don't, I just
- 50:15Speaker 5: bring him back his car. So it worked this time.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Stripper told me I didn't look like I was gonna
- 50:21Speaker 1: spend money. That's why they don't ever come over to
- 50:26Speaker 1: solicit me. They call me a ball. So they can
- 50:28Speaker 1: they have they have a read, they can read.
- 50:31Speaker 5: Yeah, that one of them told me that you look
- 50:33Speaker 5: like you're gonna make me leave here against my wheel.
- 50:37Speaker 5: That's why we don't come over here to you. And
- 50:39Speaker 5: I mean they gotta they got tails and queues and
- 50:43Speaker 5: things like.
- 50:43Speaker 1: That that they look for. So you pull up in
- 50:45Speaker 1: an audi You got a shirt button up, you know,
- 50:49Speaker 1: polo tucked in your pen. You in shirt tight. Getting.
- 50:53Speaker 1: We're gonna get getting.
- 50:56Speaker 5: I'm gonna get you to tuch shirt. We gotta get
- 50:58Speaker 5: touch shots. You got your golf. I'm gonna just run
- 51:03Speaker 5: the car in front of you. I ain't even lead.

- 52:26Speaker 26: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 52:30Speaker 26: It's a powerful opioid, often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 52:33Speaker 26: with illicted drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 52:37Speaker 26: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about the
- 52:41Speaker 26: size of a few grains of sand, could potentially be lethal.

- 52:55Speaker 2: And now back to the sports Gibt, Wayne Gamby, Center
- 53:01Speaker 2: cord on Sports News, gossip, blah blah blah blah.
- 53:18Speaker 16: I got these bull heights up enough while my little
- 53:20Speaker 16: BG's on the buck putting out cigarette for me personally,
- 53:23Speaker 16: play boy, I don't give them always show love to
- 53:27Speaker 16: hit the clubs.
- 53:28Speaker 1: We right to this what shock shan war shock Dwayne
- 53:32Speaker 1: gan g I do Carter of Penn State. A lot
- 53:36Speaker 1: of people feel like Abdual Carter moving up the draft board.
- 53:40Speaker 1: Uh the quarterbacks cam wards your door, Sanders. A lot
- 53:45Speaker 1: of people felt like the Titans were gonna go in
- 53:48Speaker 1: that direction, but it looks like maybe the Titans are
- 53:52Speaker 1: thinking defense. If you've never seen Abdual Carter play, he
- 53:56Speaker 1: puts you in the mind of another Penn State alumni,
- 54:01Speaker 1: Michael Parsons, one of those tweeners, kind of part half linebacker,
- 54:08Speaker 1: half the end, strong enough to play out on the end,
- 54:13Speaker 1: but fast enough to run with your backs and tight ends.
- 54:17Speaker 1: So we will see how the draft A long way
- 54:20Speaker 1: before we get to the draft, about two months really,
- 54:23Speaker 1: but so names will move up and down the draft board.
- 54:28Speaker 1: I wonder, guys, just how much now being able to
- 54:32Speaker 1: really scrutinize that's all combines and just looking for what
- 54:38Speaker 1: you can't really do. Are you as fast and you
- 54:42Speaker 1: go through the process, your limitations, facialiks, they're out there
- 54:48Speaker 1: reading everything. Just an idea of do you get the
- 54:57Speaker 1: feeling that these two guys are like franchise carriers? Do
- 55:02Speaker 1: you see that when you think of cam Ward, when
- 55:05Speaker 1: you think of Chadeur Sanders, forget the actual what you
- 55:09Speaker 1: think as their talent. Do they give that feel of
- 55:15Speaker 1: leader of man? Now?
- 55:21Speaker 5: One of the things that I know about leadership is
- 55:23Speaker 5: sometimes leaders are born. Sometimes people are thrust in the
- 55:29Speaker 5: front and accept that responsibility. These people have had opportunities
- 55:34Speaker 5: to show themselves as leader of men up to this
- 55:37Speaker 5: point at their level, and I've never seen it. I've
- 55:42Speaker 5: never seen it in a way that I easily identify
- 55:45Speaker 5: it as leadership. Maybe it has an impact, maybe there's
- 55:49Speaker 5: something that you do that resonates with the team, But
- 55:52Speaker 5: as far as watching a Shador, watching a cam Ward
- 55:55Speaker 5: come to the side and have his offensive corps around
- 55:58Speaker 5: him and go, look, this is where I need us
- 56:02Speaker 5: to get up off the field and hit somebody on
- 56:04Speaker 5: the helmet.
- 56:05Speaker 1: And that's all right, let's get them again. They'll play.
- 56:08Speaker 5: But I haven't seen them do what I recognize as
- 56:11Speaker 5: traditional leading. Yeah, I mean, well, I don't know. I
- 56:15Speaker 5: think I would hope that they would. Yes, I'll see
- 56:18Speaker 5: them as having an opportunity to be leaders.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Once again, it's where they're drafted.
- 56:23Speaker 9: Who are their coaches and the teammates to surrounded them.
- 56:27Speaker 9: They've been leaders at this point on the college level.
- 56:31Speaker 9: You've been a quarterback, you've been leaders of your unit
- 56:34Speaker 9: and your team, So you would.
- 56:35Speaker 1: Hopefully So you saw cam Ward being a leader or
- 56:39Speaker 1: did you see cam Ward being a good quarterback? Because
- 56:42Speaker 1: you're kind of like not answering my question but giving
- 56:45Speaker 1: me a lot of frosting when you saw cam Ward
- 56:49Speaker 1: at Miami, did you just see a good quarterback or
- 56:51Speaker 1: did you see more of a leader of a team.
- 56:56Speaker 9: I can't say that I see them as a leader
- 56:58Speaker 9: because I didn't really watch cam war this year as
- 57:01Speaker 9: out there. But shador I could say I've seen him
- 57:05Speaker 9: lead his team. I felt that he was a leader
- 57:08Speaker 9: out there and he could be a leader in the league.
- 57:12Speaker 8: Uh, It's I can't really tell, only because I think
- 57:16Speaker 8: cam warder was okay, he's a good quarterback. I don't
- 57:19Speaker 8: know if that equals leadership. And with Shadur, while it
- 57:25Speaker 8: appears that he may have those qualities, I or saw
- 57:30Speaker 8: someone who would had the trust of the coach to
- 57:34Speaker 8: play quarter to be the quarterback, to be the starting quarterback,
- 57:38Speaker 8: rather than oh, this guy is a great leader also,
- 57:41Speaker 8: so it was more he had the coach that believed
- 57:44Speaker 8: that I know it's his own father, but but.
- 57:47Speaker 1: That that that trust. Don't you think that that trust
- 57:49Speaker 1: cap to come to make you from your the coach.
- 57:53Speaker 5: I'm saying the trust you to be that coach sees it.
- 57:56Speaker 5: But does that does that translate? And this is something
- 58:00Speaker 5: that I know about having been willing to follow a
- 58:06Speaker 5: person allowed them to lead, is they come from our ranks.
- 58:11Speaker 5: The leaders that I followed weren't appointed over me. Hey
- 58:14Speaker 5: this dude here gonna lead, y'all go No, this leader
- 58:17Speaker 5: was hey, man, you seem to know a lot about this.
- 58:20Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 58:21Speaker 5: Or someone who stood up and went, wait, wait, we're
- 58:24Speaker 5: not gonna come apart at this moment. This is what
- 58:26Speaker 5: we're gonna do and then unroll a strategy that we
- 58:28Speaker 5: can follow and.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Not saying that because Schader was the last year's two
- 58:33Speaker 1: quarterbacks was right? Williams from Chicago and Jade and Daniels
- 58:39Speaker 1: of the Commanders in college. I saw the leadership of Daniels.
- 58:48Speaker 1: I saw that if you put him on a football field,
- 58:51Speaker 1: the player seemed to adhere to his way of what
- 59:01Speaker 1: he wanted. So he goes through the pros he does that.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Caleb Williams did the same thing. I thought would be
- 59:09Speaker 1: something that he would have to and everybody laugh when
- 59:11Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, you're running over there to your mom.
- 59:14Speaker 1: It wasn't just that incident, it was just your whole way.
- 59:17Speaker 1: It seems like to me, he reminds me of Shador Sanders.
- 59:24Speaker 1: That is going to be their biggest component to learn
- 59:28Speaker 1: to vibrate that the other ten people in the huddel
- 59:32Speaker 1: see you as And I said that because I've played
- 59:36Speaker 1: with numerous quarterbacks in my career, unfortunately a lot. It's
- 59:41Speaker 1: not really something you want, but you know, it was
- 59:45Speaker 1: what it was. And if it was twelve, maybe two
- 59:50Speaker 1: of them had that magnetism that everywhere that came out
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: of their mouth you hung on to. And that's why
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I asked, did you see that from it takes equity? No,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: It's one of those reasons why people keep saying, like
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: the Lakers, the Lakers have a great chance to win
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: a championship this year because Luca and Lebron, when they're
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: not playing together and they're on the court, they're used
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: to leading men. So that means that all time you
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: have a guy on the court leading your team, you
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: can't always say that one of the things. And those
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: are the things I was wondering that you see because
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: and you're right, some of it is to me. Shadua
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: was allowed to go play and I'll lead the guys right.
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: Right, Because even when the plays are over and shad
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: Door's on the sidelines, he's not with the other players.
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: He's down there being schadure, or he's sitting next to
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: Travis Hunter. He's never the one. It's always a Dion
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: comes around. He's not even calling plays, he just comes around,
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: all right, people, couple of hand class.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: And I was saying that based on these teams, when
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: you start drafting these guys that high, do you see
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: them as something that has to be because bad producer
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: is talking about the coach and the player. Man, it
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: ain't all that you're gonna ball out. You know, people
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: gonna follow you. Those are the players and the coach
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: ain't got nothing to do with your dominion right right
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: when you have a bad day. You always ran to
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: the sideline BA Sports right after this to go down
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: here with who was coming round? The nuxt fly Let
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: that go.

- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Wayne Dandie is coming out.
- 1:02:01Speaker 27: I never realized that I'd be taking care of a
- 1:02:04Speaker 27: two year old and a nine year old on my own.
- 1:02:06Speaker 27: I think men can be a little stubborn sometimes where
- 1:02:10Speaker 27: pride gets in the way and they may want the help,
- 1:02:13Speaker 27: they may not know how to ask. With my traditions,
- 1:02:16Speaker 27: with the family support in line, and just with my
- 1:02:19Speaker 27: mind frame, I was able to turn a negative into
- 1:02:23Speaker 27: a positive. I knew I needed more tools in my
- 1:02:26Speaker 27: toolbox to take care of these little girls that just
- 1:02:29Speaker 27: lost their mother. It's time for me to be that
- 1:02:32Speaker 27: father that I knew I could be. I think just
- 1:02:34Speaker 27: being that good role model as well, that model's good
- 1:02:38Speaker 27: behavior in front of them, going to work every day,
- 1:02:41Speaker 27: coming home and being able to put on that smile.
- 1:02:44Speaker 27: The biggest reward about being a dad is sitting back
- 1:02:47Speaker 27: and watching your kids be happy.

- 1:03:34Speaker 17: Is it just.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it begin, I'm gonna go on the
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: way you vegan. Welcome back to the Sport Shop Show.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I'm the Sports Shock of Wayne Gandy. If you miss
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: any of that first hour when we go off today
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: at Tiana, you can go to Apple Podcast, Amazon Podcast, Desert, Audible, iHeartRadio,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: or Spotify and that's to replay Command you, Greg, Big Chenny,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: the bat duos in the building. That first hour. We
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: gave our respect to Diana Tarassi, who, after twenty years
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: in the WNBA is going to retire as it's all
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: time leading most likely in so many categories. But we
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: do know score, the NFL is going to, I guess
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: question analyze, they keep the tush push going. The Eagles,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: who just won the championships three weeks ago, who seem
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: to basically discover a play on the third and fourth
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: and short that can't be stopped, and now some of
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: the other teams are complaining that you can't just be
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: coming up with stuff that can't be stopped. That's unfair
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: advantage to have the plays that can't be stopped. You
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: shouldn't be drawing up plays. Now run the same play.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: See that's the part that's the problem with why what
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: makes it such a hypocritical thing. It's not like you
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: can't run the same play. You can actually get their film.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: You can even go far as this. You can hire
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: one of their assistants that was on their team helping
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: run the play, show us how to do that and
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: run the play. You can do that.
- 1:05:25Speaker 8: That I saw a quote from Andy Reid said that
- 1:05:28Speaker 8: we do it if we had the personnel the injury,
- 1:05:32Speaker 8: if we could minimize the injury risk, we would do.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: It more too. Well, the number one thing you need,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I think I told people you have to have a
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: quarterback will that's willing to let people hit him. Jalen
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Hurts is willing to do that. He's willing to let
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: someone get behind him push him forward while other guys
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: with a lot of aggression and try to spear him
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: paul in the side hard, hard, like to make you
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: drop the ball. The pain is so jarring that you're
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: gonna go, oh man, football leinth for me. So if
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: you ain't got one of them back back there as
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: your quarterback, that's gonna be half the battle because most
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: of them are trying to find a little soft landing
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: spot like, oh no, I'm not gonna go over there.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: Don't push me over there, big Kenny, while you push
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: bab I'm out and go to the coach. Look, don't
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: call it. I don't call that. Don't call that. More so,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: I know we talking about the rules. Are they looking
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: at changing overtime again? Also, uh yeah, they're considering some
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: changes to regular season overtimes and Troy Vincent the league
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: exec once again. Too many rules in all sports are
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: changed too fast. You do have to have a conservative
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: idea when you look at things to make sure when
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: they do that, when they've done this tenure window from
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: the last ten years of the old overtime to the
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: ten years of the new they find that the receiving
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: team has had more success, which they were trying to
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: cut out. They changed it so that it would give
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: the team that didn't win the coin talk toss a
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: better chance of winning because people kept complaining, well, they
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: won the toss, and now they just go down and
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: kick a field goal. They win. We just call that
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: sudden death. They changed it to, well, both people got
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: to have the ball. If you don't get a touchdown
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: on the first driven field goal, then we get the ball.
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: I was taught football that if you wanted to win,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: you had four quarters to do it. Whatever happens in
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: overtime is on you period first score, first the score.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: So we had no issue with death because you should
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: have won the game in regulation time in regulation. So
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: now they're looking to maybe go back to sudden death
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: or find another way so the team that wins the
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: coin toss, which makes me think Vegas stripped Buffalo Wild
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Wings gambling because you want to be able to find
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: some kind of way to parlay because you don't want
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: those percentages to be as high of who wins the
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: coin toss. What they had it. Now.
- 1:08:36Speaker 8: What they're talking about now is this is the rule
- 1:08:38Speaker 8: in the playoffs. If the first the team that gets
- 1:08:42Speaker 8: the ball first, if they score a touchdown, then the
- 1:08:45Speaker 8: other team gets a chance. They got to score a touchdown.
- 1:08:48Speaker 8: So now it's closer to like college with going back
- 1:08:53Speaker 8: and forth before if if you scored a touchdown first,
- 1:08:56Speaker 8: you win. But now college touchdown and they.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: Got a chance. Terrible, It's terrible. It's so terrible that
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: I don't even feel like I lost when you get
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: to college over time, we just didn't win. It goes
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: from the heartbreak of we didn't we lost, so we
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: just didn't win. All that little commotion at the end
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: and somebody got to score from the twenty five and
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: you get fire. That's not football, that's gimmicks and hoping
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: somebody break down or get tired. One of the worst
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: times to watch the gay. I don't even take satisfaction
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: and overtime wins in college all that. Oh if you miss,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: you get to score, he scored, you score, you scored.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Now you got to go for two.
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: Come on, man, running out of plays would you go
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: back to time, I go back to sudden death. I
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: mean for college football, a sudden death. Remember, I think
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: all rules and football should be the same. In fact,
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: time can be adjusted, meaning in high school can play shorter.
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: But if I learned to catch the ball is either
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: two feet or two feet, it can't be when I
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: teach my little seven year old grandson or somebody's son
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: how to it's either two feet or two feet.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: Why do we have different rules? Why is it I'm
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: gonna give you forty five seconds here, but you're only
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: gonna get twenty seconds.
- 1:10:30Speaker 10: And with this, I.
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: Was it Georgia. Who did Georgia play? Where they went
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: in the eight overtimes this past season?
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Georgia Tech?
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: Georgia Tech was it was eight overtime, eight over time,
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: just going back conversion after right like the fifth overtime,
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: I was on some this is really not I started
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: feeling bad about myself, like what is it about me?
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: I can't tear away from this right now?
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: This isn't this isn't an anything that's benefiting me. I
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: shouldn't watch this. And then like overtime number eight, I
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: was like they really keep going, like there's nobody going
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: to step out and go, man, this ain't making no sense.
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: And it's just I don't understand again how these people
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: who are in charge of these worldwide, multi billion dollar
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: businesses think this simple and this abstract with the rules
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: and the regulations.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: It's amazing to me. I was on the field. I
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: was in the NFL almost two hundred and thirty games.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: I felt like, you go to overtime, you get what
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: you get. I'm sorry if that's how you're playing. We
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: get this the overtime. We have folk quarters to do this.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: We had done this dance. Yeah, you ain't trying to win.
- 1:11:55Speaker 8: Because even if it was like a field goal would
- 1:11:57Speaker 8: win the game, Okay, you won the toss and the
- 1:12:01Speaker 8: defense gotta stop him.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: And I played in the area where you get ties.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: You had a tie if you didn't score in that
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: that quarter. So it can be done. But you know,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: but you know, they keep calling it competition committees, Bourbon
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: Street hustler. The young man at the reporter, Adam Manzano,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: they did find drugs, which they figured they was gonna
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: find drugs in his system, says. The story is still
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: that maybe he had got tangled up and they saw
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: video of him hanging out with the Bourbon Street hustler,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: which you know she known for slipping you a little
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: something help. Yeah, but do you think he knew that
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: was her moniker? No, I don't think so.
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: Okay, so he didn't know her as the Bourbon Street
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: because he was a reporter from out of town that week.
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: He was just listen and I don't I don't mean.
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: I don't mean to disparage mister Menzano and the experience
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: that he had. But if you on Bourbon Street picking
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: up people to take back to your hotel room, you
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: rolling the dice. Anyway, you got to assume every one
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: of these women is that woman. Every one of these
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: women is the Bourbon Street hustler. It's the super Bowl weekend.
- 1:13:24Speaker 5: I'm on Bourbon Street. She down here every weekend for
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: the for the tourists, for the travelers, for the Marti Gras,
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: and now it's Super Bowl.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: This is the super Bowl of hustling. Maybe you should
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: have went to the top.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: Of Tulis somewhere. I'm telling you he could have. Maybe
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: you should have went across the bridge to La Place.
- 1:13:46Speaker 5: But I'm saying you on Bourbon Street.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: On some Hey, what's up with you and you know
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: she again they know how to Hey, he looked like
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: he looked like he looking for what's up.
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: I was in Memphis recently, down there and the smiley
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: t Smiley, Oh, look look at tucked in sweatshirt.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: He got his sweatshirt turned in.
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: I was in Memphis at the casino and at some
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: point I leaned over and I said to my cousin, man,
- 1:14:15Speaker 5: something different about these women walking around here.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: And then it made sense. Yeah, then it made sense
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: when I saw how they were.
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: These women are operating in here in a work capacity,
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: and they stand back and some of them are in groups,
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: some of them are solo, but they sit and assess,
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: and once they see what it is that is the
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: key to their end, they move in and before you
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: know it, them and old boy walking out. Now they
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: got a truck stop park behind the casino. So a
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: lot of these dudes just come and have a layover there. Literally,
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: you see what I'm saying. And so he had to
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: have known something wasn't He should have had his head.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Well, I would hope he didn't get the number or
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: from a partner who would set him up with the

- 1:19:00Speaker 9: Yeah, I was thinking, Yeah, I don't know, but that's fine,
- 1:19:04Speaker 9: forty five. I thought she was older, but you now
- 1:19:08Speaker 9: explain why. I just I mean, I just thought she
- 1:19:10Speaker 9: was in her fifties.
- 1:19:11Speaker 8: For some reason, like close to fifties, I mean she was, Yeah,
- 1:19:15Speaker 8: she was a teenager when they got elected.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember that. Now that was thirty years ago. Okay,
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: you throw these you throw things out there, and you
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: confused us, but then don't want to That's what I'm
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: just confused. I'm trying to just really think about it.
- 1:19:32Speaker 5: Yeah, when that there was an understatement when you said
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: I'm just confused, like that we knew that, we knew
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: that a lot for a long time.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: That you become well, yeah, I couldn't add up Chelsea's
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: Hillary's like seventy five, daughter's forty five. I don't get
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: what the math math is, I said to me.
- 1:19:50Speaker 5: It is to me, it's like maybe you thought Clinton
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: got elected later or sooner. Maybe that's the disconnected.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: There's a ton of people thirty years older than there child, right, Yeah,
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: I don't producer. I'll tell you James Worthy's sixty four

- 1:20:17Speaker 1: Beebes is thirty one. Is it okay for him to
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: be thirty one? It's weird? But let's see who he's
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: thirty one. Booker t of Wwe is sixty. Javier Barden
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: No Country for Old Men. If you've never seen it,
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: great movie, Please watch that movie. Fifty six years old,

- 1:21:49Speaker 1: if you're looking for someone kind of had that Paul
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: Pierce game where you just give you forty, you don't
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: really see it. It didn't physically match up. You know,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: when you look at the status, say forty backing guys
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: down the posting, you look like you checking, like to
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: make sure you're on the right line, like forty points. Okay.

- 1:22:42Speaker 1: nine years old. And our man, Luca Dunkits is twenty
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: six years old. Is Luca. Luca took on his old team,
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: the MAVs the other night, and the Lakers look very strong.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: You just have to maybe avoid well. Joelo Beebe is
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: out and they can avoid yo kic. They could actually
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: ring up a championship because the athletes now they uhould
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: just be an athletic team with no size. But they
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: can do something with that now with Luca and the boys.

- 1:24:21Speaker 1: where we're from. We all from Arkansas.
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: And to come from a sharecropper plantation in Arkansas to
- 1:24:27Speaker 5: knocking down Chelsea Clinton, my granddaddy and jumped out the
- 1:24:31Speaker 5: grave on some god boy.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: Monica Lewinsky said that Jay Leno was bullying her. He
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: didn't have to tell that many jokes about her about
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: her back in the day. You didn't have to.
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: You didn't You didn't have to go in the oval office, Honey, bunny.
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: You ain't have to save the dragom. It's my fault.
- 1:24:53Speaker 5: I was putting the end too radical and tyranny because
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: it was a pretty peaceful time.
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: But but going in the officer make you people say
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: little doing too many openings on her when he does
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: little monologue. Yeah, it's just too many of the winds.
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: People kill me with that. They'll come to comedy shows
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: and show out. And then when you get on them all,
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: why you picking on me because you buck naked in
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: the front row slapping people. That's why I said something
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: about you, Sir Chelsea Clint clonk clonk.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: We'll be back with more to Sports Talk show. I'm
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: gonna get them documents from My Mama.
- 1:25:31Speaker 11: Twelve and it's Sound sixty.
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: We read.
- 1:25:36Speaker 11: And were talking.

- 1:25:51Speaker 10: we push on feeling down. We pull ourselves up by
- 1:25:55Speaker 10: the bootstraps. But there are times when bootstraps aren't enough
- 1:26:00Speaker 10: and stress gets to us and we need to talk
- 1:26:02Speaker 10: to someone about what we're really going through. So we're
- 1:26:05Speaker 10: going to reach out because sometimes mental health is not
- 1:26:08Speaker 10: a one person job.

- 1:26:22Speaker 12: quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:26:26Speaker 12: of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually have
- 1:26:30Speaker 12: life insurance.
- 1:26:30Speaker 30: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:26:32Speaker 30: just getting started with our family and thought we live forever.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind. What
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:26:40Speaker 30: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:26:42Speaker 30: bills piling up, I was worried how my family was
- 1:26:44Speaker 30: survived without me. That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 1:26:46Speaker 30: the insurance.
- 1:26:46Speaker 12: Informant Information gives you power and life insurance gives your
- 1:26:50Speaker 12: family security no matter what stage of life you're in.

- 1:26:55Speaker 30: leave my family with bills or benefits.

- 1:27:17Speaker 12: or bills dot com. And now back to the Sports

- 1:27:23Speaker 27: Gandy Players Lounge.
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: I've been given full access to the player's lounge on
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: How do you do that? How do you do that? Dead?
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: How do you do that? How do you do that? MISSISSIPI?
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: How you do that?
- 1:27:50Speaker 29: Dad?
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: How you do that?
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: Dad?
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: How do you do that that?
- 1:27:57Speaker 27: They want to do that?
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: Run out where? Welcome back to this one shock show.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: I'm this wor shock Wayne Candy. I guess this is
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: what Michael will Hoyt was listening to when he pulled
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: up to the Denver International Airport. The assistant coach for
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: the Broncos accused of punching a cop before being tasered.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: Story goes that Will Hoyt pulled up to the curve
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: and the cops came over and told him he couldn't
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: leave his card, which we've all had that now. I
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: can't go on with that where you pull up to
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: let somebody out or even sometimes back, not recently, but
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: when they first started the hole, you can't pull up
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: on the side. You got to keep things moving. Sometimes,
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: based on how many bags I had, I would try
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: to pull up, run them over to the bag check in,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: then run back to my car and then go park
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: it because you didn't know how far you were going
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: to have to walk. But they kind of stopped that,
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: like you can let drop somebody off were in his case? Uh,
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: the officer told him you couldn't leave the car there.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: He called him a couple of choice words, and I
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: guess when the officer got close to him, he either
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: shoved them or chats bumped him and they put that
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: taser on it. How you do that? Have you ever
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: been tased, even if it was just friendly? Yes, I have,
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: I have. I did it? Uh? Did you do it
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: on purpose?
- 1:29:33Speaker 5: Yeah, because of mine has a nail shot and as
- 1:29:37Speaker 5: a promotional ad for her nail shot, I let her.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: Tase me on film. And was it the zip taser?
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: Wasn't the ones that you have to put it on it?
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: Those are.
- 1:29:56Speaker 5: Those are law enforcement great tasers, the kind that shoot out,
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: but put it on You can get that in a
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: regular store. And they put it on me and I steal.
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: Hair doesn't grow there now And this was probably twelve
- 1:30:09Speaker 5: years ago, so yeah, but.
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: They tasered Mike will Hoyt and we will see how
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: the league handles this. Plenty of cameras around airports. It
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: was a Denver International Airport, so I'm quite sure now
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: one of them was working right now. I'm wondering. But
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: it sounds like the before he said the officers seeing
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: it sounds like he was in his right like you
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: can't pull up right right, And that's what I'm saying.
- 1:30:35Speaker 5: I was going to say, the drop off car and
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: that's the direction you gentlemen just segged way in the
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: direction I was going. This isn't something that surprises you
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: when you arrive at an airport.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: This is this isn't a wing.
- 1:30:54Speaker 5: So why do you think that he chose that time
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: to be on some Nah. I'm not going for all
- 1:31:00Speaker 5: that rule. I mean you know this as well established.
- 1:31:03Speaker 5: This man out here doing his job well, I asked
- 1:31:05Speaker 5: you last show or the show before. Why do people
- 1:31:09Speaker 5: get in too much trouble and friction for doing their job?
- 1:31:14Speaker 5: Why am I wrong for doing my job?
- 1:31:18Speaker 8: I'm saying like they people don't like being told what
- 1:31:20Speaker 8: to do, even if they're signs, even if.
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: It's completely bags on, sir, they don't fit and he's
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: just two bags man, the big old plane gone, Bro, sir, listen,
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: put them in here, sir. They don't feel don't touch
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: my bag, beat, don't touch my bag?
- 1:31:40Speaker 6: Man?
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: This mine? Yeah, big man, sir. I don't know what's
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: up with you. Bro, Sir, I don't want to have
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: to cause security. I'm telling you, uh, you need to
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: take that base out your voice.
- 1:31:49Speaker 5: Hold boy, I'm saying you active call security for what
- 1:31:53Speaker 5: y'all always act.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: Like y'all get your hands off me. Y'all always acting
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: like a black man. Can't you have a suit? Cakee, sir?
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: Your bag won't fit in.
- 1:32:07Speaker 5: You think I'm playing now we're moving furniture in the airport.
- 1:32:12Speaker 5: I bet you we go viral all over me.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: What we've talked about this in airports now.
- 1:32:21Speaker 5: Some of what I think has offended people's sensibilities flying
- 1:32:24Speaker 5: customers is that people are bringing their personal sales to
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: their airport jobs.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: So when you telling me that.
- 1:32:33Speaker 5: Bag won't fit, you don't say, excuse me, sir, that
- 1:32:36Speaker 5: bag didn't go into our sizing compartment and fit, so
- 1:32:40Speaker 5: it can't go in overhead compartment. You stopped me with
- 1:32:44Speaker 5: hold on, big man, don't I know you ain't playing
- 1:32:47Speaker 5: in my face?
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: What what what you mean that would be on society? Yeah,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: I'm saying not on me at work, because you decided
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: that companies didn't have to be hostile or strict about
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: the interview process. Yes, yes, you said all that stuff
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: wasn't needed.
- 1:33:12Speaker 5: You said I was too stringent and it was unattractive
- 1:33:16Speaker 5: to come work to your work labor because there was
- 1:33:19Speaker 5: too many rules and.
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: Re remember that little movement in our society where you
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: shouldn't care about all that. You just give me the job.
- 1:33:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I to be able to wear the earrings that
- 1:33:30Speaker 5: I want my hair like, I won't and meet you
- 1:33:33Speaker 5: doing a background check on me as a violation of
- 1:33:35Speaker 5: my civil rights.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: You look like a kitchen worker, not as a hostess.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: That's discrimination.
- 1:33:43Speaker 5: And then you called me and he said I was
- 1:33:44Speaker 5: discriminating here you is you just he he? He profiled me,
- 1:33:51Speaker 5: He called me in the front.
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: Now we fight. He called me a kitchen worker. How
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: dare you?
- 1:33:59Speaker 27: Oh?
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: The Eagles looks like the Eagles? The Philadelphia Eagles will
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: attend the White House? Is that what's going on record? Yes,
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: if they are, if they are invited, and President Trump
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: has invited them, there's nothing official yet. Okay, Well, but
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: Laurie has came out and said that, Well, good, good choice.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: As I said, it needs to start getting back to
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: regardless of who's the president, either the NFL teams will
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: be going to the White House or they won't. I
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: think it just costs too much confusion and too much
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: noise that it shouldn't be even is it that you're
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: choosing to go back and forth about individual and like
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: I said, as an individual, please don't go somewhere you
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: don't want to go. So I'm not saying you bick Kenny,
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: doesn't then you individually, but the twenty fifteen, eighteen, twenty
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: seven people that do want to go represent the Eagles.
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: We're going you just be in the picture, right and
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: you all and everybody will understand why. And and some
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: of you people, oh, he all, we're gonna do it.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: Serve quarter pounders and something like, y'all don't eat quarter
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: pounders with cheese. Angel re selling it with bacon.
- 1:35:19Speaker 5: Showy orange and orange Phantom of Orange fantasy.
- 1:35:25Speaker 9: Wait wait, they giving up much loved President Trump serving
- 1:35:31Speaker 9: as McDonalds.
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: She throws bacon and barbecue sauce with the orange.
- 1:35:36Speaker 5: That fan she got fancy, I used it mine with
- 1:35:41Speaker 5: the hot mustard. Ask for a little say that. No, no,
- 1:35:45Speaker 5: I'm saying she beat and took that one too. They're
- 1:35:49Speaker 5: not gonna call it the sports jock combo. They don't
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: call it the tiger wood. Get quarter try that look
- 1:35:58Speaker 5: like I had one on the way in. Hey, go on,
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: you flamed, killing you, killing you, you cardio people in
- 1:36:09Speaker 5: the world. Players and keep it player, keep a player.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: Russell Wilson or Justin Fields. Gentlemen, who do you think
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: the stillers? We're getting around to? That free agency here
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: should start here? I think Saturday typically free agency starts
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: like March first. Yes, it's our Saturday, right, Okay? I
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: would I would say Russell Wilson. Okay, Okay, Kenny going
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: with Russell, let me get that on. Okay with the
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: Russ bad producer Justin Okay. I knew that I had
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: already ridden it because he's black. I'm saying, you don't
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: see rus No, no, no, no, no, no no no,
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: you don't know. No, Russell ain't black. Russell interes behalf
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: for you Ain, keep keep it a break.
- 1:37:10Speaker 8: I think they'll go with somebody else. There's a third
- 1:37:12Speaker 8: there's a third person. If just one between those two
- 1:37:16Speaker 8: would I would say Russ? Okay, And if it was
- 1:37:21Speaker 8: between those two, I would say Russ. Because now this
- 1:37:24Speaker 8: is the thing I my knock on Justin Fields. You're
- 1:37:27Speaker 8: in your fourth fifth year in the league. This bet
- 1:37:31Speaker 8: like sick good for Justin Field going to year five, okay,
- 1:37:36Speaker 8: going into year five.
- 1:37:37Speaker 5: You're on your second franchise in five years in the
- 1:37:43Speaker 5: league as a quarterback. And each franchise you've been to
- 1:37:46Speaker 5: they say we're gonna give him some time to develop,
- 1:37:49Speaker 5: and we ain't seen it yet. We five years deep
- 1:37:51Speaker 5: and we're still developing. Come on, man, I mean you know,
- 1:37:55Speaker 5: I would like to go with the younger set of
- 1:37:57Speaker 5: legs and all of that. But I just can't get
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: what I need out of you right now, and I
- 1:38:02Speaker 5: don't have another seven eight years to be waiting on
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: that to develop.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: We see what have happened.
- 1:38:08Speaker 5: I don't want to hear about to happen. I don't
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: want to see as a coach. That's why I don't coach,
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: because I'm not sympathetic to none of that. No, when
- 1:38:16Speaker 5: you got here, you got here number one, and you're
- 1:38:20Speaker 5: supposed to be that dude when you walk through the door.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but see what happened on my way from Chicago. Oh,
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: I drove over here. Oh I kind of got lost
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: in Cincinnati. Y'all better get you all.
- 1:38:33Speaker 5: I'll better get you I'm saying now because he got
- 1:38:35Speaker 5: close to getting grabbed by me.
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: I think I could pick Justin if he at some
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: point I saw him with a haircut. He's been in
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: the least five years, and still if I bump into
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: him in the next day or so and he cut
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: his hair, I'll go with Justin. But right now I'm
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: gonna go with Russ. But until you get rid of
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: them the plats my mama used to call them cat titties,
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: rhythm flats, like he ate. I'm a ride with old

- 1:39:29Speaker 26: Next, Real Talk on Drugs. But it's time we know
- 1:39:34Speaker 26: the facts. Fentanyl is killing people. It's a powerful opioid,
- 1:39:38Speaker 26: often made illegally and commonly mixed with illiced drugs. It
- 1:39:42Speaker 26: can even be pressed into counterfeit pills that resemble prescription medications.
- 1:39:46Speaker 26: Just two milligrams, about the size of a few grains
- 1:39:48Speaker 26: of sand, could potentially be lethal. This isn't an ad

- 1:40:04Speaker 27: two year old and a nine year old on my own.
- 1:40:06Speaker 27: I think men can be a little stubborn sometimes, where
- 1:40:09Speaker 27: pride gets in the way and they may want the help,
- 1:40:12Speaker 27: they may not know how to ask. With my traditions,
- 1:40:16Speaker 27: with the family support in line, and just with my
- 1:40:19Speaker 27: mind frame, I was able to turn a negative into
- 1:40:23Speaker 27: a positive. I knew I needed more tools in my
- 1:40:26Speaker 27: toolbox to take care of these little girls that just
- 1:40:29Speaker 27: lost their mother. It's time for me to be that
- 1:40:31Speaker 27: father that I knew I could be. I think just
- 1:40:34Speaker 27: being that good role model as well. That model's good
- 1:40:37Speaker 27: behavior in front of them, going to work every day,
- 1:40:41Speaker 27: coming home and being able to put on that smile.

- 1:41:32Speaker 1: And now back to the sports giant, Wayne Gandy locked
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: on so you don't can sit a sports joint. Welcome
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: back to the Sportshock Show Up the Sport Shock Wing
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: game to good morning to you. Have we emphasized championships
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: in team sports too much? Has it over ridden performance? Guys?
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: This is something just me being at a game Hawks
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: game the other day. It was a great game. They
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: were playing the Pistons, and I was sitting there watching
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: and I understand the idea of everybody wants to win
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: a championship, correct, But have we put so much weight
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: on that, especially when we talk about the idea of
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: the NBA. Now to where guys have this idea we
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: don't need to perform if it's not in a championship
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: capacity capacity. I think that what's happening right to that
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: the individual game experience for the fan is not enough.
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: And I was sitting there thinking this because I was like, man,
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: this is a great game right that I'm watching. Does
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: it really matter if neither one of these two teams
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: win a championship.
- 1:43:16Speaker 5: I don't think it matters if you're at the game
- 1:43:19Speaker 5: for the spirit of the competition. I think that a
- 1:43:22Speaker 5: lot of what people are experiencing now and maybe even
- 1:43:25Speaker 5: subconsciously unconsciously, is we live in a timeline highlights society.
- 1:43:31Speaker 5: So everything you see on social media is the best play.
- 1:43:35Speaker 5: Everything you see given to you is the award being won.
- 1:43:39Speaker 5: There is nobody who got runner up anymore. You see
- 1:43:43Speaker 5: in people win all the time. So if it ain't
- 1:43:45Speaker 5: a championship situation, why should it even matter to me?
- 1:43:49Speaker 5: I'm looking for the highlights. We are so caught up
- 1:43:53Speaker 5: on highlights now, that's all. If you look at the
- 1:43:56Speaker 5: coverage of the sport, they do fifteen to twenty minutes
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: of highlights from other games in the middle of a.
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: Game magic, Greg. Do the individual games matter to you?
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: To me? Like, I'm I like watching them, I'm entertained.
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: But I think.
- 1:44:15Speaker 8: For the regular season, a lot of people aren't tuned
- 1:44:19Speaker 8: in in that way to where they want to see
- 1:44:21Speaker 8: the They want to see certain matchups, even just between
- 1:44:24Speaker 8: players that doesn't matter it like can we just get
- 1:44:28Speaker 8: to the playoffs? A lot of people are like.
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: That, but sometimes in those playoff situations, you still don't
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: get the matchup that you was dreaming of. Right, you
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: just might end up with two you know. In the
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: fantasy world, sure you ended up with the eighty five
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: Bears versus the two thousand Ravens, right, and you know.
- 1:44:49Speaker 5: But in reality, you got the teams have won the
- 1:44:54Speaker 5: most games going against each other.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: That's how it goes every championship season.
- 1:44:59Speaker 5: If I win more games than you and get to
- 1:45:02Speaker 5: the playoffs and then beat you in the playoffs, I
- 1:45:04Speaker 5: go to the champions No.
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: Regular season is how you get to the playoffs. You would,
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:45:11Speaker 9: That's why it should be important because if you're not
- 1:45:13Speaker 9: playing during the regular season, not putting that effort for
- 1:45:17Speaker 9: you're not, you don't stand a chance to make it
- 1:45:19Speaker 9: to the playoffs. And you, like you said, like Kenny
- 1:45:22Speaker 9: was saying, you do when you had a good game
- 1:45:24Speaker 9: and you you're there, You're interested in the game. You
- 1:45:26Speaker 9: want to see it because it's it's it's there, it's
- 1:45:29Speaker 9: right there in front of you, even on TV.
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: Even mean if it's good.
- 1:45:32Speaker 9: I mean, well, we're all not the same, but I
- 1:45:35Speaker 9: mean I like competition regardless, and I think that if
- 1:45:38Speaker 9: you're not competing in the regular season, you're not getting
- 1:45:41Speaker 9: to the playoffs.
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: And I just think that we have as a society
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: some of we've created a monster, especially in basketball. It
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: shows itself that all you're going to be if you
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: don't have a ring, you ain't have no career. Oh
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: we really created this idea if you ain't got no ring.
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: And I was sitting there like, well, I would rather
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: have this kind of game and this kind of entertainment.
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: I don't The game doesn't have to have anything on it,
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: just a great game. I'm saying that it's the game
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: that I bought the ticket to see. Why wouldn't I
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: enjoy this game?
- 1:46:22Speaker 8: It's a question I've heard like probably the last fifteen years,
- 1:46:27Speaker 8: whose career would you rather have? As about squall player
- 1:46:31Speaker 8: Robert Orri's or Charles Barclays, which career would you rather have?
- 1:46:36Speaker 8: Because I told you, like Robert riy is he's not
- 1:46:39Speaker 8: a Hall of Famer, but he won seven championships?
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: What else did he do? He was and for a
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: couple of those he was just on the team. And it's.
- 1:46:50Speaker 8: Don't I remember there are moments from Robert Ory's career,
- 1:46:53Speaker 8: but nothing substantial. He didn't make an All Star team,
- 1:46:56Speaker 8: he didn't make an All Defensive team. He just got
- 1:46:58Speaker 8: those sets.
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: Did you take trophies though? Or would you?
- 1:47:03Speaker 8: Or Charles Barkley's career, who doesn't He? Yes, he didn't
- 1:47:05Speaker 8: win a championship, but he won an MVP. He's a
- 1:47:09Speaker 8: top fifteen all time scorer and rebounder.
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: And Robert Or he quiet.
- 1:47:17Speaker 5: When Charles Barkley is around Robert Or and champions start
- 1:47:21Speaker 5: talking about rings and trophies. Charles Barkley has to keep
- 1:47:25Speaker 5: his mouth closed because he can't speak from a place
- 1:47:29Speaker 5: of first hand knowledge about championships. Now, I'm not saying
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: that that doesn't make him one of the most phenomenal
- 1:47:35Speaker 5: players ever to have been in there, But what does.
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: That mean in a team sport? And that has always
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: been something and I know we don't have much time,
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: it means something if we go on this tennis court,
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: because it's just me and you, right, But not having
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: a ring doesn't mean that I didn't do my part,
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: my part, that's correct, that's correct, miter don't Yeah, that's it.
- 1:48:09Speaker 5: I made all my time, man called a pass. All
- 1:48:12Speaker 5: of that I did when I was I ran for
- 1:48:15Speaker 5: two thousand yards that y'all.
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: Tapped me before we went on the field on the
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: court said, y'all need forty two points. I gave you
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: forty four. We ain't win the championship. How is that mine?
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: I gave you exactly what y'all said. Y'all want more
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: more than what you needed from me. And that's why
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: he always make sure I specify between team an individual.
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: That's correct, because it is a different path. You're relying
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: on people. Other people dictate whether you're gonna win. No
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: different than in golf when they do the little three
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: or four of them play what do y'all call that match?
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: Play golf when y'all have the big match whereas like
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: they team up the Rider Cup or that's different then
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: you know the masters. Yeah, it's different individuals just by yourself. Yeah,
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: this individual the other one that I'm hitting from where
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: you hit that's true. Scrambles and stuff. Yeah, those kind
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: of things you got to hit after wherever you hit it.
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: I got to start from there. So it just made
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: me Monday when I was watching the game, like we
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: have gotten out of the idea of just play a
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: great game tonight. Maybe you won't win the championship, but
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: boy that night you put up seventy three. It was
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: a great game to be.
- 1:49:29Speaker 5: At that kind of Elder Casey Lamar Hughey Senior says
- 1:49:33Speaker 5: that true fans of a particular team or individual will
- 1:49:37Speaker 5: tune in no matter what. So if if we like
- 1:49:40Speaker 5: that team, we like the game. But I mean you
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: see some of that with the Hawks. They don't come
- 1:49:46Speaker 5: to see.
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: If you're not playing in the regular season, you can't
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: get to the playoffs. We'll be back more than Sports
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: Jock Show right after this.

- 1:52:26Speaker 1: we've had a loss, another loss, and we think about
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: all the people that have taken this journey with us
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: as a show, and we've lost some soldiers on the way.
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: All right, man, say Cou Smith.
- 1:52:43Speaker 9: Uh.
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: We we lost him a couple of years ago. Erica Ash,
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: the actress comedian who was part of the family as well,
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: Lady T. Her husband, Anthony Brown passed the way. Lady
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: T was an originator of the Sports Jock Show. Her
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: husband passed away back about two years now for Anthony, Uh,
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: two years for Erica as well. Say Koo left us
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: about maybe five years ago during the COVID year. And
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: we've had another Big Kenny's brother in life, Ireland Stewart.
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: Big Kenny tell us Uh, Sterling Stewart Jr. My lifelong friend.
- 1:53:30Speaker 29: Man.
- 1:53:31Speaker 5: There's not a part of my life that I lived
- 1:53:33Speaker 5: today that he hadn't impacted.
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:53:37Speaker 5: He was instrumental as a Uh. He was a frat
- 1:53:41Speaker 5: brother of mine. But he was a friend first and
- 1:53:44Speaker 5: then we became frat brothers.
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: UH.
- 1:53:48Speaker 5: Everything that he did, he took me with him. Everything
- 1:53:52Speaker 5: I tried to do, I tried to bring him along.
- 1:53:54Speaker 5: And as such here on the Sports Jock Show.
- 1:53:57Speaker 23: UH.
- 1:53:57Speaker 5: Being an athletic director at Savannah State University, he used
- 1:54:01Speaker 5: to correspond with us. I believe it was on Tuesdays
- 1:54:04Speaker 5: and this was before nil. He would help us navigate
- 1:54:07Speaker 5: all of those questions and concerns that we had about
- 1:54:10Speaker 5: college sports that we were unable to have a first
- 1:54:14Speaker 5: hand point of view. Four he would call in and
- 1:54:17Speaker 5: clear it up for us. He spent some time in
- 1:54:19Speaker 5: the studio with us. He was currently at Morgan State University.
- 1:54:24Speaker 5: Thought he had a bad call, went to urgent care.
- 1:54:28Speaker 5: They said it was the flu. By the time he
- 1:54:31Speaker 5: got urgent care, the flu had turned to pneumonia. They
- 1:54:34Speaker 5: rushed him to the hospital and as one of his
- 1:54:37Speaker 5: coworkers explained to me, in the middle of the night,
- 1:54:40Speaker 5: things took a turn for the worst and he just
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: never recovered. And today is Thursday, Tuesday night, at twelve
- 1:54:50Speaker 5: twenty five am.
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: He passed.
- 1:54:52Speaker 5: So shout out to Sterling. I want to thank you
- 1:54:54Speaker 5: all for being willing to recognize my friend and his
- 1:54:59Speaker 5: countrybution to the show and for being willing to accept
- 1:55:04Speaker 5: him into our circle the way you did me, and
- 1:55:07Speaker 5: thank you for that. He was very fond of everybody here,
- 1:55:11Speaker 5: and Sterle was a hard critic, so for him to
- 1:55:14Speaker 5: genuinely like you, you had to be real. So it
- 1:55:17Speaker 5: made me feel better about the circle that I'm in
- 1:55:20Speaker 5: that he was able to come and go, hey, man,
- 1:55:22Speaker 5: they all right, because you know, he was just one
- 1:55:25Speaker 5: of those guys for me.
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: So thank you.
- 1:55:28Speaker 5: El the case, he said to my deepest condolences to
- 1:55:30Speaker 5: you for your loss, and I appreciate that man. Thank
- 1:55:33Speaker 5: y'all and rest in peace for you.
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, Sterle even had me down at Savannah
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: State coaching for a couple of days. His offensive line
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: Terrence Mathis was the offensive coordinator. Terrence Mathis is now
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: the head coach over at Morehouse, and he lifted that
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: veil for all of us, I think on the show
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: when he let us know that that dating policy, maybe
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: about eight nine years ago, we had had some stories
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: about the coaches dating players, and he educated that it's
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: more school to school. He thought it was a blanket
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: rule that and he was like, no, it's based on
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: the school administration. Where so we had to be very
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: careful with stories from then because sometimes that coach is
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: not wrong based on that university. He can date a player.
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: And we talked, I know a good part about even
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: that window where Savannah State had taken on Florida State and.
- 1:56:35Speaker 5: Yeah, like three D one powerhouse Miami and we were
- 1:56:41Speaker 5: in Miami, Oklahoma.
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: They talked about losing the season, how taking a team,
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: and he was saying the excitement for the young guys
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: at his program was great, but it is dangerous to
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: play bigger, stronger opponents weekend and week out. And they
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: were doing it for the economics, but you can't end
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: up by the time you get through that amen corner
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: a lesser team when you do it that frequently as
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: they were doing it. And I think that so he
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: did open that both of those veins of life for
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: us to learn.
- 1:57:18Speaker 9: And he was one and and that's the what brought
- 1:57:21Speaker 9: to my thought about with was the when he that
- 1:57:23Speaker 9: situation there, and like you said, he was one of
- 1:57:27Speaker 9: the few that was willing to go out there and
- 1:57:29Speaker 9: take a chance early on to go get that check.
- 1:57:32Speaker 9: You see, everybody run me my check now. But your
- 1:57:37Speaker 9: line brother was one of the first and one thing,
- 1:57:40Speaker 9: he's actually my knee fight. Now, can I say one thing,
- 1:57:43Speaker 9: and I'm gonna say this is what I liked about
- 1:57:45Speaker 9: it too. When he said that time he said he
- 1:57:47Speaker 9: got a call from all the alumni, but he pulled
- 1:57:50Speaker 9: a list out and said, well, I ain't seeing you
- 1:57:53Speaker 9: donating the long time. When he said that that right there,
- 1:57:57Speaker 9: I fell in love with him as far as a friend,
- 1:57:59Speaker 9: because you you try to call me out, but you
- 1:58:02Speaker 9: ain't doing what you're supposed to do.
- 1:58:03Speaker 5: In that time, he expressed to me that this season,
- 1:58:06Speaker 5: playing those three schools, he generated more money than the
- 1:58:09Speaker 5: program had generated in the prior ten seasons, and the
- 1:58:13Speaker 5: alumni called for him to be fired. Yeah, and he
- 1:58:16Speaker 5: said that that was the meeting he had. He called
- 1:58:18Speaker 5: them all in and pulled out the alumni donation.
- 1:58:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:58:22Speaker 5: So wherever you had on this list, you speak first,
- 1:58:25Speaker 5: and everybody got quiet. Okay, I see y'all next season,
- 1:58:29Speaker 5: next season meeting over.
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: Thank you for that. Sterling. In my hometown of Hayne City,
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: and I'm quite sure all of us, no matter where
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: you went, whatever little town, you had your own local legends. Yes,
- 1:58:43Speaker 1: one of my local legends in my town named bo Rivers.
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: He was our Larry Birdy. He was the little kid
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: we all thought we were gonna grow up play basketball
- 1:58:53Speaker 1: like boul River. He passed away. But I know everybody
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: can connect. You might not know today with that person is,
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: but we all grew up with some street legend. Oh yeah,
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: that you know, it's not just always your sporting experience
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: is not just the Tony Dorris sets and oh yeah,
- 1:59:13Speaker 1: there's a tree that we all football. That man. You know,
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: if you went to that town, there was talking about
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: a person that you have no cle, no no, no
- 1:59:26Speaker 1: conscious about, but that town does.
- 1:59:28Speaker 5: Is mak Mood abd Ro former Christian actions. Did he
- 1:59:31Speaker 5: make it to the Hall of Fame, but he was
- 1:59:36Speaker 5: a he was a phenomenal NBA player, but at the
- 1:59:38Speaker 5: time he was in high school, it was a kid
- 1:59:40Speaker 5: named Damian Smith that gave him nightmares. I'm talking about
- 1:59:44Speaker 5: he played for Hattiesburg High. I worked with his father,
- 1:59:47Speaker 5: and this kid would shoot the lights out of an
- 1:59:49Speaker 5: NBA arena and just never made it to that next level.
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: So when I when they when I heard over the
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: last couple of days he passed, He's like, maybe fifty eight.
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: I was thinking, man, people just don't know this guy
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: was the Tom Brady. He was of high school basketball.
- 2:00:07Speaker 1: We run over to the gym to see and Bo,
- 2:00:10Speaker 1: there's giving it to him, you know. And that's He
- 2:00:13Speaker 1: went to Morehead State, maybe played a year or two
- 2:00:15Speaker 1: and fizzled out, but on the high school level for
- 2:00:18Speaker 1: my town, he was that kind of legend. So r
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: P to you, bowl, r P to you, Sterle, and
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: we are in the ocean. The truth is he will
- 2:00:30Speaker 1: throw your in the ocean. It's time to wrap things
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: up on the Sports Judge Show with Wayne when you're
- 2:01:07Speaker 1: the sounds of Oh, give the spot shot testamented to Vince.
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: We'd like to thank you for tuning in to today's
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: show or Monday show at anytime in the fourteen years
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: we've been putting this show on. We appreciate it greatly.
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: Bit Kenny, Command you, Greg bad producer, thank you for
- 2:01:24Speaker 1: your contributions today. If you missed any of the show,
- 2:01:28Speaker 1: you can go to Apple Podcasts, Amazon podcast, Audible, Deezer, iHeartRadio,
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: or Spotify and catch the replay. Caught a hey, y'all
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: to Amsterdam. There was a flight, y'all. Keep in the
- 2:01:50Speaker 1: washing machine. Y'all all. That man thought he was gonna
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: make it over to Amsterdam. He was leaving Columbia. But
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: officers spotted something unusual. The gentleman's two pay was a
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: little too high. Officer when and got him out of
- 2:02:15Speaker 1: blind the forty year old and walked into the back,
- 2:02:20Speaker 1: found out he had cocaine underneath his two pay.
- 2:02:27Speaker 5: About ten ounces? Wasn't it a couple of baggs about
- 2:02:31Speaker 5: ten ounces?
- 2:02:31Speaker 1: I was gonna take over the Amsterdam. They had to
- 2:02:35Speaker 1: cut the two pay off, and he had it just
- 2:02:38Speaker 1: bagged up already ready for sale when he landed. Needless
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: to say, he never made the Amsterdam. He's still down
- 2:02:48Speaker 1: in Cornianga. But I just thought the ingenuity we talked
- 2:02:53Speaker 1: about that in the pre show, the ingenuity that people have,
- 2:02:58Speaker 1: You would imagine they would be doing something else then
- 2:03:01Speaker 1: hiding cocaine under two pay. But we done all been
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: pulled out of line by security. Am I right? Am
- 2:03:07Speaker 1: I right?
- 2:03:08Speaker 29: No?
- 2:03:08Speaker 5: No, no, no, big I ain't never pulled you out
- 2:03:10Speaker 5: of airport security. No, and make you go to the
- 2:03:13Speaker 5: little room with the red folder. Don't I have no
- 2:03:17Speaker 5: clue what you dumb up? Okay, never mind, but uh yeah,
- 2:03:24Speaker 5: we we we gotta throw you.
- 2:03:27Speaker 23: In.
- 2:03:27Speaker 1: They didn't have a name for him. I have his name.
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: They didn't they had released the name for him. Can
- 2:03:37Speaker 1: say he was a forty year old Columbia.
- 2:03:39Speaker 5: Now I have his name, so now in make one
- 2:03:42Speaker 5: seven six, two, four three nine, that's his name now.
- 2:03:48Speaker 1: Uh And and distributing cocaine and Columbia is a heavy defense.
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he had to do. He's already just right.
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: It's illegal and everything. So yeah, he had it bagged
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: up district just one for personal you but from the
- 2:04:05Speaker 1: Spots Shop show. As we always say, we'll see you
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: in the future. This video of that too. If you
- 2:04:09Speaker 1: want to see him, watch.
- 2:04:10Speaker 5: Him cut the two pay off and start counting the
- 2:04:13Speaker 5: little packets of cocaine.
- 2:04:14Speaker 1: It's entertaining. We'll see you in the future. Peace,
